All right, here we go.
Try this.
Jesus, what was that?
Are you okay?
I'll be damned.
What?
That was Wolfsbane.
You're a lichenthroat.
Episode of THR presents stream themes.
I'm your host, Brian, and you know who's with me.
He's always with me.
My brother, Nez.
What's up, man?
I'm good, man.
We should have had this out earlier.
But life got in the way.
But we're here.
We got to do it.
We said we were going to do it.
We're back to do it.
And what episode is this?
This is episode, take five.
Again, I always, we've done so much.
I'm lost on episode wise and where we're at.
But this week, everybody, we're coming at you with the Shudder exclusive.
Creep Show Holiday Special
Directed by Greg Nicotero
Came out last year in December
Not rated, okay
It was only 46 minutes
I'll read this synopsis before you read what you got
Okay
This is from Shutter
Robert Weston has noticed some odd changes lately
That his doctor cannot explain
The only explanation for his symptoms
is that he might be a werewolf.
In search for an answer, he discovers an unusual support group
where others can't help him learn the truth.
But what he discovers is far more sinister
than he could have ever imagined.
The rag-tag group of misfits must band together
to fight the assassin who has been hunting them for centuries.
This stars Adam Polly, Anna Camp,
Pete Burris, Frank Nicola.
Petero, Derek Russo, and Cindy McLean.
All right, that's what I got.
What do you got?
I got, fearing he is a murderer, an anxious man searches for answers for his unique condition from an unusual support group.
And that is it.
The story is titled Shape Shifter's Anonymous.
Christmas.
There's a killer on the loose in Naperville.
Only comes out when the moon is full.
Okay, Merry Christmas.
My name is Robert Weston, and I have been having a very hard time.
And these blackouts, I don't remember anything.
Welcome to ShapeShifter's Anonymous.
I'm out of support group for Well.
I'm a wear cheetah.
Annie McDermott, wearbore.
You turn into a pig.
Who's Zachai?
He's a wear tortoise.
You're kidding.
Found us.
What?
The dreaded Santa Claus and his many evil helpers.
Chris Kringle and his magical helpers?
It's far until you see the white to the beards.
The clothes has come to town.
I couldn't find nothing for it on IMDB.
Where did you find what you had?
I am on Wikipedia.
it is you have to go to the creep show TV show
and it is like they got it in one of the episodes
like the last
okay uh I didn't even know that
because I was looking all over IAMDB all I can find was a poster
and I didn't know exactly where it was going
if you guys are new to Creep show
uh it was the first film came out in 82
and I think is either 87 or 88 the second one was
I think so.
There's a third creep show, but it's got nothing to do with Stephen King and nothing to do with the first.
Fucking garbage.
That's what I'll say about it right now.
Yeah, they say it's on or they say it's a part of it.
It's not a part of this.
It's nothing.
What you might call it people are saying is should be the third installment,
because I think it was supposed to be.
And that was Tales from the Dark Side, the movie.
That was going to be a creep show?
That's what I heard.
It was basically creep show.
I mean, but I'm glad it's its own thing.
But that one kind of fell apart.
If you saw Tales from the Hood 2 and 3.
What was this?
Did you watch three?
Some of it.
I was tired.
I said, I'll get back to this when I can.
Did you finish it?
No, I saw something with the kid would,
fucking gold tennis shoes and he was shitting on himself and
I didn't understand what was going on.
I did,
I did the couple times I've seen Tony Todd,
you know,
he's always,
that's one thing.
They always have,
the main guy,
the main,
I guess,
storyteller,
they,
they always have someone good.
I will say that.
Yeah,
I mean,
that's all I can say about it,
though.
You throw money at someone.
Well,
you got to get somebody known because,
what,
Keith,
was he the narrated the second one?
Yeah, he was the one telling the stories.
Yeah, and then they should have left alone with the first one
because that first one was just a masterpiece.
I loved every story.
I loved the meaning behind the stories.
I mean, I like the meaning behind the stories of the second one,
but it just the delivery of what we got was like.
It's crazy that it's done by the story.
same director
all three of them
and he's tired i guess he's talking he wants to do a tv series now
okay
i don't know
yeah
yeah creep show two came out 87
creep show three has got nothing to do with it that came out in 2006
that that one i think creep show two as well is on uh youtube
i'm not sure but i know three is on that that's where i watched it
that's complete trash.
So unless you just want to see what it is, go for it.
But I advise you to just stay clear.
But you can live the rest of your life without watching it because it was shit.
Yeah, you will just, you will be fine.
Yeah, you'll be more mad of anything.
But this one was, this is okay.
Yeah.
Adam Polly, fuck that guy.
he punched baby Yoda
aka Grogu
Oh that was him
Yeah he was one
Him and Jason Sadeekits
Oh you motherfucker
I didn't
Fucking punch baby Yoda
Yeah he punched him
No fuck that
But I mean this
Effects I liked
Cool Greg Nicator
Greg Nicatorre directed it right on
Cool
He's awesome guy
I met him a few times
I love the TV show
What they've done so far
but was this a throwaway or did they hey let's do a holiday special and and okay but the uh
animated one was good the the one that came around Halloween yeah it was better than this yeah
I really love the animation on what they did but this this one I was expecting a little bit more
and I didn't get it so do you do you think the problem
was they tried to go too much
with the comedic stuff?
I think so.
I mean, it seemed more of
a comedy than anything.
I mean,
the TV show was a little serious,
not too comedy,
but, I mean, the movies, none of them were comedy.
Yeah, there was some funny things in it,
but they weren't going for the comedy angle.
This one was just more
slap-sticky, stupid adventure.
Yeah, for the listeners who haven't seen this, essentially he thinks he is a werewolf and is killing people, but he's not for sure.
He finds out there's a support group of people that are able to shape shift into other creatures, and he goes there, and then it just kind of gets real comedic.
and for some reason
Santa Claus shows up with his gang of department store Santa Claus
and he wants to kill them,
which I didn't understand why.
Yeah, I didn't get how he knew.
Or, I don't know, well,
the Santa can see when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake.
Was he a robot?
I don't know.
I liked how he looked.
He was all evil.
and sinister, like, he should have been the bad guy, but,
uh, I, I just didn't like what was going on.
I mean, it was kind of like, uh, this movie isn't very long, everyone,
but I was just, I wasn't feeling it.
I mean, everyone in it did their job.
Again, I loved all the special effects in it, but it just, I was starting to look at my
phone.
Yeah, because they, they kind of pulled me in with some of the practicals.
Yeah.
But then when the big fight scene, what all the Santa Claus has happened, when they were like, the werewolf was like slashing out of people, it was clearly digital blood.
Yeah.
And I was like, I will say the wear cheetah, the one chick, looked a lot better than another cheetah character from a big blockbuster movie that came out on Christmas.
I see Sue brother
I love you but come on
you better than that
if you guys listen to East Society's
best of episodes
but
again I liked everybody in it
the
the black lady
she was probably my favorite
I liked her
I thought she was funny
she didn't she didn't have no
abilities or anything
but she just wanted to be
a part of the group and she wanted
to be a hippo.
Yeah. Because everybody
was, I mean, they all had
good stories on what they
were going to do. Yeah, the Cheetah, I'm looking at a
picture of her right now. I thought
she looked pretty cool when she sprung into action.
But
yeah, Adam Polly's character, he's
just, there's, he
blacks out. He doesn't know
what's happening and
kind of like how American World from London is,
wakes up naked and all that.
And there's people, murders that are happening, and he's not really sure what's going on.
So he ends up going to the support group.
And then this is when he finds out who he is.
Because all these people, there's what, five other people in the support group that tell him,
or they tell him that you're obviously a shapeshifter.
And we are as well.
And that's when they kind of go around the room and tell them what they turn into.
All I remember was the cheetah and the, uh, was a snapping toodle.
Yeah, we got a wear tortoise, a wear cheetah, a wear boar.
And then for the most part, you got a guy who doesn't say much and they're not sure of what he is.
And then you got the woman who doesn't have any powers and she wants to be a hippopotamus.
I thought that was, I thought she was funny in it.
Her whole trying to be included and don't judge her because she can't, you know, I like that whole aspect.
I just, I didn't understand why a gang of department store Santa's rush in and I don't know.
It just seemed like there was some kind of beef with these kind of with these type of creatures that they just never explained.
Yeah, I didn't, I didn't get what was happening with them.
But when they all turned into their, their alternate creatures, I mean, I thought they all looked good because it was all practical.
I mean, none of how they looked were special or CGI.
The other than Cheetah chick, I liked how she looked.
The wear turtle, he just was like a big, a big, tall snapping turtle.
The part that made me laugh is, and when he was telling you, you turn into a turtie.
And he was, yeah, shell and oh?
He went, yeah.
And they was like, okay.
He asked him if he did a big turtle or a little small turtle.
He's like a big turtle.
I liked how he looked at him Polly when he turned into a werewolf.
I thought he looked cool.
Again, all of them looked cool.
But it was just when the Santa started to attack, especially the main Santa.
Yeah, was he a robot?
I mean, I don't know.
He looked like he had a...
He was super tall.
I remember that, and it seemed like he had some kind of
Power Rangers suit on or something.
And Santa...
Like, God.
Santa looked evil and scary looking.
Yeah, that's what I'm trying to figure out.
Is he Santa a bad guy?
I don't know.
I was not really sure
Why he looked that way
Because it made it seem like Santa was the bad guy
And these
All these people were
Were good guys
Well, it seemed like Adam Polly's character
Was a good guy in general
And didn't know what was going on
But he just turned into a war
Murdering people
Yeah, so he was not really sure
The one dude that turned into the
To the wear tortoise
He has
he was like the host of
I want to say it was either a game show
or one of those
funny video shows
in the 90s. I had
not seen him in forever
so when he popped up
into this I was like ah okay I remember him
so but
yeah so when they all spring into action
I mean there's a lot of buildup before
the action starts and when they all
start turning into their to their
alternate creatures
before Santa gets
there because they look outside and there's a huge army of santa's and then here comes a good
old st nick himself yeah it's good thing they had surveillance cameras at their little meeting
place yeah because i mean santa was huge it was like tall not not the big old fat jolly old guy we
all know and love no he was tall and scary looking in the face and he wore some kind of power rangers
of Santa suit
I was like
And he had like
These kind of sharp claw things for hands
Yeah I was like
All right
I mean I was just going
So he's the bad guy
And everyone else are the good guys
I mean because they didn't none of them
Seemed like they were bad
It was just something that genetically
They had to live with
And I'm sure they all had to kill people.
But, I mean, if they were like Adam Polly, what was Adam Polly's name?
I don't even remember anyone's name.
It doesn't say here.
Just calls him an anxious man.
Oh, okay.
So, yeah, I mean, he seemed like a good dude.
It's just, you know, when he turns into a werewolf, he kills people.
So I assume it's, it made it seem like he was the only one that didn't know that he
turning into something.
Everyone else knew and it made it kind of seem like they,
they were able to control it.
Yeah.
They were able to just turn into them, like on command.
Well, then again, when we get to the whole Santa Claus scene,
the guy that doesn't talk, he eventually says something.
And you find out that he's a werewolf too.
And he gives everybody some kind of elixir or potion or something to take.
Oh, that's right.
And then that's when he says they're able to change whenever they want to.
So there was that.
And he, the dude that didn't talk, he was like a super, like he was ripped and had all these scars all over him.
And before Santa even, they even knew he was there.
He knew because he pointed to the surveillance monitor and he wasn't even looking at it.
And he was like, it's time or he's here or whatever.
said.
Yeah, because when he sprung in action is when all hell broke loose in there because all the
Santa's came pouring in there.
And they had this big old fight.
So, yeah.
I was expecting more, really.
I mean, I was, I mean, I love Creep show.
I invested in my time in the series as well as the movies.
And I just wanted something else.
I mean, something a little more exciting
and we didn't get it.
Yeah, because the whole battle was,
it kind of was over quickly.
They kill all the department Santas.
They get into a showdown with the Power Ranger,
evil Santa, and he eventually gets his head cut off.
And the main, or the big werewolf mystery dude,
he was like, oh, I didn't know you can do that.
And it was like that easy to kill Santa.
I thought the funny part, though, was the chick that wanted to be a hippo.
He didn't have a potion for her to do that, but he said there's probably still magic in Santa.
If you sit on his lap and wish.
And she wishes for little Yaddy to show up and take her away.
and little Yaddy shows up.
Who is that?
He's a rapper.
He's one of the youngsters.
He shows up out of nowhere.
And he leaves with her.
And then she just says she'll see everybody at the next meeting.
So she had the opportunity to get her hippopotamus powers.
But I guess she was thinking of Lil Yadi.
I kind of wanted to see the silent guy transform
because, I mean, he looked cool.
It was all practical effects, but they didn't show him transform.
He just got up and he was getting ready.
And then you see Santa standing there with his little ninja hands or whatever those were.
In the background, you see an animated shadow of him transforming into a werewolf.
Um, he, he actually looked better.
He was like more giant.
Uh, and he had really long arms.
You can clearly see it was all practical.
So it was somebody in, in the werewolf suit.
But I thought that was really cool.
Yeah.
And they alluded that they knew each other.
Yeah.
The werewolf and Santa.
And it just, we just had to go with that, that they knew each other.
No backstory, no nothing.
I thought it was going to be, because he, the werewolf, the mystery dude had like scars,
all over his body and I thought maybe him and they were going to be a flashback of him and
Santa thrown down but no nothing because I mean the whole buildup thing to it because as soon as
he transforms into the to a werewolf he just Santa's hand started spinning with the blades on it
and then he the werewolf guy cut Santa's head off yeah that was it he Santa falls over and then
something comes out of his neck and I mean it's like
raise a light or whatever.
I don't know.
Like the Christmas spirit.
I guess.
The dude that was all big,
buff and tough,
as soon as he killed him,
he just transformed back into a human and he,
and he's all right again.
Yeah.
I wish a little.
Yadi shows up.
I wish there was more explanation on this guy
because with all the scars and stuff
all over his body,
you can obviously see that he was
battling with,
I assume Santa this whole time.
or whatever.
He's been through battles.
He has a little bag or box or whatever with kind of potions and powders and just
we're supposed to just go with it, I guess.
And I guess when these guys all transform,
um,
nothing happens to the clothes.
I mean,
usually you either tear them off or you ended up standing in a naked,
because the big buff guy
you really can't see his waist or anything
but you can clearly see he's got pants on
but
him his shirt's gone
I mean he didn't take his shirt off before he transformed
I don't know maybe he did
what we saw was the
the shadow in the background
but
yeah who is this dude man
this guy's hell of buff
uh let's see
uh
Garrett Russo
is what I've got here
I think I've seen him in something
okay because after
the camera kind of pulls back
and you
some kind of crazy
magic dust gold dust comes in
not
not that gold dust
the other stuff that comes in
it wasn't shattered dreams
no
and all the
all the sannas
are just laying there on the stairs dead
like the
the big giant Santa his
army that he came in
okay he was
he was in the last
Jumanji movie he was the key master
and he was in a
Clint Eastwood movie
The Mule says he played a guy
that just got him as big dude
all right
he's in Cobra Cod
he was
I said he was a character
named Bo
I guess we'll have to look for him
yeah I don't remember
him in it but I'm sure I would remember
some big giant dude like him
maybe he was one of those bikers
from season one
oh okay yeah maybe
but I mean after evil
I assume Santa Claus
and his crew were the evil guys
and it just ends
and everyone's
lives happily ever after
and Adam Polly hooks up with the blonde wear cheetah chick.
Mm-hmm.
And I said.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.
I mean, again, the special effects in it were awesome.
I loved it.
I mean, when the camera pulls back, you see the church or whatever they were meeting
and is all on fire.
So I assume they just lit it up to get rid of the evidence of all the dead Sanis.
They were in there, but yeah, this one.
I mean, again, I think they could have did a better job,
but it was, it was what it was.
I mean, it was quick to the point.
You can clearly see that they put most of their time and money
into the special effects, practical effects.
Yeah.
I mean, I love that.
I thought that was, but not the digital blood.
No, but if you have Shudder and you are a fan of
creep show. I'm sure you guys have seen this already, but
I say don't lose any sleep over it. I mean, definitely check out
the animated one that came out around Halloween and definitely check out the actual
series that's on Shutter. I mean, I think it's amazing. I loved it. I'm glad
that we were able to get more creep show. I mean, if they give us another movie,
man, cool. I mean, I'm all for it, but for the show
that they did, I mean, I thought it was good and I was happy and excited when I first
heard the announcements. But,
out of everything they've done so far with the TV show, I think this is probably the weakest.
Oh, absolutely.
This, I think you said it right earlier.
This might have been a throwaway episode, throwaway story that they came up with.
Decided it wasn't good enough for the actual season and just kind of was like, oh, well,
we got to do like a holiday special.
Let's just throw it out there.
And there's what it is.
Yeah.
But, I mean, if you guys just want to see it, again, visually, it's cool.
But it's just, it was kind of a thrown-together story.
But, I mean, don't take our word for it.
I mean, I'm not writing stories for TV.
I have ideas, but I just can't put my ideas on paper because that's when I get lost.
Again, Creep Show is an amazing show.
And the first two movies are badass.
Don't even bother with the third one.
but this this one
it was it was good that we got a
a holiday horror special
of the thing there's all kinds of holiday
horror films and everything out there
if you listen to our black
Christmas retrospective of those
original and the two remakes that was cool
Saturday Night
we're going to tackle the rest next year everyone
we just kind of raised
it got away from us
I checked them out
and all I'm going to say is
they are movies.
Weird shit happens in it.
So we'll get to that next year.
Yeah, next year.
This year.
Oh, yeah, well, next Christmas, next holiday season.
Yeah.
We'll get the rest of those.
So our next episode is, I'm going to pick a movie that I've never seen.
I definitely know you've seen it, but you might not have seen it in a while.
And that is 1983s.
Crime Thriller 10 to Midnight.
Charles Bronson.
Yes, sir.
And if anybody wants to stream it, it is streaming on HBO Max.
Oh, I got the Blu-ray.
Yeah, I got a Blu-ray VHS and DVD.
But we'll get into that next week, everyone.
Okay, that tells me, this is going to be good.
Yes, you never seen it?
No, it's one that always escaped me.
I've heard of it, but it just.
Mike and I did it, I think.
I can't remember.
It was, well, I don't want to get into it now.
Next week, everyone, 10 and midnight.
Well, I'll get into it and tell you all our background stories of it.
I actually saw it with an, it was an amazing double feature.
And I'll tell you guys what the movie was next week.
Everyone, thank you so much for listening.
Yeah, this one was short and to the point, but it was a short little story.
So again, check it out if you want.
But if you don't, you're not, don't lose any sleepover.
You're not missing much.
But don't take our word for it.
I mean, still check it out if you're interested.
As far as that, everyone, thank you so much for listening to THR Present Stream Fiends.
Check out our Action Returns episode.
We cover the first die, the first two diehard films.
If you guys, if you could be listening to Action Returns, we already did the third one.
And I don't even know if we're going to tackle the rest.
Maybe, maybe not.
I don't know.
Maybe the fourth one.
Yeah, because the movie started to fall down the hill after the third one.
But more stream fiends, man.
There's plenty, plenty stuff out there to talk about.
Yeah, come back next week for a new episode.
So until then, everyone, please be safe out there and party on.
Yeah, definitely be safe out there.
And everybody just be fucking nice to each other.
We all got to live with each other.
So until then, everybody be safe.
