Starting point is 00:00:00 what's up guys happy wednesday it's episode 257 welcome back to the show hey what's up welcome back to the show it's Jacqueline hi hit that subscribe button I'm here seven days a week um I'm prepared today I'm prepared today I've curated curated I've curated some TikToks. I'm going to play the audio for you. And then I'm going to riff or I'm going to talk about them after I play them. And in honor of Christina and Tom from your mom's house, I mean, they do, this is their thing, but these are not funny TikToks or disgusting TikToks like there's, these are, um, like deep, like universe, uh, like what do I have here? The law of causality and like a Japanese researcher rice experiment thing. Um, uh, oh, I'm going to
Starting point is 00:01:23 start with a light one. This is a light one that, um, one of my friends DM me a quote related to this TikTok he said it reminded me of um he's like this quote reminds me of you because I I we had like a really long conversation was it last summer and caught up and we talked until like I don't know like I feel like we talked on the phone for six hours anyways um I told him I was like why don't why don't I have fun like I do I want to go on this story time right now or like I find myself bored a lot in situations that I'm I feel like I'm supposed to be having fun I've used the example like DJ on the yacht or um what's like another typical thing that I don't know just like clubbing even and um festive high energy drunken um loud music type
Starting point is 00:02:26 situations um yeah like I'm not there like I'm like I don't want to be here I'd rather be home like I don't have fun that much at these in these situations and I feel like in life it's not about it's about who you're with it's about the people people you're with and I can admit and I can say and it's just the way it is I don't feel like I've found those people yet and for the longest time I've been in like, I feel like I've been transitioning or in transit with different friend groups and different people my whole life. And like, especially since I moved to San Diego and like, I'm still on that journey of like, who are my people? And like, who can I just like, cause then you're up all night, you're having those crazy outings and adventures and it's fun
Starting point is 00:03:13 and you're enjoying yourself. And I feel like, um, and I don't really like, I don't know, I don't want to storytell that much right now, but, um, anyways, the quote he sent me that is related to this first TikTok I'm going to play today is, um, he wrote, had a thought yesterday that made me think of you. So in quotes, so you don't really go out. And then my, and then it's like, what, what said that is my own brain is way more fun than most people cringe I know cringe like oh full of yourself like like you like like you just what a narcissist like your own brain is more fun than people than most people but it's kind of like that I don't know I'm very whatever this is the TikTok let's just cut to the chase this is the TikTok
Starting point is 00:04:10 and I was like damn this I felt this I wonder if anyone out there will feel it too here we go so i don't like most people right wait let me start over is that loud enough come on iphone okay so i don't like most people right i would just rather hang out with myself than hang out with other people and my dad was just pointing out that he likes to hang out with me and i was saying yeah me too i also like to hang out with me and then i went hang on i also like to hang out with my dad because when i hang out with my dad i get to hang out with me and my dad and then I've realized that there are some people who want to hang out with them. I don't get to hang out with me too. I only hang out with them and I've just realized why burnout occurs. Okay. So I know
Starting point is 00:04:55 that was a lot of the same phrase over and over again, hanging out with me, hang out. Um, that's it. That's why I feel like I, when I hang out with my family, I love hanging out with my family and I love love hanging out with myself because Jimmy do you want your kibble there you go I moved his crate because I'm doing something in my living room he needs to get in yeah hungry hungry hungry um yeah I've concluded her so far like I love hanging out obviously with myself and then my family because when I'm when I hang out with my sister for example I also get to hang out with myself it's kind of like a weird concept but I hope this makes sense um same goes for my brother especially and my mom and my dad everyone in my family cousins grandparents I feel like I
Starting point is 00:05:46 get to also hang out with myself but when I'm with certain groups of people or friends I don't get to hang out like she said I don't get to hang out with me I get to hang out with them because they it's like they're energy sucking and then or you don't feel like you can be you 100% and then that's draining because you're like you're having to act different and you're having to like edit yourself and adjust how you're acting and what you're saying what you're doing to like mold better with them and like that I feel like that explains it so well like or that TikTok did um uh explains like what I told my friend uh that during that phone call last summer um about how I had that realization I'm like why am I like this why am I like this why is this me
Starting point is 00:06:39 why am I yawning on a yacht like why can't I just be in the moment have fun and like enjoy it like that I think I just don't enjoy um I don't know I'm like fucking I'm kind of grandma what the hell I don't know and I because it's the whole like I feel like I should be having fun thing it's like I should I should I should I should be don't get me wrong like I've like I'm not a bump on a log I'm not a bump on a log but um it's like in those environments that I in those situations where it's all about being drunk and looking hot I'm not really there I'm in my head the whole time in the past like that's what I'm saying or that's what I've experienced I'm like and that's I'm changed now so I feel like if I honestly this is what I think it is if I went
Starting point is 00:07:32 back into those at those went back to those types of outings and excursions and adventures and parties like because of the way I am now and because I've I feel like I love myself now like fully and I beat my own insecurities up and I don't deal with that stuff in my head anymore I think I would actually be able to just like say you know let loose and just actually enjoy the experience but um some people though are so like energy sucking and like you leave and you're just like you're exhausted by them anyways so yeah there's the first TikTok let me play the second one I think we're gonna do oh this is so good um she explained it it's something where you hear it and you're like
Starting point is 00:08:24 where's her award like standing ovation let me find it it's so perfect um and I didn't really get it it honestly kind of confused me come on camera roll oh I just go to videos I need to like sort or I'm like sorting through pictures and videos just go to videos let me look for her face um how's your Wednesday how's your week me saving a TikTok of a girl getting out of a car because her pants are so fucking hot and it's a reminder to me I'm like first of all um I want to be her but I also want those pants and so I need to like put that I need to put those um type of pants in my in like a shopping cart on Amazon or on a list or something just to like remind me that I want to have a pair of those um oh and I just learned I
Starting point is 00:09:22 learned on TikTok I'm such a boomer I'm such a fucking millennial boomer um I just learned that that you can save videos within TikTok. You don't have to download them to your phone. So I've been this entire time, actually more so recently, since I got my new iPhone, I've been saving the videos to my camera roll. And instead of saving them to TikTok, so I can just like look there if I want to go back to them. Anyways, I'm gonna find it any second. oh my gosh it can't be that that old where is it okay i found it it's two minutes it's worth it here we go this is by china mclean on tiktok have y'all ever heard of the theory of general relativity it's what einstein is famous for in his calculations he started to realize that the
Starting point is 00:10:20 universe was not eternal it had a beginning now this leads us to the law of causality everything that came to be needs a cause so einstein clearly knew that if the universe had a beginning it needed a cause let's go to the big bang theory there was no space no time and no matter before the big bang the universe emerged out of nothingness what does that mean since it's impossible for the universe to be able to create itself because it didn't exist in order to be able to create itself nature and the universe itself was just a big effect that was caused by what do We left with an extremely powerful, extremely intelligent, precise, given the precision that our universe was created with, personal entity that is capable of existing outside of time,
Starting point is 00:11:09 space, and matter. That can't be nothing but God. And for people that are like, okay, well, how do you know that it's like Christianity's God? There's only one God, but there's a very famous astronomer named Robert Jastrow. His credentials as a scientist are impeccable. Being agnostic, he's not even a Christian. He said that all of the essential elements of the Big Bang Theory line up with biblical creation. Because this is how God works. God speaks something, and then science runs to catch up with what he said. Science doesn't create anything.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Science studies creation. Let me just answer a question that I always get. Who created God? What'd I say? I said everything with a beginning. Everything that came to be needs a cause. God didn't come to be. God is eternal the way a lot of people thought the universe was until science disproved it
Starting point is 00:11:56 so God doesn't need a cause or a creator he is the cause the universe is the effect don't just take my word for it go look into it for yourself one more thing evidence is not a substitute for faith following God is not a matter of evidence or proof it's a matter of the will you have to want to do it so you can have the peace that you're looking for and if you don't want to make that choice no amount of evidence is going to convince you to you have to want to jesus christ well i mean how do i follow that or like oh my god um yeah the whole god exists outside of time i think she said time space and matter is insane it's like I don't even know what to say I don't even I don't even get it honestly I'm just like I get
Starting point is 00:12:48 it but I don't where do what um like everything that came to be needs a cause um and so god what where the universe is the effect what did she say I don't even know you guys heard it honestly you know when you're reading a book and you don't you read the page and then you like didn't comprehend it I just played that TikTok in the I was concentrating so much on holding it to the microphone well that I didn't really like retain everything she said but I have a note here I could look up the laws of law of causality and look at look into this a little more yeah everything that needs to be or everything that came to be needs a cause so yeah that's okay my mind was going places when i first saw this
Starting point is 00:13:38 about how god or whoever created this exists outside of it exists outside of time space and matter like they're not it's like and it's eternal like the universe isn't eternal like we all thought we proved that science proved that to be wrong um I don't know it's it's freaky I know this is like a late night 2 a.m conversation I have and I'm doing it at a weird time of day but like let me just look up the law of causality it's like I already said it yeah um what if i type in some of her words god exists outside time it's just like i don't even know i'm not like well versed in any of it and i just don't even know
Starting point is 00:14:36 like i need to i need to bounce something off of another person right now instead of trying to come up with it in my head and like i'm like why was i so intrigued by this tiktok because i was i was like shook i think it's because she was just so clear about every little point she was making um or the part where science um follows god and science studies creation and like what's in the bible is like what has happened or i don't even know um something like that and there's obviously like some overarching god source whatever you want to call it in control of all this there's got to be there's got to be there i mean like you know you know what
Starting point is 00:15:24 what if it's like a team a squad of like six i don't even know i i don't i don't i think yesterday I had to answer a question on my I did like a Q&A thing and one of them was what makes you more what puts you in fear or what makes you scared the more you get older or whatever like as you get older what makes you more scared and scared and scared okay I like not death necessarily but just like what I'm like weirded out recently by what's going on here and like why we're here and what all this is what this planet is and what this universe is and what the solar everything like what is I really like I've been in my I've
Starting point is 00:16:18 been thinking a lot about it and I think it's because of TikTok obviously but um yeah I always say like i hope when we die we figure it out i hope that's what we get when we die like here here's the answer to the universe it's like the question of all time um it's like so beyond like comprehension i don't even know i'm not in i'm not i don't know should we play another tiktok jesus um um so yeah shout out what was her name china mccain let me look again china china mcclain on tiktok oh i love this other tiktok about every day we're walking around um in someone's idea here i'll play it it's cool
Starting point is 00:17:13 yeah you're walking around in somebody's idea that's how you know thoughts are powerful like we're sitting into like this chair was somebody's idea to make it look like this and the cushions to be this soft and these shoes like you're just constantly surrounded by other people's ideas and i think the really cool thing about free will is contributing your ideas back into the infrastructure of what's already going on so i'm looking around my desk right now what did jimmy just pick up is that my slipper um it's like a chew toy it's fluffy like a chew toy jimmy get down bud um yeah i'm looking around my desk right now and i'm like somebody there are so many ideas around me this table this ring light this jar this perfume this
Starting point is 00:18:06 candle this crystal this I'm not a crystal girl I just have one and I got it when I was like 12 and I've had it ever since then so I don't really know what it does but it's pink I think it's rose quartz so um it's not the love quartz or like love rock anyways I've got like yeah all of these objects around me a camera my macbook a book full of ideas like written word um that would be crazy if to like trace back oh this is so insane to think about like look around right now and imagine I don't know like this you imagine sitting every person that came up with the idea of the object sitting around you in the same room like I don't know like what's the story man how did you what
Starting point is 00:19:09 did you think about doing I don't know this isn't actually is that it that excited is that exciting is that interesting it's just weird like how else do I want to think about this and then the guy at the end of that tiktok said i think the cool thing about what do you say like freedom of choice or whatever is contributing back contributing ideas back yeah i don't know we're just like one giant idea ball here everyone's just like making shit every single day um yeah like okay the brain i don't know like here let me just like get a go even deeper it's like we're so
Starting point is 00:19:58 chaotic here we're so chaotic first off we have all of these disgusting bodily functions that we deal with all the time chaos we will die if we don't drink water like why water you know like what's that? Why water? Why is the planet full of water? Why are we full of water? What's going on with water? Um, and then our, like our little voice in our head all day goes on and it's, it's all, it's like nothing in it is really cohesive. It's like, you could be thinking, um, it's like those, that TikTok trend where people are like, they'll be at the gym and then they'll caption like the thoughts in their head while they're working out. And it's just like, um oh that lunch sucked my lunch sucked today or uh what's why does that person why are those
Starting point is 00:20:54 person shorts weird or um what is my dog gonna die soon and like all this random stuff and anyways it's like that's so chaotic we're all we're just like a big messy jumbled and then on top of that oh my god there's just so many things there are so many things this is sounding really broad and just like conceptual or like i don't even know so there's just so it's so complex it's not like a little um we're not like a it's like chestnut checkers
Starting point is 00:21:33 like i'm looking out my window right now and i'm like that that's a house that's a house there are so many nails involved go they're like in wood and like pipes and electricity that has to be properly connected to the electricity in underground and like there's a sewer and oh my god like and then someone's hired to be a plumber and like there's a septic system uh removal waste removal whatever that's called person that has to apply for a job as a shit sucker what's it called when you suck up a septic tank whatever they had to go find that job posted and then apply and then you know like there's just so many layers here and so many like everything's connected though
Starting point is 00:22:31 I sound like this is so um I hate when I listen to podcasts and it's like dude just smoke a joint and keep it to yourself like I'm not high like I'll just prep I'm not but I just feel insane when I because I can just sit here and go on and on and on and I keep I can keep adding what else is weird and why is like when here's what it is when you get really specific when you really think about stuff it's it's a lot to it's just like a lot to your my brain like short circuits and malfunctions and like everything makes sense everything's connected it's all like we have organisms in our gut that like live and eat things like there are more What did I hear?
Starting point is 00:23:26 There are more bacteria in our gut than there are stars in the galaxy. No, no, it's not that. It can't be. There are more bacteria in our gut than there are grains of sand on the planet or something. And then there's a simulation conversation we could have. It's just like, I think I talked a few days ago about like, why aren't we pixels? Why aren't we little squares combined? Why do we have little mitochondria nucleus nuclei and like blood pumping and organs that
Starting point is 00:24:06 are gross and like, you know, mushy brains that are captaining, they're piloting, piloting a butcher shop underneath them. Like what are, like we're literally walking butcher, like we're a meat, we're meat sacks. Why? Why? Why? Why? Curiosity killed the cat. Jacqueline, move on. Another TikTok. Let's play one.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Wait, let me look up that rice experiment. Japanese researcher, Dr. Masaru. It's kind of like the same thing as the plant that you talk nicely to. um having a good life versus the plant you talk meanly to and it dies but it's rice and i think which which is crazy because it's not like alive you know what i mean it's just like well we don't i don't know i mean it's got i mean dude inside oh my god rice under a microscope oh my god i've never done this oh my god like what's happening inside starch grains okay cool but the Dr. Masaru Rice
Starting point is 00:25:33 Dr. Masaru Emoto Rice Experiment powerofpositivity.com a lot of people are doing this oh my gosh a lot of people are doing it's like an experiment this is this is like if I was back in sixth grade and I had to do a science project I would do this I don't know why I didn't but my science projects were um I made a volcano baking soda and vinegar actually it was it was probably it was so cool because I made it huge but what are my other science experiments oh I told you guys the story of my rat race my rat, mouse, and hamster race that was a massacre within like five minutes of bringing the rodents home from the pet store. I think, yeah, let me refresh that story.
Starting point is 00:26:26 My science experiment was, or I wanted to see if a, like which, like if a rat, a mouse, or a hamster like which one would figure out the maze and run through it the fastest like put them to the test right and yeah I got home from Petco and I was like in the kitchen I think eating dinner and I hear a squeal and I realized that I think the rat escaped and ate the hamster and then the mouse died and I forget how the mouse died I think the rat also escaped again and got the mouse and that was my own like I didn't secure the back or I didn't secure the cages properly um it was they were completely mutilated like it was rats are crazy like it was really uh difficult for me to see um and deal with that's what was I in sixth grade seventh
Starting point is 00:27:28 grade um so then I just had a rat and I and that's what I I just I think I ended that project with just a rat and then I changed my hypothesis to something else anyways um but back but looking back I'd rather I wish I did this rice experiment so basically it's pretty straightforward Or let me read about the specific experiment he did. Give a little history background here. A grain of truth recreating Dr. Emoto's rice experiment. Because I've got to tell you what happened to the rice. That's the exciting part.
Starting point is 00:28:19 oh no mom is calling hi can I call you back I'm podcasting right now mom no answer hello I think she butt dialed me I hope she's okay I'll text her she'll probably say butt dial um dr emoto gained international fame from the film what the bleep do we know which praised his experiments on the cellular structure of water maybe you remember this drama maybe you remember this dramatization in which science docent describes doesn't describe emoto's experiments. That's a word I don't know. D-O-C-E-N-T. Docent? Anyways, and a creepy guy creeps on Marley Mart. This isn't about the rice. So basically, the pictures are showing jars of
Starting point is 00:29:27 rice um one jar was told every single day i hate you and the other jar was told i love you and i think the third jar yeah most people include a third jar is neutral like they don't say anything to the jar so the love jar like some sort of condensation is happening here or something How does that rice become fluffy without water added? I feel like, do they add water? The I Love You jar looks great. It's white. It looks edible.
Starting point is 00:30:10 It looks like rice you get at your favorite restaurant. It's great. It's in perfect shape. Nothing's wrong with it. And it was told, I love you, every single day. Then the Nothing jar is just kind of like, blah. like it doesn't have any it's kind of yellow like it doesn't really have it's not very vital looking and like healthy it's just like and then the rice in the I hate you jar is black
Starting point is 00:30:41 and like moldy and like rotting and and there's like what's it called like mold happening in it I don't know the actual properties here, but from the pictures, like, it's looking ratchet. Like, this is not edible rice. She's calling me again. Mom, can I call you back? I'm podcasting. Hey, did you call me? No.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Oh, I must have butt dialed you. Yeah, I think you butt dialed me. It's okay. Oh, I'm sorry. No, no, I'm going to, hey, I'm going to get home tonight and go to bed. Yeah, no, I feel it. um I'm yeah I'm just podcasting and all I'll call you tomorrow or whenever yeah okay okay take care love you bye bye um anyways um where was I so that's crazy whoa so yeah like if you
Starting point is 00:31:41 talk nicely this is like the power of this explains or Jimmy's trying to give me his llama now Jimmy I know you want to play oh you're so this is like like how how are you real you're so cute let me take a picture this is like actually one of those moments where you've never looked this cute Jimmy oh my god oh my god I'm gonna post this he's like a teddy bear now he's at this he's in the teddy bear stage of his growth where he's kind of chunky he's getting his fluff like he's really fluffy and he's thick like he's just thick all around and heavy like when he cuddles with me it's like there's a he's got to be like 50 pounds and he's just yeah he's a lot more cuddly and
Starting point is 00:32:31 he's like my little teddy bear um let me go to powerofpositivity.com I'm sure they've got a nice description here of what's going on what you are about to read may shock you or it might be something you already know. Either way, keep your mind open and receptive to this discovery and how you can apply the effect of the results to improve your daily life. Hado, H-A-D-O, creates words. Words are the vibrations of nature. Therefore, beautiful words create beautiful nature. Ugly words create ugly nature. This is the root of the universe, and that was said by Dr. Masaru Emoto. Hado, what is Hado? It's the expression meaning wave and move. The smallest unit of energy, the basis of energy for human consciousness.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Deep. We're talking about human consciousness, human consciousness. We talked about the universe before and I didn't, I was so clunky with that That law of causality thing, I didn't even know what to say. I was just like, it's lit. It's crazy. We don't know. God's outside of the universe. Space-time matter, something like that.
Starting point is 00:33:53 And wow, that's, it's lit. Now I'm like, we're talking about human consciousness and Hato. The premise is simple, yet profound. Water is a reflection of us. What did I say earlier? Why water? Some say that Dr. Masaru Emoto has introduced a revolutionary yet natural idea that water is a direct reflection of human words and thoughts. Speaking of that.
Starting point is 00:34:33 I haven't done that in like four months. I have a glass of water next to me. I'm a little parched. as I you know when you read you get a little bit um you get sticky with your your mouth gets kind of dry or excuse me when you podcast uh when you talk an entire episode okay let me find some like scientific explanations here please like I want to know why what's going on with the rice that you say i hate you too like what's happening within the rice what's how where's the explanation of this this is such a short blog post like i need psychologists have repeatedly
Starting point is 00:35:25 shown that our mindset and words have a profound effect on our body and those around us it is is it possible that our powerful mind and speech also has an effect on the elements of our universe too dr emoto certainly seems to think that they do what do you think i've said this before i feel like healthy happy people look healthy and happy what am i saying like you know when you see an unhealthy person versus a healthy person like there's a like their physical body and face and everything is a reflection of their mind right like that's a reflection of their thoughts they're and then also like their um their nutrition and like how they're
Starting point is 00:36:17 fueling their body and every like it's crazy like you are like yeah you you become literally you eat a pineapple you become a pineapple you are what you eat like that like you you become a pineapple when you eat an apple you become an apple you eat a chicken nugget you become a chicken nugget like i really believe that i really believe that food is medicine i've always well not in 2020 what uh jesus christ like the amount of like trash food i consumed in 2020 is so disturbing when i look back but when in rome when when in a pandemic postmate order whatever say fuck it and i did and i gained 20 pounds and here we are
Starting point is 00:37:05 we're looking hot though we're uh doing yoga we're getting our steps in we're drinking our water no but seriously back to what i said like there's such a difference on the look of someone's face who's like pounding vegetables and like you know what I mean versus someone that's like eating fast food every day like what was this um our mindset and words have a profound effect on our body why did I bring but they also like when my family came to the rescue last summer when my mom's sister visited me and they're like like I literally I look at my family and I'm like my siblings are like I I they for two different reasons I feel like I've explained this story before but like my brother called me out of my bullshit so many times to the point of like he's
Starting point is 00:38:08 right and he's I need yes you're correct and I need to uh change like I need to work on this part of myself because he kept calling me out kept calling me out kept calling me out and it was always making me annoyed I was like you're like stop being like that why are you know and yeah so he really helped me with my like I don't know just like to be more myself like he helped me get to that point the point I am now where I'm I fully accept myself I'm not insecure about myself anymore and the ways I was before um do I have insecurities now like I still hold on to a few in the back pocket we all do but not the ones that were crippling those ones are fucking dead those are gone those are so me early 20s and in the past so so yeah I I owe him a lot
Starting point is 00:39:03 for that or whatever I can I'm so grateful for him for my brother for that and then my sister so back to what I was saying about how we look um based on our thoughts and our mindset like my sister literally said she's like Jacqueline like you look like shit like you need help like something's wrong and that's when I was last summer and the whole all of last spring god I started out 2020 on such a high I think a lot of us did we're like 2020 2020 vision Um, and then boom, I didn't, I didn't respond well to losing my job and like being cooped up and like, like go, I just didn't, I wasn't, I didn't persevere. And I, I think I, a lot of my past negative behaviors and negative self-talk resurfaced and yeah, I spiraled into really
Starting point is 00:40:04 dark deep depression and then they came and visited me for my birthday and sat me down and it was one of the most insane intense like conversations like three women just like we're we're all so all three of us are so like strong we're all so headstrong and like um a little stubborn we can all be a little stubborn but like we say shit like it is. We keep each other in check. And yeah, she called me out and then I got help. And then here I am. I'm so much, I'm like, I three, six years, I know I 180 in my life in my mental health and my mindset to the point where now I'm like unbreakable. I'm fucking invincible. I'm, I'm amazing. I'm capable of any thing I dream. I love myself. I'm excited about
Starting point is 00:40:55 my life now I yeah like everything I mean yes I have my days but for the most part I'm and then I think I look better like I don't know like I'm not super I'm not I don't know I I think just like when I look when I say I look better it's like you know when you look in the mirror like there's like a vibe you get with yourself it's like a little like hey you like what's up like how are you doing and I'm like so stoked at what I'm looking at in the mirror now just how my like my the just like the positive happy thing I'm that's looking back at me you know and I'm like damn like finally finally I'm just I'm like ready to put on my boots and just like march and just like do life how I feel like here's what sucks to realize and I think everyone has to go through
Starting point is 00:41:55 tough times and lessons and depression and whatever not every I mean everyone's got a different life story and experience but um I think my dark days like that are I'm sure I'll have more but like it's weird or it sucks to realize that with a little bit of a mindset shift I could have been so much more I probably would have felt so much more like free and my life would have probably felt a lot more full and like I probably at this point would look back and go wow I I live life to the fullest and I you know because I loved my because I actually loved myself and I wasn't um dealing with insecurity and so yeah you know you look back you're like that's shitty that's kind of a waste of life you're just sitting there being a little hater and shit talking to
Starting point is 00:42:53 yourself but for so many years and then you're like well you got I got my whole life ahead of me I'm like I said I feel like I'm just ready to attack full-on now and I'm it's because nothing embarrasses me I've decided like I'm not I can't get embarrassed at all like nothing embarrasses me I'm not like worried at all or what other people think of me or or I'm not like living for other people's approval and their acceptance like I used to be all the cliches you know what I mean I'm just like, yo, here I am. This is it. Hi. You don't rock. If you're not rocking with it, that's okay. You don't have to. And I'm at peace. I don't need to be like, there's no reason. This is what's weird about being younger. Like, why was I so like, why did I want to be popular so bad
Starting point is 00:43:52 and like be friends with the popular people they were so boring like they were so like when I really think about it like there wasn't a lot going on there like with a lot of them and I'm like all of the weird kids I or all the kids I thought that that were um weird in high school like those are the people I want to be friends with now with like because they they're just like cool like they're they own who they are they don't give a shit those are the most those are the funnest people to talk to like because they're not puffing their chest and peacocking and trying to flex and like look a certain like look hot and be cool and none of that's important I feel like so many people I live in a city where it's a it's apparent that that's an that's like a
Starting point is 00:44:43 obviously there's a social hierarchy and that's just like life but there's a there's an obvious like like look at me i'm the baddest bitch in the city type shit that's like obviously i feel like in every city but i notice it here and it's just like it's like cringy i'm like they should like when people look like when people are hot and they know they're hot and they come across like they're how do i explain it why am i not this sounds personal um it's like they're they think it's like important and they like value that so much to the point of like they don't have a personality and they don't have hobbies and it's just like they don't have like all they are is what they look like and their person like get a personality trait this is my
Starting point is 00:45:34 biggest tip or biggest life lesson in my 20s get a personality trait that doesn't revolve around you looking hot like you know what I mean like that's I feel like in your 20s that's what you should be working on and like like developing but you know I feel like because of social media and Instagram there's so much like pressure to look a certain way and you know that stuff and I get it I get how like I mean I do it like I'm not fucking absent from that kind of lifestyle of like fucking hot girl shit like I do it but I'm saying like it's like there when I'm around people it's like, everyone's just like fucking dumb and just like boring. And like, that's why, that's why I realized that I don't like, if you judge a book by its cover, I feel like everyone kind of does
Starting point is 00:46:33 with Instagram. It's like, you get this little short, like you get little, what do I always say? Little pixels or little data points of someone on Instagram where you see a little picture here and there and you draw conclusions and you form an opinion and an idea about who they are just from little pictures like little single images and maybe a few stories and shit so anyways I realized that yeah if you came across my profile and like here I am in a you know bikini or something or you know here's a picture of me like sticking my ass out you might be like oh this is how you might think of me a certain way that's not the whole story right so I realized like like I got to get on it I got to get on a microphone and hang out with people and be unedited and unfiltered or
Starting point is 00:47:26 and do a um a long-form podcast because this is like the closest you can get to hanging out with me and actually knowing me you know what I mean it's like closing that gap between what you see online and then how I am in person so I know I've said this so many times but it's kind of like my story as to why I chose podcasting and why it feels so right because I can just be myself and I don't have um I don't know like there's no curating there's no posing there's no editing there's no trying like it's effortless it's fucking up I want my life to be effortless so yeah shout out greg mccown mccowan mccone of um greg is the author of essentialism and now his new book is called effortless and i wonder is it out yet effortless
Starting point is 00:48:28 book was i just talking about like rice in a jar and then i got on some weird tangent it I think it's it's out Greg McKeown Keown Keown K-E-O-W Keown Greg McKeown make it easier to do what matters most let me read about it because I think this I love his essentialism books so much and I I feel like it like i feel like that's a book a book that really made me want to it it snapped me into audit mode bitch i was auditing like every little area i don't know if that's the right word audit audit yeah audit an official inspection of an individual or organization's accounts typically by an
Starting point is 00:49:27 independent body yeah I was like that book inspired me to audit every little nook and cranny of my life and what I've been doing and like edit the shit out of it and strip it down and cut and like um to just the bare bones of like what like I feel like by auditing by going through everything and thinking about every little aspect of my life and I spent I think the end of 2019 doing this if I remember and I wrote a lot and I compiled a lot of things I had um yeah like all of this shit I've ever written I like compiled and I read through and I like I was trying to figure myself out and what that did for me is it provided a little bit of it provided like a blueprint or whatever a little map of what has always worked for me and
Starting point is 00:50:22 like, and then what has it? And like, I just, I chose, I basically chose like, okay, I'm going to stick to what I know. I'm going to stick to what works for me. I'm going to shut out the noise. I'm not going to keep looking for the next trend and the next thing on social media that people are trying to sell to me or inspire me to do or whatever. I'm like, no, this is my life. this is what works for me. I'm in the driver's seat. I got to get back to, I got to regain my intuition and my like soul, bitch. Like it's these, these things I finally peeled back and found after so many years of chaos and like information overload and just the beginning of social media. Uh, what am I saying? I, once I found all that, I just felt like, yes, this is what I'm going to do
Starting point is 00:51:15 now. And I still, I edit, what's that quote? Like edit your life ruthlessly and often. It's so true. I don't like to feel stretched thin. I don't like to feel messy in my mind. And so his books are great. Like the, yeah, just do what's essential. And then effortless is such a cool concept when we read the book thing or the, What's it called? The summary? I want to read more. Wait, where's the summary?
Starting point is 00:51:57 Got editorial reviews. Let me go back to a different tab. I'll just go to his website. Effortless. making it easier to do what matters most um i want to read about it damn it here from the new york times best-selling author of the million copy bestseller essentialism comes an empowering guide to achieve your goals great it all starts with a simple principle not everything has to be so hard
Starting point is 00:52:44 do you ever feel like you're teetering right on the edge of burnout you want to make a higher contribution but lack the energy you're running faster but not moving closer to your goals and everything is so much harder than it used to be as high achievers we're such a fucking nerd today like this is one of the most nerdy episodes i've ever done as high achievers we've been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work that if we want to overachieve we have to over exert overthink and overdo i mean okay i am obsessed with david goggins and how
Starting point is 00:53:29 like he preaches overdo over overachieve like oh like outdo what's normal with your effort like but I think there's different ways you can apply that when it's necessary when you really just need to go 150 percent or like fucking 200 500 percent I don't know but anyways let me just keep reading this um I'll probably get back to that that if we're not perpetually exhausted we're not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the harder it is to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of zoom, eat, sleep, repeat, we're often working
Starting point is 00:54:16 twice as hard to achieve half as much. Getting ahead doesn't have to be as hard as we make it. No matter what the challenges or obstacles we face, there's a better way. Instead of pushing ourselves harder, we can find an easier path. Effortless offers actionable advice. Logan Paul always says that, actionable advice. For making the most essential activities the easiest ones so you can achieve the results you want without burning out. Nice. Shout out, Greg. Yeah, I think I wrote effortless on my whiteboard. I wrote, so you guys want to know what my whiteboard says my little vision board like inspo board every day I write the podcast number I'm doing and it's always a mind fuck like I I really lately I've been freaking out I'm like
Starting point is 00:55:05 that's a lot like I'm on 257 I'm like that's a lot of episodes um so I have the number of my podcast episodes I have um be consistent be inspired I wrote I choose to be happy no matter what today happiness is a choice and I decide now I'm like I don't have to be sad I can just choose to be happy no matter what that's helped me a lot that little phrase has and then I wrote effortless and then I drew a picture under it of a horizon line with a sun with a smiley and then I wrote and I drew two paths coming from the horizon line um one says hard negative the other side says easy effortless and then I drew a star under that side because like it's just it's like that it's really like that like when you're in it's back to the
Starting point is 00:56:11 whole like rice thing and the negative and talking negative to it like I mean yeah we often make our lives a living hell because we are stuck in a negative loop and it's so once you realize that And figure out like once you have a, I don't know if it's an epiphany or once you practice it enough and you are able to literally, I think it's called shifting and you can instantly like shift out of it and choose the effortless, like easy way of living. then man, that's great. That just, that's a, it's never a hundred percent. Like I catch myself not really that damn it. Not really. I don't really sit and I feel like when I catch myself being negative, it's when I'm podcasting and I'm ranting about society and cancel culture and politics and whatever it is that I don't like. That's when I'm negative. But as far as my personal shit like my personal goals and my personal life and everything um it's all positive
Starting point is 00:57:24 baby like I'm just like rocking with my life like woohoo we're going to the sunset it's great everything's awesome I'm killing it and I don't dread things and that's a whole effortless idea like it doesn't have to be hard and I think it starts with your mind obviously and reframing your brain but um i just love that word effortless that's why whenever i notice i'm in um conversations now i think i've told you guys this like a month ago maybe it's a combination of like getting through 2020 alone uh yoga uh just a lot of talking to myself on a microphone every day or whatever but when I'm in a conversation now with people
Starting point is 00:58:20 I and like strangers people I don't know that well I catch myself or I notice how like relaxed I am and how like just calm and everything is so smooth now and I'm not there's not a lot of like I think I used to have I really do when I think about it bad social anxiety or stupid nerves for no reason like I wouldn't be like worried about talking to people it's just like my energy was like off and I and I've always okay here's the I can I think what it was is I had to be the one talking where now I don't now I'm not the one talking other people are talking and I'm sitting there and I'm listening and I feel like that's what it is I just want to listen to other people talk about their life what's going on if they
Starting point is 00:59:11 have a question for me I'll answer it but I'm not the one putting on the show all the time now like I used to be and I just feel better I feel like this is effortless this is just like relaxing and I'm just here and I'm enjoying myself and I'm just, you know, nice afternoon on the street with our, with our dogs. And we're having this nice little casual conversation. It's like before I think it was just, I was so wound up and like running, go running hot. And I, it's not like that's a bad thing. I mean, those, it doesn't really matter. I mean, do whatever what you want, but it's just more of an, it's like a more, it was more intense to communicate that way in the past dude am I ready to retire am I turning into a fucking
Starting point is 00:59:59 grandma like what is this energy why am I so like I'm I feel like a bump I know what is it I just god I love to have fun though I'm not boring I'm just I'm changing certain I'm evolving you know what I'm growing up I'm growing up I'm realizing what I like in life and what works for me back to what I was saying earlier about auditing my life and I'm doing that and it doesn't need to be that difficult like your life doesn't need to be that hard and should I end on that like what was I on that rice or I was on tiktoks I think I have oh another idea Um, this other TikTok I saw is, is it, is that person really cringe or just less insecure than
Starting point is 01:01:02 you are? Um, I just have a note that I like wrote the idea on my notebook, but I, I'd have to find TikTok now? Is that person really cringe or are they just less insecure than you are? It's kind of like a jab. Like we don't need to say that, right? Like I think we all are triggered by people that like when you when someone triggers you or makes you feel like if you if you don't like someone it's probably because there's something about them that you want or you are or something it's all like we're all mirrors right we're all just and here's what I'm experiencing as a a mid-20s millennial chick um I I just want to shake people that I see online sometimes and it's not because I feel here's the thing and this is what I want to do I really wish there
Starting point is 01:02:15 was some sort of course I could create about maybe I don't know if it's podcasting every day or podcasting and talking yourself but like I just want to pull people out or like shake them just be like snap out of this what are you doing like I can see the filter now like the filter people are putting on and the facade because I used to do it too where I wasn't I was basically just like reading this social media script and doing what everyone else did and acting like how everyone else acted and just like playing a role like in a character and a you know it wasn't authentically me like I'm picking up the phone talking to my mom or like sitting on the couch with my grandma at 6 p.m at her house like eating dinner like I wasn't communicating or
Starting point is 01:02:59 putting myself on the internet that way and a lot like it's not I feel like it's few and far between to find that like real ass just like this is you're acting normal you're not like what did I hear I heard someone I was watching a story and I heard a phrase and I'm like this just sounded so not you and I was like do you not are you not aware about that are you not do you not know that about yourself that that's how it comes across and so yeah I like see people online a lot and I'm just like I want to like stop don't do that what are you doing why are you acting like that um is that because what's the word I learned discerning I just have, I just, I just, uh, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:03:56 It's not, uh, everyone's on their own journey. Everyone. Cause here's the thing. I cringe at my past self. I cringe at my early twenties. I cringe at some of the shit I would post and do early, like on my YouTube channel. Like I was being such a fake bitch and i feel like not everyone snaps out of that way of being on the internet or like not everyone notices that about themselves or i think it's just so you can fit in so well being fake because everyone's doing it everyone's everyone's like curating and editing and filtering their personalities and their everything they do, and it's just, like, I don't, like, can't we all just be at a slumber party
Starting point is 01:04:51 together on social media, and, like, no one is trying hard, and no one is, like, flexing, and just, like, can't we, I feel like that would be so nice, let's just all be at a slumber party on social media, it's so, like, fucking, I don't know, I'm following the wrong people, probably, sometimes you can't involve people that you're friends with did i just say that oops um is that person really cringe or just less insecure than you what was that thing yeah i don't know there was a tiktok about that but um like you can tell when someone i'm thinking of a specific example and yes this is whatever but like you can tell when someone is I can't say it I don't someone's gonna I don't want to I don't
Starting point is 01:05:44 want to do this I don't want to be like it's not even mean it's just like I'm observing and I'm commenting and I'm trying to make a point here but like who cares Jacqueline who the fuck cares like you're wasting your time even thinking about this honestly or talking about it but do you guys feel that way about me maybe like I'm sure maybe people out there are like yeah this this hoe on a microphone seven days a week is being a freak ass bitch I can't believe I just said that about myself but you know what I mean like I'm sure that I come across cringy to people I'm sure like that's a thing in life that's just the way it is like you're not I'm not for everyone I always say that but just because like I might think this way about other people but they might
Starting point is 01:06:28 think that exact same thing about me it's like when someone thinks someone's really hot and their best friends like she's the ugliest woman i've ever seen like or he or she or whatever like it's all the it's all the eye of the beholder bitch it's all the eye of the beholder um yeah zombies though this the phones aren't helping the the they're inflating the fakeness they're not helping the realness and i don't know what we do ever that's why i'm like i'm so happy i did a podcast i'm so happy so happy i did a podcast because no matter what you think of me no matter what you see on my little fucking insta story or instagram page or profile i got this to say hey
Starting point is 01:07:19 boom this is me this is who i like this back this is like what i'm leading with this is what i can show for myself now that's like it feels good it's like finally and I don't know why I was called to be an internet person and have a podcast and do this social media thing but it is what it is like there's so many other people out there doing it I don't need to like overthink it but um I do have my days where I'm like I just wish sometimes I'm like what if I never what if I was just like low-key and had a private profile and like never posted and just like nobody knew about me like what if that was my life what if I did that I just have this I have this I I don't know what it is this expressive
Starting point is 01:08:10 bone in my body I need to express myself for whatever reason I love doing it I love yeah so yeah it is what it is I love saying that that's that's it it is what it is all right happy Wednesday thanks for hanging out that was kind of fun um interact with me what do I have to do call to action hit that subscribe button hit that subscribe button I'm here seven days a week and my dms are always open for chat my chat room is always open my chit chat room um so yeah if you want to dm me about any of the topics i covered today let me know what you think um or let me know if you've done that rice experiment or something or the plant one i'm curious and if you have pictures there's so many
Starting point is 01:09:01 people doing it and the same result happens for everyone the plant dies the other one lives the rice gets moldy the other rice doesn't what's going on dude words are crazy powerful crazy powerful everything's energy everything's okay I gotta I gotta riff fuck drinking some water something I can't quite put my finger on is, I know I was just saying, like, words are, everything's, you know, energy, and words are powerful, and positivity, woo, okay, I can't quite put my finger on positivity, that's, like, positivity for the sake of being positive, just for the sake of it, just for, like, we don't
Starting point is 01:09:57 do anything negative we're not going to talk about like when people shut down all negativity in conversation and they don't allow any like I can't or no or I feel I'm kind of feeling down today they don't they flip the conversation to something positive and it's like nope nope we're good everything's fine we're gonna be positive everything woo you know what's that I can't quite put my finger on it I'm like it's like not actually positive because then if you're on the reciprocating side of that you're like this doesn't feel right like there's something outer space about it like we're not because real life isn't 100 positive and so when your mission in conversation or whatever you do is to just be positive it's kind of confusing to me and
Starting point is 01:10:52 I just, like I said, I can't quite put my finger on it, and I'm kind of like, I don't know, I think it's healthy to experience all emotions, all feelings, all, you know, good days and bad days, it's all fine, it's all good, I think it's part of life, and to just mask it with positivity every single time, it seems sick, kind of, like, what's going on. And yeah, I just, I'm like, kind of like, I've been thinking about that lately. Like, I don't know. Do you guys know what I mean? Are you, have you ever interacted with someone that does that? She's like, everything has to be powerful and positive and like, I don't know. Okay. That's it. Happy Wednesday. Thank you so much for hanging out with me. I love
Starting point is 01:11:47 podcasting this is my passion I love being here honestly like thank you for supporting the show and subscribing if you did and leaving a review you can also follow my Instagram at Jacqueline Monroe for it's mostly puppy pictures and videos right now of Jimmy but that's fun it's there's like there's a lot to see with him growing up now so go check it out and yeah I hope you're I hope your week's going well and I will talk to you tomorrow. Bye.
