Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 373. Welcome back to the show. I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I got no love for the fake news. If you want to play tough and want to hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I got no love for the fake news. If you want to play tough and want to hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. Hey, what's up? It's Jacqueline. Welcome back to the show. it's currently uh 4 25 p.m on may 31st it's friday may 31st happy end of may um i need this right now like i the way i need to sit down and record this podcast for my health
Starting point is 00:00:48 is insane like I was pulled like a vortex like pulled me to my microphone like 10 minutes ago I got off the phone with Corey's mom we were talking about wedding stuff and I was just like all stressed out and I'm I've been like this entire week has been a stress ball like a wedding planning stress ball week and I just want to talk to you honestly so um I hope you're doing well I hope you had a good May. What did you accomplish in May? What did I accomplish in May? I don't even know what I did an hour ago. Like my brain is so dead. I'm so fried. And that's the kind of episode you're getting right now. I don't really have a lot lined up. This is mostly going to be a check-in. So the last time we talked, I told you I went, I was going to Vegas
Starting point is 00:01:35 and I haven't recapped Vegas. I haven't recapped what's been happening in my life since then. like I think I took off last Friday just know that something happened in Vegas and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas so you'll never know but um I couldn't record last last week uh and or I chose not to and now we're moving forward and we are back on the cast episode 373 coming in hot let me take a look at my camera roll like if I was to do a May photo dump on Instagram first of all I need oh my god we went to a wedding wait we went to a wedding I went to Vegas planning the wedding um okay cool I'm just looking here I need to chill out on how many photos I take because I don't know about you and your iPhone but like I get I get like anxiety
Starting point is 00:02:31 about how many pictures I have on my camera roll and I know that's like a content creator thing you know you it's like part of the job it's part of what you do but like my dream is to have a cleaned out camera roll a hundred percent cleaned out where every single photo on my camera roll is like this is Instagram worthy I would be proud to post this this isn't this isn't some like this isn't like a 47th take of a of a selfie on a drunken night from five years ago in the bathroom at 2 a.m. that's like still hanging out on my phone it's like no this isn't like this is a good you know this is a good picture of me this is a good this is worth being on my camera roll like I don't know if anyone else has that I have a lot of things and I think
Starting point is 00:03:18 one of my things that's or something that I believe that is Jesus I probably should have gotten another beverage i have a diet coke on board and half drink drinking drinking half drank alani mimosa flavored alani uh energy drink in the fridge that i wish i grabbed with the diet coke to record this episode by the way cory's gonna be on his way home from work calling in and so cory's calling in today um i put the dogs out on the deck so they're not going to be bothering me during this episode, but, um, lost my train of thought. Where were we? Um, we're not doing any calls to action. You know, I was watching shout out her Mozzie. Like literally this guy is my Jesus, my content creator, Jesus, because he made so much sense. He's like, well, especially with
Starting point is 00:04:13 like short clips, like you'd never want to ask someone to like subscribe or like go to your website or do this or that. It's just like, it, you should, it should just speak for itself. Like if you're, if you're enjoying this, like you're going to do what you're going to do. You're they're going to subscribe. You're not, you're going to follow me. You're not. It's like, there's all, I don't know. It's kind of like, it does work. Calls to action do work. Um, people have been subscribing to my YouTube channel, which is amazing because that is my, I feel like my biggest dream right now for myself is to have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of YouTube subscribers someday. Like I see YouTube as like Everest as a content creator. And it's, I'm on
Starting point is 00:04:50 this Reddit called new YouTubers. And like, everyone talks about like those first thousand subscribers are like, like getting, like, I think 8% of YouTubers have more than a thousand subscribers. Like it's crazy how hard it is to get your first thousand. So anyways, that is, um, what was I talking about? Oh yeah. Corey's coming home. He's going to call in. Dogs are on the deck. I should have gotten an energy drink in addition to my diet Coke. and I lost my oh I'm not doing a call to action about do this do that do the other thing because like you know what to do hi you're a human being in 2024 with an iPhone and a cell phone addiction like you know how to subscribe and like and comment and review podcasts and all that shit so
Starting point is 00:05:32 do your thing I believe in you and I have confidence in you as a listener right now that you'll do the right thing um there is something to be something to be said and I've noticed this about myself because I understand how hard the grind of social media is and is this I don't want to do this right now this episode's not going to be about like content creation building or like fucking a but um I don't know if you do this but like certain people that I know are like on the up and up and I can tell they're like trying to grow their social media I like everything they do like I like every every picture every post like just because I'm like I know this is going to help them I want to take a quick break with you right now to talk about today's sponsor
Starting point is 00:06:13 Modere. Modere is an innovator in health and wellness and a leader in collagen. The company who found a way to help us all grow young. And it's not magic. It's science. They are the number one world-class award-winning brand here to help you look and feel your beautiful best from the inside out. They're committed to clean living and are changing the lives of millions every day. they are architects of a future where health isn't just a fad it's a revolution so i love modare because as you know i'm prepping for my wedding that's happening later this fall and i could use all the hair skin and nail prep that i can get so i've been taking their liquid biocell collagen it's a liquid form of collagen not the powdered form for the last month and it's
Starting point is 00:07:01 the first time i've ever taken a collagen supplement where i notice a visible difference in my skin. Of course, with other collagen supplements, like you notice your nails growing and that's the most obvious difference. And that's the same with the liquid biocell collagen from Modere. But the difference in my skin is undeniable. The hydration that I noticed, the plumpness, the glow from taking the Modere liquid biocell collagen is insane. And I'm never going to stop taking this stuff. Like putting a tablespoon of the liquid biocell collagen from Modere on a spoon every morning is one of my favorite parts of my wellness routine. And I cannot recommend Modere liquid biocell collagen and their products enough. They have an entire
Starting point is 00:07:47 line of skincare, home care, healthy weight and fitness care. They literally have all the products you would ever need to support your health and wellness. And my favorite thing about Modere is that they're clean. So I've been switching over to clean products in my home. As you know, we just, I'm not only prepping for my wedding, we also just moved into a new house and I'm all about non-toxic living. So I love Modere products for that reason. Starting point is 00:08:39 back to the show. The wedding we went to, it was a Jewish wedding and it was beautiful. And I've never been to one before. So I got to see how they do like the different, I think there's like seven different traditional elements in a Jewish wedding but um not gonna lie I was sitting there and I'm like damn like I was like wait a minute why does this feel why did I have anxiety in that crowd of people at this wedding like you know what I mean and I was just like wow this is like a crazy time to be alive and there's so much going on in the world right now like you know one thing about me is I used to talk about it. Like I used to talk in depth. If you go back to my old episodes, it was like during the 2020 election. Like I went hard about politics and world events
Starting point is 00:09:37 and war and crime and George, did I talk about George Floyd? No, that was before I started my podcast. And you knew all of my opinions, all of my thoughts. And I just, I don't know if this, this is my the new direction i'm going is i'm just basically not talking about any of it and it's not that i'm ignorant and i'm not informed and i'm not well the truth is like i i'm talking about like the whole what's going with the rafa thing that went down and um how everyone's been rep the new like black square thing is like that all eyes on rafa ai generated uh image thing that everyone's reposting and like anyways like there's just god that's a there's horrible shit going on in the world right now
Starting point is 00:10:27 i mean trump just got convicted as they're calling him an unconvinced a convicted felon and we're not gonna hear the end of that for the next four or five months or however long it is until the election that who would vote for why should people vote for a convicted felon you know, like that's, you know, so he was guilty on like 34 counts of, I don't know, paying off a porn star. So that's happening. Um, Timberwolves are out. Timberwolves are out. We've been watching the NBA finals. Um, my beloved Timberwolves are out. I jumped on that Anthony Edwards bandwagon very quickly and I I still have I I I get the hype but you know he's got a long way to go he's a young kid he's 22 his team's out he didn't you know they lost but they were like
Starting point is 00:11:19 the Mavs were up by like 36 points at one point last night and I was just like this is how does this happen you know but one thing I don't like this is gonna sound so racist dude nothing pisses me off more than Jokic and Donchik, Donchik, Donchik, Luca and Nicola or Nicola, whatever these European dudes that come into the NBA and dominate. I'm like, it doesn't make sense. First of all, like they don't have enough muscle definition for me where I'm like, you're great. Like Luca is, he's so good. Like he puts his team on his back every single game. He shoots these crazy threes. He makes all this, these crazy passes. Like he's so good. And I'm just like, but he's like fluffy and he's not even like black and i'm just like do you know like my brain is so
Starting point is 00:12:07 conditioned to like see a professional athlete and go oh yeah that makes sense like you're the best of what you do and you're also like you look the part you know with like especially being like more buff and jacked like i'm talking football players basketball players baseball like you know whatever you see fighters like they're in crazy shape and so when luca and fucking Jokic come into the NBA and dominate and it's like they're just dad bods like I don't know nothing wrong they honestly like that's so mean but like it's hard because like I say offensive stuff on here I'm like you guys are thinking it too so like I know I'm not alone in this but um yeah so anyways I didn't I didn't even know who he was Luka Doncic but um he's solid as
Starting point is 00:12:57 fuck and I am probably gonna root for because it's Celtics Mavs I love seeing Mark Cuban I love seeing Mark Cuban with a big smile on his face I'm gonna go I'm gonna root for the Mavs and I just watched the entire series and I saw that you know uh don't really know a lot about the Celtics or isn't there like some guy named tatum i don't know like i'm so like i have such a loose pulse on like sports uh it sounds like i know my shit sometimes like i'll be talking about like you know football or like basketball or whatever and i'll like cover a couple things it might sound like i know what i'm talking about like I literally have no idea like I have like super like I have like some basics down about
Starting point is 00:13:52 players and teams but that's about it so anyways the Mavs are out Trump's convicted 30 on 34 counts or fucking whatever um tragedy still strikes and has just gotten I've read some stats I think it's like the numbers are crazy how many deaths in Gaza it's like 30,000 since October 7th I don't want to look this up it's really it's really sad it's just like it's not even sad it's like sad it's like what's worse than sad it's almost like um it's like soul crushing like you just don't even know you're kind of just like I don't know. So yeah, that is, that's what's happening in the world right now. We're not going to talk about, we're talking about my, uh, Oh yeah. The Jewish wedding I went to. That's why
Starting point is 00:14:55 we got on this topic. Um, yeah, but for a second, like, damn, like anti-Semitism is so real right now, like in this current climate and like these people are all wearing yarmulkes, we're all at this beautiful wedding and it's like why does this why why did my brain go like oh like there are people out there they hate these people because of their because they're Jewish it's just so weird like it's so weird and I I was so happy and grateful to be there and to see you know my um it was Corey's I think his cousin yeah get married and I got to you know watch what they did and I was kind of like taking notes the whole time on like what I would do different or honestly there was like one thing that I thought about after that entire wedding where I was like
Starting point is 00:15:50 oh yeah like if because we're next like we're next in the family to get married we're getting married this fall and um yeah I was sitting there kind of going like oh I like this I like that I didn't like this I didn't like that and um yeah it was beautiful it was amazing it was out at a uh, home in Rancho Santa Fe, which is like this beautiful countryside, you know, neighborhood. I don't even know if you call it a neighborhood. What would you call it? It was like a Chateau in Italy, but you're in California. So yeah. Um, we went to that wedding. I, okay. So let me just tell you about my wedding planning week because here's what I decided. Okay. I'm looking back on my camera roll just to cover
Starting point is 00:16:40 like, okay, we did the wedding stuff, Vegas. We're not talking about because what happened to Vegas stays in Vegas. And what's what's before that? Just like normal life stuff. Okay, cool. that was my May got my hair done played some golf it was mother's day yeah okay so this week I looked at the date and I went holy shit I think we we hit our like four months till till our wedding date like okay the countdown is four months officially and I looked at the date and I go okay I'm currently unemployed I have nothing better to do than to plan my wedding and to work on my wedding so like I have nothing but time well I don't consider myself unemployed because my podcast is my
Starting point is 00:17:33 full-time job like let's be real but um and it's more work than having a nine-to-five which is crazy because like I've yeah I've told you guys on like a couple episodes ago I'm like I'm working more now doing my podcast full-time than I was working doing my podcast half podcasting half working a nine-to-five in the corporate world like it's crazy Um, there's just so much to do and like, it's crazy. So, um, but yeah, I looked at the date and I'm like, okay, so we're going into June. I'm very busy in June. I'm very busy in July and like we have plans, trips, all these things. And I'm like, okay, my goal started, I think this was on like, was Monday Memorial day? Yeah. Yeah. Memorial day. So I was like, okay, Tuesday,
Starting point is 00:18:22 all hands on deck I'm getting all the little details all the random homework I have to get done for the wedding done by Friday and these are all like I'll tell you about all the little things I was doing in a sec but because my idea was like okay I'll get all this done June 1st will hit it won't be hanging on my back anymore and I'll be able to like breathe and just enjoy our summer and not be stressed out too much before the wedding and there are some timely things that need to go out so um surprise surprise we don't send her we didn't send her invitations out a year in advance before our wedding. Like we sent or save the dates in January or weddings in September. So our wedding planner was like, okay, the new way is you send
Starting point is 00:19:07 your invitations like three or no, wait four months out. I think she said three to four months out like a lot closer to the wedding than you'd think so anyways I had to um button up our invitations button up our website our registry all this stuff is like done so now it's Friday I finished everything and um also like I think I said this last week I didn't I haven't booked a hair and makeup girl yet or team it's gonna be a team um so I thank god one of my friends is like I got you she sent me like a list of 25 different people in San Diego and I emailed all of them and I got like five people to tell me yes so I officially am good on the hair and makeup front I have to pick someone out of the five that said yes so I technically haven't booked it with anyone
Starting point is 00:20:08 But like that's done. Invitation websites registry done. Also, like I need outfits. I need shoes. I need jewelry. I need like all the little details, like the bridal suite, like what we're having, like is everyone going to match? Like what are they wearing? You know, like the little goodies, the gifts, the this, the that, the other, like all those little details. I've been trying to like finalize this week. So again, I don't have to like stress out and think about it last minute during the summer when I just want to be, my goal right now is to be, cause I'm like, look, I'm putting so much pressure on myself for this big day because I'm the bride and society, but no, um, I just, my vision for the next few months is like, I just want to be like super present and relaxed and just mentally just healthy and, and happy. And I just want to be like, so when I, when it's our wedding, like, I just really want to show up and be like zenned out. I don't know how to explain it. Like, is this because I went to hot yoga last night and
Starting point is 00:21:18 I'm just like, I'm going to be a yoga girl now. And I'm like prepping for my wedding and I'm going to do hot yoga. I'm taking a Pilates class on Monday. Like I'm, I'm, I'm doing that. Like that is my summer that is the vision for myself like calming down chilling out de-stressing taking good care of myself like breathing deeply massages facials like I am in my bridal era as they say and like I need to take that seriously because I don't want to be like cortisol face on my wedding day and like oh like this is not the time to fuck around and find out like I want to be I want to be in the driver's seat in control and be like okay we're doing this we're calming down we're chilling out we're doing the Pilates we're fucking toning down but you know okay I'm
Starting point is 00:22:05 gonna bring you in right now this is this is real life so like here you go I okay I have been consistently weightlifting for two years. So I've been hitting the gym and weightlifting like five days a week. Not maybe not that often, but like probably on average Monday through Friday, I'm in the gym and I'm doing some sort of lifting workout mixed in the cardio here and there. I don't do yoga. I don't do Pilates officially. I dabble at home on my mat. Like I'll mess around or I'll do like a stretching yoga day at the gym. But like for the most part, I'm like lifting the weights. So anyways, a month ago I decided I go, okay, we're so ever since this is like me being like real ever since March, February, I think, yeah, March 1st, I was like,
Starting point is 00:23:01 I'm doing this. I'm shredding for the wet. I'm going to like start walking more. I'm going to tone down the weightlifting. That was my goal. I'm like, like walking, I know is like the best way for me to just like tone up, slim down, whatever. So, and the truth is like, everyone looks at me and they're like, and I, and I look at myself and I know it's like, you don't need to lose weight. You don't need to do it. But it's like, I like having a goal and I like having a vision and a dream. And at the end of the day, at the end of the day, my wedding dress is a little tight. Okay. I don't like how my body looks in my wedding dress as is like, as, as I am now, Like there's just like, like the, you'll, you don't know what it looks like. I'm not even going
Starting point is 00:23:43 to allude to what it looks like because I want it to be a complete surprise, but there's like a couple of things where I'm like, okay, if I was just a little tighter there or whatever, I would be happier. So cool. If that's 10 pounds, if that's five pounds, I don't know what it is, but I just want to lean out. So back in March, I was like, I'm doing this. Guess what? Didn't do it. March, April. I'm doing this. Guess what? Didn't do it. May. I'm doing this. Guess what? didn't do it. It is now almost June. Okay. And Corey and I looked at each other and we're like four months to the wedding. Let's fucking go. No more pro yo nights, no more going out and saying fuck it and drinking and doing whatever. Like we're dialing it in. And what I told them is I
Starting point is 00:24:17 said, okay, let's just pick spots on the calendar where we, where we know we're going to go out and have a good time where we know it's my birthday. We're going to celebrate where we know. And that way we like can look forward to that. And we're not just like randomly on a Tuesday having margaritas and just you know five bags of or five baskets of corn chips and saying fuck it like do you know what I mean so um I this all started back in like March but anyways what I want to say what I want to say is that I pride myself in or don't pride myself but I put so much work into my glutes and my booty and my like ass and my legs and my lower half. Because, um, did I just say that about like myself? Did I just say booty? I'm puking in my mouth, like for myself right now.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Wait, no, that wasn't what I wanted to do. Okay, cool. Um, we're not really utilizing the sound bored today. If you can't tell. Um, anyways, I've worked so hard and long story short, I was like, I'm going to walk more now. I'm going to stop lifting heavy. I'm going to walk more now. And there were, there were, I would say most, most days of the week during like April, May, March, a little bit where I was walking almost 20,000 steps a day. Okay. I don't know what was it last week I come home from Vegas I come home from Vegas and first of all never changed for a man but I kind of noticed it but then when your man goes honey where'd your ass go or like and it's like hey to each their own if that would make you if
Starting point is 00:26:05 that would piss you off and make you go like, what the fuck? Who are you to comment on my body? It's like, it's my man. Like I, we are, we're not like that. We're like, cause I knew it. I was like, wait, it's like gone. It literally, it was half the size. I stopped lifting deflated. I was walking 20,000 steps and I lost it. I lost that bubble butt thing. And I'm like, fuck me. So then now I'm conflicted. Now I'm like, okay, I don't, you guys, I don't want to tell you about my wedding dress but like anyways I'm like I'm conflicted because I I it's summertime I want to look good in my bikini I want to have like a fat ass and all this shit and I'm like but I also want to get married and like look a certain way in my dress I'm like what do I do and I've been going
Starting point is 00:26:48 back to the glute workouts and I'm like well if I mix in Pilates and yoga then I'll be fine so like that's the journey I'm on right now I lost my ass it's not fun I don't look as good in my yoga pants as I used to anyways that's just like what's going on um it's like you can't win you know what I mean you're just like you want to um because I really don't want to like lose progress on what I've done everyone's like you look fine I don't know what you're talking about everyone's their worst critic everyone knows what they're what this is the thing because like I get so triggered and annoyed when like my mom or my sister for example or any of my friends are like talking about their bodies and being negative or they're being nitpicky and they're like oh I need
Starting point is 00:27:29 to do this or that I want to tone up five pounds or this is how women by the way like bond we bond over this shit it's like you will go your entire life talking to your friends about like body stuff and like diets and fitness stuff it's just like because it's our value our appearances are value and that is the way it is then your beauty is your currency and your fitness it's just like it's such do I want to say it's bullshit yeah because it kind of is at the end of the day but like, it's just the world we live in, I guess. I don't know. Um, but I get so like annoyed by it, but then I'm like, well, I do it to myself too. So like I get it and I relate to it. So yeah. Anyways, we all know what that's like to have like little goals and little things we're
Starting point is 00:28:09 trying to work on. And I'm currently like, I just don't want to look like I have a body at my wedding I want to look like a ballerina if that makes sense so four months to go I have never done a health journey thing on social media where I'm like this is my progress picture and like this is where I'm you know my before and after and here's what I'm eating every day and here's what I'm doing but like what a great time to do it before my wedding like come with me to shred for the wet day two and we're at the gym and then I'm making a protein smoothie and then I'm like you know. So, um, lots to talk about on that front in the future months until the wedding, I will, I'll probably, I feel like, I don't know if I'll post about it or just talk about it here, but,
Starting point is 00:28:59 um, I took a hot yoga class for the first time in six years last night, by the way, it was my six year anniversary in San Diego yesterday, which is kind of funny because before I moved to San Diego I was doing I was literally doing hot yoga like seven days a week back at my college town in Pullman Washington I was a Washington state kook if you didn't know that and like yeah from like February to the almost the end of May I was doing hot yoga so it's kind of this random thing where I'm or like this full circle thing where like yesterday marked six years and I was in a hot yoga studio for the first time in six years I don't know and it I felt great but guys i'm aging like
Starting point is 00:29:46 okay that was actually a good placement there see the thing is about the roadcaster pro 2 is like there's buttons but i almost need to put like little stickers on like what the sound effect is because they're all colors and i don't associate color in my head to like a sound effect you know what i mean so that was that was a total guess that was the perfect sound effect for that moment guys I'm aging I'm turning 30 in July and this is the thing like people are like I've never felt better when I was 30 or I've never felt this I haven't drank in like so I drink in Vegas I haven't drank in what has it been a week since almost two weeks has it been let's just say two weeks I feel the same as when I do drink like literally I'm like I wake up I'm groggy as shit
Starting point is 00:30:36 I slept eight hours. I ate healthy. I worked out like I I'm like, what's happening with my like, why am I like this? And well, this is this morning especially. And then I go, wait a minute, Jacqueline, you hit a heavy glute workout yesterday morning at like 6 a.m. and then decided to take a hot yoga class at 4 30 p.m the absolute dip of your day where your energy is like fully depleted and done and then no wonder you wake up feeling like this and I haven't had like literally today felt like I was hungover all day just from how exhausted and like sore my body was so uh we did this is the thing about me that's so sick this is so sick this is like I feel like this is the gene my mom gave me of like, this is my, this is my, uh, Goggins gene. Okay. Our alarm goes off at 5 15. Alexa set an alarm for 5 15 AM. Boom. Alarm set for 5 15 AM. Cool. Corey says that last night. Okay. I was pissed off because I wasn't pissed off, but he was
Starting point is 00:31:48 on his phone looking at like gym equipment to buy for our garage until like almost I think it was up to like 10 30 11 and I was so tired at 10 and I was like like I hate when I love like falling asleep like my dream was to like be asleep at 9 30 I feel like that that would give me like better sleep I don't know whatever but um alarm goes off at 5 15 Alexa off like does anyone do this like does anyone have an Alexa as their alarm and it's just like the way I talk to her it's just so like oh like Alexa off it's like you're like screaming at her or like when I'm playing music it's like Alexa like pop like whatever so it goes off we tell her Alexa off I'm probably setting off your Alexa right now if you have one sorry if this is on some sort of
Starting point is 00:32:44 speaker. Um, and did I turn on my lamp? See, the key is if I turn off my alarm, I have to, I'm going to get to the part where I'm sick and like, this is like not, this is where I'm like sick in the head. So yeah, I like, uh, I think, did I turn my lamp on? Whatever. We, we snoozed it. I think I turn my lamp on lamps on to like six, almost six 30. Okay. We slept through the next, what is that? 15 an hour. We slept another hour. No, we didn't. I think we woke up. I think it was like six 11. Okay. A little under an hour. We slept, we snoozed Alexa and then we like slept until like six 11. Okay. We're trying to, we're trying to be at the gym at six by the way. So that we already failed at that. And then we're sitting there and I, he's like, I'm like, do you have any meetings
Starting point is 00:33:43 earlier this morning? And he's like, kind of like, yeah, I think I have one at nine. And I'm like, okay. And then he's like, what do you want to do? And I'm like, you want to know what I really wanted to do? But what I didn't tell him is I woke up feeling hungover because I did hot yoga and a heavy lifting workout yesterday. And I felt like shit. and just so tired. I could have kept sleeping. I could have slept until like eight or nine. My body needed that, right? My body should have to recover, to be fully rested, to like, you know, be at peace and harmony in my body. I needed to not say what I said, but I told him I want to go to the gym. No, I want to go like, let's go. Let's go. Let's can we,
Starting point is 00:34:31 do you think we can get out of here in 10 minutes? I'm like telling him the opposite because my sickness is like, I work out when I'm sore. I work out when I shouldn't work out when I should be recovering. Well, I push myself because I'm, I feel like I have this thing in the back of my head where, and it happens so often where I don't know if this is relatable, but like sometimes when I choose peace and I choose a walk or no workout and just starting my day which is weird because I always work out in the morning so when I don't I have like no energy during the day I'm like off I'm in a funk like I need that early morning sweat just to like be you know productive and like have energy and so anyways we decided to get caught I finally caved because then we like
Starting point is 00:35:23 lay there and he's like, well, are we doing this or what? And I'm like, well, I really want to go to the gym. I was even in the bathroom, like kind of getting ready. He's like, no, it's fine. You go, you go. Like, I know you want to go. And I'm like, are you sure? And then I'm so tired as I'm saying this, I'm so tired. I'm exhausted. I'm like putting my hair in a ponytail. I'm like brushing my teeth. I'm like about to put on my gym clothes. And my body just said, no, I went to grab my i went to un i literally like this is crazy how like your body overrides your whatever like it shuts off your amygdala or whatever your executive functioning shit is it like i literally was like about to open my yoga pants drawer and then my arm and just proceeded to reach
Starting point is 00:36:10 up to my baggiest pair of sweatpants that I keep on top of my jean jean stack because they're the ones that I wear a lot just around the house but my like Adam Sandler pants and I just pulled those out and put them on okay I put on a sports bra before that way I did get so I started with a sports bra and then I went to get the yoga pants and then it was just like nope baggy sweats and then I think was Corey in the shower I forget but then I proceeded to grab the biggest sweatshirt I own and I literally was so exhausted I'm like it would feel so good right now to just like go lay in bed and so I'm in my sweats and my cozies which felt so good it's like the morning time I'm tired I'm groggy I'm sore I'm in my sweatpants and Corey thinks I'm like getting
Starting point is 00:36:59 ready to go to the gym and I'm just curled back up in bed with Louie and he comes out and I'm like let's just get coffee you know what I mean isn't that I'm just so I feel like I'm good at listening to my body but not like 100% of the time do you know what I mean like I shut that part off of my brain where I'm like it's like you should you know better but you don't do better so we got coffee and we oh I know what I'll say we have this obsession or this like stupid thing we do where nearby where we live without disclosing where we live there lies a neighborhood that we decided to not move into because Jacqueline is a I'm a tough cookie as they'd say I'm high maintenance no I know what I want and I'll
Starting point is 00:37:58 and I don't settle for anything less than that right so we chose to not move into this neighborhood because I didn't like the vibe of being like underneath other homes where they're like looking into your backyard as you're having a barbecue you know like they see everything like you're kind of underneath stuff there's no horizon line you can't see out like anyways we have but the before we found our home we um bought here we looked at this particular neighborhood and that's the whole reason we like came to this area in San Diego in the first place is for this one house that was an absolute shithole for I don't even want to say how much that is the you all know about the real the housing market especially in California and San Diego like
Starting point is 00:38:44 it's insane but um what did they sell it for they flipped it this house that we were looking at they ended up flipping after like three months and then got like 300,000 more for it or something I don't remember but um it's good comp for us that's all I know so we have this thing so we got coffee and we like to drive down this little street and we like to like make jokes about this neighborhood because we decided to not move there and then we realized like now i think he was hyped up about it because it was like the area is a good area technically the neighborhood sucks if that makes sense so um this new house popped up for 1.8 million dollars and was it 1.8 i don't know i feel like i mean i would have to look on zillow which
Starting point is 00:39:35 was like the other one went for like one almost one eight it's crazy like how much these have gone up in this particular neighborhood and we like scout because there's all these homes in this neighborhood keep popping up like they're flipping them they're they're for sale and we just like to do a little drive-by and like check things out and um drink our coffee and like you know see what what's going on and Corey's in real estate so he loves this shit and I'm you know I like learning about it so anyways that's our little routine and it's kind of like a joke um because it's on like the way to our coffee shop we can like peel off and check out this neighborhood that we didn't move into and um anyways I'm so I would say my biggest
Starting point is 00:40:19 my biggest like non-negotiable and I don't know if people think about this before they move into a new home is like the vantage point is that what it's called yeah like a vantage point vantage point like can you see out or are you just like in the thick of buildings and like stuff or like under a ravine or in a canyon at the bottom where you like can't see above you can't see like where does the sun hit the ground you know like where's the horizon line like do you know what I mean like that is so for me just like to feel like I'm not stuck or secluded or like, what's the word? Like it almost makes me feel claustrophobic. Um, I personally just like to have a big breath, like easy, like a breezy, open, like, uh,
Starting point is 00:41:17 sprawling view. Not to say that we have like some, well, we have a, we're in a really good spot. I will say like, we do have a view. Um, it's not like a ocean front type situation, but, um, so yeah that is something that I don't know if people think about because if we were to move in that other neighborhood it would feel like you're underneath a bunch of stuff and you're just like you can't see out like when the sun sets it's like you don't you never really see it go down if that makes and I grew up out in the middle of farmland where everything was flat and so maybe this is part of just how I like grew up and it's like ingrained in me to think this way but it's what makes me happy and I was I was a stickler and I I was and I'm so happy we got I
Starting point is 00:42:02 love where we live now because we have we can see out everywhere it's so nice like you you're not like underneath anything and or like inside of a canyon or whatever so um what's like another tip um for like home buying or like I don't know just like finding a place to live uh oh live another thing i didn't realize until i met cory is like we do not want our our driveway on a hill you don't want to like have a house on a hill or it's like a street you know you're like driving up a street and there's like houses on the side and it's like a nice grade a nice what's cory home shit no he's not he'll call me i told him to dial in on your way home like a street with houses on a hill what am I saying we have to like pull in on the hill
Starting point is 00:42:57 no bueno um but some things you know what I learned though like we didn't compromise what did we compromise on very little here like we got really lucky with like we got pretty much everything we wanted and then some like there are some things in this house that we didn't even like know we wanted until we moved in or until we saw it and but yeah I feel like when you a lot of people when they buy a house they're like you make compromises because you're like well I love the area I know it's on a hill or it's on like the driveway is on a slope but you know it's a good area and the house is great so you know you pick your spots of where you're gonna budge but oh my god the number one thing about this place I didn't know we were gonna get
Starting point is 00:43:39 because like I don't know especially in this area and like just California homes in general in our range it's like laundry I don't know like some places we go they like didn't even have a laundry room like when we're touring homes how did we get on this topic by the way like this is a stream of consciousness like this is a one take episode I told you like we're gonna do a check-in hi this is what's going on hi bye but a lot of the homes uh had like a closet and these are like three bed two bath or like four threes or bigger you know full-size houses like had like a closet laundry situation but we got a full-ass room like I have a laundry lair like I have a place to do laundry where it's like it can it can get shut and tucked away and there's like storage and
Starting point is 00:44:34 there's closets and there's like a space to because I don't know like every time we like tour the place I'm like oh it's in the garage or oh it's in a closet or it doesn't exist you have to like put one in put a washer and dryer in and I don't know I just wasn't too stoked about those setups so i'm really we got lucky with our laundry room i will say anyways let me see do i have any safe tiktoks um one thing i'm trying to decide is we're having a brunch part of our wedding schedule is this brunch a beautiful brunch and uh i'm trying to decide like the vibe of my dress i want to go with because I've already picked out my wedding dress but I don't have my I don't have my other
Starting point is 00:45:24 outfits yet because I need like I just need like I need like everything like I'm even thinking like I'll buy my honeymoon outfits now have we planned our honeymoon no have we talked about it yes but like we we're so like I think we're doing that 2025 early 2025 get through the holidays and then go on a honeymoon I think and I don't know we're like one thing about me is that I feel like I need to like it's just I think what do you what do you call it like not growing pains but you call it life like these are this is the um uh life what the fuck do you call it I just heard someone say a character development I don't know basically like there's there are so many different experiences in life and different chapters and different you know versions of yourself and whatnot and
Starting point is 00:46:29 something that has been so different now I mentioned earlier I moved here six years ago me six years ago and what I was my life then felt so my like um yeah my life felt so small then because it was just me I packed everything in my car and I moved out here and I like moved into the back bedroom for like six hundred dollars a month in this family's home and here in San Diego and like I worked as a secretary at a cryotherapy clinic like I literally was like I'm gonna move to California I'm gonna apply for jobs but the first one I get I'm gonna take I'm packing up my car and I'm doing it and I did it that's exactly what I did and there's like another story after that where I like literally moved in that or I moved into
Starting point is 00:47:14 that place moved out moved in with a man like a month later and that's a whole other chapter of my life I don't know if I've really gotten into on here that I think it'd be honestly a really interesting thing to like learn about or like hear about because there are so many lessons in that year along the way like and there's a lot of stuff where I'm like I don't know if I can't I don't know if I can talk about it on here or like want to say everything because it's like kind of dark and kind of fucked up so um but excuse me fucked up haven't have I been swearing a lot today I don't know if I have pretty mediocre mild but um yeah I moved in so my life felt so small it was just very like simple it was like early 20s I think I was like 22 the time 23 can't do
Starting point is 00:48:05 math I'm turning 30 what is that 23 and um I had the whole world ahead of me where now my life is so full and beautiful. And it's like, I've built this amazing life and I have all these things and people in it now. And I've, and what comes with that in this, this chapter I'm in now is more money and more problems. No, it's like more things, more problems, more, more on your plate, more problems or more. It's like, you just, you have more responsibilities, you have more on your plate and so with that if you're like me who I don't know why I'm this way and I think I talked about last episode but I'm very like mentally type a I'm a high achiever I'm like go go go go go let's do this let's like grind grind grind like you see me at the gym like I'm there I'm
Starting point is 00:48:56 every there every day I work out hard I go home I get to work I'm like go go go go go but I crash and burn quickly like I don't have a very my therapist and I talked about it like my capacity in a day is, and ever, and I tell this to Courtney, he's like, well, what are you going to do when we have kids? And I'm like, I'll, I'm, I'm like my mom. Like you just adapt, you evolve, you, you grow and you, you, this is what I'm getting to is you evolve as a person and you, you go through that like, um, period of, of like, not stress. It's like learning how to, you have to go through, you have to adapt or, um, like, like right now with like the wedding planning and buying house and, um, yeah, like getting married and, and just building a life with someone and all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:42 It's like a lot on my plate more so than ever. And it feels like a lot right now, but like, oh my God, when we have kids and that next chapter, that's going to feel like a lot too. Like you just adapt. And I talk about this a lot here because this is my show and this is my life And this is what I do here. But, um, and I've said that it's not like the thing about life is like our generation or whatever is all about like chasing happiness and being fulfilled and being happy all the time. It's all about being happy. It's like, that's not life. That's not realistic. And I'm embracing this chapter of like, it's a lot of a lot going on. It might not sound like it to some people. They're like, you know, I've got six kids and I work two jobs and I'm putting
Starting point is 00:50:28 my family on my back every day. And I'm also the house cleaner and the cook and the babysitter. And they're like, what are you talking about? Miss, you just have a podcast and a hot fiance and, and, you know, a couple of dogs. It's like, do you know what I mean? It's all relative, right? That's life. Money's real, like wealth, money. Um, I always think that too. Like sometimes you look at ballers, like billionaires, you're like, what the fuck? It's just like to them, it's like, they're just levels. It's, it's like, it's weird. Like once you get to a different level, you realize like, I don't know how to explain it. It's like not even that hard or not even that that's what I need to tell myself like okay hold on to Corey text me he says okay lol I
Starting point is 00:51:17 told him to call in um I'm really trying to find the word about like adapting and like going through the growing pains I guess that is what it is it's like growing pains where you're having to like um learn how to navigate a new set of responsibilities and a set of tasks every day and things to plan and, and like all this stuff. So, um, and that's also on being a woman and carrying the mental load. If you know, you know, no, Corey and I talk about the mental load all the time. And I, I feel like if you're, if that's one thing about Tik TOK or I'm like, Oh my God, I wish my mom had Tik TOK when, when I was growing up, because, um, it's all about, I'm all about like, look, nothing's perfect. Okay. Like you, you can't be a nagging bitch wife all the time
Starting point is 00:52:07 and be like, first of all, Corey and I have a very good dynamic and it works for us. And I feel like that's the thing. Like if you're miserable, like check in with that. And like if any of your relationship, as far as like carrying the mental load and dealing with all the little things of the household and taking care of a family and this, that, and the other, like the invisible labor, you know, check in with that. But if you're good, if it works, like keep, keep rocking with it. You know what I mean? Like, don't try to like come up with a problem that's not there, but because TikTok can help you with that. TikTok can make you realize like, wait a minute, I've been doing his laundry this whole time. Like what the fuck? He should be doing his own laundry.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Like literally women on the internet tell you that, like never do a man's laundry, like never put his clothes away like make him do that like don't do the dishes ever like or don't clean his stuff make him clean he's he's a grown man he's not a three-year-old like it's extreme you know what I mean but what I'm saying is I'm all about awareness not only am I aware that I'm in a new chapter of my life where I'm trying to like make this kind of a round top segment instead of just like feeling the pressure and the stress of life right now with all the things on my plate I'm going I'm aware of this this is called turning 30 and settling down and getting married like this is what happens and this is normal and this is you're just gonna like ride this wave and you're gonna
Starting point is 00:53:33 get through it and it's gonna be beautiful and just like take it one day at a time so I'm aware of that because my that's my thing awareness same with like being aware of like what the mental load even is and like talking to your partner about that and like because we do we talk about sometimes he rolls his eyes sometimes I feel like I'm nagging on him and saying I'm like being annoying but like if you don't and we talk we talk about like with kid stuff we talk about all the little details all the little things that could come up and like we we ping pong back and forth about how we'd handle it or what we would do like we don't even have kids yet we're like far from that or I don't know how far but like do you know what I mean and we think about these things because we
Starting point is 00:54:13 want to have I think we're just two people that like to be well prepared and we're methodical about our decisions you know we're not you're right we're not um irrational or what what's rash you know we don't make rash fast decisions something like that it's like rash decisions cool hold on I'm getting caught in mouth because my diet coke is completely gone and no i'm not high i haven't gotten stoned in over a year actually it's been a year and like our weed phase was like february 2023 our friend gave us some gummies and we had those like every night and it's just that's it that ended haven't had any weed in my system since and i don't miss cotton mouth um you only get that i only get cotton mouth when i like
Starting point is 00:55:06 get super high and I'm like like my throat is burned and um that's a good story the first time I got high do you guys want to hear it right now because I've told it before but maybe for the new listeners the first time I got high was with my brother and it was out of a fucking shampoo bottle and I thought I was gonna die and I told him to call the ambulance because I inhaled it so hard that my, I felt like my chest was burning from the inside and it was a great time after that. But, um, anyways, so why was I talking about getting, Oh, my cotton, cotton mouth. How did we get here? We were talking about life, the mental load, getting married, planning for things. Yeah. I just look ahead and I'm like, even on the fucking weekends, like I
Starting point is 00:55:58 don't okay I part of my mind being like type a go go go go go is I'm not good at relaxing like I'm not good at like taking a breath chilling doing nothing and it's like even our weekends it's like just stuff things we're going going going we're going we're doing this we're doing that it's like and a lot of the things we're doing are like chill we're like going over to his parents house or we're like going golfing or but like it's stuff and I'm like what the fuck did I used to do with my life you know what I mean like I literally would just like work out come home go to TJ Maxx like I'm thinking of a weekend day probably go to like the laundromat because they didn't have any in-unit laundry at one point um get like a coffee
Starting point is 00:56:51 I don't know like go to the beach like you know it's like whatever but I see people that are like extremely social and they're like always going out getting dressed up they're always with people they're on trips they're frolicking and I'm like I feel like I would literally die like how because I like one thing about me is I like I hate saying that I said that so much last episode one thing about me and this is what's really exciting so I was like doing our registry yesterday like I was buttoning it up and I need to show like I keep adding stuff I'm like well I want Corey to like have his opinion too you know so he's like well you know what the house household needs and I'm
Starting point is 00:57:40 like I know but like you gotta pick stuff out because it's we're both doing this and um anyways I was like wait a minute I just like I'm such a homebody at heart like I love like being home and being calm and like I don't need to do a lot and I don't like living out of a suitcase I feel like it's funnest the thing I always am conflicted by is when I'm out when I'm social when I'm doing things when I'm on trips when I'm like when we were in Vegas like the first of all the the hotel room was a it looked like a tornado went through I mean it is it was a complete shithole but I was having so much fun that whole time like it didn't matter that the home wasn't clean and perfect and decorated like I'm talking about the hotel room we were out of
Starting point is 00:58:31 it having a great time and I feel like I need to keep that in mind because this stage of my life like I don't want to turn into a little housewife hermit who's like not doing anything because it's easy I feel like when you settle down it's easy to get into that rhythm of like you're just it's like the whole like trad wife thing like my spirit I don't want it to be like it needs to like but I'm I'm a person of I get comfortable and I don't push myself I don't do things that I you know I don't get outside of my comfort zone and what am I saying I'm like oh I was excited when I was doing my registry oh yeah I was like oh I just want to like make the house cute and get all the things and like do all the things and like just that's the thing I'm gonna be my
Starting point is 00:59:12 form of socialization will be like get over here come home come to my house come to my home we're having a dinner party come sit on my couch let's have some wine let's talk let's watch a movie like I am that is my style of like being social not like hey let's get on a plane and go to a different country actually that'd be nice too but you know what I mean like more chill um so I'm like really looking forward to that just because we're pretty settled here like we've definitely like we've moved in we've unboxed everything we're like you know we're all set up but I'm just looking forward to like filling in the little corners and yeah so um should I call Corey should I just ambush him or keep talking do you guys want to know about one thing that happened in Vegas
Starting point is 01:00:06 should that be the title that'll be a sick title what happened in Vegas dot dot dot um actually I want to say something that's kind of funny but um oh my gosh Corey and I celebrated our two-year anniversary I didn't even post about that that's how in love we are. We don't, we're not like, Hey, we got to prove it to the world. You know what I mean? When we got engaged, obviously I was going to post those photos, but like I did post a one year anniversary thing last year of him and I, but we went mini golfing and we had a beautiful dinner and I left for Vegas the next morning. So like it was the night before and, um, it was great. We had two years is crazy.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Um, you know how there's like shit on shit on the internet like that. It's like couples that post, it's so, I don't know. Is it true? Is it true? Cause like, I'm a fan of like posting what makes you happy. Right. And if your other person makes you happy, then post pictures of you two together and post them away. But there's a difference between like that kind of posting and then like being super like posting how in love you are and shit and like writing a bunch about it and like I don't know how to explain it there's a specific influencer I'm thinking of right now and you might know who I'm alluding to where it's just like this feels like a performance like you don't when you're like that lovey-dovey publicly and are making making that much content of you making
Starting point is 01:01:51 out with your man and like in his arms and jumping and frolicking in the ocean it's like I don't know and is that because that it's like well you're just you're just um projecting me or I don't know um sometimes it's like it looks because I think with a real one okay not to be like not to be like I've got the real shit and that's how I know what's up but like I feel like when you I don't know I just the internet is so weird like with relationships and stuff like posting you know like it's so dumb and people like um make make assumptions and draw conclusions based on like how many pictures you've posted since you've been engaged and like or I saw this thing that was like if you just got engaged and you don't have and every single picture after that
Starting point is 01:02:52 isn't you with your man like it's a red flag like probably isn't good and I'm like my Instagram's for me like Corey will go like we just posted a hot pic of us at the wedding like of course that was a great picture of us but like I don't go like I need to like display the world that I'm with Corey every single time I post like it's my Instagram he has his own like I don't know but anyways um we just love each other and it's not like I don't know what am I saying oh I was talking about people that tried I just had another thought come in and I forgot it forgot it um fuck me two-year anniversary relationships oh yes it is a tiktok that i could play but it's just kind of long and this guy's
Starting point is 01:03:47 kind of nerdy and annoying sounding so i'll just sum it up for you but it's like so true like everything about the way we live our lives right now this is a new segment by the way oh shit i meant to do this one new segment everything about the way we live our live our lives today it's just so unnatural you know like this girl he stitched this video of this girl she was like what do you what's the diagnosis or what's the personality trait for when you get a text or an email or a phone call and you are so overwhelmed by it you don't want to respond or you can't respond and you're just or something like that right and this guy I don't know if he's a therapist
Starting point is 01:04:42 but he was like yeah that's absolutely normal you're fine this world we live in now this modern technology world is just so unnatural you're having a natural this is like a biological response It's not natural. It's not normal to be available and on call 24 seven to all of your friends and family. And so there's just that never existed in human history until recently. And so sometimes like this is just your reminder, your daily reminder that like set your goddamn boundaries with social media and your phone and texting and calls. like don't feel guilt don't feel bad like just am I turning into a yogi I'm turning into I'm gonna do this is gonna be like a 180 you're gonna see me at my wedding and it's gonna be like she got dreadlocks going she changed her dress to some fairy princess thing she's moved the location to a meadow in Wyoming and I'm just like always naked in a waterfall and I bought a van and Corey and I are doing van life like no but like straight up just remember to breathe remember
Starting point is 01:05:59 to be present and to not I mean I am chronically online I and this is the truth like this is our life now we're chronically online I was so it was I've been trying to finish Ray Dalio's uh it is a long book it's like 400 pages principles Ray Dalio principles I've been trying to finish his book for like six months okay last night took a shower got into bed I love oh my god my favorite thing ever like I'm a nighttime shower person I'm a morning shower person I work out I shower at night I shower okay cool but like approaching the bed after you shower with your skincare on your little blue light blockers I don't know why I was wearing those because like technically I didn't need them for this intention I had approaching the bed with and you're like
Starting point is 01:06:54 whatever you're like all clean and whatever maybe you had fresh sheets put on that day holy shit best thing ever um had put on meaning I put them on because we don't have it's not like we have a we do have a house cleaner come by sometimes but with the intention you're like approaching the bed you're like tonight I'm reading a book falling asleep to texts on pages that's what I'm doing like that is such a like it's almost like there's like memes it's just like you're just like just like I'm just like so just so like good at being a human and just being so loving and good to myself that I'm gonna treat myself to a book tonight you know you're just like I'm gonna reject social media and my phone and I'm gonna read and I'm gonna be all clean in
Starting point is 01:07:49 my bed with my blue light blocker glasses on even though I don't need them because I'm not looking the screen looking at a page in the book blah blah like I literally went to bed with that intention I'm like Ray Dalio I'm on like the back half of the book I'm like I'm doing it I'm so excited tonight I just felt like this like giddiness about it like that's how dumb it is like the fact that yeah um grab my phone immediately grab my phone um we were watching I forget what we watched on tv did he have something on the tv no he was was he reading he was looking at like gym equipment for our garage because we're like thinking about putting in some stuff some like weights and stuff but grab my phone didn't grab the book went down
Starting point is 01:08:36 the rabbit hole I went to bed okay I went to bed probably 30 minutes after that and I literally the the reason I went to bed was because my thumb hurt so fucking bad my thumb's been hurting it hurt all day yesterday like it it's hurting from being on my phone like this is where we're at this is 2024 welcome to like and I'm just saying like back to the whole it's unnatural this is not normal it's just like remind yourself that I don't know just I've said it so many times it's like when am I going to actually take my own medicine which I also need to side put like let me put that as a side quest we're going to go on about my low back. Hold on. Low back. Take my own medicine.
Starting point is 01:09:26 Louie's barking uncontrollably. I don't know if you can hear that. Take my own medicine. What am I saying? But like, I keep talking about like social media addiction and how like, I'm not disciplined. And like the way you have to actually be disciplined is to like literally have an intervention with yourself and like, take it seriously for real. Otherwise, like nothing's going to change. And it's that serious of an addiction where you have to like approach it like that. But yeah, I haven't done anything about it. And I, again, I like fell asleep last night to my thumb hurting. Cause I decided to scroll my phone instead of, uh, do what I set out to do, which was read a book. You know, how dumb is that? It's like, I'm fucking 30 and I
Starting point is 01:10:05 have no, it's just, we're all fucked. We're all fucked. Fucked. We're so fucked. And like four years they're saying it's like ai is gonna have a total takeover and we're all what's the industry size it's like the ai industry is gonna be 390 worth 390 trillion dollars in 2030 or some shit it's like get in now what are you investing in what are you developing what are you making what are you creating in the ai space because it's time to capitalize on this opportunity that we have here just like when the internet came out so like this is your daily reminder to stop scrolling and read a book and also learn about AI and shit. I don't know. So yeah, it's a never ending. I'm just bringing this up
Starting point is 01:10:54 because if you're listening to this podcast right now, I can almost guarantee you're just like me because that's what I, that's why I listen to podcasts. Like I feel like I relate to them in some way and like, I know that's why you're here. So I'm assuming that, I mean, it is so, do you ever just like I am now okay it is so bad some days where I'm like I'm like I'm like worried if I got a brain scan like I don't know what would come up if that makes sense but I'll have okay so like this is my routine routine I go to the gym I listen to music the whole workout I don't know if you can hear Louie barking but he's barking pretty loud
Starting point is 01:11:36 we have a dog i think by our house that he can see that he's barking at um he almost took down a german shepherd at the dog park this morning by the way which was crazy to witness and i want to talk about maybe i'll talk about bull baiting do a little history lesson on bull baiting and bulldogs sure write that down too i've got nothing but time until cory comes home he hasn't called me that so he's not on his way so shit what was I talking about what was I talking about okay I just had to go stop Louie from barking we have a we have a skunk in our canyon that just had a baby that just had a child and he was barking at the skunk I believe um I saw its little tail this is the time of day he comes out so anyways um we also got a LaCroix I'm drinking a tangerine LaCroix now
Starting point is 01:12:30 it's 5 37 p.m what time did I start 4 25 we hit the hour mark we're a little over I'll keep this under 1 30 how about that everyone's like Jacqueline like try a new format try doing because you usually record two hours try an hour and see if that helps your growth I'm like dude I gotta stay true to who I am and I am a I am a that's what I do here I talk for I can probably talk longer than two hours but usually around usually okay this is the truth around an hour 30 I kind of hit I hit that wall where I go okay it's time I said it all but lately it's been around two hours where I feel like that so anyways um my routine I was gonna get into my headphones and oh yeah so and my brain scan if I was to if I go to the doctor literally I work out
Starting point is 01:13:26 with music and then come home and whatever Corey leaves for work and I'll okay yeah usually it'll be like we he'll shower I'll shower or something like that but like let's say he showers and goes to work okay and I shower after I'll have my phone on speaker with a podcast in the shower okay and then I'll have okay let's say I wash my hair I have wet hair I'm itching to put my headphones on like that let me just get to the point of this like it's almost like a comfort thing where I feel like naked without them on this is how I'm this is how you know you're that we're gonna be half robot half human pretty soon here. Cause like I'm feeling, I'm feeling a romantic connection with my headphones lately or like a, I'm feeling a comfort. Okay. They are very comfortable by the
Starting point is 01:14:17 way. Shout out Treblab on Amazon. They're great workout headphones, very sweat resistant over your headphones. Um, I think under a hundred dollars. So shout out to Treblab. Love them. Uh, just don't take them in the sauna. I learned that the hard way. My first pair got fried. The second pair don't go in the sauna cory's calling me i want to talk about my i will talk about my phone addiction or my listening to music and podcast addiction here here we go hi honey on you're on the podcast oh thank goodness i thought i missed the show no so we're just we're hitting that hour in like 10 mark right now so oh what the hell have you been talking about all this time I told them everything that happened in Vegas
Starting point is 01:15:02 you did no I'm kidding I'm just kidding I didn't say anything I knew that would freak you out I'm not freaked out okay well I would never
Starting point is 01:15:15 I wouldn't talk about what happened in Vegas because you don't do that so no it stays there yeah do you have any wild Vegas stories of course
Starting point is 01:15:23 is that where wait is that how you hurt your ankle it is it is I have a lot of funny stories from Vegas but I have to keep them there what was the story with your ankle oh gosh I was there for a couple hours and I was in sandals and my buddy and I just had a I don't know margarita or something and we jumped off I jumped off the escalator in sandals and my left ankle popped and it just snapped to the left and I broke it. Very weird. I stayed there for three days, went out, went out to dinner, couldn't put on my shoes. I had to go to the club in my sandals because my ankle
Starting point is 01:16:12 was so swollen. That wasn't fun. Do you have a metal plate in it? Titanium plate in my ankle yep i never look at your ankles or your feet my ankles are pretty good no cankles oh i'm happy isn't that i feel like with you like i don't even know what your ankles look like it's nothing but steel i've seen the scar you have a gnarly scar yeah um so you're on the way home, and can you please plan our perfect evening? Go. We head over to Home Depot.
Starting point is 01:16:52 You look into my eyes and say, dear, why don't we stop and get a fresh, ice-cold DC? I say, of course. Thank you. As we're going into Home Depot, there's only one place we're looking at, and that is the Weber, brand-new Weber
Starting point is 01:17:07 All-Deluxe Grill. Do I go with the one that folds up for $11.96 or do I go cheap and go to $9.50? They're that expensive? Well, the ones I would want, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:24 I thought they were like $200 for a grill. No, I mean, the one that's from it's like called Next Grill is $200 but the Weber's are usually like anywhere between $7,000 to $1,000. Hmm. So, that would be my
Starting point is 01:17:39 perfect. Then, throw that in the car. Then, Head to the sushi bar For this Friday And Have a wonderful meal That I pay for And you enjoy
Starting point is 01:17:52 Ben? Ben? Is this on Patreon Or is this normal? All of the viewers Keep a PG, honey This is not for the exclusive Patreon
Starting point is 01:18:07 I didn't think so This isn't Patreon I can't say Do you know what my Patreon plug is? sure cory patreon.com slash what slash what patreon.com slash slash what you you don't know my patreon no yeah you do what is it i don't remember t what's my podcast abbreviation
Starting point is 01:18:35 Oh, oh Uh, JM JMS TJMS No, it's just patreon.com Slash TJMS, $5 a month Subscribe Um, then we go
Starting point is 01:18:51 Okay, wait, so go, what was after the sushi That you pay for and I enjoy Then we go home Have a nice fro-yo And all you do is you just crumble in my arms I don't know why we just ate and did all that I said, honey, you'll be just fine. And then we go to bed.
Starting point is 01:19:10 But I love crumbling, the mental crumble. Why did we have sushi? And why did I decide to go with a large bullfrog of a double fro-yo every time? Every time I had a nice 30-minute talk, I had to sit down on the couch. You're staring at me. The wet season's coming up. I said, it'll be fine. I fold like a chair.
Starting point is 01:19:33 Just folding like a chair. Just instant depression So why don't we do that tonight No I'm not doing that I'm having a nice single square Of dark chocolate after dinner And I'm calling it a night Alright I'll see you when I get home
Starting point is 01:19:48 Bye everyone I'm bored bye No wait actually like Should I make dinner Yes Like I love what we've been doing Okay let's do it again I don't
Starting point is 01:20:03 I'm not honestly I'm not craving sushi I'm craving like Tender greens Tender greens? No Do I want that? I'm craving
Starting point is 01:20:12 How about How about some Thai food? Shit At that restaurant Fuck you No No The cow soy
Starting point is 01:20:22 The cow soy would be Yeah It's only 1500 calories per bite No Come on 10 star spice It is Friday night How are we going to navigate the future
Starting point is 01:20:35 Of our like diet plan here Because I told you our Luke Combs concert Is our first fuck at night And that's in like Oh I'm not doing it I'm not drinking and I'm not eating Out and having snacky poos Like I used to with you
Starting point is 01:20:52 But our first time is Luke Combs I gotta go I don't like the negativity No okay fine but like i'll let you know what we're gonna have i think that thai food would be a great option i do like those spring rolls the spring rolls are very good goodbye all right i'll see you when you get home right okay bye love you love you too bye oh boy yeah that's like the that's like the um what do you call it the the never-ending battle of our lives where we're like we're gonna be healthy and then we like
Starting point is 01:21:28 fuck around and then we're like I'll have a breakdown he has to console me thing is is he's like I hate what he tells me he's like you're just you're with the wrong guy he's like if you're with me like you're just with but I'm like I'm not like I've gained since I met Corey like 12 pounds by the way like it's just like not ideal and that's when you're in a healthy loving relationship that's just natural like you're gonna be eating the sweets together and you're gonna be going out to dinners and you know it's it's the love weight as they say but I'm over it I'm like I want to go back to me being a stressed out anorexic stressed out thicken my eating disorder mess where I would you know it's kind of fucked up about sorry fucked up about the past of my eating
Starting point is 01:22:17 disorder is like I was eating good do you know what I mean like I would have my days where I'd say fuck it and I was eating good so you never like go 100% to zero where you're like not eating any bad foods at all but like you'd have your days where you're at 100 and you're like I just ordered a pizza and I ordered froyo and I ordered cookies bags of chips and candy bars and I'm eating it all and now you're this is called uh I don't know if I've ever talked about this I have an entire episode about it but it's uh it's like one in three Americans struggle with this apparently allegedly I don't know it's binge eating that's what it's called so you do that and then like the next day you're like I'm never eating again and then you like don't eat for like
Starting point is 01:22:57 a month like you just go back to clean eating and over exercising and you undo what you just did the night before but like you kind of you're like eating good sometimes like your once a month little cheat you know what I mean and it's like a good time and then you're just back on your salads and shit and it's like the hamster wheel you're perpetually on until you like finally chill out and find balance and recover which I finally did but now what I'm saying is like I don't want to fuck around anymore I'm like I just want to get back to like being a little I don't know a little more mindful with my health and wellness and especially with like the drinking and eating the processed foods and stuff like we don't we have we've had our fun
Starting point is 01:23:37 like i don't need froyo tonight i don't need do the thai food sounds so good though but it's so funny how he's just like we immediately crumble like we immediately give in he'll suggest something and it's like immediately yes he'll be like do you want to go get there's this place by us with amazing waffles and he's like they're like liege waffles from germany that are like the ones with the sugar crystals and like we found this place when we moved to this neighborhood and like it'll be a Saturday where I'm like I'm gonna be healthy I mean it's like a Saturday I'm gonna do like a workout eat a protein shake and like go on a hike and play some golf and I'm gonna have like a summer camp day and I'm gonna be super healthy and it's like instead of all that it's like we
Starting point is 01:24:21 end up waking up he's like do you want to get coffee and a Nutella waffle and I'll be like fuck yeah immediately fuck yeah like there's no like I just don't have any willpower with Corey and neither of us do like I'll suggest something he'll say as he'll suggest something I'll say yes where I'm just not with the kind of guy that's like we're we're very balanced I think we're a good example of like how you can be balanced you know what I mean but we're we're definitely not like super I've been with a I've been with guys that are on worse more hardcore diet than I am which is so annoying because you're like I'm the girl in this like you're not supposed to you're not supposed to be this fucked up more fucked up about food than i am like come on and
Starting point is 01:25:06 that was so annoying to the point where like i couldn't even bake cookies without him spraying windex on it and throwing it throwing it in the garbage like on a consistent basis like if i had any like sweets in the house he would like throw it in the trash and destroy it so he wouldn't eat it all so i'm very happy now with where we're at with her health wellness and her eating and her food but um thai food does sound good i do love a spring roll and a tom kha soup tom kha soup oh my god that broth un there is nothing better than that coconutty lemongrassy sweet tom kha broth at a thai restaurant i want to drink that out of a baby bottle i don't know why i thought of a baby bottle. I did just see my niece and nephew. Um, what was that a few days ago? They
Starting point is 01:25:57 were here for the wedding. They're so cute. They're growing up so fast and I don't know, just makes me so happy and excited about my future with kitties, kiddos and babes and bottles and cuteness overload. They're just so cute. And my one-year-old niece said, we asked her to say Jacqueline or I think we say can you say Jack Jack and she's like not even talking yet she can say mama and dad I think she's mama dada um but she kind of knows when you're asking her now to say like when you're asking her to say a word I think she comprehends like hey we're trying to get you to say a word repeat what we're saying like she that whole thing is like clicking for her now. And she said, Jaja, Jaja. So cute. I melted. I was like, Oh my God. I also guessed
Starting point is 01:26:47 her first and middle name. I was the only one who guessed it before she was born. And that was like a huge, um, I don't know. I just feel like this connection to my niece because she's such a great name so um cool what was i saying oh thai food tom kha soup out of a out of a out of a bottle out of a baby bottle baby bottle pop baby bottle pop baby bottle pop oh sorry that's so annoying i didn't want to do that one fuck a little too loud there um back to my routine about being addicted so basically all I'm saying is this and I'm going to talk to you about my low back and bull baiting and this is going to be like a rapid fire ending here because like I might have to look cute in a little bit in a short short bit excuse me because if we go out to a restaurant I'm not
Starting point is 01:27:41 I'm freshly showered right now looking like I don't know what's like a wet dog I don't know um so basically what I was saying is like from the second Corey leaves for for work all day long I'm plugged in I'm stimulated I'm entertained I'm listening to podcasts right and it's so weird where like as I have wet hair post shower I'm like like I'm kind of like in this like state of like uncomfortability where I'm like, okay, I have wet hair. I need to like brush this out right now. But sometimes I'm like, I'm not even going to brush this wet hair. I'm going to get out of the shower, have my towel on. I do my skincare ASAP because I know I want those headphones on as soon as possible. Like, this is so crazy. This is how I, this is why I'm like,
Starting point is 01:28:34 I'm scared to get a brain scan. I need to like really look into this cause I'm worried, you know, like, is this frying? You know what they say about Bluetooth and like wireless stuff? I know they're not in-ear headphones but I know it's not great to like wear them 24 7 either the over ears so yeah I literally like don't like the sound of speakerphone and it's inconvenient to have my phone like hold it and walk around with it everywhere so I put on my bluetooth headphones ASAP and then I like will literally get changed like let's say I'm putting on a sports bra tank top a sweatshirt I'm literally like maneuvering my clothes over the headphones because I'm like I know I should just like get dressed and then put them on after it's like no no no I need them
Starting point is 01:29:14 on immediately out of the shower because the shower it's on speaker then I have to put the the headphones on so it's in my ear so I feel this like comfort of my headphones on and I just like the experience I think what it is is like it's such a you feel immersed with the podcast hosts with the people on the show when you're like listening to a headphone version of the episode over like a speakerphone version of the episode so I think that's what it is it's just a more enjoyable experience it's more convenient because I can walk around I don't have to like hold my phone everywhere but it's like this addiction thing where I'm like I have to I can't like Corey can't leave the house I can't be home because I work from home everything I do is home
Starting point is 01:29:57 without like immediately grabbing my headphones and like being stimulated you know what I mean like it's weird to just like be in silence and not be I don't know if there's any like housewives stay-at-home moms uh people that work from home that are like this too where I I would feel so uncomfortable and I know it's like super good for you it's super good for creativity and your mind and just your brain to like have silence and like not be overstimulated all the time but um maybe this is just me like adapting like this is me just like this is part of evolution this is where it's going we're gonna be half human half robot what did i say i don't know like oh is he home is he here shit shit no they know when the dogs can hear
Starting point is 01:30:47 and bark um you guys are literally just like hanging out with me the guy's here um yeah so anyways uh my low back and bull baiting are we gonna get to that are we gonna end the episode you're gonna hear the dog spark so I don't want to talk about my low back basically I told Corey when he hurt his back to do glute workouts to help his low back and it completely fixed his low back and he has no pain anymore and I my low back hurt a month ago and I as I said I stopped working out my glutes and I was just like walking every day and then my low back just kept getting worse and worse and worse and get I kept getting in more and more pain and I was like worried to lift because I was like
Starting point is 01:31:28 I don't want to hurt my back. And then long story short, Corey said, I lost my ass. And as you know, like we went through that segment and I was like, okay, I need to work out my glutes again because I can't, cause I see it too. And then I started working on my glutes and then my low back doesn't hurt anymore. So long story short, if you have low back pain, work out your glute muscles. Cool. Bull baiting. As I said earlier, I watched Louie take down German shepherd at the dog park today. and i was just like my man you know what i mean like they have after i learned about bulldogs and bull baiting i was like wow i understand why louis our english bulldog is the way he is and essentially back in the 1800s in england uh hence the english bulldog there was a
Starting point is 01:32:17 hi honey I think he's trying to like be or be incognito he can come in are you gonna come in hi hon he's gonna come and see me do my thing it's like yeah I love it's like when you used to when I used to be a jersey chaser I'd see
Starting point is 01:32:40 my man out on the field I'd be like fuck yeah it's like you've watched him doing their profession it's like fuck yeah even though i'm sitting here looking like a wet dog with headphones on the microphone you know you're gonna come see me do my thing that was so cringy why did i say that i didn't mean to say it like that honey he went outside on the deck he loves like because our backyard isn't finished he literally just goes and like stares into the backyard and just like thinks about what we're gonna do it's really funny it just kind of zones out stairs so bull baiting so back in
Starting point is 01:33:20 the 1800s in england you know how there was like the gladiators and the coliseum and people would watch you know uh the gladiators or the romans or whatever what were they called the like fight to the death and fight animals hi hon anyways i don't know if you can hear him right now he's out there feeding them the farmer's dog anyways so yeah bull baiting was similar where it's like people gather around and watch bulls like bulls with horns get taken out by bulldogs hence why they're called bulldogs and so basically bull baiting is where um you would pepper a bull's nose so you need pepper a bull and two bulldogs you put pepper in the bull's nose it goes buck wild it goes crazy it's enraged and you release the two bulldogs on the bull and whatever bulldog
Starting point is 01:34:19 takes down the bull is the one that wins and then if you bet on that bulldog you win a bunch of money or whatever it's like gambling but you're gambling on the dogs uh taking down the bull and so they that that was the whole like gist of what bullfighting is oh my god so he just came in and gave me a smile I'm just like he just loves watching me do what I do cool um biggest fan so and they banned it I believe in 1835 I think that's the exact year when they deemed it inhumane or like in not inhumane and, um, unethical or whatever. And it was like an animal protection act of some sort that came out. And so it ended, but, um, that's where bulldogs got their name. And, um, it actually transitioned after the bulls, they tested it out with bears. And so
Starting point is 01:35:16 they would do the same thing, but with like black bears and release bulldogs on bears, which ended horribly obviously because they're you know basically just eating the dogs and you're watching a brutal murder happen instead of the dog like taking down the bull i guess i don't know if they fought the bull to the death i think they went because i think they went for the neck um i don't know because because cory whenever louis and jimmy play because jimmy's our golden retriever if you didn't know louie always goes for jimmy's neck and he they're just aggressive and we met another english bulldog the other day and the guy was like yeah he's really chill like he doesn't act like that he was basically saying like his his bulldog was not didn't have those
Starting point is 01:36:05 like instincts but louie is clearly an english bulldog like when you watch how he is it like make sense there he not like it's not like he goes for the kill but he's psychotic like once he locks on a target it's like he sees red it's like he his eyes and I've posted so many videos of this or in pictures of like his eyes completely going they're they're fully dilated and he's in psycho mode like that's how he gets and so I'm like I've never seen a dog I love that Corey has an english bulldog because i've never been around one before i met him i've never seen a dog so um committed or like every like when they switch into that mode it's like 200 there's no like oh they can kind of like lightly play or like lightly go after the ball or like
Starting point is 01:36:58 like i threw him the ball at the dog park today and it was like life or death that he had to get it it's like he gives it a hundred percent every time or 200 every time and um the thing that I also also learned is they do this like lockjaw thing I know it's not just bulldogs I think dogs in general where he like doesn't let go of whatever he's latched on to and it's like literally cement like his jaw is just dog bulldog I'm just typing this in I don't know how we got here. Um, wait a minute. What time did I start? Okay. I think we're at the hour and a half mark. Latch jaw. How do you release a dog's lock jaw? Give it muscle relaxers. No, that's not what I wanted. Yeah. I don't know. They're cool. They're
Starting point is 01:37:49 really cool dogs. Um, the reason I'm even telling you this is because the other day it dawned on me, I was like, I have this bulldog here that's acting crazy all the time. And it's so wide, just such an interesting dog and I'm like I know nothing about why he is the way he is in the history like I've had golden retrievers my whole life I know that they're bird dogs like I know the whole like history of them but I I know nothing about bulldogs and I've heard about like the whole bull thing but I didn't realize it was like a a competition it was like some a spectacle like people would gather around and and like watch the this bull getting taken out by bulldogs. Like for some reason, this is like when Corey's like, I do have a little blonde in me,
Starting point is 01:38:32 as he would say, what he's, he told me about how they like, how they would latch onto the bulls or whatever. I was envisioning a farm dog. I thought bulldogs were like out on the farm in England. And like the, if the farmer needed to like, you know, wrangle a bull and like calm it down or like get attacked together, they released the bulldog on it. And it would like, you know, grab its neck or its leg or whatever and like chill the bull out which I don't know how that would just make it worse I feel like now that I think about it but that's where my brain went and so when I looked up the history it was like no they're like killing the bull they're like fighting to the death or they're competing with another bulldog to try to like take this bull
Starting point is 01:39:18 down I just thought it was really interesting and sometimes a bull would win there's a lot of a lot of like historical pictures of bulldogs being flung in the air. Um, that's a brutal thing. I mean, yeah, I guess there's worse types of, I guess like this reminds me of like when I grew up, we had chickens and we had roosters and where I grew up, there was a lot of people from Mexico that worked out in the fields if that makes sense um migrant migrant workers and we would every now and then I feel like my dad or my mom would just be like they would just get over it they'd be like fuck the chickens we're getting rid of them like we would go through we we constantly had chickens growing up like it was we never I I bet maybe
Starting point is 01:40:16 there was like one year of my childhood where we didn't have chickens like we always had them but sometimes we get rid of them right and so we'd literally put them in a rabbit hutch I don't know why they'd all be stuffed in a rabbit hutch but they'd be in a rabbit hutch with a free sign on the hutch on the side of side of the road by your house and then them roosters would go quick if you know what I'm saying because they would cockfight the the migrant workers I don't know that's just what we would call this is what I know from growing up we call them it's like I don't like to bring the whole like race thing in but that's that's their it's a cultural thing I believe cockfighting is part of what they do in their
Starting point is 01:40:49 culture and so they would immediately take the roosters and I believe they were is that illegal is cockfighting illegal I'm in a rabbit hole right now we're just going to find this out hold on cockfighting Mexico I just typed in cock Mexico it's probably not what I cockfighting mexico marker calendars i think it's a 27th is that the debate i don't want to forget that just thinking of biden trump debate is it the 27th it's later and it's the end of june i think it's the 27th cockfighting in mexico preserving tradition so i was right 20 years ago on the first morning in my new home in classy san miguel i woke up at 4 a.m to what sounded like a barnyard quarrel in my courtyard the racket actually was coming from the neighborhood patio
Starting point is 01:41:45 where besides where besides raising chickens the owners trained several fierce roosters for cockfighting it's important to note that i lived in the heart of the city centro not on the outskirts cockfights are usually found as part of the grand ferries grand fairs that take place every year on the same dates in every state in mexico yeah it's cool um so it's a historical thing a bit of history the sport is thought to have its origins in southeast asia more than 3 000 years ago spreading to india iran and through the middle east to Europe cockfighting in Europe goes back before the time of Christ when the fighting cock associated with the gods was part of religious worship over the years cockfighting took place all over Russia
Starting point is 01:42:39 Africa Australia and Europe from Rome to England where it often took place in churches that's crazy modern legalities oh is most popular in Spain blah blah blah since it has not only been popular in mexico but in central america puerto rico puerto rico that is the best soundbite from trump ever look it up puerto rico the way he says it look it up it's worth it um just type in like tiktok trump puerto rico modern legalities in recent years cockfighting has been declared illegal in many countries in the wake of animal cruelty accusations or because of opposition to gambling of course it's not funny how i went from bull baiting to cock fighting and i know i have my listeners that like when i talk about farm life and the shit i grew up doing out there on the
Starting point is 01:43:32 prairie but um i just have a fond memory of like my parents like it would be like the chickens are on their last legs someone like one of them died or like the kids like we're just like too busy with sports we're forgetting to feed them or like we're not doing a good job taking care of them we never would forget to feed them I don't want to make it sound like we starved our chickens but it was kind of like they were being neglected and we weren't really you know we weren't really taking it was always like a thing like who fed the chickens did anyone feed the chickens like go out and feed the chickens you know it's like we would we wouldn't forget the horse or the sheep or the dogs or the cats but like the chickens were like and then we'd have like a compost bin
Starting point is 01:44:14 we'd be like just feeded them that all the time which is like really good for if you want good eggs, give them like compost. Um, and that shit stunk, but yeah, there were so many times where it was like, we're getting rid of the chickens today. And it was kind of sad. I'm like, damn. But, um, speaking of those roosters though, we kind of had a on and off again, chicken set up where we had a really nice chicken coop we built, but sometimes we'd be like, let them run free, let them be free. And with that, especially with roosters comes problems because your kid and your little Catholic school uniform, like waiting for the bus and you're standing out there with your little backpack and you got a rooster chasing you down, going after
Starting point is 01:45:03 your ankles. And the amount of times I've sprinted away from a rooster, like they were nasty. Like we had two of them we had two one was a mohawk chicken a black with a white mohawk and the other one was the other one was a red and orange rooster and yeah literally it was like running for your life all the time like anytime you went outside it's like oh shit here comes a rooster and it's like fight or flight you got to get away from it and um also with letting your chickens run free on on uh run free out in your yard next to a road where the speed limit is 50 miles per hour and there's a lot of people that would not take that speed limit seriously there's a lot of chickens that got hit by a car okay a lot of a lot of sad mornings waking up to a flattened chicken
Starting point is 01:45:56 that is i've said it before and i'll say it again like i have so many different versions of or types of childhood trauma but my I could say my most like one of the ones that's like I didn't realize until literally like a year ago or like a year yeah like a year into the podcast was like wait I saw so much death animal wise growing up like it was just part of life on the farm you're just like the dead cat dead calf next door at the at the dairy farm a dead chicken on the road uh in my case of my dead goat you know like god it just there's so many my horse getting shot in the face on my birthday that i thought was getting euthanized with a needle no the farmer next door came to me a month later and said what happened to your horse
Starting point is 01:46:41 why did someone shoot it and i thought what you know like shit like that so uh i'm trying to think of the most effed up thing i've seen i think the grossest thing i saw ever was a cow getting butchered that was disgusting they literally like hoisted up by its ankles and just slit its belly all the way down and gut it and there's just like shit coming out of its intestines and like how do you even how do you even get into that industry like how do you even like I don't know it's so gory anyways okay I gotta wrap the episode we gotta get dinner we gotta eat dinner we gotta I don't know what we're gonna do I could make tonight I can make a beautiful high protein pasta with shrimp and, and, uh, I don't know, some really good Parmesan
Starting point is 01:47:40 on top. I had an entire block of cheese. I literally, I've been, so another thing I'm doing is I'm weighing myself every morning. Cause I never do that. And I just kind of want to know what's going on. So I think it's smart to like, if you're trying to like tone up, whatever, like just know where you're at every day, like know your numbers. Right. And the other morning Corey was on his way home from work and I'm putting together a charcuterie board and I'm talking talking to him on the phone and I'm just like compulsively eating this charcuterie board while he's on his way home as I'm on the phone with him I just repeat myself but you get it and he comes home it's completely gone okay half a block of cheese was a huge half like it was a
Starting point is 01:48:15 big block of cheese from Trader Joe's next morning I wake up I had two pounds up on the scale and I go what the fuck like I thought I ate clean yesterday I was like I ate so healthy I worked out. He's like, you had, he's like, you ate the whole, what does he call it? The, the chutey board, something like that. He's like, you had the whole chutey board to yourself. And I'm like, fuck me. You try, you fail, you try again. And that is, what is that quote? Uh, fuck. Trying is failing or failing. No. Try some more. Try again. No, my favorite quote is the Mark Twain one uh uh it popped up on a documentary recently as like the first the first scene you like see a quote with a black screen it was like
Starting point is 01:48:59 in in life there's two times I'm butchering this it's like in life there's two times when you're born or the two times fuck I'll just read it and then I'm gonna literally end it I'm just gonna to say bye mark twain quote mark twain quote no that's not it born fuck what's that mark twain book is he an author wait oh yeah the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why I was gonna say goodbye and then I'm like wait I don't want to end every now wait Mark Twain now I'm in another rabbit hole Mark Twain Jacqueline you should try a new format you should do an hour episode and just um like don't make it so long fuck off born november 30th 1835 cool what there's a there's a town called florida missouri
