Hey man, I know this is personal.
That's how you'll fail.
No speeches, no talking.
You point the gun.
You shoot the gun.
Welcome back everybody to a brand new episode of THR presents stream themes.
I'm your host Brian.
With me as always is my brother Nez.
What's up, man?
Yo, what is up, everybody?
We are finally back.
I think we took like a year.
hiatus.
I went to, when
we just, for those you that just
listen to
action returns,
I went back to go, damn, when did
we record the last one? Dude, it was like
almost a year ago. If it wasn't
a year, it was either
shy a year or
over a year. And I was like,
damn,
I mean, okay. I mean,
I didn't realize it was that long.
I thought it was just like a couple
months, but
we've been
busy doing this and that, regular
shows and life and everything,
but we're,
we're back.
Let's, uh, hopefully we can, uh,
not be gone a year.
So, but
let everyone know what we're doing.
We are here to talk about
2013's crime thriller
Blue Ruin.
I apologize for the mystery.
You're not in a trouble.
I just thought you should be somewhere safe when you found out.
Everything's fine.
Two, three.
It's an awful thing he did to them.
Three.
I don't mean to scare you.
I'm just going to hold you here for a little while you breathed.
The IMDB, a mysterious outsider's quiet life is turned upside down when he returns to his childhood home to carry out an act of vengeance, proving himself an amateur assassin.
He winds up in a brutal fight to protect his estranged family.
I don't necessarily know if I agree with that whole.
Let me see what IMDB's got.
IMDB is exactly the same as Google.
So we'll go to this is written and directed by Jeremy Solnare.
people might know him best from
Green Room
starring Anton Yelchen, rest in peace.
Yep.
This stars
Macon Blair,
Devin Ratre, aka Buzz McAllister,
Amy Hargraves,
Kevin Collick,
and
a bunch of people that I've never heard of.
Did you know that was Buzz from Home Alone?
Yeah.
I've seen him in some other movie,
and he was in that last Home Alone movie.
Yeah, he was like the cop, right?
Yeah.
Officer McAllister.
And Makin Blair has been in a ton of stuff,
but recently he directed the Texas,
not Texas, my mind somewhere else,
the toxic adventure, the one with Peter Dinklage.
He directed that?
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
So, Nez, is this your first time seeing Blue Ruin, or have you seen it before?
No, this was my first time.
I, I've heard of it.
I've heard people saying it's a good film, check it out, but I've never just,
just forget about it.
and don't even try to uh i know when i'd scam things uh scan in prime or whatever i'll see it and go
the name comes out to me but i didn't read into anything on what it was about or who was in it so i was
like oh okay it's the movie everyone keeps telling me to watch but i'll find something else to watch
or i'll watch something that i've seen a billion times like thrashing that's always uh
and always a good one to have on while I'm cleaning or doing something else.
So, but yeah, Brian brought this to us.
We were supposed to do above the rim, but that kind of disappeared.
Well, I guess things change after a year.
It doesn't fit into the, we have to find something streaming.
It's like you said, we waited months.
So if we would have did it when we were supposed to, it would have been said and done.
but yeah uh this movie was awesome i was like glued to my chair and i was just like what's happening
what's going on here and i was just i had questions and i was just i loved uh the acting i loved
the cinematography the little light score that was in the background and just the suspense
of what's what's going to happen next what's what's around the corner who who's who's coming to the
house and I was like what oh man and this happening to Dwight I didn't I didn't know it was going to go
this way because it starts off like with some hobo and I'm like okay what's what's going
I figured maybe he was going to do something and then the the story was going to
to begin, but this story had already began.
This is kind of, I would say, in the middle of this guy's life on what was happening and
what was to come.
So I was like, I was kind of confused.
You could see that it's an artsy film, the way they shot it and how they set up each
scene.
So I was kind of like, okay, I haven't seen enough movies like this to appreciate it.
But then once everything starts going, I was like, whoa, okay.
I see what's happening here, but I don't know why this is happening.
And I was still kind of confused until we got to the end.
And I was like, oh, okay.
But I have a question when we get to the end of this.
When did you see this?
I saw this after Green Room came out.
I really love Green Room, and I looked up to director Jeremy Solnair, and I just kind of watched his whole filmography, and this was one of them.
And I recognized Maken Blair from a few different movies.
He pops up a lot in Jeremy's movies.
He was in Green Room.
That was when I first noticed him.
He was, do you remember that movie well?
of not really okay he was one of the skinheads like one of the nazi skinheads yeah he was the
one of the nazi skinheads that ends up going to get help okay and i found out that he was uh
in blue ruin also he was starring in it so i was like okay i like i liked i like this performance
good enough in green room so i'll give it a try and love this movie i love the suspense
the revenge aspect of it.
I was kind of there with you,
question on what's going on,
but when it gets revealed at the end,
I'm just kind of like,
oh, that's even more fucked up
than what he initially thought happened.
Yeah.
And this movie's violent.
And the protagonist,
like, you,
when you get introduced to different members of the family,
you kind of hate them all.
for different reasons.
And, yeah, I just thought this was a fantastic film.
So blue ruin was the car, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's what I figured.
I was like, what's this blue ruin?
Then I realized, oh, the car's blue.
And it's just beat to hell.
I don't even know what kind of car it is.
It's nothing like fancy or anything.
It's just a normal little blue set.
Dan that just looked like
it went through a war.
At first I thought he was just
living in an abandoned
car.
Because like I said, we see Dwight.
We just see him kind of
just doing his thing.
When we first get introduced to him,
he's taking a bath in somebody else's house.
Oh,
I'm watching, I must be watching
a different version then.
Because the one,
I watched that one on Prime, but I have it going on right now on YouTube, if you guys have YouTube premium.
They're showing him he's doing his hobo stuff. He's at a carnival. He's digging in the garbage can.
Yeah, that's after the Prime one.
Okay. So he's just eating food out of the garbage can.
And he gets to his car and then he kind of just sets up for the night.
Again, I thought this car was abandoned.
Because, yeah, the one on Prime, this must just be a different cut.
Because, yeah, the one on Prime, he was, he broke into someone's house and took a shower.
And then did someone come home?
Yeah, somebody came home.
Yeah, the family came.
I'm assuming he thought they were gone on vacation or they were gone on vacation.
I'm watching it right now.
The parents and the kids are walking into the house and he's jumping out the side window,
but naked.
Okay, because mine on the screen right now is he's sleeping in his car,
and then the police officer comes up and knocks on it.
So, and she kind of just tells him, yeah, he was kind of like,
well is this for the house and she's like no no I mean everything's fine you're you're not in trouble
I just want you to come with me so he kind of just goes okay so he goes with he goes with her to the
police station and she kind of gives in the news like well I just wanted to bring you someplace safe
to tell you this and she lets him know that somebody just well she doesn't really say anything
really she's kind of like well we just wanted to let you know then it kind of skips
forward.
All she said is he's getting out.
Yes, because we see him walking down the road.
And she had this like newspaper article.
And he's kind of like looking at it.
We don't see what it is yet.
But then he leaves the police station and he's walking down, down the road.
And he's holding the paper that it is.
And they haven't have to rewatch this again on YouTube.
see if they're going to add more to it.
Was that the unrated one that was on?
I got to pull it up right now.
It doesn't stay unrated.
Okay.
Because the next scene on the one I have on,
he's walking down the boardwalk
and he catches a fish and guts it.
Yeah, I got that scene right now.
and then he's
I don't know if he's just swimming
or if he's bathing in the ocean
but he goes into the store
and he buys a map, a road map
and then he goes to his car
and kind of gets all his gear
and everything together.
He was like earlier he was picking up
like recycling
like bottles and cans and all that
and then he went and got money
so I assume he got money for gas.
He takes his battery out of the trunk
and then he hooks it up
and then start.
starts his car. I mean, that's, that's pretty good, man. You got your car just sitting there
and you don't want it to just die. So, or people come along and, and try to steal your battery,
thinking this is an abandoned car. So he gets his car going, boom, heads on down the road. He kind of
goes into some kind of little pawn shop and he's looking around. He's looking at the guns.
I don't think he has enough to get one,
but he ends up just getting like a postcard.
Then he writes to somebody, we don't know at this point.
He was thinking about stealing a gun.
That's how you know he doesn't have much,
but he looked up and seen the cameras.
Yeah.
So he writes his postcard, then he sends it.
And then we see the next scene.
We see him in the parking lot of a bar at night,
and he's like trying to open up cars and check for things.
he finds a truck that he opens up and he ends up finding like a gun a gun box so he's like
oh cool i got a gun but then when he's hauling ass down the street he opens it up and he realizes
the gun has a gun lock uh or a trigger lock so he's like damn so he takes the the gun out to
i don't know the beach or somewhere and he's got a crowbar and he's trying to just see if he can
just break that lock off but you ain't you ain't breaking that off
He ends up basically breaking the gun.
Yeah, but that lock was still good, though.
Yeah, the lock was still on there.
It's a revolver, and he knocked out the little bullet chamber thing.
So he's like, F it.
So he just grabs his gun and he just goes to the waste garbage can and just throws the gun in there.
So hopefully his gun, whoever he stole finds it.
I'm sure.
Well, I don't know, man.
When guys empty garbage, they just empty and don't really look in there.
But so anyway, so because when he got his car going, he grabbed the road map at a store.
And then he just kind of drove.
Next thing we know, we see him sitting outside of a prison.
He's just a bottle.
Yeah.
He was just sitting.
Who knows how long you were sitting there.
Obviously, whatever he read, because on the article, all we read is a headline saying that,
double
murder guy gets out of jail.
So, okay, so we know
something happened. Because we don't
really know what's going on yet.
We just think he's a hobo and he's following
this person. He's outside
of the prison and he sees somebody,
some guy come out.
He gets into a limo.
And then so he's kind of like,
all right. So he goes and follows
these people. He follows them to some little
roadhouse, uh,
bar cafe
and he kind of goes inside
and he looks around
he ends up hiding in the bathroom
oh he grabbed like a little
knife that was
yeah it was
the
wasn't the knife he had when he was
getting the fish
cleaning fish okay a little cleaning knife
a small little skinny blade
nothing thick
can easily bend it and break it
but anyway so he's hiding in his stall
And so, and he's scared because we see his hand and shaking,
and he's holding that little skin, that little fish gutting knife.
So he looks in through the cracks and he sees that it's the guy that got out of prison.
So he kind of just jumps out of nowhere, stabs that guy in the throat.
And then he kind of falls down for a minute.
And then he's like, he doesn't know, like,
that guy kind of comes to and sits back up.
And then he just stabs him like,
right in the temple and then just pulls it out and blood starts squirting out so he's like
so he gets up watches his little knife off and then slowly casually walks out of the bar
uh he gets back to his car he jumps in and he realizes that he doesn't have his keys to the car
and then he kind of like oh man they go back to the body in the um no first uh before he goes to his car
he slashes the tires
to the limbo of the front
tire and he cuts his hand.
Yeah, he tried to just run up and stab
that tire and just ended up
well, it stabbed it, but he ended up
slicing his hand.
He sliced his hand. Good, I'm looking at it
right now. That's a sharp little knife.
Yeah, because it looks like a deep cut
because it's like just black
blood pouring out of him.
Now he realizes he don't have his keys.
He left him. I was on
a necklace and the guy ripped it off.
when they were struggling.
Yeah, because they go back to the body,
and his keys are laying next to him.
But then, by then, somebody comes in, like,
what the fuck?
And they're like, oh, no.
So he goes over to the limo that the guy they picked up,
that guy from prison, he gets in,
he finds the keys,
and then he starts the car up,
and then, boom, he takes off out of there.
Is that a thing, the car keys in the visor?
some people
I mean
guys are familiar
with Terminator 2
that's where he found
but he gets in that limo
and hauls ass
the people that were in the bar
come running out
the tire's flat
it's on the passenger side
and he said
he's got that knife sticking in it
he said F it and just punches
it and he must be losing
a lot of blood because he's starting to fade
but he ends up just kind of hauling ass down the road
I don't know how far he had went
but then he notices somebody's banging around behind him so he turns around really quick
and he notices that there's somebody in the car in the back of the limb also yeah young guy
yeah he pulls over and that young kid gets out and looks at him and he's kind of like uh
don't don't hurt me and then he's like uh he said he said did you kill Wade
Oh, yeah.
And he said, yeah.
And then he said something, what did he say?
He said, he didn't.
Oh, he said, Wade hurt my parents.
And he said, no, he didn't.
Yeah, because the kid says, yeah, I don't, I don't think he did.
And then he kind of, he just starts running down the road.
And it's a young dude.
I'm suspecting he was sitting in the limo because he couldn't get into the bar.
Yeah, because he was listening to music.
guess so um what's this guy's name again wait Dwight he kind of just leaves because
that that that limo I guess you got to just leave it there uh he ends up kind of just walking
down the woods uh and he's just kind of just getting out of there he just trying to
leave the scene of the crime he ends up going to uh some housing development place
and he goes into one of the bathrooms
and he looks like a hobo
he's got long hair
not really long but like just long for him
he's got big old bushy
hillbilly gym
beard so he goes into his house
cuts his hair, shaves all the
his beard off takes the shower
I don't know whose house this is
I assume he's lucky and no one came home
so he just made
himself at home got his got the
person's clothes, whoever lived there, got himself something to eat, watch the little TV
to try to see. Yeah, I think he was checking to see if, uh, what he did was on the news or not.
Yeah, but he doesn't, he doesn't see anything. He doesn't hear anything. So he's kind of like,
all right, well, well, I guess nothing's happening. I'm out. Uh, we go to another house.
We see a young woman and, uh, she's babysitting these kids. But then the, oh, the mom of the house.
She kind of she's getting in her car and she's about to leave.
So she's pulling out of the driveway.
And she kind of looks in the rear of mirror and she sees Dwight.
And he, we kind of get to, I kind of get the feeling like, okay, then she knows him.
Because then she turns around and says his name.
And he's like, oh, hey, what's up?
And so he's kind of like, oh, she's like, all right, well, come on.
Let's, uh, let's go.
So she kind of goes, she was on her way for something to, to something.
but she takes him just to,
because she hadn't seen him for,
I don't know how long,
quite a while because she's got two kids
and her kids are kind of big.
Yeah, they said years.
Yeah, so,
but at this point,
well, we kind of know somebody got killed,
but we don't know who and why.
But we kind of figured that whoever died
is in relations to these two.
Because she's kind of like, well,
all right,
what do you need money and he's like no no and he's he asked she goes is this because that guy guy at
jail and he's like yeah yeah but she's kind of like all right well what are we going to do and he's
kind of like well i don't know i just need to just figure this out but then she kind of tells
them like um i guess all the money from their i guess their estate from their parents or whatever
You're kind of slowly starting to figure out who got killed.
Yeah.
She said there's some money that was for him, but he doesn't want it.
He doesn't want nothing from the house or anything.
He's told her she can keep it all.
Yeah.
Because then she was telling him, oh, he goes, they did the car.
He goes, why didn't you just put it in your name?
Because it's still kind of registered to all them.
and he's like,
ah,
well,
he said he still had it.
So she's kind of like,
all right.
But then he's talking to her.
And then he kind of realizes,
like,
when she mentions that it's still,
um,
registered,
he's kind of like,
uh,
uh,
okay.
Then it comes to him.
He's like,
what's up?
Where's your kids?
And then she goes,
oh,
they're at home.
And then he's like,
come on,
we got to go.
So he just,
they get in the car.
hauling ass back to her house.
She's trying to call the babysitter,
but the babysitter isn't answering
and he's all scared. She's all scared.
They get to the house.
Kids are fine.
Babysitter's fine.
What was the babysitter doing?
It's like standing outside.
I think she was outside
and didn't have her phone on her.
That's about as much as I can think.
But his,
we do figure out this is his sister
and she's kind of like
get out of here.
I don't want you around here and he's like, well, if the car is registered to this address, they might come.
She kind of really wasn't buying it at first, but then he's like really just kind of sincere.
Like, look, I'm worried about you and the kids.
Why don't you go to Pittsburgh or wherever he said?
So she kind of like, all right.
So she packs up the kids and she takes off.
and he's like well all right
we'll just be safe so then we have this whole montage
of him trying to get ready
just in case somebody comes
nightfall comes and he's outside waiting
he notices he hears something
so he kind of looks outside
and then he notices
I'm jumping forward because it was a lot of him
just walking around the house
trying to just look at things
and he finds
some old records of his parents and all that and
he finds an old yearbook that he had.
Basically reminiscing.
Yeah. But when he hears something,
he goes out to the front window and he looks out
to the front to the street and he sees his car
sitting there. Can't miss it.
He'll beat up Buick or Oldsmobile or whatever it was.
So he's kind of like, fuck. So he kind of just
sees the heat and we can see and I'm
sure he can he can see there's two people sitting in the car so he runs around he kind of went and got
some like some what he asked her before she left if she had a gun and he he said she goes no they're
like what do you think i got kids so he kind of goes into the tool shed and gets like a pitch fork
and some of those things so he goes around he uh turns on the lights upstairs and and turn
over the open turns on the sink faucet so it sounds like water's running
and then he's just kind of lingering around getting ready for him.
They eventually kind of get into the house, but then he, like,
this is the part I didn't get.
He's got a flashlight, and he's looking around,
and then when the guys get into the house,
he's like hiding, I don't know, behind something, behind the couch or something,
but he wouldn't turn his flashlight off.
I was like, if you're looking around in a dark house,
I'm sure somebody would see that light, but.
Yeah, like, what was he couldn't figure out the switch?
He was like trying to unscrew it and take it apart.
So he's lurking around still with his flashlight on.
He ends up getting out of the house.
Oh, somebody went upstairs.
He runs out of the house.
He's running down.
Somebody that's up in the, in the, of the room upstairs.
We hear something fly by.
And he's like, ah, he runs to his car.
He's about to get into it.
Oh, because he got the, uh,
the extra key, his spare key that he had at the house.
So he starts his car up.
Whoever's in the house comes running down the stairs with a shotgun.
He's out in the street and, Blu-Dwight hits the first guy.
His gun goes flying.
He falls down and gets knocked out.
The guy was there was a guy up in the upstairs room with a crossbow.
That's what he was shooting at him.
That was that sound.
So he's like, shit.
He gets out of the car.
He grabs the dude that he hit.
And he goes,
So he coming after her or me?
And then that guy's knocked out.
So another arrow comes shooting by.
Dwight runs over and grabs a shotgun.
He points it at him and do shh.
No, he didn't shoot it.
He didn't know how to shoot.
Yeah, the guy took off running and he chased him.
Yeah, so he goes back to his car.
And he's getting in his car.
Well, he's picking up the dude.
And then while he's doing that, he gets hit with the arrow.
in the right leg
in the side.
And he's,
ah,
he already has that guy in the trunk.
And then he just hauled ass out of there.
The dude that shot him with the arrow kind of sees him.
But then Dwight just like takes off down the road.
And he's like,
fuck.
So he kind of goes over to the dude in the trunk.
He seems to be knocked out.
I thought he was dead.
But Dwight just starts throwing
everything out of his trunk.
Anything that could be a weapon.
Yeah, he's got like a hammer,
a hacksaw,
and some other things.
But he goes over and he sticks that arrow
still sticking out of his leg.
He kind of closes it in the door,
and then he gets that hacksaw and just
like cuts it. So it's
he can walk around without it look like
in an arrow sticking out of him.
He goes into this hardware store,
buys all kinds of stuff.
Alcohol.
rubbing alcohol, peroxide,
some fishing line or whatever that was,
sewing the thread.
And he goes over and he's trying to
basically fix his leg
because he's bleeding out.
I like the scene where he pays for the stuff
and the pharmacist sees the blood on the money.
And he's just like, well, I kind of,
then he's just like, never mind.
But yeah, he does what he
could with all the stuff that he bought, but it's...
The scene was rough.
Yeah, it just wasn't happening.
I mean, I don't know what kind of
head that was, the arrowhead that waited
to, but yeah, he kind of got his alcohol, dumped
it all over. He had these little pliers that he had. He stuck it
into his leg, he grabs the arrow, and then just
pulls it out.
And then he kind of just couldn't take it and then passes out.
But yeah, man, he was like, ah, but I mean, you can't go to the cops.
But yeah, when he does it, he's wiggling it and wiggling it and trying to get it.
And I guess he just couldn't because then he ends up hobbling to the hospital,
blood all over himself.
He kind of gets up to the desk and then just passes out.
Yeah, it says I had an accident with my.
leg and then he wakes up he's in his hospital bed everything hooked up to him they fixed up his
legs stitched them up and everything pulled the arrow out but he kind of like wakes up like wow fuck
i mean what what am i doing here so he just kind of just unhooks everything and gets the hell out of
there he ends up going back to where he hit his car yeah he gets in it and then he takes off
and that dude is still in the trunk
because he kind of goes over and knocks on it
and that guy, he's like, oh, fuck.
So he heads out.
Yeah, this is totally different
because I don't remember this scene right now.
He's sitting in his car looking at his yearbook.
I must have not been paying attention
because, yeah, that whole scene in the beginning
in the shower isn't even in this isn't even in this one.
uh because that back you did you get the scene where he goes to the donation bin to get closed uh i think i think
i think that went over that because he's he's looking at his um yearbook and he hears that guy
yelling um in the background or in the in the trunk and he's telling him shut up yeah that's not
in the amazon one yeah see this is totally different he uh see this scene right here i don't remember
this either. He, um, he's looking at the yearbook and he sees, uh, the picture of buzz. He's buzz. I don't,
I don't know his name of the movie, but he goes over to, uh, his house and he's talking to his mom.
And she kind of doesn't, uh, she doesn't remember him. She's like, all right, well, she, he invites
her in and tells him that, uh, here's, uh, here's his address. So he's, she's talking about him being
deployed in Japan. So he's kind of like, oh, okay. So, so.
She's like, oh, well, are you in a rush?
He's like, yeah, well, sort of.
Oh, that scene is in the Amazon one.
Oh, this one is?
I don't remember this.
Yeah, the yearbook, and he looks back and tells the guy to shut up,
and then it cuts to him going to the moms.
Does he go in the house and talk to her?
Yeah, she offers him tea.
Yeah, I must have not been paying attention during this.
Yeah, she was like, I suppose you don't have time for tea,
and then he said, I would love some.
yeah so after that he ends up going to some uh little club and there's uh he's walking through
and some bands on i couldn't tell you who it is some made up blue ruin band when he's looking
for um someone he goes yeah i'm looking for one of the the band members uh his name is ben and she's
kind of like uh all right and he goes then he goes oh do you mean ben he goes yeah is he here and goes that
he works at the bar he's not in the band and he goes oh okay that's fine and then he goes where
where is he and he kind of goes outside and he's he's kind of lingering around uh waiting for
him to come out and so while he's sitting there looking around um obviously he feels better
i mean the the the color came back to his face because he when he before he went into the hospital
he was like pale white and everything so he's out hanging out hanging out
out by the dumpster. Ben comes out and then he kind of, he calls him. But he's buzz. He's got
headphones on. Yeah, we'll just call him buzz. Yeah, he doesn't know. He can't hear him. He's like,
because he keeps going up, hey, hey. And he finally kind of turns around, looks at him. And then he's
like, oh, hey. And then he's looking at him. And he's like, oh, wow, man, what's up? And he's kind of
just talking to him. He's like, yeah.
In their conversation, they kind of let you know how much of how he just disappeared out of everyone's life.
Because he said the first couple hundred miles in this truck right here, I was passing out your flyer.
Yeah.
So, I mean, this is someone that he's known a while since at least high school.
Because he's telling him, he's kind of like, yeah, I kind of, I need something.
He's like, okay.
So the next thing you know, they're at Buzz's house.
And then he starts talking about some Polaroid that he has of him and the two of them with some stripper.
But he's kind of like, I need to hurry.
So can we do this?
And he's like, all right.
So he takes him over to his little gun locker and starts pulling out all these like old hunting rifle type of thing.
These are those like rifles they use in the Civil War with big long barrel rifles.
And he's kind of telling like, hmm, okay.
well you don't look like you weigh too much so
he was going to give him like
one of those 22 German
pistols
and he's asking him all kinds of questions
he's like close quarter or far away
yeah he's just like what
and he's like up close or far
you know you're going to be far away you're going to be up
close
and he tells him like
because he's about to tell him what what it's for
and he's like uh-uh I don't want to know
because I don't want to be
an accomplice.
Yeah, so he pulls up this
rifle and he's like, you recognize it?
And he's like, he's just looking at it.
Then he goes, the 18 team, the 18 theme.
And he goes, that's kind of 18 has.
Well, well, it's different.
But while he's talking to him, he does notice.
He says 18s was chrome.
Yeah, he notices little blood stain on his pants.
And then he's kind of like, well, I know.
Yeah.
yeah don't don't tell me what's happening i like how he gives him the talk here
explaining how to use the gun and then he tells them when you when you do it
don't know speeches no conversation yeah because if you if you talk you ain't gonna do it
yeah he was he was straight up with him but he was kind of telling him look man i can
show you how to do it all he's like uh i just i just i just
need it's somewhere quiet to go to do it and then he asked him been a buzz the question he was like
have you ever killed anyone he said twice on purpose yeah i was like what does that mean
i don't know he killed someone so he tells him because yeah man if you want somewhere to shoot man go
straight down this road i own all this property and you can yeah like 13 acres he goes it's pretty
quiet down there you can take some shots down there so he drives all the way down the end of this road
um and then he finally kind of stops and looks and he goes over and he pops the trunk to the um
to his little car and then the dude comes out of it and he's like oh man because he's like
just he's been it's been like days this guy's been in the trunk but he kind of lets him know like yeah
I don't think I'm going anywhere, man.
I broke my leg.
And he's kind of like, all right, whatever.
So he asks him, he's like, look, are you,
were you coming after me or her?
And he's kind of like, well, well, were you?
And I think he said, I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of knowing or something.
Yeah, but he had like a jug of water.
So he kind of gave him some water.
And he's just trying to talk to him.
Basically, trying to get some information out of this guy.
and he's kind of not
kind of giving him what he wants to hear,
but not really sure.
And he just kind of doesn't trust him,
but he keeps telling him, like,
well, you got the gun.
And then he kind of did ask him, like,
well, he didn't think anything of it.
Because, I mean, he was like,
there's nothing on the news.
Is he all right?
And then he's kind of like,
nah, we want to kind of keep this in-house.
And then so he does tell him,
And he, because he kind of finds out that he didn't.
The guy that got out of the prison, the guy that he killed, he didn't kill his parents.
Yeah.
So he's kind of like, wait a minute, what?
And he's just, the guy's just going into this big explanation on what's kind of what he wants to hear.
And Dwight is still like not sure.
well, if this guy is telling the truth or not.
And he's kind of like, well, why don't you just kind of, we can figure this out.
Well, basically let me go.
And he's kind of like, not really having it, but he's looking at the gun.
He's looked at you.
They can't go far, man.
You're the one with a gun.
So he's like, hmm, all right.
So he kind of puts the gun down.
And then he's telling him, well, what should he have done?
and he's telling him who's killing who killed him and he's like well he didn't really want to tell
him who was gun who but then Dwight started pointing the gun at him like some more and then he like
shot and then he just basically just hit the the trunk in that guy I mean that's something that
guy realized that he can't shoot because he was basically point blank right in front of him and
still missed unless he was trying to miss so but he was saying that uh
Their father, Big Wade, is the one that killed Dwight's dad.
Because Dwight and his sister thought that Wade, the guy, the guy in jail, is the one.
The son, because these guys are all brothers.
Yeah, he goes, he kind of thought that Wade Jr. killed Dwight.
Dwight's dad
And then he's kind of like what and he goes
No my dad did it
And then he's like kind of feeling like
Why? And he goes
Well you don't fuck a man's wife and his family
So Dwight is still kind of like wait
What?
So
He's telling him basically that his dad
His dad was having an affair with
The
This other family
The kind of trunk's mom
him. Yeah.
Yeah. So
because he's like,
he's just finding all this out as well as
we are. And he's like,
wait, what? He kind of doesn't believe him.
But he's like,
what about my mom? And he was like,
well, she was just collateral damage.
She shouldn't have been in the car that night.
Yeah, because he's like,
your mother's being, your mother being in the car,
that was fucked up. I'll give you that.
It's got a blitz of this fool.
he goes if you're saying but wade if what you're saying about wade is true then big wade had cancer
so yeah their dad big wade the the older wade senior he had cancer and he was saying that he
couldn't um do anything no no no no wait wait wait wait
Wade, Jr., is the one that had cancer.
Yeah, that's why they let him out of prison earlier.
Yeah, they let him out because he, I guess he didn't want to die in prison.
I mean, he looked, I mean, yeah, you may look healthy if you have cancer.
I don't know how far along he was, but he didn't look like he looked like that.
What?
You tell the prison you don't want to die in prison from cancer, and they're just like, okay.
I don't think so, but for the same.
the story of this movie we'll say yes okay i have no man i mean well what they led to
scott adkins out of prison to go see his mom in uh that's true of enjured and he was a cold art
killer killed multiple people before uh his mom died but that move that story along as well
So he tells him, yeah, he goes, he got out of prison.
And he's telling him, yeah, I guess Little Wade did a plea deal or something to get out of jail.
So Dwight pulls out of phone and tells him like, look, here, I want to hear it.
I assume from their family because Little Wade, Jr., he's dead.
So this guy's like, all right, let me, just give me the phone.
And he, Dwight said that, uh, he wanted to hear it from the other, from his family.
I guess it's basically like that guy's mom.
But he goes, he goes, I want to hear from everyone.
He goes basically like, we're all going to meet up.
So give them a call and let them know what's up.
What is this guy's name anyway that's in the trunk?
because he's telling him he's like look I want to meet up but we need to meet somewhere public
so that that guy in the trunk's kind of like uh okay
so he it's one of those old school flip phones what's his name teddy teddy
and he's got an old school flip phone you know they still make those i was in walmart
the other day and i saw those yeah a little little burner from
Yeah, I saw those in there.
I was like, man, I got flip phones still.
And Eric was the one.
Those are like the burner phones.
Too much breaking bad for that kid.
I mean, he's not lying.
Yeah.
I mean, somebody made those up for a reason.
I get it.
They're more for if that can help you with your financial situation,
not like these billion.
other phones that that everyone has.
But anyway, so anyway, so he gives them the phone to call.
And he, Wade, or Dwight told him Teddy that they were in Kentucky.
So he calls and he goes, they're not answering.
And he's kind of like, well, here, well, call the house or whatever.
Or no, Teddy asks him, can I call the house?
And he's like, all right, cool.
So he calls a house.
and
did he know he left the message?
I don't think so.
Because he's talking
like he knows what's going on
because he's like, shut up, I'm fine.
And then he goes, it's my leg.
And he goes, yeah, I'm with him.
He's here.
He goes, I'll try to, but already,
shit, whatever.
He's like, I'll try to.
And then he's like, hey, she wants to talk to you.
And you're like, who's she?
and he says my sister.
So Dwight is holding the gun.
And Teddy's holding the phone out.
He's like, she's bossy.
And he's like,
Ted or Dwight's like,
well, throw it to the ground.
And he's like,
just keep pointing that gun at me.
He goes, I ain't going anywhere.
He's still sitting in the trunk.
No, I would have said drop it or throw it to me.
I wouldn't have done that.
He goes, look, man, I'll turn my head.
So he's holding the phone out.
He turns away.
and dumb-ass Dwight
I mean this isn't something he does all the time
he reaches for the phone but then Teddy reaches out
grabs his hand that has the gun
or the arm that is holding the gun
and then he dives out of the trunk
and they start wrestling around and fighting
he drops a couple blows into his face
Dwight's still laying there on the ground
Teddy gets up and he's like fuck you
and he's pointing the gun
and I guess being in the trunk
he said his legs were asleep
and he's telling him he goes
But my sister never did anything to you
Dwight's sister
But I mean I get it
I mean the bad guys
They're gonna
They don't want to leave any witnesses
Or anything behind
So they're gonna kill everyone in the house
Yeah and they got that mentality
Like you took one of ours
We're gonna take one of yours
Yeah
So Teddy's just kind of sitting there looking at him
And he goes well I got the gun
he goes, you get the truth.
He goes, not satisfy you fucking curiosity, Dwight.
And he goes, just know that the man that killed,
uh, man that killed, uh, man, let me go back.
Um, let me see.
Let's, please tell me.
Um, oh, then he tells him, yeah, you bet.
So he kind of puts the gun down.
I got the gun.
You get the truth.
And then he tells him not to satisfy your fucking curiosity,
Dwight.
just know that the man that killed
your parents didn't die by your hand
he smoked and he dranked and he
what did he say
I guess he didn't fuck
he didn't fuck
because of the cancer
talking about Big Wade the dad
but he watched TV his favorite TV shows
and then he died a free man
and he goes if you're going to die
like your whore father did
and he goes
shot in the fucking face
and he goes
or how about first we open
up that belly
and Dwight is laying there scared
he goes you want to see your gut steam
he goes you want to see your gut steam
he stands up and he goes
you must have something in there
since you took weight from us
so he's pointing the gun at him
he's getting ready
to take aim
and then here's a gunshot
something kind of zip zip by their head.
That sound was crazy.
Yeah, it's like what?
The gun sounds that whizzes by.
And then he, Teddy kind of looks around and that,
he gets shot right on the left side of his face.
It looks like it just blew a hole into his cheek and it took off part of his nose.
And then he just falls down.
and then he's ass out he's done
buzz walks up he's like
was there only one
and then he tells
Dwight he's like I had to wait for him
to aim at you first so it could be legal
yeah I mean that's good
Buzz has done this before
so
he kind of okay he goes yeah
he goes his head
his head is everywhere
and he goes that's what bullets do
yeah buzz was hardcore in this
so he's like man
so he kind of like all right so well
we got to clean this shit up so he takes
the rifle back that he gave him
and he goes you missed from two yards
because yeah he basically in front of him
and he missed
I told him not to
talk
yeah he said just once you point that gun
you better shoot
so they pick him up and they throw him
in the trunk
and then he's like
what about
his head
part of his head is over there
he goes eh
the coyotes would get it
well hopefully I didn't shoot at any of his teeth
I was like damn
but I mean
I guess no one's gonna come
all the way out there
and I'm sure they're used to hearing
gunshots so nobody else
I think they're just randomly
gonna come to this 13 acre property
yeah and go away out there
because the police don't even know wade's dead still yeah because buzz asked him is this way
and he goes no this is his older brother and he goes well all right he goes here wipe off your
face because he's uh dwight's got blood all over his face he goes here he might have hepatitis
so so they're like all right man well let's uh let's let's do what we got to do so Dwight is still
just uh flipping out still but he's like all right man we're good
and he goes
He has that phone
He goes
Yeah don't get to wipe that off
So he wipes it off
It just throws it in the trunk
And then he goes all right
He's like
You got the keys for your car
And he's like yeah
And he goes to show me
So obviously Buzz has done this before
So
Because that's what he asks
What about the rest of his head
Then he's like out of the coyotes will get it
So
Fucking
He's like a
blood all over his face.
Well, I think that was his blood
because when he jumped out and he clocked him in the face.
So Buzz is just telling him like, all right, man, you're in it now.
And he goes, he goes, I got to give you some more bullets.
And he said he was going to switch him to buckshot.
I mean, buckshot's a little bit better.
I mean, if you're up close, buckshot spreads.
He told him the way you shoot
This will be better for you
Yeah
He gets some new kind of
Crazy gun I've never seen
It looks like a pistol
With a stock on it
He's like
He goes
It doesn't have the stopping power of a 12 gauge
But I mean
It'll do
What you need it to do
And he goes
It looks like you seem comfortable
In it and he goes
It shoots slugs too
But you wouldn't hit anything
and it's only got five shots so
the stair
starey I don't know what that is I assume a gun
is a secondary weapon he said that's got eight shots
um he goes plus uh he's got stopping power
with 45 and then while he's
buzz is talking to him
it's just like this
he's not listening because we see
we hear buzz and we can see him talking but we can't
we can't hear what he's saying
because Dwight is
just like still thinking about it.
And then he's like, hey, hey man.
I liked what he said right here.
And he goes, he goes, I know this is personal.
And he goes, that's how you fail.
And he goes, no speeches, no talking.
He goes, you point the gun.
You shoot the gun.
And he's like, all right, you feel me?
And then Dwight kind of just looks away.
I mean, I loved what he said that.
I mean, that kind of reminds me of,
um
uh,
uh,
uh,
Jody was telling Mike
when they,
when they were loading up before they went back to the mansion and
look and he goes,
no warning shots.
He goes,
warning shots are bullshit.
And he goes,
if you point a gun at a man,
he goes,
you better be ready to shoot a man or
whatever that he said like that.
And that's true.
I mean,
my uncles have said that too.
I don't,
don't point guns at people unless you're willing to
pull that trigger.
and I'm like, okay.
I remember that.
My uncle told me that.
So don't point guns at anybody unless you're aiming to do it.
I'm not saying to do it or point guns at people,
but that's just what my uncle said to me.
Rest in peace.
He was in the military.
He was in Vietnam and everything.
I'm sure he had his plenty over there.
That was a good thing about my uncle.
He never told us.
what he did over there.
He just told us,
oh man,
we did this and it was fun.
Like just joking around
being stupid with him and his soldier buddies.
But he never told us what he did there.
I actually didn't find out what he did until he had passed away.
But he was a machine gunner on a helicopter.
And that was all I needed to know.
I was like,
I'm glad he never told us that.
because he used to tell the stuff when we were kids about when he was in Vietnam but he never
went into like we wanted to hear war stories but I mean I'm glad that he never told us
any of that type of stuff anyway so Buzz has got him got him a new weapon got him some more
ammo and he goes yeah he gave him some stuff some supplies and said here I threw a few
MREs in here and just take it easy so he's going to
like all right buddy man thanks so he takes off uh buzz gets in his truck and uh oh no before he leaves
he ends up uh giving that yearbook to uh that he was looking at earlier to buzz and buzz is kind of like
oh man right on man there's a guy threw mine away years ago so but why dwight is driving down
the road um we told him to destroy that picture of him and them and the stripper
Yes, right.
Dwight's driving down the road and then
we see Buzz, he gets in his truck
and it doesn't come out, kick over.
So he goes over and he opens up the trunk
or the hood and he sees that his battery's gone.
Was that so Buzz couldn't follow him?
I think so.
Okay.
So we go down to the floorboard of
Dwight's car
and the battery here.
He took out of Buzz's truck
is sitting there.
So we kind of get a little
I don't know if this was like a last meal thing
because Dwight kind of goes into this
little roadside cafe and has a big old steak dinner
and a glass of wine.
Yeah.
And then we go back to...
I think he knows what could happen.
We go back to Buzz's house.
And Buzz was just kind of digging around
and he finds something in a drawer,
and then he leaves.
And then we see that picture, and it starts to burn.
Buzz stuck it in the microwave.
And that's how he's destroying the picture.
I thought we'd at least get to see it,
but I mean, I don't know if they were naked or whatever with the stripper.
It was something that Dwight didn't want anybody to see.
Yeah.
So, Dwight's on the side of the road throwing up all his meal.
and I'll give it to this actor, man, they must have really made him throw up
because that didn't look like it was just, here, put this in your mouth and act like you threw up.
So I've thrown up enough times and seen people throw up, and that look real.
Don't over-drink boys and girls.
Oh, no.
God can't drink it until you're over 21.
So, Dwight goes...
If you're going to drink, drink plenty of water.
And drink responsibly.
And don't drink and dry.
And just, yeah, I mean, we all wanted to sip a, sip a beer when we're kids.
Don't mix beer and hard liquor.
Yeah, don't do.
That's why I never drank that.
Well, I did when I was young, but I can't.
Beer is all I can do.
And always, always figure out if you're dark liquor or light liquor.
No liquor, period for me.
the old nes will come out and that wasn't good i can't drink tequila
i could never drink any of that stuff i've just beer was it well back then it was just like
malt liquor i can't even drink that anymore i tried some one time my friend turned 40
and everyone brought 40s to her her birthday and now she cracked went open i was old e i said
hey let me try that i took a sip like i like spinning
it out. I was like, what?
How did we drink this?
I mean, we didn't know any better
back then.
Yeah.
The age we weren't drinking 40s, we didn't
know what good alcohol was.
No, we just had,
it was either 40s
or night train. I remember
this one guy in the bar, or in the bar,
in the park. Little
hobo dude, that's all he drank.
We're hanging out.
Remember a bad dog?
Oof.
That was a mean drink.
you remember Cisco
oh
alizet
don't drink
boys you young listeners
it's no good
Cisco was terrible
mad dog
medicine
alcohol
nitrain all of that
if you drink 40s still
you're still drinking malt liquor
come on you're better than that
beer has come a long way
and that is not the way
They still sell it too.
I see it in there.
I still see it.
My buddy was a steel reserve guy.
I'm like, dude, how can you drink this?
You remember St. Eyes?
Ooh, kicking it live.
Oh, man.
Of course I drank it.
Because when that came out,
Oh, St. Eyes!
You see Ice Cube did a commercial for drinking St.
Ainsiege.
Give me that drink, fool.
He, like, re-did Jacking for Beats.
to add St. Eyes to his rhyme.
You have no idea what I'm talking about.
Look up Ice Cube, St. Ides, and yeah, that commercial.
Nasty beer.
Anyway, Dwight finally makes it back to the house.
To where, to the Wade house.
So did he know where they lived?
Or did he just take that guy's license and figure it out?
I think he knew where they live
And when he got there
It was kind of confirmed
Because he finds
Doesn't he find like
Big Wade's gravestone
Well he finds that limo
Yeah
The limo that they
They picked him up
The one that he stole
And had that kid
Yeah he finds the gravestone later
And when he pisses all over it
I like that part
Yeah the big limo they had
It was under some tarps
So he sees it
He goes
he kind of goes through the whole house and the garage and everything looking and he doesn't nobody's
home well uh what's his name um teddy did say that they all went hunting unless that's just what he said
to him so what he's walking through the house and everything he finds guns uh like a gun case what's uh looks
like it's a automatic rifle and some semi-automatics so what he does is he kind of takes a bed sheet
and he goes around the whole house and everything and finds all kinds of guns because he goes in the house.
There's a gun rack on the wall.
He starts taking those guns.
He's digging in the seat cushions of the couch and everything, seeing if there's any hidden guns anywhere.
He does find a pistol or a revolver.
And then he kind of just gets all these guns.
He wraps them up in a bed sheet.
Oh, but before he does that, before he goes out and gets rid of those, he kind of walks over to the answering machine and he hits it.
And then he hears the message that Teddy left when he had him sitting in the trunk.
So he gets all those guns and he wraps him up and then he takes them, I guess there's some kind of pond or whatever lake behind their house or whatever.
So he grabs it, grabs them all of them and just throws it in.
This is when he finds the gravestone.
Yeah, so he does that.
He throws all the guns in the water,
and then, yeah, when he comes back,
he finds the headstone of Big Wade.
So, and then we see he's in the house drinking water out of the sink.
Takes two big glasses of water.
Obviously, time jumping all over the place.
After he drinks the water,
see the headstone again and he's pissing on it.
He pissed on Wade Sr.'s grave.
So he's in the house. He's still kind of
gearing up.
He kind of made this little
barricade bunker in the corner that he was going to hide behind.
He has one of, he has the rifle that Buzz gave him.
But while he's sitting there, he kind of falls asleep.
And then when he's in there, all of a sudden,
he had the lights off in the house
the lights come on and then he
jumps up and he doesn't know what's
going on so he starts kind of like
going around the house looking around doesn't see
anybody but then he hears something
against the wall and then
he kind of leans back and looks and he sees
that there's a timer the lights
are on a timer so he's kind of like
all right so he
kind of sits back around and then
he starts looking at things
he finds an old album
and then he just kind of just
falls asleep and then he wakes up the next morning he goes back out to his car he pulls um
teddy out of the trunk and then he goes and digs a grave and then uh he sets him throws him in there
and then buries him but he does make a little sign that says teddy so he goes back in the house
he's sitting there and then uh the lights come back on uh so he was there for like two days but then why
he's sitting there. He notices that somebody's coming.
So, because he sees the lights
in the house or
outside. Before that, he leaves a message on the answering machine.
Oh, that's right, because he called. And then
they come running in the house because they hear the phone ringing. And they're like, check the
messages. He's hiding behind this corner. We see
three members of the family.
I guess a guy younger than
than Teddy, an older woman, and then, I don't know if that's his sister or cousin.
I think they're both sisters.
Oh, were they, those two sisters?
Well, I guess they both looked old.
Yeah, I think that was another brother and two sisters, I think.
So they're listening to the messages.
Dwight comes out from around the corner.
He's pointing the rifle at just pointing it in their direction.
And they're kind of looking at listening.
to the messages and everything.
I just went, whap,
rap, whack,
just started firing.
But I don't know if he was
coming to his senses
and like,
I don't know if I should do this
because he starts
to put the rifle down.
But he does,
he,
he,
they listen to the,
to the message
that he left.
And the,
the older brother or younger brother,
he's the county like,
oh, you fucking son of a bitch.
And then Dwight just puts the gun up
and,
yeah,
I think it was the part of the message where he said,
leave my sister out of it.
And then the one brother was basically like,
no, we're going to fucking kill her.
And then he's like,
well,
I got to take care of this.
And then he shoots the guy.
Yeah,
he blasts him.
It doesn't kill him.
He kind of falls to the ground.
The two other ladies turn around and spin.
He shoots one of the ladies like in the arms.
She kind of spins around,
but she doesn't fall.
And then they're like,
we're going to kill you.
We're going to fucking kill you.
And then he just,
she blasts her.
that dude in the head and he goes down.
And then this is when he starts talking to them.
I guess, do you tell him to call the cops?
He's like, call if you want.
And we'll talk this through.
No, that's the message on the machine.
So while he's point...
I think he's basically telling them, like,
that's two of yours, three of yours I got or something.
I think he's trying to say, you know, we can keep going back and forward for this.
Yeah, because after the message stops, he tells him, look, he goes, I took all the guns.
And they're saying, well, don't shoot us.
But then in the background, down the hall, we see somebody walking into the house or like just kind of slowly coming in.
They start talking to him and he's telling them that he's been here for a while.
And they said, I've been trying to think of reasons not to do this to end your family.
And while he's saying all this, we see that kid.
It's that young kid that was in the back of the limo earlier.
He's got a shotgun.
So he comes back to the house.
And he's just talking to the ladies basically telling him that he didn't want to do this,
but this is kind of the way it's going to be.
and what did they say
fuck man
I can't remember exactly what they were saying
but
well he was telling him why he was doing this
and then they kind of
they started telling them about
what
what actually happened
and this is where I had a question
because they were telling them that like yeah
that he
the mom
There's the lady that's right here, I assume
Mrs. Wade.
She's the one that had an affair
with
Dwight's dad.
So he's hearing that.
And then all of a sudden, that boy
comes out from out of
the darkness and dosh.
He shoots
Dwight in the side.
And then he kind of falls down.
And that kid
the kid, that kid's
name is William
and they're telling him, kill him.
And then Dwight kind of gets up.
Well, he said,
the kid says he doesn't want to.
Because, yeah, he does.
He goes, I don't want to.
And then Dwight's like, your whole family, or no,
one of them, your whole family's going to die.
And she's just saying,
kill him. But then the kid's
slowly moving up to Dwight
and he's within reaching distance.
Dwight hits that barrel.
it up and then he shoots the gun and it's a double barrel shotguns both both bookshots are gone
so they're kind of just stop stop and we see that Dwight is starting to fade I mean that shotgun
blast did did his damage and it we see the mom she's kind of reaching down to get for something
and he goes I don't know much about guns and he goes but I'm pretty sure I've got more bullets
than you. So
he's
they're like, don't kill him. And he goes,
if he dies tonight, your father
killed him. So
he's kind of like, well, nope.
And the two
ladies and
are talking to him.
And he goes, they're telling him that he's killed
everybody. Dwight has killed
everyone. And Dwight
is slowly fading.
Because
he's
starting to blink and it looks like he's getting ready to pass he kind of pulls up his shirt and we see
the the gun wound and um and uh william the kid he's looking at him and he's like starting to cry
and then he's like all right will you want to get out of here and he goes but i still got
some stuff to do and he goes quickly i think because he goes he says it's funny um that hurts
less than the um then he's starting to fade and he goes then the arrow this is what he's telling
william so william is looking at him and he goes you can leave that gun and just wipe it off
and basically just leave so he's like he tells him he goes look my car's down the road uh in the
woods so take it the keys are in it and you're you're at get out of here so
William just like
leaves the house
and
Dwight's the one that tells them
that
he says he's my father's son
because if you guys remember
they said that Big Wade
had cancer or whatever
and he
couldn't do anything
so I guess it didn't work anymore
so I guess the mom was horny
and Dwight's dad
was all right and
she seems old but I guess
and this kid is what
well he wasn't old enough to go to the bar so he's under 21
I was to say maybe 19 20
I don't know maybe even like 17 or 18
but um maybe they've been had a relationship
yeah
because he says to
Teddy told me about Big Wade and the cancer
but didn't mention
don't like, no, the mom was like, don't mention their names.
So William is basically Dwight's brother, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's what I figured.
I was kind of like, wait a minute.
Because then that's why.
I think that's why he let him go.
Yeah.
So, and I think William knew.
Because he did tell him, was like, look, Wade didn't, didn't kill your parents.
so
but I think after all
what Teddy told him like yeah
my dad and your dad
and my mom were
doing the nasty
so yeah
William just kind of cuts out
and then
what do you say just because my dad
loved your mom
so I guess he's telling that to
William or whatever
and William already cut out
and then he's telling him
Like, yeah, we're all dead.
And then the mom is looking at him.
I assume, is that her sister?
Because she looks pretty rough and old, too.
I don't know.
Like, the family is all kinds of different ages.
The mom is still having kids and she looks old.
But anyway.
So he's still pointing the gun.
He's starting to fade.
The mom reaches down under the lazy boy and pulls out.
What is that?
Like a little Mac 10 or a?
She pulls that out and just starts
Just start shooting
William is outside
He's just kind of looking at the house
And he hears all the gunshots and everything
And then he just kind of turns and starts walking away
He still has that shotgun in his hand
You ain't can do much of that gun kid
Let you get some more
Some more rounds for it
So he's walking
And then he just throws the shotgun in the bushes
and he just keeps walking.
Back in the house,
everybody's laying there on the ground.
We see the older mom's dead.
I don't know if that was her daughter or her sister.
She's dead.
And then we see Dwight laying on his back
and see blood coming out of his mouth.
And we see blood.
There must be a bullet hole in his neck
or kind of like on his chest.
And what was he saying?
The keys are in the car.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, he keeps repeating the keys are in the car.
So he's laying there and then we kind of go outside.
And we see here some thunder and we see some lightning and then starting to rain.
But then we go back to Dwight's sister's house.
It looks like there was a huge storm because there's trees blown over, telephone poles knocked over, all kinds of stuff.
and then we see one of the arrows that one of those guys shot
that's stuck in the ground in front of Dwight's sister's house.
She comes home and she finds that her house just looked like something was going on there.
No, no, did she come home?
No, they just thought it was like they just started showing the house.
Yeah, and then something comes through the mail slot.
It's the postcard.
Yeah, because earlier he told her, he was like, yeah, well, we got a, I sent you a postcard like a day or so ago.
And she's like, it takes a few days to get here.
So he was like, all right, because he was in Virginia.
Because, yeah, the camera kind of just panning around the house.
And then the mailman comes in and drops in the mail.
And it's all like got a rubber band around it.
And we see that that postcard is on the top of.
the stack of mail and then
that that's your movie
yeah I looked at up blue ruin
is not for the car
what was it for? It says
blue ruin plays on the layered meaning
the movie follows Dwight
a drifter whose life has been
destroyed by violence and grief his
existence is ruined
and the tone of the film
is melancholy washed out
and suffice
of all kinds
of cold sadness hence
blue.
So the ruin is like his life
is ruined and the blue is like
all the
violence and grief
in his life.
One of the quotes in that movie is like,
you know what's awful?
Just because my dad loved your mom
we all end up dead.
I was like, damn.
Well, I mean, that's true.
It was because of the dad
and the mom
yeah
she was horny
and she so wanted some beefcake
and his dad came along
and uh
whoops
shot one past the goalie
and that's a little William
but yeah
this um
this movie was awesome man
I mean again like I've heard of it
but I just didn't know
anything about it.
So I was like, man, I was, like I said,
I was sit there just glued to the TV
watching this guy. I was like, God.
I was like, God damn, man, what's happening here?
I was just so surprised on how awesome this movie is.
Oh, man, but glad you brought it to my attention
because I probably would have eventually got to it,
but I don't know.
I just, I knew the title.
I didn't know what it was about.
And everyone's saying, watch it, watch it.
And I said, I'll get to it when I get to it.
Yeah, Jeremy Solner's got some good movies.
Yeah, so when you finally said Blue Ruin, all right, cool.
Finally give me more of a reason to watch this film.
But if you guys have not seen it, if you have YouTube premium, it's got a different beginning.
and if you have it on prime
it's also
just a different beginning
but the rest of the movies seem to be the same
and I think I'm not 100% sure
I think if you don't have either one of those
I think it's also on 2B
I would say it is
everything's on 2B
let me look really quick
and it's there
so everyone's got
toby
if you don't mind
the ads, the commercials.
Definitely checking out.
But that was Blue Ruin.
Was it?
2000. What?
13.
Oh, man.
Well, all right, everyone.
That is it.
All right.
It's your pick.
All right.
I am going to go to...
It came out this year,
but I guess the
They made it a while ago and they sat on it.
So, but it did its festival runs and everything last year, but kind of finally came out this year.
And they threw it in all the theaters and, geez, I seen this, what, three times in the theater.
And I bought it on Prime.
And then I bought the VHS 4K version.
there's no VHS
I think I know what you're talking about
is it set in the town
you know it
in my place of birth
born and bred
in East Oakland
Oakland California and we are going to start
next episode with Freaky Tales
it's on HBO Max
and yeah
this movie's awesome
so if you guys have not seen it yet
definitely watch it because this is a pure town classic man we have other films in there
uh we got to go to the mac with max julian rest in peace and we got to go to uh the principal
uh with lu gossett junior rest in peace and and jim belushi and tons of other films but
this one man this one i remember hearing about it and then i'm like okay let me let me let me
go see it. I knew it was made there. I didn't really know what it was about. And then I sat and
watched it and I was like, wow. Shot a lot of this in the neighborhoods I grew up in. So that gave
me extra juice each time I watch it. So but yeah, come back next time for freaky tales. When I can
take a year hiatus, we'll be back before the year is up. I know we only got a couple more months
of this year. But let's, let's.
next week, maybe the week after.
We still got to do
action.
That was a listener request.
So that one's going to come first.
But yeah.
If you have Max,
Freaky Tales, definitely check it out.
It's out there.
And yeah.
I mean, if you,
and they do sell the regular
Blu-ray edition.
I saw that at Walmart.
I love it so much.
I'll probably go buy that too
because this VHS one is
just the 4K.
I mainly bought it for the
for the box.
But yeah, everyone, check out this
movie, man. It's amazing film.
But, all right, everybody.
That is it, this episode.
We're back
and hopefully we'll stick around a little bit
longer.
If you listen to the last episode,
regular episode of the horror
returns, we did
Toxic Avenger.
The original one, 84 version,
and then the new
2025 one.
Also, over on E-Society, I mentioned and talked about that.
And the Conjuring, Last Rights.
Go check that out.
Oh, we also talk about the Zs who saw Naked Gun
and that other movie with Eddie Murphy and the pickup.
Yeah, I see that.
Yeah, it was all right.
And Witchboard, which we did, I think, two episodes ago.
Yeah, I didn't get to see it, but I think it's coming to streaming somewhere next week.
Oh, you didn't see Witchboard yet?
No, it wasn't nowhere near anywhere up here.
All right, well, I'm supposed to be doing it again with the geeks.
I don't know if it's going to be just a little.
Lil and Steve. Hopefully
Sean's going to be in it on that one too, but
we'll see. If you guys are listening to
the Geeks, go listen to their show.
Past couple years,
I fell down the
Witchboard movies with them.
We did, well, the past three
years, we did all three of them.
First one, second, and the third one.
And third one is,
skip it.
Go straight
to the remake or
the new version that came out.
So, but, all right, everyone.
is it go to the horror returns
com for episodes
and everything dealing with that
the tea public store
go over there tons of
design shout out to Steve
of the geeks he designed all those
I also have the original
t-shirt design
and
well who did that one
not so
not Sulani
yeah I was about to say not so artsy
but
um
yeah go over there and
uh
up a shirt and be one of the cool kids.
We did drop an episode of the number one wrestling podcast in the world.
Go check that out.
And we talked about Clash in Paris.
And I guess I got to get ESPN to watch.
To watch the next one.
What is it?
I'm going to,
I'm going to try with ads to see how bad it is.
Do they do ads during the, like,
live stuff? Or is it like a split screen? Here's the
ad, but you can still see the action. Well, when I watch Clash,
I couldn't tell if it was the ads that they were, because
you know, WWE does ads.
I couldn't tell if that was Peacock or
WWE. So it wasn't that bad. It wasn't during the matches or anything.
Oh, okay. Well, yeah, they have their own ads
that they throw in between. Yeah. So I don't, I don't think
I think if you watch it live,
there's no ads.
Well, I hope not.
But we will be doing
Russell Paloosa because it is
the in-match return
of A.J. Lee
official.
Yeah.
We need to talk about that at some point.
Who knows? Maybe we'll come back with another little
quick one for wrestling returns
and talk about A.J. Lee
because,
ooh, man, she lit it up.
I got goosebumps.
She has not changed a bit in the past 10 years.
Uh-uh.
Did you see her little promo?
We'll talk about it on wrestling returns.
Everyone, we're out of here.
All right.
Come back next time.
We talk about 2025's freaky tales.
So until then, be safe out there.
And always remember to party on.
And be good to each other.
