Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? Happy Friday. It's episode 182. Welcome back to the show. all around a great week wow a great week a great first week of March. Happy Friday. You made it. Happy weekend. Welcome back to the show. It's Jacqueline. Hit that subscribe button. This is my audio diary. Today I'm going to be talking about many things, but I'm going to continue the series I've been doing since last Friday about how I'm getting my shit together because I'm in a crisis if I don't take action so that's the theme of the show today I'm going to be mentioning um some like life updates career updates or not really career just like job updates um current event updates fucking I don't know
Starting point is 00:01:18 right now I'm going to set the scene for you it's 7 25 p.m I had a great work day great Friday work day I'm drinking a knockoff brand LaCroix 365 Whole Foods Market Lime sparkling water I tripped up at the at the beginning of this episode I re-recorded it 18 times well not really but I wanted to start the episode with the uh ka-ching noise of the can opening and I did it once and I fucked up and then it yeah so now I can't do it do that noise for you but here you go that's carbonated gurgling I've never done that before don't ever do that it kind of hurt so that's happening I'm uh post exhausting my puppy run slash walk outside we were out there for a good 30 minutes he uh ran some hill sprints with me and I feel winded I feel clear-minded
Starting point is 00:02:12 I'm you know looking forward to having a nice self-care Friday taking care of my mental health on this fucking podcast talking shit out dude what's my life all right so I guess you guys are on the edge of your seats right now because I posted a picture on my Instagram page like it's unusual for me to post something like this but I had a fucking picture of me and my team on Forbes so let me just tell you what happened okay um as you know I have a job outside of pod this isn't my job this is my hobby but I work for a PR company called Mindful Media and we are featured in Forbes as uh published March 4th was that yesterday yeah yesterday as one of the top seven PR and branding firms for entrepreneurs in 2021 it's a big shout out to
Starting point is 00:03:03 my team Mindful Media um and Michael for I feel like I'm accepting a fucking award right now like I'm standing on stage I'd like to thank my boss for being a badass and my team for being awesome and I'm just so proud of us I think that's awesome um yeah I don't know if I mean if you're new and you don't know much about me I got my degree in PR at Washington State University I've worked for all kinds of companies and I've been in the startup world a lot and I feel like uh, now I'm actually doing PR. I'm actually using my degree directly into what I got from my degree. What the fuck? I am, I got my PR degree. I'm doing PR. It's awesome. I love my job. I love what I do. I love the people I work with. Um, so yeah. Uh, if you're looking for press, hit me up.
Starting point is 00:03:52 It's funny how people slid in my DMs. They're like, Oh, I'm like, Oh, by the way, good to know you work for them because I've been looking for a PR agency. So awesome. Um, hit me up. That's that that whole post was about and um I think it's funny like we were joking on our meeting today we're like Jimmy made Forbes at four months old because our team picture has Jimmy and me in it I'm holding him like we're all holding dogs in the picture and it's funny how I'm the remote employee so they held a laptop and then I'm like the picture of me my team photo pic is me on the laptop which is kind of I feel like it's so 2021 and and it's you know we're hip we're with we're with the times uh everything we do is like zoom and and shit so whatever uh super grateful super
Starting point is 00:04:44 honored for that uh I don't know I like called my mom and she's like so proud that's awesome oh my god I honestly don't know how to feel I feel like it's a big deal and I don't know how to feel I'm just like yep we're the shit I know we know we uh work hard and I think it's well deserved so yeah that's what that whole post was about I think I teased yesterday that Jimmy made Forbes and you guys were like confused or whatever so now you know dude my chest kind of hurts not gonna lie and not in a good way kind of in a like do I need to check my Apple watch do my what is it called my heart rate thing right now it's the kind of hurt where it's like a sharp pain in my chest like I'm having a heart attack but it's not that but I don't know what else it would be because I
Starting point is 00:05:35 don't know why my chest muscles would be sore I didn't get hit in the chest just this aching like pinching feeling my chest I might die on this episode you guys might be listening to a live um death which could be fun so I don't know keep listening might happen um all right so fucking this is what I did today I'm gonna do my little vlog part woke up sticking to my routine let's get into I woke up pulled my caffeine out of the fridge I make my caffeine the night before and because I have an espresso machine that takes six minutes to make the espresso and so when I wake up with my puppy who wants to immediately take a piss uh I refuse to take him out to take a piss. I make them wait and I have to make my coffee first. And so now the way I have my, the
Starting point is 00:06:25 way I've been getting my shit together is making my caffeine, uh, the night before. So this morning I pulled my caffeine out of the fridge, four shots in my plastic cup, ice straw, plastic straw, plastic lid, all plastic. You guys go listen to plastic is self-care. The title is plastic is self-care. If you're pissed off at that, just go back and listen. There's a reason for it. uh, I, yeah, I walked with him. I drank my iced coffee, smelled the fresh air, listened to a podcast. I was listening to, um, what was it? Tim Dillon live in Cleveland or some shit. I don't know. And yeah, I was, or did I listen to that later? Whatever. I listened to a podcast. Um, and then I came in and I got to work. This might be dry, but you guys have to
Starting point is 00:07:15 understand, and I, I will, I won't stop repeating this to keep you guys going, like, to keep you guys here, just stay with me, stay with me, you guys have to stay with me, because I might die, and I don't, I don't want to joke about that, honestly, I need to shut the fuck up, because that's, it's not, this is not going to age well, okay, knock on wood, I'm okay, I just think it's my, um, I'm not used to running a lot, and then I feel like my chest is just kind of, like, uh, it's that post cardio burn so I'm fine um but I will not stop discussing my day-to-day boring shit with you guys until I feel like I have my shit together so literally it's like woke up went on a walk with my puppy got my heart pumping drank my coffee worked uh had a meeting
Starting point is 00:07:58 uh lunch break at noon I'm putting myself on an eight to five so I broke at noon and you know I ended up eating lunch taking a nap for 20 minutes woke up from the nap for about 10 minutes is where I want to like update you guys on something new I did uh just so exciting this is just gonna fucking floor you guys um so I'm fucking obsessed with Ozark to the point where I was watching YouTube videos this is where the self-discipline went out the fucking window I'm not perfect I want to be disciplined but I'm not perfect and I caught myself after 30 minutes of browsing YouTube videos of behind the scenes Ozark content interviews everything and I got in a rabbit hole and I just want to say that Julia Garner is one of the most
Starting point is 00:08:45 beautiful people I've ever seen most she's the epitome of what a beautiful woman is and I am obsessed with her I'm obsessed with her character I want to be her so yeah I was on after my little nap and lunch break I was on YouTube for 30 minutes just like fucking watching little short videos of Ozark and um I haven't found a new show to watch because that's another part of my new getting my shit together routine is allowing myself to watch a show at night and not um having anxiety about not working and stuff so I haven't picked a new show out yet and I'm I think I'm gonna start one I need to start one tonight I think I'm gonna do that yeah I've kind of been watching YouTube podcasts for the last couple of days since I finished Ozark and I need to find
Starting point is 00:09:30 like a Netflix show. So, uh, let me know. What do you guys like? What's, uh, this is the thing about me and shows like it can't be scary even. Okay. Yeah. It can't be scary. Um, it can't be gory. I don't like anything crime where there's like murdering happen, but Ozark had a lot of that shit here's why this is the reason why I could stomach Ozark and I think I mentioned this like when I started watching it is that Marty and Wendy the the two mains the the mom and the dad in the show look like suburban parents who are like just they like the mom drives a minivan there she's like a soccer mom very plain Marty doesn't have uh he's not aggressive he's just like this you know calm dude so the whole show was like soothing because of that because if they
Starting point is 00:10:27 are these hard asses these badass rough parents who were also money launderers and there was the drug cartel and it was like a rougher vibe I don't think I would do well with it like something about those characters send me out and so I could deal with the the action but normally like I don't like anything crime shooting guts none of that so um yeah I don't like to get scared at all like I hate scary movies I just fucking can't do it and then so I think I'm into why am I trying to tell you my guys my preferences on what genres I like to watch on shows like my favorite shows ever or favorite the first show I watched start to finish and was obsessed with this prison break um what else did i watch then i like you know gossip girl like those kind of like
Starting point is 00:11:18 girl more girls the hills like those kind of shows i'm gonna move on from this this is boring as fuck but yeah something like ozark would be cool i think i mentioned i want to start watching yellowstone um but yeah let me know what's a good show that's uh or mind hunter i heard it was good i might watch that chest still hurts i'm good um 7 35 p.m am i hitting a wall uh i don't know and i feel like i'm coming down i need to drink a little i need to rehydrate dude it's really like this though with uh carbonated beverages like they really they really pick you up when you're feeling down I mean I've said this many times if I don't drink a LaCroix or just a sparkling water by 3 p.m. I start deflating like I fucking lose mass and so
Starting point is 00:12:15 I swear by them I mean just perk yourself up if it's like if I like the sparkling water at night when I'm just like I need to muscle through my you know my podcast right now I need to you know organize some shit make dinner for myself get things buttoned down in my apartment put my dog to bed to sleep even though he fucking will never he sleeps when I do so um so yeah the La Croix kind of perks you up and it's great now please don't body shame me and and uh please don't body shame me about not having friends and going out on a Friday night and um every everything that's shaming is body shaming to me I'm just like I feel body shamed not having friends going out on a Friday night um yes there are people walking the streets like when we were out walking
Starting point is 00:13:02 me and Jimmy tonight there's people stomping around in heels dressed up going on their little date night walking the streets I'm like yep not me I'll be podcasting it's all good so um fucking what else happened I feel like why am I being negative right now I'm being like low energy let me perk up okay so after Ozark YouTube videos I noticed 30 minutes into that I was like fuck this is I'm slipping I'm slipping I'm slacking off fuck Jacqueline cut it out get back to work so I got back to work 5 p.m sharp ending yoga one hour Travis Elliott the yoga flow was called uh happy be happy or some shit and low-key fire no i'm just saying like this was the best travis elliott yoga workout i've done so far
Starting point is 00:13:55 because i have a fucked up right hip and i refuse to do any of his commands in the last 10 minutes because he had me in a he had me in a pigeon pose around the 50 mark the 50 minute mark on my right hip. Did I say left hip? My right hip. And I refused to do any, do anything else. And I just laid in that position for 10 minutes because something about the warmup, the whole flow before that got my leg perfectly aligned and like warmed up to get into a pigeon. I'm speaking Chinese to people that, to people that have no clue what yoga is or like don't understand I'm in a fucking pigeon and something like unhinged in my hip or something like my outer muscle on my glute like unlocked and I just like it fixed something and it felt so good I felt high
Starting point is 00:14:47 like I felt uh I can't describe it this is why I love yoga like the and why I'm being super disciplined about not doing anything else is because like I and nothing feels better than than when I'm at the end of a class and doing and stretching and just like laying there deep breathing. And so yeah, I feel amazing. I did that. Guys, I feel so strong right now. And I'm like, the thing is, is like, I'm not shedding. This is like, maybe does anyone want to hear about a girl talking about her fucking weight? Who wants to hear about this? Boring, but who doesn't like here's the thing I gained weight in 2020 and it's not coming off fast because it's not like I'm trying hard with my diet like I'm like I'm not pushing the gas on my diet at all
Starting point is 00:15:41 I'm just trying to like incorporate more movement because I think my diet's pretty good I just honestly was so lazy last year and I didn't really I legit just didn't work out for so long like walking was it and that's so unlike me and hi depression hi uh COVID-19 being a bitch so I'm just kind of like slowly integrating more movement and um I don't know like I'm just like god damn it it's tough losing weight when you're dead I don't know I'm just not at my best and like I'm not fucking fat I'm just like not what I want to be so whatever um progress not perfection and that's what I'm that's like not to get like serious right now but what I'm learning about um getting healthy and like and fit is I don't know I feel like this is fucking boring but
Starting point is 00:16:38 you really have to just be consistent and focus on one day at a time instead of like oh I'm not my perfect bod like that I want again like I'm trying to get that back and it's just not happening fast and I need to focus on what's in front of me like the day ahead and just try to get the day right instead of fucking wishing and wanting. So I'm proud of myself. I've been consistent since November with yoga every day and I feel strong. I feel so healthy and like fit and it's all happening. And there's just like this little layer, there's this little like inch to pinch everywhere. I'm a little fluffy and it's not fun, but you know what? A girl can dream. A girl can wish and want all she, all she wants. And that's okay. If you want to be hot as fuck and be lean
Starting point is 00:17:21 and have a great body go for it I'm anti-body positive I think if you feel fat don't embrace it fucking get after it get on your yoga mat do your exercise eat healthy like get square up square up with yourself in the mirror and be like yep I don't like this I want to change it and that's fine so uh hit me up in fucking July if you want to bang all right that's when it's gonna be sorry mom i mean like look uh jesus christ i'm embarrassed like if i don't feel hot that's just not on the car that's just not on the table okay and that's in it that's stupid and i'm i'm oversharing but um it's actually not that bad it's just like i'm still trying to work on myself and i don't i'm i'm revealing too much about my
Starting point is 00:18:15 person life right now and dating guys, but like, yes, I've been dating, but I, yeah. Okay. But that's it. Just dates. I like dates. Like let's grab some fucking coffee and make dinner and shit. So, okay. Moving on. Embarrassed. Sort of not even embarrassed. Just like, why am I so fucking fat? Jacqueline delete this episode nobody wanted to hear that all right so what else happened I went on my walk and now I'm podcasting that was my day today so here we go here's what we got going in the world um Drake releasing an album tonight at midnight it's called scary hours right or is it just an ep is an ep just one song i forget i don't fucking know scary hours
Starting point is 00:19:09 it's an album right oh no his new album's called certified lover boy but this is an ep oh i should know this my brother does eps with uh shout out robert for uh, being a badass with your music. He's my intro music, dude. All his links are in my description, by the way, on every episode, Rob Mon, Rob Mon on, um, Rob Mon on short for Robert Monroe on Spotify. Um, no, but he does EP. So yeah, the, the EP is called scary hours, but his album's called certified love a boy. Okay. So that's happening. People are excited. Um, Biden gave a speech I watched some of it on uh YouTube I just I don't know you gotta watch you just gotta you gotta know what you're working with you gotta know what's at the top of the
Starting point is 00:20:08 fucking pyramid and it's not looking great not looking great and um yeah the comments on YouTube are fucking hilarious I honestly went to YouTube just see what people are saying and it's it's a lot of sympathy like I think poor guy can't talk I feel sad for him a lot of people are bitching about him not answering conference like or not conference questions and holding a press conference and yeah a lot of people are just like okay but I don't know see I watched that I mean like you guys I don't know if you saw it this is so random but I have a list here of great life advice I could read and then uh I was on buzzfeed of course kind of looking for talking points and there's this uh article
Starting point is 00:21:05 here about what it's like to be friends with it with an influencer and people like there's quotes from the influencers friends and i'm just like dude i don't want any more followers i don't want to have a lot like i literally don't want like i don't want you to go to my instagram see 100k 2000 like 2 million 200k like like i just i feel like no offense but i just i don't i i just i don't know that sounds stupid of courtly good followers are currency or like followers are everything now it's like it represents that like you're uh it gives you credibility and I'm just like freaked out by because then it's like oh she's an influencer like if you go to my profile and I have like 100k it's like oh she's an influencer oh she's an influencer I'm
Starting point is 00:21:57 like under 10k it's kind of like oh she's got a cool thing going on with her podcast all right she's a boss bitch in her in her with her job clearly she's on fucking Forbes all right So, normal chick, normal girl. She's not trying to be somebody. She's not trying to be famous. She's not trying to flex on the gram and, like, tag Fashion Nova and, like, be an insta-baddie. Like, I'm not trying to do any of that. So, I think I need to keep my following count, follower count, excuse me, right where it's at, under 10K, no more than that, and then I'll feel sane.
Starting point is 00:22:34 because literally like the thought of, okay, I know this is fucking annoying, but let me just read some of these quotes. Uh, let me just see here. I didn't queue it up. I know a wannabe influencer. She will reply to her own posts from her husband's account, praising herself. Then she will reply to those posts as, as herself thanking him. It's hilarious. Okay. To be honest, it's, this is people being friends with influencers to be honest it's really shit British person to be honest it's really shit I feel like I was gonna do an accident I feel like I've been completely forgotten about and like I don't matter anymore I like how they put the like buzzfeed will include if they do a soundbite they'll include when someone says like a bunch
Starting point is 00:23:23 um I feel like I've been completely forgotten about and like I don't matter anymore I think like that's just some weird misguided jealousy but but like it still hurts because i miss talking to my friend uh i hear something she hasn't come to anything i've invited her she hasn't come to anything i've invited her to in five years because she only goes to events that further her business regularly says things like we all used to we're all using each other for something she still reaches out to me multiple times a year and claims i'm one of her best friends but it sure doesn't feel like it I've told her I don't like reading okay so anyways I just don't want to be that fucking annoying person in fact I told you guys how like I struggled with mentally
Starting point is 00:24:15 like I envisioned myself to be uh insta baddie like influencer chick who uh like posts beauty and fashion and lifestyle content all the time and like has my theme has a oatmeal toned theme with all my filters uh everything is like aesthetic and vibey and hypey and i have a lot of gold jewelry and necklaces on and like neutral sweatsuits and fucking aloe yogas with working with me and i'm wearing all their new shit and i'm fucking like that's me bitch like I thought that's what my journey was I thought that's like I envisioned that a little bit for myself with also being a YouTube vlogger and um because I just got I got I got I got the look I got the charm I got that comedic sauce and uh I was gonna pepper that
Starting point is 00:25:13 in and excuse me I have that comedic and sauce and charm for podcasting so I discovered that in 2020 that this is my lane all that influencer shit felt it didn't sync up with me right it didn't feel I always felt like I was trying to be something I'm not or like I'm trying I'm just copying what's already being done and I just felt like there's a script out there and a formula that people are reading from and showing products and like tagging brands and talking about stuff in the same exact way as everyone else and I just feel like I'm like hi guys got another haul we're gonna show off our fucking makeup today and our and you know what that's great I I've I haven't done this monologue in a minute but I believe that influencers are they're very important we
Starting point is 00:26:04 need them they're on the front lines keeping someone else's dream alive and if we don't have them showing products and everything that's hot and new every month, whoever's company is sending it to them is going to fucking fail. They got to keep that person's dream alive. They've got to be out on the front lines doing that. And it's a win-win because look, they look hot and relevant and cool. They get all this free shit there. I mean, it's a hard, hard job to have, or it's, it's hard work. I know they sound like they're lazy asses, but, um, yeah, it's, uh, just at end of the day, not for me. Uh, I, uh, I like this shit better. It's, I don't know. Why did I go on to this? What was I reading from Buzzfeed? What it's like to be friends with an influencer?
Starting point is 00:26:52 Yeah, but I did have a long term, uh, I was in a long term fucked up mental relationship with, what am i saying i broke up with that dream last year and that dream started in seventh grade when i watched michelle fawn apply eos balm on her fucking lips every day she did a makeup tutorial when i watched ingrid nielsen when i watched juicy star 07 uh all that glitters 21 uh fucking who else is like uh shit jenna marbles and shane dot like all those were like the comedy people but um but the beauty influencers had me hooked at uh in 2007 and then I kind of just in the back of my head was like yeah I know I'm gonna go and have a career and do a normal job and go to college at the end of the day like I want to be a fucking famous influencer just like all the four-year-olds
Starting point is 00:27:46 now telling their parents that so uh kind of ashamed of or a little embarrassing to admit that But, I don't know. Now I'm all about showing up on the internet exactly as who you are, unfiltered, like long form convos, bridging the gap between what people see on the internet and how you are in person. And I think the best way for me or the best way for me to do that is to talk it out and have a podcast and to not, uh, chase that influencer dream. All right. This is a weird fucking monologue. Did any of that, do I make myself clear? Do I make myself clear? Class? Johnny in the back. Uh, are you a little confused by what I said about being on the front lines? Are you thinking about joining the military? but yeah that's really how I see it and then just to go on a little bit more about me and my experience like anytime I pick up my phone and do a story about some bullshit products and not bullshit products awesome products and like show the little behind the scenes of my life I even do it a little bit now but it's not like I'm grabbing a bunch of clothes and trying them on and showing my followers like I'm not doing that whole influencer thing but whenever I did anything
Starting point is 00:29:07 like that in the past it makes my life suck it makes my life experience suck it dulls down my reality and it makes me feel like uh there's like this hiccup and just living and experiencing life because you're pausing to grab your phone to take a picture of the moment to take a picture or a video of whatever you're doing to post it for people to see and it's like you're not really living in a, in a whole way. It's like this breakup in little, like there's all these little hiccups with Insta stories all fucking day. So I dunno. It's not for me. Let's move on. Um, someone just sent me a video. Great. Oh Jesus. I'm so low effort when people send me videos of talk, of talking and they're like, I'm just not.
Starting point is 00:29:57 it's all about building relationships and connecting and then someone sends me a speech and I'm like oh I'm gonna just like the video I got the message or I'll just write back I don't want to send a selfie video it's a selfie video thing you guys know how I feel about the selfie videos uh well if you're a guy sliding in my dm with a selfie video because you're like interested in me like there's a whole speech I gave way deep down in the the barrel of my podcast about that where like a guy did that who was literally like selling a program to guys on how to get girls and like slide in their dms and like what to do and he did it on me and it just fucking failed I was like nope awkward I feel uh secondhand embarrassment for you and this intro
Starting point is 00:30:47 video like hey nice to meet you virtually uh hi I'm Tommy and I uh yeah I listen to your podcast I think you're really special it's just like fucking awkward not into the selfie video but for business okay we can talk and chat that way because I like that format actually a lot but if you're like trying to hit on me and like hit me up it just it fucking like it just drives me up in me. I just can't do it. So, oh, what was I going to read? Great life advice. Um, Friday night, great life advice. Let's do it. So what did I do? I, what did I do today? I talked to, talked to you guys about that Forbes post. I explained that I talked about my day, um, and how I like watched Ozark videos. And I went into that, I guess. And
Starting point is 00:31:41 then I did yoga and like unhinged my fucked up hip and then I talked about Drake and Biden two peas in a pod I talked about being an influencer and I honestly those those memories and thought or excuse me those um deep thoughts I have about it just like resurfaced and I kind of went off but um I got that out I think I spent the first month of my show working that out with myself like why am I doing podcasting like what is this about and why does this feel like me so hardcore versus the influencer thing that's uh that was my former uh dream or like what I wanted to do like I was working that out and so I did a lot of um not necessarily kind of shit talk or just like what I just like spelled everything out the first month and I'm just over like I've beat
Starting point is 00:32:39 that horse I'm done so yeah today I just rehashed it out and I don't know I kind of feel judgmental it's not like I'm judging people that do it it's just personally no work for me I don't need to explain myself any further uh I'm feeling better my chest is good by the way if you're if you're still waiting to hear me die I'm fine I can't wait for dinner I'm so fucking hungry okay so um oh I was gonna read great life advice take time to know yourself a narrow focus brings big results
Starting point is 00:33:19 show up fully I'm thinking oh my like I'm saying yes to all of these right now be patient and persistent in order to get get get get her done in order to get what happened to larry the cable guy i'm add sorry in order to get you have to give luck comes from hard work be your best at all times holy shit great those are eight or seven bullet points for you tonight uh for a little inspo there a little self-reflection about your life I'm gonna just go over these first off I am taking time to know myself I feel confident about who I am and I think I'm accelerating my personal growth because I'm sitting every day talking to myself and it's helping me uh solidify kind of
Starting point is 00:34:18 or yeah, the loose ends of my thoughts and my, my self-talk and my chitter chatter chit chat all day. So, um, not to flex on all you hoes out there who just, it's all about the looks and personality and tell you influencers out there who don't, who don't ever talk to the camera or ever like, you never really like, you know, okay. That's judgmental. But like, I feel like a lot of people don't, they're distracted by all this bullshit and they never really sit down and face themselves and talk it out. And I feel better than other people because I'm doing this. And I feel, um, you gotta say extreme shit to keep people's attention. And I'm just, I'm look, I got a decade plus of podcasts listening under my fucking belt, all comedy,
Starting point is 00:35:14 all bullshit, and, uh, I've, that's a, that's a trend I recognize that, that works for me as a listener, and so I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to, uh, fucking, to fucking do it too, so, you know what, um, small city, big dreams, all right, that's what's up, like, here's the thing, this might be a year of me podcasting, podcasting every day and then I do it once a week. I don't know. I don't want to say that right now. I haven't even thought that far ahead. I'm really not there yet. It's only 182, right? 182. But I like that I'm being, like, I like that I've, I'm taking this year out of my life to do this right now because I feel like this is so good for me. Like, it's setting me up for my future. It's helping me be
Starting point is 00:36:09 a better person i feel nicer i feel um more like at ease with my life and interacting with other people even though i have awkward small talk when i uh walk with my dog and talk to other people i talked about that yesterday uh but like i think everyone needs to do more of this and i and i don't know how to talk about talking to yourself in a way that's, um, sexy to other people. Like, I don't know how you sell this. Like, I don't know how you say, Hey, look, I was fucking depressed. I was lost. I didn't know anything about myself. I was like confused on who I am and what I want. And, uh, I got on a microphone and started talking to myself and it changed my life. and this is my story
Starting point is 00:37:00 and I know like here's the thing people recommend therapy like I'm doing that too people recommend community friends talking to other people like that helps you figure yourself out but I think a lot of people could benefit from you know meditation is great because you sit and you're quiet and you're just like seeing your thoughts go by which is great too people journal I think the quality there I think this is a higher quality self um discovery practice or self uh anti-depression practice or whatever the fuck I
Starting point is 00:37:42 like this is the ultimate and I don't know like I think it's kind of weird and like not everyone is set up like you can't just like recommend everyone get on a fucking microphone and podcast with yourself. But if you're going through it, I can't recommend talking to yourself enough. Just get in the shower, get in your car, go on a drive, list out what your reality is. What are the facts? What's happening? Tell that story to yourself. What's happening? And then if you're going through it and you have anxiety or depression, go, okay, this is out of my control. This happened or this, Like I'm talking about shit you can't control in your life. It's just like fucking shitty. Go. Okay. Boom. That's what's up. Here's what I'm going to do to keep myself going to keep myself up and like list out like the steps you're going to take, the things you're going to do every day, like how you're going to get in a good routine, what time you're going to go to bed, like what's your, you know, lifestyle going to be so that you can face that shit and be better equipped to get through it. instead of just kind of, like, thinking and spiraling all day, if you get it out verbally,
Starting point is 00:38:56 it's so good for you, I feel, I'm just, love podcasting, I love doing this, so, yeah, so, I don't know, like, I'm 26, I do this for a year, maybe afterwards, after a year, I'll do it once or twice a week, I don't know, I don't want to think that far ahead, or haven't even considered it but um I just like wish more people around me knew themselves or ah is that a big is that a big statement I just think a lot of people go and like go through life with out they're they just never I don't know they don't know who they are they don't know who they are and I think when you know yourself you win at like you win and okay that sounds like some Gary Vee shit like when you
Starting point is 00:39:53 like most people in life okay this is what I think this is what I want to say yeah when most people don't know who they are when you know yourself you win something like that I don't fucking know all right so I'm gonna move on a narrow focus number two on this great life advice of list is a narrow focus brings big results in my case podcasting sticking to one thing doing this big results I don't know big results is like look I like myself finally I uh am happy happier than ever um big so my big results aren't I'm not into the vanity metrics of being a content creator and and having a podcast and chasing like download numbers and monetizing this and getting more followers from it like that's not even
Starting point is 00:40:48 there's that's not the purpose of this like the big results from my narrow focus of podcasting is so far after you know I'm halfway through the year of doing this uh mental health supreme and that's all I can fucking want and want in this life after 2020 and all that shit I went through like I'm fucking solid and I feel good and I'm happy I look forward to podcasting look forward to my day um and I think I'm clear it's clear as day to me about it's clear as day to me that uh this is me I'm like observing myself like here's the thing I'm like every time I podcast I'm hearing my soul speak I'm hearing my like opinions come out and the things I believe to be true in this life are coming coming out and my story comes out and so
Starting point is 00:41:46 I feel like like I know this is me now and it's like not buried it's not like a thought or I don't like think of old like I in the past like you could think of something that happened from your childhood and go oh that's like a fun story about riding my bike on the farm or whatever and then when you say it out loud and retell that story to yourself, which is something I often do here on the show, I'll do like childhood stories and childhood memories. Um, it just like feels fucking great. So anyways, next one, number three, show up fully. I'm just gonna gonna keep this short and sweet for me showing up fully is no editing bitch I don't this is full this is full-on I think showing up not fully and showing up half-assed would be like oh I don't
Starting point is 00:42:47 like what I said 30 minutes and I'm gonna chunk it out I'm gonna edit this part out I'm gonna edit and like and you're just like you're being a little fuckhead with your content you're like I don't want people to hear this out of my mouth so I'm gonna cut it out um this is just me like person like what I want for my show I'm like unfiltered unedited so yeah I'm showing up fully for you guys one take bitch all right be patient and persistent obvious um persistency is happening I do it every day. I'm being patient. Yeah. I mentioned with my, uh, uh, my, uh, I mentioned some, some, uh, a few bullet points about my weight loss journey. Am I on a weight loss journey? I'm on a getting my COVID body away journey. And, uh, I'm being patient about that now. And I think
Starting point is 00:43:37 I discussed that earlier. So, but patience with the podcast, like, it's not like I'm waiting for anything, you know? I mean, fuck just like, bitch, this is as good as it's going to get. What are you being patient for patient for oh another person downloading it and listening to it another life I saved well that would be cool um if I could gauge that I mean like how many people I'm helping would be cool uh if those weren't the numbers like did this podcast help you and change and make your life better yes or no how do you get analytics about that um yeah anyways um uh, in order to get, you have to give, in order to get, so in order for me to get mentally sane again and happy, my big results were I know myself, I like myself,
Starting point is 00:44:29 so in order to get all that from this show, I have to give, so I have to show up every day and give this, give an episode to you guys, and, uh, yeah, uh, luck comes from hard work, yeah if I work hard enough at this maybe I'll be sitting across Joe Rogan someday I just slurred his fucking name I'll be sitting across Joe Rogan someday yeah I don't know for me luck with podcasting would be like yeah some big-ass podcaster's like look I want to guess I want you to be a guest then I'd be like oh that's fucking lucky but I did work hard because I do this I have a product that I sell every fucking day I have a fucking show once a day uh and it's hard work me being so interesting and so uh great with my words on the show that
Starting point is 00:45:26 makes it worthy of uh am I like is some big-ass podcast you're gonna listen to this be like oh she's she's cool I like what she's doing here and I'd like to have her as a guest like am I is this talent what am I fucking saying is this talent or is this hard work hard work beats talent bitch that's what I've learned about everything in this fucking life hard work beats talent fight me fucking come in my dms let's chat let's debate hard work beats talent every single time and i do believe i'm working hard here and um but yeah the luck comes from hard work this is number seven of great life advice or excuse me six of great life i don't even know i'm reading off this damn google search i did but yeah luck for me because i'm speaking
Starting point is 00:46:22 you about all this in terms of podcasting, luck would be like, yeah, some big podcaster reaches out or something. I'd be, I'd feel fucking lucky. I'd be like, whoa. Um, cause I'm not putting effort in, this is the thing about the show is it's not about me pushing on the gas, uh, promoting it, trying to make it a thing for myself. That's like, you know, what is it called? Like I'm not monetized. I'm not like, yeah, I'm not pushing on the gas to grow it. So if it, if someone finds it And I was like, oh, that's, this is cool. That's for me luck because I didn't try, I'm not trying to make that happen. I'm just working hard. I'm doing it every day. And I'm trying, I'm showing up. I'm, uh, in order to get, I'm giving and I'm, uh, my narrow focus is going to be,
Starting point is 00:47:08 bring me big results. And I am taking time to know myself. And the last one, be your best at all times it's kind of debatable to be honest like you can't be like i i was slipping today watching those youtube videos of uh behind the scenes ozark content shit it's like i was slipping i'm not my best at all times i'm not um but try to be your best at all times. Here's where, here's where I'm at. Let me just get back to how I have my shit together. I'm gonna end this episode. This kind of got deep at the end here. I don't, or it just got like, I don't know. Um, one formula, no, the formula that works for me best is, uh, putting
Starting point is 00:48:08 myself on a schedule by the hour like I suck at intuitively doing my day and like working from home and just like kind of like flowing I suck at that with I don't I don't like how my life feels I don't like I don't like how my days start and end and like nothing feels there, there's, it doesn't, it doesn't feel like I'm like having a time, a stop time for my job every day is like super helpful right now. Having a set bedtime, like, okay, this sounds like childish as fuck, a childish as fuck, but like having my 10 30 set bedtime lights out is like super good for me. Letting myself watch a show, like enjoying my evenings with my podcasting and making myself a nice dinner and like walking my dog and doing yoga and watch like you know
Starting point is 00:49:06 chilling out like that's super good for me but I literally had to get clear a week ago on that I like I went whoa what worked in the past I had an office to go to I had an eight to five I had a strict like and then after that I'd you know go to the gym and then I everything was like structured and routine and that's the that works for me the best and so for me to be my best at all times this is like to tie it in here fucking sorry yeah for me to be my best I really have to be strict with my uh daily schedule and I haven't been COVID fucking sucked that out of my body like I really got lazy about that like and I don't know if I've really I've I haven't I don't think I've been honest with you guys about how free flowing my days have been. Um, before I, yeah,
Starting point is 00:49:59 I really just, I do a lot of, um, uh, like lounging midday and working 10 till 2 AM and shit. And I'm like, it's like, it's fucking stupid. Like I'll, I'll like be like, Oh, it's noon. I'm, I'm just, I'm, I, I'll do my work tonight. And then I ended up working at night And it's just, it's fucking, yeah, again, stupid. So that's kind of my latest kick I'm on. And I feel good. I feel like, you know, if you're in a washing machine of remote life or just life in general, like there are no, what do I say? No non-negotiables. like today 5 p.m hit and Jimmy did bite my finger off he did bite my finger off I'm fucking still drawing but like the blood is still gushing out of it dude he like right before I wanted to do yoga at five I took him out and I grabbed a stick out of his mouth that looked dangerous and so uh and then I ended up getting bitten so it drew blood right before yoga at five and I was like
Starting point is 00:51:06 non-negotiable I don't care how much pain I'm in right now I'm getting on my fucking mat for one hour because at 5 p.m i do yoga and i just have like a hard set start and stop time that like i don't i don't be a little i'm not a little bitch about it it's like oh it's a weekday it's 5 p.m get on your yoga mat right now draw on blood that's fine you know what people are getting their fucking legs blown off in the middle middle east okay middle middle middle east middle i just said that so but like there's like a accent or a dialect i can't describe it but like it's like it's is it amish there's they say like little little little little it's like fucking that middle east
Starting point is 00:51:49 like i had a friend in the past that literally just made this noise sorry this is skip ahead this is gonna be some gross asmr like she just made this noise out of the like all the time sounds like a fucking queef like yeah so i mean i don't i i just keep things in perspective if i'm drawn a little blood from getting bitten by my puppy it's like look dude at least i have a fucking hand you know so i guess i'll end this episode with gratitude feeling super grateful for my boss today and my uh you know just like the whole work situation and making forbes like what
Starting point is 00:52:43 the fuck like i'm so grateful for him and you know being a part of the team and then i'm like feeling grateful for being healthy and fit like i can move my body i can do yoga regardless of like having blood gushing out of me and that's super cool i'm just grateful that i have like this great apartment and food in my fridge. And I have a really, I have like a, I have the cutest dog of all time. Nothing beats a golden retriever puppy. I have a great support system. Like my mom and my entire family is like, they all love me and they support what I'm doing and they're going to visit me soon. So that's fun. Um, I don't know. I like myself question mark. No, I am grateful that I found myself through podcasting and that I'm, uh, like I, I have fun alone now and I'm
Starting point is 00:53:42 not depressed alone. I enjoy my time with myself and I, um, yeah, I'm just like grateful for you guys too and all your little messages and shit it's kind of fun having a little army of and it can't have any more than 10k bitch if I get one more if I get any one anyone over 10k is getting blocked okay I don't want any more than 10k if I get more okay this is how big-headed am I get okay if it already sounds like I feel like I sound like a big head person big-headed person but I'm really fucking not um if i get 10 10 000 in one person uh report me no just like have my instagram instagram account deleted i'm just being annoying about that but uh yeah no it's cool like i've created a tight-knit group of peeps that follow and watch a show and dm me all the time and it's
Starting point is 00:54:36 just super awesome and i'm grateful for you guys because it kind of helps like i'll do this no matter how many people are listening no matter like I don't care that's not like whatever it it's not um like what I'm what am I fucking saying I just appreciate having people to actually listen and interact with me because it kind of makes it fun like it makes us feel more worth it and I and I feel like I'm it's not all self-serving and self-indulgent because I'm helping people out there I'm like they look forward to the episodes it gets them through their fucking workout and shit I don't know I think that's crazy that people listen to this when they work out how do you count your reps and like like pay attention when I'm saying at the same time maybe this is the perfect
Starting point is 00:55:21 like show to work out to because it's just nonsense and you just go whoa I feel drunk right now from listening to this so yeah gratitude all around um what else am I grateful for joe biden bitch you know what what a great guy um happy fucking friday hit that subscribe button stick around if you're a patron for your patron shout out i do them every friday and head over to patreon.com slash tjms to support the show get access to my exclusive bonus content my sexy videos of me training my dog and etc etc and yeah head over to patreon.com slash tjms check it out that's all I've got
