They're gonna be after all of us.
We're gonna take that big bank downtown.
Are you in?
No, I ain't in.
Hell no.
You ain't got no fucking choice.
And you don't tell me what fucking choices I have, Frankie.
There's armed robbery and it's murder.
I heard anybody, Frank.
The episode of THR Presents Stream Fiends.
I'm your host Brian.
And of course, always with me is my brother Nez.
What's up, man?
Oh, man, I'm good.
Put up, everybody. We're back.
Again, life and this and that.
Oh, man, it's been a bitch.
It's been the last few months, but...
Life doesn't stop.
Yeah, man.
We've got to keep going, man.
It's give us time to breathe, but...
All right, everyone.
This was my pick.
What did we do the last time?
I don't even remember.
You don't make me look because I don't remember.
It was a while ago.
everybody I want to say was it roller boys yeah it was shout out to core name yeah I think it was
all right everyone I was it was it yeah okay I don't see everyone I'm sorry I don't remember
my mind's way back we did we did lean on me before that we did the principal then we did
Roller Boys.
Okay.
Yeah, we had that high school thing going for a minute.
But all right, everyone.
We're going to, L.A.?
Is that where they were in the?
Yeah, I was.
I don't know.
Graduate bank robbery.
Yeah.
We're going to, we're going to set it off down in, in SoCal, with the
1996 film, the 1996 F.
Gary Gray film set it off.
That's what we need to do.
Rob a bank.
Let's do it.
On November 6th.
Don't make me get ugly up in here, ladies and gentlemen.
Y'all can't be serious.
Four friends will set.
Don't move.
Get off.
Set it off.
Are we going to get away with this?
Yes.
Waited R.
Starts Wednesday, November 6th.
After being fired from her job as a bank teller, Frankie, begins working.
in a janitorial service with her friends.
Tishon, a single mother, Cleo, a bestorist.
I think it's like you say it.
Lesbian.
Okay.
And Stony.
Who is dealing with the recent death of her brother.
Spoiler alert.
If you haven't seen this.
The women are struggling with their finances so they decide to start robbing banks.
At first the group is successful, but they soon attract the attention of an obsessive detective.
Came out November 6th of 1996.
All right, that was Google.
Let's see what IMDB's got for us.
Hopefully it's one sentence, but it does not look like it.
Oh, it is.
Desperation drives four inner city women to bank robbery in Los Angeles when they start mistrusting each other.
Oh, wait. Then they start mistrusting each other.
Okay.
Did they?
I didn't think so.
But all right.
It was on HBO Max and it was the director's cut and the scene that I didn't remember in the film that I assume was new wasn't anything really to the story.
But you guys just see I have the regular version.
You're okay with it.
right this stars jada pinkett smith oh vivica a fox i love you vivica but again i mean to each his own
she messed her faced up my opinion my opinion everyone she's still beautiful and i wouldn't say no
uh kimberly alice and the only queen we acknowledge uh queen latifa john c mcginley blair underwood
Robinson, Anna Maria,
Horstford, Samuel Monroe, Jr.,
who plays the same
role in everything.
Hey,
gets him a paycheck.
Yeah, it does.
I still liked him in a, don't be a menace.
Pretty much the same role.
With a little more comedy in that one. Yeah, Dr.
Dre.
It's like he walks off of one set
to straight to the other one.
release in the 90s
WC
he's in this
and
Chaz Lamar Shepard
I believe he played
Stevie's brother
if I can remember right
I always forget
he's in this
until you see him
and then
you don't see him anymore
Oh and
what's her name
Rock's wife
You guys remember that show
Rock
Ella Joyce
She plays
Detective Waller
and Thomas Jefferson Bird
He's Luther
What did I just watch?
Oh,
uh,
Clockers
He was the
I think it was a
Yeah,
he was a dope fiend
And he had HIV
I liked him as the pimp
And he got gay
Oh yeah
He wasn't that
I liked him in this
I thought he was hardcore
But Brian
When did you first see
Set it off
Oh, this, I've seen this probably.
I didn't see this in the theater, but I saw it probably as soon as it came on VHS back in the day.
And yeah, this was like kind of like one of those movies that was on the rotation.
You just had some badass strong black female characters doing the thing,
doing what they had to do because life was just giving them a bad hand.
and this is probably
I hate to say it
it just hurts me to say
it but this is probably one of the
better shade of Pinkett
Smith films
out there. She's actually pretty fucking good
in this. I like during
other than this
that was
that movie with G Money
um
Jason's lyric.
Yeah she's good and
they would she had a moment where she was
good and stuff and then
something happened.
I don't know.
I don't know if it's when she started her own band.
If you hear screaming in the background,
I apologize.
We got a puppy and all my kids are here
and my house is being
vandalized by everybody.
Well, it's going on up there
and it's going on here because we just got a puppy
and I was the only one against it
but no one listens to me.
Yeah, I was against it.
against it, but they
fucking brought it over, and then I
looked at the cute little face, and I
was like, telling my
daughter, this is your responsibility,
and now somehow it's
my responsibility, so.
Oh, it'll be my responsibility.
I know, man, this little bastard,
yeah, he's
cute and everything.
Damn, I mean,
the shit and the
piss everywhere. I
didn't, I'm not clear. I told him straight up.
Look, you guys get a dog.
I'm not walking it.
I'm not feeding it.
I'm not cleaning up after it.
So every time it does, somebody's got to come in and do it.
I had my dog.
Budge, I love you, and I miss you.
Rest and peace.
But no.
Well, my dog was at least big already.
This is a puppy and still in training.
And sorry, this turned into the THR present puppy time.
But it just, we didn't know each other got new puppies.
So it just kind of worked out that way.
Yeah.
So, but set it off.
Yeah, I didn't see this in the theater as well.
I think I saw when to hit, uh, HBO or Cinemax.
I don't remember what we had.
It was, this is, uh, was I said, okay, no.
Oh, this came out.
Oh, I saw it here once I moved up here because I moved up to where I live now from the
Bay Area, um, in November.
of 96.
Damn, it was a long time ago.
So, but I saw it once it hit hit cable.
So I don't know however long, maybe 97 when I saw it.
But anyway, uh,
Jane of Pinkett, she was all right.
I mean, I could take her or leave her.
I mean, at this time, uh, Vivica Heyva Fox.
I knew who she was in.
Yes.
And Queenly Teef, everybody knows her.
So I was like, cool.
I didn't know, um, Kimberly Leigh,
yeah, I didn't, I don't even think of,
seen her in anything else other than that I'm because of my wife I've seen her and stuff like
Tyler Perry type movies and stuff like that but this is where I always like if I see her
I be like oh it's a TT from set it off I have to look at her IMDB to see oh she was in the
amazing death wish remake all right at some point we'll get to that one town
Oh shit, she was in John RQ.
Yeah, she was in
Dope.
What was that?
Oh, Ed Astra.
She was in that?
Geez, I don't
I don't remember
her in that.
A bunch of TV.
Senate off was her first movie.
So.
The Man, Cheering, Canada.
I don't remember her in that.
Twilight Zone the series?
I don't remember that either.
Bait.
She's been in a lot of movies with Denzel.
Yeah, Beloved.
I never, I didn't know.
I'm going to have to watch all these.
All right.
Really quick.
Be loved.
The one with Oprah and Danny Glover.
Yeah.
I was looking on a list.
I'm trying to look at it.
I'll send you what I have so far.
for our list of 31 days of horror over on East Society.
And I just looked up 90s horror films.
Oh, that popped up on there.
Yeah, all right.
Is it a horror?
Because I'm on I'm DVD right now, and it says drama history horror mystery.
I've never seen this film.
I'm not sure if I've seen it.
I swear that I have.
And I think there's like horrific things that happen in it.
that's what I figure.
But just to throw the horror tag on there, I don't, I don't know.
Then again, it's been a while.
I might be remembering a completely different movie.
She's right in the trailer too.
Oh, I've never seen this film.
So I don't know.
All right.
I'm going to have to see it.
I mean, yes, I believe in watching the trailer, I'm sure back in those days and was way more horrific
than what they're going to show in the film.
But I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm intrigued.
I mean, I love Oprah Winfrey.
I think she, everything I've seen her in acting wise.
I think she's done a good job.
Danny Glover, he's good and just about everything.
Even in that one movie, who was that one that, uh,
Bouch Riley directed?
Oh.
Was that him and that guy from Atlanta?
The ad agency type stuff?
Yeah, and the big horse people.
Spoiler alert.
he just gave him away.
I need to watch that again.
I didn't get it.
Yeah, the guy from Atlanta
Lekeef Stanfield.
Yeah.
I can't think of the movie.
Sorry to bother you.
I think that's it.
Yeah, that's it.
All right.
Anyway, back to set it off.
Everyone,
yeah, so I saw it
once it hit HBO
and all the other channels
that it was on.
So, but I was like,
all right, cool. I mean, mainly saw her
for Queen Latifah, so I was in
it and watching it.
I was, how Jada Pinkett's in this? Okay, I've seen
her in things. I know she did a lot of TV as well.
Speaking of Jada Pinkett, everyone,
sorry to go off topic again, but you guys know
how we do it here. Did you see
what's his name's comedy special?
Not a
Chris Rock. No.
No, Chris, not Chris Rock.
He's a Wainsborough. Marlon Wains.
Did you see it now?
No.
Dude, if you get a chance, I don't know if it's on HBO or Netflix, one of those ones.
If you get a chance, watch it.
It's an hour of just him talking about Will Smith, Jada Pinkett, and Chris Rock.
It's just about them for an hour.
I was like, how, I don't know.
If those you do you do have seen it, you already know, but do check it out.
It was actually pretty funny.
And I was like, whoa.
I mean, that one situation with the slap and everything.
And then it goes into this whole story and how he knows all three of them.
And it was hilarious.
Have you guys ever seen it?
Again, I don't know if it's on HBO or Max or whatever the hell they're calling it now.
Or Netflix.
I can't remember what it was on.
But I remember reading something about it.
I like Marlon Wayne.
He's funny and just about everything.
I think my favorite movie is that I want him in,
David Spade,
senseless.
I don't know if you've seen that.
Yeah, that's funny.
Yeah, man.
If you guys
ever seen that
Marlon Wayne special,
check it out,
man,
it was hell of funny.
And I back him up,
man,
on everything.
After hearing that story
that he told,
I'm like,
all right,
man,
I'm with you,
Marlin,
but it was a senseless
meth,
too little it in that.
It's like a straight-edge
roommate.
Yeah.
He needed money for school, so he went and did that experiment and everything went how crazy.
Chuckie was the scientist.
Yeah.
But this movie set it off.
Sorry, everyone.
Yeah, this movie is awesome, man.
I've loved it.
Even the first time I've seen it, and I've seen it, I don't know, countless times.
It was the first time that I watched the quote-unquote director's cut, but you can clearly see why.
they took out what they added. It was nothing
really to
push the story along.
I mean, it was just,
if you play it on with this, let's make a director's cut.
Let's just add something that really doesn't need
to be in the movie.
But they have the story of three friends,
or four friends,
in Los Angeles.
Frankie,
Vivike Fox's character, she's working in a bank.
Queen Latifah
and Jada and
T.T.
they're just custodians are working this big building but anyway
Vivicayette Fox another day
another day at the office she's working
uh these two black gentlemen come in
and hold up the bank well one of them comes up
to the teller and it's um
the C yeah um it's um Frankie
she's standing there and she's like hey
what's up man I know you banking here and then he just pulls out a gun
then come on fill up the bag and all this and she's like don't do this don't do this and just
telling him and he's just like trying to just be quiet and then we see the other guys the dude
they got beat up by cane and don't be it didn't don't be a man is in society he's what the hell
was his name in this i don't even remember but anyway so he we see him back there and then
then the guy dub see he turns around all right man
man, this is a stick up or whatever the hell he yells.
And then he just turns around, ah, all hell breaks loose.
Everyone starts screaming.
And then did they end up shooting anyone?
They shut the, the fucking, they shot the old lady.
And then for some reason, that guy that was standing on the counter for some reason,
he gets shot by a security guard.
That's right.
He pulls a gun.
He grabs one of the, the, just someone that was in line and held up a gun.
to her and then he's holding the gun like you would give me the money and she's still trying like
what are you doing and she just blows her brains out and then blood gets all over frankie
and those guys just all end up just grabbing the money and rolling out the same way yeah one of the
security guards pulled out a gun shot dub C and the other guy samuelan morrow junior he's uh
Lorenz yeah yeah he he made it out and took off so do you have random
to the name is music?
No, I didn't. I remember you mentioned it.
I just completely forgot about
the Dubsey and Mad Circle.
I remember all that.
So the cops show up
and the cops are John C. McGinley
as Detective Strode
and
Ella Joyce, Detective
Waller. She was
hardcore. I don't like hearing just about everything.
She plays the same character and everything,
but she's always good.
Because they kind of go into
it and the bank manager is standing right there and then the detective strode is kind of like
what's the procedure when you're getting held up and she kind of goes into it like I'm supposed
to be that's supposed to take the money from I can't remember if it was the left or the right
drawer and then he kind of was just yelling at her and then she's like well is it but he was like
if you know the procedure
then why did you do what you did
and then she was trying to say that guy
had a gun in my face and he blew that girl
away in front of me
how did they know that they knew each other
I don't think
I think later at that time
I don't think unless she said something
to them oh no no no no she did say something to them
because when when a manager
stepped in and just fired her
on the spot like didn't even wait
for the police to leave or anything.
You just say, yeah, sorry, you're out of here.
And she just started going on.
What?
She was, I counted some crazy amount of money for you
and you're a tired-ass bank.
And you're going to fire me?
I love Vivicay Fox.
When she just gets all ruthless and hell of mad,
I'm like, I like, when she went up to Detective Waller,
it was like, damn, sister.
Didn't even ask if I was thirsty while she was drinking a glass of water.
So, flash forward, I don't know, maybe a couple of days.
Frankie, she's working with the rest of the gang.
And they're cleaning some big office building.
And this is one we're introduced to what's his nuts?
Luther.
Thomas Jefferson Bird.
He was hardcore for this.
He was all yelling out.
Come on, come on, you guys need to do your work.
Now get back to work, ladies.
Then he looks at Cleo, Queen Lativa.
And gentlemen.
Frankie's all complaining.
Oh man,
this has hurt my hands
or whatever she's saying
and they're like,
damn,
just do your job.
Lucky you have a job.
So,
I mean,
they're just trying
to make ends meet.
And Cleo,
she's just doing her thing.
T.T.
She's a single mother.
She's trying to raise her son.
And Stoney,
she is raised,
basically raising her,
her teenage brother.
He's a senior.
He just,
he just graduated.
from high school and she's trying to get him off to UCLA.
Yeah,
this is where we transition into.
What was it a 70s or 80s party?
It was a 70s party because everyone had Afro's and Afro puffs.
And Queen Lativa, her hair was, her afro was real.
Everyone else had fake ones on.
She had the little braids and just let them all out.
So they're all partying.
and everyone's having a good time.
And then her brother kind of just,
they just started clowning him.
And he's like, oh, man,
he was trying to get on some chick
and they all came up to him and ruined his game.
And he kind of just got mad and went inside.
And Stoney went after him.
Like, hey, what's going on?
And, oh, no, before that,
she, Stoney,
she was she just needed money to help
with a car dealership guy
yeah with her brother's tuition
and uh that guy he's been in a ton of things
but he's a little sleaze bag in this
uh charles robinson he played Nate
yeah
they're kind of walking along
and then he comes up and he's like hey
Stoney starts flirting around on them and she's like
oh man we're seeing like she's done this before
he was like hey man
I'm really in a bind and I need I need some money and then he was like well what you can do for me
And she's like, oh, she just she knows what she has to do
I mean struggle was real everyone no matter who you are
And they cut to the scene where they're getting it in and it's it's gross it makes you feel gross
Yeah, I mean she's just laying there and it looks like it's hot a hot day because she's sweating
Nate's all sweaty on top of her, giving in his all.
And I just feel sorry for Stoney.
I mean, but you do what you got to do.
I mean, especially for family.
I don't know she didn't want to do that shit, but it was in order to get some money.
I assume she didn't have to pay it back.
So, but she got the check.
Or was this after the party?
No, it was before the party.
Okay.
Because later on, I think neither during the party or after party,
that's when he kind of tells her he doesn't know if he's cut out for college or something.
And then she kind of smacks him and is like, do you know what I had to do to get this money?
Yeah, because he told her he didn't get in.
Yeah.
Because she thought he was in.
And he got into a university.
I think of UCLA, I think.
Yeah.
and just everybody knew he was a graduate everyone knew he was going to go off to school
but she was like no um yeah i ain't going school ain't going school ain't for me i'm just gonna do my
thing and she got all mad slapped them do you know what i had to do to get this and and he was
just like well i'm sorry i ain't going to school and so she just got ah just get out of my face so he
walked off and she just tore up the check but she took one for the team she took one for the
family i mean again like i know she damn well didn't want to do it but i mean you do it for
for the family i mean shit we all we don't want to be out there busting our ass for all these
years but we got to we do it for our family and that's what she was doing she took one for her for
brother so you can go turn up that check though oh yeah i'd have kept that money
I already did the deed
Is my
Pay the bills or something with it
So
Uh
Moving on
Uh
Her brother
He goes to
Oh he went over to
Um
Lorenza's house
And what was uh
What's her name?
I just remember her from Baps
Um
Uh
Mickey
How was her name
Her and um
Academy Award winner
Hallie Barry. She plays the same role
and everything. Her name was
Tanika, but a real name is Natalie
Dezell Reed. I'm down.
What happened to her?
I don't know, man. She's like in everything for a minute
and then this was gone.
Played the same role and everything too, but Baps was my movie.
That movie's hell, buddy.
But anyway, though he goes over
the house, knocks on the door.
Lorenz opens it up with a gun.
And he's like, whoa.
Come on, get in here.
So it's kind of just hanging out.
Hey, man, what's up?
And, man, you graduated.
Yeah, right on, man, you're off to college.
And he's like, I don't know if I'm going to do that.
And he goes, here, man, I got you a present.
He gives him, Lorenz gives Stoney's brother, Stevie, gives him a bottle of champagne.
He's like, oh, cool.
And then he kind of, he turns his head for some reason.
And he's like, then Steve, he's like, oh, damn, that's fat.
What did it say in the back of his hand?
It was an acorn.
Acorn and AP for Acorn projects.
Okay.
It looked all weak.
Yeah.
I mean, I just have long hair, but all my friends that had designs on the back of their heads when I'm growing up, man, whoever did this was just, just did it really quick because it looked garbage.
And he's like, oh, man.
And then he goes, you want this?
And he's like, ah, and he goes, your sister, kick your ass if you had this.
and then he goes, my sister won't do a damn thing.
And then he goes, he tells, what's the name of?
Tanika, hook him up.
And he ain't even from ACORN.
And he goes, fuck all that.
So she breaks up these clippers.
You get beat up for that kind of stuff.
Yeah, you will.
Yeah, from that place.
Yeah.
You can't even wear another high school's t-shirt or letterman's jacket or anything.
He'd still get beat up.
Oh, man.
friend got beat up. He was wearing, um, I went to a skyline in Oakland,
and Oakland. And his girlfriend went to Oakland High. And he had her
Oakland High sweatshirt on and got beat up by some,
some guys from Oakland High just for wearing it. I said, man, you're stupid. That's
what you get. Yeah. This is supposed to be LA, right? Yeah. You can't even
wear specific sports teams. I know. Can't,
I can't wear anything.
Yeah, and you don't want to walk around with something like that on the back of your head where everyone can see and they all know damn well you ain't from from that part of town.
So he's like, oh man, so he thinks he's all good and he walks out of the apartment.
Next thing you know, like the cops come pulling up.
He walks down, he's going down, he's walking across the parking lot and then all these cops just come storming into the parking lot.
Guns out.
Get on the ground.
get on the ground.
He, he lays flat.
And he's,
he's just sitting there.
And the cops,
like,
just don't move,
don't move.
And he's got the,
um,
champagne bottle in his jacket.
And then he kind of like reaches in.
It's,
it was,
and he's got to be careful,
man,
these cops are trigger happy.
But he reached in to grab it.
And he was like,
wait.
But the cops don't know.
You're reaching in your jacket,
man.
It don't matter.
what's on you mean just I've done it just lay on that just get on the ground and just don't move
but there's a lot of stories in real life yeah that are just like this pulling out something that
it has nothing to do with a weapon yeah I mean I think of this man I think about that kid that's in
that um he was in a hotel or a motel I think it was a hotel whole swat team yelling at him and his
girlfriend.
From what I was,
I think this was after
the,
the Vegas shooting
when that man
was shooting
people out of the window
at that concert
from the mirage.
I guess this kid
had a,
one of those air soft guns
and he was standing
in his window
of his hotel room.
People saw him,
reported him.
So, just don't be stupid like that.
I mean, come on, think.
And the cops came.
They didn't know.
They didn't know if he was a real gun or not.
They showed up.
He was, they got him down.
He was in the hall.
They got him out.
Him and his girlfriend were flat on the ground.
And they said, all right, start crawling towards us.
He starts crawling.
I guess dragging his pants.
His pants weren't, maybe his belt wasn't loose.
His pants were starting to fall.
He reached.
to grab his pants to pull it up and do-do-do-d-j-j-j-m they just unloaded on them and that's what they did here
Stevie was laying on that big bottle and you guys know how big champagne bottles are and he
reached in and he went way but I mean it was too late I mean the cops do-d-d-d-every one just
blasted him we see him pull that bottle out shit breaks um Stoney hears the gunshots
because she starts looking around
and then it's too late.
I mean, even, what's his name?
Detective Strode, Jonsie McGinley, he's like,
wait!
He even started to yell and they went in and he ran in
and kind of flipped the kid over and he's like,
fuck, he was all mad and saw that he wasn't,
he didn't have anything.
So a few minutes go by or may I don't know how long,
but Stoney and them all show up and then they go running in
and they see she sees her brother laying there dead and she just runs in there and oh this part was rough
she picks them up and she's holding them just why why and all this and everyone's just like ah
man it's it was a rough scene and they make it all the work as they go to john steed mcginley
they was like he was supposed to go to college sir and he's just like god damn it yeah i mean he knew
they fucked up.
I did like this part when they walked up and
they were like, all right, well, if you got questions,
here's my card.
Cleo just like mean mugged him and just took the card
from him and then Stoney, you motherfucker,
I just tried to jump on him and grab him.
And they all had to hold her back while she's just
crying her eyes out.
I think this was the scene that they added.
They were back at the house and she was
still just crying her eyes out
and she just lost her brother
I can see
why they cut it I mean they
really didn't need to extend that
that scene was sad enough
I mean that you're gonna make it more sad
by adding a little bit more
so this time they're just like
oh man what are we gonna do
so her brothers
oh but before I mean after
after her brother
no after they shot him
the cops ended up going into
the apartment to chase Lorenz and they they all charged in there looking around he wasn't in there
uh the apartment's all all the lights are out and uh all of a sudden you just see this gun
a little mactan i think came out of the out of the closet and just started firing it hit a couple
of the cops and they just unloaded the camera just kind of pulls back and you just see all these
flashes in the windows and everything so they killed him
And then Stoney and all them show up and everything.
So next day they're at work and they're just trying to figure out what they can do.
I mean, earlier, before all of this, they were all talking about what they should do.
And Frankie was the idea.
I was like, you know what we should do?
We should take a bank.
And they're like, what?
And she goes, man, she goes, I know what to do.
And I've seen it before.
and he goes, I, knows all the procedures.
Yeah.
And then they were like, she was like, Lorenz and them couldn't even do it.
And she goes, they didn't know shit.
They goes, I know that I know it.
This is what we, so she had the idea and the plan because she knew the procedures.
So she was like, all, they were like, ah, it was all talk, talk.
Cleo was like, I'm with that.
And Stoney was like, ah, I don't know.
And Titi was just like, oh, she was not having it.
She's just scared.
Yeah, she was definitely not.
out about this life.
So they were kind of like,
all right, man, we can do it.
We can do it.
So they were like, all right, all right.
It was just talk at that time.
They're all at work.
They're cleaning.
And then here comes T.T.
And she has her son with her.
And they're like, what are you doing?
You can't bring him here.
She goes, I don't, I didn't have a babysitter.
I had to bring him.
So they're like, ah, you better not let Luther see him.
So they're cleaning.
and she kind of sets him down and he kind of gets over to the cleaning products we just see him
buy them and then all of a sudden you hear him screaming and crying they all run in there and
I guess one of the cleaning things he picked up maybe put some drink it put in his mouth or
whatever I think it was a bottle of bleach I don't even like the way that smells I don't even want to
know what it tastes like so they rushed him to the hospital and everything and this is
is when child protective service shows up.
Craig's mom.
Yeah, Craig's mom.
Anna Marie Horstford, Mrs. Wells, she shows up and like, hey, we're stepping in.
We're going to have to take your child away.
And they're like, why?
And then she goes, it goes, well, you shouldn't have your child in the workplace.
And they were like, we were watching them.
We're looking at him right there.
And then it's, well, how did this happen then if you guys were,
watching them and but now child when when cps steps in
no matter what you say or do
they already they see the damage
they got a kid in the hospital i mean they're they're just stepping in and
they're going to take uh your kids uh so but it was
i mean that was rough because t t was just ah i can't she was just crying her eyes out
i can't live without him but uh frankie kind of walks up to her goes you
know what you need to do.
And Stoney's kind of,
wait, wait, slow down. And T.T.'s just like
crying. But do we see Cleo
in the back kind of just shaking her head like, all right.
So
they, uh,
oh, they go to, um,
Dr. Drezen. Yeah, what was his
name in this? Black Sam.
Yeah. I don't know
where they're at. Somewhere in some warehouse and it's
basically, um,
got their own shooting range in there.
Yeah.
They're in there just shooting guns.
T.T.
shoots one and just sets it down.
And we see Frankie.
She had two of them.
No, she was shooting one.
Cleo had two.
She had those Desert Eagles.
And she was lighting them up.
And then they go, hey, all right, tell Black Sam, I want to talk to him.
Hey, Black Sam, she wants to talk to you.
He's like, so he comes over and Cleo goes, hey, man.
I need some of this stuff on credit.
And he goes, well, here, I can let you guys leave.
with this and he holds up
this old six shooters she goes
I ain't robbing stage coaches
I need something to set it off with
and he goes we want to hop up those guns
or just shoot and he goes y'all can't afford those
and she goes come on
black Sam all those cars I stole
for you
and he's like
like huh
I can get to me hey tell me what he goes
hook me up with your girl Frankie
and she's like no no
and he goes just
hook me up and I just I'll
pay you interest and that's it
and they're like all right so he gives
them the guns. All right
we get to the bank.
They're all walking in there. They got wigs on
and sunglasses.
They kind of just walk in there
and they're like
Frankie was the first one. She was like
I don't know if we should do this and TT
she just
she just takes off. Yeah she just took off
so she ran out
and then
Frankie
is like,
Cleo,
I don't get,
fuck,
she's just ready to do it.
Frankie's like,
come on, come on.
No, Stoney was like,
I don't know,
we should do this.
Frankie's like,
all right,
all right.
She smiles and just
pulls out her gun
and just walks in
and Cleo runs after,
all right,
everybody freeze,
get down.
And they roll in there
and they rob that bank
and they just run
the hell out of there.
They grab what they can
and just jet it out
and jump in the car.
Oh,
before they got to the bank.
I like this part
because Cleo's
a car and she got in
and she started looking at the CDs
and just throwing them all out
and then she put in
here we go she put it in
and then the bee came on
I ain't no joke
I used to let the mics flow grab
Eric Via Rakim came out
I was like ah yeah
I love that song
anyway so she gets in
and mobs out of there then they go to the bank
rob it and then ah get the hell out of there
and they get back to
Cleo's garage
I assume it's her apartment as well
and they got all this money.
How much did they get?
I don't remember.
It wasn't very much that first time around.
I don't remember exactly,
but I just remember it was like a few thousand dollars split equally.
Yeah, I mean,
I think they just went for the, excuse me,
for the drawers.
I don't think they hit the safe or anything.
But they grabbed what they could
and got the hell out of there
and I don't know, maybe a minute or two if that.
So they're like, yeah.
This was my favorite part too.
Frankie and Stoney are counting the money.
And Cleo's in the back holding that Desert Eagle dancing hell of hard.
And she's back there, what, what pointing her finger?
And then here comes Titi.
She comes walking in and Stoney starts right,
did you lock that door?
Oh, when Titi comes in,
Cleo just
hella quick points that
Big Desert Eagle at her
I don't know if you guys ever
shot a gun like that but that thing's got a kick
and it's loud too
Mike had one
and he let me shoot it
I was like down
I'm not the one for a big cannon
like that but
I always wanted to shoot one
and I was like
that thing like kicked my hand back
357 those things kick too
I hate shotguns man
there's always just tear up my shoulders
But anyway, out in the Riz in Arizona, shoot whatever you want.
You can blow up dynamite and nobody will show up.
Anyway, so they're like, how much did we get?
And some crazy amount of money.
It was a few thousand, but it wasn't enough.
So they're like, all right, so they start counting it up.
Cleo gets hers.
Frankie, Stoney gets hers.
And then they gave some of the TT.
And then Frankie was like, hey, wait a minute.
She don't get a cut.
You know, she didn't even do nothing.
and Frankie
Stoney's like, you know
she needs this money more than any of us.
And then Frankie's like, no.
And then Titi just gets off.
All right.
If you want to beat my ass, then do it.
Because I'm sick of your shit.
I need that money.
And then Frankie just buckles.
You're my girl.
And then you know,
she gives her some money.
So everyone's, ah, hooting and hollering.
Cleo's still.
Yeah, dancing all crazy.
And then goes, who shoots that gun off.
So everyone's got their money.
And they're like, hey, we need to just go back to normal life and just keep working and do what we're doing.
So like, all right.
Well, all right.
Let's go.
So everyone goes back to work.
Then they're doing what they're doing.
And then basically.
I don't think they blew all their money.
Cleo did.
Because she had this, she had this nice ass Impala in the beginning of the movie and it was all junky.
I mean, they looked fine to me and the switches and everything.
It just, the paint job was all crappy.
I kind of like that old beat-up primer-looking paint job.
Because F. Gary Gray, he pulls up with his friend.
He goes, Cleo, when are you going to paint this raggedy shit?
And she's looking at it.
I'm like, oh, her girlfriend.
I don't remember her name, but she was pretty hot.
Cleo's girlfriend.
So we see Cleo and her girlfriend
and Cleo fixed her ride-up.
I don't doubt if it was the same car,
but it was the same model and it was clean,
nice, emerald green, rims, everything.
I don't know the size of rims a tire.
I'm not a little rims guy.
I got big tires on my truck.
I live on the res and the dirt.
So she was like, yeah, she had the switches.
Watch it.
Watch it.
Fuck them.
Now.
You guys see it in the movie.
You know.
I was dying.
I love that part.
So,
and then Stony and in them all come walking.
What the fuck are you doing?
He goes,
how come you haven't been to work?
And,
no,
no, before that,
Cleo was,
her girlfriend is dancing on the hood
and she's got bottled of wine
and everything.
And that's when they come walking.
Where are you been?
How come you haven't been to work?
And she goes, look what I got here.
And she's like hugging and kissing all over her girlfriend's legs.
And they're like, you need to go back to work.
We need to just act like nothing's going on.
You need to go back down there.
Apologize the Luther and get your job back.
And then she goes, she goes, I know all your money's gone now because they point at the car.
And then Cleo's getting all mad.
She jumps up and shoves her gun in Stoney's face.
why did she do that?
What did Stoney say there?
I don't want to remember.
I can't remember either,
but I know Stony wasn't packing down.
I think it was,
because she,
I think he was more like,
she goes, yeah,
I know you're out of money now.
What are you going to do?
And he goes,
I just rob another bank.
And then she,
Cleo's,
or Stoney was like,
we said we're only going to do one.
And that's when Cleo got in her face.
and stuck the gun in the face.
He goes, look, he goes, we need you.
You ain't backing out now.
And Stony's like, you need to get that fucking gun out of my face.
And then Cleo...
So is this where the synopsis comes from, goo-boos?
Is this the turning on each other part?
For like a couple minutes.
Because she pulls a gun down.
And then Stoney just slaps Cleo.
Don't you have a point of gun?
at me again and then Cleo's
about to fight her so he's like ah so
Stoney gets mad and walks out and
Cleo's like
fucking fuck you fuck her
because Cleo got
in her face he goes he goes you my people since
second grade
and then she was they were just
she's droll Stoney even said look
I know you're drunk
but get that gun out of my face
so they kind of just screamed at each other
so get back to work
Cleo's there
cleaning whatever she was cleaning
and Luther comes walking and
I know I don't see what see you showing up
whatever the hell he said
and she's like Luther I need my job back
and what makes you think I'm going to hire you again
because you know
no one can take shit for me like you do
or whatever the else she said so basically
all right I need you so
just get back to work ladies
and gentlemen
so she's they all start cleaning
and Frankie comes down, or Stoney comes down,
sits next to Clio and they kind of just hash it out and everything,
so they're all good.
Is this the Godfather scene?
Yeah.
And they're going all around.
Did, yeah, well, did T.T. get her son back?
I can't remember.
I don't think she got them back.
I think she was doing, like, visitations.
All right.
She still needed to prove or pay for child care.
Yeah.
So, well, they were basically saying, all right, we do need to rob another bank.
So this is when I guess they were going to case downtown federal.
And Stoney went down there.
And this is when she meets, I hate this guy.
I never like it.
Well, I think it was because of Blair,
Underwood, he plays Keith.
If you guys saw Malibu's Most Wanted, I hated him in that movie.
Yeah, she meets him, and he sees her, and he just starts, he throws his Mac down on her, and she went for it.
She bought it all, hook-line and sinker.
So he's just kind of meeting her, and then she gets her number, and they kind of have their little things.
She goes over to his house.
They go out and have a good time.
beats it up and everything's it's pretty much uh with with their relationship but
yeah i feel like this was like a good chunk of the middle yeah they're kind of getting to know
each other so they they do they rob another bank because they go up uh and they they get another
another bank so they roll in there uh t t's with him now she's uh all right we could do it
does do it. So they go in there. They rob this another bank. They bust in there. They get it. They start
robbing. There's a one that looks like it was an undercover cop. Because when they come bust and
everyone get on the ground, he's like kind of leaning down and he's about to pull out his gun.
TTT's right there. She points a gun at him. So he stops. So they grab all the money they could.
They're about to run out. But there's some cops outside.
Um, on Cleo, I think she, yeah, she was outside in the getaway car.
Um, the cops are there.
They were dealing with some homeless guy and whatever.
I guess he was just being crazy on the sidewalks and the cops showed up.
So they were dealing with him.
So clear was like, fuck.
So she kind of just, oh, no way, I don't think she was in the car because she got, I got away.
And I guess she went and stole.
I think she stole another car because they were like, SUV or something like that.
Yeah.
They were like, well.
what are we going to do?
And here comes Cleo crashing through the other side of the bank.
They all jump in and fly out of the thing.
Ah, all that ass.
She's serving it down the street.
And they get away.
And they got way more money this time.
I couldn't tell you how much more.
More than whatever I think it was like maybe triple or what they stole the first time.
I mean, they're like $100,000 or something.
Here comes the part that always pisses me off.
They go and hide it at the building in a vent.
Yeah.
I would,
my money would be nowhere near any place Luther is.
Oh.
Just,
just because of who Luther is.
I mean,
no,
we're not saying to do anything like this,
but don't hide it.
Yeah.
I mean,
they can leave now.
They can be done now and leave.
Yeah, because they were trying to get all this money to leave.
They all wanted to leave.
Yeah, and they don't need to keep working because they're not suspect.
I mean, maybe Frankie for, you know, for being at the bank and being accused of being connected to that one.
But they could have left now.
They could have went and hid this in a airport locker or a bus station locker.
at this time in 1996
before 9-11
for those of you younger listeners
they used to have airport lockers
they used to have lockers at bus stations
there was a bunch of movies and train stations as well
a bunch of movies dealing with people hiding things
in these lockers they could have easily done that
but I don't know
red heat
they had millions of dollars
or whatever
in a bus station.
Yeah, see?
Different time in the 90s, everyone.
They done got rid of those lockers and everything after 9-11.
Anyway, so during all this, I keep forgetting the police.
The police are still trying to figure out who's robbing these banks.
They got video of them, but they really can't tell.
And that's the thing.
Even today in 2023, our cell phones have better cameras than
some of the surveillance stuff.
I'm just like, really?
How come our, our telephones are like full HD, 4K, whatever you want to call it?
And even those little doorbell cameras are, they come out fucking full HD.
And you got some of the security cameras that's, they can't catch nothing.
I mean, the Pentagon.
My favorite.
when you see the security cameras that are like frame by frame.
Yeah.
Like the whole thing.
That's like the Pentagon when the plane went into the Pentagon.
One of the most guarded buildings in America and you got shitty security.
I don't know.
I don't want to get into that.
But anyway, yeah, the video footage isn't the greatest.
Because they had wigs and the sunglasses on.
But they kind of were like, well, what about?
Francesca, that was her name of Frankie was her.
What about her?
But then they're like, what?
He goes, we can't go after her because when they know she's connected with Stoney.
This girl just lost her brother.
We killed her brother.
We can't go after them.
So they're kind of like, all right.
So they kind of just leave them alone.
They're still trying to figure the case out and everything.
So anyways, all right.
So they got the money.
We need to hide it.
Yeah.
This is when they go hide it in the air vents at work and whatever building they were cleaning.
So they're doing their thing.
Shit, where were they?
Oh, no, no.
They show up to work one night and there's somebody else there.
Yeah, like, Hither sold the contract to another business.
Yeah, because they're like, who are you?
And then they're like, oh, I'm so-and-so.
I've taken over this.
Luther retired.
and they're, they, they kind of like, what?
So they all go running, hauling ass to the air vent and their bag of money is gone.
They just stuck in like a plastic bag or something.
See, that's what I'm saying.
Like, as soon as you found out, he retired and is not doing janitorial no more.
The first thing that popped in your head was the money.
Yeah.
That's why they should have never hit any place where Luther was.
And if Luther, I mean, of course,
did steal it.
Leave town.
Don't go down the street and pick up some $2
hooker and go to some
hourly motel.
Anyway, so
they go, they're like,
fuck man, they take all the other money is gone
and they go see
Black Sam.
And they're saying, hey man,
we got done by Luther.
And we need your help. And then he's like,
hey man, that motherfucker did come in here.
was acting shady. He goes he was all cleaned up, uh, perm, jewelry. And then he goes, yeah, he bought a
gun from him. And then they're like, do you know where he is? And he's like, yeah, man, he's at
some motel on whatever, whatever street. And then they're like, all right, man. Because he goes, look,
man, he stole your money. Uh, and he, you know, he stole your interest. Yeah, we can't pay you back
because he stole the money, which means he stole your money. Yeah. So he's like, all right. So he told
him. You go, I tell you what.
He goes, you guys better find them before I do.
And then so they go to the place wherever he's at.
Luther's in there about to bring it to some little hooker that he picked up.
She was rugged, but I guess you don't care.
Something to like it.
He likes them dirty.
Anyway, so he's in there about to get it and they come charging in.
And they got guns on them and everything.
And they started looking around for the money.
Luther's got a gun that he bought under a little snub nose, I think I can't remember.
He pulls out a gun on Cleo because they all just are not really paying attention to him.
And he gets up and points it in her face.
And he's getting ready to shoot Cleo.
And Cleo's like, all right, I'm good, I'm good.
And then he's about to shoot her and then you're some gunshots.
And then the camera swings around and it's T-T.
She shot Luther.
That hooker's still laying there screaming,
and CLEO runs over and just like
Dix through her purse and pulls out her ID
And he goes all right
We know who you are and we know where you live or whatever the hell she said
So she kind of just takes it puts it in her
Her little pocket and they get the hell out of there
I like how that comes into play later
Yeah
Next scene everyone's like the money's gone
They don't know what he did with it
Either hit it somewhere or spent it all
somewhere.
I don't think he, he might have just
hit it somewhere. I mean, they had a ton
of money in that bag. I don't think he went through.
I wouldn't put it past Luther.
Well, maybe he's a
gambler or something and had to pay back
the loan sharks or something. I don't know.
I see him just buying a bunch of shit
he didn't need.
So
the cops are all into it. They
kind of know what's going on.
They have that hooker and then she kind of
said yeah i guess totally yeah some girls came in so uh clio and her girlfriend are walking down
the street and then the cops roll up yeah that's her name did they pick her up and then he's like
oh go go clio's like go tell the girls so we go down to the police station they have cleo and
in a lineup and uh that hooker chick is sitting behind the the mirror and they're like all right
um point out the one who who who
shot Luther.
And Cleo's standing there
and she kind of just taps
her pocket. I like that.
Yeah, like she
took her when she took her ID and put her in
her pocket and then she's just standing
there. And that
that hooker chick, she sees it. And she's
like, this ain't any, I don't know
who these girls are. This ain't them.
And they're basically, they know
Cleo's tied into this.
Because they're like,
you know, it's her.
And she's like, nope, nope, that ain't her.
And then it's like, all right, go get out of here.
So Cleo comes running back to her place.
Everybody's there.
And then they're like, oh, man, she goes, man, we're hot, man.
They're watching us.
We just got to hit another bank and then get the hell out of here.
Yeah, because that's the smart thing to do.
Yeah, right after all that.
And if they know you're on you, you better just, if you're not going to jump down,
you better just lay low and don't do anything.
Yeah, they should have took whatever jury Luther had and sold it.
I don't know.
It's just, it's just crazy that you know they're watching you.
The first thing you said, we got to hit one more bank.
Yeah, so they're like, they're like, oh, yeah, man, bet.
We need to do that.
And they go, we need to hit downtown federal.
And from Stoney's like, no, no, any bank but that.
And they're like, no, she knows that there's tons of money.
Frankie knows there's there's hell of money in there.
That's what we need to hit.
And she was like, no, no, no, we need to,
we need to just either go somewhere else or just get out of here.
And then Cleo's like, no, we're going to do that.
Yeah, because they're like thinking she don't want it because of whether they keep calling him,
a Buffy.
Yeah, I don't remember.
I don't know.
Buffy or something.
You just love with that Buffy.
And I was like, what is that?
I never heard.
heard that before.
Says the women
decide to rob the downtown
federal bank where Keith works.
Consider that Keith's safety
and not wanting him to know
she's a bank robber.
Stony calls Keith and tells him
to meet her at a cafe far
from the bank's location.
All right, yeah, she did that.
She called the bank.
He said, hey, why don't you meet me
at that restaurant that we, our first date?
And they're like, all right.
So, I mean, but before,
was it before she called?
the two detectives show up and kind of just tell the bank,
hey man,
we're letting you know that there's been some robberies going on,
so you guys better be ready.
So that's when Stoney calls him and tells him,
and he's like, all right, well, you better be there.
His wheels are kind of turning.
Like, who knows, we'll see.
So he leaves, and they show up downtown federal,
and they roll in there.
And they, this time they have masks on.
little clear plastic looking masks.
They roll in there and they start robbing the place.
So why they're all the, they got had all the people down.
They're running in.
They're grabbing what they can.
There's an under,
I was a off-duty cop, I believe.
Is that what or what am I thinking of a point break?
That's my break.
What happened?
Because what's her name?
Oh, no.
They have to standoff with the, with the detectives.
Yeah.
Because the detective just left.
So they're still driving maybe a couple blocks away.
But the alarm went off.
The silent alarm tripped.
So they're like, fuck, we're just there.
So they turn around and go racing back.
And the girls are still in there.
So they come charging in.
And they're like, Frankie or Stoney.
And they just like, they're holding their guns.
And they're like, hey, everybody freeze.
And he's like, come on, you guys don't want to do this.
and he goes, Cleo, come on.
And he goes, I was sorry about Stevie, but this is not doing this isn't going to bring him back.
And so they're all standing there.
We're just looking, looks like they were getting ready to give up.
And then this, uh, yeah, this is the old old school Vanguard comes out from behind.
What was thinking.
Yeah, and just started shooting.
Ditch hits T.T.
She goes down.
And then Cleo's hole in a oozy.
and she just, ah, and just starts gunning the place up.
They grab TT and everything, and they all just get the hell out of there.
They jump in the car and then just take off.
They leave with some bags of money.
So they jet, they go driving, and they're like, come on, we need to get to, they would have got caught if they would have got to the hospital.
But they were thinking about their friend.
We got to get her hospital.
We got to get our hospital.
And they're like, we got to get out of here.
They're just hauling ass down the road.
They get to Cleo's car.
But T.T. doesn't make it.
She ends up dying.
So they're like, they're all just like, we got to get out of here.
So they kind of just leave her there.
Stoney gives her little kiss and then they just get in the car,
Cleo's car and take off.
So they're hauling ass down the road trying to get out of L.A.
But cops, everybody's running after them.
They go down this tunnel.
It's one of those tunnels that's in like every movie.
So they go driving down.
I think it was that tunnel where Terminator was chasing Sarah Connor and Reese when they were throwing the pipe bombs at them.
Anyway, so they kind of stop in the middle of that.
They're like, all right, what are we going to do?
He goes, all right, Cleo tells him, look, you two get out.
I'm going to go this way.
Give me a few minutes and you guys run the other way.
And they're like, no, we shouldn't separate.
And he goes, come on, we'll do it.
I'll meet you guys wherever.
So they jump out and kind of just hide.
Cleo just hauls ass.
There's helicopters
pretty much at either end
of kind of just hovering there.
And she goes hauling ass full speed
and just, all right, it's you and me.
Ah, just hauling up, but the helicopter pulls up.
She goes hauling ass out.
So Frankie and Stoney go running the other way
and they kind of get away.
All right, I got an issue with this, everyone.
Anyway, so Cleo's a hauling ass down the road.
Cops are chasing our helicopters.
It's all over the news.
what was Cleo's girlfriend's name?
Ursula.
Ursula.
She's watching the news because she sees Cleo's car.
Black Sam and the gang are watching it.
And they're like, oh, man, they're done.
Everybody's watching the news at this time.
Yeah.
Keith, he, after Stoney didn't show up, he ends up going back to the bank.
And he knows what's happening.
So the cops are charged.
chasing Cleo and she kind of just
little standoff. She's stopped.
Cops are all around just around in her.
She's sitting there like
this is it.
Sad music playing.
I couldn't tell you the artist is.
But if that's the music
fit to this scene, Cleo just kind of lights
a cigarette. Takes a couple
puffs, looks around. Fuck it.
Throw it in gear and plow.
Hulls ass towards the cops and they all just
unload on the car.
Did you just gun her up?
hit a couple times and she just kind of rolls and stops.
Frankie and...
Well, Cleo's not done.
Oh, no, but...
She got to jump out the car and do the final.
I think right before that, Frankie and Stoney kind of get away.
They separate from each other, like, all right, you go this one, I'm going to go that way,
and then they both go run in their separate directions.
Cleo's
Hawn ass, yeah, she gets all shot up
and then she stops.
The cops are all kind of surrounding
the car. But then Cleo
just bust out the door and
pulls out the Ouzi and just starts
firing in every direction and they just
unload on her.
Queen Lativa's been in a ton of movies.
She's good and just about everything that I've
seen her in. He'd be it comedies
or sci-fi movies
or whatever thing that she pops up in.
But she did this role good because when she,
she played it off good, too, getting shot.
Because she just kind of stumbles all over the place.
The effects are really good for the 90, mid-90s.
And she just falls to the ground.
It was all in slow motion, too.
So she's laying there like, oh, she's laying there.
She's dead.
What's her girlfriend's name?
I want to say, um, Ursula.
She's watching the news.
She's crying.
And even the news guys like, oh, this is a horrible moment.
I assume they showed it on the news.
Usually the cameras pull away from it.
But they're like, fuck, man.
Not this news station.
No, so they figure, all right.
He's gone.
Speaking of dog shit, that smells up.
Must be from outside.
He doesn't come in here because I'll, I'm not, I don't abuse animals.
But he better that of shit.
near. Must be from outside or something.
But anyway.
So Cleo's dead.
Then we go to a scene.
Stoney's running.
She just kind of, like she was running to a parking lot or something.
Then she comes out and there's this bus.
One of those tour buses or tour crews or whatever that's going to Mexico.
Because she just kind of blends in with the crowd, puts on a sombrero and gets on the bus.
They clearly don't check for tickets.
Yeah.
The bus goes.
Then we flash over,
and Frankie's kind of standing in the street
and there's cops all behind her.
She can't outrun them.
They're standing in the middle.
I don't know why she was in the middle of the street.
She should have been hiding in the shadows or something.
But they're like, just Frankie, just stay there, just give up.
And, um,
John T. McGinley's character, Detective Strode, he's walking up and goes, look, Cleo's dead. T.T.'s dead. I don't know what to tell you. Just don't do this. He takes off his gun and everything. And he kind of walks up on her. And then she turns around. She's got her gun. And he goes, person's got a gun to your head. What's the procedure? And he's like just looking at her and just kind of just don't do this. And then she just.
Fucking procedure.
Yeah.
Well, this is all happening.
Other than you got the whole police force pointing guns at her.
And traffic is still going.
But the bus that Frankie's on or Stoney's on stops.
And clearly the cops don't care.
They usually say watch your background.
But then Frankie's got the gun to detect a Strode's head.
And then she just turns around, starts running.
And then all the cops just do you just unload on her.
Yeah, well, I got it.
Pedestrians in the back there.
Yeah, I got a busload of seniors going to Mexico to party.
I don't know.
It's a movie, everyone.
So Stoney sees the cops kill Frankie.
And then she goes down and detector stroves like, fuck.
Not another one.
so he kind of
saying he looks at Frankie
she's laying her dead then he kind of glances up
and looks over at the bus and he sees Stoney
on there and she's just
looking straight at him
he's looking at her and she's crying
and I think at this point
he just said just fuck it
let her go
he owed her this one
yeah three of her friends are dead
her brother's dead
so she just
went off to Mexico
T.T. Son has to go in foster care now.
Oh, yeah. I mean, everything, they lost everything.
Do they need to rob the banks? No, they didn't. But it was a good story. Anyway, so Frankie's in Mexico.
I don't know how much money she's got because she just, she got a, she had a bag of money and Frankie had a bag of money.
But the cops got that one. I don't know if Cleo had money in the car. I don't know if Cleo had money in the car.
doubt it. I think she just gave it them to him to get out of there.
So she's crying and
I guess she's
I assume she's safe in Mexico
because she cuts off her little braid
she had.
But then
we see Keith, he's at work,
his phone rings, she picks it up
and he's
hello and there's no answer
and then he kind of, is this you?
And she's like
yeah.
I just want to let you know
I'm all right and hope you have a good life
and you're like, I are you too.
Sorry for everybody that died and robbing your bank.
Yeah, so
she just,
we see her just mobbing down
some dirt road or whatever
at Mexico.
And I assume she just rode off into the sunset
with all their money and I don't know if she ever came back to America
but she was on the run.
and I don't know how the laws work
if they
If you were to leave the country and run
I mean, doesn't the other
authorities down there
Like if they find you
Do they ship you back to America?
I don't know how it works
It's Mexico
They might take all her fucking money
Yeah
But
Yeah, that's set it off
She
brought off into the sunset.
I mean, I'm glad
they didn't do a sequel. They clearly
could have started it off, set it off
to a manhunt
for Stoney in Mexico.
She set it off at Mexico.
I don't know. I mean, I'm glad this movie was
just the one. Yeah.
Yeah, they could have made more the further
adventures of Stoney, but
no, I think this one was good.
Yeah, again, it came out November 6th of
96.
Line Cinema, F. Gary Gray.
The budget was $9 million and a boxed office, $41.6 million.
That ain't bad for 96.
Yeah, it did good in the box office and maybe helped F. Gary Gray make something next.
Did he do Friday after this?
No, he did Friday before set it off.
I think all that money he got did the negotiation.
he did the Italian job
he did him he did
man apart be cool
law by a citizen
that was hella good I like that one

and a man apart or be cool.
Law-body citizen was hell good.
Strait of the Fierrez. I don't even
remember this one. They all blend
together.
All right, everyone set it off. That was
my pick.
What do you got for us?

the box office, we are going to do the

that's the worst.
It must be pretty good.
Yeah,
because I didn't care for the second one.
I mean,
it was,
it was all right.
But I didn't,
I didn't like the first one I left to theater,
like,
