Troopers, I just received new orders.
Our superiors say the war is cancelled.
We cannot go home.
Bison is getting paid off for his crimes,
and our friends who have died here
will have died for nothing.
But we can all go home.
Meanwhile, ideals like peace, freedom,
And justice.
They get packed up.
But...
We cannot go home.
Well, I'm not going home.
I'm gonna get on my boat,
and I'm going up river,
and I'm going to kick that son of a bitch bison's ass so hard
that the next bison want to be is gonna feel it.
No, who wants to go home,
and who wants to go home?
going next. Everybody, welcome
back to another episode of
THR Present Stream Fiends. I'm your host, Brian,
and of course, always with me.
My brother, Nez. What's up, man?
I'm good, man. Just
starting to get hot.
Today was a hot one.
Not as hot is it
in other places in the world
before you guys all start yelling at me, but
it was hot to me, man,
because I'm like,
I just feel like drained.
How's it up there?
Weather's been kind of up and down.
It's been raining.
Then part of the day it'll be like sunny and nice.
And then I'll start raining again.
So can't complain.
There ain't no snow.
I wish, man.
All right, everyone.
We've talked about it.
sure if we're going to do it, but then I found it streaming on Peacock.
This is the 1994 action fighting, comedy, sci-fi,
trying to be dramatic.
PG-13 adapted from a video game and from Capcom video game,
And this is the John Claude Van Damme, classic street fighter.
Jean-Claude Van Damme, when the stakes are high.
If my $20 billion are not delivered, the hostages will die.
He's the best there is.
Now, who wants to go home?
And who wants to go with me?
Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Raoul Jr., the street fighter.
I'm the repo name.
And you're out of business.
Reded PG-13.
Now playing at theaters everywhere.
Oh, man.
I will get to it the second.
The General Bison, the evil dictator of Shadalu?
I guess.
Captures a busload of relief workers and holds them for ransom.
Colonel Gile leads an international strike force to invade Shadaloo to rescue the
hostages. Along the way,
Gail recruits Chen Li reporter and martial arts experts
whose father was killed by bison years ago.
Two young con men
and a sumo wrestler.
All right, that was...
I don't know if that's what happened.
Yeah, that was.
Google, let's see what IMDV.
Yassie, quick and to the point.
Colonel Gile and a various
and various other martial arts heroes fight against the tyranny of dictator M. Bison and his cohorts.
Yeah, there you are.
Yep.
This is directed by Stephen E. DeZusa, also written by him.
From what I understand, this was his first movie as a director, because they were saying he wrote all kinds of hit movies.
Yeah, looking it up.
He wrote Die Hard, 48 hours, Command.
I don't know what happened here.
Really quick, from what I understand,
once Universal got the
Capcom rights to make this
into a live action film
other than they couldn't find a director.
They wanted somebody big, but I guess all the
directors was like, nah, I'm good.
And I guess they dodged that bullet.
So, uh,
Stephen E. DeZoza, he was like, all right, I'll do it.
So this is what we got.
But this stars legendary martial arts actor, John Claude Van Dam as Colonel Gile,
Julia, Raul Julia, as M. Bison, Raul Julia, rest in peace.
Ming Nowin.
Oh, she's so fine. She was doing hot in this.
She's Chun Li.
Miko himself, Damien Chapa.
Odaley milkweed.
Yeah.
For you blood and blood out fans.
That movie was awesome.
We'll have to do it at some point.
He was Ken.
Kylie Minow.
That was her?
Yeah.
As Cammy.
Simon Callow is
just not nobody.
Byron Man.
was it Raiu or Riyu?
Because they were saying different
According to this movie, whatever,
whatever you feel like,
because I swore I heard it two different ways in this movie.
So did I.
Because Bison called him Riyu and
Ken was calling him Raiu as well as some other people.
All right.
Roshan Seth as Dalsland.
I could never say this name.
the game
Dazim or something
I don't know
Dalsling
I don't know
that's that's another
I never knew
what to correct
pronunciation
especially when we get to
another character
that was completely
ruined in here
that I never knew
the correct
I don't even know
the Batman villain
Raz Algoo is a Rhaz
I haven't know
you never know
um
leather face
the second leather face well from the remake he wasn't the second leather face it was multiple guys who played leather face who had the chains off series but Andrew Bernowski
Bernowski he was Zengief I thought he looked just like the guy just like the character in the game I like him in everything
I didn't know Zankeef was supposed to be stupid yeah and special agent Johnson uh no
the other one.
Grand L. Bush as Barla,
ballrog.
He didn't do nothing in this movie.
We'll get to something that I just noticed for the first time after all these years that I was like,
how,
where did that happen?
That's stupid.
I just,
we'll get to it.
Robert.
Mamoni,
I think that's how he says.
He was Carlos Blanca.
We'll get to.
the Blanca in a minute.
Rob the ball on that one.
Demon,
aka Juana Man,
Miguel A. Nunez,
Jr. as DJ.
Ah, man.
What was it with that accent?
But all right.
All right.
This character,
I was like,
ah, come on.
Nothing against the actor,
native actor,
Greg Rainwater.
He was T. Hawk,
was it Thunder Hawk?
Was it Thunder Hawk?
Was that his name of the game?
Yeah.
I was saying.
Yeah, he didn't.
He's huge in the video game.
I mean,
as in like muscular and everything.
And here he was all skinny and small and all right,
whatever.
Well,
it wasn't his fault.
Kenya,
Sadawa is Captain Sadawa.
Okay,
I don't even know who that guy was.
He's the captain of the
one troops.
They had that stupid scene where they pulled up
the security feed and it's oh that was him okay yeah and they had the Godzilla sounds because
you know they're Asian and yeah stereotypical racist stuff in this one uh Jay
Taveri or Tovari I don't know how you say his name he was vagab I liked how he looked
but he could do a little more yeah Peter Navy wasn't what's his name from the
whatever that group is
which group
black eyepes
oh uh taboo or whatever
yeah
his name is
I kind of want to watch that one too
I haven't seen that in a while
I mean I like the actor
but he was not bison
from the video game
I mean that's
I guess we
watch it at some point
Peter Navy
ooh
yes we'll just go
Peter
yeah he was
E Honda
I didn't know I Honda was Hawaiian or Samoan
But all right
I thought he was a lot of strange casting
The next one you're about to read
It's kind of love the actor
But yeah
I was like okay
The great West Stutey
Academy Award winner West Studey
Victor Sagat
I liked how he looked
And I love West Dutie
Not just because he's native
He's done a lot of ton of good roles
but you got a paycheck, I guess.
I liked him as the sphinx and mystery, man.
And then a bunch of other people,
but those were pretty much all the characters from the video game.
But, all right, Street Fighter.
Brian, what did you think of it?
I first saw this in the movie theater.
Big fan of the video game.
I remember one Christmas,
that that's all I wanted was the game and I got it.
Didn't care about anything else.
I played that game until I beat it.
I didn't come out in my room for,
I don't know how long.
Bound out they're doing a movie.
Van Dam's in it.
I'm like,
okay,
he's not American,
but they never,
they never explained his accident in any movie.
So I guess you just go with it.
Went to see it.
And man,
did I fucking hate this movie?
And I still hate it to this day.
It is a bunch of, I've been, lately I've been trying to be positive on stuff,
but this movie is so far off of what the game should be.
It's not even, it's not even funny, really.
I mean, we just went through some of the cast.
Apparently back then, you couldn't find certain actors to play certain nationalities.
So you just got whatever fucking Van Dam.
My man, I love his movies, but I think this is probably one of his,
worst movies because he was hamming it up and he was being kind of I don't know at times I felt
like he was also being kind of dumb and then next minute he was trying to like push up on every
female and uh Rao Julia I think he is the best part of this movie because he looked like
he had fun and I heard he did this movie for his kids before he passed because they were a super
big fan of the game which I respect that uh Ming Nau-Wan
I think she looks good.
She looks like Chun Lee,
but she looks like an older version of Chun Lee to me.
No disrespect to the actress, beautiful actress.
Damien Chapa, he's not Ken, not even close.
And he did, he did nothing, nothing.
Him and Ryu, I call him Ryu.
Everybody can call him Ryu, whatever.
So many wasted doll zine,
the dog whatever didn't do anything didn't even really get his look until like his last
scene in the movie blanca was the biggest like what the fuck you guys what they put no budget
toward makeup or nothing i understand you guys are going to go practical on this one but come
on at least get a big muscular guy you don't have to have the same little actor that was the
human version of him just get some
a buffer guy to you know at least fill
him out and
just Zangy for like I said before
I didn't know he was supposed to be dumb
this guy didn't even know who he was
fighting for was he a good guy bad guy nothing
I don't know yeah just
the thing I noticed with ballrog
I never noticed before
when they're doing the big fight scene at the end
did you notice he had boxing
and like a jersey and basketball shorts or something,
boxing trunks.
Yeah.
I never noticed.
That was one question.
I was like,
where did everyone get their,
their outfits to how they look in the game?
I was,
I mean,
the only one that made sense was Ken and Raiu
because they gave them what the,
like the Shadow Loo guys were training.
So that kind of made.
eight cents all they had to do was just tear off the the little logo but according to this movie the
way chunley looks in the game is because that's how bison wanted to dress her up before he banged her
yeah that was a little uh creepy yeah yeah i was wondering i was like
i mean this movie i was like cutting my nails pulling uh the gray hairs out of my nose and
Yeah, I was like, oh, come on.
But yeah, I mean, the costumes was funny.
I mean, it just, they were whatever they were wearing at the time.
Then the next scene, then they're all in costume and ready to fight.
Yeah, I'm with you.
Roel, Julia, he's an amazing actor.
He's done a ton of good films.
Of course, everyone knows him as Gomez Adams.
He killed it in both of those movies.
In this, he was sick the whole time.
I guess he had stomach cancer.
And from what I understand, he was like really skinny.
And because he had done his chemo and everything.
And they were like, oh, man, I mean, they needed him because he wanted to do it.
Like Brian said for his kids, which was amazing.
I mean, I was watching something later on today.
now when they were talking about
Raul Julia, I was like
at the verge of tearing up
because his kids, they
loved the game and then when he got the
script, he
showed him what he
what he was going to do next and they were
or he asked him, do you guys think I should do this?
And they saw it was street fighter and they were like, yeah.
So I mean,
shout out to him. I mean, that's,
we do everything for our kids
as a father and
even as a grandfather, I do everything
for my grandsons.
But I watching it
after hearing all that
and then watching it, I was like
I mean, he put like
110%
in his character.
He went for it. He was
hamming it up and he was
into the script, into the
story, just said being
this huge, outrageous
bad guy.
And he was the
only one that sounded like he
read the script or knew his lines. Everyone else was like, um, um, yeah. And oh my God, Van Dam. Yeah, he's not the
greatest actor. I love his action movies, not all of them. But I was like, what, what are you doing? Are you just
ad-libbing the whole thing? Um, because they were saying that they, they had to film this like really
fast because Universal said, okay, we got it, but we needed, we needed to be out and ready to go
for the Christmas holiday season.
And so you can clearly see where they put all the budget because the budget for this film was 35 million.
And for as bad as this is, it was a hit.
It made 99.4 million in the box office.
Van Dam took eight of that 35 million.
But they were saying that since they were filming this so quick,
They let a lot of the actors kind of, okay, this is what you're supposed to say, but say it however you want to say it.
And they were, you can clearly see that's what they were doing.
They did action and they just said their lines, however.
Damien Chapa, I love him as Miklo and Blood and Blood and Blood out.
And a couple of the little things I've seen him in, but he, he did not sell Ken in this at all.
he was
every time he was on the screen
all I see is Mikolo
that's all I see
but
yeah I was like
come on man
I mean
good for him
he was getting paid
and he was in a big
blockbuster movie
but
I don't know
what was going
with some of these characters
when they were
when they were talking
and everything
but
I mean over that
yeah it was
it was a stupid story
um
did Raoul Julius save the movie? No, but he
I'm what I loved about that is he looked like bison
Yeah, the whole outfit and everything. I mean everyone's outfit they did look like him. They just
They just didn't it wasn't executed good enough. It was just like what are you guys doing? And again
With their budget, you can clearly see that they went for it especially with the sets
The costumes and
When they did have special
effects. This early
90s CGI
mainly with the boat, the
stealth boat. It looked
cool, but I was like, if you're trying to be
all secret and stealthy,
why is his name on the side of it?
Stensles.
I was like, what? Colonel
William
something guy. I was like, oh my God.
Okay. And it wasn't just on
one side. It was on both sides
of this little stealth boat. But
the other thing I did
like
Raoul Julia or Bison
his little control panel thing
he was flying around in
did you notice that that was the
joystick setup
for the arcade
I thought that was sweet
I did catch a
Capcom
logo on the bottom
of one of those barrels
that someone threw
they show
or not not through
it was
when
Chinle and those guys are doing that little circus actor or whatever.
When they picked up that barrel, you could see it on the bottom.
But, oh, this movie was just a big, hot mess.
But even the fight scenes, I mean, there was when they were fighting, but I don't know if any of you young listeners ever watched.
Maybe you older listeners, if you guys remember the same.
Sid and Marty Croft shows like
Lost Saucer, Land of the Lost or
shit like that, Sigman and the Sea Monster.
This is how it seemed like
that. It was like it seemed like they just
made it all slap sticky
and
I don't know, I just wasn't feeling
him. They probably let the
actors choreographed
their own fights.
They said they did. Oh, okay.
Well, there you go. Yeah, I mean,
they were like, they kind of,
all right, you guys are going to fight and do this?
And they basically just, all right, action and go.
Yeah, because some of them is like,
I think this is what the character does in the game.
Like when Ryu, or not Ryu, can,
in the game, he does that jump in uppercut.
Yeah.
Damien Chapa does it, but he doesn't jump.
He just kind of spins.
I was like, that's a week.
And then Ryu with his, I guess,
fireball, but it's just really a flash.
I don't know.
I mean,
I Honda.
Ball rog winding up his fist and it sounds like the roadrunner.
Oh.
E Honda, he did do the head thing.
I thought that was cool.
I mean,
I did enjoy that,
but he didn't do the fast hands.
Or I guess he was supposedly he did in it,
but it didn't just look like crap.
But.
That was fast.
actor can go.
Yeah.
Dahl's him or however he say his name.
Yeah, he only looked like him at the end of the movie for like a second.
But he didn't do his stretchy arms.
I was hoping.
You know what they should have did?
This, okay, we're kind of jumping all over the place.
But when I guess Giles' only thing he thinks he can do is put Blanca down because of the way he is,
that's when they should have did the stretchy arm thing for, for dolls.
he could have just reached over with his stretchy arm and
grab the gun and was like wait don't you know don't do that that that
that would have been something yeah
but I mean other than we'll be here all night
not even talking about the movie but talking about the things that were
wrong or dumb or stupid or whatever but um there is people
I mean there's I was watching and reading some stuff there's this I think it was
called it's so bad
it's good.
Okay, I know there is.
I mean, I like a lot of dumb movies.
But this one was like, it was dumb, but I wouldn't consider it was so dumb.
It was good.
I just, maybe if you're just sitting around with your buddies and you want to laugh around
and play drinking games or whatever and watch this, yeah.
But it was nothing to write home about Van D.
when he was fighting, of course, he did his spin kick at the end and everything, but
I mean, he did what he did.
I mean, but, I mean, the whole, the point of this whole story is in Southeast, or Southeast Asia,
the nation of Shalilaloo, Shadalu, a civil war is erupted between the forces of drug lord
turned general, M. Bison and the allied nations led by Colonel William F. Gile.
right ally excuse me
nations a
a in it's basically
UN
um
um
bison's like holding these guys
hostage and he wanted like what
a hundred billion or something like that
yeah
which he wanted to turn into
bison bucks
yeah
fuck
and they don't give them
they don't give him his money
he's gonna kill all the hostages
and then do it again for for someone else
or whatever.
So,
uh,
Gile and Bison have this long feud.
And Giles is determined to bring down Bison.
So that that's basically your,
your storyline.
Chun Li Mingna,
she is trying to get Bison because Bison killed,
her father when she was young.
I think those are the only two that had somewhat of a story on why they wanted to,
to get,
bison everyone all these other characters were just thrown in uh briefly said ballrog and
e honda i guess he ruined their sumo and boxing careers and coincidentally they just all
became a news team together yeah okay um so along the way yeah they they start meeting up with
everybody to to try to take out bison ken and raiu they're kind of like some
some little, um, uh, shady little, uh, businessman.
This, this was stupid.
In the beginning, they were selling, uh, guns to, um, to Gott and his organization.
But the guns were toys.
I, I didn't, I didn't get it.
I was like, okay.
I mean, those, those crazy guns that shoot out those little plastic ball, the big plastic
ball, not those little BB looking.
things but
I was like
yes this
this movie was geared towards kids
but okay
so
they're just
they're just trying to
get that extra buck
and then
Seagat just
kind of captures them
and he's starting to deal
well no they they all got arrested
by the A&
led by
Gile
and then
Canon Rai
They, they, they're guile and them figured out that, all right, these guys are going to be good guys.
So let's try to come up with a thing for them to try to get closer to Bison so they can go in and bring him to justice.
So they're like, all right.
So they're basically, those two were like undercover.
And, oh, man.
I mean, is it just, you have to hire idiots?
for your evil terrorist organization.
I mean, okay, I don't know.
Everyone that worked for Bison
did absolutely nothing, nothing at all.
Yeah, what was demons deal?
What?
What was his name in this?
I don't even remember.
DJ.
Yeah, DJ.
I mean, what?
He did not have one fight scene.
He pushed buttons at the little control panel, and that's it.
Was he just one of his little lackeys?
I mean, I didn't understand who he was.
Like I said, he just, like push buttons and was supposed to be getting paid.
And then they had that stupid scene, Zanky was like, you get paid?
well one of the one of the hostages was um uh carlos uh i think that was his name charlo or charlie uh or carlos charlie blanca
and he was uh guiles one of his buddies and uh bison was creating kind of doing like a hitler thing
he wanted to make this super soldier so that he was
had his crazy scientist trying to create this
this ultimate soldier being or whatever
I didn't get why his skin turned green and his hair turned orange but
okay um and that was
making him watch uh violence basically just to get his mind into that
violent state so he can go out there and kill but
and then you got dozzling him he uh
I guess he was trying to be good, so he was trying to help Blanca escape.
And along the way, there wasn't very much fighting kind of,
there was little bits here and there, but nothing to write home about.
But the main fight you wanted to see was Bison and Gile at the end.
Yeah.
So, I mean, they tried to invade Bison's little fortune.
where were they? Oh, Shaladoo. Never mind.
So,
so that was it. That was the movie.
And then once they invade his little fortress and then all the
fighting starts and
it was just like, oh my God. It was
so bad. You just summed up the entire
movie in like five minutes.
Yeah. I mean, there was nothing.
There was by, you know, bison demanding money.
and people got arrested.
There was like a little bit of fighting here.
Guy kept flexing his bicep at the camera.
And he just could not.
This was probably like his worst acting job ever in any of his movies.
Is this one of the movies he was like high on cocaine?
Probably.
Because this was the young,
the young, young Van Dam.
But I was like, oh, come on.
I mean, I just, he got on my nerves in this one.
Just how bad he was acting, trying to be all super tough and everything.
And just it didn't work, man.
I was like, oh, come on.
And they tried to throw in like little comedic beats here and there.
Like when Chun Li got away when, because there was a part where she was going undercover,
sneaking in somewhere and they caught her and then she was getting away and somebody said something
and he just came in he was like oh what a woman you know but it was supposed to be like comedic
the way he said it and i was like no you're acting that's comedic he was like a womanizer
mn bison yeah he kept like touching on chun lee and cammy and i was like she's like you're like
I guess underneath you because he's a colonel.
She's supposed to be like a sergeant.
You're not supposed to be all like touching her face.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
He was,
I mean,
earlier in the,
in the year in 1984,
he had,
time cop was right before,
uh,
this film.
And go back and listen to that episode when you're trying to,
a three hour episode.
Tom Cops
We tried to crack
Time travel
Didn't work
I mean I think up to this point
Man he had a lot of good movies
I mean they weren't the greatest man
We had kickboxer and Bloodsport
And all of that
And hard target
I think we should do that one at some point
Yeah I'm gonna check
Cause this might have been the start of him
Going down from here
I say it was
I mean it was
after this you got
the sudden death was all right
I like that one but then you got like the quest
I know a lot of people did like the I didn't like it at all
maximum risk wasn't very good
double team was cool I mean I liked that one
yeah all the basketball jokes
started getting a host
yeah it was just
his career I mean he's still going
strong but it just wasn't
the greatest.
I mean,
he did have some,
um,
there was one replicant.
When did that one come out?
Um,
that one was actually pretty good.
That was the evil clone.
Yeah,
I liked that one.
It was just someone brought it to work and we watch it.
I was like,
man, damn,
really?
All right.
Let's see what it is.
And I ended up enjoying that one.
That one was came out in 2001.
But yeah,
this,
this film,
it was just,
it was just a big mess.
It was all over the.
the place. It was like, all right, here's the scene. This is what you've got to do. Action.
And do what you want. And spit out your lines as bad as you can.
It was just, it was horrible. I mean, again, Raul Julia, he was the only one that looked like he was
putting, putting the time into this job he was doing. I mean, he's, he, he didn't, he didn't, he
wasn't bad at all.
He was hamming it up and everything, but that was, that was a character.
Yeah.
It's like, it's like you said earlier, like he knew what he read the script.
It just really seemed like he knew what he, he got it, you know.
Yeah.
And everybody was just like, oh, I don't really know the backstory of my character,
but I think they talk like this and do that, you know, I'm like, damn, did you guys at least go play the game or something?
or I'm sure he sat down with his boys and they probably explained to to their dad who
who bison was and what he's doing so he probably okay and I'm sure he sat there and watched
them play but sure Van Damien didn't play no he's like I'm just I'm just going to be Van Damme
yeah I mean that's all he was I mean he didn't even look like Guyle gile had this his blonde
hair blonde hair blue eyes and he has this crazy flat top and just i don't remember him wearing
blue or whatever but uh okay yeah they had blue camo and the bad guys had red camo and
yeah they're in the jungle so i don't know why they have these color camo outfits on yeah because
the giles has like the green uh army gear uh in the game but okay
So, yeah, that was it.
I mean, that was basically the movie.
And then when we get to the end to the big fight scene,
shout out to Role, Julia.
He did pretty much, not all of it,
but majority of his fight scenes.
Because he was like, I want to do it.
I want to do it.
No, I don't want to double.
Let me do it.
When he was flying around on the strings,
when he got kicked into the monitors.
There's, oh, my God.
But, I mean, he did it, I mean, which was good.
I mean, yeah, he was probably in pain that old time, but he, he did what he was supposed to do.
He did what he was getting paid for.
And he left.
I'm sure his kids saw it.
And I'm sure they still watch it today and just laugh at how bad this movie is.
But, I mean, their dad, man, he was the best thing about this whole film.
I mean, he really got into this character.
So, I mean, that's the only thing I can say that was really good in this was him.
I mean, he's, uh, absolutely.
He's an amazing actor.
He can, he can do it.
And he did it.
And this was his last film.
And, uh, he passed away, um, not too long after they were done filming, they said, but.
Yeah, this, this movie is, it's, it's dumb.
I mean, uh, real quick.
Can we talk about the fucking.
ridiculous posing scene at the end.
I don't understand the,
okay, the Bison's little headquarters is already
falling down because it exploded. And there's one more
explosion and they all turn around. And I'm assuming
these are poses from the game, but it's like weird.
Because why would, because it was an explosion, why would
Cammy just turn around and like show her ass?
I don't know. I mean,
And I have no idea what Van Dam's doing.
It's like he's hip thrusting or something.
Okay.
The only one that kind of that I remember is Chun Lee,
because she's kind of like jumping up excited.
And I remember she,
she did that when you would, like, win the game.
Yeah.
Oh, it was.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I see a picture of it.
And, yeah.
that's how they were in the
movies I guess
but that's it's Cammy's fighting stance
yeah
all right
but
the fight scene at the end
I mean Van Dam does what he does
and all right it's cool
but
um
the role Julia
he
he did what he had to do
but his
his fighting wasn't
the greatest.
But I mean, I can give it to him.
He did it.
I mean, know how he felt and everything.
He did it.
So that's the only thing, the only good thing you can take about this.
But it's just,
the, it would,
the fight at the end was just corny,
and they were falling off scaffolds and fighting on his little floating thing.
And I never know.
noticed it as much this time, but there's a lot of scenes where that wasn't Van Dam.
Oh, yeah.
I'm like, whoa.
Like, I don't know.
This, this might have been where he just really started.
I guess not Karen or not giving a fuck because there's scenes where it's clearly not him.
Because the guy's like, of course, you can see his face.
It's not him.
But the guy's also a little bit bigger.
Yeah.
I mean, it's, I mean, this set.
I'm watching it right now.
I mean, the set looks cool.
Obviously in some kind of warehouse somewhere, but Van Dam, he didn't do no splits in this one, did he?
No.
Okay.
I was waiting for them to do that, but he never did.
But he does what he does, man.
I mean, his spin kicks, his flips, and his roundhouses and all that.
I mean, he did do a couple of movies.
moves from the game.
He had to, and I'm sure they told him to,
because if they didn't tell him to do a move from the game,
he probably wouldn't have done it.
He had just been out there being Van Dam.
And that's like the worst American flag tattoo ever.
And he's not even American.
But okay.
We didn't make this.
After, this was funny, it made me laugh.
After, uh, uh,
Gile defeated Bice,
in the first time.
And then
Bison's little built-in
resuscitator
or something inside of his
uniform
brought his heart
got his heart pumping again
and he woke up.
I was like, oh my God.
The Bison
life support system
is what they're calling it.
I gave him adrenaline shot.
Yeah, it looks
so stupid.
He didn't like,
he didn't like
his chest like going up and down.
Like that was like,
yeah.
All right, man.
But, I mean,
he gets back up and then
they continue with the fighting.
I didn't like the,
he does it in the game when Bison
shoots the lightning out of his
out of his hands or fists or whatever.
It's,
it just looks so goofy.
But again, this is the only thing I can say is good about it.
Even for as bad as the fight is at the end, he, Raul Julius still puts on an awesome performance with the dialogue.
Oh, yeah.
Because that scene with Chun Lee, when he's just, she's telling him about all the horrible shit he's did.
And he was just like, yeah, that was so traumatic.
you but it was it was a Tuesday for me and I was like you're that's cold-blooded he's like I don't
even know what you're talking about it was Tuesday and uh the whole flying around thing with
his little flying boots or whatever oh that was terrible it looks so corny but shout out to
ral julia man he was he did he did that stunt he they
hooked him up to the harness and the wires and he flew around and everything doing it.
And it just looks so stupid.
But hey, it was a blogbuster.
I mean, it made tons of money for Universal.
But all right.
And the final thing, when Bison goes flying at Van Dam, he does his spin kick and
bison goes flying into all the time.
TV monitors and
they blow up and then the
whole
command center, whatever they're fighting in
starts blowing up and
sets off a chain reaction and blows
the whole fortress
up.
Kyle makes it out of there just
in time. Yeah.
I mean, everyone was getting the hell out of
there. I mean, if it wasn't for
what's his nuts?
What's the Russian guys in his
angie? If he, everyone would have
died because he
was the one that helped him get out.
He held up the wall.
Yeah, how does he not know they're the bad guys?
I mean, they're murdering people.
I don't know.
He's big and stupid, I guess.
He turned really quick and they all just accepted it.
Yeah.
Because he was standing there right with him at the end of the movie.
And they're like, oh, hey.
Oh, he didn't know.
He was just dumb.
Yeah.
But from what I,
understand, I mean, that's the movie
everyone. But from what I understand,
they said they,
for the short amount of time they had to film,
people were getting sick
because I think the film is in Taiwan.
They were saying people were getting sick
from the local food.
You just probably just not used to it.
And you get sick.
Some people got sick from
actors and the crew got sick from
the water that wasn't treated.
So they,
were getting sick from that.
They said a lot of those a lot of bad things going on on the set just because of the
environment and everything.
And I'm sure they were just trying to do whatever they could as fast as they could because
they had,
they only had so much time to film it all, edit it, then put it out by December.
So they were just on it.
And like I said, they filmed Rolls, Raoul Julia's fighting.
scenes in the very beginning.
He said they basically said they made the movie
in reverse, starting
with the end and filming on.
When the movie, when they were done filming,
it was the beginning of the film.
So they'd say,
they were just, all right, come on, we got to do it, we got to do it.
We got to do it. And I'm sure everyone
was probably just pissed on how
fast they were doing it.
That explains it because
in the beginning, that's when
Van Dam seems like he's doing the least or
cares about the movie.
at least the least.
So he tries to give you that big old speech to
to hype you up.
Oh, you son of a bitch, Pison.
Oh my God.
I was like, I just did not buy anything he said.
He just delivered his lines horribly.
I mean, I believed Bison.
I mean, he was really into the crazy
takeover the world shit that he was saying.
And he did it.
I mean, that's how good of an actor,
Raoul Julie is.
Yeah, this movie, if you got Peacock and you haven't seen it
and we're selling it to you, yeah.
We didn't sell anything.
But if you live the rest of your life and not seeing this movie,
I mean, then you could say you've never seen it.
But, oh, man, it's bad.
Again, if you just want to see how,
if you've never seen it and you do want to see how bad it is,
go ahead and watch it.
If you got Peacock, why not?
And just maybe you'll get some kind of enjoyment out of it.
But yeah, if we're going to grade this thing, this was zero.
Ten for Raul Julia, but everything else was just horrible.
And characters that did nothing.
I mean, good characters in the game, but you put them in this and they did nothing.
so but uh all right i guess
that was street fighter
1984
will i buy it for the library
maybe i don't know if i saw it cheap somewhere
yeah it's got to be right
yeah i'm not paying anything over 10 i mean it's got to be five or down
in order for me to get that
what if it's a brand new steel book
then you motherfuckers
now you
that you said that.
I guarantee you someone's going to come out.
The front cover is just going to be Van Dam flexing his bicep with that American flag
tattoo.
Oh, yeah.
This was 27, what?
The movie's almost 30 years old.
27 years, I think, when this came out.
I'm basing it on my daughter.
She was born in 94 and she's 27.
So.
Van Dam.
Man, man.
I don't love everything you do, but this one was terrible.
Was he all coked up?
Probably.
Oh, they did say someone got busted for steroids.
I don't know who.
It was probably Bernowski.
One of them, I don't know.
Or it could have been one of those other buff dudes.
But all right.
The guy that played Vega,
Jay
Taver,
Tavari, whatever.
Some people are saying that he's false.
He's supposed to be native.
He says he's Navajo and
Patchy.
He's playing a ton of
Native roles. I've seen him in
things, but a lot of
natives aren't
buying it. So, but
I don't know. I don't know the man.
I'm just going by what I was told.
But Greg Rainwater,
that played T-Hawk, Thunderhawk.
He's legit.
I forgot he was in a movie.
Yeah.
He looked stupid.
I mean,
did he need the feather?
He didn't have the feathers on.
In the game,
he's got feathers and a headband and the war paint.
Okay.
I mean,
that's how his character is in the game.
You think he's going to do something because, you know,
he puts it on.
Van Damme asked why is he,
why is he wearing him?
he tells him.
So you're thinking this character's about to do something.
And I don't even think I seen him until the end.
Yeah.
I mean,
it was like how everyone did it.
I mean,
they were all dressed normal.
And then next thing you know,
they got all their,
their gear on from the game.
Shit's about to go down and look,
I just found some boxing trunks and some boxing globes.
I'll put these on.
and even
West Studey as
Sagat
he had time to
to go wrap his hands
just like he had
the hand wraps in the game
yeah
okay
oh my god
this this
movies it's
it's bad
but visually
it's really colorful
they did what they could
uh
with the short amount of time they had
I mean the the
the characters
did look somewhat like the characters in the game,
so you can give it that,
but it just wasn't a good movie.
It was horrible.
Yeah, it made tons of money.
Good, good for them,
and good for this director being his first movie,
making a blockbuster,
but that doesn't mean that it was good.
I mean, this movie was geared towards kids and everybody,
and they ate it up.
I mean, I remember my brother's seeing this
and then loving it because they loved Van Dam.
But they were like, and they loved playing street fighter.
So they were all about it.
But here, I'm sitting there going.
And 27 years later watching it.
But yeah, everyone, that street fighter.
I mean, I don't know what else to say about it.
All right.
Right. You're up, man. What do you got for us next week?
All right. This is a movie that I have not seen.
It's from 2009. It's on Amazon Prime. I was inspired to pick this from your Skates Society.
Oh, okay.
Yeah. So this is 2009's Street Dreams.
Street Dreams.
Yeah. This has, yeah, where's my thing?
The cast has Rob Deerdeck, Ryan Shekler, Paul Rodriguez, Terry Kennedy.
Is this a movie?
Yeah, I just remember hearing about it like from, I used when he had that one show,
a fantasy factory.
Uh-huh.
And it was supposed to be a movie about skateboarding made by skateboarders.
Okay.
And Paul Rodriguez, I think, is the star.
of it.
All right.
Oh, and it's got the late and great
Ryan Dunn.
Rest in peace.
Yeah.
I hate Ryan Shekler.
He's the fucking
spoiled,
privileged-ass
brat.
Good skater.
I can give him that,
but his reality show
ruined it for me.
And he is,
this is my opinion,
everyone.
I mean, but I just did not
like this kid at all.
but I never even heard of this film
so it's going to be new for us
okay cool
but yeah man I'm sure
I can watch it so
good big good pick good pick
because
good and I can look at it with
fresh eyes I know the skating will be good
but we'll see how these
how these guys act
maybe maybe even found out
Maybe you'll have to call out some skateboarding in there.
We'll see.
But, yeah, everyone, that's Street Fighter.
Again, it's streaming on Peacock.
And if you want to brave it, go for it.
But like I said, you can live the rest of your life without seeing it.
And you'll be fine.
So, but, all right.
Street Dreams next week.
Action Returns.
We're doing the second film in the Beverly.
Hills Cop Series Beverly Hills Cop 2
Um
East Society
I just dropped over on our anchor feed
Skate Society
I'm starting to do this I this is probably the second
episode I did about it
Talking about Police Academy 4
Not the whole film, just the skateboarding
In it
So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do next with that one
At some point I'm gonna do just regular skate videos
And even talk about movies
I could probably talk about street dreams.
Street dream, so I'm going after I watch it.
But we do got a regular episode.
It'll be out in the next couple days,
taking a few days off and they're going to probably knock it out really soon.
I need to watch a movie really quick before we do that one.
But yeah, that's it that we got on our side.
What do you guys got coming?
as we currently have what the fuck did we do a quiet place two and tremors that episode's out now
and next week next episode is the new conjuring the devil made me do it and the haunting in
connecticut and uh yeah uh looking for some uh iTunes reviews uh if we get a certain amount of
them we're going to do a
fanatic
commentary
and I'm
hoping that
everybody who loves the fanatic
joins us for their commentary
and we just
show Lance
how much we love the fanatic
um
fuck man I was going to ask you something
uh
oh are you going to watch
are you going to go to the theater or are you going to
just watch a
on HBO Max. I'm going to watch it on HBO Max.
Yeah, me too. But if I get to the theater, I get to the theater.
Yeah. We'll see. But I forgot. It was streaming on there.
Yeah, I was not too happy with my last theater experience, but...
Yeah, mine either.
Listen, listen to the last episode of The Horror Returns. You hear both our experiences.
Oh, we also got a bonus episode coming.
What's that movie again?
The mentor.
Yeah.
Is it this year, 2021 or?
You never know.
It was released this year.
Okay.
So it could have been made last year.
All right, everyone.
Yeah, get ready for that too.
I got to watch it.
I just now remembered it.
I mean, we do so much on the Horror Returns Network as well as a SkaterNs
Network, so.
Got more coming too.
Yeah.
Everything gets jumbled.
But all right, everyone, that's going to be it.
Come back next week for Street Dreams and come back also for action returns, Beverly Hills Cop 2.
And both of our regular shows as well when those drops.
But until then, everyone, please be safe out there.
I know a lot of states are opening back up fully back to normal, but it's still going on.
So don't think it's gone.
it's not it's probably going to be here with us for the rest of our lives but just be safe out
there that's the bottom line so until then come back next week and we'll see you guys in so until
then party on yeah just just like this is make sure you make sure you be safe be good to each other
and never accept bison bucks game over
