Good Wednesday afternoon, guys.
I'm Jerry Miller, and thank you kindly for joining us on the number one media platform
in Charlottesville, Almaral County, and across Central Virginia.
This is the I Love Seville Show, the water cooler of content and conversation.
We're looking forward to connecting with you, the viewer and listener, on today's program.
Today's show is going to hit a number of vulnerable and concerning spots within your
heart. Today's program is going to feature the troubling, fragile state that Alamar County Public Schools
continues to coexist and live within. Yesterday, there was a brawl on a Alamara County school
bus, a brawl so significant that the bus driver called the police department.
A route was stopped.
The police department investigated.
No arrests were made.
Still, it comes at a time where ACPS is struggling to find its identity and return to the form of pre-COVID 2018, 2019, when it was the gold star of the Commonwealth.
We're going to talk on today's show, a student walkout at Monticello High School.
I have video from the walkout for you, the viewer and listener.
Video of students walking out on a Wednesday before lunchtime in protest of the central office
dismissing, putting in time out, putting on ice, the principal in Mustang Country at Monticello High School.
On today's program, we're going to talk.
talk Ziana Bryant, the most notorious activists in Charlottesville, Virginia history, now a school
board member entrusted with spending hundreds of millions of dollars.
Diana Bryant has now called out, frankly ripped, frankly called into question the integrity
and trustworthiness of Dr. West Bellamy, formerly a city counselor, now a businessman.
who's actively involved with owning and running and operating the tonsler league
and having his hand in a number of other successful business entities and ventures.
Dr. Bellamy has come under fire and has certainly feeling the wrath of Zion Bryant.
If you remember just a handful of years ago,
Zai Bryant, while in high school, was working alongside Dr. Bellamy
for the removal of the R.E. Lee statue at Lee Park,
Emancipation Park, Market Street Park, Sandersville,
or whatever the hell we're calling this park on Market Street,
arguably the most recognizable and noticeable park in all of the entire city.
There's a lot we're going to talk about on today's program,
including Chris Henry, the developer of Dairy Market and Dairy Central,
the president of Stony Point Development,
now focused on phase three of Dairy Central, multifamily housing, a hotel.
He's also under Zion Bryant's fire.
And Chris Henry has indicated on the record that 28 apartments in this 278 apartment project,
28 affordable at 50% AMI, literally causes the project to lose money.
10% affordable tied at 50% AMI, 278 total, 28 at 50% AMI does not pencil out.
It's not economically viable to do the project without the hotel, a 133-room hotel planned for the center of town, a perfect location for it.
We'll talk about that today on the I Love Civo Show.
We will also discuss the Charlestville Redevelopment and Housing Authority,
and its plans for a $12.6 million buying spree,
a buying spree that is focused on homes in the city.
I want to ask you, the viewer and listener,
your thoughts on this $12.6 million buying spree.
And I'm also going to take it a step further
with the help of Deep Throat, if he's watching this program,
to connect the dots with violent crime in the city.
and tenants and renters of the Charlottesville redevelopment and housing authority.
There's a lot we're going to cover on the broadcast. Logan Wells Claylow is watching.
Carol Thorpe is watching the program.
We appreciate you.
Patricia Spicer Napoleon.
We appreciate you.
Hank Martin, we appreciate you.
Viewers and listeners like Malcolm Inge, we appreciate you.
If you like the show, like Tom Starchel and Vanessa Parkhill,
please share the show.
We work hard for you.
That's the only thing we ask and return.
Before we get to the walkout at Monticello High School,
with footage of the walkout,
I love to give some attention to Virginia Vacuum Company,
one of the sister companies of Charlottesville Sanitary Supply.
Virginia Vacuum Company,
Charlottesville Swimming Pool Company,
and Charlottesville Sanitary Supply
are who you contact for anything swimming pool related,
cleaning and sanitary related,
bono wood floor related,
meal vacuum related.
We're now in the final quarter of the year
where you want your house to be spotless
for Thanksgiving, for Christmas,
for the holidays, for New Year's,
for Halloween, for family visits.
Meala vacuum, that's the vacuum you want.
And you get it at Charlottesville Sanitary Supply
at East High Street.
On East High Street,
they are an authorized meal of vacuum dealer.
You do not know vacuums
and you've not had your house cleaned until you've had a meal vacuum do the work for you.
Authorized dealer, warrantied, mechanic on site should any problems arise.
Charlottesville Sanitary Supply and Virginia Vacuum Company.
Judah Wickhauer is the director of the show.
Judah Wickhauer is a trusted voice in this community.
Bob Yarborough, Juan Sarmiento, Jason Noble.
Welcome to the broadcast.
Troy Robinson.
Welcome to the broadcast.
Lonnie Murray, Richard Fox, Georgia Gilmer.
Welcome to the broadcast. Neil Williamson, welcome to the show. Print, radio, and television, welcome to the program.
City counselors, supervisors, delegates, and Commonwealth's attorneys. Welcome to the broadcast.
Studio camera, two-shot. Same question to start every program. You should not be surprised. My friend, you're counted on in this community.
Which storyline intrigues you today the most and why?
I'd probably go with the walkout.
It's pretty interesting, especially considering that it really doesn't, as far as we know,
it doesn't sound like any of the principals have been let go.
And to have all the kids making this such a big deal is...
I think it's a big deal.
Okay.
You don't think it's a big deal?
potentially, but I'm wondering if they know something that the rest of us don't.
I mean, they know what we all know, which is nothing.
Correspondents set from the central office that three principals at Almore County Public
School System schools are now in the timeout chair.
They're not fired.
Judah's made the point, but they're on paid leave.
They're not leading their respective schools, and they certainly are doing the,
walk of shame. The Saturday morning, the Sunday morning, walk of shame, a hookup the night before.
You're wearing the same clothes from Friday evening or Saturday night on Saturday morning or Sunday
morning. Same jacket, same shirt, same pants, same shoes. They probably got a little spill on them
from some cold beverages you drank the night before, and now you're walking to your house after
a sleepover. It's the walk of shame. These three principles are doing the educational walk of shame.
Their name has been in the headlines.
Their photos have been in the headlines.
And now students are responding.
Parents are responding.
Thousands that watch this program are responding because we don't know anything.
It's been terrible comms, terrible communication from the central office.
Frankly, how Chandra Hayes, the interim superintendent, has handled this, has left a tremendous amount to be desired.
She's had to ask retired principals like Rick Verhovaq, the former head football coach at Amaral High School.
The same Rick Verhovaq who filled in at Henley Middle School,
when the Henley Middle School principal from a little while ago
was arrested for an assault on a family member,
caused her to lose her job.
Verhovec filled in, came out of retirement,
rose from the ashes to take the spot at Henley.
Now he's doing it at Monticello.
And today, not even one hour ago, viewers and listeners,
And we have video footage that you should get ready to put on screen.
Get ready.
Parents and viewers and listeners tag a friend.
Share the show.
Let someone know what's going on in this community
and the fact that they should be watching Charlottesville's number one media platform.
We're going to show video footage of students walking out at Monicello High School.
You have that footage ready to go.
We need to put the lower third on screen with photo credit or video credit of the video footage.
Lower third ready to go?
How much time do you need on that?
Parents, walkouts are dangerous.
Kids not in school during the day,
when parents drop their kids off at school
with the understanding that they're going to be in a safe environment
to then find out later in the day
that they left that safe environment
and ventured on busy streets, roadways,
and out of the safety, the purview of safety of teachers,
and administrators and school resource officers, that's worrisome.
And it comes on the heels yesterday of a brawl at an Almaro County public school bus.
A brawl is so significant that police were called to investigate the brawl,
a route that was stopped mid-rout for police to investigate.
We're going to play that video footage here once Judah Wickhauer's got the lower third
and the video credit ready to go.
It looks like he now has that ready to go.
give me the video. Can we do it in about seven seconds?
Seven.
Six. Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Judah.
Cue up the video footage of the walkout.
Now, please.
Keep playing them.
Can they hear us?
Yeah.
This is worrisome.
viewers and listeners.
This is worrisome.
And this is in protest of the principal at Monticello High School being put on ice.
I think we have a graphic we can also put on screen.
There's a bar stool Instagram account tied to Monticello High School that has led this walkout charge.
Graphic on screen and then put us back on screen due to Wickhauer.
the caption for the barstool account says,
and it's ripe with grammatical errors.
I mean, geez, Louise, this is terrible.
The copy I'll read verbatim,
they tryna, they tryna, take Costa away from us.
Walk out for Costa tomorrow.
They will not take the best principle away from us.
Get her off, leave pronto.
All because she took too long to set an email.
That's kind of BS.
if you ask me, keep the bathrooms for bathroom use only.
Hand emoji, slap on the face.
Stop doing drugs, the hashtag.
The graphic is actually fairly creative,
but it looks like some AI slop, frankly.
The caption looks like it's been written by somebody
that certainly did not do any hooked on phonics,
and it's much more of the mindset of abonics instead of hooked on phonics.
But hey, that's how you want to write.
and for the community read, I was young once as well.
Where do you want to go with this Judah Wickar?
Where do you want to start?
I think I'd like to start with the fact that I certainly appreciate the students' loyalty to Ms. Costa.
Whatever you think about their, I don't know if you want to call it activism,
But whatever you think of their walking out, and I personally think that schools should be taking a harder stance against kids just leaving grounds whenever they feel like it to protest ICE or protest a principal who's getting a little time off.
I appreciate that they're willing to stick their necks out for the principal.
Though how far they're sticking their necks out if there's not any chance that any of them are going to get in trouble for this is questionable.
How many of the kids are standing up for Dr. Costa and how many of the kids just want to be truant and play hooky from school?
I asked this question during the ICE protest that consumed Almar County public schools and Charlottesville City schools.
I said, how much of this is genuine and authentic and how many of this is, goodness gracious, I want to get out of geometry and Soca, Toa and A square plus B squared equals C squared and the Pythagorean theorem.
I mean, how much? We'll never know the answer to that.
how much is this going to have an effect?
Will this be effective?
I can't imagine this is effective in any capacity.
Since we don't know, since we don't even know why she's on leave,
yeah, it's definitely hard to say that this will have any effect on the decision making of those in charge of the decision.
The students that walked out claim she's been put on ice or sent to the timeout chair in the corner
because she did not report to parents in timely capacity.
The overdose from a couple days ago
where the letter of the law suggests that school administrators
have to contact the parents within 24 hours.
The contact was made in the Monticello case
at the 30-hour marker for the overdose.
I find it hard to believe that this is about that.
I also find it hard to believe that it's about that as well.
But the clandestine nature of the communication
from the central office, as all of us in conspiracy theory mode.
Speculating.
We are speculating because we're human.
We're speculating because the comms from Grant and from Chandra Hayes, the interim superintendent, were poor.
And because the comms were poor, this is the cause and effect.
Jason Hampshire is watching the program.
He says, those being taught by people who live a life of penchalent childness,
shockingly acting, petulant, and childish.
Jason Noble is watching the program.
Jason's photo on screen.
This is more evidence that Almore County Public Schools
is cultivating activists rather than educating kids.
Hank Martin says it's the absence of critical thinking skills.
I mean, if you guys want to see something crazy,
is read the Monticello High School Barstool captions.
I'll give you the Instagram handle.
underscore MHS barstool one, the number one.
The handle again, underscore MHS barstool one.
And you'll see the walkout, you'll see video footage.
I mean, this is a parent's worst nightmare,
where you're dropping kids off at school and they don't stay at school.
And you don't know about it.
I would assure you if the parents, those that were dropping kids off,
it's, my household, I'm not going to speculate for other households.
If we had any indication that our oldest son or our youngest son was going to school to plan a walkout of leaving school, our son would not be going to school that day.
And our sons would have amenities or enjoyment stripped from their lives as a result as well.
Because we hold them accountable.
And the expectation as parents is not to be their friend.
there's times to be their friend,
but our jobs as moms and dads
are not to be their friends
is to help.
Instead, it's to help them be the best versions of themselves.
That's our job as parents with kids.
Comments, put them in the feed,
we will relay them live on air.
Also in the news cycle, the walkout,
another story happened in the last 24 hours.
A brawl so significant
within the Almore County Public School System
on a school bus that the police had to be called.
Did you read that story, Judah?
No, I haven't seen that one yet.
No arrest made.
The Almore County Police Department
response to a brawl on a county school bus
yesterday at 5.19 p.m.
Disorder call was placed.
The bus at the intersection of Lambs Lane
and hydraulic road.
The bus driver
was on the second leg of a route.
The first leg had already been finished.
The second leg
with a bus shortly after it left
Journey Middle School.
An email was sent to families of students
who ride bus 23.
No arrests have been made.
The bus was running a doubleback route,
meaning it had already done one run with students
and was leaving the school on its second run of the day.
All this could,
coincides with the dismissal of the principals. All this coincides with the Allison Spillman,
Bozy Beam Spillman, resignation, the David Storm questionable replacement, the Kata Cuff
call for removal, the petition that's circulating to get her off the board. Sally Duncan,
the Amore County supervisor, calling out the Amher County School Board, saying it's acting shady
and... Not to mention the central office.
Alleging cover-up. A central office that's in...
shambles. Haas's forced resignation. School board replaces Haas with Chandra Hayes, his right-hand
person, the same person who led the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for ACPS that have
garnered tremendous heat, including from the president, Donald Trump, by name identifying
ACPS. The Joe McCauley resignation, Holly Meade principal, the Mike Sweeney investigation for
multiple alleged sexual assaults, the teacher at Woodbrook for the child pornography,
and the Sally Duncan called it a mother's whisper network that continues to make mention,
certainly to me, the host of this show, of sketchy behavior in the Western Amarral Feeder
pattern at Brownsville, Henley, and Western, including teachers dating students.
I continue to be bombarded by this.
So much so that one viewer and listener who asked for anonymity
who's a
what's it called when you're expected to make an announcement
if you see of sketchy behavior with kids?
Oh, a mandatory reporter.
Watched and listened to our show and said,
the people that are sending the information to you
if they're mandatory reporters and they're not reporting,
legitimately what's happening, that they also will be liable.
One viewer and listener, Ginny Who, who watches the program, who I trust, says, everything
that's happening now is the collateral damage or the whistleblowing that has come from the David
Storm appointment because folks were frustrated that Storm was chosen by the board to replace
Spillman.
And because that appointment went towed the company line, Almore County Democrats, tow the
company line, ACPS, operate as we always do. Now the whistleblowers are fed up and the,
you know what, is hitting the fan. So here we are. I want to give some attention to Conan Owen
in Sir Speedy, Central Virginia. Conan and Sir Speedy of Central Virginia are who our firm uses
for signage, for vinyl lettering, for direct mail, the banners behind Judah and I are
Conan Owen and Sir Speedy Central Virginia.
We have 24 tenants in our real estate portfolio.
A lot of them are commercial.
A lot of them are downtown.
Their signage needs are done by Conan and Sirius, Central Virginia.
The buildings that we help lease and fill locally,
Conan Owen and Sirspedia Central Virginia.
This guy's doing good work.
He's a Darden graduate.
It's locally owned and operated and he's good at his job.
Sir Speedy of Central Virginia.
Tom Starchle watching the program.
the Golden Apple Award winner and the retired ACPS educator, Tom Sargill.
He says the precedent for leaving and the blessing for doing so was set earlier this year.
It was fine with administrators then.
He's referencing the ICE truancy protests and walkouts, Tom Sargill.
And perhaps he's right.
I mean, if you can walk out when you see fit, why stay in school to learn?
Yeah.
I mean, as long as you know overdo it,
It's kind of like a little free one day of vacation whenever you want.
Yeah, you got a tough test that day.
Let's activate and protest and walk out.
And I said this yesterday.
I think we're going to point back to 2025 and 2026 as the great migration out of ACPS for well-heeled families.
It's what Hank Martin called the best free advertising for private.
schools locally. And this will eventually lead the gentrification of education at what was previously
the gold star in the Commonwealth, Almar County Public Schools. All right. Next storyline, Judah Wickcarrow,
what is it? Offer the headlines. Patrick McAdams, his photo on screen, Dear Almore County Public
Schools, Patrick McAdams writes, please put down the shovel. Patrick McAdams, please put down the shovel
digging their own grave.
I think he's what he's referencing there.
Patrick McCabbs.
Next storyline, what do you got?
Next up, we've got Zai Bryant.
Diana Bryant.
Good reporting from the Civo Weekly on this.
Interesting article from
Kate Ratliff.
She does good work. I'll commend her for this.
She covered the meeting
Chris Henry.
had last week, Dairy Central, Phase 3, where he wants 278 apartments.
He wants a hotel.
He wants parking, 133-room hotel.
And he wants to do it at a location where Preston Sudd's laundromat is
and where an empty parking lot is,
where he's legally, by the letter of the law, allowed to do it, by the zoning law,
and already has tremendous skin in the game,
for example, $10,000 allocated to the application.
I don't even know how many hours,
hundreds of hours have put into this,
hundreds of thousands of dollars of effort,
and frankly, the opportunity cost of not moving forward,
the time, the investment of time,
into a project like this.
He is being verbally excoriated.
That's better than I said.
Put that in perspective for the viewers.
listeners. That's an SAT word.
I mean, it's kind of the usual suspects, the usual arguments.
It's you don't care about us.
You don't, I mean, like you mentioned, Zai Bryant is turning on Belamy, though West Belamy,
though that's, I think, becoming a cyclical occurrence every few years.
they're probably going to butt heads and clash.
She seems to have taken over for the voice of the 10th and page neighborhood.
I can make a convincing argument, viewers and listeners that are watching and listening
this show, a convincing argument, and I'm hesitant to say this, but it's, I don't mince words
on the program.
That's why the show works.
I can make a convincing argument that Diana Bryant is the most powerful person
in Charleston, Virginia right now.
Diana Bryant, her
resume of power, are you ready?
Robert Lee statue removed.
One of the driving forces
behind A-11 and A-12.
Ziona Bryant
gets a park rebranded,
a statue removed, despite
the philanthropic
promise
to
Mr. McIntyre
who gave the
city land, an entire city block he gave to Charlottesville. This is McIntyre of the McIntyre School of
Commerce. He gave McIntyre Park with the criteria that it always stay McIntyre Park, with the criteria
that it would always stay a park with the McIntyre moniker and that the, excuse me, excuse me,
that it would always be called Lee Park with the Lee statue in there and always be a public park
for people. You can have this land if you promise that the R.E. Lee statue stays there,
that it's always called Lee Park and that it always stays a public place for people to enjoy.
Two of those three criteria, the city broke a promise, a documented promise with Mr. McIntyre,
who's long since been gone. Ziana Bryant led that charge.
Zana Bryant's on the school board.
Half of Charlottesville's yearly budget is allocated by school board members.
There's no more powerful person on the school board than Zionabriant.
Ziona Bryant was the driving force behind Morgan Benegers,
to call it fall from grace is an understatement.
I mean, that would require that she actually had something to fall from,
but it wasn't anything that she had actually done.
So I would call it a shotgun.
gun job. Yeah, Zion and Bryant basically murdered the personal and professional reputation of Morgan
Beniger, which also included her expulsion from school. That since has been rescinded, and I think
she's been paid out by the University of Virginia. Yeah. All because Ziana Bryant heard from
somebody else that Morgan Benninger might have said something about a black women's matter protest
on Water Street.
Something that she chose to interpret as
offensive.
Exactly.
Zion Bryant now is the
voice and the
pitch woman of the 10th and
page neighborhood.
She's got the most
significant historically black neighborhood
that have given her
the keys to the
Camaro, keys to the
neighborhood.
And Ziona Bryant now is able to
utilize
the leverage of being the pitch woman
of a historically black neighborhood
to basically kibosh a development
project that is
hundreds of millions of dollars
would generate
even more of that in perpetuity
with tax revenue for the city
would create 278 apartments
133 room hotel
repurpose a laundromat that everyone
looks as if it was the Holy
Grail. He's going to make a new one, and I believe it's also going to be
accessible as a community meeting place.
It's a laundromat and community town hall area that could
be leased and rented and would be a gathering spot for the 10th and page neighborhood.
Chris Hendrick trying to do the right thing. What came from that meeting
that was not previously reported, I was not in attendance at this meeting.
Kate Ratliff was of the CIVO Weekly.
It seems there's some kind of
cahoots or partnership with Chris Henry and Stony Point Development and Dr. West Bellamy.
Yes, the Dr. West Bellamy that was previously on counsel.
Yes, the Dr. West Bellamy that previously worked with Zion Bryant with a press conference
at Lee Park where West Bellamy trotted out an adolescent Zy Bryant.
A Zy Bryant who had adolescent stage said this Lee statue is offensive to me,
which led to August 11th and August 12th in the removal of the statue,
the same West Belomie that went loggerheads with Mike Signer and Kathy Galvin
and Heather Hill.
Yeah.
The same West Bellamy that runs the Tonsler Basketball League,
I believe he purchased it from Damien Banks,
the same West Bellamy that is getting hundreds of thousands of dollars invested into the
Tonsler League, courtesy of city taxpayers and grant money, funded and funneled from city council to
the Tonsler League. Now there's a cahoots or some kind of partnership with Chris and Stony Point
where Dr. Bellamy is the, I guess, the point of contact for the new laundromat.
When the 10th and Page neighborhood brought up what was going to happen to Preston Suds
because it was a laundromat used by the 10th and page neighborhood
because much of the neighborhood does not have washer-dryer facilities in their houses.
West Bellamy raised his hand and indicated that he was one of the leaders
within the 10th and page neighborhood that was going to coordinate the new laundromat
that Stony Point was going to do at the site of Dairy Central Phase 3.
Dr. Bellamy says,
on the record, quote, I've owned three laundromats in the past, so I have some experience.
The space that Chris Henry is suggesting is conducive for community, in my personal opinion.
People need that kind of space, so I think that it has a great deal of potential to be a huge benefit for the community.
We keep the laundromat for the community.
We keep the laundromat in the community.
We have it for us and buy us, end quote.
Bellamy says that at the 10th and page activist neighborhood where activist meeting where the 10th and page neighborhood is verbally ripping Chris Henry and Stodie Point.
Then Diana Bryant grabs the microphone immediately after West Bellamy speaks and says this to the entire room.
10th and page, West Bellamy, Chris Henry, the Stony Point lawyers, and everyone in attendance, including Juan Wade and Michael Payne and media.
Diana Bryant says this, and I quote,
Be very careful and be very weary of the vultures
who will come into our neighborhood and try to profit off of this.
Everyone who is skinfolk ain't kinfolk, end quote.
Yeah, it should be wary.
Those are fighting words from Zion Bryant.
Yeah, for anyone who doesn't understand the skinfolk,
8 ain't kinfolk quote. She's essentially saying that just because West Bellamy and her have the same
skin color, or that West Bellamy and the other residents of Tenth and Page have the same skin color,
does not necessarily mean that West Bellamy has their best interests at heart.
Yes, we know.
Like you said, definitely fighting words. Those are fighting words.
She, yeah, that's not, that's not holding back.
Those are fighting words right there.
Then she proceeds to call out Michael Payne and Juan Diego Wade,
the mayor of Charlottesville.
She highlights that Chris Henry is Juan Diego Wade's
or was Juan Diego Wade's top political contributor,
puts Juan Diego Wade on the spot and says,
hey, Juan, the top donor to your campaign is this man here,
who's trying to get this project to prove right here in our black neighborhood.
What are you going to do about this, Juan?
Are you going to approve this project?
Are you going to do a zoning text amendment
that keeps projects like this from happening next to historically marginalized neighborhoods?
And Juan Diego Wade, not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
In fact, the knife is quite dull, goes basically like this.
Well, I guess.
What do you want?
Zai. Zay? What should
Zy? Zoning
text amendment. Yes, Zoning
text amendment. Zoning text amendment.
Where's my vest button? Where's my helmet?
Zoning text amendment.
Of course Michael Payne's zoning text amendment.
He's been pushing that from day one.
This is getting real.
And as Carol Thorpe says, her photo on
screen, the queen of Jack Jewett,
Zy versus West, Carol Thorpe says.
Grab you popcorn.
I'm here for it.
Grab your popcorn.
Carol Thorpe says,
grab your popcorn.
Vanessa Parkhill's photo on screen.
And for all of Zai Bryant's efforts,
how have things improved in the city?
I'm afraid the same people she hoped to lift up
probably still need lifting up.
Yeah.
From the queen of Jack Jewett.
Excuse me, the queen of Earleysville, Vanessa Parkill.
Judah Wickhauer, your commentary.
And then we'll get to more viewers and listeners' commentary.
John Blair, I'm getting to your comment in a matter of moments.
I mean,
grab your popcorn.
You know,
I guess the neighborhood trusts her.
I'm not sure what they think
she's going to get them.
But
there's more to this than just
ruining a neighborhood
out of spite,
which is obviously not why Chris Henry is doing this.
I mean, some of the community benefits include small business grants,
jobs, use of the old Trinity Church,
black artisans market, 87,000 donations.
You know, and...
Chris Henry is repurposing the laundry match.
He doesn't have to do that.
He's building a neighborhood community center.
He doesn't have to do that.
He literally can do this project according to the zoning code now.
He doesn't need to take this crap.
Chris Henry, I hope you hear this.
I saw you on Friday.
You are, I want you to hear this.
You're a better man than me.
You're a more patient man than me.
You are handling this project, Chris Henry, with more grace and empathy than me.
Your emotional intelligence is much more significant than mine.
you are handling this way better than I would have.
If it was me in this position and your position,
I would have already done this project.
Years ago, when you went into the church and took the verbal arrows
and decided to put the project on ice years ago during COVID.
And from years ago, when you got verbally ripped
in the historically black church during,
COVID, look at how your opponents have strengthened.
Zionabrient, Denver, Zionabriot now, you now have a Zionabriant that's a school board
member.
You have a Zion Bryant that has so much moxie and hutzpah that she's squishing, smushing,
she's suffocating, West Bellamy.
She's using her weight to,
to influence and overpower West Bellamy?
Why do you chuckle there?
I'm not saying anything.
Why are you getting red there?
Am I getting red?
She's a powerful, influential person.
She's using her weight, a powerful and influential person.
She's using her weight with West Bellamy as a powerful and influential person.
That's all I'm saying.
Look at how she's gotten more robust and strong with power.
more significant the size, the power that she has.
Look.
And the two years from the church to now.
Now she has the whole neighborhood behind her.
John Blair's photo on screen.
Jerry, it's worth noting that the 10% affordable units,
the 10% affordable unit inclusive zoning originated in most places in the 2010s,
perhaps during the ZERP era,
there were a few projects large enough,
think 600 plus units in Austin or Raleigh where it could work.
But for anything less than 500 units during an era of much higher interest rates,
there probably is no way to make it work.
And that's the next headline.
Chris Henry literally says in this CIVO weekly article,
look, there's 278 apartments.
Me allocating 28 or 10% of these apartments to 50% area median income,
which is 70 grand,
means that this project loses money,
if I do not include a hotel of 133 keys.
He's literally saying, I'm doing an epic,
this is so crazy.
The dude is literally saying I'm doing a project
that's 278 apartments.
Yeah.
10% of them, 28, are tied to 50% AMI.
If I just did the apartments,
I would lose money on this project.
I have to have the 133 room hotel
for this to make sense.
he can't be more honest than that.
Right.
And what developer, do you understand that these numskulls are going to basically keep any development from happening at all?
You got a, you got floating debt that's getting more expensive than ever.
You got an interest rate environment that's going to start crippling projects.
You've got a political landscape that's riddle with landmines and like these trap doors
where if you fall the wrong way or you take the wrong step,
you're falling down like an Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Last Arc, like pit of rattlesnakes and cobras.
Wasn't Indy in one of those situations where he was in a pit of rattlesnakes and cobras at one time?
Indy!
What are you going to do here?
let's just get out that whip that's on my belt and use that whip with my Harrison Ford hat and my jacket to try to get out of there in some kind of Superman, Batman, Robin fashion.
How does Indy get out of those things? Chris can't get out of those cobras.
What was it?
What?
How's Chris Henry going to get out of the pit of rattlesnakes and cobras?
Indy can do it, but he doesn't have the whip or the Harrison Ford hat, the Indiana Jones hat.
he's got a tucked-in golf shirt and some spectacles on
some khaki pants
there's no whip and there's no indie hat
who would do projects in this city
why would you do it
the only people that are going to do it are the people that did the standard
and the mark and then all they care about is building them in exiting
and they're from out of town so they don't give a rat's ass about anybody

The Temple of Doom is just like, it's kind of goofy.
But, you know, it came out when I was a kid.
So it's, that one probably holds a larger spot in my.
What is it?
There was Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom in 1984,
and Indiana Jones in the last crusade in 1989.
Then there was the Indiana Jones in the kingdom, the Crystal Skoll in 2008,
in Indiana Jones in the Dial of Destiny in
2003.
I've only ever seen the first three.
Snakes!
Why did it have to be snakes?
I said, always snakes.
Why isn't it always snakes?
It belongs in a museum.

It's going to take an Indiana Jones

Can you imagine Juan Diego Wade
in the crossfire of Zion and Bryant
in front of the 10th and page neighborhood
Juan Diego Wade under his arm perched on his hip, his Vespah helmet.
He's got, here's Juan with his Vespa helmet here.
And Ziana Bryant says, Juan, this is a school board member talking to the mayor.
The mayor who is one of five people who allocates the budget to the school board to fund the school system.
And Ziana Bryant, flexing her.
robust power to Juan Wayne.
One.
Chris Henry is your number one donor.
To your campaign.
What are you going to do?
Side with him and his money.
Or this neighborhood here.
And then the entire 10th and page neighborhood
looks at Juan Diego Wade.
And Juan Wayne goes,
zoning text amendment,
sigh?
This is literally facts.
You can't.
make this up. What do you want? What do you want, Zai? You can't make this up. You can't make this up. You can't make this up? And then Michael Payne says, zoning text amendment. There's two of, there's two. You don't tell me, Jen Fleischer's not going to do zoning text amendment. She just spent the last month and a half living at the Rivetta River at Tentown, fraternizing with the Tentown tenants before Tent Town and the tenants had Tent Town torn down.
Torched and torn down.

Is it Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello, and what they did to Splinter?
They loved that poor rat.

A lot of pop culture references here.
Neil Williamson is hammering the like button.
I think the president of the Free Enterprise Forum respects the pop culture references
as a pop culture aficionado himself.
He's going to be here Friday.
I bet he's going to have some insightful things to say about all this.
Amen, brother.

Neil.
Can't wait to see you.
All right.
It's 127.
Oh, do I have a 130 going on?
I think I...
Let me look at my counter right here.
All right, I have a 145 call.
Next headline, what do you got you to work out?
Heroes in a half shells.
Holly Foster, her photo on screen.
I can't believe the citizens of Charlottesville are allowing
Zion Abryant to destroy their city.
So sad.
This is the work of a bully.
She's a bully.
Yeah.
This is exactly a bully.
I don't know anybody that's ruined someone's life through that level of bullying.
the way she did with
Bettinger.
That's why Chris, you're watching,
listen to the program. Chris, there's few people
that could step up
to a bully on the playground like you.
There's few people more equipped
financially,
politically, and socially
suited to go
toe to toe with Zion Bryant's
robust power than you.
And Chris,
I mean, if you don't
step up to a bully, the bully is going to keep bullying.
Like, you got to kind of do it here.
And how you kind of do it is DC3, D.C. 3, Dairy Central 3.
Do the hotel, do the 278 apartments, and put her in check, dog.
I mean, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello certainly would have done it.

As we give some attention to, Snow knows outdoor living.
Corbyn's Snow.
and Snow Nose Outdoor Living are doing a patio and fire pit and seating wall at our house.
We have some hand-picked planings, some beautiful white hydranias that my wife selected,
and we're also complementing the patio project with turf.
It's an area that was going to be difficult to cut with a lawnmower.
So we decided to go the turf route for this area.
You saw it on the other side.
It's about 275 square feet.
Corbin, Corbin, snow.

My wife literally said to me, working with Snow's has been joyful.
Joyful.
Her words.
Next headline, Judahwick hour at the 130 marker.
We've got to get to work here.
Corbin.
Corbin.
Yeah.
Well, I think this is important.
Why is nobody talking about this?
The Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority is planning a $12.6 million buying spree for Charlottesville homes.
No one is talking about this.
No one.
Ginny Who, I'm going to get to your comments on a matter of moments.
The Charlottesville Redevelop and Housing Authority is moving forward with approximately 12.6 million in acquisitions
involving nearly a dozen single family properties across Charlottes.
This according to Sean Tubbs.
The broader strategy is usually enough to merit scrutiny
rather than only constructing large affordable housing projects.
CRHA is acquiring individual properties dispersed through existing neighborhoods.
CRHA is also pursuing federal permission related to demolition of units at West Haven.
Why does this matter, Judah?
Well, $12.6 million is a lot of effing money, and it's public capital.
Why does this matter? The central question isn't whether Charlottesville needs affordable housing.
It plainly has substantial demand. Instead, it's whether purchasing existing housing represents the most cost-effective use of limited housing dollars.
Questions that I also consider, what's the average acquisition price per home?
How many total bedrooms does 12.6 million buy? What are the renovation costs?
how are properties selected?
What rents will residents pay?
How does cost per unit compare with the building
with building new affordable apartments?
Those are questions I have.
This is the same Charlottesville redevelopment
and housing authority that is under the Fed's scrutiny
for illegal PPP money during COVID.
The same Charlottesville redevelopment
and housing authority
who, the same Charlottesville redevelopment
and housing authority.
authority that just saw its executive director shockingly resign, John Sales.
Sal's, sales?
Who cares?
He pieced out.
Salas?
Salas?
Salas?
Salas?
Salas?
It could be any one of the three.
John Shredder?
Sales, Salas.
He quit.
You have an executive director that surprisingly quit at a time that the feds are investigating
the CRHA for illegal
PPP money.
The same Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, where if you tracked violent
criminals and violent crime and the people associated with violent crime and violent
criminals, the overwhelming majority of the violent crime and violent criminals are tied
to people in CRAHA houses.
Seriously, like deep throat sent me the metrics.
I think he might be in D.C. for some kind of heavy hitter event here.
He sent me the information.
The violent crime and the violent criminals in CRAHA direct correlation.
And here they're not on a $12.6 million buying spree.
All right.
The last topic, viewers and listeners, has got to be the Saturday football game.
Is it a 330 kick with Florida State?
Saturday.
The who's continue to be favored.
I'm shocked by this.
Two and a half point favorites, Virginia, three and one,
against two and two, Florida State, 330, ESPN.
is it ESPN 2 in the coverage, J-dubs?
I think it's ESPN2. I don't think you listed that.
Two and a half point favorites.
Comments, put them in the feed. I'll relay them live on air.
William McChesney is watching the program.
I hate snakes. Why does it always have to be snakes?
Bill McChesney says, Ziona Bryant frightens me.
She needs to be removed.
Georgia Gilmer talks about the traffic
impact study that was a part of the settlement of the lawsuit against the city's new zoning
ordinance. How does it affect current building within the city? She's big on the traffic impact
study, Georgia Gomer. Patricia Ritz-McChamie says, everyone's afraid of Zion and Bryant.
Everyone. Hank Martin, Bryant's version to Bellamy. Oh, he's, he's, Diana Bryant
basically called West Bellamy, what Don Gathers called Juan Diego Wade. Yeah.
that's what Hank Martin is saying.
Yeah, I think he's talking about in reference to the skin-ship, what, skinfolk ain't kinfolk.
Yeah.
She's basically saying you're an Uncle Tom.
Yeah, she's calling West Bellamy and Uncle.
And Ziana Bryant's calling West Bellamy and Uncle Tom.
Yeah.
That's what she's doing right there.
And saying he cannot be trusted.
Yeah.
Ziana Bryant said that to Wes.
We'll give some attention to Stanley Martin Holmes.
Did you guys know Stanley Martin Holmes is built 600 homes?
More than 600 homes in the last two years in the Central Virginia area.
Did you know that Stanley Martin Holmes, ladies and gentlemen,
is building nearly 80 homes outside Glenmore,
nearly 50 homes in the Fry Springs neighborhood,
and hundreds of homes in Green County?
There is no more prolific of a developer in Charlottesville in Central Virginia
in Elmore County and Central Virginia than Stanley Martin Holmes.
Stanley Martin Holmes.
innovative, trustworthy, communicative, creative.

Stanley Martin Holmes, folks.
Judah Wickhauer did a great job.
That was 70 straight minutes.
Oh, Ginny Who's comments.
Go to Ginny Who's.
Sorry, Jenny, I forgot.
Ginny Hu said,
I saw some of the students from the Monticello walkout
visiting local businesses.
So, hey, at least the economy won today, right?
insert sarcasm.
She also says,
that innuendo gave me a flashback
to everyone throwing their dove soap away.
At one time,
Ziana Bryant was a pitch woman
for dove soap.
I heard innuendo
and I thought Italian suppository.
That was a dad joke.
It's an oldie, but a goodie.
It was still very good.
You're on point today.
