Regings victims, for those of you who delight and dread, who fantasize about fear, who glorify gore, welcome.
You have found the place where the horror returns.
Listeners beware.
This podcast contains major plot spoilers.
and the foulest of language.
Join us in celebrating the old and the new,
the best, and the worst in horror.
Kids, people of all ages,
because this is our annual kids' Halloween show
on the horror returns,
although we've had many kids bail on us.
I had a granddaughter that said she was tired.
Brian, I think you had an illness.
going on or something? Yeah, it's common to get that pre-winter cold in because the temperature
drops drastically, so. Yes, it's all the way down to like 88 here. Yeah, she gave me,
she gave me her review and her thoughts, so I'll relay her thoughts of the movie because she was
helping be out because I'm not familiar with the game. I know what the game is, but. Yeah, I'm kind of
the same way. I've played it before, but
I'm not super familiar with
it, but the kids still,
mine will be here. I'll grab them
before we start the review. Nice.
All right. Ness, did you get some feedback
too? Yeah, my son, Eric,
I'm
out of, I'm out of commission for a while.
I fractured my ankle, so I'm just been sitting
at home, and I'm glad that this was
streaming on Peacock,
so I was able to sit down
and he was ready to go to the movie theater
and see it, and I said, no, it's playing here.
So saves him some money.
So, because he was ready to go by himself.
Sure.
So we watched it.
I enjoyed it, but he had a lot of knowledge of it because he's been playing the game since he was little, he said.
And he's 18 now.
So he kept saying, oh, there's this, there's that, and da-da-da-da-da-da.
And I was like, I didn't know any of it.
I just clicked it, turned it on, and I was watching it.
I had no idea what it was about who it was.
I knew who the characters were.
only because if you're a collector like I am, you go down those toy aisles and there's nothing but those things.
And I have no idea who they are or what they do in the game.
So, but he said that he, he enjoyed it.
He really enjoyed it.
He was happy that they finally made it into a movie because there was talks about it and everything.
So, but yeah, he had a good, he had a good review.
If you want to hear that, go over to, to Spotify and search East Society.
and we did a quick little review on it.
No spoilers for that review.
But he gave a lot of info on what he really thought about the film.
So I wish he was here, but the Halloween festivities this weekend.
I do too.
They're out running around.
All right.
I have questions.
I wish he was here too.
I have trouble believing that this may be matched anywhere near what a video game would be.
But we'll find out, I guess.
So you guys ready to jump into Cool of the Week?
Yeah, I'll go first because, of course, I'm not watching anything outside of 31, so I have some family over.
Of course, nobody wants to watch anything horror other than me and my daughter, so we picked it comedy, and we watched the new Netflix comedy, old dads with Bill Burr.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Connoval and Bokeem Woodbine.
It's fine.
Oh, I didn't know Bobby Conval.
he was in it. Okay. Yeah, it's
basically Bill Burr's being
Bill Burr, and
he's dealing with having a kid
at, I think he has like a
five or six year old, and he's like
in his early 50s, and
then he's
Bobby Carnival's his friend, and he has
a kid, and he's old, and
Bokine Woodbine is
already has grown kids,
but then he
gets his young girlfriend pregnant,
and they're all basically dealing with
In fact, they're old men having kids.
Wait a minute. Hold on.
If they're early 50s, they're not old man.
Am I right, Nez?
I don't know.
I feel old.
Old for having a kid, though.
Then they're not going to be in that house to you're dead.
A friend of mine, yeah, my friend of mine had a kid in his 50s.
That's why we're made with Florida.
I was like, what are you doing?
I mean, no offense to anybody that has kids when you're that old, but I ain't the one.
No.
I just put it this way.
Robert De Niro.
Sorry, Ryan.
Robert De Niro.
Didn't he just have a kid or something?
I thought that was Al Pacino.
I think both of them.
I think both of them did.
They're billionaires so they can afford it.
Well, my dad was still having kids because I got teenage brother and sister.
And I'm in my 40s.
All right.
Not me.
No.
My grandson is enough.
But the comedy was okay.
I guess if you like Bill Burr and his comedy,
because it was just basically how I pictured Bill Burr would react to having a kid
and having to deal with everybody's different ways of raising children
and what you can and can't do and can't say.
So I think, but...
It sounds like a good concept.
Yeah, but I like Bochene Woodbine in it,
just him and having him.
to deal with having a young girlfriend, which before the pregnancy, like, there was nobody wanted to get married or have kids, but then she gets pregnant.
Even though he has a vasectomy, he still gets a pregnant.
It can happen.
And then he's just, of course, that changes her whole outlook.
Maybe we should get married and now he's dealing with everything.
And I like Bobby Connoval. He's a funny guy.
Oh, yeah.
He's great in everything, man.
Is that it, Brian?
Yeah.
Still watching, still going through Chucky with my daughter.
We're wrapping up season one.
She's liking it so far.
And, of course, I did my yearly watch of the movie that's better than Witchboard, Night of the Demons.
Is that remake any good for that one?
What's the name from American Pie?
I guess. I don't know.
I didn't hate it, but it does.
If I had to pick one, definitely is because not a Demon's the original.
It's like, I've watched, ever since I watched it as a kid, I watched it every year in October.
It's kind of like a routine, my October routine.
That's the one with Tom Adkins, right?
that's neither creeps
okay so I'm not
help me out what is nine of the demons then
when they're in that mansion or whatever
and they have a big party
Lania Quigley puts the lipstick in her
boom yeah
oh okay
I'm not say we reviewed it Lance
I was what to say
I'd have to pull your horror card
I guess so yeah
but yeah that that's all I got
uh well I'll jump in
I got caught up on the fall of the House of Usher, the Mike Flanagan series.
Nice.
And it was pretty good.
I don't know if it's as good as, you know, the haunting of Hillhouse or anything like that.
But it was definitely worth watching.
I mean, he's a talented dude.
And those shows are always worth it.
Cool.
Definitely some creepy moments, more than I expected.
Nice.
A lot of jump scares in that or more like thinking, thinking man's type of show?
Um, more thinking.
All right.
So they didn't have like, pretty on par with the rest of his stuff.
Yeah.
I mean, there was a couple of those, but they were pretty few and far between.
Without spoiling anything, is it connected to a specific Edgar Allen Post story, or is it like a mixture of things?
So it's a mixture of things.
Gotcha.
And it's kind of like vaguely connected, although not so vaguely towards the end.
They start like quoting them and stuff.
Okay.
Kind of a love letter to pose.
Yeah.
Yeah, definitely.
What's you got, Naz?
It was a movie that came out last year, but they redid it.
Marvel Studios in Disney Plus.
Last year they dropped, um, uh, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
Warwolf by Night.
Yes.
And it was black and white.
Some of it, little bits and pieces was,
in color, but they colorized
it and they put it out again.
I don't want to watch it.
Oh, man.
It was my, the reason I loved it so much
other than the horror aspect of the whole
thing is the character
Ted, aka man thing.
It was finally
a good representation of him that
looked cool.
You didn't like that Stanley, straight to VHS
movie that came out back in the day?
I think it was
sci-fi.
It was what it was.
It was what it was.
I have it somewhere here
and all this mess of movies.
I liked what they did.
Because when it first came out
the first time,
I really didn't pay attention to the trailers
because he was in the trailer.
So that first time I watched it
when they showed him,
I was like, oh my God,
I couldn't believe it.
But then, so I was like,
all right, I need to watch this.
I totally,
forgot how it went. So it was like rewatching it again for the first time.
That's cool. I loved all the colors. I love when Man Thing finally comes on the screen. He's huge and he's green and everything. So I thought that was awesome. I do have my Funko Pop man thing right here. This is how he looked in the black and white.
Biggest Funko Pop I've ever seen. In the black and white version, that's why I look. So now I'm hoping that they make a colorized version of that one.
But it was cool.
It was awesome to see it all in color.
I'd like to see how they did it.
At first I thought I did some reading on it.
I thought they just showed us what they shot,
because obviously everything's in color when you're filming it.
But from what I understood,
they filmed it in black and white with black and white film
and added the little color bits to the original version.
So this one, they went in there and colorized the whole thing.
so the computers went in there and they colored everybody up it looks so good that it didn't even look like they colorized it it was like they just showed us the actual film that they filmed but uh so it was really good i like it i wish it was longer i'm hoping that we get more from what i understand we're getting another story next year uh but i don't know it depends on the whole strike thing that's happening and uh it was just glorious in color so i'm hoping
they did put Loki out on
Blu-ray, which I didn't get,
but I see that it's still out there, the steelbook.
I hope...
It ain't coming out until December.
What the...
Steelbook?
For...
Loki.
It's already out.
Is it?
Yeah, it's been out.
You're talking about season one, right?
Yeah, season one.
Yeah, it's been out.
Brian, you're talking about season two, aren't you?
No, season two still going.
Yeah, they wouldn't.
They wouldn't put the steelbook out.
Well, I thought it may be wrapped up by then or something.
No, there's two more episodes, I believe it.
And that would be another cool week.
Loki, I don't know if you guys are watching that, season two, has been awesome.
Is it?
I haven't caught it yet.
Yeah, and I'm happy to short rounds in it now.
So that's awesome.
Oh, nice.
Academy Award winner, Short Round, AKA Data, Data, whatever one of the case is the name.
But, yeah, the colorized version of Werewolf by Night on Disney Plus,
definitely check it out depending on where you're at in the world i know a lot of disney plus stuff
is on hulu so yeah wherever you guys see if you guys haven't watched it if you've seen the black
and white version watch the colorized one because it looks cool plus they had all the blood and
everything so that was even awesome but yeah how was it cool all right well i had the the the five-year-old
over shit i should have had her for this show instead of asking the 13 year old she probably
wouldn't have bailed on me, but we were
wanting to watch something that's kind of like Halloween related.
So I'm like, you know, there's like the Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse animated movies, like the one where
Many Mouse is a Witch and Goofy
Goofy plays like Frankenstein's monster and Mickey plays
like Dracula. You know, you got the Universal Monsters, but
with the Disney characters. And we get about
five minutes into that. She looks at me and she says,
Papa, this is stupid. And I said, what do you mean? This is stupid.
is Mickey and the Gangs.
She said, this is really boring, and it's not even scary.
And I said, okay, all right.
So, what do you want to try then?
I was flipping through, and they had something called a series called Behind the Attraction on the Disney Channel.
Have you guys heard of this?
I have not.
Okay, it is a, yeah, it's a documentary series of all things.
And I thought, okay, there is no way that she's going to want to watch this, because I
thought, okay, it's going to be a documentary.
So they're talking about the making
of the haunted mansion. They originally
did the one in Anaheim and then
Disney World and the other
ones around it at the other Disney
World locations or Disneyland
around the world and get
about five minutes into it and I said, okay,
she's about to tap out because it's nothing
about like talking heads being interviewed.
And I mean, these guys are like in their
70s and 80s. These guys
are like older than us, Niz.
Like the original Imagineer is talking.
about well we had this plan and we were gonna do it this way we thought about a pirate
theme but we went with this and and then I said are you you want to keep watching this and
she said she looks happy she goes pap off this is history and I'm like excuse me
five-year-old and I'm like okay and so she's just sitting there with her mouth agate like
checking out this story of how it got made and then we finished that one and she said
Peppa, let's see the one about the Cinderella's castle.
And I said, really?
They're talking about building the castle and Walt Disney's original ideas for the castle and all that.
So I don't know.
I was blown away.
So I went through and watched some more of those, but I'm going to finish those.
This is on the Disney Channel guys.
It's called Behind the Attraction.
I think they're going to do a season two as well.
So I think they did like, well, the major rides, like Jungle Cruise started.
off. I think
the Rock produces some of these
because it's always as produced by
Duane Johnson toward the end of the show.
Haunted Mansion,
the castles, a lot of, you know,
different trams and stuff. So I think season
two they're going to get into
more of the rides. But
yeah, it's a pretty good doc series,
guys. And as Brian knows,
I saw several documentaries
in my last 31 days and some were good and
some not so good, but this and
these are up there man they put a lot of thought and quality into these so uh behind the attraction guys
disney channel nice is that new the haunted mansion any good i like it yeah i'm doing a lot scared
more towards children though was it better than eddie murfys because i like that one i didn't
like that one i forgot about that one don't remember it but i remember not
not liking it.
I liked the Eddie Murphy one.
I saw it twice in the theater.
I just,
I think I got pissed off because I kept,
it's Eddie Murphy,
so I kept thinking he was about to go off on a tangent about like ghost penises or something
like that,
but he never did.
So I was kind of disappointed,
but I don't know.
Not my cup of tea.
I like the new one,
though, Ness.
But it's a lot of CGI,
but like I was telling Brian,
I thought it was CGI done right, you know?
Yeah, it's good CGI.
It kind of, some of it makes you kind of feel like you're, you would be on the ride,
stuff you would see and stuff like that.
And the cast is pretty, pretty good.
It's not American Werewolf and Paris, CGI?
Oh.
Yeah, we won't be watching that one anytime soon.
Again.
Nobody bungee's off the Eiffel Tower, it is.
And the Statue of Liberty.
That's right.
Brian, we got any news?
Yeah, funny enough, some things came out.
I guess some things are okay to report on because of the part of the strike is done with.
So some things are kind of moving forward.
And one of them is Amazon is moving forward with the series adaptation of the girl with the dragon tattoo.
Great book series, man.
great book series so I think because I think we talked about it a while ago how they're doing the Harry Potter series and each season's going to be an entire book I think that's what they're doing with this instead of
shortening a book down to one movie yeah kind of hard to do it's a good idea let's see the black phone two gets green lit and gets a June hold on Lance hold you hate till the end
gets a June 27, 2025 release date.
Didn't he die?
Spoiler alert.
I heard it's going to be a prequel.
That makes sense.
Of course.
I'd like to know where that guy came from.
All right.
So if it's a prequel, then it's going to be a lot of murdered children.
Yeah.
I have to rewatch that first one again.
I liked it.
I don't care what Lynn says, everyone.
Yeah, most people, most people did.
A lot of people did.
I know.
That's all we're getting another one.
I mean, look, it was no
Pet Cemetery Remake, so.
Oh, I guess.
What are you getting to do?
Yeah, you heard that.
I watched Blood,
bloodline or whatever again.
Yeah?
No.
Bloodshot.
Bloodshot.
I'm still the same.
Yeah.
It's a good comic book.
It's a good comic book.
I don't know.
Movie didn't live up to it, though.
I think you guys are talking about two different things.
No, that was a good movie.
Bloodshot, that was hell of good.
You said Ben Diesel?
I'm talking about Pet Cemetery, Bloodliner.
Oh, okay.
I watched that.
I watch that.
Ben Diesel's reference.
Come on.
Oh, Ben Diesel's outside your house.
Okay.
All right.
Dev Patel has set the star
in the Elijah Wood-produced horror film
Rabbit Trap.
too talented people
yeah I guess it depends on how much the producer has to do with it
it doesn't always mean much for me if it's produced by somebody
well he
me and this talked about it
Elijah Wood has his company
Spectre Vision he's like super big in the horror
so
that makes sense he's a weird dude
yeah and I keep hearing he has an amazing idea
for a nightmare on Elm Street movie but
I guess West Craven
Estate is more about
How much
Not how good
Oh
Gotcha
From what I understand
If that's not the case
Don't come at us
West Craven Estate
But I am hearing
You guys are seemingly about
How much
And not how good the idea is
How much money
Yeah
Let's check out
it out. It's about time Freddie made a real comeback.
Just give us another
Freddy's nightmares.
I think he could do that.
Anthology series?
Because I heard
not only Elijah Wood has an idea,
but I heard Robert England has an idea
that would not only
kind of, not only that would
involve him, but basically be a
past a torch kind of a movie.
Okay. Okay.
All right.
That's a torch for another kid killer?
Yeah.
Jesus Christ.
All right. Now, this is
rumored, but
Mia Gauth is reportedly playing
The Bride in Guillermo del Toro's
Frankenstein movie for Netflix.
Is she like three feet tall?
Don't Frankenstein wear
platforms? She can wear platforms too.
That's right. That's right. To make her four feet?
Okay. Yes.
I mean, that makes sense.
Two more feet of hair.
What's that, Philip?
that makes sense she's a weird looking chick yeah i can see that yeah like i can immediately see her
face as a bright of frankenstein thing but like in a good way that like not she's she's very pretty
she's just weird looking mm-hmm how old is she before i go any further yeah okay she's 30
right brine i brought that up a few weeks of back she she knows she's different though because
she's married to shy leboof
she is?
Yeah, they got a kid together and everything.
Oh man, speaking
to him, I saw some pictures. He was out
hanging on the res, partying
with all the res people.
I don't know where they were, but they looked like
they were drunk and high.
Shaya got higher.
He pops up in places you wouldn't expect
him to. Yeah. You never know what
to expect from that guy. It's like you hear stories
of him being really super cool and then, you know,
he gets in a ton of trouble.
saw some body camp footage of him getting arrested and he was losing his mind.
Yeah, not to condone anything he's gotten in trouble for, but I guess you got,
I guess you got to admire that he kind of owns up to all his,
he doesn't like try to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
I mean, you know he'd be fun to hang out with.
He doesn't try to like, ah, no, that wasn't me.
No, no, he's just like, yeah, that was me.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I fucked up.
And?
Yeah, party.
Not that he remembers any of it, but, you know.
He, as far as, like, his acting stuff, he's really humble.
Because, uh, you guys seen the movie.
I'm pretty sure somebody's seen the movie holes when he was younger.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
They did, like, the, they just recently did, like, a reunion thing.
I saw, like, a video on YouTube, and he, he went to the reunion because they're doing the whole, like, it was at a park,
and they put up the big screen and showing it at the park.
and he like showed up
oh good for him
yeah I still like that movie he did
um
was it Disturbia was that it was called
oh yeah
Disturbia yeah
Disturbia yeah
yeah that movie was good
rear rear window version 6.0
yeah
I saw it towards the end of his run
in the theater because everyone was I didn't
care for I didn't care for him
but everyone was telling me that it was good
I went, all right, so I went and seen it.
And I was like, yeah, that was pretty good.
I liked it.
He wasted a hell of a lot of Twinkies in that movie.
Like in that Twinkie Tower.
I mean, if you're on house arrest, I guess you like do weird shit.
Get bored.
I'm like on house arrest.
I'm ready to make a Twinkie castle.
He's a good actor.
He's just a little bit nuts.
I have been taking advantage of that, the Walmart app, doing my shopping that way.
and just have my son drive down there and get it.
How you got to do is pull up to the front, tell them you're there,
and bring it out to you.
That's the best.
All right.
We're going to finish horror headlines with MGM is moving forward with the Blacula reboot.
Okay.
It's coming in 2025, and this is a reboot, so it will connect to the original one.
Hmm.
Is that what reboots do?
Which original one?
I mean, there was a couple, wasn't there?
Yeah, I don't know the rules of reboots and remakes and re-gills and re-imaginings.
Need to watch ketchup on your scream movies, Brian.
Yeah, but they change those rules every time a new movie comes out.
True, true.
Because what, there was Blacula, then it was Scream, Blackyla, scream or whatever?
Maybe I read it wrong.
Maybe it won't.
it'll connect to the original movies.
Yeah, there was two of them.
Yeah.
First one was in 72 and the next one was in 73.
I haven't seen the second one.
I saw the first one because Mike,
well, shit, it's on AMC Plus.
I guess I'll watch it then.
Because I think Mike and I did it,
or was that you and I, Brian, that did it?
I don't know.
I don't know, someone I did it with it.
Like I said on one of our 31 days,
it's all a blur now.
Yeah, I know we did it.
I know, but I don't remember.
At some point.
When I make the schedule for the horror turns, I'm constantly checking back.
It's like, we didn't do this, but we did do this movie like five years ago.
It happens, yeah.
We got that spreadsheet I've been saying I'm going to make.
I've got to get around to that one day, Brian.
Yeah.
We'll have to have a must-watch list and make sure we get them all checked back.
Oh, I know.
I keep forgetting to do this every week.
a Texas Fright Mayor guest
update.
Oh, yes.
Absolutely, man.
All right, I'm pulling it up
right now.
I know that I only did one
update and that was
um,
uh,
damn, help me out guys.
Oh, you're talking about
Warwick Davis.
Warwick Davis. That's right. That's right.
Added to the guest list.
Toxic Avenger.
Oh, no.
That's the other short guy.
Never mind.
Oops.
I have a whole group of people.
Can someone edit that out?
All right.
Added to the guest list for 2024's Texas Frightmare Weekend is David Notton from American
Warwolf in London.
And Popperk the song Making It.
Yeah, Griffin.
Also Griffin Dunn, so it looks like we're getting an American Werewolf in Paris panel.
Speaking of him, if I get a, if I get it.
if his line isn't out of control, Griffin Dunn.
I want to talk to him about
After our...
No, my girl. If you guys have seen that one.
Yeah. Yes.
There was... There was... Oh, my God. I want to ask him
some questions about that movie. I can't watch that movie at all.
I'll tell you what. I guarantee me... I haven't seen it in 20 years.
You're talking about the relationship between...
No, when she left
McCulley's funeral
when she ran out of there and she ran to his house
and he was getting ready to come and he was talking to her
and she was having just a breakdown
like how did that make you feel after that scene
knowing what she had to go through
to deal with the loss of her friend
and yeah that movie's rough
my girl too I didn't care for that one
I don't know it was garbage I guarantee you
I guarantee you.
Last action hero kid in there.
Last action hero kid.
You don't see him too often.
He was in the second.
He was in the second, my girl.
Wasn't he in that Hupy Goldberg, Dinosaur movie?
Creascared.
Yeah.
P-Rex or whatever.
He peaked at Last Action Hero.
All right.
Hey, if we show up and we're all dressed up as Nazi werewolves with the sheen guns,
I guarantee you we'll get interviews
and vote though. You can do
that. Yeah.
Yeah, I think I'll pass.
Yeah.
All right.
Also on the guest list
from scanners and total recall
Michael Ironside.
Oh, okay.
Always wanted to meet that guy.
We'll be talking about him later.
Not on this show.
On another show.
Let's see.
Leatherface, the Texas
Chainsaw Masker 3, Director,
Jeff Burr will be there.
Okay.
Of course, as always,
Tom Savini.
As always, yes.
Creator
of Hatchet and Frozen
Adam Green.
Adam Green.
Is that the one when they were on the
Skela?
The Skelet chair?
Yeah. Not the
Disney one. I'm never seen that
and I'll never see it.
It's good, man. It's a good movie.
I'm good. I'm good. I think you guys are talking about two different movies again.
I'm talking about the one at the ski resort, not that Disney.
No, I'm talking about the ski left too, man. It's a good one. But he also did the Blair Witch, didn't he, with the aliens?
That's Adam Wingard.
Who's going to take my horror card away from me tonight, Brian?
He should know that one.
Drink more.
All right.
I got to quit drinking this and drink some real beer, I guess, huh?
He's a white claw.
Also on the guest list, Ness, Kane Hodder will be there.
Yes, I met him, no, I met him once at Comic Con one year, but I'm trying to get, I don't want to pay a billion dollars.
Don't want him to sign my hockey mask, or do I want him to sign my Friday 13th book?
I don't know.
Bring him both.
yeah i probably bring both because uh kyle his favorite one was um uh part eight jason takes manhattan and i have that hockey mask in here
so yeah i might tell i might i might just shell out the two hundred dollars or whatever hell he's charging total i'm sure it's not a hundred dollars each but
are just having signed my book and carry them both up and set them in front of him see what happens oh man they got their
handlers right there. I know.
Oh, yeah, we
know. So
the next
guess I'm about to say, apparently
they're going to have a hatchet panel,
I'm assuming, because of
Adam Green and Kane
Hodder. We just seen her
in Halloween 4, Daniel Harris.
Okay.
We'll be there.
Speaking of
hatchet, I've only seen the
first one and then Victor Crowley.
second one's my favorite there's two there's two in between those so there's four total yeah second one's my favorite okay was this
Brian was the second one the one with the airplane that crashed or was that was Victor Crowley
all right but remind me the second I remember the two is when Daniel when they replaced the main actress with Daniel Harris
okay okay and you get of course Kane Hodder Tony Todd right it's when they all
organize the search party that goes back to the swamp.
So you've got a whole cast of characters.
Okay, that's right.
It was kind of like a direct sequel, but they changed one character out.
Yeah.
When I went to the Sleepaway Camp commentary screening in Sacramento,
Felissa Rose was there, and she signed my Victor Crowley Blu-ray.
So I was happy she had.
I didn't even realize she was in it until I watched it.
Plus, my buddy.
Brian Quinn from Practical Jokers.
He's also in that one.
So I thought that was cool.
He's right here if you can see him.
My buddy, Brian, Brian Quinn,
Q.
All right.
And finally,
this guy's going to get a lot of
questions about the franchise.
Yep.
Sean S. Cunningham.
Yes. I cannot wait.
I'm so excited when I saw that.
I've never met the man,
and I'm just going to get on my knees for him.
Because, man, he's the leader of my favorite horror movie of all time.
If you don't know who he is, you need to throw away your horror cards.
Sean, if you're listening, just be prepared for everybody to ask you, when is the next fucking movie coming?
I'm going to praise him for giving me that first one, my favorite horror movie of all time, the original.
Friday of the 13th
and
not
fucking Jason goes
a hell
he was a part of that one too
trash
You gotta love them all
No I don't
I don't love them all
I hate that one
What about Jason X
That's where it goes to space right
That was awesome
That was hell of good
That was hell of that one
We need to do a commentary
For that one
That one was hell good
I should have chose that
The girl the sleeping bag
It was great
Yes.
I should have chose that instead of mean girls and
Little Darling.
What was the other one?
You'll have another chance.
All right.
That's four headlines.
All right.
Y'all ready for the trailer park?
Yep.
Brian is going to bring us the big,
the small, and sometimes the very, very weird.
What did we got to talk about tonight, Brian?
The only one we got to talk about is a
teaser for a movie that won't come out until next year because of
strikes and stuff like that is
Lisa Frankenstein. This is directed
by Zelda Williams and written by
Diablo Cody. Who is that? That name sounds familiar.
Juno, she wrote Juno, Jennifer's
body, a bunch of other stuff.
I just watched Jennifer's body. That's why.
All right.
Jennifer body's,
Jennifer's body is, I think, underrated.
Yeah.
It is because I hated it.
I saw it once.
Yeah, there you look at him,
chugging it.
I saw it once when it first came out,
and I didn't care for it.
I just thought it was teeny bopper bullshit.
But then I rewatched it recently,
and man, dude, that movie was awesome.
Yeah.
Now I need to buy it.
Yeah, because say what you well about making,
Megan Fox
She was pretty
fucking good in that movie
She was
And the other girl
The dumb girl from mean girls
I like Amanda Siegfried
She was pretty good in it
I like her more than
That's right
She wasn't
I like her more than
Big Dumbs
Speaking of her
That movie she did with Kevin Bacon
Have you guys seen that one?
The new brand new one
Which?
No.
He's talking about the one, Lance, where
they go in the walls and
Oh.
Yeah.
Was she in that movie?
Oh, that's mad.
I said I
They should have left.
I said I don't use this word too often
when it comes to movies,
but that movie is trash.
Well,
it's based on a novel
called House of Leaves.
And the novel is like written in such a way
that it's like the person's slowly going mad.
as they discover different parts of the house.
So like you'll have one chapter
where they'll put like one letter on each page for like 12 pages
and then they'll scribble a whole bunch of letters on.
So yeah, it's weird, Brian.
I don't say how you could really translate it to a movie.
Yeah, so they made a movie where the viewer will constantly go mad from Borden.
No spoilers. I haven't seen it.
I'm watching.
I just pulled it up on IMD.
It's on Peacog.
But I saw her kissing Kevin Bacon.
Is that his wife?
Yeah.
So what is she like 20 and he's like 60?
I think they,
I think they mentioned that in the movie.
Good for him, man.
Good for him, man.
A little hot blonde.
Bocheme Woodbine action.
It's Blumhouse.
That doesn't mean a lot anymore in my opinion.
Yeah.
I'll check it out.
Lisa Frankenstein stars Carla Gujino,
which is still hot to this day.
Catherine Newton
You guys may remember her from Freaky
The main girl
And Ant Man's daughter
And the last Ant Man movie
And a bunch of other people
This is going to the theater
I don't see why not
It just looks like a stylish updated version
Of Frankenstein
Or my
My boyfriend's back.
My boyfriend's back is what it reminded me.
There you go.
Which is a great movie.
I love this trailer, man.
Like the, they got the music going.
I mean, I don't know how the movie is actually going to be, but they did a really good job on the trailer.
I like it.
Yeah, let me read a synopsis real quick.
In 1989, an unpopular high school girl named Lisa accidentally reanimates a handsome Victorian corpse during a
lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into a man of her dreams by using a broken tanning
bed in her garage.
Why not?
Okay, so a little weird science mixed in too then, huh?
Yeah, I dug the trailer.
Like I said, it's a stylish update, like Phillips said.
I like the music in it, and I love Carla Gugino.
And Catherine Newton, I loved her in Freaky.
not so much as Ant Man's daughter
Well, that's
A different reason. I think she
Not underutilized, but
Just kind of misplaced
In that movie.
Yeah, like how much can you really do with that role?
Yeah.
Yeah, I get it.
So, I'm in.
But we won't see it until
sometime next year.
Said February, so
That can all change.
That can all change.
I don't think it will.
would change. I think they would drop it. It's not
like anything
blockbustery, but
I'll, if
I see it, I'll give it
the next weekend. I'll let all the kids go
see it because it looks like one of those
movies is going to be packed with teenagers. It won't
shut up and stay off their phones.
Oh, no. What a nightmare.
Yeah, so,
but I want to see it. It looks good.
Lance?
Yeah,
I'm in, man. It looked pretty cool.
Of course, you title Lisa Frankenstein.
I just think of Lisa Frank.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
That artist who does like all the happy little bunny rabbits and horses
and different bright colors and stuff like that.
So I'm like...
Eid's binders.
Well, I think it is a pun on words.
Don't you guys think?
I mean, don't you think the thing?
And Diablo Cody, I mean, you can't...
Like I said, she's won an Oscar.
Everything she's written, I've enjoyed.
So she knew what she was doing.
I trust her and I trust this movie.
So I'll be there.
I'll be there.
All right.
February 9th next year.
Okay.
On to some listener feedback.
Oh, but first.
Ryan has an announcement to make.
Oh, okay.
Yes.
Big special thanks to everybody that listens, downloaded,
everybody that's came on the show and helped us out.
Big special thanks to my calls.
host on here. Nez, Phil,
Lance, we finally hit
the 100,000 download mark.
Oh, awesome.
Yes. It only took us
18 years, but we did it.
That's right.
You get the same couple of people
that downloaded over and over again. You'd be all right.
But extra special
thanks to everybody that downloaded
this month, because I
think I checked, Lance. I think this was
our biggest October.
And it ain't over yet, right?
I mean, we'll get some few days left.
So, well done.
Well done, guys.
Well done.
I'm impressed.
All right.
All right.
On to the listener feedback.
Thank you guys.
This week we're going to shine the podcast spotlight on B-Movie Babylon.
B-Movie is a safe space for cult cinema lovers who we firmly believe the B-N-B-Movies stands for brilliant.
From cult exploitation, horror, actions, skin, skin, max,
Flicks. Okay.
M. Neon.
I'll be taking a deep dive
into some of the greatest trash films ever
made. That ought to be fun.
Yes.
And I believe his last
video and podcast he put out
because he's on
you can find his
the YouTube videos at The Horror Geek. That's his
other show he does.
The Horror Geek. Okay.
Yeah. And I think his last
movie he talked about for B-Movie Babylon was
the Brian Bosworth
classic
Stone Cold.
Oh God.
Oh God.
I remember that.
We did that, didn't we?
Yeah, we did.
And real quick, I want to
everybody go support
the Let's Talk Horror Channel.
He needs some support
right now.
The Let's Talk Horror Channel.
He was kind of,
he's kind of questioning
if he wants to continue doing it
or not.
So he's making a
basically
a final push to see
if he still wants to do this.
So everybody go
support the Let's Talk Horror.
Sounds like we need to do a crossover show.
So if you're listening,
invites out there, for sure.
Always exciting.
It's always a lot of fun to get with fellow podcasters,
wouldn't you guys agree?
Oh, yeah.
Like work with different people and meet new people.
Like I said,
all kidding aside niz i used to listen to you dude before i knew who you were and i was like this blind
frankenstein guy is is hilarious and especially when he has like the macho man randy savage and stuff
like that the impressions he does but then i'm like but this but this dude nez that gets on with him
and talks to horror maybe he's this guy's at this level we're we're all at this level in fact i'm
down here because uh brian revoked my horror card tonight but nez's horror knowledge is nes's horror
knowledge is here and it comes out
in everything you say, man.
So, yeah, dude.
Is that how we met?
Well, that's how I first heard you.
And then I think I reached out to you.
And I said, man, this dude knows his horror.
And I'd like to have him on the show or something like that.
Yeah, I think the first show you came on was when we did
Train to Busan and, uh, what's that Jamie Lee Curtis movie on the train?
Oh, God, Territory.
I think that was the first.
first episode you came on.
I can remember
me. Sounds right.
How long is
you guys been a show now? How long have we
been a show now?
I think what, seven years?
Eight years.
That's been a little bit.
Did you guys start before us or after?
Because East Society
is seven.
Seven years before us. I had
McNaz. I had that
for I think eight years.
Seven, no. Both of the
shows. I did, I started early
2016
I want to say
We're in between
I want to say we're in between there
All right so I think we're all seven years
Sounds about right
All right
Little podcast history
We also have
Kate Pollock
Says when evil lurks
Will apparently be on Shutter
On October 27th
We'll talk about that on my next 31 update
Cool cool
And regarding murder by phone, Marcy Pupandria says,
is it Louise Lassar's rotary phone bead?
It was a movie.
It beat your mind says, yes, yes, it is.
And Mark Chivalier says that was my first thought too.
I like this.
They need to put it out on Blu-ray, so any of you big Blu-ray companies are listening.
I'm sure Michael Feltzer's listening.
He can get the rights.
to murder by phone.
You want to see some awesome
awesome deaths? Check that movie out.
I'm getting my movies mixed up. I'm thinking
to don't answer. He had a lot of phone movies.
Yeah, it's kind of a generic name.
Yes, go watch murder by phone.
It's on YouTube.
Outrageous deaths.
Oh, man.
And regarding bone cold.
I hate it when it happens.
Matt Wood says,
Get This in Your Eyeballs, Philip Hensley.
As an ex-military man, this has got you all over it.
Very good film, too.
All right, I'll check it out.
Bone cold.
I've never even heard of it.
Yeah, is that a new one?
A 2023?
I'll find it.
Check that one out.
I'm scared to Google it.
Oh, you're going to find the wrong bone cold, huh?
I downloaded the wrong one.
I'm planning on IBM.
So I'm planning.
Bone Cold is a
2002 thriller
About an experienced black ops sniper
Attempts a nightmareish escape after a failed mission
That would be Philip.
Philip is black ops.
Oh, you can't talk about it.
If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
Regarding the Super Network's cover of
Mirror and the resurrected,
Cameron Sullivan says
Cult dark horror
And classic 90s softcore
Marcy replied
Both great films
So glad I discovered them too
Nice
There is a bone cold
Yeah
Other other
There is not
I don't know how this keeps happening to me
There is I don't want to click on
That's the different show
Yeah.
Marcus Will Turner continued his annual 31 days countdown,
so we got some stuff there.
15, 16, and 17 is the Evil Dead trilogy rewatch.
There you go.
It was only a matter of time before I hailed to the king once more,
and that time is now.
My first ever complete trilogy binge slash rewatch of the season
is a phenomenal threesome that's never stopped being simply gruity.
10, 9.5, and 9 out of 10.
Holy shit.
Well, yeah, you can't go wrong.
I think that works.
Cranpus is number 18.
This continues to be a bloody, bold holiday tradition.
One for the spooky season and the sleigh bells, one.
Nothing like a little Yuletide terror to make October a bit more festive.
8.5 out of 10.
No, he has to give us trick-a-treat too.
Yeah.
Stop giving us updates.
Stop giving us updates saying the script is being written.
Right.
Number 19 is VFW.
All over this graphic and freaking awesome bloodbath has all the makings of an honest-to-God cult classic that's sure to stand the test of time.
Watch it when you want something equally dumb, cheeky, gory, rough, and above all else, richly entertaining.
As all B-movie styling should be 8.5 out of 10.
Damn, he's throwing out some high scores tonight.
Great. Amazing director, too.
20 is cobwebs.
I haven't seen that one yet.
A diabolically cold and heartless story about the ruthless decimation
of a timid child's many safe spaces.
From the school where he's tormented by an annoying bully
who delights in humiliation to a severely,
unsheltered home where his gaslighting parents abuse him to the point where he's not safe in his own dreams.
But if that's not enough, there's a bunch of creepy knocks, scratches, scrapes, and banging inside the walls of his room.
And that's not even the tip of the traumatic, isolating, a terrifying iceberg.
This hugely unlucky boy is about to experience.
Eight out of ten.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a good one.
Check it out, Philip.
Doesn't sound like a happy story.
you'll like it you'll like it uh and the lighthouse is number 21
the lighthouse oh god okay marcus you just lost me
it's time once again for ye to invest in heavily ample themes distressful imagery

Ten out of ten.
Come on.
Whoa.
Jesus Christ.
Okay, well, to each their own.
To each their own, I guess.
And number 22 is
BodyCam.
Overall, this paradoxical number
spotlights not only a
grisly, dirty, and dark tail, but mimics
another dangerous epidemic
that plagues our country and
all its callous glory.
It had plenty to say, and you can't fault it
for crafting two distinct kinds of
terror. One of the unknown and
the other dressed in blue.
Five out of ten.
Ooh. Five out of ten.
Did I see that one? I haven't
seen it. I feel like I saw it.
With Mary J. Blige.
Yeah. Yeah, I saw
it. It's not bad. It's not
I think that's a fair score.
Yeah.
Five out of ten?
Okay.
All right.
Well, it's a lot lower than the ten out of ten to gave Lighthouse.
That's for sure.
That's it for listener feedback.

This week, we're going to spend five nights at Freddy's.
Let's see how that works out.
Welcome to Freddie Fazzbear's Pizza.
where fantasy and fun come to life.
Hit it guys.
If you're watching this video,
it means you've been selected as Freddie's newest security guard.
We're going to have so much fun together.
For a second, you guys talk amongst yourself.
I'm going to get the Rugrats and have them come join us while I do it.
After I talk.
Well, actually, Lance, why don't you take trivia and I'll go get the kids?
Oh, okay, sure. We can do that.
All right, so let's see.
We've got five nights at Freddie Trivia,
director Emma Tammy, also known for The Wind.
And, of course, Brian, our awesome interview that we did with,
that she did with the Hore Returns,
and I did with her.
You remember that one?
Yes, I do.
So, yeah, who says that the Hora Returns doesn't interview people
who go on to bigger budget stuff?
And I remember that interview too.
Super nice lady.
I think she,
super nice to the point where I think
part of the interview was lost.
And she was a...
She was kind enough to
record the second half on the next day.
Indeed.
So, thank you to her.
Because being a film director
and moving on to much bigger things, obviously,
to Five Nights of Freddy's.
Very generous.
interested with her time.
Yes.
We do invite you back any time.
And if you're listening,
Emma, come on back.
We'll talk.
You can explain to me what happened
at the end of this movie.
So writers were
Emma Tammy, Scott Cawthon,
and Seth.
Cuddleback, right?
Yep.
Cuddleback.
Okay.
So here's our trivia.
The animatronic characters
were performed for the entirety
of the film by puppeteers
from the Jim Henson
Company. Nice.
Now for shots where the characters
weren't moving in space,
the puppeteers would control both the head
and also the body movements.
In the rare instances where a character
would actually walk or dance,
a stunt performer would
don the costume.
Meanwhile, the puppeteers control
the heads remotely. Now, that's
kind of a trip. So,
basically, you were inside of a costume, but
You also have a puppeteer moving your head around?
Is that right?
What the hell is that?
Hey.
This is pretty creepy.
Izzy and Logan.
It's not picking you up there.
Oh, my God.
Here, I'll see if I can't fix the background.
Looks like the insane clown posse to me.
Well, yeah, this is Logan and Izzy, and they went to go see the movie with me here.
Let me.
All right.
go. Now we fix the background. There we go.
You guys saw him in the theater, right?
Yeah, we went ahead and went to the theater because it was,
it was Logan's birthday.
Nice, nice.
Every birthday. That's what he wanted to do for his
birthday, so that's what we did.
Yeah.
All right, what did you guys think about it?
I thought it was a cool movie.
Yeah?
Uh-huh.
You've played the video games before, right?
I've seen people play it.
Oh, but you've never actually played through?
I played some of it.
No. How close was it to the video games, though? You know the characters pretty well.
I mean, it was pretty close.
Usually in the games, there'd be a lot more characters.
Oh, really?
But this is just the first movie.
Oh, we're talking about sequels.
Oh, yeah, I'm looking at the...
Looking at what it gross this weekend, worldwide, $130 million.
so there will be sequels.
I assume that made enough money.
Yeah, there were people there dressed up as
five nights characters.
Yeah, $130 million off a $20 million budget.
Oh, well, shoot. Yeah, that'll definitely do it.
Izzy, what do you think?
You like it?
You're going to stick with the mask the whole time?
Yeah.
Okay.
Hey, I've got a question for you guys.
If y'all played the game before, especially you, Logan.
Now, the fact that, spoiler alert, somebody wasn't really necessarily a robot, I guess, or whatever.
Did that happen in the games?
Or were they all actual animatronics in the games?
Well, so there's this guy.
Well, if you go inside the lore,
And it was like a killer that like dressed up in a spring,
what they call spring lock costumes back in like the like 1980s.
In our day.
And he used to kid that kids.
He would take him into like a back room and murder them.
Oh my God.
Okay.
And then the kids wanted to get back at him.
And they shoved him in a spring lot sleep.
Spring lock suit.
But so that happened, that happened in the lore, so it's pretty, yeah.
So the movie about went along with what it was supposed to then.
Yeah, it's just, um, Vanessa wasn't, uh, wasn't William Afton's, uh, just or not,
daughter.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, that's, that's what my, that's what my daughter said that they had changed that
for the movie.
Is Vanessa a person in the games?
yeah one of the newest games oh okay
well shit I stand corrected so I guess that the
movie was true to the to the games then
yeah I remember it being a big horror franchise when it came out
Logan's been trying to get me to play the game since he was little
he's like this is the scariest game ever you gotta play it
and that's like it's dumb
oh yeah gotta have gotta have fast refra you gotta have
reflexes, don't you?
Because you have, like, several screens you have to monitor.
And, like, if you don't watch one for a little while, one of them may creep up on you.
Yeah.
And they'll jump scare you to death.
There's a video of a guy that has multiple screens, and he's all over the place trying to get away from whatever.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Creepy, man.
Yeah, but, and I thought it was a pretty solid movie.
I mean, it was definitely geared more towards kids, but there were some relatively creepy parts.
I'm going to say I like Willie's Wonderland better, but that's just me.
I was surprised to see Matthew Lillard in there.
I didn't realize he was in that, and then, you know, you get the, you get the twist.
but that part at the beginning where he's explaining the,
that was kind of a funny scene when the guy goes into interview for the job
and he's like, do I get paid very well?
Well, no, you really don't.
And the hours are horrible too.
Yeah, at least get to work good hours.
Well, no, they're horrible.
Pays, man, hours are worse.
Yeah, he was pretty good in that role.
I enjoyed that.
I thought Futterman was just kind of, ah.
He was just kind of there.
you know and then you had the the the subplots or the like all those subplots about the
I don't want to spoil too much till we give an alert but kids the the I'll remember if any
of the subplots like the how do I describe it without spoiling it like the family we already
spoiled like the main twist anyway so I we'll just we'll call spoilers at the beginning of this one
fair enough fair enough but is that is that part of the game where they're like
Yeah, the babysitter is really secretly spying on him and stuff like that, or...
No, it's just something they added.
Gotcha.
Okay, so they had like a basic storyline, and they just embellished on it a little for the movie.
That's what it sounds like.
What did you guys think about it?
I'll go.
I guess I...
Brian?
Logan wants to say something real quick?
Oh, yeah.
I thought it was awesome.
It took a lot from the games, and I really liked it.
So would you want to go watch it again?
If I could, I probably would.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, there you go.
It's got rewatchability.
Brian, what do you think?
I enjoyed it for what it was.
I mean, it's not something geared towards me.
And I never played the games.
I'm familiar with it because my daughter played the games.
But I think watching it with her made it more enjoyable because she was kind of walking me through some things.
Like something would happen and I would just turn and look at her.
And then she was like, okay, let me explain this real quick.
Let me break it down for you.
Oh, gotcha.
Yeah.
And she said, I think the one critique she had of the movie was Logan kind of spoke on it.
The one character's relationship to the main actress in the movie.
Yeah.
They kind of changed that for the movie because that's not what the relationship was in the game.
And she also said the movie kind of pulled from several games instead of just one specific game.
So.
But overall she...
That first one, I think the whole game is just you're a night watchman.
you try not to get eaten by these monsters.
It was Willie's Wonderland was the first thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't see that.
No spoilers.
She also watched Willie's Wonderland
and we had a small argument
about it because she said
some things about Nick, Nick Cage that I wasn't
having.
What? Uh-oh.
He's an American icon.
Blasphemy.
I've said all that to her and she kind of rolled her eyes.
But, yeah, I enjoyed it for what it was.
I thought the characters were, or the acting was decent.
I can kind of see what you're saying about Josh Hutchison.
He was just kind of there.
But it was fun to see Matthew Lillard,
because I kind of felt like he was trying to put a little extra into the role
because he was kind of doing a voice too,
changing up his usual voice that he has in other movies.
And I thought the animatronics were pretty cool.
they look like the game from what I can see.
Yeah, sure.
And I think my daughter was saying the main villain of the movie.
Are we in spoilers?
Or we just...
We're all of the spoilers.
We'll go ahead and do spoilers.
I guess she said that's not the original look of the character.
What was...
Okay.
What was his name?
That's what my son was saying.
Springluny?
The animatronic spring lock suit that he went into is called Springlock.
Bonnie. Spring bunny.
But his real name, his real name
was Willie Math.
Well, right, but I'm saying the suit.
Yeah, spring bunny. Oh, okay.
And that's not the original look of it?
Well, there's
multiple variations of it.
Oh, okay.
I like the reveal of the suit, though,
when he comes out from an equal little
cave thing.
Yeah.
It was a good scene.
But overall,
overall yeah i enjoyed it you know watching it with my daughter just kind of added to the entertainment value
because i think i think i would have been where you were lance i think i would have been just kind of like
what's going on who is this what does that mean really quick phil put your son's glasses on real
quick uh i don't know i don't know i don't know my z out of them i know all right little guy that's what
going to look like when you're old with the beard pretty nice look man he'll be he looks just like he looks
yeah you got to see this one she looks like me she looks just like my sister and if you look like
that phil i'm worried about you man i know purple hair and everything huh i get all the makeup for the
show you know uh yes you see the movie yeah
I didn't know anything about this franchise.
I didn't know nothing about the game.
So I went in it with just fresh eyes, not knowing.
Let me just enjoy this movie.
Luckily, my son was there to explain everything that was happening,
like the little guys here.
He knows all the lore, the games, and everything.
All I know, like I said earlier, was just the toys.
That's all I know.
in the little videos that I see here and there.
I've seen actual video clips of the game,
and I never really dove into what it is.
I really like how they look.
Shout out to Jim Hanson's crew.
They're the ones that made it all.
So I thought that was awesome.
The main kid, I could take him or leave him.
I know he kind of bugged me in Hunger Games in that series,
so that's all I see him as.
um what's her name uh was it mary steward masserson is that her name okay um his
was that his aunt or oh yeah okay she yeah i had not seen her in anything uh in a long time so
when she popped up on the screen i've i've always loved her so i was i was stoked that she was in it
but she was playing the,
not the villain,
but like someone that you didn't,
you hated through the film.
Oh,
real quick,
another thing that my daughter pointed out
that I would have had no idea of.
I guess there was cameos from gamers and YouTubers in this movie.
Oh, shit.
Okay.
Yeah,
there was,
there was some dude,
I think when they were in a,
in the cafe with,
yeah,
whoever came up,
he,
he was a somebody.
Eric said the same thing and I
know the cab driver
was one too. Oh really?
Or the yeah, the cab driver.
Do you guys know with you there then?
Yeah. Oh, you do? Yeah.
They're like, oh, okay. Oh, yeah.
That's. Yes, they caught it. I had no idea.
I didn't do that. Again, if I was sitting there by myself, I wouldn't
knew any of this. Also, the, I guess the song
at the very end when the credits were rolling, it was made by a fan
that a long time ago,
however a long time ago and because Eric was was surprised that it was in the movie because the people that made the games and everything didn't make that song it was just a fan that made it so they threw it in there he said it was spoiled to him I don't know if you guys have seen that video but there's a fight there's a in a theater somewhere and there's a fight breaking out and in five nights at Freddy's and you see the credits rolling and he was saying man that song was spoiled to me I looked up the video and I don't know it's just some
some guys in there just fighting I don't know why but it's it's a quick little video
but overall I mean for the for what it was I enjoyed it will I watch it again
maybe not anytime soon I didn't get that much enjoy out of it as maybe the young
younger audience or my son he was all about it he said there was a lot of things that
they changed the story the the the human side of it with the what they with the
the boy and his sister
and that other
sheriff or whatever she was
they said that was Vanessa was a character
but the other ones were kind of
the main character
Mike I believe his name was
he was supposed to be related right
yeah he was just
he's in the game
but he's not the main part of the
story he's just a dude
yeah he's just in it
which is perfect for
Josh Hutchison because he seems to be
just a dude in movies he's in.
He really is, isn't he?
He didn't quite hit his niche or something like that.
I don't know why right now that's like one of my daughter's favorite actors.
Really?
Yeah, I mean, I could figure out why she's a teenage girl.
Yeah, yeah, but.
But I mean, I think the younger ones, you little guys, did you guys love it?
Was it better than you thought it was going to be?
Yeah.
I thought it was super cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that's who they made it for.
And right on,
I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.
Us old guys that don't know nothing about it,
we just,
it was a movie.
Yeah.
But again,
I enjoyed all the,
the Freddie Fasbear and his gang.
I loved all that.
Every time they were on the screen,
that was probably my main reason.
I wanted more of them running around.
And the cupcake thing,
that was my favorite one.
that was running around.
Is that what the cupcake thing does in the game?
No, he's just a decoration.
He's just there.
But I liked it.
At least they brought that into it more.
I did like the score when everything was going haywire
and all the excitement.
I'm pretty sure.
I'm hoping my fingers are crossed that there's a rated R version
because I'm pretty sure that they probably did more,
but they had to cut it.
I was me and my daughter were talking,
and then I just,
there was,
I forgot which scene it was,
but I kind of looked at her and I thought it,
I think they're going to make in us.
Oh,
I can see that.
Yeah.
I can see that.
Well,
it is Bumhouse,
so I can see that.
Did you call them Bumhouse?
Blumhouse, man.
Oh.
They're all about the,
all about the Benjimans, man.
So, I mean, if they re-release it again, rated R version, I'll watch it because I like to see.
Because it did look like they were holding back, especially that scene when all those street tuffs went in there and tried to start a trash in a place before all the Freddie and the gang attacked them.
I think they probably filmed a little bit more, but they had to cut it down.
What are you, Beverly Goldberg?
The two youths.
I was wondering what kind of movie I was watching when the opening shot, you get the one guy in the chair and you got the mask coming down on his face with the spinning gears and blades and stuff.
I was like that was like saw.
This is a kid's movie.
Yeah.
That's why I'm hoping that there's a rated art version.
I'm sure there is.
What about that rule?
In the end, I enjoyed it.
I thought it was cool.
What about that little figurine that was in his locker that it scared him?
Oh.
Is that a thing?
Balloon Boy.
Yeah, his name is Balloon Boy.
He's in the second game.
Oh, okay.
He's like an actual character in the second game that comes and attacks you.
Is he big or is he still little?
No, he's not a, he's not a figurine in the game, like an actual character.
I got you.
How many games is there?
Just take a guess.
I think there's eight games.
Oh, wow.
I didn't know that.
It's been a little bit.
Was there something that you, in the games that you wanted to see that they didn't add in the movie?
Um, I can't really think of anything on the top of my head.
But I'm sure there's a lot of other things if there's eight games.
So, yeah.
From what I understood, this did a killing.
in the box office this weekend.
So I'm sure.
Even with it being on Peacock.
I'm sure we get more.
They said it broke records for Blumhouse,
130.5 million worldwide.
Oh, wow.
It's good property to buy up.
It's getting more.
I'm telling you, like at the back,
I didn't realize it.
I mean, I guess it's Halloween weekend,
but at the back of the theater,
I didn't realize it.
But once we walked out,
there was like a couple of like,
16 to 18 year old girls that were dressed in like pink bunny ear
pretty looking costumes yeah so they were like a whole cult thing they were there
for real yeah they were like dressed up go see it oh so you saw it in the theater yeah how was
the audience reaction to it uh pretty good i mean i didn't notice anybody getting out of hand or
anything? No, there was this one guy
who's like, um,
when the,
when Vanessa said, like,
willing after, they were by,
he's like,
she's sped it.
Oh.
So, they did call out some
stuff. And then when the, when the
spring bonnie thing showed up,
I, I did hear some people
in the background. They're like, yes.
It's a thing, man. It's a thing,
man looking at rotten tomatoes the audience of course has spoken because the tomato meter is at 26
but the audience score is at 89% there you go it was a fun movie i imagine if you're a fan of the game
that you would really love it if you're not a fan of the game maybe go watch willies wonderland
because nicholas cage is way better than anybody it was in this movie
I think Lance didn't really give us.
Oh, Lance, did you give us a good synopsis there?
I'll chime in a little bit more.
So when the movie started, I did enjoy that opening sequence,
like you were talking about,
where it showed the guy that was, you know,
I guess working there first that, of course, didn't make it.
You had to have that in there.
And I did enjoy the 80s style animation on the opening credits.
I kind of like the, you know, the cheesy-looking,
1980s video game style concept there.
And then again, like I said, I thought Liller did a great job, you know,
especially when he's in that one scene where he's like, you know,
trying to interview him to help, trying to help the guy out.
You think at that point he doesn't have an agenda and that he's just trying to help him,
kind of like a social worker type guy trying to help him get a good job and get back on his feet.
And then he's just so frank with, well, no, the hours suck too.
Well, no, the pay's not good.
you know but that was cool and then I love I love the training video that reminded me a lot of a movie that we saw recently Brian
or I've 31 days VHS 85 kind of had that look to it like you know putting in an old VHS tape and
well thank you for welcome to joining the cast here at Freddy's you too can be a cast member you know
I'm old enough to have worked at a job where I've had to sit and
one of those videos on on VHS right yeah yeah I did when I won't start at the
airport yeah they made us watch a stack of VHS tapes and some of us may have
gotten in trouble at work and we had to watch a whole other video about
sensitivity oh no careful careful HR training oh yeah well Philip Philip
Philip nailed it when he said, or no, I'm sorry,
Nez, Nelled it when he said,
I want to see an R-rated version.
I think there's probably a lot more
that they can do with this,
especially if they do expand
the franchise out, which I'm sure they will.
I love the cupcake.
That was a pretty cool little character,
especially when it would fly at you.
It started taking you that way.
Real quick, if there won't
be an R-rated version of this, I'm sure
they'll probably
up the gore maybe or blood or violence
in the sequel
that I could see too
yeah for sure because yeah
if this made it I think they might
they might do our rated version
for the younger
generation and that's probably a lot
who went to see this
yeah because with this box office they could say
if it's not broke don't fix it
that's true but guys
remember something the Harry Potter
movies. As they went on, they got kind of darker and more
sinister, right? Because the kids got older and they became
teenagers and then young adults. So maybe we'll get lucky and see that here.
And maybe we'll get what we're looking for. Or maybe they'll just do
offshoot Freddy movies, right? So we might catch, you know,
an R-rated one if you really want to go see a really gory Friday version,
they'll be one for you, but they'll still be more, you know,
in the main battery like this too. So, you know,
know, not a bad movie.
Just like I said, I had a lot of questions.
You guys, Logan, you answered them for me.
Appreciate that.
I'm glad to know that there really is a...
What did you call it, Roto Bunny or...
Oh, Spring Lock, Sue called...
Spring Bunny.
Spring Bunny.
Okay.
Now I get it.
I do think that they added a lot of backstory that we didn't really need.
Like, they probably could have shaved 10 or 15 minutes
off this without having, you know, the babysitter being involved in that sinister
family and stuff like that, but then you wouldn't have the redemption.
Then we wouldn't have got that scene.
Right. I think that's probably why that was there to get that scene.
Yeah, so I get it. There would have been, there would have been no reason for him to bring his daughter
to work then. Yes, very true. The other thing I wanted to know, since the
Scooby gang solved the mystery of the Freddie Fasbears, and the police were all involved,
won't they go and level this place?
I would hope so.
I don't think, I don't know how,
I assume they're going to come up with an idea how they can carry it on,
but they never leveled the It house.
They just stayed there.
Yeah.
I don't know, because I could see why he kept it there.
And because they,
because they were like,
well, this was shut down in the 80s and
the owner never wanted to shut it down or tear it down.
So, but now since,
he were obviously in spoilers
they figured out
who the bad guy was and he's
basically the owner of the place
why didn't they go in there and just
move it down or why doesn't the town
people go you killed all these
kids I mean evil dies
tonight let's go in there and burn the place down
well I mean the Amityville house is still
there Nes so people are stupid
man they want to
that technically didn't happen
no the second movie
they're going to go back there. It's going to be a bunch of
a bunch of fucking influence. I mean, sorry
kids. It's going to be a bunch of
influencers going
back in there and doing YouTube videos.
Give me a prequel.
This is where he was and this is where
this happened. This is where the spring bunny
was. I say
somebody's going to buy
the place and try to reopen it
and then the murders are going to happen again.
I like that idea.
But then who are they going to buy it from? He's dead.
By him to the city.
the state they're just going to go pay the taxes yeah all right scores i got a lot of questions but i mean i'll see
another one when it comes out oh yeah we'll be there all right scores so like on a rating of one
to ten logan what do you give it um i i say if you know the material i think it would be
in nine out of ten nine out of ten all right so we enjoyed it isy would you
you think eight and a half is what she said i don't know if you can hear it clown mask uh i'll give
busy's getting a character man yeah dude philip i'm worried about i'll bet you get see you get bit
is this a snuff movie or what she's my artsy one she'll shoot me an actor um i'm gonna go with uh six and a half
I thought it was fun.
Nice, nice.
Okay.
Brian?
I'm going to go 6.75, not quite a 7 for me.
I thought it was fun and learned a lot about the game with my daughter.
And then Logan was dropping in some facts in there.
So appreciate it, Logan.
That helps.
Yeah, I mean, the two of you with the stuff you said, cool,
there was some things that you said that my son didn't tell me.
so you too my son telling me everything um just on the joy the enjoyment factor of it all i'd probably
go seven i i did enjoy it if i if i watch it again it won't be any time soon but i'll i'll definitely
rewatch it yeah well that's what you think here we go yeah no none none of none of us hated it um
i i gave it a i give it a six on ten it was uh it was a fun watch that cupcake alone and matthew lillard
kind of stole the show for me, but I'm definitely eager to see kind of where we go from here.
I like some of the ideas that you guys are throwing around with how they might do a sequel,
and I do hope they do an offshoot, like full, full scale, full gore, our rated version.
That would be great.
So, six on ten, didn't hate it.
All right.
Well, I think Blumhouse got a pretty good franchise going on their hands.
They got money for years to come.
There it is.
Well, Logan and...
I did love the...
The romantic song they used.
What's the...
Oh.
When the Freddie...
When the band was playing, yeah.
Oh.
I did like that song.
Was that the Mac?
Was that the Mac?
No, it was the Romantics.
The Romantics.
Good song.
Good song.
I like that song.
Classic 80 stuff, man.
I like it.
That gave it a point.
as well as an older Mary Stewart Masterson.
I fell in love with her and some kind of wonderful
and fried green tomatoes.
That'll do it.
Fried green tomatoes.
Hated her in this movie though.
Wow.
Got to have a villain.
All right.
