Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, happy Wednesday. It's episode 118. Welcome back to the show. hey what's up it's Jacqueline welcome back to the show I'm coming to you live at 10 p.m. in my candlelit apartment I got my led lights on I'm feeling cozy I just watched Ozark and I realized ah shit it's 10 p.m. I have to record my show today because as you know I do this seven days a week um don't ask questions it's just what it's what I do okay it's my little self-reflection time my little audio diary I talk about my day talk I talk about what I got up to tonight I'm drinking a LaCroix I'll do this live right now I'll open it fresh for you guys
Starting point is 00:01:13 it just got on my couch great so I'm literally laying down I haven't done this in a while I feel like this is going to be a short and sweet episode it's Wednesday I'm like what did I do today I have remember this on the fly I didn't take any notes I have no I have no clue where this is gonna go but let's get into it um yeah I just watched Ozark love that show so much it's like I don't I love Ruth in it Ruth is such a badass I love her like frumpy kind of poor style it's like I love it I don't know like all of them have that kind of style but hers is so cute with her little skirts and flats and her like shitty purses like I love it I'm just really into this show right now I don't know have you guys watched it on uh it's on Netflix like every other fucking show hold on
Starting point is 00:02:04 I'm trying to get my blanket over me like this is an actual bedtime like sexy time I don't know what you call this episode I'm like getting comfy um I kind of like doing the show at night I don't know why because in the morning I'm cracked out on my coffee no I can't I can't close my airway I can't lay all the way down hold on I'm cracked out on my coffee in the morning and I don't know it's a whole different version of me but let's start with the morning um holy shit so it was kind of a rough start um not to be negative but I planned on waking up and working out again like I told you guys yesterday and I didn't do that um I just laid in bed for like an extra hour I woke up at 6 30 and then I slept until like 8 anyway so that's my honest like I'm
Starting point is 00:02:56 not here's the thing I don't sugarcoat anything I'm super straightforward and honest about when I'm not on point and I feel like this morning I was not on point but I did get my shit together I had a ton of phone calls to make I had some fraudulent charges on one of my cards I had to like call and like you know solve that it was fine nothing bad happened but I did that I made a dermatology appointment um I made what else did I do yeah I just like got my I don't know I was on the phone on hold a lot a lot of automated voice systems were in my ear today that was pretty much the first half of my day a lot of that kind of stuff I was opening like all my personal like business financial shit all like like paperwork stuff I have this folder I keep everything in I
Starting point is 00:03:46 was like going through that from 2020 you know you know all that stuff you never realize you're gonna have to do until you're on your own in your 20s it just happens it's weird how that is like when I was younger I remember being obsessed with watching my mom do paperwork stuff like she'd sit at the kitchen table pay the bills and like you know I'd like see my parents do that and it was it's just it looks so mature and so I never understood anything like it looks so foreign to me but now I'm an adult I'm like oh hi I'm doing it now myself and I don't know um but I love like when I was younger my mom would like we would learn how to write checks and because nothing was digital then like she taught us how to you know like what does it pay to the order of
Starting point is 00:04:35 and then you write the thing and I learned how to do all that when I was really little um am I too calm right now I don't know it's like nighttime I just have an urge to check my phone right now this is called social media addiction hold on um I just got a good night text um hi thanks for thanks for uh tuning in today I'm totally sidetracked um yeah so I did that this morning. I made avocado toast. It was great. Then guys, this is why I'm not really proud of today. Like, but again, I'm going to be completely honest. I napped again midday for an hour and I don't know what's going on. Like I'm, I don't want to dissect it and look too deep into like why I keep getting tired in the middle of the day, but whatever, you know what? I'm trying
Starting point is 00:05:32 to get back in the swing of things, back in my apartment, back in San Diego. And I'm like, you know, just what I'm not going hard in the paint. Like I thought I would, you know, grind it all day, like no sleep. Well, you know, like what I wanted to do, but I think whatever, you know what? It's probably the lack of exercise in the morning. Cause that usually makes me super energized all day. And I feel like I have to do that tomorrow. Um, I feel like a loser. I told you guys I was going to do this morning and didn't do it. And you know what? Maybe as good as yoga feels, feels like I did it for an hour tonight. It's not, it doesn't like energize you the same way going on a long run will, or like a bike ride or like a hike or something. Like I need to get,
Starting point is 00:06:14 I need, I need to exert my body. It's, it's getting old. Like it's getting real Jacqueline. you're you need to figure it out so uh workout outfit has been set out water bottles already coffee state everything's like ready for the morning and I know I'm gonna do it like I promise you guys I'll do it I've got these creepy so my screensaver on my tv are these like weird it looks like the what Star Wars episode is that where there's those um like worm things coming out with big they look like giant yeah like a giant worm with with really sharp teeth yeah my screensaver is that there's a RV floating in space there's like Saturn aliens it's very strange and it came with
Starting point is 00:07:07 a TV this is one of the options and I don't know whatever it's it's creeping me out because my apartment right now is completely dark except candles and my tv and now my laptop I love how I can just sit and do this podcast wherever I want it's great uh what else did I do today so I woke up from a nap I made a smoothie with coffee in it I do a coffee I do espresso shots I'm over caffeinating that's why I'm tired all that's you know what it's probably it what's new you know um I made so espresso shots protein powder I just use like vanilla um I do half a banana and then I think I did a little almond butter yeah I did and then almond milk and I just like made that for my that was like lunch I guess and then I ran errands and I went to this really
Starting point is 00:07:59 amazing thrift store and got I I was there for a good probably like an hour and a half looking at furniture antiques little tchotchkes stuff for my apartment because I know it's my it's honestly therapy for me because I go in there I don't listen to music I'm not on my phone it's completely like silent and then I'm imagining I'm looking at everything in the store and like imagining where it would fit in my house so I'm like it's very creative and zen for me to do that And that's why I really like, I prefer going to vintage shops, thrift stores, antique shops, because your eyes, like, I don't know, there's so much to look at and there's so much history with each object. And there's this, it's like there's, I don't want to be like woo-woo right now, but it's kind of like there's this energy in these stores that I really like. I think it's probably my old soul or whatever I just like to be around old things and you know
Starting point is 00:09:02 every now and then you'll open a book and it's got like someone had written in it like a dedicate like a not a dedication like a they gifted the book to someone and that's still written in there from like the 40s I just love that stuff so I spent some time there and then I got out of the store and it was dark out I'm pretty sure the sunsets because I was just in Washington the sunrise and the sunset are different here and I feel like it sets way earlier down here am I saying that right it rises so yeah because in Washington the sunrise is at eight right now here it's at six yeah it definitely gets darker earlier so I was like out of the store and I was like what just happened why is it dark uh whatever um this is why it's gonna be the short and sweet podcast I
Starting point is 00:09:48 I don't have much to tell you other than I did a bunch of, you know, personal details type of stuff this morning, phone calls, just like stuff on my computer, you know, that kind of stuff. And then I napped, made a smoothie, went to the thrift stores, ran a couple errands. I had to go to the UPS again. I feel like I'm there all, I'm just always at UPS. um and I came home and I cleaned like I had to clean my kitchen this is the most basic bitch adult type of I don't like to use that word adulting like this is like the most simple day you know not no frills this is what I did uh I don't have anything like here's the thing I'm doing my what I did today thing and then I'm gonna go into probably some sort of
Starting point is 00:10:41 rant. I'll come up with some tangent to go on in about two minutes. Stay with me if you're bored right now. It's coming. Just wait for it. I know it's coming. So by the way, does anyone know Mitch McConnell's Venmo so I can request $2,000? I need to request $2,000 for Mitch McConnell and i can't find his username on venmo so please someone send me a dm let me know um what's going on is he is he some like private account on venmo does he not have a venmo how do i get a hold of him to request two thousand dollars anyways so i came home i cleaned my kitchen how come how come I, okay. What's with wiping the countertops 600 times a day? Like the amount all day long, every time in my kitchen, there's some sort of mess that happens, whether it's like
Starting point is 00:11:45 my coffee grounds, a piece of a, like, you know, the worst thing I hate this. Here's the rant here. Here it comes. I hate onion skin. Like the, the, uh, crispy, the crispy stuff on the edges like that comes off and like garlic skin that's always like flying around in space like you can't get a hold of it just it's floating around the kitchen at all times it's on the floor it's on the counter I'm always like picking that up coffee grounds everywhere you know I have an espresso I have an espresso machine not an espresso an espresso machine and there's like you they don't you don't know this going into it but you're gonna have a lot of little coffee grounds to clean up on your counter because when you're stamping it like when
Starting point is 00:12:32 you're pushing down uh what's it called the portafilter the grinds in the portafilter it kind of like gets all over so I was looking actually I was looking at the thrift store today for some sort of like board I could put down or a little like thing that would be easy to just clean I'm gonna get a really thin cutting board that's what I'm gonna get just like my grandma has those I always like I always like my grandma's cutting boards because she has those like plastic really really thin ones I always use like a wood one but whatever um what was I gonna rant about onion skin just no clean like in general what like wiping counters down all day all day long like all the time I don't care it's not like that big of a deal but I notice I do it
Starting point is 00:13:20 so often uh same with my floors I have a little um I hate sweeping so I have a little what's it called hand vacuum thing what's it called dust bust dust vacuum thing and I just I just zip that around like on the hour just picking up little crumbs because I might floor's white it shows everything so yeah I cleaned my kitchen let's get into what I did next I did yoga um yeah I did that and then I chilled and watched Ozark like kind of a bullshit day I don't know I just feel like my life is so different now just to reflect for two seconds in the past it's like going to the office you know going to the gym I had this like out of my apartment lifestyle and now everything is very simple and I work from home and I don't like, I canceled my gym membership. I want to
Starting point is 00:14:22 change it up next year. Like I've decided that and I'm not going to go right now in California, all the equipment has been put outside. I think it's all outdoor. Gyms are all outdoors unless people are, I honestly shout out to the people that are like, fuck this. We're staying open. We're doing it like normal. Cause I just like, like there's this guy, I feel like, where's he at is it uh Jersey St. Louis he's like out there this gym owner this dude with the beard I don't know his name but every now and then someone will like repost one of his Instagram lives or no his like IGTVs of him showing his gym and I recently watched a video he did a little tour of his gym I should like figure out who he is how can I find this really quick let me look on my phone
Starting point is 00:15:16 don't get distracted on your phone Jacqueline don't get distracted okay um let me see here hold on do-do-do I think it was Andy Frisella Frisella reposted him You guys might know who I'm talking about. I don't see it. Whatever. This guy, he was doing the two overs gym. What I'm getting to is the fact that he has data. He has every single check-in over the entire year, logged, documented, every person's name, their temperature, like symptoms, everything's like there. and they haven't had a covid outbreak people are going in the gym no masks you know living life like normal in this gym and you know what they what he did is he said that the government officials don't have permission to like go in the gym unless they want to work out or whatever so he's happy to take a conversation right out in the front you know he has everything um not boarded up but he put um brown paper across the the windows so you can't see in and then he takes little meetings
Starting point is 00:16:33 in the front and I just think it's I don't know he was like it just the back to what I was saying why did I say that about the government people there's something I was gonna say whatever um the fact that he's had 94,000 check-ins and no COVID outbreaks is like okay so you know what you know like I don't understand it just that's one gym out of thousands of gyms in America but America is the United States can you not say America because that includes South America North like whatever United States um I sound ditzy right now I don't know why I'm gonna drink my LaCroix to help get that to knock it off um I was talking about gyms because I want to change up my gym and I that's what I was going
Starting point is 00:17:27 into I don't want to I don't like the makeshift setup like I went to my gym at one of I go to a gym there's like multiple of so I was in La Jolla at it and there was a tarp a fucking tarp over the gym equipment and I was like I'm out like I walked in I saw a hundred people crammed in this area where they put the equipment outside with a fucking tarp over it I saw it I approached it and I turned right around I was like I'm out of here and I've just figured out like in the beginning of the pandemic I was I hate just saying that even the pandemic I was doing YouTube workouts I was running a lot just trying to like keep it going and then I feel like I keep saying oh yoga yoga you know but I need to sweat guys it's a broken record I keep talking about it I need to
Starting point is 00:18:18 I'm annoying about it right now but I need to get like a hard workout in soon um did I just finish the day the itinerary the itinerary um um is this interesting I always go back to that like am I fucking boring I don't know you guys I told you I think yesterday I was like the one thing I don't do to myself I don't even think about it and I think this is a healthy practice is question my content question if this is good enough question if it's worth people's time because like that'll drive me crazy if I think if I overthink every episode and go oh you got to re-record it that was boring or oh that was a you don't have anything to talk about that sucked Like it, I, there's no point to this because the whole, the whole idea for this show, I just assume maybe a couple of you are new today, is that I, I have struggled in the past with like setting my mind to a goal and seeing it through and accomplishing it.
Starting point is 00:19:26 And I feel like this doing it seven days a week thing is, you know, being on a podcast every day is forcing me to show up every single day. No, like no excuses. I hate that shit. But it's like, it's like the whole 1% each day thing where you're not, because my issue in the past, back to my goal setting issues, and it was, I was overwhelmed by the outcome. I saw the outcome, like what I wanted and I would get paralyzed by I couldn't start because I was so overwhelmed by how complicated and how long that's going to take me to get that thing that final outcome where now I'm like no there is no outcome you just get on your microphone every day and you talk and whatever like there isn't because if I have this overarching goal like I want to do this x y and z
Starting point is 00:20:21 blah blah thing and I want to get picked up by this whatever like a fucking you know media company or something like if I'm just grinding for that that just feels weird I don't know how else to say it like I don't it's good to have goals like that I think a lot of people are driven by those things to like grow their brand and make themselves turn themselves into some you know nationally known name and fucking podcast on the top charts, but that's cool. I'm just trying to I'm working on the personal, um, the discipline, the discipline of doing something every day and never breaking the chain and staying consistent. And it's good for me. And it's also a great way for me to solidify my ideas and that I'm not attached to. Don't get me. Don't, don't, don't
Starting point is 00:21:12 think I'm like sitting here stuck in my ways speaking my mind and just saying like you know I have all these opinions and this is how I think and this is who I am like it's it's subject subject to change you know I'm I'm not attached to my opinions um but it's a great way for me to work things out in my head and kind of like I don't know just get closer to myself and it's been a hard year just being you know you know it's been a hard year it's fucking boring um I didn't talk much this year and I realized that I I have my own place um you know I was I lost my job I had all these like co-workers activities things going on and then I went from 100 to zero slipped into some depression pretty bad actually I've talked about it a lot on the
Starting point is 00:22:01 show um and then it kind of turned around mid-year and you know I feel like 100% better honestly I've never felt more I guess at peace with myself alone and I think that was the issue at the beginning I realized I was like seeking out like I was seeking people and activities and excursions and like all these outward things these external things for happiness and I when I was isolated on my own you know quarantine everything's fucking shut down there's like no one guys remember when there's like no one on the freeway there was no one on the street like no cars that was a weird time I realized that when I was alone I wasn't just happy with myself and that's something that I've committed on committed to like working on and figuring out this year and I boiled I think
Starting point is 00:22:53 the epiphany I want to repeat it I mean guys if I talk to you every day I'm gonna repeat shit 20 like every day just it is what it is I think the epiphany I had that I worked out actually on the podcast it came to me on this couch I was doing a late night podcast I remember this moment I realized that the reason for my personal um like self-esteem doubt issues depression um was because I just sit and stew and overthink everything I over analyze everything I'm highly I guess I don't be like oh I'm a highly intellectual person like I'm I'm very I'm a deep thinker that's like in my natural I guess state I like to think about I like to think about things from every fucking angle top to bottom every like I'll go I'll work things out in my
Starting point is 00:23:57 head for I'll just sit and think I like that shit I don't know it's just who I am whatever I'll own it it's not a bad thing it's just what who I am but I realized that for a lot of the things I wanted to do in life if I sit and overthink it and if I sit and overthink and and pick myself apart because that's what I basically did for most of my I'd say in teens and 20s so far I never get anywhere and I just hate myself I'm just a bitch to myself and it doesn't it's like not helpful it doesn't like there's no use for that so basically I went oh just don't do that okay like literally I don't have I told my I was talking to my therapist about this I was like it's wild when I say I don't have negative thoughts about myself like any like
Starting point is 00:24:49 I think it's healthy to have a compass and have some sort of like David Goggins type person inside of you, who's going to whip your ass into shape and like get you, you know, on the right trajectory, moving forward, grinding, going hard, whatever it is you want to do with your life. I think that's positive. But when you're sitting there looking at every fucking eyelash going, why is it, why aren't they longer than like, that's a specific example. Like I wasn't doing that, but when you're just sitting there and doubting like your existence and like your you have no you don't like yourself you don't think you're in like I literally thought for the longest time this is deep but I just felt like
Starting point is 00:25:32 this misunderstood alien like I didn't and it's probably because I haven't found my people that get me yet I don't feel like I have that solid which sucks but you know what I'm not down about I'm just like oh well Jacqueline that's whatever you know that's a choice you didn't put yourself out there you didn't make friends like you wanted to this year and it's kind of hard but it easily you guys it's not nothing is that hard like I had it in my head I made all these justifications oh there's a pandemic I don't want to get COVID like fucking dumb shit like that but um anyways I what was I going on about isolation uh fucking I don't know you guys get it there's the tangent I told you I'd do five minutes ago um I got this candle I'm working on trying to keep lit
Starting point is 00:26:29 the whole time like how do I say this this candle is finicky the wick so it'll it'll burn for like an hour and then go out and then I don't know I'll like I'll like pour the wax around to like give it a better well to burn in it'll still go out now in an hour and I think it's because there's crystals in it they're like healing crystals I don't know my sister got it for me for Christmas it's really nice oh man the fucking LaCroix burps the LaCroix burps here they come and I'm laying down I'm officially horizontal on my own show not giving a fuck um but yeah these uh little crystals I think are kind of getting getting close to the wick and making it burn out uh random information let's talk about what's going on the world back to
Starting point is 00:27:18 Mitch McConnell what the fuck's happening with Congress there's like some sort of fuckery with his new bill um people are just I don't know I'm literally talking and scrolling and scramming this is unreal you know what I'll say this so back to what's going on with um stimulus shit like I just I don't know I could just I could preach this forever I feel like it's all fucked you know everything's fucked but the lesson or like the thing to keep in mind is you shouldn't you should strive in life to not be in the position where your like ability to make it another month is rely relies on getting a stimulus check like and I know a lot of that is on like some people it you know lost their businesses they lost their jobs they you know and they can't help
Starting point is 00:28:27 it so I completely get that but I'm just saying in general like next time you know how do you I don't know that's kind of a maybe a fucked up thing to say but because some people like I think of a lot of restaurants and small businesses that got you know shut down like that's kind of hard to avoid like you can't help it but what are your reserves like what are your investments like like have you put your money in have you diversified your income to the point where you're not just relying on your income from your business you know how can you what can you do what can you learn read research take a class on whatever to figure out how to you know amplify your income in other areas than that one little business you relied on so I don't know it's just something to think
Starting point is 00:29:16 about I think a lot of um the financial advisors out there would say some shit like that I don't know I'm not one I'm not a pro at this I'm still learning I told you guys I'm really into the stock market right now I'm really into learning about investing and how that all works I just like the psychology aspect of it um you you kind of have to be you kind of have to be a how do I say what's the mindset of like investing in the stock market like you just have to be calm or like unfazed when you're down or you know if it's a red day like you have to be um I don't have and I think I have a really good relationship with money I kind of always have like I don't I see it as energy I see it I don't have anxiety around it I just like always I have an abundance mindset you know
Starting point is 00:30:08 like all those like gurus out there just abundance everywhere optimism glass half full like it's everything is possible all your dreams can come true like I have a ridiculous amount of that in my head because I think everything you think will manifest into reality at some point if you're and it's just like what it is I didn't like literally I I dreamed about what I have right now like when I think about it I envisioned I don't necessarily think the podcast was something that's what's weird the one passion I have that's like die hard can't live without love everything about it wasn't something I premeditated on or dreamed about or envisioned one day but um where was I going with this was it how I talk about the stock market envisioning oh money like
Starting point is 00:31:03 I don't know I just have this like good relationship with it and like I don't have I don't freak out about it at all and I think I I always know that I'm like how do I say this I was around someone one time who had a really positive impact on me and a really negative impact on me. But one of the things he said was he couldn't figure out why he's like, yeah, you know, my dad, he'll spend four hours trying to save $12 and I'll be on the phone trying to get his money back for 12 hours. He's like, I'm better at figuring out ways to make more money than figuring out ways to try to get a few dollars back like just get creative and how how can you make more you know I'm better
Starting point is 00:31:52 like get I feel like some people are like that you're just really good at finding ways to make more of it and I like that mindset because it's all about moving the needle forward instead of I don't know sometimes you got to make that stupid phone call to you know I didn't mean to be like when you subscribe to some app that you're like I didn't meant I didn't mean to subscribe for 12 months like can I get my money back like sometimes they'll do like a month or two if you're lucky they'll do all of it but like I think I did that with headspace no it wasn't headspace um one of those kind of apps what was it they're like annual you're gonna resubscribe you know it was like 130 or something for the next year I was like what did I do what it what was this
Starting point is 00:32:37 so of course I'm calling for that you know that's like a dumb thing but anyways um but the energy thing going back to now this is a money talk what am I doing I'm gonna I just keep announcing when I drink my LaCroix I'm looking at the clock it's you know getting late I need to wrap this up but money's a tool money's energy I think of it like the it literally like think about life and all the places you go all the people you'll see all the things you'll do it comes down to the dollar sign it comes down to money don't deny that don't think oh no it doesn't no it fucking does and the like your life experience it just depends what you want it
Starting point is 00:33:27 depends what you're comfortable with it depends if you're what your dreams are what you what you envision for your life to look like but that energy you like the more energy you have the more you can do the more people you can help the more places you can go the more things like whatever it is that you want like and that's why I say money's energy energy because it's just like flowing through everything and everyone and it interconnects everything like it's just like duh you know it's pretty obvious but um yeah I've told my I think I have a podcast on here I think I talked I said called it young entrepreneurship and I told the story of how my dad would give us allowance every week for doing chores or whatever and on Fridays we would
Starting point is 00:34:17 get our money he'd like hand it to us in in the car the fucking van and we drove a van it was great and he'd hand over our ten dollars and then we'd go to walmart go to walmart he's he we called him the good thai man he would go to that like we'd go to the gas station whenever he filled up he'd always get us candy bars and like klondike bars and shit and like mountain dew like you know my mom like never liked i don't feel like she wanted us to eat stuff like that but whatever i maybe she did like it was just his thing but then so anyways on Fridays we after school we go to Walmart and walk around and I remember this so vividly I never spent my money ever and I watched my sister buy Barbies Barbie clothes Barbie stuff my brother
Starting point is 00:35:06 was buying Hot Wheels GI Joes Tonka trucks like all that kind of shit and and this is like a weird flex maybe or like a weird brag but it's just what it is I feel like this is this like a really like memorable thing or something that kind of was like the platform of I don't know just like it was a what is called a kind of gives you some insight into like how I am or who I am and like how I think about stuff but I saved all my money and then one day I saw the aisle where they have lock boxes and safes. And I bought, I think it was like 10 bucks. Probably was. It had to be, or I may have bought it for more. It wasn't, it wasn't more than $20. It was this little black safe with a key. It didn't have a little passcode or anything fancy. It was just a little, like a
Starting point is 00:36:03 tiny little metal box, black. And I took that shit home, took that box home and stacked my bills up that I had collected and I shut it and I just like felt really good about that I don't know how else to say it I was just like obsessed with collecting bills and just stacking it like a little drug I was like a little drug dealer I was a little kid with all my cash just fucking stacked up and I don't know I just like got it I understood how you want more of that than less of that and you feel a sense of like ease when you have it and that's good because when you don't have it you're full of anxiety and fear and stress and you're just like everything's upside down and you know I never wanted to have that I never and you know I'm not saying my life
Starting point is 00:36:55 has been like I've been balling out my whole fucking life that's definitely not the case um I know they're I think it's easy through social media to assume people have it super good but you have to remember like it's not like everything you see is just a moment it's just a picture it's just a whatever and you might see oh she's got her apartment it's all fancy and cute well I earned this shit I worked my ass off like I didn't just like get this you know I have to say no I'm not so I'm like I don't like get a check every month from you know my parents or whatever it's not like that um but I've definitely had my struggles I haven't been you know why is this now the financial podcast that money podcast whatever do you guys talk about it with your parents or
Starting point is 00:37:47 are you super open about your financial stuff do you like freak out about it oh god like let me know this do you check your accounts like every day or do you avoid it like do you actually know at all times like what you have what your debt is like everything because I I'm I think that's something something that I recognize I recognize keeps me super it's like a way to be super it's kind of like looking in the mirror and being honest with yourself and having that like connection with yourself and self like you're not hiding from anything and I feel like people that if you don't check your accounts and really or just like avoid it because you're scared like that's probably not good I feel like you gotta face it and I feel like that's healthy a healthy
Starting point is 00:38:44 way to like it's all about awareness you got to have awareness and I don't know it's not that easy for some people sometimes I get it you know I like to face that shit I love when I pay a bill and I see like the negative x y and z amount and I go like I don't know I just like that I just feel it kind of makes me feel like ah that sucks the money went away but I feel good about this like I'm moving forward in life like I just paid off something the other day and I was like yeah I'm just like I'm accomplishing life I'm moving one step forward I had to get past this payment and I did it and I'm alive and it's not the end of the world but it's done and I feel good that monkey that my mom always says that monkeys get that monkey off your back get that
Starting point is 00:39:33 monkey off your back I'm like monkeys off my back I don't have to think about it anymore that's the whole like freedom shit the financial freedom shit they talk about get those monkeys off your back yeah read some Dave Ramsey go read some fucking Tony Robbins I think my dad gave me that book when I was like 18 Tony Robbins money I think it's just called money and I learned all about you know Roth's opening your retirement account and shit because again it's like the cliche that this is shit they don't teach you in school and I think a lot of people get in a position where they're on their own now out of college and their first jobs and everything's a first-time experience and you just spent four years studying you know
Starting point is 00:40:19 what is that there's literally a degree at my college about golf course grass I swear to god what is that degree hold on golf course grass degree I think it's like something with golf course why am I looking this up right now I should know um degree something along the lines of that you like I don't know people that do that grass work I don't know if I don't even know if it's a college degree it's just like a thing of course I don't know whatever um now I lost my train of thought again it's late I need to end this um oh yeah you you'll spend four years learning about grass and then you come out and it's like oh I don't know anything about how the world works
Starting point is 00:41:16 and how money works and how investing works and how taxes work and how paying bills works and all like you know you figure everything out one step at a time which is there's nothing wrong with that it's just kind of unfortunate I feel like a lot of a lot of things can be taught earlier on and you know some people have I think it's great like if you had parents that kind of held your or like showed you what they were up to with their financial stuff when they when you were younger and kind of expose you to it so you had some sort of kind of awareness like I always knew oh this is turbo tax it's April I think it used to be a CD my parents put in the computer to do their taxes I'm pretty sure so I like knew about taxes my parents like my mom every time we it was like a
Starting point is 00:42:02 monthly thing she had bill like literally just like envelopes bill shit all over the floor she'd like have a throwaway pile on the floor and the table had the like checks and the pens and the you know and I was around that so I think that's you know I'm probably lucky in that way I had some sort of like awareness of what's going on but there's so many details so much to know and that's just one like anything financial is like well it's part of everything but I mean there's so much other shit to learn about this is where I'm gonna go deep think like think about science think about people that are studying the cores of the earth trying to figure out what's in the center of the earth like how deep each layer is there's so much to know about that right think about heart surgeons
Starting point is 00:42:55 or brain surgeons the specific details all of the technical terms the technical procedures all that to learn about that I'm looking at my candle how to fucking make a candle I mean there's so many details there I mean I'm looking at my laptop the amount like so many little pieces and each of those pieces was in a factory at one point getting built they're so tiny but they were like do you ever trip out about this like sometimes I'll be in a bathroom a public bathroom and I'll look at the dispenser like the toilet paper dispenser or the like whatever paper towel thing or and I'm like wait so this little piece of plastic the little turning wheel thing I mean like how many different companies make this type of product
Starting point is 00:43:51 and holy shit there are millions of these in the world it trips me out I'm like ah there's just so much shit there's so many things in the world it's like and then I then out let's trip out even more I'm literally sober just on my couch maybe it's these alien worms on my tv that are making me do this trippy stuff right now but like I'm looking at a leaf over there on my bird of paradise palm when you zoom in that shit you got a nucleus you got a mitochondria you've got a cell wall you've got a fucking what's what are the other parts of a cell you have so many little things and within those things there's atoms fuck and then i think of air dude i need to go to bed you get where i'm going with that there's just so much to learn
Starting point is 00:44:43 i think i don't know just give yourself a crash course something i like to do is uh i'm big on watching youtube videos and taking notes or i'll take notes during podcasts sometimes but I think and I had I had master class uh subscription to that for a year I just feel like with anything you learn you really have to go in for I don't know like maybe like three or four months where that's like your everyday thing you're like you're learning about that one thing it's kind of like going to college like you have a course you do it for a semester it's just the best way to learn and the more you see here's my issue and this is why I like picking specific things like hey I'm on a podcast this is my podcast I do this podcast thing like I
Starting point is 00:45:36 that's my thing right so I'm sticking to it uh I've recently picked up yoga again I'm like I do yoga I'm not gonna get I'm not gonna this is my issue I feel like I've been half pregnant on 10 different things and I never picked anything and I never really got anywhere because of it and I have all these curiosities and interests and you know I'm so I like I love life I love energy and people and things and stuff happening and new tech and new cool shit happening in the world and I'm like reading about this learning about that starting this going on a fucking sailboat I'm on a fucking um jet ski or whatever like here I am on a mountain doing a hike and now I'm in a car and I'm going off to a comedy show and I'm like like there's just so much
Starting point is 00:46:24 shit in the world to do and to experience and I realized like you feel I feel person this is my personal um feeling I feel a sense of fulfillment in my life and happiness from being just honing in on specific things and I'll just go into this speaking of money and and what I was up to this year learning about the stock market I like that I can have a conversation about it now and I can use the terminology and I know everything about like not everything but I know a lot about it where a year ago I couldn't I was I was like a dumbass I didn't know anything I didn't understand it I had a general idea of how it worked but it feels good when you go hard on something for you know a few months to a year whatever it is and you really understand it because
Starting point is 00:47:14 you know another thing I preach is kind of related is with the influence the constant inundation of information and people you're following and their lifestyles and what they're up to what they're learning about what they're posting you get pulled in so many different directions mentally and I think it sucks people away from themselves and their own intuition their own personal like desires because they're just looking at someone else doing it and they don't actually know what they want for themselves so I'm all about go in listen to yourself follow yourself listen to your own intuition and like feel good about that like own yourself or like boss the fuck up like I feel like for the longest time I I've just been zombied out like following
Starting point is 00:48:09 and admiring people from a distance I don't even fucking know on the internet and I'm like that's how it works like they need my eyeballs for their paycheck like they need my attention for which is what it is but it's kind of like taking your power back and going like I'm gonna be my own boss be my own influencer like I'm influencing myself I'm making myself like I said yesterday with what Logan Paul posted he's becoming someone he loves like in order for me to really feel solid in who I am I gotta ignore and I gotta like like what is that what's it called like shut out the noise and stop looking at it every day and watching it because it's like I know everything about how to be like think about just typical influencer stuff like you know how to wear an
Starting point is 00:49:05 outfit correctly fucking like how to do a morning routine I talk about this all the time I do a morning routine how to have an exercise plan and I know every fucking diet there is I can tell you everything about you know the best travel spots and the most scenic drives and the most like the best brands to buy and fucking um the snacks to eat that are like healthy and cool and you can find them at whole foods like I know all that shit I know everything about um I don't I'm not saying I know everything I'm just generalizing but I I've seen it all like I know every so to keep looking at it every day it's like nothing is new or interesting to me anymore it's it's honestly, I don't know if that kind of influencer content will fade, but I don't know. It's helpful.
Starting point is 00:49:58 Like it helped me because I have all these, you know, I guess tools in my toolbox about how to have a good night's sleep. I know all about sleep and I've listened to so many fucking podcasts about sleep and fucking books and fucking influencers talking about sleep. And it's like, I have all these things. So it's helpful, but at some point you have to be real with yourself and kind of cut it off and like say, okay, I've maxed out. I got all I want. I got all I needed. I have what I have, you know, I got what I needed. Go forward in life now. Quit looking at that shit. You don't, it's not interesting. You don't need it anymore. So that's probably what growing up is all about. Is that how people get set in their ways? Am I getting set in my ways
Starting point is 00:50:44 by thinking like that you gotta set a fucking boundary though you really just have to say Jacqueline if you see someone pour hot water over a fucking lemon at 5 a.m mute them I don't necessarily unfollow people because like look I support that if you if you know if you show your lifestyle in your morning routine like and that's your part of your job because you're a health and fitness influencer like I support you but I just I just quietly mute you because it doesn't add anything to my life anymore okay there you go there's the rant of the day or that's the final ending how did this audio sound I'm horizontal sexy time of Jacqueline come to a close I lied to you guys I said I'm gonna work out this morning go hard like
Starting point is 00:51:45 I wanted to didn't do that well I didn't lie to you I just didn't do it and then I told you guys I was gonna record this in the morning so it would be a better vibe and I'd have people watching to do because I usually look outside of my neighbors and yeah big stretch I look like a banana arms above my head all right I need I need to wash my face put on my fucking Vaseline you guys know I'm obsessed with finishing my skincare with um Vaseline all over my face and don't knock it you try it my skin it's not great right now um I just feel like I've been in this the weather I was just saying maybe I don't know probably the junk I was eating too but um it's like you wake up when you have that Vaseline on your face you think of you would think it get it would get all
Starting point is 00:52:43 over your pillow and be disgusting but you don't really put a ton on it doesn't it doesn't get anywhere and I don't like so the reason I prefer Vaseline to oils to finish my skincare because usually I do like a rosehip what's it called rosehip oil yeah I usually do rosehip oil to finalize my to like seal in my skincare but I noticed like I wake up and I have I'm blind this the the oil seeps into my eyes really bad and it's just kind of like slimy I don't know it's great it's great to put oil on your face but I like Vaseline because it doesn't move all right episode 118 coming to a close um if you're new if you like the show head over to the Apple podcast app and subscribe write me a review helps people find out about the show
