Victims, for those of you who delight and dread, who fantasize about fear, who glorify
goal, welcome.
You have found the place where the whole returns.
Listeners beware.
This podcast contains major plot spoilers in the foulest of language.
Join us
in celebrating the old
and the new
the best and the worst
in horror.
All right, so there's a movie
that's out that has divided.
It's almost caused a civil war
among the horror returns community
and that movie, of course,
is the Last Jedi.
So we have certain people, certain listeners.
We're not going to name any names tonight.
You know who you are.
Some of you have written
entire fucking emails
of letters to us
I just realized I need to watch
my language because the two we have here with us
as guests tonight
some people wrote some darn letters
emails
griping complaining shall we say
about the movie
but we're here to set the record straight
we've decided we're going to do a special recording
with only Star Wars fans
if you're not a Star Wars fan or if you gripe
or grouse or mumble or grumble
about any of the movies,
even the newest one,
you're not invited to participate
on this show.
So, we're gonna pass,
we've got a round table here
of experts in the field.
And we're gonna start with
our good man, Ivan.
Okay, so,
Star Wars of Lash Jedi was kind of good.
I just didn't like the end because of...
Oh, he's already selling us out.
You're on Patrick's side already, man.
Um, I liked it a lot, but like, um, there's some parts, there's some parts like, that was just like, I, like, when they were looking, like, when Ray and Kylo Ren were like, how would you see it? Like, how would you put it? Like, in the movie when they were, like, seeing each other, when Kyle Ren asked her, can you see me? And I think, I, I, I, like, they were projecting to each other. Yeah. And then, I, like, and then, I, like, when,
And Ray saw like this hole in the movie.
It was a black hole.
And then like she went into it and she found like a wall.
She thought she was looking into a mirror.
So did you like that part or was that too far-fetched?
I liked it.
That part was like amazing.
Okay.
So what do you think about the last Jedi?
Yes or no?
Yes.
Okay.
So now we've got another expert in the field, Juan.
What do you think about the last Jedi?
It was really good because at the end,
Luke and Kylo Ren, it was a projected of Luke Skywalker.
A hologram of Luke Skywalker,
and Kylo Ren thought he killed him, but he didn't.
So, yeah.
Okay.
All right, well, we got one more expert here,
And that's Big Ivan.
Big Ivan, what did you think about the Last Jedi?
I thought it was fucking awesome.
What would you give it on a scale of 1 to 10?
Go ahead and 11.
And what are you going to say to our number one listener and editor of our podcast?
His name is Patrick.
He hated it.
Stop being a hater.
All right, fair enough.
Yeah.
All right.
So let's go back to the beginning.
How many Star Wars movies have you seen, Ivan?
So far I've seen all of them from 1 through 9, right?
Nine?
Eight so far, but nine's coming out.
I can't wait to see, I can't wait to see nine.
I think he's going to be good.
So far, the first one was my favorite, but then I didn't like the beginning when, when, I forgot his name, but like, this is.
Jar Jar Binks?
No.
The guy with the.
Darth's white.
Because I didn't like it because at the end, Darth Maher killed the guy who took Anakin Skywalker to the rebel base, right?
The rebel base and that was just...
But wouldn't you say Dark Mal went out too easily that he should have been around a lot longer, right?
Because he died right after Obi-Wan Kenobi-Clius slice his body and then he wasn't...
He was around for the whole movie, but then, like, at the end, it was like, it's the end for you.
It was, yeah.
Okay, well, what do you think about the chapters four, five, and six, the ones that were filmed way back when Papa was a little kid?
Did you like them?
Yeah.
Or were they too old-looking for you?
I like number six the most because it was like when Anakin turned into Darth Vader.
Oh, wait, that's number three, though.
Yeah.
You're talking about, yeah, you're talking about.
Oh, number six.
Number six is going to be the one where it started off where they had to free Han Solo from the,
he was encased in carbonite and sent over to.
Oh, yeah, when they.
When Leo went to go unfreeze him in this type of wall,
she had to put in a code and they found her.
So they took her and Luke came and.
Brider back to the rebel base and that one was amazing. Okay, so Juan, we want to know what was your favorite Star Wars movie?
The first one because it was really good. So you mean the Phantom in us? Yeah, the very first one where Anakin was a little kid?
Mm-hmm. And he was in the races? Oh, yeah, I remember that when a guy kept on hitting him. Yeah, that was really where he kept on, someone kept on hitting him, so
When he said, now that's pod racing.
Yeah.
Right?
It was really good.
Okay, so what do you think about chapters 4, 5, and 6?
The ones that were filmed back in the 70s and 80s?
Did they look really old or different?
Or did they fit in real good for you?
They fit it in real good.
No problem?
Yeah.
Okay, so have you gentlemen both seen Road 1?
Yes.
It was really good.
What do you think?
It's actually one of my favorite.
It had a lot of action, didn't it?
Yeah, it had a lot of action.
And that was really cool with the big guy, the big tall guy,
the one with the black one that died.
Remember once?
The rest is life trying to save him.
I think they all died.
Spoiler alert.
All right.
All right, Big Ivan.
What's your favorite...
What's your favorite Star Wars movie?
I'd have to say all of them.
I think they were all good.
What do you think about the New Hope?
New Hope?
The New Hope was like one of the best out of the series
because that was the first one, Leia and Luke Skywalker were introduced to the series.
Right.
And that's when they didn't know they were brother and sister, right?
Yeah.
And so Luke barely found out that Leah was his sister.
And it was like jaw drop.
It was weird.
It was weird.
So, like, he didn't know.
Right.
But he's like if he's been hanging out with a friend, he thought she was a friend.
So let me ask you this.
When he said he said she was really pretty.
and then she kissed him and all that.
Now that you know that was his sister,
now does that seem kind of creepy?
Yeah, it does.
Think it back on it?
Big time.
Hans Solo got jealous.
So let me ask you this.
Do you guys think that George Lucas,
the guy who wrote and directed that movie?
Do you think he knew what he was doing from the beginning
or do you think he made it up as he went along?
He made it up as he went along.
I think he did.
I wanted to make sure.
From the mouths of babes, right?
Yeah.
All right.
So let me ask you this one.
I've got some questions for you.
I want to know what you think about the newest movie,
The Last Jedi.
It was really good.
Was there anything in it that was too silly
or that was too hard to believe or just didn't make sense?
Or did it all make sense to you?
The Luke Skywalker part, because it was at the end,
he made a hospital.
He made a hologram of himself.
He made a hologram of himself.
So it's like, is he really there or is he not really there, right?
It's like...
It kind of confused you a little bit.
Yeah, it confused me because I didn't know if that was actually him
because it looked really like him.
And I don't know if he went all the way over there just to do that.
All right, well, let me ask you this, Big Ivan, Daddy Ivan.
My question to you, did you think it had to him?
point that maybe Luke was going to turn evil?
No, I didn't.
Well, you know, there's some fan theories out there
that they thought that he was going to be in the evil
or like a gray Jedi?
Yeah.
Like part good, part evil?
Yeah.
Do you think they're full of crap for thinking this?
Oh, yeah.
Never going to happen, right?
No, he's not.
Like, when Kylo Ren told the story about, like,
him and Luke getting into a fight,
he saw, he saw Kyle Loren thinking of, like,
he was going to go to the other side, so he tried to kill him when he was asleep.
They thought Luke Skywalker was going to the bad side,
but it was actually Kylo Ren who was going to the bad side.
Okay.
Spoiler.
So let me ask you that.
Well, we can do spoilers because we've already covered all that.
Let me ask you this.
When Kylo Ren killed Snoke, did you think he was going to turn good?
Actually, no, because...
He didn't fool you, huh?
I did.
I thought he was.
Because he, um, he said, he said that he was going to turn good.
And he told, he, after that, he told, um, Ray, come join me to the dark side.
And like, it was like after the battle, when, after Snoke died, when, uh, Ray got his
light saber back, that's when he asked him.
And he asked, they can make a new, um, a new, a new rebellion.
A new rebellion.
All right.
Well, let me ask you guys this.
There's been a lot of talk about the different characters.
Like Jar Jar Binks, do you think he was silly, or do you think he was a good character?
He was funny.
He was really funny, and he was a really good character.
Okay.
What about the porgs?
Did you all like them?
Was that the guy who went, roo-ble-l-l-l-l-l-l-h.
That was the little creatures in the new movie?
They were really good.
They were good.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
All right, Patrick, you're probably laughing at me now.
I'm trying to prove a point, and I think they're totally going against what I was hoping they'd say on some of these.
So once again, this is kind of a, this whole podcast, the reason that we're doing this, we wanted to get a younger perspective on the movies because a lot of us, you know, we go way back to the original, kind of like the OG Star Wars movies, if you will.
Now let me ask you guys this, do you think, like in the movie where Darth Vader went into the lava,
And actually, like, when he turned into Darth Vader,
did you guys think that was realistic?
Or did you think it was kind of silly?
I thought it was realistic because he, like,
because, like, Obi-Wan Kenobi cut off his hands
and he tried getting up, but he couldn't.
So he, like, he got too close to the lot when he started coming on fire.
That was, like, one of the weirdest parts in number three.
It was basically creepy.
Yes.
It was, and then at the end when they asked, when, when Anakin asked, where's Leah,
the Sith said, you killed her, and he's, and so he yelled out, no!
And then, at the end, like, at the end, and in, when Luke and, when Luke and Leo were born,
They had to give Leah to another person and give Luke on tattooing.
Keep them on tattooing.
Because when they were born, they didn't even know they were brother and sister.
Okay.
And it was weird.
All right.
I've got another question for you guys.
On the new movie, The Last Jedi, what do you think about the character DJ?
Do you think he's a good guy or a bad guy that we're?
Do you think he's a real bad guy or just a good guy that was just trying to make a little bit of money?
Was it that guy who turned on him right after?
Yeah, I think he was a bad guy because, I mean, who turned on someone right after you help him get away?
That's weird.
All right?
So I want to know what you kids think about Lando Calrissian.
Do you remember him from the Cloud City?
Oh, yeah.
Was he a bad guy?
Or was he just trying to take care of himself and his family?
Was he just worried about getting hurt by Darth Vader?
I think he was worried about getting hurt by Darth Vader because, like, he would, he helped Leah and Hans Solo get, defeat the, all the string troopers.
He changed his mind later, right?
And then he, he was the one, him and Hans Solo were best friends, and they were the two who flew the Millennium Falcon.
All right.
The Millennium Falcon is one of my best ships ever.
All right, I've got one more question for you guys.
Yeah.
There's a movie coming out this year that's called Solo.
And it's all about Han Solo when he was young.
Do you guys think it's a good idea to make that?
Or do you wish they would just make more movies in the future of Star Wars?
Let's let Juan answer this one.
I think it's going to be really good because Han Solo was like a bad guy and an other guy at the same time.
Han Solo is a shit.
Han Solo is kind of a lovable rogue, right?
It's like he was always worried about himself, but you had to like it.
How could he not be a badass?
He drove the Millennium Falcon.
I mean...
Right.
He was really good because the way he just drove the Millennium Falcon was really cool.
So he was a badass, huh?
Yeah, it was.
You're allowed to say that.
That's okay.
That's not a real bad word.
All right.
Big Ivan, I want to hear from you, ma'am.
So we've heard from the kids.
What are your closing thoughts here as far as?
as the future of Star Wars. What do you think
we're going from here?
I would like to see
more Star Wars. I wouldn't want
them to end it, but I mean...
So you're in favor of the
Hot Sulom? Yeah, I would like to see it.
See where they go with it. See how
it's going to... Do you have
any theories about what you think is going to happen
in episode 9?
No, I don't.
It's hard to tell. Because they flipped everything.
They flipped the script for so much of me, didn't it?
A lot of it, yeah.
Like on Rogue One, they went back to the story that was before the...
They went back to the story before...
Five... Four, right?
Yep.
They, like, right before...
For, like, what happened on another planet, or was it the same planet?
Mm-hmm.
And they did a good job, didn't they?
Mm-hmm.
Because, like, the end, when there was, like, this giant explosion...
Is exactly where Star Wars and New Hope started.
Yeah.
Because there was a new hope of Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo.
and Joey.
Mm-hmm.
So it was like, it was good.
One of the best movies ever in the Star Wars series.
Awesome.
Okay, so Juan, final thoughts.
What are you looking forward to,
and what do you think is going to happen in Chapter 9?
I think...
Do you think Ray is going to stay a good guy?
Do you think Carlo Ren is always going to be a bad guy?
Or do you think something weird is going to happen?
I think something weird is going to happen.
I think something weird is going to have.
happen and I think that
Colorado is going to go on the good
side with Ray. You really do?
Yeah. You think
he's going to redeem himself at the end?
Yes. Okay.
Final thoughts. Ivan, what do
you think is going to happen in episode
number nine? Um,
I think Finn is
going to be the next one to who's going to
use the force. Because
strong words. I didn't even thought
about that. Because Ray
didn't even know she had the
force until when they were fighting in number eight or was it seven and the force awakens when
they were fighting she barely found out that she used the force to grab the lightsaber when
kailoran and ray were fighting and it was surprising when finn came back in the last jedi i i thought he was
dead but he came back it was weird and leah how did she come back she was like blown into space
and then she just like returned automatically.
It was.
All right.
So some good thoughts.
So anyway, we just wanted to bring this short podcast.
This is another bonus episode.
We wanted to bring you guys the entire Star Wars saga from a kid's perspective.
These guys know what they're talking about because they've seen every single one.
And you heard it right here.
So if you guys wanted to know what it was like to hear from a different set of
that are seeing this,
that did not get a chance to see
the original four, five, and six when they came out.
This was it.
So, signing off for the horror returns.
This has been, of course, Lance.
Ivan.
Juan.
Big Ivan.
All right.
So until the horror returns again,
good night.
