Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 330. Welcome back to the show. hey what's up it's Jacqueline welcome back to the show how are you doing what's up how was your weekend um did your teams win i hope they did um actually i don't care uh it's currently sunday night i've got the cincinnati kansas city game on behind me right now and couldn't care less about who wins honestly um go seahawks that's all i care about that's the only team i'll ever care about um so yeah hope you had a great weekend i hope your teams won i hope you're excited about the super bowl or whatever like go team go um but let's talk about my weekend uh let's talk about yeah like let me set the scene i'm sunday night i have
Starting point is 00:01:15 to pick up cory from the airport in a few hours so he's up in he was in san francisco today and I'm killing time I I kind of want to tell you all the things I didn't get done this weekend like errands wise personal like to-do list wise because I was playing golf instead and just of course right that's taking over my life right now like for example um and then then I want to get into like the heavy-hitting topics of today like I'm going to talk about um let me go on my note here we're gonna talk about ozempic um we're gonna talk about mascaragate if you're confused right now it's like just keep listening tune in to find out what these strange words mean uh mascaragate uh you'll know this one jay leno uh
Starting point is 00:02:12 Jay Leno breaking bones real life squid game in the UK um expensive expensive shit that's worth it and that's about it honestly it's gonna be a chill episode I just wanted to like yeah first talk about all the things I haven't gotten done this weekend like the weekend rolls around it's like time to get shit done what do I do instead golf right it's taking over my life and I'm having this realization right now about how like okay I know I have the the bug right but I'm having this realization that you kind of have to, your golf is going to become your life. Like if you want to get good,
Starting point is 00:03:08 you're going to have to practice all the time around the clock, like play all the time. Like I haven't really played yet. Honestly, everyone's like, when are you going to actually go play golf and not like, all you do is hang out at the driving range. It's like, I know where I'm thinking like next month I'll start playing. Um, anyways, so yeah, it's like kind of daunting. like I've become obsessed and yeah I don't want to keep I could talk about golf this entire episode I could talk about like today I had my third lesson with my coach I could talk about the things we adjusted and I mean if you care like I made my grip a little stronger um we're working on the release um and we're working on like these are things like if you don't know golf like I'm
Starting point is 00:04:00 sorry like I'm working on my downswing I'm shot like making it more shallow um yeah there's an entire dictionary of golf terms out there like it's insane like what did he say we were chipping today and he's like he said that was that was thin something about the way I hit the ball was thin and I was like what and he had to explain it to me like I'm constantly learning new terms it's a lot and it's definitely taking over my life right now and it's definitely causing my to-do list it's like shit's not getting done honestly like I want to okay let me I don't know what to start with do I start with my um car stuff or do I start with my my hand my fingernail situation um like what else I have where is my to-do list I don't even know where it's at
Starting point is 00:04:50 um let's start with my car so as you know I moved out of my apartment I moved in with my boyfriend boyfriend Cory like beginning of January pretty sure I moved in here is it right before the new year yeah literally the week after Christmas I moved in here um and I literally so right now my car is packed to the brim with garbage bag garbage bags hold on let me take a sip uh the beverage of the night is diet dr pepper and uh a little don julio i found in the freezer um yeah i don't know it's like when it comes to drinks like i'll take a diet coke with tequila with some lime like i don't give like i just love diet drink like diet soda drinks so like put a little alcohol in that
Starting point is 00:05:49 i'm gonna love it like i don't like just like why have a tequila soda when you can have a tequila diet coke or diet dr pepper whatever um so yeah my car is full of garbage bags of clothing that I need to donate but by donate I mean consign and basically I'm too I have so I have a lot of nice shit and I when I moved out of my old apartment I was like I just want to purge right I want to like get rid of stuff start fresh like start my new closet here with less stuff and then build it back up you know like get rid of stuff I never wear whatever and I'm being stubborn about like I could just drop this shit off of the goodwill but I'm too I want to consign it because I'm like I want to get some money for this this is like good stuff
Starting point is 00:06:39 right I can't I just so yeah it's piled up in my um my car and then there's like boxes of stuff like memory like little like my journals and random books and pictures I've printed out and like honestly like a lot of stuff that probably shouldn't be in there like if someone broke into my car they're gonna like like if like you're gonna read my journals you know what I mean like like my old notebooks from my pod early podcasting days like it's all in there so I need so the what I'm saying is I didn't clean my car out this weekend I didn't go to the consignment store and I'm being stubborn about donating these clothes or not stubborn yes I'm being stubborn I'm not just dropping them off at you know yeah the goodwill or whatever um but I used to work
Starting point is 00:07:27 at a consignment store so I know that the worst thing ever is when someone walks in with 12 bags like you can't do that to them so I'm strategically like I have a plan over the next few weeks I'm gonna take in like three bags at a time so yeah I didn't do that this weekend it's hanging over my head um my car it just looks like shit I mean it's just packed full um what else is in there like I finally set my wi-fi router back to cox um if you don't know cox is it's like our internet tv provider here in san diego or it's like one of them but yeah like i don't know just like post moving out errands and things like are still not done and it's fucking in february next week so that's happening that's what so i didn't get that done
Starting point is 00:08:20 also I met some new people last night. Um, I went out to drinks at a hotel, like a hotel bar and with Corey and a bunch of his friends, I like met new people and I looked down at my nails and I was like, Oh my fucking God. Okay. So I currently, it's always a situation like the self care like the what am I saying I'm not good at having nails like I I swear like they're all there's always one missing I'll get them done two days later one of them one of them will pop off or I'll break one or I'll leave them on for like three weeks and then they start you know I'll lose them then I'll just cut them down so right now I'm missing I only have it's like pinky pinky ring finger thumb and then the rest of them I have no no nails and so yeah I was like
Starting point is 00:09:24 meeting people shaking hands holding drinks and I'm like looking down at my nails and it's just there's like a broken blood vessel on one of them they look like shit so I didn't get my nails done this weekend because I was golfing um is this I think that's enough to tell you like where's my where's my to-do list I might as well just pop it open um and like because it's Sunday night like shit okay wait what did i what did i write down here yeah like clean out car nails um i did post a couple tiktoks this weekend so i'm proud of that um going to mammoth we're gonna go skiing next month um i still haven't booked any of my doctor's appointments
Starting point is 00:10:13 for the year I haven't yeah whatever okay so like that's yeah so that's my weekend I went out Friday night I went out Saturday night I golfed for literally like three hours today after my lesson I got an entire basket of balls excuse me oh my god who's winning right now hold 653 in the fourth quarter it's 2020 tie game tie game and honestly if I had to pick a team to win right now is Mike Holmgren Holmgren oh my god Holmgren Holgrim oh my god how do you say his name is he the coach for Kansas City Mike Holmgren Mike Holm Holmgren Mike Holmgren he used to be the Seattle Seahawks coach it's like do I go Kansas City or Cincinnati wait is Joe Burrow the Cincinnati quarterback that everyone's in love with I get the hype like I get it but like
Starting point is 00:11:20 I mean people are like insane like like I've seen so many like thirst trap TikToks of Joe Burrow I'm like Jesus Christ he's like he's like everyone's um little football player crush right now or I guess that was from last year too whatever I I want Kansas City to win um yeah Mike Holmgren Holmgren Kansas City yeah yeah go Chiefs I guess I don't know I literally don't care about any other team but the Seahawks and now that I live in California it's going to be my fifth year this year that I've lived in California I'm like I think I need to pick a team here that like resonates with me I mean obviously so we don't have the San Diego Chargers anymore but like there's something so wrong about the LA
Starting point is 00:12:18 Chargers and the LA Rams having the same fucking colors like I can't get it straight like they need i think either the rams or the chargers need a rebrand they need a color change like it's too similar is there another team in la it's la rams right rams chargers it just it just my brain hurts whenever i see i'm just like and i don't really i don't care about any of these teams in california california to be honest and like i kind of think this is insane for me to say i used to i honestly hate the 49ers i hate like i because of um what super bowl is that i'm just like googling a lot of shit today sorry 2014
Starting point is 00:13:10 um or is that the nfc championship game wait didn't we play them in the fucking super bowl excuse me louis if you hear if you hear a dog barking it's louis nfc championship we won back in is that 2014 what year did the 49ers yeah we played in the super bowl super bowl xlv iii why can't i fucking i can't find a simple answer here like was it 20 2013 no that was when we were we beat them whatever I just don't like the 49ers I can't find what I'm looking for here so anyways what I'm saying is now that I've been in California for what yeah this will be my fifth year in June like I think I need to pick a team and I'm starting I mean best defense in the NFL
Starting point is 00:14:12 right now like I'm kind of into the I feel like I'm the 49ers are speaking to me um like I'm coming around to them and because yeah I don't really care like the Rams and the Chargers just it's the colors it's something about the colors and they're too similar and I get them confused I think starting next year I'm going to be a 49ers fan I'm saying it here now um but it's hard like when you're from another state and that like I'm a I love the Seahawks like it's it's like did I just say uts it's like it's like your high school or college team like that's where you went to school like for me it's the Seahawks that's where I grew up like I rooted for them my whole life I went to you know I loved like you know the Marshawn Lynch
Starting point is 00:15:02 days russell wilson days god rest his soul no so yeah it's like weird to like go to a new state and then like i don't know i guess you still root for your your home team but yeah so that's where i'm at did i discuss um where did i leave off oh my nails my fucking car um i could tell a story about how I drove. I drove Corey's car for the first time yesterday. Cause I dropped him off at the farmers. Uh, him and his friends went to the farmers, farmers open the golf tournament here at Torrey Pines. And I dropped him off in his car. And then I twice on the way home shifted into like first and second gear on accident because there's this paddle thing on the around the steering wheel and I had to like put it in park like I instead of just stopping at a stoplight
Starting point is 00:16:10 and putting it at park I like pulled over and did it because I didn't want to I didn't want to tax the engine or make it make it like overwork for too long so I immediately pulled over and then I shift like I didn't know how to shift out of it so I was like oh if I go park and then go back to drive, whatever. So that happened twice and he gets in his car and he's like, Oh, the check engine lights on. Great. So yeah. Um, I'm honestly not very good with cars. I don't care about cars. I really wish like, it's time for me. Yeah. It's time for me to get a new car. Like it's, if you know what I drive you'd be like what the fuck like it's one of those things where I've had my car since college um but like I don't drive a lot I work from home my car does the job like
Starting point is 00:17:03 I don't it's paid for I don't have to like I don't have a car payment but yeah I wish I knew more about cars because I don't even know what I like like I see there's certain cars I know when I see them I'm like oh I like that but I feel like I don't want to drive a car unless it's like a if I want to love it like I want to be really obsessed with it and I'm not there yet with any car like he's like oh you you look good in a 4Runner 4Runner Corey's like yeah you look good in a 4 a Toyota 4Runner I'm like are you I was like are you for real right now like no no baby I want a Porsche okay like I want to be in some luxury shit like I don't want to buy a car unless it's like a bugatti no i'm kidding like a i don't know i just like i don't want to go buy a hondi
Starting point is 00:17:53 like just because you know what i mean like i want to i want a nice car um i know it's like a horror like cars are stupid investments like it's just it's a depreciating asset it's just like like if you don't have a car payment why would you you know what i mean but i'm like it's time like again if you saw what i drive you'd be like are you are you is this for real um yeah there's a little story time for free about driving his car for the first time so yeah there's this new diabetes drug called ozempic and i'm gonna do some research right now because i kind of want to take it i'm kidding no i mean like it's called i'm just going off google right now the street name is ozempic but its
Starting point is 00:18:44 medical name or whatever is semaglutide semagluted semaglutide semaglutide sold under the brand name ozempic ozempic way govi and ribella ribelsis is an anti-diabetic medication used for treatment of type 2 diabetes people are taking this shit to lose weight and it's like making people lose 30 of their weight in like two months or some shit and celebrities celebrities are apparently taking it like i'm hearing a lot about ozempic so um you know like back in the day if you asked me like well oh if you had a genie wish like what would it be i'd be like number one i want to be able to hear animals I want to be able to um I wish that animals could talk so we could have
Starting point is 00:19:32 conversations with conversations with animals and I would wish that I could eat whatever I want never get fat so to me this is like a miracle like um it's drunk like they make it sound like from what I'm hearing it's like oh this is this is kind of like that um but it's like I think it's like an extreme appetite suppressant like you when people take this they're like disgusted by the thought of eating which I don't know um I mean I'm not I'm not I mean I don't I I don't need to lose weight but like I'm just saying um for the extra 10 maybe this would be everyone's hanging I mean what is it with the extra 10 like I am it's just you're I feel like I'm always oscillating like between one weight and another way it's like 10 pounds going up and down just like my whole
Starting point is 00:20:27 life and it's like that there's like a a thing about losing the last 10 pounds right and it's especially it's especially hard for women or something i don't know but like i always am just in my head like oh i could lose another 10 i could be you know what i mean what is that like it's just such a bitch um but if you're if you're a long-time listener maybe if you're a new listener I'll just tell a quick story I gained during the pandemic or do I want to go down this rabbit hole like I gained like 30 pounds I gained 30 pounds during the pandemic got really depressed like it was a whole thing and then over the course of was it 2021 I like lost it all without trying because I was just like I got a dog I was walking more I wasn't trying I didn't I never went on a
Starting point is 00:21:14 diet I just like I did it like the right way or I got to a place where I wasn't obsessed about like my weight and food and working out all the time and now I it's literally like out of sight out of mind um I still work out I still love like being healthy and eating right and all that good stuff and I do care about what I look like and I do try to like keep my body fit and healthy and tight and all in all the right places and um but it's not like a grind like a mental grind like oh I'm like fat or anything you know um Corey gives me shit because like every morning I wake up I do an ab check in the mirror and I just like you got to like I'm very pro like mirror checking like I know that's like a toxic thing for people that used to have eating disorders like me
Starting point is 00:21:56 like you're not supposed to do that like it's not good for your but I'm honestly in a place where it's not dysmorphia it's not like I do that and I'm like it's just like I want to know where I'm that. You know what I mean? Like, do I need to do an extra 20 on the Stairmaster after this workout today? Or do I kind of like, am I going to be good without? No, I'm kidding. It's not that extreme, but yeah, like you gotta, you gotta check. I mean, do a little mirror check, a little belly check. Guys do it too. I swear. Like every guy I've ever known, like wakes up and does a flex in the fucking mirror every morning, like, or before they get in the shower, you know, everyone does it so yeah um ozempic this is a fun episode have you subscribed yet are you
Starting point is 00:22:45 subscribed to my podcast are you following me on instagram are you are you following me on tiktok um it's all at jacqueline monroe or the jacqueline jack my name is so hard to say sometimes the jacqueline monroe show on apple and spotify google podcast stitcher breaker wherever you listen to podcasts look me up subscribe um if you're listening this right now on your phone uh screenshot it send it to your story or some shit like tell people about my show review the show you know like it one through five stars rate it whatever um all the all the things so yeah if you're enjoying this episode right now if you're having fun with me go and subscribe like follow um because this is my fucking passion I need I need support um
Starting point is 00:23:37 your support what am I saying your support would mean a lot to me and um yeah it's cool what I've built here it's literally this is my third year of podcasting like what alone solo podcasting um and it's just I love reflecting it it's it's it's always a trip when I look back at like how far i've come like holy fuck um yeah so ozempic i just want to go to the news tab here what's it like to take ozempic for weight loss or diabetes 14 hours ago oh there's a face oh it's called ozempic face how do you take this is this injected for the two months carrie yazeed for the two months carrie yazeed took ozempic the drug worked as intended yazeed has type 2 diabetes and the weekly injection lowered her blood sugar levels
Starting point is 00:24:34 but it also brought side effects she considered unbearable including vomiting fatigue headaches and stomach cramps i just want to know about the fucking people out there that are not they're not diabetic and they're taking this you know like that's what i'm interested in i get that it's a diabetes anti-diabetic drug that helps people with diabetes diabetes but um real housewives of new jersey's jackie goldschneider criticizes weight loss trend of misusing ozempic yeah so it's like a weight loss trend people are taking this to
Starting point is 00:25:18 oh wait kyle richards takes this or what's this article here daily mail here we go what do they have to say um i used to take a cutter back in college called what's it called it made me so jittery and like my heart really it my heart raced all the time i wish i knew the name um it was like a big yellow pill came in a clear bottle um i don't know i don't want to go down that rabbit hole i can't i'm not going to find it so 50 the 54 year old 54 year old sorry the 54 year old reality television star wore a tight black tank top just the way they talk about people is so funny she wore a tight black tank top after her workout showing off her toned arms um the real housewives of beverly hill star
Starting point is 00:26:17 recently clapped back at fans who who accused her of using unnatural means to achieve a slimmer frame i don't know isn't elon musk taking this like these articles suck like i'm not getting what i'm not finding what i'm looking for this is why jacqueline cue it up before you press record come on um gaunt cheeks is the ozempic face what the heck is ozempic face um dude tom brady looks like he's taking ozempic i was looking at tom brady's like i was at the gym and i was looking up at the tv and he was doing like a post-game interview i was like what the fuck he's it's like he has ozempic face tom brady face people like accused him of getting plastic surgery recently or some shit tom brady but it comes up when you type in tom brady ozempic absolutely
Starting point is 00:27:18 he lost 15 pounds amid giselle yeah after his divorce yeah he just looks like he lost weight he doesn't have it's not like he's taking ozempic i mean yeah it was a joke um yeah so that's like happening right now um ozempic celebrities what comes up celebrities who have spoken out about ozempic who has discussed the weight loss drug here why don't i just go and hold on this is an educational segment for your for me and you okay we're reading about ozempic if you know nothing about this like i hope this is fresh for you um because it's like really hot right now
Starting point is 00:28:07 this this topic what is ozempic why stars risk old face for trendy weight loss drug so it makes your face look like shit but your body uh is gonna be nice and tight ozempic a medication designed for people type d diabetes blah blah um it's being abused by those who need to lose just over just five or ten pounds me uh ozempic has been shown to help reduce body weight by 15 percent while while um it's the drug of choice these days for the one percent yeah it's for like rich celebrity people i don't know like when i see the kardashians i don't know okay there's something about how lean they are is that cool cool sculpting like is that light but like i don't know what it is i know like
Starting point is 00:29:05 there's like a bbl body um like there's a look to it you know um but there's also like a leanness a lot of these celebrities have like that doesn't it just doesn't look I don't know how to explain it it just doesn't look natural like yeah it's it's kind of like um it's like everything's just been everything's been like like suctioned out or sides is that lipos I'm literally that's like I don't know for how curved the thing is it's always been the mind fuck is like they're so curvy but they're also so snatched it's like how do you you know what I mean there's gotta be I think it's like freezing the fat the cool sculpting the lasers or something those like ab machines people lay down and they have like their abs
Starting point is 00:30:00 contracted a hundred thousand times in like an hour or something and like it tones your stomach like it's just fascinating I mean no I mean I don't give a fuck how people do it to get to get their bodies how they are but I mean um goddamn it's like the beauty standard is directly related to it's like if you are if you're rich you can be beautiful now like the more money you have the more beautiful you can become in 2023 that's been a thing for like I'd say like a handful years now I mean obviously with Instagram social media like everyone's it's like the it's like on another level if you look at 2012 influencing on Instagram and you look at like 2023 it's like
Starting point is 00:30:49 literally like it is we are so perfected now we are so beautiful now we are so hot we are so like everything about even down to the way everyone edits and like posts it's so aesthetic and beautiful and like yeah it's not it's nuts like the standard of beauty is just it's unattainable unless you're out you're rich um and natural beauty is like not hot it's like not cool like that's what's so that's okay i don't understand this i'm gonna go on a little tangent real quick and we'll go into the i want to hear about like jay leno having a second accident in two months um yeah like I've never understood when people post the work they've had done on their stories like I follow people that get like injections like implants whatever they like
Starting point is 00:31:48 talk about it publicly like they're like I just got um my eyes filled or whatever under eye filler and then I got my lips done and then I got my chin and then my jaw and then I got Botox at the same time and that's what we just did today and here's my doctor it's like they're sharing this and then they it's like I don't know in my opinion I'm like I would keep that to myself like I don't want to I wouldn't want everyone to know that I don't naturally look this way like but it's almost like people flex that now like they're flexing their work they've had done because it's like look I am I have the money to do this or something like I don't does that or or are they really showing it to like like help their follow followers like hey if you want
Starting point is 00:32:38 these brows babe like go get them laminated with this girl she'll help you I mean that's like a normal I'd say lashes brows lip injections sure like go to my lip injection lip injection like when they start contouring their face and they're like posting like their new jawline I'm like wait just I don't know it's like no one's subtle anymore everyone's like in your face about the work they've had done and I just don't I've never understood that I'm like what happened to natural beauty and just like you know what I mean or being like understated or like I don't know how to explain it like it it's like irrelevant it doesn't matter if you're naturally beautiful it's like well I don't know what I'm saying does that make sense
Starting point is 00:33:26 I mean what work have I had done where do I even fucking start I'm kidding uh what have I had done shit I started wait what did I get done this year that's new um you know I'm gonna keep it to myself I'll let you guess um not a lot I'll be honest not a lot um but yeah it's it's fascinating I I back to what I said though I think yeah the more money you have the more beautiful you can be because you can take like i've seen the transformations are insane like some i mean not to like say negative things about people like an average boring face with a few like a new jawline some lip filler some lash extension some cheek filler some botox like it's like insane you can just like really
Starting point is 00:34:31 alter your face and look a lot more you can like look like the beauty standard anyone like anyone can with the right injector lady or surgeon um yeah it's just again crazy to look back at how we started on like social media back in like 2012 i always think of 2012 because i graduated high school and i went i went to college and i got instagram that was when i was a freshman in college or yeah freshman in college um yeah we were so like raw back then just like more like like when Kylie didn't have anything done you know those days when Kylie had no upper lip those days was that the King Kylie era like I honestly like did she she kind of started this shit when she got her lips done it like started
Starting point is 00:35:21 something but um they just kept doing more and more and more and more and more and then now like you can't even recognize Chloe God bless like um it's kind of a hobby though I get it like like it's fun like getting a little thing done is like oh and I like I look a little I look like me but a little bit better you know and it's just like it's kind of fun so yeah like going in to get your your little Bowie and your little lip injections for the year or whatever it's like every few months and you feel better about yourself it's all good um poor poor people can't do it that's the thing now if you're if you're poor you better be naturally beautiful because like or you better
Starting point is 00:36:06 look like the beauty standard because you're not gonna pop off in your instagram unless you got some money so like who's kind of like basic and oh my god am i going into this i'm like yeah i think tiktok's more accepting of people that look like themselves and they don't look like every like every other influencer so like your uniqueness is more embraced on tiktok than i'd say instagram um but yeah anyways um speaking of tiktok should we talk about mascara gate so i'm asking like you can't answer me i'm gonna just tell you what's up So this is a, there's a scandal going on in the, in the TikTok beauty universe with a influencer named Mikayla. How do you say her last name?
Starting point is 00:37:10 Mikayla Nagira? I'm going to say Nagira. And I love her. I've been following her for a long time. she has a she's got a fun personality she's really good at makeup she's really good at reviews like she's really um yeah like fun to watch and anyway she recently posted a sponsored mascara video with l'oreal and everyone's freaking the fuck out because it clearly looks like she's wearing false lashes so i'm gonna play the video we're gonna talk about it look how long and lengthened
Starting point is 00:37:46 my lashes you this literally just changed my life this looks like false this is how what it's this l'oreal telescopic lift look at the wand okay so basically i'm taking the curved side and i'm going root to tip and i'm sat in a coat the lashes and then once you've done that you flip the brush to the side and you use the hook comb to basically separate this is one coat okay i'm gonna add a second look at the length do you see that i am speechless and i'm not sure anyone's gonna ever be able to compete with this mascara okay so that's the video um she so at first she's like she has one eye done and the other one doesn't have anything on it and she proceeds like put a coat of mascara on the other eye and then it's like obvious to start
Starting point is 00:38:50 that she's wearing it just looks like a couple falsies or what are they called like cluster lashes on the corner of her of her eye and then yeah she like puts on a coat and it's like there's no way I don't care how many coats she put on after that like there's no way the volume would increase or you could have by the end result like when she she turns her head really slowly you can see like the volume like tripled and her lashes look yeah like she's wearing falsies so people are like fucking pissed or like oh my god like she's lying to us and this is false advertising I even saw an influencer that I followed forever she's like this is illegal she like went into the the legalities of this and it's just honestly I'm like I don't get why she even it's like so
Starting point is 00:39:42 obvious she's not wearing those are not her natural lashes like I think everyone's on board with that I I I mean I watched it like 10 times just to like really like stare at them and really like see and I'm like yeah those are definitely like wispies of some kind like little I think they're like cluster lashes but what I don't get is she's doing this paid ad with L'Oreal for this new what is it the telescopic um what's the mascara called um telescopic lift mascara and it's like it's why like here's what I don't get I'm like it doesn't what am I saying it's like she's trying to do a nice ad for them but it doesn't she how they the result isn't that important right like the fact that they look like
Starting point is 00:40:42 false lashes or it's like they well the mascara apparently sucks like people are reviewing it for real and they're not wearing false lashes and they're like this is just not a good mascara but it doesn't there's no point for her to put on the fake lashes if that makes sense like she's doing the ad she's getting paid for it just to like post a review and she's saying it's amazing and it's like she should have just been honest and put on three coats of her nor with her you know real lashes and just said okay this one sucks and then move on but I don't know um she hasn't posted a video yet it's got like like a follow-up video she posted five days ago um it's got like 40 million views um so yeah that's what's going down in makeup tiktok right now i
Starting point is 00:41:32 love following makeup videos on here i've been making some like it's just fun i don't know um but yeah it's like why did like you're still getting paid you're still doing the partnership pay partnership or doesn't make a difference of you how they look or how many likes like whatever um there's also this other controversy going on with this influencer called so british of me called like i remember back when i dated british boys they would say like their friend called Steve or their friend called Harry or their friend called whatever like they not instead of saying like oh my uh my friend named it was like called so her name's it's called the foundation challenge who's doing this um I think her name also starts
Starting point is 00:42:36 with an m Miranda no foundation challenge anyways this girl like when she does her videos her makeup videos she starts off with like six pumps of foundation and then she smears it all over her face so basically what's what's going on right now is people are like debating whether she's doing that as like a stick to get people's attention because it's so insane it just looks like it looks uncomfortable she's like rubbing it in her eyelashes like all over her eyebrows like all over her lips it's so thick so people are people are saying that she's um doing that and then cutting the video and then wiping some of it off and then blending it in because there's like no way she's wearing that much makeup in real life and like walking around with that much on
Starting point is 00:43:27 her face so people are doing the foundation challenge now I want to say I want to find her name um foundation meredith meredith yeah she's like another big makeup girl on tiktok meredith um meredith ducksbury yeah it's like her thing the way she puts her foundation on she just pumps a bunch of foundation out and then smears it everywhere and it's nuts i kind of want to do it i kind of want to do the foundation challenge on my TikTok um you know it's wild I was thinking about this I'm looking at all my makeup right now I have I don't even have foundation like I don't have enough product to even do this like I have concealer oh my god I don't think I've wear I
Starting point is 00:44:18 don't wear foundation I haven't worn foundation in like even when I go out I have um like a glowy tinted like cream thing and then I have concealer it's kind of my jam I kind of mix that with my lotion my fate or my yeah my SPF but anyways I couldn't even do this I would need I need to buy a foundation I kind of feel like that's a part of my makeup routine where I'm kind of um like slipping where it's like my makeup could look a lot better if my base was like full coverage and I had an actual foundation on my face oh my god who won Kansas City okay okay I guessed right all right I that was who I wanted to win 2320 Kansas City so Kansas City and uh the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl is that what I'm is that is this the final playoff weekend yeah
Starting point is 00:45:22 that's exciting um go jeeps so um yeah makeup scandals on tiktok are just that's what's occupying my time right now instead of cleaning out my car and instead of getting my nails done i'm on tiktok watching controversial um videos um still on the i'm still on the idaho murder not as much like i see idaho murder videos pop up um i'm kind of past that but i met someone last night at the bar um and within like a minute he said something and he goes i don't know if you know what i'm talking about i was in regards to the idaho what was he what was it about he goes um like my wife and her watching my fiance they're not married yet what did he say with their
Starting point is 00:46:22 i don't remember it was like something specific about the idaho murder case and i knew exactly as soon as he opened his mouth i was like i know what you're talking about it's kind of a little bonding moment um but yeah i'm not really following that anymore she's kind of it was heavy like the honestly like the first half of january that was like all this all the stuff coming out with Brian Koberger and the affidavit and then yeah and all the tiktoks I watched about it and then the dateline videos the youtube videos and the podcast that everyone's fucking talking about I got like in too deep um yeah it's kind of backburner backburnered right now. Um, football playoffs. I wrote a note here that I took a bath the other night. I don't know
Starting point is 00:47:12 why I wrote that. Um, Jay Leno, let's see what happened to him. So yeah, he got his face burned off or something um shit he's down bad right now jay leno breaks bones in second accident after announcing vegas return if his run of tough luck continues jay leno will be known as the comedy star who prefer performs his own stunts prepping for his return to the strip in march leno is recovering from a fire in his garage in los angeles last november yeah he suffered second degree burns over his upper body and part of his face while repairing the fuel line in a 1907 white stream car that's the incident we know about but there's another mishap this month which leno disclosed in a phone chat thursday referring to the november fire i asked how are
Starting point is 00:48:15 you doing especially after the accident it's so funny you should say that said leno headlining for encore theater for the first time on march 31st his first vegas show since the november incident that was the first accident okay then just last week i got knocked off my motorcycle so i've gotten a broken collarbone i've got two broken ribs i've got two cracked kneecaps holy fuck whoa i said whoa sir but i'm okay leno said i'm okay i'm working i'm working this weekend god damn who interviewed him who's like the other person here um um john castellamites castellamitos i can't say his last name that is column here did this interview
Starting point is 00:49:09 um holy shit so broken jay leno's got a burnt body upper half and part of his face broken collarbone collarbone two broken ribs and two cracked kneecaps am i speaking in the microphone okay sorry how did it happen leno specified the accident happened nine days earlier on january 17th again as he was working on a vintage vehicle oh my god no he was testing this is his problem he needs to stop working with old shit old cars and he was testing a 1940 indian motorcycle and noticed the scent of leaking gas so i turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot and unbeknownst to me some guy had a
Starting point is 00:50:07 wire strung across the parking lot with but with no hat no flag hanging from it leno said so you know I didn't see it until it was too late it just clotheslined me and boom knocked me off the bike the bike kept going and you know how the how that works oh my god he seems to have a positive attitude about this wow he's down like I said down bad like this is not what does he look like is there are there pictures of Jay Leno accident letter cycle crash oh my god um so that's happening wow
Starting point is 00:50:51 prayers up for Jay Leno um also prayers up for uh how do you say his name I want to say Tyree Nichols Tyree yeah that's also happening holy shit um memphis police department uh five cops beat the shit out of him and he died three days after so it's fucking terrible um yeah i watched that whole video of him um getting beat up then i didn't realize like i i saw this video it was on my apple news or whatever and it was just like video of Tyree Tyree Nichols getting beaten by police so I clicked it
Starting point is 00:51:44 and I didn't realize he died so then I was like reading other articles I was like holy holy shit and then I saw a hospital photo of him sitting with or in the bed um hooked up to it like everything and his face was just so beaten up and um is the cause of injury like that's a part where i i don't think that was released or like the cause of it i mean obviously they beat the shit out of him but what exactly led to his death um he died due to injury sustained in the use of force incident with officers yeah it's so fucked up
Starting point is 00:52:32 happened January 7th the officers pulled over a vehicle for suspected reckless driving confrontation occurred a few blocks away from his home yeah like just it's another one of those the fucking crime doesn't fit the punishment or whatever it's just like or no the yeah like it's just it's so extreme how bad they beat him up I was like why am I watching this again just fucking breaks my heart breaks my heart prayers for his family and his friends and yeah apparently he's a big skateboarder 29
Starting point is 00:53:36 it's fucking sad um fuck cops no i'm kidding i mean five cops in memphis don't represent the total population of cops in the united states which is like i don't know how many cops are there in the u.s that's the thing that's tough it's like you see stuff like this and then it's just like there are more than 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the United States 12% of women of them are women 800,000 cops yeah so five of them beat the shit out of someone he died three days after it's like right now everyone's like fuck cops you know pigs blah blah
Starting point is 00:54:31 um but there are good cops out there i mean this is like such a broken record conversation like but it's just sad because they get everyone sees these videos and then everyone i mean cops are i'd be so scared to be a cop in these times like everyone's on edge and just like really disgust it just like it makes you it just taints how you feel about police when you see these kinds of things um
Starting point is 00:55:16 i wrote a list or i wrote a topic expensive shit that's worth it oh real life squid game um am i still recording holy how are you doing is diet dr pepper's kind of getting warm i honestly probably put a fourth a shot of tequila in this because i didn't want um i don't really want to feel anything i wanted i don't know what i wanted to feel like sometimes I don't even like I drank Friday night I had two glasses of wine I wasn't very hungover Saturday it was like good wine I think it was like it was like a cab it was a house cab at this Italian restaurant place and then yeah it was fine Saturday was fine I ran I ran again I
Starting point is 00:56:06 ran three times last week I ran like four and a half miles um and then Saturday night I drank kind of drink a lot did I drink okay can we talk about Coors Light okay I'm a fucking Coors Light slut like best beer best cheap ass beer and as a distinguished upper 20s adult now I have learned that I have like a two to three drink max like mixed drink max and then I switch over to beer and my beer of choice is Coors Light nothing hits nothing there is something just like it's I guess it's because you're already drunk and it just tastes good like while you're you've had your few drinks now you're switching over to beer it's like the end of the night. Just like it's smooth. It's refreshing. It's cold. Um, yeah, that's kind of,
Starting point is 00:57:15 maybe that's one of, one of my, um, cheap, cheap shit. That's worse. Worth it. Coors light should do that list. I have a lot of cheap shit I could, I could talk about. I should, I should do a cheap, a cheap shit list. Um, but yeah, I, so yeah, sometimes when I like make a drink at home. I'm like, what am I doing? Like I'm sitting in a podcast. Like I'm not trying to get drunk right now, but I had, I put like a little, I just like did a little dump Don Julio in here with the diet, Dr. Pepper. And it's, I feel like a little something, you know, like, I don't know what that is, but there's something, um, I still need, I still, still need to make dinner um I still still need to do some online shopping um I have so many gift cards oh my god
Starting point is 00:58:08 I've literally got like did I ever tell you the story of whatever I don't need to go down to like a I won't talk about it it's just like whatever I had a great Christmas let's just say that and I have like so many gift cards and I haven't used them and I and I kind of want to sit down and just like it's like Sephora it's um Fiori pretty little thing what else yeah I just want to sit down and like buy some shit with my gift cards so yeah I need to make dinner do that take the dogs out one last time um then go to the airport get Cory because he sent me a video never opened it um should I talk about let's just let's wrap the episode I feel like this is like a good a good amount of time yeah I don't know what the real life squid game thing was
Starting point is 00:59:04 dude I did this in one take holy fuck like it's been I'll be honest like sorry that was like really dramatic I've been out of the flow on this show in the last few episodes like I don't know what it was but like it like I felt like I had to stop and start a lot and I never do that I always do my show in one take and that's why I've been adding in like stupid music or I shouldn't say it's stupid I don't know is it kind of it's kind of corny like my last couple episodes have sound effects and like transition music and shit so um anyways like this episode feels like i'm i don't know i'm just i'm proud of this i did it in one take um but yeah the real life squid game just wanted to look that up real life it's in the uk
Starting point is 01:00:14 um three received treatment during netflix show wait no that was during the show um this is from grazia the real life squid game contestants are complaining about harsh filming conditions former participants are reportedly planning on suing streaming giant netflix after competing in the famously brutal challenges wait is this like are these the actors that was the best show i finally watched it like last like in august it was so good
Starting point is 01:00:56 just so unique and strange and gory and it's just such a well-produced show like i don't know it's just such a weird one though um i thought i read i don't know where i thought they like there was like a real life squid game like show that um real life people were doing like but not dying obviously but there was challenges similar to that Yeah, this is not what I thought. I guess it, yeah, the people in the show were having, like, complications. We care deeply about the health and safety of our cast and crew and invested in all the appropriate safety procedures. While it was very cold on set and participants were prepared for that, any claims of serious injury are untrue.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Oh, wow. How recent are these articles? oh january 25th 2023 yeah this is like all new stretchered off set jesus wow they got fucked up during the show like the actors contestants in netflix real life squid game were reportedly left screaming and screaming medic but before they were stretchered off in freezing conditions while filming players felt as if they had frostbite as temperatures at the uk studios plummeted to negative three celsius according to the sun wow so this was like during the
Starting point is 01:02:41 so i must have read that so they filmed this in the uk where was squid where was squid game filmed where was or so or just like hanging out right now just like on google looking up shit trying to be entertaining for you like that's literally what I'm doing like on any old night like do you think I mean sometimes I sit and I'll like go on the I'll read the news on my laptop and just kind of check in but um it's more fun when I do that with you and we can learn together where was squid game filmed in South Korea i'm not seeing anything about the uk i'm really confused but about this like real life squid game
Starting point is 01:03:34 whatever um so yeah expensive shit that's worth it cheap shit that's worth it where should i start um should i do an update on my stanley cup expensive shit that's worth it i'm gonna label the stanley tumblr as an expensive thing that it's here's why i think it's worth it um sometimes when i see stuff see stuff on social media that everyone has that's like kind of a nicer item like the stanley tumblr I feel like when I buy it for myself and I'm using it I just it's like I feel not only do I feel like I'm part of something no I just like feel
Starting point is 01:04:33 I don't know it's just like it makes me feel good like like I was influenced to buy it from people on Instagram or wherever this it's called the Stanley look up the Stanley tumbler it's like a it's literally a water bottle that everyone's using right now and it was like 50 bucks it's a vacuum sealed tumbler that like keeps your drinks cold or hot whatever you're putting in it for like 24 hours or some shit and yeah I don't know like when I go to the gym and I when I walk around and like have it here at my desk when I'm working I don't know I just like I feel good about myself because I know it's like it's nice I spent a little extra money on it. It's like a $50 water bottle. It's not, you know, the $12 one at TJ Maxx in that
Starting point is 01:05:21 water bottle aisle. Um, even though it looks just like those. Yeah. And I just feel like, I don't know. It like makes me feel fancy when I'm like holding it, walking around. It like goes, it's like white, like goes with everything. So yeah, I'd say this, the Stanley tumbler is worth it um what other expensive shit is worth it um well you tell me I mean not that this is expensive my setup here took me to my third year to buy like I this microphone's like 400 bucks the headphones are my setup is probably okay to have my audio quality right now it's like a thousand dollar investment to sound like this as a podcast host with everything I bought um and I'd say that's worth it because it's providing a it's providing a premium listening experience for my
Starting point is 01:06:20 audience and um it's gonna make me take my podcast more seriously and produce better content because it sounds better and I just invested a thousand dollars into it and like now I need another I needed a second mic a second set of headphones my little like receiver box thing I think it's only set up for oh no I can have two mics in here that's good so I don't have to buy any one of those um but yeah like invest my podcast setups worth it if you're like trying to launch a podcast this year if that was like your resolution um it's like so dumb I think and I've always said this I was so like um attached to my popstar headset because I liked how it looked on video and I liked how easy it was like I just plugged it into my laptop and press record I didn't have
Starting point is 01:07:10 to buy like a cloud lifter and a little box thing I don't really know what it does it's called a focus right like does it so basically my microphone connects to a cloud lifter the cloud lifter ramps up the rpms now the decibels to like a certain level that like helps it sound better and then that plugs into the focus right and then the focus right plugs into my lap excuse me my lap my laptop and then my headphones plug into the focus right so it's like a whole circle thing of cords then I had to buy cords but yeah so I'm uh I'd highly recommend like just going just getting the right shit um don't buy like a yeti mic are those are those still being used like those little ball ones um yeah so um what other expensive shit is worth it
Starting point is 01:08:22 therapy it's not even i mean depends on what your health insurance is my health insurance just got all weird this year and i don't really know like it's like i don't know what i want to spend more it's like how do i want to it's like do I want to spend more to go to my therapist psychiatrist doctor like when I because I barely like I see my psychiatrist therapist like regularly so I'm paying for that on a regular basis but doctors kind of like every like twice a year right so it's like less I'm paying there's like I think my deductibles higher but like I'm paying less each month to have this insurance I don't i don't fucking know i wish i knew um i think i'm it's like a better use of my money this way
Starting point is 01:09:18 having this type of insurance it's just so fucking it's so confusing um hold on so yeah expensive shit that's worth it what other like expensive shit do i have that's like depends what expensive is like subjective right depends what like tax bracket you live in or like you know what i mean like where how much you make like what you're how much money you have like expensive to me is gonna look different to you to your friends to your neighbor like to fucking the celebrities you see like we're all where it's like um but like as far as makeup goes i'd say skincare expensive shit that's worth it
Starting point is 01:10:12 medical grade skincare um and then that that whole term is like debunked anyways i i like i follow this influencer on instagram her name's charlotte she's like the fairy godmother of skincare she said like medical grade isn't actually a thing but like a lot of people label their shit as medical i don't really know but i i invest in brands like skin medica that have that are really into like research and shit and the ingredients they use are like proven or researched and proven to be effective i don't fucking know um so i really like skin medica um and i i do a lot of high and low skincare where it's like cetaphil and then uh and like la roche-posay is how you say it mixed with like my higher end shit um so yeah what's cheap shit that's worth it
Starting point is 01:11:11 Coors Light fucking taquito no talkies like cheap what what cheap food can I recommend for you um you know food prices are going up what can I recommend that's not expense no like what's my trash panda meal my trash panda meal like i'm going into 7-eleven what am i buying when i'm saying fuck it um definitely the jalapeno kettle what are they the the kettle chips the green bag the jalapeno kettle chips the green bag i'm doing those i'm doing what's my beverage probably diet coke honestly um ice cream I'm getting like okay I'm on it I have a new kick fuck 7-eleven fuck I was gonna just like say something say an
Starting point is 01:12:18 ice cream there but I'm like no I because I was gonna say like a toll house cookie sandwich so I get like the chips the toll house cookie sandwich and a diet coke and maybe like some candy like some peanut M&Ms yeah um but there's this company out of Manhattan Beach called Cream Witch the Cream Witch and it's sold nearby me and in my new where I've moved if I've moved and I've discovered a cream witch cookie ice cream sandwich that's highly accessible to where I live and holy fucking shit it has a chokehold that's like a term I hear all the time on the internet like it's got a chokehold on me it is the best thing I put in my mouth shout out cream which I want to invest in this company like they're pretty small
Starting point is 01:13:16 they have a small Instagram I'm like this is it's so fucking unreal how good it is it's like the perfect soft homemade chocolate chip cookie with like really high quality vanilla ice cream and then they dip half of it in chocolate like milk chocolate but like the good kind like not your Hershey's not your like like homemade milk chocolate or I don't even know and I think they make these at the Manhattan beach cream creamery up in LA. And yeah, it's like the shit. And Corey, Corey and I have a moment, like, I don't know, like once a week, honestly, where we'll be eating dinner and like after dinner, it's like a look and he'll be like, you want the cookie? And I'm like, fuck you. Like, as soon as he says it, I can't get out
Starting point is 01:14:09 of my head and I have to have it. I'm the worst. Whenever someone suggests like fro-yo, let's get ice cream. I'm feeling like ice cream. I want the cookie sandwich, like whatever. I have zero. Like it's not, it's, it will happen. It, it, it's like game over. Like there's no, I have zero, what's it called? Restraint. Like, and I've just learned to listen to that voice and embrace it and follow through with getting the ice cream because like there was a time in my life I remember I could count on like I could count two times and within a within a year I had ice cream that's sad um now I have it like all the time um progress growth maturity um not being a fucking psychopath about your goddamn diet all the time
Starting point is 01:15:04 so yeah we like look it's like a thing it's just like I think we had it it's just so like indulgent like there's a salted caramel one we got and it was like I was feeling sick it was like kind of too much um it just really tastes like you're getting something like it's it's so good it's like going to I'll never forget the first time I went to sprinkles and got like a red velvet red velvet cupcake and it was like oh my god this is the the cupcake you know and it was just so fucking good that's how this is and uh yeah so that's my new kick um but cheap food that's worth it like not eggs fuck I don't really know where to steer you if you're trying to like meal prep like what should you buy like what store should I mean do
Starting point is 01:15:51 you have like Winko nearby do you have grocery outlet like just find a bargain store and like hope for the best that the prices are right like I don't know what to say like no kidding I mean shit like it's probably really tough out there if you have a bunch of kids like you have to feed a family of five like yeah the food prices are it's weird like I'll never forget I went to CVS we had to get like this is why this is why I take care of shit around the house okay i'm like fucking amazon everything like household items amazon like toilet paper amazon paper towels dish dish dish soaps shampoo it's all fucking amazon right i think we went out to sushi and cory was like before sushi's like remind me we have to get toilet paper we have to get
Starting point is 01:16:42 uh or it wasn't toilet paper i think it was like deodorant and shampoo or something or napkins i don't fucking know but anyways he's like make sure you remind me and then we're we're in CVS after and then we're buying it and I looked at the price of a shampoo like a Tresemme shampoo it was like $12.99 like a basic bitch Tresemme like shampoo and I'm like what happened like wait what's going on and I looked at all the other toiletries and I was like oh my god and yeah I buy everything on Amazon and I guess I'm like bulk pack buying so I'm like oh for three of these it's $28.99 and I can like mentally do the math I'm like oh okay yeah that makes sense for three I guess and then technically like it should be 15 bucks and now it's 30 and anyways
Starting point is 01:17:39 um yeah i love like subscribe and save like everything's just automatic and shows up and you don't have to think about it and you never run out and you always have a backstock like i love amazon's a shit i mean i had so much resistance towards it I was like influenced by someone who's like shop small like support local like the law and I was like oh fuck yeah you know they have they have a point and then I just like really thought about how Amazon's destroying like it's like taking the fuck over the world right and I was like oh and then now like I'll buy it's like something small I'll buy on Amazon like whenever I run out of concealer I just press buy now on the concealer I always buy and I just press and it's like one
Starting point is 01:18:38 thing shows up you know that's kind of ridiculous I never I that's an I never go into a store and just like buy makeup I don't even go into Sephora like I just buy it online everything's online but yeah i'm really rambling where did this how should i end this episode um i have to go to the airport soon kind of actually like two hours to kill i hope you enjoyed this hope you had fun um i hope your weekend was great um hope you got all your to-do list items done i hope your team's won i hope you're not sick it's like is covid going around again or like wait because i just said that am i gonna get that little stupid thing on spotify where it's like
Starting point is 01:19:33 click here for covid info or whatever if i say covid covid it's gonna like flag it that i don't get that like why is it still doing that uh but yeah i think that's like still happening right and people are still getting it. Um, yeah, I met someone this weekend who had family members with it and I was like, Jesus, I didn't realize it's still. So yeah, I hope you're well, I hope you're healthy, happy, hope your job's going well. I hope you're getting that promotion, that, that bonus check, that fucking, I hope your relationships are going well. I hope you're just yeah hanging in there if you're feeling down about yourself um should I do like life advice like if that's you right now like if you're not feeling yourself
Starting point is 01:20:25 how do I hide myself up like how do I get out of that um honestly like just have like a I have like a mental rule of 48 hours for like everything if I'm ever in a funk it's usually for working out like if I don't work out for it's like two-day rule then I have to go back to it's like I never go more than two days without working out if that makes sense very very rarely do I do that because it's for it's for my mind like the reason I work out so hard and the reason I do it every morning before I start my day is like literally so I'm I just feel so much better when I do it versus when I don't do it. I'm so much more productive, so much more energized. Like, but if you're going to funk mentally, like
Starting point is 01:21:12 when I'm in that place, it's usually because I'm spiraling about, I'm in spiral spiraling in the same thoughts over and over and over and over again. and that keeps me down and I keep thinking about that negative thing about my life and about how I'm not happy right now and I'm not like whatever the thing is um because it's usually all about me and just like how I'm not impressed with my life or how I'm doing or how I look or whatever it's always like focused on me so usually if I'm what I've learned is that you have to like break that mental spiral with some kind of like like sleep it off honestly like I'll have a bad day all the bad couple days and then I just need a new day to start and then I'm like okay I'm gonna do my
Starting point is 01:22:14 normal routine my workout I'm gonna and then honestly I'll be okay straight up if it's a pattern like it was for me for like if you're waking up just down gloomy and you can't really pinpoint it like for no reason but you're in a negative you're just negative you're cranky you're irritable you're maybe have an imbalance account I don't know like maybe you're like me and I had to like go get therapy and medication for that and when I don't take it I like revert back to just like I'm not it's it's almost it's so fucked up I'm like I was so resistant to medication I was like oh my god like I don't want to have to rely on something that I you know I'm better than this I always thought of it as like a negative but if you're finding yourself going weeks months
Starting point is 01:23:07 years I mean like get help go see someone like I know there's a lot of therapies out there you can do some ketamine therapy now you can do some psilocybin therapy go see a go lay in a bed and do molly with a nurse and a doctor watching over you like there's other shit you could do microdosing like or you could go the traditional route and get some antidepressants or anti-anxiety or whatever it is that you need but um consider that like you know i'm not a doctor but in my experience I noticed like I was constantly spiraling negative thoughts what just all day long all the time just I couldn't get out of it couldn't break it and everything I was irritable about everything and then yeah honestly medication changed my life and I know I'm not the
Starting point is 01:23:56 only person saying that about it and um I'm not I guess ashamed like I it's not like a it just it was like a little bridge to get me the other side and obviously with therapy and learning all the tools to help yourself shift your state and like re-work the patterns in your brain um and obviously podcasting like I've um yeah i'm like i think it's time to end i'm like doing like a therapy session right now with you i'm like if you are down seek help like um you know another thing i'm i'm hearing about is like that because everyone's remote like the remote workforce is huge right now post-COVID like everyone I mean I work remote
Starting point is 01:24:58 there's like a loneliness epidemic uh feeling like like a depression kind of epidemic and I'm pretty convinced that like our work from home environment isn't good for us like I know it isn't for me like I it's like you have to do things to counteract the fact that you're alone all day and if you're not if you're there's probably so many people out there that just like live alone work work from home they don't see a lot of people they're not socializing they don't have a lot going on it's like fuck they're it's just human beings need community they need connection they need like companionship they need partnership they need teamwork friendship all those things like we need the camaraderie of like people and and I and I think that it's
Starting point is 01:25:48 like no surprise right that our work from home life is yeah it's just it's not ideal for a lot of people and I know that I know that I have a I have a good relationship with it now because I'm going into my third when did I start working remote if you're new I work remote for a I work for a PR company I've been in PR for three years it's my third year um but yeah I've I've been able to like I have a good relationship with it now because I'm like so used to it and I do the things to like keep myself up and and social and and you know I keep it moving I'm not um obviously I live with someone that I'm not always alone I have dogs I mean at least have a gym to go to like make go to like a new class like meet
Starting point is 01:26:43 someone I don't know but uh shit maybe I do I can go into that like work from home topic um next episode because like is that like people are saying all these tech layoffs are because like this is like the beginning of the end of you know working in an office and everyone's just gonna be like in their house like I don't know um anyways all right I'm gonna end it uh I need to make some dinner what else is I gonna do online shop go to the airport go to bed um looking at my nails like god damn it I didn't get my nails done this weekend I'm starting the week off with like really bad nails it's so bad like their broken blood vessel on the fucking it's on my middle finger it's just like it's like under it's like a blood blister or something
Starting point is 01:27:41 under my nail it just looks really bad anyways yeah that's it thank you for being here thanks for hanging out with me I hope you enjoyed this episode hope you had fun um hope this I don't know made you feel some type of comfort or companionship or friendship if you're lonely and you work remote or you're bored on the treadmill right now doing your run and where do you where do you listen my podcast send me a dm um I feel like a lot of people listen at work I've heard that I've heard like gym work car um like around the house um I'll never forget I like went home one time it was like 2020 for christmas yeah it was 2020 and my mom was doing like yeah she was on her rower machine out outside the garage with a what's it called one of those like
