Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the White Mountain Ministry Show. I am your host, Nate Kibler. I thank you for watching, for listening, for praying, and being a part of what the Lord is going to do through this show today. Hey, this ain't church, y'all, but it is all about the kingdom of God. I'm very excited for our guest today. Mr. Uri Hershberger is joining us live from Worcester, Ohio. If I said that wrong, he will correct me. And we are going to get him so we can see his beautiful face just here in a minute. And yeah, so we are what, one week away from election day, and this is not a political show. I'm not going to get into politics on this show, but I will encourage you to get out and vote because this matters to God. It matters to God. He's been anointed and appointing leaders really for centuries and centuries ago, and it matters to God who is leading the free
Starting point is 00:01:20 world. And I just encourage you to ask Holy Spirit if you have any question of who you're supposed to vote for, especially if you're Christian. I do not believe for a second that Holy Spirit is going out and telling Yuri to vote for one candidate and me to vote for the other. I do believe as the body of Christ that we need to be united on this. So in the next week, definitely be praying and interceding for our country, I think. And I know that that is very important. Pray for the hearts of whatever the election results are. Pray for people to be kind, to be peaceful, and to be loving, and to just know that, guys, whatever happens, I believe that we're going to be okay because Jesus Christ is King, and He is Lord, and He is Savior, and I always vote for the kingdom of God. So bless you guys. Share
Starting point is 00:02:06 the show. Please share the show. Yuri, if you haven't shared the show on your page, please share the show so all of Yuri's friends and followers can see what he's going to bring today. I know it's going to be powerful. So I also want to thank our sponsor and partners with Opening Doors Real Estate and Melanie Morris. They have their new brokerage that just opened by Dunkin' Donuts on the corner of Route 29 with the intersection of Greene County and Albemarle. So thank them. They are amazing. They came out on Sunday to the heart of the home and watched me and my wife give a message.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And Melanie and David are great people. So we honor them as well. So Judah, if you can get Yuri on, that would be amazing. Let us know when we can see Yuri. Yuri, you're loved, sir. How are you? I'm doing good. Good to talk to you again, Nate.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Yeah, absolutely. We talked about this off the air, but the first show I've never worn a hat. And you did. And the first show I just knew you said is not a beard. Jerry Miller said it's a beard, but I honor you today so we can see my little beard that I'm growing because that is an awesome beard. Oh, thank you. Have you ever cut that beard? I did. I did once when my, when my older kids were little and they're around 40 years old now. And my wife had been after me to cut my beard off, so one day I was shaving, and I just decided to whack it all off. And when I came out of the bathroom, the kids took a look at me and went running crying.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And my wife took one look at me and said, oh, you'll have to grow that right back again. Oh, man, that is awesome. Usually kids cry when they see a man with a beard, but I guess yours cries when it gets cut off. So that is hilarious. It's a tribal value. But thank you for being with us. And, you know, I'll get you to share a little bit about yourself here in a minute. But I always like to talk about you are our kingdom connection for the week.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And, you know, I'm not plucking people out of thin air, just trying to get known people on the show. We do have a relationship, and we actually met for the first time, I guess it was about a year and a half ago, at our both mutual friend, dear friends, John and Linda Martin, at their conference, their intercessor conference in Ohio, in Ohio 2023 is where we first met. And then this past summer in July, you and I were both there as speakers and got to minister together.
Starting point is 00:04:29 And that was an honor. And so I want to honor John and Linda for connecting us. And, you know, the kingdom is like, gosh, connections, connections, connections, connections. It's such a, I believe, important thing. And I don't know if you can touch on this at all because I know you're a man with great connections. And I believe that you're a connector as well. And, you know, sometimes I used to think as a connector, um, gosh, it's almost like I used to get discouraged if I would connect people and they forgot about me, but that's so not the kingdom of God. We have to
Starting point is 00:04:59 connect people and know that, uh, they're, they're not, uh, we don't claim, you know, we're always trying to claim people. And, uh, but we're, we're, we're called to connect people and know that they're not, we don't claim, you know, we're always trying to claim people. But we're called to connect people, and that's a beautiful thing for the body of Christ. So I don't know if maybe you can even just talk about connections and what that looks like in the body. There's a verse, Ephesians chapter 4, that talks about what every joint supplies for the body. And the Lord made it clear to us that we are a joint in the body of Christ. We're not just another part of the body, but we're actually a place where parts come together. And it talks about supply that flows through the joints. And so because I've recognized that a man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great matter
Starting point is 00:05:46 and before people of influence. And so I tell our people that it's very important that we operate in our gift because that's where grace meets with us and that's where supply flows. And so we are more focused on what we give to the body of Christ in the region than what we take. We like to be here to empower, to equip, to meet needs, and in whatever way that we can that God gives us grace for to enrich the body of Christ in our region, including we have a strong focus on raising leaders for the body of Christ. So what does it look like for you to raise a leader? When you say raising leaders, what does that look like? What are you called to do? Well, it was something that I guess I first had a clue about back about 1989. You know, there was all these well-meaning people around me that
Starting point is 00:06:42 said, you know, you need to launch out. God has given you. It's time for you to launch out in the body of Christ and your ministry. And so the only way I knew how to do that was to start having a meeting. So I gathered a bunch of guys together in the back room of my shop. And a lot of guys showed up. And we had a time of worship. And I ministered the word to them and prophesied over all of them. And I thought it was great. And as the guys left, all of them said, hey,
Starting point is 00:07:11 let us know when you do this again. This was a great evening. And I was feeling really good about myself. And as they were leaving, I heard the Lord say, you can have this. You can have packed out meetings. You can be the man of the hour, or you can have my will for your life. And I said, Lord, what do you mean? I thought this was your will. The Lord says, this is not what I've called you to. I've called you to be a father. And a few years later, I found myself in Northern Virginia, in the Manassas area, and God had called me to serve another pastor, and it ended up being seven years, and after I got there, I found out this guy actually expected me to surrender my will to him, and I had never done that to another human being before. The only one I'd ever surrendered
Starting point is 00:08:00 my will to was Jesus, and so I went before the Lord and I said, Lord, this man actually expects me to surrender my will to him. Surely this can't be you. You wouldn't ask me to do that. And the Lord said to me, remember, I said, I called you to be a father. And I said, yeah. He said, well, before you can be a father, you have to be a son. And so that's kind of where it began. And it's been a trail bringing me to a place where it's not just something that I know I'm called to. It's something that flows out of my heart and out of my identity. And during 2020, and I'm skipping a whole lot of story in between.
Starting point is 00:08:40 But during 2020, the Lord put us in a different place than most of the churches around us. And he said, this will become known as a special forces training camp. And so we have become that. We launched a ministry school in 2020 called FISH, Freedom International School of Harvest. And warriors begin to gather from around northern Ohio. And people come that are charged with courage and faith. They become kingdom warriors, and we're busy taking them to the nations. So what is a kingdom warrior? What does that look like to you?
Starting point is 00:09:22 What does a kingdom warrior mean? Well, a kingdom warrior is someone who has found their faith, has found their identity, has found their gifting. They have found the gifts of the Spirit that function in their life, but they're not showcased. They're the tools of our trade. They're the weapons of our warfare, and they're to equip us to go to the front lines wherever that is. For some people, that may be in your own community, in your workplace. For some people, it may be in a regional city or cities. For some of our people, it means going to other nations where God has called us and engaging with the powers of darkness. And one of our primary
Starting point is 00:10:03 assignments in the nations is to empower leaders and to raise leaders together. And the other strong calling that's on our life is to bring unity to the body of Christ. And so we actually collaborate with leaders across denominational lines, across ministry networks, and we help them to understand that we're all part of one kingdom. And the stakes are too high for us to be divided by denominational walls and barriers, because we are one body, and Jesus is coming back for one glorious bride, not for a harem. So that's part of what we do, is we help people relate relationally, and connect relationally, and build a network in relationships.
Starting point is 00:10:46 And we believe that that network will become a net for the harvest as people become a part of that. Amen. So basically you are raising people up to represent Jesus in all ways, whatever it is they are being called to do for the kingdom of God. Is that accurate? Yes. always, whatever it is they are being called to do for the kingdom of God. Is that accurate? Yes, we want that. I tell people, you know, the most powerful version of you is the authentic version. Don't try to be like somebody else. Let the Lord make you the most powerful version of
Starting point is 00:11:17 yourself that you can be. Let's discover who that is. Let's discover how the giftings that God has put in you are expressed uniquely through your personality, your life experiences, your ethnicity, and all of those things make you a unique individual. And that's actually what makes you powerful is by you being the unique expression of Christ that he created you to be. So you are not training people to look like Uri Hershberger? I certainly hope not. You know, I think, I believe this is the Lord, because we didn't even know we were going to talk about this. And there was a big part of the message that I preached on Sunday and talking about leaders, because sometimes I think that we
Starting point is 00:11:53 believe when we come into a place and they say that they're raising leaders, that that means that they are being, you know, raised to go be on a stage or to have a following or to have a platform. And I think that that's something that we've really missed a lot in the body of Christ. And I believe that you're going to agree with that. I think that you would maybe explain that in a much better way than even I could. So can you maybe talk about that, our desire to be on a stage and why maybe we've missed that a little bit? Less than 10% of people in the body of Christ are called to pulpit ministry.
Starting point is 00:12:31 It's never going to happen for most people. They're not equipped for it. For me, you know, I was. Before I met the Lord, by the way, I was a drug addict. I was raised in an Amish home. But my religion didn't have answers for me, and I became a drug addict. I was raised in an Amish home, but my religion didn't have answers for me, and I became a drug addict. I had a nine-year drug addiction, and when I came to Jesus, he set me free. And before that, the greatest fear of my life was to get up and talk in front of people. After Jesus came into my life, not only did that fear leave, but I knew this was something I had to do.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Oh, so good. So, but most people are not called to that. For most people, your front lines are actually begins in your workplace. That's where you will spend most of your time. That's where your platform is. That's where God wants to use you. That's where the Lord wants to raise you up as the cream of the crop. Just like, you know, I was raised on a farm, and so I think in agricultural terms, and on the farm, on a dairy farm, no matter what size the container, the cream always rises to the top, you know, and that should be the believers. They should rise to the top in every workplace, in every culture, in every family, in every neighborhood, just like Joseph did. He rose to the top, Just like Joseph did, he rose to the top.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Just like Daniel did, he rose to the top because the favor of God was on him. And because he lived his life to please the Lord, and so he rose to the top in the culture because he recognized that his calling went beyond man. It went to the Lord himself. And so when we're serving the Lord, his favor comes on our life. Yeah, that's really good. And so, you know, when I also think leader in the body of Christ, I also think of the intercessors, the evangelists. I mean,
Starting point is 00:14:14 those are really the front line people, right? They are. The evangelists are, the missionaries are, often the worship leaders are. Do you consider them to be leaders in the body of Christ, if that's your call? I do. They're the tip of the spear, for sure, because they're penetrating the powers of darkness that we have to invade in order to fulfill our assignment. All right. So this is good because you are a man that I remember the first time I met you and you're like one of those guys, you have the heart of the father. You're very gentle, but like, I know that in the spirit, like you are not a man to be messed with. And you know, you, you have a, an intensity about you that I can really appreciate
Starting point is 00:14:59 it. I see it on you right now. You're like, what's he going to ask me? But the intercessor intercession is so important. We met an intercession conference. I now. You're like, what's he going to ask me? But the intercessor, intercession is so important. We met in an intercession conference. I don't know if like in just even a basic, simple level, because there's a lot of people that will watch this that have no idea what real intercessory prayer is. When we're talking about interceding for a nation or region or whatever that may be, can you just talk about intercession prayer a little bit and what that looks like? There's different levels of prayer, and people are called to different aspects of prayer. All of us are called to be prayer warriors. All of us are called to pray.
Starting point is 00:15:37 But some people have a specific call in different realms of prayer. Paul said in Ephesians 6 that we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. And so in every realm, in every sphere, in every area, in every ethnicity, in many different ways that the world is divided into different groups, there are principalities and powers of darkness that rule over those people groups. And the Lord has given us tools in which we can combat them and overcome them and change the atmosphere over a family group, over an ethnicity, over a region, over a city, over a nation. And that's what Paul was talking about when he said,
Starting point is 00:16:28 we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. And so I would not encourage any young believer to go out and think that they can tangle with the principality or power. Thank you for saying that. That would be foolish. They would chew you up and spit you out, so to speak. Yes, the sons of Sceva are real, right? But Paul was speaking as an apostle when he said that.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And so there's an apostolic call, there's a prophetic call, and there's a call to the ecclesia, the corporate body of Christ, to come together and to combat principalities and powers over a region. And that happens to us and we go to south america when we go into different regions we because of who we are and how god has wired us there's kingdoms that come into conflict and they face off and i've had to deal with witchcraft spirits shamanism spirits uh that that have attacked me because i came yes and they and they know and they know who i am and so I've had to overcome them and understand how they attack me back and, and how, what I have to do to overcome them there.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I was raised in a culture that where witchcraft was not unusual. And in some of the older Amish cultures, you know, witchcraft is not, is not unusual. And that was a part of the culture that I grew up in. And so I felt like I'd been in a war zone most of my life, one way or another. And I had to fight my way out of that. And Jesus has helped me to understand the powers that I've been fighting against and how to get free from those things. And then, of course, he assigns you to help other people get free. Now, that's so good.
Starting point is 00:18:01 And so your own personal battle is part of your training. So when I was set free, I mean, you know, it's like I knew that there was evil in the world, but until I was instantly radically delivered and demons came flying out of my body, I had no idea of the spiritual battle and how real that was. But I learned, I mean, the Lord at that moment is when he really started teaching me about the spiritual battle and how real that was. And the Holy Spirit became my teacher. And John 14 tells us the Holy Spirit will teach us all things. And that's great, you know, to have mentors and people in your life and to read scripture. But how, I believe that
Starting point is 00:18:36 you're one of those guys, it seems like the Holy Spirit has taught you an awful lot directly himself, right? He has taught me a lot. So how did the Holy Spirit start teaching you about the battle and how real it was and how to operate in that? Can you touch on that at all? Well, I can tell you kind of how it began. I was about two, two and a half years old in the Lord, we'd just come out of a religious group that was pretty oppressive, and we were really hurting bad. We were rejected and betrayed, and we just really felt like everything was against us. And I bumped into a pastor who's, God put a compassion in his heart for me. And he said, I'd like to invite you to our church. We're going to have prophetic ministry in our church. And I think that would be very encouraging for you. And so I'm like, okay.
Starting point is 00:19:37 So I went to this prophetic gathering. There's four very powerful prophetic voices there from different parts of the country, and nobody there knew me except for this pastor and a couple of other people from the area. And so he invited me to come for them to minister to. And if I were to sum up the tone of their ministry over me that night, the Lord was saying, look, son, you're in the middle of a battlefield. You have two choices. You can lay down and die, or you can get up and fight. The choice is yours.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And so I kind of felt sorry for myself for a day or two, and then I decided, okay, I might as well get up and fight. I've been fighting ever since. So it begins with a resolve in our own heart that the enemy is not going to plunder me anymore and and one of the one at a time when i was going through a particularly tough battle a few years later the lord spoke to me and he said in most situations in life the best defense is a good offense and so i said that sounds like really good advice and i've been taking that advice to heart because you know what? It's good that you said that because we're always on the defensive from the enemy.
Starting point is 00:20:47 It's like we're reacting. We should not be reacting to the enemy, right? When he tries to back me into a corner, I come out swinging. I take ground instead. So when someone says, well, Uri, the battle's already been won on the cross, what do you say to that? I say to that that Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father waiting for his enemies to become his footstool. Well, guess who he's waiting on?
Starting point is 00:21:14 He's waiting for us to enforce the battle, the victory that he already won. And so that doesn't mean that we get to sit back with him and watch it happen. That means that we now have all that we need to put into action to defeat the one that Jesus legally defeated on the cross. Yeah, that's really good. And I always like to say it's like we're waiting on God, but the reality is God is waiting on us, correct? That's right. Because Jesus, through his death and resurrection, has given us all the tools we need to completely defeat him. So he's the head, we're the body.
Starting point is 00:21:46 We can't just depend on the head to do everything that we're supposed to do. Holy Spirit was given to us as our helper, not as the doer. So we don't get to sit back and watch him do the work for us. We get to co-labor with him, and he empowers us, and he helps us. So kind of on those lines, I don't know if this is accurate. I'm going to try to be gentle when I say it, but if 90%, 95% of people in the body of Christ who identify as Christian never actually lead someone to the Lord. What does that say? I'm not going to say they don't have faith, but I'm going to say their faith is passive. And I don't see any place in Scripture that
Starting point is 00:22:37 honors passive faith. It's only active faith that produces fruit. Is it because we don't know? Is it, forgive us, Father, we don't know what we do? Or is it that we've just made it about ourselves, and we're saved, and we're going to heaven, and we don't need to do that? Well, there's a number of things, I believe, that tie into it. But one of them is just a misunderstanding about faith. First of all, faith is not a feeling. Secondly, faith is an action word. it's it's not something that's ever passive it's always active and so as i step out and what i know to be right what i know to be truth uh that is me putting my faith into action and that's what brings results and passive christians are defeated christians i'm just going to say it that way because it's the truth. Silent Christians are defeated Christians.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Thank you. And I'm not speaking to people who are mute and can't speak. I'm talking about Christians who can speak and have a voice. When you are silent, you're allowing the enemy to keep you in a place of defeat. We are called to testify. And I'm not saying, I think some people think, well, that's not my gift or I'm not an evangelist. I'm not talking about being an evangelist. I'm talking about being a mouthpiece testifying for the kingdom of God. We are called to do that. It doesn't mean that you're an evangelist because you tell people about Jesus Christ, right?
Starting point is 00:23:59 No, there is a calling of an evangelist, but we're all encouraged to do the work of an evangelist. So whether you're called as an evangelist or not, all of us should be soul winners. All of us should be ready to share our faith. All of us should be ready to testify to somebody else of what Jesus has done. Our ministry began before we even knew it, because we would share testimonies with our friends about what God was doing in our life. And they'd say, well, we want that too. Well, okay, All right. We'll pray for you. And God will do it for you too. If he did it for us, he'll do it for you. And so we were ministering to people, leading them to Christ, casting demons out of them, releasing healing to them before we even
Starting point is 00:24:38 knew what we were doing, just because we were sharing what God was doing with us. And that's really what ministry is. So obviously, I know we're not saved by our works. We're saved by grace through faith. But the Bible also says that faith without works is dead. So is it safe to say that what we do here matters? It absolutely matters. It matters a lot. I mean, I'm not going to question anyone's salvation, but I'm going to say it this way. If you operate in real love, then you won't want to see your loved ones going to hell and you not share your faith with them. You're right. You're right, my brother. Well, this is good. This is good. We got on the phone and you had a super busy weekend. You had a conference
Starting point is 00:25:23 at your church. I was preaching. I had work events. I had my son's birthday on Friday. So we're both busy men, and we said, all right, we're just going to get on here. We're going to let the Spirit lead, and I believe the Spirit's leading. So thank you, Lord. So I want to hear more because you have, again, you have this amazing, you know, you're not a title guy, but I thought I was the first one to say it, but apparently not. The Amish apostle, you have a fascinating testimony.
Starting point is 00:25:47 You touched on it a little bit, but the Amish apostle, like how did that come about? You know, you said that you were addicted to drugs. How did the Lord set you free and a little bit about that journey? So in the end of 1985, I was married, had two little kids, and I'd been a drug addict for nine years. We had left the Amish church six months after we got married, and I was just lost. I lived a double life. I would be out partying and doing drugs with my friends half the night and come home and tell my wife some lie, and she believed it. She believed them all.
Starting point is 00:26:30 She never had a clue. She was just naive. And I was a pretty highly functional addict, but I was an addict. And so in January of 1986, we almost went to church, because if you're raised Amish, you know you've got to go to church. So we almost went to church. So in January of 1986, we went to a church service, and they had this spirit-filled evangelist, Mennonite evangelist,
Starting point is 00:27:00 come in and share his testimony that night. And when he described his life i thought he was describing mine wow and it gripped my heart it's the first time i ever remember a gospel message reaching my heart and it was so it gripped my heart to such a degree and and i wanted to talk to the guy but as soon as he gave an altar call the altar was full of people and i wasn't going to wait around for hours to talk to this guy. And so we went home, but something had gotten inside of me. And when I got to the house that night, I was, I was feeling something shifting inside of me. And I don't even know, I don't even remember that I knew what a sinner's prayer was, but in my heart, I said, Lord, I don't know what you want
Starting point is 00:27:42 with me or why you won't leave me alone, but I've run as far as I'm going to run. And in my heart, I surrendered to Jesus. And as soon as I did, I felt like I was dying. And I didn't know what to make of it. And finally, it felt so bad, I said, honey, I'm going to bed. And I didn't know if I was going to wake up the next morning because I knew that I was dying. And the next morning I woke up to a new world. And my addictions were gone. It seemed like the sun was brighter and the whole world was brighter. And it was a new day. I'd never
Starting point is 00:28:16 had a desire to touch drugs again in my life. I was instantly delivered of cigarettes, no withdrawals. For three weeks, I would gag if I came around to anybody that smoked. And so that was the beginning. But I had been on drugs long enough that I was a burnout. My short-term memory was gone. And so I'd be somewhere and forget where I was or be talking to you and forget what I was saying in the middle of a sentence. And so one morning, a couple months later, I woke up and my appetite was gone. And I said, honey, I think the Lord wants me to fast. So I figured,
Starting point is 00:28:51 well, I'll drink a cup of coffee. And so I took a swallow of coffee and threw it right back up again. I said, wow, I don't think he wants me to drink coffee. So I said, is it okay if I drink water, Lord? So I drank water. Thankfully, he said yes. So for 10 days, I drank water. And the thought or smell of food was disgusting to me. And on the third day, the power of God came down on my head. And my head began vibrating like it was radiation going on in my head. And that lasted from the third day through the 10th day. And I didn't know what was going on. And I finally told my wife, the Lord's doing something in my head. She said, what? I said, yeah, it feels like radiation or something going on in my head. She
Starting point is 00:29:35 says, go on. So she reached out and touched my head and yanked her hand back. As soon as she touched my head, I said, what? She said, my hand got numb when I touched your head. And I said, that is really bizarre. And I had no clue what was going on after the 10th day my appetite came back and I started eating and it lifted and then one day I realized my mind was back wow the Lord had restored the the brain that I had destroyed through drug abuse so that my memory was just as sharp and clear as it ever was and And I'm so grateful. And I've never had a desire to put drugs in my body again that distort the sound mind that God restored for me. That's so good. And you know, that's, I know that's the Lord because it's amazing when
Starting point is 00:30:17 I hear that it brings me back. I mean, that's essentially it's unique, but it's what he did for me in the sense of I had 20 years of smoking pot, 20 years of drinking alcohol and pornography. I never had a desire to touch those things again after that night. It just takes it from you. Like you said, you just thinking about it made you want to vomit. Yep. And Psalm 103 says he satisfies your mouth with good things. And boy, he did. Wow. Yeah. That's, that's amazing. Thank you for sharing that. So yeah, you've been walking with the Lord for a long time. And clearly, the other thing I see or hear when you talk about that is the power of fasting. It's like,
Starting point is 00:30:55 we always want to fast, but if we're fasting religiously and it's not being led by the Holy Spirit, it's going to look a lot different than if you're being prompted by the Holy Spirit to fast. Is that correct? For me, there's always been a grace to do whatever he asked me to do. And so when he asked me to fast, there was a time when my mother was dying of cancer. My youngest daughter was in full rebellion. And the Lord told me that if I would do what Esther did, that he would set her free. And so I went to see what Esther did. Well, Esther fasted food and water for three days. And so I said, okay, I'll do it. And for three days, I honestly did not get hungry or thirsty.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Because there was grace there to do what God had asked me to do. My tongue got thick by the third day. Wow. obedient to do what he'd asked me to do. And that day I went to visit my mom. And that day, my pastor that I was serving at the time went with me. And without me even realizing, he was in the other room with my mom on her deathbed, leading her in a prayer of renouncing the witchcraft in her life, which she'd never been willing to do before. And she had an encounter with the Lord just before she died. My daughter was set free, loves the Lord to this day. But God empowered that through a three-day ester fast. No food, no water,
Starting point is 00:32:32 living my life in the presence of the Lord. And if you're doing that three days, no food or water, not being led by the Holy Spirit, that can kill you, right? Well, you're going to act like, you're going to feel like you're dying anyway, probably if you're not. Yeah, I think you're going to act like you're going to feel like you're dying anyway probably if you're not uh yeah i think i think there's grace for us to do go beyond physical limits for sure when it's empowered by the holy spirit that's been my experience i remember one time i heard dan
Starting point is 00:32:57 say that he went three months with running five miles a day only having a glass of water and a sandwich for lunch for three months. And if that wasn't being led by the Lord, like he would have died. That's humanly impossible. But again, it's being led. You were led by the Lord to do that. It's important to let people know, right? That's right. So the one thing that you said I want to talk about, you said,
Starting point is 00:33:23 I want to talk about the ways of God. So that's a very broad topic that you can get into. So why don't you talk to us some more? You're already talking about the ways of God, but just more about the ways of God. So there's a mindset that I believe the Lord wants to give us to where we not only see the amazing thing that God's doing, but we understand how those things work. We understand the ways of God. The children of Israel saw the acts of God, the mighty acts of God. Moses knew the ways of God. And I have a hunger in my heart to know the ways of God. So whatever I'm going through, I'm asking questions. How does this work? Lord, show me the dynamics surrounding this. Show me what I'm operating in that causes
Starting point is 00:34:10 these things to happen. Our friend John Martin says the questions are portals, which I love that. Yeah. You know, the questions are opportunities for God to give us answers that he really wants to give us, but he hides the answers until we start asking the questions, right for God to give us answers that he really wants to give us, but he hides the answers until we start asking the questions, right? And so when the children of Israel came out of Egypt, you know, they didn't have time to put a committee together and figure out how to do everything and take a vote, you know, and build an organization. They didn't have time to do any of that.
Starting point is 00:34:46 The Lord instructed them as they went. And because they received instruction as they went, they did things so right on cue with the Lord. They developed processes and things that they honor to this day because they didn't have time to reason it out. They were in a fight for their life, a fight for survival. It was the Passover lamb that saved their life. It was eating the lamb that gave them strength to leave, you know, and it was obedience to get the leaven out of their house, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:22 for the first few days as they were leaving Egypt, and it was the obedience to part the waters at the Red Sea, all those things, the mighty signs and wonders that God did, they didn't have time to process any of that. They just had time to obey. And when I look back at our journey, all we did was obey as we went. In fact, I think I'm supposed to write a book called As We Went that talks about all the things that the Lord taught us as we went. We didn't learn them by reading anybody's books except for the Word of God. We didn't learn them by understanding the principles and the five steps or whatever. We learned them because the Lord instructed us as we went.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And the things that he taught us as we went are so foundational and so powerful that we honor those things to this day, just like the Jewish people honor those things that God taught them as they went to this day. That's really good. It reminds me of what I've been literally in the last week, similar in the natural to what I've been teaching my son about athletics, because he's a soccer and a basketball player. And sometimes I'll watch him on the field or the court and I can see that he's thinking and then he's reacting. I said, sometimes in sports, son, I said, you can't think and then react. You have to react as you're thinking. So it's almost like that with God. Like don't sit back and just think about it. Like you just have to go when you hear his voice and just trust that he's going to lead you to that promised land, right?
Starting point is 00:36:47 That's right. And we're created for the promised land. We're not created for the wilderness. I know a lot of people have gotten comfortable in the wilderness and are teaching things like, well, the process is the destination. No, it's actually not. There is a destination beyond the process of getting there. And it's a place where everything that we're wired for we're able to begin to inherit and you know when they crossed over the jordan there was a whole new level of obedience that was required
Starting point is 00:37:15 where they no longer were on god's welfare program of just gathering up bread in the morning you know what i'm saying and drinking water that came out of the rock. Now they were in a place where they had to learn how to sow and reap. And before they could do that, before they could begin to inherit the land, the Lord brought them to a place called Gilgal. And at Gilgal, the Lord did something that's so counterintuitive to raising up a powerful army. He circumcised the whole army of Israel. And it says that day he rolled the reproach of Egypt off of them.
Starting point is 00:37:49 And I believe the reproach of Egypt was the orphan mindset. The orphan or slave mindset that they left Egypt with was rolled off of them that day, and they began to see themselves as sons and daughters with an inheritance, because slaves don't have an inheritance. That's so good. Only sons and daughters have an inheritance. And so they had to cross over and enter into this thing called circumcision, to where it then represents a circumcised heart. Now, that's the mark of the new covenant, is a circumcised heart, a heart that's had flesh broken off of it, cut away from it, so that we can operate out of a pure heart, a new heart. So good.
Starting point is 00:38:27 And sons and daughters. So, you know, what you're talking about, I see it and I know you do probably everywhere you go, is we don't see ourselves the way God sees us now. So how do you... Right. I mean, this could be a long topic, you know, conversation, but how do you start to see yourself the way God sees you? Well, we've got to learn to change our vocabulary, for one thing. I mean, it's not just all about our words, but that helps when we stop referring to ourselves as sinners, saved by grace. You know,
Starting point is 00:38:57 we went through a change of identity when we came into Christ, and we're no longer, the Bible never calls us sinners after that, that calls us the saints of god and and and so once we see ourselves as saints that doesn't mean we're we do everything perfectly what it means is we've gone through a change of identity we are now sons and daughters of god we have an inheritance in his kingdom and and and we have a destiny to fulfill and the destiny is not to uh hopefully get to heaven as soon as possible possible so that we can get our inheritance there. There's an inheritance here. And in Romans 8, it says that we are heirs of God, joint heirs with Christ.
Starting point is 00:39:37 Right? And so that means Jesus shares his inheritance with us. Well, in Psalms 2, it tells us what Jesus' inheritance is, because the Father says to the Son, ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance. And so Jesus' inheritance is nations. That means our inheritance is nations. So if we sit back and wait for our inheritance in heaven, we're missing out, because God's given us an inheritance here, and that is the nations that we're called to impact with the power of the gospel. Because when we do that, we're actually helping Jesus get his inheritance from the Father, and he shares his inheritance with us.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Right? So in 1 Corinthians 15, it tells us that the last enemy to be overcome is death. Right? So death is an enemy. Death is not a friend. it tells us that the last enemy to be overcome is death, right? So death is an enemy. Death is not a friend. Death is not your door to heaven. That's so good. Jesus is the door, not death.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Yes, thank you. And so we've got to call things enemies that God calls enemies. Death is not my friend. Death is my enemy, and we are eventually going to totally defeat death. That's the last enemy that will be overcome. Just as Jesus overcame death, we're going to overcome death. But we're not going to overcome death if we make it our friend. And so we teach people that Jesus is the doorway to heaven, and we have an inheritance with the Father. The Bible says that Jesus, in Romans 8 again, that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, right? The only begotten of the Father.
Starting point is 00:41:15 But in Romans 8 it says that he's the firstborn of many brethren. And so we, you know, when I hear people want to restore us back to what Adam was in the beginning, that's not true. We're so far beyond Adam. Adam was only a created being with the breath of God blown into him. Jesus was the first one born of God. Jesus was born when he rose out of the grave. He was born. There was a new species that came into being that day that carries the DNA of God within.
Starting point is 00:41:49 And he's the firstborn of many brethren. And so if Christ is in us, the DNA of God himself is in us. Listen, Jesus isn't going to marry down. Yeah, that's good. And that's humbling to me because I you know i am definitely one that has said that you know he he restored us back to you know who who we were before adam ate the tree but you know it's good that you're saying that uh yeah jesus jesus is uh uh is the only begotten of the father uh the only the first son that was actually born of God, not created by, just created by God.
Starting point is 00:42:26 And he's the firstborn of many brethren. That means his DNA is in us. So that we should be able to say, like Jesus said, if you've seen me, you've seen the father. You know why? Because the father's DNA is in me. If I'm born of God, then that means I'm of a sin, right? I'm not trying to elevate myself to the status of Jesus. That's not what I'm trying to do at all.
Starting point is 00:42:47 But what I'm saying is we need to recognize the one who lives within us and the DNA of God that is in us. And that, you know, Scripture says in 1 John that, beloved, now we're with the children of God. It has not yet appeared what we shall be, but we know that when he appears, we will be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And so when we see Jesus, we become like him because we become what we behold, right? And so as we become more and more like him, more and more of his nature is in us and is revealed through us.
Starting point is 00:43:21 And so I can't find anywhere in scripture where the Lord validates a crossing of species. In fact, he forbids it. Yeah, this is good. Go ahead. Jesus isn't just coming to marry a human bride that is less than him. He's coming to marry a bride that looks like him. Amen. Yeah, that's really good. Lots of great teaching, lots of great wisdom and revelation. Thank you guys for watching and listening. Please share this. People need to hear this everywhere.
Starting point is 00:43:54 I mean, this is one of those shows I'm going to have to go back and watch multiple times because this is really good. And, I mean, I'm asking these questions, and it's just the heart, the revelation of God is coming out of you. So I appreciate it. And if you guys have questions, look, tell us where you're watching, where you're listening from. If you have questions for Yuri, we have about 20 minutes left. So I would like to ask him a couple of questions that our viewers have on the show today.
Starting point is 00:44:17 So if you have a question for Yuri, please ask it, guys. Please ask it. Because I think that he will be willing to answer and it will be revelatory. So heart of the father, I've seen you minister. And I know that the first thing that John Martin said when he saw that you were coming on the show, he said, you have the heart of the father. And one of the ways that we can see ourselves the way that he sees us is to know his heart. So many of us, we love him, we believe in him, but we don't actually know him. So the heart of the father, what that looks like and the importance for that heart of the father to come out through us. What can you share on that? Well, like the Lord told me a few years ago, you can't be a father until you've been a son and and uh you know the lord uh scripture says that
Starting point is 00:45:08 you don't have many fathers you might have 10 000 instructors but you don't have many fathers so what when when we're open to that level of relationship in our life we need to pray to the lord i'm ready for a relationship with a spiritual father who has your heart, who will love me the way that you love me, who will correct me when I need to be corrected, who will pour into me what needs to be poured into me. And here's the thing. I can promise you whoever that is will not be perfect.
Starting point is 00:45:38 That's part of our humility. That's part where we need to find grace, because we didn't submit to our natural fathers because they were perfect we submitted to them because they were dead right do you believe that part of the responsibility of let's call it a spiritual father is to lead us to the father to become the one for us in all ways absolutely that should be and if it's not you know that's the Lord's heart in the relationship, at least. Well, I think this is something I taught about on Sunday. I'd never really heard anybody teach on it before, but it was something the Lord convicted on my heart,
Starting point is 00:46:13 because sometimes we look to these spiritual mothers and fathers and we treat them like they're God. I mean, we come to them for every little problem, everything that's ever wrong in our life, but I don't really think that's what the Lord wants us to do, does he? No. And even when I teach, I try not to ever teach every detail of anything. I try to teach a broad concept and leave many details for people to fill in, in their own study in Scripture, in their own relationship with God, and that should be the heart of a father, not to teach their children everything that heart of a father, not to teach their children everything that they need to learn, but to teach them how to learn, to teach them how to hear the voice of God, to teach them that, you know, I'm going to be here in your life for a
Starting point is 00:46:55 certain period of time, and then I'm going to go on, and I'm not going to be here anymore. But you know what? Father God will be here at that time. I remember in 2004, you know, we planted our church in 2004. The Lord gave me the date in January. He said, I want you to plant a church out in the middle of Amish country like I've asked you to. And I said, OK. I said, when are we supposed to start? And he said, July 4th. So that's when we started our church was July 4th. It was a Sunday. And I said, Lord, I'll do that. But the only thing that bothers me about that is my dad's pretty well known in the old order Amish community. And I know that, you know, people from the Amish community start getting saved. And, you know, the religious grapevine goes, you know, haywire and things get back to my dad. And I said, I just hate to think about those kind of things damaging my relationship with my dad again,
Starting point is 00:47:49 because the Lord has supernaturally restored it. And so, but we launched on July 4th. And two weeks later, my dad got up one morning and went out and sat in his chair and put his head back and went home to be with the Lord. And so about a year later, I suppose it was, something had happened. I phoned to call my dad and I remembered again, he wasn't there. I couldn't do it. We come close. And I said, Lord, I need a dad. And the Lord said, you know, I'd like to take his place if you'll let me. Oh, that's so good. I said, Lord, how can someone that I can't see take the place of a dad that I could see?
Starting point is 00:48:33 But I have to say, he has become that for me. He's become my father. He's become everything that I need. And he's the one who's always looking over my shoulder now, giving me the sense that I'm always being watched out for, just like my dad. Well, I was not planning to talk about this today and neither were you. And gosh, it's so beautiful because the Lord is just confirming my message from Sunday, part of my message. And a similar thing with my earthly father, he's still alive, but he has what the world would call Parkinson's disease. And, you know, when he first got diagnosed with that, that was before I was a kingdom man.
Starting point is 00:49:09 I was a believer, but, I mean, he was my rock for everything. And, you know, I thought that if he was gone, like, I wouldn't make it, you know. And a couple years back, my dad told me, he's like, you know, it, it, it brings me great relief in a sense that I know that like, when I go now, you're going to be okay. Because he now knows that God is my one, like he is truly my father. And, you know, a couple, a couple of times, like Sean Hurley, who was the man who prayed for me when I was delivered, he was, um, you know, I used to tell people he was my spiritual father. And one day the Lord was like, Sean's not your spiritual father. I am. And it's great to have mentors, Sean's not your spiritual father, I am.
Starting point is 00:49:46 And it's great to have mentors and let's call them fathers in our life, but he is the ultimate source, right? He's our daddy. So it's so good that you say that. There is a role. Paul did say, you don't have many fathers. So there are fathers, but they don't carry a title
Starting point is 00:50:01 that we should give them. Because Jesus said, don't call any earthly man father. So it's not a title that we should give them like because jesus said don't call any earthly man father so it's not a title that we need to do it's a role that we need to recognize that brings into our life amen well we're right out of time i knew time would fly we have maybe 10 minutes left so there are a couple things i want to ask you and i know that you are a world traveler the lord has taken you all over the world i want to ask you really quickly if you can answer it. I don't know if you can answer this question quickly, but you talked about at the beginning of the show how, you know, when you first really started walking with the Lord,
Starting point is 00:50:32 you had some events and some things and the Lord kind of got you off of that, right? When you started having meetings and people were coming to the meetings. Oh yeah, yes. So why do you think he went back then and had you start a church? I had served two other pastors as their associates for 13 years. My whole life has been like a prophetic journey. And it reminded me of Jacob, who served Laban for 14 years when he was only supposed to serve him for seven. And it was like before I could come into my inheritance, I had to serve two pastors for two periods of time. And then the Lord saw that I had developed to the point where he could entrust me with something
Starting point is 00:51:25 but my education wasn't over, my education is ongoing you know because the Lord now takes me to places and mentors me and teaches me he's always teaching me you know my education didn't come from a seminary
Starting point is 00:51:41 and I got my diploma and put it on the wall and now I got it all, it didn't work that way. It's an ongoing education of walking with him. Holy Spirit University, right? Yes. And so we've planted a church. We've planted a number of churches out of our church. We have played a role in gathering and bringing fellowship between churches in our region and doing events together. And we're doing that in other nations now. And so with everything that God does when we're faithful, he brings us increase. You know, that's how the kingdom works. So is it accurate to say that God does not trust all of us?
Starting point is 00:52:31 Well, actually, yeah. God doesn't trust everybody. Right. Well, I heard you say that he trusted you to start the church at that point. So, I mean, I just... Well, first of all, I had a calling. If you don't have the calling that he's not going to entrust something to you that you're not called to so I had a calling I did the best that I could to be faithful to that call uh many years many times through the years when I was being tested
Starting point is 00:52:58 and trained and and mentored uh I would I would be tested with a salary with making a bunch of money uh you know why don't you forget about uh this ministry thing that you're called to where you're struggling just to make ends meet and go take this job where you can make a lot of money because i had the ability to do that and i would hear the lord say it's only a bowl of soup. Don't sell out your birthright for a bowl of soup. That's a word from me. And so, you know, by the grace of God, I was faithful to that. You know, even though I'm sure I made many mistakes along the way, I never sold out for money along the way.
Starting point is 00:53:41 You know, I was faithful to the call the best I could be. So good. So I want to hear, because you're a world traveler. You know, I was faithful to the call the best I could be. So good. So, um, I want to hear, because you're a world traveler, you know, the Lord's called you to literally sent you, led you to the nations. Um, you know, I think you believe you said Albania, uh, Peru, what other countries do you spend a lot of time in? Peru is my first, uh, missions country, really. I mean, I went, I went many years many years ago on short-term missions trips to Mexico, but Peru is the first one that I really began to take teams to. My wife and I have an apartment there in Iquitos, Peru, in the headwaters of the Amazon.
Starting point is 00:54:19 We now work also in Brazil. We have a team that just came back from Bolivia. We work in Bolivia. And we have full-time missionaries in Albania. And like I said, my wife and I will be going there in two weeks to work at networking leaders for a nationwide event, a conference of leaders that we want to begin to organize for next year. So now we can say the second part of the nickname Amish Apostle. Yeah. I mean, I heard something like that through a prophetic word years ago. I'm not big into titles. I know you're not. And then when I was down in Peru and they were honoring me as a
Starting point is 00:55:02 conference speaker, they gave each of us a coffee mug with a motto on it. Mine said, Amish Apostle to the Amazon or something like that. Nice. Love it. Don't put God in a box, and don't cut us in a box, right? That's right. I don't fit. So is it accurate, with your experience, when you go to these third-world countries and these places where there's lots of
Starting point is 00:55:25 poverty and um would you say i think of the way that i can say this but when it comes to signs wonders miracles do you see that that happens more freely let's say that that the lord moves uh more mightily and if so why uh well i believe it goes back to a man's gift makes room for him. When you're doing what God's called you to, that's when signs and wonders will begin to follow you. You know, I've experienced more signs and wonders following me probably in South America than I ever have at home, even though I've seen a lot of it here. But it's like when you're doing, and this is kind of an analogy the Lord gave me. You know, there was this man who needed his body to be healed, who'd been waiting many years by the pool of Bethesda. And every once in a while, an angel would go stir the waters and someone
Starting point is 00:56:22 would get healed. And the Lord just began to show me that that's a picture of the church today. It's like the pool of Bethesda. Every once in a while, an angel stirs the water and somebody gets healed. And whoever has the nicest, biggest pool draws the biggest crowd, right? But the church is not called to be a pool. It's called to be an Ezekiel 47 river that flows to the nations. And the further it flows, the deeper it gets, and the more powerful the anointing for healing that it brings to the nations where it goes. And many years ago, I felt the Lord told me that the light that shines farthest shines brightest at home. You'll never be able to fulfill your assignment at home unless you're faithful to my call on you to go to the nations.
Starting point is 00:57:03 And so I know that I'm called to the South American people, to the people of the Amazon. And I love them, and they love me, and God gives me favor, and he gives me influence with them. And so they are as close to me as my own family. We call them our Peruvian family. That's what I see the Lord doing with me with Costa Rica right now and those people
Starting point is 00:57:26 it's newer I'm about to go to our second trip but I believe that's part of it it's not just like a one time thing whatever people you're called to Jesus said the kingdom of God is like treasure hidden in a field which a man found
Starting point is 00:57:42 and hid and then he went and sold everything that he had so that he could buy that field. And every person is like that field. A lot of dirt, a lot of weeds of sin, a lot of rocks of offense, but deep inside of that field there's a treasure. And Jesus saw the treasure and was more excited about the treasure than he was discouraged about all the dirt and the weeds and the rocks. And he gave his life to redeem that field. And we need to be that, not only for the people, but for the cultures that we're sent to, because every culture has treasure within it. And those who can see it
Starting point is 00:58:25 can dig it out. If God shows you the treasure in a person, he'll give you the grace to dig out that treasure and not be offended by all the things that you have to work through as you're getting to the treasure. So good. Yeah, so good. So you don't know that I'm going to ask you this, but this will be my last question of the day. I always ask this at the end of the show. I know that I'm going to ask you this, but this will be my last question of the day. I always ask this at the end of the show. I know that you're a prophetic voice. You've spoken things over my life. So, you know, this is with specific intent that we're here in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. That's where the Lord called us to do this show. And so I ask you, do you have anything on your heart for the city of Charlottesville or for the White Mountain Ministry show in general? Well, I love Virginia. I lived in Virginia for seven years.
Starting point is 00:59:13 You know, Virginia, the state of Virginia has produced more presidents than any other state. Ohio is second on that list, and here I am ohio uh there's many uh powerful fathers of the nation that lived in virginia and and the charlottesville i believe is in the shenandoah valley is that right we'd like border the shenandoah valley essentially it's separated by the mountain it's a beautiful place uh and uh you know, Harrisonburg area of Virginia is above you. That's where EMU is, a lot of Mennonite history and foundations are. And I believe the Lord is breathing on the foundations of the nation right now and wanting to restore things that have been lost.
Starting point is 01:00:02 In Acts chapter 3, it says that heaven must receive Jesus until the time of restoration of all things. And I believe that those who are strong are actually a fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy when he says that in the time of the end, those who know their God will be strong and do exploits. And I see the Lord raising up powerful pioneers of faith again, just like he raised up fathers of the nation in the state of Virginia, in the place of Charlottesville, where several years ago there was a lot of controversy about a parade or something in Charlottesville. White supremacists, whatever, at the news media, went out of their way to make a lot of hay out of. But I believe Charlottesville is in the heart of
Starting point is 01:00:51 God. And there's something that the enemy targeted Charlottesville with, that God is going to turn around. And I believe that Charlottesville is going to become a shining beacon, a city on a hill, a model of redemption, not only for the state of Virginia, but for the nation. And so I want to bless those who live in Charlottesville and say, God is for you, not against you. And this is your time to rise and shine. Thank you. Yeah. So we're literally about one block from where that happened. That's where our studio is. That's where the Lord sent us. Wow. So that's really good. We obviously don't know that. So John Martin's sitting here calling me right now.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I don't know if he realizes that we're still on the show or not. I hope he doesn't have, maybe he has something he wants me to release, but I'll wait and answer that call.
