Starting point is 00:01:20 I've had a flop of a day. I don't know how to explain it. I just feel dope. Don't dopey. I don't know. And I have this, I think, you know, and another random thing is like, I have this stupid song stuck in my head from a play I was in, in like fourth grade called the King and I. And so like all day long, I've been singing to myself and I just feel like, I don't know, today's been weird. It's kind of foggy or not foggy, cloudy here in San Diego. And the lighting has been weird. shall we dance on a bright cloud of music shall we shop anyways um some stupid fucking song like that I don't know whatever we're gonna hang out tonight um basically I'm gonna go I'm gonna browse the internet and narrate what I'm doing because I want to check in with current events news
Starting point is 00:02:15 and all the hot topics happening in the world today because I haven't done that yet. I just worked all day, walked Jimmy and chilled. So here we go. Where do we want to start? I'm going to pick, what is it called? Choosing my own journey here on google.com. CNN, bitch, let's go. Who died today uh okay I'm I'm always overwhelmed when I go to new sites there's so much to read so many tabs so much to read oh fucking coinbase ipo'd I didn't even I didn't even read about that okay here we go um coinbase ipo everything you need to know boom um blah blah blah here we go Coinbase is the talk of Wall Street on Wednesday as the largest crypto platform in the US gears up for its public debut on a traditional exchange arriving via a direct listing rather than a more traditional initial public offering. So did it IPO today?
Starting point is 00:03:26 I don't know. I just like saw a bunch of clubhouse rooms about the Coinbase IPO. like every other room on clubhouse is bitcoin bitcloud nfts 101 fucking and i i saw a lot of coinbase things today so um coinbase whose users primarily deal in bitcoin and ethereum reported last week that its revenue soared 840 percent in the first quarter to 1.8 billion dollars and that is now and that it now has 56 million verified users I am one of them my verified user do you have to get verified on coinbase like fucking instagram I don't get it dude it's so fun the more I like the more I learn
Starting point is 00:04:15 about the stock market and crypto and all this shit it makes money seem so fake it just makes everything feel like you're playing a video game and you're, you're just like moving little pieces of a puzzle around. It's kind of like, how do I, what do I compare this to? It's like, you've got a Rubik's cube and every day when you're investing more money into your stocks or crypto or whatever it is, you're moving shit around. It's like, you're moving the Rubik's cube a couple, you're like making moves on the Rubik's cube. I don't know how to, it makes sense of my brain, but I don't know. It's when things are completely digital, it's not like we're stacking our dollar bills anymore. And like, anyways. Um, okay. So that happened. Uh, that
Starting point is 00:05:02 still didn't really give me an answer. Uh, wait, what is clubhouse? Wait, hold on. Let me read this. There's also some news about clubhouse that came out. Um, again, we're just going to hang out tonight and I'm gonna go I'm going on the internet to read about what's happening in the world and you're coming along with me because it's the end of the day it's like 7 30 I actually need to so the things I have to do today still are uh I have like four mugs so specific I have like some I have like four dishes to clean I have 5,000 steps to finish and then I still have to do yoga I fucked up and at 5 p.m after I was done working I just I napped I don't know I was I had a weird day you know so usually at five I do yoga and I
Starting point is 00:05:55 napped instead and so now I have to like fit it in at like 8 8 30 so it's fine um I used to love that back when I went to a studio I liked late night classes especially on the weekends like I do a late sunday night a late sunday night yin yoga flow and i would just like pass out basically the whole time and sleep and then i'd drive home and like and it would it made me sleep so good so anyways um here we go clubhouse discusses funding at about four billion dollar value that's the headline clubhouse the buzzy audio based social network is in talks to raise funding from investors and around valuing the business at about $4 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Let me keep reading this. A deal at that price would quadruple its value from January and would reflect the astronomical expectations investors have for the app. Clubhouse is barely a year old, but has drawn appearances from some of the biggest names in business in Hollywood and inspired copycats from several of the worlds it cuts off this is just like a insta post someone did yeah I was I was in a room today and Paris Hilton for like why do I say why do I say her name weird Paris Hilton I saw her like little uh like square pop up on stage for like half a second
Starting point is 00:07:29 and then she got out and it's funny because I love when I love when celebrities creep around clubhouse and sometimes I find myself in rooms and I'm like it's I'm in the section like the followed by the speaker section and then I'm next to like yeah like a Paris Hilton type of celebrity and it's so it's so strange like it doesn't I don't know they're just like us celebs they're just like us they want to sit in and listen to the conversation and um by the way I was in a really great room last night I don't know why I'm talking I shit on clubhouse all the time I talk it up all the time I don't know how I feel about it still really but uh pros and cons to everything right but I was really happy to see a room last night about the the club or whatever was called healthy
Starting point is 00:08:15 debates and the topic last night was like a neutral or an objective or something a discussion about black lives matter and like they were talking about these recent police shootings and recent um the racism in this country and how and everyone was chiming in and talking about it a lot of people started talking about capitalism and it was interesting to listen to and it was nice to see people disagreeing and still being able to like carry a civil conversation conversation along and uh yeah I was just sitting in the room listening to it and I learned I learned a lot and I think a couple of days ago I said that I said after all this after this shooting happened Sunday I said you know I threw out my opinions about it but um I like to sit and listen to
Starting point is 00:09:06 another opinion I like to listen to what other people are saying I can better understand the world that way and other and how other people um you know think and it's healthy it's all good you want to hear you don't want to just be one what is it called narrow-minded okay dude i'm not a i'm not an influencer what am i doing am i trying to do a this podcast what am i even what am i even doing oh clubhouse ipo was i gonna look up that anyways um i wanted to read more about that from the article or let's move on back to cnn so this the officer who shot dante right is going to appear in court tomorrow kim potter charged with second degree manslaughter posted bail wednesday
Starting point is 00:09:56 and was released from custody let's let's read about this i'm your news reporter tonight that's what's happening do you guys think samia dm do you think it was a complete fucking accident or an intentional murder do you think she purposely shot him or it was a complete accident what's your opinion samia dm all right for the fourth night in a row protesters gathered at the brooklyn center police station to demonstrate over the killing of 20 year old dante right a black man i gotta look that up do journalists is is including race required in journalism okay because i'm heated i hate this shit i hate how everything's about they always have to like point out the race now
Starting point is 00:10:57 race and the newsroom when was this published 2020 I wish you know what oh it's in my I have this um I have all my college uh like books still and the this what is it called um I wish I could look up I could google the name of it and it would break down like the uh specific details and like when you write an article the specifics you have to include based on the type of article it is what is that called it's a fucking ap ap style ap style uh journalism yes ap style journalism uh let me go images to see if i recognize ap style journalism uh race race race-related coverage here we go I just want to know like because I keep seeing it whenever I
Starting point is 00:11:57 read these articles I keep seeing like comma a black man or comma a black woman or you know it or it's not like you ever see like when they report news I don't I don't know maybe it's because they I don't know I don't see like a white person I don't see when whenever it's a white person, I don't see them include that, it's always when it's a, it's a, I don't know, like an Asian, a black person, Mexican, okay, here we go, um, AP, this is apstylebook.com, so here's the official thing, race-related coverage, reporting and writing about issues involving race calls for thoughtful consideration, precise language, that's it, bitch, that precise journal they are if you're a journalist it's all about that precise language you can't fuck it up
Starting point is 00:12:48 you can't mess up your punctuation your spelling especially people's names it's great i hated it and i'm so glad i didn't continue journal like being a journalist okay precise language and an openness to discussions with others of diverse backgrounds about how to frame coverage or what language is most appropriate accurate and fair identity identifying people by race and reporting on actions that have to do with race often go beyond simple style questions challenging journalists to think broadly about racial issues before having to make decisions on specific situations and stories in all coverage not just race-related coverage strive to accurately represent the world
Starting point is 00:13:31 or a particular community and its diversity through the people you quote and depict in all formats emissions and lack of inclusion can render people invisible and cause anguish is that a suggestion then like you want to so it says you want to strive to accurately represent the world so when you write these an article when someone dies i guess you include race uh no matter what? Uh, I don't know. You always capitalize it. Do they have, so like the only examples APstylebook.com gives here are, here we go. Uh, dual heritage, African American, Asian American, brown, biracial, multiracial, transracial, Chicano, Latino, Latina, Hispanic, American Indians, Native Americans, Orient, Oriental, Indigenous, Aborigine, ghetto, ghetto is interesting,
Starting point is 00:14:45 reverse discrimination, so those are, oh, where, do they, do they have anything about
