Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 355. Welcome back to the show. It's the 10th of November. We're literally like halfway through November. What's going on? Thanksgiving's in like two weeks um yeah I hope you're having a good November let's do a podcast it is extremely early right now okay I decided to skip the workout and work out my mind and my mouth for you today on this beautiful Friday morning um yeah it's crazy how light it is in the morning I always forget like when I wake up it feels later than it is because of daylight savings and first of all was it last Sunday yeah last Sunday was literally the longest day ever because I was on the east coast flying back to the west coast so daylight savings happened we fell
Starting point is 00:01:09 back an hour I'm on the east coast I wake up for the airport at 3 30 and then so my day started at 3 30 a.m east coast time and then when we flew back to California we were at the Olympia by the way I think I've I've obviously mentioned that but if you're new my sister's a bodybuilder she went to the Olympia and last weekend we were in Orlando so yeah we flew from the east coast to the west coast and when we got back here it was like 9 30 a.m. so 3 30 east coast do a what was a five and a half hour flight five hour flight back to the west coast get here in the morning at like 9 30 and then have an entire day um to like have an entire sunday it's not like we flew back and it's like 3 p.m no it was like literally 9 30 a.m so i don't know it was the longest day
Starting point is 00:02:08 ever i hate daylight i i it's kind of a vibe i'm trying to be positive about this darkness we get earlier but um i just i'm trying to like embrace it because there is something about the holiday season you know I'm a November is Christmas season type of chick um it's just it's to me it's like an excuse to bundle up get cozy light a candle put on your little twinkly lights at 3 p.m. or however I don't even know how it feels like it literally starts going like the sun literally starts setting at like I don't know like four I don't know um yeah I just try to like embrace it and but aren't they like trying to change the daylight savings thing in the next couple years or there's like something they're trying to pass so we don't do it yeah it's nuts
Starting point is 00:02:56 um the dogs are so confused like jimmy first of all we're feeding him the farmer's dog wait am i doing this podcast correctly okay hi welcome back to the show please hit that subscribe button wherever you're listening right now i'm on apple spotify google podcast stitcher breaker overcast wherever you listen to podcasts hit that subscribe button if you're new if you haven't done that already make sure to subscribe to this podcast I'm here every week uh yeah and let's see what else oh my god I'm blinking review the show please review the show I've been at the same amount of reviews you know I okay just do it okay like literally I've asked so many goddamn times just please review my podcast if you haven't already it would help me out helps people find
Starting point is 00:03:41 out about the show I love you thank you um it is kind of a weird thing I just said I love you like do I feel connection to you right now like okay there's it's a weird thing as a podcast host or like an influencer or youtuber or whatever or just someone in the public sphere on the internet internet zone what am I saying I just I've always thought it's kind of odd when people are like I love you I love you so much like I love you guys you guys are the best I love you and I know it's because like most of the time they say that because they feel this like they're like oh I love you because you literally gave me a career and you helped me get here and you're you know like eyeballs on my content blew me up and and because of your watching and your sharing and all those
Starting point is 00:04:31 things and liking my posts and and talking about it to your friends and whatever I have a career and I'm so thankful for that and therefore I love you I don't know that could literally happen to me but I could literally blow up and I would and be the biggest whatever podcast in the world and I I feel like it's so weird to just like spew into your microphone I love you I love you guys thank you I love you it's like it's kind of like a mean girl thing like love you review my podcast I love you bye bitch um I don't know so am I even doing this podcast correctly I knocked out daylight savings I mentioned that it's early it's the early morning dude this is what I'm cut out for I should have been a radio host I should have been a fucking radio host like early mornings are my
Starting point is 00:05:18 prime I love working out early in the morning and I also love podcasting in the morning so I think my guys podcast I was talking about her podcast format schedule uh plan once again I'm coming the internet and I'm just telling you my my fucking strategy here all the time it's just it's like a broken record but like I think Friday mornings are going to be my podcasting hour like early Friday mornings because yeah anyways we'll get into that I have a Q&A coming let me just list list off the um list off the topics of the day so I'm gonna recap the Olympia I've got a Christmas Christmas gift guide for men to share with you um and then a Q&A I asked Instagram for questions um and just a few little life updates it'll it'll be a good episode
Starting point is 00:06:16 um some things I'm getting on Amazon um a spending tip yeah let's get into it what was I just talking about I don't even remember um cool so oh like how okay yeah I I could go in 10 different 10 different directions right now but like okay uh weird transition hi you're still listening to the same podcast but I just um you know how I said I could take it in 10 different directions I went on the wrong one and I decided to delete the last 20 minutes okay I went off about influencers and I was talking about like the future of that and I was complaining about I'm just not going to do that to you today okay that's just annoying so um it's because of I was recalling that Emma Chamberlain video someone made and about how like her podcast is really
Starting point is 00:07:13 about nothing and she just needs to like literally go educate herself and most influencers just need to go educate themselves and like read a book um yeah it's it's a really interesting conversation happening right now and I actually made I made Corey sit and listen to me for like 30 minutes over dinner about this topic like I literally I went off I was just going off and I was talking about myself and how stupid I feel sometimes and how the internet is literally just like completely numbing my mind and my brain and my intellect and my education it's just fucking it up it's just and I'm I don't know if you feel the same way but like it's I I'm the internet is making me feel stupid um yeah I want to I kind of want to
Starting point is 00:08:02 talk about this maybe on another episode but um yeah it's like a really it's it's something I'm really noticing about myself post-college or it's like this weird like stunt or it's like my my mind has been stinted stunted what do you call it post-college because of social media and not being in a traditional like education system like you have to you have to like continue you have to be proactive about continuing your continuing your education post-college basically that's I'm learning this like hard lesson right now where it's like I'm almost 30 and I feel kind of like I forgot everything I've learned about history and the things that happen in the world and things going on in the world I don't really know anything deeply and
Starting point is 00:08:47 that bothers me and I was talking to Corey right and he made a good point he's like you know what you're really hard on yourself about being book smart like that's what you're talking about you're you're hardening yourself about not being well read and being able to quote like Shakespeare and shit but like you're street smart don't forget that you're worldly you're street smart you're emotionally intelligent you've got all these amazing qualities that are actually harder to learn and that's because you've had um these life experiences and you've had to go through these things in your 20s to like figure that out and get good at that so don't discredit that you're don't think you're stupid it's just that you you feel I think what it is right now and
Starting point is 00:09:26 when I watch um the news and things going on the world on tv it's like I don't even I'm like so like out of touch and I'm like I kind of want to deep dive and educate myself on that but that requires discipline and that requires like at 9 p.m instead of scrolling tiktok you got to read a book about it you know and it's like fuck um cool okay so um I have a skims skims order out for delivery and I could not be more excited right now dude I am so obsessed with skims this is my first um so I got the bra but the teardrop bra like two weeks ago and I was immediately like I need everything from skims like I just could I could tell like this is good stuff so I bought all the basic color t-shirts gray brown white black um a long sleeve and then I got some shapewear so this
Starting point is 00:10:20 is out for delivery right now and I've never been more excited and here's a spending tip I have for you okay so it's obviously the holiday season and you know we're shopping for gifts not only for other people but ourselves and something that I learned recently that is like so duh but like you really have to think or so like when you think about this it's like this is a good um habit to get into a really smart habit so basically the spending tip is instead of shopping throughout the month for stuff like when you realize oh I I'm out of um or I could use a new pair of jeans or like you know my or my favorite jeans have a stain I can't get out I need to replace them or like and that's a weird one uh what am I saying uh I need some new workout gear my stuff's getting
Starting point is 00:11:14 kind of grimy and old or like I need new shoes or when it comes to shopping for yourself throughout the month this is what I'm getting not necessarily like home stuff like if you need detergent or you know a candle or whatever um like the essential things you always have in the home that you shop through you shop for throughout the month the part you you consolidate or the part you allocate to one or two days a month is the shopping for yourself so you decide every month okay this is how much I want to spend on myself this month like fun money like I'm just going to go and go on a shopping spree for yourself like the clothes shopping the makeup shopping the things that are like extras that they're like kind of a need but kind of not you
Starting point is 00:11:58 know things you want like I'm staring at this Ferragamo belt right now um and the Celine belt that's like way I'm like I don't need it like I want it that's something I would put towards like one day of a month I would just shop for and say this is the budget this is what I'm spending and then on this day I spend it I don't do it throughout the month so that just eliminates the whole reason I'm saying this is it eliminates overspending because I don't know but I don't know about you but like I'll literally just like buy things as needed or as wanted mostly throughout the month here and there and that shit adds up and then you're just buying things at random you're not being intentional about it and it's not good for your bank account I've realized like
Starting point is 00:12:45 sometimes I look at my drawer I've gotten rid of so many clothes that I never wore just because like I randomly was on Amazon I'm like oh that's cute and I buy it you know it's like oh it's only $20 those $20 $30 Amazon purchases add the fuck up so pick a couple days a month like the end of the month the middle of the month the first month whatever it is and say okay I'm going to spend x finds the amount and this category and for me it's usually clothes or makeup you know like the fun stuff I like um and then just go go ham within that budget buy your shit and then I don't know I just I I did this so my skims is one of um I I did that with skims I decided I was like I need good basics and I know mine are kind of like getting ratty and old so I'm like I'm gonna
Starting point is 00:13:28 replace them. And I knew I was going to do that. I think I did at the end of October. Yeah. And I felt so good about it. I was like, I literally, my, I spent like the amount I, okay. My, my average spending, whatever that is, I'm not going to obviously say, but like I spent like a fourth of that in October because I was just being conscientious of it. That's insane. Okay. That's insane. So we're going into the holiday season and last year I was in a fuck it mood. I, I was shop until I was dropping and I think it's easy for me to get into that mood but it's like you know it's good to be intentional with spending is what I'm trying to teach you or tell you or repeat to you because you probably already know that just be more
Starting point is 00:14:10 intentional um the one place I will not stop saying fuck it out is the grocery store I do not skimp out when it comes to good food um and like healthy food so yeah I've got a skims delivery um uh there's your spending tip let me get into oh yeah a little thing Corey and I've been doing this week that's been kind of fun is we've been going down memory lane like I don't even know how to explain it but we've been playing like last night we played YouTube videos of like Kelly Clarkson Metallica like artists that were just like every time we hear their songs we're like holy shit we love them um who else do we watch just like all these random like old singers um
Starting point is 00:14:59 like why am i blinking right now we were watching rappers yeah we've been going down memory lane and just like playing oh like old og justin bieber justin bieber drum solos like um justin timberlake honestly tons of kelly clarkson randomly so cory um i fell in love with cory because he loves Metallica as much as I do no every time like I literally since we've met and he found he found that out like I probably like a month in that I like Metallica and he always forgets every time he's like you're kidding you're just trying to copy me or you're just saying that so I like you more and I'm like no I literally love Metallica and like I'm diehard obsessed and so somehow I think oh you know what it was I I told Alexa sorry if that just turned on your Alexa I told her to
Starting point is 00:15:46 play a Metallica song and he just like whipped his head over and he's like what the fuck and he's like you like Metallica like what like yeah and so that we went down a rabbit hole we were watching all the old like 1980s like concerts and shit when they had long hair and we were watching interviews and we were like deep diving into Metallica and we found out oh my god this is how we're gonna kick off our marriage okay I swear to god we're making this happen next August they're in Seattle and we're getting married next August and um here in California but we're like we're gonna fly to Seattle after the wedding or like I think the dates are kind of like a week apart or something so he's like let's do a Metallica concert together um to kick off the
Starting point is 00:16:28 marriage like literally a week later so yeah we've been going down memory lane um yeah listening to old songs in bed and singing to them and he has an amazing voice he's just okay something a little hidden fact about Corey or like something you would never know is he has an incredible voice like just in timber timber lake level abilities Michael Bublé like he can just his he just has an ear or whatever like the natural ability to sing really well so um excuse me so yeah that's like one of my favorite things when he starts singing like you are my fire like he has the and I grew up loving and singing and I was like oh my god he can sing just like this what the I'll never forget the first time we were in the car and he he's like can I he's like do you like
Starting point is 00:17:15 Michael Buble and I'm like yeah he's like do you mind if I sing this right now and I just I was I shouldn't I literally was like I love this man I don't like what the fuck it was so shocking how good he was I was like okay okay I feel like something I remember a lot or I like to look back on or something that makes me really happy is the car rides when we first started dating there's something about car rides and just like driving to dates or like road trips or little things you do together in the beginning like I always think back to that like when we like the first time he's like um do you want to go watch the sunset and he like drove us and sat in his car watches yeah you know shit like that cool um so we've been doing that this week let me recap
Starting point is 00:17:59 the Olympia so my sister as I mentioned last week let me drink my coffee is a let me get let me get this right a professional women's physique bodybuilder she's an Olympian she's a IFBB pro yeah she's a shit okay her body's insane she's so fucking buff it's crazy like especially in person you're like oh it almost looks like a cartoon character you're standing in front of in a good way like it's so amazing especially with the tan so she competed in the olympia um last weekend what were the dates of it yeah last weekend it was her first show her first time this was her first she literally made her debut in the physique division her pro debut in the in the first competition it's hard to talk about this because i don't
Starting point is 00:18:58 really know the sport super well basically like she got her pro card went to this show and the show in Reno and that show in Reno was the first time she stepped out on stage as a pro in the physique category she won the show she cleaned house and went to the Olympia okay now she didn't win the Olympia okay uh she didn't get that medal but she was the winner of the beauty pageant there because have you seen my sister um I always say that I'm like I wish this is a also I wish they factored in the forehead length and the chin length and then also oh my god like I'm sorry I'm not sorry I just feel like there should be a requirement if you're over that you're not considered to be a winner because yeah that's fucked up and I know that's like really fucked
Starting point is 00:19:50 up to say because I respect sports so much I respect and I get it people are on things to make them grow bigger and look bigger but um it's sometimes it's like I I'm so biased because it's my sister but I'm like she's so fucking pretty up there and she's also buff and it's such a mind fuck when you see everyone else you're like oh my god like she's just naturally god-given you know that way but cool so we went to the Olympia we stayed at the Rosen Rosen Center Hotel it was cool um we were at the Hyatt the last time we were in Orlando and I thought that's where we were staying and the Hyatt is like the Hyatt Regency is like a Vegas hotel quality and I don't know I wasn't I sound so I'm like I'm in full it was a nice hotel it's where they put up all the
Starting point is 00:20:34 bodybuilders and I think their families and guests so um we show up quick recap um we show up she was like signing stuff oh yeah it was so crazy so we walk in the big center where their or convention center place like the huge stage area on the first night we fly in and then she's signing stuff at her table she had these little cards people would get her autograph and she's like signing that and then that's where you can like go meet the bodybuilders meet the Olympians I think that's what it's called like meet the Olympians so it was insane to walk around and see the guys especially because they're so jacked like see them in person that close and they're all wearing these giant like letterman's jacket olympia coats so you could you couldn't really
Starting point is 00:21:25 see their muscles like that but you could just tell like they're they were so wide and something I didn't know is that like I'm semi-new to this like I've been I've watched her shows before she's been doing this for eight years I've gone to her shows before and I see the guys on stage but like when you're they always look so much taller on stage but when you're standing next to them they're all short like there's a few tall guys but like most of them are like under 5 10 it seems like or that 5 10 maybe is kind of the average like 5 8 maybe even shorter yeah it's crazy and they're so they're so short and so wide when you think about it like when the muscles are stacked more or more compact I feel like it looks better especially the guys in the 212 category
Starting point is 00:22:10 like they're all like little like gorillas like when especially like when you see them walking around it's crazy but yeah people are getting pictures with them um I saw Sebum he's actually way shorter than I thought he was the one where I'm like oh damn wasn't expecting that so yeah everyone was getting there's there were lines forever for him to get pictures and autographs um he's like the physique classic physique five-time Olympian now he's he won it this year again um just a specimen of a human being like they all are like I don't even know like when I watched them on the stage I'm like I didn't even I I understand like what they're looking for but it's so subjective like yeah um let me kind of keep this moving along so we walk around and
Starting point is 00:22:56 meet the Olympians and then the next day was her um what do you call it judging pre-judging and then that's when they decide who wins and that night they come back and then that's when they announced a winner so the show was Friday she didn't win but we're so proud of her and she's she did amazing and looked amazing and um like her uh bikini was like so sparkly and so pretty I think she had like the prettiest bikini um her makeup looks so good yeah so then Saturday we all walked around the expo wait what did we do Friday night oh it's so funny so my mom was there and on Thursday when we got in we like did a meet the Olympians thing walked around then Corey and I went back to the hotel and grabbed a drink
Starting point is 00:23:46 at the hotel like restaurant bar and my mom has been like by her side helping her through this entire prep because she they both live in the same town and like my mom's around so she's been by her side especially when they travel for the shows like my mom's like always with her and stuff so it was so funny because her coach was like Julia needs french fries she needs two orders of french fries and um my mom like literally cooks steak and shit on a George Foreman grill like in the hotel room like I don't know if they all do that I feel like they do like they're always like they're eating their meal prep and cooking it in hotel rooms with like random equipment random appliances but um my mom was like I think she was so just stressed
Starting point is 00:24:26 or not stressed out but just like you know exhausted from it all and she just she like came down how to drink with us and she ordered the french fries up to the room and it's crazy like how dialed in her diet is and it's to the point where like she'll uh her coach will come like assess the situation the night before and be like and he'll be like okay you need x y and z like you need a shot of olive oil a shot of vodka they literally drink like shots of vodka the night before I think it like shrinks them or shrivels them or I don't know what it does but and then they're like okay you need two orders of french fries this many grams or whatever and then you need like a bunch of steak and then go to bed or like eat a hamburger and go to bed or twinkie or
Starting point is 00:25:05 whatever um it's crazy i'm always so amazed on how like it's literally down to a science like and you can see the changes like you can like physically see the difference between like when she goes to bed and when she wakes up just based on eating that so yeah it was amazing and then on um I'm trying to think of anything funny happened that night no my mom I'm so happy to have Cory in my life he just literally like when he travels with my family and like when he's around my family it's like he just fits in like he just he can hang you know like some people I've had ex-boyfriends that just are like awkward they're an awkward fit person like personality wise with my family but Corey's like it's like it's as if he's my not my brother but like just like hangs
Starting point is 00:25:57 like he can just shoot the shit the same way and it's really nice and he can talk to my mom for hours and like talk to my sister and he was sending my sister like or I recorded him like sending her like a little like pump up you know like pep talk video and and you know she she was like so happy to have that and receive that the night before and he's just the best so on saturday um i'm gonna get to the christmas gift guide i'm looking here and the q a then i gotta keep it moving saturday we went to the expo and that's where you walk around and they have booths everywhere and then the guys were doing pre-judging for i forget what i think it was like the the kendall ones i think those are the is it called fitness the guys that like wear
Starting point is 00:26:42 the board shorts they're doing the prejudging for that and I think wellness I don't know so um yeah we walked around the expo we got some merch some freebies um they had they had a chick-fil-a station there we we ate chick-fil-a with Julia which is kind of it's always like fun post show to like eat with her because she just doesn't give a fuck she's like I want this I want that she's actually well she used to be that way now she does the reverse diet thing like hardcore where like she literally literally will have like a fun little weekend after her show and eat whatever and then like get back on the grind on Monday like she doesn't just like go off for weeks and weeks and weeks um diet wise um so I walked around the expo they had like a crossfit competition
Starting point is 00:27:27 they had like a squat competition arm wrestling competition sumo wrestling it was so cool like there was just shit everywhere to do and to watch and um all of the best okay something I didn't mention the second we got to the show because we're walking in and there's posters everywhere of like the ex Olympians ones from the past all every year you know there's like pictures of them everywhere and Corey knows everything about bodybuilding he knows he knows every bodybuilder since like the 70s since like the very beginning of this like he he is so he would point to people like we're walking around the meet and greet thing we're walking around the expo he's like oh that's so-and-so oh that's so-and-so I can't think of their names right now like Ronnie Coleman right
Starting point is 00:28:11 I think we saw it did we see I think he was there there was a lot of the um Olympians from the past there like signing autographs and stuff he knew everyone's name it was insane like he knows like this is something I didn't know about him so that was really fun because he was like teaching me stuff he could talk to Julia about it and she was like holy shit Jacqueline's fiance knows about bodybuilding like I didn't expect this like this entire the entire weekend he's just going off talking about it um it was cool it was really funny like just how much he knew um I don't know if that's like a guy thing I feel like guys always like look up to bodybuilders because I don't know guys like they're always trying to like get big and yeah anyways hold on I'm looking here okay so
Starting point is 00:28:57 like let me just keep it moving so the story about Corey at the airport um so we had an amazing weekend with my family oh my brother and his girlfriend were there and um it was so good to see them and um it was kind of like our Christmas because I'm going to Corey's family and yeah Corey's sister oh my god I can't talk hold on I'm going his way for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year so I'm not really going to see my brother and my sister and my mom like they're all going to be in Washington so um it was like a bittersweet thing like I hate leaving them I hate it's it sucks like as you get older and especially if you make a decision to like move away from your home state and your family like we all live in different corners of the U.S. my brother's in New York
Starting point is 00:29:48 I'm in California my sister's in Washington so um I always get like sappy and sad and I'm always like I hope they're all doing okay and like they're gonna be they're living a happy life like I always get emo and I I like yeah it hurts it just like hurts my little heart um yeah so we had a great weekend I'm trying to think what else happened well let me just move on because I really want to get to the gift guide and then the Q&A um so is this one take holy shit I did have to cut myself off those 20 minutes but i'm a little sick by the way i i don't want to talk about being sick trying to avoid doing all the annoying things like as much as possible like i just
Starting point is 00:30:35 i don't want to be like that so um so we're at the airport cory and i had to get there the crocodile we have clear i cannot recommend getting tsa pre-check or clear enough like that Orlando airport is the busiest I think it's the busiest or it always seems like the busiest airport like the security line in the entire country so we had clear even the clear line was kind of long so many people had it I guess but um and that's where you like scan your eyeballs or give them your DNA sample or fucking prick your finger and share your blood no they do like I think a fingerprint or your eye scan and then you just like go straight into the um like security area where you like do your back what's that called security yeah you don't have to wait in
Starting point is 00:31:24 line you just go right to it so we get through that um immediately we get to our gate and Corey's like where's my where's my card where's my card where's my card oh my god where's my card because we had taken a uber there um from the hotel and he's like I handed the guy my card and I know I put it in the thing and I don't think he gave it back to me and he's like freaking the fuck out like one thing as a woman here's a tip okay if you're with a man and he's having a freak out session don't freak out with him don't freak out with him like let it happen don't try to calm him down don't try to say anything just shut the fuck up let him be mad let him say I'm so fucking pissed right now oh my god where's it at unless here's the thing some guys if they're an a-hole
Starting point is 00:32:14 if they're like not a knight honestly this is like a red flag if as they're freaking out if they're like what the fuck like or what are you gonna do about it like if they're like pointing it at you and making it about like something you did wrong when you're like not even involved at all it's all on them like that's effed up so he's freaking out he's grabbing his pockets undoing his backpack looking through every compartment looking in his wallet again looking in his wallet again opening his wallet making sure staring at it like all the little compartments looking at his I'm emphasizing this um you'll see why um Colin Chase like freaking out it took like it was like a 10 minute meltdown um and that's what I like about him like I'm not I think it's I like when
Starting point is 00:32:56 a man is like I'm fucking pissed off right now or like I'm so like this fucking sucks they're free I like when a guy is like he gives a fuck he has like a fire fire in his belly and cares he's not just like oh whatever I'll just like go and cancel it and call chase and like it's fine like he tried he was like really trying to get his thing back and find it and um yeah I don't think that's a bad thing I think it's a bad thing if they start yelling at you though like that's not cool but um like what the fuck you should have told me to check my you should have asked the driver to give it back to me you should have known no so yeah I just sit there I let it happen i'm just like okay i've got womanized he has man eyes i'm a woman i'm probably gonna figure this
Starting point is 00:33:40 out because my eyes they're all i swear to god men there's a thing called man eyes or there's it's a phenomenon like they're always losing their phone keys and wallet always where's my phone where's my keys where's my wallet ever since i've ever started dating men i always say as they as they leave the door to go to a restaurant with me or like go on a trip or whatever i'm always like even go to work. I'm like phone keys, wallet, phone keys, wallet. That's all you have to say. P K W P K W phone keys, wallet, phone keys, wallet. So, um, today I should have said apple cause Corey wanted his apple and it was sitting on the towel in the bathroom or he had, he set it down and forgot it. And so I'm, I'm like sprinting to his car. I'm like, Corey,
Starting point is 00:34:28 your apple your apple um that's another thing like try if he if you know he just left 30 seconds ago and that apple's sitting there you know he really wanted that honey crisp apple at work today and you just stared at you don't do anything come on like put in some effort run his apple to to his car and like you know you would want him to do that for you so you know just think of the little things like that count that made it that probably made his day like those little things in a relationship or everything. Um, like put in some thought and be thoughtful, you know? So I'm like, okay, it's the dust is settling. Corey's kind of accepting that his card is gone. He's like, okay, I'll just have to cancel this or whatever. And she's kind of like, he's simmering down
Starting point is 00:35:14 and I go, why don't you check your wallet again? You're probably just, you might be staring at it. That happens to me all the time. Like I'll be, I'll lose something and I'm like holding my phone like where's my phone it's in my hand you know so I'm like why don't you just double check again and make sure you're not just staring at it his card was in his wallet it was right there behind his other card he just wasn't he was just freaking out for no reason like all he had to do is pull the cards out maybe in the beginning to see that it's right there but he just opened his wallet and it didn't immediately see it and he's like it's lost so yeah that was like the funny little uh airport quarry story i guess um i am not a fan so like early morning flights
Starting point is 00:36:00 we went to this cuban it's called zaza cute it's a it's called zaza cuban cafe or something cubanic cubana cafe like they have this jolly cuban music going so fucking loud i'm just trying to get a coffee and wake up i woke up at 3 30 like i'm not trying to like salsa dance right now like yeah we got coffee and it was like standing it was the longest line and I just my brain was like it was yeah I don't know why I'm saying this but I'm just trying to think of any other airport little things um yeah okay let's get into the Christmas gift guide for men do to do and then the Q&A try to like do this quickly so Christmas is around the corner we're all shopping for our men and this goes for I guess any this could be for your significant other
Starting point is 00:36:57 who's a man or um your dad um or your brother or I paused after dad because I'm like I'm not it's been three years I haven't touched on that subject once and I don't know if I ever will but um yeah it's kind of it is what it is it's been like 10 years um yeah this is for the men in your life these are these are my gift recommendations and things I've personally gifted Corey and at the end of the at the end of the day my tip for gifting men is to like think about what they're into and then like give them the best thing in that category or like upgrade what they have to something better or like you know what I mean so I'm just thinking of let's like a random I'm trying to think of like
Starting point is 00:37:51 what's a good example like something in golf and like get get the best glove or if there's something that's like extra special here's like a good example like most guys have belts you know they wear belts but like get them a designer belt you know like spend the extra on like something really fancy and nice or like something that's like really nice quality that's something I do with gifts like what's the peak quality in this category and then get them that if you can afford it obviously but here are my recommendations so recently I got Corey for his birthday a Voltec safe a gun safe is a great gift the one I got him has a fingerprint he just has suppresses finger and pops open and it's silent so if you're trying to get your gun out it doesn't
Starting point is 00:38:39 make any noise it's called voltec um they they make a ton of different safes i forget the one i got him but i got him the one that's also an alarm clock so it's like on the nightstand it's a gun safe it's also like you could put other stuff in it if you don't have a gun it could it could just be a safe for like your money or like your valuable stuff like it's a little safe um there's a fingerprint a passcode also if the fingerprint doesn't work it's silent holds a gun it's super tactical looking like it's I got him the black one and it just looks like a guy it just I feel like every guy would be happy to have that um even if they they're not packing heat like if they're just like into like cool shit tech gadgets like cool techie gadgets you can never
Starting point is 00:39:25 go wrong um yeah and I like that it's an alarm clock like and it charges his iPhone on top he just has to set it down and it does a full charge um without having to like plug it in so the next uh gift is a Garmin a Garmin watch now this one here's my tip for this if your man is a big like watch guy if he loves his Rolex and he loves his Patek Philippe is that what it's called if he loves his whatever fancy watch he loves I don't really know much about watches but I know men love their watches now this isn't so I got I got Coria Garmin last year uh which it's like a it's like a tactical looking Apple watch I don't know how to explain it has like GPS abilities you can like go hunting with it and like be in the mountains
Starting point is 00:40:18 and like I don't know if it's good for diving I don't know it has like all of these outdoor functions and workout functions and sleep stuff like it's it's like an apple watch just I feel like it's cooler looking if especially if you're a dude like I don't know it just like looks it looks sick so I got him a Garmin last Christmas and what I've realized and this is my tip like if your man is all about having that Rolex on that left wrist like 24-7 and you get him a Garmin like I feel like the whole point of having a smart watch or like a fitness watch is to wear all the time so you collect that data over time and it like you actually see trends you actually because that's why I love my apple watches I can see trends over time like year after year I wear
Starting point is 00:41:01 it and it helps me like I know the calorie counter is all bullshit and I know like maybe the step counters off but like even so like I can see a difference I bait or I can see the times where I'm more active less active I can see where my heart rate's been higher versus lower like I still consider it even though it's not perfect obviously I know they've studied these smart watches and it's like so off but um it just kind of keeps me on track if that makes sense so yeah I got him a garment and he wears it when he works out and that's kind of it so um or if he randomly just wants to wear it um like right now it's probably on his Voltex safe just sitting there because he takes it off after a workout and puts on his Rolex so yeah it's a great gift I think
Starting point is 00:41:44 any man who's like into fitness outdoor stuff would love it hunting there's all kinds Garmin watches okay next um gift for men anything Viore anything Viore like just get him a I got Corey or I think my mom got him this she got him like a top a sweat outfit Viore sweat outfit oh I got Corey black tees if your man's a black tee or white tee guy just buy him like four Viore t-shirts plain white or black t-shirts men like they're great like men can never have enough I feel like plain t-shirts that's like literally all guys wear it's like t-shirt and pants like it's just and it always just looks good it's just like I don't know so yeah anything Viore I'm a big fan of gifting Theraguns people like if they don't have one it's like when they get it
Starting point is 00:42:41 they're like oh my god this is the best thing in the world they'll use it for a month and then put it in their drawer and like forget about it but like those initial like oh my god this feels so amazing on my neck oh my god I didn't know I was so sore here oh my god this is the best gift ever like those initial moments are worth every penny or it's such a good like they'll be like oh my god thank you so much it's one of those gifts where they're like oh i love this and i like the theragun mini because you can travel with it it's like smaller it's the triangle one so i actually influenced cory to buy one for himself um and yeah i have one and he has one and they're both in our nightstands and we like never take them out i've been using it more though i love
Starting point is 00:43:19 using it on my my neck um okay and next gift is this could be for men and women by the way like I guess yeah full text save I don't know if you're like yeah this could be I'm just this is this is like classic dude stuff though um over nice over ear headphones like if your man is just an earbuds guy and he just has like apple airpods or like just normal earbuds and he doesn't have a nice like noise canceling or bass boosting or whatever like nice pair of over over ear headphones I think that's a really nice gift especially if they're if they travel a lot they're on planes and they don't have like I think the Bose noise canceling ones are like you know the best of the best um the Apple ones I forget what they're called the Apple over ear ones so yeah over ear headphones
Starting point is 00:44:10 um let me see what's next um anything for golf like guys love golf shit like golf clothes golf hats golf um like just nice golf stuff last year Corey wanted a three wood a specific one and I got it for him and then he just replaced it with something completely different so like honestly like it's kind of a toss-up because they change their mind about what they like what they don't like like golf club wise all the time like I swear he gets a new club every single month and he'll we'll go golfing and he'll just like pull a new one out I'm like where'd you get that he's like oh yeah just like I just got this new putter he got this new putter in July that the lab putter and it's like supposed to be like the best putter or whatever it's like center
Starting point is 00:44:54 balanced and it's like I don't know what the I kind of know what it means but anyways he's like back to his other putter now he's like original one so yeah um but they love the golf stuff if they're a golfer get him the golf stuff um a golf trying to think of like oh my god just get him a golf trip to Scotland full-on just get him a full-on like if you just want to get your guy one thing and if he's like a big golfer like send him off to um Pebble Beach just do a like have a full thing gift him that um okay on the more like everyday like you know essentials things nice skincare like a little gift bag of like nice or basket or whatever of nice skincare for men i feel like that's something that if they're not into it i think they'd appreciate getting it but
Starting point is 00:45:48 if they are into it they also appreciate getting it if you know what i mean cory likes the jack black blue bottle line of stuff um he loves the moisturizer so yeah men's skincare like or men's like wellnessy products doing a little gift bag of that stuff um yeah especially moisturizer like I don't know if your man doesn't wear moisturizer every day like that's not hard to do um like you SPF every day like get your man to start doing that if he doesn't uh shoes like getting him some cool like new balances or a deep like just some cool like casual tennis shoes um yeah like honestly I was thinking about I don't think he's gonna listen this like getting him like four like cool like swaggy I don't know how to explain it just like you know shoes are
Starting point is 00:46:41 everything when you're a guy and some guys like it's kind of here nor there and I feel like Corey he likes nice shoes but I feel like he could upgrade the sneaker game a little bit I think every guy could um because you always like I'm the same way I wear the same shoes all the time and I feel like I it'd be kind of fun to have like a whole collection like when I see sneakerheads in their closets and I'm like like dudes that show their closet off on like YouTube tours and shit they're like it's like every color every type of shoe like I think that's cool I think it'd be yeah maybe a good gift to like get a few pairs or a couple or whatever um he actually got really nice Jordans like really nice ones I don't know if he wears them anywhere the uh Jordan ones
Starting point is 00:47:26 I just remember that I think he's where he wears them sometimes but yeah um nice shoes or nice boots like some Takovas like really nice leather boots um and also like nice sweat sets like good quality like um the only company I can think of right now is um talentless what's his face is uh Scott Disick's sweats um there's so many good like it's just it's it's not the shit you know it's like the good quality like nice cotton blend like sweats and and tops like i feel like men have that one pair of sweatpants they wear 24 7 and like just yeah maybe upgrade that or replace it this christmas it's a good that's a good tip um kind of on the gadgety side of things a traeger a traeger grill a grill uh men love to grill men love talking
Starting point is 00:48:26 about grilling and if they have like a an obsession with grilling maybe upgrade them to a Traeger there's a lot of good grills out there but if they want to do the whole wood pellet thing um like Corey never shuts up about grilling and his Traeger and then we can't do it here at this apartment and we have to do it his parents house but we haven't done it because it's like kind of complicated but like he loves his Traeger I know he loves it even though we don't grill all the time he's an amazing he's so good at grilling but like yeah um a grill a Traeger grill uh a Breville Barista Express this is a little bougie if your man's into coffee or if you guys don't really have if you're living together and you don't really have like a nice espresso machine
Starting point is 00:49:06 and you're using like a normal drip coffee machine or a french press like I actually sold mine because we didn't have room for it here and I like kind of heartbroken because I love that thing um but the Breville Barista Express is really good or an espresso these are again these are gifts for anyone really I think this would be a good gift for like your mom um and then a designer wallet if their wallet's kind of chintzy maybe get them like a super nice Prada wallet or like a super nice Gucci wallet or Louis Vuitton whatever like because men use that every day and if theirs kind of sucks maybe get them like a nice nice one you know um or a Ridge wallet if you're like uh into like the bro um tactical side of things or whatever like the if you're
Starting point is 00:49:59 like into anyone joe rogan interviews on this podcast get a rage wallet um by the way i love that tim kennedy episode that just came out um he just i know i feel like he he talks about things not necessarily in an extreme way but he definitely put the fear of jesus about the world after that episode and i think sometimes it's like he kind of seems like he's always on edge about the world and like literally nothing there's horrible he's witnessed a lot of horrible things don't get me wrong especially he was just over in israel like fuck um he's seen some horrible um tragedies and death and destruction like firsthand but um yeah i try to like i know it's scary out there but like i'm trying to not
Starting point is 00:50:51 let it consume my mind too much i know it's good to be prepared that's a that's this whole thing like most americans are not prepared when if if shit goes down they're just not they're not ready and so i think his not that he's fear-mongering but like i think that episode was like okay this is a good wake-up call anyone listening is probably going to be like okay yeah i gotta start thinking about this for real because um he's like yeah it's going to be a really hard year for us really hard. He specifically was like the next 13 months are going to be pretty bad for Americans. So fuck. Uh, we'll see. Uh, there's like protests going on right now that are crazy in San Diego. Um, Oh, designer wallet. Sorry. Uh, any tech gadget, any cool little, like get
Starting point is 00:51:40 your man a security system for the home like get him like a bunch of security like spy gear I don't know what what do you guys like like cool um plugins um yeah back to the beginning of this and then I'll move on to the Q&A like think about what your man's into and then try to like upgrade it whatever he already has or like get him something that's like the best of the best in that category like think of quality I think that or don't get him anything just scratch his head and rub his back every promise to do that give him a cube or do like I'm gonna never skip rubbing your back or scratching your head for the next year I did give Corey a GQ and like an architectural digest digest subscription
Starting point is 00:52:35 last christmas which is kind of like a random extra little one like it's kind of fun we get the magazine he'll like flip through it and it's like yay but um yeah because i feel like people don't really have magazine subscriptions anymore so it's kind of fun to have that show up in the mail also i forgot the those um is this kind of like a okay sorry i'm like i feel like i feel like this is dragging out um the frames where it you can like send a picture to it um I told the story about this frame in our in our house cleaner I did oh yeah she's seen my entire body upwards downwards forwards backwards inside so the whole point of that I'm just saying like if your man is away at work and he he's in
Starting point is 00:53:26 like his own private office okay this is not out in the open and you want to send a little sexy pic during the day like this is a way for you to do that and it's kind of fun because it like randomly will go ding and then it shows up and he's like typing an email I don't know that was my mindset going into it and then ended up staying in our living room we kept it here and then I put like normal pictures obviously of like the dogs and us and whatever but every now and then it's like there she is you know that was clearly um yeah for Corey to see and just Corey and uh anyways our beautiful lovely house cleaner uh we forgot to unplug it and put it away when she came we were on a trip and she was here I think this was over the weekend we got engaged
Starting point is 00:54:09 and it was and I was so mortified when I came home oh also when my mom surprised me when we got engaged she came into the apartment and it was also like the first pic I saw i don't know why i'm telling this story like i've had multiple scares where i had to like run in really quick and then like slap it down so no one can see um we had like friends over they kind of like randomly were like hey can we come over and like hang for a bit and so we're like yeah and then i was like drinking i kind of forgot about it thank god i walked in first because i immediately saw my tits and i was like fuck me so yeah uh cool that's it for the uh gift guide let's get into the Q&A and I kind of I just
Starting point is 00:55:00 want to do let me count here one two three four five seven you know there's nine I'm gonna do fast fire Q&A okay first question I used to do these when I podcasted seven days a week I used do these every Saturday it was kind of fun I kind of miss doing it but um these are just kind of like whatever I'm just gonna do this fast fire first question would you ever do a body building competition like your sis the answer is no moving on um not for me not like my passion or anything like I appreciate it I think it's I have so much like respect for the sport I think it's like it's amazing what the human body can do like when you think about it it's like with help obviously in a lot of cases but and a fuck ton of hard work and dedication discipline like
Starting point is 00:55:53 the dieting side of it I just personally I and also like I like my body how it is I'm not like the my goal when it won't I would never be like oh I want my biceps to get as big as possible or whatever like aesthetically like it's just not what I want to look like um now I might do well I could do wellness I was thinking about that I saw the wellness girls I'm obsessed with a girl who won um I can't say her name it's like Francel Francel she's I believe Brazilian like they just look like stacked but like it's all about the ass you know it's all about the lower body and I they all just look everyone looks incredible who's even there like everyone is incredible every category but I think if I was to do want to be wellness um but I just don't think I'm gonna I
Starting point is 00:56:43 would never like pull that trigger and like actually do a show um so can you talk more about next question can you talk more about your day job so I don't really do this and I I kind of touched on it but I've said like oh I have a full-time remote job in PR and that's kind of the end of it I don't really get into details but I work for a company who distributes press releases on major websites we're a giant news distribution company and it's like here's the example when uh nike or amazon or like amazon like black friday deals or no what's like a better example when the new iphone comes out it's like that news release goes somewhere right and we our company blasts it out all over like the top websites and then what i
Starting point is 00:57:40 personally do is media relations so it's like this machine it's like taught like fortune 500 companies are clients and then they pay us to distribute their news releases on websites and then it's like we have to find those websites and that's where I come in does that make sense so I do media relations where I'm directly working with journalists with editors with publishers and I'm basically like building relationships with them and saying like hey can we post our news on your website that's my job um so yeah it's media relations I've been doing this now going into my fourth year I went to school for PR so it's kind of or it's like kind of nice knowing like oh I'm using my degree um yeah so that's my day job it's fully remote
Starting point is 00:58:31 um my team is like there's how many of us in the U.S. like five including my boss's boss i think wait one two three four five yeah and then there's like some bosses bosses bosses that come on the meeting sometimes um and then we have a europe team and a asia team so yeah it's kind of small i'm like one of in what i specifically do there's three of us in the u.s and we're each responsible for like different parts of the states um i control like the northwest the midwest um alaska what else parts of like san francisco north um yeah so it's cool it's a it's definitely um a corporate job like i'll say that i can't i came from the startup world before this and i was doing a lot of like content stuff um and then even in my media relations startup role i was doing
Starting point is 00:59:36 it was a lot of like making things up on the fly where now it's like very structured which I love because I can go to work every day and know exactly what I need to do and it's like already planned out and I don't have to like come up with it and there's not like the pressure of that isn't there um but I'll be honest and this is something I don't I don't mind saying this because I'll never sacrifice who I am for my like identity and all that for a job like I'll always that's something that I I really believe in like no job is ever worth like or you should never soccer or conceal your true identity because of a company you work for or like a job if that makes sense like I'm not gonna hide who I really am publicly like this podcast I don't even I don't
Starting point is 01:00:25 even think about it like I don't even it doesn't even cross my mind that like my boss could be listening and like oh what will she think of me on this podcast like I don't it's not I literally just don't like you can do it all you can do it all you can be yourself on your podcast and be your true like this is Jacqueline who she is day to day like talking on the internet you can also be behind a desk sending out emails to media companies or whatever and like you can do your job okay you don't have to like and I but something I want to say and this is me being completely honest and raw and like blunt in a way is I do believe as a creative person corporate America corporate life corporate work kills creativity it kills it and it's killing it has been killing
Starting point is 01:01:11 mine since I've been in it um I would say honestly since I got my first media relations job that was at a startup company but um if you're a creative like myself like I have to work this muscle or else I'll go insane but even when I am working this muscle I feel like when I started my podcast I don't know I had this light to me like I was so free I was funny I felt like I was funny I loved exercising like my humor and my like or that muscle you know like I was really creative mentally where I would come up with all these funny analogies and all these takes on the world and things going on and now I feel like over time I feel more serious and my brain isn't like working that funny bone muscle as much anymore and it's kind of like dying out and I and I and
Starting point is 01:02:04 I think when you're exhausted from working a full-time job all day like a traditional corporate full-time job and then it's time to be a creator it's like to switch into that mode is so hard especially for me like that's not something you can just I guess what I'm saying is you can't really just switch it on like I forced myself to switch it on and that's why like a lot of the times when I was doing video and I was working I was trying to do it all it was so stressful and exhausting because I would pick a time in my week where I could fit that in and then I'd be working around it if that makes sense and then I'd go from you know like structure and like corporate mind brain and then I go over to creative and like especially at night when I'd
Starting point is 01:02:56 be editing I'm like I'm so fried from working and then I go over to the editing studio now I'm like oh this is fun I'm lit up but it's also I'm exhausted you know so um I'm sure I'm not alone in this it's just it's a bitch I'll be honest it's a bitch um and I do think every aspect of a job it doesn't matter if you're in a corporate job or a creative job even it's a job like there's an aspect of it that's repetitive you're gonna do the same shit different day um and I think this the secret sauce and the ideal setup is you're working uh you're doing something you're truly deeply passionate about I'm not truly deeply passionate like I'm not like up all night thinking about like public relations you know I don't think most people in my company are I think
Starting point is 01:03:46 they're doing it because it's a job and they're good at their job and they have a lot of skills around that job but I don't think even it's not like they're foaming at the mouth thinking about it because they're it lights them up so much I think a lot of them have hobbies and things are interested in like quilting or baking or stuff outside of the job that they're like I can't wait to finish work so I can go do that you know so obviously the dream is to pursue your passion and get paid to do that so you're never feeling feel like you're working a day in your life and literally that's why I'm I'm I feel like I'm so grateful that I found my podcast because this thing literally like keeps me going like fucking keeps me happy like truly um like yeah
Starting point is 01:04:31 it's creative it's it is like a job you know I do treat it like a job like I take it seriously like that but um yeah I don't know I just had to say that to answer your question I'm not doing these rapid fire anymore oh my god I'm going off on a tangent okay next question my mom asked me when are we shopping for your wedding dress? So like literally it's almost the middle of November and we have some shopping to do for my dress and I need to plan a trip. I think I'm going to go buy it in Washington and do like a whole thing with my mom and my sister and my grandma, my aunts, like want everyone there, all the girls and, um, buy the dress in Washington. I think it'd be fun to like make a trip around it. So yeah, I don't know. I'm thinking January, get through the
Starting point is 01:05:17 holidays. And then, um, yeah. So I'm thinking, yeah, January, I have weddings in August. Most people get their shit started like way earlier, but I'm like kind of a snail. I'm the snail pace. Um, yeah, I don't know what's, I'm like learning so much about myself through this process of wedding planning and I think something not only am I hard hard on myself about being book smart or whatever I'm really hard on myself about like doing adult things and having my shit together and getting shit done like I I'm I have I ebb and flow I think I'm like not always on point and always on top of it and always go go go go go planning planning planning planning like I when I do it when I switch into it I I'm a champ and I and I get it done and I'm I'm on it but
Starting point is 01:06:12 I'm just not very I don't know how to explain it I feel like I am am I stopper no it's like I'm it just takes a lot of mental and this is why I think I have I I truly think I'm not just saying this for fun I truly think I have some form of like adult undiagnosed ADD ADHD whatever you want to call it because it takes up a lot of energy it takes me a lot I have to like get in the right mode all the stars have to align everything has to be perfect for me to just like start something sometimes especially like this wedding planning stuff like I don't just like get excited about it randomly during the day like oh like let me just work on
Starting point is 01:07:03 this right now and for the next hour like the thought of even doing if even doing that overwhelms me like I get all this I feel all this inertia and resistance before a task instead of just doing the task I'm like the whole world's falling on top of me oh my god and then I like just avoid it and then I don't do it and then it's like days and days and weeks and weeks go on and I'm like oh fuck this is for certain categories of being an adult okay this isn't everything um oh but it's funny how that is because oh when it's time to like get groceries or like that's a great example I'm like out the door smiling can't wait to go do that oh if it's like oh it's time to like fold clothes do laundry like vacuumed I'm like I love it I light up those are it's funny how
Starting point is 01:07:50 there's like a lot of adult tasks and adult things I'm like die hard for I love doing I'm actually like I feel good doing it and then there's so many words like like anytime I'm on the phone for anything healthcare related, like mental healthcare related or appointments or any of that. I'm just like, fuck me. I hate it. Like, I don't want to do it. So it's just funny how, um, certain parts of my brain light up and get excited for some. Yeah. So, um, you just have to, you just can't be a little bitch. You gotta just do it, you know, just get it done and that's kind of I I yeah my life is truly 180 though like in the last few years since starting this podcast since meeting Corey like I have never been more on top of my
Starting point is 01:08:37 shit honestly like I'm really feeling like I'm firing on all cylinders and I think what I'm learning about myself through the wedding wedding planning process through being in a relationship a long-term you know partnership you know two people planning a wedding planning a life together is that I think I'm only going to get better at navigating it all and doing it all and adding more to my plate I think I'm I'm gonna I'm learning how to juggle things and be efficient at it and to be on top of it and it just takes a lot of or not even a lot it just takes planning and time management like discipline around your time that's really what it takes and I'm really trying to get that's like a I'd say like a short term long term whatever goal
Starting point is 01:09:27 for me right now is like quit bitching about your busyness and your stress like just be better at planning and time management and that's honestly why I'm doing my podcast this morning because I'm like this is a pocket of my day like we didn't go to the gym it's early we got coffee I don't have to start work yet like I'm just gonna crank out an episode so that was smart like that's good time management you have to like pick your spots where things fit and spend time doing that and also know yourself like i'm on point in the morning i'm not on point at 4 p.m or like 6 p.m trying to make an episode okay um i'm gonna do these two questions fast same person asked two questions what happened to vlogs and they also asked are you still doing cooking videos so short answer no no
Starting point is 01:10:16 um I might do another cooking video like not saying a hundred percent I won't that was fun for three episodes um did I go off in the beginning about why I'm not doing audio or why I'm not doing video and I'm doing audio I forget but um yeah I I just like talking on the microphone I like podcasting that's what I'm gonna do okay all the frills all the video all the fun internet content stuff I'm like I just I'm kind of over it so not throwing in the towel I'm just not it's excessive it's excessive it's excessive for my life it's excessive it's not I love don't get me wrong I love creating content I love editing I love I do love it um but it's not good for me right now to do all of that um and to try to like keep up with the content creators of the world
Starting point is 01:11:22 like who are literally just doing content like that's their whole like you know so no shade to that or anything I think it's great I I kind of that will be my path it's just not my path right now so it's something where I'm like I'm being smart right now I'm being I'm trying to eliminate the stress and the excess and the unnecessary pressure I put on myself of putting out content all the time and video and video podcasts and YouTube and TikTok like it's unnecessary it's not how I make a living right now so I'm like I know that could obviously helped get me there but it's just not I'm I'm being more like yeah I'm just and I'm just kind of over it so um take a shot every time I change my mind on this on this podcast like watch me in
Starting point is 01:12:19 a week come out with a video a cooking video and I'm like guys today we're making Chinese chicken fingers or whatever like we're making Christmas cookie cookies I should do that I'm hitting a uh yeah vlogs that was for patreon not doing that also not doing cooking videos also not doing video podcast content next question what was your first job my first job technically was okay when i was okay my non-technical first job was um girl scout cookie no no that's like way too bad too far back i would say working for my grandparents christmas tree farm i helped out they would my grandpa would like pay us to like it was always like here uh do you mind feeding the animals and you know raking up some hay in the in
Starting point is 01:13:23 the stalls and like what other tasks we do maybe like mow the lawn or something here's four hundred dollars like literally the payouts were insane growing up my grandpa would just like have us do like something that was like yeah laborious and it took it took the whole day maybe but like we just he paid us so much for it um like here's like it was always like hundred dollar bills and I'm like holy fuck so I'd say working for my grandparents Christmas tree farm that transitioned into like babysitting and then my first like official job was with the Washington State Department of Ecology I was like 13 14 um and I cleaned up garbage on the side of the highway there was like six of us in a white van with hard hats and vests six of us kids who applied for this job
Starting point is 01:14:11 because I don't even know how my mom heard about it or how I found out about it but like it was a summer job opportunity you didn't have to be 16 you get paid really well we got minimum wage um it was like 762 at the time which I think is still the minimum wage in some areas um but Washington always has like the highest minimum wage and then I worked I so for two summers in like seventh and eighth grade I literally cleaned up hundreds of miles of garbage on the side of the freeway they would dump us off with a traffic cone you'd set it out on the side of the freeway like on the white line so cars wouldn't hit you and then you'd walk backwards like a mile or however probably not a mile like four football fields back and to to the van and
Starting point is 01:14:57 the van would come pick you up um we look like we're juveniles out there like um doing our community community service or whatever but yeah it was cool and then I worked at Dairy Queen I think that was like my real official first job um next question two two more questions and I'll end it my go-to sandwich um this is easy turkey okay sourdough turkey dijon mayo lettuce red onion sprouts tomato no cucumber cucumber no cucumber avocado oh provolone or yeah provolone turkey provolone avocado or no no no i changed my mind turkey swiss sourdough bread turkey swiss avocado sprouts tomatoes red onion dijon mayo actually the avocado is kind of optional sometimes I don't want it last question are you happy
Starting point is 01:16:12 guys I've been waiting for the end of the episode no I'm kidding I yes I'm very happy I'm very happy you know what I'll be honest I'm gonna do honesty hour I'm happy but I do feel stressed um my life is so sweet I it is a literal mind fucked house mind fucked I did swear a lot on this episode I do apologize I don't like doing that it's crazy sometimes how when I really like sit and think about how sweet my life is and how good my life is like I it like especially with Corey like there are so many times where I'm like is this is how does it get any better like how literally like how does our life other than having like a family and kids running around and like a bigger house like literally how does this get better it's like what the fuck like I
Starting point is 01:17:08 I've it's like you're you go your whole life you know you're going through school whatever and then you're in college and you're like dating you're in your 20s whatever you're dating you're looking or dating or looking or things are you're in relationships things don't work out you move on and then it's like boom you have a ring on your finger you're getting married you're planning a life with someone and it's like holy shit and it's the best thing in the world and like I'm literally buying like this is crazy like I'm shopping I was getting Christmas decor and I'm like on Amazon and I'm like look because I don't know they have like good stuff I was on Etsy and Amazon and I'm like these are the same literal same stocking same decor items um and it's Amazon
Starting point is 01:17:48 so it's like gonna come here faster so I'm buying stockings and I'm like oh my god like these are our Christmas stockings like I was really being I was like picking them out and I'm like we're gonna have these for a long time like maybe I'll change them out but like right now I'm thinking oh my gosh these are our forever stockings like I'm I'm starting to like buy things for us for our family you know like I bought ornaments and I'm like oh my gosh these are gonna be our ornaments like um yeah like I'm really I don't know I just it feels so fucking good that's all I have to say like if if you haven't found that I'm just saying like you'll find it someday you will and it especially when it's obviously healthy like it's the best thing ever I think
Starting point is 01:18:33 someone asked me a question I didn't want to answer it because I'm just like what the fuck they're like are you scared of marriage and I'm like why would I be getting married if I was scared of marriage like why would I like okay um my whole take is like you have one ride you have one go around and I think one of my biggest life lessons and something that I'm so happy I figured out and this is what works for me this might not be everyone's thing or this might not work for their mind and their soul or whatever but one of the best things I ever figured out is how good it feels to choose and to decide and to go all in and to never look back like I think if if you and I'm in terms of like marriage like I can't think of a better decision for me in my life than
Starting point is 01:19:31 that than like building a life with Corey like having a family and going the distance like that I would regret being wishy-washy spinning like a top living my best life doing my own things having all the free time in the world to travel to go to Pilates to like hang out with people like whatever because I don't have kids and I'm not and I'm not married I'm not living with a man or whatever like I would regret that lifestyle in that life 10 times more than and not having kids and that's the part I want to emphasize like and not looking back and having kids underneath me then um doing what I'm doing having a family and getting married like I would regret that way more I don't think it's as just I don't see it as a fulfilling route for anyone to be alone your
Starting point is 01:20:22 whole life and to just kind of be fucking off your whole life and not really settling down and even and do and and be and learning what true selflessness is and true like love and and unconditional family love kid love like they're to produce offspring like I just think that is why we're here and I think it's easy to get sold all these new ideas online and these new ways of life and oh you know we have choices now and options and opportunities as women we don't have to have families and kids and I get it like a lot of people are shunned and shit on for not doing that and they're like it's like they're looked down on and I think that's wrong I'm pro do you whatever works like live and let live I'm just saying that in my opinion I'm just saying my
Starting point is 01:21:07 opinion in my my life experience like um it's tough not everyone finds their person not everyone finds their best friend and but here's back to what I was saying you have to choose you have to pick you have to decide and that moves your life forward that will create a compounding effect in your life when you double down decide choose pick something and you're not blown in the wind you're putting anchors down and you're moving forward in your life and you're growing and you're evolving and you're especially if you if you're doing that with a person they're by your side holy shit someone you love someone who's your best friend someone who you literally like like I don't even know what to say like they're just everything to you and you they just
Starting point is 01:21:59 like make you so fucking happy every day and make you feel like life is just so fucking fun and um they light up your whole world they light up your life like um yeah I think that's the shit so I don't know what I'm saying basically um choose be decisive pick something pick a career pick a hobby pick something get good at it and go for it don't don't second guess too much or I know it's with these big life decisions And I think that's the, the, yeah, with major life decisions like marriage and kids, I get it. Like be indecisive or no, no, like be selective. Ask yourselves the big, big hard questions, like really get other opinions and think about, but, but also it's like gut feelings are everything. gut feelings are guardian angels like really tune into that too and think about don't let a lot of the outside world influence it's so easier said than done those big life choices because
Starting point is 01:23:15 think about like yeah and because that that I honestly think that is why especially women are in this position now where they're like we've been sold this lie and we all were told to go to work and to be a boss babe and to be independent women who don't need a man to take care of them blah blah and I'm all for that by the way I think having your own money having your own career and not having to depend and rely on a man is awesome I think that's great I think I have a tone on here sometimes where I'm like oh just let a man take the lead and let him take care of you don't buy shit you don't do shit you don't I think that's important. Okay. Cause when shit hits a fan in a marriage and you know,
Starting point is 01:23:57 you part your ways and you literally have nothing and you're just sitting there, it's like, that's not, you, you have to, I do believe in that somehow you don't necessarily have to be a top CEO of a company, but have something going on career wise and making money wise. Um, I think that's important for women, but, um, yeah, I think back to what I was saying though, we're in this position now as women like in society there's this shift where they're all like okay we've been told this thing and we feel gypped like we're all just exhausted we hate our lives where our hormones are all fucked up we're you know now in our late 30s having kids because we worked we were so career focused our whole entire 20s and most of our 30s and now we're single
Starting point is 01:24:43 childless and they're figuring it out then they're like oh fuck you know it's hitting it's like hitting hard works for some people doesn't work for everyone I just think that there's this conversation being had that I'm having with you right now about it like um some of those traditional courses for women to take in life have been demonized and looked down upon and um they've painted men it's painted men to be like these that's another thing everyone's like marriage the only thing marriage benefits is men I'm like are you fucking kidding me like that's their take like marriage benefits men it doesn't benefit women I'm sorry like I I think yeah I've this episode needs to end what time is it fuck me I gotta get
Starting point is 01:25:35 to work but like um speaking of being a boss baby I gotta get to work I gotta put on my pencil skirt and my red lipstick and get to the grind um to answer that last question yes I'm deeply happy I I'm so like, every day is amazing. And it's like, it's just fucking crazy. Cause I used to, I couldn't say that back, back in a few years ago, I struggled so much. And so I love all the little things and this is something I have so many little things I want to tell you, but like life is, life has a lot of transitions or days have a lot of transitional times little moments car rides walking to the mailbox walking the dog getting
Starting point is 01:26:21 up in the morning walking to the bathroom to get your toothbrush walking from the bedroom to the kitchen laying on the couch and then getting up and making coffee like there's all these little moments in the day that aren't just like the task you're doing or whatever and when you're I can't emphasize this enough find someone that makes those moments fun that makes those moments like I and I have that with Corey like I I don't I I'm so like I I'm so mind fucked I I do I do I said that earlier I'm like I'm like I've said this so many times like also like for women just love men who can make them laugh like that's a known thing but like literally I'm like it's a fucking shit show party since we we wake up like what did he do to me this morning that was just
Starting point is 01:27:09 like comical he just like I don't even know it's like our own thing it's our own thing I can't really share it and it's not gonna make sense to you guys but like yeah that's so important and I'm so happy I'm not like by myself with Jimmy in my little apartment waking up alone like some people love it I just I love living with someone I love taking care of a man and being with a man and treating and like when I say taking care of like you know running his apple to his car because he forgot it that made me feel so good it was like a little connection of what we call them points of connection you know where I was thinking of him and and looking out for him and um yeah I just really I I can't preach that and talk about that enough on this show like
Starting point is 01:27:51 it's the best and I um I've had heartbreaks I've had hard I've had bad experiences with men and I said this last last week I've never let that affect how I move forward in my next relationship And I've never let it taint my opinion of like men and, and love and marriage. Like I said last week, you know, I, my parents got divorced when I was 20 and shit at the fan. And that never initially kind of rocked my world a little bit. And it made me look at life a little differently, but, um, I'm still a little hopeless romantic at the end of the day. I'm still that little girl on the bleachers watching the football player. Like, Oh my God, you know, he's a love of my life. And I just want to date him you know that kind of shit like I've never lost that so make sure if
Starting point is 01:28:38 that's what you truly want don't let the outside world influence you to think that you should want something else if that's what your little soul wants go for it um cool okay this is it this is episode 355 thank you so much for hanging out and being here just to recap we talked about daylight savings we talked about my skims delivery coming any moment now i cannot wait um we talked about going to a metallica concert after a wedding and going down memory lane listening to kelly clarkson and singing we talked about the olympia cory losing his credit card in the airport but also not losing it because he was in his wallet the whole time christmas gift guide for men uh q a about the questions you asked um yeah that's it thank you so much for being here make
