Hey guys, happy Tuesday. It's episode 186. Welcome back to the show!
hey what's up it's jacqueline welcome back to the show
hi happy Tuesday um I hate Tuesday worst day of the week other than I guess the taco Tuesday thing
that happens that everyone talks about I feel like it's a millennial trend taco Tuesday let's
get tacos I feel like the millennials own taco Tuesday wine Wednesday or wing Wednesday um
throwback Thursday. Hi, welcome back to the show. It's Jacqueline. Jesus. Intro your podcast,
bitch. Speaking of tacos, that is the theme of the show today. There's a reason for it. So stick
around to hear about tacos and my opinions. And yeah. So first off, yeah, hit that subscribe
button. I'm here every day. I'm here seven days a week. This is my audio diary. This is my fun
zone this is a safe place um it's kind of yeah it's become a safe place for me to just let
everything fly and have fun with you guys so come here join me every day and uh yeah okay so
shit dude it should be illegal for me to do yoga and then podcast right after like
because here's what I'm saying. I was so Zen. This is so bad for my body. I was so Zen 10 minutes ago
or probably like 30 minutes ago. And then now I'm like, okay, Jacqueline, you have to bring the
energy because you have to podcast. You can't just go from your Shavasana, Savasana. I never
know. I don't, I don't know the Yogi words. I just, that's a part of the end of the class where
you lay on your back and, uh, it's, it's amazing. Anyways, you go, I go from that to like wind up
the energy for the show. And it's, dude, I don't know why I do this at night sometimes,
but anyways, um, where was I? Patreon.com slash TJMS to support the show, uh, to get access to
more of me, to get access to exclusive content. Um, patron shout outs happen. If you, it's paid
to play. So if you pay me $5, I'll shout you out every Friday, if you want that. And then
you also get phone calls, you get extra videos that I don't post on the internet there. And
okay, boring. Let's do this episode. I just feel like I need to do a quick update before the taco
topic and let you guys know that I'm still working on getting my shit together. The series can kind
to die down at this point. I don't need to make the entire episode about that because what was it
two Fridays ago? I came on here and said, it's March one year ago, I entered depression. And
if I don't get my shit together, cause I felt like I was approaching a funk. It was about to happen
if I kept continuing these bad patterns in my life. Um, so anyways, I was like, I need to talk
to you guys every single day until I have my shit together and, and explain what I'm up to and my
new schedule and routine. But it's at the point now where it's starting to feel like my habits
are clicking in and I'm, I'm doing well. Um, uh, bedtime is, is great. I've been
hitting the 10 30 bedtime hard. I've been, um, pretty disciplined around that. Sometimes I don't
fall asleep till 11 but you know uh you can't nobody's perfect but you're worth it and I always
keep that in mind progress not perfection anyways boring okay that's that's not gonna be the word
of the episode how did this bitch just do yoga and then turn into this dinosaur like who am I
right now. Sorry. So don't apologize, Jacqueline. Here we go. Make a taco and we'll tell you your
next major life decision. Buzzfeed.com. Of course. Uh, I feel like doing a Buzzfeed quiz. I feel like
having fun talking about tacos for taco Tuesday. This is the, I don't have transition music, but
I should do like bada bing there here's the main segment of this episode
should I drink some water to transition let me drink some ice water
did I tell you guys I finally started putting ice in my water now I feel like I
I don't know I just I don't have an ice machine on my fridge I used to now I don't and so I'm like
manually entering inserting ice in my water and it's like it's changing my life I feel
I it's not like I feel rich again I just okay I feel like um my quality of life has increased
because I'm adding ice to my water and it just makes it seem better I don't know um yeah make
a taco and we'll tell you your major next major life decision let's do it first question
this is a buzzfeed quiz if you're new some days I'm like I don't want to I don't want to get deep
and explain you know my theories about the world and society and like I just want to do a fucking
quiz and zone out so here we go first question how many tacos do you want I'm looking at a picture
of street tacos. Uh, I don't know the gender or the race. I don't want to assume the gender or
the race of the man making the tacos, but it's a, it's a Mexican man, uh, the man or a woman
making the tacos. It's a Mexican man. Um, how many tacos do I want? Two, four, six, eight,
10 or 12. I'm going to be realistic as fuck about this taco creation process we're doing right now.
and like tell you what my heart wants and what my like what I would do if I walked up to this
street taco guy and like how like in real life I'm not gonna bullshit this me like I want 12 tacos
because like it's not I'm not gonna eat 12 tacos um let's see I'm on a weight loss journey I'm on
an anti-covid body journey so I'm gonna do two I'm gonna go for the minimum honestly two tacos
is good for me and um you know four this is the thing it's like a street taco is like a snack
thing you like walk up there you grab your two tacos you keep walking you keep going but four
is like you're sitting down for dinner I'd eat four if I was super hungry I'd do four six is I'm
at home at my mom's house we're having a taco night and I don't give a fuck I'm wearing my
stretchy pants I'm eating six tacos if we go past eight okay that's like a something bad has
happened in my life and I just gave up um that's when if I ate eight tacos um I'm I feel like at
that point she's pregnant or she let herself go and she's body positive so eight to eight through
12 never want to approach that many of my I mean I could fucking do it though if I didn't do a taco
eating competition. I could totally do it, but I'm saying like realistically, uh, two through six,
depending on, um, you know, the, the situation, but I'm, I'm picking two. Next question.
Choose a tortilla. Uh, shit. Corn, flour, hard shell. Definitely not the hard shell.
I okay I've never liked the hard shell taco because it always splits in half and everything's
falling out I just don't like to I just don't like to deal with that so that one's out now
flour or corn now this seems like an obvious answer it should be corn but I love flour tacos
holy shit Jimmy he's making like whining noises right now he's been doing this all day and I
don't know if he's sick or he just discovered like his voice box he's he's what four months
he every every day something new unlocks in his brain where he figures something out about
himself like he finally learned how to roll over and relax on his back and now he's like
making funny noises and whining and trying to like talk to me without barking and so that's
happening right now while I'm trying to fucking build this taco but dude I'm gonna pick flour
tortillas. Oh, bitch. It's not gluten-free though. And I usually like to go for gluten-free
shit, but yeah, the corn tacos are good. This is going to explain. So whatever I choose here
is going to, um, the result of this quiz is about my next major life decision based on what I pick.
so what would the flour tortilla like what kind of result would that give me versus the corn and
that's I do I want to consider that or do I just want to go from the heart dude street tacos are
corn tacos but then the flour taco is super fucking good I'm gonna go I'm gonna go flour
and this is a great thing for me to do right now um because I wasted
my entire life, honestly. Not entire life, but I've wasted so much time sitting in indecision
that I'm at the point now where I like to be quick and concise and decisive and just pick
and go with my first instincts. And I kind of tripped up there on choosing my tortilla between
flour or corn, but I'm going flour. That was my first option. I'm sticking with it.
um nobody's perfectly worth it bitch drink water oh this is a good question this is the best
question what kind of meat do you want
there's i was like is there a vegan option of course there fucking is okay
and i you know i'm not shit talking on that i was vegan for three years so
whatever. I just think it's funny how they're, I just want to make sure it was included.
This is an all-inclusive quiz. Asada, al pastor, pollo, chicken. Wait, do I know this in Spanish?
Fish. Pescado, right? Pescado, pescado, pescado, fish, carnitas. God damn it. I can't do it. I
can't do the accent beef beef or vegetarian vegan now my first instinct here is beef because
the flour taco I picked was a mission grocery a grocery store mission super soft isn't it called
like yeah this the little blue I I'm so um my memory is insane like I remember details like
this about fucking products and they're fucking in the grocery store stop swearing um but the
little blue circle on these mission tortillas says super soft. So I want that one. That's the
one I envisioned. And then I'm picking beef because, okay, the taco wine building is a white
people taco party taco. And this is a tradition in my white family that we do. Whenever the family
gets together and like people come back home, we have a quote unquote taco night, a taco party.
And an email blasts out, hey, everyone come over to the ranch.
My mom calls our place the ranch.
Hey, you know, we're going to make tacos.
And my grandma fries up the, she'll make like the corn ones.
We always fry up corn ones and flour tortillas.
But whenever, like literally my entire life, I'm 26, my entire life, it was that ground beef, taco seasoning from the grocery store, taco packet thrown in there, and on a flour.
taco, like a fucking super soft mission taco and a ton of toppings, which that's the next part of
this. So I don't want to explain toppings yet, but that's where my brain went because I picked
flour taco. But like, if I'm going to Chipotle, okay, wait, that's not exciting. Um, Chipotle is
like, I'm maxed out Chipotle. I feel like I've eaten it. It's like, it's starting to feel like
a school lunch food like when you went to school and ate lunch your whole childhood every year was
the same with the lunch menu and so just like there's really nothing to look forward to that's
how I feel about uh chipotle and honestly their cauliflower rice it's lackluster doesn't really
do much for me I did try it their new cilantro lime cauliflower rice just I don't know I know
they're trying to be all inclusive and include uh items for keto ass people out there that don't
eat carbs but like it wasn't that great so um sorry let me get back to this I'm off topic but
I feel I feel like the the fun thing about quizzes on BuzzFeed is I can I can go on tangents and tell
stories as I'm doing it so then it makes this podcast feel more fun than just me going like
checking off the quiz quickly so I'm looking at a soda al pastor pollo pescado chicken fish I don't
know if those are the right words carnitas beef and vegan vegetarian that's out and dude I fuck
with carnitas so much at Chipotle and then like the al pastor is like the pre I feel like if you're
getting a street taco get an al pastor taco but fish tacos you know I live in San Diego
um you know I'm not from here but I feel like if I was from here that'd be like in my blood
a fish taco dude the taco trucks like now I'm looking at the asada now that's the
yeah like carne asada same shit yeah the chopped up skirt steak right right did I get that right
we used to go to the in my town there's a it says meat shop there's a big sign that says meat shop
this is back in my hometown of Washington it's a Mexican butcher place with like
a bunch of Mexican spices and foods and things and anyways
what am I saying I'm pretty sure my mom we would like make my my brother was obsessed with
carne asada growing up like it was his it was his favorite thing to eat and so my mom like we'd go
to that butcher at the meat shop and then we'd get that I think it was skirt steak anyways looking
at the asada and it's reminding me of the best street tacos I've ever had which are asada cilantro
onions lime that's it I'm pretty sure that's it on a corn tortilla but there are taco trucks all over
my hometown grown up um tons like uh the thing is and I don't know how to I'm just going to say
this how I experienced it and how I observed it I don't know if this is politically correct or the
right or wrong thing to say but for some reason if I even just saying Mexican feels racist just
saying calling out any like group of people sounds racist I'm just saying where I grew up what had a
huge mexican population and i grew up in farmland where they all picked um crops and
they there was we have the uh tulip festival out where i live and they would um harvest the bulbs
and they do all the farming labor and so there were a shit ton of taco trucks these are the
migrant workers and I grew up around them and anyways um the taco trucks I grew up eating at
were um or my favorite thing to go or fucking this is like is this cohesive am I connecting
dots right now or is this just fucking not making sense but my favorite tacos growing up ever were
the asada tacos and it was just like corn tortillas you get it on a styrofoam plate
four or I would get two probably I was little two or four why does it matter and then it was
the the meat the asada cilantro white onions chopped up and then you'd have lime on the side
you squeeze the shit out of it and it was the simplest best thing ever in the world and I feel
like that's every taco truck but that's what I remember so did I even pick a meat um yeah I'm
minute I'm gonna just make my white people taco for this episode for this quiz I'm doing
I'm gonna try to like because whatever I pick is gonna reveal my next decision in life and
I'm trying to be as white trash as possible because who knows maybe I'll get a um hey you're
gonna go become a Walmart manager Jacqueline that's what this fucking quiz is gonna predict
for me so next question sorry what veggies do you want definitely okay this is me making the white
people taco and and when I do that I put everything on it so we're doing onion cilantro oh fuck you
can only pick one I was like onion cilantro tomatoes jalapenos oh I have a button here
so one of the options actually for toppings here is with everything so I'm picking that
yeah so let me go over this because um this is like the toppings part of my taco right now
the white people taco party we have includes so you got the ground beef with the taco packets in
it does everyone use those when they have taco nights like you just use the taco packets the
seasoning mix or do you do you mix your spices together and like I don't know that's what we
would do I think there were the McCormick the McCormick orange packets yeah they're like a
dollar in the spice aisle say they say taco on it so that's what we would use so that was the meat
right then my grandma would be frying up the corn tortillas she'd like fry them in oil in a that was
her that is I'm saying was she's alive uh we still have these parties that's her role at the taco
night she fries up the little corn tortillas she um you know flip they get really bubbly and then
she stacks them up on a plate with a bunch of paper towels in between so those are the corn
tortillas and then we have just that packet that mission white flour super soft packet of tacos
just sitting out uh real you know aesthetic and simple and then the toppings here we go
we've got yes onions cilantro these are all in their individual bowls
on my mom's countertop we got onions cilantro chopped up tomatoes guacamole cheddar no not
cheddar mexican blend cheese like fucking tillamook or craft just like whatever's at the grocery store
um refried beans yes I forgot that oh I fucking love those oh my god I would
literally do everything so I'd have like refried refined beans
beef ground beef onion cilantro tomatoes shredded uh what's it called shredded
cheese oh my god shredded lettuce guacamole uh sour cream and salsa and hot sauce
that's when I'm eating six tacos and I'm wearing sweatpants like that's how much
shit I put on my tacos and I eat six of them like that's what it is when I'm at my white
people taco party so uh shit so those are my topping choices I think that's all we do we might
have what else oh we might have some like black beans or um what else is like a weird
usually there's like a pico de gallo someone brings a pico de gallo I don't know there you
go next question choose your salsa salsa verde salsa roja roja's red right
verde's green I'm like reliving I'm I I'm only Spanish level two in the brain uh I only got
to level two in high school so I don't remember shit very well but
I have a level two understanding of uh Spanish so I'm assuming this is red and green salsa
pico de gallo guacamole I have to pick one of course I'm going guac
how is guacamole part of this salsa question go fuck yourself excuse me buzzfeed I don't know I
just did yoga and that was not, that doesn't add up. Like, how do I turn into this immediately
after? Rest and digest, lower your cortisol, zen out for an hour, move your body in a very
rhythmic way. Yoga is a dance of the mind and the body. Like, how do I go from that
to this telling BuzzFeed to fuck off for including guacamole on a salsa question it's not guacamole
but like if it's on here and I don't have any other options I have to pick no no no no because
my guacamole I'm going back to the previous question was part of my everything with my
everything toppings where I included or I chose that one the answer I picked was have the taco
with everything on top that includes guacamole so if I'm picking a salsa can I have hot sauce
like is there a hot sauce question I need something spicy pico de gallo but I'm at my
white people party what am I doing here honestly I'm adding that pico that my aunt brings so pico
de gallo and I'm pretty sure she's lived in Mexico before she like makes the best pico de gallo so
I'm going with that lime yes next question lime question mark yes dude okay next question I'm
like thinking about how much I want tacos right now it is Tuesday I did see someone post on social
media I saw a millennial acquaintance on social media post taco their taco night and I was like
or taco dinner tonight I was like you know they're doing it I should do it I'm doing taco quiz
and time out real quick uh some of you that are my OGs that were here since September 4th which
is the first day I started podcasting every single day since then okay um you guys know how I tried
to like make it a thing that I eat burritos on Tuesday because I like to be a cringe like for
whatever reason my brain is telling me to do everything the opposite of what's cool or what's
popular or what's trendy and I'm like I'm gonna be a contrarian and I'm gonna eat burritos instead
of tacos because I want to be different so I fucking ordered a burrito every Tuesday and
podcasted for a good month and it's kind of funny how now I'm embracing taco Tuesday and I'm like
well fuck it I don't I don't know her she was new at podcasting and um I don't know I do prefer
like I like burritos burritos in San Diego though like it's just better we have it so good here
honestly those taco truck burritos would be good too damn those mexicans know how to cook
i mean they just they could dude mexican can we just have a moment together right now let's bow
our heads and have a moment of silence for mexican food in our uh in mexico and mexicans and do i say
okay wait sorry back to the being politically correct i'm nervous to even say that thing
do i say hispanics do i say latin people
can i just call mexicans because i'm referring to people from mexico that cook mexican food
that i appreciate and i just want to take a moment here to um reflect on their uh culture
with you guys okay moment of silence
shit all right i think it's the last question yeah last question before i figure out this quiz
this going to tell me what my next life move is based on my answers so last question is wash it
down with a with a beverage dude dude I gotta go with a haritos a haritos haritos an orange a
mandarin haritos those are so fucking good orange it's like an orange soda thing mexican soda
okay definitely not horchata it's not i just
okay i know i just said how much i love mexicans mexican food mexico everything about their
culture okay i know i just said that but like what why do they do so much bullshit um why do
they make so many like milky things what is it dulce de leche is not just like a bunch of
condensed milk uh flan no what's the thing they soak in milk yeah milk and then horchata isn't
that just sweet milk milk milk there's always that one kid in class growing up who pronounces
milk fucking annoyingly and it's always like milk milk hi or or milk fuck that okay dude we would
have um okay flashback sorry sometimes I talk about childhood here I go it's because I'm talking
about like how Mexicans use milk for a lot of their shit and like horchata and just milk right
I don't know I'm speaking out of my ass I really have no clue what horchata is it just looks from
the picture it looks like milk and it's got like berries on top or something I don't know but
part of roll call in elementary school was say you're here. And then he would say
like your milk choice, or if you wanted a milk. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no. It would be like,
okay, I'm here. And then you'd say milk here, milk or, or no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Wait,
I'm thinking of a specific teacher who did this, or it was like, I feel like for my whole elementary
school days it was like this they obviously knew you were here so you don't have to say here and
milk they would say Jacqueline and then I'd say uh milk but if I didn't want it I would just say
here and the teacher would go down each student and so that was your that was like how they
ordered up how much milk to get for lunch or whatever the fuck and I just got annoyed as
like saying milk every day at the beginning of school was just so fucking strange milk
and then we go get that blue carton that half frozen blue carton of two percent i was a two
percent bitch i don't fuck with one percent i never i was or non-fat see the only time i actually
kind of liked the non-fat milk was at my grandparents house because we would eat cereal
after slumber parties the next day and we'd have um they only had like the non-fat but i grew up
on 2% but it's wild like how much milk I'm saying it too much milk I drank in school and then that
you had that chocolate milk day that was like oh my god dude the milk would like freeze up you know
that silver did you guys have that silver refrigerator thing that like the like in in
the lunchroom it was off in the corner and then you before you got your lunch tray it was like
grab a milk, and then, yeah, okay, I know I'm on, I'm on a weird tangent, but shout out elementary
school days, shout out childhood, shout out all the teachers that raised me right, because
look, look at me now, bitches, okay, um, dude, I was so, like, I went to a private Catholic school,
looking back, it was a concentration camp, okay, um, what did I pick for my beverage? Margarita,
beer horchata mexican coke jarritos jarritos jarritos oh dude if i'm eating tacos at the
fam at a white people party we're making margaritas 100 oh fuck oh shit dude got the
result i got the result okay so i chose margarita for my last question if you missed that because
I screamed.
Here's my result from the quiz.
Make a taco and we'll tell you your next major life decision.
You got, colon, write your will.
Yep.
You might think you're too young, but it's time to start thinking about what's going to happen after you leave this world.
What will happen to your money, if you have any?
What will happen to your belongings?
What inside jokes will you leave the people you love?
Who will you put in your will and who will you leave out?
At the very least, writing your will will give you some perspective
as to what's going on in your life right now and what you need to change.
That's fucking, I feel like that's so what I chose.
Like white trash, white people, a taco party.
I picked everything I would eat.
Like this quiz literally says it literally says write your write your will because you're going to become obese after you eat this taco.
You're going to die from heart disease.
That's crazy.
That's dark BuzzFeed.
But I guess the moral of the story is to.
they want me to think about that the fact that writing my will will give me some perspective
as to what's going on in my life right now and what I need to change
dude do I just am I one of those people like I don't even care about okay well I know it's good
to have a will obviously this is like for later in my life but I am approaching 27 um this is
foreshadowing. I mean, am I going to join that club? What is with the 27 club? What is with it?
Like I, dude, should I Google the 27 club? Let's just get into a dark, uh, topic right now. The
27 club. Yeah. What the fuck? Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison. Um,
wasn't it, uh, Juice WRLD, wasn't he 27, or is it like a, who was the recent 20s,
Kurt Cobain, yeah, dude, all these artists, like myself, I consider myself a podcast,
uh, I'm a conversation artist, or whatever the fuck, um, the cultural phenomenon, the 27 club
includes popular musicians, artists, actors, and athletes who have died at age 27, often as a
result of drug or alcohol abuse or finally means such as homicide suicide or okay dude
buzzfeed why'd you give me that write your will result whatever what if i change let's just like
uh hack the system right now and change my margarita answer from the last question to
haritos because i got really excited about the haritos oh you have to reload the page
shit. You can't undo it. Well, fuck it. That was fun. I don't know. Taco Tuesday. This was the,
uh, goal. The goal of this episode was to do a BuzzFeed quiz and talk about, uh,
um, my tacos and like family and where I grew up and my opinions on tacos. But like,
um wow now I gotta order them I have to right taco Tuesday gotta do it I hope you guys had a
great day I hope you enjoyed this episode um again this is a safe place this is a safe space
this is my this is our fun zone together and you know every now and then I don't know if I should
label these episodes as like oh buzzfeed quiz so then you know what you're getting before you start
it because i'm just gonna talk this is literally just gonna be called taco tuesday like or
something about i should say like taco which i title this
eat a taco and die
this tacos kill this a taco almost killed the taco
uh taco see dude you guys are part of the creative behind the scenes podcast host process
right now and I don't give like that is why I love podcasting is because sometimes I take you
behind like I literally put you in my head and say in five minutes when I have to title this
this is my thought process beforehand because I love like well I like to make bullshit titles
I don't think I don't I don't know I'm not trying to do clickbait or whatever but um
death by taco
something dark like that right dude the 27 club though i don't
should i look at a list here we go history.com
oh i'm gonna look up this day in history too and then i'll end the episode to see what happened
today in history yeah what is what the it's kind of creepy Amy Winehouse yeah there's only like a
list of five people here on history.com but okay this day in history let's see it's fun to look
back March 9th most quiet I've been on this entire episode enjoy it holy shit there's a
bunch of Barbies here oh retro Barbies oh the Barbie doll made its debut in 1959 so on this
day march 9th in 1959 barbie rolled out it went on display at the american toy fair in new york
city 11 inches tall with a waterfall of blonde hair barbie was the first mass-produced toy
uh toy doll in the united states with adult features the woman behind barbie was ruth
Handler who co-founded Mattel Inc with her husband in 1945 after seeing her young daughter
ignore her baby dolls to play make-believe with paper dolls of adult women Handler realized there
was a an important niche in the market for a toy that allowed little girls to imagine the future
crazy yeah what was it why so I guess you know when you're when you're a kid like you're you
want you like feeling older and like doing adult things and um I don't know I just like did I enjoy
see guys I didn't like playing with Barbies I liked playing with baby dolls instead like I
preferred the baby over the Barbie and I never I sucked at pretending and playing make-believe
I like it was too in my head about it I was like it just felt awkward to be like hi Barbie hi Ken
we're gonna go to go to you know let's go make out in the bedroom like whatever I just couldn't
get my head I couldn't immerse myself into a fake or what is it called make believe
live action role playing with Barbie's world like I just wanted to decorate their house and then
when I was done with that I'd go pick up my life like looking Costco baby doll what was that one
called dude I loved playing with babies and then I would there was this girl uh she lived in town
by the school I went to I don't even know why I'm remembering this right now but she had like the
best like baby dolls and I just she just had like that playroom there was always that kid why am I
talking so much about childhood but whatever I feel like there was always that house that friend
you had or whatever that family with that house with a playroom that made you feel
like immediately jealous and just like am I what wait why don't I have this what's going on here
um is this what it's I thought we were wealthy what's this like I don't know I didn't really
think about wealth as a kid but like you look at someone else's house in their playroom you're just
like holy shit holy shit I didn't know this was a possibility but yeah this girl's house has it was
like she it was like her parents created they like built her a nursery just for her baby dolls
and like made an entire room of the house for that and it was like you just walked in when you
were I don't know how old I was like 10 and I was like yep I feel like a mom right now and then
you're just like yeah okay so anyways yeah back to the reason i'm even talking about this this day
in 1959 barbie popped out in new york city what else happened something happened in russia
russian bolshevik party becomes the communist party bolshevik cool oh fuck 1916 world war one
on this day in world war one germany declares war on portugal
interesting um you know what i've been wanting to do lately lately
uh i love watching war documentaries and shit on like the history channel and i just need to like
spend a weekend brushing up on my war uh education and history i don't know because
it's so fun like just to like sit back and watch a world war ii doc a hitler doc you know i don't
know i need to put myself back in time and part of something else i want to say so i have two
things this is like my brain hi i just like thought of two things at once i'm gonna write
one of them down and talk about later um but one of the things i want to work on in terms of like
getting my shit together is dedicating the weekend to like educating myself about or like
watching a documentary series for like a whole day about like what I said the wars or his something
in history or reading like buying a book or like reading about it and just like dedicating a
Saturday to that because I don't know sometimes I feel like whenever I so when I podcast I feel
dumb or I feel like I'm very surface with my do I have a fucking low IQ I don't know I just feel
like I need to like enrich my brain with interesting facts about history and like I
should know the story of the world a little bit better than I do and so that's what I'm talking
about so that's part of the series of me getting my shit together so there's something I just
reported that's new top of the brain I want to work on there you go um but anyways this on this
day in 1916. Germany declares war on Portugal. Fascinating. Let's see what else. There's
a lot of stuff that happened war-wise on this day. Supreme Court rules on Amistad slave
ship mutiny case. 1841, that's slavery history. Firebombing of Tokyo, World War II, 1945.
dude on this night march 9th in 1945 u.s warplanes launch a bombing offense a new
bombing offensive against japan dropping 2 000 tons of incendiary incendiary bombs on tokyo
over the course of the next 48 hours almost 16 square miles in and around japan
uh in and around the japanese capital were incinerated and between 80 000
and 130 000 japanese civilians were killed in the worst single firestorm in recorded history
god fucking shit dude like this is why i i just get sad about
i guess life or just whenever i think about war and like what's really happening in history it's
Like, we think it's so bad right now with coronavirus and, like, the state of the world and the economy and all this shit.
And it's, like, compared to 1945, what the fuck?
Like, dude, if you were in Japan, 130,000 Japanese civilians were killed over two days in Tokyo.
Wait, am I getting this right?
The firebombing of Tokyo, March 9th of 1945.
u.s warplanes we're like we're freaked out that we or we're all pissed off about the drone strike
on syria it's like okay but um what the fuck like what look what we were doing in the in the 40s
16 square miles which isn't that much right no dude i want to look up at google images
fire bombing see right now i'm enriching my brain with history war history fun yeah
funny yeah fuck yeah holy shit black and white photos are still dramatic okay yep damn dude
it's like
and then I see the planes in the sky dropping the bombs I'm like this is actually like this
actually happened my brain like it it doesn't know how to
process it or whatever because like i watch plane i live in san diego i watch planes land
all day long and i'm just imagining like a bunch of planes just like oh can't do anything about it
they're just over us right now and then all of a sudden shit's falling out of them and then
i'm dead 130 000 people are and the whole city's flattened just like that that's that's real that
happened it's I feel that this whole bombing a city thing makes me feel so vulnerable just like
thinking about that's a possibility that a plane could just like fuck shit up with that I don't
know so there we just learned some history and then here we're gonna pivot from war to spa life
with Jacqueline um I'm gonna end the episode with one thing that has changed my life and my mindset
And, you know, the last couple weeks of me trying to get back, just get my self together, like get myself back to, honestly, it's like, I feel like I'm having a glow up.
I'm on the, I'm on that glow up journey a little bit. And I started, um, telling myself,
this is my new mindset. I've been telling myself or thinking or envisioning that I'm on vacation
and I'm in a hotel. And how would I, what would I do? This makes, this might be confusing,
stay with me like imagine you're in a hotel you're on vacation like how would you conduct
business with yourself like how would you go about your uh time in the in the room and the reason
I've had to do this is because I've I told you guys something that is kind of embarrassing and
just like not something I'm proud of as a 26 year old woman who's like got her shit together in
pretty much every other way except this is I sucked like for a long time and I think it's
because of 2020 and like just kind of throwing in the towel a little bit I've been slacking off
with my self-care routines and like putting effort into like my me time and my quiet one-on-one time
with myself like massaging oils all over my body and like sitting in my bathrobe and basking around
and just like being chill I'm normally wound up all the way until I pass out on my phone just
like on TikTok watching a YouTube podcast um you know going off on my computer on Amazon just
looking at random shit and it's like all the way up until I sleep I'm just not really there's not
I shut down time so my new mindset or my new story I'm telling myself every evening is
take a hot steaming shower which is like here's the thing I would like do everything quick at
night for my nighttime routine jump in the shower wash my face put on my make my skincare stuff
really quick and like go into bed it wasn't a it wasn't a enjoyable experience so now
candles are lit I take a hot shower I have a giant heavy spa bathrobe I put on after and then
I've you know moisturized I've put on everything you know I've like gotten all slicked up and
you know my towels on my head and then I do my skincare routine and I take a lot of time to put
on my retinol. Cause I know it needs more time than just like two seconds. Like I was doing before
and guys, I'm like flossing my teeth like five times a day now. It's great. Um, but then after
that I go and just chill on my bed. Cause like, imagine you're in a hotel room. This is what I
love about being on vacation and being in a hotel. You take that hot steaming shower, you put on the
bathrobe, you're, you know, all cleaned up at the very end of the day. And then there's something
about laying in a bathrobe on a bed and then you have like so all my shit is like white
my down comforter my down pillows everything's like fluffy and cozy and then I just like lay
there and that's my bedtime routine now and I feel like um I know I'm spending a lot of time
explaining this but like look this is the shit you see like this is the thing I feel like oh
Jacqueline that's like 101 how to be a woman and like take care of yourself and that's why I'm
embarrassed because before I was just kind of like doing everything fast and I wasn't
I just wasn't good at it and I kind of slacked off with myself and so whatever I'm I'm doing
it again it feels great and I'm pretending I'm on vacation and I've traveled somewhere and
I don't know it seems ridiculous but there's my latest life update all right
