and the foulest of language.
Join us in celebrating the old and the new,
the best, and the worst in horror.
To the horror returns.
I'm Lance, and with me as always,
my co-host, Brian, Philip.
And what is that I hear?
Is that, is that, Naz?
Is that Nez in the background?
Finally joining his first show.
You know it.
What's up, Nez?
Yo, I'm here.
Tell us all about your new purchase, man.
Oh, was at a Halloween 45 years of terror convention down in Pasadena, California?
Me and Mike, we went over there just to see what I was expecting it to be bigger,
but it was a decent size.
They had pretty much everybody and the mother that was in any of the Halloween throughout the whole franchise.
They had just about everybody that played Michael Myers, young and old.
Even in the Rob Zombie, they had those guys there.
Who else?
John Carpenter was there on Sunday, I heard.
He wasn't there Saturday when we went.
But we met a few people.
We met Nancy Loomis, the chick that played Annie.
Oh, yeah.
The kid that played Michael Myers in the first one, the very beginning.
a little kid. He was much older now.
We met him.
We talked to
he was in Jaws Revenge and Last Starfighter.
Lamb.
The main guy.
The blonde guy, right?
Michael Kane.
No.
The guy that played Mike.
He was Alex
and
Last Starfighter.
Anyway, him.
Lance, somebody.
uh he was cool we we talked a little bit about Halloween 2 oh that's why he was in
Halloween 2 we talked about that he was he was the one that was trying to get at uh
Laurie strode when she was um he was one of the paramedic drivers the EMTs
uh talked to him I asked him about that scene when um he slipped in the blood and slams his
head on the ground I said did you really hit your head he said yeah he was like they are asking
up they wanted to lay something under him or under it but he's like no i think i could do it um so he was
on his knees and then just fell back no he was like sitting up and then just fell backwards that's how
they got the shot but he said he rung his bell because he hit his head so hard because if you've
seen the film you know the scene it just clearly looks like he just his head bounced and i still taste
purple i had to talk about uh jaws of revenge i had to ask him how that went
man, he was, he kind of went, I know people don't like it.
I said, not me. I said, I love that movie.
So he was cool about that. Oh, we met Malcolm McDowell.
Oh, wow. Yeah, he was there. So Mike had his, um, Alex Delage, uh, figure sign from Clockwork Orange.
Who else did we meet?
Was, uh, was William Shatner there, the one who started it all with the mask?
No, but there was like, everybody.
and the mom that made those masks
had them all there.
So that was really cool to see all that.
Who else did we meet?
Oh, the guy that
was the director for
Never Hike in the Snow.
I can't remember his name.
He also played Jason
in the film. So I was talking to him.
I was just kind of walking around and I saw
Never Hike Alone, Blue Ray.
And I was looking at that and I was trying to think, do I have this one?
Because mine was a different cover.
It came with alternate covers.
And the guy I was talking to, yeah, here's the director right here.
I didn't even notice him because he was on his phone.
And I went, holy shit.
So I called my son and said, hey, go see which never hike alone I had.
And he said, you have the one that wasn't the one they had.
It was a different cover.
Because I remember that cover looked cool and I wanted it.
But they sold out of those really fast.
But I guess they did a reprint.
So I bought one of those because that movie is awesome
If it did make my best of list out you shout out to Brian here
He's the one to hit me to that one
And they said that later this month
Part 3 is coming out to that one
Well it's supposed to be never hike alone part 2
But they did drop that never hiking the snow one
So I'm all he says ready
He's ready to go it's going to be on YouTube
So it's going to be for free so Brian we're going to have to do that one of course
Who else did I mean?
meet. Oh, there was another guy I met. I don't have the movie in front of me. It was some indie movie like Hell Van. I think that's what it was called. He showed me the trailer and I was talking to him. So he goes, yeah, man, check it out. Then let me know what you think about it. I told him, so we'll come on the show. And he goes, I'll come on the show. Even if you love it or you hate it. I said, well, I don't want to, I don't want to bash it while you're interviewing you. So.
Yeah. I don't know if they never hack a guy. I don't know if I'm pronouncing his name right, but Vincenti, Desanti. Yeah. We'll go with that. But he gave me all his information as well. And he said, yeah, man, give me a call. And I'll come on the show. So at some point, we got we got to get a hold of him. But who else did we meet?
I think that was, we met so many people that day.
That's the high points, right?
Yeah, but the actors that we meant were really cool.
We went to the Halloween 3 season of the Witch Panel.
Tom Atkins was there.
They were selling these figures, these figures, exclusive figures that were only sold there.
I should have got one.
I'm kicking myself in the ass right now because they sold out super fast that day.
Was Tom Hackens figure?
Yeah, and they're going for.
a pretty penny now on eBay.
I bet. Did his figure come with a six-pack of beer?
I want to say it did.
Because during the panel, he was saying, he goes, man, because I didn't ever think I'd have two action figures.
Because he's got one for nine of the creeps. And he goes, I got guns. And then he said the
Halloween three one, he goes, I got beer. So I'm just going by what he said.
Right. Brian nailed it. Miller Highlight.
Yeah, I never, I didn't get a chance to get that night of the creeps one. And that one's
going for like big money on eBay.
I felt bad because he,
I don't know how this gentleman is,
but he was like hard of hearing in one ear.
And it was the side that the guy that was
hosting the panel, he was talking.
And Tom was like, I can't,
I can't hear you out of this ear.
So he had to go up and text it.
And then he was answering those questions.
He was there.
There was an older lady there.
I can't remember who she was in the film.
and then the young girl that
the Tom was banging
the one that turned out to be a robot.
She was there.
And the director,
Tommy Lee Wallace, he was there.
So they talked about it and they were just going like,
yeah, man, he goes, we didn't think
this movie was going to be
what it is today.
He goes, because when it came out, hardly anybody saw it.
Everyone said it sucked.
But as the years went on, everyone just loves it.
And it's like a super cult classic.
I loved it the first time I saw it.
when it was brand new, but when it first came out.
So I don't know what else everybody else wanted.
But it was cool.
I also, oh, we went at that same day, that same night, we went to Beverly Hills and we went to a screening of Hell House LLC.
The first time I saw that movie was on my phone.
And then I saw it once it hit YouTube on my TV screen.
So we got to see it on the big screen with an audience.
It was pretty packed.
It wasn't super packed, but there was a lot of people on there.
And that made it more awesome because people that had never seen.
There was a lot of people that hadn't seen it.
And they were in there.
The ladies that were in front of us were screaming their heads off.
So I thought that was awesome.
That made me jump when they would start screaming to see it with a crowd.
It was hosted by Matt and Tim from Happy Horror Time podcast.
Shout out to them.
Shout out to the podcast spotlight.
Yeah, I told him that we brought him up on the show.
and their producer
the guy that does all the editing
he was like yeah man he goes I know you
you're one of them I said I'm like a part time guy
but yeah
A part time you're full time come on
But he was he was cool man
All three of those guys were cool
Just talking to them
And then the girl that played Sarah
I can't remember her name
She was there and one of the producers
So they had a question and answer after the screening
And it was cool
And it was an old little vintage Beverly Hills
theater that was probably super big back in the day, but then it turned into a little art house
theater. I don't like those art. I love the art house theaters, but the popcorn, I don't know if it
was those organic, hippie, hippie shit. I don't know, man. No, it was salted popcorn. No, it was
salted, but I don't know. There's a difference. When you're used to the old, the fake sentry or
regal or whatever. You might have gotten a hold of the children of the
corn urban harvest special.
Oh man, but I had a vood.
They were selling brew in their beer, so I had a voodoo ranger.
Man, that shit was strong.
I was strong, dude.
I only had one candy.
I was already, I was fitted.
That's all it takes.
But it was cool.
We had an awesome weekend down there.
Halloween, 45 years of terror.
I can't believe 45 years.
That just shows how old we are, Lance.
And to see them, I think.
I think the highlight of the con was talking to Nancy Loomis, the one that played Annie.
Because I was always, I was always in love with her.
She was also in the fog, and she had a little small part in Halloween 3.
And I was telling her, I said, out of the three, out of you and Jamie Lee and PJ, I said,
you were the one that I was in love with the most.
And she kind of like went, oh, really?
I said, yeah.
So she kind of gave me a hug, and it was all good.
But I didn't have anything to sign.
I just went to hang out with Mike.
But those lines were long to get signatures from your favorites in there.
There was one guy I wanted to meet.
He played Michael Myers in Halloween 5, I think.
He's a native American guy.
Damn, what the hell was his name?
He was also on Revenge of the Ninja.
Remember, Brian?
He was the Indian guy.
The guy that was defeated by crates.
Yeah, him.
He played a guy from India?
No, like Native American guy.
He was a native.
I can't remember his name.
But looking at him, he had a tank top of all.
Man, he had guns still.
I don't know how old he was.
He was in pretty good shape.
I wanted to talk to him, but there was always tons of people at his table.
But at a meeting, everyone.
I wanted to talk to that one kid that played Michael Myers,
that's young Michael Myers and Rob Zombie's Halloween.
The zombie one, yeah.
I can't remember that.
He's got a difficult name to pronounce that.
That kid, he was there.
He's super tall now.
Yeah.
He's got all the shit in his face.
I mean, no disrespect for those of you that have the piercings in your face.
Oh.
That's his thing, man.
That's his thing.
Yeah.
Got a lot of cranial accessories.
Yeah, we talked to him before, and he was really cool.
And then the other kid that was right next to him who played Michael in Halloween 2,
Rob Zombie's Halloween.
too. He was there. And I kind of just said, hey, what's up to him? But yeah, man, it was an awesome time.
Halloween con, the Hellhouse screening and hanging out with the happy horror time guys.
Again, shout out to Matt and Tim. You guys rule. And yeah, man, that was a fun weekend.
And now I'm paying for it because I don't know what I caught something down there because I feel like shit.
Oh, come on. It's all in your head, man. Come on.
No, man. I don't know. It was a stomach bug.
The brown flu.
running back and forth to the
point. So hopefully I don't have to
leave while we're doing this.
All right. Let's move along.
Philip, cool of the week. You want to get a start?
Cool of the week, man.
Don't say it.
Don't say it. Don't say it.
Because it was awesome.
Cowboys are finally back. Maybe. I don't know.
Depends on which team shows up.
But I did.
I also finally got a chance to watch Barbie.
And it was not near as bad as I
expected it to be. It was actually pretty funny.
Wow, an endorsement for Barbie
from Philip. Brian, did you ever expect it?
Wasn't a terrible movie. Wasn't a terrible movie.
I could see Philip liking it because it's not
you probably have this idea of what the movie's going to be
going into it and that's not what the movie is.
Yeah, no, I figured it was going to be super woke
and they definitely talked about the patriarchy
a little too much, but it was so on the nose
and in contrast to the little Barbie world
that it wasn't so
over the top
yeah
yeah I thought it would be like a kid
a kid's movie it definitely wasn't that right
no
they definitely mentioned
Ken not having genitalia a few times
which is pretty funny
I need a Mojo Casa
or the Mojo Dojo Casa house
yeah I was I was looking
I was looking for that faux fur
coat, but it's hard to find
guys. I went to three different costume
shops. I'm sure they're going to sell
that Mojo Dojo Casa house
because as much money is that
much money is that movie made.
Yeah.
Some bruskey beers.
He's got to come with the truck.
He looked like a Logan or
whatever the other guy. The Paul
Brothers? Yes.
He looked like one of those guys.
That movie was
awesome. I loved it. I loved it.
I saw it twice.
I don't know if I'm 10 on 10 like you, Naz, but I'm up there.
Oh man, that was a definite 10.
That was elegan.
Yeah.
It surprised me.
I was excited.
I was a good movie.
Yeah, I went into thinking like, okay, I'll just see it to talk about it.
Because it was, it was everywhere.
Everybody was promoting it.
Every commercial you saw, it was a billion times.
Every time I went to the movies, they showed that trailer.
So it was kind of like beating into you.
And I said, you know what?
let me just go check it out.
Yeah, I was probably the only dude.
No, I don't think so, man.
The only old guy in there.
Okay. It felt a little creepy.
I sat way in the back.
I'm sure they probably didn't like that.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
But, man, that movie was hell of good.
What's you got, Brian?
I only got one that I can talk about, everything else.
You have to go to the Skater Ness Podcast Network to hear those.
And Lance you and me are going to be doing our weekly updates also.
So cool the week's going to be light for the month of October.
But I did get one movie and I could talk about it, and that's Blue Beetle.
Oh, okay.
I thought this movie was pretty fucking good.
I kind of went in with low expectations, just how the current DC movies were going.
But it was a fun little movie.
I can't remember the
Cobra Kid's name.
Zolo, Mediwana.
Marijuana.
That is name?
I don't think I've ever seen it for.
He's pretty
fucking solid in the movie, but the one thing that
really sold me in the movie was his family.
It was a tight-knit
Hispanic family that
seemed very
relatable on how close
they were.
And I enjoyed all that.
Plus, I don't think in Cobur Kai you really get to see him represent his Hispanic heritage in that show, like he does in this movie.
So I thought that was pretty cool.
The villain was kind of, you know, it was kind of a throwaway lackluster villain.
Oh, yeah, I got you.
But it's more so setting up this character because James Gunn came out and said that this character is going to be in the new DC.
I think DCU is what they're calling it.
I was excited to hear that news that they're going to
bring him along. They're not going to cut him loose after this movie.
So action sequences were pretty good.
And, yeah, it's just a fun movie.
Nice.
It was DC's Iron Man, Iron Man.
Is that what you saw it as?
It's pretty much.
I mean, pretty much.
I mean, it's a scarab is like an alien weapon that attaches itself to his body.
and it's kind of like an Ironman suit
and it talks to him in his head
and come up with any weapon he could think of.
The Scarab, though, that's kind of like
Moon Knight, right?
Not quite.
I'm tapped out on that show.
All right, all right.
I didn't finish that one either.
It was good.
I mean, Blue Beetle, I liked it.
For not knowing much about it.
I remember the old Blue Beetle.
this one was a
re-sparking of it because
he's not the original
blue beetle they mention him
so hopefully we get to see him at some point
and I did love all the
I saw it with a whole Mexican crowd
a lot of families that first night it came out
so there was subtitles for all the Spanish
but then there was some stuff that wasn't subtitled
and everybody was laughing and I had no idea
what they were saying
But it was cool, though.
It was a good experience to see it in the theater with that packed house.
And I thought it was a good movie.
Definitely making my best of a comic book movie.
We didn't get that many anyway.
But it's higher up on the list.
And another thing I liked, it was a self-contained movie.
I mean, there's references to like Batman and stuff like that.
But there's nothing that you have to watch this movie to understand this movie.
this movie leads into another movie
this is a Blue Beetle movie
so
yeah that's what I was a standalone
yeah so they let this character shine
instead of throwing in Wonder Woman
and Flash and throwing all these other
characters thinking
oh black oh rock
you tried to take over Warner Brothers
didn't work
I liked the black Adam
I liked the movie too but just
everything I heard he was trying to strong
I'm trying to try to this is this is how DC should go from from my movie on and it's like it's not about your movie guy it's about the picture
I wonder if that's why Ben Diesel had such an issue with him yeah because it seems like uh seems like that's a tight-knit cast and everybody got along it just seemed like the rock was the one that was the
uh-oh is the rock really an asshole
Well, hey, we'll see how he does his president.
We'll see if we actually enter into it.
Idiocracy when he becomes president.
He's got to come back to doing at least one more
WrestleMania first.
All right.
Net, yes.
Hey, man, I vote for Terry Cruz.
I'd say that right now.
What's that?
I'd vote for Terry Cruz.
I'd tell you that right now.
President Camacho.
President Camacho.
Let's do it.
Former wrestler reports.
star.
That's right.
Ness, what's your,
what's your big one this week, man?
All right.
It was a shocker.
It happened over the weekend up in
Seattle, Washington.
So,
ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls,
children of all ages,
welcome to a quick little segment
of the wrestling returns.
And it was a shocker.
We all,
if you watch wrestling,
you all knew it was coming,
but it was,
the return
well not the return
but the
moving started to cut the music before they cut us off
but
Adam Copeland
rated Rated R Us superstar
Edge for all you get the don't know
is all elite
he signed
with AEW
and I
I knew it was coming
because
everybody knew he
He was coming to his end with WWE.
So he was going to go over to AEW where Christian is.
Uncle, I can't remember what these kids called him, whatever his real name is.
So, but he's not, he said he's not going to do what he did in WWE and just show up whenever they needed him.
He's going to be a full time.
He's going to do the house shows.
He's going to be on every, every night either dynamite or,
What's the one on Friday?
Collision.
Collision.
He's going to, I guess he's going to go back and forth and work his storyline in.
I watched the press conference after the event, and he said that it was, he's in.
He's in for the long haul until he's pretty much done with his career.
But he wanted to end it with his buddy.
So, we'll see where it goes.
He's 49.
He's 49.
I was going to say, I was like, shit, I'm older.
I'm older.
Never too old.
I was like, shit, I'm older than him.
You got to bring his wife because you know they got to cut her loose.
They somebody asked if she was coming and he was like, I can't speak for her.
She goes on.
She's.
That's, yes.
Yeah, she's too busy being a wife, too busy being a mom.
He goes, I'm just kind of focusing on me right now.
He goes, yes, I focus on my family as well.
But he goes, he goes, I don't know.
I can't speak for her.
And I don't know.
He goes, that was awesome.
he still has the same music.
That's what somebody said.
They said, they said,
WWE doesn't own that.
He said, no, Alterbridge owns it.
I guess he's friends with one of the guys that wrote it.
So when he had called him up and asked him,
when he first asked him with, hey, man, can I use that?
He said, yeah, sure, go for him.
So he used it for early years.
And then when he came back to WWE, he still used it.
He changed it a little when they were kind of doing the brute
thing, which I didn't care for. But then
he kept using the metal
Langus or whatever it was called.
And he did it again, but
the beginning is changed.
Because it used to be, you think you know
me. Now it's like you think you know him
or something like that. And then that song kicks
in. He said, Dave, W.W.
doesn't own it. He, uh, Alterbridge
does and they're just letting him use it. So
that's why I was happening. A.W.
They'll, they, if you're big enough
star, they'll pay for copyrighted music for you.
They'll pay for the money, huh?
So, but it was cool. I was happy that he came over. I don't know. He said he's really happy that he's going to be able to work with a lot of people that he's never worked with. He mentioned Samoa Joe. He mentioned Sting.
I'd see him punk. Oh, not anymore. He mentioned Darby Allen. And what's the big dinosaur guy's name?
Lutosaurus? Yeah, he said he really wanted to work with him. And he mentioned some other guys.
Yeah, that was big.
You know what luchadors are, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, he's got like a dinosaur-looking mask.
It's pretty fucking cool looking.
That's awesome.
But he's like, he's like six, nine, six-ten.
Oh, okay.
Wow.
Yeah, he's a big-ass dude.
So I think that would be cool.
But yeah, I was happy.
Of course, we knew it was coming.
We just didn't know when.
And then he made his appearance at Russell Dream in Seattle.
So I was pretty stoked.
I caught it afterwards.
One of my friends went, hey, man, are you watching A-E-W?
I said, no, I'm not at home yet.
And then he just sent me the clip.
And I was like, oh, man.
I mean, of course, like I said, I knew it was coming,
but it was awesome to see.
And the crowd just blew up,
but you can't see those some guys that were just standing there,
like, it didn't care.
Yeah, there's been a lot of talk about these.
I'm sorry, if anybody gets offended,
these whiny ass
WVE nerds.
They're like,
oh,
he's WWE.
He needs to,
he can go wherever.
He's a grown-ass man.
He can go to whatever company he wants to.
Right.
His contract is done,
man.
He could have signed,
resigned,
but he wanted to move on
to another company.
He probably wanted to wrestle more in WWE.
It was kind of like,
no,
well,
you wrestle when we need you to wrestle.
And he kind of wanted to,
he's probably wanting to,
he's getting to the end of his career.
And he probably wants to wrestle.
as much as he can to get it all out.
And they were probably like, no, we only need you a few times a year.
And AW's like, you can come over here and wrestle as much as you want.
And we'll pay you a whole bunch of fucking money to.
That's a no-brainer.
They're doing something.
They're doing something later this week in Stockton.
I would like to go when I got to work.
So that's out of the question.
But I'm happy that he's continuing to.
career. Maybe this is it after this run. I don't know how long he's going to he signed with them,
but I was happy. But as far as cool the week, that was mine.
Other than the convention and movie screening I went to earlier.
And wrestling return will return when we get a review next week, uh, WWE Faseling this weekend.
Oh, that's right. Uh, return to John Cena and his bald spot.
maybe he's
paying it over it
Brian
no he hasn't been for wrestling
I mean he's still got that movie star
comb over or not comb over
with the hair combing back
but when he turns around
and the camera's facing him
he gets a good look at that bald spot
not the movies
it's CGI or they get that spray
yeah it fix it with the movies
spray
all right
my cool of the week is a little
is a little trailer that I saw
so we went to see
AJ
AJ did go with me to see Saw X, and so did Addison.
Really?
Yeah, oh yeah, it was cool, man.
Family Affair, big time.
So, I don't know why.
For Saw X, we got a couple of Art House trailers at the beginning.
It was weird.
Like, a second trailer for that female Frankenstein movie, Brian,
that you had us watch the trailer with Willem Defoe in it.
Oh, and old Far Eyes.
What's her name?
That's the one.
So I'm like, what the fuck are we watching?
Poor things.
The poor things.
Poor things.
Poor things.
That was the first trailer.
And then we got one with the kid from
Banchies of Inichron,
the one from killing of a sacred deer.
That was talking like this
to Colin Farrell.
You killed my mother in surgery,
and I'm going to make you.
Barry Kogan?
Yes.
I don't even know if I got through that movie.
You didn't miss much.
But after that, Poison Girls,
got a treat.
Okay, I'm totally on board.
I am on the Joel Kinneman
bandwagon, guys. Yes,
sympathy for the devil wasn't that great,
but this new movie
coming out, Silent Night,
looks like the best fucking
revenge movie I've seen in a long
time of a trailer for, and directed
by the famous John Wu.
So how bad can it be?
This fucking thing from start to finish,
it was the red band trailer.
So you got Joel Kinneman running.
Like in a Santa Claus, like a Rudolph sweater, ugly sweater, with a red nose bobbing up and down.
And you're wondering, what the fuck is this?
And you hear Christmas music?
And then all of a sudden, you know, they break out the gunfire with him and his son both there.
Blood everywhere.
So you know what happened.
And it looks like it's the Christmas Revenge movie that we've been waiting for, man.
So I don't know if you guys get a chance to see the trailer for Silent Night, but check it out.
thing's going to be. This is a Christmas movie
we need. And I can sneak this
in. I turned around and looked at AJ and I
said, yes, I jumped up in the movie theater
and I said, that's going to be on our 31 days of Christmas
this year. Whether you like it or not, mixed between all the
fucking Hallmark movies. I was going to ask you
which Hallmark movies getting bumped.
I don't know, man, but I'm about to find something because this
motherfucker is making the list no matter what.
I don't know. John Wu, to me,
fell off. When it comes with...
I think he's back, dude. Check out
this trailer. Have you seen it yet? Yeah, but with his American movies, all his, uh, his Chinese
stuff is awesome. But when he brings in Americans or wherever, right, I don't know, he kind of let me down.
All right. Give him a chance. Give him a chance. We'll see. You know you're going to watch it.
I'm going to see it, but I'm not like super hype for it like you are. I was like, I was in. And then it said
John Wood, then I went, whoa.
You went, wow.
Yeah, I'm like, I hope they didn't blow it all in the trailer.
Because they threw a lot in there.
Oh, yeah, they do a lot in that trailer.
They threw a lot.
That's what I'm cool.
It's got tough competition because Fat Man was hell of good and Violet night.
Last year was a hell of good.
Yep.
So, I don't know, we'll see.
But I'm going to see it.
All right.
That's Robocop, right?
Yeah, that's the new Robo.
Cup.
All right, Brian, what's in the news, man?
Everybody's going off strike, so there's got to be something, right?
It's not over yet.
The actors are not done.
Got to pay the actors now.
Can't just pay the writers.
Is that it?
Is news over?
It might be, because I'm looking here.
I don't see shit.
You know, I can almost understand, like, I haven't delved too much into the whole
strike thing.
but I get the AI concerns.
Yeah, of course.
I mean, we don't need that shit, right?
Well, it's just like CGI fire.
Get it the fuck out of there.
I would make that part.
If I was the head of the Writers Guild,
I would say,
first demand, no more CGI fire, period.
Real fire again, motherfucker.
Bring back, make fire great again.
It's cheaper and safer.
Yeah, I was going to say,
we're definitely going to have more injuries.
It's horrible.
With some of these old 70s, older 80s horror films that I've been watching lately when there's no CGI.
That's when it was the all or nothing days.
Philip, Philip, we were at the, hold on, I'm sorry, Niz, but I got, before I forget, we were at the Frightmare that year when we met the Soska sisters.
Remember they talked about getting doused in fucking that chemical jelly shit, put on fire?
That's what we need, Nez.
More fire, real fire.
Sounds awesome.
that was an indie film
I interviewed that director that year
I know you did I remember
and he introduced me to all of them
so that was when I fell in love with
Jen Saskia
Oh boy
I'm struggling to find anything
We can go to trailers if you want
Yeah we might as well
There's things shit
Writers are not on strike anymore
But from what I understand the actors are
still on strike to haven't struck a deal yet.
Yay, we get shitty late night
shows back.
Oh, great.
So let's head on down.
That's it.
To the trailer park.
All right.
I couldn't have said it better.
What's you got, Brian?
Toxic Avenger.
All right.
I love the original Toxic Avenger.
Not so much the two and citizen toxic and all that.
The last temptation of Toxie.
You like when Michael Jai White pops up in those?
That was in the second.
one. I'm
They're goofy and I have all
of them. I have the whole set.
I don't think I knew there were sequels.
Toxic Avenger, the
original one was the very first trauma
film I ever seen and ever even heard of trauma.
I was watching it because it was late night
and I just wanted to see boobies and all these
movies and there was plenty in it.
And man, that movie
it's goofy and stupid
but it's awesome, especially
with the special effects, no CGI
fire all practical effects you got heads exploding you got a car running over some little kids ed
and everything else in it but this so i'm hoping that in this new one the trailer looks cool i mean
they don't they don't show much but i'm all in um elijah woods in this i didn't see him in
wow he's looking very danny devedo penguin okay all right then all right i was really that was him
Yeah, they release some pictures.
Kevin Bacon's in it. He's the villain.
And the picture of Elijah Wood,
which Nez don't stare into his eyes.
Oh, in my heart.
You'll hear it.
Yeah, it's coming, everyone.
Just listen to the East Society, 31 days of art.
But he looked very, he looked very Danny DeVito, Penguin,
Batman Returns, ask,
in that picture. That is the weirdest thing
I've ever heard anybody say about Elijah Wood.
That is
pretty weird. Okay, caught me off.
But also in the
cast is
of course, Peter Dinklage is the main
is the toxic Avenger.
That is very promising.
Very promising.
And they're saying this movie is
ultra violent, ultra gory. And they keep
people that have seen the movie keep talking about
something they're referring to as
butt guts
which is a kill
scene that is
ultra violent and gory
sounds promising
like that's all I've been hearing about
since the reviews of it coming out
and I think it's
about to be certified fresh and
rotten tomatoes
be in theater or it's going to be
VOD
theater. I can
imagine limited.
Probably not here.
Making Blair
Lance is the director.
He's great, man.
He's never let me down yet.
What was the one movie where he
was the homeless guy?
Oh, yeah. Blue Ruin.
Yeah, Blue Ruin. The great,
great revenge movie, man.
One of the greats, dude.
That was a good one.
let me see when this is due to come out
I don't think it has a release date
I think it's kind of doing the festival
round I know I know it's definitely doing the festival rounds
now that they can talk about it a little bit more
so I don't think we'll get a
since September 21st
2003 so that was probably the festival release date
so when we actually get a full trailer is when we'll get
a clear-cut release date.
Okay.
I missed the two trailers, but I got to go get a extension cord and try to have to blow out a fuse.
I'll be right back.
Oh, damn it, Lance.
Boyless.
Yeah, man.
Toxic Venture looks pretty cool.
I mean, it's got a very throwback style to it.
Yeah.
It was just a teaser, so there wasn't a whole lot in there.
I did just look up a picture of Elijah Wood.
And, yeah, I can see what.
saying there.
The penguin.
Penguin had a son,
and it was Elijah Wood.
Is he playing that fat guy
that was the bad guy in the original one?
I had done.
I've kind of, other than
the fact that who's in the movie, I've kind of
stayed away from spoilers.
Dude, I haven't seen
the original one since I was little.
I need to go back and watch that one.
When this comes out,
it'll probably be on the
schedule.
Yeah.
anyway it looks good I'm excited about it I've been excited about this one yeah I'm
ready for it yeah I'm on like you bro I don't want to see too much I just want to if I if it plays
here I just want to I would love to see it in the big screen yeah just know the cast and
butt guts that's all I know it looks like it's gonna be hilarious all right moving on to
the second and final trailer which is uh I think this is
going to be a shutter exclusive
when evil lurks
and this comes from
director Damien
Rugna which I've seen
one of his movies
have you guys seen a movie called Terrified
not terrifier but terrified
sounds familiar
I might have seen it
I think
on one of our posts I think Mike was
recommending his
yeah okay he's the one that told me about
yeah I saw it so
What'd you guys think of when evil lurks?
I don't know what's happening in this trailer.
Yeah.
But it looks cool.
Yeah, it looks cool.
I like those IFC movies, man.
It's like Shutter has some sort of exclusive rights to them or something.
But they're always very serious, very slow burn, very low-key, but usually really creepy and a good story.
so I enjoy watching them
this just kind of adds to the list
yeah I'm
I'm kind of right there with Nez
I have no idea what's going on in the trailer
but based off of the movie I've seen that he's done
I will definitely check it out
because I also do recommend terrified
what happened and terrified
I probably remember I saw it the one time
yeah I kind of don't want to spoil it
because it's a bit of a slow burn
but there's like a lot of creepy images
and situations going on in the movie
I was just trying to figure out if I'd seen it or not
there's a dead kid
sitting there for a majority of the movie
just kind of
I'll just give that little bit
that every time you look back at him
he's kind of positioned differently
it's the kid from the six cents
no he's not
the kid from the six cents
is doing a little bit more than him
oh that's right
and he was still a lot.
Last thing I saw him in was
a Tusk.
Yeah.
I think I saw that kid in.
Was he in there?
I think the last thing I saw him in was
the entourage movie
where he was like the son of a billionaire
and he was like a super
asshole.
He still works with M-night.
I think he was in one of his movies.
Or maybe the servant or something?
I don't know.
He was in some of him night.
Oh, he was in the boys.
The boys.
Yeah, he still looks the same, but with a beard.
It's weird.
Did not get the cabin come out this year?
Yeah.
Yeah, that was at the beginning of the year.
Oh, okay.
Just think like February or something like that.
I have to rewatch that.
I don't even remember.
I remember the end, but I don't remember what was going on in it.
But, yeah, that about describes this trailer.
They didn't tell you much.
It looks interesting.
It's getting October 27th release date.
So if anybody wants to check out what evil lurks.
I think that's coming to Shutter.
And I think we'll just, like you said, we lost Lance.
So we'll just go right into feedback.
Listen to feedback.
I want to show my new pillow that I got.
My kids got this for me for my birthday.
It's the...
Oh shit.
It's got an ear on the back.
Philip, you got one of those, man.
Yeah, I got the book.
You got the book.
It's my old man back pillow.
Nice.
It's perfect.
All right.
My old man back.
Listener feedback.
This week we're going to shine the podcast spotlight on Doom Generation.
Join the Dames of Doom for raunchy and hilarious retellings of the movie.
movies that doomed us.
So they just like go over the movies and then tell what happened.
And in a raunchy way, I'm down with that.
That sounds hilarious.
Yeah, I listened to their last episode.
They're pretty, they're pretty fun.
I think their last episode was, was it Elvira, Mistress of the Dark?
Ah.
Lots of boobs.
This is what I got cool.
I haven't listened to any of these yet.
Okay.
Oh, God damn it.
Motherfuckers.
Doom,
Generation?
Doom Generation.
Check them out.
All right. Okay.
And we got an email and also a message through X from Michael Kukiak.
Was it from Elon?
It was X, right?
X, Twitter.
What do you, what do you call it?
I mean, because it used to be a tweet.
It's not truth.
It's not true social.
So, you know.
Well, what is it called now?
What is it called now?
It's called an X?
I call it a tweet.
Do you send out an X?
I have no idea.
I'm not starting to tell people I'm to X them.
Yes.
So yeah, got an email
and a message through X from Michael Cukiac of Blast Furnace Media.
He said hello, per our exchange on X.
Here's a link to review a screener from the Shadows
starring Keith David. Awesome.
Oh, yes!
We're in.
Also, the main site for the movie I directed,
death metal is at death metalhorrormovie.com.
Oh, God.
That sounds promising.
Oh, and then the site for From the Shadows is
www.
From theshadowsfilm.com.
From theshadowsfilm.com.
Okay.
And let's see.
From the Shadows is currently in select theaters.
And on October 29th, it'll be exclusively,
on voodoo.
From the Shadows is
screening this weekend at the
Port of Fear film festival in Kenosha,
Wisconsin. On
October 1st at 4, we're a little
late for that.
I'll be there in person
to do a Q&A. Death
Metal is on Tooby
and it's playing
the Chicago Horror Film Festival
on October 22nd.
So he might be there in person also,
not 100% sure.
So definitely check those out.
Is that a
2023 movie? It is, Brian.
We can include it in our 31 days.
It's untuby. It is.
It is not a, it's not no
2023 movie. I saw it last year.
It says right here,
2023. Death metal,
2023.
What says that? Tooby?
Yeah.
Tooby's full of shit.
Too many ads.
To be fair.
It should be fair.
Well, it's not
it's not Plex.
Oh, all right.
Man, don't watch anything on there.
Oh, no.
Yeah, please.
I tried to watch that
chainsaw 3D on there.
It was like 10, 10, 15 minutes.
Oh.
All right.
And Charles Rosany
says, I'm sending this out
to all my podcast
radio hosts and producers.
And I apologize.
if I've been on your show or already will be on soon.
I am the author of True Ghost Stories of Connecticut
and the book of Top Ten Horror Lists.
I am also the producer of the November 11th to 12th Salem Paranormal
and horror convention.
I'm looking to book interviews and about the books,
and if we haven't chatted about them already,
an upcoming convention.
I could also supply our horror guest Tara Buckman,
from Silent Night, Deadly Night.
And if you'd like, we could come on together.
And Charles will be joining us on October 15th to talk Tech Cemetery Bloodlines.
Cool.
Charles, he was fun when he came on last time.
Yeah.
Crittmaster Chuck, right?
Critmaster Chuck.
There it is.
Well, I appreciate it.
Hey, maybe spoiling some stuff.
So get ready.
And speaking of, to be fair, be juries.
mind says that we're only two days away from the Halloween season officially kicking off here
in Australia.
Here's my complete viewing list of every horror film, 82 in total, that I'll be watching throughout
the entire month of October as part of my 31 days of horror this year.
Check it out.
Marcus, Marcus, Wilton, if you're listening, please send your list, man.
That's one of our highlights of October.
Oh, yeah.
That is all.
So, supermarsi.com, you can find all those guys.
Sorry, didn't mean to take the spotlight from you, but.
82 fucking movie, he's not going to leave the house.
He's still in locking them.
Insane.
And, of course, our intro and logos come from Steve Carlton from the geeks.
I just caught that.
I'll throw you.
And, uh, I guess if you're on the house arrest, the only thing do is watch a bunch of fucking moves.
and be on the lookout for some more great stuff from Steve.
Our original skull artwork comes from Natsulani.
And if you'd like to help us out, please consider becoming a Patreon patron.
We'll let you pick the movies for a future show at any amount.
And for $5 or more a month, also pick a commentary for a future bonus show.
And you can even come on with this.
It'd be awesome.
Yeah, make sure you guys check out the League of Geeks.
I'm sorry, the Geeks.
They're dropping their 31 days every day also.
That's geeks with the...
That's a lot of shows.
Audio and video versions.
Nice.
All right.
On to our featured attractions.
This week we bring back torture porn with the brand new Saw X,
as well as 2005's Hostel.
Have we already done the original Saw?
Yes.
Okay.
I couldn't remember.
I think we've done the Exorcist before, too.
Haven't we, Brian?
Yeah, but we have to, since the new one's a sequel, a direct sequel, we have to do that one again.
That's fine.
I score may go up, and I think it was a 9.5, spoiler alert.
All right, so we'll start with Hostel from 2005.
You're fucking whore.
You fucking bitch!
You fucking bitch!
I got a lot of money for you.
And that make you my bitch.
Three backpackers head to a Slovak city that promises their hedonistic expectations with no idea of the hell that awaits them.
Man, I really stumbled through that sentence. Sorry.
Director and writer is Eli Roth, also known for Knock Knock in the upcoming Thanksgiving and hostile, most importantly.
Eli Roth hired real street kids.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
you went with knock knock instead of cabin fever
we'll get we'll get to that
okay
cabin fever that's a great one we'll get to that
sorry it just slowly popped
in my head it was like he said knock knock
well on a on a day armats
go on man
uh
and reefs
and Eli Roth hired real street kids to play
the bubble gum gang
they were fresh
they were kind of creepy
the porn film
the guard at the factory
oh the porn film the guard
of the factory watches on the DVD player
is sex fever
the X-rated parody of Roth
his first film Cabin fever
I see what you did there
there it is the main
trio stay in room 237
which is a reference to the shining
didn't catch
it, but it makes sense.
All right.
Nez, you want to start us out?
What do you think about Hostel?
I love this movie.
I didn't see it when it first came out because the area I live in sucks and we didn't get it in the theater.
So I didn't see it until it, I think hit DVD.
Then I just went and rented back when you can rent DVDs.
I went rented it and I checked it out.
And I loved it.
I really wanted to see it because Kevin Fever was the first Eli Roth movie that I had seen.
And I went back and when I heard this was coming out, I was really excited.
But it just didn't make it to my area.
So, but watching it for the first time, I really love this film.
It's real awesome.
I love that he just goes for it with the blood and the gore and the practical effects.
Of course, there's some CGI in there.
but for for what it was man made me not want to go
uh over there and uh
no disrespect to the people that live over in that country but right i'm good
so but it was an awesome film i really love this film yeah from what i understood
they were not happy when this movie came out
oh brought us lava yeah so they i think if i remember reading correctly i think
they offered to like fly him out and kind of show
their their city and stuff but i guess he declined or something
okay you scared
i know yeah no thank you
where are you putting me up at
uh all right brian what you think
oh i love this too i i actually remember seeing this opening
weekend in the theater back when it came out because this is a movie that
Me and my brother had to, we had to go see it because they were advertising that people were passing out in the gate here throwing up.
I think some theaters were handing out of sick bags or whatever.
Oh, that old trick.
Yeah, so I was like, okay, I got to go see what's going on.
I wasn't shocked by what I saw, but I was enjoying what I saw.
And this is the time when, like you said, Phil, in the, in the, in the,
intro. This was early torture porn. This is when it was getting going. And there's a lot of torture.
There's a lot of gore. I thought the effects were great. The main guy, Jay Hernandez, who played
Paxton, he kind of turned around for me in the movie because when you introduce to these guys,
you're kind of not wanting to like them that much.
I'm rooting for them to die, maybe.
Yeah, I mean, I kind of liked Oli, because that guy seemed like a lot of fun.
Yeah, yeah.
The king of the swing, that guy.
But, you know, you kind of don't like these guys, but then Paxton, he kind of turned it around for me at the end, especially with the scene when he could have left the one Asian girl behind, but he just couldn't bring himself to leave her behind.
And that scene always sticks in my head when he cut her.
eyeball out and it started oozing
everywhere. Oh man.
Anything with eyes is
kind of gross.
So you like audition then too, huh?
Oh gosh.
And there was
a lot of good practical effects
in here and there was some
CGI but I thought it was done
correctly.
What was CGI? Not overblown.
I couldn't tell either.
I think it was like to touch
up stuff here and there. It wasn't like
full blown CGI. I
I was going to say I didn't even really notice any
Yeah yeah I think I think
No houses on fire that's for sure
Yeah I think when when you mix
CGI and practical effects
I think the CGI should be to enhance the practical effects
Not make the practical effects look like they're not even there
Right that makes sense
Which um
Well Lance we'll talk about it in our update
Because there was a movie I caught that
I know there was practical effects
But they completely covered it
in CTI.
And it kind of kind of pissed me off.
That's stupid.
That's a bad decision, man.
Be on the lookout for our update.
I'll talk about that one.
But yeah,
Hostel is awesome.
The second, the sequel,
I thought was awesome, too.
The third,
not so good,
because the third is a direct-to-video.
And I mean,
I can't even remember what happened.
I'm fucking, I'll spoil it.
Anything over here.
They flip it.
They make you, in the beginning, they make you think the Americans are being hunted by the foreigners,
but it takes place in Vegas, so it's swapped around.
That's horrible.
Terrible idea.
It was garbage.
Wow.
But yeah, hostel's probably outside of cabin fever, probably my favorites out of Eli Rossville biography.
I mean, he's done other movies.
I think his worst is Death Wish.
it's probably his worst movie.
That was kind of so bad it's good, though.
No, it wasn't. It was trash.
For me, it was so bad it's good.
The new one or the original?
The one, Bruce Willis.
Oh, yeah, no, I didn't hear good things about it.
I've never seen it.
I think a guy accidentally gets killed when a bowling ball falls on his head,
and it happens so, like, am I watching a cartoon, or what's happening here?
Home Alone.
the R-R-R-A edition.
Hostel is awesome, though.
All right. Lance, what do you think?
This film was the best advertisement for Bratislava since Euro trip.
Where you had a guy in his sister making out and everybody high on the green ferry drinking the absent and buying a massage for like 52 cents and a four-course dinner room service for 37 cents.
but yeah it's
man what a great
what a great film man
this was a
a well done
three act movie the first act
was kind of like a lighthearted
douchebags on parade
kind of
you know these three fucking guys are on vacation
lots you want to talk about
tiddy you guys mentioned titties earlier
did somebody say titties
boy did this fucking movie
deliver
So, yeah, the first third of the movie was just a fun romp, a fun time.
Second act of the movie, something's a little off here,
but we can't quite put our finger on it.
Little, I don't know, man, maybe Ari Oster got some ideas for Midsomar here
because there's a couple of scenes that were kind of mirrored in Midsomar with,
oh, they left, you know.
No, no, they decided to leave.
Yeah, no.
Yeah, yeah, your friend decided to.
head out. So I kind of got that vibe
there, which I don't think
Ariashta was too influenced from, but
you never know, right? I mean,
I'm sure he's watched everything, just like
Quentin Tarantino. I mean, it was
a creepy way to do it in this movie
when they did it, you know? Like,
hey, where's our buddy? Oh, he
checked out this morning.
He brought that out. This movie is produced by
Clinton Tarantino. Yes, it is.
Yes, it is, man.
They were buddies, right?
Tarantino and
Yeah, he basically is the reason why this movie got made
because he convinced Eli to make this movie.
I guess he wasn't going to make this movie.
And Quentin was like, no, this is going to be good, you know, do it.
Okay, so what I like about this movie is that it,
and I had seen it before, but I think I saw it like when it first came out.
So I haven't seen it quite a long time.
And I remember, like the eye, you know, you can't forget that scene, Brian, like you said.
So there are a few things I remembered, but
In the toe.
For the most part, I wasn't, yeah, I wasn't expecting it to play out the way it did.
I thought it was going to be very formulaic.
Like, we're all three of them passed out at the same time.
They even kind of alluded to that, right?
When they're in the nightclub and, you know, Hernandez drinks the,
he also drinks the Bill Cosby special.
But he goes into the bathroom.
And I think, I guess that dude that was cleaning it,
accidentally locked him in?
Yeah.
Yeah, that wasn't supposed to play out like that.
He kind of wandered into the closet and got locked in there.
A series of very unfortunate events.
Yeah, but that was cool the way they did that, right?
Because then, like, he rides into his own doom at the end.
And we kind of know it's coming, right?
But he doesn't.
So I really like the way they did that.
It was a well-written movie, a well-acted movie, and well-directed.
So, you know, kudos to Roth on this one.
He may not, you know, he may not be the best horror film director of all time,
but this is one of his gems.
I enjoy it.
And my brain's working kind of slow.
You brought up audition earlier.
That, the director, Takashi Mika, had a cameo in this one.
You're fucking shitting me.
Are you serious?
The guy that he, when Paxton gets to the place where they're doing all this stuff at,
the exhibit is what they call it.
Yes.
The guy that comes out and he asks him,
is it good in there?
He says,
you can spend all your money in there.
Money in there.
Be careful.
Be very careful in there.
Oh, my God.
Holy shit.
Okay, yeah.
That just,
my score just went up a point.
Thanks, Brian.
You're welcome.
That doesn't happen very often.
That's what I'm here for.
And those parts were kind of great in the movie
where you get to see like the,
like that other dude.
comes in while he's like trying to change clothes.
Oh, my God.
How should I do it?
Should I do it quick?
What's that guy's name?
That was amazing.
Let me look.
He's going to be in the new.
He's going to be in Eli's new one Thanksgiving.
He's been in a bunch of shit.
He's usually pretty good.
I like him.
Rick Hoffman.
He played the American client.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that stuff was great.
Like, yeah, this is a really good movie.
That guy was funny.
Yeah.
Let's go.
Let's go.
well and it was kind of like
almost a
a nice little palette cleanser
in between all the really super tense
moments and the really gross out stuff
great way to describe it.
Yeah when like you think he's about to get caught
and then this guy's like hey man
what do you think? Do you like it?
They had some great characters in here
the main chick that was
deceiving them and seducing them.
I like that scene when he was like
You fucking bitch and she was like I get paid a lot of money for you
So that makes you my bitch
I love that line
I love that line
Yeah
I think she's pretty great in this
I didn't get why she looks so hot when we first seen her
But then when we see her before she buys it
She looked all drugged out and rough
That's still a long weekend of party
It is
No no
I'm all kidding aside
I have some experience with
Opelior addiction and I honestly think that
she was like out of her junk
seriously
we're gonna get it
I figured they get them
cleaned up and they play
for the people at the hotel and then after
they get their job they get their money
they get their drugs that's what I think
I think it's a little bit of that and
they like you said Phil they get they got their money
they take this makeup off I don't need it
you know I got like
like I said I got a lot money for you
you're my bitch I got mine
all those little street
those little street tuffs
they gave them that bag of candy
and they're all sitting there
bubble gum chewing
that was pretty great
yeah I heard it
I heard it was hard to like wrangle them
because I guess they spoke no English
and I seen like behind the scenes
Eli Ross like teaching them like words like
punani and stuff like that
He's got to give him something cool
Because they have that one scene where he's
Okay, so this dude's just going to try to choke the life out of you
And deal with it
This movie might see Matt Eli Roth into the
Annals of being a horror master
No matter
He could come out with the worst movie
And I'd still love this
I'm gonna wait
Yeah, it was death wish
I'm yeah
I loved it
I love death
I'm gonna wait to see
I'm gonna wait to see it
I'm going to wait to see what comes of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving?
Oh, yeah.
Because I, there was a time I felt like he was a promising future top horror director.
And then he dropped some not so good ones.
And then he started delving out and doing other genres and kind of left horror behind a little bit.
So, yeah, the earthquake movie wasn't great.
The green inferno wasn't great.
Clock in the walls.
I didn't even see that one.
See, I'd rather
watch the house with the clock
in its walls before I watched Death Wish.
Yeah.
I had no desire to see that movie.
I can imagine the Porto parody,
The House with Cock and Balls.
I just went to
see Death Wish because I
was a huge fan of the Charles
Bronzer series. Were they all good?
No. But this one, I was like,
all right, Bruce Willis,
Who I rock?
They were all rough, right?
yeah i said
Eli Roth and Bruce Willis and plus the
the beautiful
Elizabeth shoe
alright that was the main reason I went
and seen it
and it wasn't
death wish it was something
totally different
I heard this was one of the ones
that like Bruce Willis just phoned in
oh he he was there
collecting a page it did
it didn't have that exploitation
type feel to it
and right
he didn't
he's not as
I love Bruce Willis. I know he's done a lot
of shit in his later career
but he's done a lot of fantastic movies but he's
not Charles Bronson.
Yeah. Well I he could
have gone a very different route man like
he's still one of the you know
great action stars but boy if he'd have really
killed some movies towards the end of his
days. Yeah I know. Well he also
phoned it in. But they also
revealed he had that brain condition.
Yeah that's true too. I kind of
also felt like maybe he was just collecting paychecks because he knew his acting career was coming to an end.
Yeah.
Well, that's understandable.
And on that note,
Hercore.
Ratings.
Or Hostel.
Nez, what do you think?
Oh, this is not at 10.
No.
Hostel 2, 10.
What?
The bloodbath, Lance.
Oh, man.
Shout out to Heather.
matter as oh we have to keep we have to keep watching these then right oh just watch the next one that
stop to the second one but this one i'll get i'll give it a nine keeps growing nine i'll give it a nine
i'll give it a nine i mean i loved it i thought everything about it was awesome but i can't give it
the same score as the second one the second one was just amazing and i got to see that one in the
theater so but uh yeah this one is still awesome um yeah
hostile nine
all right Brian what do you think
I will also give it a nine
because I do like the second one also better
I thought
the acting was pretty solid
in here
they gave me characters I kind of were
rooting for they gave me characters I was rooting
against
solid story I felt
like good premise because you know that
that's definitely a fear
a lot of people have especially traveling
outside in other countries
and yes practical effects were pretty solid and this is one of Eli's better films
if not one of his best depend on your opinion so let's man I'm shit I did you
I've got to hold myself back I'll go eight and a half I was going to go seven and then
Brian you kicked me up a point and then something else you said later kick me up another
half point and now that I'm thinking back about it is very very
Hitchcockian, right? Like some of the music, the score, um, when he's getting on the train and
like trying to hide and he puts the glove on and I just, I don't know, man. This was a really
good fucking movie a lot better than I remember it being the first time. Because like the first
time, I think it just kind of shocked me and I'm like, you know, why are they showing this? This
isn't really like my type of horror. I don't think I'm like a torture porn fan, but yeah.
Brian, when you said that, uh, we got three douchebags.
at the beginning, but then you've got at least
the one character that we absolutely love.
Literally became a hero
at the end. Yeah, because he also
tells that story, which kind of humanized
him a little bit about watching the
little girl die. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. That was a little bit more of his character.
That's why he went back to get the Japanese
girl. Yeah.
So he couldn't hear that again.
It showed you there was more
to his character than
the other two, because
the one guy I thought it was
completely fucking whiny.
And I don't even know what the fuck is he doing on this trip.
Yeah, but you know.
He was quite a whiny, but I felt bad for him.
There's always got to be a little bitch in every free break.
He was still a good guy.
I mean, he was the complete opposite of Oli.
There you go. Oli.
You had Oli, which was party animal.
I'll bang every and anything I find.
And then you got, what was his name?
David, the other guy.
He was the anti-Oli.
Yeah.
I just, I just broke over.
my girlfriend.
Well,
the better reason for you to
party.
Get some pussy, yeah.
I can't believe I'm getting the fucking
Eli Roth movie an eight and a half.
What is wrong with me?
Eight and a half.
All right.
You know what?
I think
I think this one deserves a nine
because it's going to...
Oh, wow!
It's going to end up a cult classic one day.
You know what?
I mean, I probably already is.
Yeah, I mean, because if you go back and look at just pivotal horror movies, this one was always big.
Everybody remembers the first time they saw a hostel because it's so different.
It's super gross.
I can't believe she was still going after that.
Quick fact about OLEE first and only movie role.
Oh, look that.
Okay.
Yeah, I think Eli met him as kind of like an advisor.
and just cast him in the movie.
Wow. Well, well done.
He actually was just some Icelandic drifter.
Exactly.
But yeah, man, great movie. Very impressed with it.
It was fun to go back and watch it. I wasn't disappointed.
All right. Now we're going to move on to Saw X.
A sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical.
procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer, only to discover the entire operation was a scam
to defraud the most vulnerable.
Well, boy. Spoiler alert.
I was going to say, which I guess they sort of gave away in the trailer, but man, that was a,
that was sort of a big, big spoiler in the middle of a synopsis.
Director is Kevin Grutert, also known for Saw 3D and Jackals.
and writers are
Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger
I like gold
Lionsgate brought back
their Redgears logo for this film
the last time the logo was used
was in the series was in the Saw 3D
all right
the first film in the series to not feature
a cop subplot
good
all right
and uh
nez what did you think about saw x
all right i didn't watch any trailers
i had no idea this movie was even coming
i don't know how i missed it
but
uh i was like i saw these posters
and i was like what what is this
and then i went oh okay it's a new one
and i just wanted to
go in there and enjoy it for what it was
because i don't know lately
trailers have been showing way too much.
So I'm glad I didn't even read this
synopsis because it pretty much
spoils the whole thing. That would have ruined it.
So I went in just not knowing
anything about it. I rewatched the end of Spiral
just because I couldn't remember how that
ended. But I do remember when
it ended, I remember
being in my seat going, ah!
Because it's a saw movie and that's how they end these films.
So I was like, okay, I remember the end. I saw, I rewatch the
I'm ready for this one.
Get in there.
The movie starts.
I was kind of like,
okay, cool.
We see John Kramer right on.
I'm glad that I still bring in Tobin Bell.
Right.
But then it went into a different story.
And I was like still waiting for us thinking maybe this is a flashback.
And I'm like, okay, okay.
But now it's going and going and going.
And I'm like, what?
I was like, what the fuck?
I was like,
oh.
You know Will Smith was going to show up and start slapping people, didn't it?
I was like, man, I said, what about the ending of that one?
How come we're not get a spoiler alert if you guys didn't see Spiral?
I mean, another cop got involved in everything, and Chris Rock and Nick Fury bought it.
I was like, oh, so I'm like, well, I don't know, maybe Chris Rock has something up his sleeve
and wants to do his continuation to that one.
So I was like, okay, well, we're not going that way.
let's just see what this is
I loved the first
kill that we see it's the
poster so it's not a spoiler
or anything I didn't know what
that poster is I was like what is it
what the hell is that then when we see it in action
I was like oh fuck I thought that
was pretty sweet but as a story
went on I was like
oh okay I see what we're doing
here new characters
new people new traps
and I just
I thought it was pretty good it was a good
movies a good saw movie is it one of my favorites no i i i would put the first one of course is number
one then number two which i really loved then i would probably go spiral and then i would have to
think about the other ones um i didn't care for jigg i'll agree with that one i didn't care
come on i didn't care for jigsaw i didn't care for jigsaw i didn't care for jigsaw i did like the
little laser things but i was kind of disappointed
with that one that one was starting to lose me so but I can't really remember much of the
other ones because they all blend together it's just yeah that's what I was just thinking
learned that at fright mirror and trivia guys I was like I was like wait which one was
whatever jigsaw was that was the one with the lasers I think that was right eight and so but um
I liked I liked what was happening I mean with the reasoning for why he was
was doing what he's doing.
It's always, he gives you a choice.
And that's not a spoiler if you've seen all the other films.
I think when you go see these films, for me,
I just want to see the different ways that people are going to have to play these games.
And obviously, they meet their demise.
So I want to see how cool it was.
Some of the traps were neat.
I liked what it was.
I don't think I would just, you know what, I would just die.
Because I don't think I could do some of the things.
I was going to think of the same thing on a couple of things.
are black out, right?
You know what?
Yeah.
Probably dead anyway.
Yeah. You'd go into shock.
I mean, come on.
Yeah.
I was like, you know what?
Let it just happen.
Hopefully it just happens fast.
But out of all the films, the one that just freaked me out the most was in part two.
I don't, I don't like needles.
The needles.
I know it.
I don't like needles, period.
That part, I went, I like screamed and closed my eyes.
But this was it was good
I liked what was happening I don't know where we're going from here
But I was really happened that because Tobin Bell's in the movies
But he's like it's not about him
It's about all the other people that have to make their choices all the people that are locked up somewhere and they're them trying to figure out a way to get out or
Some cop trying to figure out
Where Jigsaw is and all of this it was that's how most of the other friends
films were this one was about a situation with John Kramer so I was I was really happy that he
really got to shine in this one of course he's he's much older and everything but I met him
once he was really cool kind of quiet but he was nice a nice guy to meet but yeah I really
enjoyed this film I want to see it again because I was like I said I was really rooting for
a continuation of spiral so and I didn't get it
And then I was kind of like, ah, but then I was like, let me just, let me just watch it to see what it is.
You may not.
You may not get it.
I can't even remember how spiral ended.
That's why I had to rewatch it.
Yeah, I had to rewatch it.
I got you.
Brian, what did you think?
Sorry, I got a dog barking in the background.
I lower that.
I really enjoyed this one.
I came into this one not expecting much, but I think this is probably one of the better song.
to come out in a long time.
It felt like back to basics.
I like, I like the way, yeah, that makes sense.
I mean, even the setup that reminded you of the first set up, right?
The setup, the tone, the...
The hell of the setup, though.
Cinematography, just everything felt like Old Saw, the original movies.
The traps, I dug the traps because they weren't extravagant,
but they're not supposed to be because
he's kind of early into
his trap making career
his self-help routine
I justified him
looking the way he did with him being sick in the movie
at the point of his career
not career, point of his character's
the cancer
you justified him
I can't justify as
shawnee smith i just but i do
like her inclusion in the movie
because oh yeah yeah maybe she was
maybe she was really hurting from not having any
opium
no i
sorry
well that's for soft too nass that's not a spoiler no but
i didn't know she was in this i was like
oh no that's not a spoiler she's in the trailer so brine
oh she is okay well i didn't
no.
So it was...
Well, she's number two.
When the movie starts,
she's never the second name and the fucking credits, man.
I didn't,
well,
they didn't show anything.
They just started.
They didn't show all the credits until the end.
All right.
I can't justify
with her looking the way she does.
Definitely older in the movie,
but I did like to include you.
Oh, you think?
God damn it.
Let me finish.
I did like to include.
of her character because when we get introduced to her and saw one she's a scared timid drug addict
and then when we get introduced to her in part two we it gets revealed that she's his accomplice
so we didn't get none of the storyline and character development for her character at all and i
like the inclusion of that character in this one and uh like i said i enjoyed the traps i thought the
kills were
gruesome, the practical
effects were awesome, and
I thought it was
one of the best saw movies
in the franchise, honestly.
Somebody agrees with you.
It's bad.
Lance, what did you think?
All right, the bad
part first.
Oh, man, without
spoiling, right? Yes,
I couldn't. It was hard for me to wrap
my head around how much older certain people looked because they were that much older.
It's called imagination, Lance.
Okay.
Yeah, you kind of have to see it and go.
Suspend disbelief.
You're not making it, but all right.
We'll go with that.
Brian, if they had done a musical number, Brian, they would have had me.
But they didn't.
So, all right.
I'll use my imagination.
A musical saw.
God, I hope they don't ever do that.
They did, right?
Didn't they?
It was that one about the, help me out here, Brian.
If it's about musicals, I will not help you out.
They did a Broadway play, I think.
I think they did.
I think they did.
For some song.
Yeah.
Oh, man, I like to have seen that.
I saw the Evil Dead one.
Oh, I'd love to see that.
It was nothing like the movie, but it was good.
the kill
okay so there was a kill
early on that was a
that was a fake out
man when that happened
I was like this movie's gonna fucking suck
I'm so glad I'm so glad
I came to see this I'm so glad
Brian
Brian gave us our
homework assignment
to see this movie
I'm gonna fucking hate this movie
you've already got a kill
and it's a fucking fake out
like he's oh
spoiler
wise Joyce
Come on
it's in the first
fucking 10 minutes
It can't be a spoiler
It's a spoiler
It's a spoiler
That people may not have seen
All right
That being said
Now let's get to the good parts
Yeah
I really had a fucking fun time
With this movie
I like
If you can get past the fact
That the actors
Are 40 years older
And they look
I hear four
And ten coming
if you get past the fact that they're 40 years older and the and the in the in the in the
female looks like accomplice looks like she's 70 years older oh get them dude she was rough man
that fucking that wig I thought she was the cancer patient uh-oh all right
this thing's going dark man no I you're going dark dark
All right, I had fun.
Okay, so when, see, you can't say this without spoiling anything.
I mean, okay, so when the cabby, see, I can't even do this because that spoils.
When the cabby picked him up and it said like tours, but then like there was a shot at the car and there was D.E.
Spray painted in front of the tours, like D tours.
I'm like, ah, okay.
Oh, I don't even notice that.
Yeah, something's going on here.
and then he shows up
and then he starts meeting
the cast of characters
and it's like,
I don't know,
you know,
and then his buddy,
see, I can't give anything away.
All right.
Well, we'll get into that.
I'll speak in just complete generalities.
I thought the kills were great.
A lot of fun.
I really enjoyed watching this film.
It was fun start to finish.
It was, from what I understand,
it was the longest running saw ever.
Like it clocked in right at two hours.
Yeah.
And it, honestly, I got to tell you, man, I watched the movie last night, Brian, for our 31 days that was an hour and 25 minutes that involved quicksand that I swear to God felt like a five-hour fucking movie.
Blood Beach?
No.
We're only doing 2023 movies this year.
Brian knows what I'm talking about.
He's seen it.
Yeah.
Go over to the Skaternes podcast network if you want to hear Blood Beach.
Not yet, but it's coming.
coming, everyone. That's a movie.
I do want to hear
blood beats. It's coming.
It's coming, everyone.
My point is for a two-hour
movie, this thing flew by.
I mean, there was never a dull moment
in this movie. It was
a lot of fun from start to finish.
There were some great original kills.
I love the clockwork
design and the, you know, all the
chains and, you know,
you had all the gears and
it was a lot of fun. And then
there were,
certain characters that I knew they were
in on it, but it was fun to find out
when they were, so
I really can't say too many bad things
about this. I kind of kid around
a little bit, because I talk about
how much... It's
weird, considering this was a
flashback movie, and the actors
in it literally are decades
older, right, than they would have been
in the timeline, and that does kind of
take you out of it. It's like, maybe they should
have used different actors, or
maybe they don't, they should have learned something for
Marvel and done some
secret invasion de-aging type shit, you know,
but I'm kind of glad they didn't.
I'm kind of glad you didn't, too.
You know, what can I say?
I had fun. I had fun with this movie.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think it's
it wasn't what I expected. I didn't go
in expecting a whole lot either.
And this was like the Tobin Bell
saw a movie, right? It was about him.
Yeah, for sure.
And it takes them forever to get there.
I mean, I know there's a, there's like a flashback scene of a, of a death towards the beginning.
But then like, they don't really get into it again until like halfway through the movie.
And it's just this whole story and buildup, which may not be what you expect, but I kind of enjoyed it.
It fed to the story a little more.
I think Tobin Bell did awesome.
I didn't mind that the age was so different.
You know, it's like when they first come on screen, you go, hey, wait a minute.
What are we doing?
And then you're like, all right, let's just roll with it.
Like Brian said, imagination.
And I think that worked.
I don't know that I loved the ending.
But that's really the only bad thing I can say about it.
I just, you know, the end when everything's sort of untwist is a little goofy.
I think I know what you mean at the end.
But we'll get into it in spoiler.
Either way, one of the best saw movies I've seen in a while.
I think I like this one better than Spiral.
I liked it better than Spiral too, Nass.
Sorry.
I mean, definitely.
Definitely.
Definitely.
You liked it better than Jigsaw.
All right.
Scores.
Ness, what do you think?
I know, no, I enjoyed everything about it.
I was just disappointed.
So, let me give it an eight.
That's a good score.
That's still pretty awesome score, yeah.
Brian, what do you think?
It may not be the story that we wanted, especially for us,
some of us that knew that it was going to be a prequel set in between the first two movies.
But to me, it was something different for.
the franchise. And not only
something different, but it took the franchise
back to, like I said, basics
to the gritty
the grittiness and the griminess
of the original movies.
And I enjoyed it.
I still stand on. It's one
of the better saw movies to come out in a long
time because the later
ones were very flashy and CGI
and
Well, they were all more about the kills
than the story. Yeah, each trap had
to be bigger than the next one. So
I like the traps in this one.
They were basic.
They were to the point.
They were.
Well, we'll get to the spoilers.
I don't know.
I was going to spoil one trap that I thought was kind of easy to just win.
Oh, I can't wait to hear what you say about that one.
Okay.
Yeah.
Not easy to win, but probably the easiest out of all of them to win.
Yeah.
There was one where I'd have been like, fuck that.
there was one that there's no way the guy would have still been standing i'll give this one a solid
eight wow okay i higher than i expected from you man lance is it a four on ten no it's a solid seven
no it really oh wow wow oh oh seven yeah no i didn't see that coming i thought shawney smith being
115 years old was gonna lower your score down it you know i thought you can give it a six
she's the cryptkeeper all of a sudden i got to be yeah
Yeah, she was.
But I got to be honest with you.
No, she wasn't fine.
I didn't like her.
She was a fucking hag, dude.
Her spock hair.
Whoa, what a hag.
She's never coming on our show.
I love you, Shawnee.
I don't know what this guy's thinking.
You can come over to mine anytime.
Just called Shawnee Smith, a 70-year-old hag.
Let me put it to you this way.
I'm 55 years old.
I'm probably older than her, but I feel 20 years younger after seeing her in this performance.
But!
That being said, it gets a strong seven.
I had fun.
I really had fucking fun at a saw maybe,
and that's the first time I can say that in five or six years, at least.
What year were you born?
68.
She's born 69, so she's what, like a year younger than you?
Yeah.
Again, I feel 20 years younger after having seen it.
Well, it's not bad for 50s.
I didn't think she was that old.
She's fine.
I love you.
I also got to take my account
where her character is in this timeline
of the story.
Uh-oh, hold on.
I got to go take the wife a drink.
Y'all talk.
Uh-oh.
All right.
All right.
I think I'm going to go eight also.
I think this was a pretty solid
saw movie, man.
I had a whole lot more story
than I expected there to be.
And the kills were good.
And, you know,
that's kind of the point of the kills is that you want to get like sucked into these traps and go what would I do you know and and you had that moment with each one of these which is fun or not depending on how you look at it.
All right let's do spoilers.
This is a motherfucking spoiler alert.
You've been fucking warned.
This is a motherfucking spoiler alert.
You've been fucking warned.
this is a motherfucking spoiler alert
you've been fucking warned
Are we into spoiler territory yet?
Spoilers, right?
Nice.
I'll start going
We're not off Shawnee Smith yet
I felt like the character development
was important at least for me
because we went from here to here
with no explanation
and we got a little bit of character development
with her with Amanda
because you could see she was still
had uh maybe not all the way in on the fucking plan right brian i think you walked off when i said it
i'm sorry dude i'm just for you brian they should have at least de-answer
secret invasion so then it would have lowered your score then it would have been like a
g i'm g-i-ms that's what i said i was like man i'm glad they didn't d a i think it would have been
but I felt like
her character was not
all the way in on
John Kramer's plan
all the way
but she still
She still had
sympathy
especially for the one girl
I think her name was
Gabriella
who she kind of sits
yeah she had
she's seen herself
in this character
who turned out to be another one
that persevered through
the game
and won
and which was unfairly
killed by the doctor at the end,
which was
kind of a shock to me.
Yeah, me too. I was
like, okay, she persevered
in this test,
in this game. Where is
she going to be in later saw movies?
And then the doctor took her out.
Yeah. I was like,
I agree. I think
she could have come in later.
That's maybe where it sort
of lost me a little, because like
at the end there, it was, it was
kind of over the top. She like suddenly
becomes completely murderous. I mean,
I know that she was a terrible
con artist, but... I think she was
always like that. I think... To be just a
blatantly evil human being.
Well, they're conning
dying cancer patients
out of money. I think she's
completely evil. And then it gets revealed
that one of the patients was
pretending and is actually her husband.
Yeah. I saw that
from a mile away.
The minute we saw him, I
I knew he was in on it.
And for me,
for me, that's rare.
Did you guys see the after credit scene?
Yes.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
I liked that.
It was revealed that that guy was also in on it and they went to go get his
ass.
Yeah,
because I was wondering about him the whole movie.
That's who,
that's who he was,
uh,
Kramer was on the phone with earlier.
Remember when he called and said,
I need your help.
No,
I'm talking about the,
the guy that.
A black guy.
Oh, yeah, I saw that coming too.
Because it just shows you...
It just showed you how deep their con was because they targeted him.
They knew who he was.
They knew his condition.
Let's get as much as we can out of this guy.
And that's how far they've got for this guy to come with the fake surgery scar up his stomach.
And I just, I don't know.
I just thought it was a good storytelling for me.
Pretty evil.
Pretty evil.
Yeah, and I like the whole con aspect, and I just feel like the little twist at the end wasn't so much of a twist.
Yeah, not as twisty, was it?
And it, like, they planned it out.
I feel like there's a lot of holes there at the end.
Like, they planned it out where he gets trapped with this little kid on there.
But why did they let that cunt live, dude?
Why did they let that fucking?
Or, from what I, from what I, from what I,
took from it she was in prison in that
room.
I was gonna...
That's what AJ said.
That's what AJ said. She said, well,
at least she could never get out of there.
No, she didn't. She put her head through
the fucking thing and breathed. But that stuff
that stuff was eating her skin.
And you got your
heads out, you can breathe, but it's
I guess. The rest of your body's in there
get off the road. I wanted to see it like
follow and stop. I think
I think she lived because
John Kramer, he doesn't kill people.
I mean, later with other accomplices, I know he really kills people, but I'm just saying.
I was going to say, John Kramer is like a gun. Guns don't kill people, people kill people, right?
I kill people. Stupid people. If this was a trap that he set up, there's a way for you to live. It might not be the way you want, but if you make it out, you're going to live. So I felt like,
She lived.
She survived the trap, but she was also in prison in that room.
And that room was in an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere.
And the only other person that knew about her was the kid.
And he certainly wasn't going to help her out.
Yeah.
So she lived there.
She started to get there.
He just showed up.
It was way on the middle of nowhere.
That was kind of fucking silly.
But that's the same, is that the same building where he first went that had all the pretty green grass and all that shit?
And so.
And so they what?
They tore down all the landscaping and shit too?
No, because he went back to that place and it was gutted.
Yeah.
And then he went somewhere else where he set it all up.
Oh.
I don't know where he went.
I thought it was the same place.
There's some plot holes.
Which would be why the kid was there because that that's where they were.
Because the story needed him to be there.
Yeah.
Okay.
There you go.
The trap I liked, but I would have just had to get my head cut off.
that one with the razor wire.
Oh, that was awesome, dude.
And they gave you, what was it, 10 minutes or whatever,
to if you saw your leg off and then stick the bone marrow into that thing.
I mean, I was like, it was cool.
I liked it, but I was like, no.
I mean, other than you would have just blacked out from cutting your leg off.
Okay.
Can I talk about one deal?
I'm pretty sure you'd die.
Hold on really quick, really quick.
And then, because I was like, you get the bone.
mirror out and then she still can't see
and she was jabbing that
thing in her in her leg after she cut
it off I was like there'd be no way
yeah I agree that was
kind of silly it was cool though
I liked it but yeah
but I was kind of like no she would have
passed out as soon as she
hit that nerve in the bone
I was like no
but I liked it I thought it was cool
at least it was a practical effect
when she was saw in the way I just said sorry
everyone i'm just gonna have to just die hopefully this thing cuts my head off quick that was the one i looked at it and i
was immediately like nope what were you going to say lance okay the brain guy oh the brain
oh no way yeah yeah all kidding aside if if you were to honestly honest to goodness if you were to
without any anesthesia because they made a note of that oh you're an anesthesiologist
so we're not giving you any anesthesia.
So if you were to go through that much pain, right,
to cut the bone off,
you probably would have blacked up by then,
but there's a chance you can still be around.
If you take that big of peace out of your brain,
I honestly thought he was going to get to this point
and, like, turn to the camera and start going,
and just like fall over.
Yeah, he said that you can, once you,
if a piece got out, I don't know how true
this is. I'm not mine, brother.
It would
it would like that. We're not doctors.
Yeah, we're not doctors,
but God damn it, the brain
is a terrible thing to waste.
He said you can
lose some of it and still be all right
because it would grow back together.
I don't know.
I think the minute you take
part of significant, that
big a piece of your brain out,
I think you're done, man. I don't think
you can see, smell,
here, taste. I think he would have
just fucking fallen over.
Those guys, I've like
later on in the franchise,
later on in the franchise,
John has brain
surgery, and I believe he's awake
during that. Yeah. Yeah.
No, they do that. Well, and
that scene in Hannibal, where he cuts the
dudes, he's cutting pieces of
that guy's brain out. He's still lying to him.
Yeah, I mean, he was
medical knowledge from movies, everyone.
Now, the trap,
think that could have been beaten was the first one with the two eyes because he was twisting
the dial and it was breaking his fingers back oh yeah i would just get it all over and just turned
the nail all the way switch it all right yeah i just went rrash yeah but that was a fake out
that he just thought he was going to do that right no but i'm just saying if you would have put it
to be in that trap and it was just breaking your fingers because he had sticky fingers yeah yeah yeah
Yeah, man, I would have rather just break my fingers and get my eyeballs sucked out of my head.
I'm not doing one at a time.
Oh, no, I would do it right to five.
Dude, just rip the Band-Aid off, huh?
I thought that trap was cool because I did like once the countdown started.
And the suction started going.
You just see his eyeballs slowly going.
Yeah, that wasn't what I expected to happen there.
I thought it was going to suck more than just his eyeballs out.
I thought it was going to.
Probably did.
Yeah.
I thought chemicals were going to go through the two.
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Whatever.
It was cool to watch.
Atomic man from the Simpsons.
So is that his name?
My eyes.
The goggles do nothing.
Anything else, guys?
Are we ready to wrap up?
The very thing at the end, the credit scene.
When what's his name popped up?
Hoffman, Costas,
Mandelor, whatever his name.
When he showed up, I liked his character
in the other movies, but when he
popped back in, I was kind of like,
oh, man, but then you're thinking
if you've seen all the other one, he's dead.
He got killed.
But,
see, this one,
this, because it was an in-between
one-and-two movie, it didn't
leave you off to,
okay, what's coming next?
I don't know. Is there going to be an
11?
I don't know.
Give me a continuation of this story because you...
I think we'll get it.
You introduced Costas Mandeloff and we know later on he becomes accomplice,
but we never got the reason and situations led him to be an accomplice.
I think they mentioned it, but they never showed anything.
Okay.
I think they just darkened his hair.
He still looked almost as soon.
Maybe it was a little heavier.
I agree. They did a better job with his makeup than a home slice.
She's like very old to me.
I was kind of like, okay, now you guys are going backwards, but I don't know.
I still want to know what happened to that dude at the end of Spiral that got away.
So I don't know.
I don't know if they're going to or what, but I mean, I don't know.
But for what the film was, I did enjoy it.
yeah like the the the traps weren't super extravagant they were kind of really simple
because you've seen all the other movies that the traps were just getting more extreme as
the series went along we got to lasers at one point um but i thought it was cool i mean i like
that but that water that waterboarding one hell no all right but oh i'm sorry yeah the
waterboarding was bad the bloodboarding yeah no
got going to die. Thank you, but no thanks.
I felt more sorry for that little kid
because he got pulled into it and everything.
But I did like how John was
holding the lever.
I'm checking.
I'm checking. A lot of money.
I'm checking box office
mojo.
And it would appear
is the Saul X
beat out the movie I really
kind of wanted to see, but I had to see
this for the podcast.
The creator.
Oh yeah, I kind of wanted to see that one too
Maybe we will get a saw X-I
Well they're saying this is on pace to be more profitable than a spiral
Okay, then we know what we know what direction it's going then right?
Well, and we got spooky season coming
This was a perfect time for it to come out
Yeah
Well, there's X's this next week, boys and girls
Yeah, I'm excited about that one
All right
There's another evil something
movie. I don't know. I was looking at
times. Evil
Bong 12?
I don't know. With all the free beer
you can drink hands?
Well, I had it. You guys did me dirty and didn't
show up.
All right. I don't know what I was drinking, but I
was drinking it. I was two-fisting
at that during that dumb-ass movie.
