I have come to believe that there are those among you who have come to celebrate sin.
Rock groups that treat Satan as of inspiration.
I would single-handedly send them straight to hell.
Father Kiborne.
I'm suspending you from your sacramental obligations.
Showtime.
Welcome back, everybody, to another episode of THR Quick Reviews.
I'm your host, Brian.
And today we're going to talk about.
the 2019 horror comedy Death to Metal.
Quick synopsis, after a freak accident, a disturbed priest is transformed into a mutated
killing machine on a mission to wipe out godless fans of heavy metal music.
This is directed by Tim Connery, also written by Tim Connery, and this stars Alex Stein, Grace
Mellon, Andrew Jessup, Trent Johnson, and others.
and now that I have given you the basic outline of the movie,
we are going to hit you with a spoiler alert right now.
Okay.
After I seen the red band trailer to this,
I was really looking forward to watching this.
It looked like it was going to be heavy metal,
boobs, drugs, gore,
and man, I have to honestly say I was let down.
Some of the practical effects were pretty cool,
but as far as the kills,
I was probably only really digging maybe one or two
that I thought were pretty cool,
but it's very heavy on the metal,
light on the boobs, light on the, I would say gore.
I mean, there is gore,
but I just, I don't know.
And the story, I felt like I've seen this before.
Like the synopsis says a priest, he basically gets into a,
gets toxic waste dumped on him and turns into a monster.
Sounds like toxic Avenger except make him a priest.
And then he wants to kill heavy metal music and anybody who listens to it
because it is, you know, ungodly, you know,
And he must eradicate it, put it out, destroy it forever.
And he goes on this rampage, which you would think would be exciting.
But it takes probably half the movie to even get to the first kill.
And that first half was a little boring.
The comedy was not hitting for me.
The acting was fine.
But I would just have to say,
if you want to check this out
it's streaming now on 2B
but honestly
I would
probably pass on this
yeah
nothing really too much
to spoil here
like I said the comedy wasn't
hitting for me
the kills were kind of subpar
and the story was
nothing new
so yeah
I'm gonna leave it at that
