Just when I thought we were going to be good friends, huh?
All right.
There's something wrong with this guy.
What's wrong with you?
I said just ice your ass right now.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Why?
Because they dance with one of your boyfriends?
That's some funny stuff.
Oh, yeah.
If I ever catch you near Frankie again,
I'll take you out so fast,
you won't even have time to spit.
Back, everybody.
to another episode of
THR Present Stream Feans.
I'm your host Brian
and with me as always
is my brother,
Nez.
What's up, man?
Yo,
um,
back with a somewhat better movie.
You guys listen to the action returns.
Amityville's cranking out the hits.
Yeah,
they are.
Well,
this was your pick,
so let them know.
This is 1985.
tough turf.
And nothing, but not the music.
Where's he from?
Not the school.
Whoa.
Not the girl.
Things you don't understand.
An enlightening.
Ever catch you near Frankie again?
Take you out so fast.
To get what he was.
Morgan Hill is going to take this town apart.
Tough turd.
Read it on.
Now playing.
Check local listing.
Let's see what Google has to say.
the new guy in Los Angeles high school does some singing and fights a hot shot over a disco dancer
that's what it says
an IMDB the new kid in the school must battle a gang of street tuffs after stealing a gang
leader's girl okay that sounds a little bit better yeah it's way better
this stars of course James Spader Kim Richards
Paul
Moynes
Monet
Monique
Matt Clark
Claudette Nevins
Robert Downey
not junior
it is junior
but he wasn't junior at the time
Olivia
Barash
and
a bunch of other people
this was written by
Fritz Kyrsch
or directed by
Fritz Kyrsch
written by
And Jet Rink, Greg Collins, O'Neill, and Murray Michaels.
Oh, Ness.
When was the first time you seen Tough Ter?
I saw this one that came out.
Nice.
It was one of those movies that's, hey, there's a new 80s movie.
Let's go see it.
What got me into the theater was at this time, I didn't know who James Spader was.
It's not like for you younger kids
That know him as Ultron and blacklist
And whatever that show he's on
What got me in the theater was Kim Richards
For those you that remember
She is she is a Disney kid
She was in those escape to which mountains
Return from Which Mountain
And then the car
She was in that with her sister Kyle
and a bunch of other films.
So she was pretty much a kid star.
So I was like,
oh,
yeah,
now she's older.
I always thought she was cute in the Disney films.
She's older than me.
So I was a little kid when I first saw.
But when I saw,
oh, my God,
I saw the poster and she's in this.
I was like,
God damn,
she grew up.
So I was all about it.
And then so I went and seen it.
And I liked it for what it was.
And I didn't know who Robert Downey was.
I mean, or James Spader.
And I was like, all right, cool.
But after watching it, I have not watched this movie in a really long time.
I forgot some of the stuff that I didn't like that was in this.
And that was a lot of it.
But overall, I took it for what it was.
I did like the whole, those street tufts of L.A.
and the new kid coming around.
And then, yeah, I mean, that's all hell breaks.
loose.
When did you first see this one?
A couple days ago.
Oh,
it's always been like one of those movies that I probably should have seen and just
never got around to.
And I was like,
fuck it.
Found it on Amazon.
I was like,
let's do it.
I had a good time with it.
I enjoyed it.
I thought the characters were good.
You get a little bit of everything in this movie.
There's a little bit of comedy,
a little bit of romance,
a little bit of action
just a movie gets dark
near the end
you know people people's father's
getting shot other people's fathers getting beat up
obsessive boyfriend
played by
was Paul Monet
Monnez
yeah
Nick Houser which that guy just went
zero to 100
instantly over the smallest thing
It was good seeing
young
Robert Downey Jr. in here.
He was kind of the comedic relief.
Kim Richards
was looking good.
I don't know.
It was something about that long hair
that she had long hair down to her butt.
That long crimped hair.
80s style.
I didn't like it when she changed it
for the little dinner date
at the parents' house.
I was like he didn't go back to the crimp.
I don't want the bad.
I don't want the Disney's camera chicks.
I could have probably did without the dance sequences because they were kind of,
they were kind of weird,
especially when the street tuffs as IMDB puts it started was dancing and
gyrating.
I was like,
you guys are not looking really tough right now.
And some of that kind of stuff,
I just, and it was kind of weird.
Some of them didn't seem like they was from L.A.
or California at all.
Seemed like they was New York Street Tuffs.
Well, Nick and Frankie didn't seem like they were from L.A.
It seemed like they were from New York.
Yeah.
Especially Nick and how he talked in his presentation.
Yeah.
And I couldn't be in this high school.
I couldn't.
I couldn't be picked on by these street tuffs.
Just some of the shit they was doing it wouldn't even fly.
Yeah, I'd be fighting fools every day.
But yeah, it was a fun watch.
And I know there's a Blu-ray out there and it's going to be in my collection after this watch.
Oh, it is.
All right.
Well, I guess I'll get it too.
For those of you do have Amazon, it's on there.
And if you don't, everyone's got YouTube.
It's on there as well.
well. It's on 2B2.
So, but you don't want any commercials, Amazon and YouTube is your best fit.
But let me read the poster really quick. Meet Morgan Hiller. He's always been a rebel.
Now he's about to become a hero, tough turf, where reputations are earned.
I don't think I want my reputation earned in this school because these guys were killing me.
but shout out to
Donald
Full in love
I think fully love
He was
He played Howard
Those of you might know him as Mayor
Goldie Wilson
Yeah
From back to the future
Yeah like one scene in this movie
Yeah
And Olivia Barash
She was
What's his name's girlfriend
And Repo Man
And she was
Emilio.
Yeah, Emilio.
She was even in a bunch of other films.
Matt Clark as well.
I mean, he's been in a billion movies as well.
He's, his career's long.
And I like that he was in.
I hated Morgan's mom, Paige.
Or his brother.
Oh.
His a yuppie brother driving around on a BMW or whatever.
Oh, the one that was going to law school.
Yeah, and I'm like, come on, man, you can't help your family out that helped you.
Your dad's driving a taxi cab and they're like struggling, but...
Which I like, they didn't tell you that right away.
Yeah.
That the dad was driving a taxi because I was wondering, this guy's kind of lounging around in pajamas a lot.
And then you come to find out he's working nights as a cab driver.
Yeah, this film, I mean, other than the street top.
we see Nick and Frankie and the gang and they're all just doing what street tubs do and then in the main streets of LA
just robin fools for whatever just to to be tough what's his name was in this as well he played
what the hell's his name he was from American me he was a young version of a
um
edward james almost
i know what you're talking about
yeah he was one of the um
one of nix street tough guys
he was a little mexican dude
yeah he was believable
yeah
uh
i can buy nick if he was in
if this if this was based in new york i could
I could have bought his character a little more
but um
the parts that I didn't care for the dance scenes,
especially the one at the end when the credits were rolling.
I mean, these are little teenagers,
and they're just rolling into bars and clubs like it's nothing.
And but James Bader, I think they were like a more upper class,
but then they fell on hard times with the family because he was,
we find out that he did go to private schools.
but then his dad's business went under,
so that's why they moved to,
they,
they were saying a bad neighborhood,
it didn't look bad to me.
Yeah,
they also said he,
every school he went to,
he got trouble in.
Yeah,
because it was just schools
that they were making him go to,
because he said,
I don't want to go to any of those schools.
Uh,
his brother's the,
the hero or whatever.
He's going to law school and living a good life.
And,
uh,
his mom seems to be more,
uh,
that's her favorite.
favorite and Morgan is just the black sheep of the family.
But what I loved about his dad, his dad was still cool with him.
He didn't, he wasn't on him like his mom was.
Like, you need to be good.
You need to be like your brother.
Basically, and that's how much he's doing.
But yeah, he gets to a new school.
And he kind of meets the street tough.
So he actually gets into it with one of them, Nick and the gang.
they're trying to
were they trying to rob someone
and then yeah they were doing the
Frankie was like the decoy
well that's right being the the pretty
girl asking for change or something
and they were gonna essentially
just sneak up on them with with the switch blades
and take his money
yeah well that guy kind of deserved
he's starting to be a creep
because Frankie's standing there
holding her books or school books
and he's looking looking at her up and down
and all that
So you can rob this guy.
He's a creep.
But while they're roughing him up, this is when Morgan comes riding in on his little 10 speed and kicks one of them and then rides out of the way.
But before he gets away, one of the guys takes a swipe at him with an antenna from a car and cuts this like patch that's on the back on the back of his leather jacket.
So he didn't feel it.
next day
Morgan's at school
he's just trying to fit in
the street tuffs go to this school as well
they see that hey there's a guy
that from last night
looks like we're going to school today
yeah
because they noticed the
the cut
the cut patch in the back of his jacket
so then they go
they take his bike
Morgan's kind of walking around
and this is when he meets up with
Robert Downey's character
Jimmy
and Jimmy's trying to say
Hey man I'm in a band and you should come out to the show
tonight and I'm all right cool
But then they hear cars
Doing donuts
In the parking lot
I don't know where the school security was but oh well
It was uh what's his name was security
From uh diehard 2
And that wasn't wrong
Yeah
I don't know where he went
Because we meet him because he tells James
Spader
Morgan to get off the bike or stop riding his bike through the campus.
Yeah.
And then you don't see him anymore.
Barnes was his name.
Art Evans is the actor.
Barnes from Dyer, too.
So he runs up because he sees Nick and Frankie riding around on his bicycle and he goes up to them and wants it back.
And they started out talking shit to him.
you know, here comes one of the cars coming full speed at Morgan.
Morgan jumps out of the way and they run over his bike.
So his, his bicycles toast.
I didn't get this.
Everybody's laughing at the second time the car came at him.
He didn't even move.
And everybody's laughing at him.
I don't know.
I thought that was kind of impressive.
I mean, his bike did get fucked up, but he didn't, he didn't flinch or nothing.
Nope.
So, but.
And he should have used that switchblade did, uh, uh, uh, Jimmy gave him.
Because Jimmy gives him a switchblade in class.
No, this, this school doesn't even look tough.
If it looked like, uh, the school in class in 1984, all right.
I'd understand the switchblade, but this school looked like the karate kid school.
Well, they're, they're having.
dance battles into disco.
So, I mean,
no offense, anybody likes disco,
but the dance scene was a little
little much for me.
Yeah, so Jimmy
takes his bike
and goes home.
Oh,
before, before
he picked up his
bike, one of the, Jimmy, or not
Jimmy, Morgan had sunglasses on them.
One of the dudes ran up to him
and spray painted his face.
red but he just kind of shrugs it off he picks up his bike and rolls out and they let him go they
don't chase somebody commences the talking shit and Morgan goes home and his mom gets into it with
him because he's what's wrong you bike got nothing I can fix it and then she comes in and just immediately
he starts yelling at him ah you starting this again and then dad comes in and kind of saves the
day like that's all right so but
We go to the next scene.
We're in some warehouse club.
And we got one of the bands from New Year's Evils in there.
No, this band's actually, well, the singer is an actually, he's a somebody.
His name is Jim Carroll.
He is a writer.
For those of you that have seen or read the Basketball Diaries.
It's a good movie.
Yeah, it was based on him.
This is the guy that wrote the story.
It was based on his life.
He passed away, I think,
2009, yeah.
I think he had cancer and he passed away.
Because he did music.
He was a writer as well and everything.
So, but yeah, so the Jim Carroll,
I don't know, it's a Jim Carroll band, I guess.
Because he plays himself in this.
And these are all these are real songs.
But we see Jimmy is the drummer.
Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey.
What's his name was going, trying to get to the party?
Because his bike is all beat up.
He ends up stealing a, was it a Mercedes or something?
Porsche.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, that's right.
So he goes in there.
Everyone's at the party.
Nick and the gang are there.
Frankie's in there.
She's looking good.
Morgan shows up
and then all of a sudden the band kicks in
and then we get a big old dance number
like this was it was a dance number where
Morgan grabs Frankie
and then all of a sudden they get all the room in the world
and everyone's doing these choreographed moves
everyone
yeah like the whole club
I could have did without all this
but if anything
I could have done with
without Nick and all them dancing.
Yeah, because Nick comes in and starts dancing.
And these are all teenagers, so everyone's underage drinking.
I don't know if that's really Robert Downey playing the drums, but all right.
But Frankie doesn't really want nothing to do with Morgan, but she continues to keep dancing with them.
And Jim Carroll's up there wrecking, wrecking the stage.
And then Nick and the gang, they see Morgan dancing,
with Jimmy or dancing with
Frankie so he sends a couple of his street
tuffs down on this part was stupid
he sends them onto it but they can't get through
all the dancers all the dancers are
swarming around them so and
I couldn't get through that choreography
it's stupid
it's the one little Mexican guy
he's been in like a bunch of movies
but he gets up to Morgan
and then Morgan ends up to
grabbing him and then they're dancing and then he throws a little Mexican guy to the ground.
Yeah, like the dancing.
He can't do nothing about it.
Yeah.
Like headbutton or something.
So Nick is still standing to doing nothing and he's kind of up high so he can see everybody.
Morgan runs out of the room.
Everyone goes chasing him and Nick starts screaming at Frankie.
What are you doing with him?
You're here with me and this and that.
so Morgan tries to get away
but Nick and the gang
they meet him outside
they rough him up and then they steal his
Porsche and this part
was funny though because when the
when those guys steal the Porsche
Nick and them like yeah
then the cops roll on him
the one Mexican dude
he had no idea what to do
he's like
doesn't know where to put his hands
he's about to put his hands on top of his head
he's like what do
we're lucky they didn't shoot him
but yeah
yeah
um
yeah
well uh
jimmy came out
oh man what happened
sorry about your car
that's not my car
and whatever
so next of that's cool
well Morgan and them
are not Morgan
Frank Nick and his two buddies
they are locked up
they like you get locked up
for a few days
Morgan tries to talk to Frankie
she still don't want none to
do with them.
Somebody has somebody in Nick's gang, puts a dead rat in Morgan's locker.
And I don't know about you, man.
If that was a dead rat bleeding all over in my books, I just said, look, man, I ain't
touching any of this and left it alone.
But he cuts the mat, the mouth, the rat out.
And his books are all bloody.
Yeah, I think he was bad because I think he was his notebooks.
So he always carries around and writes him.
or I could see that
but yeah
and then Morgan's brother shows up
and he's a yuppied out with the
polo shirts and drinking wine with his mom
did you think
because I've never seen this movie before
it was my first time I thought the mom
was fucking around on the dad
the way her and the son
were holding hands I did at first I didn't know
this was another son
I didn't get any of that
I was like
why did she got this young dude
just at the house like at school
and then they mentioned
he's the other son
and I was like oh okay
well I did see this when I was
13 14
so I wasn't thinking anything like that
but yeah you can see the
the relationship between the two brothers
Morgan and his brother is not good because this is when he did tell him because his older brother's telling him like, come on, mom and dad did everything for you.
And this is when Morgan looked, I didn't even want to go to those schools.
And I actually don't love me and you're her favorite and that type of shit.
So Morgan's like, yeah, he just kind of strolls out.
And he's, um, he was going to go somewhere.
I can't remember where he was going.
But he was sitting at a bus stop.
And then here comes, uh, uh, the car, the, the Nick drives and boom.
and then chases him down
and Morgan starts running for his life
and the car's about to run him over
and then when the car stops
out pops
Jimmy
nobody tries to help when this is all going on
to
move to everything.
Yeah, what is Jimmy to Nick?
His brother
his brother, I think
Jimmy's brother was
either a mechanic or a friend's and Nick.
That's how Jimmy got the car.
So he was like, yeah, my brother got his car.
So I'm here.
Because that's when they told him, yeah, he's still locked up.
So they're like, all right, what are you going to do?
So they end up jumping in the car.
And they go taking off.
They're driving down the road.
They find Frankie and Ronnie.
And hey, get on in.
Because when the girls see the car,
They're like, oh, Nick's out.
So they pull up.
And then they jump in.
Ronnie sees Jimmy in the back because she was kind of peeping him out at that show when he was playing.
So she jumps in.
Throwing it at him in the back seat.
Oh, yeah.
There was, I don't know what Jimmy's problem was.
But she immediately jumps in and starts kissing his neck and his face.
And Jimmy's just like this happens every day.
But he sees little trippy.
He doesn't want none of it.
he's trying to talk to Morgan and tell him to pull over and let him out.
But, no, Ronnie's all over.
Yeah, Ronnie's all over Jimmy.
But Morgan and Frankie are arguing in the front seat.
She's like, pull over, take me home.
I don't want to be with you.
And I'm Knicks and this and that.
Morgan's thrown there.
Why are you with him?
And then there's a montage of them riding around in Beverly Hills.
And they pull up to some rich yuppie country club.
Morgan Morgan has a nice
I don't know sweater on or whatever
so and he's got his polo shirt on under it
so he takes a sweater off puts it on Frankie
she fixed herself up a little Ronnie
has to just basically just button up her shirt
and everything so they can look presentable
same thing with Jimmy he buttons up his shirt
and tucks it in and they go in and they're like
what are we doing here we're going to kick us out
we're not members and he goes well for but next 20 minutes
we are. So Morgan
just follow my lead.
We roll into the country
club. I assume it's
Friday, so I assume it's, they said
it was Teens Day or something.
Like Junior
Night or something. Yeah,
because you go on there, there's a bunch of yuppies in there
dancing around. Another
band, more dancing.
Morgan
goes, they all go in, but then the guy
that's running the desk kind of does notice
them that they're not
members, he kind of questions them, but they're like, no, no, we're good and everything.
And they kind of just talk their way past him.
And then they go in, he goes, all right, just hurry up and eat.
So they walk in and they just immensely start to start eating.
And Jimmy's talking to other guys and Ronnie's talking to the yuppie girls talking about
she swallows and this and that.
Jimmy's stealing food.
He's stuffing long baguettes down his pants.
Yeah, I mean, like, you know, like.
come on, man.
Don't be greedy.
Oh, yeah,
and everyone's in their dancing
and no one's listening to the beat
because they're all off,
but there's,
I don't know who this band is.
He's in there,
but Jimmy's walking around
trying to pimp on chicks
and he's getting nowhere.
Next thing you know,
the band's like,
all right,
we're going to take a break.
And then...
It's a scene that Lance would enjoy.
Yeah, Morgan jumps up
on the piano and starts,
singing a song serenading Frankie
and I think this is when she starts to
get a little feelings for him.
So Morgan's up there playing the piano and singing.
He's no Stegman from class of 1984.
No.
But I don't care who you are.
If you can play the piano and get the girl,
hey man, my hat's off to you.
So I'll give it up to Morgan.
At least that worked.
So he's up there singing,
serenading her and everyone starts dancing and then
when they're done with the song
the guy comes up and basically kicks them out and they all leave
so just more talking Morgan
who are you and all my
Frankie tells him that
his mom had passed her mom had passed
from cancer a year ago and it's just her and her father
and Morgan's just trying to get it and then so the next
thing you know we get another big old
the club scene
another band playing
more
choreographed dance
numbers
that was not
Kim Richards
doing some of that
no no
the more
elaborate
moves no that wasn't
there but
I don't know who
this band is
jacking the somebody
he's jacking the jack-offs
or whatever
I don't know
his name's on the drum
I didn't really make it out
but
these guys are on
business suits up there rocking
I'll give it to the band is cool.
I love bands that have horn sections.
So they're all up there dancing and Morgan and Frankie start dancing.
Frankie takes off the sweater and now she starts swinging it.
Again, everyone, she's supposedly supposed to be a teenager in there and all these old men are checking her out.
But yeah, that long hair, long crimped hair.
Ooh, man.
Yeah, because she starts pole dancing, dancing on tables, dancing on the bar.
I don't know where security is at, but I don't think this could would, would float.
Yeah, it's doing cartwheels and everything on the bar.
Even the singers singing, singing and talking shit about her.
I don't know.
I mean, did it need this many dance numbers in this film?
No.
What?
It's the 80s, man.
What can you do?
So if Frankie or Morgan ends up taking her home and Nick's there.
And he's, ah!
This is when the true color.
come out of Nick.
He's jealous yelling at her.
You're my girl.
And no one else is.
And Frankie does,
you don't own me and all this shit.
So there are you.
And then Frank,
then Nick comes up behind her.
Oh, baby, I'm sorry.
You know, I'm just love you and I'm mad.
And.
Is this when he goes down on her?
Yeah.
He goes, why don't you just give it up to me?
She's like, yeah, you know, I don't want to do that.
I'm not ready for that.
And all this.
But then she just kind of lays there.
And they see, you know,
he's kissing her neck.
and next to you know he goes south of the border and she's grunting around and yeah all right well i guess
that's all you're going to get um so the next day at school we see morgan he's uh just getting out
of gym class here comes nick in the gang uh all of a sudden everyone just disappears out of the
locker room and they don't know what's up and uh here comes nick in the boys and they got towels
with padlocks and um all right if you guys remember uh pile getting hit with 50 guys
hitting them with soap. Bars of soap. I'd rather get hit bars or soap than with a padlock
in a towel. They could have killed him. Obviously, they didn't hit him in their head. But he tries
his best, man. He tries fighting with him. But then once he falls face down and these two commence to
swinging the towels with padlocks in it, man. Nick's just standing there. And they fucking,
they would have broke ribs or something. And, you know, yeah.
Yeah.
I don't want to know that feeling because these guys just worked them.
And Nick finally just stops them and yells them,
then I leave my girl alone or I will kill you.
No teachers.
No teachers anywhere.
No, no security, nothing.
I assume that the security and the teachers are just scared of Nick and the gang.
That's like stigman and all them.
But anyway, so next scene we see Nick's mom and dad.
and they're like, hey, where's Morgan?
Is he home?
And they go, yeah, I think I heard him in the back.
So dad goes in there as Morgan's kind of bandaging up his wounds.
And then his dad comes in.
That's what I loved about his dad.
He's just kind of like just, what's up, man?
How's everything?
Are you all right?
Is there something I can do?
And he's not like, ah, what the fuck?
Ah, you done this before?
He didn't go in there.
He wanted to just talk to his son now.
He was like, basically, come on.
I know something's wrong.
I can help you.
But Morgan's like,
nah,
it's all right,
man.
I got it.
I can handle it myself.
So his mom comes in.
What's going on?
What's going on?
No,
nothing.
He's all right.
He's something he can deal with.
He's okay.
Hey,
what's for dinner?
So we go on all that.
But we go over,
we get a scene of Frankie getting ready,
getting all dolled up,
no crimp tear.
And then her dad kind of comes to the,
to the door saying, yeah, Nick's coming over, because we get a big old montage of Frankie
trying to put clothes on, dress up, and look.
You see that she's trying to talk different, like, oh, I've had lobster so much that's coming
out of my ear.
She's trying to be more sophisticated so she can fit in Morgan's world because she's starting
to fall for him.
But that's on her dad.
Hey, Nick's coming over.
and oh okay cool and then we hear uh morgan outside trying to play music and
fucking get frankie's heart trying to be john kusack yeah reading stuff out of his out of his book
and then he goes running up there and kind of goes into her room i mean i don't i don't know about
that i'd have bars on those windows i mean teenage daughter that can just crawl out her window and
that right down from stairs into the alley um but she should
trying to get him to get out of the house.
He's no, I'm not leaving unless you come order my house for dinner.
So she agrees with it.
So she comes out.
Nick comes pounding on the door.
Hey, hey, Frankie, what's going on?
What's going on in there?
And then she goes, wait a minute.
Can I just leave my be alone?
Nick comes in and as well as Frankie's dad.
And then, oh, we're here for celebration.
And Nick asked her, Frankie's dad, if he can have her hand.
in marriage. And so they're like, yeah, here's some champagne for some of underage kid.
Yeah. I was like, what, what year is this supposed to be?
Yeah. So, because Nick just pops open and he's powering the champagne right out of the bottle.
But we see that Frankie's like not having it, but I guess she just didn't want to get into it with Nick.
So next day we go back to school, Jimmy gives Morgan a new bike's in here. You're going to need this.
he kind of finds out about Nick's proposal to Frankie.
So he jumps on the bikes and hauls ass.
He goes over and finds Frankie, what the hell?
What the fuck?
What's going on?
Why are you doing this?
You can ruin your life?
And she's like, ah, you don't own me.
But while they're talking, a little Mexican guy from Nick's gang sees them.
And he hears them talking about, well, you know you're coming to my house tonight for dinner.
So, but didn't really think that it was going to come because they were arguing.
but that night
Frankie does eventually come over
and she's all cleaned up
no crimped she's not all dressed
all slutty so she comes over
didn't like it
um
this is how she if you guys saw me both too
she's also on that one
yeah um
Kim Ritch's I love you but I love you sister Kyle more
but anyway
check out Cowherj's and Halloween kills
and she's coming back for Halloween
and so that's awesome
Beverly Hills Housewives
yes I watch that show
so anyway so they're sitting there having dinner
they're trying to just
mom and dad just trying to be cool
but the mom's got to be nosy
and oh
we should go do this again
bring your mom
it'll be a party
and then Frankie kind of just gets mad
and walks out of the house
because they're talking about her mom
she overreacted
yeah
she could like
his mom didn't know
Yeah. But she like just jumps up and leaves and then
Morgan's mom like, what did I say?
Her mom's dead. And then she ends up strutting out of the house.
But Nick and the gang were we're peeking through the window because they followed Frankie over to Morgan's house.
So Morgan, Frankie ends up leaving and they kind of get into a little argument outside.
Like I can't be a part of this world.
I'm somebody different.
So she ends up storming off.
Morgan's all mad.
He ends up walking away.
His dad tried to go out and talk to him, but he's like,
nah, dad, it's all right, man, I can handle it.
So Morgan goes walking away.
Nick and the gang are outside.
They see him.
I don't know how Morgan didn't see them.
Plus, that's, everybody knows Nick's car,
and he just walks right on past it.
So instead of Nick and them chasing Morgan,
they end up grabbing Frankie and kind of yell at her,
where you been, where you been?
Come on looking for you all night.
So they tell her to get in the car and they're driving around and they're like,
oh, we're running out of gas.
We need some gas money.
So Nick kind of followed.
I don't know how he found Morgan's dad,
but he finds Mr. Hiller.
He's kind of parked off to the side in his cab reading the newspaper,
I guess waiting for calls or something.
Because Nick pulls up, takes off this watch.
Hang on, go over and ask that guy for.
some for some money so we can get money for gas and she's like hey this is the watch i gave you
and he goes like i know now go over there and get us some money so she when she walks over there
she she notices that it's uh morgan's dad so she kind of turns around and like well no this ain't
happening but then nick starts screaming at her you're gonna go over there you're gonna do it
because they know who who that is so she's like she tries to run back over there and warn him
and tell uh mr hiller to to get out of there but
Here come Nick and the gang.
They come up and they tackle him.
But Mr. Heller, man.
He was no joke, man.
He was handling him.
All three of them.
Whop in the ass at first.
Yeah.
I mean, he was fucking him up.
He was even fucking up.
Nick threw him around.
He's throwing the left and the right.
He threw a little Mexican guy over the car.
Yeah.
But then they kind of triple teamed them.
And then they started roughing them up.
But Mr.
Heller came back, need.
Nick, he clocked the other white dude, but then Nick pussy ass pulls out a gun and then shoots Mr. Heller twice.
Because he was beating the shit out of him. He was holding his. So I don't know where he came from, but he was no punk. He didn't just get beat up.
See, he probably could have won this if the bitch ass didn't pull out a gun.
Yeah. So Frankie's there. She's crying. Nick and the gang end up taking off. But Frankie stays there.
And next thing we get Mr. Heller's in the hospital.
He's alive.
Morgan's there and he's trying to figure out what's going on.
He goes outside to see his mom and she's kind of like,
oh, it's all right.
It's all right.
But then here comes Morgan's brother.
And then she just like leaves Morgan and runs over to her son that she loves.
And Morgan's like, ah, fuck this.
I'm out.
But he finds Frankie.
And obviously she must have told him
what happened and who did it.
So he takes her over to his house and
she's, yeah, she was all beat up
because she got a little roughed up by Nick
because he's like a tendon to her wounds on her back
and then one thing leaves another.
I like you and this and that
and the music changes. Next thing you know,
I don't think this was her
when he opens up her shirt,
but he commences to beating it up.
And she does her first time.
I don't know about his,
because she never gave it up to nobody.
So after he wrecks it,
he takes her to her dad's store.
He's got a corner store.
Morgan rides off.
Big old smile on his face.
I'd be smiling too.
But anyway,
she's in a Frankie's in there talking to her dad,
and he's just kind of like, yeah, yeah, whatever.
But then in comes Nick.
And he's like, ah, mad.
he pulled, he grabs Frankie,
starts throwing her around and slapping her and punching her.
Frankie's dad tries to get in,
but then he gets roughed up by Nick.
He gets thrown into some shells and falls down.
He doesn't kick ass.
No, uh,
Morgan's dad does.
I mean, Nick was no joke, man.
I know he's in love and everything,
but he picks up Frankie and then power bombs her right on the floor of the store.
And then he just,
he goes off and he starts screaming at her and she's crying
and then they just grab her and take off
um oh they call they call the Morgan right before
yeah they um they made her uh call him
but then when he answers Nick gets on ah you motherfucker
meet us at the warehouse I assume he knew where to go
I think this was the the warehouse yeah this was the warehouse
I was where the party was going on.
So Morgan's there.
His brother comes in, hey, what's going on?
But Morgan's, fuck you, I'm out.
He goes into his room.
Earlier in the film,
kind of in the beginning,
Morgan was laying in his bed.
And I don't know about you, man,
but roaches were crawling around my house.
I doubt had done something about it.
But it was roaches crawling around on the walls.
But he did do something about it.
Yes, he's two little dart guns.
He pulls him out and he shot the, the bugs, kind of blew them apart on the wall.
But before he leaves, when he's yelling at his brother, his brother tries to get all around.
Oh, what are you doing?
You're going to be tough and you're getting past me.
And then Morgan grabs his little dark guns and get out of my way.
And his brother bitches out and Morgan takes off.
But before that, he went to Jimmy's house, but Jimmy wasn't there.
Jimmy's brother was there with his little dogs
And he writes a note and to here give us to Jimmy
He's all right cool so he bounces
Morgan goes to the to the warehouse
He's looking in the window
He sees Nick in the gang
He sees Frankie kind of just crying off to the side
And he ends up sneaking in
Through the top window
Like a ninja
Yeah
And then the guys
They all start trying to grab weapons
and stuff.
So Morgan sneaks in and one of the dudes is upstairs.
Or because they heard some noise.
So Nick tells him to go up there and check it out and he's holding like a pipe or something.
So when he comes in, Morgan sneaks up behind him, points the gun in his face and that guy stops.
And then he kind of gets it into it with him.
And he like knocks his fool out with his guns and then he ties him up.
but before he ties him up, he's looking down and he sees Nick and the other two guys that Mexican do near little white guy.
And there's these big like billboards in there hanging on ropes.
And there's a rope right in front of Morgan.
Luckily, that's the right one that's holding these big billboards.
So he kind of does some trickery with that.
he makes some noise and everyone looks up and he triggers the the billboard to fall down
crash on those two guys and they go down another dude runs upstairs
Nick poor Morgan pulls out his guns his little dart gun shoots that guy
with him and he goes flying down the stairs
before he gets kicked down the stair he shoots him in the neck with the dart
then kicks him in the in the face and he goes flying down the stairs Nick pulls out his
gun starts letting rounds off at Morgan as Morgan's trying to run around.
Frankie tackles Nick and they go falling around and he starts slapping her up.
Morgan grabs a robe, swings in like Tarzan, boo, booed Nick off the stage.
He goes, I'm watching this, everyone.
He goes falling down and he goes, and then Morgan comes up to him and kicks Nick in the face,
kicks him off the stage.
Morgan dives on to him
Then they start fighting
Nick's guys are still all
crashed up under the billboard
And Morgan just starts
Whooping Nick's ass
Slamming him all over the place
And beating the hell out of them
I don't know why I didn't shoot him
With his dark guns but all right
So Nick's getting the shit beating out of him
But before he throws in that last punch
His buddies come to
They grab Morgan
and then they double team him,
start beating the shit out of him.
And they grab them, slam around,
and they're holding them,
waiting them for Nick to get up and do something.
Nick picks up his pistol.
He's these cocks the hammer.
He's getting ready to shoot him.
But then Morgan's just sitting there like,
oh, so Nick starts socking Morgan in the face.
Wow, his other two buddies are holding him.
And he's getting ready to shoot him.
But then here comes Frank.
you know, what's his name?
Jimmy.
Jimmy comes in and he's got his brother's Doverman pinchers.
And then he lets the dogs go.
Nick lets off around, hits Jimmy in the leg.
And he, ah, he falls down.
And then the dogs go chasing after the dudes.
The Mexican guy goes running out with Doverman hot on his heels.
And the other dude, the other Doverman attacks him.
So while that's going on, Nick and Morgan start going at it.
and now they're beating the shit out of each other
while the dogs are chewing up Knicks boys
Now the white guy ran and dove out of window
I don't know how high up they were
But he dove out of window and then the
The Doverman ran after him
The other dude was high enough because
Later on there's only one Doberman that comes back
Because the Mexican dude crawled up a pole
And that Doberman's just trying to jump up and get him
So Nick and Morgan are fighting.
Nick knocks Morgan to the ground.
He pulls a hole in knife up to Morgan's throat.
But before he can cut it, here comes Frankie.
She's got the gun.
And Nick, he's, oh, baby, come on.
You don't want to shoot me and this and that.
So Nick, like, scares her.
And then she starts pulling the trigger and the gun's empty.
So Nick gets up.
He gets all mad.
He's like, oh, fuck.
Didn't Jimmy get shot in the leg?
Yeah, he's still laying there.
Okay.
So he didn't move.
Nick knocks the gun out of Frankie's hand.
He grabs her and starts choking her.
Basically telling her, I love you and all this and throws her off the stage and she's all beat up.
He's about to jump down.
Or he jumps down and he starts clocking Frankie while she's laying there.
Morgan jumps up.
He grabs Nick, slams him into the wall, looks at Nick.
Frankie or Frankie and she's laying there.
She's knocked out, but she's still alive.
So Nick gets up.
He grabs a 2x4 that's got nails at the end.
And he starts swinging it at Morgan,
but Morgan duck and dodges.
And then, well, Nick gets hit a couple times,
but then Morgan grabs an axe.
He breaks the 2x4.
and then he's got axe and he's swinging in at Nick.
He chases Nick up the stairs and Nick kicks the axe out of Morgan's hand and they start
wrestling around upstairs and then Morgan just starts giving him the old left and rights and beating
the shit out of him.
Nick's crashing all over the place.
And Morgan walks up on him and starts beating his ass some more.
And then Frankie kind of comes to, she sees them up there fighting.
so he kind of turned Morgan turns his attention to to Frankie but then this
Nick kind of comes to he picks up a pipe and he's like limping towards
Morgan he doesn't see but then he realizes it then the Nicky's there and he
turns around and kind of gives him the the grass punch with two hands
and Nick goes flying backwards crashes through the railing
and falls that onto the floor below.
did he die I took it as he died
and nobody cared
that he just murdered somebody
so let's say the other dude that jumped out of the window
died along with the other dog
um
because they never come back and
I assume that Mexican guy is still holding on to the
to the rafters
uh Jimmy's still laying there with a bull hole in him
in his leg
um
Morgan looks over, sees Nick Lane there.
We assume he's dead.
Or who know?
I don't know.
But he looks at Frankie.
Then it fades to black.
We go back to the club where Jack and the Jackoss are playing.
And here comes Morgan and Frankie.
She's all done up.
The guy on stage, oh, here comes that girl again.
And because they see her walking in.
Yeah, the underage girl.
Yeah.
And then they go into a big old, another dance montage.
And this is when the credits start rolling.
Jimmy comes limping in.
I was just about to ask, was he limping when he came in?
Yeah, he comes limping.
I think he was on crutches, I think.
I don't know.
They're showing the credits and the band's rocking.
T, you F, F, you are so tough.
Got to love 80s, boys and girls.
but Ronnie comes in
and these other old creepy men are checking her out
and she's giggling around
and the band is wailing
Jack and the heartbreaks
I think that's what I said
I like your name
yeah Jimmy comes
no he don't have no crutches
he's limping in but he's
got something on his lake
and there's a big old huge dance number
next thing you know
all of them
Morgan, Frankie, Jimmy, and Ronnie are on the stage singing, and we see them.
They got the instruments in their hands and Morgan's playing the saxophone.
And I don't know.
Guys plays every instrument.
Yeah.
And that's your movie.
That's tough turf.
but I love this movie.
It's goofy.
All the dance numbers and the singing and everything.
But hey, it's 1985.
What can you do?
It does have its moments where it gets a little dark because,
I mean, Nick is beating up his girlfriend and shooting people's dads.
But I think there's a little bit of everything.
thing in here for for somebody yeah uh again it's on uh prime or youtube or you can buy it for
1799 on amazon blu-ray i guess i have to get it um but yeah i mean it was i watched this last
night and i didn't see it in forever and i forgot all the the dancing that was in this movie
I don't see how you can forget all that.
I do.
I saw once in the theater, maybe one other time on USA Up All Night or something like that.
But this wasn't one that I don't know.
Including the credits, there's like three major dance scenes.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, the whole song at the end and them dancing and singing and everything.
But, oh, man.
It's just 80s goodness for what it is.
Yeah, it was minus the dancing and the little comedy montage.
Yeah, like Brian said, it did get dark.
And I was all dealing with Nick on his infatuation or his whatever, just being possessive.
But if you're a fan of James Spader, Kim Richards or Robert Downey Jr.,
than, you know, check it out.
You know, this is one of their first movies that they were doing or as young adults.
Yeah, Robert Downey, he's only, he's in it minimal.
It's not, he's not the big star that he is today that he was back then.
This is actually his, okay, he, he's done some movies, but I think,
some stuff was uncredited
and
I remember him in firstborn
if you guys have seen that
and then
this is
one two three four five
his seventh movie
but the other films
they had done before
he was like just in it
he wasn't like the star
because after this
he does girls just want to have fun
horrible movie
and then
weird science
and then
back to
school and then he he starts his reign of terror and then he just goes head over heels into drugs
and jail and all that um then makes one of the biggest comebacks over yeah he did when did that
one come out iron man man was 2008 yeah yeah well i remember when they announced it saying oh yeah
Robert Downey Jr.
is going to be Tony Stark.
I was like, what?
Really?
Because he had done a few other
movies before this one, but it was
out of jail, drugs
and all that.
But then...
He did Tropic Thunder the same year as Iron Man.
Yeah, I think they filmed that one before.
And that wasn't...
We didn't even know that was going to be
such a big hit. But yeah, I think Iron Man
was the one that just
brought him out of the darkness
and then he turned into the billion dollar man
from here on out
um
did he do
he didn't do the voice in what if did he
uh
I don't know
there there was so many people that was supposed to do
the voice but didn't
no it does
I don't see it
I don't either Sherlock Holmes 3
yeah they're about to make that
I didn't even like to
second one. Maybe I just need to rewatch it.
It's not good.
Yeah, all right. That's why it did.
I don't remember. The first one was really good, but
James Bader, is that show still on?
Blacklist?
I want to say yes.
I just haven't.
Yeah. It's still going.
I've seen parts of the first season.
The last movie he did was Age of Ultron,
2015.
Getting that TV money.
Yeah, he is.
good for him because he he's always been around but I didn't really think anything was huge until
blacklist I don't know but then again I haven't really been following his career that much but
it was cool when I found out that he was Ultron I thought that was awesome blacklist I know
I've watched a few episodes but I didn't never really got into because one of my friends she
loves this show she keeps telling me watch it watch it watch it and I'm like all right
his next his movie after this one i want to do when it's streaming the new kids
it's not streaming anymore i thought i saw it somewhere no i picked up the blue ray
okay but i thought it was streaming because it was going to be one of my picks but i can't
find it nowhere now was that eighty five same same year
Is he in that?
I remember
I meanly being
he's one of the
The bad guys
Yeah
It's the opposite
Tough turf
Okay
His what's their names in it
Um
Lori Loughlin
Oh Joe Bird
Yeah
No
Aunt Becky or whatever
Her name was
Oh man
I ain't seen that
forever either. I think last time I saw it was
and it was new. Yeah,
the Blu-ray is one of those
you know, the ones, the case looks
like VHS. Oh,
is it? Yeah, I think it was like eight bucks
on Amazon.
Well, yeah, well,
I'll find that one.
All right. It's your
pick. Oh, okay.
This is one that I was going to pick
because it was on YouTube, but
now
it is on
Shutter
this is a film that came out
in 1991
I had seen it at a film festival
I didn't know anything about it
all I knew was
one of my favorite actors
are in it and that's Graham Green
and this is
I'm not even going to try to pronounce this
director's last
or the first name and last
but this is clear cut
clear cut
have you seen this one
I've never heard of it
All right. It's on Shutter.
And I'll dive into it more when we get into it.
But, okay.
You guys have Shutter or AMC Plus?
Because I think Shutter is with AMC Plus.
If you want to see the widescreen version, those are the ones to watch it.
But if you just want to watch it to watch it, it is on YouTube, but it's full screen.
So it's the square instead of the rectangle.
But either way, it's still an awesome film.
But yeah, come back next week.
we talk about clear cut all right uh before we get out of here uh want to try something new uh
both of us give like a streaming recommendation you got one something something something you
watch recently that uh you think somebody should check out that stream in somewhere oh man
put me on the spot um it is on on i don't even remember what i've watched
last streaming.
Because the last two movies are old.
Got to watch The Shining and then I watched
Clockwork Orange. I kind of fell into
Stanley Kubrick
thing.
It's on HBO Max, huh?
Yeah, they were on there.
Go ahead.
Pick one.
This one's also
on HBO Max. I've been binge
going through the seasons of impractical
jokers since I found out
Joe Gatto's leaving
so
and from what I heard
they're supposed to be taking out some scenes
that he's done
so watch them now
because there might be some
some certain scenes and stuff that are
missing
they're continuing
I know that if you guys listen to
tell them
Steve Dave,
Q was saying that they
did film the ninth season
and they're gonna film season 10.
Not sure if that's the last season,
but they're gonna go on.
I think they should do the jackass route
how jackass forever they're bringing on new people.
I don't know, man.
Joe's kind of tough to replace,
man.
He was hilarious.
He is an awesome guy.
I met him a few times.
and he was really nice.
And I wish nothing
with the best for Joe.
Brother, what if you're listening, man?
Just keep your head up, man.
Party on.
But,
all right, I found something.
If you guys have stars, check out,
what year has come out,
2005,
and this is Grandma's boy.
Ah.
This will be awesome.
I love it.
But yeah,
if you have stars,
check out Grandma's boy.
Never looked at,
Laura Croft to save again.
All right.
We out of here?
Yeah, we are done.
Yep.
All right.
Come back next week for a clear cut.
So until then, party on.
And be safe and be good to each other.
