Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 334. Welcome back to the show. Hey, what's up? It's Jacqueline. Welcome back to the show. How's it going? Hi, um, hope you had a great week. It's Friday. Happy Friday. Um, I really need to get into this Q&A. I'm just going to preface this now. Skip ahead. The Q&A is coming, but it's not going to be right off the bat. So skip ahead for the Q&A about 30 minutes. Um, I know I feel like I should just do the Q&A for this entire episode and not talk about other stuff. But like, you guys need to know that I saw Creed. I've been smoking marijuana recently. No, I'm not smoking. I'm taking edibles recently and I'm writing and that's been a new creative journey of mine.
Starting point is 00:01:11 You need to know about what else? My apartment is a mess. I have a note here. I'm like, okay, let me just get into it so let me set the scene I'm drinking my coffee protein milkshake thing that I've talked about a million times and every time I have this I'm like this is a frappuccino this is a fucking frappuccino everyone needs to make this it's like because I worked out this morning and I was like okay I'm in a podcast I need to like have a little drink with me so and a little like post-workout thing so I made um I do like espresso shots with a scoop of protein powder ice and almond milk in a blender and then I have a what's it called a Nutribullet and then boom done you have this like frappuccino thing so that's what I'm drinking my hair's wet
Starting point is 00:02:03 I showered um I don't even know what else is going on I'm wearing a green hoodie yellow sweatpants I look like the John Deere logo. The house is a mess. So here's something I didn't do before I recorded today. Typically, I don't know if you're like me, but I can't work. I can't podcast. I can't function unless I've tidied up my environment. So currently the couch cushion covers are off because while I was at the gym, the dogs played and they destroyed the couch. The bed isn't made. there's dishes in the sink my sweaty workout uh towel and workout stuff is in my duffel bag at a rant on top of louie's crate he took a shit by the way i didn't fully clean the rug when i got home and i walked into a pile of shit on the rug i didn't fully clean that okay so that still
Starting point is 00:02:58 needs to get cleaned um yeah it's just gross in here and i'm uncomfortable so like i'm going against I'm doing like I'm podcasting because I want to knock this out and get this done so I can get on with the rest of my day but like I feel off I feel I just feel uncomfortable it's I don't know if that's an OCD thing but like I need cleanliness and I need organization just so I can like I feel like it just relaxes my mind when I look around and nothing's messy so um yeah showered wearing a hoodie why am I going into this you guys need to know some life updates let's let's go for it so oh fuck it's like starting the episode off by saying hi I took a shower I have wet hair I went to the gym I'm drinking a coffee protein shake and my house is a mess like
Starting point is 00:03:50 you guys literally tuned in to hear about my like you you tuned in for the Q&A and this is just so classic like I don't know it's fun to like set the scene and kind of talk about my morning and what's going on so okay um life updates I was supposed to go to Mammoth with Corey last weekend and literally the day before I was I was in a little ski snowboard shop buying um smart wool like ski socks for myself because i needed them and then i was i bought cory a like a neck gator face masks face mask thing and while i'm in the store i'm thinking and this is the day before you're supposed to go to mammoth i'm thinking it's been dumping rain here i know it's dumping snow there like are the roads even clearer like are the roads closed can we even
Starting point is 00:04:49 drive there. And I looked into it and the road was closed and it was closed like the next morning when we were supposed to leave. So long story short, we didn't go to Mammoth. It was way too much snow. Um, it would have been a mess. We were going to take the dogs and yeah, we canceled that and went to a music festival here in San Diego instead called Crossed Fest. And, um, yeah, was my first ever honestly my first ever music festival like I've never been to I've been to concerts but I've never been to something where there's like multiple stages and a ton of artists playing it's like multiple days so that was super fun um we had like wristbands so we could like walk around and go backstage and stand next to the DJ and shit so that was awesome I feel like
Starting point is 00:05:42 that's the only way to do it now that I've been spoiled and now that I've done that I'm like I will never have a general admission whatever ticket again because like it's just so nice you have like your own bathrooms they have um there's like food and like what like waters and drinks and um yeah so that was fun we went what days did we go we went Saturday Sunday I saw I saw Odessa that was so sick that was that was so that was worth going um if I didn't see any other artists I would have been happy with just seeing Odessa because I didn't realize like I've listened their music I didn't realize that they had like a full-on like drum line at their shows and that was the sickest part like after I left I was like I'm still I I kept thinking about the Odessa drum
Starting point is 00:06:34 line and just how like they had these cool like alien masks on and yeah it was an insane show I had so much fun I'm I made Corey stand in the crowd for that because like we could I mean I just wanted to be in the I want to be squished in with everyone because that's I feel like that's a there's something to that like when you're in a at a concert and everyone's like there's it's like an energy thing I don't know so I had lots of fun last weekend got really I mean what was what did we do drug and alcohol wise like I took an I took an edible and that was like a slippery slope because okay here's the thing like I when I moved to San Diego five years ago I'd say for like the first year I smoked I started smoking in like college right I'd smoke here and there
Starting point is 00:07:29 parties and like going out with my friends and stuff but like when I moved to San Diego it was a daily thing it was like every single night for like a year and then after that I don't even know I started like I moved into my own place I think it's when I was living with someone that we did that but then when I moved in to my own place um why am I on this like my smoking weed like life story right now the slippery slope let me go back to cross fest the slippery slope is that I was like shit edibles are nice you know and the next few days I've been taking an edible before bed and like it helps me sleep it's amazing and then I've been writing so now I'm like oh my god I'm I'm actually writing again I got so my creative juices started flowing like I'm at the
Starting point is 00:08:21 concert you know I have an edible okay that's no big deal whatever and then I'm drinking a little bit okay that's fine but like just being at home high with like peace and quiet my brain start you know it does that thing it like it opens up and then I start thinking I get all these crazy ideas and thoughts I started writing so the other night wow I'm talking in circles holy shit the other night I got I took an edible before bed I got high and I wrote down literally I think 110 of my opinions like my controversial opinions my unpopular opinions my specific like niche opinions about random things like it was I just it was incredible like I was like this is why I used to get high because I for creativity purposes like it really helps and um so yeah
Starting point is 00:09:19 life update I'm I'm my stoner phase is starting back up again um it honestly makes me groggy the next day so anyways um okay so we didn't go to mammoth we went to the cross fest had a lot of fun we saw creed on the last episode i talked about the alex murdoch murdoch murdoch alec murdoch trial no one will ever know how to say that properly um he was found guilty so that happened um i'm going golfing sunday officially uh for the first time this is random so like in food and drink news like life updates and Jacqueline do the Q&A no one no one fucking cares I know this is what's wild to me I was thinking about this when people are asking me questions on my Instagram because I posted ask me a question I'm like it's wild that anyone is
Starting point is 00:10:17 listening right now and and that people are invested in my life and what I have to fucking say that will never it I know that's what I'm doing here and I know I've created this little relationship and this little you know podcast audience thing but like I don't know I catch myself I'm like why am I why am I talking about this but it's like you you guys listen you guys want to know shit so um let's talk about prime hydration or prime what is it prime drink prime um Corey and I he wasn't feeling that well the other night so we went and got soup we got pho and um after dinner I was it was next to a GNC and I was like there was a sign outside that said prime energy like now available or whatever so I made him go in and um buy us the new prime
Starting point is 00:11:13 energy drink and then we got the regular prime like the Gatorade one so um yeah life update I tried prime for the first time and i was okay i liked the gatorade coconut water one better than the energy drink my review we got the tropical punch and then we got the blue raspberry energy drink one my review is this the regular normal prime the gatorade one is great loved it 10 out of 10 the energy drink i'm an energy drink snob because i i drink a celsius or an alani new every single morning for the gym so it comes in third to those um alani's number one i don't know if you've ever tried an alani there's i don't know if they add more carbonation it's got like a zing to it where if you drink an alani and you drink a prime next like side by side the the prime was
Starting point is 00:12:15 kind of a underwhelming kind of it wasn't that carbonated or like it didn't have a zing to it like I want an energy drink and I don't know if they put coconut water in the in the energy drink but there was a weird like aftertaste so that's my review on prime hydration or is it called why do I keep saying prime hydration prime entered prime drink prime on Instagram am I talking fast i feel like i finally just got to the groove of the podcast um drink prime prime by logan paul and ksi don't they say prime hydration no what am i confusing that with anyways um okay and food life update news quest nutrition i didn't know this i've been eating quest bars if you know what I'm talking about they're the protein bars with the uh like high protein low net carb ratio
Starting point is 00:13:15 um yeah they've been around forever but I didn't know that they came out with a new formulation so I was at Vons the other day and I picked up a box of the like the chocolate chip cookie dough ones and it said on the box it was like uh now softer fluffier juicier whatever it's like a new they re there's a new recipe and i had one and i was like holy fucking shit these don't taste like rubber anymore they were so it was so good like i'm yeah so i gotta figure out an amazon subscription for quest bars because i want those stocked all the time it was a wow moment i was like wait why is this so fluffy and not like a typical quest quest bar where it's like eating tar um i don't know if anyone else i don't know if you noticed that but they changed i think that
Starting point is 00:14:10 i honestly this is how insane i am like i looked it up i was like i looked up quest quest bar new recipe on google and i think last october it said they came out with a new recipe so yeah um all right let's move on to so those are my life updates moving on to pop culture news world news um daylight savings is here bitches okay sunday this sunday we're springing forward we're getting that early morning sunlight again is that how it works and then it's lighter later or is it darker wait spring forward whatever all i know is we're gonna have more sun now and spring's coming the weather's changing it's gonna be it's gonna start getting more beautiful out so that's something we can all look forward to and and you know high five about because I feel like especially in
Starting point is 00:15:07 California we've been fucking through it and I'm over it and I'm ready to just like I live by the beach like all I want to do every day is finish my day at the beach and lay out and like I just can't do that right now so can't wait for daylight savings and the spring and the summer and the heat come back um yeah next up we have uh selena and hayley drama do i want to get into this um yeah there's a lot of drama around hayley bieber being a bully to selena gomez or like kylie and hayley mocking selena gomez's eyebrows honestly don't give a fuck it's just a circus out there with this story and there's like I don't I don't even care enough to talk about this I'm not even gonna talk about it but like that's happening um you know what I'll say this because
Starting point is 00:16:01 Selena did her her brows she posted a picture or a video or something of her laminated brows and I am team no one looks good with laminated brows like that trend needs to die so Selena like I'm glad she called herself out on that and she said she overdid her brows or like over laminated them because they did look like shit no one looks good with that I don't understand here's what I don't get about laminated brows and maybe my eye I see things differently than other people but like I don't understand how people can look in the mirror with their stuck up like hairs they're bushy stuck up laminated eyebrow hairs look themselves in the mirror and think that it looks good because I've seen it in person it is so like it's like really
Starting point is 00:16:52 it's just so like you can't not look at it I find myself when people have laminated brows I'm just staring at their bushy like stuck up eyebrows like that's all I see when I look at their face so uh yeah that needs to end like I like a normal just fill in your brows normally don't fucking what does it do it relaxes the hair like almost like getting um it's like the opposite of a perm right it like permanently like flattens the hair I don't really know I've never done it um maybe I should maybe I'm missing out maybe it would look better on my face um so selena and hayley drama taiga dating avril lavigne oh yeah let me play this tiktok for you guys this is fucking insane this girl does like breakdowns like um she whiteboards out
Starting point is 00:17:45 like how people are connected and what is that called like a little flow chart she makes these flow charts so she did one for avril lavigne and taiga because i guess they're dating and it's so fucking insane wait let me go to my save tiktoks um I hope I saved it or those are my liked ones not not my saved okay here we go 32 million views okay ready for this let's begin Tyga is now dating Avril Lavigne why is this a big deal let me show you. Tyga used to be with and has a baby with Blac Chyna. Blac Chyna used to be with and has a baby with Rob Carnassian. Rob Carnassian is half siblings with Kylie Jenner. Why does that matter? Kylie Jenner used to date Tyga. Kylie Jenner also has another half sibling named Brody
Starting point is 00:18:44 Jenner, who we all know from the hills, Laguna Beach, yada yada. Why is that a big deal? Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne used to be in a very serious relationship, so serious that they actually went to Kim Kardashian's wedding together to Chris Humphries, who we don't like to talk about. Let's go back to Tyga for a second. Tyga used to be married to someone named Jordan Craig. You may not know who that is, but fun fact, Jordan Craig used to be with and has the first baby of third semester Thompson, also known as Tristan Thompson, who we also don't like to talk about. Tristan, as we know, used to be with Khloe and has two babies chloe is siblings with kim with brody with kylie and with rob and with courtney
Starting point is 00:19:26 kardashian who's married to travis parker travis parker is a musician as we all know and one of his protégés is someone named mod sun mod sun used to be engaged to avril lavigne a few weeks ago and avril lavigne is signed to travis parker's record label there you have it folks let's begin oh my god okay so I feel like you needed the visual to understand that fully but her name's um abs abby abs on abs bond a b b z b o n on tiktok she does this a lot she she broke down what was the other one she broke down the vanderpump rules drama yeah she broke the I don't know if you've heard about that but there's like Vanderpump Rules drama with Tom Sandoval and someone named Raquel I used to watch that show so I don't really I don't really know
Starting point is 00:20:23 exactly what's going on but I know that it's something's happening and it's not good and I guess Raquel posted a picture that was immature I don't know so moving on in other news Chris Rock came out the new special addressing the Will Smith slap I haven't watched it yet I haven't really heard anything about it so I might watch that this weekend actually um that came out and then finally I had to include this because I can't I feel like everyone's posting about it like it's this salt your water trend okay like everyone's reposting little like memes and health and wellness posts from different fitness people about the benefits of salting your water like everyone I feel like it just happened all of a sudden like
Starting point is 00:21:23 10 times a day I'll see a post about salting your water and I'm like like I I get why it's beneficial like I understand but I'm like you can also salt your food it's the same fucking thing but like no one's gonna talk about that like what's why is putting salt in your water different maybe I should look up look this up someone tell me someone send me a dm someone if you're like a nutritionist if you're you know if you're a fitness person why would it be better or how is it different to salt your water like your plain drinking water does does it get into your cells differently or hydrate you better than like eating your food with salt on it because I put salt on my food when I cook so I feel like I'm getting
Starting point is 00:22:16 salt in my body that way too isn't it the same thing isn't it the same thing it's so trendy to tell people to salt your water now. Like everyone's like so into it. So, um, and I think the best salt to use is Himalayan pink salt. Like no one's telling you to put iodized or like plain Morton, Morton, uh, Morton table salt in your water. It's, I think it's the Himalayan sea salt. That's a highly, um, encouraged. Okay. I think that's it for like news shit. Um, let's get into the Q&A damn I might be able to do this in under an hour um first question I mentioned this on the last episode that I was gonna address no one's no one actually asked me this but I'm gonna address it now because I feel like I have a lot of new
Starting point is 00:23:13 listeners and you might not know the story about how I got into podcasting so question number one me to myself Jacqueline how'd you get into podcasting how did you start your podcast tell me the story about it okay so once upon a time it's 2020 okay let me take you back a couple years three years now a couple couple in a few months it's 2020 uh I move into my own place closer to the city in San Diego it's a one-bedroom apartment and shit gets locked down I lose my job I'm on unemployment I gain like 35 pounds I'm just a fucking mess depressed nothing going on no friends no hobbies no connections no job like I'm literally just like a lost little puppy so one day in September September it was September 4th 2020 I recorded my first podcast and the way
Starting point is 00:24:17 this happened was I you know like just like you and many others I was sitting on my couch watching tv specifically I was watching the this is when Joe Rogan used to have like full youtube um podcast episodes up i sat down at like 9 p.m and turned on the joe rogan duncan trussell episode in his studio in the studio this was the last episode in his old studio before he moved to austin it was a five-hour episode they were wearing like spacesuits and i was committed i sat down on my couch I was like okay I'm gonna watch this whole thing it's five hours like they always have like the craziest conversations and Duncan's amazing and I was like really excited to watch it and then you know in typical me fashion I'm watching the podcast on the tv and also scrolling
Starting point is 00:25:17 social media at the same time just being a complete piece of fucking millennial trash like I feel like it's a you can like passively watch a youtube podcast and be on your phone the same time and it's like fine um anyways 10 minutes into the rogan episode i get a dm from someone named kane i think kanye kane a follower of mine and he said you should do a podcast about this topic or something in reply he replied to one of my stories like you should do a podcast on this topic so literally like something took over my body I really believe that my podcast was like the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ I didn't choose it God put like like I didn't how did Mary get pregnant she it was an immaculate conception she didn't you know what I mean it was
Starting point is 00:26:14 like put into her womb jesus was put there by god i feel like i didn't this was like it the all the stars line like the sky opened and this shit just like happened to me like i don't know how to explain it because i without hesitation grabbed my old tangled up apple headphones like the wire ones with a little microphone on it I grabbed those plugged it into my phone I had this audio recording app and I did an entire I just sat down on my couch stopped the Rogan episode and did an entire podcast about um every month I like recapped month by month of my 2020 experience and the second like literally the second I started recording and hearing my voice and my headphones because like you hear the monitoring I just felt
Starting point is 00:27:14 like oh fuck this is this is what I'm supposed to do I get it now like I've heard for so long people saying like you know like one day it came to me or like one day I found my thing and all the stars aligned and then you know I was searching for so long and I never really had something going for myself and then one day it clicked and then now I'm a public speaker talking about mental health on or I'm doing TED talks or I'm a life coach or I'm a fucking I don't know like a I have a tree cutting business like it came to them right so that happened to me with a podcast I didn't choose podcasting kind of just came to me and yeah that's the story I literally got the bug immediately I felt such a release and such a like I just it just felt I just felt so
Starting point is 00:28:07 good after I talked it out right it was almost like a personal therapy session and I committed from after that day I said I'm doing this seven days a week for a year I'm doing this every single day and I literally I didn't make it a year I made it 300 days but I did it 300 days in a row if you go back to my old episodes it's like literally every single day uh I didn't edit I just talked and posted it and um yeah that's the story I September 4th 2020 sitting on my couch with my little headphones my little apple headphones um yeah I kind of like it's I never wanted to be a podcast a podcast host I never like wasn't something I thought about um I knew people podcasted I was I always listened to them
Starting point is 00:28:59 I was a big fan of podcasting but I didn't I don't know I just like that I just like that it was like it fell in my lap there's something about the way it started that makes me really happy I don't know how to explain it feels very organic and natural and and it doesn't feel forced you know it's the best it's the fucking best i love it and yeah let's get into the next question that's um a little more entertaining here um speaking of drink prime i just was on their instagram is george janko still on the impulsive podcast or was he like actually kicked off is he on the new episodes i used to i guess wait it looks like he is they just did a podcast with jake and he's in the picture but i think
Starting point is 00:29:53 i think george went off and made his own podcast so he's not actually like kicked off the show oh yeah he's in all of these pictures anyways um how do i get to these questions let me get to the questions um oh my god okay like this this kind of shit just makes me go like I mean I'll answer it like literally the first question was favorite little black dress and the second one they asked was bikini or lingerie um bikini and lingerie is how I would answer that I don't know why you would have to pick either or um both i'll wear lingerie as a bikini like i can't tell you how many times i've gone out to
Starting point is 00:30:43 the beach and laid out in my fucking thong of my just my normal underwear um like but yeah bikini or lingerie the answer is both um i actually need a lot of new bikinis i i do this like every every year a couple times a year I'll like take all my bikinis out and try them on and I did that a couple weeks ago and I was like this just isn't working anymore like this just doesn't I can't so I don't know how to explain it like I just don't like having I don't like wearing the same bikinis year after year after year after year I feel like you need to like update them and um a lot of them are or a lot of mine are just they don't fit right anymore so okay next question oh how did you get better at yoga how often do you whiten your teeth to keep them white okay so how did
Starting point is 00:31:38 I get better at yoga I've always been extremely flexible I feel like I'm naturally a natural body type is I'm a I'm a brick shithouse like I have a lot of muscle on my body especially my lower body just my genetics but I've always even though I've had a lot of I've been muscle bound I have a ton of my flexibility is like I don't even know how I'm just like super flexible and so like if I haven't done yoga in six months and I just whip out this I can whip out the splits no issue like I just have that I it comes back to me really quickly but I'd say the lifting weights has helped with yoga um like being stronger I I noticed that the last time I like did a little session a little flow I was like oh my god I can like hold this position and I feel so strong when
Starting point is 00:32:34 I'm doing it versus before when I wasn't lifting weights and just doing yoga I didn't feel I felt more like weak and I would like I don't know just like it would suck more so it's not like I stretch every day and work on my flexibility every day like I do little morning stretches before my workout but not nothing where I'm like trying to get better at yoga um the way to get better at yoga is to do more yoga um when I used to do it I was a hot yoga I went on a I was in a Jesus I was on a hot yoga kick for like six months and I literally did it like seven days a week um I was addicted to it and my posture had never been better my arms never looked more shredded like my abs were insane like it I think yoga is like the best thing for your body everyone should
Starting point is 00:33:28 do it I don't do enough of it I feel like I'm getting back into it now because I feel like my new thing with my fitness and body you didn't ask this question by the way but is to shock it more often and to make it confused more often. Because when I think about my fitness and my workout routines over the last few years, like I don't stick with the same thing all the time. Like I'll mix it up a lot. And I think that helps keep her body really in shape. Um, not that I'm in the best shape ever. I feel like the running's helping me right now. I feel like I'm getting more lean and my lungs are so much healthier than they were before um but like I've been lifting weights and running where before I'd get on a running kick for a few months and only run and not lift
Starting point is 00:34:18 weights and then I think it's better to kind of mix it up and do both is do that make sense like do a couple do like right now I'm doing a Monday Wednesday Friday long run or like hard run doesn't I mean, I'll go like four or five miles, but like at a high, I'll do sprints. I'll, I'll kind of mix up the pace, I guess. And I'll do sprints or I'll run on an incline. I'll go at a lower speed for a little bit. So I'm really like mixing it up and then I'll lift glutes. Cause I don't want running to make my ass go away. Cause it definitely does. If you don't lift, I do a hardcore heavy glute workout um usually like Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday that's kind of my new thing now so yeah um what was the question that went with that how do you get better at yoga
Starting point is 00:35:14 and um how often do I whiten my teeth to keep them white um I have the white strips and like maybe twice a year I'll go hard with the white strips for like a couple weeks but for the most part I'm just brushing I don't know I use like a Colgate the the red tube I use the Colgate red uh whitening toothpaste and a Sonicare toothbrush that I just got a few months ago and I feel like I mean I drink coffee I feel like I'm really bad about whitening my teeth I actually want to get them professionally whitened because every now and then I'll like meet someone I'll like start talking to someone and in person I'll see their teeth and I'm like oh my god like they
Starting point is 00:36:05 have like their teeth are so white I think it can look fakey but I think on me because my teeth are I have straight teeth but they're not like veneer perfected like veneer looking teeth so I probably could get away with getting, getting them super whitened, um, where it would still kind of look natural and like my actual teeth. So, um, yeah, I, I don't know. I brush my teeth every day. What should I get? How do you deal with relationship anxiety? What's your go-to healthy lunch slash snack so I don't have relationship anxiety in my current relationship at all um how I would deal with relationship anxiety this is what I would tell my younger self if you have anxiety in a relationship about your person your other your partner um if they're
Starting point is 00:37:05 making you anxious and they don't make you feel safe and like loved fully and and secure dump them like get rid of them like break up with them because I can't tell you how many times in the past I would literally have like my stomach would drop my heart would race I'd you know I'd be on edge and nervous and worried and like because they were giving me endless reasons to feel that way it wasn't me just being paranoid when I really think about it because I've had to square up and look myself in the mirror and go like you know during my breakups in the past like you know what role did I play right like I know maybe I did something here like because I'm always like trying to take accountability and I know it can be a two-way street I've I'm you know I'm
Starting point is 00:37:55 trying to like get I'm trying to work on myself at the same time you know so in the past though I would be like it was all the tip it was the typical stuff like guys making me anxious because they would literally be cheating on me behind my back like I don't know why I just the cheating things just the little things even a little like shady things that make you anxious like break up with them break up with them break up with them you don't you that's just not help like you don't deserve that um and when I was real young in relationships I would try to look the other way and pretend I didn't see stuff or like you know and that's that eats you alive so tips for relationship anxiety how else could I talk about this or or um what other tips could
Starting point is 00:38:48 I give um you just in my opinion like I said I'm not I don't have anxiety in my relationship the feeling you should have when you're with the right person is like it is you are always relaxed every time you're around them you feel calm you feel relaxed they never make you feel anxious and worried and insecure or you just feel like I don't know how to explain I mean that's how I would explain it um and until you have that you'll it's hard it's annoying it's like you if you don't what's the whole like what's the phrase um until you have it you'll never know or um just don't settle until you have that I guess is my advice don't settle someone's making you anxious that's not normal um controversial
Starting point is 00:39:48 opinion I don't think fighting in a relationship is normal either I think that's something that's super normalized like in a marriage or once you know after two years and you've had your few fights and like you got to learn how to fight in a healthy way it's like I don't fighting yelling at each other screaming getting in like tiffs all the time and resenting your partner for little shit is like I don't think that that's good or I don't if you're really meant for that person I don't think you should be that would happen I mean Corey and I get into little like we don't we've we literally have never fought and yeah we're never mad for real it's never like we're actually we never even yeah like literally
Starting point is 00:40:39 we don't bicker all we do is fucking laugh like literally everything even if it's like a little like honey can you get me a water and then i cop cop an attitude it's not like he gets pissed off of me because i'll cop an attitude like i don't want to do it and then we'll like end up laughing at some point over that stupid little thing um but yeah I don't think you're fighting with your partner just don't fucking like it should be so like you are on the same wavelength you're having fun you feel relaxed you feel calm I mean I even remember this is this is anxiety that I used to have I even remember guys like my ex-boyfriends picking me up at my house and feeling anxious and nervous like or being nervous about how I look like if I don't look perfect you
Starting point is 00:41:31 know I don't want them to see me look like unkept or whatever like I don't want them to see my zits or my weird like nail chip or like it was bad when I was younger it was really bad I was always nervous with my boyfriends always anxious always on edge especially with the cheating stuff and the shady stuff behind my back like I was just picking the wrong guys um but yeah my advice is if it doesn't feel like peace and tranquility get the fuck out because it's just not worth it if you're gonna spend that you're gonna be in a long-term relationship and if you're gonna spend your life with someone like it should just feel 10 out of 10 like amazing when you're around them it should never feel like you're anxious I don't know that's just my opinion um
Starting point is 00:42:18 I think the only time wait the only time Corey made me feel anxious I'll just be real right now was when there was a girl that walked in the we were on the Stairmaster doing cardio together and I love working out at the gym with him by the way I don't know why like something about him doing cardio with me or like lifting with me it's so fucking fun like I I don't know I love working out with with Corey so anyways this girl walks in while we're on the Stairmaster and smiles at Corey and then oh he's calling me right now um fuck honey I'm recording I'm not done yet I texted him I'm doing this this girl walks in and smiles at him and I caught him like smiling back like and I didn't know what it was I was like what the fuck and then she was like
Starting point is 00:43:06 on the bike next to us smiling at her phone and like look I thought she was looking up at him and like smiling text I was like so like who is this bitch right like you know and that it made me uncomfortable because of his how he I don't know just the way they looked at each other I was like what the fuck that is me being my that is my psycho side coming out and my super deeply insecure side coming out and I like called him out on him I was like who's that like do you know her like and he's like no I was just being nice smiling back like that's what you do when someone looks even smiled you know so which I I was like oh duh I'm just past stuff was coming up where like I would be so like insecure about my man looking around and like having a wandering eye and I'm
Starting point is 00:43:53 just like fuck I mean I think it's normal if you're in a relationship like I think if you can both be like that person's hot or she's pretty or he's handsome or whatever if you can say that about other people to each other and just like be cool about it that's to me super healthy because like that's a normal human being thing to do is to see people and be attracted to them that's that will never go away even if you're in a relationship I think it's insane if you expect your man or your woman to like have complete blinders on they're never allowed to look they're never allowed to like think anything like no that's just not normal so we can make comments all the time I think we did it yesterday I was like oh do you really talking about someone we
Starting point is 00:44:40 saw that was really attractive and like yeah I'm so chilled out about it now um but you live and learn right um what was the second part of that question what's your go-to healthy lunch slash snack well quest quest bars um the new the new fucking recipe um that's a nice little like pre-driving range snack like if I need something in the car like on the go I'll do like a protein bar um recently I've been on my rice cake uh avocado egg kick um I do this I get these tomato basil rice cakes and they're so fucking good the tomato basil rice cakes a fried egg just a normal egg and then avocado with everything but the bagel on it and then some sriracha it's like a perfect little breakfast lunch situation um go to snacks like let me actually
Starting point is 00:45:46 think of snacks I've been eating recently um pork rinds we've been having a lot of pork rinds from from I got this bag at Costco I think they're called like 365 no what at 405 fucking I don't know pork rinds with like chili on the like chili flavored or the ones we just ate were cheddar jalapeno um but we get a lot of like beef jerky um like the snacks in the household he's calling me again fuck okay this might be like i need to stop recording a double call within a couple minutes no text message though make i'll make him text me is that bad honey i'm recording i've got to stay on task i don't want to lose my train of thought um yeah the snacks in this household are like protein bars beef jerky pork rinds like rice crackers rice cakes apples oranges
Starting point is 00:46:46 bananas um turkey meat just like lunch meat um we have string cheese yeah shit like that I mean we keep it tight here for the most part um I'm not like OCD about eating healthy but I like to have healthy snacks at home I think it's stupid if you're like filling your entire pantry full like oreos and fucking Lay's potato chips like there's better options out there buy those don't be a piece of trash like like take care of your body and fuel it properly and like it's not that fucking hard if there's like a healthier option buy that buy that okay um we'll get oreos every now and then or um what's in the freezer oh another snack we're obsessed with is edamame so we get like a costco-sized bag of edamame and um we'll snack on that sometimes popcorn's a great
Starting point is 00:47:40 snack yeah um moving on golf tips i play with my boyfriend's club clubs should we would a lady's set make it easier to play golf tips i mean golf tips okay i feel like so I just started playing or not playing I've been learning the fundamentals of golf since May last year and I go to the driving range three to four times a week to practice maybe not that much maybe some weeks it's like three to four times a week some weeks it's like two times a week I'm consistently practicing so tip number one is practice practice practice don't just practice doesn't practice does not make perfect perfect practice makes perfect okay when you go the driving range when you're working on putting chipping whatever it is
Starting point is 00:48:36 like you have to be really focused on you have to have a a goal or like a something to like yesterday when I was practicing I was just thinking about clearing my hips and that's something I practiced and that was my swing thought and I usually have like one to two swing thoughts I mean ideally just one but yeah you want to go in there with an intention and something to focus on and I don't know golf tips like I went golfing the most I've ever played I played nine holes last April with my ex-boyfriend and now we're going that same fucking course with my new boyfriend like it's just so crazy um there's just a timeline of that fucking situation um or like the full circle like Corey and I met like two weeks after two weeks after I broke up
Starting point is 00:49:32 with my ex and we our first date was at that at the same golf course yeah I don't know it's like a stupid long story short I don't want to get into um I don't know what I'm saying but uh golfing what did i just lost my train of thought um practice perfect practice makes perfect oh yeah i was saying that i played nine holes that was back last year and it's you need to actually play you actually if you're like me like everyone's like you need to go play golf like you need to actually like play around and like stop being a driving range wrap because this isn't going to make you get any you're not going to get any better unless you're actually playing like you can work on your swing and try to perfect it but once it's not
Starting point is 00:50:23 gonna show itself and its effectiveness your swing until you're actually playing out on the on the course so play golf practice a lot um be consistent um there's a lot of like rules in golf that are good rules for life and I think being consistent and being focused and like letting things go like if you hit a bad shot like letting it go and moving on to the next shot and focusing on the next hole is or the next thing in life is a good lesson um yeah I don't know just like and as far as the clubs go ideal situation you're getting fitted you're getting a full set of golf clubs fitted to your body if you play with your boyfriends like they're probably if you're shorter than him they're probably too long or too big I mean you can choke down a little
Starting point is 00:51:19 and make it work I don't know it just depends like what you want to do like do you want to go pro with this are you trying to be like the best in the world of golf you're just trying to be like a weekend golfer where you're able to keep up with your boyfriend and his friends when you go out there or your girlfriends if they're good at golf like it just depends what you're trying to do in my uh case I'm trying to be the next Nelly Korda okay I'm trying I'm kidding like I I've said this before on here I'm like what's the point of playing golf if you suck at it like I just want to be as good as fucking possible and I'm like I just know myself and if you heard me earlier I did a podcast 300 days in a row my personality type is like I have a very
Starting point is 00:52:04 like I get obsessed about stuff and then I just that's all I'll do it's all I think about it's all I care about and I that's how I am with golf right now so I mean I'm trying to I just want to be able to break if I can break a hundred by the end of this year I'd be very happy um we'll see I'm gonna start officially playing this weekend and then we'll I'll probably play every weekend every other weekend thereafter and I mean that's how you get better you have to play so golf tips play golf um and like get a oh my god why didn't I mention this at first get a coach have someone get a golf coach like you need a coach I you need to have someone evaluate what you're doing and give you tips and swing thoughts and help adjust your swing and give you things to
Starting point is 00:52:59 practice on and yeah getting a coach is I would say if you want to get better at golf that's like the first thing I would do um do I get my hair done or do I cut it myself go to skincare products I loved your skin medica rec by the way um I cut my own hair oh my god I cut my own hair like two weeks ago um my hair grows really fast and the ends are so damaged from when I went bleach blonde so I've been I'd say like every other month trimming it myself and then like twice a year maybe only once a year actually I'll get it professionally cut but I do this thing where I pull I part my hair down the middle and I pull all the hair forward and then I literally just chop it like and I try to line it up so they're even and then I'll do my own facial framing and
Starting point is 00:53:54 my own bangs like I'll trim the edges so it frames my face well um I've been doing this for like since high school cutting my own hair um but I definitely need to get it shaped up and kind of um thinned out because my hair is so fucking thick like I'm just bad with my hair I'm trying to like I I'm trying to be better at it but I don't think it's it's like wishful wishful thinking every time I like get ready to go out or do something my focus is like outfit skincare makeup hair last like it's never all about the hair first or like I'm never like trying to make my hair look the best but um anyways the other day louis oh he's playing with his toy i have the dogs here
Starting point is 00:54:48 babysitting today um the other the other day i took a mirror my like makeup mirror and i held it held it up so i could see the back of my head because i straightened my hair and i wanted to see it was all all the way straight and i had there's like a chunk that was like a half an inch longer from when i cut my hair so uh my tip if you're gonna cut your own hair i said check check it check the back and make sure it's all lined up like I don't know why I didn't do that I literally just like cut it in the front I was like okay it's good moved on um the thing is about having long hair because my hair is like almost it's like halfway down my back is you it doesn't look that different like you don't really notice the haircut until you get short hair you
Starting point is 00:55:34 start to notice it but like I can trim it myself and no one would ever notice like yeah so um let's see green flag date questions opinion on older women dating younger men we're talking two to four years green flag date questions like questions to ask on a date um I'm not into this like new age like okay let's get everything off the table on your first date like what's your um like first date what's your biggest insecurity what's the most um like what what's your shit like what what are your mental health issues what what are you diagnosed with what are your meds like all these like um mental health related questions where
Starting point is 00:56:33 you're trying to like really find out about the person's like deepest darkest shit on the first date like let's just get it out on the table so I know everything about you right off the bat all the bad stuff tell me all the bad stuff about you first like that's like a trend I've seen like but it's kind of obnoxious in my opinion like don't like maybe ask a couple of those kind of in a light-hearted way like I mean green flag first date questions obviously ask them about like themselves a lot get the other person talking um ask them about like their you know what they do and their family and where
Starting point is 00:57:17 their front like their upbringing and their just like their hobbies their it's it's it should be a natural honestly like if you're maybe some people aren't good conversationalists with new people but like if it's awkward maybe that's a good a red flag like it shouldn't be awkward if you're vibing with the other person you can kind of talk about whatever um it should just flow naturally um trying to think about green flag first date questions okay this cut off because cory just called me again um and also we we've been tmi but we've been drinking metamucil and well he's been drinking metamucil and i've been drinking um it's called colon broom it's a same thing but like i guess
Starting point is 00:58:12 less processed it's like the like you buy it at colon broom and like whole foods you brought you buy metamucil at cvs if you get the picture so um the timing of him calling worked out here because nature also was calling if you know what I'm saying so did I say that say that on the last episode I was like or maybe I didn't I think I wrote this on one of my controversial opinions or like one of my opinions in general on that list I was saying I wrote down that like if let me just read it as I wrote it um one of my opinions fake plants are unacceptable um there's no such thing as a dessert being too rich I wrote that if you don't like mayonnaise you're a little bitch if you think a cupcake has too much frosting you're also a little bitch
Starting point is 00:59:06 Jake Gyllenhaal is an underrated actor oh my god I wrote so much on here um where's the one about like couples that can't talk about shitting and pissing okay yeah let me just i can i can just say it off the cuff i think that if you're in a relationship and you can't literally shit with the door open or feel comfortable taking a shit and they're sitting on your lap like or they're in the same room or okay that's a little bit far but like if you don't if you can't even talk about if you if you're a girl and you can't tell your boyfriend like hey i need to go the bathroom like i need to take a shit like if you can't even say that and you're always hiding it like first of all i think that's i think couples that can like
Starting point is 00:59:52 when that's all out on the table and it's not weird and it's just part of the daily conversation i think that's like honestly good for for your sex life too like nothing is gross if that makes sense and that's how it should be um if that yeah like you shouldn't feel like your body and the thing like the natural thing it does should be like you're like guarded and hidden from your partner like you want all of that to be exposed you want to be fully like unleashed as a person um and as a human being with bodily functions what am i saying does that make sense like i don't know i feel like i have never felt more comfortable in that way than um until um it's just so funny how many times like the door's just wide open and I'm like I
Starting point is 01:00:53 cannot believe this is where I'm at in life right now like when I was younger like I you know another red flag this is not a question but like something if you're in a relationship that you should not put up with is a man being weird about your period in any form like I went through that in my last relationship it was like I couldn't even say I'm on my period I couldn't even like mention the word period I couldn't talk about cramps like nothing and I'm like that's also making me question my isosexuality like a guy being so grossed out by a girl like you're do you want just date a guy just come out of the closet already and date a fucking guy like you're so grossed out by women's bodies so stupid um but yeah so good timing back to the green
Starting point is 01:01:48 green flag date question you were asking um yeah just stick with the basics if it's if it's awkward if it's uncomfortable like i understand if you're on a first date with someone and it's a little awkward it might be because you're like super attracted to each other and you like can't stop smiling and there's like this giddy little butterfly thing happening and so that might might make the conversation feel a little clunky and weird I think that's normal but like if their personality isn't clicking with yours like it's just not gonna probably work out so um next question uh oh and the second part of that question was opinion on older women dating younger men two to four years so how would I my opinion do whatever the fuck you want like I don't really
Starting point is 01:02:36 have an opinion on it I think that like when I was in college I remember dating guys that were like a year younger but like that's like you're in college right I don't know if it changes when you're when you get older like if you're a guy and you're 30 and you're dating a girl who's like 35 I mean that's just on you like do you care is that like like my opinion on it is like if that works great do you like live your life like um I don't know if there's like a dynamic like the dynamic in my opinion if you're a girl who likes dating younger guys is that like do you like being is that like a motherly instinct thing you like taking care of like a little boy like I don't really know I don't have that thing where I like want to go for someone younger but is that kind
Starting point is 01:03:35 of the dynamic in those kinds of relationships I guess I don't know it's like being a cougar right like some women are cougars like some people which is kind of how they're wired I guess or what they're into I mean a 47 year old woman with a 23 year old guy that's a little bit you know strange in my opinion but two to four years I don't think there's anything wrong with I mean I just like him I mean I we have a 10 year difference Corey and I and I feel like that's I mean I like when my man is older than me because of the maturity because of the having their shit together like I don't I feel like the man should in my opinion I think it's better when the man's older but that's just from experience maybe it honestly can work both ways just again live your
Starting point is 01:04:34 life do whatever works for you um I'm trying to think though if I was my age now dating like a 22 year old guy no see no I think you'd have to be a girl or a woman well into your 30s than dating a like a guy a few years younger who's like 30 and you're maybe like 38 it's just different when you're in your early 20s so yeah um let's see next question fun date night ideas at home fun date night ideas at home well Corey and I bought Monopoly um to play at home together and we still haven't opened the box um we cook in like I think a typical date night here would be like I we cook dinner together and maybe I make like something more fancy and then maybe we open a
Starting point is 01:05:41 bottle of wine it's like pretty typical standard um we'll watch we'll watch like one of those true crime series like you know we'll watch a few episodes of something we do that every night anyways or not not every night we've been honestly we've been reading before bed a lot lately which is really nice um very zen date night ideas at home giving each other a massage maybe bathing together um we do a lot of like massages what else it's not really like a date night thing I guess I mean what do you do at home you have like food tv a shower um the floor you can like play a board game on the table the play with the dogs if you have dogs like let me look up it's like a good example i'm just curious what google says
Starting point is 01:06:41 oh fuck i just pulled up my turbo tax just like instantly triggered um actually it's not that bad this year um date night ideas at home enter 25 stay at home date night ideas that are better than netflix so have a game night for a date night at home so play monopoly um there's like couples card games and shit you could play yeah i already mentioned games this list i just want to list i don't need paragraphs to read between each one set up and set up an at-home spa date i don't know i think it'd be like corny if we just did like a spa themed like we take showers we go to bed like we put I'll do a little aroma
Starting point is 01:07:42 therapy I'll give him a massage maybe I'll do a face mask with him like that's just like a typical Tuesday night it's like to do a full fucking spa routine here it's like we'd go to a spa we wouldn't stay at home and do that so I would say like the best date night at home is cooking like cooking something maybe new like I really want to make lasagna we've been talking about me making lasagna so yeah maybe I do that and then finish the night off with like a beautiful mint chocolate chip ice cream brownie sundae with hot fudge that's a bonding moment we had the other day um let me tell you a quick story so I mean it's not the Q&A but like it's funny how I mentioned this early on when Corey and I were
Starting point is 01:08:36 dating but like there's so many moments where we have the same exact story or opinion on something or it's always like something really niche and the other day we were at Ghirardelli Ghirardelli downtown San Diego um it's like a chocolate chocolate shop right Ghirardelli chocolate right am I saying that right or is it ice cream no the chocolate they have those little like squares you can buy um yeah we went out with some friends and went there after and his favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip and so is mine and or I always get it I would say it's like it's my favorite he likes it a lot more than I do but it's kind of like my go-to my default ice cream if I had to pick one out so anyways he's like yeah when I was in Chicago
Starting point is 01:09:25 staying with my grandparents or I forget who it was a relative he's like every time I'd go there I'd always get the mint chocolate chip ice cream brownie sundae at Ghirardelli and I'm like that memory lives in my head all the fucking time like i get flashbacks to being in orlando at downtown disney at the gary deli little ice cream shop eating mint chocolate chip ice cream brownie sundae with a hot fudge like i think about that still because i remember eating it thinking this is the best thing i've ever tasted in my life that's back when i was in like seventh grade or when i was yeah like 12 or 13 so i don't know when he was telling me about like how he still thinks about it every time he's in chicago with his grandparents or for whatever relatives he's
Starting point is 01:10:13 always he'd always get that i was like that's funny i don't know stupid how much we have in common is that fun um opposites attract but also similar some being the same person in a different body is also like that's how i feel when i was i feel like so another question question someone asked was um she asked she asked asked a lot of these questions by the way I might just do all her questions same person um her question was how is it living with Corey so far and I guess this is a good segue from what I was just talking about like okay so I'm talking a lot about like relationship stuff in this episode but when I lay my head down on the pillow when I like hang out here and I work from home when I'm here I just feel and like when he comes home and
Starting point is 01:11:14 when we're together like it's so seamless and so right and there's no I just think everything about it fits like a glove and I feel so I just feel so relaxed all the fucking time and comfortable like this is my space like I know I just moved in here a couple months ago but it's weird how you can go from life you have a lot of chapters in life right and I just closed a chapter at my old apartment downtown San Diego and I moved in here with a man I met 10 months ago like literally it's been less than a year we already moved in together i mean i've done all the research i know everything about the about cohabitation before marriage or like moving in with your boyfriend before like too soon i know all about that it's just we're i think we are i'm not just saying
Starting point is 01:12:10 this either like i pinch myself every day because i'm like we're the we should be the standard whatever the fuck we have going on here this is like what should be packaged and sold as like not to say we have a perfect relation I feel like we fucking do though like I don't know how to talk about it without making it sound like we're like the little fucking fairy tale couple because that's literally how it is and as far as like how has it been living with Corey so far incredible amazing like this feels so right I would do it sooner I honestly think like I could have moved in with him like after I don't know like we just immediately it was like we both knew like within a month like it's just the connection is like insane so and then we have this like we're best friends
Starting point is 01:12:56 and um we have a lot of similar values and we that's a huge thing to like having the same kind of mindset and values and morals and beliefs and you know we both want kids we both want to get married like all the we have all that all that shit's lined up so it makes everything easier um but yeah living here has been great uh definitely an upgrade from we we called it the flea bag my old apartment um it's a little cracker box of an apartment compared to here so um yeah we have a nice little routine we have our dogs we have our the beach close by oh it's beautiful I live in fucking paradise I mean San Diego is beautiful but where I move now is like so nice I'm I feel so spoiled like fuck yeah it's great life's fucking
Starting point is 01:13:56 great um next question and I've lived okay this is the first time I've lived with someone with him with a boyfriend like the other time I lived with a guy it was high anxiety 24 7 so anxious all the time like I would I was I would have like break like mental fucking breakdowns because of this man and like there were times it got so bad where i would literally just like walk outside at like 2 a.m and stare at the stars and be like what the fuck am i doing with my life or like what's going on or like i don't know what to do i just want to like run away like it was so dark and so bad where now i'm like oh my god it's peaceful as fuck and i feel just so like cherished and like complete like my soul is so fucking happy and um at peace here so
Starting point is 01:14:54 again don't settle don't fucking settle um there's hope there's fucking hope if you're single if you're if you're you know over dating and you think men are trash you can't figure it out like just just keep it moving keep grinding keep trying um there's hope um but I also think I think some people like myself just get lucky I think we both kind of say that all the time we're like some people just meet the right person some people don't they never do they never really figure it out because think about how random it is or not there's so many people I could have met you know it's just I don't like to think about it too much because I'm like there everything happens for a reason I am one of those girls I am one of those girls but dating is so random
Starting point is 01:15:51 like who if you're on a dating app like who you're matching with who you're responding to and and having a conversation with and who you're deciding to meet up with and versus the people that you're like you still have a message yet that you could meet up with it's like it's so random you know and at the time when I met Corey the story with that this isn't the Q&A but I'll just tell the story I was like I had date I was on hinge that's how we met and I broke up with my ex and like literally the next day I had a dinner date the next night and I was just like on a dating rampage and Corey was like in the rotation where he had matched with me on hinge but I think he sent me a message and got my number he immediately got my number
Starting point is 01:16:44 then asked me if I wanted to go golfing I like didn't respond for a couple weeks he had to like like ask me again but at the time like I was going on dates with other guys there's like five or six dates before Corey and I don't know how what I'm saying it's just it's so crazy how like if I didn't text him back or if I didn't respond because I had like there was like a lot of I had a fucking roster okay like I was putting myself out there I was getting my matches I was talking to people I was going on these dates right like it's just crazy to think about that like he had to double text me and then I was like but I actually had a good reason why I didn't um well I told him I was honest I said I had a dupe he wanted to go golfing I said I got a duplicate
Starting point is 01:17:36 club I had to send everything back and I'm waiting for it to come in the mail and then we can go and I actually did that I was I stuck to my word so but anyways yeah he had it was like he had to ask me again you know um so yeah career advice february favorites have you found any friends yet tips if so top trader joe's products um top athletic gear brands oh i didn't answer the go-to skincare products on love your skin that i care about I don't know. Do you guys like this Q&A? Just kind of like meh. Gets me talking for sure. Like it gives me ideas of what to talk about. What was the question? Career advice. Here's my career
Starting point is 01:18:37 advice. I saw this question. I was talking to Corey about it last night while we were eating dinner um this is a Corey heavy episode by the way like I've been like I think the last few I've been consciously or like purposefully trying not I try to not talk so much about him but like it's hard not to honestly um anyways but we were talking at dinner last night about career advice because I was thinking about how in my experience being in my 20s not necessarily the career I have my career advice is like the classic find something you love that you could do for the rest of your life um or what's it's like find your find something you could do for the rest of your life and never get sick of and get paid for it. Right. That's that quote. Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 01:19:37 that's ideal, right? Like for me, it's like podcasting. I'll never get sick of it. I know I'll always do it for the rest of my life. Like it's not even a question. So, but the thing is with the podcast and my advice, and this could go for any hobby or any career path is to pick something at some point, my advice for you, if you're in your twenties or if you're in your thirties, I know that's like my demo, um, is to, I think it's good for you as a person to have something, to have a thing, to have a, that you're getting better at every day, like a passion project, a hobby. And it's not just your, I mean, okay, sure. If you're like a, a gym person you're working out the gym like I think it's this is different this is like having
Starting point is 01:20:30 like in my experience I was trying a bunch of stuff in my 20s but I didn't really have anything going for myself it was just like a bunch of like trial and then I dabble and then I I liked a lot of things and I dabble in a lot in a lot of things but I didn't stick to any of any one of them and I think in your 20s my advice is to pick something at some point you just have to pick something and run with it because in my experience deciding on podcasting and deciding on doing it for 300 days or for a year but I didn't make it a year god damn it doing it seven days a week like I did made me feel so it felt so fucking good to make that decision and be unwavering about it and not have and and to actually fall through fall follow
Starting point is 01:21:29 through with it same goes with for me it's like golf and podcasting those are my things um yeah I love cooking yeah I love working out I love yoga I love um my dogs I love traveling I love you know concerts and music and I've got all those things but my things my two things are golf and podcasting and when I made those decisions and when I went all in on those two things what it does is it helps with your I I had a my issue was in my 20s I had a very low self-esteem I didn't um I had a low self-esteem I wasn't ever really proud of myself about anything I was never really I had a horrible um negative self-talk and like the imposter syndrome never thought I was good enough or good at anything and I didn't really have a good sense
Starting point is 01:22:31 of identity and so picking something my advice back to the career advice question is like when you pick something it helps build those things up your confidence your self-worth your identity and how you use your self-identity and how you see yourself because I think that's important like I'm a podcast host I'm a golfer I can say that about myself it's different than being like oh yeah I like listening to podcasts and I recorded a couple and I went golfing once like that's not even in the same ballpark. I've done this 334 times. I'm a podcast host. No one can question that. No one can penetrate that and say, take that away from me. Like I've built this for myself. I've done this. And that makes me feel proud of myself. It makes me boost my confidence. It boosts
Starting point is 01:23:24 my self-esteem. I feel good about myself. And you know what I mean? And then same with golf. It's like, I haven't actually really played yet. Like I've been consistently golfing or practicing golf for the last like 10 months. So, you know, over time I'll, I'll really feel like a golfer when I'm playing a lot and doing well and playing because I want to play well. Um, but that's my advice. Like fucking just decide, decide on a couple things or one thing. I read that book called the one thing and there is something to that when you look at the greats when you look at the Michael Jordans when you look at the Tiger Woods when you look at the um Rihanna's when you look at the
Starting point is 01:24:14 Selena Gomez when you look at people um Michael Jordan for example what everyone knows him as a basketball player that was just one thing that he was great at and I think there's a lot to be said about people out there in this world that are the top one percent of what they do they're all the they're all in on it that's all they focus on it's that's their life it's almost like you give your life away to that craft that hobby that um sport whatever it is like a business jeff bezos amazon everyone that's his thing everyone knows elon musk tesla twitter now and what a fucking train wreck that is. Um, so yeah, not, it doesn't, I just think there's a lot of, it's valuable or there's a lot of, um, value in being, living a life where you've picked something
Starting point is 01:25:20 you've if you've worked at worked at it and tried to get better at it every day um career like typical like job career advice um I think it's good to get real with yourself about whether or not you're a career uh you're a career motivated person or a um because I'm not I've never cared about my professional career I've never that's not it's never been a goal of mine to like climb the corporate ladder and to be like the at an executive level at a big company like I don't that doesn't even register in my brain that's my career goal is like I want to be a mom I want to have a family like that's my end all be all like career goal my career is like and obviously the podcast like I want to
Starting point is 01:26:19 be a podcast host like I am a podcast I want to continue this um that's what motivates me as far as my career but what did I say I was like someone's like what do you do it's like I have I'm a podcast host and my nine to five but nine to five on the side to keep the lights on like it's kind of how it is and that's fine like I think there's nothing wrong if you're honest with yourself about like I am a creative person I love my maybe you're not big on TikTok but I love like you love making cooking videos on TikTok or I love making makeup videos on TikTok and that's like where you're lit up and that's what makes your little soul sing I think it's if if that's you and but you also work a corporate job on this side like the main thing you do is your job
Starting point is 01:27:08 and then the thing but that doesn't necessarily light your soul on fire i think that's okay to like not settle for that but to do that job do a good job at that job and to get your paycheck and to you know grow your professional skill and skills and resume i think it's good to do that while simultaneously letting your creative juices flow and having a passion project thing um to accompany that that really makes you happy i think if you're because what the if you're not a career driven person and if you're not a if you're not really folk um into it or like into climbing the ladder like that and you just do that and you don't um just do the corporate job for example and you don't diversify and do something that makes you really happy on the side
Starting point is 01:28:16 it's gonna suck your soul and strip your identity you're gonna just and i feel like a lot of people this is my opinion I think that happens to a lot of people they get that job they do their job and they don't really do anything else and they don't really explore their passions and I noticed I noticed myself if I don't podcast every week if I don't do something creative on a regular basis because that's just how I am a very creative person I feel boring I feel dull I feel dead inside if I just did my job and I didn't have my podcast it would be I feel like I would just fucking die like I don't so be honest with yourself if that's you because that's how I am um embrace it work that job you know do a good job at it and but make sure you're having fun on the
Starting point is 01:29:19 side and make sure you're doing you're pursuing some kind of hobby or passion or creative project on the side because yeah I think a lot of people without even realize it realizing it are miserable and they like hate their job they're like so like because they don't have anything else going on like I actually look forward to my job like I mean I work in PR I love what I do and I think it's because I'm happy I'm like I wake up happy because of all of the things I fill my life with that make me like fulfilled and happy and they fulfill me creatively especially and so then when I go work I'm not like miserable because if I only did my job like I said I would just that would I'd be so like they make me feel so like just bored um you gotta have more shit going on
Starting point is 01:30:16 in my opinion um that felt like a really long tangent that's your that's the answer for the career advice um have you found any friends yet tips if so so the answer to that is yes I have found new friends have I hung out with any of them yet no um kind of it's like I've hung out with them but not like just me and them one-on-one I've been in more of like a group setting but I have like excuse me plans coming up where I'm like gonna double date with a few people it's like Corey's gonna be with me obviously but um as far as like making new girlfriends go I've met a lot of girls I've gotten a lot of phone numbers um they're all from my gym which is awesome because I see them like literally every day so yeah I'm I'm definitely making progress on
Starting point is 01:31:15 that on that front um no one prepared me for making friends as an adult and no one prepared me for how hard that was and maybe I'm just I'm just some people are super social they're super like extroverted and they love just chumming up strangers and making friends and like they that they thrive off of that and that's just how they are I'm really if once you get to know me that's me like I'm super extroverted like that but initially like I find it very hard not very hard but it's not like I'll I'll meet people at the gym we'll talk in the sauna whatever I'll get their number and it just kind of ends there I haven't really like I'm kind of like I finally I'm like fine by that I'm like if I see you at the gym we're friends at the gym like that's good
Starting point is 01:32:08 for me I don't need 16 girlfriends to like always be doing something on the weekend with like I'd rather be golfing alone no I'm kidding um I should make golf friends if you're a girl listening and you play golf please let's be friends because um i can just see my future my golf my future um i can just see how that would make sense like making friends with people that i can go golfing with duh um so yes i what's the question have you found any friends yet tips if so yes say making my tip um I don't know I've just been talking to people to talk to me I start conversations like I'll be on the sauna and I'll be like usually usually I ask if I can put water on the rocks or if they don't want it super hot I'll like chill out on that or um I'll just like
Starting point is 01:33:10 mention the heat in the sauna and then we'll start talking about what we do for our jobs top trader joe's products um there's like blogs on this i feel like they there's like uh tiktok videos on this there's like youtube buzzfeed reviews on top trader joe's products what do i like a trader joe's i haven't been in a while we've kind of turned into a costco slash bonds household recently um let's see trader joe's like i used to go there all the fucking time the sweet potato gnocchi gnocchi or in the frozen section the dill pickle mustard the yellow mustard dill pickle obviously everything but the bagel seasoning um the popcorn with like rosemary
Starting point is 01:34:03 is really good their mangoes their dried mangoes are really good what about like dips and shit there's like the unexpected cheddar that comes out every now and then the cheese I haven't actually had that before but I know everyone loves it everyone talks about the orange chicken what else is really fucking good there the cookie butter ice cream is pretty fucking good I haven't had that in a while because there's like cookie butter swirled in it and it's it's actually fuck now i want that um yeah i don't know there's like a green goddess dressing i always buy what's that trader joe's i haven't been there in a minute um they always have like cool snacks i feel like the snacks is the snacks are the best
Starting point is 01:35:00 oh my god the I think they're the truffle the truffle potato chips are next level but you have to eat like you don't have to but like you know how some types of chips and this is how I am with salt and vinegar like after a couple you're like this is kind of the flavor is like a little too intense or it's like I'm not really loving it yet but after like 10 you're really like okay this tastes fucking great that's kind of how those chips are the truffle ones you have to have like a big ass handful and chomp down on them for like two minutes and then really get the flavor incorporated in your mouth and then I don't if you're like me and you have an oral fixation you get what I just said but like I'm a texture bitch like a potato chip by the way
Starting point is 01:35:49 needs some ridges on it it doesn't I mean that's my preference because the ridges add extra surface area for the flavor to be carried on like if you think of a ruffles oh my god cheddar ruffles i'm hungry if you can't tell i'm fucking hungry i worked out and i haven't eaten yet i had my little protein shake um the new range rover just drove by have you guys seen that yet what's your thought what are your thoughts on the new uh range rover body because it looks pretty sick there's like um this the door handles are flush they're like what would you call that they don't stick out so that looks nice the ass on the new Range Rover is really nice the Range Rover like I think it's a back window that's really different but yeah um maybe I'll do like two more
Starting point is 01:36:45 did you ever get laser is it worth it laser hair removal I think is what she's referring to no I haven't um it's on my list I definitely want to get my laser hair removal taken care of this year um what is your current morning and evening routine how do you make remote work better my morning and evening routine let's do it and then I'll end the episode um okay maybe I've talked about this before I feel like I'm repeating myself but I do the same shit like literally every day I love routine I crave routine I if I'm not in routine my life sucks I feel like a mess like right now I then what am I gonna do after this podcast I'm gonna fucking tidy up because my routine I'll get into this part there is a
Starting point is 01:37:39 portion of my day where I'm like making the apartment perfect and like clean and I get laundry going and I get the floor clean and the dishes done and um but it goes like this starts the night before my my morning routine starts at 10 p.m when we shut the lights off or when we go to bed and we tell Alexa to set an alarm for 5 a.m um so Alexa uh we we fuck with our alexis so she's so good at listening to us or she can pick up the most like blurred speech so we'll be like alexis and she'll she'll understand it and go alarm set for 5 a.m tomorrow morning so cory it's so fucking funny it'll just be like alexis i don't know if i am and then she does it anyways so that that's what we do we wake up at five
Starting point is 01:38:32 and by the way i didn't start waking up at 5 a.m i used to like a few years ago cory's the reason because when i first started dating him i'll never forget when i woke up one morning he woke me up at like five and i'm like what's going on he's like oh i'm going to the gym he works out with his friend um on like wednesdays and thursdays so he like got up and he's like I'm going to the gym like no fucking way you work out in the morning you're an early morning workout person that just gave him like that made him I swear that part of our relationship is what has been missing in all my past relationships a man who's a morning person who works out of the gym in the morning I've never dated a guy like that ever I've always
Starting point is 01:39:20 date of the guy who hates the mornings rolls out of bed late you know has a puffy morning face all morning because he didn't go to the gym who's just like sluggish complaining but they like to either stay up late or they don't stay up late they just don't work out until like the afternoon I don't know there's something about a guy that wakes up early in the morning and works out that it just helps because that's how I am right so we're on the same schedule anyways but yeah I'll never forget that moment where I was like, Holy shit, this is going to work out. Um, and now that's what we do every day. So we'll wake up, get ready for the gym. Um, well, we have a little routine with Jimmy. So when the alarm goes off at five, that's Jimmy's signal to come to my side of the
Starting point is 01:40:08 bed. Uh, Jimmy's our golden retriever, uh, by the way, if you're new, um, it's crazy how I just said our golden retriever i'm annoying sorry um jimmy puts his two little paws on the side of the bed because it's too tall for him to jump up on even though he can he doesn't because i'll lift up his um i'll take him from behind the shoulders and i'll lift him up in like literally a dead sleep i'm so tired right it's five the alarm just went off he jimmy comes over and i'm like heaving him on the bed that's the first workout of the day like i did it this morning and i'm like why do I do this this takes so much out of my body and I'm so tired and I'm always miserable when I do it because I have to lift him on the bed far enough for him to put his back legs on
Starting point is 01:40:59 the ledge of the bed and then come up on the mattress so the routine is the alarm goes off Jimmy comes on the bed we cuddle with Jimmy for like 10 to 15 minutes immediately check our phones like he might, Corey might jump on TikTok immediately. I might, or he usually goes on his different like financial apps. I've noticed that like that's his routine and first thing in the morning. Really like that about him. I feel like if you're not checking your bank accounts on a regular basis and you're avoiding looking at that, no bueno. So I like that he's like checking out the business, checking out that kind of shit first. Then we might watch a couple of TikToks, scroll the gram look at some dms whatever it's going on and then we'll get up and change for the
Starting point is 01:41:40 gym uh grab a celsius or nalani out of the fridge um i finally got that subscription from amazon i get them delivered like every other week now but we drink them so frequently frequently and there's two of us i almost eat two boxes every other week so we get an energy drink we get in the car we drink it we work out that's our morning routine we come back i'll usually we will either pick up a coffee on the way like a hot black coffee on the way back at one of our favorite coffee shops or we'll make it here at home um and then i'll ask him if he wants any food for work and then i'll make him that food if he says no i know he's lying to me and he's trying to be skinny or he'll eat he'll like go grab lunch somewhere um but yeah I'll make him food he'll
Starting point is 01:42:36 shower um I'll tidy up that's usually like while he's showering I'm still in my sweaty gym clothes I'll tidy the apartment I'll make the bed I'll make the pillows on the couch look nice that's what I'm doing my little like apartment cleanup and then we usually take the dogs out I did not mention that that's when we take the dogs out right when we get home from the gym this is really specific but like whatever um then he'll be all showered and ready for work and then either all hop in the shower and he'll kiss me goodbye while I'm in the shower or I won't shower yet and then we'll do it at the door and then he'll leave and then either he takes Louie or I keep Louis today I kept Louis um and then nine times out of ten it'll be like five minutes of him after
Starting point is 01:43:28 he leaves or not five like he'll be on the road and he'll call me again to say I love you like he did this morning and then we'll talk on the phone like four more times before noon not really we're definitely we call each other a lot throughout the day um which is kind of nice always checking in always saying hello well FaceTime um what else nighttime routine he comes home from work I work from home so I usually walk the dogs go out to dinner we we eat out we eat out a lot like we have our rotation of restaurants um yeah we like to eat good food so usually it's like a restaurant or we'll cook here at home um we'll chill we'll watch some tv i'll shower um do you shower twice a day i feel like another thing i wrote down is
Starting point is 01:44:30 like i i shower twice a day and i feel like it's gross if you get into bed and you haven't showered like even if you showered that morning i feel like you still need a second shower I just don't I don't like getting into bed at night if I I like feeling perfectly shout like clean from a shower when I get in the sheets there's like no better feeling especially if I shave my legs and put on lotion like and I'm all soft and I'm like in the bed like I think it's like good for your mental health or I don't know I feel like getting into bed kind of grimy from the day is gross I just love feeling clean um yeah then we'll watch tv or read a book and cuddle with the dogs and then go to bed that's the day I mean our life looks like
Starting point is 01:45:22 millions of other people's like I feel like our routine is very standard like work out work come home eat dinner go to bed watch some Netflix read a book go to bed repeat I mean I love my life I feel like I was telling I was actually telling him about how I am um and how I don't need a lot of pomp and circumstance and variety and spontaneity in my life to be happy I feel like what makes me happy is like very basic normal life regular shit like I love regular boring like typical you know I don't explain it like I don't need a lot of crazy experiences and things I don't need material possessions and like I don't care about any of that because when I'm happiest it's when I'm taking care of my health I'm working hard
Starting point is 01:46:23 I'm like giving I'm loving on something or someone like a dog or a person I'm yeah and helping them like I think what did Corey was he sick the other day I'm like whenever there's something wrong with him that's when I'm in my fucking prime when I'm at peak happiness it's like someone around me is sick or injured and they need my help and I get to nurse them back to health like taking care of something like even me just taking the dogs out to shit six times a day like just knowing that they're happy to go on a little walk or to run around a little bit like that fills me up so that kind of stuff I think if you can get to that point in life where you're not seeking stuff outside of the basics and you're just happy with the basics
Starting point is 01:47:16 I think that's a good place to be because here's the truth about life 90% of the time that's what life is it's the day-to-day moments of where you're in transition where like you're driving to the gym or you're someone your partner's coming home from work and they're sitting on the couch and relaxing for 15 minutes with you or you're getting in the car and driving to dinner or you're you know quickly taking the dogs out before you meet up with friends and there's like a lot of coming and going in life and transitions and and where you're not like doing something super fun but yeah if you can be happy if you can find the sweetness in those moments and the the fun and the happiness in those moments um i think that's just like
Starting point is 01:48:10 smart honestly like figure that out because that's most of life most of life is that when you look at all these high life uh live in high people live in the high life it's like they're doing that too they just might be in a fancier house driving a fancier car in a you know with more money in their bank account but like they're still showering and shitting every day and they're still walking to and from a place and it's all the same you know um it might feel nicer to be in a better house or a nicer car might feel like just like a little more comfortable um but obviously where they're different is their experiences they're able to afford and the things they're able to do um especially the ones with the fuck you money and they're buying the
Starting point is 01:49:03 the yachts and the private jets and shit um that's a whole different level but anyways you know back to the transition stuff i was talking about or like the life transitions i told cory he's like no one's ever told me this before i'm like you make those moments i know i said you make life fun those moments in life fun because the drive to the gym no longer is just driving to the gym it's driving to the gym with cory and he's making a jackass comment at five in the morning and i'm dying laughing and i my stomach hurts from laughing so hard like or just coming home or even calling me on the phone and making me laugh or it's just like he makes life fun everything is fun with him it's like he's a fucking circus clown 24 7 and
Starting point is 01:49:54 yeah it again it just makes those little simple moments in life way better when you can find the joy and the fun in them because um I hear like a lot of comedians talk about how their life on the road is just like hotel it's like hotel airport hotel airport um venue hotel airport venue it's just a lot of the same you know but if you can find like again that's a good example like maybe figure out why laying in a hotel room by yourself is a good time or like find something fun in that or I don't know like just it's the classic like wishing you were somewhere else or doing something else or you had something else or it's just so searching and seeking
Starting point is 01:50:45 in life I think in my opinion in my experience leads to um it just leads you to not being happy just I mean this is not not to get deep but like just being cool with the moment and what you have in front of you and just that's that's fucking it um and not wishing and wanting for other stuff you can have goals you can have dreams you can have visions okay that i'm not saying don't have that but be happy with where you're at on the journey okay we could sum it up on that i mean is this a three-hour fucking episode it might be did i even get down what did we talk about today um i went to cross fest i tried prime it sucked the prime energy wasn't great i saw creed
Starting point is 01:51:36 i've been taking a lot of a lot of edibles and uh writing down my opinions recently i alex murdoch alec murdoch was found guilty i'm going golfing sunday quest bar changed their formulation and it's fucking rad um daylight savings is coming up this sunday laminated eyebrows look like shit on everyone including selena gomez but i support selena gomez i think what hayley i actually don't even know the drama i just feel like hayley beaver's the villain and everyone hates her right now um I don't know what happened to be honest but uh salt your water I told you how I got into podcasting I told you about um having anxiety in a relationship fighting in a relationship um and how I don't think that's normal and it shouldn't be normalized
Starting point is 01:52:28 and I don't think it's just like part of it and I I don't know it's just amazing what people are willing to put up with especially for a long time you know including myself like I've been in multiple serious relationships so far um in my 20s I've been in like what five ever and they're all like within a couple years never dated anyone longer than that and it's just so amazing how like i think my advice today is just like end it end it fucking break up with whoever they are like it's just it's a it's a waste of time you learn your lessons right especially after the fact you're like you have something to take away you have the lessons but and i guess you kind of have
Starting point is 01:53:19 to stick things out and go through it and not break up with people to really fully understand the breadth breadth of the of the toxic relationship you were in or whatever but um yeah i just think that anything other than peace and happiness and love and calmness and relaxation anything other than that that's like fighting yelling resentment negativity um bickering being anxious cheating any of that is like it shouldn't be in a relation it shouldn't be a regular thing especially obviously like cheating but um yeah so that's my q a 39 q a 39 when i was podcasting seven days a week i used to do this every saturday so it's been a while um i think that's the it for the questions
