Green, the colour of true elation, pine on a summer's day, see I've been waiting for you, waiting for you.
Good day innies and outies and welcome to another episode of the Inns and Outs with myself Jojo Barr
and the very, very lovely and very famous Pollyanna Wilkinson.
On today's episode we're going to be talking about
skinny hallways, my major design decision finally made, paving versus gravel. Polly's going to let
you in on what to do about cat and fox poo. Polly is sharing with us a top secret that she's only
telling podcast listeners.
storytelling podcast listeners.
Hello big girl, how are you doing?
Less of the big.
What do you mean by that?
You're very tall.
Thanks.
And you're a very big girl.
I am a big old lass.
You look absolutely dazzling.
Look at your skin.
Do I?
Can I tell you, this entire face is Charlotte Tilbury. Can I tell you this entire face is Charlotte Tilbury.
You look amazing.
My whole face
is Charlotte Tilbury.
I got sent
the most delicious
goodie bag
by Charlotte Tilbury
and I'm honestly
jealous.
This lip colour
that I've got on
What have we got?
Which I've got here
is
I don't really wear
like sort of gloss
but it's called
Enchanting
Enchanted Kiss
Enchanting Kiss Enchanting Kiss Show me. And it's a sort of Is but it's it's called enchanting enchanted kiss enchanting kiss
enchanting kiss show me and it's a sort of it's a lip balm it's a lip glossy balm but it's i i i
lit i spend my life in lip gloss you know in um is it sticky because i can't stand like a gloss
like no and when it wears off when the shine wears, it leaves this lovely colour. I don't know. Can you see? It's really, honestly, I'm fully obsessed.
I mean, Charlotte Tilbury is hands down my favourite make-up in the world.
I adore, adore her.
This is not an advert, by the way, guys.
This is just Jojo being a fangirl and me admiring her face.
Everything I've got on my face, because I've got to send this goodie bag,
is Charlotte Tilbury.
Well, you're a lucky sausage.
Thank you, my love.
You've been pipped as one of the top 100 women in horticulture.
Is that right?
It is right, but I'm feeling very uncomfortable with the appraising attention.
It's going to keep on coming, my love.
It's going to keep coming.
Pal, you're absolutely smashing it.
You deserve every ounce of success.
You really do. You're gorgeous ounce of success. You really do.
You're gorgeous.
I am squirming here.
So I'm like, thank you.
Let's change this.
No, I'm, I'm thrilled.
The women on that list are women that I look up to and aspire to be when I'm a big girl.
And just, I just, to even be uttered in the same breath or list as those women is amazing.
So I'm sure they probably all think the same about you, Paul.
So I bet.
Yes.
Such a huge, huge congratulations, my love.
You deserve it.
Thank you.
That's enough praise.
Enough.
All right.
Let's knock it.
Let's knock you down a few pegs.
I don't know how we can possibly pull you down.
Yes.
Please remember me.
Anyway.
So what else has been happening in in Paul's world well so I have
been driving around the country for projects my god it's been so busy and it you know how rainy
it has been the last couple of weeks just happens to be a time when we have been setting out loads
of plants in our projects and this week I got absolutely drenched the whole team can the rain can it just fuck off
can it just fuck off already because I feel so sad I feel so sad for those little flowers out
there these little daffodils and they're just like they're built for it pal but I was thinking
of you as out there being like it was out outside mud and dirt and absolutely soaking
I sweat my yeah soak through when I was out there in the shitting rain at the end of last year I
think like Christmas Eve planting my bulbs and I was thinking about you too my love aren't I
grateful aren't you grateful now I can see them they're coming so yes it's been really busy we've
been doing loads of planting and we're working on,
do you know what, what's really lovely?
All of our projects at the moment are quite local,
which is quite unusual.
We're usually driving all over the shop.
So it's nice.
We've been working on that.
And then on the Renault side,
I'm deep in value engineering, which is miserable.
Sexy stuff, that value engineering.
What can you live without?
What don't you want? What can you live without? It's a good question. What do know what can you live without what don't you what can you live
without it's a good question what do you think you can live without well at this point i would
just like walls and some windows in it my god windows are so expensive they are but they're
one of the most important things you'll put in your house can't go without them can you just
have sort of go for the windows you love because i'm gonna i'm gonna push put it out here i'm gonna push it out here and say
i think windows could be the number one most important thing in your house i mean visually
you know to get right visually and in a lot of tick boxes actually because you look at them all
day every day and they've got to be
something you love and if you go with shitty windows that you you know have to sort of i don't
know you don't like the look of you don't like the style you don't like what they're made of you
don't like the color whatever it is got to get that right girl i know you're right so that's my
news tell me what have you been up to, dear one?
Oh, I wrote a really fun word down for you, Paul.
Tell me.
Oh, do you know what a dendrophile is?
Oh, don't tell me. Okay, let me guess. Dendra, dendra.
Dendrophile.
Dendrophile.
Dendrophile.
Is it someone that loves ferns? You don't know.
Let me tell you.
No, I don't know. Let me tell you. No, I don't know. A dendrophile is one who finds poetry in the forest's heart,
who feels a deep connection with the woods and a lover of trees.
I read that and I was like, I'm going to teach Paul that word.
So you're a dendrophile.
Dendrophile.
Is that with an A or an O?
D-E-N-D-R-A?
R-O and then P-H-I-L-E.
Dendrophile.
A soul captured by the whispers of leaves,
finding solace in the ancient stories etched in the bark.
That might be a very romantic way of saying it,
but I thought it was beautiful.
It touched me and I knew it would touch you too, my pal.
Anyway, so in my news,
I've got a whole newfound obsession and love for flowers at the moment, cut flowers in my house.
And I think once you get that bug for flowers, I can't stop buying myself tulips.
Oh, I love it.
Yeah.
I just love, oh my goodness, just love tulips all around my house at the moment.
I'm just so appreciating cut flowers.
And actually, I went to see a client yesterday and she was lovely.
So appreciating cut flowers.
And actually, I went to see a client yesterday and she was lovely.
And she said she doesn't ever have one of the rooms in her house that doesn't have cut flowers of some sort around her house, which is just lovely. God, that's chic.
I know, so chic.
Also a lot of work.
I mean, her house is beautiful.
I had another question for you actually, Paul.
I gave you some homework, didn't I?
And you said you were going to do it.
Well, you told me to get up at 6am every day.
I didn't do it.
I didn't do it.
Although, I understand you've been skiing again without me i did i snuck off actually
and you didn't get fucking invited this time because outrageous you brought the side down
last time although you i actually missed you i did you. I missed you in the drinking games.
And then I know you're going to ask me,
so I'm going to jump in there before you do.
Come on, tell me.
You know what I want to know.
I found myself a white China throne.
Tell me more.
Tell me more.
Tell me everything.
I'm actually not going to tell you more because I,
but it's a lovely, lovely toilet and I'm very, very happy with it.
And it's been ordered and it's on its way.
Well, I couldn't be happier for you.
And then actually, Jojo, whilst we remember,
isn't there quite an exciting launch that's just happened?
Oh, there is.
There is our buttered toast.
We've released our very own wood floor range with my very good friends, Chauncey's.
And I know we're not supposed to plug stuff on here but it is
so delicious this wood flooring is just delicious and these guys the just the ultimate they're I'm
so proud to be working with them because they're they're just great they're just such great guys
great team family-run business and the wood flooring is delicious and we've tried to get
it to a price point that it just works for everybody so quality engineered beautiful wood floorboards by house nine
how exciting i can't wait for them to be in my kitchen thanks oh one more bit of really good
news which i haven't told you yeah um is that we got one of those gigs i don't know about the other one yet but we are going to be designing again
at chelsea flower show hurrah how wonderful yes so hurrah we'll be at chelsea flower show again
this year so um we will be designing the stand for project giving back uh an incredible charity
one of the um just flower shows main charities and i would urge you to go and check out the
amazing work they do um but yes we're going to be designing their amazing stand this year and it's going to be
bigger and better so very very very very excited about that because that was one of the two that
I was talking about a couple of weeks ago that we were desperate to get in the bag so it's happened
oh I'm so happy you've got that project giving back mean a lot to me actually as well because
they are who funded my first Chelsea garden so So I have a place in my heart.
Actually, I've got garden news too.
Go on.
I have garden news.
It's a bit secret squirrel.
And this is only for podcast listeners because I'm not going to share it elsewhere for a good while.
I have had half the garden built.
Have you now?
I have.
I'm looking out on it now.
So I can't do anything near the house because it's
going to get trashed by the build but the studio garden is 50 done but it looks great gosh that's
so exciting paul how lovely yeah trees are in steel edging is in it's going to be lovely i just
really wanted somewhere for me and the team to be able to enjoy over the summer so nice that will be finished yeah how lovely how is mr big he is so well do you know what he's so tickled
people are starting to message him and ask him if he's mr big so there's been some instagram
sleuths oh everyone's gonna be on it now find him gosh um which has been hilarious actually that's such
good fun he's bloody loving it so i bet he is yeah he's all will be revealed in time all right
pal let's move on to some questions but first i just want to share with you there's gonna be a
new segment for us called game changes and this is going to be when our gorgeous innies and outies
tell us what they've learned and what they've done, what they've implemented in their house or garden from the podcast.
Oh, I like that.
Does that make sense?
Yeah.
So this week's game changer is from Lou.
And it's not a question, but a thank you to Jojo.
I have cleared my windowsills and wow.
Yes, girl.
Isn't it?
I'm telling you now.
I'm telling you now. I'm telling you now.
It's a game changer.
Get that shit.
Open that eye.
Get that shit off your windowsills.
It will transform.
Just literally go like into a bucket just elsewhere.
Honestly.
That is the game changer.
That's amazing.
Thanks so much for that.
I'm so pleased to know that occasionally my advice is of use thank you
occasionally so remember to send in your game changes going forward guys and we will read out
the best ones and also can you send in photos as well of like a before and after that would be
really fun because we could put that on our little instagram send in befores and afters and we're
just nosy yes and we're nosy yeah love it love it okay right
on to the questions on to the questions okay jojo i have an any question for you from lee
lee hi lee please may i have some advice on choosing an undermounted bath when you're
fitting an undermounted bath it's the i fitting an undermounted bath, it's the...
Oh, it's a fucking cat.
I'll tell you what.
Oh, Clarence, for God's sake.
No, it's actually Dolly now.
Oh, she wants out.
She wants out.
Hold on.
She wants out.
I'm sorry.
Release the cat.
Okay, I'm going to start from the beginning.
Okay, so a few things to consider with an undermounted bath.
Usually an undermounted bath is great if you have a space that a bath needs to slot into don't for god's
sake go with just a roll top bath because a roll top bath is great in an open plan space that you
can get around the bath to sort of clean and things oh i see yeah so an undermounted bath is
great slot it into place and then you get a bit like a worktop sits on the top and it looks lovely
and then you have a nice bath panel or something on
the front um a few things to consider make sure that the that you can always access the plumbing
so the panel on the front of an undermounted bath needs to be removable so that you can get to the
you can get to the workings of the underside of the bath because if something happened under the
bath say it flooded or you know pipe came loose you've got to be able to get access underneath
the bath so that's number one okay and should that panel be timber yes could be timber could be marble or
it just needs to have a hatch it needs to have a sort of something you can take off okay so
another thing is you need to weddy board underneath the floor underneath the bath it's got to be
waterproofed make sure you tank your bathroom if you're going to put an undermounted bath in which
you should do with most bathrooms anyway another bit of a design advice so usually with an undermounted bath as
i said you've got a piece of marble or quartz that sits on the top of the bath you've just got to
make sure that you've got enough marble front and side sort of front and sides without it looking
too mean otherwise the marble is going to have to come in two pieces and then it can because it
could obviously snap oh good tip so that's about it really i mean under mounted baths are great i
do them all the time i mean i've even got one up upstairs in my own bath i think they're they're
brilliant but i just think try and give yourself make sure you've got a bit of space around the
top that's my only main bit of advice you've got a good a generous ledge yes yeah they are and also
and actually if i can give a shout out to a bath company that I would recommend, it would be a Betty.
Betty Undermounted Baths are very good. It's a steel bath and it's great.
Betty, B-E-T-T-E.
I'll be looking that one up. Thank you so much.
Yeah, no worries.
Okay, Paul, my old gal. Victoria's asking, what do you do with old spent compost, the old sort?
Oh, I love this. I love this question because it's something is that dilemma isn't it
once you've finished with a pot and you've got like this knackered old compost you don't know
what to do with it oh my god i just i just grabbed the root i just i just slap it against like
do you do that you know i don't know god sorry i probably shouldn't do that
is that what you mean is that what she means no like you know you've got um you've had a sort of
pot it's full you've taken out the plants because you need to replace the compost yes i was literally thinking so you know like when your
lavender dies and you pull this sort of dead like thing out and it's attached yeah it usually comes
with the yeah yeah and then i just sort of give it a right good shake and slap it around in the
flower bed what do you then do with the well i mean that's one option but if you've got a big
old pot you've got loads and loads of old knackered compost you can't actually put that in the green waste bin
oh you're not allowed to do that no so i know mate so this is what you can do okay so if you
pour it all out get out all the bits of root and all the bits of plant that are left over and then
sort of mix it with your fingers so it's all fluffy then all you need to do is you can add in new compost or like well-rotted manure it's about sort of 60 70 old compost sort of 30 40 new
compost then you could just reuse it again that'd be perfect for a container so you could just reuse
essentially quite a lot of that yeah because obviously the old compost is not gonna have any
nutrients left in it but the new will uh you can also add it to your borders just to improve
structure generally so you can just put you know fluff it all up again don't just chuck in this
sort of solidified pot shaped lump of compost you know when it sort of molds to the side of the pot
you're going to fluff it all up get the roots out if you dig that in or just pour it on top of your
borders then that's going to help with soil structure if you've got a clay soil or a sandy
soil it's gonna it's not gonna have a load of nutrients in it but it's definitely going to help
with sort of aeration uh or you can use it as a mulch so you can put it around trees or shrubs
and that's going to help conserve moisture over the summer great and is it definitely you've got
to pull the roots and bits out why do we do that well yeah i mean as in not every single one but
you want it essentially you don't want loads of bits of old plant and roots and everything.
So you just sort of put it out on a sort of sheet and just pull out, you know, the big bits, chunky bits of root.
Gotcha.
And then reuse it.
Great.
Yeah.
Thanks, Paul.
Okay, Jojo, one for you from Laura.
Can I panel a very long, narrow hallway?
Oh, I mean, you know me and panelling.
You can panel bloody anything you like.
Obviously. I'd panel the anything you like. Obviously.
Panel the inside of your car if I could. Panelling can massively enhance and add character and architectural interest to absolutely any space. A corridor is no exception.
There's a soundbite. a little a corridor is absolutely no exception if anything a long narrow corridor is going to
benefit hugely from paneling but it's the type of paneling that you choose because if you think
tall vertical paneling is going to make somewhere look taller and sort of slimmer but if you go
horizontal it's going to make it longer and wider you see so you what should she be going with so if it's long
and narrow then i would be inclined to go with half height vertical up to dado height or she
could do like a shaker style paneling which is going to sort of help widen your eye a bit
so i think it definitely and also don't forget also the brilliant thing about paneling another
consideration about paneling in a hallway or a corridor, is that it's actually going to help protect your walls.
Because on narrow corridors, when you're running up and down, you know, bushing past, you know, corridors and your walls, because it's obviously, you know, usually an MDF, painted MDF in an eggshell, it's going to be so much better protected.
So it's going to be so much better protected so um it's brilliant hold on pal in terms of the type of paneling would you do the ones which are just like um
sort of chunky slats next to each other or would you do the ones which look a bit more like a
picture frame which is much wider and sort of spread out is that what a shaker is yeah so you've
got vertical grooves so imagine vertical grooves that's like you know vertical and then
you can do that one and shaker is the is the bigger one and shaker is literally like a sort
of square like it's almost got a sort of frame a bit like a picture frame a bit like a picture
frame yes i imagine that would make it feel wider wouldn't it yes and i'm also going to throw out
there and say it very much depends on the style of your house, which she hasn't told us the style of her house. But if it is, say, a Victorian period property,
then something with a nice moulding,
a moulded panel would look nicer.
Now, do you know what I mean by moulded?
Yeah.
It's a bit like a dado rail, but stuck on.
Moulded is stuck on.
Whereas if it was new build?
Then you could go more like a sort of a v groove
paneling or a shaker style paneling which is just literally a square picture frame
a bit more straight and you know and orderly love it so you've got a couple of options there
absolutely honey percent panel that goddamn hallway oh i've got a good one here from rob
my garden has turned into the local cat toilet.
What do I do?
My garden has turned into the local cat toilet.
Do you know what, Rob?
Rob, this has made me laugh because yesterday I ran out of my studio
to chase a cat who was shitting in my new garden, newly landscaped garden.
I was out. I was affronted um so I empathize so cats really like bare soil and they like gravel as well so I've been doing
some research on this because obviously I'm not here for the cruelty I'm not much of a cat girl
myself because I'm hideously allergic to them but um you know they're fine as long as they
don't shit in my garden um so they are really sensitive to smell and they don't like uh scents
like citrus and lavender so one thing that uh quite a few animal charities recommend is that
you mix something like lemon juice or lavender oil in a in a sort of spray can with water and you spritz
that wherever they tend to crap and that apparently really puts them off you can also so something
which i've used with foxes before because god i've got i've got a real fox problem now as well
it's which is delightful they just leave me presents every week not in terms of crap in
terms of weird items disgusting smell as well
fox shit yeah but it's it's the weird mysterious things that turn up in my garden like a shoe
a fox i kid you not i was working the other day and a fox walked past the window with a entire
sandwich in its mouth oh wow i wonder what flavor and just looked at me like what of it
it was a full triangle of a sandwich.
I wonder if it's a nice M&S cheese and ham.
It looked like it.
I mean, someone lost their lunch.
But anyway, so what I used to do in my old garden where we had real problems with it
was we had one of those automatic water sprayers.
So it's motion detected.
Like a trigger.
And it sprays water.
It just surprises them
and apparently that works with cats um it worked really well actually but obviously then you
sometimes get sprayed yourself it's really odd because i'm i'm the i'm the owner of three cats
and my cats don't shit in our garden that's an old thing they'll be shitting in your neighbor's
garden instead which is okay i know but you're all right um and also um you can have those i don't like
them because i can hear them those really ultrasonic like you know the sensors and they
they let off a really really high pitched noise that apparently cats don't like but i also don't
like them rob's got about 12 deterrents there that he can now use yeah rob or actually the
nicest thing you can do is actually
usually as if you actually plant your garden more so they they like bare earth so it might be that
your plants are too spread out and so if you add more planting then they you know that makes it
harder for them but i'm you know whatever you do make it make it kind god speaking of fox shit just
quickly reminiscing i used to have dogs and I would remember when they would go running off and they'd sort of be, they'd do that thing where they'd roll and they'd roll and they'd roll.
And you're like, no, no.
And your dog owners will know what I'm talking about.
And you're running towards them and you're like, no.
You know what that means.
And then you're like, oh.
And it always is around their neck.
And it's just the worst stench of any any smell it worse than the semen tree
awful do you know what i spent a fortune fox proofing the underside of the studio
because i've had so foxes really like to nest under sheds oh do they so yeah yeah so often if
you've got a garden shed particularly if it's not used very often they love it under there
um so i've got a special mesh put under it because i was like i'm not i'm not
having that so we just don't get foxes out where we are no foxes at all more of an urban like urban
suburban i love the wildlife i just don't like it when they dig up my stuff right this is from laura
i am an outie from easter but an innie for now. Oh, she's a fair weather outie.
I can decorate a room, no problem, but I cannot style it.
It's the small trinkets and pictures that I struggle with.
How do I style a room?
Such a good question, dude.
Well, it is and it's not in that I just don't like small trinkets.
No, but you do a beautiful job with, say, your bookshelves.
They're not just books on a bookshelf.
You have all sorts of items.
They're items, but they're not small.
When I think trinkets, I think little, little things.
And I know that you might go, it's almost like little souvenirs and things.
They're very, very hard.
Pal, it would transfer the same into the garden if it was your idea of tiny little pots you know what would you say if i said to you there was tiny little pots all over your
garden what would you do with them if i if it was me i'd probably group them all into one place
put them in a box put some sellotape brown tape around them and put them in the loft
i just really sorry i just i i find it so hard trinkets are very
I think she means more the styling of a room pal she's I disregard the the use of the word
trinkets I think she means more that like she's got her furniture how does she style the room with
the bits because you you know you come in you guys are forced to be reckoned with and just
add in the things which are turn a furnished room into sort of a a completed look so i think the mistake that people make is that they've got all their they
unpack their boxes and they just put everything everywhere and then they live there and then
you're looking around you're like why does it just not look right what you need to do is you need to
start again so you take everything take all your accessories down like this is a really good one
for everyone to try take all your accessories down put them all in a corner of the room so you've just got your your you know
foundations of your room your sofas and your chairs and your bed whatever it is and then start
with the biggest objects i always tend to start with books first so i'll lay my books out where
they need to go in a nice order then you get the biggest items and then you place those and then
you work your way up so you start with your big and then you place those and then you work your way up so you start with
your big and then you go medium and then you go small and when you start to get to the little
things the little accessories that's usually when you start thinking oh it's feeling a bit much
yes so start big and then work your way through to the small stuff and if the small stuff's not
working i would say almost the small stuff could almost do with
you could almost put it on a on a couple of shelves in a study with you know lots of little
trinkets that works better than having lots of stuff spread out everywhere so yeah that's probably
my number one a bit of advice excellent tip thank you okay Paul I've got a quick one for you my love
from an outie this is from Bo um a patio material on a budget please pea gravel or push for pavers pea gravel or push for pavers
or push for pavers so uh pea gravel is amazing in certain areas i use it loads for uh pathways
that sort of smaller 10 millimeter gravel but it's really it can be very annoying in terms of if you're using
it anywhere that's a dining space or a seating space because if you think about it if you're
sat on a dining table and you're pushing back that furniture is going to sort of push the gravel out
of the way we have used it and it looks beautiful if you're on pinterest ever and you see those
amazing sort of american schemes where they've got that amazing gravel courtyard with furniture on it
it can look fantastic and it's good when it's
sort of really compressed down and it is a really good thing to do on a budget because obviously
it's low cost to buy and low cost to lay but I would really recommend if you can push for paving
in any way which is a gathering space which will have furniture on I really would if you can um
there are some really quite affordable paving options now there's more coming
to the market in the limestone which is probably my favorite stone um that are sort of lower cost
which can be brilliant options so if you can i think as with everything when it comes to things
in your garden try and push yourself as far as is comfortable for you so if you can go for paving
i would i think it's much nicer it means
that you can walk around barefoot in the garden as well which obviously you can't really do with
gravel so I would limit your gravel to spaces for vehicles and for pathways and if you can just try
and go for pavers can I ask a question there actually Paul can I chip in on the end there
I yeah I actually really like that sprayed, is it sprayed gravel?
Resin.
Resin, is it resin gravel is it called?
Do you mean like what you see on a driveway as sort of?
Yeah, like spray.
It's been like orange, like tarmac, but different colours.
Yes, and it's sometimes combined with pavers, like sort of little cobbles.
Do you not like that? I don't, look, resin has its place in certain driveways where you've got a
slope and your options you can't use gravel um and pavers for whatever reason don't work but
so i think resin is kind of to me a utility material and certainly not something i would
ever put in a back garden unless it was for kind of some sort of path that you would needed
to push things like wheelbarrows and things
on i had it in my old house in my rear because i had a patio and it had two palm trees and it had
we had this really nice garden furniture and we did a sprayed gravel and it or resin gravel and
i think it looked really nice because it meant that we could put this really nice garden furniture
and it wasn't we didn't have space for grass or anything like that paving would have
looked too i'll show you a picture enough pal it's it's not a it's not a cheap option either it's a
resin is an expensive option it's also not particularly environmentally friendly so it's
just not something i'd choose and i just always prefer that look of natural stone i just think
it's a garden and any sort of natural materials i think sit so much better in that space. Okay.
Although, can I just ask one more question?
What if it's on a slight slope?
I'm selfishly asking for myself here because outside my garage,
under my willow trees is a slope.
Yeah, well, you've got two options, pal.
I mean, where you live, I would be looking to install cobbles.
Ideally, I would be doing gravel on the flat
and then I would be doing cobbles because you live in a rural area yeah and resin could look a little bit too out of place polished
whereas some sort of set like granite set or a beautiful cobble mixed in with gravel because
gravel's obviously as i said the most inexpensive option so we don't want to like cobble your entire
driveway that'll cost you a lot of money yeah it looks spectacular it would look bloody spectacular
actually if you just on that small slope I would be doing cobbles it will look
absolutely beautiful and you know it gives that slightly country feel so that's lovely thanks pal
that's very helpful great answer all right then we'll wrap it up for today shall we so what's
what's in what's out what is in and what is out this week uh poll what is in, what's out? What is in and what is out this week?
Paul, what is in for you?
What's in for me is shirts.
So you know how I love a knitwear?
Yes.
So for winter, I love knitwear.
I have more cashmere jumpers than I care to talk about.
Oh, darling.
For spring, I love a shirt.
I know, they're not all cashmere.
I love a shirt.
I love like a bold, stripy shirt. I'm wearing one now. I'm wearing a cashmere um i love a shirt i love like a bold stripy shirt i'm wearing
one now i'm wearing a cashmere jumper darling oh well look at us well look at us we've made it
um so in for me i'm really obsessed with with nothing underneath it's um you should look them
up really they do oh yeah best shirts i've done the end you do the out what's the fucking it's the fucking rain isn't it
it's just the rain you don't even have to work in it i have to look at it it makes me feel a
certain way i have to walk in it it's just not doing it for me right now just it's just no i've
had enough of it now because it's actually felt quite warm today it felt like there's a real
spring in the air but it's bloody gray out there what's the because it's actually felt quite warm today. It felt like there's a real spring in the air, but it's bloody grey out there.
Want some sunshine.
It's incredibly a very, very wet March, isn't it?
So yeah, fair enough.
Oh, and what's my homework?
What's my homework?
What's my homework?
Polly's homework.
Polly's homework.
We've got to sort your windows out.
I think windows is a big thing.
I think we need to crack your windows.
Not literally.
We do need to look at your windows
and make sure you're choosing what you know the ones that you really like because there are so
many options out there I was actually going to do I know I'm trying to kind of get crack my
confidence on doing these talking to you're trying to help me here Paul aren't you but
um I'm trying to speak to camera more because I'm useless today and believe it or not everyone out
there who watches me I actually hate it so I'm going to build up my confidence doing more of this like
actual camera speaking and one of the things I was going to talk to you guys about because I get
asked all the time about my very own windows at home um and about what they are what they're made
of why I chose them what's great about them so I'm going to show you my windows that's about that
so I'll do I promise you I'm going to do that um so I think windows your windows are timber aren't they they are
yeah yeah see the thing everyone was saying don't have timber windows because of the painting but
they're more affordable but these are the same sort of people that worry about options that
these are sort of same people that would worry about you know their grout getting dirty that's
going to happen sure sure yeah if you're practicing i think
it's practical nancy's so i think that and also i think bathroom planning my love i think we've
just got to crack your bathrooms let's go all right so windows and a bathroom plan bathroom
plan yes okay bring it and then also there's one more one more little feature that i wanted to add
every week that i think would be really fun and this is because yeah guys honestly we and I know we say this every week I'm sorry I know we've said this every week but we read all
of your questions we genuinely read questions we screenshot them we send them to each other
we all just like oh my god that's so lovely we have a real don't we poll have a moment we do
for these lovely questions so I've got here and I think we should start doing a, basically like a message, a message
of the week.
So on the nicest message that we've received from anybody, I don't think it needs to be
necessarily gushy or particularly lovely or blowing smoke up our asses, but it just needs
to be.
It could be funny too.
It could be funny.
Take the piss out of us.
Tell us we're assholes,
whatever you want to do.
Anyway, this one is blowing a bit of smoke,
but it's fine.
This is lovely.
Sally said,
the podcast is helping so much.

as being the message of the week.
