Yo, yo, what's up, everybody?
The horror returns, bonus episode.
I almost said E-society, but same thing.
Brian and I are here tonight.
This will probably be a quick one.
um i've been on dextro.com a lot and i've been finding all these lists if you've been listening to east society
we're always bringing up uh this website so um i think we did one not from dextro but from
some other horror list and we ran down some of those movies but this one is the 10 best horror
movies of 2025.
This article came out back in October, so
that's up to this point, I assume, but
we're just about to roll in the
2026.
24 hours, maybe. I don't know.
But, all right, let's get down this list.
But this is number 10.
This is
the new
Guillermo del Toro
film
starring Oscar Isaac
Jacob
El Dori
and the
beautiful
Mia Goth
Frankenstein
Have you seen
this one?
Yeah
I liked it
I liked the visuals
I thought
everybody did
did their job
in it
as far as acting
but it's
probably something
I'll never watch
again
because I'm not
into these
big run times
and that movie was almost two and a half hours long.
Could they have shaved off?
Half hour, 45 minutes?
45 minutes would probably be good.
I have not seen this yet.
The Zisu saw it, and he told me to watch it.
And just yesterday or last night, Mike was texting me.
Dude, you need to watch Frankenstein.
Yeah, I was like, two and a half hours, really?
it's i mean it's don't get me wrong it's good if you especially if you like giermo del torro you know
it's his take on frankenstein and uh i think he pronounced his name e lordy jacob e lordy
he kind of looked like uh what were those dudes from prometheus i'm looking at a picture
he looks like one of the engineers yeah kind of looked like that and he was a little
superpowered a little bit
but I mean as far as acting
he did a good job
I remember Frankenstein being all buff
and ripped but
he's kind of like sexy Frankenstein
I mean there's been a
shit ton of Frankenstein films
um I don't
other than the OG which I love
yeah it's corny and cheesy but
the one that came out in 94
war when Robert De Niro
Oh, Mary Shelley's
Frankenstein. Yeah, that one was
okay. I haven't seen it forever.
The
Frankenstein in that one
series was pretty good.
Penny Dreadful.
Oh, okay.
What else?
Monster Squad.
Yeah,
I've got to give
a flesh for Frankenstein
Some love.
Oh, yeah.
But that wasn't the traditional
Frankenstein. When I think of
the monster,
Frankenstein's monster, I think
of the big bolt
in the neck and the flat top and the
big thick boots like Herman Munster,
that. That's what I'm
throwing a kid in the lake.
Yeah, I like that type of stuff, man.
But then... Oh, young Frankenstein.
Yeah, that one too.
I mean, shout out to Frank.
from uh everybody loves raymond i mean all these all these renditions of frankestine they try to just
make it a more serious film as as it years and years of it going the old hammer films were
awesome um was it curse of frankestine is that the one christopher league i really like that one
he did a good
job as the monster
and everything
so I'm like
do we need another
Frankenstein film
so I'm kind of like
I haven't seen it yet
everyone so I'm just
I think this was like a passion
project for him
because I guess he said
he wanted to do Frankenstein
and then he wanted to do his take on
the fuck is it
Phantom of the Opera
why not we haven't done that in a while
I think the last one of that I've watched
was the one with
Robert England
in the 90s
I can't remember what that one was cool
we had to do one on Patreon for a Patreon
request the one with Gerard Butler
oh that one the sing
the musical one
I got through that once
And somebody brought it to work
And my buddy, oh, it's good, it's good
It is not good
I was like, oh man
But then again, I'm not
Into musicals or anything
Speaking of Gerard Butler
It was right when
Right before 300 came out
I was at WonderCon in San Francisco
And they were having the panel for it
And there was just like a shit ton of soccer moms in the audience.
I was like, what, what, what's going on?
What's, why are they all here?
What, what are they going to show?
Everyone had Team Jerry t-shirts on or sweatshirts on.
And I was like, who the fuck is Jerry?
I didn't really know Gerard Butler like that yet until 300.
And then when they did the panel, ah, they went nuts.
he was there
they showed us
some stuff of the movie
and then they gave out tickets
for an advance screening
to go see it in IMAX
across the street
and yeah
that was that was awesome
the only thing
the only thing I knew him
from before 300
was a what was it
Dracula 2000
I've still not seen that yet
it's not great
but I think you should watch it
anyways
It's like that late 90s, early 2000s era of horror where they just had good-looking people in there.
See, that's what I don't like.
I mean.
Because it's like a who's who of, oh, I've seen this person in a lot of things.
Oh, he's Dracula in this?
Yeah.
Didn't they do like a second one?
Yeah, I think straight to video.
oh
Jennifer
Esposito
yeah
Omar Epps
Umar Epps
Damn
all right
I'm out
Damn they made three of them
There's a Dracula 2 and Dracula 3
Is it streaming
anywhere
MGM Plus
I have that
Oh man
I fucking forgot to cancel
Stars
And they got me
for 80 bucks for the year oh damn so i'm like well i'm just keep it now so do you have stars
i canceled well i don't know if they care about the sharing the password i'll shoot it up to you
could watch stuff on there but i meant to catch like kept getting emails like yeah
your trials running up because and then as soon as they forgot and i'm oh man
man, they hit me for the 80.
I was like, yeah, fuck it.
I watched a lot on there.
I'm down to the basic streaming apps because I keep paying for apps that people said they're going to watch this and that on.
Then I ask them, did you watch any of your shows?
And they're like, oh, I forgot you got it.
And I was like, I'm paying for it for no reason.
That's like Shudder.
I watch it every now and then.
But one of my buddies, he's on the account.
I look on there.
He's watching every.
thing on good well someone's watching it
i think the last thing i watched on there was good boy
but yeah we we recorded an episode of the horror returns
earlier today and i i said it on there i dropped
ESPN
i only watched those wrestling things i haven't even seen
anything else on there because i was thinking about it
since rural rumble so late in january
i'm going to be paying for a month that i'm not even going to use
I just don't even look at it
I know it's there
so and I did the tag on
for MGM Plus on my prime
and there's a shit ton of movies
I've been watching on there
so I'm getting that
extra $7.
And MGM Plus I don't understand
because Amazon owns MGM
it's just more how they get more money at you
just like we talked about
the Netflix
buying Warner Brothers deal
and they talked about
because I'm just like, well
one good thing is they could just consolidate
Netflix and HBO Max.
No, they said they're keeping HBO Max going.
Yeah, yeah.
No, they ain't getting rid of that either.
It's just making them more money
and we keep paying it.
That's how the world goes around.
everyone gets paid except for us speaking of that you guys want to give us a check man we'll take
that check and hype up whatever you got you know within reason so but yeah frankestine uh a brilliant
but uh egotistical scientist brings a monstrous creature to life and a daring experiment that
ultimately leads to an undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation
i'll get to it when i get to it everyone i still haven't
checked it out. I mean, Oscar Isaac,
he's probably the only reason I didn't
really, like, dive into it.
I mean, he's okay.
He's actually pretty good in it.
All right. Well, I didn't
really care for his character in Star Wars, so
that's me.
All right. This one,
I had just seen something for it today,
so I want to check it out. I have not seen,
I haven't even heard of this.
This is coming in number nine. This is
Presence, uh,
directed by Stephen Soderberg.
What's it about?
A supernatural forces watches a family
move into their new suburban home,
then follows them around for the duration of the film.
All right.
Lucy Lou, that sold it to me right there.
I love her.
Chris Sullivan and Kalina Liang Lang,
I think as I said it, this came out earlier this year.
and I didn't even know
Steven Soderberg made a horror film.
So have you seen this one?
Yeah, it's, um, spoiler.
It's very light on the horror and more on the drama.
That's a lot of things, man.
I don't know if it's on this list,
but I'll throw it out.
We just talked about it on the East Society.
Him.
Where was the horror in that?
I don't know.
i i didn't i didn't like him i didn't either i was like i mean i love it had moments in it
but i felt like the director was trying to be jordan peel yeah and in doing so he didn't like
stick the landing on it and the end completely was a completely different tone from the rest of
the movie yeah i was like i mean i see what they were trying to say
say.
Yeah, but it was just one of those
re-between the lines type of thing, but we're
going to show you all these
supposedly creepy and eerie
visuals.
Yeah. I was kind of like, all right,
something happened.
And, I don't know, it was
maybe if you were tripping on acid or something,
you would have got it. But I was
I thought Marlon was good in it.
Yeah, I mean, it was a different role for him.
Yeah.
I thought it was going to be about him.
I didn't know it was going to be about this other young character, but, man.
Marlon's been surprised to me lately.
I don't know if you're watching, if you watch Bel Air, the serious take on Fresh Prince.
I tried.
I couldn't do it.
He's actually pretty fucking good because he plays Will's father.
Oh, okay.
And again, like this, it's a different take.
Is that still going or is it overwork?
It has season finale.
Ali last month.
Okay. Well,
someone's watching it.
Yeah. But Presidents, I want
to watch this. I have not seen it yet.
Neon is hit and miss with me.
So, I mean, I'll check it out.
Yeah, I say watch it,
but it's light on the horror.
It's more on the drama.
And it has a good twist in there, I think.
And the cast was pretty solid.
Other than Lucy Lou and
what's the other actress
Julia Fox
I think the rest of the cast
was pretty much unknown at least to me
and I think they did a pretty good job
all right
I have to check it out
this next one coming at number 8
I've been meaning to watch this
I know it's streaming
shutter or AMC
plus one of those things
this is the ugly step sister
directed
I'm not even
I'm not even going to try out that last name
this stars
Leah Myron
Thea Sophie
Locke
I'm not even going to try that last part
Yeah there's some names on here
You might not want to try
Yeah I don't even if you can try this next one
It came out in April
This messed up fairy tale
Revolves around the Trouble Teen
Who goes to
shocking lengths to win
her prints. From what I understand, this is
the perspective
of the evil stepsisters
from Cinderella.
Mm-hmm.
So,
that's what sold it to me when I
first heard about this film, so I have not
seen this yet. I don't know
if it can go more like the
story where
they cut their feet
their toes off
or whatever so they can try to jam it into
the glass.
I've seen this. I've seen this. I can't tell you. I don't want to spoil anything.
This is a recommendation from me.
This is, like you said, from the perspective of the evil step-sister with body horror.
All right. Well, I'm going to check this out. I've been meaning to. I just haven't seen this yet.
So you're the first person I know I've seen this. All right.
See, you, if you tell me, yeah, check it out. I can listen to you.
So I'll check it out, everyone. Let you guys know what I think.
of it. Yeah, with this
lady, the link she
goes to, just to
get the
prince or the
ideal husband or
status or whatever she was trying to get.
It's pretty crazy.
All right.
This next one I did see.
I believe this is streaming on HBO Max.
Coming in at number seven, companion.
Directed by
Drew Hancock
starring Sophie Thatcher.
Jack Quaid, Lucas Gage, and a bunch of other people.
It came out earlier in the year.
A cabin getaway implodes when friends discover one among them isn't human,
causing loyalties to fracture the brutal choices to be made in a service of self-preservation.
I thought this movie was good.
I really enjoyed what was happening in it.
And, I mean, there wasn't really much of a twist because you kind of already
know who well don't don't watch the trailer yeah that's how it's like i saw the trailer when i went
and seen something and i was like well shit that just spoiled it for me um i like it when you
you're shocked and you find out something about one of the characters for those of you that
haven't seen it definitely check this one out if you guys haven't seen it yeah i want to
recommend this i like uh sophie thatcher yeah she was in that movie um heretic
heritage
with
the fuck's his name
the oompa lupa
from the new
Hugh
oh
Hugh Grant
yeah
oh okay yeah
the one she was in that
and she was also in
that bogeyman
remake that came out a couple years ago
did you like that one
yeah but
that's more on the long lines
of it
introductory horror like you're getting somebody that's not into horror into horror
yeah because i really liked that movie i thought that was a good one yeah and and heretic that
was hell of good yeah she's been knocking it at the part this one i had heard about it and i saw
the trailer and i was like okay other than you ruined it for me but i wanted to see it but i never made
it out to theater once it started streaming on um HBO i checked it out and i liked this one i thought
it was a really good film as far as horror i wouldn't go down that hole but um it has little
elements in there yeah i mean i've said this before on this show and in our show a lot
they're really pushing this horror quotes well i i honestly i don't know what horror is anymore
because we had some feedback on i don't know if it was a recent episode but somebody was saying
sinners was wasn't a horror movie
it was sold to me
as a horror movie as a vampire film
did we get that yes we did
but I wanted that through the whole thing
not to say I mean
it was an awesome film I loved it one of my
favorite films of the year but to say it's not
horror it was it was a horror film and then they also said
what was the feedback I think this says
sinners is not a horror movie
matter of fact it's not even a good regular movie
can't please everyone
I mean listen to east society
listen to me with some of this shit
I just talked about a movie today
which I thought was cool
it was I saw it on one of those
must watch horror movies of this year
and I saw it was streaming on
Hulu or something
descendant
it was a good film
really good film it was a think
it was a sci-fi more of a sci-fi mystery thriller type of thing drama
they kept saying it's a horror film I'm I'm like okay when's the horror element
keeping in coming in it was a really really good film but I was just like
stop throwing horror speaking of Jordan peel get out to me me personally I did not
think that was a horror film it was a good film I loved it
But, I mean, they're pushing it on horror.
To me, that is a horror movie.
It's horrific on what they're saying in it and what's going on.
But when you say horror, to me, I want slasher.
I want blood.
I want killers and this and that and everything.
I want Frankenstein.
That's why we have subgenres, because Frankenstein wouldn't even be in the same.
realm is a slasher movie
I mean
but when I'm sold Frankenstein
I'm thinking of the old black and white
monster movies that I saw
that I grew up watching
I mean you watch them now they're not even scary
at all
Frankenstein Dracula the mummy
creature for the black lagoon still scares me
because I think
the reason why horror movies ain't scary anymore
is because they're not trying to push
the boundaries they're trying to
get as many people
as they can to watch it.
A lot of them are trying to make you think
and then they try to just gross you out
with however they can kill
like the terrifier films.
I really love the first one.
Second one is probably my favorite.
But the third one,
I was like,
okay,
we just want to see how bloody
you're going to get.
And then this fourth one
or whatever is coming.
I mean,
they just seem to be pushing the envelope.
Same thing with the soft films.
I love them all.
but you just want to see how people are going to die how what's what's going to tear their bodies
apart or whatever that's all you want to see yeah i mean friday 13th me too man i mean
you just want to see the kills and everything you want to see jason do his thing
but we get another movie i don't know i'm still waiting for this fan film one that's supposed
to be coming out we'll see what they're going to do with this crystal lake show
or whatever, but I don't know.
At this point, I've said this
about tons of movies, just entertain me
and I'll enjoy it.
Like this one, a companion. It was a really
good story, and I got a lot of,
I got entertained by it.
And Sophie Thatcher's a plus.
She's a cute young woman.
And I like a Jack Quaid,
son of Randy Quaid.
He was killing me in this movie.
So, I don't want to go to it.
I like him.
because we've seen him play the good guy yeah and we've seen him play the bad guy he was an
asshole in this one yeah and spoiler we's you know he he was ghost face in one of the screen
movies oh what was it the fifth one i don't know they're all but then we we've seen him play the good
guy and uh what's that one that he came out the little action comedy where he couldn't feel pain
Oh, uh, the Novocaine.
Yeah.
I wanted more in that one.
For what I got it, it was all right.
Yeah.
So, but coming in number seven, companion.
Check it out.
It's an awesome film.
This one, this next one, I need to finish it.
I was tired and I fell asleep and didn't see the end.
But coming in at number six, this is Dangerous Animals, directed by Sean, what, Brian?
Baby Shark, do, dude, dude.
do do do do it stars
uh hassy harrison
jai courtney
josh houston
and some other people
a surfer finds herself abducted by a human
predator who uses sharks as a weapon
but refuses to go down without a fight
i know you guys did this one what did you think of this one
i liked it
uh it was a movie where
jai courtney finally got to be jai courtney
he didn't have to do no accents he can just be himself and i i like this
version of a serial killer that uses a shark
and he was doing the crazy baby shark song
i don't know why i love that scene where he just got everybody to hold hands and he
started doing the baby shark song and to me i'm like
why are they not why is a red flag not popping up this guy is crazy get out of here
and um yeah and i think i think this one's on shutter
yeah it's it was a shutter exclusive so i mean what i remember what i saw i liked what
was happening i mean i know there's a billion shark movies but uh has some just crazy
dude kidnapping people and feeding them to dangerous animals
yeah i liked what was going on in this one i again i need to finish it i didn't see
how it played out so
but um
it was kind of
a quick into the point thing
you know what's going to happen i mean you know what's going to happen i mean
trailers nowadays every
spoils the hell out of everything so you know
you know what you're getting into you know they're
getting kidnapped and
all hell is going to break loose so
but yeah same director of that one movie
uh the devil's candy
i don't think i see that one
the one with the the guy
from Can't Hardly Wait
Temple's Candy
Yeah I think we talked about this one a while ago
Oh
Oh okay
All right I had to
Look it up
Yeah he directed that one
He directed the I think
What's it called the loved ones
About the girls
Her and her father kidnapped her
Guy she wanted to take the prom and like torture him
Yeah
this is streaming on
emc plus
yeah that guy
it's a pure Taylor Vince
oh with the eyes
yeah he's he's a weirdo
and Ethan Emory
he's in it
I'll have to check this one out again
I'm completely
He was supposed to give us an interview one time
Ethan Embury
I remember when
Were you standing in
When me and Lance were talking to him?
No, Lance was telling me about it.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, he said, yeah, yeah, man.
Just get a hold of his people or whoever.
Yeah, I think we tried, and they were like,
we don't know what you're talking about.
I don't know.
We'll see.
He's always at cons.
I don't see why they can just give you a quick one.
Yeah, I just showed my daughter
can't hardly wait for the first time.
I love that movie.
Yeah, she loved it, too.
And her thing was like,
there's so many people popping up in a movie.
Mike Dexter.
Brophy.
Sulture Boys.
Oh, when I met that guy,
I don't know his name.
This was one during the Twilight craze.
Mike Dexter, whatever his name is.
It was him and the other big dude from,
twilight oh
kellen lutz yeah that guy
he was in what nightmare at elm street
yeah he was in that horrible
expendables three
that's right he wasn't there
he was the motorcycle guy that
that was his that was his specialty
well uh we
just got there we just checked in we're gonna go
out and get the party started so
we walked outside
into the hallway and I was waiting for
Theo and Joel
And I was standing because they're laughing and I was like, yeah, let's go, let's go.
I was like, cool.
So I walked outside into the hallway and nobody was there.
The door shut.
And I was like, fuck where is everyone?
So I was standing or waiting.
And I saw two guys walking down the hall in the corner of my eye.
I didn't even really look at him.
But as they got closer, I kind of turned and looked.
And I went, holy shit, Mike Dexter.
I didn't know his name.
He was, that big dude started laughing.
He went, oh, dude.
He went, hey, man, how you doing?
I said, dude, I'm sorry, man.
I don't really know your name.
I know you're in Twilight and all this and you two.
And they're like, oh, yeah.
Then they told me their names and shook hands and how you guys were ready to party and all this.
And I was like, hell yeah.
Took pictures.
They were really cool guys if you guys ever get to me.
Yeah, I would have said, a man, duh.
I don't know why I mean.
My daughter just been saying that since that movie.
But he was a cool guy.
He was not an asshole.
That's cool.
Yeah, number six, dangerous animals.
again with the horror coming in number five a good film horrific stuff in it the long walk
I love this movie yes I did too directed by Francis Lawrence starring Cooper Hoffman
David Johnson Garrett wearing Luke Skywalker Mark Hamel and a bunch of
other people in it.
This movie was depressing
for beginning to end.
I had never rooted
for so many different people to win
in a movie.
It was
crazy. As part of a nationwide
contest, 50 teenage boys
must walk nonstop
at three miles per hour
or above. Fall below
that pace and you're executed.
While the last boy walking
wins, riches and
the granting of a wish
yeah
this one man
I mean yeah they start off
and
I think
the key to this
is don't get to know everyone
because as they're walking along
yeah they want to talk I mean if nobody was
talking it would be boring
because one of my friend goes man this movie was so boring
all they were doing was walking
I went
the tie it's in the
title yeah i mean it was it was the dialogue the the relationships that was being built that
drew me to this movie like i said i i was rooting for i knew only one person could win yeah but there
was like four or five six different people even even one of the asshole kids once we get to
reveal why he he's in it i was like oh man i kind of want you to win too
But yeah, I mean, they were like assholes
to each other, but then they were kind of like redeeming
themselves. Yeah, the three musketeers.
Yeah, I mean.
Which that brought a little humor to it
because there was four of them.
And then like a fifth guy was like, I'm in too.
And they were like, no, it's too many.
The one kid, uh, Hank Olson, he was number 46,
uh, Ben Wang.
He was just like, yeah, trying to be cool with everyone.
But then, spoiler alert.
um when he was like just you knew he was just going to drop at any moment because they they
don't get to sleep or anything they just got to walk and walk until there's one person standing
and i was liking him and i was i was dread like trying to be second to the end before you
die we already know who's going to finish it oh you're talking about karate kid yeah him man
I felt so sorry for you.
Oh, and just a little
spoilers, everybody.
Just the little details to his character
that he was eating
Clementine.
Yeah.
And then you find out he was married
and his wife was named Clementine.
I was like,
and I didn't even realize
until I was like
looking up stuff about this movie
that that was Philip Seymour Hoff's son.
Oh, was it?
Yeah, the main guy, right?
Yeah.
it was it was a depressing thing and to see mark hamill in this type of role i mean if you know
his political stance on everything i was i think that was one of the reasons why he did it it was
because his disapproval of the other side and what's his name is one of my new favorite actors
david johnson which oh yeah the one from alien romulan
yeah uh andy i loved him in that movie he was the all star in that one yeah he was
pete in this one oh i mean again this movie was so depressing
because you know there can only be one winner and when it got down to the end i was like
oh my god but the part they really got me was um the native guy uh i think he was
collie parker he was number 48 uh joshua when he took the gun
Yeah, Joshua Odd Jack. I think that's what he said his name. He was in Welcome to Derry. He was one of the main native guys in that one.
Oh, the nephew? Yeah. Oh, man, when he went out and right before they got him and then he started singing, he was singing a native song. And I was like, oh, my God. I didn't, I didn't recognize him until he, spoiler alert, he met his demise.
I was like, oh, shit.
This movie was just rough.
The kid that gets his legs run over by the tank.
Oh.
And they're still like, you have 15 seconds to whatever.
This is your final warning.
And I'm like, final warning, he can't fucking walk.
I know.
It was just, they do.
You could not do anything but walk.
I mean, if you have to piss, you better piss while you're walking.
Isn't that one guy that had to.
had the shit.
Yeah, and I just happened to, like,
because I watched this with my daughter,
and I was like, what did they need to take a shit?
And then the guy was, like, pulling his pants down.
I was like, oh, okay, they're answering it right here.
Yeah, and I'm like, he didn't even get to wipe, man.
I was like, oh, my God.
It was rough, man.
It was a rough movie.
I went, I seen it by myself.
And I was like, oh, my God.
This is just so depressing.
But you know what you're getting into before you see the,
film so but it was a really really good film i mean i highly recommend this one i do agree with you
it's not horror it's gonna start streaming on stars uh i think sometime really soon i think next
week yeah so i want to watch it again i only just saw the one time in the theater so
but yeah check out the long walk coming in number five all right this next one oh man this one was
this is a lot to get through coming at number four
bring her back oh this was a rough one too oh man uh directed by the who i'm not i can try their
last names but danny and michael philippo yeah them uh this stars billy bratt
sora wong sally and sally hawkins came out she she was the all-star in this movie
sally hawkins the the foster mona oh i thought the blind girl she
Yeah. This was like her first time out acting.
She was a blind and she's playing, and she's really blind.
So I thought she did.
I thought all three of them, or all four of them, even though the main kid that was in it.
Man, that was brutal.
I mean, these are the directors that brought you talk to me from last year.
Yeah, and these guys came from YouTube.
Yeah.
They got their money from YouTube, made a film.
And from what I understand, this is supposedly in the Talk to Me universe.
I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what they're saying.
That's what the, the story doesn't have connect to talk to me, but it's in the same world.
Yeah.
Two step siblings are paired with an erratic foster.
the family little really realizing they are in a mortal they are in mortal danger right yeah
this one was oh my god it was rough i didn't know i don't look into it i just go and and watch
these films but oh my god it was it was it was rough i like this is a second film out
And I thought killed it with talk to me, killed it with this one.
But oh my God, the visuals on what was going on.
What was that kid's name?
His name was Oliver in the film.
Jonah Wern Phillips.
Man, that little kid, he went through transformations in this one.
That knife scene.
Oh, that and when he bit the counter.
I was like, what the fuck's going on in here?
It was crazy on what was going on.
It was, it's streaming on HBO now.
So check it out.
And I saw the trailer and I was like, okay, this looks cool.
And then when I saw who made it, I was like, all right, that sold it to me.
So that's why I had to rush in there and see it.
I saw it that first night, it came out.
And I wanted to see it before whatever was in it was going to get spoiled to me.
So, but man, this movie was awesome.
Yeah, you have to go into this, not knowing anything.
Yeah.
Because, I mean, the trailer looked cool, but it didn't really understand what was going on in it.
So I was like, all right.
So, yeah, basically it went in blind.
And this movie has some depressing shit in it, too.
Oh, a lot of it is, man.
I mean, it's sad, man.
It was sad as well.
I mean, there's crazy people out there in the world.
And what these three kids had to go through, especially all of her, man.
I was like, yeah, what the hell's happening?
Oh, man.
It's a crazy movie, man.
No spoilers or anything.
But yeah, definitely, you've got HBO, definitely check this one out.
If you're not for blood and crazy.
stay away from it
but if you can sit through
type of that it's
other than the visually
it's amazing and the story is good
so yeah I think
this is the movie because they originally
were going to do the street fighter movie
they were like ready to go
but then they had to pass on it because of
uh
scheduling
because they were doing this movie too
um
Street Fighter will cover that when it comes out
But nah man
They did the right thing
Was to
To concentrate on this film
Because yeah this film was fucking awesome
I loved it
So again HBO Max
Check it out there
And yeah
That's number four
Bring her back
Number three
I seen it twice
I need to watch it again
The new one's coming
in a couple weeks
and this is 28 years later
directed by Danny Boyle
uh
Jody Comer
M. T.O. Johnson, Ray Fines
and
whatever that big
guy's name
that was hanging dead through the whole movie.
Swinging through the movie.
Yeah.
I was watching
I don't know. I think
it was a Saturday Live or some
show. And they were
talking about 28 years later.
No, it was a reel on
Instagram or TikTok or whatever.
They go, you want to watch 28 years later?
And then they show the poster.
Then they just show this big thing swinging.
It looked like a salami or something.
I was like, I showed that to my son.
He didn't see it yet.
And then when he went and saw it,
he watched that little clip again.
He was like, oh, man.
but a group of survivors of the rage virus live in a small island when their group
when their group leaves the island on a mission into the mainland he discovers secrets
wonders and horrors that are mutated not only the infected but other survivors
I enjoyed it I thought it was good this was before I realized that it was a trilogy
I just thought it was going to be another
stand-alone film
like the first two
so I didn't know there was going to be more
because when the movie was over
I was like
wait what's going on here
I mean
but after I left
the theater and I went to YouTube
and I wanted to listen to reviews
is when I found out that it was going to be a trilogy
so I was like okay because we have
the bone temple coming next
this is streaming on Netflix
they already went ahead
and greenlit the third one
well they better
I mean
well from what I understand
at first it was going to
depend on how
well the second one did
but then I guess they just went
ahead and said we're just going to go ahead
and develop the third one
I think I think they should
I mean maybe test screeners
people enjoyed it but
I mean I
I have to see this one
because of the way this one was
left the movie with a lot of questions
unanswered
and I kept telling Theo
I said dude don't
if he hadn't seen this one yet
I said stay away from the trailer
for the second one
I said there's spoilers
if you don't see the first one
dealing with the
track suit mafia or whatever they're called
the jimmies
that's something that has to be
explained in the second one.
From what I understand, that character is based off of a famous TV personality
that was arrested for multiple accounts of child diddling.
I don't, I don't know.
That's one, because we had some listener feedback,
and they were quite angry about that part of the movie.
And there has to be some.
reason that you're
basing this character's look off of
that person.
Yeah, because I had no
idea who this person
was that they were talking about.
So, but
I'm,
this one, it was
okay.
I mean, I liked when it was just the rage
and they're just trying to infect you and you're just trying
to survive and then that
it's been 28 years later
and, uh, well, I,
I,
I like that it's mutated.
Yeah.
So I'm saying,
everything mutates no matter what it is.
And yeah,
this rage virus mutated in something else
because now we got these,
what they call them?
Alpha.
The alphas, yeah.
A big giant dude
that was hanging 10
the whole movie.
I mean, big ass fucking Jason Mamoa
looking dude.
But I mean,
I liked what was going on.
I thought kick ass was
going to be in it a little more.
He was mainly in the beginning.
Shit, he was damn glorified cameo to me.
Yeah.
But I think that kid did an awesome job.
Yeah.
He was the all-star of it.
And Ray finds when him popping into it,
I was like, whoa, we,
you got this big, huge,
did he win Academy Award?
I think he has.
I'm not sure.
You got this big-ass star in this horror movie.
And I was like, okay, his character was awesome.
I like it.
Now that we're going to get more explanation on who he is and who the jimmies are.
And I assume more into the alphas.
And I want to know more about those little fat things that were crawling around.
Yeah.
Those were scary.
What did that mutate into?
Yeah.
I was like, what the hell was going on in this one?
but I liked what was happening in it
it was just
if you saw it and you didn't know there was more coming
you were just like what what the hell it's over with
because the way it ended it just ended
and I was like whoa wait what
yeah with hardcore flipping around
and yeah
complete tone change
yeah I was like what's going on here
then the movie was over
it's streaming on Netflix if you guys haven't seen it yet
so definitely
check it out um i'm gonna watch it again before uh bone temple comes out yeah but who this next one
coming in number two weapons directed by zach is it creaker yeah starring uh corey webster
josh brolin gila gardner alden however hon solo that guy and uh wong and a ton of other
people in this film um but let me see weapons when all but one child from the same class mysteriously
vanished on the same night at the exact exactly the same time a community is left questioning
who or what is behind their disappearance yeah i didn't know what to expect for this one i didn't
really know what was going on at first i mean i'd seen the trailer
but when I saw who directed it
I was like ah okay
you gave us Barbarian and that was an awesome film
so I was like all right let me just go see it
and um
I yeah I saw it
that weekend it came out because Mike saw it
and I was in Oklahoma City
and I had like hours to kill before Mike flew in
and it was like dude go see weapons
I was like wow all right I kind of wasn't really in the mood
to go to a movie
And he goes, no, dude, you got to go see it.
Here, I'm going to buy you a ticket and go see it.
And I was like, okay.
Turned out, he bought me an IMAX ticket.
And I was like, why is this movie an IMAX?
And it was worth that IMAX price.
Because I was like, I didn't know what to expect in this movie.
And this movie blew me away.
And at that end, that ending was crazy.
I was like, what the fuck is going on?
This is streaming on HBO Max.
So if you haven't seen it, definitely check.
it out the all-star in this one to me is um what's her name yeah what the hell was her name she had been in a
a ton of things yes uncle bucks girl yeah and she was in um streets of fire and fields a dream
yeah everything what the hell is her name where is it on here gladys is
dig man to i don't know how to pronounce her last name magd again mad again
okay
she's been in a ton of things
she's been in i didn't even realize that was her
until i really got a glimpse of her and i was like well when you when you first see her
you're like who the fuck is this yeah
she was fucking scary i mean that scene when um josh brolin
was
dreaming of his son
oh that part got me
the what the fuck scene
yeah when she was laying
in the bed
when he flipped over
I was like what the
that part made me jump
there was a few parts
that made me jump
that was a realistic
reaction
that's probably how I would have been
if I woke up
at Julia Garner
I didn't care for that
Wolfman movie
I thought it was
she was fine in this
because this was, I think I said it in my review for it,
this was the closest that she's been to
Ruth Langmore from
what's that Netflix series?
Which one?
The one with Jason Bateman.
Oh, um
The Ozards.
yeah that
somebody was yelling at us
this was the closest she was
to not necessarily
be in that character but that acting
yeah
I was
I was feeling for her
I mean the situation that was going
all these kids disappeared and they were blaming her
yeah it just happened to be her classroom
yeah nothing to do with her
uh-uh and I like
I liked the way they they filmed it
and I like the way they put it together.
Like, every character had a story.
Yeah.
It wasn't like just a straightforward movie.
They talk about Justine.
Then they talk about Archer.
Then they would talk about Paul.
And I liked, what's his name's story?
James, the homeless drug addict guy.
Yeah, him too.
And even Marcus, Benedict Wong.
And dude, that was creepy.
The way he just came hurling over that wall
and he just came running at,
justine top speed at the gas station and i was like what the fuck is going on here so but yeah it was
it was cool there was a lot of jump scares in it um yeah i would say this was this is more like
smart horror or because it was visually and yeah gladys she was she was probably the scariest thing
in the whole movie that part to really trip me out was that yeah james when he was in the
in the woods
when he was running and hiding
from Han Solo
Oh, and she was waving at him in the woods
Yeah, in the bushes
I was like, oh dude, I just got the chills
thinking of that image
I started watching it
I need to go and finish it
But man, they're supposed to be doing a spinoff movie
With her
Yeah, I might as well
Where do they have it listed here as
Body horror, dark comedy
Folk horror
okay
monster horror
there were no monsters
but they were scary looking
Wikipedia has
it is mystery horror
psychological horror
supernatural horror
you on IMDB
yeah which horror
they love to put on the tags on that one
horror mystery
yeah it was like mystery horror
I don't know about dark comedy
but
well I was laughing
my ass off and what's his name
socked the shit out of James
when he got stuck by the needle
yeah
because that again
the second time in this movie
appropriate response
in the face
oh man
he's lucky to get shot
but
I mean the whole archer story
Josh Rowland's character
oh man that part got me
because I was tearing up
because he just was
sleep in his son's room
and his wife was
I was kind of pissed off at her
I mean
it's like she didn't care
yeah she was just going on with
with life like it was just
normal yeah
I was I was like bitch
that was my one complaint
with a lot of these people
that their children were gone
yeah I don't feel like enough
was happening with the parents
yeah
at least they weren't showing it
yeah we were just focused on archer
and then and his story with his son
well i guess it was good that they focused on him because he was the one that did
spoiler alert he was the one that figured it out
on what was going on and where it was because he
well even even when we get introduced to
uh in cameo roles uh sarah paxton and justin long
yeah
there because he needs to get that
well fuck it we're already spoiling in it
they need to get that ring camp footage because their son went missing too they're kind of just going wrong with shit like it's just regular yeah like there's another day so yeah no more i mean again if you guys want to see this if you haven't seen this movie this is one that you have to see you got to see what's going on and yeah it was it was creepy it was scary i mean i jumped a lot i think
think what made me jump more was the there was a couple sitting in front of me really quick
when the theater isn't full spread out you don't need to sit right in front of me and they're
like it could have sat maybe another row down because when i first went in there was me and a
couple other guys and we were all spread out but as it got closer to the movie people started
pouring in i mean there was it was a huge huge i max theater yeah there's only five people in the
theater you don't have to sit in your assigned seat yeah i mean just spread out
you don't need to sit right in front of me i was like oh really i moved over a couple seats
but i was like man i love being right in the center and looking straight forward at the
screen but yeah there was this one time it was like me and my
kids is mom and then like another couple sitting right there and then this dude came and sat
right in between us four yeah he was being fucking weird to the point where I had to ask
him to get up and move there's like 50 other seats you could pick pick one oh fuck that was when
I went and seen um death wish we'll cover this one as well the remake uh the empty theater
Me and maybe four other guys in there.
It was up when I was up in Seattle.
I sit way in the back, maybe second to the back.
I was in one of the smaller theaters, so it wasn't like a big theater.
I sit there in the row.
I sit down in the middle of the seat, and then some guy comes in and sits right behind me.
I'm like, fuck, really?
And then the next guy comes in.
sits right in front of me i was like fuck this i got up and moved i was like i'm not gonna have
an empty theater and two people right in front one behind me right but right in front of me
i was like you guys serious i mean i just got up and moved like all the way to that to the aisle
and just so no i don't i'm not saying anything was going to happen but i just too many movies
so I just got it
but booed
anyway
now weapons
coming in at number two
uh check it out
this number one better be good
because if it ain't better than weapons
I'm going to have issues
I guess we already talked about it
I would put weapons above this film
I mean not to say there wasn't a good film
but coming in at number one
sinners
sinners is a masterpiece
we'll get into in a second
Ryan Coogler
Black Panther
and is he making the next
Black Panther?
Yeah. All right, good.
He should be making
the Blade movie.
Why don't they stay away from Creed?
Don't do that again, man. That last one was...
He didn't direct that one. I know. I was
what's his nuts? Pete Jordan.
the reason I didn't care for Creed 3 is the the final fight.
Just give me a boxing match.
Don't try to make it all artsy and add all these special effects.
I was just sitting in the theater like,
I'm just like, man, you killed it with the first two movies,
but just like a regular boxing match.
They tried to make it all artsy and add this and that to it.
I was like,
uh,
next.
I was mad when I left them.
Anyway,
sinners trying to leave
their troubled lives behind,
twin brothers returned to their hometown
to start again,
only to discover that an evil,
even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Written and directed by Michael,
or,
uh,
Michael Ryan Cougler,
and this stars,
uh,
dual roles,
uh,
Michael B. Jordan as smoke and stack.
a Jack O'Connell
Miles
Captain
I think it's his name
a Haley Sadfield
Yeah
I liked her in this one
And a ton
Of other people
In this film
But
I want to put
Weapons above this one
No way
But I loved this film
But like I said earlier
This film was sold to me
As a horror vampire
film. So that's what I wanted. So I was kind of like,
when's the vampires coming into play in this? But to put that
aside, the story of what was going on in it during
this time in history, I thought was
really good. My favorite scene in the whole film wasn't even a
horror scene. I loved it when the vampires kicked in, but when they were
having their party at their juke joint that they built.
Oh, and the different generations of music.
yeah i was yeah that was i was like oh my god the way they filmed it and what they were doing
it was like a history lesson so i mean you can you can take this film a bunch of different ways
and i loved what they did and then they just ended it with horror with the vampire and there was
little things too that i liked because of the asian couple yeah born and raised in
the south had southern accents and i like that because why would they have asian accents
yeah i mean it was it was like everybody was represented in this one it was really it was a
really really good film but i was just when's the vampires coming into play i was waiting
for all that but i mean like i said this was like a history lesson on what was going on at this time
And I loved it.
I was there for it.
But I just wanted more action and vampires.
But, I mean, again, not to say it wasn't a bad movie.
I mean, I really did enjoy it, but I got a little more enjoyment out of weapons.
Because that was more of a surprise to me.
But this was beautifully shot the way he filmed it.
If you guys got to see it and was it film, whatever millimeter that they filmed it in,
and then if you got to see it in iMacs as well um i saw it here in the little last movie theater
but it was still awesome and everybody killed it in this if they had a good speaking role in this movie
they killed it yeah i thought everybody hey steinfeld's not she's not kate bishop from hawkeye
in this one she is a grown woman yep with the dirty with a dirty mouth
Everybody was dirty in it.
Spitting in Michael B. Jordan's mouth.
I'm not with that.
But, I mean,
it was crazy.
I mean, every day, everybody was going on.
And Michael B. Jordan playing two roles.
I thought that was cool.
I liked what he did.
I mean.
And it looked good, too.
Yeah.
The scene when he's rolling a cigarette
and he hands it to his brother.
Yeah.
It looked like two Michael B. Jordan's
that were really there.
And it was good.
And the way it ended with the scene at the end.
Mm-hmm.
I would like this to be one and done.
But the way everyone's talking about it,
they want to do more, do more of...
I think Googler doesn't want to do it.
And I think if they do a second one,
I think it'll be without him.
they want to go more of a prequel leading up to what's going on i mean i mean if you do or even do a
sequel because that scene at the end that was way in the future well i i wanted more with the
Native Americans
that were hunting
Jack O'Connell's character
Ram was it Ramick
Remick
because you get them for
like two minutes
Yeah I mean that's what I've said
This a ton of times
Listen to us God damn it
And none of this shit would have happened
Yeah they didn't
They didn't care about your clan hoods
In the background they were trying to warn you anyway
yeah man they were like
let us come in and handle it
yeah and you were
being stupid about it and then
his boys was telling him hey
it's getting dark we need to get out of here
yeah fuck yeah man they knew what they were
dealing with yeah I'd like to see
that story on on what
happened to them I mean a lot of these films
man I mean when fucking natives are telling you
this is this is gonna go sideways
you guys better listen to us and nobody fucking listens
What was that movie with the
Wendigo?
Antlers.
Yeah, when they were asking them kids in the classroom
and they were like, we can't talk about it.
Yeah, I'm like, you motherfuckers, listen to us.
It, welcome to Derry.
You motherfuckers better listen to us.
They didn't fucking listen.
They were the heroes of it.
Spoiler alert.
But it was like, you motherfuckers,
I mean, listen to the indigenous people of this land.
We're telling you guys something's going to go sideways
and you guys don't listen and all hell breaks loose.
Oh, man.
So many different movies and everything of this.
For those you that don't know, I'm Native American.
So I'm like, you motherfuckers listen to us.
Yeah, I know I'm not the one to fuck around with shit.
But if I got someone that's Native American, it's like, don't know.
Don't go that way.
Don't mess with that.
Don't talk about that.
I'm like, yes, sir, yes, ma'am.
Yeah, even in, what was that movie, The Witch,
of that part of the land and everything,
they were saying, yeah, nobody goes over there.
Even the natives didn't go over there.
There was a reason why they didn't go over there.
They didn't listen.
Look what happened.
I was like, damn.
This one, too, as soon as I seen them roll onto the screen,
and they were telling them,
they just wanted to go in there and handle it,
and they were like, nah, no, no, get out of here.
And then, yeah, it's getting dark, man.
We better roll.
And I was like, oh.
If you guys would have listened, none of that would have had no movie.
But I was like, it's always the same thing in these films when they bring in the indigenous perspective in it, the representation of them.
I'm like, you better fucking listen to you.
We always know more.
We've been in this land longer and we're here to tell you and you guys don't fucking listen.
And then look what happens.
So I was like, God damn.
Oh, man.
But this movie was awesome.
Yes.
I loved it.
It was again.
Again, I loved weapons a little more, but this movie was awesome.
I loved the way everything played out.
I loved it the way they shot it.
A lot of the scenes.
I mean, I wish I could have saw an IMAX.
Will it be nominated for Academy Awards?
Let me see.
It's received seven nominations,
including Best Most and Picture Drama,
and leading 17 nominations at the Critic Choice.
So seven nominations at the Golden Gloves,
17 nominations of the Critic Choice Awards.
Well, they put the substance up for Best Picture
last year or earlier.
this year
got robbed
well to me
you got robbed
yeah she got
I mean that chick that won
she was good in that in her role
but no she was not better than anymore
Margaret Quali
yeah
yeah it's just because she's the
the new
the new new
no it's because she got all nasty
that wasn't even her body
wasn't
you had a body double
for some of those scenes
I've noticed
as a trend
get nasty and naked
and everything
and you win
Academy Awards
look at what's her name
Holly Barry
know that
and
that one crazy ass
movie with
Mary Jean
or not Mary Jean
she was in the amazing
Spider-Man
oh Emma Stone
yeah her
whatever that movie
was called
that she'd done
oh
poor things.
Yeah. Oh, my God. Did you see it?
No. Somebody told me I wouldn't
like it. I loved it. I thought it was an
awesome film. Man, she was making through that whole thing
getting railed by everybody.
But I got to watch it because
I think the same director did
the new one she's in, Borgonia.
Yeah, I'm going to see that. I see that.
That's a good movie. Okay. It's streaming
now. So I want
to check that. What is it streaming on?
I think Pekar.
I think.
let me see
let me find it
I'm pretty sure
I went in
not expecting to like it
ended up really enjoying it
I just like that
we can't call
Fat Damon
Fat Damon no more
He is skinny Damon
Now
Isn't that
Chessie Plemons
Yeah isn't that
Mary Jane's husband
Yeah
Kristen Dunst
Yeah
streaming on Peacock
Two hours
It didn't feel like
Two hours
Well, I'm going to check this out.
I want to see it.
Same person directed this one?
I think so.
Yeah, that movie was poor things.
That movie was nuts.
It was crazy of what was going on in that movie.
It was a good movie.
My wife, she was like, it was a little too much for her.
I don't know who.
I think it was Lance told me I wouldn't like it.
You get all naked and nasty, and you win a
Academy Awards so
it's probably why that girl won
I mean don't get me wrong that was a good movie
I liked it but
she did not do better
than do me more
that's all but all right
again that was it the 10 best
horror movies of 2025
from the top
number 10
Guillermo del Toros Frankenstein
number nine
Stephen Soderberg's
presence
uh emily blitchfield or whatever the ugly step sister uh drew hancock's companion coming in number seven
sean brines number six dangerous animals francis lawrence number five the long walk uh the philippe philippo brothers
number four bring her back
Danny Boyle's number three
28 years later
Zach Krieger
coming in number two with weapons
and Ryan Coogler's number one
sinners
All of these that I've seen
were good
I need to see finish dangerous animals
I need to see ugly step sisters
and presents and Frankenstein
Out of these ones I haven't seen
I think Frankenstein isn't going to be last on the list.
But ugly sisters, I really want to see that one.
I don't even know if Frankenstein makes my top ten.
I don't know.
I haven't seen it everyone.
I haven't seen it yet.
I mean, my list, let me pull it up.
I won't tell you guys what it is.
You know, you'll listen to East Society.
You want to know.
But I think I have all right now, I only got nine.
on my list
and
some people might not agree with
some of them, but
I mean, but what I've seen
was pretty good, so
we will come back
with
top 10 and bottom, was it top 10
and bottom 10 or bottom 5? I don't know.
Yeah, this year we're doing
top 10, bottom 10, best TV
series and best horror
villain is the new
category.
Best horror villain of this year?
Yeah.
Which I put a poll
in the main Facebook
page and
Penny Wise is winning.
Did you watch the whole series?
Yes.
I loved it. I thought it was awesome.
That final episode got me.
Oh my God.
It got me too.
What's his name?
little Ricardo kid
Oh
Oh
Dude that part killed me
And then the connections to the
The reveal of the connections to the
Movies
Yeah I was
I was like whoa
I mean it was good
It was an awesome series
But my only issue with it
Stephen King didn't write this
Yes he gave
Yeah he approved it and gave them the okay
I want to know if they sat down with him
To
to Lincoln
his stuff with this
I'm sure he had some
input there was a lot of Easter eggs
in it to Stephen King
verse or whatever you want to call it
so
so I'm like
like how much
how much was he involved in it
did they run hey okay
this is what we're doing we're going to run this
is it cool with you
will it work I have
a suspicion they
they had a conversation with him
kind of gave him
outline of what they were doing and asked
if he had any ideas or input
especially on characters and
stuff like that.
Yeah.
So I will see
what's to come.
Yeah, they said three-season
story art.
Well, I like what they're doing.
Yeah. Each season, they're going to
go back 27 years.
All right.
We will see.
