Well, let's go back to one other things.
Look, you have heard enough.
I have answered your question.
Now I have to see Sarah Connor.
I'm afraid that's not up to me.
Why am I talking to you?
Because I...
Who is an authority here?
Shut up!
You still don't get it, do you?
He'll find her.
That's what he does.
I need some passion tonight.
Welcome back to another episode of the action return.
I'm your host Brian, with me as always is my brother Ned.
What's up, man?
Yo, what is up?
everybody we've been gone a while but a lot's been happening with the shows and personal stuff
as well for those you that all know but oh man yeah it's been a while it's been a minute what
was the last one we did I don't even remember uh soldier boys oh wasn't that last year
yeah all right we won't we won't take a year hiatus everyone but uh let everyone know what we're
doing tonight
here to do
1984's The Terminator.
The Perceived
The Confrontation
Arnold Schwarzenegger
is the Terminator
Ritted on. Now playing
at a theater near you.
Disguised as a human,
a cyborg assassin
known as a Terminator
travels from
2009 to
1984 to kill Sarah Conner
sent to protect Sarah as
Kyle Reese
who divulges the
coming of SkyNet
an artificial intelligence system
that will spark nuclear
Holocaust. Sarah is a target
because she
because SkyNet knows
that her unborn son
will lead to fight against them
with virtually
unstoppable Terminator in pursuit
she and Kyle
attempt to escape.
Just come on.
Let's see. I and
D.B.
Okay.
A cyborg assassin
from the
future attempts to find and kill
a young woman who is
destined to give birth to a warrior that will
lead a resistance to save
humankind from extinction.
This is directed by
James Cameron.
And stars.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Michael Bean, Paul Winfield, Lance Henriksen, Rick Rostitch,
Bess Motte, Earl Bowen, Dick Miller, and a bunch of other people.
Nez, when was the first time you watched The Terminator?
I saw this back in 84 the weekend it came out, which was, where is it came out, October 26th, so probably the 27th Saturday.
I didn't even know what this was.
My brother and I, we went to go see something else that was playing at the upstairs theater.
and then when that was done
he was like let's go see the Terminator
I was like what's that
he was I don't know like Conan's in it
okay
so we went and we sat down and watched it
we came in it was already going
we came in when
Kyle Reese was running around
in that little department store
when he got those fresh ass
there were Nikes
I don't know what they were called
but everybody called them the Terminators
just because of this movie
they were black with silver
and they had like a silver
silver strap
I'm right off the rack
yeah
so yeah that was the first time
we had seen it and when it was over
we were like damn that was hell of good let's watch it again
but we had to sit through
another movie which I don't remember
probably another action film just to see
to watch the Terminator again
and these were the days when they didn't kick you out of the theater
you could sit in there all day
watch movies over and over and over and over again so but when was the first time you've seen this
uh this was a VHS rental for me my dad showed me it because I was a big Arnold fan so
whenever I was probably I had to been like maybe 10 11 years old
and loved it ever since because in a sense it's it's not just an action sci-fi film it's also kind
a horror film because the way Arnold's Terminator character is coming at Linda Hamilton is like a
like a slasher character like a psycho killer the way he's stalking out these females out of the
phone book and I always like that aspect of it what I liked about it is was like he was the bad
guy and then of course as the series went on he became the good guy but I mean it was at that time
Arnold only had like a handful of like starring roles. Conan was big and I would say was this
after Conan I mean his like um
opened it up right yeah uh yeah trying to see this was after both conan movies
after the destroyer yeah he did Conan he did the conan he did the
barbarian in 1982 and the destroyer right before this one okay and red sonya right after so this was
right in between those when is the destroyer come out because i saw that one
uh it was a double feature with uh star trick three a star shrieuer
that was in 29 1984 okay so this was this came out
uh right before the summer i guess it was in time for the summer summer movies have we done any of those
no we need to there's only two so but and that uh jason momoa one but uh i have it somewhere in this
collection i seen it once but i don't i don't remember it or rod perlman was his father yeah
Oh man, but this one, again, this is back when the posters had the big paragraphs on them.
They don't do that anymore.
But in the year of Darkness, 2029, which is only in a few years, the rulers of this planet devised the ultimate plan.
They would reshape the future by changing the past.
The plan required something that felt no pity, no pain, no fear, something unstoppable.
something unstoppable they created the terminator i did not know who james cameron was at this point um i'm pretty sure i had
seen piranha too already but uh i didn't know who he was so after this it was like all right i mean
let me keep an eye on this director and of course we had some other t-2 and abyss and all that other stuff
and Titanic when he was king of the world and the avatians right after this
yeah that was one of the main things we we had went and seen because of him
figured he'd do a good job with this oh this also stars the late and great
uh bill paxton rest in peace um but yeah man i just i just love this movie because i remember
when we got home we told my dad about it because my daddy like the the con
movies and uh sunday he goes hey let's go see terminator so we went and watched it again so
it's by that time i'd seen it three times so but oh man i i love this movie i just i watch it whenever
it's one of those movies if it's on i don't care what part it's on i'll just turn it on and
just sit there and watch it or from cleaning house or just doing whatever poking around on my
phone which i pretty much did while i was watching i only watched
It's the, uh, the exciting parts.
But of course, this had the whole slew of films afterwards.
Um, I, I enjoyed all of them.
But, uh, I, I don't know.
I mean, salvation, that one was okay.
Yeah, it's okay.
Dark fate.
That one was, it was cool.
I like Genesis more.
But, uh, I mean, this.
universe was was bouncing all over the place I did like how the first three at least went in some kind of order they didn't they weren't they weren't jumping around and with time travel well there's time travel in all of them but they weren't like in Genesis they went back to 1984 and got all that and we had the the mother of dragons she was Sarah Connor and that one but then when they did uh dark fate
That when they killed John Connor?
Yeah.
When Edward Furlong.
The CGI version.
Yeah.
I mean, that was cool.
I did meet the guy that was the bad Terminator, the, uh, the, uh, ghost writer.
Uh, I guess it was he Mexican or?
Yeah.
Him.
He was cool.
He was walking down the street at, it was, uh, they were hyping up dark fate at Comic Con.
And he was just walking.
up the street with his mom and I don't think anybody knew who he was yet I know he had
been in other things but he was just strolling down the street going back to his hotel
and I saw him and he was talking to somebody and then his mom was standing there and
she goes you do you know who he is and I was like yeah that's the guy and the new Terminator
and he goes yeah that's my son I was like oh that's cool I said is he cool to get a picture
with his yeah yeah sure so when he was done talking with whoever um she was like come
i i can't even remember his name she was like come here come here this guy he knows who you are
oh really he goes were you in the panel i said no but i knew who you were abria luna yeah i said i know
who you were or who you are and i said i can't wait to see the new movie he's all right man it's
really cool so she goes here let me take your picture she took my phone and took a picture of us so
that was really cool.
Oh, I met, uh, what was his name?
The, the psychiatrist dude, uh, Earl Bowen.
He played a Silberman, Dr. Silverman.
I met him.
He, I was, uh, putting, taking out the trash and, uh, out of the back of the airplane.
And I opened up the door and he was standing there.
Um, I remembered him from that TV show Mama's family.
for those of you to watch that show.
And he was standing and went, hey, how are you doing?
And I went, oh, man, I loved you in Mama's family.
I mean, I knew he was in Terminator, but Mama's family was the first thing that came to my head.
So he just kind of laughed.
Oh, right, all cool.
As well as I met Bill Paxton, rest in peace.
I met him at Comic Con.
He was so fucking cool.
He was in our hotel at the Hard Rock.
And he was down in the lobby.
He was just walking around with his daughter.
And I said, excuse me, Mr. Paxton?
Is it cool?
if I get a picture he's like yeah yeah sure so I got a picture with him he was he was
he was hell of cool but yeah I've seen this movie a billion times but
I was gonna say something else I can't remember I mean but at this time I mean we
didn't we didn't know there was gonna be all of these other Terminator movies I mean
before the internet and all that or if the internet was there,
I didn't have it.
When we found out about Terminator 2,
I was like,
oh, cool. So I was wondering how that one was going to go.
And then, oh, okay.
I mean, I like this one.
Out of all the Terminator movies,
this is probably one of my favorite just because of what it was
on kicking off the whole series.
Ryan Pictures, are they still around?
yeah they're still around
I haven't seen that logo
a long time
they're putting out like smaller stuff
but they're still kicking
but this was in the
before the CGI
I mean the CGI in Terminator 2
you watch that now and it looks
I mean when it came out
and it was like oh man this is amazing
but you watch it now same thing
with the abyss
it's not the greatest
but I mean it was still awesome
all right man
I love this because it was all pretty much practical
with the models
and the
stop animation towards the end
when the Terminator was chasing
Sarah Connor
but I always loved the beginning
and in the 80s
nuclear war was the big
scary thing
I mean
Russia was the bad guys
back then
every movie that came out
our heroes were fighting Russians from Rambo to
whoever else and the Vietnam movies
were big especially with Chuck Norse rest in peace
but I always loved the beginning of this because it was really cool with the
models and the the HKs the Hunter Killer Ships
and the tanks they had and all these little freedom fighters
I remember when I first saw this I was like oh man I want to see that movie
and then years and years later we get Terminator Salvation, which...
It was a movie.
Yeah, it was okay, but it wasn't like how the future was presented to us in this.
Yeah, no offense to what's his name, Sam Worthington,
but that was when they were trying to push him as a leading man.
Yeah, that wasn't.
I mean, what's his name is John Connor, Batman?
man.
It's not the movie.
It's not the movie.
He was yelling at somebody.
Yeah, I don't remember what for,
but if you guys don't remember that,
go to YouTube and look up Christian Bale,
losing it on set.
I don't know.
It sounds like somebody
wasn't paying attention
or doing their job right,
and he just lost it.
I think I could be wrong,
but I think they were filming a scene
and somebody was on their phone
walking through the scene
or walking by the scene,
talking.
and he just blew the fuck up.
Yeah.
That was Mick G.
I remember he's on the director,
Dan. He's one that brought us,
was it Charlie's Angels?
The first remake,
the one with Jew Barrymore
and Cameron Diaz and Lucy Lou.
Did he do the babysitter?
Did he do that one?
It was Samara weaving.
I think he did that one.
I seen it once.
I don't even remember it.
But did you see that other
Charlie's Angels, the one with
what's her name from Twilight?
No, I skipped that one.
I kind of wanted to see it, but I just never got to it.
Maybe I'll search for it.
Yeah, I mean, we see the HKs
driving, flying around, and the cool-ass tank
things with the guns shooting out.
had everybody rolling over all the skulls and everything.
I mean, that was cool.
I liked that, but I was thinking they must have just had piles of bodies they just threw on the ground
in order to have all these skulls that these tanks were driving over.
But, of course, in the very beginning, they had this big huge paragraph.
The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire.
Their war to exterminate mankind had raged for decades, but the final battle would not be fought
in the future, it would be fought here in our present tonight.
That was sweet, because I don't think we ever got any text we had to read.
And, of course, in Terminator 2, we had Sarah Connor talking about Judgment Day and all that type of stuff.
So, I know she, well, movie-wise, didn't they say she died in the third one?
Yeah.
from something leukemia or whatever because then uh was it nick stall was that his name
yeah the the guy from sin city the yellow bastard yeah him the main kid from bully if you guys
have seen that movie i would like to do that but that was kind of rough that was a rough movie did you
see that one yeah i've seen that one i picked up the blu-ray from whoever put it out i don't remember
I haven't watched it recently, but it's a rough movie.
One of Larry Clark's movies for those guys that know who he is.
But I was always a fan of the score, especially the main Terminator theme.
I thought that was really cool.
And they use it in pretty much all of the films.
So I thought that was pretty sweet.
But, I mean, how this one begins is just basically we see this gentleman.
He an All-Star.
He's like in a million movies.
What the hell is this gentleman's name?
He was the trash guy.
Dick Miller.
Is that his name?
No, no, no, no.
That's the guy in the gun store.
He's a black gentleman.
He was, I remember he was in a lot of those 70s films,
and he was 16 canals.
No, not 16 candles.
science no yeah weird science he was uh one of one of the guys in the in the bar but anyway he's
uh the trash man in this i don't even see his name here wait is this him yeah that's it this is
name chino fats williams rest in peace he passed back in uh 2000 but this guy is like one of that
guy he's been in like a ton of things but yeah because he's he said he's
sitting there and then we're getting all this uh electricity and then all of a sudden this big flash
and we don't see anything what i really loved has what they did in terminator two we we still don't
see how the terminator show up we don't see that until terminator three rise of the machines
when we see the actual orb that the uh the people uh come back and travel and time in
but this one was pretty sweet i did like how i mean we we get arnold and all his glow
in L.A.
What?
The something time displacement
thing. I can't remember what they
called it, but.
And then we get the great Bill Paxton, being a
punk rocker.
And isn't this the dude from
Cobra, the killer?
The guy with the
with the jaw.
Yeah, him.
Yeah.
He's another guy that's been in
hell of movies. I liked him
in three amigos.
if you guys remember that film
you got two guys that are well known
and you don't even know who the other dude is
the guy that actually was wearing
Arnold's Terminator gear
I got a little
it's just a little gripe
for those of you that
have seen this movie a million times
when we see Arnold right here
in the very beginning
his hair is just
normal
of course when he jumps through the fires
when it it singes them and it gets
all spiked up
just a nitpick
it's like these terminators
were ruling off the assembly line
because we get another
a CGI Arnold in salvation
and
of course we get him in Terminator 2
and so on and so forth
did they like
redesigned his hair
when he came back in Terminator 2
because he already had the spike
wiki hair.
And in this one,
the original,
was it Cyberdine Systems model
101, he's got
just regular styled
hair. And
I was that always, that
didn't rub me right after watching,
after seeing all the other films.
Yeah.
But I like how he just
rolls up on these guys and
give me your clothes. And then they're like,
fuck you asshole. And then they try to shank,
come with their knives. Well, one of them did.
But he grabs the dude
from the slasher from
Cobra. He's the
pulls his spine out or whatever.
And then, because
Bill Paxson looks like he just
I guess he may
be broke his nose. I don't know, but he
just kind of, he just hit him and he fell back.
And the other dude,
assume we killed him. Because he
gave up his clothes.
And then we
were introduced to Kyle
Reese. This was really cool.
Of course, they don't really, they don't show how they get
there. I mean, they just show the electricity.
And then all of a sudden we see Kyle Reese
just fall out of the sky and
and douche.
And he looks like he's already been through some battle damage,
which we do see later in the film,
because he's got scars all over him, and
this looked like it hurt.
But they did say it did hurt
when they were traveling.
I can't remember which movie it was
when they were saying that. I think it was
Genesis. Is that the one?
on. Oh, that's right. It was
Captain Boomerang.
Yeah, that's right.
But this one, I mean, it's cool. I mean, Kyle shows up and he doesn't know what's going on and he ends up to
snake in these pants from some hobo. It's just chilling in the alley.
Of course, there was a bunch of, I mean, now with the internet and memes,
I remember seeing a meme of him of Kyle, Kyle, Kyle Reese.
standing there and it's like
he goes remember
he was he was free balling it
in some hobo's pants
the entire film
because we never see him grab underwear
so but
and in these days as well man
I mean
I guess locks were quick
and easy to just bust open
and go into department
stores
but I think this
I think it was like a goodwill
type of store
but I was like, okay, they have whole shoe racks of the new Nike's.
Because at that time, these ones just came out.
And they, I don't care what anyone says.
Those, that shoe style flew off the shells because of this movie.
I kept trying to get my mom to get me some, but she said, you don't need those.
And I'm sure they're not as expensive as Nike.
today but I mean every now and then I see them somewhere somebody selling selling a
pair but they want some crazy amount of money and they I don't know what they were
called but they people call them the Terminators but before all that I mean when
Kyle runs up on the the cop because when he's a putting his pants on some cops
roll up and then they start chasing him then he kind of rough houses him a little
it and takes his gun but then he wants to know uh what's the date and a guy just starts telling and then he goes
what year and he goes what so Kyle he just kind of realizes maybe this is it but they're not really
sure but I mean they knew the they knew the year because they were saying that um later on when
he's talking about they weren't really sure where she was but they knew the date and year of where
they could find her that's what
what he tells the cops later on.
But yeah, when he goes running through this department store,
he just grabs his jacket and the shirt and grabs those pair of shoes, no socks.
And I don't care what you guys say.
If you guys run around with no socks on, I'll give it to you.
Because when I run around with no socks and my shoes on, I get blisters.
And this guy was doing plenty of running.
And after he gets out of there, but really quick again with the shoe scene.
He's hiding in the, I guess, a dressing room.
But when his foot comes down and he has those knikes on and he,
he tightens the strap.
The first time I saw that, I came in right during this part when he was basically busted into the store.
But me and my brother ran and kind of found a seat and sat down.
And then right when he put those shoes down, everybody, this was a, this is a hood theater.
So plenty of talking to the screen.
smoking, drinking, all that went on in our local theater.
Can't do that today.
But when those shoes came down, everybody was going,
whoo!
Like just look at those shoes!
And I'm sure everybody ran to the shoes store to buy these,
but my mom said, nope.
Did you ever have a pair of these shoes?
No, I'm actually looking at for them right now.
I mean, no, you know how much they are.
But of course, these are the days,
cops didn't lock their guns or their doors in the police cars
because he just slides right up and grabs that shotgun
and it just runs out into the
the downtown streets of L.A.
These are called the Nike Vandal High.
What are they going for?
I looked them up.
183?
Oh, those aren't the ones.
Hmm.
This person is selling one for $2,000.
You can forget that.
Oh, here they are.
I don't know.
These are the ones that they say from Genesis, the movie.
Not screen used, but...
1600.
The fuck out of here.
All right, this guy's got...
This guy's...
This kind of looks like them.
How much is this full song for?
Hmm. Sorry, everyone.
$950.
Hell no.
But, all right.
For you, uh, shoeheads.
I mean, I'm sure you guys already have a pair, but.
No, I can't do it.
I can't justify dropping that much.
Yeah, I'm looking.
The ones that look like the ones from the movie are fucking ridiculous.
The most I see on this is 2000.
Hell no.
But back in those.
days in 1984 they were
maybe 40 at the highest
maybe
people don't believe me when the
the Jordan ones came out
when they were the the red
the red and black and the
the blue and black ones
I got those for those you to remember
Copeland sports
off the rack two pairs
two pairs of Jordan ones
red and black blue and black
20 bucks for
two pairs.
People don't believe me, but for you old schoolers that do remember that, man, it was,
ah, 80s were the best.
And what did I do?
I just skated those things and tore them to hell.
Now they're worth a crazy amount of money.
Anyway, that's enough for the shoe returns.
But if I had that kind of money just to blow money falling out of ass, hey,
if Nike's listening, you guys, you want to send Brian and I a pair of these, we'll take them.
And we'll wear them.
What movie shoe would you want the most?
These.
I've had this conversation before.
I was always a fan of it.
I always wanted them.
I mean, I wanted them back in 84, but my mom said no.
And people always bring up the...
Back to the Future.
Yeah, the Back to Future two ones.
Those Nikes.
Those look cool, but I'm...
I've seen them.
I've seen them before.
I've seen the real ones and not the screen-used ones,
but the real ones and the knock-off ones.
I was at New York Comic-Con one year,
and I guess it was an anniversary for the second one
because they were, I tried to get one.
They were selling the futuristic Pepsi
and the bottles that I had when he went into,
was it Club 80s or whatever that?
Pepsi Perfect.
Yeah, oh, fuck, I wanted that, man.
it sold out hell fast
but
these yeah
I mean I'm thinking of shoes
and not just because we're watching this movie
but I would want these
what would you want?
I'm trying to figure
with neither these
I kind of always
one of the alien stompers
oh those Reebok ones
yeah
I know last year
or neither last year of the year before
Rebock was
selling them for the anniversary
for Alien Day.
Let me see.
Okay.
They were
the Reebok BB 4,000.
No, no, these are the ones from Romulus.
What are the ones from aliens?
Because I remember when we're seeing Romulus
and they had them, I was like, oh, those are cool.
Hmm.
I assume these.
High top ones?
Yeah, they're like super high top.
Yeah, the Reebok stompers.
Hmm.
Did they make them just for Alien?
Because I don't know back then, but I know when they re-released them, it was for the anniversary.
Hmm.
Because I don't remember ever seeing them, like, in the stores or...
Hmm.
Yeah, those are a little too high.
As in high tops, that's...
I'd wear those ones from Romulus.
I did like those.
Those ones were cool.
I guess eventually we'll tackle the Alien series.
Alien Earth, man,
I figured they would have been hyping up
the second season at Comic-Con.
I didn't see nothing down there for it.
They've been nothing up at Comic-Con.
Yeah, dude, seriously, man.
They...
One of the big movies other than Doomsday
and Space Balls 2
I don't remember
really
well I guess whatever that new avatar
not Avatar James Cameron's avatar
that the animated movie
yeah I guess they were
they hyped that up
I don't really remember anything else
I thought they would do something
about the new Carrie series
but they had like a small little panel
that was it they did
I went to that
um
friend of mine
I was looking for her.
She goes, I'm in the carry panel
and ballroom 20, so I went up there
and I just walked right in.
And I sat through all that.
That was really cool.
I mean, it looks cool.
I mean, but how many times do we need
to remake a carry?
But the only reason I'm watching it
is because of Amber Midthunder.
She was in it.
Yeah, they said they're going more deeper
into the book.
Yeah, that's what they're saying.
I heard the destruction is going to
not just be the school, it's going to be
the town, too.
because Mike Flanagan
I mean for those of you that ride his nuts
I mean he's good but I don't
ride and die
for him I mean I'll just wait until I see
the series
but that was kind of the main reason I was in there
because Amber Middunters in it
so but when they
when it was over
when everyone's leaving the
panel they gave out these
small little carry posters
with whoever carry is
I got one
And I was
If you guys
Listen to
Horror Returns already
I went to that
Film Festival
In Oklahoma
And Amber Midthunder
was there
They weren't giving out
Amber Midthunder
posters
They weren't given out
Nothing
Well they gave you
Pets of paper
You can get her
autograph
But some people
Did bring things
I brought
My prey
4K
So she signed
The slip cover
And the
The actual
cover for
The 4K
Blu-ray
Signed that
I had my
funco pop of naru i just had the box um i took that and i full i kind of flattened it and then she signed
that and i had a poster tube and i pulled out that carry poster and i said is it cool can you
can you sign this she was like oh my god you got one i said you didn't get one she went no and then
her mom and dad were standing right there she was like this is the posters they gave out of comic con
and they were like wow and they go you got that there i was like yeah and then we had this
big old conversation about it.
But she was like, oh man, I was willing
to give it to her. I said, do
you want it? And she's like, oh, no,
I can get one. I can get one. I went, okay.
So, but she signed it and now
I need to get a frame for it and hang it here in the
studio. But anyway, back
to Terminator. Enough
of the shoes and other things.
Have we done Predator?
Any of them?
I don't
think so.
I guess we're going to fall down that one,
that whole. There's hell of
Predator movies. And the AVP
ones. I hear they want to do a
third AVP movie. I hope
so because the way that second one ended
they led off to there was going to be more.
Yeah, they said it's going to be
nothing like the first two.
I don't care. I mean, just
give me more. I thought it was a good idea
to throw those.
I liked the second one
more than the first one. But anyway,
but yeah,
We're introduced to Linda Hamilton, Sarah Connor.
We just kind of see her hauling down the street and her little Honda elite scooter.
For those you to remember those.
I think it was an elite.
Anyway, she's just doing her thing.
She's a waitress and she just goes to work.
But then we finally, we get Arnold in all his glory, his little punk rock wear.
His little, I think it was an army jacket with just like chains and studs.
added to it but he kind of rolls up and uh steals a car and i like how he just bust the window
and then he grabs the uh the little thing around the steering wheel just tears it off and
starts it up at this point when i was first watching this movie i was like
i didn't know what the terminator was we didn't we didn't know he was a robot i must have
never really been paying attention to trailers or tv or anything because i really when we
sat down. I didn't even know what this movie
was about. So
I just knew Arnold was in it.
So I was like, alright, cool.
So, yeah, we see some more stuff
of Sarah working in the
restaurant and everything. So we're just kind of doing
some little character development.
But then we get the
terminary. He rolls into the
gun store
with
the legendary Dick Miller.
And in these days,
I
well right where I'm at there's gun stores everywhere
I assume maybe back in these days
they had them everywhere I mean is there gun stores in Alaska
oh yeah there's a bunch of them
because I'm trying to think
if there was gun stores in Oakland I
I would I don't remember
now are there gun stores like there were in Commando
Oh hell no
the secret back room with the rocket launchers and shit.
We've done that, haven't we?
Yeah.
All right.
I know me and Theo and I, we did it for East Society.
We did a commentary for it.
I don't care what anyone says.
I mean,
uh,
I love this film.
Oh,
I'm trying to think of my favorite Arnold film.
He's done so many.
Commando's my favorite.
Yeah, I would say,
I would say,
Commando, Terminator being second.
then Conan. It's got that same
music as 48 hours.
Yeah.
Steel drum music.
That movie's just goofy
off the wall, but man, is it good.
For those of you that haven't seen Commando, if you haven't seen it in
a while, definitely
seek it out, I'm sure it's streaming somewhere.
But yeah,
when Terminator rolls up
in there, man,
this was the movie where
this was the first time I had seen
the
the laser sightings.
I thought that was really cool.
Because after this movie, then it was everywhere.
Not as bad as Rick the Pricks
pistol in
Yeah, bang.
Yeah, Jason lives.
That one was huge.
That was like a big old giant flashlight.
This one was as long as the,
as pretty much the whole gun.
But,
now when you see
these little laser sighted, they're super
small. I mean, you can get a pin
that does that.
But at this time
when we see it, I was like,
damn, I just thought this was amazing.
Never shot a gun with one of these little
laser things on it.
But I just thought it was sweet,
man, just to see it.
I mean, they've used
them to death in just about every action,
especially after this one.
I mean, but when he goes in there and just starts grabbing guns.
And I guess back in these days, you can buy Uzi's and your local sporting goods store.
Oh, yeah.
There was a, well, there's still a store in Reno, Nevada.
It's right on Kittki.
I think that's the street.
There's a sporting good store when there's guns in there.
I was a little kid.
I went in to know my cousin.
rest in peace heavens we love you
we love you when we miss you
but I remember seeing
the rifles and everything
and there was an M16
with a rocket launcher
the attachment on it
I don't know if you can walk
I mean who knows I haven't been in a gun store
in ages but
for some little kid
I might have been
12 maybe
1112
just to pick up that
M16 with a rocket launcher off the
and hold it going, oh, man, this is awesome.
But did they sell?
I mean, obviously they sold that weapon,
but I was like, did they sell the little,
little rocket launcher or the little missiles or what I mean?
Stuck in it to the grenades or whatever it was to shoot?
I don't know.
Ever since,
Commando,
I always wanted to know,
was that ever a thing?
What?
You just go down the street.
My rockets.
going to the secret room.
Not just bazookas, those little
opened up bazooka ones. The actual
that little square one he had
that had four rockets. Yeah.
Already loaded in it.
I can't beat the 80s, everyone.
But this was a little bit no joke, man,
because he rolls in there and just
the, especially that shotgun, the auto loader.
I shot one of those, man.
Oh, my God.
just shooting the shotgun in general
I don't know I don't I don't like
them they hurt my shoulders I'm just I'm that
weak everyone
but a buddy
his his uncle had one the
automatic shotguns
I said oh dude can I try this he's a yeah sure
dude I almost fell down I wasn't ready for that kick
I mean just a regular shotgun
kick is enough but
an auto shotgun
I was like whoa I almost
I didn't drop it but I kind of
stumbled back that's crazy man i liked how he did this one of course arnold and not as raw as in
the terminator two that one with the when he was able to fling it around uh like a gunslinger i thought
that was cool the double barrel whatever yeah this was no joke man i mean because after he gets
he he wants all these weapons the uzi the shotgun the 45 with laser sliding
He wanted some kind of plasma rifle with a 40-wad range
And he goes, I just what you see, pal.
And I guess maybe in the 80s, they just leave the ammo, the shells right there on the counter for you.
Because he turns around to get the stuff you're supposed to fill out when you buy your firearms.
And while he's not looking, Terminator grabs one of the shells for the shotgun and sticks it in there.
He goes, oh, you can't do that.
And he's like, wrong.
And they just blasts them.
All right.
Another nitpick.
Not the movie or anything is going on.
The,
this is,
I think it's on HBO Max right now.
Yeah,
HBO Max,
I thought I couldn't remember
what I was watching it on.
But HBO Max or any of them,
the Blu-rays,
the 4Ks and all that,
they changed the sound
of the,
the explosion,
the fire when they're shooting the guns
they don't
it doesn't it didn't sound like because I had seen this movie
a billion times in the theater when it came out
and then once it hit cable and VHS
watched it over and over and over
and over so I knew the sound of those guns
but I remember when DVD came out
one of the many special auditions
of this film the first Terminator
I was watching it and I was like
I don't like the way
they made the gun
sound, especially in the later
scene when they're in that bar,
a little dance club.
His Uzi didn't sound right and
everything. I know, it's just me, a nitpick,
but if this, for those of you that
had only seen the ones that are streaming
are on 4K
or Blu-ray or whatever,
you don't know what I'm talking about.
They also did that to Scarface,
which I do not like.
I did not like the gun
blasts at the end in that
one. But again, just a
pick we do scarface i know i did it once but i don't know if you and i covered it i mean
lance you need to get on that spreadsheet yeah or write it down we can do a reroute a rewind
i don't know i don't remember i love that movie but i don't mind doing it again and i'm sure
our listeners wouldn't care either uh for those you that are new welcome but
We got other shows here on the network.
But yeah, he rolls out of there.
And, uh, man, for, well, he rolls up there's his biker, big old hillbilly gym looking dude on the phone.
That's exactly what I said.
He's on the phone talking to his girl.
I guess his bike broke and, yeah, I don't care what you do.
And come down and get me.
And Terminator just walks up behind and grabs them and pulls them off, off the pay phone.
For those of you that don't know, back in the days, there was these things called pay phones.
They don't have those anymore if you happen to see one somewhere because everyone's got full in their pocket.
Yeah, he goes up and there's this thing called the phone book.
I don't even know if they have those anymore.
But we had everybody's phone numbers that were listed, your house number as well as businesses.
And I know we had to go.
We had to fan through all that to find pizza places to call them.
Anyway, he, uh, he pulls that guy away from the phone, but I'm like, man, what kind of biker is this guy to not get into, well, I guess Arnold's a big dude.
So I guess he didn't want to get into it with him and younger.
So, but he does go, man, you got a serious attitude problem.
But then he doesn't even do anything.
I think he just walks away.
But Terminator kind of fans through the phone book and he finds Sarah Connor.
Because at this point, they didn't know.
Terminators didn't know.
They knew her name.
That was it.
But they didn't know other than the year and the city she was in.
Because in the phone book, there's three different Sarah Conner.
So he basically just goes down the list and get all of them.
I'm sure that's what, uh, Skynet.
Was SkyNet the name of the other than the program, the leader of the?
of it all. I think it was the company's name.
No, that was Cyberdine.
Yeah. So I think
Skynet was the, for those
are some of you guys probably yelling at us, but
I don't remember.
Because they said, yeah, this is when SkyNet took
over. So, and then later films.
So I assume whoever
Michael Dyson's
the one that actually developed
the Skynet program.
Skynet was the artificial.
Neutral Network.
Okay. Well, then I assume that's
what got smart. Because
they did, because Kyle Reese does tell
Sarah Connor that
the computers got smart.
But yeah, so he rolls
up, the Terminator rolls up on the first
Sarah Connor, because he just
knocks on the door and she's like, yes, and he goes
Sarah Connor, and then he just
charges in the house and just
pulls out his gun and then
pumps all six shots
into her. I assume that held
six maybe maybe more
see I'm watching this right now and
another nitpick
I did not like the sound of his
he's a pistol
it sounded just
I don't know again I've seen this movie a million times so I
know how it's supposed to sound
but anyway back Sarah's
Conner's at work and her friends like hey you gotta come
see this so she kind of rushes her into the
break room and they're watching
a news brief a news brief about
Sarah Kana being murdered.
Yeah, her friends messed up.
Yeah.
Hey, you're dead.
You're dead, honey.
I mean, that would be crazy.
Someone with the same name as you.
There is another, well, there's plenty of Nez's out there.
I mean, Nez is like Smith in the Navajo Nation.
And we're not all related.
Who knows?
Maybe I am late to some of them, but majority of them.
I've met other Nez's.
And it's, they have no relation to them.
But anyway, we get Kyle, he's kind of just hanging out.
He steals a ride, hot wires it and everything.
So I guess back in his day, I mean, well, they, of course,
taught you how to fight and kill and shoot and make bombs and everything.
They teach you out of hotwire.
But he kind of, he has a nightmare of him.
It's like a flashback, really.
We see the big tanks rolling around, crushing all the skulls and everything,
and we see Kyle and whoever his partner is, another female, one of the resistance fighters.
I think that's what they call them.
This was like the coolest thing when I was a kid, this whole scene with the lasers
and the way they sounded when they were shooting the lasers.
Yeah.
This is what I wanted for salvation.
For those that have seen that, we got, it was way more high-tech than what we'd seen in these, in these dream sequences.
You remember the arcade game?
Oh, the one with the, with the guns?
Yeah.
Yeah.
A buddy of mine, shout out to my buddy Gav.
We went to the bowling alley, and they had it.
And he just had a pocket full of quarters.
And we just kept pumping them in there, just, just shooting, shooting.
I think it was Terminator, too.
I think that was a game.
Just shooting and shooting and shooting and shooting.
And we finished it when we got to SkyNet and everything at the end, which was cool.
It was fun game to play.
They also had an alien.
I guess it was aliens because the gun was pretty much the same setup.
Big screen and you're holding a gun shooting at the xenomorphs.
But it was the pulse rifles.
So I thought that was really sweet.
And I remember we pumped in elementary until we finished that game.
But anyway, but these, these ones, man, it was cool, yeah, man, because we see the, obviously, it's on a set because a lot of the stuff in the background looks like it's on movie screens.
But we do get the model shots and everything of the HK.
HKs are those hunter killer things that were flying around.
I thought those are really sweet.
Yeah, and during the scene, they are a mixture of big giant.
screen in the background as well as models and everything so they're running around this futuristic
world in 20 2029 AD and they're just trying to fight trying to fight all these these
terminators the machines that are coming after them I like how they just jump in that car
that they make and they just start hauling ass or is that no is that during this part I think so
because his partner gets killed.
She kind of throws a grenade
and then I guess she was out there too long
because then the sensor on those guns spotter
and then they shoot her and then she blows up.
So, but it did stop, kind of stop that tank
because they blew up one of the little treads.
Oh, this is the part.
So that big thing blew up, the big old tank thing
and then someone in a car pulls up.
Reese jumps into the driver's seat
and whoever was driving is man's the gun on the back
and they're just hauling ass down,
just wasted wherever L.A. they're in.
And those HKs are flying after them
and they're just shooting and having a big old battle
and then the HKs kind of hit him
and then they flip the car over.
And Reese is starting to catch on fire,
but then he wakes up.
And he's just kind of looking around.
So I'm sure he's having PTSD flashbacks are killing them or scaring them.
I'm sure that would scare you too, everyone.
For those of you guys that have gone through war and everything, I mean, much respect to all of you, men and women that have done that.
Oh, then we're introduced to Sarah's roommate.
Ginger.
Yeah, Ginger.
and her boyfriend Matt
Matt. Matt's just basically
trying to get his
dirty talking.
Is he from a top gun?
Yeah, he was
Slider.
And then he was a dumb guy
from Roxanne.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Roxanne. I remember he was in that.
Top gun.
I hate that movie, everyone. For those years I don't know.
I hate the first one. Maverick was awesome.
But speaking of Top Gun and saying,
Diego and Comic-Con.
Our hotel was right across
the street from
Kansas City Barbecue Place, where they
filmed that scene
in the first Top Gun
movie when Goose is in there playing the
piano singing Great Balls
of Fire. That was shot
there. It's a really,
really small little barbecue place. I mean, the
food's good. I mean, for what it
is. I mean, it's cool, but you go there because
there's a big, huge sign outside.
Top Gun was filmed here, and there's a
top gun thing in the wall and there's pictures from when they were filming there and there's a
picture of um miles teller sitting on that by that piano uh that's in the place from he was
who is he rooster in the second one i think that was that was the name rooster uh mr fantastic
ha that fantastic four i wonder if they're going to bring them into doomsday
they better not
let that one die
well
I guess they could
I don't know
with the multiverse
but
uh
killmonger was
um
Johnny Storm
and that one he was adopted
I guess
I don't know
I haven't seen that movie
I saw it once
when in the theater
and I thought it was terrible
but anyway
they bring him back
they gotta bring Kate Marr
back with her wig
and that
Dr. Doom
whoever he was i don't know what the hell that was
and galactus was a
like a cloud or something
i don't know
uh i know
the theo wants to rewind that one
and i don't know when though hopefully we'll do it before
doomsday comes count what the fan forest stick
uh i guess or however they spelled it
yeah
and we're gonna try to
to rewind the first two
fantastic four films.
Don't you do the Quarman one too.
Oh yeah, shit.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I did like, what's his name?
As Dr. Doom, Victor Von Doom.
One guy from
Knip Tuck.
Oh, the one that passed away. Yeah, rest of peace.
I can't remember his name of Nip Tuck.
For those of you to watch that show.
Shout out to my boy, Courtney. He told me to watch it.
He's good.
he's in that movie before he passed away with the surfer oh he's in that yeah is that the one
with nicholas cage yeah i haven't seen that when you're off to find it but yeah we see sarah
she's supposed to go on a date but uh some guy stands her up so she's like ah so ginger's mad
and ginger's getting all dolled up as well uh matt shows up and sarah's like eh okay whatever
i mean sarah was all done up as well but since her date ditched
She's like, eff it.
I'm going to go to the movies.
So she jumps on her scooter and takes off.
But then we see Kyle's following her, Reese.
At this point still, we don't know who he is and why he's following her.
But then we're introduced to Paul Winfield and the great Lance Henriksen.
What was Paul Winfield's name?
I think it was Lieutenant Traxler.
and
that's Henriksen, he was
Wukovitch
Yeah, how go with that?
If they say his name, I don't remember
in it.
This is before he was bishop.
Right before he was bishop.
So they're talking about, yeah, they're trying to get
a hold of Sarah Connor
and, uh, because they don't, they don't know.
The, by this point,
the first two Sarah Conner
that were in the on the phone book.
But we only see the first one get killed.
The second one, we just assume she's dead
because we never see that happening.
But the cops are still trying to get a hold
to Sarah, but they get their answer machine.
And for those of you back in the day, they do remember answering machine,
especially in this time, in the mid-80s.
That thing was huge.
The answering machine looked like a big VCR.
And for those you don't know what a VCR is.
The VHS tapes.
Look it up.
You have no idea.
For you younger listeners, I don't know.
Because my grandsons don't even know what a VHS, VCR.
I have a VCR that works.
And they're like, what's this?
And I had to show them what it was.
And they were like, oh, cool.
I said, they don't make these anymore.
Well, the tapes.
Anyway, so they're still trying to get a hold of Sarah.
They can't.
And they kind of come up.
You know what?
Because the news is there.
For some reason, they let them roam the halls of the police station.
because there's cameramen and reporters and everything in the police station.
But he basically did,
uh,
lieutenants kind of,
you know what?
Let me get these guys to work for me.
I'm going to go on the news and,
uh,
try to get a hold of this last Sarah Connor.
So Sarah,
she's chilling in a pizza factory and she hears the news story because she hears her name.
But then one of the guys that's sitting at the bar,
like, hey, can you change this?
She's like, no, don't change it.
But then she finds out that two Sarah Connors in L.A. were killed.
So now she's,
really starting to
get scared.
So they kind of do mention
there's a third one and get a hold of the cops.
So,
no, no, no, I'm sorry.
That's later.
But when she,
but they were talking about the,
the Sarah O'Connor's that were killed,
it was in the same order as they are in the phone book.
So she runs over to a phone book
and looks it up as well.
And then she sees,
she's next on the list.
So she's really not sure what's happening.
So she kind of leaves the place
and when she walks outside she sees Kyle Reese
standing there and she's
starting to get all creeped out because she knows
that maybe this guy's
the one that's after is going to kill her
so she's in downtown
LA she goes into I guess
I don't know if this was just some run-down place that they used and turned into
a nightclub or maybe it was a nightclub back
tech noir back then in the 80s
but they go she goes in there and basically
she wants to use a phone so she goes in there and she kind of super loud dance club everyone's in there
having a good time dancing and good old 80s dancing uh and the 80s style everyone i'm sorry i'm a kid of
the 80s but did i dress this way no but i love the style and the dancing i know a lot of people
what the hell are they listening to for these dance moves they were doing hey man we were just listening
to the beat i didn't dance like these guys but uh anyway
Lots of hair.
Lots of Aquinette back in these days.
So she goes over to a pay phone and she calls the cops.
And the music is full blast in there.
I don't know how she was able to hear.
But there's a,
we go back to her apartment
and we see that there's a cop sitting out in front of their apartment building.
But then he takes off and then we see the Terminator.
He rolls up.
Matt just finished killing it with Ginger.
That's nice.
I didn't like that seed because when they were trying to call him,
when the answering machine came on,
he was in there crushing it.
And I guess she just likes to listen to her Walkman while they were getting down.
And back in these days,
I know cassette tapes are kind of making somewhat of a comeback.
and they're starting to make small
tape players again
I mean back these
Sony Walkman was like the rage
back in the 80s and then
all the other people that started making them as well
but the one that she has on
I remember because my brother had one
like this and it was huge
one of the first ones
and it was huge
it was pretty big
it's like the size of a novel
one of those big thick novel
books like a Stephen King novel. If you guys remember how thick those ones were back in the day.
And it had a little strapped. So she's got on, of course, the headphones and everything.
So she's in there trying to listen to her music, making a sandwich, and then the Terminator breaks into the house. Matt is laying there recovering, probably gearing up for round two.
But then he just happens to wake up. I assume he just made me sense that someone was there because he just opens.
his eye and goes, whoa, and jumps up really quick as a Terminator just slams his fists into the bed.
I must just do the pillow.
Yeah.
But Matt jumps up.
He grabs the lamb and goes, don't make me bust you up, man.
And then Terminator just grabs Matt and just starts throwing him all over the room.
But Matt was no joke, man.
He didn't know he was a robot.
He jumps up and he's still trying to fight him.
But he's just getting tossed all over the room.
He's still fighting.
He jumps up, tackles the Terminator.
and you figured he'd have been butt naked,
but I guess he threw his spankies back on
because he's fighting and getting thrown all over the room.
Ginger's still in the other room or in the kitchen
making a sandwich, a big ass sandwich
and a big old glass of milk.
But as she's walking down the hall,
Matt comes crashing through the door and he's all bloody.
Ginger sees him and she starts to scream.
Terminator comes out.
This is all slow motion.
He pulls out his gun.
She turns to run.
and then bop he just pops one in her back and it just shoots her across the room she's crawling
uh for her life and he just rolls up on her and just dizz just empties the clip into her back so
she's dead just then the phone rings and the answer machine comes on and it's sarah so and she's
basically hey can you guys come pick me up i'm down at tech tech noir on pico or whatever the dress
She said, and then, so the Terminator hears all this.
And then he's like, all right, cool.
So he gets the address and then he hauled ass down there.
He finds one of, go ahead.
Question.
So he thought he killed, when he killed Ginger, he thought he killed Sarah.
Yeah, because he didn't know what she looked like.
They just knew her name.
So what was the plan after he killed Sarah?
Because remember after he kills her, he picks up,
like an address book and he just said it's kind of phoning through it then he finds one of uh sarah's
i guess driver's license extra driver's licenses no i mean like after he kills sarah what what's
what does he do well in does it just goes and lives life in the 80s because i guess that's what he did
in um in dark fate because remember when he was pops yeah after he
killed John Connor, he just
roams around. Because I guess their life cells,
their battery cells last a billion years
or whatever. And, I mean, they're,
because in this one, they tell them that the Terminators are
armor-proof skeleton with flesh and blood
organisms or whatever that grows around them.
And they did say that he,
he's going to get old.
So his body, his outer body got old.
That's why we had old Arnold in dark fate.
So, but yeah, I guess, I mean, I thought that too, especially during this one.
I'm like, well, what if he did kill SeraConnor?
Then what?
Does he just roam around until his batteries run out?
Does he stop terminating?
I assume.
I mean, his mission is done, because that was their mission for these terminators was to kill.
kill her.
I mean, of course,
and Terminator 2, we get that.
You got to kill John Connor.
So,
she finally gets a hold of the cops,
telling them,
look, I'm at this place.
Come down here and get me,
and they're like,
all right,
well, you're in a public place,
so just stay there
and we'll get there as fast as we can.
So she's sitting there
listening to this song
that's been playing over and over and over
the whole time that we're in there.
And then we see Arnold,
Terminator,
comes walking in into the bar and the lady at the the little desk or whatever she said hey that guy didn't
pay so the big old giant buff security guard grabs the Terminator but the Terminator just grabs his
hand and just basically crushes every bone in his hand and he falls to the ground so he
Terminator knows what she looks like because he saw her ID that he found in the apartment so he's
walking around just kind of scanning the room he goes by Sarah but she knocked off
her little bottle of water off the table so he doesn't see her.
But she does notice that Reese is in the bar.
And I just assume that they don't search you when you go into these dance clubs.
They didn't even ID her.
No, they just made her pay $450 or whatever it was to get in.
I assume Kyle Reese had money.
I'm sure he robbed somebody and got some money.
He had to pay to get in here.
And all right.
this place, this club we used to go to
every weekend to see live bands. It was called the
Omni and then there was one in San Francisco called the
Stone. And then a bunch of the little
small Gilman Street and all that
type of stuff for you underage
under 18, under 21s. But anyway,
every time we went into these places
to see shows or whatever, man, they searched
us. I mean, hold your hands up. They kind of just give you the pat down.
I want to say there was a metal detector at the stone.
I'm
in one but I don't really remember
but anyway, Gilman Street they just
patted you down. Same thing like I said
to Omni. In this one you just
pay your money and walk in. I mean they got security
there, a big buff surfer looking guys
so
so they didn't
well Terminator just rolled in and
they weren't going to pat him well they tried to grab him
but he broke that guy's hand.
So I assume they just
didn't care
Reese just paid his
his little fun, his fare in
walked in and again he's got that
salt off shotgun under his trench coat
so he's sitting at the bar
Terminator starting to scan the room and he
finally sees Sarah so he rolls up on her
really quick again I love the style
of the 80s for those you old schoolers that do remember
a lot of you guys probably know what I'm talking about
they had these it was like a hairstyle
that a lot of the guys had
I never had it because I always had long hair
but they called them
tails um for those of you that remember that a lot of guys they had short hair but they had the
one little small part in their back on the back of their head and they call it a tail it was just
basically like a long strip of hair depending on how cool you were um i remember mike had one
his was really short short but his hair was kind of curly so it curled up um the only one that
i really remember that i thought was hell of cool was my buddy ellie
it. He was an awesome soccer player. He had cool, straight hair. And his tail was hell long, and he
dyed it blonde. He had, like, dark brown hair. Anyway, there's a guy in this scene dancing his
ass off, and he's got a tail, a little small one, but he's got his little mixing gloves. They're,
I guess you would call him bike riding gloves now, but back in the sleeveless shirt on. Yeah.
Yeah, that guy.
Back of these days, everybody wore those gloves.
I had a pair.
I only wore one.
I didn't wear two.
Shout out to my buddy D.
He wore two because when we used to skateboard a lot,
he used to think that he fell on his hands,
it would protect him.
And especially those gloves back in those,
we bought it to flea markets.
They were so cheap.
One false tear.
But anyway,
there's guys in there dancing his ass off of those fresh gloves
in his in his tail but anyway so terminator kind of just moseys through the crowd walks up on sarah and then
kiles kind of standing off to the other side he flips open his trench coat pulls out his shotgun
gives it a pump terminator walks up pulls out his little long slide and just aims it slowly at
sarah all this whole scene is in slow motion for those you haven't seen this movie or you haven't
seen it a long time but it's it's it's an awesome scene because he just rolls up he's pointing
this gun at Sarah she doesn't know what to do she's just shocked and scared and the red beam comes on basically pointing at dead center right between the eyes and then Kyle just starts just blasting him with the shotgun kind of throws him around and he just keeps pumping him into him Terminator goes down and this is when little Niz watching this in the theater was 84 so 13 at the time
Sitting there watching this film and any man that got shot with a shotgun blast that close
I think he hit him like four times
He falls down and then he just his hand starts moving his eyes open up and then he just sits up
And I assume he just left that his little pistol because he we never see it again after this
But he's got his little oozy under his arm. He just pulls that out and just starts spraying the place
innocent bystanders bartenders are getting hit bar guys that are dropping drinks off rice is behind
the the bar and he's just dizz dizz letting off uh shotgun blasts we see sarah she's running out
the club terminator just open fires on the crowd hit some innocent people then he's still firing on
uh reese and rice is jumping around shooting at him sarah's uh she was running out and uh
One of the ladies behind her got hit and fell forward and landed on top of Sarah.
So she's trying to push her off.
And the Terminator comes walking up.
He loads a new clip, cocks it back.
And then before he can fire it, Reese comes out of the shock.
And boom, boom, boom, just starts blasting him.
Shoots the Terminator all the way out the front window.
And he's laying in the streets downtown L.A.
He turns to Sarah and he grabs her in that classic line.
come with me if you want to live and then we get that over and over and all the other films so she's
looking she sees the terminator or at this time she doesn't know who he is he sees some some stranger
that was trying to kill her and she sees him just sit up he gets up she has no idea she's got that
what the fuck look and Reese is like come on so he grabs her and they go running out the back
the back end of the club out into the alley and they're running down
the street and or down the alley
and Terminator's like
hot on their heels because he comes running
out of the back of the club and he's running
and Reese is running just shoving in shells
into that shotgun and they're
like come on and then this is when
we get the cool
first person shot of
what the Terminator sees
and
going back to my very first time seeing this film
when I saw this I was like he's
a robot and just
blew my mind.
And I was like, oh, this is sweet.
And then, because at this point, we didn't know who he was or where he was coming, where he came from.
So we're like, what the fuck?
So me and my brother, we were just, just shocked.
Reese runs up to his car.
He gets in and Sarah jumps in.
He just starts shooting a shotgun.
And there's a, I don't know why there's a parked car in an alley.
but anyway. So he's pumping
a few rounds into the car. He hits
the gas tank and it blows up.
They jump into their car
and before they can go hauling ass down the
back, it's going, they're shooting, they're
flying down the back and reverse.
The Terminator runs up through the flames,
jumps off and then dives onto the hood
of the car as it's rolling.
And then he just, this part was, oh, I always
really love this part. He just pulls his fist
back and, bah, punches through the windshield.
and he's grabbing Sarah.
How they did this one if you watch the making of it?
They said they didn't,
James Cameron said they didn't want to use
like the breakaway glass because it wouldn't have looked,
looked good.
He wanted this shot to look real.
So what they did,
they had Arnold on the hood,
but I guess his arm was off to the side
and they had like a,
a metal arm that they made.
Put the gloves on it and everything
and then they put it
had the way his sleeve on his jacket looked.
Because we see Terminator pull his arm back
and then we see him as he's punching
through the windshield.
That's Arnold there, but it's that
steel arm that they made.
So it went right through the windshield
so it looked cool.
So we get that spider web effect.
So they're hauling ass backwards
down the alley, down the alley.
and he's grabbing Sarah
but then he gets to the end to the street
and just slams it and
kind of slams into another car
Terminator goes flying off
off of the car and he's laying in the street
another police officer kind of pulls up
and he's calling it in as a hit and run
but then we see the Terminator get up
now he's still steaming from jumping through the fire
his hair is all spiky
because it was burned his eyebrows are
burnt off. I'm surprised
the skin didn't burn, but I don't know.
Anyway, so the Terminator gets up.
The cop turns around, sees him, and
he's like, hey, and then he just grabs a cop
and slams him, slams his head into the car,
and then throws him back. So he
jumps into the police car and
starts hauling ass after
Reese and Sarah. So they're
just bombing down the streets of downtown
L.A. Sarah's
scared. She doesn't know what's going on.
She doesn't know who Reese is.
So he's basically
telling her just fucking listen
to me. And
she's like, okay, so he's like,
all right, so they're still hauling ass
down the road.
Terminator's chasing them.
And this is when
he tells her, he finally tells her who he is.
And then he tells her that she's
targeted for termination.
Sarah doesn't know what the hell he's
talking about. So he's kind of like,
it's all right, cool, whatever. And then
we see Terminator
kind of scanning the,
the area driving around looking for the car.
But Sarah starts talking to
Therese telling her and she goes, I didn't do anything.
Well, why is he after me?
And then he's like telling her that
that this guy's looking for you.
And she's like, well, who is he?
How come he can just get up from being shot?
And he tells her, he goes, he's not a man.
He's a machine.
and this student tells him that he's who he is
and she's kind of like what
and then so they're still hauling ass down
the streets of LA
for those you that know that these streets
that they're riding on
they're really small streets
so I mean I guess
if you don't know LA
so
she's telling them that
he basically tells her it's a machine
it's a terminator it's a machine
she's like a machine like a robot
and he's like no not a robot
lot. So the cops are finally there and they're chasing Reese as well. So he's hauling ass down
the alleyways and everything and he basically tells them like, look, we need to we need to ditch this
car and find another one. So they pull into a parking lot or a garage. So he starts to tell
her exactly what a Terminator is, basically saying that it's endoskele, a metal bulletproof
endoskeletons surrounded by human flesh living tissue
and he's telling her that like look
and he goes these are these models are new
he said the old ones they were able to tell because the skin
look rubber but then there's uh he's like these
these are new we i couldn't
move in on him until he
till he moved up moved on her so he goes
that that's why he was following when
when he first said this in this first film
I was like oh cool and then of course
Terminator 2 we didn't see out of this but
salvation
when we
this was supposedly way before
all this
I was hoping we were going to see those
terminators because they were saying that the
skin was rubber and they were able to spot them
I was hoping we were going to see that
I have not seen salvation in a long time.
When they showed those Terminators,
did they look like they were rubber,
rubber skin?
No.
See, I don't remember.
We'll get to that one eventually.
Everybody.
But that's what I wanted to see.
I mean, listening to all this
and then as the other movies were coming,
I always wanted to see that,
but we never got to see it.
unless they did in salvation, I don't remember.
But he's basically telling her, he does tell her that,
he's telling her, describing what a Terminator is.
And she's like, I'm not stupid.
And goes, I know they can't make anything like that.
And then he starts telling her like, yeah, not yet.
And she's like, what?
And she goes, are you telling me he's from the future?
And he's like one possible future.
And then she goes, oh, and you're from the future.
too, right? And he's like, yeah. And then so she's like, okay. So she tries to escape, but he grabs her.
And she ends up biting his hand. And he pulls and kind of pushes her away and says, look, Terminators don't feel anything. I do. Don't, don't ever do that again.
But she basically bit him because she's got blood in her mouth. But this is when he breaks it down to him.
And they're like, look, that Terminator is out there. It'll never stop until you're dead. So you better just stick with me, sweetheart.
So she's kind of like, all right.
She asks him, well, can you stop him?
And he's like, I don't know.
With these weapons, I don't know.
So we see Terminator.
He's still scanning the area looking around.
He doesn't know.
We see that the cops are in the parking garage looking around.
They find the car that they were in, but nobody's in it.
So they're slowly kind of scanning around, hiding behind cars,
trying to find another car.
Terminator's driving down the road.
He hears over the radio that,
They found the car in whatever, whatever address in this parking garage.
So he turns around and goes to that address.
So Kyle and Sarah, they find another car.
So they get into it.
And then he starts talking to her about what's going on.
And he basically tells her, because she asks him, why does he want me?
And he's telling him, like, look, I mean, the reason he's after you is because we had
this guy that taught us how to fight,
taught us to rise up from the ashes and fight against the Terminators.
And he tells her that his name was John Connor.
And she's looking at him and he's like, his name is John Connor, your son,
your unborn son.
He's the leader of the resistance.
And she's still like, what the hell are you talking about?
So they're like, all right, man, you know, so they how why the car, they fire it up.
And then the Terminator comes up behind him.
And then he just, dude, he's still.
start shooting at them. So they're
hauling ass in the in the parking
garage.
Shotguns are loud for those of you that have never
shot one before.
Reese is driving, hanging out
his shotgun is hanging out the
passenger side because he's shooting
at the Terminator that's in the police car.
Sarah's right there kneel down with
her fingers in her ears
and yeah man. It doesn't matter what kind of
weapon you shoot man. You shoot one of those things if you don't have
hearing protection on you got that loud ass
ring in your ear.
So they're hauling
ass. I assume they're in a big ass catac
or something because it's like a big tank.
They get out of the parking lot.
They go hauling down the street. Terminator
is chasing them. They're having this
shoot out.
They're down
this under these
I guess it's a tunnel
or under
the freeway or whatever.
This street they've used in a billion
movies. So
anyway so they're still
they're driving down the street
Terminator shooting at him
Reese is shooting back at him
it's like a shotgun battle
because the Terminator's hanging out of the window
with a shotgun and he's shooting
and they're coming up to
basically the end
the street turns into a T
so
Sarah pulls in Reese and they slam on the brakes
the Terminator doesn't have
isn't fast enough but he goes
head first into the
into a wall and we see him slam into the windshield
the Reese is trying to start the car
but it won't but all the cops show up and they're basically hey you and the
in the Cadillac so they're like he was getting ready to find him but Sarah's
like no they'll kill you so he just they get him out they arrest both of them
when they pull Sarah out of the car she turns and looks at the other police car and it's gone
I mean Terminator is gone so she's like fuck so
We're at the police station.
Sarah finds out the ginger and madder dead.
So she's crying.
And they're basically telling like, look, this is what's going to happen.
You stay here and you're going to be safe.
We're still looking for that guy that was chasing you.
But then she's basically asking him, well, is Reese crazy?
Because he's telling him his story as well.
And this is when we get the psychiatrist, Silverman.
He's like, she goes, is Reese crazy?
he goes, all right, that's what I'm here for.
So we get the Terminator.
I assume he just went and got some little cheap hotel
or a little hotel room downtown somewhere,
some little seedy, seedy part of town.
But this part was really sweet
because we see him, he goes in there,
he turns on the lights and he's looking in the mirror.
His eyes all busted up because he went headfirst into the,
either the windshield or the steering wheel.
But he pulls out, he puts his arm on his right arm.
He puts it onto the table.
And he's moving his fingers, but it's not really working good.
He rolls a sleeve up.
It looks like he took a shot to the arm because there's a big old, like, hole right there.
So he gets an exacto knife and then just starts cutting open his arm.
Cool practical effect.
Did it look fake?
Of course it did.
we didn't have CGI back in these days.
Not as bad as when he takes his eye out.
It looks faking it before, still looks fake now, but damn, it was awesome.
Yeah.
But he opens up his arm and then we see, we finally see the robot stuff.
Because whatever happened to his arm, his fingers aren't working good.
So he's kind of messing with it.
We get Reese.
He's in the interrogation room.
And the psychiatrist is in there talking to him.
And Reese is telling him where he's from and who he is.
And they're videotaping him and everything.
Sarah, the lieutenant, and whatever Lance Henrickson's name is, Bishop.
They're watching through the two-way mirror.
So he's telling them who the terminators are, who makes them,
whatever year they came from, and they're not even listening.
So he's kind of basically telling them, look, man, we're here to save her
so we can protect the resistance back the day because they do,
he does mention that Sarah is the mother of the unborn savior, John Connor.
so they're just not listening and he's kind of like look because they do they do ask him
the psychiatrist guy doctor he asks three he's like well after you do this how are you supposed
to get home and he's like I can't he goes this is a one-way trip and he goes once we go no one leaves
so and then we go back to the hotel and the terminators fixing himself up looks like he fixed up
his arm because he's all bandaged up.
But then we see him
messing around with his eye. He grabs
the Xanctor knife again
and the editing
wasn't very good. I noticed this even back when I
first saw it. He pulls the
exacto knife up
to his eye, Arnold, the actor.
And there's no blade
in it. And I'm like, that's like clear as
day you can see there's no blade in it.
Then we get the cool
does Stan Winston do all these
special effects because he was like king of the 80s.
I think so.
I just assumed, yeah, I assume it was Stan Winston and his crew.
So we see the Terminator.
He pulls out his eyeball and he's just cutting around the eye.
Basically because he's got to move all that skin because the damage that he took when he hit the windshield.
But it was really cool.
He pulls out his eyeball, drops it in the water, and then he pulls it.
He gets a paper towel, the hand towel.
and starts rubbing his eye, sticks his hand in the hole.
And it was awesome.
I don't care what anyone says, but damn it looked fake.
But again, this is in the all-or-nothing days.
No CGI.
None of this, how they, AI and all that, how they do it now.
I assume Stan Winston and his crew made this head of Arnold the Terminator.
And we see because it looks.
looked it again in 84 looked
hella fake it still looks fake
but it was cool man
it served its point and we were all like
oh my god that's awesome and we see
the robotic eye of
the Terminator so
it's really sweet I love
this scene and this is when
he reaches down and he
picks up a pair of gargoyles
these badass
sunglasses
did I want to
want some gargoyles?
God damn right I did. Did I ever get any?
No.
Now I've got to see you. Do they still sell these?
Why?
Gargoyles, Sun Glasses, Terminator.
Uh, it looks like they do.
Um, are these then?
Heatwave, whoever.
No, these aren't.
These aren't them.
Hmm.
I gotta go to, okay.
Well, here's a pair on eBay.
Used.
Vintage 1980s, first-gen,
Gargoyles, Terminator sunglasses,
ProTech, Inc.
They do look like they're worn,
because they're not the greatest.
But whoever this gentleman is,
wants $149 for them.
All right, this one looks brand new.
See, this guy wants $2904.
$5. Again, I did want these sunglasses, and if I had money falling on my ass, I'd drop it on these.
Because I remember my friend had a pair. He had like multiple pairs. He had the kind of Terminator
wear. Then he had some clear plastic one. He had some red ones, and I think he had the blue
ones as well. Poor little rich kid. Well, his mom and dad were divorced, so I guess they had
to the bribing with their love buying them expensive things.
But man, these these gargoyles, they, they were awesome.
Because I just remember going, oh, my God.
And again, everybody in the theater will, woo, man, those are badass.
And did we see them everywhere?
If you had money, you had a pair of gargoyles.
I never did.
I mean, yeah, they're going for like between $200 to $900.
Yeah, I mean, again, if I had the money falling out,
out my asshole. Yeah, I bought it. I remember, I can't remember where, me and my wife,
she always thought they were ugly and did not like them at all. I said, she said, why do you want
these? I said, they're badass, man, Terminator. I just need the Nikes to go along with it.
Well, Terminator didn't wear those, but, oh man, those are so good. But yeah, man, if people have a
pair of those and they're just laying around in a shoe box somewhere send them to us we'll wear them
anyway so sarah's back she's watching the the uh the recording of it and she's just scared
the uh the cops are kind of into it but the the psychiatrist guy he's just enjoying every minute
of it he's just thinking it's funny so she's kind of like all right but she's really scared and
And she basically asked is, uh, no, before this is when he starts going off.
He goes, he goes, I need to see Sarah Connor.
And he goes, well, wait a minute.
He starts talking about other things.
And he asks, well, are you going to see?
He goes, no, I don't have that, that, whatever, to let you see him.
He goes, then why am I talking to you?
Then he turns and looks at the camera, which he probably couldn't see because it was
behind the glass.
And he goes, you still don't get it, do you?
He will find her.
That's what he does.
that's all he does
he's not going to stop until he pulls her
fucking heart out and they stop
the tape but she does
ask him and she goes
well is he crazy and he goes he's
a loon so they're like
all right so because they ask
goes well what happened
she's talking about the Terminator
and he goes how did he punch through the windshield
and they're saying well he was probably on PCP
probably just every bone in his hands
probably broke and he won't know it for
hours so
she's like well all right well him getting shot how did he get up and then they pull out this
cavalier vests well he's probably wearing one of these this is this will stop a 12 gauge round so she's
like all right so she's tired she goes all right she just wants to sleep so the lieutenant goes all right
well here you can come uh lay on my couch in my office and he tells he goes oh we got 50 cops in
this building so she's kind of like okay so the the doctor he got out just in time as he's
walking out of the lobby, Terminator
comes walking in, and he's
got his whole new gear
on. Got rid of, well, I'm sure
the Army jacket, the little punk jacket
he had on was all bloody
and full of holes. So he comes
rolling in, fresh new shirt, gargoyles.
He even fixes his hair
before he takes off.
And he's got that badass leather jacket.
Do you have a leather jacket?
I did when I was younger.
It just
wasn't my style.
I mean, my boy, Dee, he had a few leather jackets.
And I love you, Dee.
I miss you, man.
But yeah, he thought he was raw in his leather jacket.
So anyway, Terminator goes in.
He wants to see Sarah Connor.
He goes, I'm a friend of Sarah Connors.
Can I see her, please?
And, nah, she's still in here.
And he goes, I just sit over there.
So he kind of scans the room, looks around,
and gives you the...
the famous
I'll be back
and after he said it here
how many other movies
many other times that he
he said
this
this line
they snuck it in there
a few movies
he said it in Commando
because he said it to Bennett
I'll be back Bennett
he said it in
running man
to Richard Dawson
killing
last action
last action hero
oh yeah he said it to
to Danny turned around.
I'll be back.
And he goes, ha, never thought,
I bet you didn't know I was going to say that.
And Danny goes, you always say that.
And he goes, you always say that.
And he goes, I do.
We haven't done that either, have we?
Last Action Hero?
Oh, thanks.
I love that movie.
I know everyone hated it.
My wife saw it.
She said, this movie's stupid.
I love that movie.
I got my Jack Slater action figure somewhere in all my toys.
anyway
so the cop
at the reception office
he's just sitting there
filling out paper or whatever
and then
fucking he looks up
and this car comes crashing
into the police station
Terminator gets out
he pulls out
some kind of
little automatic
machine gun
and that auto
loader shotgun
he rolls in
and just starts
blasting every
that's in sight, man. He's pumping
him up with the machine gun. He's
giving him shotgun blasts.
All these cops. Nobody knows what's going
on. He's just roaming down the hall.
Left and right. Boom, boom. Blassing
whoever he can see. Sarah
kind of wakes up. She's all scared. Lieutenant
comes in here, stay in here, so he locks the door.
But this one scene I thought
was awesome. Terminator walks up to
one of the doors. Boom. Shoot it with a shotgun. Blows it open.
And then we see the
Terminator vision. There's
a cop in there. He's running. He's shooting his pistol at the
Terminator. And he holds up, this is all slow motion.
He holds up the machine gun and just, the cop starts to run
behind a wall and he just starts firing it and shoots through the wall
and hits that cop. So he goes down.
This other dude, I don't know why he thought he was raw.
Run for cover when you see some guy running down with a shotgun and a
machine gun.
Yeah.
He's dead at her, I don't know, maybe five, six feet away from him.
He's just shooting at him and it's not stopping him.
That cop turns to run and then Terminator comes around the corner with a shotgun,
boom, shoots him in the back and that guy just does a dive head first into the ground.
Terminator walks over to one little power boxes and he just opens it up and tears out one of the cords and sticks it in there and overrides the whole thing.
and just all the lights go out.
The emergency lights go on.
Reese is still in the interrogation room.
Handcuffed.
The cop that was in there with him,
he tries to run out, but Bish,
he's only Bishop in my eyes.
Bishop comes running by and goes, hey, watch him.
So that cop turns around.
Reese jumps up, kicks that cop in the gut,
and kind of knocks him out.
And then he takes the keys and gets out of the handcuffs.
Sarah is still hiding in that room.
She kind of gets under a desk.
Terminator is still just destroying everybody that's in his way.
And Reese, he's walking around looking for her.
Terminator is walking down in the hall.
Lieutenant Drexler, whatever his name,
he starts shooting M-16 at the back of the Terminator.
Terminator turns around.
Boom, boom, boom, pumps in a few rounds into the lieutenant.
Bishop comes running out with a,
M16 hey and just start shooting at the Terminator
Terminator turns around
shoots him with a few bullets of the
the machine gun then
shoots him with the shotgun
and he probably just made just turn them
into Swiss cheese
so he's still rolling down the hall
looking for Sarah Sarah's hiding under
a desk
she sees somebody at the door and the window breaks open
and it's Reese he comes in he's calling for Sarah
so she's like he's like come on let's go
so he grabs there and they're running out of the hall terminators running around room to room
uh reese jumps into a car outside and they go hauling ass terminator sees them pumps out a few rounds
at them and uh hits hits the car but nothing so they're driving down the road and their car breaks
down uh so they're they're just going to hide in some little uh sewer shaft or whatever
so sarah's kind of cold and she's like um wants to
know about the future.
She's kind of telling me like, oh, how, tell me about my son.
But before all that, she kind of like, she's cold, so he kind of puts his arm around her.
And then she kind of hugs him in.
She notices, she goes, you're bleeding.
He goes, I caught one back there.
So he got shot, but he said he's all right.
So she kind of, he starts to tell her why she's fixing him up because they took the first aid
kid out of the police car.
So she starts, he starts telling her about her son.
And he's telling him, like, yeah, he sent me here to find you.
The great Sarah Connor.
And she's kind of like, just like, really?
Basically telling her that she was this big war hero.
And she's the one that trained John.
But she's kind of like, she's like, I don't know how to do any of that.
You tell me about something that I know nothing about.
she starts getting up she goes look you're telling me this and i don't want to know it and i don't want to be
uh the savior of the resistance
but he he starts telling like look um
i i chose to come here because i wanted to meet you and he goes he made me uh your son made me
remember this uh this quote i don't exactly remember what he said but basically
you have to survive and
if you don't survive, I'll never exist and
everything. So she's kind of like,
all right, so
they sit there and then she kind of
falls asleep because he starts telling her
about the future and then we have another
flashback
of
of Reese fighting the
HKs and the tanks and everything.
But this is when we
see where
the survivors
of the war.
They're kind of underground.
He goes around.
Oh, excuse me.
They see that this is where
the freedom fighters are,
but there's a lot of the survivors
that are down there, like families.
Kids are running around.
Mom and dads and everything
are in there.
And it's...
I would not want to survive
something like this.
If World War III happens,
I'd rather just get vaporized
because I would not want to live
in a world
like this
with killer robots
trying to hunt you down
and you have no food
or fresh water or anything
watch all those
nuclear war movies in the 80s
like the day after or threads
they were trying to scare the hell out of us with nuclear war
I mean it's still a possibility
but it's nah I'm good
I'd rather have
get killed with the with the blast
anyway so he's just kind of rolling around looking
and we're seeing
it's just a depressing scene
because everyone's just like
we see this brother and sister
sitting in front of TV
and then the camera spins around to the
to their view
and they're just looking at a little fire they made
in the TV set
so he's sitting there
and he just kind of take
in a break, he pulls out this
Polaroid picture of Sarah
and he's just looking at it because he
says he's seen it and he always just
kind of memorized
the picture.
But while he's sitting there
they have these
German shepherds by the front door, they hear him
barking because all these
other survivors are coming in.
They're barking and barking
and they use the dogs because they're the
ones that can detect
the terminators.
So they're barking or barking.
And this big ass dude,
he's a Terminator.
He's got this big futuristic machine gun.
He just starts unloading on everybody in there.
Kills the dogs.
Kills everybody that's in his way.
Is that the only way they made Terminators look back then?
Big buff.
Bodybuilders.
I guess.
I don't know why we got a little skinny T-1000.
a little teenage-looking one in Sarah Connor Chronicles.
The little hot blonde one and the third one.
Oh, yeah.
And even the one from Dark Fate, he was tall.
Gabriel Luna.
Yeah, he was tall, but he wasn't big and buff.
And Genesis, it was, wasn't it John Connor?
Yeah, they made him into a Terminator.
Yeah, I don't remember that movie.
But this scene was cool.
I mean, we just see that Terminator.
He's just unloading, killing everybody that's in this underground bunker.
All the other soldiers that are in there, they're fighting because they're shooting at the Terminator.
This one scene looks cool because the Terminator is coming down the hall, just gunning everyone up.
I assume maybe
he got hit in the face
and burn the skin off of his face
because when we see the Terminator,
we just see the silhouette of him
but we see his red eyes
and he's just walking down
and just gunning everybody up.
Reese falls to a ground.
His Polaroid of Sarah falls into this little flames
and it melts.
But then he wakes up
and they're still in that little
sewer shaft.
So they kind of, I mean,
how ripe does he
smell?
He's wearing a hobo's pants.
Probably just smells like just piss.
No spanky,
so he's freeballing it in those things.
No socks.
His feet probably got blisters all over him.
But then he goes walking out.
And then we go back to the motel
where the Terminator is.
And he's scrolling through
the little book that he stole from
Sarah.
apartment.
Since the Terminator
cut the skin around his eye,
the skin's starting to rot
because he's got flies
landing on his face and everything.
So
this part was hilarious.
He's sitting in there and then
I assume that the manager of the building is like,
hey man, you got like a dead cat in there
or something? And then
we get the
Terminator vision
and it gives you all kinds of
possible answers to repeat
and it's the first one says yes
slash no
and then it says or what
and it says go away
please come back later
and then
he picks one that says
fuck you asshole
so
with Arnold's
accent
I mean it was really strong back in these days
when he said fuck you asshole
because we see it on the screen.
Everyone said,
he said,
fuck you ass whore.
I was like,
wait,
what?
Well,
watching this movie
over and over,
you can make out the asshole.
So that guy's like,
F it.
He walks off.
But he does find
Sarah's mom's address
and Big Bear.
So he loads up
and then he takes off.
Reese and Sarah
find a,
a little motel
side of the road.
She's tired.
She wants to take a shower.
Reese's kind of like,
all right, well, go ahead.
And I'm going to go
get some supplies.
So he takes off.
Sarah showers up.
And she does the dumb thing
and calls her mom.
Basically telling her
where she's at.
We hear a lady's voice
and then we go to
a house where we assume
there's Sarah's mom
and it is.
But we see.
see the Terminator because we see the door
is busted open, the house is all
wrecked, and then we
see the Terminator on the phone
and he's talking in her mom's
voice, her mom's voice.
So now he knows
where they're at. So she kind of hangs up the
phone. I don't know how far
Big Bear is from L.A., but
so
Reese comes back with all this
stuff to make
bombs, pipe bombs.
I already called plastic.
So she's like, all right.
So we see the Terminator hauling down the road on his motorcycle.
They're in their motel room making pipe bombs.
So he's just talking to her.
And she lays down to take a nap.
And he's telling her about more stuff about the future.
And she just can't sleep.
So he's looking out the window.
And she starts talking to him.
And then he basically tells him like, yeah,
I came across.
the future for you because I
wanted to meet you and
basically confessing his love
to her.
Maybe she thinks this is going to be her last
night on Earth or alive
and then she
he kind of gets up and gets a little mad
about it and then he walks over and starts
shoving the pipe bombs into a bag
she walks up on him and
they start making out
and then next thing you know he's crushing it
so
and
I guess I can't
I don't know how far Big Bear is so he's in there
serving it he's hitting it Monday Night Raw
in this room so
we see Terminator
he shows up they're done
they're getting ready to leave and then
they hear dog barking outside
and we see the Terminator vision
he shows up
to the motel
so they're like oh so he charges into
the room and just starts
looking around they're not in there
Reese and Sarah
go out to the front there's some guy getting
in his truck they kind of pull him
away from it he they start
backing up the car Terminator comes out
boom they hit him he goes falling
down and then they go hauling ass
out of the motel
Terminator jumps on his bike he goes
hauling ass after him
so they're driving down the road
and this is another place that's
been used in a ton of films
this tunnel
so they're hauling ass they kind of switch
places Sarah takes over the wheel
Reese is
starting to light those pipe bombs
and he's throwing them at the Terminator.
Terminator is driving down the road.
He's blasting his machine gun but he
runs out of bullets so he throws that
down. He pulls out his little pistol, a little
six shooter and he starts
shooting at him. Sarah's hauling ass down this
tunnel. I don't know how long this tunnel is
but this seemed to go on over and on
and on. So Reese
is throwing the pipe bombs
at the Terminator
and he's got these long-ass fuses, but he's kind of letting them go.
But when he throws them, they, like, blow up right before in front of the bite.
So he's about to, no, the Terminator starts shooting at them with his machine gun.
But then he fires it into the back window.
And one of the rounds hits Reese.
So he kind of, oh, falls over, he drops the pipe bomb and it blows up.
um so they finally get out of the tunnel he's still shooting at him there she's just hauling ass down
the road reese is kind of not really knocked out but he's just dazed uh from getting shot
but uh terminator rides up alongside of him she kind of sides wipes him and he falls and he
he wipes out on his bike he's hauling down the sliding down the road sarah's just
jerking the steering wheel every which way boom she hits a curb
The truck flips.
No seatbelts on.
They're both laying there.
We see the Terminator.
He's laying there.
But then all of a sudden, he kind of gets up,
and then he turns and looks, and then boom, the semi hits the Terminator
and just runs him over all 18 wheels.
He's holding on.
He's just dragging.
And he goes under.
The truck driver gets out, and he's looking for him.
But then the Terminator kind of comes to and then kills him.
so she's uh sarah's in the truck trying to wake up uh reese we see that the terminator is injured
maybe something banged up his leg because he's limping and dragging his leg he gets into the uh
the semi truck and he gets in he he ends up figuring out how to start that up so sarah drags
out wreath excuse me and she starts they're running down the down the road they're on
some bridge and we see the truck hauling ass behind him and uh reese must have got a shot of adrenaline
or something because he could barely move but he's running down the road terminators chasing after him
uh kyle kind of falls down he's telling uh sarah to run uh the truck comes around a corner
she's running on the sidewalk truck's up onto the sidewalk and it's a truck with um i assume gas in it
big old gas tanker Reese runs up
behind the gas tanker lights up one of those
pipe bombs and shoves it into one
of the little pipes on the truck
and then that whole truck is
chasing Sarah down the street
but then she runs
and then the
pipe bomb explodes and blows up
the whole gas truck
so
she runs and dies behind something
the whole thing blows up
she thinks everything's all good
Reese dove into a
a dumpster before it blew up.
We see the Terminator.
He kind of falls out of the cab of the truck.
And he's on fire and he just falls down.
And he's like Michael Myers in Halloween, too.
He's just all in flames burning up.
So she thinks it's over.
She doesn't know what's going on.
She walks over.
She finds Reese.
They're laying there hugging.
And then all of a sudden in the background,
we see something get up.
and it's the Terminator.
Probably just red hot.
All the skin was burned off of them.
Close everything.
Now we just got the endoskeleton
of the Terminator.
This is the first time we actually see
the full Terminator robot.
I like this.
Today, it would be CGI.
But it was the stop animation
type of stuff.
And with the mixture of
live action or practical robot effects.
But we see it.
I don't know what, I assume some kind of metal
pressing place, if they got things that smash things.
Yeah. Did you know this was a Cyberdine on factory?
Oh, was it?
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
So they break into that.
And then we see the Terminator, like his leg is heard
because he's limping.
And sweet.
stop animation of the robot
Terminator chasing them. Some people, even my kids,
I look so folk and fake and phony.
It was good for us in 84.
So they're in this big factory.
So they start turning on all the machines
to kind of hide their sounds.
And so all the little machine works
that's in there.
Things start moving around.
Things start crushing and turning.
So Sarah grabs Reese and Reese can,
he just can't go anymore.
So he kind of just falls to the ground.
And then she starts yelling at him,
like, get out.
So he finally kind of gets to his knees.
We see the Terminator's breaking through the door.
She starts yelling at him,
move it, Reese. Get up, soldier.
and then he he starts moving.
So they're hiding from the Terminator.
Terminator is looking for him.
But then it kind of finds them.
And Reese, he's holding a, he's got like a metal pipe.
And he like tells her, just run.
So she takes off and then Reese starts to fight the Terminator.
He's hitting him in the head with this pipe.
I thought he's like knocked the head off of him.
because when he's hitting him in the head,
like the head is,
look like it's about to fall off,
but it doesn't.
So it kind of just swats at Reese
and knocks him down.
And then he sees,
the, oh,
Reese is on the ground.
He kind of pulls out of one of his,
his last pipe bomb.
He lights it up.
The Terminator kind of leans down to pick him up.
He gets that pipe bomb and sticks it
into the rib cage of the Terminator.
and then Reese falls down the stairs and then
Terminator bulls up.
Reese is laying there.
Sarah kind of comes to,
she can't move her leg because you got a big old piece of metal
stuck in it.
So she pulls that out and then she kind of goes over to Kyle
to Reese, but he's dead.
So she's like, ah.
So while she's kind of crying over him in the background,
we see the torso of the Terminator
of the Terminator. It sits up
and starts
crawling after her.
So it's got no legs,
anything, but it's got
both of its arms.
And so it's crawling after her. So this is like
metal on metal, trying
to skimmy
along the floor. So she's
she can't really run
or anything because she got that big piece of metal
that she pulled out of her leg.
But she crawls into one of the
conveyor belts and it kind of moves her
along to some kind of metal press thing.
So she crawls through it, crawls all the way to end.
The Terminator is still crawling after her.
She gets all the way out to the other end.
And then she flicks the switch and you're terminated fucker.
And then she hits the button.
And that metal press goes down and just smashes the Terminator.
But it got to the very end.
She brought this like, I don't know, gate down or something.
and then when she starts it because the Terminator was reaching out,
trying to grab her.
And it just pretty much did grab her, but then she pushed the button.
And then that whole thing came down,
and it just smashes the Terminator.
It doesn't smash them flat,
but just enough to stop it and just, I assume,
probably damage the battery and the power core and everything.
And that was the end of the Terminator.
We see its eye and its red,
light. It kind of goes out.
The Terminator's arm is sticking
out, but it's pretty much
that's all that's left of it, because the rest of it just
got crushed.
We see that
the paramedics and the police all show up.
They put
Reese in a body bag and zip him up.
Sarah gets taken away in a
stretcher. And
some time must go by. I assume
months later.
Yeah, months later had gone by, because we
see Sarah, she's driving down
some deserted road in Mexico
and she's
doing recordings
talking into a tape and
she kind of looks down and we notice that she's
showing so she's she's pregnant
she's making these tapes for
her son John
her unborn son John Connor
she's got a Terminator dog
that's a German Shepherd in the back
so
so I assume by this time
she's come to terms with everything
the Reese told her was true
she's going to learn how to be this freedom fighter
because she's rolling around with a pistol
in her lap
but she pulls up to some gas station
to get gas
and gas is
$40, $40.40. 40 cents
40.3
for a litro
I assume that's a leader
but
43 cents.
How much is gas where you're at?
Yeah, I don't even know anymore.
It's pushing $6 where I'm at.
Yeah, it's about that up here.
So she pulls into this gas station, they get gas.
We see the Mexican, older Mexican gentleman.
He's putting in gas.
And some little kid runs up onto her and starts,
or he takes her picture first with a Polaroid.
and then
she's
finishing her tapes
because she's sitting in her car
her dog's right there
and basically
she's like
should I tell you about your father
she's like I don't know
but she basically says
the one night we had together
was magic
so then we see that little boy
take a picture of her
and then he starts
speaking Spanish
and she's like
what did he say
and the old man's basically saying look man this this kid wants you says you're a beautiful signorita
um he's offering uh he's asking for five dollars for this photo of you uh so he can take money home
to to his dad and he goes and if he doesn't bring home money his dad'll beat him
and then he's like and he goes nice little hustle kid so he holds up the four uh quattro
and little kid's like see see this little little little kid's like see this little little
boy he's a little one of those guys too
I had seen this kid in a bunch
of other movies I want to say this is the kid
that's in um
uh three amigos
uh let me see
I don't see
who he is in the
the credits on Mexican boy
his name is Philip Gordon
is that him that's in
uh
three amigosos yep
he is
I guess he's in that uh
boogie man movie came out in 2005
and he did
Alf
TV series
I guess Boogieman
was his last movie
that he did
but yeah
I'd seen this kid
and some other things
and he's done a lot of TV shows
so but
he was in the 18
he was in Alice
I don't remember him that
but anyway this kid is he's one of those guys
so she gives him the money
he goes running off
and then he starts spouting out something in Spanish
and then she's like, what did he say?
And he goes, there's a storm coming.
And then she kind of looks away and he goes, yep.
And then she just goes driving off down the road.
And that's your movie.
So at this point, did we know we were getting Terminator 2?
Hell no, we didn't know.
Because we were pumped.
the end of this movie like I said I stuck around to watch what I had missed and then saw it again
the next day but we don't get Terminator 2 until was it 90 91 when that one came out so you do the
math over 10 years no wasn't even quite 10 years yet uh 84 5 6 7 years later we get a terminator 2
um that's streaming on uh Paramount if you guys
have that.
But Terminator, this version,
they never did a
director's cut or extended
edition or anything. It was just
what we got in 84 is
what we're getting now.
Either physical media or streaming.
But Terminator 2,
there's a version, I guess it was called
the Skynet edition.
On Blu-ray, that's what it was called.
But they released
I assume it's the director's
cut because there's
maybe another
five, ten minutes of the movie
that James Cameron put back in
if you guys have seen that version, you know.
He also did that with aliens,
the director's cut. I liked
what he threw back into aliens
and what he threw back into
Terminator 2.
Again, we didn't know we were getting Terminator 2
Judgment Day and then when that came
out, we were all blown
away. And I was super excited because James
Cameron came back to
to make this one.
Did you see the
the 3D version of Terminator 2?
No.
I remember it came to the theater.
It was like really quick.
I was like,
I don't like conversion
3D movies,
but pretty much all the movies
nowadays that are 3D.
I thought they stopped doing 3D movies,
but I see that Spider-Man
is in 3D conversion.
I'm good.
Oh, we saw, I think the last 3D movie I saw was
Fantastic 4.
Was that last year when that came out?
It was a 3D conversion.
And you didn't, if you saw it in 3D, you know,
it didn't need to be in 3D.
But they do that just to get more money at you.
But, all right, boys and girls,
that is 1984's Terminator.
Awesome, awesome film.
Definitely a sci-fi action classic
slash horror if you throw it into
basically is a killer
chasing a killing innocent women
but what are we doing next
I'm gonna let you pick this one brother
all right
um
the obvious choice would be Terminator 2
but now we'll
we'll uh we'll take a break on that
let me
look and see
let me check
uh
Amazon and see what we got over there on Prime.
I'm going to type action into the search engine.
Here, I just push the button, action adventure.
Hmm.
There is a lot of good movies.
We've already done.
We did all the Rambo's, didn't we?
Pretty.
You can't remember what we've done.
Let me go down this first list and see
That's an action movie
I thought
That was more
Uh
Hmm
Alright this is one I haven't seen in a while
It's streaming on Prime
We're gonna go to
I don't think we've done this one
We are going back to
1995
For the Jean-Claude Van Dam
classic sudden death.
I know we haven't done that.
This is the hockey one, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
Last time I saw this was in 95 when it came out.
I don't even remember.
I just remember he fights the mascot.
Do you remember more than me, dude?
I don't even remember.
I won't read synopsis.
I'll wait.
All I knows, it's a.
they're fighting at a hockey game.
It's one of the Stanley Cup finals.
And he's trying to save the world from the bad guys.
But yeah, come back next time for
1995's John Claude Van Damme,
classic,
sudden death. I say classic lightly.
Come back for that one.
All right, boys and girls, that is it for the night.
Go over and listen to the regular episode as well.
And if you did listen to stream,
fiends with
Lord's Dogtown
you guys rule definitely
if you didn't listen
go back and listen
to that one and
Brian and I
will be back with more
but if you want more
of everything else we do
just go to the horror returns
dot com and there's links
to everything on the network
and do yourself a favor
be one of the cool kids
go over to the T public
and get one of the sweet
many of the sweet designs
by Steve Carlton
from the geeks
awesome awesome ones
I have my Halloween
three one or
themed
one
coming and all that
but yeah again
come back next time
for Van Dam's sudden death
and we'll see
we've done hard target haven't we
I don't think so
maybe we'll fall down that hole
as well
Steve if you're listening
man we still want to take up the reins
for where you left off
on your Van Dam series.
Yeah.
They got Van Damned out, but
he's still pumping the movies out, but we'll see.
All right, any game, yeah, sudden death
the next episode.
So until then, excuse me,
you guys be safe out there and party on.
And be good to each other.
