What's up, guys? It's episode 122. Happy Sunday. Welcome back to the show.
hey guys what's up it's Jacqueline welcome back to the show got a situation going on
right now. I need to drown out my neighbors. They're having sex right now. Sunday night,
you know, good for them, but I got to, you know, in honor of Sunday, here we go. We're going to
drown them out. Shut the fuck. No, I won't yell at them. I am. I'm supportive of that. Whatever.
You know, they fought a lot during quarantine and I'm happy they're having a good new year.
Um, but that's the situation. I just ate a beef salad for dinner, literally put some ground beef
over, over bed of greens and call that dinner. I'm drinking a limoncello LaCroix and I bitched
about this one a couple of days ago. Uh, I said it tasted like a heavy lemon, like a warm lemon,
like a candle. It wasn't a refreshing lemon, but I don't know. I'm liking it tonight. Um,
Sunday, we're going to talk about what I did today, but first, if you're new,
go ahead and hit that subscribe button subscribe and head over to patreon.com slash tjms
to check out my extra content get access to my exclusive patreon only content
um I've got a lot of stuff coming out this year for that so go check it out that's patreon.com
slash tjms all right um yeah that's the situation I don't know you know what you never know what
you're going to get sometimes with neighbors and people living around you I got to talk about
something real quick I'm a little bit I've so two of my neighbors I'm concerned about their mental
health and just by the way they look when they go to their cars every day they just look sad and
angry and I never see people go over to their house and or their apartment I never I just feel
bad for them they don't look well and I'm trying to like catch them at times like whenever I see
this one lady I'm trying to like talk to her as much as I can just like because she's not very
positive every time I talk to her it's like some uh you know I lost my job last year and you know
whatever it is like she'll just moan and bitch about her life and it's really sad so I don't
know that's kind of this current situation also my school teacher neighbor I'm starting to think
it's cute when I'm peeing and she's peeing oh god have I talked about this before our bathrooms are
against like the wall is the same for our bathrooms and literally it's like I know what
time she shits I know what time she washes her dog what day of the week when she's in the shower
with her dog like but when she talks to her dog I'm starting to think it's cute um she has this
23 year old Chihuahua. I think he's a 23 year old. He's so old. Maybe he's 18. He's on his way out.
It's a little blind Chihuahua. She talks to him. I'm sorry. I think it's cute. I heard her today
do it. And I was like, Oh, you know, at least she has someone to talk to. But, um, she retired last
year actually. Cause of, you know, she's teaching like second graders, I think. And, uh, she was
doing zoom classes and then she's like, I've had it. This is my last year I'm doing it. But, um,
yeah what are your neighbors like do you guys live in apartments do you guys live in houses
is anyone buying a house in their 20s who's doing that did anyone think they were gonna buy a house
like I'm trying to set myself back in high school I honestly had the number 30 in my head for a long
time like that's when I'll try to get married or like that's when I'll like try to settle down
or not even try just like I think it'll happen around then like my 20s is all about
frolicking and experiencing and having fun and doing a podcast in my little apartment
on my own like just doing my little shit uh but yeah I never really I don't envision even buying
a house in fact I was driving down so I'll tell you about my day when I went on a hike again today
I was driving around looking at all these big houses by the the water and I'm like
I don't know if I was intimidated I was like I don't know if I want this much house
I don't know I don't think I'm there yet mentally I think it changes once you're like you know
if you're married with someone with kids and then it's like you need that space you need that house
and honestly I I need I need land for my animals like I am okay so I don't know if I'm gonna stay
in this apartment because I want a place for I want to have it I want to have a yard a yard I
really want space for a dog or just like a backyard I want some grass because I live closer in the
city now and uh it's not ideal but I definitely in the future I want to have some property it's
a fucking property I want to pitch up a fucking uh barn pitch a pitch a barn build a barn I don't
know I like the idea of just having land but whatever not now uh let's get into my day
uh day two didn't wake up with my phone this wasn't even a resolution or a goal I just haven't
I've been putting my phone in the living room and then it's not in my room at all because what's
happened to me and I never noticed this was a bad habit I just thought oh this is the this is the
way of life for me you know you'll wake up you'll roll around for an hour with your phone like
literally that's what I've done all of 2020 and that's not the old me didn't do that though
like I remember for a few years I would purposely keep my phone away like I knew better but I got
sucked into that last year and um I realized that my day I realized that my day doesn't start
as quickly as I want it to because I'm like stalling whatever um but yeah I woke up in a
great mood again. I talked to you guys yesterday. I had like the happiest wake up yesterday. I woke
up. I was like, dude, this is pure bliss. This is the meaning of life. I'm just happy. I'm not even
doing anything. I'm happy. That's great. So I had the same kind of, um, wake up today. Um, um, I
went, so I knew I wanted, it's Sunday. I was like, I'm going to go hike before anyone else goes up
that hill because it's too crowded. If I go midday, it's going to be too crowded. I try to
get up. Honestly, inner me, inner like goals me, inner like champion, inner David Goggins,
Jacqueline wanted to wake up at five and do like our early morning hike. Didn't happen. I think
it went around eight or nine, which is decent. So I made coffee. I just like did shit around my
apartment a little bit and then I drove up there and I feel like I did something before oh there
was a crash there was gridlock like terrible traffic I hadn't seen that since 2019 like I
I didn't see traffic in 2020 let's be honest like it wasn't a thing 2019 traffic it was back bitch
I mean this old lady fucking rammed her car I'm sounding so offensive this poor little old lady
crashed her car not bad um into the side of the the freeway like the what's that thing called the
barrier and I was stopped for I don't know a good 20 minutes stance I'm like looking out on the left
at the ocean which is beautiful at least out of view looking out at the fucking mountain I'm about
to climb it's not even it's Torrey Pines it's not a big mountain and um I was like all right I'm
I'm this close but I have to wait so whatever it took like 20 minutes to get through that I saw
as I passed there was a fire truck and uh you know police and everything and she's going on
a stretcher and I was like thank god she's moving she looks happy and not happy fuck she looks
mobile alive uh not broken not uh dead so that's good and I don't know that's how
my hike started what am I fucking saying um where did I park why is this interesting um
so when I go on this hike I like to park in the neighborhoods around it and then hike it hike
this is fucking annoying these details are so not important who gives a fuck where I parked my car
basically I'm saying I don't mess with the parking lots around this hiking area I don't mess with
the side of the road none of that shit I've got these special spots that I don't like I used to
live up there I know where to park to like not get into all that bullshit because it's so you know
it's just a tourist attraction it's honestly that's what Torrey Pines is it's like a come
to San Diego and you're here for a week and go on a hike it's like everyone goes there but um
I realized that as I was walking to go climb what guys Jesus I was like wait I got here early
there's tons of parking spots closer I didn't need to walk two miles to fucking go because I
basically walk a good mile or so before I actually start hiking does that make sense okay um waves
are fucking huge today I don't know anything about it I just know the waves are bigger than
I've ever seen and tonight I was watching the Fox 5 San Diego it was on TV after the football games
and um they were talking about how big the waves are and it's a thing I know that's a thing in the
winter they get big in the winter um when I was out in Hawaii I haven't told this story before
do you guys want to hear a Hawaii story real quick my day wasn't that interesting I'll just
segue right here so my mom my brother and I I don't know why my sister couldn't come probably
she used to row in college like she's a collegiate athlete so she had always had
obligations with her rowing team but I think that's why she wasn't there anyways my mom my
brother and I went to Hawaii and decided we wanted to surf because we hadn't surfed before
and we went up we took a long ass drive it's not even that long it's Hawaii it's tiny I mean we
were on Oahu so I don't know the main the main island is that the main one whatever um got our
little convertible Mustang rental car I thought we were so cool and we drove up to the north shore
and we rented some boards we're like we're gonna go surfing today all right and it's like I don't
know I don't know how big the swells are I don't really know the terminology of surfing that's one
thing I'd like before I I feel like at some point I'm gonna become a surfer babe I don't know maybe
maybe not but I need to know about it if I'm gonna live here it's like living in we're back where I'm
from in Washington understanding like farming terms like how they till the soil or whatever
the like I don't actually even know but like stuff about farming or logging it's like that's not even
a sport but here I feel like I need to understand waves and surfing but whatever I'm looking out
there I'm like oh yeah we can do this so I chickened out um I was like there's no way in
hell I'm going out there the waves are fucking huge it's the north shore of Oahu that's where
they do the competitions like that's where the big ass waves go or big uh surfer the best surfers
in the world compete up there and I watched my mom and my brother go out there and it was such
a joke the waves are huge they couldn't do they were like just paddling they were getting sucked
out it was bad there was no one there I think there was one maybe like one guy uh on the beach
by me where I was like just laying out and a turtle there was a fucking 500 pound turtle next
me. And we were witnessing my mom, my brother get sucked out to sea. And that was our first
surfing experience together. Anyways, long story short, they came back in, we got scolded, not
really scolded, but told by a local that, yeah, you might want to go to Waikiki Beach. You might
want to turn around, get in your car, go to Waikiki Beach, you know, get on the bunny slopes.
It's like going on a black diamond and skiing or snowboarding. It's like, we started on the black
diamond, the triple black diamond. We needed to start on the bunny slopes in Waikiki beach. So
I ended up catching some waves on Waikiki. I can't say that anymore. Um, I was down to surf
out there. It was, it was crazy. Cause from our hotel, you could see how shallow and like simple
those waves were. And I was like, I got this shit. There's so many tours out there. So many people
surfing. I was like, this is a cakewalk. So, I mean, cause you can go out like, I dunno,
know a football field length up to your waist it's like you I don't know like you can go way out
and catch a bunch of waves and it's just easy so I popped up a few times the feeling of catching
a wave though is something you can't like once you do it you know what it is but unless you don't
know what it is unless you do it is that what I'm trying to say like you have to catch one to know
and I caught one and now I know do I need to go surfing anymore probably not uh to to honestly
the only reason so I've already told you guys I don't do shit to impress boys anymore like on
dates like oh yeah I'll go surfing that sounds fun or like I'll do sir I'll I'll try to be like
you and be a surfer like fuck that I don't I I I'm not gonna try to like change because
or whatever get into a new hobby because of fucking boys like I used to when I was younger but
um I just like the aesthetic you know California I got a surfboard I'm wearing a wetsuit I'm out
there I'm in the it's like early morning back where I used to live there's so many like early
morning surfers and it's just like a pre-work thing they I swear to god it's like going to
the gym except they're all on their boards it's really cool so yeah why was I talking about
surfing? Oh, the waves. Huge today in San Diego. I'm going to take a drink of my limoncello.
How was your Sunday? What did you do? Did anyone go surfing? I don't know. I didn't. Well, okay.
So, Jacqueline, don't get on your phone. I kind of want to do this for the entertainment.
it. Damn it. I feel like, all right, this is the segue music. My neighbors, I think they're done,
which is fabulous. Okay. So TMI, sorry, mom. Um, but you know, you never know. I live under
people, so I hear it. It's, uh, it's kind of annoying sometimes, or what would I say about
people having sex it's just like awkward not I don't know I don't want to say awkward it's just
like you just get like I see them and then I hear them fucking and I'm like I just don't first of
all figure I don't know why they are together um he's such an asshole to her and I hear it
all the time so I don't know whatever um I'll pray for them so I went hiking it was great it
wasn't busy I think I walked like 14,000 steps today which is really good for me um hiked hard
like strong my glutes are engaged the whole time I was gripping the ground with my toes and yes I
did get in the ocean beforehand if you're a new listener I talked about my technique when I hike
it's called dip your toes in the ocean get your fucking tennis shoes soaked get them soaked I went
up almost to my waist I'll be honest I had my half of my no I'll say knees uh thighs my thighs down
were soaked before my hike because I like first of all you don't need to do your legs that was
extra of me like that was honestly because the waves are so huge I didn't gauge how far it was
gonna come in and I was just standing there there's like people around and their RVs parked
I'm like whatever hi they're like what they're probably like what the fuck is this girl doing
and then I remembered no one is looking at you no one is even thinking about you that's the problem
with a lot of people out there including yourself if you're listening this you probably have dealt
in at some level with this in your life before where you're like you're embarrassed you think
people are looking at you and concerned about you they're not everyone's thinking about themselves
and once you figure that out you can be a little free little bird in this world and not give a
shit if you're standing way steep in water no one gives a fuck no one's even looking at you
whatever but I get my feet soaked because when I'm on the trail my shoes like my feet like stick
better this sounds disgusting but it's just what it is they like grip better to my shoe and that's
why I do it so you know I went up that hill that mountain with wet shoes and it was great it's not
like you heard it when I was walking I wasn't that annoying person with like fart noises going up
the fucking mountain. But, uh, after that, got my car, I went home. I honestly did a lot of
chilling today and watching football. It's Sunday. What else do you do? Um, you know,
that was what I did, uh, to relax. And I was so tired after that hike. I honestly came home. I
was going to nap in my car. It got to the point where I was like, I don't think I can walk inside.
I was that tired and um here's the issue I didn't have breakfast beforehand I think I was low I was
malnourished or whatever so as soon as I ate I perked back up I was like duh and then I made
coffee and then I um I don't know just started like watching football laying around okay guys
I think that lady at Starbucks um put a little seed in my head and now I feel obnoxious with
taking photos like I told a story a couple days ago first of the year I'm in Starbucks this is
the hike I did no was it second Saturday right this woman's like are you a model and I'm like
you know masked up in Starbucks messy bun no like I'm just standing there and so I think that
fucking situation went to my head a few days ago and now I just can't stop taking pictures but
Here's the thing. I never whip out my camera and take actual photos with like a normal camera.
I only use my iPhone and I take these bullshit selfies that are like low quality, like not
there. It's not the same vibe is like you like behind a camera and you're posing and it's like
a thing. But, um, I don't know. I feel obnoxious honestly on Instagram, but cause I just, I've
been posting a lot, but as an influencer, or I don't want to call myself that, as a podcast host,
I got to stay relevant, right? Is that what the pros would say? Jacqueline, you got to post
every day. Gary Vee would say that. He always preaches like post 40 times a day. Everyone
needs 62 Instagram stories a day, 40 posts on their page. Don't care if people are annoyed by
it. They won't follow, like the people that will follow you will like it. Who cares? Like he always
preaches like do more uh that's not why I'm doing it honestly I'm just trying to like drown out the
bullshit pics and then like put better ones on and uh try I'm trying to pop off a little bit this
year I don't know that woman she put something in my head I'm like you know what maybe I should try
it maybe I should get behind a camera and take it seriously I don't know that's the issue when
I've been approached like I went to a casting one time I was approached uh by one of the
up, it was up at, um, up in Washington. I got DM by a lady who was like, she's really nice.
She owned a modeling agency. She's like, Hey, you know, let's go and, you know, take some pics and
like see you in person, all that stuff. And it didn't end up working out for whatever reason.
Like they didn't have business for me or however that works. I don't know. Um, but it was flattering.
I never took it seriously though. So the whole point of me saying this is like, maybe I should,
you know it's not what people do they're like oh I've been approached this is a thing people say
it you should do it for real but I don't know it's not my heart like it like I just like podcasting
I don't know about the whole modeling stuff uh whatever so that's kind of the latest I took
pics today uh because I got new cute stuff in my kitchen I have this new lemon basket it's really
cute. I have this new like apron. Actually I've had it. I just pulled it out today though.
I don't know. I just like having fun, feeling cute. I put my hair in pigtails. So I did that.
And then, and then shit hit the fan hard tonight. I'm looking around. I'm like, oh shit. I got,
I'm swearing a lot today. I'm swearing a lot on this podcast. I don't usually swear this much.
And it's Sunday. This is the Lord's day. How dare I? I'm cracking my back. Okay. So
shit hit the fan around 5 30 I'm like okay I got this mattress to install this like mattress
topper thing this giant foam Tempur-Pedic thing I gotta unpackage that I committed I said today
I'm gonna put my jewelry that I have a new jewelry I hate that word jewelry jewelry I bet that's
really hard for British people to say it's like how do they say it jewelry oh my god I don't want
to try um I commit I was like I have to get this done today so I'd install my jewelry holder on
the wall and hang up my necklaces because I've been dealing with like every time I want to wear
a necklace I have to untangle a ball of necklaces like that scene in uh Christmas Vacation where
Russ has to go untangle, is it Russ? Yeah. Clark, Russ. Russ is the kid. He has to untangle the ball
of Christmas lights. You know that scene? I feel like that every time I untangle my necklaces.
So today I finally said, no, no more. And I installed that. And then, so I had the mattress,
the jewelry. I have like, I don't know. I'm looking at six. I haven't taken them out yet.
I haven't taken like this is haunting me how many times do I tell you about taking out garbage
I've got like six Amazon boxes by the door that have to get recycled I threw away I have two big
garbage bags full of bedding I'm just throwing away I don't I don't need it like I bought new
stuff I'm not good this stuff is like old I don't want to like wash it and keep it because I don't
know it's just kind of shitty and one of the comforters I have like the stuff inside like
fell out there's a hole in it so I'm just throwing that away you know I should walk down to the
bridge and you know what no no bullshit like I'm not even being funny right now I think I should
if I left this under the bridge for the homeless people would that be okay or give it to them hand
personally to them there's so many people I see sleeping on cardboard and they don't really have
a lot of blankets and stuff I should I should go give it to someone not tonight definitely not at
night you know what that'll make I got to do that I should do that because what am I gonna do throw
it in the dumpster they're gonna try to get in there anyways and they're not gonna get past our
passcode we have a passcode on our dumpster here pisses me off every time I go to take out my
garbage I have to remember a passcode I always forget it I've just it's annoying so I think I'll
do that um so then I had what else I had dishes guys I had like every smoothie I've drank this
week and then not this week like the last three or four days in the sink not washed I don't have
a sponge Amazon so I don't know what's going on with Amazon I'm so grateful for these workers
like these drivers and these people that deliver packages like when I think about it that's a
that's a great job I think that a lot of a lot of the guys and girls that do it love it it's like a
great job to have but I mean they hustle in these streets for us think of all the shit you buy it's
like constant never-ending shit they have to deliver I don't know for whatever reason I got
my sheets delayed like seven days now I didn't get my sponges for my dishes today so it's hard
to wash my sink or excuse me, hard to wash my dishes without a really good sponge. Cause when
I left to Washington last month, I like used my last, I like used, it was, it was on its last
legs. I wasn't going to let it sit in the sink for a month. So I threw it away and I don't have
one right now. So dishes accumulated. So tonight I had to do dishes. Um, I'd sand all over my floor
from hiking um so I had to vacuum up all that I need it honestly I need to go out I haven't done
this yet tonight I need to go out and vacuum my car because the sand in there is obnoxious I need
to you know what I'm gonna do I have a vacuum for my house like a handheld but I want to get one for
my car or just maybe just take it to the car to use all the time because I I hate when my floor
has sand and dirt any like little I like it clean so yeah I kind of need to do that do that
um make my bed you know this is the Sunday this is the Sunday scaries and you're this is what it's
all about I wouldn't say a procrastinating my chores I think I did my passions first
and I don't even what what was that uh hiking and uh taking a couple pics that's not what I meant
I did what I did fun things first and then it hit me that I will hate myself tomorrow morning this
is not true I don't talk like that anymore I'll just be annoyed or just like a little bit
kind of down just like oh fuck if I don't get shit done tonight you know what I mean I don't
want to wake up Monday with garbage and like sand on my floor and you know I feel like Sunday's when
I set the tone for the week so I'm always like writing what I'm gonna do you know every day
Monday through Friday um you know get the chores done you guys get it you guys are all
self-sufficient thriving adults like myself
all right guys honestly that's it that's today that's Sunday January 3rd holy fuck um
here's what I was gonna do
when I was hiking I'm like what could I I haven't done a topic I never sit down on a podcast and go
I'm gonna do a topic and stick to a topic but I realized that I don't know much about San Diego
like I like I like it here it's nice I live here you know I look around like all right but I don't
really know much about the city I've been here a couple years and I couldn't tell you any history
facts anything I don't know what I don't know why San Diego is here that's sad because I I feel like
I'm trying here's something kind of um I don't know deep or not deep but
I was just home for a month and the feeling of being
back in my roots where I'm from it makes you feel some type of way like that's where you're from
you feel this like like I'm home bitch this is my land I grew up here this is home right
and San Diego is starting to become that it really started to become that last year in 2020 when I
was you know like just here all the time I wasn't traveling it wasn't away and I feel like moving
forward I just try I'm trying to like learn more about this place and really like feel like this
is something I could I don't know just I could talk to people glitch I just glitched I could
talk about the city. I could talk about facts. I don't know. I could tell you all about Seattle
all day long, but I can't really do that about San Diego. Does that make sense?
I don't know. I think it's important to know where you come from. And, uh,
I'm going on year three coming up here in six months. So I should figure it out. Do you guys
want to know some facts right now? Let's just do some quick facts. Some San Diego quick facts.
Let me look up on Google.
San Diego facts
I love that NFL theme song
it's just it's great it makes you feel so excited um 37 things you probably didn't know about
now this podcast is turning into a history lesson sorry we're just gonna do a couple
okay san diego has over 7 000 farms the most in one city in the united states
that's nuts wait what where are the farms
holy guacamole batman san diego produces more avocados than any other place in the country
country no i knew that it's weird how when i'm in like when i was at home
eating avocado toast it wasn't the same like i don't know they're better here or just like
doesn't make sense to eat avocado in Washington like it does here I mean it does don't get me
wrong we eat them up there but it just doesn't feel the same um that's crazy so the farms must
be inland but like I don't I don't really go east very much San Diego is huge but like how
where are those farms on the outskirts
okay so over 200 cruise ships birth that term b-e-r-t-h that must mean
like sit there in the san diego harbor every year 200 cruise ships i see them all the time
i love when the disney one rolls up um hypnotism is banned hypnotism is banned by public schools
in san diego interesting i tried that once i was in my eighth grade i was in my eighth grade
graduation after party thing where they take you on a bus you don't know where you're going what's
that called whatever grad night yeah grad night and it's all exciting because you don't know where
you're gonna go and we ended up going to this um was it like a I think it was in Seattle on the
water this swanky little it was like a bar but like they I mean we were in eighth grade of course
who weren't drinking, but they had, I guess like games and stuff. But the, this hypnotic hypnotism,
dude, hypnotic, what are they called? Hypnosis, man, the guy that hypnotizes you. I, you know,
I volunteered for that shit. I sat in that chair, set my head down, put my hands in my lap, got real
relaxed as they try to tell you to do. And I couldn't get into it. I don't understand hypnotism.
i don't understand it i was sitting there like how are you actually like i i was looking around
my fellow classmates and they were getting into it i'm like you're faking this you're faking this
shut stop this is acting you're faking it you're not being hypnotized but i think you like believe
the bullshit so then you're like in it and you're just like going you're just i don't know
maybe I should look up how hypnotism works because I honestly don't know how hip I got I got out like
the first round I was like the first one out of the chair um I used to watch that at the fair all
the time too during hypnosis a trained hypnotist hypnotist there's the word or hip hypnotherapist
induces a state of intense concentration or focused attention dude I'm ADHD I don't do that
That's probably why I didn't work. I'm actually not, I don't, I've not been, uh, I've never been
diagnosed, but it's highly likely. Uh, just fucking listen to me on this show. I mean,
I don't know. Maybe I think that ADHD, whatever it's called, ADD comes out when I'm trying to
fill air. Like I'm not, I don't like, I don't let silence happen. So then I go all over the place
and it sounds ADHD, but if you catch me 6 p.m. after a long workday sitting on my couch,
you're going to get a steady, calm, focused, attentive Jacqueline that's, like, not off the
rails like I am on the show, okay? It's different sometimes. Like, I'm not, I'm putting on a little
show right this is my show okay I don't let dead I can't let there's no one else to talk to
it can't get silent so you'll hear me go okay I'm gonna drink a LaCroix then I'm gonna check
my phone I'm gonna go play the NFL theme song when neighbors are having sex I'm gonna like it
goes all over the place so anyways this is a guided process with verbal cues and repetition
the trance-like state you enter may appear similar to sleep in many ways but you're fully aware of
what's going on is hypnosis real okay hypnosis is a genuine psychological therapy process
it's often misunderstood and not widely used however medical research
continues to clarify how and when hypnosis can be used as a therapy tool
okay well it didn't work on me i don't know why i was oh san diego uh public schools banned
hypnotism why did i mean what are they doing that in fucking arkansas like hypnotizing their kids
is that a thing in public school or do they bring i don't know maybe it's like a field day thing
they bring in a hypnotist la jolla used to have an area of houses built strictly for small people
sometimes referred to as the munchkin houses due to the fact they were inhabited inhabited by some
of the actors who played munchkins in the wizard of oz film i learned last year that we can't use
the word munchkin or midget uh it's only i think the lp little people is the politically correct
term so i was just reading what this website says i'm not trying to be offensive it called them
munchkins that's kind of cool i wonder where they're at la jolla is up it's like a little
bit uh north of the city uh okay these are fun facts i mean water is a hot commodity in san
diego the city imports and imports an estimated 80 to 90 percent of its water totaling 168 million
gallons a day holy shit you get what you pay for in san diego the city's dick's last resort bar
and restaurant and encourage their staff to be as rude and obnoxious as possible as part of their
dining experience. Wait, that's here. Dick's last resort bar is here. I've saw, I saw that
on the food network a few years ago. I didn't realize it was here. Maybe that's a, I feel like
that's a, uh, a lot of restaurants copy that idea. Like they, they have their waiters be mean on
purpose. I would be great at that. Oh my God, guys, I would thrive doing that. Let me look it
up? Are they hiring? Wait, what's it called? I fucking love that. Dick's last resort. Dick's
last resort. Why is it called that? I don't like that. Oh, like last resort. Um, where's it at?
Oh, there's, I think there's a few of them. Yeah. They have different locations. Dallas,
Tennessee. I can't say the name of the city in Tennessee. Gatlinburg. Oh, Gatlinburg,
indianapolis las vegas myrtle beach nashville panama city san antonio pigeon wait
it doesn't say san diego i don't know whatever okay let's do a couple more facts i'll wrap this
up uh okay i knew cameron diaz was from here that's cool the old globe at the la jolla playhouse
have successfully sent more shows to the bright lights of Broadway in New York City than any other
city in the country. I believe it. The whole globe is, it's the shit. I sat front row at a show last
year. It was 2019. It's, I love life. I love, I used to be in plays. I love watching people act
on a stage. It's so fun. I love it. I love it. Love it. I need to watch Broadway. I need to go
to plays. That's one of my favorite things I did up, uh, up, up, I guess it's up and over
in London. Um, I went to some shows, different live performances and, uh, I had to like be a
reporter, right? So I'm sitting there taking notes, like I'm going to report on the show.
That was part of my assignment. And I don't know. I love, I just like, I like watching people act.
it's fun so yeah the globe's cool um it's like a copycat of Shakespeare's like actual like the
theater what's that called the globe um I still want to read facts this is so long how many facts
are here 37 there's something about let's see here how are you guys doing is this interesting
you guys aren't like if you don't live here you're probably like I don't give a fuck but
Hey, Jacqueline's learning about the city she lives in because I'm curious.
This is fascinating to me.
Okay.
Let's see here.
The weather might be a dream in San Diego, but the traffic isn't.
The average motorist spends a grueling 256 hours a year sitting in their car.
I don't.
Dude, figure it out.
don't live and work an hour commute apart and honestly I know some people have no choice but
you kind of do figure it out I don't understand I could never do that like how do people settle
for that shit okay I this is this sounds so privileged but it's not even like privilege
it's just like common sense like why take up a job okay obviously it probably pays a lot and you
it's you it's actually you have to commute it's like cheaper to live where you live and then
commute in to the city or wherever obviously that's why people jacqueline i know why that
i know why people do it but what a living hell an hour one way an hour back home your life sucks
there's ways around that you can figure it out just like find a way i used to
like walk to work it took me five minutes to get to my desk it was amazing
um yeah I don't know I don't think I think a lot of people this year realized that or
fuck it's 2021 that's so weird it's kind this okay I'm gonna talk about uh 2020 people commuting
last year realized that when they worked remote at home like they didn't need to do that that's
what I was gonna say like that was probably a good thing for people to realize but um but they
sitting in their car for most of their life, you know? But anyways, I don't think this year's hit
me yet. It's like, okay, I graduated college, what, 2016? I have, I feel grown, I feel really
grown up. I don't know how to, I don't know how to say this, but I feel like I can't believe I'm
going into my 27th year. I am in my 27th year. I'm closer to 30 than I am 21. Fuck this.
I don't like it. So yeah, I just feel like this 2021 hit and I still feel like the world is like
2020, right? It doesn't seem like a new, it, I've been, I've been up and positive and happy and
doing some good things so far. Three days in, you know, it's been great, but I don't,
I just feel like the world is kind of the same as last year so far and I it's gonna you know
we're gonna find out I want to give it six months honestly I think July will be a big turning point
if things button up and go back to normal or if it goes south you know it's like oh second wave
the fucking six mutation will pop up by July and we're all in full lockdown can't even go to the
grocery store delivery only they're fucking putting Amazon workers on double time having
them deliver groceries like I don't know I did see that my mom called me she's like
Did you know San Diego has the mutation or whatever, and it's, like, 70% more contagious?
I didn't know that, but I don't know.
I've been hiking around a lot of people.
We're all breathing hard.
Who knows?
I don't know how that works.
I feel like if you're outside, if you're in fresh air, there's a lot of open air and space for people's breath to move around in.
It's not like you're in a little room.
I don't know.
yeah. So anyways, that's the podcast. That's episode one 22. Holy shit. I've done this 122
days in a row. Um, wow. We're four, we're a third of the way into a full year. I put that together
a couple of days ago. I was like, Oh wow. 120 episodes. Wow. Um, but I'm still having fun.
I think tonight was a fun show. I just like, the thing is, is like a couple of nights ago,
I was just, I I've been tired, you know, doing this right before bed, like a jackass. But tonight
