Starting point is 00:01:02 I'm Lance, and tonight's co-hosts, we got Brian, Philip, and we're doing Watchers 3 and Watchers Reborn, so that means, who do you guys think is in the house? You're asking us or you're asking the listeners? I'm asking the listeners. It's Steve from the geeks. I was like, are we waiting for an answer from the listeners? Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:27 We might get it, man. We should go online like you guys do, man, and like have interactive feedback shows like in real time and shit. Oh, yeah, do like a live one. That'd be cool if you figure that shit out. Oh, I got my news. It's good when you have like viewers. Sometimes it can be really depressing.
Starting point is 00:01:45 Yeah, that's a good point. Oh, nice. The howling, huh? Oh, we can't say that. I couldn't see it all the way. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, there you go. That looks great.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Very nice. What did you call that? Steve, what did you call that design? The growling or the jaspering or what? Yeah, I have to like make funny names on the T-Public. Otherwise, they get flagged. Oh, yeah. That's how that.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Friday of the 13th one got taken down. Oh, no. Bitches. Didn't you try to put that one back up, Steve? Yeah, I know. It went down again. Yeah. Yeah, I guess what's your...
Starting point is 00:02:28 It's the same on mine. I have a Biker and Mice from Mars design that I really like. I did it like the Sons of Anarchy logo, but Biker Mines from Mars. Oh, cool. Every time I post it, they flag it and take it down. They don't like it, huh? No. That's a great show, man.
Starting point is 00:02:45 which one the biker mice from mars oh okay yes yes indeed that's something we need an updated version of yeah I can see that
Starting point is 00:02:54 although today's animation maybe not yeah it's like that that thunder boot that thunder cats newest cartoon remember that it was like all bubbly bullshit
Starting point is 00:03:04 like Stephen universe do they have snarf in it it doesn't matter they all look like they were bubble creatures it's a terrible art dude that is one that does not hold up.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Not really, huh? Terrible. Oh, no, it's just one of the best intros of all time. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Thundercats. I was on the Thundercats soccer team. Really?
Starting point is 00:03:29 That's what they even called your soccer team then, huh? When I was five, yeah. Jesus Christ. Yeah, I watched that one a lot. I didn't care for He-Manna of the Masters of the Universe that much, but I heard the new movie's pretty cool. Oh, he doesn't see you.
Starting point is 00:03:45 it. No, I haven't seen it yet. Or Disclosure Day. I haven't seen that one yet either. I'm waiting on Disclosure Day for when I need a nap. But I can't believe that you haven't watched National's Universe yet. No. That's a lot of fun. No, I haven't
Starting point is 00:04:01 watched it. I think it's out there now, right? You can rent it now? Or rent it from home? It was out pretty quick. Was it? Okay. Like one of our trailers tonight, Brian. Apparently it's going to be on TV quicker than I thought.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Did they make a change? Lisa's coming out. The movie's been done since last year. I got you, man. All right. Well, you guys want to jump in? Somebody want to tackle Cool of the Week? I'll jump in because mine is not super interesting.
Starting point is 00:04:35 But after watching, what was it, fucking Watchers 3 on YouTube, the movie that came on immediately after it was Terminator 2. And like the whole family just stopped what they were doing and everybody sat down and watched the movie. It was great. I was like,
Starting point is 00:04:53 ah, look that. That's a classic. Yeah. That scene where, uh, that scene where the T-1000 is chasing them through the prison while Sarah Connor is trying to escape is just,
Starting point is 00:05:07 man, iconic, dude. That whole movie is great. I love, I love when you get YouTube movies and they'll start playing like last night when I finished Watchers 4, it started playing, I was a demolition man.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Oh, you haven't seen that ever. YouTube for the win, no commercials, like Toobie's cool, like commercials, so many commercials. That's true.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Hey, did you, is that the one with, were they, all the Taco Bells were Pizza Huts or something in the future? No, all restaurants are Taco Bell.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Ah, all restaurants are Taco Bell. Okay. And the three seashells? Ooh. I have to go back and watch it though because I think there's like a Mandela thing now where it's like is it Pizza Hut or Taco Bell
Starting point is 00:05:50 It was supposed to be Pizza Hut Is that what it was right? Is that what it was right? Well that's kind of weird But uh All right well But yeah That's pretty much all I got
Starting point is 00:06:08 Because currently there's no pizza hut restaurants But plenty of Taco Boots right i heard they're trying to bring the pizza huts back there's like a there's a buffet style straight from the 80s one somewhere that's cool pizza hut used to be awesome no shit oh yeah tables of the big lights and shit those little personal pan pieces get a picture of beer and a personal pan pizza yeah i used to love those things yeah they had the one in san antonio close to where my daughter lived they had like three dollar pitchers of beer and they were like san antonio style pitchers yeah yeah that sounds awesome pizza hub restaurant that was the young yeah that was the 90s film yeah
Starting point is 00:06:55 okay all right so terminator two huh terminator two that's what i got this week all right steve what you got uh i think right now it's house of the dragon okay season uh i really like that show stage already high people are getting killed immediately you're like yeah how many episodes are out three really man i just had i had no idea i like to wait binge yeah man end of episode one you're like oh shit really and then end of episode two oh shit it's like it just keeps getting more and more My wife will actually watch that one. It'll give us a nice break from fucking Love Island. From fucking on Love Island.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Why would you want a break from that? Yeah, it sounds like everything is going fine. Okay. Actually, they are not bad to look at. But there's only so much, you know, naked child whining you can take. Yeah, that's true. I can see, man. So Howl's of the Dragon is definitely my cool week, but I did want to, like, really quickly,
Starting point is 00:08:04 like on 4th of July we watched Independence Day because that's what you do. I haven't seen that for a while. I haven't seen that for the month. And then after that, on Hulu was also Independence Day resurgence, which I have seen once.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I remember not like it. Yeah. So I watched it again. It's bad, but I guess like when you go in knowing it's bad, it's easier to have fun with it. Yeah. Like it's a bad movie.
Starting point is 00:08:31 It's terrible. Like what they do to what's, What's her name Vivica A. Fox? Her death scene is wild. Her death scene is shown from like a mile away. She's no shit. She was a main character. Is that the one with data in it from Star Trek?
Starting point is 00:08:48 He's in like the scientist. Is he in the first one? Yeah, he's in the first one. Oh, fuck. Okay. I just remember being like really, really bad in one of them. So that had to have been the second one, right? He's the same level of good and both.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Okay. So you had that what you had the those two and then they did a remake right? No. No. No remake. Mandela effect. I think you're thinking of like moonfall. Mandela effect.
Starting point is 00:09:15 No, I know. I think it's that resurgence one I didn't like. When did that come out? Was it like 2016 or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, that's the one I'm thinking of. Yeah. I forgot that like Jeff Goldblum was like in most of the movie.
Starting point is 00:09:28 I was like, man, this is really hanging out. And then like they killed, they killed. Smith off, you know, right, like, unceremoniously. And I was like thinking, I'm like, man, if this movie happened after the slap, we definitely would have had Will Smith back in that movie. Man, he'd have been needing that shit.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Welcome to Earth, bitch. Instead, we got A-Train. He could have been. He could. A-train. A-Train was playing O-O-T. Speaking of it. Speaking of which, did you guys, did you guys finish that series?
Starting point is 00:10:06 Do you finish it, Steve? I finished season one. Season one, you got a long way to go. Of what? Of what show? The boys. Oh, yeah, I've watched it all. I finished.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Yeah, what did you think of the ending? It's fine. I just, I guess by the end, I was just, like, getting tired of, God, man, like, this guy's balls are long, too. Right. Like, disgusting. Dick is 12 feet long. He slaps people with it.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Yeah. More of this. More of this. And then, like, I got really irritated with, like, little details. Like, when, like, starlighters fight in the deep at the end. Like, the ocean animals want to kill the deep. But she doesn't know that. The deep is strongest near the ocean.
Starting point is 00:10:51 So why would she take him to the beach to fight him and then push him into the ocean? Unless she knew something, right? She doesn't because when the animals attack him, she's like, huh? She's got that surprise look on her face. I'm like, this is dumb. You're nitpicking, dude. You're nitpicking. I enjoyed it, man.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I like, I like the... The plastic surgery, it affected her brain. Oh, probably. I like butchers ending, man. I like the way it came full circle. I don't know, man. No, no, that was fine. I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:11:20 I'm just complaining about that one little nitpick, but other than that, it was fine. I don't know about the Vought uprising. What is that? The, like, the prequel. Yeah, the prequel. Yeah. I'll probably sit out. Like, I'm with you, dude.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I'm kind of exhausted from it all, you know? You're like more? I don't know. Right. But yeah, so resurgence was, I thought it was fine. Micah Monroe. She was in there. Really?
Starting point is 00:11:47 Okay. Oh, we all got to get paid. Yeah. We all got to get paid. There was a lot of fucking people in there. Like, there was like, all the, like, Joey King, like, when she was a little kid was in there. Like, it was kind of four people. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:00 When she was a kid. Yeah. Was Lulu Wilson in there to piss off Philip? No, but they keep, but Amazon Prime keeps trying to get me to watch an alien movie with her. They keep bringing in a trailer. Like old school Lulu or new Lulu? New.
Starting point is 00:12:15 It's like a new movie. And then Brian, I just wanted to show you this really, but I know you'll appreciate this, Brian, but in my VHS once this week, I found double team. Oh, God. Yes. John Claude.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Oh, my God. I forgot about it. Love all the basketball references, even though his character has nothing to do with basketball. I love the fact that not once, not twice, but three times, somebody is sprinting in this movie, gets tripped, and the camera follows as their face slides on the ground. It kept happening. I'm like, the third one, I was like, oh, my God. Like, just so many. That movie is, all of these are so bad.
Starting point is 00:13:01 But, like, that's why I love them so much. Yeah, got to love that. And Coliseum is singing sponsored by Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola. Cowboy boots and an unbuttoned shirt. You know how it goes. Of course. Of course, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Dennis Robin poking his head out of little European cars. Dennis Robber was a weird animal, man. Oh, no doubt. No doubt. What a time to be alive. Yeah. he's still alive right what a time to be alive
Starting point is 00:13:34 hanging out in Korea or something no glance that was fucking watchers too that's what that okay oh yeah yeah okay um Brian do you want to go
Starting point is 00:13:48 yeah I got three movies first one is on screen box it's called Monke's magic merry go round hmm say that
Starting point is 00:13:59 five times fast I will not. Essentially, it's think of like Mr. Rogers with puppets and the guy realizes... I don't want to. The guy realized, of course not Lance. You don't like horror. The guy realizes he's on this show.
Starting point is 00:14:19 You don't like horror. You can't remember anything except being on the show. And as he's trying to remember his life and past, the puppets are stopping him from remembering. And the practical effects are pretty good. There are some scenes where it's not.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Monkey's magic. What's that again? Monkey's magic. Monkey's magic merry-go-round. Oh, my God. So are they, like, beating him up while he's trying to remember? I don't understand. Yes, they end up torturing him through the movie.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Oh, okay. Wow. I got to find this one. And the next one I watched was Hungry. Hungry? Kilder Epipotamus movie. Oh, I remember when you guys were talking about that. Oh, I heard about this.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Yeah. Have you guys ever seen the movie Blackwater? Yes. The alligator and crocodile movie. Mm-hmm. Okay. Same premise. Basically, they go on this tour and they get attacked.
Starting point is 00:15:29 by a hippopotamus and they're stuck in trees trying to get help. The problem with this movie is there's not enough of the hippopotamus. Oh, no. And when it does attack, it's like dragging the people underwater and you don't
Starting point is 00:15:47 really get to see the kills that much. Oh, boy. Well, it's a good idea, though. I like the idea of a killer hippo. I don't know. I feel like if you're making a movie, about a killer hippopotamus, but you somehow can't find it in the budget to produce said hippopotamus. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:07 You should probably rethink what you're doing. And the hippopotamus, it didn't look that bad. It looked like it was possibly a mix of practical and CGI. Okay. But there just wasn't enough for me. Well, how many shark movies have we watched where it's just stock footage of sharks? Well, that's true.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Well, nobody's saying shark movies are good, Phil. Yeah, I know. There's like a few, but. Or Santa Jaws. You guys remember Santa Jaws? That movie was so stupid that it ended up being okay. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I was like, I just can't believe what I'm watching it. I know. And my last movie I checked out last night. It's available to rent. It is The Furious. Oh, man, I want to see this. If you like the raid and movies like that, you'll love this one. The premise is pretty straightforward.
Starting point is 00:17:06 This guy, he gets his daughter kidnapped and finds out that she got kidnapped by child traffickers. And then he just goes after them and he meets his other. He meets Sub-Zero along the way. Right. Oh, okay. And he's also after them. So they team up and they just kick ass throughout the movie. Yeah, because he had somebody taken also, right?
Starting point is 00:17:29 Yeah. Yeah, I heard Nez talking about that one. This sounds fucking amazing, especially if it's those guys that made the raid. They know what the hell they're doing. Yeah. Yeah, and there's a couple of the guys from the raid movie or in the movie as bad guys.
Starting point is 00:17:43 So it's a good time. Cool. Yeah, I got to check it out. So it's available to rent now, huh? The Furious? Yeah. I'm assuming that's your cool of the week. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Okay, cool. Yeah, I saw the, I saw a new movie that's available to rent now. It kind of flew under the radar. You guys heard of this one, The Death of Robin Hood? Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:11 I want to see this. I didn't know what was available to rent. Yeah, it is. Pennywise is in it. Unrecognizable, right? Like, totally unrecognizable. He kind of looks like a Viking a little bit with a shaved head and a beard and everything.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I'll see for a minute there it sounded like the clown Pennywise was in this movie and you were telling me it was unrecognizable. He might talk up. This is a really weird Robin Hood movie. Yeah, I'll tell you what. I think he guys would probably all enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:18:42 It gets a little slow at times and it's a little bit of talky-talkie, you know, as they say, right? But like they're talking about some deep subjects. Basically, they're trying to tell you that Robin Hood kind of has a death wish for himself because he's feeling guilt about all the people that he had to kill, right, to do all the things he did. So he's now living under an alias, like using a different name. Little John is living under an alias.
Starting point is 00:19:10 It's the same character as Wolverine from Deadpool and Wolverine. Exactly. That's right. So, you know, they're living under an alias and get attacked by people that figure out they know who they are, right? people that they that they messed up in the past and didn't quite kill but almost did and Robin Hood ends up like on this I guess it's like on an island there's a like I don't know what you would call it there's a dude there that's a leper and it's where people go to get healed and there's a leper colon there's not really a leper colony there's like there's a motherfucker on that island with lepros
Starting point is 00:19:48 then it's a leper colony it will be soon yeah but he talks about him and the nun have a lot of, you know, kind of deep philosophical conversations. It gets a little slow, but there's a lot of fucking really intense violence and like hand-to-hand violence. So, you know, a lot of arrow kills, but also like a lot of people just like pummeling each other to death and stuff. So, but that's not my cool of the week. I looked at, I saw who the director was and it was the same guy that did Pig, the Nicholas Cage movie. Oh, yeah. And also quite, yeah, quite placed day. Brian, you told me about that. So I went back and did a rewatch a pig after that.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I'm going to say this is almost a flawless movie. Like on second watch, there were so many things that I missed the first time I saw it. And it really never drags. Like there's always a new place that they're going to or a new thing going on. And, you know, the story's like, I don't know, it's almost perfect. It's almost perfectly written for me. So, I think it's going to be a food of the week. What's that?
Starting point is 00:20:52 You're a foodie. That is true. I appreciate those chef scenes. Oh, definitely. That one where he asked the guy, you know, why are you doing this? Yeah. Remember that one, Brian? Didn't you want to open a real English pub?
Starting point is 00:21:06 And the guy was so smug looking at it all of a sudden his face just drops. And he's like, oh, yeah. Yeah. Kind of made him think about it. It is a good one. It's a good one. You know, when you were talking about Jeff Goldblum earlier, like he could have the same career, like, revival that Nicholas K. just had if he would just be in some stuff right now.
Starting point is 00:21:25 I feel like he's got that same vibe. That's true. He has been, but it's like the last Jurassic Park movie was, eh. Right. And then after that, he did a Netflix show that didn't really go over very good. Like, do something weird. That's what he needs to do. He did Ragner Rock.
Starting point is 00:21:41 That was weird. That was fun. I loved him in that. Yeah. He probably made too much money and was able to take a couple of years off after that. He's got all those like. I'm saying. Do something weird.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Rent.com. Doesn't he do those commercials? Oh, that's right. He's got commercial money, bro. And you know, you know the residuals on Jurassic Park are mani. Of course.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Yeah. And maybe Independence Day. Who knows, right? All right. Moving on. Brian, do we have any horror headlines this week? Yeah, we got a few
Starting point is 00:22:16 first, David Howard Thornton, Art the Clown. joins the cast of Behind the Mask to the Return of Leslie Vernon. Oh, interesting. And he will be in a key role that says. I think, well, and maybe in this universe, like, Art, the Clown is like his buddy. Like, she just goes and talks to him like he does in the first movie.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I got to be on when you guys talk about that one because we did the first one. Yeah. I recommended the first one. It was a great one. I love that movie. Well, if you notice, Steve, it's a classic. I not only saved this been of news for you,
Starting point is 00:22:59 but I also saved the trailer for when you came on. Thank you. I did notice that. Yeah, I'm excited about that one, too. I forgot to, like, we started our 31 days, and I made the guys watch werewolves because they never watched it. Right. I said it sucked.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Better on the rewatch, Steve? Um, again, it's kind of like resurgence. When you know it's bad, you know it sucks. Like, then you're just looking for things that you can find that are good. Like, and like, but the secondhand embarrassment gets no better. Like, uh-oh. The girl and her mom are terrible throughout. That little girl at the end, dude.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Oh, no. Yeah. Let's get them. But like, it was, it was really funny to make all these guys watch it. Right. And then we did cellar dweller, too. Cellar Dweller. I haven't seen that one in years.
Starting point is 00:23:55 I don't think I've ever seen it. That's an old classic about a very famous character actor who is a comic book artist and his comic book drawing comes to life and kills people and burns his house thing. I've heard of it. Sounds fun. Later, they build an art school above it as you do. And some girl draws the same thing and it comes alive. Lots of babies Kind of corny
Starting point is 00:24:22 Yeah That's a plus Drawn And in real life Okay with that Drawing Like the old Frank Frank Baschie or whatever
Starting point is 00:24:36 cartoons remember those Yeah it was like Ralph Bakshi Remember that? Remember that? Like the old Lord of the Reins Heavy metal Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:24:46 Yeah like Photoscope Photoscope. Photoscope tithes. Whatever. That's rough stuff. Sorry, Brian, I didn't mean a hijack here. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Let's see. Off to success of the backrooms, we're getting a lot of analog, internet horror-themed movies. Okay. The first one is they announced the next installment of VHS series, VHS-S-CP.
Starting point is 00:25:18 What? And this will take... I know all about this shit. Yeah? Can you explain the SEP Foundation? It's like a government organization that catches monsters. Okay. That stands for like...
Starting point is 00:25:37 I can't remember what it actually stands for. My son introduced... Special containment procedures. Oh, there we go. Makes sense. But every kind of every... episode is like kind of like body cam footage really grainy and like there's weird monsters and weird things that they're trying to track down and putting into cells and shit so it's just kind of all
Starting point is 00:26:03 over the place there's like hundreds of different monsters there's like oh wow so they can kind of do whatever they want but well big years from what I understand there's so many of these stories that they can make different parts like VHS, SCP, part one, part two, part three. It's all on YouTube. So if you were to go look up SCP as hundreds and hundreds of videos. Okay. Oh, I did look up the Tartaria thing.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Yeah? I just happened to. Actually, I literally just happened to run across a couple of them. Maybe the phone is watching me or listening, I guess. Hell yeah. Some wild stuff. shit, it's weird. SCP 173.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Scariest test in SCP history. Oh, wow. Yeah, there's a lot of shit. Yep. That's cool. Some of them are done like scientific videos. Mm-hmm. It's interesting. If you ever see a statue, you might as well just cut off your eyelids. If you ever see this statue, you might as well cut off your eyelids.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Is it going to make a good movie? Kind of neat. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, the monsters are all weird. Like, it's like a stick with a siren for a head, and it just keeps getting closer. It's like weird shit that like... Okay. That's not like wherewolves and...
Starting point is 00:27:28 I'm sure there's... Yeah, I'm sure there's some that are more imposing than a stick. Yeah. I feel like my kids have shown me a picture of that, though. It's funny you mentioned sirenhead because that specific story is getting... editing adapted to a movie by Zach Kregor. What? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:27:52 A stick with a siren on the top, huh? Is that Zach Craigger? I don't know. Is that Nospherratus? Zackregor? No, weapons, barbarian, Resident Evil. Right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Okay. That Resident Evil one's not out yet, though, right? September. Okay. You're thinking of Robert Eggers, Steve. Robert Eggers. God damn it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Well, he's coming up We'll talk about him tonight. Yeah. Yeah, we'll get to him. And also coming out in the analog internet horror sphere is Stephen Spielberg is going to produce the Mandela catalog movie based on the viral YouTube series. My son was trying to tell me about that. Mandela effect, huh?
Starting point is 00:28:41 I don't think that's what it is. I think it's from like a town called Mandela, the name is just coincidental. No way. Is that how you remember it, Philip? Maybe. Okay. I don't know about that one.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Yeah, but my kid was talking about it. It sounds like it's going to be fun, at least. Yeah, my kid was telling me about Sirenhead and the Mandela catalogs. It says right here, launched in 2021, the YouTube series is set in a fictional Mandela County, Wisconsin. Okay. probably where the Barron Stain Bears are and where the Shazam movie with Sinbad is the fucking cornucopia on the fruit of the loom tag
Starting point is 00:29:26 which I know is out there. Yeah, for sure. The Statue of Liberty? There's a couple of them with that one. What's wrong with the Statue of Liberty? Like it's on, people remember it being on Ellis Island, I think. But it's not. It's on like,
Starting point is 00:29:45 Liberty Island or something. Oh, I probably could have fallen for that, but that's just because I'm bad at geography. That's what I'm saying. There's a couple of them where I'm like, yeah, you're probably right, but I don't know if I remember it well enough to My thing is, is they're like,
Starting point is 00:30:01 there was never a cornucopia over for the loom tag. And I'm like, you're full of shit, because I didn't know what it was before I asked what the fuck that was on the tag and Brian learned what a cornucopia was. I remember it vividly. Yeah, vividly. And the Berenstein Bears thing is I was pretty sure on that one too.
Starting point is 00:30:23 I think it's spelled with an E. I was pretty sure the Monopoly guy wore a monocle too. He did. What are you talking about? Of course he did. He didn't? Yeah. What do you mean he didn't wear a monocle?
Starting point is 00:30:35 He still does, doesn't he? If you look on the locks, hold on. No monocle. You guys are fucking with me now. No monocle. Berenstain Bear and Spare is spelled with an A. all in on this shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:48 On Monopoly Man. Let's see. Hell, sometimes I just watch the flat earth stuff to see. Holy shit. Something convincing? No. The wind intel effect. Well, I've seen it before, though.
Starting point is 00:31:05 It shows it both ways here on this, on this picture. I've seen the one. You got very passionate there, Lance. This is kind of weird. guys something's going on here telling you it's that certain particle auxiliary
Starting point is 00:31:22 higgs boson and they turned it off now so now what's going to happen I don't know maybe that's what the aliens are I can't find anything else that we haven't talked about the obsession past 400 million in the theater making it one of the most profitable movies profitable movies ever
Starting point is 00:31:43 mm-hmm no I was trying to watch that yesterday, but my fucking something, my internet service provider doesn't like me going through a specific site, I think, is what the problem is. Like porno or what? I may have lost my access to free movies. Uh-oh. I know.
Starting point is 00:32:04 This is interesting. Alien Earth Season 2 begins production. Tracy Oman joins the cast. You guys remember Tracy Omm? Gotta be old as dirt, man. I was to say, she's still alive. She's got to be like 90, right? So good, though.
Starting point is 00:32:23 I don't care who they put in that show. That was a good show. You all finish it? Yeah, that is the one show I did finish. And Welcome to Derry. You finished that. Oh, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:36 There you go. They're still doing two more. What was that? The Welcome to Dairy. Aren't they still doing two more seasons? Uh-oh. I don't know. Hello.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Yeah, no, we can hear you. Oh, okay. I believe they are doing two seasons of that, and they keep going further back and back. That was the plan. I heard some rumor. Maybe I got Mandelaid. I heard a rumor they weren't going to go forward. Yeah, there we go.
Starting point is 00:33:07 There we go. That sounded like we lost Brian for a second. Yeah, what was the question? He got Mandelad. Two episodes or two seasons of. Derry? Three. Three.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Okay. Yeah. Three total or three more? Three total. Okay. Unless all three are hit seasons, then... Then they do the Avengers season where they bring all the characters together. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:34 But they do that, Steve. Come on. Fucking James McAvoy. There's nothing kidding. The only sees dollar signs. All right. They do it. They do it for the right price.
Starting point is 00:33:46 All right. Is it trailer park time? Yes, it is. All right, it's time to take a little trip down to the trailer park. Brian is going to be as the big, the small, and sometimes the very, very weird. What's our first new trailer tonight, Brian? We are going to go to the Mithrigan universe for Soulmate. Directed by Cape Dolan.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Okay. Stars. The only one I recognize is Lily Sullivan. she was the final girl and evil did rise. Okay. This movie was done and filmed and everything about a year ago was going to get a theatrical release, then got pulled. I was watching an interesting theory on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:34:38 If you watch the trailer and you read the synopsis, it has a very similar premise to a little movie, a little movie that came out this year called Obsession. Yeah. Also put up at the same company. Really? So maybe they thought Obsession is the better movie.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Let's let that one cook for a minute. Okay. That makes sense, yeah. If they were too similar, right? But what did you guys think of soul made? So made would have ate. Am I allowed to say I'm kind of looking forward to it? I kind of enjoyed the trailer.
Starting point is 00:35:17 I don't know. It's kind of like that one we saw with, fuck, what's her name in it? Megan Fox. Megan Fox, yeah. Yeah. Kind of the same story, right? What do you mean kind of like?
Starting point is 00:35:30 It's the same movie just with more action. Right. Maybe more. It's a cautionary tale is what it is. It's a cautionary tale. I'm surprised there haven't been more of these movies, like with this exact scenario. That's true.
Starting point is 00:35:40 I also saw another YouTube video how this guy had a thing. theory that he feels like studios are going away from movies that are making painting AI to look bad. Okay. Oh, just a, just in case. Oh, yeah, just in case. Too fucking late. Too late. Way too late for that.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Terminator came out dumbass long ago. We all know AI is evil. You've been telling us since we were fucking born. You can't flip the script now that it's fucking live. Oh, no, it's good. We know that you're fucking. line. That's what the robot overlords want you to say. Sure, sure. That's what
Starting point is 00:36:19 I was telling my wife when we were watching Terminator 2. I was like, man, this kind of hits different right now because we're not far from this. There's a movie, I don't know what the title is of it. I think it has Andrew Garfield in it. Okay. It's like
Starting point is 00:36:34 been pulled from release by its studio and they cannot find a home for it anywhere. I guess it's about how AI is bad. Oh, man. Oh, wow. piss off the overlords. Skynet, huh? Skynet.
Starting point is 00:36:48 You know, all of the richest people on the planet are working on AI right now, so they probably don't want to put anything out that's going to make it look bad. Yeah, that's their next cash cow, right? Yeah. That makes sense. But then they just did that movie. Was it? Good luck.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Have fun. Don't die. I love that movie. All about how bad AI is. Yeah. That one snuck through. With Jenna Ortega. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:13 She's the robot. There's so many. Why do they all want to be robots? No comment, right, Philip? Hey, and when the robots start to look like that, when those kinds of robots start to look like that. I know. The human race is done.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Well, we already know where this movie's going. Right. If you listen to the clothing options, one of them is a schoolgirl outfit. Yes, I caught that. I think that was the part where I'm like, huh, okay, I'll watch this. It looks pretty interesting. And do you think with them switching up release from theater to home release that they're going to continue with the, it's in the Megan universe? With other movies after this, you mean?
Starting point is 00:37:59 Or even with this movie, you think they're just going to. Trying to say it's not. Yeah. Oh, okay. I see what you're saying. I don't know. I don't know. I think they're building something.
Starting point is 00:38:11 I never saw the sequel to Megan. So does this connect to that? because I don't remember this. Maybe. That didn't really suck, dude. You didn't miss anything. Yeah, it wasn't good. I saw like the superhero armor and I was like, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Yeah. You chose wisely. They flipped it and made her a superhero. They Terminator to do it. Yeah, but badly. Not the right way. Megan is not Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, they forgot their Megan 2, none Megan 6.
Starting point is 00:38:38 Yes. Megan 6. What? Megan 666. Well, that's usually when you. Oh, shit. That's when they could have the heel turn. Yeah, they'd at least give it five more movies as a man, Gary.
Starting point is 00:38:51 They got to do bloodlines. They got to do bloodlines. That's right. Megan and States. Or reborn. Megan reborn. All right, as we were told by the trailer, you can watch this at home, August first. And on to our final trailer.
Starting point is 00:39:11 It is almost said Zach Krueger. thanks Steve. It is Robert Eggers, Werewolf. Starring. That'd be a different movie. Aaron, Taylor Johnson, Lily Rose Depp,
Starting point is 00:39:27 essentially the cast from Nospirot. For Nospirot, too. He figured, I got everybody here. You guys want to make another movie. Let's do it, man. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:39:37 We don't have to change the costumes. I know. We've got these costumes. Next year, it's going to be Robert Eggers, Frankenstein, I bet. Watch. Steve, you are probably one of the biggest werewolf fans, I know.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Let's start us off. What did you think of Robert Eggers? I almost said Zach Kregor again. Weirwolf. Now that we're talking about Zach Kregor, I don't want to see that movie. Oh, yeah, no doubt. I don't want to see this movie.
Starting point is 00:40:08 No? No. It's like look at the camera, slow motion across all these like people with physical problems. And then like Aaron Taylor Johnson is going to like slow motion scream with spit for a long time. I know. I just like it just I just need to see some cool werewolf shit. He's going to Robert Eggers. It seems like a lot that's like heavy.
Starting point is 00:40:33 I'm like fuck if we even get a werewolf, it's going to take like three hours to get there. Oh, there's definitely a way of a transformation, I think. I have a worry. don't think there will be. I'm worried. I'm worried that it's the Vair Wolf is just going to be a fucking mad dude that has like some kind of human rabies or something.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Mustache like Nassirat too. Or a mustache like Nassarot too. As far as it's like howls at the moon and the mustache he eats Alpo and that's about it right? He's just a hairy
Starting point is 00:41:12 guy with rabies. Yes. exactly I don't know if it's gonna be hairy that's like the wolf man yeah it's just like yeah it's like I got sick I don't know and maybe I could
Starting point is 00:41:21 I could be wrong and you know but like as far as I'm concerned like the lighthouse nose ferratu to oh for two with me
Starting point is 00:41:31 so I don't have a lot of I like the witch that was about it I like the Northman right I did like the witch I did like the witch he's got a very
Starting point is 00:41:41 slow burn specific style like if you really get engrossed in the movies they're good okay very European yeah but but yeah like you gotta really get in it
Starting point is 00:41:55 if you're not really in it then no half asses like you gotta like be ready for that yeah yeah right like Noseveratu I thought Nosephratu
Starting point is 00:42:05 was really good but uh I thought it was not good like a French like a French art art house movie yeah like I don't want to watch it again, though. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Kind of like torture a little bit. I mean, I am interested in seeing it because of the cast. Okay. We also got Willem Defoe, Ralph Innocent. Although, the who's who of Robert Eggers' actors.
Starting point is 00:42:33 I need, if I'm done with this fucking peekaboo bullshit, if you're doing a werewolf movie, show me the werewolf. Show me the werewolf. Yeah. Show me the werewolf. Don't charge me fucking $50 by the time I get there with parking and concessions
Starting point is 00:42:48 for one fucking person to... Hour walk at Disney Springs. I get the Wolfman bullshit dropped on me. No, sir. Sick man. I actually am kind of excited
Starting point is 00:43:02 for this one. I think it has a lot of potential to be good. I got goosebumps during the trailer, man. I'm excited about it. I think if... That's just what it feels like when you're falling in sleep, Phil. If there is a transformation and it's a great scene, which I would like it to be, I really like what's his name, the Aaron Taylor Johnson.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Kick ass. Me too. Kick ass. I think he can pull it off. Craven. This could be what Wolfman was supposed to. Jesus. Could be a Craven wolf, but Craven the Wolfman.
Starting point is 00:43:38 How about that? Steve, you like that one? No. But like, I thought, like, I like Benicio del Torre. Rose Wolfman movie pretty good. Did you? I hated that one, man. I thought he watched it once. That was a cool ass transformation scene in the medical room.
Starting point is 00:43:52 That's true. That was good stuff. I'll have to, I'll have to rewatch you. Anthony Hopkins is in it, right? Anthony Hopkins is in that one. Yeah, but it's just kind of like all of them. It's like the movie's kind of a slog, and there's a few really good scenes.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Yeah. They can't all be a miracle. We're Wolf in London, right? That movie is good, but that's got some fucking dips in it too, you know? You think? I don't remember a single dip in that one.
Starting point is 00:44:18 And like, as far as like werewolf designs, it's an iconic world design, but it's not up there in my favorites. Okay. Well, shit. But the transformation scene is... We ought to do a werewolf athon here, huh? The transformation scene is fantastic in there.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Yeah. But it's like, when I think of a werewolf, like, believe it or not, it's like, remember that big-ass werewolf from like the second underworld movie? The white one with the long fucking snout. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. that's what I think of what I think of
Starting point is 00:44:47 The underworld movie A big fucking monster Underworld movies were super underrated I love those things Yeah there were a lot of I saw one of them in the theater It was a lot of fun But the regular werewolves just looked like big rats
Starting point is 00:44:58 I like that Yes Rat wolf With like the fucking you know Like the long snout Like bad moon Was a very good movie But that werewolf
Starting point is 00:45:07 Look cool Yeah Steve Steve what is the most underrated Werewolf movie underrated Teen Wolf 2 That's a deep cut What now is going to say
Starting point is 00:45:21 Patrick Bateman Jason Bateman Jason Bateman That's right A boxer Instead of high school basketball You got college boxing Yeah
Starting point is 00:45:34 Right I don't know if you ever saw that Okay how about I would think late phases Is actually That's a good one Okay. Yeah, really good.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Oh, with the, Lance, I can't think his name from Steakland. Yeah, we interviewed him. How disrespectful that we can't think of his name right now, right? Don't imagine you. Not something like that, though. Yeah, your close. Those werewolf designs, not very good. They look like kind of like bunny rabbits.
Starting point is 00:46:00 But that was a cool story. Like, and the werewolves incorporated into that story were good. Yeah, it was well written, right? Mm-hmm. It was just like an interesting concept. Nick Damich. You can hear the werewolves, but you can't, like, imagine that. Like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:46:21 If there's no werewolf in this movie, it's going to suck. I like that late phases call. That's a good one. That might be mine, too, as far as underrated. Very good call. Warwolf hits theaters on Christmas Day. Perfect Christmas fan. Yes, Christmas movie.
Starting point is 00:46:40 I love it. He's going to shout out of his window at the end like Scrooge, right? Go give you by yourself the biggest goose at the market. There is the scene where, you know, Aaron Taylor's back does the thing, you know, and the lighting does look good. I can be swayed, but right now, it just, right now, it screams pretentious, and I'm just not in the mood.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Steve, you know, you're probably right. That scene is at the end. I know, you're probably right. That happens? And credits. Yeah. Just like the amazing spiking. And there's no actual wolf.
Starting point is 00:47:17 That's going to piss me off. Yeah, I better see a transformation. You see his back do that and he looks at the screen and his eyes change. Yeah. Finn. To be continued. By Robert Eggers. I can see that.
Starting point is 00:47:30 Oh, my God. Finn. Oh, you're to say that. Finn. Finn. Invisioned by Robert Eggers. Oh, my God. That's terrible.
Starting point is 00:47:43 It's making movies. It's having fun. You're making pretend and you're going to pay a lot of money to do it. We're making pretend, not pretension. I don't like stop with the like, respect my art. Yeah, I know, man.
Starting point is 00:47:58 It's a werewolf movie. I'm going to have some interdimensional werewolves. That's a good idea. On to listener feedback. This week, on the podcast spotlight on bad movie cult a biweekly show hosted by Dominic Lawton and Ken B. Wild That celebrates and roasts notoriously bad cinema.
Starting point is 00:48:24 The program covers Z movie classics, cheesy 80s action, Italian horror, and modern catastrophes, offering sharp comedic banter and behind the scenes trivia. Sounds fun. That's fun. You guys like Italian horror, Gialo films? Not really, though. Not me. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Whenever we do 31 days and bring the New York guys on, they always throw Giala movies at me. Of course. Every time, I'm just like, I don't get it. I don't like this. The black gloves and the weird cuts. Clashire movie, man. The glow of the dark blood. See, the problem is that a lot of them is like, these guys like them nostalgicly, right?
Starting point is 00:49:07 And like, for me, I've never seen a lot of these before. So it's like first viewing I have no nostalgia for it at all. So I'm just like man, it just missed the market. Like the glowing orange blood, Steve, and the black gloves that they throw down and the knife. Like there's always that one knife, right? There's always people doing weird shit and like zooms in on people's faces. And it's like, yeah. There's a lot of like nonsensical stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Agreed. Slash or movies just aren't that scary. All right. In regards to a picture of Curry Barker in the set of a new movie, Oscar Hernandez says, I don't know why, but this picture makes me think Curry Barker is a kaiju looming over a city street. You got to see the picture.
Starting point is 00:50:00 It's like the angle that they took the photo with, Brian, right? Yeah. Wouldn't you say? Yeah, it's not a new movie. He's filming the... the car scene and an obsession. Oh, okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Well, it is kind of a weird angle, the camera angle, that's for sure. It was a funny angle. It's behind you, Tyrone. All right. In regards to psycho killer, Ian Jack says, what a pile of shit. I don't think he liked it. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:50:37 that movie was not good not great they did not stick the landing uh pat caruso says love how stoic and monotone brian always sounds love how lance laughs at his own jokes and keeps it light while asking good questions
Starting point is 00:50:54 keep the romance going lance and keep losing the internet Brian Phil always talking about tis nez and Pedro rule am I always talking about titties I guess you are, man. I think we may have got Mandela again here, man. I don't remember that, but maybe.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Maybe so. Probably. Probably, Philip. Let's get real. Yeah. It's happened a time or two. Yeah. In regards to Big Baby, Renee Comel says...
Starting point is 00:51:25 Who was that from again? That was from Pat Crusoe. Nice. Thanks, Pat. Yeah. Love it. In regards to Big Baby, Renee Comel says... The poster looks great in all caps. You guys remember that movie Baby Boy?
Starting point is 00:51:48 Is it? With Tyrese? Yeah, Tyrese. He was actually playing a serious role in it. You guys remember that? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like late 90s or something like that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Oh, man. I thought that's what you're talking about. Yeah. I wasn't sure. That's the one. What's Big Baby? Trying to play serious. Oh, we'll watch that trailer next week.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Oh, okay. All right. Interesting. It's about a six-foot-tall killer baby. Like, honey, I shrunk the guy. Honey, I blew up the baby, huh? Let's go. In regards to Disclosure Day, Chris Chan said this movie sucked.
Starting point is 00:52:31 Unfortunately, there is no refund for the 145 minutes of my life loss. while watching this. And Vin Visconi said disappointment day. Wow. Brutal. I was just expecting something a little more from Disappointment day. That's really.
Starting point is 00:52:51 From what's his face? Philo. Philip, you thought it was going to reveal something real. So I had to have an alien pop out. They did, they did throw some good info in there. They have that like scene between Nixon and Jackie Gleason. which is a thing that supposedly really happened. Okay, really?
Starting point is 00:53:09 So that is covered in it. Yeah, like they go over some real information. And if anybody knows it, then Spielberg does. But it was just, it was kind of boring and just straightforward and not impressive at all. Hmm. Well. All right. That sounds like a disappointment to me.
Starting point is 00:53:30 There is some good info in there. Jackie Gleason and Nixon Yeah so Nixon They got drunk one night Nixon was like you want to see some aliens Right Jackie Gleason to see them Jackie Gleason
Starting point is 00:53:44 Got so excited about it That he built a house shape Like a UFO in New York I think So what How do they address that in the movie Did they deliver it as fact As factual or what? Yeah it was one of the
Starting point is 00:53:58 They had like a drive With all of the all of the disclosure stuff on it. And one of them was like some security footage of Nixon and Gleason going on the... Oh, wow. Okay, so... They didn't come right out and say it, but it was like that if you saw that on the screen, like, if you know, you know, right? Yeah, like, if...
Starting point is 00:54:20 If you know your UFO stuff, that story's pretty famous. Okay. So, I don't know. Let's see if it actually happened. I mean, he built... He did build a house shaped like a UFO. Right. Well, sounds like Spielberg has the footage. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:37 In regards to Evil Dead Wrath, Renee Comel says in theaters 2028, it's a long time. Oh, Lord. Is it really? That's a long way to wait, huh? Dude, I've been- That's like you, Philip. That's the one coming out. That's Evil Dead Burn.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Oh, okay, okay. I was like, what the fuck? We get another movie first, Phil. Yeah. All right, that's fair. I'm going to predict because they're filming Evil Dead Raff now. Okay. That'll move their release date up.
Starting point is 00:55:09 That'd be cool. Sounds like they're planning on doing a lot of them, Brian. Yeah, we talked about it. Sam Ramey wrote like what he called a Bible for everybody to go off of. So there'd be some continuity. That's pretty cool. Um, and in regard to Twilight Zone, the movie. John McCauley says, do you want to see something really scary?
Starting point is 00:55:35 Was that a werewolf mask that he put on or am I misremembering? I don't think he put a mask on, Lance. Oh, he didn't even really put a mask on. All right. I'm out of here. In the Twilight Zone movie? Twilight Zone movie. Dan Aykroyd in the beginning.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Dan Aykroyd. Did he put on a werewolf mask? No, I think he'd turn into a monster. Okay, but not a werewolf, huh? Another Mandela effect. Okay. In regards to the thing, Pat Caruso says probably my favorite carpenter flick. Great practical effects.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Yeah. I agree. Masterclass. I knew Brian would agree. That's an almost, that to me is like a flawless movie. Like, it goes, it flows. I have no complaints. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Michael Arnaz says classic. Yeah. Definitely is. In regards to our Halloween 3 design, Steve's Halloween 3 design, Dave Duncan says Silver Shamrock. I love that movie. Yeah, you got to play that song on the background of the... I love that movie. I do not, but I know you guys do, so I figured that would be a good shirt.
Starting point is 00:57:02 It is a good design. It worked. AJ got one. She's going to wear it to horror nights. I don't know which one I'm going to wear to horror nights. Now I have a couple of options, but that's good. Good to have options, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:16 This is the premium t-shirt that I got. It's pretty slick. It's like real thick material. It's not the soft stuff that I expected. Okay. But they have like an option for the softer ones too. That's what I like is the soft shirts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 But this one's real thick. It's going to last, man. I like it. a lot. Che public's good, man. They have a lot of options. They don't have coosies, though, damn it. So we can't run that through there.
Starting point is 00:57:41 But don't forget about our feedback contest. Starting point is 00:58:16 Like baby boy. Yeah. Say you never know. Big and deep to pull that one out of pocket. Glass did it to himself. Yeah, well, you know. I laugh at my own stuff all the time. I just want to see a real
Starting point is 00:58:35 werewolf in this fucking anchor's movie it's not just be a madman I think it's just going to be a madman guy I don't know you said it just get big he's just like bra
Starting point is 00:58:45 yeah that's gonna make me mad get ready for it dude because I can almost guarantee that's what's gonna happen yeah well you see the real thing about the werewolf
Starting point is 00:58:59 is it's about the inner beast with an old man. Shut the fuck up and give me a monster howling at the moon. It kind of looks like a bail wolf sort of thing. Had enough of that shit already. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:59:15 But if you'd like to help us out, please consider becoming a Patreon patron. We'll let you pick the movies for a future show at any amount. And for $5 a more a month, also pick a commentary for a future bonus show. Thanks, Steve. Just wanted to teach you.
Starting point is 00:59:28 I killed Lance. A beast within. You see? It's not that word. See, you just put on a basic British accent and say some nonsense and you kill it.
Starting point is 00:59:45 All right. And I'll be more animated reading the feedback, especially if it's shooting for the show stuff. I like it. There you go. Let's go. All right. On the featured attractions, it's time to watch the watchers.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Watchers 3 from 1994 When a new and dangerous outsider chases an intelligent golden retriever into the South American jungles Terror grips a team of ex-military convicts sent to capture the creature Director is Jeremy Stanford also known for Trantasia Do you really not want to You have no idea what that is, do you? No. Look it up.
Starting point is 01:00:36 No, don't look it up on a private browser. I'll just put it to you this way. It's about an abnormal beauty page. Yeah, okay. Okay. Read it in it. Transia. Jeremy Stanford.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Writer is Michael Palmer also known for... It's not about transmissions. Michael Palmer also knows. known for Carnosaur 2. Oh, geez, that classic. They made two carnosaurs. I remember the covers for those in the movie. Really?
Starting point is 01:01:11 I've never heard of my life. I've seen the first one. We should do a commentary on it. All right, Brian just called it. Like the Carnot has like a weird, the T-Rex that looks like your old toys that sit up, you know? Yes. Yeah, like the toy T-Rex.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Look, and I'm convinced dinosaurs or birds after watching my chicken run across the yard, man. She's like a little... They are, dude. They're related. Yeah. They don't know they look like lizards and stuff like that, dude. They're trying to go off. Feathers and everything.
Starting point is 01:01:43 No, half of those things probably don't even go together. They don't know what the fuck they're doing. There was a couple of them that they did that with at the beginning. There's a lot of shit we think we know. Remember land before time? Yeah. That's how land before time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Like sick fucking... Land before time. That's right. Like, if that thing trips, it's over with. Like, what do you mean? No wonder they win, extinct. I bet Raptors could, like, jump and fly a little bit. I would hope so. Like chickens?
Starting point is 01:02:14 Fucking dragons, Phil. I'm guessing. I'm telling you. Winghouser's character, Ferguson, was previously played by Mark Singer and Watchers 2. Is it the same character? The same. Are you kidding? I didn't realize that.
Starting point is 01:02:29 He's, you heard it here? folks. I guess it makes sense. It does kind of now, now that you say it. Because we question was he going to even go to jail after the second one? Now you know. Right, he went to jail.
Starting point is 01:02:45 He turned into Wingshouser. Prison life was not good for him. You guys over watch. It looked like he got off the fucking nose candy. You guys watch Yellowstone or any of the movies or shows in that universe. Mark Singer and Wingshouser in that show Yeah well Wingshouser is the real life father of the guy who plays RIP
Starting point is 01:03:07 Really? Yeah Coalhouser Yeah Oh okay that makes sense You see the similarity now that you know Yeah Interesting
Starting point is 01:03:16 They're just That whole family is just named after stuff Like Wings Cole He's brother fucking branch Yeah that's right This is fork Hauser and Singer
Starting point is 01:03:33 co-starred and Beastmaster 2 playing Half Brothers and Arch Enemy's Beastmaster 2. Man All right. These movies are ripe, Brian, for you and Ness to do commentaries. Everything we've talked about tonight. Steve, would you think about Watchers 3?
Starting point is 01:03:54 Well, I'm trying to digest the fact that this is the same character from this type of movie that actually helps a lot of things. Yeah, good to know, right? They make a little bit more sense. I'm like, how the fuck does he know this dog?
Starting point is 01:04:07 Like, oh, yeah. Well, because of the whole last movie. I don't know. This is, this movie, I think, probably has the worst monster design in all the movies. And yet, I felt like the movie was,
Starting point is 01:04:21 they were at least trying to do something. Seemed that way, right? It kept, there was, like, a new twist, like this thing happened, and, like, there was all these connections. connections being made. And then like his buddy, the black guy had like one of the most memorable death scenes ever.
Starting point is 01:04:38 That guy was acting in a different movie. It was crazy. But it was essentially like both predator and the predators. Right. Or predators like with that one little pansy soldier that got out there. the monsters suck you know the suits are just like
Starting point is 01:05:02 slapping their forearms of people it is what it is but I thought this was better than part two it felt like they were using the same premise but they were at least trying
Starting point is 01:05:13 to do something different and it all kind of made sense like I wasn't lost I was always just like oh that's interesting oh nice change it's not a good movie but it's certainly not the worst
Starting point is 01:05:25 in the series so far that's fair Brian what you think I don't know what to say now this finding out that this is the same character from the second one changes everything huh I mean
Starting point is 01:05:40 I don't see Wingshouser as Cole or as Mark Singer but I mean I guess so why not so are they trying to say that this is the outsider from the last movie too like I thought that thing was dead
Starting point is 01:05:55 or is there just more there must be more of them right See, that's why I don't get it. If this is a continuation for the second one, it also felt like they were redoing the first two movies all over again. Yeah, because they had the same basic storyline. That's what I thought. I'm like, oh, it's just like they do the same story.
Starting point is 01:06:12 It doesn't matter what no one is. It's the same story, the dog and the monster and the guy, you know. They just stuck them in the jungle and ripped off predator. Kind of like evil, kind of like Evil Dead and Evil Dead too, right? Like basically the same exact story. Yeah, it's like, change them. changing around. The one thing I didn't like is I feel like they tried to take this movie a little bit more serious than it should be.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Okay. Because everybody is, everybody's acting in a completely different movie. Yeah. They handed it up, didn't they? There's so much angry acting, and then there's like people that are like breaking down. Like, I'm going to go, man. Like, that is not an intimidating monster. It can't even move fast, and it's afraid of light.
Starting point is 01:06:55 God. It's a big old alligator. And those just scenes I don't understand you're in the middle of the jungle. Fully geared up. Yes, literally. Hunting down a monster that's hunting you. And you got one guy, his whole, his sole purposes to try to break the one female in the, in the entire movie. He picks his goal and stays on track.
Starting point is 01:07:23 Yeah. Have we not killed that guy off already? Right. right? But it's not a completely big piece of shit. Like I said, I just expected by the third movie, we get a little bit
Starting point is 01:07:37 more wacky and zany. I kind of miss Mark Singer's cocaine eyes than this one. It's also keeping the longstanding tradition in all Watchers movies. And they carried this over into the werewolves movie too. If you're a main character
Starting point is 01:07:55 in a film and a monster with claws is attacking you, they like to punch it, slap you, rather than get you with the claws like they do everybody else immediately. Rather than rip your head off. If they're getting to you, they're just fucking bitch slap you. What a rule. People were getting bitch. Dude, when the monster got put on those,
Starting point is 01:08:13 sorry, I'm going into spoilers. Right, no, we're kids all spoilers, man. Like, when the monster got put onto those spites and like, the guy came and checked on them, and he turned around, the monster sat up and slapped that motherfucker. in the rubber suit. He's fucking spicy even after he gets fucking the monster design was like so ridiculous
Starting point is 01:08:36 that it was kind of fun. Why he just got slap happy at the end slapping everybody. I can see what you're saying, Philip. It's like it's so bad it's good, right? Such a terrible costume. It's almost kind of fun to watch it. Yeah, I think so.
Starting point is 01:08:55 I mean, because it was, the old one with the gorilla suit with the space fan helmet on it. That's what I'm saying. The way they're acting in this movie tells you the movie is different from what you're seeing in that costume. Yes. Makes sense, yeah. It's like they're being all super serious about it in this guy and like a very obvious rubber suit just comes waddling out of the woods. Oh, I mean, this would have been. Bit slapping everybody.
Starting point is 01:09:22 This would have been like, you know, Predator was huge when it was. came out, but it found that second life on video and became like a massive hit. They're just emulating it. It feels like they literally went to the same place. Yeah. They filmed that? I know. I thought the same thing when I was watching it, dude.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Like, this is Predator 2.0 type of. And then the actors got out there and they were like, I can feel the presence of Jesse Ventura. Right. Oh. What'd you think, Lance? I didn't hate it. It was kind of enjoyable. I didn't, you know.
Starting point is 01:09:55 see the second movie. I conveniently missed that week. Sorry, guys. But I kind of like the way it picked up. I thought they were just given this dude kind of the snake Pliskin treatment, right? Like, we know that you're great at all this shit. You've done all these wonderful things before.
Starting point is 01:10:11 So you're going to come out and save us all. And then at the end, we're going to fuck you. And we're going to leave you there. Oh, my God, that Rube Goldberg bomb they set up, right? And it's like, is it the blue one or the red one? And the dog told him, right? that it was the blue one. I'm like, why are you waiting
Starting point is 01:10:28 till the one second? Just cut it. You're there. I know. Like a Batman. Like a Batman episode, right? Wait until it's at one second. They had a whole scene where the dog was just writing a thing in the sand with a stick. Oh, they did. The fuck is this.
Starting point is 01:10:44 And why are all the people so stupid that they have to wait until the dog is completely finished riding before they're like, what does that say, oh, danger. Like, wow, Lassie had a way better way of doing that. He's been riding danger for 15 minutes.
Starting point is 01:11:03 You should have picked it up by now. God, damn. Oh, hey, yeah. And the dog's always like, the monster's close. I'm like, then shut up. You're barking dumb loud. I know. He's going to find us.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Definitely a dog. It was kind of fun, right? Kind of like a fun little adventure movie. Like a, like a rip-off, right? a rip-off of all kinds of different action movies, but mainly Predator. Like, almost really thought I was watching like a carbon copy of it. So I didn't take it from all those and adding a dog. Indian action movie version of a Predator rip-off or something, you know?
Starting point is 01:11:39 Sure, sure. Yeah, this feels like an asylum movie. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Predator. Asylum versus. Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:49 It's just like the first time he's. It's called Predatory, right? They did it a predator one. It's called like Predator. Instead of Badlands, it was like Predator Highlands or some shit. Like, they did a fucking, they did one. A Scottish, a Scottish predator. Yeah, it was like a fucking alien in a kilt.
Starting point is 01:12:07 That's pretty good, man. I like that alien in the kilts. The bagpipes playing and shit. No, but when they like introduced this guy at the beginning, and they were like, you've done all this stuff. stuff. You're this big, badass guy. And then he stood up. I was just like, he just looks like anybody's dad.
Starting point is 01:12:29 That's what I was thinking. When they said all that, I was like, Wingshouser. Like, he has a dad haircut. He's got a dad pod. He just, he's in sweats when you first meet him and then immediately gets put into fucking coveralls, you know? Like, they're not showing off that physique at all.
Starting point is 01:12:47 Right, right? Blowing my mind by saying this was Mark Singer. I know, yeah. He goes, you can't get over that, can you? That's what prison food does to you. Oh, Jesus. All carbs, huh? Williams, Hauser.
Starting point is 01:13:04 It was, it was okay. You know, the monster gets kapood. Mm-hmm. They live another day. Yeah. They killed a big old out again. I did like how they killed off most of the team. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Right. Because I thought the one lady was going to stick around and they killed her off real quick. They didn't know that the aliens, that alien or that alien, that the monster could climb a tree. Right. Well, on account of the big rubber suit. But you would think like you're in the tree looking for the monster. And then like at no point where you're like, the fuck was that
Starting point is 01:13:52 like the tree moved what was that the tree like I'm a special forces soldier my instincts are keen I know I'm well aware of my surroundings ah shit
Starting point is 01:14:04 huge six foot monster just crept up on me up a tree I like the the head rip right just took that sucker off there was some good fun
Starting point is 01:14:16 practical low budget practical effect stuff for sure yeah except whenever they tried to show the monster roaring and it was like a bobblehead, it was like that monster design was so bad.
Starting point is 01:14:30 Rough stuff, huh? Yeah, but I kind of made it more fun. It was just silly. It kind of did. I like how everybody just keeps shooting on it, never hitting it. Yeah. So much wasted ammunition.
Starting point is 01:14:44 What are they, the death star or what, man? I mean, can't even shoot the target, right? It's Hollywood. Don't go to Hollywood to learn how to shoot guns. Right. Unless you're going to the same place that John Wick went. I don't know. Like, I was surprised.
Starting point is 01:14:58 I saw the synopsis for this, the poster, the cover for this, and I was like, oh, this is going to be terrible. Really bad, yeah. Maybe I went in with a lower expectation, so it came out better than I thought, but... That happens sometimes. This, to me, is better than part two. It doesn't hold a candle to part one. But better than two. part one was legitimately pretty good
Starting point is 01:15:21 oh yeah I stand by my eight that Brian up to by a point five wait till we get to part four with Luke Skywalker in it all right well what's your score on this one
Starting point is 01:15:33 Steve uh we'll go with a we'll go with a four on this one respectful four all right respectful fair enough
Starting point is 01:15:44 Brian I am a little disappointed because I saw wings How's her in the cast? And I thought we were, because if you guys seen any of his movies, especially like his later movies, they're like on the So Bad It's Good level. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:59 Didn't quite get that with this one because I felt like they were trying to actually make a serious movie. Every actor had a different acting coach. They definitely thought it was a serious movie. Well, that's the requirement for So Bad It's Good. True. With the new information that this is the same character from the same. second one and they try to keep some kind of continuity, I have to go 4.25.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Damn. Interesting. Four and a quarter. Every time. Lance. Yeah, it's four. It's four. Four on ten. Four and ten. Yeah, I think four is a pretty
Starting point is 01:16:37 fair score for this movie. It's not all bad. It's not all bad. Totem pole. Yeah. Four and a quarter. All right. Four and a quarter. All right. On to Watchers Reborn
Starting point is 01:16:51 from 1998. Good old 90s action. With an extra smart dog and a detective team up to stop a DNA enhanced killer. All right. Okay. Director is John Carl Buechler,
Starting point is 01:17:07 also known for Wizard Dream and Grandpa's Place. He also did. Goalie's Thurley's Thurlis Goolies go to college. No shit. Oh, okay. That's a better one.
Starting point is 01:17:21 That would be a better one. The grandpa's place, right? Grandpas place. The movie sounds wrong. I know. It sounds great. You want to go to Grandpa's place? No.
Starting point is 01:17:32 Not anymore. Who's Grandpa? Who are you? Why'd you say it like that? A writer is Sean Dash, also known for Antarctica of Frozen History. Oh.
Starting point is 01:17:45 So he does. He does documentary about fucking nothing. It sounds like it. It's frozen, man, that's it. Can't go there. Here, from five miles away, you can see ice. It's because of that ice wall. Einstein is the name given to the dog in the original novel.
Starting point is 01:18:08 And the first movie of the series, the dog is only referred to as fur face, which is a terrible nickname. That was the only part that I hate. about the movie. From the book. Yeah. From the book.
Starting point is 01:18:21 Well, Einstein is from the book, right? Did they call him Furface? He does before he learns his name. He calls him Furface. All right. Fair enough. But once he learns his name, he stops. And in the movie, we never get to that point.
Starting point is 01:18:33 Yeah. We have to hear Corey Haim screaming Furface. Like he's emoting and it's weird. It's just a dumb name. Overacting. Yeah. All right. Steve, what do you think about Watchers Reborn with Luke Skywalker?
Starting point is 01:18:47 it's like a fucking roller coaster with this series up and down up and down uh wow that's got mark camel in it how bad he did not do very good he did not do very good was that a joke comment the uh one of the worst actors probably ever yeah well is he is he slow down he just is Luke Skywalker he when he was crying over his like 95-year-old dead partner. I was like, what are you doing? What movie is it? You just punched an FBI guy.
Starting point is 01:19:24 What the fuck are you doing? Oh, he did punch the FBI guy. And then the FBI guy was like, huh, and he beat that shit out of Mark Hamel in that kitchen. Oh, when he curled up in a little ball on the floor. He was like, he was like, who he was getting kicked out. I was like, God damn. This is our hero.
Starting point is 01:19:42 He's got like PTSD. Then we get the dog, the dog's here. The monster from stills, from pictures that I saw. I was like, ooh, we might get a cooler monster. A decent monster? No, it's not. It's just a guy in a fur suit for most of them. At least in the first one, the fur suit looked like it had weird anatomy, so like it didn't look natural.
Starting point is 01:20:05 This looks like a motherfucker in a fur suit. And they didn't give you a good view of it in the first one, which helped it a lot. And then in this movie, you get like five minutes of him fucking surfing on top of a car. Yeah. And then like, but I do think they did do something different at the end. Yeah. I didn't expect that was different from all the other movies.
Starting point is 01:20:28 And I thought that was a nice touch. So there's your positive. Yeah. It doesn't make up for the rest of the movie. Were they, uh, where she tried to like be nice to the monster, you mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:40 Yeah. Yeah. Well, like in the monster talks. Yeah. Or end. But there was like a scene too Where like the monster after he got tase was like curled up Yeah
Starting point is 01:20:53 And I don't know like for some reason like that shot The suit looked all right and that light And that angle when he was crouched down like There are just like werewolves out of context Decent shots But when they view it as a whole It's a very poor execution Mark Hamel brought nothing to the screen
Starting point is 01:21:11 Him and this lady had negative chemistry Yeah You mean you didn't buy it when she all of a sudden wanted to bang him? Yeah, he's like, I didn't, I wasn't trying to. She's like, there's only one bed. I'm like, he lives by himself. What the fuck? He's supposed to have multiple beds.
Starting point is 01:21:29 He said he would take the couch. You're pushing. Right, right. You're being real pushy. No kidding, man. And the dog was like, stay away, homie. She's crazy. He was telling her no, two barks.
Starting point is 01:21:40 The second she walked in the door. He knew she was moving red flags, red flags. Well, he asked her, Or like, can I trust her? And he barked once for, yeah. Well, at the end. But then he has, should I fuck or he barked twice, right? He just kept barking.
Starting point is 01:21:58 She'll never leave. And they kick him out. There's a monster hunting them. They are on the run from NSA and monster. Right. And I'm like, you know what? Get out of here, dog. Three is a crowd.
Starting point is 01:22:13 I'm like, bro. Just wild. you better let that dog back in a motherfucker It might be kind of cool to have a pet monster though I did kind of like the ending thing That was interesting
Starting point is 01:22:24 Seems like they could have figured that out sooner though Yeah but they have like this FBI guy He's like the worst He's just like He's like I'm gonna get him no matter what Like he takes in no outside influence He's like
Starting point is 01:22:40 He's like Mr. McRapie in the last movie Like he found his target And does not be your wish Mr. McRaby. They should have brought the SCP in there, huh, to deal with this one. These monsters look about like as weird as some of those, don't they? This one kind of looked like a mishmash of like a almost like a little werewolf. It had like a K9, any werewolf, yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:05 Now, and I definitely have a ranking for this series, and this is not at the top. Not at the top, not at the bottom though, right? None at the bottom. I still think two is the worst. But this was not very good. And Mark Hamill really didn't bring much to it. And besides the ending, and you really could. If you've watched the other movies, you could just watch the ending and be like, oh, that's different.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Because the rest of the movie, it's the same fucking thing. Yeah. Brian, what do you think? This is the worst movie. By far, give me cocaine eyes again. something because i'm not buying luke as cocaine eyes detective and he had zero chemistry with friend of the show lisa wilcox right right and are we just he's whining it was right yeah it was rough are we just remaking the movie all over again yeah it feels like we're just getting
Starting point is 01:24:10 we're getting reintroduced to einstein and the monster in the laboratory again Every movie. At least this one, it's back to Bannadine again. Well, at least, like you said, Steve, three tried to have a little bit of follow-through, you know. I was waiting for the reveal that the FBI guy was Michael Ironside from the first movie. Yes. I thought he was going to say there was a third project, and it was me. If he said that, then I would have rioted.
Starting point is 01:24:42 Like, you don't get to, you don't get to conjure. that greatness of that first movie. And the crazy thing is that first movie wasn't even really, it's just, these all sucks so much. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I know. And it elevates that first one even so much. And it's not high, is it?
Starting point is 01:24:57 And it's just like we're getting scenes all over again. Instead of taking a pencil and typing things out on a computer, we're dipping our pollen gravy and wiping it on a... Was that gravy? Was that gravy? He was tipping it. Jesus, Christ. There's got to be a better way to do this.
Starting point is 01:25:18 Any dog I know would have been laughing up the gravy, not painting with it, finger painting with it. You've got to be forgetting the finale fight in part two, where like Mark Singer threw himself over a ledge for dramatic effect. Like, come on. That can't have been doing this. It's still worse, huh, Brian? It is, because he hung there with his bad arm on that one pipe.
Starting point is 01:25:45 he kept falling asleep during the fights and not dying i don't understand yeah this is i don't like to use this word a lot but this movie's a piece of shit ouch oh that'll do it yeesh that'll do it lance it's it's it's not good this is this is really rough man i mean there's so much in it that i don't even i don't remember
Starting point is 01:26:13 too much of the plot Really? I mean... Because you watch the same movie four times in a row. That's a sad thing. It's the same kind of story. I mean, like in one of me writes danger in the sand and then the other one he writes something in gravy. I mean, really? Yeah. And then that same schick, right?
Starting point is 01:26:34 Well, there was one where he typed on, I remember so saw when he typed on a keyboard, right? That was better. That was the first one. Yeah. And you can see the person's hand pushing his head. down. Could you really? Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:49 Yeah. I just know this was pretty, yeah, pretty bad acting. But you know what? Mark Hamill's never been like a great thespian, right?
Starting point is 01:26:58 I don't know how he got that part. He's amazing as a Joker. He's good in supporting roles. Oh, he makes it really good. He was fucking good in the long walk. He was good in... Oh, yeah, he was.
Starting point is 01:27:10 You're right. He's good in the Kingsman movies. Well, he wasn't good in this. I heard he was good in what was that movie you watch, Lance? The Life of Chuck? I didn't care for it, but I mean, I like the book a lot better. How was he in?
Starting point is 01:27:27 I don't remember, remember him that well. I just remember Loki. The fall of the House of Usher. Yeah? Yes. Very true. James and Bob strike back. He didn't get big yet.
Starting point is 01:27:38 Hey. Like, he didn't put on the weight yet. Yeah. You know what? I stand corrected. I stand corrected. but in this one he's not very good. But he just,
Starting point is 01:27:47 Mark Hamill is good at playing himself and then everything else he's like, or the Joker. Or the Joker. I agree. He's too much. He was good in that one movie, that anthology body bags,
Starting point is 01:27:59 where he played the baseball player that gets the eye transplant. You know what it is? He needs to have over-the-top characters, bombastic characters. He's trying to play a, kind of like the guy that plays art the clown. Depressed detective who lost his,
Starting point is 01:28:15 family and a fire and like he's being told to go to these dark places but like really all he wants to do is like make traps for batman like he needs to be like overacting not so dude and he tries but it doesn't work because he has moments where he's like talking to the dog and then the door someone knocks at the door and the dog barks and he's like shut out get the fuck out of here I was like you were just being nice to the dog a second ago And that man Just every time you see him running with a gun You realize that's not a cop
Starting point is 01:28:50 It's just a dude Running with a gun Definitely It's not how you do it It's not how you do it Yeah And so I mean the ending Go ahead
Starting point is 01:29:04 Was it Phil was it your turn Oh yeah that's I've been kind of talking about it jumping in on you guys, but yeah, not, not great. Mark Campbell's not my favorite actor. I mean, he's Luke, so he's always got that. But yeah. But yeah, this is, this is, this is not his best work.
Starting point is 01:29:23 I'm trying to remember if there was any memorable kills in this one. Because there was in part one. I don't think so. I don't think so. There even was in part three. But I'm trying to remember like, there's a bit slap in part three, right? Yeah, it was a cameo from Kane Hodge. I did as the pet store guy.
Starting point is 01:29:43 So if he's a cameo as Kane Hodder, is he in the suit? No way. That guy is too. The suit, he was skinny. I'm saying you don't hire King Hodder who at the time was, I don't even know if he was Jason yet, but. Right. He's working as a stunt man.
Starting point is 01:30:02 You just have him cameo as a cashier at a store. Far-fetched. Whenever I see him pop up anything I always think it's like a just an in joke like hey horror fans yeah me too he's the yeah right like the bloody valentine remake and all that
Starting point is 01:30:20 and it's always fun seeing him like be the victim you know right at least in this one like here was one of the problems we're talking about in part three was the fucking we've talked about it lame before time you know the noise of the T-Rex makes that's the sound
Starting point is 01:30:38 that that monster was making in part three. It sounded like a fucking old, what they used to think dinosaurs sounded like. Yeah. And they had that weird pink predator vision. Don't like that at all. Yeah, that was bad.
Starting point is 01:30:52 At least in this one, we get back to just POV shots, some growling guttural sounds. Yeah. I much prefer that and then the dinosaur roars. Not as gimmicky, but it's also not as good. I just don't remember anybody.
Starting point is 01:31:07 I mean, there was people got their eyes poked out he does that a lot right well that's because yeah anything else because he's so ugly yeah it just had a cameo they didn't use him for anything
Starting point is 01:31:23 but the big change in this one and it's been in the book is that like the whole reason that the monster hates the dogs because when they were growing up together everybody showered the dog with attention and never fucking gave the monster anything with pain. But in this movie, like,
Starting point is 01:31:41 to doctor ladies, like, all right, like, I'll, I'll hold you. Like, we'll fucking, let's do it. And he's like, huh? Okay. And like, they like bond. And then like, he just wanted some bets, man. Yeah. And then he bitch slapped her, right? No, he didn't, he didn't miss lapped her. That's what I did. But he did it before. He did it before by the car. But now they're friends. They're hanging out. She's talking to him. He's got shit to say. What the fuck?
Starting point is 01:32:10 You're going in a new direction. You're not selling me on this, Steve. You're not making the movie any better by explaining all this. Luke Skywalker shows up with his dog. I don't know how. They're just there. And like, I don't remember. Does Luke Skywalker pull the gun?
Starting point is 01:32:26 No, I think a FBI comes in. The lady's like, no. No, because she has to explain to him that like, no. It's a friend. And then, yeah, so when the monster goes, br. Br. friend.
Starting point is 01:32:37 He just wants some belly robes, man. He's a good guy. He was like, what the fuck? Like, he had a really good golden retriever face with one eyebrow. In that moment, they turned to Einstein into the villain. Oh, yeah. Just jumps up and rips fucking more camels throat out. That would have been a twist.
Starting point is 01:32:58 What do you mean, friend? He's been the bad guy the whole time. throws hot gravy on him. But no, they don't even have a chance. to even know what that means because fucking dickhead FBI guys shows up all trigger happy and monster steps
Starting point is 01:33:14 in front of the bullets catches every single one saving the people but then getting killed did they did Mark Hamel go punch him again? Is that how were did he just run out of bullets and then walk away? I can't remember there's so much of this movie
Starting point is 01:33:31 movie when he probably just walked away. He's like Oh, shit. You just leaves. Oh, well. Steve paid a lot more attention to it than I did, that's for sure. Yeah, I had a hard time paying attention to this one. Like, all right, I got to put my phone down.
Starting point is 01:33:48 I'm not watching the movie. All right. We ready? Yeah. Scores, Steve, what do you think? Two. To Brian. I want to give it lower, but I got to stay on brand 2.25.
Starting point is 01:34:04 Holy G. Lance One One Ouch But I remember Brian You rated part two A 1.5 or something
Starting point is 01:34:16 So Oh Might do 2.75 My scores make about as much sense As this movie series There you go Just about as much sense As our ratings
Starting point is 01:34:27 On the geeks Yeah That's just however I feel In the moment Yeah I'm like It was a hero then Now it sucks I don't know
Starting point is 01:34:33 Yeah That happens my mind? That has definitely happened. Nosferatu, man. I think I gave that one a great score. You probably gave it a nine. I think you gave it the highest score. We all gave it three and you gave it a nine probably. I just have no desire to watch that movie again.
Starting point is 01:34:47 Like I have no desire to watch this movie again, I'm going to give it a one. It's just about Nausferatu trying to fuck this girl through the whole movie. And it's long. That's the problem. And then when he walks her. Is long Steve or what?
Starting point is 01:35:01 And when he fucks her, he dies. Like, you can watch her. watch Watch Watchers 3 and 4. Well, daring Natspharazzi. That's true. I'm sure I'm sure he's trying to say something with artsy with that, right? When as soon as he fucks her, he dies, right?
Starting point is 01:35:17 Kind of like life guys, right? I don't want that. Get it. Get it out of here. Get it. Get message. I don't need your subliminal messages and air. Yeah. Right. Let me some monsters. Tell me something cool. I'll just go watch these monster or fucking Godzilla movies.
Starting point is 01:35:33 All right. So we're So we're down with this one, guys? Yeah, I'm going to give it a one. Oh, did everybody give it one? Yes. Yeah, that was. So, the series ranking for me goes one, three, four, two. Okay.
Starting point is 01:35:51 Yeah. One is one, two, three, four. I didn't see two. I didn't see two, but I'll say one, three, four, and then two has to have been better than four. Again, Brian's putting two on a pedestal. He really likes Mark Singers. He's dying on that hill, man. He is dying on that hill and those cocaine eyes, man.
Starting point is 01:36:13 I just love that he gets suited out, chops the fingers off the gloves, and then goes into the sewer and immediately gets his ass kicked. Did he be it up with the Ninja Turtles? Brian made a really good point. I was like, he chops them all off of one swipe, and he's like, and the thumb. Like, how do you? how do you they skip the
Starting point is 01:36:38 part he'd already cut the thumb so now you've spent like 45 seconds on this glove and it that's it it's not like the glove comes into play later he just wanted to wear a glove
Starting point is 01:36:49 I guess you don't wear gloves like that and then go get your ass kick you it was a yellow leather farming glove he stared at it like he put on on Thanos's gauntlet The camera even zoomed in.
Starting point is 01:37:04 The camera like came in on it and he's like If it does not fit, you must have quit. All right. He's getting that lighter hand ready. Steve, do you have the next series picked out already? I do not because you guys have done a lot, so I have to ask about some of them to figure out what we have.
Starting point is 01:37:26 We don't know. We don't know at all we've done. I know. We're not going to have the answer. Some of it Mandela affected away, too. I have half of mine just to do a Stephen King retrospective. We'll be doing that for years. Yeah, we could do a Stephen King series, right?
Starting point is 01:37:39 Well, we did Children of the Corn, right? So what else would make sense? I don't know. There's done all of them. There's so many Stevie movies. That's not I'm saying. Langalears. The Tommy Knockler.
Starting point is 01:37:53 Langalears. Rose Red. Stephen King's the Shying. All the hits. Sure. I remember Tommy Knockers. I forgot about that one. That was just an idea.
Starting point is 01:38:03 Probably not going to do that. But I will come up with something soon. All right. Okay, cool. So we got to wait. All right. All right. Well, Steve, what do you have working on in the movies, man?
Starting point is 01:38:15 And with your other podcast. Oh, the Geeks is going good. We're doing a lot of bracket things right now. These brackets on the show. Yeah. Yesterday on Star Geeks, we had like best. Star Wars character. It was really weird. Oh, nice. How Jar Jar ended up?
Starting point is 01:38:34 He wasn't on the list, but like they didn't rank them right. Like in round one, you had like fucking Luke and Vader. I'm like, come on. Round one? Yeah. Come on. We can't do that. Well, you know, you know, according to
Starting point is 01:38:47 our show, he's the best horror villain. Yes, he is. He ended up winning. Stand by it. At the end of the day. But the bracket I'm setting up right now is best live action werewolf. So I've gotten from all these movies to figure out which one looks the coolest.
Starting point is 01:39:03 You don't wait for the Eggers movie, man. Right now I just have a shirtless picture of Aaron Taylor Johnson. That's the werewolf. Yeah. Without any weird. It's the Craven the Hunter poster. I mean, there's so many things
Starting point is 01:39:19 that implicate that there's a transformation scene in the trailer. You think? Okay. I don't think you're going to put it out until the movie comes out. We're going to find out. There's got to be a wolf.
Starting point is 01:39:28 I hope there's a wolf. They did the same thing in Wolfman. Yeah. Yeah. That did not look like a werewolf. That's what I'm saying. I think this is what Wolfman is supposed to be. You could be.
Starting point is 01:39:45 What was the one that just came out the Spielberg movie? Oh, yeah. Presentation day or what was it called? Disappointment day. Phillips about to be disappointed, I think. Yeah, probably. I was trying to share a picture that I had of. Oh, here it is.
Starting point is 01:40:04 So in the movie thing, we did, we actually did the monster build. So we do everything with practical effects, except we are using a little bit of digital trickery with green screens for the monster, just so that we can have him between trees and stuff. Does he bitch slap anyone? No. Okay. He does not bitch slap anyone.
Starting point is 01:40:28 But this is the suit that we made. Oh, that's cool. Pretty cool. Oh, my God. It looks really not awesome in like full light, but the whole point is he's a silhouette. So it's basically like a black body suit that we filled in with padding where muscles should be. We added fur in certain spots. The fingers are literally tinfoil painted black done to points.
Starting point is 01:40:56 the mask is like a $15 mask we got on on Amazon I wired up the LED lights behind some translucent plastic behind the light eyes the battery pack sits behind him we actually made the horns and pushed them through the mask and all that and yeah
Starting point is 01:41:13 it came out really cool like I saw multiple versions of the shot of the creature standing up between the trees and whatever one he picks is going to be awesome it looks what's weird about it is like it just looks it looks just off because it's like nine feet tall in the movie so like when the actors it's like it's like what the fuck is that and so you so you let them see just what they need to see right like don't show all the close-ups in full
Starting point is 01:41:46 light no no we made these giant hands for a close-ups on the hands we made these huge hands that's cool we didn't slap anybody with them paper machine on the hands or what'd you all do? Actually, we got these ones. They're like, they're like hands. They're like these gloves that you strap on and they make your fingers longer like claws.
Starting point is 01:42:05 Right. But don't cut off the fingertips and the thumb together, right? Yeah, yeah. Well, they're plastic. They're plastic and they're like with knuckles and all that. So we just use liquid. Oh, okay. And we built them out a little bit more.
Starting point is 01:42:17 Maybe you guys should do watches five. That better costume design than that. It looks really good. In the dark, as a silhouette. Well, that's how it works. That was our goal. Yeah, that's why they call it movie magic, right? Movie magic.
Starting point is 01:42:35 Oh, I know. Like, so many tricks, like, I had to make, I had to do a lot of the practical effects. I showed you guys the branch, but, like, I also had to make the intestines. Like, I don't know how to make intestines. Intestines. Yeah, to wrap around the branch and guts like you would. So, like, you can't just go get them from the store. That's not good.
Starting point is 01:42:55 That would stink. So like, yeah, I literally. People have done that before, though, I think. That was rude. That's rude to the actors. But so I actually took like a gray shirt, cut it up into these strips, tied it in a bunch of knots and like bigger knots and small knots. And I wrapped all that and like plastic wrap like cellophane like really long.
Starting point is 01:43:18 Oh, nice. It ended up being like 10 or 12 feet long. And then I just put tape in random spots to bunch it up. And then more plastic. plastic wrap, again, wrap that and fucking painted that over with liquid latex and red and their your intestines, shiny from the plastic wrap, dark on the inside like it would be. It came out looking really cool. That's a great idea.
Starting point is 01:43:42 I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. We'll try this. Yeah. Well, because it looks good on film, right? It's all that matters. Yeah. So, and the film editing is getting down to it. So we are on track for our October release date.
Starting point is 01:43:57 Nice. Just in time for Halloween. And I just got added as a judge for the film festival. And I just got access to like, it's called Film Freeway where all the films get submitted. And I have 23 short horror films I need to watch the same weather. Oh. Well, I approve of them or not. At least of short, right?
Starting point is 01:44:19 I've been warned about the three that some of the same guy sent from Italy. they were like, don't let those go through. I don't think so. I just don't think they're what the film festival wants. Get a little spicy. But we'll see. There's a lot of fun things going on with that stuff. Nice.
Starting point is 01:44:39 All right. Well, thanks for coming by, dude. Thanks for giving us the watchers, man. So until the horror returns again, I'm jumping ahead a little bit. All right. Starting point is 01:45:19 And what's this other movie? I'm hearing a lot of good things Yeah Can't be bad right Most violent scene In the franchise In the movie And they said
Starting point is 01:45:31 You'll know it when you see it Oh wow Okay I've already seen some messed that shit in the trailers I've seen some mess of shit The other evil dead movies Okay All right
Starting point is 01:45:44 And then we're gonna watch What the fuck is this Within the Woods It is The short film Sam Ramey made for investor, that investors eventually gave him funding to make the evil dead. Okay. It is on YouTube. That makes sense then, okay?
Starting point is 01:46:05 That's cool. I'll definitely watch that. All right, Brian, until the horror returns again. Good night.
