Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey man, you need to get with the program. Bother books, do the reading, and the problem. Why, you keep simple. Hey, guys, I smell something. You smell something? I smell something. I smell it. I smell it.
Starting point is 00:00:13 Hold up, hold up. This is black men using their power of authority against another brother. Hey, yo, black, this ain't correct. What's up with that? Yo, who is this, man, your girlfriend? Yeah, what you want, though? Join your stuff, man. Wait a minute, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:00:25 What are you guys doing here anyway? What are we doing here? What up with that? The motherfucker's in college and he can't even read. Yo, man, this means any time we want to. We can fuck you right up. Yo, and like, right now, I definitely feel it. He's all right.
Starting point is 00:00:37 You feel it, man? You know, you're feeling about it. You know what you're right now, man. You really feel it? You know what he means, man. What does he mean? Tell these two motherfuckers what time it is. It's time to kick their fucking in.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Yeah, come in. The episode of THR Present Stream Feans. I'm your host, Brian. With me, as always, it's my brother Nez. What's up, man? I'm good. Sorry, everyone. I'm going to take the blame for this one.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Just life's getting in the way. So we're trying to get back on track. But before we dive in to House Party 2, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, welcome to another quick episode of the wrestling returns. And, uh, WWE, hell and the cell. what'd you think of it all it was complete garbage man
Starting point is 00:01:52 I man if I wasn't subscribed to peacock and I was only subscribed to the WWE network I'd have fucking cancel that shit it's a bunch of garbage I mean there was some good there was some good moments there I thought the Bianca Belair
Starting point is 00:02:09 Bailey match was decent even though we didn't need to see it for the hundredth time Sammy Zane and Kevin Owens was a pretty decent match and fucking I don't know Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre
Starting point is 00:02:29 decent match hated the finish it made no sense there was so many just like what the I don't know I did not care about nothing the only thing I was I cared about going into this
Starting point is 00:02:44 was seeing what was the next step in the Roman ring heel saga and they just gave us that on Smackdown so I didn't really need to watch this one yeah it was what it was I mean the only matches I was really looking forward to was a Rio Ripley and Charlotte Flair um damn they're fine I'm sorry everyone who was supposed to be a heel in that one Charlotte, I guess, but I'm not buying it. I mean, yeah, Ria's the champ and she's wishy-washy on being the face and the heel,
Starting point is 00:03:30 but I don't know. I'm thinking Charlotte is the way she's been just bitching and complaining about everything. And I'm taking my spot back and all that shit. But as far as the as the Macs. I mean, they both go hard, no matter what, be it just regular TV or when it gets pay-per-views, they both go hard, especially Charlotte. I mean, I've always loved her. I mean, even during the NXT run, and once she got on the main roster, she was always kicking ass and doing something. Yeah, she does the same moves over and over like everyone else, but she's still, she's still out there doing it.
Starting point is 00:04:06 And Rio Ripley, man, she's just as awesome. I love it when these two go at it because we know we're going to get some good at. action, both of them in the ring. Yeah, there was some little slip-ups and everything. But overall, I knew Ria wasn't going to drop the belt, but she'd have just let her win. I mean, a disqualification, I was kind of like, oh, really? Yeah, that's why I don't know who the hill is.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I only did what she was going to do, Charlotte. Yeah. I was like, is that how you're going to win now? I was kind of like All right I mean I don't know who's right And yeah like you mentioned
Starting point is 00:04:52 Sammy Zane and Kevin Owens Sammy Zane ended up winning But We've seen this Over and over and over and over again But like you also Also like you said It was a good match
Starting point is 00:05:06 These guys go hard But I've said it before they're not going to go as hard and awesome as they did when their NXT match they had. I mean, to where like Kevin Owens almost killed Sammy Zane. I mean,
Starting point is 00:05:24 that's how awesome that match was. If you got Peacock, will find it, or I'm sure the whole match is on YouTube by now, but this is a few years ago. But I don't know. I was never a Sammy Zane guy. I mean,
Starting point is 00:05:37 I just got on my nerves. He's a great heel, though. but it's not going to go anywhere. No, I mean, Kevin Owens, I've always liked him as the heel, and he does a good job. He talks a lot of shit,
Starting point is 00:05:52 and he does what he does in the ring. I mean, for a big guy, I mean, he's still out there flipping and flying and all that, so I can appreciate him. He's always awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I mean, during the Indies, the Kevin Steen days, I always thought that was fucking badass. But how many times are we going to see this match? I mean, but I'm just like, okay, whatever, but. Oh, I didn't even mention the one that pissed me off the most.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Which one? They just completely buried Cizaro. Yeah, what the hell was that shit? I don't know. This is fucking Seth Rollins. Did you really need the wind? I mean, come on now. I mean, they did some, but they both do some good moves.
Starting point is 00:06:36 I love both of them. I mean, I still worry about Seth. him just when he does that flip I mean when he messed up his knee a few years ago I mean it wasn't nothing spectacular what he did but it was just the way he landed and just like buckled and foldeds but the knee does not bend that way
Starting point is 00:06:57 no I always feel like if you guys don't know we're talking about look up that video Seth Rallin's knee incident oh my gosh but I mean they both do what they do I mean, I love Cesarro. I mean, he's, I guess they're giving him more of a push now. But, I mean, I liked all the world of bar and all that shit.
Starting point is 00:07:19 But it was funny. I mean, I liked it. But, oh, man, I don't know what they're trying to do. I mean, shit, at least Seamus is the United States champs or Intercontinental or whatever, whichever one he is. Yeah. But, oh, that other match I was excited for and it was bullshit. the Alexa Bliss and Shanea Bazelor. Oh my
Starting point is 00:07:42 God, I don't know what the hell was happening. I'm done. I'm over it. The Alexa Blit, I mean, it was, I was with it when she was with the fiend. Yeah. But I have no idea where they're going with this. I didn't either.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I mean, the Dallas to Donuts, man. Shane of Bazel would have just wolf that ass, period. But I don't know I mean Alexa Bliss
Starting point is 00:08:11 And they're always never really a fan of her I love how she looks now I mean I've said it before But Sheena Bazeler I mean I've always liked her I mean she's a good heel She's not good on the mic
Starting point is 00:08:23 But she does what she does in the ring And I like it You can see that she wants to go Just a little bit harder But you can I don't think she can go really hard With Alexa Bliss she's too little small So just to get roughed up up. I mean, but
Starting point is 00:08:38 and that shit when Alexa Bliss was controlling Nia Jackson made a slap what's his name? I was like, oh my God, what is happening? I'm like, oh, okay. I mean, yeah, they all get paychecks at the end of the week, but I don't know what these writers are trying to do
Starting point is 00:08:59 with this, but I don't know. It's all a bunch of bullshit. But the first match of the night, this is the one I was really, really looking forward to. Bianca Bellar takes on Bailey. Of course, no matter what or whoever they're either of them or even if they're not wrestling each other or they're wrestling other opponents, these two ladies always go hell of hard. I've said this before.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I didn't like the heel turn for Bailey. I'm kind of warming up to it. Yeah, I'm in. I'm all in. I didn't like, I'm the long-haired guy, and I like the long hair. I didn't really care for the side pony and all that, but I like, I like the way Bailey looks now. And I, I want this from now on. I know at some point she's going to start hugging again and all the happy music, but I like what's happening.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I like what she's doing. And she still puts it all in when she's in the ring. But man, these gals are getting fucked up this match. she was killing me with the Michael Cole stuff because she had the she had the two candlesticks like pre-taped when she pulled it out because she tried it like a couple times before
Starting point is 00:10:18 and she couldn't get it taped up but this time she had it ready and then Michael Cole you get here talking about the the failed attempts before and then all of a sudden you just hear shut up Michael I mean was he speaking I guess he's speaking that
Starting point is 00:10:33 pretty loud right there Because then you get over the crowd or the fake crowd noise. Oh, man. When are they going to start letting people come back in? Or is that going to stop? Because I hear that this next wave is masks are getting ready to come back and all that. I'm not sure. I heard the pandemic's over.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I don't know, man. I heard it's coming back. People up here, I mean. Everyone's talking about. This is like the seventh wave. What are you talking about? The first wave never ended. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:09 That's my opinion. Everybody went to. Yeah, it's just because I took the family to watch Fast 9 the other day. And only us and the people that work there were the only ones with mass. I haven't seen it yet. I only saw the first 25 minutes. But yeah, I'm going to eventually get out there and see it before our next episode. But these gals, man, especially Bailey, man, with the welts from those candlesticks and getting slammed into it.
Starting point is 00:11:46 And I think at one point she did slam her head into one of the poles of the cell. It looked like she did try to at least block it. But I think like she caught some of it. But, man, they both do it. And then getting whipped by that hair, I don't care who you are. That's just still going to hurt. I thought that was going to be When she first came on the scene
Starting point is 00:12:09 I thought that was going to be like a Just a little gimmick thing And then she's so at some point Maybe someone's gonna cut it off or whatever But Oh we'll get there Somebody do it With the new Bianca
Starting point is 00:12:25 At that point But I mean I still enjoy both of them They both go hard And I keep saying this Pretty much every episode These gals All the gals go hard out there.
Starting point is 00:12:37 So, I mean, I'm glad this was the match that kicked it off. It started at a high and then just went full speed down the hill. I was like, oh, man. But I don't know. What's the next one? Money in the bank? We got NXT Great American Bash and then Money in the Bank. All right.
Starting point is 00:12:58 And then SummerSlam. Yeah, SummerSlam. I think, I think Krause will be back before, uh, before, uh, money in the bank starts. I hope so. I'm sure they have a lot of you got to wear masks because NXT, they got the live crowd in there.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah. Everybody's got a mask on, so. Have you seen NXT so far? No, I have not. Last thing I saw was takeover. They're starting a bullshit. Oh. You got, there's going to be some people that are calling up. Oh, man. I heard some news.
Starting point is 00:13:35 there's going to be a split up of a group. Oh, we jinxed them. We kept giving them to his props. Oh, Samo Joe came back, though. Yeah, so that's a good thing. Yeah, but overall, hell in the cell, I was like, I mean, I was watching, but then there was many times I was on my phone. Scroll it around that I'd look up.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I think the only match, the only two matches I watched straight through was, excuse me Bailey and Belair and Ria and Charlotte those are the only ones but oh the Bobby Lassley
Starting point is 00:14:17 and McIntyre They were going kind of hard They went hell of hard Because I'm looking at a picture right now of Drew McIntyre's back Oh my God Maybe you don't feel it when you're in the moment and your adrenaline's pumping, but I'm sure he didn't sleep on his back that night.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Yeah, Bobby got some cuts and scrapes on him too. Yeah, it looked like he got like he got gouged because if you guys have ever been like really, really scrape on your arm or wherever, there's sometimes where it's just white before the blood kicks in. And I saw it on Bobby, on Bobby Lash. I think it was his shoulder. Yeah, I think so. He caught something somewhere because I remember just seeing it white, but by the end, you finally see the blood trickling. Yeah, man, these guys go hard. I mean, Bobby Lashley, man, either he's as a vampire and just don't age. But my wife was like, I don't like that, dude.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Why does he look that way? I don't know. I'm looking at the picture, the poster for hell in the cell and is Bobby Lashley. She was like, what's the matter with his hands? I'm looking at it now I'm like, I don't I'm gonna look at it now I'm like I don't see what you're talking about
Starting point is 00:15:36 I mean I don't like his hands Why do they look like that? I'm like I don't know I mean maybe put some lotion on I don't know his hands is ashy
Starting point is 00:15:47 Not like he was playing in flour Or anything Yeah But yeah man I was watching old ECW stuff man He still looks the same But man
Starting point is 00:16:00 Yeah this is he guy I don't even know how old he is but he don't need does not age. Yeah, they got to do the Bobby Brock thing before. Yeah, I'm just at some point, I just, every pay-per-view, I mean, especially dealing with Bobby lastly when it's all over with, because we know he's going to win. He's going to hold on to that title for a while. I'm just waiting for Brock's music to kick in and then, I don't know. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I mean, overall, I just thought about that. I just thought that means Brock's going to have to talk if he doesn't have Paul Heyman. Brock's not good on the mic. I kind of have a feeling that the Heyman and Roman Rainson is coming to an end. I think Roman's just going to get tired of him. Who's going to carry his belt for him? One of the Uso's of whoever. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:57 but somebody will the head of the table it works for me it works for me I'm still there but for some reason I know Sina's coming back and I'm sure he's going to go after Roman so I'm a Sina guy
Starting point is 00:17:17 I'm part of the C nation but I got a route for for Roman rains I just have to so I'll cheer when his music hits and then yeah and then I'll just root for Roman the rest of the way I'll continue to boo John
Starting point is 00:17:38 How was he in Fast 9? He was okay I thought they could have given more to do But I understand there From what I heard they're setting up 10 and 11 to end the franchise 10 and 11 I thought there was one more movie and that was it.
Starting point is 00:17:59 No, they said 10 and 11. They're going to film them back to back. Oh, okay. And it's going to, there's going to be more cameos and, this is the mid-credit scene. So look for that. Was it a good explanation why Hans back? For the Fast 9 universe, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:21 All right, cool. I leave it at that. I don't want to know. But there's some, there's some unanswered questions that people need to answer. or four so I'll just leave it there. All right. But yeah, hell on a cell. Yeah. Okay, whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Don't stop making it a pay-per-view. You're making the whole hell-in-sell thing not important. Yeah. I mean, will we ever get a taker in Mankind match or like that again? No, never. No. But don't call a hell in a cell. Usually, I mean, the last, I mean, some of them,
Starting point is 00:18:58 I remember the hell in the cell, whatever, whatever, and there'll be one cell match. I'm like, come on. Lisa, we got two this time. So I don't know, everyone. But, yeah, we'll just wait for, uh, what is it, all American bash? Is that what you said?
Starting point is 00:19:14 Great American Bash, yeah. All right. Yeah. They'll go hard on that one. They always do. So we'll see. But all right, everyone. Was this? Yeah, this one was yours.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Yeah. I had the first one. So. All right, let me pull up the synopsis for House Party 2, 1991's sequel. Brothers, I can hunt a boat face! I want to thank all of you for making it possible for me to go to college. I won't let you down. Your tuition check bounce.
Starting point is 00:19:51 My tuition check bounce. Wake up, wake up, wake on. Get out of my room. Yo, without even hear my plan. Sigh! House party. The mother of house parties, man, a pajama jammy jam. All proceeds going to the Christopher Robinson Scholarship Fund.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Give it up, Black. What's going on, man? Name Jamal. Do me a favor. What? Talk white. Love the rap. Everybody know about this part, but the three of you.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I ain't no grandma. What up with that? Oh, baby. Baby! You look good. Kid and Play, Full Force, Tisha Campbell, Iman, Queen Latifah, and Martin Lawrence. It's the slaminous party ever. House Party, two.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Probably should have had this, having flashbacks to our last whole Returns episode. I did not have things pulled up. Rapper turns scholar kid gets into a college, but he runs out of cash. justice class to start. Desperate for Doe. He tried, Desperate for Doe, who wrote this? He tries working in the cafeteria, but when his time spent serving slop to students, starts to interfere with the studying and his relationship with his girlfriend, Sydney.
Starting point is 00:21:24 He looks for a new plan. He calls up his old partner in partying play. That is not what happened. And they organize a pajama shindig. Where women dress scantily and men pay to enter. All right. I guess that is not what happened. What movie was this?
Starting point is 00:21:47 I ain't what I watched. I'm not sure he willingly came to play. Let's see. House Party 2. Come on IMDV, don't let me down. Let's see. When kids' college money is stolen by a crooked, music promoter.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Play solution is to stage the mother. That's how they wrote it. The mother of all pajama parties. Starring Kid and Play and Martin Lawrence. That's more to it. House Party 2 stars. Kid and Play, Full Force, Tisha Campbell, Iman, Queen Latifah, George Stanford Brown,
Starting point is 00:22:35 Tony, Tony, Tony, Ralph Tresmond, and Martin Lawrence. What the fuck was that one guy's name? He really got on my nerves. Fucking Cameron. Played Jamal. Jamal Johnson. He's fresh, man.
Starting point is 00:22:51 YBT. Oh, young black teenagers. Nobody's black in the group. Fuck out of here. I saw live live live once. It was the Bring the Noise Tour. It was public enemy. No.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Anthrax Public Enemy. Primus and Young Black Teenagers We were actually standing In the lobby But from where I was standing I could see them on stage I mean they had a couple
Starting point is 00:23:19 Songs that were okay But nothing to write home about I think they did two albums And then I don't know what happened after that But yeah I remember hearing young black teenagers But then When I saw their videos I like
Starting point is 00:23:32 You know white guys And this is okay with everybody But guess in the 90s it was all right I don't think that could fly today no yeah fucking what was that song
Starting point is 00:23:44 they had tap the bottle or whatever the fuck it was called tap the bottle and twist the cap or yeah some shit like that let's see who directed
Starting point is 00:23:56 this was directed by Doug McHenry and George Jackson written by Darrell G. Nickens and Rusty Condon from Tales from the Hood
Starting point is 00:24:11 Based on characters Created by original Hudlin What did you think of House Party 2? Oh, this one was good I mean,
Starting point is 00:24:22 I liked it. It wasn't as good as the first one, but it, it was funny. I think this one went a little more slapsticky
Starting point is 00:24:31 because they were adding the little joky sound effects in the back, in the background every now and then. or just sound effects in general
Starting point is 00:24:40 when something was happening I was kind of like it was funny the first couple of times but then they just kept doing it and doing it and doing it and doing it but it was what it was what it was I did like Cameron Jamal I thought he was funny
Starting point is 00:24:56 it was cool to bring in this little short white guy with dreads trying to be black but he was a little funny because when he first came on on the scene in his scene and you just see a guy with a hoodie on, and you see Malcolm X posters on the wall,
Starting point is 00:25:14 and you hear that song, What's the word, Johannesburg? And kids all like, yeah, man, I got me. I got me someone cool, and then turn around, and he takes his hood off, and here's DeMall. Bean pie? I mean, shit like that. It was just goofy throughout the whole movie.
Starting point is 00:25:32 But the dude that got on my nerves the most was Christopher Judge. Miles. I don't know, man. I knew some shady motherfuckers. What's going on with his face? It looks not real. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:47 I just remember him from, um, was it Stargate? The TV show. Is that what he's doing? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Stargate SG1. Ah, yeah, this is the first thing I had seen him in.
Starting point is 00:26:00 Was I was party to and then, uh, he popped up in another, he was in Dark Night Rises. I don't know. but he just got on my nerves I hated him but I mean he he did his job as a character I mean he was the person you were supposed to hate
Starting point is 00:26:17 and that's what he did yeah his face looks weird I mean I'm not the greatest looking guy in the world sorry that's right I'm not the greatest looking guy in the world I'm the last one to be talking shit but I don't know man his face looked like a mask yeah it did not it looked artificial
Starting point is 00:26:32 but it's like who are you really really miles yeah it was funny it was good that uh full force was in it again i mean they every time they were on on the scenes it was funny um martin lawrence i thought he would like really went for it in this one and he was hell of funny every time he was on so i was in for it i mean they they tried to make uh it was a comedy straight out comedy kidding play comedy and of course i got to do the dance numbers and throw in as much music as you can.
Starting point is 00:27:09 But there was some times where it was serious because there was a scene in the beginning when they had a flashback to Robin Williams, Robin Williams. Rest in peace, Robin Williams. Robin Harris. A scene from the beginning of the first film. So I thought that was really cool. And cameo by Whoopi Goldberg. She just must have been friends with everyone because she was only in the beginning.
Starting point is 00:27:35 But overall, I mean, the whole movie was funny. I mean, I enjoy it. I mean, I watch it. I don't know. As soon as I got HBO Max, I think those are the first few movies that I watched with this house party movies. And I love this one.
Starting point is 00:27:50 I mean, I own all, I have all three of them, the first three on DVD. Still haven't tackled four yet, but I'll get to it. Yeah, I like this one. This one's hell of funny. Yeah, I'm with you there. Yeah, this one, this one's super funny. I'm not a fan of Jamal, Jamal Johnson. But yeah, I like everybody returning.
Starting point is 00:28:16 You know, they even have cameos of people from the, from the first one. Groove and Chill were back. Yeah. But chill wasn't as confrontational as he was bumping, bumping the DJ table this time. But I like groove back. He's no longer drinking. he was he was preaching everybody stopped drinking
Starting point is 00:28:38 uh muslim play continues to be the worst friend ever throughout the movie but he did come through at the end of this I know everyone everyone's got that that friend that's like play yeah and you've been you've been friends too long to just
Starting point is 00:28:58 just just got to deal with it yeah um I like full force as the campus security. It was much more believable than these grown men being in high school, like the first one. I felt like they gave Martin Lawrence a little bit more to do in this one. And I like that.
Starting point is 00:29:20 All the little celebrity cameos, you know, Queen Latifas or I'm not thought of Iman since probably around the time this movie came out. you got all the little performances from like Tony Tony Tony Rao Trezvan fucking Jamal I guess rocked the mic but
Starting point is 00:29:43 but yeah loved it loved the comedy in it it did have it serious moments got a little dark there at the end because Miles was about to go
Starting point is 00:29:57 rape Sydney he was trying to get a drunk and then take her upstairs yeah he was I was like wow, this turn dark real quick. I think the last thing I saw
Starting point is 00:30:08 you in was Star Trek Six of the Uniscovered Country. She was only in it for a little bit, but I think that was the last thing I've seen her in. She's somebody's got, I forgot who's going to play her because they're doing a LA Lakers series
Starting point is 00:30:26 about the team, about the fans and stuff like that. And they got, like, people to play, like, Jack Nicholson and Richard. Mike Epps is going to play Richard Pryor. And I forgot somebody's going to play. Yeah, but he was supposed to do the movie, but they never made it. So, but I guess he's going to do it for this.
Starting point is 00:30:48 And I forgot somebody was going to play Eman because I guess she was married to one of the Lakers at the time. Oh, I thought she was, uh, I know she was with David Bowie. because I was watching some old interviews with well not old a couple years old and they were talking to kid and they were asking
Starting point is 00:31:10 how did you guys get her? Well she just someone knew her and she said all right I'll do it so she did it and I guess at one of the premieres or the after parties she brought David Bowie and everyone flipped out like oh my god
Starting point is 00:31:25 Oh, and another thing, kid was saying that Martin Lawrence and Cameron, or however you say his name, they did not get along. They got into some fights. You kind of felt that with their characters. Yeah, I mean, I don't think Martin had started yet.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I think it might have started shortly after this unless it was already going. but I don't know that's all he said he goes I don't really know what they were fighting about but they were like oh they just hated each other they're always kind of just talking shit and then then it got physical a few times but um Martin started a year after this all right they needed them so they couldn't you couldn't fire them so but queen Latifah and Zora I mean I love queen Latifah I've seen her once perform at the she was awesome. I liked everything she's doing.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I'm still not caught up on Equalizer. Are you watching that? Put it on the back burner. I only watched the first couple episodes. I liked it, but... Yeah, I liked the first episode. I just, there's too many fucking shows out there. But, yeah, I like her.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I mean, this is in the beginning stages of her career, I would say. I don't know what her first movie was. I want to say juice, but I could be wrong. But this was earlier in her career. I know that. Let me see. She got 101 credits. She has a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 00:33:09 No, she did juice after this. So I guess she was in Jungle Fever. I have not seen that movie forever. I guess she did Jungle Fever first. And then this House Party, fresh prints and then juice all right I mean but I like what she's
Starting point is 00:33:28 which she's done I think she's a good she's a good actor she plays the roles that she is in this film she was basically herself at the beginning stages of her she was real positive on
Starting point is 00:33:43 on the histories of black black history she was always really into that and how she dressed herself her crown is what she always wore so it was good that she was like in this so I really
Starting point is 00:33:58 dug her character and she was she's always she's never played that I can think of a weak character she's always been a strong black woman in everything she has done
Starting point is 00:34:11 I've said this before my favorite role was her and set it off I thought she was yeah she was bad ass in that movie but I mean she she does what she does I mean you guys are watching equalizer
Starting point is 00:34:27 you know how rough and tough she is but this one I mean it was good I was wondering why Shrain wasn't in it she can go to college yeah I guess not she's stuck in the projects she never even came back in the third one
Starting point is 00:34:45 so I mean but I mean she's got her career and yeah man I'm looking at her pictures on Instagram I think man she's in hell a good shape
Starting point is 00:34:57 and she's like ripped so but um sure shrain was too busy raising Tyrese
Starting point is 00:35:05 I hate Tyrese I love baby boy and everything but he gets on my nerves I hate him anyway but I mean
Starting point is 00:35:18 this one was good I liked it how they they left high school graduated and kid wanted to go to college but play was still play he was out there just
Starting point is 00:35:28 hustling working at a record store and Balin was still just doing what he was doing and still DJ and a kid in Sydney go off to college did they say where they were where they were at let me look I don't think they ever said the name
Starting point is 00:35:46 and so keep saying college so Joe fictional college. Yeah, I don't, I'm not sure exactly where they went, but I assume this was all filmed in the Southern California area. But yeah, so kid and Sydney or go off to college, and then this is when they meet Queen Latifah, or the hell is her name. Zora.
Starting point is 00:36:13 They meet Zora. They meet Jemal. And how they bring in full force is their grandma or their mom. has them get jobs at the college and the security guards. But I loved how they came into it at first when a kid and, or not kid, play and Blower at the record store. And then she comes walking in,
Starting point is 00:36:39 say, I got my three boys and they need a job. Maybe they can work here at your record store. Maybe some big time producer come in and see them. And she's like, oh, they got the tapes. and then, hey, get in here. And then they, like,
Starting point is 00:36:54 you go, do that rap thing. And then Zilla's like, oh, no, we ain't auditioning for him. And then she's like, do it.
Starting point is 00:37:01 So they started doing it. Oh, man. I mean, I love Peewee. He's a little buddy. He starts to be boxing. And then Zilla comes in.
Starting point is 00:37:11 At least his, his rhymes were, they were goofy, but they made sense. But when Stab came in, he made no sense. Oh, his rob.
Starting point is 00:37:20 He was just saying words. And people was like, they were like, what's up with that? And he goes, man, that didn't even rhyme. It's dad was like this. It's the new stuff. I mean, but that was real, though, especially in the 90s. I mean, there was times maybe late 90s when, when hip hop, I mean, hip hop changes throughout the years. Sometimes it's changing in a matter of months.
Starting point is 00:37:46 But he did have that new style to where they were just saying anything. And it didn't make any sense. I mean, it didn't even rhyme half the time. But he was just a little bit too early. That scene was funny, but they didn't get the job. So that's when they ended up getting the job at the college of security guards. But again, we already talked about how kid met Jamal. I mean, that scene was funny.
Starting point is 00:38:18 But when kids there, oh, he got. he got his college tuition. Was that I wasn't a scholarship. Was it all donations from people at the church? Yeah, it was donations. Okay. That must have been a lot of donations,
Starting point is 00:38:35 because college ain't cheap. Yeah, they made it seem like Pops was like a well-liked guy, especially amongst the, you know, church and stuff like that in the community. So they, everybody wanted to pitch in to help out.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Yeah, so, I mean, that was at least cool, man. That was a good community to help a kid. I mean, obviously, kid had to earn his way into that college, but paying for it is another thing if you ain't got no scholarships. So I tell my wife, she got in the college. She got a bunch of student grants and scholarships and everything from school. I'm the dumb one that are two of us. I went to community college, but I was just like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:20 But don't listen to me, boys and girls. Go to school. Go to college. Don't be like me. So, yeah, he gets to school and then, oh, no, no, no, no. Before he goes off to school, plays, that's when that's when Imann's character comes in. Sheila Landra. She comes in, and she's supposed to be this big record executive or whatever.
Starting point is 00:39:46 And she likes kid and play and wants to produce their, their hours. But kids like, no, I got to go to school. I can't disappoint my dad. So he goes, that's you. So play is just, ah, he wants to do it because he's always wanted to do something in the music industry. But it just doesn't work out. So play ends up taking kid off to school. Kid at his scholarship check that he had, that he had in a play's car.
Starting point is 00:40:14 What was a car call? Foreplay. Yeah. I don't know. What was it up? I-Rog Z or not I rock Oh was it a 5.0 one of those cars I don't know what it was
Starting point is 00:40:26 Thinking of 5.0s man Do you ever have one of those No One Wanted one after men's society Oh yeah everyone everyone My friend had one and Party too hard and wrapped it around
Starting point is 00:40:45 Or hit a wall And then wrapped it around a pole Luckily, him and my other buddy, they both, they were all good. But another thing, boys and girls, don't drink and drive. You can crash your 5.0 into a wall. But, yeah, so he left his check in the back of a place car. And then when he gets to school, trying to pay for books. And that's when he realizes that his check bounced because he thought he had it.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Deadbeat, deadbeat, deadbeat. That was like I said, with the slap stickiness of this. I mean, they just kind of went for it with this one. And then I wouldn't go as far as calling these racial stereotypes that they did in this one. Especially with the Asian girl that it was talking to. I thought she was a little cutie. Yeah, they hit each other with the stereotypes. types.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Yeah, they did. Or even the, the, um, Middle Eastern guy when, when he was trying to pay for his, his fees and that guy with the accent and the turban and everything.
Starting point is 00:41:59 I was like, damn. Can you stick a credit card? I was like, shit. But, uh, everyone got attacked in this movie.
Starting point is 00:42:08 But then that's when he find out there's checks no good. And he, he just kind of has to remember, uh, where it was. And that's when he went, before play and realize that the play had his check but during all that um iman came back or uh shella landrell she came up crying with a sob story like there was a guy named rick that took all her
Starting point is 00:42:30 money and now she can't pay for anything so she wanted play to come up with the cash to uh for the front so they can get the studio and start the session and then play it's like i got no money and then he goes but I got this check and she was like, I'll take it and just took it out of his head. I like Balala in the background. That's fucked up. He was like, damn.
Starting point is 00:42:54 Can't do him like that. The boy needs an education. So that's what she's like. She just basically took the check and then Belai was like, man, that's cold. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:43:06 And then Bluley was like, well, fuck it. And then after all that, that's when Play was getting in his financial problems. His check wasn't cleared because he, other than he just forgot about it, he thought he put it in the bank.
Starting point is 00:43:20 That didn't work. And then he tried to go to the dean of the school and see if he can get an extension on just let me get my money and then I'll pay for everything. I'm waits for no one. Yeah, that guy, the deed was basically told him no or didn't say no, but all right, you better, you would get your ass in gear. And that's what he go. It's not a black thing. it's a deadbeat thing time waits for no man
Starting point is 00:43:49 peace oh that was when he met Miles and he was trying to be all cool like yeah man he goes you gotta know how to talk to these white guys and you know my brother and this and that and we got to do it for the black
Starting point is 00:44:07 and you could just see that Miles was a fucking snake yeah because I mean you can because when that one professor walked up like he changed up super quick yeah he's like oh how are you doing yeah i was like oh you can't trust this guy no but but he was like he was playing the role because when that white guy walked away he looked at him you see that's how you got to talk to these guys so i was like all right but then that's when play went back uh or a kid went back to see play was like where's my money and then play was like
Starting point is 00:44:42 man just i don't got it but But promise me you're not going to ill. And he was like, all right. And then he was, she'll got your money. And then he was like, what? Like when Bilal comes out, I'll tell you what he said, man. Sheila got your money. He goes, why does she got my money?
Starting point is 00:45:00 And he goes, well, that's when he tried to explain to him about the whole Rick stuck her up for the money. And I had to pay for the session. And once you know the business, you'll understand what's going on. He was trying to come up with all these excuses. Well, that was all the shit that Sheila said to him. But Belize was like, he goes, man, what was he saying? He told him that his money was gone.
Starting point is 00:45:28 He goes, man, he fucked you and didn't even kiss you. That was all funny. And he was just like, oh, man. I mean, yeah, for all the shit the play got kid into and doing them dirty like that basically just stealing however thousands of dollars that that check was yeah because he he goes as far as like
Starting point is 00:45:52 I'm not the irresponsible one that left the check with me in the first place and I was like wow because uh Bilau was still going off and there every time playing and they were like shut the fuck up belal they did uh then they go all right so they the next day they go to the studio
Starting point is 00:46:10 uh I think it was like doomy records or something like that And then Balao was like, man, this is a front. That place is gutted out. So they go up to the little phone day. They can play like, hey, my name is Play. And I'm here to cut a record with Sheila Landry. She's like, who?
Starting point is 00:46:28 I never heard of that. I never heard of her. And they're like, fuck, man. What are you going to do? Because that's when Bilal was like, oh, man, I see. I told you. And they were like, come on, let's go. And as they were trying to walk off, that's when full force and then show up.
Starting point is 00:46:42 And Pee was like, you'll play. When are we going to cut our record? It's like, he goes, what do you mean your record? He goes, what the fuck you guys talking about? And Zela's like, who are you talking to like that? And that's what the stab comes in? He goes, wait a minute. And he goes, Sheila said that you got our money to make our record.
Starting point is 00:47:01 And then plays like, what? And then Balau was like, damn, it sounds like she fucked all of you. And then walked away. And then the day a tow truck comes. is getting ready to steal, or take, repossess Sheila's car. And they're like, oh man, they're taking her car. And then here come the
Starting point is 00:47:22 cops. And it was one of the cops from the first one. The other one that lived. Yeah, the one that survived. And then the other cop was a young black gentleman. And then they go, how, we finally
Starting point is 00:47:38 caught the poor Steelers or whatever he said. And the black cop goes, yes. And they're all black. The white office is like he goes he goes we knew it or some shit like that. Some some racist stuff, but they, uh, the black cop is kind of like, yeah, he goes, well, you guys, uh, know not to take money from, uh, Sheila Landryal and she started naming all these other, uh, other names.
Starting point is 00:48:05 So the other white cop comes on with you, you and you, today's your lucky day. Beat it. So play, kid and play in, uh, Bilau. go walking off but then he goes not you three you guys take it right down town
Starting point is 00:48:18 so and then this is when the kid and a player kind of just mad at each other and then Bilal's just talking hell of shit
Starting point is 00:48:27 like man and he goes man I hope he goes I hope you didn't get no pussy man because that shit could be lethal
Starting point is 00:48:32 he was just telling her like man he goes can I ask you something gonna ask you something he goes what you feel real stupid don't you
Starting point is 00:48:40 and he goes and look at this motherfucker when he was pointing a kid and he went ass out no money no no college education he was just going off and that's what play was like well it's not my fault for uh him leaving his check out laying around and then they got in a big old fight so we boys we boys i was just fucking around we boys they're both kid and player both beat up and then that's when belal i was like hey man he goes you you need you to ask the bank And he was like what?
Starting point is 00:49:14 And he goes, ask Sidney. He goes, their family. He goes rich. And they own mini malls. So that's when a kid goes and asks Sydney for money. Or he didn't ask her for money. He was like, can we talk? And then when you say that to whoever you're going out with,
Starting point is 00:49:30 they just immediately go to the, oh, is this a talk? We're going to break up. And that's what they ended up doing. He didn't ask her for money. He just couldn't do it. but um so but kid was still trying to figure out how to get money um jemal was helping him out by uh going in there getting uh the books he needed for class and and giving him food because he couldn't even get couldn't even get couldn't get into anywhere without his student ID but
Starting point is 00:49:58 he wasn't a student because he didn't even pay for it he was just kind of squatting in the dorms while he was trying to get everything together um i like to see when uh uh full four four And the boys and them show up at the college and then they're in their security. And then the Jamal and him hit her walking along. And then one of the guys grabbed, I think it was stab, grabbed kid. And he goes, yo man, he goes, I smell something. You smell it. And what I do.
Starting point is 00:50:29 I smell pussy. And they're like holding him up. And that's what Jamal come in. Yo, man, he goes, you're just using your power authority against another brother. So what's up with that? his stab goes, who is this? Your girlfriend? I don't care well, man. Jamal was down. He goes, what, you want to throw joints or something?
Starting point is 00:50:49 Oh, man. Yeah, he didn't, he didn't fare too well against full force, though. No, because that's what Zilla works. He goes, what? He goes, come on, man, it's time for us to tell what to tell these motherfuckers what time it is. He grabs Jamal, just clocks him. That's what I talk about being slapstick. Because when he punches Jamal,
Starting point is 00:51:10 Jamal goes, whoa, flies off the tree. And then he grabbed kid and punches him. And he goes, he goes flying off the other way. But play, he went to a couple classes. But they're not checking. Well, I was thinking, if he didn't pay yet, how did he have the teacher know his name? because I'm sure you've got to put your,
Starting point is 00:51:41 when you're registered, I mean, after you pay, then you're officially a student, but, I mean, that guy, I guess he didn't care. I think they would notify the professors, like, you know, this guy's not supposed to be here. Because when they were in, I think it was black history class. Jamal and a kid, they're in the back, just kind of cutting up. Yeah, Professor Sinclair.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Yeah, played by Was it George Stanford Brown? Yep Was he in SWAT? No, he was in the rookies And in a bunch of other movies It was an old 70s cop show
Starting point is 00:52:20 That was the first thing I'd seen him And then he was in a bunch of other movies and TV shows But anyway Yeah, so they were sitting there talking And then I was a professor Sinclair He goes, yeah, Mr. Robinson Can you tell me what Malcolm X's philosophy was.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Oh, no, no. It wasn't that one. That was the second class. What did he ask him? I think it was. Yeah. The philosophy of Malcolm X. Because that's when he went.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Malcolm X was pro-black. Very pro-black. And within his... In his pro-blackness. Oh, yeah. he's in the white man and he goes or he was talking about and the white guy is was not very pro-black so did some something that nature and then that's when he was like oh and he goes well this one's mr sinclair said he goes well can you guys mr robin is saying uh can you guys
Starting point is 00:53:28 say white devil and then everyone kind of started laughing he goes well you know what he goes why don't we ask one of these uh white devils Ask the one that the white devils are sitting right next to you. And he goes, and I know I'm scared of you, Mr. Johnson. Jamal Johnson. And he was like Malcolm X, he goes, I guess when he came back from Mecca, he was like, he wanted, he wanted, what did you say? I think he wanted all the brotherhood. Yeah, he embraced the brotherhood of all races.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Yeah. He embraced the brotherhood of all men. And then it was, oh, well, it looks like someone had their pre-class reading. So that's when he did that. Why don't you meet me after class to kid? And then explain to him. Remember what he said to him was pretty deep. And he told him, because he was telling him, look, man, he goes, he obviously earned your way here. He goes, but you got to prove to yourself that you belong here. don't uh mean don't don't give me this this sob story of
Starting point is 00:54:40 you can't get forward because you're black and you go anyone can can get ahead in life and by going to school and all that that's what I said boys and girls go to school unless you win the lottery or something but anyway so but he always had a good
Starting point is 00:54:56 he had always had a good philosophy on what to say because he was he was talking about look man he goes these these rich white kids are here because of rich and he goes, you have to be better than them and let them know,
Starting point is 00:55:13 you are at this school because you earned it, not because you're black. Because, I mean, because one of my buddies, he went through all that. He's Native American. He had, I don't know why, but he did have to prove himself that he earned his way into UC Berkeley. He wasn't rich. He came from the reservation
Starting point is 00:55:32 from poverty and everything. But yeah, he got scholarships, but he was like an eight student when he was in school. So he did earn his way there. And I can't remember. I know he went to graduate school and all that and he got his master's degree and something. I don't remember. He told me, but I don't remember. He's out there doing good for himself right now.
Starting point is 00:55:51 So it was good for him to get through college. And that's what kid was trying to do. Other he was trying to do it for himself. He was trying to do it for his dad because I believe he was saying kid was going to be the first person to go to college. in their family. So he didn't want to let his dad down. So during all kids, his shenanigans trying to get his financial stuff straight,
Starting point is 00:56:15 he ended up, did working. And I'm going back to that again. I mean, they knew, I mean, the dean of the school was giving him that little extra leeway to try to get his financial stuff in, but I don't think they would let you go to class or live in the dorms.
Starting point is 00:56:34 if you didn't pay for it. Her rules are pretty loose here at this college. Yes, though. That's when he meets... Mr. Lee. Yeah, Duke from Rocky. As soon as I seen him, the first thing that popped in my head was,
Starting point is 00:56:50 Don't the damn towel, man. Oh, man. I don't know why he was wearing the cap, the hair net or the hair cap. Everybody wears one. He didn't have no hair. Everybody. He's all about the rules.
Starting point is 00:57:09 I liked his because his was gold. It looked like a shower cap. He made kid wear one and you guys know kid with his high top feet. It just didn't even touch his head. It was just all on his hair. It'll look stupid. You saying I look stupid? So he was trying to do that.
Starting point is 00:57:30 And he was still able to go to class because, um, Mr. Sinclair, he told kid that he had to write a paper on I can't remember what he told him to write it on. But I guess it was obviously a paper for class so kid was doing that while I was trying to work
Starting point is 00:57:49 and play was still like, all right, man, he was feeling bad that he should try to at least help kid out earn that money to pay for his college tuition. That's when kid was coming up. when our play was coming up and causing all kinds of stuff problems. Yeah, he felt bad after that moment.
Starting point is 00:58:09 He had with Bilal in the record store. Beli was paying for those records. And he was like, what's so with the extra ends? And he was like, sometimes we got to pay what we owe. I know, man. Because the first time when Beli was in there, when he had all that big stack of records and. $20 worth.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Yeah, he played gave him that discount for $20. And it wasn't even his $20 he paid for. He was a plays $20. Yeah. So play and the Balala were up there. I did like this scene though when they were playing dice. And then Kit came walking in and Jamal. And this is when Jamal and Balala almost got into it.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Because they were playing dice. I mean, was Jamal really just hamming it up for the, for the, the camera or I want to know does he really act like this? I don't know, because I've seen him in interviews and everything when young black teenagers were big. And he did the way he was sounding in this and the way he presented himself,
Starting point is 00:59:18 that's how he was in interviews. I don't know if it was, if it was real, did he really grow up like that? Or was he just fronting? And he was this, this character. I know you get beat up.
Starting point is 00:59:32 for snatching the money like that. Oh, yeah. They finally came over the plan and goes, man, we gotta have, he goes, I got to figure out a way to make money. And they're like, what? And he goes, we'll have a house party. Or he said, the mother of house party is a pajama jammy jam. And it was like, what?
Starting point is 00:59:52 You're going to have a bunch of those. You have motherfuckers come in here paid and see a bunch of girls half naked. And he's like, no, I'm not with it. And he got mad and left. But all of his stuff. up financial stuff was coming on on on kid and he wasn't able to do anything without his little college ID so that's when he was like all right man fuck it yeah that's when uh miles you found that miles it took his money because he was supposed to hook it out uh black yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:00:19 have have someone uh change some some records around and on the computer and that didn't happen no he basically just took his money yeah and he's trying to take his girl because he went up to went up to Sydney, he was like, yeah, I know this guy, he was talking about how his girl wasn't giving up the rhythm. And I knew I had to meet this girl. I was like, wow. That was a snake and a half, man. He was talking shit. He still tried to get in there.
Starting point is 01:00:51 So, yeah, so they like, all right, they figure out the only place they can have it is where kid was working at the faculty, the faculty dining hall. it's always like man you just get the key and we'll do it so we're like our kid was like all right so they ended up getting it and um but when they were when they found out when everyone was going was going around a kid in below and jamal were telling everyone up trying to get everyone to come to this party that's when um full force and those guys found out
Starting point is 01:01:24 so they knew that you're not supposed to throw big uh parties like this without a school say so. My mom found out first. Oh, that's right. She was like, I don't even go to the damn school. How do I know? Of course, one undercover. They had to give permission to use that place.
Starting point is 01:01:45 So they were just trying to figure out where it was going to happen and everything. But now the party comes and they just fill this place. And I guess they were trying to be secret and keep the whole thing on the under. But there's no way. could have done that. Not this party. And I take it there was only three security guards on this whole university campus. Well,
Starting point is 01:02:10 it was full force. Yeah, but when you cut to the end, there was like one or two other security guards with them. So I don't know if they were just off or they don't work that part of the campus or what. Yeah, I don't know. So, yeah, that's when
Starting point is 01:02:32 Full Force and then we're still trying to Figure out where they were going or where this party was happening So maybe they would get a if they Report it maybe they get a promotion or some shit But yeah, once the party was going everyone having a good time And that's when we saw groove and chill make their cameos Who was the guy that was counting the money? He's a somebody I can't remember his name
Starting point is 01:03:00 name. I don't like how IMDB changed up the website. I want to say he's a producer. Was he one of the directors? I've seen him in other things. Yeah, now. It's just going to bother me now. Yeah. It'll bug me until I
Starting point is 01:03:32 see who he. was. Man, I don't like this. How IMDB has it all set up now on the regular website, not the phone stuff. Yeah, he's a someone.
Starting point is 01:03:54 I've seen him in other things and I want to say he he's somebody in the music industry. Somebody let us know. Yeah, I mean, it'll come to me eventually. But yeah, so everyone's having the party throwing down.
Starting point is 01:04:23 Ralph T was up there singing first and getting two big musical names at this time and then trying
Starting point is 01:04:35 to keep this party quiet I assume can play new these new Ralph T for those you don't know
Starting point is 01:04:42 Ralph Tres van from a new edition but at this time he was doing solo stuff and getting Tony Tony Tony to come in
Starting point is 01:04:49 okay yeah you guys know Tony Tony Toney Tony, which you got to go through this other chick to try to get a record contract. Yeah, I'm just like, all right, man, whatever. Them still try to just have their party and have a good time. And you've got to be good friends with them because, I mean, are they getting the cut?
Starting point is 01:05:13 Are they doing this just off of the love or what? I don't know. Maybe they sold them a sob store like, hey, man, we're trying to raise money for kids and go to college and they're like, all right, whatever. But I've been to big college ragers like this and big giant rooms and there have been bands and everything there, but not a pajama party or whatever. But I'm like, there's no way they can keep this party quiet other than the music that allowed and band, live bands are louder than a DJ. But I don't know. Maybe this was on the other end of the campus where nobody was at.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Yeah, so they, of course, they got to win that during the party, they got to have their dance scene. Can play battle, Tisha, Tia, Sydney and. Random girl. So, yeah, random girl. And luckily that random girl knew the dance routine that Sydney knew. Come on, girl, let's do this. I was like, where was she this whole movie?
Starting point is 01:06:18 And you guys were, like, in sync with your moves. But I like it. I love when we see kid and play dance and everything. But that's when Miles shows up and he's trying to cock block a kid from Sydney. Because kid tries to go up to Sydney, like, come on, you want to dance? You want to dance? Or just be cooler, but yeah, yeah, Miles slid right in there, a little snake. Because, Sydney saw a kid hugging on the little Asian guy.
Starting point is 01:06:52 girl I can't remember her name. He was hugging on her. But it was only like a friend hug. I mean, because he was happy that he was going to be able to stay in school. Because everyone was paid to get into this party. But then, oh, after that, dance scene, Tony, Tony, Tony was playing then. And this is when Balo told a kid to play to get up there and show everyone what they can do. And that's when Jamal came in.
Starting point is 01:07:21 What's up? and he goes, give me the mic. And it was like, no, man, he ain't giving you nothing. And that's what he goes,
Starting point is 01:07:27 come on, man, he plays dice. He likes big booties and eats bean pie. Let's see what he can do. Either they just turn the volume down on Jamal, because you could like,
Starting point is 01:07:38 you can hear them, but you could like barely hear them. But, I don't know. Again, different style, totally two different styles of emceeing. At this time,
Starting point is 01:07:50 Jamal was, whatever shit when did this come out this early 90s yeah not 91 yeah 91 way early that was the style I just looked up young black teenagers they only put out two albums I don't know what happened to them
Starting point is 01:08:08 the first album was just young black teenagers and 91 93 was dead end kids doing lifetime bids I couldn't even tell you what those were I guess on the first album their hit was loud and hard to hit. No, that was the name of the...
Starting point is 01:08:29 No, no, that was the name of the song. And then the single, tap the bottle, and then roll with the flavor off of the dead-end kids. You gotta mention one of the standout tracks, proud to be black? I forgot all about that. Look of young black teenagers. If you guys want to hear more.
Starting point is 01:08:56 Different time. Yeah, way different times. Tap the bottle is the only song. The only hook is what I remember in that one. So they're up there part in and all that having a good time. But this is when kids up there on stage, he looks down and sees Miles giving Sidney Booze. And she's like, she didn't want it at first.
Starting point is 01:09:18 He's like, yeah, come on. And then he kind of went up to her earlier. And it goes, because she's, when Sydney was looking at Kid, that's when Miles came up. Because this is when kid was talking to that one little Asian girl. And then that guy goes, remember,
Starting point is 01:09:34 if you ain't giving up the rhythm, the boy ain't interested. Shut up, Miles. I never heard that term except for it in this movie. Giving up the rhythm. I never heard that. We bring that word back, everybody. For you young listeners.
Starting point is 01:09:53 we're going to start saying it off from now on. But anyway, so this is when Miles, again, with the goofiness, kids looking at Miles and then Miles, he's kind of smiling, that evil smile, and then he turns into a wolf. Yeah, like a wolf head on. I was like, oh, okay. And again, this is when it turned into the slap,
Starting point is 01:10:17 slap stickiness, because kid goes running after Miles to, to whoop his ass. And then while Kid was or play was up there This is when he noticed That Rick and that Sheila Landryl chick were there Because they were supposed to meet up
Starting point is 01:10:34 With Queen Latifika Or Zora because later Early on in the film there was a scene When Zora was up there rapping At a black awareness rally Because they were trying to I guess the university Was going to cut funding to all the black studies
Starting point is 01:10:50 So they wanted to get be that have that awareness of this going on and everyone i guess they were going to vote on or some shit but um play saw them and they goes hey there's a guy that stole money so they go running after play goes running after rick uh zora knocked out uh Sheila landra al iman um kid goes running after miles because he he's was going to go rape Sydney upstairs and then it just got all stupid. Full force too. They jumped in. They finally got to the party and it went to this motherfucker right there.
Starting point is 01:11:27 So they're also chasing Rick. And they're running around room to room being all stupid. But it was still funny. I thought this was a faculty dining hall. Why are their bedrooms and stuff? Faculty gets tired. Maybe they need a nap area. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:49 I did like that one guy, that big guy made a cameo again. Yeah. I don't know why Play ran into that room and then jumped under a bed. But okay, well, play was under the bed. If you guys remember in that first one, when that one big dude was killing it, when Play was watching him in the window, he made his cameo on this.
Starting point is 01:12:14 He was killing it again. They didn't show it this time. he just heard the noise and yeah baby yeah who's pussy is this sorry ladies that's what they said in the movie but the bed is jumping up and down and key or plays under they're getting smashed and then he finally gets out and again that guy pulls out his gun and everyone goes tearing out of that room and he's firing at him and all that so uh play chases um miles up to the roof uh and they're getting ready to fight and then I like what
Starting point is 01:12:47 kid goes he goes man this is for the black and he swings and Miles catches his weak ass
Starting point is 01:12:53 punch they end up getting into a big fight up there um play and then finally catch Rick they knock him out
Starting point is 01:13:03 but then uh play ends up on miles and then Miles falls through
Starting point is 01:13:12 this uh skylight or whatever And that was a long drop, man. And he fell right onto a cake. Yeah, cake broke his fall. Yeah, I don't know why you're having a big giant cake at this party, but all right. It's a pajama jammy jam.
Starting point is 01:13:30 Kind of have the big cake. He falls on that and then he's knocked out. Play and Kid are up there at the top going, yeah. And did play knock kid off the roof? No, a kid. he, because he had Mr. Lee's bat, and he stepped on the bat, and he fell over the ledge. Yeah, and then caught him. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:55 Oh, he grabbed him right by the underwear, because he was holding it by the strap, and the kid was about to fall to his death, but he pulled him up. Evil is punished. Miles has got his ass beat, and he's knocked out downstairs. But then Duke showed up. or Mr. Lee. He's Duke. Yeah. He showed up and everyone, everyone pretty much got out there.
Starting point is 01:14:23 But then Mr. Lee was like, who said you can have this party here? And then he kind of explained it. And, uh, but all the money that he took or they, that they made from the party, he gave to Mr. Lee like, here, this should cover all the damages. And play was like, oh, man, that money was for you. And he's like, nah, it's all right. So. Mr. Lee was like, well, you having problems, man.
Starting point is 01:14:46 Why don't you come to me? And he's like, I couldn't. Um, at this, at this point, they, there was, our kid finally realized that he, he wasn't going to be able to go to school. Because he had to give that money to Mr. Lee, to pay for all the damages. Um, he goes to see Professor Sinclair before he leaves. And he told him, look, man, I'm going to go work, get some money together. I'll be back.
Starting point is 01:15:15 But this part was pretty deep because he told him Mr. Sinclair looked at him like, oh man, he goes, you know you're not coming back. He goes, he's heard this story many times. I mean,
Starting point is 01:15:28 and that's true, though. I mean, because even some of my friends, like they went to school and then financial issues happened. And they're like, I will be back. We'll be back once we get everything straight.
Starting point is 01:15:38 And then they never go back. So that, I mean, this scene was pretty powerful because Mr. Professor Sinclair, he knew that he had seen this many times before. And he just, he goes, well, just prove me wrong. Hopefully you will come back. And he got a, got an A minus on his paper.
Starting point is 01:15:58 So he proved that he did belong there. Yeah. But he goes, I gave you A minus for the coffee stain. That was on his papers. So, oh, kid. No, he A kid Kid was getting ready to leave
Starting point is 01:16:19 Because he got all the stuff packed up But then he rolled downstairs And play was there And then play game here Here's your money You go be Joe college Here's your money And he's like
Starting point is 01:16:31 Where'd you get this money from? He sold his car He sold for play You sold for play I don't know what kind of car That was And I don't know how much of cost Let's just say 20,000
Starting point is 01:16:41 Maybe I bet That might be I might be Talking a little much for that car, but I don't know how much school is either, especially in, let's say, 90, when they filmed this, but I'm sure it wasn't 20,000. It might have been more. I don't know. I mean, I guess I can ask my wife, but again, even when she was going to college, it was probably
Starting point is 01:17:02 a lot then, but it's probably a million times more now. But, so kid was able to go to finally pay for his tuition and then go to school. So he actually didn't leave. So I thought that was a good ending. And that was that's your movie right there. Yep. How long did he go to college? We'll find out, I guess. I don't know. Yeah, because where did this third one come out?
Starting point is 01:17:37 Third one came out in 94. So three years later. That's about enough time, I guess. Yeah, I mean, I don't know what what he was majoring in because I mean that scene when they were trying to pick the classes him in Sydney
Starting point is 01:17:53 he didn't even care man he was just trying to trying to get his but yeah overall I thought the movie was funny again yeah they did go little slap sticky but I mean
Starting point is 01:18:05 it was still was what it was I mean I enjoy it each time I watch it and laugh but um anything else on this thing no
Starting point is 01:18:16 check it out especially if you got HBO Max your pick man we got to finish I don't know if we're going to finish completely but we're going to finish it with this kid and play trilogy and we'll be back next week
Starting point is 01:18:33 with House Party 3 yeah I think we'll stop there because I just found out looking on Wikipedia there's a fifth movie titled House Party Tonight's the Night and I'm looking at the cast list and I recognize nobody.
Starting point is 01:18:49 I came out in 2012. Wait. A fifth installment and direct follow-up to the third film, titled House Party to Nights to Night was filmed in 2012. The film was a direct DVD release in 2013 and also marked the return of Kid and Play to the series. I've never heard of this movie.
Starting point is 01:19:22 Okay. 2012? Is that what you said? Yeah. Made in 2012, released in 2013. Hmm. I don't see.
Starting point is 01:19:38 And the cover looks like something I would never watch. What is it called? House Party. What? House Party, Tonight's the Night. Oh, here.
Starting point is 01:19:50 this. Yeah. Man, you're going to make me watch this one too? Who are these people in this movie? Dequan Richmond. He looks familiar. Oh, that's, um, Chris, everybody hates Chris, his older brother. Now, is that what he did after the show? Yeah. Okay, I know who that kid is.
Starting point is 01:20:25 Who else is in this? I don't know any of these people in it. Is it streaming anywhere? Are you going to make me watch this one too? I'll be checked. I hope not. I'm still going to watch four. I just have to.
Starting point is 01:20:51 House party. Let's see. Not on Amazon. House party, tonight's to night, HBO Max. It's on that? Yeah. Oh, well, then I got to watch part four. You're going to do the deep dive, huh?
Starting point is 01:21:19 Yeah, I'm going to do you, man. Like you always do. You watch everything. Oh, man. Damn it, I guess I'll do it too. We'll do a brief one on that one. Yeah. We'll briefly talk about four
Starting point is 01:21:37 And five Yeah, I've never seen four I knew there was there I didn't even Geez part five I've never even heard of this How does this? Well I mean it's direct to DVD
Starting point is 01:21:49 I guess It's not even like Kid and Play presents All right Well this is a house party tonight Chris is ready to head to college But he'll leave his best friend And the girl
Starting point is 01:22:05 he's had a crush on since second grade. So he throws one last party that turns into a into a hilarious disaster. Okay. All right. Kind of sounds like, what was that one when they had that big ass rager? Oh, Projector.
Starting point is 01:22:22 Yeah. That was awesome. Matthew Broder going. Oh, no. I like that one, too. Young Academy Award winner, Helen Hunt. Speaking of Helen,
Starting point is 01:22:35 Hunt. You saw blind spotting, didn't you? The movie? Yeah, yeah. Are you watching the show? I just found out about it. So did I. I was like, I think I was on YouTube and one of the ads came up and I was just like
Starting point is 01:22:50 kind of watching it and then the dude that was the best friend of the main guy pops up. And then it says blind spotting and I was like, what the hell? Yeah. I got to check this out. I watched the first episode. I mean, it's okay what it is I mean they filmed some of it in Oakland and then you can clearly see other parts of it ain't so um all right I mean I love the movie I thought the movie was
Starting point is 01:23:17 awesome it did make my best of list whatever year that came out um from what I understand what does they mean in it um I mean that's fine I mean they're telling a whole different story now so yeah it what the hell is uh, Johan on blackish, uh, what the hell's his name? The,
Starting point is 01:23:44 God damn it. Uh, I think he was, um, fuck. I'm pulling it up right now. David digs. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:23:57 David digs. Yeah, he's, he's not in it. I think only he's not in. I, from what I understand it's because he was filming it or he's doing that, um,
Starting point is 01:24:05 that one on the train. Uh, snow piercing. Yeah, he's in that. So. Yeah, it's,
Starting point is 01:24:10 it's about the, and the wife or the girlfriend, right? Yeah, it's about the white guy in the movie. What the hell was his name? He was Raphael Casel. Yeah, what was his name, though? He's in the movie. Miles.
Starting point is 01:24:30 Miles, yeah. The episode I saw, he's in it for like a little bit, but it's basically he goes off to prison or to jail, and then this is the story of his wife. and his baby's mama trying to I guess survive make things work
Starting point is 01:24:51 yeah and while he's while he's away so I mean David Diggs and Raphael Cassell they're both producers executive producers of it so
Starting point is 01:25:01 I want to say there's only been three episodes so far because Theo was the one that told me about it and I was like what so I had to check it out yeah right now
Starting point is 01:25:13 there's just three episodes. Yeah. What I saw, the first episode, I thought it was pretty good. I'm definitely going to finish it out.
