Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 365. Welcome back to the show! I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I got no love for the fake news. If you wanna play tough and wanna hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I got no love for the fake news. If you wanna play tough and wanna hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. Hey, what's up? It's Jacqueline. Welcome back to the show. oh hi okay so yeah i don't know what's more so i don't know what's more dramatic uh right now in this current moment uh the state of the world and current events going on or
Starting point is 00:00:46 my personal life like this is such a let me get it right let me get it right tumultuous tumultuous tumultuous tumultuous time what's the definition of tumultuous word of the day to tumult I think it's tumult I had to look this up on a podcast before making a loud confused noise no that's not it uh tumultuous synonym thunderous thundering clamorous noisy uproarious it's not really what I was thinking that's the wrong word um boisterous turbulent time basically like yeah I've just okay I kept quiet last week I did a podcast and I'm gonna keep quiet about why I kept quiet okay um just you know life stuff right um last episode I brought you up to speed about our new house we just bought and I did a Q&A on
Starting point is 00:01:47 it so if you if you're curious if you're like interested in you know moving into our new house and all the things about this house go listen to last episode um yeah so this episode there's a lot going on i mean like kate middleton is missing i guess and there's like this ai generated photo that popped out um was it yesterday which is scary like and just wild and i can't believe they fucked that up so bad like it's so obvious like like I saw I saw the picture I didn't think anything of it and then like I saw it again I was like wait if you because people are like oh this is photoshopped or whatever and she like came out came out and said like oh you know I'm an amateur photographer photo editor and sometimes I I forget what the tweet was but um when you look at it for
Starting point is 00:02:42 a second time it looks like I'm starting to I'm starting to be able to I am starting to I am now able to my eyes are now uh learning AI and like I'm I feel like I'm starting to get I can see through I can see through it now it's so like I don't know how to explain it it's like um yeah I'm starting to notice AI images versus real images I could have just said it like that but I didn't and okay anyways yeah like it's it's pretty odd it's almost like it's not obvious but it's obvious like I follow a lot of interior design accounts right now and I'll be like damn that bedroom's beautiful and then like the caption has something about AI in it like oh this is generated by and I'm like damn but if I go it's I need a double you have to double take because
Starting point is 00:03:32 then when you really look at it it's like what's the vibe of like an AI image it's like I think it's just like something's a little off like it's I don't know like almost like the expressions on Kate Middleton's kids look so I don't know like here's the thing I don't know like I saw obviously that it was photoshopped and I don't know if it was completely generated by AI but it kind of seems like it was like uh create a picture of Kate Middleton with her arms around her kids smiling you know it's like that's exactly like in the backyard on the porch or that's exactly what it looks like um yeah I don't really know how to put my finger out I think you know what I'm talking about it's like very um it's like super realistic but like something's off and
Starting point is 00:04:22 it's usually like obviously the fingers that give it away and um yeah so anyways that's happening the Oscars went down on Sunday we sprung forward uh we're in the future right now I don't know what to think about it honestly I love how light it is at night like that's the best it already feels like it feels like summer here in San Diego um but like the mornings now when we went to the gym this morning I was like oh my god it's so dark and can we just like keep it this way doesn't this just make it yeah because then in the fall it gets darker earlier so it's like why do we do this I know it has to do with like farming back in the day and isn't there some petition out right now to retract this so we don't keep doing daylight savings and are there some states that
Starting point is 00:05:13 don't do it or something like there's like places that don't do it anyways uh yeah there's a lot happening in the world I'm kind of like okay here's how here's the vibe of this episode I started off when I grabbed the mic by the way I'm sitting here in my new podcast studio this is going to be a major project like I'm so overwhelmed by this like there's so okay we're officially like unpacked you know and like organized or we're like 90% organized but my brain is so fried from it all I'm like trying to see the vision in here and like how I could position my cameras and my lighting and how I could set it all up but I don't know I'm like struggling and I'm like what what do I want you know how do I want to do it like what what kind of
Starting point is 00:06:06 what kind of like mood is it gonna be or like I talked about go to go listen to last week's episode I talked about my like decor taste or my decor what's like what's my interior design style what is it called what's it called what's your aesthetic I don't know um I feel like that word to use it's overused and it's used wrong um anyways yeah I'm just sitting here and when I grabbed the mic I was like uh I could talk about my trip to Mammoth because I I went skiing is it a couple weekends ago now this last weekend time is flying by it's crazy January January was long February was short we're already halfway through March fuck um I could talk about my skincare routine I'm on right now because of the wedding and like
Starting point is 00:07:00 how excited I am about it um and how if I well I okay I won't get into it like I for real want to stop picking my face like I for real I'm like wait a minute I'm gonna hate myself like I have such my skin like I take such good care of it for the most part like I'm pretty on it and then I'll make nothing out of something and then now it's a red scab and I just like put a hole in my face and it's just I'm like why it's definitely um it's a compulsive behavior thing as a result I don't know it's a literally like I saw once it's like oh if you pick your face it must mean you had childhood trauma and you're it was literally like people that pick their face had a had an alcoholic father growing up and I'm like
Starting point is 00:07:53 I did I did and I picked my face like how do they correlate that you know um or like a traumatic childhood like like picking your face as a result of like child as an adult is like as a result of childhood trauma I'm sure chewing your tea or oh my god this always happens um let me get back on the rails I grabbed the mic and I was like I could talk about mammoth and then I'm like damn I miss podcasting and I kind of just want to like explore the world and the drama of the world and just sit here and kind of like read the newspaper with you guys and see what's going on because I don't know I feel like I've been moving and um you know last weekend I painted our house and I put in a hedge um and I've just been kind of like in the my head's been in this home and it hasn't been out
Starting point is 00:08:50 and looking at the world um so yeah and there's like a lot going on let me just go go on like but should i do like my um oscars best dress recap uh but yeah this is how it's gonna be like very this is where it's gonna start to slow down i'm gonna open my google uh my chrome tabs and i'm just gonna fly okay might do some buzz buzzfeed quizzes might go on cnn and read some headlines and deep dive into like what trump and biden are doing um yeah whoa i just oh okay so i could update you like okay so i painted the house right and pretty much so something about cory is that like you know when people are like time is your most precious asset and like time is money you
Starting point is 00:09:53 know people say that but like he it's so like for him it's like if he if everything's getting hired out everything's getting hired out I don't have to lift a finger okay I don't have to screw in a screw I don't have to paint a wall I don't have to plant a tree I don't have to mow the lawn I don't have to pick a weed I don't have to plant a flower I don't have to install nothing okay it's like they're like the first day I showed up here when I came with the movers there's like 52 people around our house unpacking shit like doing stuff construction like getting the tvs installed like everything's just yeah so that's the vibe okay because Corey's busy we're busy we work we have a lot going on and we don't have time for I mean we could do it technically we could DIY this whole
Starting point is 00:10:41 bitch but like we're hiring it out but I realized I'm like um something that I miss doing because I grew up doing a lot of DIY stuff around my home where I was the one landscaping I was the one mowing the lawns and you know doing all the fix fixer-upper stuff around the house because like that's just what we did. And, um, I kind of miss it. Like I miss that labor of love around the home. And now that we have a home, I'm like, I want to get back to that a little bit. Cause it's, it's therapeutic for me. Like it's very, um, dude, I just said, we're going to like go read the news and like figure out what's going on in the world together. And like, you know, like read the newspaper together. And now I'm telling you about home ownership stuff,
Starting point is 00:11:26 but like just bear with me so uh did i didn't even ask you to subscribe like do it subscribe like comment should i just do the plug right now okay please hit that subscribe button wherever you're listening right now i'm on apple spotify google podcast stitcher breaker over overcast wherever you listen to podcasts please hit that subscribe button if you haven't already and leave a five-star review what was that noise and leave a five-star review uh helps me out helps people find out about the show go do that right now five stars it's your homework for this episode if you're here listening um and you're enjoying this so far even if you're not like are you a hate listener i i was just listening to the h3 podcast
Starting point is 00:12:10 literally my life is like working from home sitting on spreadsheets all day i could get into that because if i bitch about work will i get fired i feel like everyone at the office everyone currently at my company is probably thinking the same thing so so like i'm just going to be the voice of i'll just be like basically we're going through a very transitional tumultuous time tumultuous time and i want to rip my fucking head off every day so the h3 podcast is getting me through it and literally like I feel like my life is just like Ethan Klein and the gang and I'm just with them at all times you know hearing about if you don't know what I'm talking about it's then I feel like that's who I want to listen I want if you're an h3 podcast
Starting point is 00:13:08 listener like just I want those people here too like that's the crowd I want that's the those are those are my people I feel like if you know you know you know like if you're in it's just one of those podcasts it's just so comforting and like I just love it and they do such a great job with like the lore of it all and like the sound effects and um anyways but lately life has been like spreadsheets unpacking boxes like shopping for the house and just vegging out to the h3 podcast like hour I consumed so many hours that shit and I don't care um it's so I I just it really increased honestly the quality of my life has increased since I listened to each H3 podcast straight up and I don't know I just just really like it's like a warm and fuzzy feeling like when
Starting point is 00:13:59 I listen to it same with like Tom and Christina and Bert and Tom and like I have my whole like list of podcasts I listen to but um anyways how did we get here I don't remember oh I painted the house because I was like I want to do something I just want to like get my hands dirty and like you know like put in some work around this house instead of having a painter come like do it DIY it and it was like a six-hour project for such a small port so we have like this when we moved in there's like this they painted a portion of our house black because it's like the trendy thing to do now and I guess they did it because they're having troubles like in the past selling the house or something and they're like okay let's just paint it black because like
Starting point is 00:14:43 the millennials love that shit and I am a millennial and I don't like that at all it looks it just doesn't look we're trying to keep the character of the house and like the um it's a Spanish style home so it just like threw it off the vibe of the Spanish style so that was like the first thing i noticed at the place and honestly when i was on zillow this house and i've talked about it before on like the last couple episodes um this house was it wasn't on our radar like i i kept scrolling past like i kept seeing it but i feel like that black they painted in the front was like so off-putting i just like didn't like it so anyways um i had to do two coats of primer over the black then two coats of paint and there's a lot of like trim stuff to do and
Starting point is 00:15:32 it's stucco so like you really have to get in there and like get all the little creases and that was a big big job but um I had the h3 podcast in my ear the whole fucking time I think I had I had like h3 Tom and Christina and then like half of the Tim Dillon episode the latest one which had me he always has me fucked up like I'm always laughing like an idiot like it's just I just love podcasting I love podcast hosts I love podcasters I just I'm such I'm so like yeah I just love it I fucking love it and I'm happy to be a part of that um yeah like industry I guess it's crazy so this is year four and um um, wild. And this episode was originally supposed to be the final episode of year one,
Starting point is 00:16:25 because if you don't know, I made it, I made a goal on September 4th, 2020 to podcast for 365 days in a row. I made it 300 days. Is that what I did or 200? No, I made it 300 days. That's right. I made it 300 days seven days a week okay it was a wild time and uh yeah and anyway so I was I didn't make it to 365 so now here we are episode 365 finally uh on year four because it's a weekly podcast now so anyways I yeah I painted the house I planted a hedge and here's my tip okay whenever you drive so if you're like a homeowner. What am I telling? Who, who is this for? If you own a house or if you want to someday, or if you're currently living in a house, what am I? Oh my God. Like,
Starting point is 00:17:23 this is why I need to start podcasting seven days a week again. I can do it. I can do it. So here's my landscaping tip pro tip. And I, there, you can't, it's like, prove me wrong, right like you can't um say i'm there's no pushback you can't push back on this because it's just a fact so whenever you're driving around a neighborhood and like you're driving by houses and you're like damn damn that house looks nice it looks real classy you know like real sharp i'm gonna say nine times out of ten it's because they have japanese boxwood hedges lining that bitch like lining the place lining the driveway lining the flower beds lining the hole it's such a such a like easy way to elevate how your house looks from the outside like it's
Starting point is 00:18:18 or like the curb appeal even in the backyard even around the gardens like um I grew up my mom had us planning like we I remember we'd like come home from school and she's like all right get a shovel we'd fucking dig like 300 holes and plant boxwoods because she had our entire property like the whole entire place lined like the edges of everything had boxwood but if you know so if you don't know what I'm talking about they're the little hedges that are like shin height shin high and they're green and they're just like they're like a little bush like a little mini bush and I feel like you see them a lot in um like England and like Italy and France like I don't know it's like kind of a European I feel like a lot of the castles and shit have them um rose gardens are
Starting point is 00:19:13 usually lined with them and they just frame things out really nice and it just looks super classy so I was hell-bent this weekend on um planting a hedge a boxwood hedge and um yeah Cory helped me out it was funny he it's funny because you know he knows I grew up and like in the farm life and he didn't and so I'm just it's just so funny like I've learned we're learning so much about each other but like I immediately break ground with that I made him get like the biggest like the nicest biggest shovel because I knew I was gonna have to like you know heave my body over it and I think at first like he didn't understand what I wanted to do and he's like okay we need like a little hand shovel like for gardening and I'm like excuse you no I need a fucking
Starting point is 00:20:00 I need to fuck a backhoe basically so anyways I like immediately broke ground and he like like shivered like oh fuck we're like breaking up our lawn like you're because I had to cut into our grass and then I hit a pipe and then I had to like figure out like okay how do we want to go about this and he's just like oh fuck and I'm like that's the thing with landscaping is you have to commit you have to see the vision and commit lay out your bushes first to kind of see how it's gonna look you know get it all how you want it then just start digging you're not gonna fuck it up it's just it's lushness it's greenery it's vegetation it's gonna look nice you know um so it probably took me an hour and a half and um yeah it was it was a fun weekend so anyways
Starting point is 00:20:45 can we talk about let's talk about the world I got a text like eight months ago from my brother he's like I like when you talk about current events and then I like then I hear people tell me I like when you talk about your life and you know your stories about what's going on in your life and not current events but I also like didn't tell you about Mammoth like I started out wanting to do um I mean I'll just recap real quick I guess so Mammoth if you're not familiar is a ski uh resort in California it's like a six and a half hour drive north from San Diego and it's my favorite mountain in California like I just i love mammoth like it makes me so happy to be there and last year they had a shit ton of snow
Starting point is 00:21:42 it was like i don't know like went above the chairlifts it was so bad and the day we planned on going because we were trying to like we did we book our airbnb yeah we like booked our airbnb and got our tickets and because i don't have the icon pass or anything and anyways the roads got shut down and so we had to cancel our trip and they credited us for this season and anyways we used we used them okay wow so anyways we went on it was like the first weekend of March and I saw that a storm was coming okay this was like the blizzard they talked about right and I knew I knew it was up however we are smart people like I was like we're gonna I I don't care like I'm just like, I just want to be there. I don't care. I'm going to make, I'm going to make the
Starting point is 00:22:36 most of whatever happens. Corey was in this with me too. He's like, look, if we get snowed in and it's a blizzard and it's crazy, like we'll have a really cozy Airbnb. We have a shit ton of food we brought and like the dogs and it'll be fun. So, um, we skied on Friday. Was it Friday? what day was it we basically like had like a 9 a.m to 2 p.m ski day and then the next day it was basically all shut down um and that's when we had a little stir crazy in the Airbnb but um it got dumped on and like really bad on the first and second night we were there and then i don't know like what is this recap like we it was so much snow on the day we had to leave so we had to leave sunday and we woke up and our driveway was like four feet of snow i was like
Starting point is 00:23:29 fuck but they had like snow plows you know they were like taking care of the place and um we like woke up at 7 30 i want to say and just we started digging we dug the car out and yeah we dug the car out and then there was a snowplow driver like working a different parking lot across the way at different airbnbs or condos or i'm not sure what they were but he was like hired to work on that and and we asked him we're like hey can you do you know our driveway and this little section so we can get out because we want to leave today and he's like you know i'm not you know i'm not supposed to do it and i just pulled out a hundo and i was like hey here you go and he's like all right cool so he plowed out our our driveway and uh am i still recording
Starting point is 00:24:19 hi okay yeah hi um and yeah it was kind of uh sketchy i mean cory's got a range rover so it's like the best car for the best suv for the snow i mean like that thing makes you feel so safe and it like is so like I don't know what it does like I don't understand cars but like the way it shifts or whatever like it's just so solid so we had no trouble getting out of there and then the issue was the 203 hadn't opened yet and the 395 you don't know those are like the highways to get out of Mammoth and we had to like wait a little bit we went to Vons we met some other people from San Diego who like came in and like didn't get to ski at all and like they totally fucked up like they totally timed everything wrong and just one of those things where if you
Starting point is 00:25:05 plan like if you plan a trip and like you have this weekend set up with an Airbnb and like your rentals or whatever you know you're doing if it's all locked in it's just it's shitty to have to cancel it until like but I don't know we had a fun experience it was a good time we got out of there and um I don't know like Corey and I are just doers like I just it's such a good it was like such a good thing to go through together because it was hard it was cold it was it wasn't even that bad you know that's what's crazy is we had zero breakdowns we had zero breakdown like we woke up we saw all the snow we're like okay we have to leave today we're gonna start shoveling it and we just got to work like um honestly though like thank god our airbnb had a bunch of snow shovels
Starting point is 00:25:49 and stuff because um yeah anyway so that was mammoth it was a great time we want to go more often and like make it a thing because we both love to ski and we just like don't that's the thing like life life gets busy and you have to like plan trips you have to like plan on you know getting out and breaking things up so um what are we like 30 minutes in breaking news cnn.com cool let's see boeing is in big trouble cool passenger on boeing flight that drops as pilot told him he lost control after instrument failure prices ticked higher in february but there's good news at the grocery store
Starting point is 00:26:40 uh what do i want to read about biden trump kate middleton the oscars best red carpet looks at the oscars vanessa hudgens announced her pregnancy that was cool she looked great um um how an airplane toilet works at 40 000 feet the extraordinary science behind behind everyday flying dude taking a shit during turbulence is the closest I'll ever feel to dying I I'm kidding that's so fucked like I don't shit on planes actually like I have like it's that's tacky is that tacky whatever um multiple Taco Bell locations in Oakland have closed uh because of crime concerns okay cool
Starting point is 00:27:39 yeah it's crazy I was um I was driving around San Diego and like reflecting because it's is this my sixth year I moved here in 2018 May 31st like June 1st yeah and the homeless situation has just like doubled maybe I'd say almost like tripled I'd say tripled like it's like what the like just in places you never think you're like damn there's a full-on like tent city here um but yeah it's um it's just it's just it's just like how does what the fuck is going on like it's just sad and it's just it's not fun to i mean it's like come on like clean we gotta clean our shit up i don't know what we're gonna do with them but and like i have the biggest heart when it comes to homeless people like i just
Starting point is 00:28:41 i know some people do it by choice and i know like it's one of those things like how can you say that but i just put myself in there she was like sleeping on the hard pavement every night and like, oh man, I was at Rubio's and they were just like smoking crack out the window. And I'm like, I don't know. We got to, I just, in my lifetime, I don't think, well, I don't know. Here's my, here's my current opinion about the world around me. Like I've said this so many times, but I'm just like, I don't want to lose hope. I always will maintain, I will always be hopeful hopeful and optimistic like at my core like that's just me like I I know like I have to maintain that I don't I'm never gonna be like fully fully like we're doomed and
Starting point is 00:29:29 there's no hope because that's when if everyone gets like that that's when we're really fucked but I'm just like I think I'm just kind of like looking the other way a little bit like I just it's too much like that's the thing the older I get the less I care like it's like one of those like you just stop giving a fuck about stuff and then it's just stuff that's like not in your lane you know that's not it just you stop and I just realized like I'm not gonna me alone I'm not gonna change the world I can't change all the world's problems um I think it's interesting to like hear about what's going on and you know it's it's educational it's interesting it's eye-opening it's good i
Starting point is 00:30:20 feel like as a citizen of the world you gotta like know you gotta have a pulse on what's going on that's why i'm on cnn.com right now like reading about um taco bell closing closing down in oakland um but i don't obsess over i think when i was younger i was a little more like I got a rise out of it you know out of the news a lot more and I was like way more opinionated on here and I would like this is me just a few years ago like when I started um I think I covered like election night or like I covered everything um news-wise but now I'm just like I gotta I gotta buy toilet paper for the house and i gotta like get the dogs fed and um i don't know but i'm like okay should i talk about like how shop or furniture shopping and stuff and like how
Starting point is 00:31:16 i just i'm like constantly just scrolling on oh shit oh shit i don't know if you can hear that sometimes when i play a youtube video like i hear it in my headphones but i don't think you can hear um yeah I'm just like scrolling on Wayfair and like whatever other websites like Westone and just scrolling and saving stuff scrolling and saving stuff saving stuff and then I don't pick and then I'm like I didn't get anywhere today but like I kind of got somewhere because I did a little research and found stuff that I like and then um we still have to do I mean there's a lot of gaps we have to fill in but we have the basics um so what like trends are going on right now um i don't know like do i want to do i don't care like we're reading the newspaper this is like
Starting point is 00:32:10 is this a throwaway whatever episode no it's not because um i just missed i missed this starbucks opens first u.s sign language location that's cool should i just tell you about my skincare routine oh my god like dude just clip that Just like press pause, write down a few topics you want to hit and then keep it moving. Do I have anything written down on my notes app? Because I do take notes.
Starting point is 00:32:56 I do take notes. Oh, shit. Fuck me. This episode was going to be called Risa Tisa gave me my attention span back. That's what I forgot to tell you guys about or recap. That happened. literally that woman single-handedly fixed our attention spans like her her series who the fuck did i marry who tf did i marry if you're not familiar go on tiktok and type in who tf who the
Starting point is 00:33:31 fuck did i marry i mean that that was such a treat that was such a treat you know i'm sorry that she had to go through all that and you know that's awful because she she basically told was it a 52 part 10 minute 10 minute 52 part uh story time about her pathological lying ex-husband and she basically she starts from when they met when they dated you know and when they got married and when they got divorced first and the now and what's going on and I mean I didn't miss a second do the math by 52 episodes times 10 minutes how many hours is that how many that is insane how long should I be is that like mental math oh no shit I'm really exposing myself and I don't
Starting point is 00:34:32 care the thing is is I don't pretend oh I was just saying this to Corey because I was I was kind of popping off about work should i just tell you what's up with that because like without like getting into detail i'll kind of tell you what's up after i do this recent tisa segment and fuck sienna knockoff fuck the news i don't care like about boeing and like whatever happens and a talk about and i just like what was that like i just i didn't come prepared but like i was telling corey i'm like i do not care about looking stupid and asking stupid questions and being like I don't know I don't get it like I don't care how dumb I look I'll be the first one to be like I don't what can you explain that again please repeat yourself or speak to me
Starting point is 00:35:16 I literally sometimes I said this to my boss and I think she was talking on the zoom while I was oh my god am I getting fired for talking about this but like I was so confused by this project we're doing I was like I think she was talking and I said this out loud I was like can you I said I know something like you know can you re-explain this like as if I'm five years old I just don't give a fuck because sometimes that's what it takes and that's like any so if you're like building a business if you're building a product or or creating a product or selling a service whatever you're doing if you can't explain it if a five-year-old can't understand it like it's not uh marketable i feel like it has to be that dumbed down and that under easy to understand
Starting point is 00:36:08 um i don't feel like i think that's just a fact like that's how simple it should be to explain and um anyways what was i saying about risa tisa oh mental math because oh i'm not trying to pretend i under i know how many uh hours this is off the top of my head oh my god dude it's 520 hours wait 10 minutes 10 minutes 10 minutes times wait I feel like I have to do this like times divided by oh my god no I'm not do I just ask google how long this is really sad this is like did she graduate high school did she graduate the third grade I'm just gonna ask google risa t says series 52 part all told the series is almost eight hours long could i have done that if i did um yeah anyways so almost eight hours and hold on
Starting point is 00:37:16 holy shit so anyways um I was reading something so wait a minute what was I saying oh yeah Risa Tisi gave gave me my attention span back so anyway she did a 52 part TikTok memoir uh story time and if you don't know like I'm sure maybe some of you have listened to it but or watched it but it was just like the cadence too I was like she talked slower not only were these videos 10 minutes like just how she talked it was like slow it was thorough every detail she made every detail seem like it really mattered like you had to know every single thing about her story with her ex to like you you just knew like everything she said was going to matter at a
Starting point is 00:38:17 later date and she would even tell you like I'm telling you this now because this is going to come back later so just and something that's genius is that I saw um Coco Moco break this down because she does she's like uh the trend predicting like savant I don't know like she's like really on into like social media and like trends and what works with algorithms and what dozen and shout out cocomoco i like your content um she was basically saying like people had to people couldn't clip the 10 minute um videos they had to go to her profile and watch like the whole thing something like that so it forced people to go to her profile i mean she gained like millions of followers i don't know how many but something like that and you had to like watch every single
Starting point is 00:39:04 video in order to understand what was going on so i watched all what was that almost eight hours and it was crazy like she got got like she I mean I don't know I'll spoil it like whatever um just thinking off the top of my head like it was so insane to the point where like he would pretend like he was talking to people on the phone like and the worst part for me because we just bought a house is that he took her to her pathological lying ex-husband psychopath husband took her to um like showings and like got her all excited about houses and you know closing on how like i feel like he was like signing fake documents or like saying that he signed the papers to get the house and like that
Starting point is 00:40:01 never really happened and something would fall through and like there was she said there was always something some excuse so oh same with cars like getting her all excited about an Audi or like a BMW and then like getting her a Nissan or something like um because he had no money like he couldn't afford it was just like all a spoof so she went through the entire relationship like getting her hopes up and getting let down and then like just yeah it's wild but she fully like i haven't paid attention to something that closely with my eyeballs on a screen in years like i don't think i think the last time i was that locked into something was like watching the lord of the rings series in a row like just you know i'm trying to think of a long series yeah or like
Starting point is 00:40:46 if i did like a harry potter harry potter marathon um like where i didn't check my phone i don't even know how long ago was that was i phone addicted that i was i mean when did the phone addiction start anyways um yeah I was gripping it was like fuck you know like you couldn't look away you're just like every video you're like I gotta know what comes next you gotta go gotta know what comes next and then you're on like episode 25 and you're like I'm halfway and then um yeah the ending's wild just everything about it's wild and um did I have an experience similar to hers I can um
Starting point is 00:41:28 did I have a pathological lying ex I wouldn't say her situation reminded me of a situation I was in once where the person was like psychotic but in a different way I don't know how to explain it like they're they weren't like I wouldn't say they were lying they were just uh what's the word um shifty it's just like sketchy a little bit and like you kind of didn't like there was like a lot going on that you didn't really know about if that makes sense so yeah highly recommend Risa Tisa go search who the fuck did I marry on TikTok um I think she's on the news and um she'll find find her king i mean i think she's single but now that she's popped off i'm sure
Starting point is 00:42:30 there's a lot of people throwing their dick at her oh my god i'm just so tacky today oh yeah and like we started watching love is blind right is it called love is blind i didn't finish it but i know there's like a lot of drama like stupid stuff that happened and uh we kind of got to the part I literally watched it up to the point where the girl said she looked like Megan Fox like I didn't see that episode and I didn't watch any of the other ones but I know that like the season finale happened who got like let me just look it up love is blind oh and then I was gonna tell you about my project that I want to shoot myself for um here I'm just looking at the headlines love is blind. Brittany and Kenneth reunite in TikTok video. I don't know who that is. Chelsea Blackwell
Starting point is 00:43:26 says everything was guiding her to pick Jimmy. Huh. Wasn't she with that blonde haired dude that look like uh what's his face Kaepernick McCaffrey which tracks like that Christian McCaffrey kind of looks like him cool uh speaking of football what the fuck's going on with Russell Wilson I'm just like is he going to the Raiders is he going to the Steelers is he it's a there's like a lot of what's it called trading or like recruiting in the NFL right now it's like happening this week a lot um a lot of like breaking news and football headlines so anyways let me just talk about working being a corporate chick and doing spreadsheet stuff
Starting point is 00:44:26 because like that's what we're really all we're all really if you're if you're not doing that what are you doing are you a barista are you an assistant are you I feel like okay in my entire I feel like in my entire career working yeah 100 every job I've had I've worked at worked at startup companies where it's a little more like creative free flowing a little more like free to be you and kind of do what you want and like make up your own stuff so I've done that and I've done like corporate, right? We're all, we're all using Excel. Everyone's on it. Okay. If you're not on Excel, what the fuck? No. I'm like, where are you and what programs are you using? And is AI just doing it for you? Cause literally I'm staring at this project and I'm sitting here
Starting point is 00:45:12 going, Hey, I could have done this in literally three seconds. And I have 800 entries to get through by Wednesday. I actually got an extension to Thursday and, um, literally here's kind of the vibe of this thing so I'm not gonna get specific but is this gonna can this get me fired I don't know I feel like this is uh I don't do people get fired for talking about their job on their podcast but like you're not talking about I'm not being I'm gonna be vague I'm not gonna be specific obviously so there's no I'm not just closing any names or like specific topics that this is about I'm just saying like the gist of like how this feels as an employee and like what's going on so um last month was very tumultuous I'm never gonna say it right tumultuous and
Starting point is 00:46:05 is this a one take episode oh my god are we still recording yeah I think it is because we're still red yep we're red we're in the red um that's gonna be on my first merch drop am I am I recording I crossed my chest so last last month was a little it was very like people getting fired new people coming in um here let me just spell this out so I've been at this company for a couple years and has it been two years yet a year and a half um a little over a year and a half so I'm pretty I'm still like new-ish and basically all of my kpis got pulled from underneath me last month or like officially like
Starting point is 00:46:55 this month um starting on the six i want to say like everything i was trained on everything that i do every day was like put to a complete stop because now we have to do these data mining type projects analysis type projects where we have to find a lot of information okay you get the gist so everything I've ever known and everything like you basically go like go to work every day you know what you're doing you know what you're getting into and you're like trained on how to do it okay and then one day they're like none of that matters so like all your emails you have all the correspondence you have with people like all the meetings you might have I don't I don't have any lined up at the time so that actually worked out for me but like
Starting point is 00:47:38 all that shit like your communication i'm in if you don't know i'm in um can i say what i do for yeah i'm in media relations so it's all about like relationships cultivating relationships and meeting with people and talking to people and not it's like you got to be in contact with people okay email zoom like calls calls calls meetings you know that's the vibe okay and now that went to zero all hands on deck doing this project because I think it's like for a Q1 report something like that anyways literally the vibe is this like I'm seeing email threads about project details and I'm just like I'm looking at spreadsheets and the name of the spreadsheets are very like random and confusing I don't even know what they mean like I just see like
Starting point is 00:48:28 abbreviations and you know like numbers and it's just like very messy and I'm like okay and then I see like I got a email on Friday okay this is due next Wednesday and then I see my portion of the project that I'm responsible for 800 excel entries and this project is very like you gotta hunt and peck and find you can't just like press a button and go and it's like research this is research intense heavy research and now I'm literally on our call yesterday going over the project because there's always calls this is the thing about corporate is like there's meetings about not meetings about meetings that does happen though like meetings about the project that cut into the time you can work on the project and so it's just like
Starting point is 00:49:14 yes you get clarity during those meetings on the project but then it just it's so like it's like we just cut to the chase and get to it you know and anyways yesterday i was so like after 30 minutes of because what happened was we went right into explaining details we're on basically we're taking one spreadsheet and we're cross referencing the information to the other spreadsheet and like googling something and then referring back to a database and then like comparing and cross it's such a clusterfuck to do for 800 okay 800 right for one one little excel square requires like so many steps okay i have to do that 800 times do you understand what i'm saying and i was so confused after 30 minutes i'm just like listening i'm letting my co-workers like ask questions i'm
Starting point is 00:50:06 kind of like seeing gauging where they're at and i could tell like no one understands what the fuck is going on like they have a general gist of it and I was just like I gotta be honest I don't get it I was like this makes zero sense to me I think I said I have a five percent understanding of what you just explained and then I said can I explain it back how I see it to like clear things up because I feel like that's where the that's where like the disconnect happens it's like someone has a way of explaining something like a boss or a manager whatever and then it makes the way they explain it makes no sense to you and so then you're like okay but I see it in my brain a different way and so if I re-explain it how I think about it and it's still if both
Starting point is 00:50:51 two are basically the same thing the two ways of explaining it then I think we're good that's kind of what happened um but again I'm like yeah I could have done this in three seconds and it's like there's I feel like when they put you on a time crunch you're not gonna the quality of the work is not gonna it's not gonna be there like you want to do the best job you can but you can't like double check is you have to get it done like so anyways it's just it's a bit crazy right now and I want to rip my hair out but it's a job it's a job every part of a job has this element where there's months there's weeks where it's like hell and you're just like fuck my life and um but I it's a trade-off like you work remote you're not you can't like go across the hallway and be
Starting point is 00:51:35 like hey I don't get it can you explain this to me and like sit here and walk me through it you know we do share we share our screens and we're on zoom and um it's one of those things but like it's such a what the fuck am I doing kind of project I'm like this makes no sense to me like it and I was like wait did I just like crack a code so like yesterday I was working on I'm like why am I coming up with the same answer for every single cell every single like every single time I do the research on the specific data point and find whatever I find I'm coming across the same thing every single time and I'm like so the answer is yes for all of them you know what I mean like oh so this is just a pattern and I'm like
Starting point is 00:52:22 if I didn't catch that and I was sitting on each one one at a time I mean this could take me like weeks so yeah it's a it's a little it's it's tough when you're like yeah again you you're hired to do a thing and then it comes to a standstill and now you're being you're completely in a different role overnight and you're like not really trained on what you're you're so like on your own with it and you can ask as many questions the thing is is like I'll ask all the questions I want but like I still don't understand this is what I don't understand I don't understand when you work in the corporate world and you're kind of on like the bottom of the totem pole like I need to see the big picture like how does this connect where does
Starting point is 00:53:05 this go what is this for what are we trying to accomplish what is like that is so important as an employee I feel like I don't care how low on the totem pole you are like that shit matters because then you feel like I know why I'm doing this a lot of the times I'll just do tasks like I'll just be assigned something to do I'll do a task and I'm like why like where does this how does this help what's this for how does this connect like you're just like shooting it out into the ether and you're like okay I did my job like I did it right and I turned it in like but um it's a trade-off I don't think I've talked about it but I came out of the startup world and I was like I need something more stable I need something more structured I need something
Starting point is 00:53:46 more like every day I know what I'm gonna get and that's what I signed up for and I'm actually like very it's not even that like honestly it's not a I'm not like complaining it sounds like I'm complaining I am a little bit okay I am but I think with like jobs and stuff there's things you have to unfortunately I don't think okay literally because of this podcast I'm not gonna I mean I can't I was gonna say like off myself that's too fucking dark and I've been saying a lot of dark things lately and I don't know why um like I made a joke with Corey last night that was like such a bad joke about like that might be the last time you ever I can't say it it was like death related I don't know where this is coming from but um maybe it's because the spreadsheet's
Starting point is 00:54:31 making me want to kill myself I should not you can't even say that now um but there's trade-offs right like you can't you it's not it's not always going to be sunshine and rainbows and an element of everything it doesn't matter how passionate you are about your job or your whatever you're working on like there's an element of it that's going to be redundant and work it's going to feel like work and it might suck and even with this podcast like this podcast putting out an episode every week like you know promoting it and doing all that like that's a hustle and um you know it's work it's not like it comes honestly doesn't come naturally naturally to me because I would be sitting at the top of the charts by now if that fucking was the case and you know clearly like
Starting point is 00:55:19 you know um we're not even on uh top top anything that's a thing it's just everything's it's just work you gotta um and that's the thing I feel i feel like who said it best was logan or jake oh my god that's happening what the mike tyson jake paul that's happening um anyways one of the paul brothers one time was like hard hard work beats talent i think it was logan that said that probably on like impulsive or something some one of them said that and it stuck with me because it's so true like you could be the most talented person in the room but if you don't work hard like that's gonna catch up with you like if you're getting by off your talent and you're just kind of grazing coasting on riding
Starting point is 00:56:15 on that especially in social media I feel like especially with content creation like you have you have to work your fucking ass off if you want it and those are the people that you see on your screen every day those are the people that are um you know having careers in this right now because they're just working um it's it's a 24-7 hustle I mean it's a the cameras never shut off the microphones never turn off like it's just a constant um especially with posting it's like all about posting and you know so that's obviously been a huge struggle of mine but again this is my 30-year plan I don't give a fuck I'm like I love podcasting I'm not going anywhere and you know we're working on things we're uh it's things are in the works we're uh but yeah
Starting point is 00:57:03 anyways yeah Mike Tyson Jake Paul when's that happening Mike Tyson I watched this sparring video of Mike Tyson he's gonna he's gonna get killed he's so aggressive like Mike Tyson like in the video I think he was wearing like blue whitey tighties like I don't know they were like blue boxers or something i forget like blue shorts he was fucking the guy it was so aggressive like like a machine i was like i mean i hope it's a piece of me is like this shit's rigged but oh it's on saturday july 20th at at&t stadium where's at&t yet is that in uh vegas exclusively on Netflix which is crazy 1810 stadium in Arlington Texas
Starting point is 00:57:56 home of the Cowboys cool so this is what this is Jake Paul's quote it's crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson's undercard now less than four years later i'm stepping up to face mike tyson myself to see if it's just to see what it takes to beat one of boxing's most notorious fighters and biggest icons which says jake paul within just two and a half years of founding mvp we're about to produce the biggest fight in history a fight in the biggest nfl stadium in the u.s broadcast live he's just he's like willie willie wonka i
Starting point is 00:58:40 don't know how to explain it like he's just i love seeing people like just make shit happen and just make it amazing like it can't be rigged it can be rigged is it rigged how does this i don't know how it works all i know is that that uh the jake i'm gonna say not logan i think jake revived this like he did it he revived this sport um you can tell you like cares about it a lot too which i feel like makes makes a huge impact um like he's pat he's got the passion for it and he cares he really cares about it so um and he's good at it like what the hell it's like crazy so yeah i don't know how it works but if he knocks mike tyson out i mean also like mike tyson's what 57 like
Starting point is 00:59:36 just watching that video though of mike tyson sparring like sparring i'm like how did how does he honestly like just kill jake like literally just kill him it's scary as fuck um should i talk about oh i didn't talk about my skincare routine i think we kind of covered what i wanted to cover like life update wise house wise um that i might want to go into like the i'll go on buzzfeed i'll do a quiz or something make it fun at the end okay so i'm a bit of a nerd nerd when it comes to skincare you wouldn't know it because i pick my face and sometimes if you see me I have like a big red scar or like a scab not scar that's gonna scar um which is unfortunate and I'm like turning 30 like what the fuck like get it together get it
Starting point is 01:00:38 together and um as you know I'm getting married in September and as one bride does uh I'm I'm like prioritizing my skincare and my just glow right because you want to glow on your wedding day and I will be regardless but like um anyways skincare so I'm a little bit of a nerd about it and I know like for me what I've learned just from like watching and listening to people and you know seeing what estheticians say out there dermatologists it's like less is more right and I think I've gotten it down to a very like no bullshit just simple routine so I'm doing so after the gym shower wash my face you know give it a good cleanse vitamin c okay wait no i do a toner i don't know if i should do both but like my skin
Starting point is 01:01:42 looks really glowy when i do this and i feel like it looks really good and it's not irritated because i know you're not supposed to like stack too many actives or just do one at a time but i do the what is it called the polish choice is it the bha exfoliant or the aha exfoliant that gray bottle i've i drink i drink that like i literally i buy that that is a holy grail So I do like a BHA or an AHA toner. Um, I think it has salicylic acid in it too. So it's good for acne and just like texture. So I do that. And then I do vitamin C and then sunscreen. And then after that, so I layer the sunscreen has hyaluronic acid in it. So I, that just takes care of my hyaluronic acid. Otherwise, if I didn't have hyaluronic acid in my sunscreen,
Starting point is 01:02:33 i put on a separate hyaluronic acid i like the one from the inky list the sunscreen is from isntree isntree watery sun gel best sunscreen on the market it's from korea i trust the koreans with their skincare shit so um and then i kind of like let that soak a little bit and then i do a final layer of emberly's le creme whatever the fuck it's called it's literally the best cream the best like multi so the sunscreen all of that together is so moisturizing but the final layer of the ember lease emberless cream you can use like sicka plat sicko sicko plat from la roche posay i should really like enunciate this shit because i'm just like spewing off words um like you just like the cream i feel like is that extra barrier of moisture that's like basic
Starting point is 01:03:29 it doesn't have any like scent or doesn't do anything it's just like moisture and I feel like that makes your skin look so juicy it like locks everything in and I because I do that at night but like during the day I do it too and especially because I don't wear makeup like I unless I'm going somewhere I don't really put a lot of makeup on so um that's my morning routine and then um at nighttime skin medica is my bff so i do um a cleanse double cleanse tone with rose water i love rose water just basic i don't get anything fancy it's like literally just like rose water and then i do skin medica retinol and keels i do okay i do that ember lease cream i do the keels ultra repair or ultra moisture cream it's not like a night
Starting point is 01:04:26 cream but it's like a juicy like jelly thick cream i just like how it goes on in layers and then i kind of like let that soak and then i do the ember lease on top and then sometimes i do aquaphor and that's it sounds like a lot but like it's really vitamin c and sunscreen in the morning like that's the no the non-negotiable like vitamin c sunscreen and that's what i've learned like the prescription like most people recommend that like vitamin c in the day retinol at night and i i try to stick to things that i know are like proven to work there's like actual research and science behind it like literally the only things that have like proven research and like anti-aging benefits are sunscreen number one retinol number two and I think vitamin c there's like all this
Starting point is 01:05:20 all these other ingredients other ingredients niacinamide salicylic acid bha ha stuff um you know squalene algae grass I don't fucking know like hyaluronic acid like obviously there's so many benefits to all these other ingredients but the the best bang for your buck i feel like is vitamin c sunscreen retinol and you have to watch it with a retinol especially if you're using a higher percentage like i'm at a 1.0 with skin medica i started out at 0.5 and then if you really want to do like the heavy lifting on your skin i don't know how um like I haven't used it before I haven't I just need to go to my dermatologist and talk to her about it but um tretinoin I feel like is the goat if you want to like go a step above retinol
Starting point is 01:06:16 um just more I feel like it's more um intense and what else am I doing um yeah so that that's the skincare um jesus we're coming to a close and we don't know what we're saying i'm speaking to a therapist every week so that's happening and honestly i'm like i don't need it like i need it i feel like she it's crazy like i think it's good to have just to get things out you know what i do need i do need it I think everyone at this stage of my life with all these life transitions and things
Starting point is 01:07:03 happening and the lack of a father now and just like how that's turned out which I really haven't talked about publicly but essentially like you know I am getting married and I just bought a house and like someday I'll have kids and like I just currently don't have a relationship with my dad and it's really it's really weird I don't know how to explain it and I think what the therapist what she kind of painted for me she's like I think what you're going through is grief like you're grieving you're grieving this like that's the emotion you're feeling like that's how this feels to you and I'm like yeah exactly and I it kind of like made sense in my head and so yeah that's been an interesting like behind the scenes uh thing to go through because you have this
Starting point is 01:07:50 expectation or this whether you like it or not you have subconscious like expectations and beliefs around parents and siblings and friends and and significant others and how they should behave and so I think when when that doesn't line up and it falls off almost 100% it's like it's almost like a death it's almost like you're grieving a loss and it just will never be what you thought it was gonna be so um yeah I've had I've had some moments like some pretty little moments where I just feel really like alone and it's just because it's not alone like oh I don't have because I have a ton of people in my life and I have my family is like everything we're so like we talk like constantly we're all together except for my dad and that part is just like that's the part I feel
Starting point is 01:08:43 alone about so um but yeah shout out therapy it's it's good to just obviously have a third party uh talk to you and or listen to you and you don't and I don't like everything she says that's the thing like it's not comfortable like sitting there sometimes I'm like I'll kind of like disagree or like not really not disagree but just it's uncomfortable you have to like hear it from a from a like psychological or therapy perspective and it sometimes it's like damn I feel like you're siding with the other side right now and you're not taking my side and it's I just like don't like how that feels because you're giving them the benefit of the doubt when i think they're fucking um assholes so all right buzzfeed quiz and then we'll wrap it um
Starting point is 01:09:41 actually should i just wrap it now i feel like i'm reaching i'm reaching for a segment some content that doesn't need to be hammered out um what am i gonna do this weekend I have not been golfing it's it's hard like moving into a new house is like a lot um but we're so happy like every day we're just like I love it here it's so nice oh my god like my quality my quality of life has 10x simply because I can like go outside during the day and just like sit on my grass how sad is that like I lived in apartments for my whole 20s basically and it's just like concrete parking lots go outside on the sidewalk walk to a park and sit on the grass but it's not like your own place like you don't have that I just never had an
Starting point is 01:10:36 apartment with that kind of setup so just that alone is so amazing and also how we're not in a very busy at all we're not in a busy neighborhood neighborhood and so it's so quiet and peaceful and like i hear the birds every morning and i can just tell how happy the dogs are it's so great so yeah if you're curious about the house and what we're doing go listen to last week's last week's episode i did a q a episode 364 um it's a little sleepy here right now we're a little sleepy did i even tell you what i did today um we went to the gym I did an hour and 10 on the Stairmaster like a psychopath and this is the thing like I feel like honestly okay I don't know it's always like I I will always and forever sound like a
Starting point is 01:11:31 full of shit arrogant pick me pick me girl um just annoying cocky asshole when it comes to me talking about fitness stuff but like this is the thing because everyone's got a different setup i don't know whatever i was born with i'm just genetically blessed with certain things with fitness okay and with like building muscle and like cardio ability and my mom's always told me like ever since i was a kid because i would just go run like i would just go run like three miles just you know i'm like i'm i'm a kid doing it like i would just go on runs i've always had really crazy endurance like i'm unaffected by like running stairs basically and that's what i experienced this morning i'm like
Starting point is 01:12:18 i feel like i need to go do like crossfit or like something insane to like work on my vo2 max or i don't even want to i don't even need to work on it it's like i'm just curious like how far could this go because or i need to do like a marathon or like i need to do oh cory's calling because like literally i'm gonna answer this but literally i'm like on the stair master i'm doing i'm running stairs doing intervals and i'm just like bored i'm like oh this is like like it wasn't like hard enough i don't think i was going i don't know i thought i was going hard enough but i apparently wasn't here's cory hi you're on the podcast oh wait you're not on speaker oh wait you have a couple guys with you what are you gonna do yeah
Starting point is 01:13:05 I gotta do the garage measurements oh yeah see you soon okay like how much time uh 25 okay 20 minutes sounds good I love you bye see hiring it hiring it out getting the guys to come over and I think we're gonna do like because our garage is pretty like bare like it doesn't have any storage in it so we're gonna um uh we're gonna add some like shelving cabinets and all that kind of stuff so um all right well that's episode episode 365 uh i'll come with an itinerary next week i i've always i'm just i'm just such a broken record um should i pull something out of one of these books next to me let's do this 50 cent robert green book here this is one of my favorite books shout out 50 cent um the fearless approach every negative is a positive
Starting point is 01:14:11 the bad things that happen to me i somehow make them good that means you can't do anything to hurt me that's right doesn't matter how much adversity that man has faced he's always turned into something positive and come out stronger and that's how I feel like most kick-ass people that you look up to are and that's what I was saying I posted a video on my Instagram let's just end with this is this is kind of like the reflection segment like I posted a video let's just go to my Instagram most recent post about like turning 30 and not where you want to be not where and not being where you want to be at in life and um that a girl on TikTok I did like a stitch with it this girl on TikTok and I've seen a lot of TikToks like this she was basically like I'm turning 30
Starting point is 01:15:00 next week and I'm she was like really down about her life and how she's not where she wants to be at be at or she's not where she thought she would be at when she turns 30 and I basically came out with a video response saying like I'm having the opposite experience because I think I'm I'm experienced or I'm, yeah, I'm going, I'm getting what I want by the time I turn 30. Like all the things that I thought I'd do by the time I'm 30, I'm doing like, and I think that that's because I'm like getting married and I just bought a house. Okay. Like that, just those two things alone that if I could put on paper, like, or if I could have my younger self always said that, Oh, by the time I'm 30, I'll be married. I'll be at my house and I'll settle down and
Starting point is 01:15:42 have a family like literally that's happening and so and it's like flawless everything about it's so like perfect it's it's sick just listen to the video like it's it's and I even told said in the video I was like it's just it's kind of like a mind fuck and I just I know I deserve this but it's like sometimes life is really it can be too good to be true but it's really not too good to be true it's actually true it's real and it's actually great and you can feel that and it's okay to feel the high of that and not feel like you because I've I've struck I've honestly like and I talked to my therapist about this I'm like everything in my life is so nice and great and amazing and beautiful and loving and awesome and and I think because if you're a person that comes
Starting point is 01:16:30 from a very like crazy tumultuous childhood and background and where you're constantly in fight or flight and your adrenaline's pumping and you're in toxic relationships when you're older and you're dealing with crazy people and crying and screaming and fighting and yelling and surviving and just being down and out like when it's peace and quiet and calm and love and amazingness it's like a shock to the system almost which is so crazy but um anyways in that video I kind of reflected on like how did I get here and yeah just go listen to it Cause honestly, I think that, um, oh, this is from that 50 cent quote, the bad things that happened to me, I somehow make them good.
Starting point is 01:17:14 That means you can't do anything to hurt me. So I was saying in that video, like, I'm grateful for all the adversity and all the hard times I faced because my life hasn't been easy because I feel like it gave me this insane perspective where now I'm like just so like um grateful for little things and that and I feel like I'm a happier person now because of it and I don't um the adversity what does it do it forces you like you have to endure it you endure the adversity the hard times the abuse because I would say I'm a child of abuse like I just I don't really like say specifics but like I came from an abusive household growing up okay and into my and I've been in relationships that
Starting point is 01:18:15 that way so you endure it and then dirt so the outcome of my like what I went through so that it caused me to have a very low self-worth have very low self-worth and low self-esteem and and it stripped me in a way of my identity because I was just like surviving and I wasn't able to like grow and be who and like figure out who I am because I was always being squashed and and I was just always like beaten down and just like struggling you know mentally and I developed all kinds of psychological things disorders and eating disorders and just depression and all the bad things so so you endure that right like you go through all that and I think because I that happened I'm like grateful for it because it
Starting point is 01:19:12 threw me to a rock bottom all that shit did and if your life's always easy and you never have that it just you there's no journey there's no growing there's no crawling out and I know that sounds like it there's other it comes in a different form and I don't I can't I don't know I don't I've never experienced that so I can't relate I can't explain that what that kind of journey is when everything's great and you don't have and you never struggle and everything's up like and then it's a there's something different there and I don't I can't speak on that but crawling out of that hole or going through all that forces you into a hole or like basically throws you down into the shitter where you're like okay everything's fucked and I'm dying and I just
Starting point is 01:19:56 and I'm over it and then and then you have to then that's when the journey starts and that's when you start going okay I've maxed out of this I'm mentally exhausted I don't want to live like this anymore I don't want to be like this anymore you know I'm sick of hating myself I'm sick of blah blah whatever it is and then you work on yourself and then you grow out of it and I think because of that I had this like huge like rock bottom in 2020 and then I had like this wake-up call and I started podcasting and you know the story but um it accelerated I think it really accelerated my growth and so now I'm turning 30 and I've done all this work and I think it it like worked to my benefit in getting what I want by the time I turn 30 but it doesn't really
Starting point is 01:20:39 matter like it it really doesn't I honestly think a lot of it too is a crapshoot and I said that in that video like um falling in love and finding love you know like your best friend and that whole thing and getting married like that is I explained it's like a random thing like I have a lot of empathy for people who they're single and they're like in their 30s and they're like a woman they're like I want to have a family and what the fuck you know and it's not working out and I have a lot of empathy for that because that could have been me you know I could have met a guy after I broke up broke up with my ex and I could have dated someone and it didn't work out and dated another guy and stayed with him for a year and then shit hits the fan and boom I'm single living
Starting point is 01:21:15 alone at 30 that could have been me I understand the kind of randomness of it all like life is so random and I think some people get lucky and I feel like I got really I got lucky I know I'd put in the work and I earned it and I deserve it like I know that but a piece of it is luck there's got to be I don't think your God has a plan I guess this is my plan that he had for me and um but it feels good I think it feels good because I know how I think it's because I've done so much work I'm like I know I know I had to go through all those hard lessons and hard times I and I'm glad I did in a way because now I could kind of like kick my feet up and relax at 30 and be like and I know there's a lot more coming honey like you got life isn't that fucking easy
Starting point is 01:22:08 you don't get to chill okay after you do all the work I mean I'm still working on stuff I'm still I'm talking to a therapist now like every week like it never ends but um yeah go watch that video I just kind of felt called to post it because um yeah anyways like a podcast for another five hours I have to pee so bad um so anyways I I need curtains I need furniture I need side tables I need lamps I need guest bedroom furniture I need so much shit it's where my brain goes like at all times I'm just like but like we're just so like we just want to get it done and make it nice so we can enjoy it we don't want to have to fucking like take our sweet time and like it's like but the other thing I'm like why am I I'm like literally I'm like why am I buying
Starting point is 01:23:03 a curtain for the living room like I should be buying equipment for the studio like all I should be caring about right now is like making this podcast studio beautiful so um yeah I definitely want to make it like I don't know I've got like ideas but she's got to pull the trigger start going you know all right that's it thanks for hanging out thanks for being here uh go watch Teresa Tisa who the fuck did I marry series on TikTok go spend eight hours of your life uh go fix your attention span on TikTok literally that is what she did she fixed her attention spans I think I'm gonna title this episode that I don't know if that's like too old news now but um yeah or I should just title who title is who the fuck who tf am I marrying dun dun dun drama
Starting point is 01:23:59 or like that's so I don't know that's obviously like clickbaity um even though my like second to last episode what did i call it i think i titled it like um god i have so many good songs i'm on spotify i just love when i find like a really good song today i listened to this one it was like a nikki minaj the weekend song oh my god where's my podcast um there it is can i i'm gonna list off all the podcasts i listen to for fun oh yeah yeah my second to last episode's literally called like what's really going on dot dot i've been hiding something um one sec
Starting point is 01:24:57 oh yeah here let me just fire off all the podcasts i listen to okay the toast i'm a big toaster h3 the tim dylan show your mom's house two bears one cave burt cast giggly squad congratulations this past week i don't really listen to theo right now the pbd podcast sometimes we might be drunk hue room and lab tinfoil hat with sam tripoli shout out duncan trussell family are uh lex friedman are you garbage just trish taste of taylor flagrant and barely i barely listen to that anymore uh lifeline i sort of sometimes listen to going deep with chad but not really juicy scoop these are just the ones i have i don't i'm like in phases right now of different ones mostly h3 uh don't really listen to impulsive anymore absolutely not by uh is that
Starting point is 01:25:56 heather mcmahon monday morning good for you little fleckus talks sometimes little conservative uh shit talking little republican i like that shit uh vote for trump sofia with i literally ended one of my episodes like two episodes ago i was like love you thanks for being here vote for trump goodbye what's i just okay the debates are gonna be like i just that's that's gonna be my super bowl this year like i think that everyone's talking about that that's gonna be like the greatest moment in television history the trump versus biden debate the first one i i mean i don't know i why wouldn't it happen um whiskey ginger sofia with an f sometimes girls gotta eat don't really listen to that anymore um it's crazy to see all the podcasts
Starting point is 01:26:59 i have in here i think it posts it puts your like most listened to at the top i feel like at the toast in h3 the toast h3 your mom's house two bears one cave tim dillon congratulations those are all like non um i guess the toast is like news it's like news and you like hear about current events none of them are very like educational like huberman lab barely listen to it to be honest i used to see i've talked about it before this is gonna be a five-hour episode I've talked about it before like I used to when I was in my early 20s nerd out to all the business health self-help self-improvement Tim Tim Ferriss kind of like what other like health and wellness or there's like I don't know I'm like brain dead at this
Starting point is 01:27:59 point but yeah I like nerded out to all that kind of information and like I was like really like into it like morning routine oh yeah I was like morning routines and like journaling and like being a better person and reading books and like all this shit and I was like just only consuming that kind of stuff and now when I hear it I'm like annoyed I'm like I've heard it I get it like now I think it'd be it'd be important or smart to like listen to like AI news and like what's going on in that world because that's coming and we should all be prepared and I think it's good to educate yourself and I've talked about that on my past podcast like You'd be smart in this moment of your life to get an understanding of what's coming in
Starting point is 01:28:39 the, in the AI world, in the AI sphere. So, but yeah, now when I hear that kind of stuff, I'm just like, it's the tips, the tricks, the hacks, the lemon water, all that jazz. I just, it's so redundant to me at this point. and it's like annoying like what's crazy to me too oh my god is when I see the same people talking about the same thing they were talking about 10 years ago and I know there's new people coming on and like hearing it for the first time that's always it's always good to like educate on important information in terms of like health and wellness and self-improvement but like
Starting point is 01:29:19 it's just like I would be so bored of myself if I was constantly shilling the same kind of like stuff and like, I guess I do. I do repeat my tidbits of wisdom here about life and health. And, um, I get it. No, I like get it, but, um, I'm just, what's another ick for me or something like not ick, but like annoyance for me is, um, people that are really easily you can just tell they're so easily convinced they're so like so like quickly convinced about something and they're just like oh okay I'm gonna do that for the rest of my life like colostrum or fucking I don't know like cold plunging it's like it's the greatest thing ever I'm just I'm so into it because it's crazy like you see someone they're like vegan and then it's
Starting point is 01:30:13 like not in carnivore like they just like it's so I what is it dogmatic in their beliefs like so quickly or like they're so malleable and like you can like they're just so easily convinced they just like go with it like anyways i'm more obviously like i'm hard to to sway or not sweat like convince like i do what i like doing i'm i'm i'm an old dog i'm an old dog like i'm a i'm i'm set in my fucking ways in a lot of ways in a lot of areas and I think here's the thing in my experience having a backbone is a better life to live and like having and like being standing in your belief standing in your opinion standing in what you like and what you don't like and not being so like people pleasing and like oh like no if you don't
Starting point is 01:31:05 like something that's okay like you don't have to like what everything else what everyone else likes and you don't have to like follow all the trends that are happening on social media just to be relevant it's like stick to what you like do that I feel like a lot of people just kind of like blow in the wind and I used to be that that way especially when I was younger obviously because I was just more impressionable but you kind of like don't really know who you are I like saying like I like this I don't like that and I respect people more I feel like I look up and respect people more that are that way they're more like you know where they stand that you know what it's like it's kind of like badass you're like oh shit okay like there's no like i don't know
Starting point is 01:31:45 like whatever it's like no they're like fuck for me fuck matcha i don't drink matcha tea like i it tastes like horse hay and i only know that because i used to race horses and i used to throw them hay every morning and every time i see matcha or smell matcha i just i can't untaste that or whatever like i don't pretend to like matcha just because it's like trendy or like i feel like people are saying, oh, it's like healthy. Like, like it's so sad when I see, when I hear people talk about like trends in the sauna, like health and wellness trends, I'm like, yeah, should I, I won't get into the cycle syncing. Um, yeah. So there's like just a lot of snake oil out there. It's not cycle syncing isn't snake oil, but I just think some, some,
Starting point is 01:32:36 some of the ways people teach it and sell it and now it's like a you can get like a coach or something to like help you track your menstrual cycle every month like it's so like it kind of feels black like it seems they think of it in like very black and white terms like this is what happens during this phase and you have to eat this kind of food during this phase and work out this kind of way and it's like well what if I feel great when I'm apparently PMSing and I want to go hit a CrossFit workout and go fucking climb out Everest like I'm gonna do it like listen to your body I think that's the number one thing like just all that information is good to know and I've learned a lot in that world of tracking your cycle and wearing an aura ring because I wear an
Starting point is 01:33:20 aura ring now and I try I see my temperature every morning but like um it's like good to know but also be in tune with your body and what it's telling you because that's the best guide your own intuition. So we'll leave on, we'll end on that. Corey will be home any second. And I don't know, is this an embarrassing one for him to walk into? I don't fucking know. Like, I don't get embarrassed when he hears me podcasting, but like today I'm just like, it's just like, I just turned on the mic and I said, I miss this. And I just want to talk for five hours.
