Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? Happy Wednesday. It's episode 111. I mean, we're releasing some new shit over on Patreon. So go check it out. Once again, that's patreon.com slash TJMS. All right, let's get into it. I'll be honest right now. I'm feeling happy. I'm feeling free.
Starting point is 00:01:09 I just had a great talk with my brother and we're sitting around. We're about to watch The Bachelor. I'm here in my mom's kitchen again, doing this at night. But I told him, I'm like, I'm going to do this really quick. Tap in, tap out. You know how I do it when I'm on a, on a, I guess a schedule, when I'm on a schedule with family I'm like I clock in update you guys on my day get out um you know but it'll probably be a 30 minute episode I don't know my brother's in here hi they're making uh he's just pouring a drink a little whiskey on the rocks we're having let's see on the stove we've got curly now what are those tater tots emotional support drink yeah it's his emotion we'll get into that um we got tater tots and fucking onion rings on the stove right now
Starting point is 00:01:55 and we have filet mignon in the in the uh in the fridge that was supposed to be cooked tonight but I'll be honest I'll be just super raw and real right now shit kind of hit the fan tonight in a weird way and uh I'm not I'm gonna I'm gonna tap dance around that I'm gonna be vague but it was supposed to be a big night filet mignon it's christmas eve eve uh i saw that on social media today people are like happy christmas eve eve i think kylie posted yeah she like posted a picture in front of a jet and she's like christmas eve eve i said it too i posted a gram i said christmas eve so tonight was going to be like a big you know filet mignon watch the bachelor drink wine type of night and it's you know it's a small house there are some members that are not with us
Starting point is 00:02:41 tonight. Uh, they had left and that's okay. I'm all about doing whatever you got to do to, you know, set a boundary, remove yourself, get some space, fresh air, um, you know, whatever you guys this year. Wow. Um, I guess being home has taught me so many good things about growing up and like relationship dynamics. And I don't know today I had a little relapse kind of, uh, another situation go down tonight. Um, again, I guys, I don't want to, I don't want to vent. I don't want to be kind of like, I don't want to just talk about it, but, um, that's what I'm kind of going through right now. And I'm happy. And I feel like I'm kind of just like happy because I know what's good and I got my shit together and I'm like fucking staying level
Starting point is 00:03:32 headed about it. You know, I did a bunch of YouTube therapy on Sunday after my Friday and Saturday, uh, dramatic relationship situations with family members. Like I talked about it a little bit, but yeah, after Sunday, I'm like, I did there. I basically just got some YouTube therapy in me all day from Dr. Romani and some other people. Uh, I'll be calling my therapist. I need to actually, uh, to sit in front of her and talk about this kind of stuff. But, uh, I don't know. I'm feeling like I'm level. I'm calm about it. I have the right mindset and I have empathy about it. Um, guys, I know this is annoying. I know like my, my brother's girlfriend was like, I think a lot of people could relate to this and they would learn something and
Starting point is 00:04:17 it might be really helpful to talk about it. I'm like, I don't have permission to, I don't know, not permission, but I don't, this is not the talk, talk about family relationships podcast. It's about, uh, I don't know. Let's just talk about my day. All right. I slept on the couch again it was great I woke up to my mom stoking the fire she came and felt me like I was this cold corpse because she you know she always offers her bed like I'm allowed because all of the beds are taken and I'm usually the one who's up late podcasting so I got the couch and anyways she comes in this morning and like I noticed she touched my feet and the blanket I had and she's like freaking out goes over to the fireplace stokes the fire to warm me up and little did she
Starting point is 00:05:04 know I had a fleece like super thick blanket under me that was I had like three blankets I was not cold and in fact I stoked the fire myself in the middle of the night just so I could stay warm all night so whatever I woke up to that and then that was cool and I woke up to a beautiful sunset it was like pink, orange, yellow, totally frosty outside. Typical, say like Northwest winter morning. It feels Christmassy. It was a great morning. We kind of did the same thing as yesterday. We woke up, got coffee, sat around the kitchen table, just talked about life, caught up about stuff. I don't know. Like what else happened? My grandpa showed up at one point um I feel like did anything crazy happen this morning I don't know I saw I saw a really
Starting point is 00:05:58 well-spoken Donald Trump in a four-minute video yesterday uh I don't care what side you're on that speech he made about the COVID relief bill it's pretty stand up and I have a lot of respect for what he did about um calling out the all the money going to foreign affairs and and things in in the COVID bill but yet the American people are getting six hundred dollars and you know I don't know I know that it's I know like for example if you're unfamiliar this nine hundred billion dollar bill has it's split up in a five thousand nine hundred ninety three I believe I don't know why I remember the number uh page bill five thousand it's almost six thousand fucking pages and it's split up in all these different ways and it's full of foreign affair
Starting point is 00:06:45 money that's going to you know Egypt, Burma, I think Colombia like other countries and I don't I don't know the specifics and I don't really understand how everything works but to me it's like well why is that not it's why aren't foreign affairs dealt with in a different bill because it kind of looks bad when everyone's getting 600 yet Colombia is getting a few million I think there's a billion going to Egypt or something like that I don't know it's very complicated but I I thought it was a great move on Trump's end to say no no no this isn't kosher like this isn't cool what the hell uh let's take care of our people first let's put their put the money as much money as we can give the American people and uh yeah so saw that this
Starting point is 00:07:32 morning that was like my wake up uh video I watched um anyways oh people are coming back to town we got car rolling in um bachelor bachelor's on tater tots are being eaten let's keep moving so then um shit what happened after that okay honestly I feel kind of weird about the fact that my okay I kind of teased and I feel bad about this a little bit I'll be honest with you guys I said when I go home to Washington it's going to be interviews more people more more things happening, dah, dah, dah. But for the most part, this, this podcast has been a couple interviews since I've been home, which is fun and me not doing much, just hanging out at my mom's house. You know what I mean? Uh, and then doing an episode every day about just like hanging around
Starting point is 00:08:24 the house and buying groceries and whatever, you know, so I'm trying to make it exciting. Maybe the most small little details are interesting to you. I don't know. I like when people talk about like waking up and drink coffee with the family and, and, uh, Oh, I got it. I got a locked door. Hold on. Let me go guys. This is live on tape. I'm opening the door. We got a locked door. Hey, just did that. Sometimes I do that. I don't edit this. So I just have to get up, do my thing, help the fam. But yeah. Um, so I'm sorry if this is like the same as yesterday, but then what happened um I made avo toast toast at one point I don't know I feel like all I do here is drink a ton of coffee in the morning I make a really good breakfast like I made avo toast I had
Starting point is 00:09:16 some grapes on the side my brother came and took a bite of it and he's like holy shit it's I make the best avo toast because I feel like you just need specific like four specific ingredients to sprinkle on top and that makes it so good I do I've said this before but once again I do sourdough avocado lemon juice salt and pepper and crushed chili flakes that's it it's so good but yeah I had that um what else happened we I don't I feel like today was so chill I was kind of tired all day I think I napped at one point um I cleaned the house I vacuumed just like a light cleaning I didn't deep clean anything. I just like picked up because we have a dog here that eats socks. Here he is actually. Hi, Odie. Petting them right now. Live on, live on the podcast. And I was
Starting point is 00:10:07 making sure again today that nothing was on the floor. No socks were on the floor. No little objects, no little pieces of chocolate. We have a lot of snacks around here right now. And I'm, I know he likes to eat. So, um, anyway, so I did that today. Uh, worked a little bit in the afternoon. Um, I'm like bored by this already. I feel like guys, what can I tell you? You know what I thought about doing? I told, I told my brother and his girlfriend, I was like, okay, I'm going to do this podcast quick. I'm going to do a Buzzfeed quiz, but I feel like I got more content than, than doing a quiz for like, sometimes I do that just cause it helps me come up with content um I did talk about the COVID relief bill a little bit um what else
Starting point is 00:10:51 happened okay so my brother and his girlfriend went oh they went Christmas shopping and then they came out when they came home they're like okay don't look and they oh I I remembered I just remembered like everything I did for the rest of the day I just remembered okay cool so they came out showing every gift they got making sure I thought it was cool they didn't need to return it because they have like one day Christmas Eve tomorrow to change gifts up so I was approving gifts I was making sure everything was good they did a great job picking stuff out they were very thoughtful and all the stuff they got was like practical and useful for the people they got it for so I was like great job so yeah they were shopping all day we were here at the house
Starting point is 00:11:31 let's see my mom and sister went up to the Taylor shellfish shellfish farms I think I've talked about them before. They're an oyster farm or like a shellfish farm here in Washington. And it's a really cool drive to go out and get oysters. So it's kind of fun to do that. But yeah, they went up there and I guess long story short, they were out or they didn't have the ones we like. So I don't know. At that time when they were up there, I was vacuuming. I drank a bunch of caffeine. I went and worked out. Guys, I basically had a realization today and it goes like this. Jacqueline, you need to sweat hard you need to like exert your body sweat yoga's great you do get a little sweaty from that when you go hard but you really need to go do some cardio sweat it out and I went
Starting point is 00:12:20 and jumped on the elliptical for my mom's cooking a filet right now she just they just got home but um I'm on the elliptical I'm sweating hard I'm watching whiskey ginger I was watching Andrew Santino's podcast like I don't even know I was on that then I feel like when whenever whenever I start watching I usually start out with something slow like a podcast and once I get the energy and the sweat going I'm like I'm I'm switching to my juice world I don't even know that's not even that hard like to work out to I don't know I'm switching to my Spotify shit and my hardcore like dubstep type of music so I did that and then I guess like 30 minutes into that 30 minutes into that my aunt rolls up my cousin rolls up I haven't seen them in
Starting point is 00:13:06 like um I haven't seen them and I don't know like I guess since last Thanksgiving and uh hold on I gotta go to the other room I got people being just in their own world cooking filet in the kitchen where I was at but you know it's hard to be a podcast house in a full house you know what now I gotta go sit on the dog bed doing this you know I might take a picture and post it on Patreon that'd be hilarious me shucking and jiving changing up the set live on the podcast sitting on the dog bed to get a new position that'd be a funny pick I don't know like this is what I'm realizing realizing living in a full house doing this every day you really got to be flexible and it's kind of fun like I just like when people walk in the room I'm like mom's cooking
Starting point is 00:13:52 filet Robert's pouring a self-care drink right now I've I support that you know what and nights like tonight I get it drink your little whiskey watch the bachelor do your thing but yeah now I'm on the dog bed in the, in the fucking, I'm next to the dryer. Here's content on the fly. I'm next to the dryer. I'm sitting, I'm sitting next to the dog bed. Uh, and I'm looking at, not even kidding. There's a couple of chainsaws in front of me. Uh, I think one's a chainsaw and one's a hedge cutter for our bushes. Um, there's a garbage disposal that's going to get installed in front of me. It's kind of like the mud room where all the like equipment and cleaning shit goes. Yeah. So I'm here. But anyways, my aunt, my cousin showed up. It was so fun to see them. And it sucks how
Starting point is 00:14:37 like, you guys know this. I live away from family now. It's, you know what it is, but I'm like, damn, my cousin's grown up so much and I just want to hang with her. Like I was realizing that, damn, like I haven't seen you in forever. I just want to have more time. Like I want to have a girl's day. I want to hang out with you. I want to go out with you. You're 21 now. Like this, that would be so fun. And we were literally, we had like one nice little powwow conversation. I was like oh you're cool like I just I miss you like this is fun and my other cousin came she came excuse me oh my god I don't I didn't bring my LaCroix in here shit I gotta go back to the kitchen but I saw my other cousin last night for the first time forever it was nice
Starting point is 00:15:15 hold on get my drink I can't do this dry mouthed not drinking tonight not drinking anything having LaCroix having LaCroix and happiness that's my drink of choice so yeah we basically just hung out with them they gave us some presents for Christmas or my mom my aunt was like this is a happy new year present which I thought was kind of sweet um I don't know she always gets us like the same amazing candles and soaps and things and she crochets the most like homemade perfect little rags to do your dishes and wipe your counters with and uh she'll I think she forgot tonight but I'm excited because I'm using one in San Diego I finally used it it's her little crocheted rag and I feel like it's something in our family like my great grandma used to make them
Starting point is 00:16:01 and my aunt learned how to make them my great grandma taught me one time I'm not really good with the crocheting anymore but it's like a sweet nostalgic thing to get every year so yeah she dropped that off it was a lot of fun seeing them and shooting the shit I feel like that's honestly the best thing about family and coming together is just you don't really have to say much or do much you just sit around a table and talk and it's the most perfect thing and I had a little conversation with my brother and I'm like I need my people like I realized this year has been a little lonely and I moved to a different spot in San Diego and I'm like you know shouldn't make these dumb excuses up for myself I really need to find my people put myself out there um because I
Starting point is 00:16:42 want to do that all the time I want to sit around shoot the shit if I don't have family close by I got to have solid friends. And that's my goal, I guess, in 2021 to just really put myself out there and find my people. Cause I'm, I'm like ready for it. I'm like, okay, Jacqueline, you got your shit together. 2020 is over. All right. Uh, you're settled in with yourself and what you want to do. And now you can poke around and I don't know, beat bop around the city and say hello to people all right so yeah they hung out and then um what happened after that we got fillets out got the curly fries and shit in the oven what else were we gonna have did anything happen when we were talking that was exciting I don't know again it was just great seeing them and I was
Starting point is 00:17:29 like so full and even though it was for a little bit it was still like just nice I miss family and I just, I just like, again, I'm going to hit up my cousin and be like, dude, we have to hang out at least tomorrow. I have to see you before I fly back. We need to just chill and talk. And, um, damn, it's, it's really cool to see your cousins and your family grow up and turn out to be like, just like good ass people in this world. And you're proud of them and excited for them. And I know she's doing her thing. And, um, yeah. So anyways, by the way, my other cousin last night brought this cool I don't think I talked about this on the show last night okay shout out to Katie she brought this Switch this Nintendo Switch which I know I've known about and she
Starting point is 00:18:17 plays Animal Crossing and this cool it's like Mario Live or something where you have an actual car with Mario in it and there's a camera installed so when you're on your Switch you can drive around your house and like not crash because you're steering it because you have a little camera on it. And it was so cute. We were in the kitchen making dinner and the little car comes in and it's like perfectly maneuvering around with my legs. And like, she was playing with it in the other room and it was so cool, but I don't know. I miss them. I could talk another fucking three hours right now about like growing up with my cousins, being the older cousin, babysitting them, doing fun stuff with them. Like it's been a journey, but I'm grateful for them.
Starting point is 00:18:59 and uh yeah then you guys struggle bus hit struggle bus hit the again I'm gonna tread lightly but I think it's worth saying that shit kind of hit the fan again we had a little relapse a little boop boop people got to break up and take a breath and get their space and um I think I think the positive thing about my family is we always talk it out we always learn and or we we I'd say for the most part like learn from our little hiccups mistakes with each other and we forgive and we allow room to or what I'd hope and sometimes I don't see this happen all the time but I think who knows I not everything's perfect but I think ideally it's like if you fuck up if you say something wrong or offensive and someone gets upset I think it's great that we
Starting point is 00:19:45 like accept each other's apologies we um you know make it good we hug it out and then we move on from it we don't just hold them hostage and make them feel like they're horrible people for even thinking about saying something like that how terrible of you you piece of shit like sometimes like if you go that route you never get anywhere and that poor person who made a innocent mistake is left confused and they're like I can't win because here I am learning a lesson saying sorry and then that's not good enough I now have to get dissected and told that you can't make mistakes. You're not allowed to make mistakes. You can't ever do that. And how dare you? And anyway, so basically that was the day, um, we ended up my, we're watching The
Starting point is 00:20:37 Bachelor right now. I'm about to go watch it with them. I saw some stuff on social media about it, but look, I haven't watched this entire season at all. Only the first like couple episodes with Claire. Then I found out about her and Dale. So I was like, okay. And then The New Bachelorette came on. And then I just watched the part one of the finale yesterday. And then we're watching the final one tonight. So I don't even know about the guys really, but I'm here to see the finale. I like seeing the drama at the end. I don't know. I think they're meeting the family today, going to hometowns and someone's proposing. I think, I don't know. One more drink of Malacroix. Oh, it was so funny. We were playing with a telescope this morning.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Dude, last night was crazy. On the couch, I was like, I think I hear coyotes. I was like, what am I hearing outside? It sounds like coyotes and a lot of them. Well, it turns out, I told my brother, he wanted to go look at the stars. I think the Jupiter-Saturn situation, the thing that happened on the 21st on Monday. I think him and his girlfriend wanted to go. And I'll just say Justine. It's her name.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Justine and my brother, Rob, went to look at the, they want to use my telescope. It's been in the garage forever. I got that a long time ago and we still have it. So I thought they were out there using that telescope. So I heard the coyotes not really connecting the two dots. Like they're out there and the coyotes are out there. I thought they were looking at stars, but turns out my brother this morning was like, yeah, I was howling at the coyotes, coyotes. I was, we were on a walk. They went on like a two mile walk in the dark and they're howling at the coyotes and the dog, Odie, the dog we're babysitting here.
Starting point is 00:22:15 by the way I someone DMing they're like what kind of dog is it Odie is a I think they did a DNA test so they found out because he was a rescue he's a lab pit mix and he has some chow in him chow chow which is cute because today we took off his collar and his neck is kind of it's like kind of loose like he has some loose skin like a chow chow it's kind of like his chunky spot he's he's perfect I even was looking, I didn't say this, but I was looking at dogs today. I think I've zeroed in on the fact that I really do want a dog. I don't think I want a kitten. I was worried a dog was going to be too high maintenance, which sounds really sad because it's worth it. I think I'm ready for it. I'm 26. I have my own, I have my own place. I don't have a roommate and I just like
Starting point is 00:23:06 love dogs. I love the energy. And Odie has totally convinced me that she's ready. She's ready to adopt. And, uh, I'm, I'm hoping that I don't want to rush it, but maybe by mid next year I'll have a dog. So, woo. Um, but yeah, anyways, they were howling at the coyotes. That's what he told me. And the dog was going crazy. And I don't know, it's fun to watch them like mess with him because they can kind of like say and do certain shit and the dog like freaks out or barks or rolls over salutes or he's like really smart and I don't know they have fun with him but yeah they were out there so they play with the telescope I guess it wasn't working and they went on a walk why am I telling you this oh because we were we're my mom had the tell she had the telescope
Starting point is 00:23:52 out or she's playing with it this morning she said something funny uh I was like walking by are trying to take a picture of the sunrise and she's like oh it's set I know it's this is so my mom it had the little uh remote thing on the telescope it's like a it's a pretty I don't know what I feel like it's a really nice telescope if you look at it it's like big and just nice it has this little remote thing on it and it was blinking warning in orange it was like warning warning so I'm walking outside I like put my brother's big ass size 13 tennis shoes on just to walk outside take a picture of the sunrise I'm just woke I hadn't even taken my retainer out this was like the early part of the morning and my mom's like what is this saying warning for she's
Starting point is 00:24:41 looking at she's like or no I was saying that and she's like it means a rocket's coming I don't know why that was so funny but just the way she said it she's like that means a rocket's coming down like warning so yeah guys again that's pretty much the day I hope you had a great Wednesday Christmas Eve Eve um yeah it's getting closer to Christmas Santa's coming to town uh I'm always sensitive and uh vocal about the fact that I I'm you know I'm praying for you if it's not an easy year with family or uh your life and going through stuff with the current current situation with the COVID and lockdowns and um distance from family so I'm thinking about you I hope you're hanging in there I know that's the phrase of the year I hope you're hanging in
Starting point is 00:25:35 there uh but uh I guess the perspective I'm not trying to tell you what to do but we're gonna to get through this is this is just um I think it's logical to think that this isn't going to be all the time forever and as long as you kind of have that mindset and try to keep yourself up with positive stuff you know I don't know like I've kind of been doing the bare minimum I'll be honest with uh I should give myself a little more credit than that I think it's it's okay this year to kind of take it easy on yourself a little bit. Um, and not be too like, like strict about like, I gotta be working out like a bat out of hell and doing all my routines perfectly and waking up early and trying hard. Cause some days you just don't want to do that. And I know the holidays
Starting point is 00:26:27 can be tough and just like, let yourself kind of just don't be a lazy slack off, but I guess talk nice to yourself. These are all the things they tell you to do. The experts would be like positive affirmations, meditation, call a friend, whatever. Um, I'm all about here's, here's the best thing that helps me through tough times and kind of low moments is you never miss more than two days in a row. So whether that's being a lazy ass, not working, not working out, not eating right, not, or being negative, mad, pissed off, resentful, bitter to a family member while you're with them or, um, or a friend or really like a girlfriend, boyfriend, um, just any kind of negative phase you're in, just ideally snap out of it the next day or try to, uh, cool off the
Starting point is 00:27:22 next day. But don't let that shit brew for a week. You know, you really got to kick it in the ass after a couple of days. And I think that little rule or that, that little tool helps me remember my goals like remember that I'm I don't want to be in this uh bad energy forever you know I want to make changes and work on it and feel better and be upbeat and happy for the rest of the week or whatever so that's just a little tool that that's I don't know who I feel like all the thought leaders experts out there the people that are really influential about um their uh with their like I guess life coaching information and tools they're kind of all the ones saying it but you got to my mom says the best I've learned I've I'll never forget this phrase is there
Starting point is 00:28:16 some of her famous last words uh got to recover quickly got to recover quickly you the ability experts like think of the top athletes the top um entertainer not athletes military is probably like the best of this when some when shit hits the fan it's all about your reaction how quickly you recover so you can get back on on top of things and I think the strongest people in the world are able to and again I'm all about you know take your time do what you got to do to get back on your feet but the longer you sit and overthink it and stew about it and be sad about it and, um, resent people or beat yourself up, like it'll just manifest into a shit storm. So keep her, keep your perspective, keep your head on straight, recover quickly. Um, it feels
Starting point is 00:29:13 good to just get the fuck after. Honestly, some days when I'm feeling like, ah, just it's not it. I go and watch David Goggins videos until I can't stop. Like I can't take it any longer. I just, I take, I open his Instagram account and I'm on David Goggins for like 20 minutes of whatever. and I'm like, yep, you've got to, you could just buck up with yourself, and it feels great, you're just like, new day, new me, new energy, I'm kind of pep-talking myself this right now, because of tonight, I'm like, I know I'm gonna have an amazing day tomorrow, like, I've already planned it, it's already on the brain, you gotta, like, what you, you just gotta set your mind to shit, all right, here's the motivational ending for your Wednesday, I gotta go watch The Bachelorette,
Starting point is 00:29:58 um I I you know I could drag this on another hour and a half but we gotta call it thanks for hanging out again I hope you're happy I hope you're healthy this year um hope your family's doing well um I hope you get everything you want for Christmas I don't know if you guys ask for anything or like really want something bad like when you're little you're like I really want a Tonka truck mommy like I really want a Tonka truck we used to play with those in the dirt like just push them around but um I don't know as an adult you're kind of just like happy for whatever and appreciative of your I'm more about all I want for Christmas is like tonight just hanging out with family and shooting the shit like I don't I feel like the I don't really think about oh I
Starting point is 00:30:40 really want that so but it happens and I think don't no shame in wanting something for Christmas go for it I hope you get what you want hope Santa is good to you this year um shit hope yeah okay I just feel like I really got to say I'm with you I hear you I'm I'm on your side I'm praying for you I just it hurts me that I know people are struggling this year and um it just makes me want to I don't know how or when or whatever but I feel like I can do something with I don't know if it's a podcast or with my job and I I feel like I am making a difference with my job in a cool way But I think when you I think this world needs people with I think leaders are called like they step forward and they realize there's shit going on in the world and they're called like I got to step up. I got to help. And I kind of feel like that's starting to come upon me in a real way because of the current times in 2020 and struggling people.
Starting point is 00:31:40 And, you know, when I go back to San Diego, it's going to be all about like plugging myself into the world again and finding friends, maybe finding a job that's like a side job just for the social aspect and interacting with people again and knowing my neighbors and getting back at it.
