Welcome back one and all
To the horror returns
I'm Lance
And with me as always
or my co-host Brian and Philip.
How's it going, guys?
It is going good.
Awesome.
You guys get a chance to check out that new movie that came out this weekend.
I can't remember the name.
Something about the defenders or what was it?
The Revengers.
I think so, yeah.
That sounds right.
The Ravengers?
I think one or two people may have seen it, right?
We want.
All right.
Well, we're going to have a lot to talk about.
I'll get into it later.
All right.
But you're going to hear some fan boy shit.
Well, you guys knew my expectations going in, so let's see how this goes down.
I think everybody do.
All right.
So I'm hoping Nez can pop in later because tonight is a really special night for us.
And big shout out.
Thanks to everybody who stuck around and listened, our download numbers in the last three or four months have more than doubled.
so somebody's listening.
So, hey.
Nice.
But, yeah, this is show number 100.
So we haven't missed a week.
And speaking of which, last week, guys,
phenomenal show with the horror mafia.
Congratulations.
It's a lot of time to listen to.
We made it.
Yeah.
Made it.
Yeah.
We sort of made it.
Yeah.
You guys did great.
Between early, you know,
Cooza jokes.
And they got a groan out of Brian.
And then toward the end there when you guys were comparing the final movie to Freddie,
like the Japanese version of Freddy versus Jason.
That's what it is.
Oh, man.
But I think out of all the movies you guys reviewed,
I think you guys sold me the most on The Grudge, the original The Grudge.
Yeah, definitely the best one we watched.
Something I'm going to go back and check out for sure.
So that was pretty cool that you guys did that and Vegas was cool.
But Brian, what I want to know, what I really want to know is what's your cool of the week?
I had a very busy work schedule, so didn't get any movies or really TV shows in.
But I checked out a couple cool YouTube channels.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah, one is called Crip TV and they do a lot of short horror.
movies. They can range from like three minutes, five minutes. I think of the most I've seen one was maybe nine or ten minutes.
And they are very well made. And I definitely recommend people check that on YouTube as Crypt TV.
Is it like Crypt.tv. Or is it?
I think if you just type in Crypt TV, it'll pop up on YouTube. And then another YouTube channel I checked out was called Dead Meat.
and it's run by a guy named James A. Janice,
and he basically breaks down movies and does a kill count.
And he breaks down how many kills are in a movie,
the time, you know, basically he breaks down everything.
And it's very interesting.
He's very entertaining.
And I just found out he will be at Texas Frightmare.
No kidding.
So, yeah, so James A. Janice and his channel is called Dead Meat.
Well, you know what?
We're really going to be flying by the seat of our pants this year because I don't think we've set up a single, we haven't set up a single interview for that event, have we guys?
No, it just seemed very difficult this year.
Yeah, it's a lot different.
Maybe things will be changed once we get there and start talking to people.
Yeah.
See what we can do.
If nothing else, we'll have a show about our experience there.
we'll definitely horn in a few sound bites from some different people, I'm sure.
Oh, yeah, absolutely, man.
Whether they like it or not.
All right, well, let's meet up with that dude at Frightmare for sure, Brian.
Send us the specifics on that.
You want to reach out to him prior and...
Yeah, I'll shoot him a message.
Cool.
He seems very reachable, so...
Mm-hmm.
I will do that.
Sounds like a plan.
Awesome.
Man, I can't really, I watched that Andre the Giant documentary.
Oh, did you?
Yeah, it was really good.
I was super impressed with it, man.
Yeah.
I was a big Hulk Hogan fan, you know.
Andre the Giant was a little bit before my time.
But it kind of shows the rise of Hulk Hogan in the absence of Andre.
and sort of how that torts changed hands.
It was pretty cool.
Other than that, my kid is kicking ass in Little League.
He hit a home run the other night.
Inside the park.
I'll take it.
Inside the park, home run.
Yeah, probably little kids on their short legs had trouble
wrangling that thing up, huh?
Yeah, to be fair, if they hit it outside the infield,
it's pretty much guaranteed home run.
I love it.
That's about it for me.
Yeah?
I've got a cool of the week, but let me start with my not so cool of the week.
Brian, you know what it is?
I think I might know what, what is it?
It probably is what you're thinking.
What the fuck happened to Adam Green?
Oh, yeah, I've seen you.
watched it. And this guy, I thought he was going to have a great career. The first couple of
Hatchet movies were awesome. And then he did Frozen, not the one with Elsa, but he did the
original Frozen. Where the kids were stuck on the ski lift? Yeah, and that was a good movie right
there. Dude, that was a great tense movie. That had like Shades of Hitchcock. I guess he's gotten
stuck on this Holliston TV show or whatever the hell it is, but God damn it, Victor Crowley sucked.
Oh,
fucking horrible, man.
And you know what really made me mad about it?
What's that?
The first, what, five or ten minutes was promising?
Yes, it was.
Nothing happened until, like, maybe the last ten minutes of the movie.
Oh, man, you nailed it, dude.
That's exactly what it was.
I was trying to put my finger on what bothered me so much,
because, yeah, that opening scene where they flashed back to 1964,
I was like, yeah.
Good old-fashioned gore, you know.
But, yeah, you're right, dude.
It was like an hour and ten minutes of literally nothing.
They always try to do that.
They try to make something like, they try to make it more than it is.
And, oh, I'm going to make this a really kick-ass movie.
No, dude, just kill people.
Right.
Keep it simple, man.
Yeah.
Oh, man, but my cool of the week, I had to warm up to it
because I wasn't so sure about the first episode two weeks ago,
but haven't seen the second one,
I'm really getting into Fear of the Walking Dead.
Wow.
Yeah, I'm really liking what they're doing here.
They did a time jump because the first episode, Morgan shows up.
And it was almost like the whole first episode was mostly about Morgan and two people that he met up with that had never even been on the show before.
So I'm like, what the fuck is this?
I was, because I assume, because, you know, fear was the whole selling point of it,
It was the first couple of seasons happened at the very beginning of the of the apocalypse.
Yeah.
So it was supposed to be taking place several years before where they were on The Walking Dead.
Yeah.
So I thought, what the fuck is Morgan doing?
He just left, because it literally showed him leaving, like, where he left season 8 of the
Walking Dead and walking and ended up meeting up with these people.
And I'm like, they're off on the timeline here.
Do they not realize what they're doing?
And then they made it real clear in the second episode that it was a time jump.
and I'm cool with it.
Oh, okay.
So, yeah, I'm digging it.
Fear the Walking Dead.
Check it out, folks, if you're not already.
Now, did you watch this on TV or did you catch it in the theater?
No, was it in the theater?
Yeah, they did a, they showed the Walking Dead finale and the first episode of Fear the Walking Dead in the theater.
Really?
Yeah.
No idea.
No, I just, yeah, I watched it on TV, man.
All right.
I'm one of those suckers that pays for TV and watched it on, actually watched it on AMC.
All right, so that's cool.
I think that wraps up cool of the week for everybody, right?
Yeah.
All right, Brian, you said we got, you guys didn't do news last week, right?
Nope.
I figured with as many guests as we were having, it'd be a good idea to get to the movies.
And I think it was because those guys had a lot to say about the movies we reviewed.
so I got, yeah, I got an abundance of news, so.
All right, hit us up, man.
Ash versus Evil Dead has officially been canceled.
No.
I think it's run its course.
Yeah, and with that being said, Bruce Campbell said he is retiring for good playing Ash.
Oh, this makes me sad.
That's the worst.
Also, Jason Witten retired, which is kind of the same thing.
Mm-hmm.
Gotta say.
and let's see here
we talked about
sci-fi and kevin baking
were working on a tremors TV show
they had
filmed the pilot episode
and sci-fi has decided not to pick it up
so
sci-fi has decided not to pick it up
how much
the left nut is that
so from what I'm
understanding they are shopping
the pilot around, so it might not be the complete end for
Trimmers, but we'll see.
Somebody may pick it up. Do I, uh, do I sense a presence?
Do I sense a presence in the room? Is that a ghost?
You know it. What up, baby?
Hey!
I'm back in the house. Back in black, baby.
Yep. Ready to rock. Next week.
Cool. All right. Well, I didn't know how long we were going to have until we, uh, till we were
able to get with you dude we're just barely getting into news so what was you what was your cool of
the week uh well definitely wasn't uh the sharks in the first round playoffs or the second
oh no got slapped up by the the los vegas fucking golden shower nights uh but game two is tonight so uh
all right like they say in hockey let's do that hockey go sharks all right
Cool of the week is
I finally finished
Santa Clarita Diet
I was taking my time
with that and man it was
fucking awesome
Right
I loved it
Did you guys finish it
Any of you
Brian?
Yeah I did
I loved it
Yeah me too man
That was I think every single person on the show
Has recommended that one
So if you haven't watched it by now
What are you doing?
I just took my time with it
I didn't want to rush through it because it's so good.
I just didn't want to just chew it all up at once.
Because that's right over the first season.
So I took my sweet time, finally finished it.
It's awesome.
Another not so cool of the week is that fucking lost in space.
Ugh.
Trash.
Trash, man.
Damn it.
I watched like half of the first episode and fell asleep.
So I really got back into it.
Yeah.
You're good.
Yeah, you're good, Phil.
Okay.
Don't do like me and waste a whole hour on it.
All right, that's fair.
Did you finish it, Brian?
I watched the first two episodes, and I thought it was okay,
but it was nothing that I was going to rush back and just finish the whole season.
So it looks like I wasn't missing anything.
No, you were not.
A lot of people did like it.
I mean, the only thing I really liked about this show was Will Robinson and the Robot.
I thought they were cool.
I wasn't feeling the robot in the beginning,
but then once it got going, all right, cool,
but everything else,
I see what they were trying to do.
They were changing pretty much everything,
even the whole storyline of the family,
adding the more family problems to the show.
I was like, okay, I mean, that's family problems.
They didn't have any of that with the TV show
or even the movie, but it was what it was.
It wasn't my lost in space.
I mean, I love the TV show.
I even loved the movie.
But I was just, I wasn't feeling it, mainly with the dad, the John Robinson character.
I can't remember the name, the actor's name.
Who cares?
I wasn't behind it from the kids.
I was all right with Penny and Julie or Judy.
The mom was all right.
I don't know who that she is.
I know I've seen her in other things.
I thought she was hot.
Parker Posey.
I love her.
Okay.
I don't know about this one, man.
She, it wasn't her.
It wasn't her just because she's a woman being Dr. Smith is not that.
I don't want all the ladies coming after me.
It wasn't because I love Parker Posey.
I loved her just about everything she's done, but I don't know.
I mean, I'm sure it wasn't her fault.
She didn't write it off.
She just took the job and did it.
But I don't know.
I wasn't feeling that character, man.
But overall, may have any of you listeners either finished it or are interested,
do check it out.
A OG fan of the real, of the real Lost in Space, I just, nah.
But I will watch the second season.
Maybe it'll be better.
Dude, you're, you hang in there, man.
I got to give it to you.
Well, I hung in this far with the fucking bullshit Walking Dead.
So.
Right.
All right.
We're getting to that.
We're going to talk about that.
All right, Brian.
On to the news.
All right.
Kev, any opinions on Ash versus Evil Dad being canceled?
That's fucking bullshit.
Right.
Fuck those guys.
I want Netflix or Hulu or Shutter, one of these guys, to pick it up and continue it.
I do think, I mean, Ash said he pretty much, he's hanging it, hanging up, hanging up the chainsaw.
but I think if someone
threw a big check at him, he go, ah, fuck it,
all right. I mean, because I know I would.
He wouldn't be as if he didn't.
That's right.
But if they don't,
I think they should do one more movie with,
I mean, I know I've said this before with everybody
from the TV show.
Just give us one movie.
And if this is it, close it out with that.
Yeah.
I mean, I think that would be good for the fans.
Don't just, sorry, bros, we're done.
And that's it.
I mean, I think just one more last adventure.
And then we'd all be cool with it, I think.
I would.
Sure.
If they continue, of course I'm going to watch it.
I'm sure they'll have some reboots of the Walking Dead, or not the Walking Dead,
or not the Walking Dead at some point, you know.
And Bruce Campbell eventually will get revamped with a different person with a different
chainsaw arm.
It may be 10 years from now, but it'll happen.
Did you guys read that?
there was an article going around like what if they continued it with um the the female characters
yeah the one that did the movie um that there there was a there was an idea that they were going to have
um i can't remember her name on the show uh one of his uh sidekicks what is her name
the hot one yeah oh fuck the really like bitchy chick who's just kick ass all
the time. Yeah, they were going to, they were going to have her and then Jane Levy from the,
yeah, Jane Levy from the Evil Dead remake. Right. Yeah. And there was an idea of floating around
of going to have all them in the same movie. So that could work. I love everybody that's in the
show. And I'd love the last movie, two different feel of, you know, of movies, but I think that they
could work together.
I don't know.
I mean, I didn't like the movie when it first came out.
I was going through some problems, but it was something to just get my mind off of it.
But I hated it the first time I saw it.
But Blind Frankenstein, he made me rewatch it.
Dude, just watch it again and we'll talk about it.
So I was like, fuck it.
All right.
So I gave it another shot.
Fucking, I love that movie.
As far as them two getting together and continuing,
I don't think so
because
Jane Levy, man, her character, that
Evil Dead was like super
serious. I mean, there wasn't... Yeah, right.
There was no... There was little hints of comedy, but it wasn't like
when Ash and everything with the
first three movies, I mean, where it was fucking horror and just
comedy mainly through the whole thing, but
I don't know. I mean, especially... I can't even remember the girl's
name. Um...
I don't know if it would work because is it going to be funny or is it going to be serious?
And then if I don't know.
I think they changed it so much with the movie remake.
I don't know if they could.
But I mean, if they do do it, I mean, I'll watch it.
But I don't know.
That's kind of tough to say.
But could you imagine a serious ash with a chainsaw who's just whipping ass and taking names?
Nah.
Let's let it go out on a high note, guys.
All right.
The character is Kelly.
I don't know why.
Kelly.
Oh, okay.
The one that's on the current TV show.
Yeah.
Pablo and Kelly.
And as one more thing we touched on,
sci-fi is not picking up the pilot for the Truman's TV series.
Oh, they're not?
I thought they were.
No.
No, they passed on it.
Yeah, sci-fi was like, yeah, we're
too good for that.
Oh, come on.
If anyone, they should have took you.
Like, what?
I know there's a lot of fans for the asylum,
sci-fi shit.
The only thing I really love is all the Shark Nato movies.
I don't care what anyone says.
Those are fucking gold.
All of them.
Oh, Jesus.
You and Donnie from the horror mafia.
Yeah.
I love them.
Which one was Donnie?
Was he the one that knew everything about all the J-horror stuff?
Pretty much, yes.
Yeah, it does articles for Asian cinema magazine too, I think.
Oh, dude, Don, if you're listening, dude, man, fucking you rock, dude, man.
I knew I did know a lot of that stuff he was talking about, but man, fuck, I had forgotten a lot of it until he started talking about it.
And I was like, wow.
Right on, Don, dude, you fucking rock, dude. Awesome.
But back to Tremors, I was excited.
I do love all those movies.
Yes, they are stupid.
and I was happy that Kevin Bacon was going to be a part of it
and then they teased me a little bit with Fred Ward coming back
and then now sci-fi won't pick it up I mean is it that bad
to where sci-fi won't pick it up because
right they fucking they throw their money into everything
man you got me like lava lanchola and
toilet sharks
what was that one that we watched for that there was an
Avalent Sharks.
Oh, no.
We watched that with Blind Frankenstein.
Yeah.
You got shit like that, and you guys can't pick up something that already has a huge following tremors?
I mean, I think that's stupid, man.
If any of you board members of Cypah are listening, come on, dudes, man, this is fucking gold.
It will definitely put some change in your pocket, so I think they need to rethink it.
the pilot with Kevin Bacon is that bad
that sci-fi won't pick it up.
Right.
I don't know, man.
If you've seen all those sci-fi movies and I watch...
I know.
That's what scares me.
No, it can't be that bad.
No, I don't believe it.
Yeah, I mean, yes, I know someone's screaming at me saying that all the tremor movies are stupid past the first one.
Yes, they were.
They are.
They were entertaining.
They were entertaining.
And once Jamie Kennedy came aboard, I was like, fuck yeah.
But, man, they need to rethink it.
Come on, just go back to the drawing board.
I mean, not the tremors people.
Sci-Fi.
Go back in there and rethink it.
I think they need to put it on there because I will definitely watch it.
I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Oh, yeah.
I watch it.
We'll see what happens.
All right.
Stranger Things, season three has begun filming.
And season four has already been.
been green lit.
Okay.
The day they announced...
Yeah, the day they announced
filming had begun, it was greenlit.
And they announced
some new cast members.
I always fuck up his last name.
Carrie Elways.
Is that how you say?
Oh, really?
From Saw?
Yes.
From the Princess Bride.
The Princess Bride.
Also, Jake Busey.
And
Maya Thurman-Hart,
which is the daughter
of Uma Thurman and Ethan
Hawk will also be a new cast member.
Okay. Interesting.
And it is also said that
Priya Ferguson, who played
Lucas's Little Sister,
she's going to be a series regular.
So she's going to be
more involved in the upcoming
season three storyline.
She looked like they were
weaseling her in for that.
I don't know why they didn't
sign these kids to like multi
year deals after season one.
Right.
So, yeah, no surprise that it's greenlit.
Let's see.
Oh, go ahead.
I think they should continue.
I mean, a lot of people did love the second season.
I thought it was, I liked it.
It was okay.
I mean, it wasn't as awesome as a first season.
You were just depressed about poor Rudy, man.
No.
Yeah, I mean, I didn't like it at first.
because he was kissing my woman, Winona.
Uh-huh.
The end of the season, I felt bad for him.
I was like, but he did go out like a champ.
Like a champ.
Spoiler alert, if you guys ever watched it yet, but should have by now.
I think by the last.
I don't know, man.
It just wasn't as strong as the first season.
I did go back and watch the whole first season again,
and I think they just loved them a little bit more when they were younger.
And not to say that in a creepy way.
but I don't know, man.
I'll probably watch it again before season three starts
because that's just to get a refresher.
Because when I watched the first season again,
I forgot everything.
But we'll see.
I mean, I just, I think the main thing I didn't like
was Dustin just being a little bitch
the whole time until he hooked up with,
what was his name, Mike or Steve?
Steve, yeah.
When he hooked up with him, man,
that was gold from
yeah
but yeah
season three I'll watch it
most definitely
all right
the next
movie in the
conjuring universe
is going to be
the next
Annabelle movie
which is due
out next summer
another one
okay
they sure keep
going back to the well
don't they
yeah
last one was
pretty awesome
yes it was
Keith David
not David
Keith
there we go
well
replace
Clarence Williams
the 3rd entails
from the hood 2.
Oh, awesome.
I don't know
if I like that or not.
I like he, David.
I do like it.
But Clarence Williams
the 3rd's character
and the first one
kind of made that movie.
Yeah, but the show
must go on, man.
Yeah.
Brian,
did you check out
Future, man?
Yes.
I loved it.
I loved it.
Yeah, I thought it was
fucking awesome.
If you guys haven't watched
that one,
check it out.
Oh,
Oh, Keith David was in that?
Yeah.
Oh, well, I got to check it out now.
I thought he was awesome in that.
I do love Clarence.
I think he could do a good job.
I mean, as long as he's, I guess he would have to be the same character.
Or I don't know.
Who knows?
Maybe they're going to change it up a little.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
I think he can do it.
I think so.
Is Spike Lee still a part of it?
No.
I believe somebody else is doing it.
I think the guy who did the original one is doing it.
Because I know Spike Lee was one of the producers.
Yeah.
I will have to check.
I'm not 100% sure, though.
You may be involved in it somehow, then.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Holly Berry is being eyed to play the female lead in John Wick, Chapter 3.
Okay.
I wouldn't mind that.
I'm going to say it right here.
I don't give a...
fuck about Holly Berry.
Oh, no.
Yeah, she's been in some shitty movies lately, hasn't she?
She's not even all that hot to me, honestly.
Yeah?
Really?
She's still not.
I think.
I've never been a Holly Berry fan.
Oh, I don't know, man.
The Monsters ball.
That makes one of us.
Well, that's a different situation there.
I liked her that way, all trashy.
She's ever been like a top 10 to me, but, uh, I mean, always hot.
And, I mean, she's in, like, her 50s at this point and still smoking hot.
Yeah.
I like that.
I can't go wrong with that.
I think the last movie I seen her in that I liked was that one woman.
I think it was, um, little Miss Sunshine was locked in the trunk.
Oh.
Oh.
No.
You're not, you're not talking about Catwoman, are you?
No, where she was the, uh, the 911 operator.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, the call?
Was that it?
That was terrible.
Yeah.
You like that?
I did.
I liked it.
I saw it in the theater.
I liked it.
She stuck on those kind of movies, though.
I think she's still got potential.
You know, if she finds something that she could be good at, that this could work.
She got her Academy Award.
She don't need to prove nothing else.
I agree.
We've got some news here for you, Lance.
Star Trek 4.
Yeah?
Hired director S.J.
Clark.
which she will be the first female director in franchise history.
Star Trek 4?
Yes, they are moving forward.
Yes, they are moving forward with it.
Oh, awesome.
I love the new universe.
This can be in the Kelvin universe, right?
Like the one with Chris Pine and Zachary Kito and all those guys?
Yes.
Oh, hell yeah.
Okay.
Which I don't know where that puts Quentin Tarantino's proposed Star Trek movie.
I don't even know.
I forgot all about that.
But is that a real thing?
I mean, was it greenlit or anything?
As far as I know, it was...
It was...
He said he wanted to do a Star Trek movie one time.
I think they were in talks.
I don't think it was necessary.
This might have killed it, though.
Yeah.
That could be it.
Something that I think we all knew was going to happen.
A Quiet Place sequel has been greenlit.
Yeah.
Makes sense.
Not a...
No word on...
No word on John Cresensky coming back to direct.
So I don't know if they're just going to have a new story with a new cast and director.
So keep a look out on more news for that.
Just leave it alone.
I mean, once was enough.
Right.
I think they'll just ruin it if they continue.
But that's my opinion.
Yeah, I totally agree with you.
I think it's good as a standalone story, but it's crossed 200 million.
off a $17 million budget.
So you knew it was going to happen.
Yeah.
You got to make that money.
Let's see.
Some more news for you, Lance.
Jason Clark cast in the upcoming Pet Semetery remake.
I heard about that, man.
They should have picked Dane to Hahn, though.
Man, I still stand by that.
He is a bad actor.
I got to admit.
I love the Valerian movie, but I watched him in something else.
a couple of weeks ago.
I can't even remember what it was,
but he's so fucking horrible.
I watched the Valerian a couple weeks ago.
It was still good.
Yeah, Valerian's great,
but I mean, the special effects are awesome.
He's passable in that one, I think.
Yeah.
Oh, my God, this dude, he's terrible.
Tulip Fever is the name of the one.
He played Jan von Loos.
Terrible, man.
Is that the one?
He's banging the chick from the new Tomb Raider movie?
Yeah, and I don't know.
I'm not mad at looking at her, but oh, man.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah, boy.
He was rough.
His accent was like coming and going and, oh, man.
Meth is a hell of a drug.
All right.
Now we're going to get into cinema con news.
We talked about J.J. Abrams' World War II Overlord movie that was set in the Cloverfield universe.
Oh, yes.
Yes.
He has now came out said this is not a Cloverfield movie.
What?
He's not.
I don't know why we would expect any different.
Yeah.
He's also said there is a Cloverfield movie coming out and it will be a direct sequel to the original one.
Hmm.
So.
All right.
Well.
Also, Overlord would be Bad Robot's first R-rated film.
Really?
Yes.
Interesting.
Okay.
And then rest of the news here is basically little quotes that I picked up because they showed a lot of trailers and a lot of scenes from upcoming movies coming out.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sorry.
I'm going to go back to Cool the Week for just a second.
Deadpool 2 trailer.
Yeah.
Okay.
Keep going.
Let's see.
Susperia.
A quote from that.
Uh, they showed the trailer, uh, very gruesome and hard to watch.
Okay.
The new one?
Yes.
Is that where we can see it anywhere?
Because I'm actually really interested in this.
A lot of this stuff they've only shown at CinemaCon.
So a lot of this stuff, I'm, I'm expecting to be released here real soon.
Yeah, a lot of, a lot of people are hating on this movie already, because they love the
original so much, but this director's done some damn good shit.
I was telling you, my cool of the week,
Like, I think when I saw it like six or seven months ago, that movie A Bigger Splash.
Uh-huh.
And it's got a lot of the same actors in it, too, that are in the Susperia.
But I think this, I think it could be good.
Yeah, there was, a lot of people said they like what they see.
It's just, there was a few that thought it was a little, made them feel a little queasy, basically, the stuff they were seeing in it, which that sounds, I'm all on board on that.
Yeah, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
What do you think, Nez?
you seen the original?
Oh, yeah.
I love that movie.
So are they pissing all over it by trying to do this remake?
I don't know.
I mean, I'll wait until I see it or at least see the trailer or whatever.
But as far as people being grossed out, if it's true, it's these people that don't watch
these type of movies.
So I don't know.
I mean, I don't believe the hype.
I've been fooled many times.
with everyone feigning and
yeah and then I
see the movie and like I don't know what the hell you guys are watching
but yeah
me and Neswell we reviewed
raw and allegedly people were
throwing up in the theater yeah
I thought that movie was very
boring yeah I thought it was very tame when it came to
the gore yeah definitely
when they do all that
I mean I understand why
they do it to hype it up to make
people go see it
right the non the the non-watchers
of movies like that.
Like, we'll watch it
because we watch everything
with blood and gore and everything
and we're so used to it
and we're not like,
oh, okay.
I mean,
I can't even remember
the last movie
that made me,
like,
oh, no,
I did.
The last thing that made me
like actually
almost throw up
was that
slaughtered vomit dolls.
Have you got seen that?
I heard about it.
Not,
I've heard about it too.
No slaughtered
Vomit dolls for me.
I know it's a...
I think this is a series of movies, but...
I don't know, man.
I mean, they were really throwing up, so...
Pretty bad, huh?
Yeah, and I continued and finished watching it.
I could not tell you what it's about, but...
When they were throwing up and drinking it and then...
Oh.
Okay.
That does not sound awesome at all.
I mean, but...
Susperia, I like who's in it.
I'm sure they can just give us a more up-to-date version of it.
I mean, I love the original.
To me, it's always kind of hard to capture what they did in the original films,
but there has been really good remakes, but majority of them are shit.
But I don't know. I'm going to see it.
I can't wait to see it.
I mean, I was kind of like, ooh, I don't know when they first announced that they were going to remake it.
But then when they cast everyone, I'm like, all right, cool.
I like some of the actresses that are in it, so I'm going to see it.
Let's see.
The next Terminator movie will be called Terminator.
Okay.
Kind of return to the roots, huh?
Yep.
All right.
Mission Impossible Fallout features Tom Cruise's most insane stunt yet,
Which I heard he actually got hurt doing this one.
Wasn't it when he jumped across the gap in the buildings?
Yeah, I think he, yeah, I think that's one.
I'm not sure if that's the one they're talking about, though.
No, I know what they're talking about.
It's the one where he tried to escape from the Church of Scientology.
No, that's dangerous.
Scary, kid, scary.
They'll chase you down.
I'm knocking on your door.
What do they call him a bad person or some shit like that?
I don't know, man.
He lost all of his, he got a lot of demerits and lost his heaven credits or whatever, I guess, huh?
Oh.
For you 90s kids out there, Paramount announced a return of Are You Afraid of the Dark series.
No, not.
For 2019.
I'm a 90s parent.
I'm with that.
I liked it.
Yeah?
I remember reading the books.
They were always, I was probably too old for it.
They were always dumb and silly.
You were probably too old for it at age four.
Well, I liked what they did.
I mean, my kids were slowly, they were young,
and they were slowly getting into horror stuff
after they saw poltergeist to the original.
I kind of said, well, here, watch this show.
And I liked what they did with.
I sat there and watched it with.
I mean, I can't remember any of the stories,
but, I mean, it was good for Nickelodeon.
Yeah.
And they're going to revamp it and just give us more stories.
I mean, I'll watch it.
I'll check it out.
I know my daughter's excited for it when she heard about it.
Nice.
They're bringing back doubled there, so I'm excited for that.
Is it with Mark Summers?
I don't know.
I mean, the little trailer teaser I see.
saw he was in it, but it was all old.
Ah, okay.
Old 80s footage, so I don't know.
He's still around, so if he does come back, I mean, I'll watch it.
Yeah, he, a lot of, there's a lot of shows on the food network that his production
company does, so.
No kidding.
He's been, he's been still in the business, so.
Did I use that green, green slime in, and with that?
Not, not any show I've seen.
I heard he was like one of the germaphobes, and he was like real...
He had problems with Double Dare.
I mean, not so much to where he wouldn't do the show is where he didn't want to be near all the physical challenges and the end challenge.
I don't know.
That could be rumor.
Really?
But if he does come back, man, I'm excited.
I mean, I'll definitely watch it because I think out of all the game shows,
we have. Those are like the only
questions I can never answer. I can't
answer shit on Jeopardy or Will of Fortune
or any of that. But
Double Dare, man, I was
answering everything. Back when
I was a teenager in the 80s, I
watched it with my buddy. He was like a
brainiac. And I was
much slimmer and much better
shape back in the 80s.
He goes, man, we should go on this show.
Because I would have killed at doing all
those physical challenges. Not now because I'm all
fat, but, oh man. I think
we could have did good. I still talk to my
buddy Terry and
he's like fuck man we should have did it. But I know
they were filming way out in Florida. But anyway,
back to the horror.
Let's see. They showed
some clips of the upcoming
predator movie and
one of the quotes I pulled was
lots of bloody action.
Nice. Nice. Okay.
I was just watching
Predators today
with Adrian
and Brody and everything.
Yeah, he's mad ass in that movie, man.
Are they going to continue with that, or is this just something told me?
It's a direct sequel to the Arnold one.
The original Arnold one?
Yes.
They can still all happen because that was on a different planet.
Yeah, Jake Busey is in this one, and he is actually playing the son of the character.
His father played in Terminator 2.
Okay.
That's cool?
It's all still.
I'm looking forward to it.
I really am.
Who's a little kid in this cast?
Isn't it, what is the kid that's in all the movies now?
He was in a room.
It wasn't from Batman Begins?
Dandahon Jr.
Oh, gosh.
Oh, no, is it the Batman kid?
That Batman kid.
Is it?
Devil possession movie we saw last year.
I got to hope.
No, probably not.
I'm just, I know how much Brian loves him.
Oh, no.
I'm pulling it out right now.
I thought he was a little girl.
God damn kid.
And I was so excited about the predator
until you guys brought that up.
Jacob Tremblay.
That's not that same.
I thought he was a little girl in the room.
Oh, the kid from the room with the long hair.
Yeah.
It's got a pretty good cast.
Kegh of Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown.
Thomas Jane, Jake Busey.
Olivia Munn.
Olivia Munn, yeah.
That's a good, that's a solid cast.
That's sold me.
Yeah.
The only thing that doesn't sell me is the guy from Logan,
the one with the mechanical arm.
Arm.
Right.
He is the lead in this.
Oh, he may be good, man.
You never know.
Yeah.
He may pull it off.
Let's see.
They showed some solo footage.
upcoming solo
Star Wars story
and it said the footage
impressed
so worried about this movie
I am so worried
about this movie
I'm a little worried
about it too
see I'm fine
because I'm not going in
at thinking
he's going to be Harrison Ford
that it's not going to happen
yeah but dude
what I saw in the one-liners
in the trailer
were so corny man
god
but I
and then
and then hey
and then
uh
he got that line,
everything you heard about me is true.
Like,
oh,
come on.
I did kind of like it
when he said,
I've got a good feeling about this.
That was kind of cool.
But other than that,
I was,
I was iffy.
When the first,
when all the bad shit started happening
with the change of the directors and all that,
I was worried because they were saying
they were having problems with him.
Right.
I forgot about all that.
But that first little teaser that we saw,
during the Super Bowl
just that however long it was
that sold me and everything
after that has just been getting
me hyped. If any of you listeners
have listened to the Zisu and I
talk about this from the beginning
when they first announced all this
we were like, we don't know, we weren't too
sure if this was
even going to make our top ten list
but everything they
show and
the trailer, the new trailer they showed
right before Avengers, fuck man,
I'm, whew, I'm ready.
I was almost naked.
I hope you're right, Ms.
I hope you're right, man.
I hope so.
I mean, I'm hyped, but I'm not like 100% hyped.
I'm about, right?
Maybe 75.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm just going in this with different eyes, basically.
Like you said, Lance, with the one-liners he's saying in this, he's a young solo.
He's not the solo we're used to.
he's not even really realize who he is yet so but why do we even really need this i mean can't we
just go forward in time do we really have to go back and do all these origin stories i mean
yeah i don't know it's a cool movie it's a cool movie i'm happy with that right one word
disney
disney okay
fair enough guaranteed money yep
Let's see.
Aquaman trailer was shown, also at CinemaCon.
One of the quotes I picked up was the movie looks epic, action-packed, and awesome.
Okay.
I hope.
And I believe I'm going to stand by my word.
Jason Momoa's mother.
I'm going to stand by what I said.
I'm going to stand by what I said.
I think all the standalone DC films are good.
It's when they do ensemble movies.
They just fall apart.
Oh, this one's directed.
by James Juan, though, right?
Yes.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, sign me up.
I was one of the rare people
that liked the Justice League.
I kind of liked it, too.
I didn't hate it at all.
I think I was the only one that hated it.
Yeah, you are.
I was iffy.
I was iffy when they said
Jason Memorial was going to be Aquaman
because I'm old school
and my Aquaman is white.
But with those tiny little spandex.
I want the orange and green and the blonde hair.
But after this Justice League, I was sold.
I was like, fuck.
I mean, I've always loved Jason Mamoa.
I even like that shitty as Conan, the Barbarian remake.
I did too.
I liked it for what it was.
It was better than I thought it was going to be.
And he's done a ton of good movies.
He was also an awesome bad guy and Bullet to the Head.
Oh, that act scene.
That act scene at that they had was awesome.
I wish it went like at least two or three more minutes longer.
But I think old sly just was tired and just had to end.
But I'm on board.
I mean, I'm off for Jason Remo being Aquaman now.
I mean, they at least gave the original Aquaman little love in the very beginning of the film.
When they're showing the DC logo, they do show the original Aquaman before they
show Jason Mamoa.
So, but as far as this movie is going,
um, I liked him.
I mean, he's a good actor.
He was good in Justice League.
And yes, I'm sure they're going to throw the comedy down our throat like they've been
doing with almost every movie, action movie, comic book movie now.
Even Star Wars, they just, right, throwing comedy at us.
I'm kind of worried that solo is going to be just a comedy, but I'm still going to see it.
But Aquaman, I'm on board.
I'm okay with the comedy stuff.
I'm okay with Jason Mamoa.
I did actually enjoy him in the Justice League movie.
You know, on a whole, I still think it was kind of disappointing,
but I'm excited about Aquaman.
I hope he is as kick-ass as I want him to be.
All right, let's see here.
They also showed the trailer for a glass,
the Unbreakable Split sequel.
Oh, okay.
The quote I pulled here was,
looks absolutely bonkers in the best way possible.
Hmm.
No, I can't wait.
By M. Knight Shyvon's mother, right?
I cannot wait.
I have been with M. Knight from the beginning,
and I don't care what anyone says.
I've liked every movie that he did.
Not the Killer Trees movie.
I love that one.
Even the shitty ass stuff.
You mean that it's so bad it's a good way, or what?
The Killer Trees.
Is that the lady the lady?
terrible.
No.
Killer
trees one.
The happening.
Oh, the happening.
Oh, yeah.
He was supposed to be like a high school
science teacher or something.
I had erased that garbage from my memory.
Marky Mark can do anything.
He can fight robots.
He can be a boxer.
He can be a science teacher.
Okay.
Ness, question.
What, Nez,
Mark Wahlberg, more believable
as high school science teacher
or inventor scientist from Transformers.
I was hoping you go there.
I'm for the science teacher.
I didn't buy the inventor fucking whatever you want.
I'm here to help your kids.
I like his character in those movies.
The movie was shit, but I still liked his character.
Okay.
And the last thing I saved here was Blumhouse Unveiled.
the Halloween trailer.
Oh.
And?
Let's see.
The quote, the best quote I found
was terrifying the Halloween sequel
we needed.
Okay.
And Lori Strode in the movie
is being compared to Sarah Connor.
I don't know,
man.
Did you read the article about the test screener
that went down?
No, I didn't.
They,
it sounded,
how I read it, it sounded like all the
OG Halloween fans like me that were there
in the beginning, didn't like it at all.
Oh, no.
I know there's, I know there's plenty of time
for them to go in and reshoot and fix whatever,
but they were saying that
it wasn't, it was like,
ooh, what are you guys trying to do to us?
And I am one of those fans that, like,
oh, fuck, you're going to destroy my childhood.
I'm still going to see it regardless,
but again, we don't know if this is true.
Maybe it's just something to get people talking like I'm doing right now about it.
It might be because I believe it was last month.
The same thing happened with Deadpool 2,
and they found that a lot of those bad reviews was not accurate.
Oh, okay.
I think that was a setup.
That was like an end joke.
That sounded like an in-joke to me.
Even with Deadpool, I wouldn't put it up.
past them. With this, though, I mean, it's easy to get a good quote if you're showing screeners
at, you know, little convention. Yeah, I mean, you never know this could be one of them
situations where the trailer is more awesome than a movie, so.
Hmm.
As long as they show the whole movie in the trailer, I hate when they do that.
Yeah. I'm not holding everything away.
And what is with this, okay, when you watch trailers online, what is it with this little three-second
mini trailer before the trailer.
What?
What did you talk like that?
I hate that.
Yeah.
I never heard of that one.
Okay.
Yeah, they show like a bunch of clips
really fast and then the title screen
and then show the trailer.
And I don't understand why they do
that.
It's a waste of time.
But yeah, hopefully
Halloween is what we
wanted to be. So
on that note, that is
all the news.
All right. Well, I guess
then, Nez, it's time for us
to take our trip down to the trailer
park, baby.
Let's do it. I'm going to talk about
Lake Placid
Legacy. I don't know what the legacy is,
but... Yes.
Come on. This is
starring Catherine Barrell,
Tim Rosen, and Luke Newton,
directed by Derell
or Daryl. Rout.
Thoughts
on the legacy of Lake Placin.
If you've never seen the original, you are in for a treat.
How many sequels are there?
Is this the fourth one?
Oh, is there?
I didn't even know there was more than one.
I thought there was just the original movie.
I think that's not after the second one.
Yeah.
I've seen this first one.
I don't remember, I don't remember finishing the second one.
Is that the one where, is that the one where Betty White
push somebody into the water to feed the alligator
or something like that? Yeah, she was
feeding cows to her
pet, she called him.
Oh, yeah.
Led her husband to her, but they didn't show it.
Right.
She told that sheriff, this would be the part
if I had a dick, I'd tell you to suck it.
Suck it. That was a good line.
That was the best line of the old movies.
That's the best line on a lot of movies
from Betty White.
Sci-fi's,
It's on sci-fi channel, so there's no reason why we all can't watch it.
I'm going to watch it.
I remember when you sent me the trailers, all I saw was Lake Placid Legacy.
I was like, oh, fuck.
But watching the trailer, I'm on board.
I'm going to watch it.
This is actually the fifth one.
Fifth?
Yeah, the one before was Lake Placid, the final chapter.
What do you just leave the classics alone?
Wow.
Oh, so there was a Lake Placid versus Anaconda, which was a crossover with the Anaconda series.
Oh, yeah, okay.
I didn't see it, but I mean, I can see the DVD cover.
Why not just have Shark Nato show up in there?
That's for the next.
You know, I was like, all right, guys.
That is for the next one, because this will be premiering Memorial Day on sci-fi.
Okay.
When is Memorial Day?
May 28 or something like that.
I don't know.
Kind of like the next Monday in May, right?
I think we'll all be watching solo, so I don't think it really matters.
Ah, okay.
Yes, we will.
And I'll be crunching the whole time, I'm sure.
Oh, he won't.
It's going to be your top ten movies of the year.
Dude.
Spoiler alert.
It's going to be fine.
What shit?
It's going to be a run for if that's the case, dude.
Lake Placid Legacy.
Let's see.
The next one, Hotel Artemis.
This one has got quite the cast.
Sophia Bettella.
Dave Batista, Jeff Goldblum,
Jenny Slate, Sterling K. Brown, Charlie Day, and Jody Foster.
Hell yeah.
Directed by Drew Pierce, and I looked him up.
He has written movies for
Let's see, Iron Man, some of the Mission Impossible movies.
So he's done action.
Cool.
What did you guys like a Hokedal Artem?
This looks fucking awesome.
Yeah.
I heard about it, but I didn't really look into what it was.
This is the first time I seen this trailer.
And when Jody Foster popped up on the screen, I'm sold.
I love Jody.
And fucking, it just looks awesome.
And you got fucking Mona Lisa from,
Parks and Rec
John Raphao's sister
popped him there for a second
And I love her too
And this just looks awesome
I mean I know Jody has done some shit movies
But
I think lately she's been just
Taking her time
And picking what she thinks is good
So I'm
I'm hoping it is
I mean the trailer made it look awesome
So I can't wait to see this
Yep I'm on board
Yeah me too
Yeah
It looks pretty cool
man. Very John Wick
hotel-ish.
Yep, I got that feeling too, man.
So did I.
So
let's see. Hotel Artemis
that will be coming out June 8th.
Let's see. Our next one
The Equalizer 2
starring Denzel Washington,
Pedro Pascal, Bill Pullman
and for you MMA fans
Donald Soroni and Andre
Orlovski, which they'll
probably to be killed immediately.
I'm a big fan of the first one,
so I'm definitely going to watch it.
Denzel kicking ass, so that's all I got to say.
I was kind of disappointed with the first one, man.
Yeah.
Like, I like Denzel kicking ass,
but I felt like he didn't kick as much ass as he probably should have in this one.
And this one looks better, but we'll see.
I think there's going to be a,
a lot more action in this one.
Because, yeah, same reason
why I didn't,
I wasn't excited when the first
one came out. I was a big fan
of the TV show, and
I knew it wasn't going to be that.
So,
I went in,
all right, it's Denzel.
He's never done me wrong. Well, he's done me wrong
in his earlier days, but
lately, I mean,
with the stuff he's putting out
before this, I mean,
I've loved everything he's done.
So I'm going to see it, even though I really didn't care for the first one.
But I kind of think there's going to be a little more action.
I mean, going back to John Wick real quick, I mean, there was like fucking way more action in the second one than there wasn't true.
So I kind of think they might go that route.
So, but I don't know, wait until we see it.
And Antoine Fuqua is returning to direct.
And if anybody doesn't know, he's also directed Training Day in The Magnificent South.
So the Equalizer 2 July 20th
And this leads us to our final trailer
Which Nez I know you had a lot to say about
You're going to have a lot to say about this one
Venom
And don't need to run down who's in it
We already talked about the first
trailer that didn't show shit
All right, Nez
But this one finally did
Yeah, go ahead, Nez
Oh fuck
Steve, I'm talking to you.
You got to go with the comic book story, man.
What the fuck are they doing?
I mean, Sony, I know they're riding off fucking
Dick still hard after a homecoming.
But why are they bringing in Venom right now?
And I know some of you guys are going
fucking get a life.
Fuck.
Read the books, goddamn it.
Secret Wars, man.
We haven't even had that unless seen it.
I mean, at least in the shitty-ass Spider-Man 3, sorry if you can hear that airplane coming in,
at least in Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man had a part of it.
He had the symbion suit before.
Right.
Now this seems like Eddie Brock is just going to get it.
It fucking came in the spaceship or whatever that was that crashed.
And I'm also getting hints that carnage might be in it because there's been multiple.
Oh, is he is in it?
Yeah.
And I'm like, what the fuck?
I mean, why are they doing this?
I know what's...
There's a lot of people...
I'm sorry, go ahead.
I didn't mean to cut you off.
Once Disney and Marvel Studios finally get a hold of it,
hopefully they'll do it some justice because...
Right.
I don't know.
I don't know about this.
I mean, I'm going to see it.
Who knows?
Maybe, oh, my God, that was fucking awesome.
But I'm still going to be one of those guys.
this story is fucking wrong watching the trailer.
I cringe when I see it.
I love...
Too far off the reservation, right?
It's way off, man.
It's just...
It's too early to bring in this character.
I mean, it was way too early when they brought him in and Spider-Man 3.
What did you guys think of his accent or voice he's using?
Because I kind of, watching the trailer, it kind of looked like he's dubbed over.
It's like a weird nerd voice or something.
Yeah, it's terrible.
I was confused about that, too.
He sounds...
Aside from the nerd voice, I really think this looks cool, man.
You got to have a movie with Venom.
He's a badass character.
Right.
I'm excited about it.
It may be bad, but I'm excited about it.
To me, he sounds like...
What was that movie he did with?
Captain McCirk and
Legally Blonde.
Oh.
Spies.
Shit.
This is war.
This is war.
Yeah, that's it.
This is war.
It kind of sounded like that.
I mean,
I know Tom Hardy's a badass.
Right.
But I'm sure they made him like,
hey, man, can you, like,
tone your voice down a little bit?
But, um,
I don't know.
I mean,
when's this coming out?
October 5th.
I know everyone's saying it right now.
I mean, I'm even thinking it myself.
Who knows maybe it will be an awesome film.
Right.
But as a comic book reader and knowing the history of Venom,
I'm like, what the fuck are you guys doing?
But I hope they prove me wrong.
I know, and I'm not the only one.
I know the storyline is wrong, just from what we've seen.
But I don't know.
But there is that rumor.
that Tom Holland was on the set.
If he shows up,
then this movie gets,
I don't know,
the fucking zero,
because that's going to make absolutely
no fucking sense whatsoever.
Come on,
man.
It's going to fucking ruin the movie.
If he shows up at the end.
Tom Holland can do no goddamn wrong right now.
I'm talking about for the storyline.
I don't care.
It's like when we joked
about when we when we reviewed
Logan at the end
his grave scene of Deadpool just popped up
it would have just kind of
fucking ruined the
the whole mood of the movie and I just honestly
hilarious yeah it would have
but if Tom Holland shows up
I'm just going to be like why
because Tom Hardy's not going to pop
up in the Marvel movie and the MCU
you never know
I don't know
I mean it's just rumor right now
because they're saying he was on the set
Maybe he was just there wanted to see.
But I hope don't bring him into it because for those of you that don't know,
Spider-Man had that suit first before Venom got hold of it or before Eddie Brock.
From the Secret Wars, right?
From like a different planet or something, right?
Oh, fuck.
Yeah, I don't remember exactly, but isn't that why Eddie Brock's in California?
Because Spider-Man told him to leave.
Yeah, he told him to get lost.
they're going to meet
in California
what the fuck is what the fuck is Peter Parker doing in California anyways
I don't know
why fucking get some California son
I don't know but
taking pictures
I don't even know I don't maybe
JJ JJJ sent him over there
he's saving the goddamn world you leave Spider-Man alone
I'm all said something I don't want to spoil it until we get to
spoilers but
all right
I don't know.
I know someone's yelling at me telling me to shut the hell up
and enjoy the film, but I'm a comic nerd.
It's Stephen is.
And fuck it.
Steve,
fuck you and the Giants and the 49.
I love you, bro.
You know that.
We're going to rock next month later.
But, oh, my God.
I mean, this, it's just fucking killing my childhood.
I remember reading Secret Wars number eight
when Spider-Man first got the suit and it was fucking glorious.
Yeah, the suit was real helpful at first, right?
And then it started trying to take over after that.
Yeah, it tried, it was, it had its own mind and it was taking over, trying to take over him.
And Peter didn't want to have no part of it anymore.
But if you want to see how he got rid of it, read Web of Spider-Man number one,
and it showed you how he got rid of it.
but they did what they did write in Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3,
how the vibration from the church bell,
that's how he got rid of it in the book.
But again, I will see it,
and I'm sure we're all going to sit here again and review it.
But I don't know, guys.
I mean, yeah, Venom.
All right.
Venom, October 5th, and that is our last trailer.
All right.
So I'm guessing that you guys didn't cover feedback last week, right?
No, we didn't.
So we probably got a little bit.
So, of course, our listener feedback on our 100th episode starts from Lars from Denmark.
He got to check out a special screening of the new Netflix show The Rain.
So the rain is the first Danish Netflix show.
I saw the first three episodes.
It's like 28 days later, but without zombies.
The rain is poisonous and most people are dead.
We follow a small group of survivors looking for people who work on a cure.
It's good fun but not really horror,
more of a drama about young people who must learn to work together.
Check it out on Netflix May 4th.
Right around the corner.
Yeah.
That doesn't sound bad.
You might check that out.
And they weren't zombies and 28 days later.
Anyway.
Well, semantics, Kev.
They were infected.
They were really angry people.
Yeah.
I still considered any zombies.
They didn't eat any one.
They're not zombies in the Walking Dead either.
They're walkers.
They're walkers.
All right.
I'm excited.
I want to check this out.
Yeah?
Yeah, it sounds cool.
Sheree, Pierre, posted a hilarious video on the group page.
You have to see to believe, for those who saw Black Panther and have a sense of humor.
I didn't see it.
Did you guys watch it?
Yeah.
Wakanda forever.
Whoa.
What are you saying that for?
That's pretty good.
That sounds cool.
I'll have to go check it out.
Let's see.
Regarding the news, the AMC has picked up Joe Hill's NOS 4A2.
What the hell is that?
Help me out, guys.
It's a book.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I haven't read it.
NOS 4A2.
Okay.
I thought it was an abbreviation that I just wasn't hip to.
For a 10-episode series,
Mikey Trometrash says
I can't wait to see good old
Charlie Manx collecting
ones worthy of Christmas land
Ryan Steven says the book was great
Oh is this the book about the guy that kidnaps
Kids and takes them to some place called Christmas Land
Or something like that
Have you all heard anything about?
I think so man
I think that title refers to a license plate or something
But I'm not a huge
Stephen King son right
Yeah I'm not a huge Joe Hill fan
But I do, I mean, I'm the biggest Stephen King fan ever, but I just haven't gotten into Joe Hill that much.
But I heard that's pretty good.
I may have to give it a try, especially if the show's good.
All right.
Well, there you have it.
Let's see, regarding the movie Rubber.
Has anyone's rubber?
Is anybody seen that?
Oh, yeah.
I like that.
Yeah.
That's a classic.
Killer tire.
I've never seen it
Misty Merchant says I love it
it's like if someone made a movie based on a tool album
All right
Patrick Lear of course
says yeah it's very bizarre
Eric King says it's an easy
entertaining watch
Jack Falvey the 4th says 8 out of 10
I know right
Alex and Sierra says the same
Sean Pipe says it's like driving by
it's like driving by an accident.
You don't want to keep watching
but at the same time you just can't stop.
Darren Wilson said
saw a double feature of it with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
That sounds like a good time.
A lot of love for this movie.
Yeah.
Well, damn, I have to go check out rubber.
I'd never see it.
Yeah, it's worth watching, I think.
Laura
Lanford
Very close to Langford
Lance is this
Your alter ego
No not at all
She's got an IMDB page
So I don't
Anyway
She shared a leak
That says in Films magazine
Featuring a film review
William Fredkins
The Devil and Father Amorth
The devil and father amortth.
Check it out.
That's a in films magazine?
Yeah, in films magazine.
Check it out.
I'm sure it's online.
Is this a documentary?
Could be.
I think it is.
Horror documentaries are kind of my jam.
Yeah?
Yeah, I totally watch that.
The devil and father amorth, huh?
Yeah, I guess so.
let's see
Jessica Tucker says
if you haven't seen a quiet place yet
do it
it's really good
yeah
like if
everybody on the planet hasn't told you by now
a quiet place was awesome
go check it out
oh holy shit guys
I got to check this movie out
the devil and father and more
it just came out last year
it is directed by William Friedkin
and yeah
it looks like he follows
around, he fathers around,
follows around Father Gabriel
and Morath performing his ninth
exorcist on an Italian woman.
What's not to love about
that? The director of the
exorcist. Is it the
Father Gabriel from the Walking Dead?
That would be amazing. Oh God, I hope
not.
That's a good point.
Let's see, we got Art
Cali. He says,
Hey guys, to get you even more
pump for Texas Frightmare.
Check out my homeboy Alfonso
from the bad boys podcast video
from this past weekend's
Monster Paloza out here in California.
All right, Fonzo.
And then Alfonso
Salazar pops up and says
I've always wanted to go to Texas Frightmare
Weekend. I can't wait to listen to that episode.
We can't wait to be in that episode.
It sounds awesome.
It's coming up next week.
You guys check it out.
Definitely a drunken episode.
while we're there.
Oh, probably.
Yeah, or you may go see
the Bong 666 or what.
Is that a thing?
Oh, all right.
I'm going to have to pack a bag.
It's been to free beer again.
Yeah, man.
Don't leave a brother in the dark about that.
You guys left me hanging.
Left you hanging.
You're the one who took off.
You were the ones that told me about it.
That's free beer.
That's good to be it.
You got to come find me.
Hey, there's free beer.
What?
Where?
Okay, I'm there.
I rolled in there, got my free beer, and was waiting for you guys.
No one ever showed up.
I had to sit through that shit.
The whole movie.
It sounds terrible, Nez.
I'm sorry.
The beer was good, though.
Asshole.
Well, we'll see you there again next week.
Let's see.
Interesting fan-made schedule for Marvel's Phase 4.
What do you think?
Are there any of these possibilities?
Art from Cali says I'm really interested in Nova.
Could be another fun movie.
Brian popped up and said,
I'd like to see the Thunderbolts.
Kevin, you're on here too.
He says we need Secret Wars first.
Marcus Will Turner says,
Oh, there we go.
Secret Wars.
Marcus Will Turner says
I could watch all of these
But they should have Blade the Illuminati
And the New Avengers
A
Lance says
I don't see Howard the Duck in here
Yeah
It's conspicuous in its absence man
Come on
He should be there
He's got to be in it
Regarding Lost in Space
On Netflix
We talked about it a little earlier
Yeah
Josh Youngblood says,
I just finished the first episode and he dug it.
Okay.
Each their own.
Yeah.
Patrick Clear says,
I liked it as well,
hoping for some throwbacks to the original.
But so far,
it's a pretty cool sci-fi series.
Wow.
Let's see.
Samantha Bean,
she popped up again.
She says,
I just finished watching number 25 of my 52 horror films bet.
Almost that's fair done.
Yeah, I wanted to find out how many others have seen The Witch.
She said, we really enjoyed it.
I always review each movie I watch since I am a non-horror film fan
and have actually turned a few of my other non-horror film friends into some of the movies,
onto some of the movies based on whether or not it's a film that I can tolerate.
In any case, the convincing acting, believable setting,
and a focus on the dark foreboding atmosphere
have all the elements of a psychological thriller.
I freely admit that there are a few scenes that I turned away from
as it disturbed me to watch and absorb what was happening.
It will not be a film for everyone,
but if you enjoy history, folklore, and period drama,
I'm pretty sure you will greatly appreciate this one.
Wow.
It's another great review.
No kidding.
I could not have said it.
that better. Yeah, that was, that perfectly described that movie, which is awesome, by the way.
Kick-ass horror film if you haven't watched it. Slow, but kick-guess.
Is this the young gal that watched, what the fuck was that?
Oh, Hell House, yes.
All right. Hey, girlfriend. Oh, man, thank you so much, because that movie was fucking awesome.
There you go.
Try to chip along to it already.
You're changing lives every day.
Thank you, Samantha Bean.
Right.
And that's the end of it for listener feedback.
That sums up our last couple of weeks.
Keep shooting us ideas and let us know what you guys think.
You can email us at thehorror returns at gmail.com
or catch us on any of the social medias.
Or if you're really awesome, you would go to iTunes and leave us review because you're cool.
and we love you.
Five stars.
Awesome.
All right.
Well, look, we're really getting into sinking our teeth into all this and with the extra news and everything.
We were going to do a Walking Dead season 8 recap, but Brian, we'll let you catch up, dude, and finish everything before we jump into it.
So we'll wait at least a week and then we'll cover Walking Dead Season 8.
Nez, you don't mind popping in for that, do you?
Maybe we can record it from Frightmare.
Cool. All right.
All right. So let's go under our top 10.
Nez, you got your top 10 with you?
We can go back and forth. You just want it all at once.
Yeah, this is always Brian's baby.
So, Brian, you tell us how you want to do this, man, because I've got my top 10 lined out and a couple of honorable mentions if it comes, if it comes to that.
I got mine. Do you guys want to go roundtable or you guys just want to do entire list?
I'm pretty cool either way.
What is that?
is how much how much time do we have i mean
is everyone free because if we roundtable it's going to take forever
yeah we're skipping our walking dead right yeah that's good point i guess let's just go
list by list and and and knock out because we still have avengers infinity war to talk about
and i definitely want to talk about this movie all right so i guess uh i'll go first um
I'm going to start with my honorable mentions.
A lot of these were basically movies that I watched over and over as a kid.
Right.
And my honorable mentions are The Gate and American Werewolf in London.
Okay.
Tremors, which we talked about earlier, and dead alive, also known as brain dead.
Those were my honor mentioned.
I've never seen that.
Oh, you need to.
That's an awesome list.
Now, okay, starting from number 10, which is my favorite, most favorite vampire movie, The Lost Boys.
Oh.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Number nine, don't save my list as eh.
That's nice.
Yes.
There you go.
Number nine is probably the newest movie on here.
Last year's It.
Oh.
Okay.
Number eight,
1986 is the fly.
That almost made my list.
Number seven,
Love My Horror Comedies,
Sean of the Dead.
Okay.
Thought about that one.
Number six,
Poltergeist.
Good one.
Number five.
Now, it's not the best in the series,
but it was my introduction to the series.
Friday the 13th,
Part 3.
Okay.
Let's see.
Number four, Evil Dead 2.
Okay, that one almost made my list too, man.
Number three, the original Halloween.
Let's see, number two, A Nightmare on Elm Street, three Dream Warriors.
Okay.
I know what number one is.
Yep, it is the thing.
Nice.
Good.
Well, we're going to have some diversity here for sure.
That's good.
Yeah.
That's good.
who's next
uh
i'll go
um i got i got a whole little handful of honorable mentions that didn't quite make it um
i'll just run through those real quick uh carry uh paranormal activity
rosemary's yeah paranormal activity man it was it was game changing uh rosemary's babies uh the ring
also game changing texas chains out massacres you said rings
The ring.
The ring.
The American version of the ring.
Which was better than the Japanese version, I thought.
Oh.
Texas Chainsaw Masker and the Omen.
These are all solid.
Yeah.
But they did have a couple of arguable ones in there, so I'll give you that.
My number 10 also could be arguable, but I love it.
Blair Witch.
Kick-ass movie, man.
Man.
It's a good movie.
It scared the shit out of me at the theater.
And it'll always hold the special place for my heart.
Plus, another game changer.
Number nine, last year's it.
Better than the TV miniseries.
And that scared the shit out of me when I was growing up.
So, love it.
Number eight is Jaws.
Good one.
Yeah.
Who's not afraid to go in the water because of that?
Speaking of which
Saw two people today on the beach
From the fucking beach
Catch like four foot sharks
Oh wow
Yeah they're like flopping around on the beach
Like 10 feet away from me
Oh you know they got a huge
A huge shark that they spotted off the Florida Keys
This week really?
You guys heard
Yeah you all heard about that
No
No
Nez you heard about that man
No I haven't
Yeah dude there's a huge like
one of the biggest sharks ever
so they track it. It was like in
I guess there's in North Carolina
last year and right now it's off the Florida
Keys. Probably headed toward Panama City
Beach just in time for our
September vacation.
Fuck me.
That's some crazy
shit. Oh, they scared the shit
on me. So I'm going surfing
this week. Anyway.
Number
seven is
aliens.
Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.
Number six, Silence of the Lambs.
Nice.
Number five, Evil Dead Two.
Okay, I've heard that one twice.
Number four, the Conjuring Two.
That was a good one. That almost made my list.
Yeah, that jumped up to my number four. It was a badass movie.
Number three is the thing.
Number two is Psycho.
and number one is the Exorcist.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Speaking of Friedkin, huh?
Yeah.
All right.
Naz, I guess we'll save you for last, man, since you're our guest.
Is that cool?
Yeah.
I'm going to run through.
So here's my, I've got four honorable mentions.
I've got one that probably none of you have seen from the 70s, the late 70s, or maybe
is the early 80s.
The Legacy.
Have you seen that one, Nez?
Yeah, I have.
Yeah, that was, the reason it's on my honor, we mentioned it's not that great of a movie,
but it got me kind of into horror movies because I was really young when I saw it on TV.
And the scene where the chick got stuck under the swimming pool,
when the swimming pool cover closed on her head.
Scared the hell out of me.
Another honorable mention would be Nightmare 3 Dream Warriors.
I think that was mentioned.
The 1954 original, definitely not the remake, but the original events of price, House of Wax.
Nice.
Definitely.
Not the Paris Hilton one?
Not the Paris Hilton one.
You sure?
You sure?
And also, a final honorable mention is aliens.
So now I'm going to go through, we go 10 to 1, right?
Yep.
Okay.
Let me make sure I got 10 here.
Hold on.
Who, scared me there for a minute.
I thought I was going to have to add one.
Okay.
Number 10, I'm going to go kind of horror comedy, but not really.
I mean, serious, but sort of, I thought it was a game changer.
That would be cabin in the woods.
Okay.
Thought you were going to fucking say boo.
That would have been great.
That would have been great.
That would have been mentioned twice, and that would be John Carpenter's The Thing.
Number eight, kind of an odd picker, maybe Jacob's Ladder.
Have you guys seen that one?
I actually never have.
I really need to watch that movie.
Yeah, Tim Robbins comes back as a Vietnam veteran,
and weird things start happening with all of his buddies that he was in the platoon with.
Great movie.
You guys knew I had to get a Chucky movie in here.
Yeah.
Number seven, I'm going next to you with Child's Play 2.
thought it was better than the original.
Number six, I heard somebody mention this one,
American werewolf in London.
It's surprised nobody's mentioned this one yet.
Number five would be Dawn of the Dead,
the shopping mall zombie movie.
Now we're getting to the meat of it.
Number four for me is the original Nightmare on Elm Street.
Number three is the original alien.
number two definitely jaws and my favorite of all time philip would be the exorcist as well
so there you have it top ten nez all right mine um i only got like two honorable mentions
well a couple uh first one being uh american wolf in london i do love that move uh also the howling
Evil Speak.
I don't know if you guys have seen that awesome film with Clinton Howard.
Right.
My favorite movie.
Can't wait to see him in Solo.
And this one, your guys' favorite.
Didn't make my top ten, but it is on honorable mentions.
The classic, the awesome, the great.
Oh, shit.
Which board?
I had to put it in there.
All right.
Number 10, Juwan.
after
listening to you guys
talk about that
last week
and I did go through
all of my
J. Horror stuff
as well as
just other Asian horror
I think that was
my favorite one
out of all of them
yeah
so that one
number nine
Friday 13th
part 5
a new beginning
I just love
that movie
um
where am I
oh number eight
uh evil dead
the original one
uh I love
that one. I know a lot of people always go to
Evil Dead too, but Evil Dead
is what started it off for me and
everyone else, and I just absolutely
love that one. Number
7, John Carpenter's The Thing,
amazing film. I am
one of the rare few that did like the
prequel. I liked it for
what it was, but the thing, it was
just an amazing film.
Number six,
probably an all-time
favorite vampire film, The Lost Boys.
Nice. Number
Five, Nightmare and Elm Street.
Three, Dream Warriors.
I know everyone loves the
original one first, but Dream Warriors is
fucking amazing film.
I hope they don't remake it, but I hear
they are, but I don't know.
Just might be fake news.
Safe news.
Number four, this awesome
1977 classic
car.
I love this.
The car?
Yeah.
This movie's fucking awesome.
Number three, the original Halloween.
I have to put that in there.
I mean, it's just a must for every horror fan.
Number two, my all-time favorite zombie film,
even though they only said zombie once in the old film.
George A. Romero, rest in peace.
His classic, Dawn of the Dead.
My number one, the 1980.
Slasher classic, my all-time favorite horror film.
Nothing is ever topped this Friday the 13th.
All right.
That makes sense.
Solid list.
All right, cool.
So it sounds like we're finally celebrating horror here on the horror returns, right guys?
Yeah.
100th episode.
It took us 100 episodes with a lot of superhero bullshit and Star Wars to get here.
But, oh, wait a minute.
Hey.
What do I see here on my sheet?
What movie are we reviewing?
Aye, aye, aye. All right.
Really quick, really quick.
Lance, have you seen the car?
No, but I've heard a lot of good things about it, man.
What?
Come on.
Never seen it, man.
Never seen it.
I need to fix that, huh?
No.
You know what?
I promise you I will watch it this weekend, definitely.
Yeah?
It's fucking, I love it.
It was one of the movies
Kind of tough to bring it up
But my mom and dad were going through problems
But they're still married
Okay
This was a movie that my mom took us to see
Because her and my dad were arguing
And she just had to leave the house
So she took me and my brother
To go see this film
And I was sad because they were fighting
But after this movie
I was like, oh my God, this movie's fucking awesome
It's cheese, 70s cheese
but this movie is fucking amazing.
I know there's a handful of cars out there,
not from the film, because I guess the original,
somebody has it, but nobody knows where it is.
I follow the car Facebook page.
Right.
A dude in the UK, he's got one that he made himself.
And there's a few others spread out throughout the world,
but nobody really knows where the original one that they used in the film.
Um, if anyone knows, let me know, because I, I, I, I, I, I, I'd like to see it. I mean, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd, I'd just'd
it is, but I, I'd, I'd, I had it on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. So, I mean, I, I, I absolutely
love this film. And another quick thing, there is a die cast car of it that came back out,
I want to say in the 90s. You cannot find it anywhere. They just quit making it. I see them on
eBay every now and then, but they want crazy amounts of money for it. If anyone sees one somewhere
out there, I'll pay 100 for it. Nothing more than that. Give these guys a shout out and let them know
where I can
purchase this thing because I want one.
It's just a little die-cast car, but
I had it once in my hands at Toys R Us.
Rest in peace, Tours of R Us,
but I should have bought it,
and I fucking kicked myself
every day that I didn't, and now people
want millions of dollars for this thing,
and it's fucking...
My childhood in a film,
and, oh, man, I love it.
If you guys do get a chance, check that movie out.
Don't expect much, but it's an awesome film.
I found it right here.
here online.
Yeah?
James Brolin?
Yes.
Okay.
Ronnie Cox.
It's got to be good.
I loved it.
All right.
Well, look, you guys are ready for the featured attraction, right?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Before we do, though, Phil, do you have access to your email?
Yes.
We just got a last-minute feedback that's, I think it's pretty much pertainting.
to the 100th episode.
Oh, okay.
Let's see here.
See if you can pull that up, man, and add this into the mix here tonight.
Oh, okay.
There we go.
It says, hey guys, Donnie Rings here from the Horror Mafia.
That's the man, Nez.
Yeah.
I've just finished listening back to our episode.
Apparently, I forgot to expand on my thoughts on Ring.
you, which I said I would do but never did.
Briefly, my issue is that it never makes sense for Sadako to be a killer.
She should act more as a writing wrong style of ghost.
It's a self-imposed designation where the ghost acts in order to get people to solve their murder,
making appearances to ensure that somebody stumbles upon the incident resulting in their death
and helping them to cross over to the other side.
I could explain this further if I had the chance, but I forgot about it, so it's a clumsy explanation.
And I apologize, and I wish I went on to elaborate further on the show.
However, that's all in the past, and I wish you guys sincere congrats on reaching the Epic 100th episode.
It's a huge accomplishment, and it's been fun to hear at least a small part of that journey over the last few months
and attempting to start on the back catalog.
Our two shows together have been some of my favorite record.
since I started it myself, and it means a lot that we've been able to coordinate on these, which have been a blast.
Hopefully, sometime soon, we can make the ultimate horror mafia returns crossover, but that's for the future to decide.
So from Big Bill, Baby Joey, and Terrible Tanya, we wish you guys the happiest of celebrations on the next 100 episodes of the horror returns.
Wow, man.
Damn.
Nice.
Yeah.
Thank you.
And that makes sense with the ring ghost.
That confused me too, but it was also something that was different, and I thought it was cool.
Cool. Thanks, Donnie.
Man, we appreciate that.
Pretty cool.
Nez, have you checked out their podcast yet, man?
Yeah, I have.
I like what they're about.
Definitely different, different pace than some, isn't it?
But speaking of 100th episode, man, right on, dude, you got fucking rock, and I love all you guys.
And it's only going to be right that we are going to record my 100th episode when I'm down there with you when we're in Texas.
Nice.
I thought you were already on like 200 or something, man.
No, I, McNaz, I stopped on 99 because I wanted to save it for, I wanted to save it for Texas Frightmare.
So get ready, everyone.
It's going to be a lot of us, sober and one more drunk.
So you can't get ready for that.
I'll piece it all together.
Brian, when I get back, I definitely want you on it as well.
And we'll record some when I get home.
All right.
But yeah, definitely.
Right on, dude, man, you guys fucking rock.
Big shout out to Blind Frankenstein for letting me hear about you guys.
because I wouldn't have heard about you guys as show
or much less become brothers with all of you
if it wasn't for him
because he's the one that told me,
hey man, give these guys to listen
and I did.
Big shout out to Jesse then, man.
A hundred episodes later.
Fucking the blast we had last year
and fucking cannot wait.
It's going to be crazy.
It's just going to be madness when we record.
So it might not make sense some of it,
but we're just going to have a big just what we did.
the whole
the whole time
we're there.
Join the party.
At last,
it is time for
our featured attraction.
Now this week,
I've said attraction,
not attractions,
because this week
we're only covering
one film,
and that is Avengers
Infinity War.
So the directors
were the Russo Brothers,
also known for
Captain America's Civil War
and a really
excellent TV show
called Community.
Yes, check that out.
Never have.
I've never seen an episode.
Awesome show.
You'll get into it, Brian.
You'll love it, dude.
I've heard it's good.
Yeah, it's...
Nas, you ever seen it?
I haven't.
The Z-Sieu, he always tries to get me to watch,
and I've never sat down and gave a shot yet.
Yeah, you guys need to rectify that.
It's probably one of my favorite sitcoms of all time.
It's behind married with children, but it's up there, for sure.
writers Christopher Marcus and Stephen McPheely
They were also known for writing Captain America
The Winter Soldier and The Chronicles of Narnia films
This little few pieces of trivia
Tom Holland was not
He was not allowed to read the script for the film
Since word on the street was that he revealed
Way too many secrets to his friends for Spider-Man
Homeco
There he does
That guy does not know how to shut his mouth
It makes a good Spider-Man.
All right, this is interesting.
And I noticed the one scene with the two together.
I was kind of thinking the same thing.
When are they going to do an end joke about Dr. Watson or something?
But Robert Downey Jr.'s other recurring role as Sherlock Holmes.
In his previous outings as Iron Man, he's worked with two different Dr. Watson, Sir Ben Kingsley and also Martin Freeman.
In this film, he finally works with his fellow Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbath.
The first trailer for this movie racked up more than 200 million views in 24 hours, setting a new record for the most trailer views in a single day.
After debuting Wednesday morning, the trailer earned 230 million views in its first day.
The movie's record viewership dethrones the previous champion it.
What were you going to say, Naz?
Was this the comic con trailer or the one?
one that they just released to everyone.
I think it's released to everyone because it said that it was viewed by
230 million people in one day,
so,
you know,
I'm assuming it was a legit,
not a leaked trailer,
you know what I mean?
Because the Comic-Con one,
man,
fuck.
Yeah?
Blew us all away.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well,
well,
speaking to which,
dude,
you're the guest,
so 100th episode,
we want you to go first,
man,
talking about the movie here.
Are we,
just what we thought before we spoil it?
Yeah, no spoilers yet, man.
A lot of people, well, I wouldn't say a lot of people
probably haven't seen it by the time this shows up,
but I'm sure there's still a few.
We'll do just what we regularly do.
Spoilers at the end.
This movie was fucking awesome.
I loved it.
Yes, I said it before.
I am a comic nerd.
Steve, I'm talking to you, bitch.
There was changes that I was kind of like,
okay but the changes was because they don't have those characters yet uh waiting waiting for the
fox uh crossover and and all that deal to go through oh okay i see what you're getting out
but i thought it was amazing i mean it was fucking it had us laughing they had us cheering
that had this crying
and I was like
fuck is this a fucking
Avengers film
why are tears coming out of my eyes?
Yes
Logan
had the tears pouring out of my eyes
but oh my God
I mean they did such an amazing
job with this film
and I know there's a lot of
comic readers that were pissed off
about some of the changes
I mean I was as well
but oh man
this movie's awesome
I seen it twice already
and fuck
I can't wait to go see it again
this was amazing film
all right
you guys mind if I jump in
go ahead
I don't want this to turn into
too much of a love fest
you guys knew what I thought about this man
why are they going to throw this many
fucking characters into one goddamn movie
and think that it's going to be worth the shit
or make any amount of sense whatsoever
you know I mean you talk about
top heavy and like
just way too much going on.
It's just ridiculous idea.
There's no way in the world this thing should have worked.
But you know what?
Between the script writing, between the dialogue, the acting,
everybody seemed like they were really into it.
I mean, special effects, what do we even need to say about
how much money they had to spend to throw into this?
I would say this is probably the greatest, most epic superhero movie I've ever seen in my life.
Lance, you fucking had me worried.
Man, I tell you what.
At first, right?
Yeah, I was like, what the fuck is happening right now?
This was so amazingly well-written.
All the dialogue matched up to each character perfectly.
You guys said something about the actor that plays Spider-Man, Tom Holland, can do no wrong.
He definitely did no wrong in this movie.
He had a great role.
And the minute that he was, and I'm not giving anything away,
because this is right in the trailer,
but when the hair on his arms was standing up
and you get that throwback to the spidey sense
from the old cartoon,
dude, this was a great movie, man.
His entrance is awesome.
It was amazing.
I got to go re-watch this again, too,
just to keep up with how many storylines are going on.
But everything made sense.
It played from one scene right to the next seamlessly,
just extremely well-written movie,
and that is not what I was expecting.
Who's not yet?
I'm going to second everything you guys said.
This movie met all my expectations.
It hit all those emotional beats.
I've been waiting to see certain characters interact.
And then when I got that, I was not disappointed, not one bit.
This is up there with one of the best superhero movies.
I have not seen it a second time, but I plan on seeing it a second time.
This might be up there.
this is this movie was fucking amazing and i cannot wait to get into spoilers
yeah i mean there's not a whole lot you can say about it without getting too much into
spoilers everybody that was in this was on their a game um
there were a couple of things that maybe disappointed me a little that i wish they could
have changed but i'm sure we'll be rectified in the next one right um
I thought
Thanos was
a villain
on par with Darth Vader
He was believable
He was believable
That is how kick-ass
This movie is to me
And I think you're right
I think it is the best
Comic book movie
That I've seen so far
I think that everything
Has led up to this
And they gave us a masterpiece
This killed it
It was amazing
I've seen it twice
And I'm ready to go watch it again
Right now
It was
It was an event
If you haven't seen this movie
Go see it
Yeah
If you haven't seen any other superhero movie
Go see this one
It's amazing
But you have to see everything else
To get it all
To really appreciate it, yeah
Speaking of which
There's not too much more
We can see
Without spoilers is there
No
I guess we'll go scores, huh?
Let's go scores, Ness.
What I was talking about is that Silver Surfer was a big part.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
We're not spoiling yet.
I thought you were.
No, no, no, scores.
Scores.
Well, edit that then.
No, it's all good, man.
Sorry, everyone.
I'm going to give it an eight.
Eight, that's it?
Yeah, because...
I'm a comic nerd, so...
Right?
Yeah, I can give it an 8.
I mean, that's still good.
I mean, it's still fucking awesome, but I just, I'm a comic nerd.
Yeah, good deal.
Yeah, I'm going a little higher, man.
I'm going a little higher.
I'm actually going 8.5, and I was kind of wobbling between even 8.5 and 9,
but there's something that, again, like Phil said, I'm sure it's going to be rectified in the next movie.
so, you know, that one might be a nine,
but this one definitely a very, very strong 8.5.
I am going to go a 9 out of 10.
I had a few issues in there,
which I will bring up in spoilers,
but overall, this was a fantastic fucking movie.
Wow, man, I expected them.
I expected the scores to honestly be higher.
It's pretty high scores, Dave.
I know, I know.
And I'm crazy for doing it.
doing this, but I think
I think I'm seeing the future.
I'm going to give it a 10.
Yeah?
You're not the first one.
I've seen a lot of tens.
That's cool.
It's pretty kick-cast, man.
This is an epic movie.
It is one to re-watch and re-watch over and over and over.
It's going to be a classic.
Yeah.
And that was part of the reason that I didn't quite go nine
is it was extremely long.
But, you know, it needed to be.
It needed to be an epic, right?
And it was.
All right.
time?
I didn't think it was long enough.
I wanted more.
Yeah?
Right.
All right, Ness.
We'll tell us, spill it, man.
You read all the comics too, right?
This is a motherfucking spoiler alert.
You've been fucking warned.
This is a motherfucking spoiler alert.
You've been fucking warned.
This is a motherfucking spoiler alert.
You've been fucking warned.
Yeah.
I'm a little iffy on it all,
but I remember Silver Surfer being a really big part of this.
Mm-hmm.
What about the X-Man?
Were they a big part?
of it too?
I don't think so, but um...
Wolverine, I'm sure was in it.
I remember Dr. Strange's Silver Surfer were a big part of this, because I remember
Silver Surfer crashing into Dr. Strange's, um, his, uh, fucking his apartment or whatever
that is.
And, uh, he was coming to say that he needed to find Dr. Strange and nobody knew who he was.
And I know they couldn't put him in it because it's,
still a Fox deal.
And I don't know if we're ever going to get Silver Surfer.
I'm hoping we will, but...
That would be nice.
The ending, how sad it was.
Oh, yeah.
A lot of people were, like, really mad about it.
Not so much of what happened, but they're changing it all because I understand,
I don't know if they're going to restart it all.
because you know you can do it with these uh with the stones where you can just read rechange everything
sure yeah and i know some of the actors aren't going to continue i i know they're all going to be in
avengers four but we don't know after that well i'm sure i'm sure black panther's not done i mean
come on oh no he's not but um like like um fucking what's his name chris evans and uh robert
downy junior they kind of said the well i think this is it for us after avengers four but i don't
no, I could be wrong. Maybe they changed their mind
after this one. But
I know that the story
has changed with the ending on
how it ended.
Right. But
the ending, oh my God.
I knew
what was coming, but
I wanted to see how they were going to do it.
And that ending,
I wasn't the only
one sitting in the theater
with tears in their eyes. And it seems to
be everyone's big thing is when
when Peter
Yes
Kletch
clashing on to
Tony Stark
and I don't want to go
I was like
dead right
but that goes
that goes back to
Spider-Man
Homecoming
because there was a scene
that's one of my
favorite scenes in there
when he gets
buried under the rubble
and he's crying
because
and then you see
a kid basically
become a man
but in this scene
in this scene
you're seeing
that he's still a kid
right yeah
I mean he's a high school kid
I was just
I was blown away
with what they did
with the ending
and leaving the theater
I mean there was people man
that were like
the super duper know
the story inside it out
what the fuck
and I was like
I don't know it inside and out
but I know it enough
to where I was like
okay but I do see
what they're trying to do
just mainly I think for me
mainly is because they couldn't, they can't bring in these characters that they don't have yet.
True.
I'm like, all right, but I mean, they did what they had to do with what they have.
So I'm fine with it.
But, oh, man, I wasn't expecting to cry in this.
Thinking about it, I'm ready to cry.
But fuck, man, it was just mind-blowing.
And right before the movie starts this show, Deadpool, and we see cable.
Josh Brolin.
And then I was always kind of, why the fuck is he two characters?
And, oh, man, after this performance as Thanos,
yeah, we've seen him earlier and was the Guardians.
But, man, fuck.
I mean, I don't know if that was him walking around doing everything,
and they just added the whole CGI over him.
I think it was.
Fucking, that looked just like him.
Yeah.
But, oh, my God.
I was blown away on that.
I hope they don't kill him off.
I hope that Thanos sticks around, man.
Well, and Lance, every Marvel movie that pops up,
one of your biggest gripes about it is the villain who gets killed too quickly, you know?
Right.
They always kill off the villain.
Yeah, on this one, I think that they laid down a really amazing villain.
Absolutely.
And he's, not only is he still there, but he fucking won.
Yeah, you got the, she is in despair right now.
You got the Empire Strikes back ending.
I didn't know we were going to get that.
Yeah.
And you get so many scenes that just proves how bad ass.
I mean, he beat the Hulk's ass so bad.
He doesn't want to come out no more.
I think that's why it was, I know, big green fish.
Oh, that makes me mad.
I mean, the little few seconds that he's almost coming out, he comes out just long enough to say no.
I know.
I'm not coming out.
Say no, I'm going to be a bitch.
I'm going back to say, you get, you fucking child.
But going back to the end scene, another character that I thought portrayed that whole thing well was somebody that didn't die.
And that was, I can't think of her name from Black Panther.
Tachala's main guard.
Oh, yeah.
Talking about Michon.
Mishon.
Yeah.
Let's just call her Mishon.
Yeah, that look on her face as she's watching her king disintegrate before her eyes.
Yeah.
She was awesome in the whole movie.
Yes.
And then she had the line when Scarlet Witch shows up and she's like, why was she up there this whole time?
Yes, I love that.
That's the point I want to make the comedy.
Okay, you guys remember how much I hated the Thor movie, Ragnarok?
Yeah.
I thought the comedy was over the top and really fucking corny.
I thought the comedy in this movie was exactly where it needed to be,
when it needed to be, right on point.
And it's hilarious.
And it didn't go overboard.
And it made perfect sense, especially if you've seen the other movies, right?
Fucking drags.
Holy shit.
He was great.
All the guardians were great.
There was a thing before this movie came out,
they were talking about there was going to be, I don't know, like,
50 or 60
Marvel characters all
in one shot.
And I was thinking, how the fuck are they going to do that?
And they didn't even do that.
So I was kind of glad they didn't.
Yeah.
But, yeah, because there's, you know,
people don't understand.
We got Avengers 4 coming a year from now.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm glad to tell me what the date was.
Because I thought if we have to wait any longer than that,
I'm going to go crazy, man.
Yeah, because we're getting, we're getting,
we're getting Ant Man and the Wasp.
We're getting Hawkeye.
we're getting, you know, from the end
credit scene, we're getting Captain Marvel.
Yeah, you have to have her.
She's going to be pivotal for the Avengers 4.
Mm-hmm.
What I liked on what they did with this,
everybody wasn't
all together.
I mean, there was like,
you had fucking Thor up in space
and fucking Tony and Spider-Man in space
in other places and everyone in Wakanda
and New York and stuff like that.
I liked how everybody was spread out,
before they did get together,
a big battle at the end.
Yeah.
And I loved all that because I was,
I was sitting there thinking,
how the fuck are they going to do this with everybody?
Because I know they couldn't be everybody all at once.
So I loved what they did with that,
breaking everyone together and all finding out about Thanos
because nobody knew who it was.
And it was awesome.
And my favorite,
I mean,
I love fucking everybody in this film,
but Rocket Raccoon is the fucking shit.
and when him and
Bucky
teed up
oh yeah
yeah
oh my god
right
how much for the gun
how much for the gun
not for sale
how much for the arm
oh my god
I was
and then he's like
I'll get it
I could not
fucking believe that
I was my fucking
sorry everyone
my dick was hard as fuck
but he was
swinging rocking around
and they were just
fucking shooting
I was like
Oh my God, I fucking
was fucking about to fall out of my seat.
But the scene that fucking made me scream
was when
fucking Thanos
ran into Red Skull.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That was crazy.
As soon as you heard this voice,
I went, oh my God.
I like screamed it and people in front of me
turned around.
I was, it must have been, the first time I saw it,
must have been the high school fucking deal trip because it was nothing but teenagers in there.
And I was worried that they were going to be on their phones and talk the whole time.
Everyone was quiet.
Everyone was cool.
But, oh, my God.
But when that scene happened on Reds Gull, I knew he wasn't dead.
And we didn't, we haven't seen him since the first Captain America film.
But oh, my God.
I was like, oh, fuck.
I was just wondering where he was.
And for you walking dead fans, you know the character Aaron
Right
On the show, that's Red Skull
Yeah? Really?
Yes
Oh, who don't think?
Oh, fuck, but
Oh my God
I couldn't believe it. I mean, I was not expecting
I wasn't even thinking
He was going to pop up in this
Right
Because I rewatched the movies before
And I knew
Because I kept telling him, I
wife, he's not dead.
Because if you go watch that Captain American movie,
he looks like he's transported somewhere.
Yeah.
And I had the same reaction, too,
when I heard the voice.
I knew who exactly who the fuck it was.
I thought maybe it was the afterlife for him or something.
No.
He's still alive.
Okay.
I was stuck on that planet.
I heard a theory.
Okay, I want you guys his opinion.
I've seen a lot of reviews since I've seen the movie.
there is a theory that as far as a who's who's going to be still dead when it's all said and done
there's a theory that the people that died pre finger snap are dead are dead pre finger snap what do you mean
when thanos snapped his finger like oh demora and loki are probably dead dead dead yeah those two those two
are dead yeah i'm going to say they're probably dead dead dead that makes sense um yeah and actually
i wouldn't worry too much about zoe's
Donna, because she's got like seven more
Avatar films coming up, and you said
earlier in news, there's a new Star Trek coming
out, so. Yes. She'll be
busy anyway, right?
Well,
although they're definitely going
back to the events that happened.
I'm sorry. They're definitely
going back to the events that happened
in New York, just from the
screenshots that have been
released from the filming of Avengers
4, where they're all dressed up,
like their old school guys, you know?
Like Thor's got his long hair,
cap's got his blue and white shit on.
And then Captain Marvel takes place in the 90s.
Right.
So no telling when that time's going to happen.
So they may take back all of that Gamora dying and stuff.
Oh, I hope not.
Something's got to stay permanent, man.
Come on.
I wanted to bring up a couple things that I thought was just,
I needed some explanation in it.
When you first see Thanos, he already has a stone, and he mentions he got it from Zandar.
That's where the Novakor are from Guardians.
I wish we would have got that, him taking it.
And it didn't make sense to me for him to go there because if he's attacking Zandar, the first person they would have notified was the Guardians.
Yeah.
And we didn't get none of that.
Okay.
And another question I have is, where's Valkyry?
Oh, she did show up.
She died on the ship.
And Corg, the Taika Watiti's character from, he was also on the ship.
Oh, they must be toast then, man.
Yeah, I mean, pretty much everybody was already dead.
Everybody was toast.
And then he blew up the ship.
Heimdahl.
Heimdahl died.
Remember they stabbed him in the heart.
Well, that guy had a problem with his contract, so.
Okay.
I still don't know why he hasn't won an Oscar yet for something, you know?
Yeah.
Maybe that's still to come.
My really only, my really only plot hole issue was like during that whole Wakanda battle when Thanos shows up.
Right.
And starts like wrecking shop on everybody and turns back time and has taken the stone from vision.
And Thor finally comes in when it's, you know, just too late.
Where the fuck has he been in this whole?
time because he showed up and started
wrecking shop on those little bug
guys. Right. And then he just
disappeared for a while. And I was like
all this bad stuff is
happening and I'm like, where the fuck
did Thorgo? Because he just came
to like save
the city, you know, raining down
lightning from the gods and then
now he's gone. Oh, there
he is. Where the fuck have you been?
I liked his new look
man. This costume that
was lit up everywhere and
with that blue fire and everything, that was cool.
Oh, we go.
We got to mention Peter Dinklage.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, the biggest.
Gorge is head of hair of his.
I heard he was playing an elf or a dwarf or something,
but that's not what I was expecting.
That was cool the way they did that.
Yeah.
Yeah, I enjoyed that.
And going back to something,
that Kevin said earlier, man.
Our audience, every time
anything happened, I went to see
like the first showing on Thursday night.
So there was
definitely some fanboys
in there. But every time somebody
showed up, it was like a sitcom.
And the whole audience started
cheering, you know, and clapping.
And then when things were funny,
everybody was laughing.
And it was such an amazing
experience to go to the theater and see
this just because everybody was so involved
in it.
And I know a cool crowd.
I know Brian, you said your theater experience was not so great again?
For my wife.
Oh.
Oh.
We had a row that constantly kept getting up.
Oh, no.
Oh.
And my wife's always about, you know, comic courtesy, you know, excuse me, all that stuff.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And there might have been somebody that kicked over her popcorn and just kept walking and
well that's not a good time at the movies
it was fine for me
I was too into the movie I didn't give a fuck
but
how about you nez
what was your what was your experience man
oh it was good
I thought it was going to be bad because all the teenagers
was in there but now I was fucking everyone
quiet everybody was cool
the movie was fucking amazing
we are going to go over it on East Society
but probably not until
I think tomorrow when we record.
Blind Frankenstein will be on with us.
But this fucking film,
I got to see it again.
I mean, there's so much more.
And if you do want to read into more of the story,
read all the Infinity Gauntlet
and everything after that.
I mean, there was so much to take in in that,
and there's so much to take in
in this first part of the film.
From what I understand, they're going to stretch it into three movies,
but I don't know.
I mean, we don't know.
all the contract stuff
with everyone
but
well I read that
I read that after four
is going to be an all new storyline
oh yeah
and you were bringing up
Secret War
that might be the storyline
that I'm reading
there was rumors
that how when everyone
disappears
right that's where they're going
I'm like
I don't know
but we'll see
that's all I could say
right
well let me
no I'm sorry
go ahead man
there's something I want to bring up
but you go first
no I mean that's what I was gonna say
me that's and you know
there might be something
to what you were saying earlier
because I'm here rumors
about secret war
and they're saying that
and after Avengers
4 Spider-Man
the next Spider-Man movie
kicks off that whole story
the next new storyline
so
so let me ask you this
I know this is a weird question
but if you're talking about another movie being in there,
do you think it's possible that the people that,
like,
turned to ashes and blew away,
aren't really dead,
just in an alternate universe somewhere?
Well,
there's somebody saying,
there's people saying they're in the soul stone.
Ah.
That their souls have been captured.
That's what they're saying.
Okay, that makes sense.
They haven't read any of the comic books,
so, Nez, you got a leg up on us on this one, man.
Oh, fuck.
Yeah, I mean, but I don't know.
We can't.
They can't get into it because of characters that should have been there weren't,
and they're not in the...
Disney doesn't own them yet, so...
But maybe they will by then.
Hopefully, but then you're going to bring them in now,
but I don't know.
I mean, we'll see what they're going to do with all this once they get all the Fox stuff
with the Fantastic Four and X-Men and everyone else.
Yeah, I can't see.
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, said don't expect any of those characters anytime soon.
Oh, I don't care how long it takes.
I'm just talking about for this storyline.
Okay.
Well, yeah.
But like for them to get that Wolverine rights and put a new character in there and make a new Wolverine movie in this Marvel universe, oh my God, I cannot wait for that.
Off, kind of off subject.
Have you guys heard the rumor of, what's his name, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt wanting to be in the Fantastic Four?
I heard that.
I'm going to be all right with that.
Yeah, I'd be okay with that.
Another Fantastic Four reboot, really?
Well, within the MCU.
Yeah.
You got to let Disney have it.
They haven't been wrong yet, man.
And with them already being husband and wife, I think it could work.
Yeah.
Maybe.
They need them, so they need to bring them in.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Who would play Johnny Storm, you think?
Well, the rumor was...
They had a hell of a cast on the last one, and it sucked.
And it sucked.
Yeah, the rumor was Zach Ephron.
Oh.
And then...
How about Dave?
No.
They could bring back Michael B. Jordan.
There you go.
And then, I guess the other rumor was John
Sina as the thing.
Oh, yeah.
I like that.
I don't mind that at all.
Yeah.
Yeah, I can see that.
Why not?
Why not?
Give it a shot.
I'm behind that.
Yeah.
I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.
I'd hate to cut my visit short, but I need to step away from this.
It's all good, man, on that, I think on that note, we're pretty much wrapping up anyway.
No, you guys should keep going.
I'm sure you got plenty more to say, but
again, brothers,
congratulations on 100th episode, man.
It doesn't seem like 100 episodes
was already here.
I mean, fuck, man.
It's been so fast for you guys, as well as me
and the East Society were almost there.
But fucking,
if you guys
are, this is your first time hearing them, you got
99 episodes to listen to.
but fuck man
this this is amazing
for you guys and me as well as
being a part of your guys's family
as well as you being a part of mine
and I got nothing but love for you guys
and I always hype you up whenever I can
but other than that man
fucking Avengers Infinity War
everyone go see it multiple times
there's so much in this film
you'll get more and more each time you see it
and go back and read the
comic books as well if you want to know more
So, but for me right now, I do got to step away from the mic, so.
All right, Naz.
Hey, real quick, man, before you head out, other than Frightmare next week, what, what you got coming up?
Up to the challenge we got going.
I don't even remember the last one we did, but we fucking, most definitely will be doing more.
And East Society, we're going to also be talking about Avengers as well.
and I can't remember what else we're talking about.
Disease who knows all that.
I just go with the flow.
I heard you talk about it.
Last thing I heard was Class of 84.
That was the U.C.
I think I heard that last week.
That was our new up to the challenge.
The next one will be out
probably shortly after we do East Society.
But again, dude, thank you so much
for letting me be a part of it all.
And I will see you guys all next week.
All right.
Thank you, brother.
All right, man.
Peace.
Peace.
All right, you guys ready to close out?
Let's close it out.
Yeah.
Go see it.
It's awesome.
Yeah, for sure.
We could talk for hours, but we try to keep our shows under two, and we're a little bit over that.
So we're good.
I think anybody that listens to our show, you gave it a good rating.
So this movie has to be fucking amazing.
Yeah.
It was pretty amazing.
I can't wait to see it again, frankly.
Color me surprised.
you know, whatever.
So anyway, as always,
we want to thank you guys
for listening to another,
actually the 100th episode
of The Horror Returns.
We'd love to hear your feedback and ideas.
You can always reach us
at the Horror Returns at gmail.com.
Look for us on Facebook, iTunes, etc.
Next week, obviously,
we're going to have the episode
dealing with Texas Frightmare
that we do every year,
but I believe we're also going to touch
on a couple of kind of weird twists
on home invasion.
Brian?
Yeah, I believe we are going to...
I don't even have my list, but here it is.
Bad Samaritan.
Bad Samaritan starring...
Fuck, I don't have my notes.
He was the Purple Man and Jessica Jones.
The British actor.
He was Doctor Who.
I can't think of his name either.
Yeah.
And we're also going to be reviewing
The Perfect Host, which is also...
It's on Netflix.
It's also a home invasion movie.
home invasion.
Home invasion.
Philip, until the horror returns again.
Buenos Natchos.
Woo!
