Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 374. Welcome back to the show. I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I've got no love for the fakeness. If you want to play tough and want to hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. I don't ever slow up. No, I don't teach. I've got no love for the fakeness. If you want to play tough and want to hate this, I'll always show up and make a statement. hey what's up it's Jacqueline welcome back to the show hello hello happy happy Friday June 7th just looked at the date immediately what does this date mean to me Friday June 7th it means that in exactly
Starting point is 00:00:49 one month from today I'm turning 30. I'm turning 30 on July 7th you know shut up okay like it just hit it just got real we're a month out I'm 30 in a month um so yeah happy Friday uh happy weekend I have a great show for you today we're gonna talk we're gonna like I'm gonna do the life update part and I have a lot of fun little life updates to tell you, but, um, over the last, like what happened over the last week, but, um, we're going to go deep into the trad wife corner of the internet because it's a thing right now, trad wife, meaning traditional life. And we're going to deep dive into that. We're going to talk about some relationship stuff, healthy relationship stuff. Um, my little like
Starting point is 00:01:48 two cents on like how you know how you how do you know if you found the one or like what does that feel like or what does that look like and honestly I just put those two topics down because I've been looking at the last I don't know like 10 episodes and we're hitting two hours every time and how many times during the episode do I say oh yeah like this will be like like last week I was like oh yeah I gotta this will be under two hours and then it was of course it was two hours anyways um so before we get started please hit that subscribe button wherever you're listening right now I'm on Apple Spotify Google Podcast Stitcher Breaker Overcast wherever you listen to podcasts please hit that subscribe button I'm here once a week I post my episodes every Friday
Starting point is 00:02:28 and don't forget to review the show five stars on the Apple and Spotify apps subscribe to my YouTube channel uh this is a video and audio podcast so subscribe to my YouTube channel the jocelyn monroe show and tiktok at jocelyn monroe um i kind of went viral yesterday viral with a clip i made about i'm so full of shit i got like it got for me viral is like 3 000 views so mini viral it to me it's all relative right it's all about perspective so like that was a big win for me getting a video to have multiple thousands of views and hundreds of likes so tiktok jacqueline rogo check me out posted my clips there what am i drinking today we're drinking a lemon perfect hydrating lemon water
Starting point is 00:03:30 these i had one for the first time was it last year in palm springs yeah i was just in palm springs laying by a pool and the water boy gave me this lemon perfect hydrating lemon water and And I was just like, where has this been my whole life? It's just, it's like water with lemon in it, but they put, um, it's got like stevia extract. It's like, it definitely tastes like there's something more than just water in here, but it's all organic and no sugar and, or like, you know, stevia sugar. So that's what we're drinking today. Corey and I skipped the gym, went to Starbucks this morning.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I had a grande skinny vanilla latte with an extra shot and then immediately down that in the car on the way home which was like a five minute drive took a and then I immediately poured myself another iced coffee uh from nut pods so I've got that on deck as well hydrating lemon water iced coffee the whole world ahead of me and the microphone in my mouth and we are ready to go here. So, okay. That's me setting the scene. Yeah. No gym this morning because we, we literally, we woke up at seven, which is so late for us, but he was at the Padres game last night and I was up late working on my podcast. So I was like, okay, I can skip a day and life update. Like, let's just deep dive into this right now. I want to take a quick break with you right
Starting point is 00:05:02 now to talk about today's sponsor, Modare. Modare is an innovator in health and wellness and a leader in collagen. The company who found a way to help us all grow young. And it's not magic, it's science. They are the number one world-class award-winning brand here to help you look and feel your beautiful best from the inside out. They're committed to clean living and are changing the lives of millions every day. They are architects of a future where health isn't just a fad, it's a revolution. So I love Modere because as you know, I'm prepping for my wedding that's happening later this fall, and I could use all the hair, skin, and nail prep that I can get. So I've been taking their liquid biocell collagen. It's a liquid form of collagen, not the powdered
Starting point is 00:05:50 form for the last month. And it's the first time I've ever taken a collagen supplement where I notice a visible difference in my skin. Of course with other collagen supplements like you notice your nails growing and that's the most obvious difference and that's the same with the liquid biocell collagen from Modere but the difference in my skin is undeniable. The hydration that I noticed, the plumpness, the glow from taking the Modere liquid biocell collagen is insane and I'm never going to stop taking this stuff. Like putting a tablespoon of the liquid biocell collagen from Modere on a spoon every morning is one of my favorite parts of my wellness routine. And I cannot recommend Modere liquid biocell collagen and their products enough. They have
Starting point is 00:06:37 an entire line of skincare, home care, healthy weight and fitness care. They literally have all the products you would ever need to support your health and wellness. And my favorite thing about Modera is that they're clean. So I've been switching over to clean products in my home. As you know, we just, I'm not only prepping for my wedding, we also just moved into a new house and I'm all about non-toxic living. So I love Modera products for that reason. So if you're interested in trying out Modera's products, go click the link in the description of this episode for $10 off your first order and right now they're doing a 15% off promo on their website so you'll get 15% off plus the $10 off if you use my code so thank you Modere for sponsoring this
Starting point is 00:07:28 podcast and now let's get back to the show I am now in my as you know we're getting married this fall and last week I talked about um my like yoga pilates journey that I'm going down for in the next few months to feel and look my best on my wedding day because I mostly weight lift and I don't want to look like a jacked bodybuilder in my wedding dress so we're trying to like you know lengthen and chill out the muscles a little bit and um anyways I've been doing two a days like this is I need to stop like I'm like wait a minute because I talked about last week how like I stopped lifting and I was like walking 20,000 steps a day for the whole month of what was that like May or like April May and I lost all my ass and so now I'm like wait so if I do my glute
Starting point is 00:08:20 workout in the morning and then I go to yoga or Pilates in the afternoon that I'm like it'll like even out where I'll still keep my you know muscle but I'll also lengthen it I don't know I don't know I'm trying my I'm just I'm testing things out and what I will say is I feel amazing I love yoga and Pilates and I've been using class pass which I love because I don't want to like pay for a full-on membership if I'm only gonna go maybe like once or twice a week to these places so yeah that's been the the that's the update on my bridal fitness journey we're definitely like cleaning up the diet too like I've been and it's just it's just like a lot of grilled chicken right now like to be honest and like shrimp and honestly like the truth is this like I'm eating the same
Starting point is 00:09:17 way I always eat I'm just not having processed foods like that's it like literally it's been nice like I just kind of go okay at the end of the night if I'm like craving something sweet I just down a piece of dark chocolate and a little peanut butter and I call it a day you know I'm not like fiending for like a fro-yo or like a giant brownie or something like I because we we would usually do that like a lot of the nights of the week we'd have we'd like go get dessert you know what I mean and now we just like don't do that so um we're shredding for the wet it's going well I every time literally every time I get back into like a studio class situation where there's like a studio fitness class environment I'm like why don't I do this all the time like why I feel like
Starting point is 00:10:01 I'm such a creature of habit so like I said I've been weightlifting consistently for two years before that it was like pandemic mayhem chaos me just like walking in my neighborhood during the lockdown and like doing home workouts on YouTube and like being like a slob so um literally when everything opened up I went back to the gym I started lifting I've been doing that for two years cool um but I haven't taken any like yoga classes or Pilates classes or any of that I literally just work out at the gym um it's like a typical like gym gym you know what I mean so I literally I was in this Pilates studio and I'm like where have I why I don't I'm like I need to be doing this like regular regularly which I now will I'm so blessed where I live because
Starting point is 00:10:55 it's at my fingertips like I live in San Diego but like especially where we just moved to our new house like and I was thinking like in the future when we have kids if I need to like pop out and go to Pilates like it's a five minute drive like I don't have to like it's so convenient everything about where we live is so convenient and so like great and we there's so many updates and like they're on the real estate front too with our neighborhood and like these homes that are selling by us and um there's actually like a project that's being um or a a flip they're doing a flip down the street and it's just crazy what they just listed the house for and we're just like looking at ourselves like we got so lucky so anyways um yeah I took I've been doing
Starting point is 00:11:43 Pilates and yoga I've been specifically hot yoga I'm actually gonna go since I didn't I'm like I'm gonna skip the workout today this is the thing like I feel like I'm excited right now I'm like oh I'm in my Pilates and yoga era my bridal shred for the wet era and I'm like gung-ho and so I'm taking a lot of classes I'm doubling and doubling it up with my lifting and um this is interesting how are you how is June treating you so far how is this how is this lovely Friday June 7th a month out from my birthday treating you because my 30th birthday treating you because um I just want to let you know that I appreciate you and I'm glad you're here with me right now I don't know where you are in the world. But I really hope that whatever I do today, choose to whatever path
Starting point is 00:12:33 we go on together. I hope it really brightens your day and add some sort of joy, comfort and love to your, yeah, your life. So that's why I like podcasts. I literally, I'm a junkie. I'm such a junkie. And, um, sometimes it doesn't need to be all about changing the world and fixing the world's problems. It can just be about like comfort and a friend in your ear, you know, like that's what I can provide here and that's what I want to provide. So therefore I'm doing it. We're going to talk about, like I said, stay tuned. We're going to be talking about the trad wife, uh, stuff because, and I'm really, I'm like, I want to get the life updates done, but, um, I just want to let you know, it's going to get, it's going to get good. Um, so yeah,
Starting point is 00:13:17 I'm 30 in a month. I'm doing yoga and Pilates, just getting ready for the wed. Um, I'm obsessed. Oh, I have a story. I don't know if I should say this. Should I say this? Cause I feel like I'm going to be a regular at this place and I don't want him to like, he's not going to listen to this podcast. It's fucking whatever. So by the way, like this'll be the fitness segment. Okay. We'll move into like the other stuff in a sec. But, um, I went to yoga a couple of nights ago. I've been doing these classes at like 4 30 so I like do my work day and then it's like 4 30 which is the perfect time because by the time I'm done with the class I can like come back home start making dinner and like I can be home with Corey when he gets home from work and it's like the
Starting point is 00:14:03 perfect timing so I go to this yoga class and there's the only spot was left was in the front a row. And I was like, fuck it. Like, it's fine. Um, it's my second hot yoga class, by the way, in six years. So before I moved to San Diego, San Diego, I was doing hot yoga as my primary workout, like five days a week. Um, every day after work, I go to hot yoga. So now this is, this is my second class. I don't do yoga. I kind of do it here and there, like on my own mat, but I'm not like I don't but it all it's like riding a bike you just like you know what to do like you've done this so many times like so what I'm trying to say and I'm all about like talking about what you're good at and hyping yourself up and being your biggest cheerleader and like
Starting point is 00:14:50 being like complimenting yourself when you're like proud of yourself when I say I am the most talented yogi in that goddamn class of people that probably go here like regular like these are the regulars in this class like they're going to yoga all the time and I'm sitting there going like no I didn't know that I was this like fit I guess like I know I'm fit because of lifting like I can tell that I've built muscle and everything but it's a whole different ball game when you're when you work on when you primarily weight lift and then you go over to yoga because you're like so strong you're so stable you can hold all the postures and you're not shaking you're not like I feel like I used to do hot yoga and I felt I felt so weak even though I was doing it doing it
Starting point is 00:15:38 every day I wasn't like strong so I was so like proud of myself in this last class because I was just like killing it I can do all the binds all the like extra things where they're like oh it's if you want to go upside down right now like do it and I'm like upside down I'm doing the it's just like so fun I think one of my favorite things about fitness and like you know health or whatever. It's just like seeing what your body's capable of. And like, and it's like fun when it's, it's capable of a lot. Like when you're actually able to be flexible and strong and do yoga, like the full, full on like pretzel way, like it's fun. It's like, it's great. So, um, but what I'm getting to is, and I don't know if this was like, because my traps were popping out the whole
Starting point is 00:16:28 time because something I'm trying to tone down by the way are my traps from lifting because whatever they're just like on display right now so I'm trying to like but anyways during the class I was like looking in the mirror I'm in the front row the instructor's right there and I'm like my traps are just like my neck everything looks so tense up there so long story short I'm in my shavasana right is that what it's called shavasana when you're on your back why does that sound weird shavasana oh I know shavasana um and it's the end of the class my favorite part of the class is when they hand you hand you the little eucalyptus eucalyptus towel and uh the cold eucalyptus towel and you're in your shavasana you're just like chilling and then they come
Starting point is 00:17:16 do like some sort of the instructor will do some sort of like like pull on your legs or push down on your shoulders or something some sort of like adjustment thing and okay we get in our shavasana I get my little towel everyone gets their towel I can tell you he's like passing them around and then it's time for like the little like adjustment thing and tell me why he was on my neck for a good two minutes giving me a full-on shoulder massage neck massage turning my neck like lifting up my head like pushing down on the top of my like uh you know when you go to a massage and they like push down on the top of your like right above your forehead and they like put i got a full-on like upper neck head massage and i was just like did i pay extra for this with my class
Starting point is 00:18:08 pass like i don't think this was tacked like i know this is not this is not it just felt long and i felt um i was like is he doing this to everyone so then i was like wait that was a little weird and then I was like okay wait let me like kind of lay here and just like see in my peripheral if he's like going around doing this to everyone nope class ended he went and sat down did his little like namaste speech and then that was it and I was like okay like was he being nice because he could tell how tense my neck was and how how much my traps were popping out or was that like um what was that you know it was kind of one of those things I was like I called Courtney I like, I kind of felt uncomfortable. Like he was staying on my neck for a little too long
Starting point is 00:18:49 and it felt great by the way. Like it was nice. Um, but yeah, it's just cool to be in that class and be like, damn, I'm, I'm strong and I'm fit and I can, I can do this. And it's, it's exciting. Like I, I get, damn, like if I could inspire anyone right now to like go and I don't know where you're at with your fitness journey but like it's fun when you're on the other side where you're not like you don't really like you don't you're already fit and then you can kind of like dial it in and get even more fit if that makes sense um there's like different levels to it once you're already fit it's like that's how I think of like pro athletes and what they do there's just like you can keep bettering yourself and your body and so it's exciting same with
Starting point is 00:19:41 pilates oh my god I'm in lagree pilates fucking love lagree pilates it's been I haven't done that I've taken a couple classes in San Diego but it's been like probably like three plus years since I mean I've officially been here for six years so yeah I'm gonna put it at three years three or four and um oh my god that is such a mind fuck wait a minute 2020 no four years ago no how I moved here in 2018 wow wow okay that's just so weird to think about 2020 was for it's like a an entire high school career I was like a freshman in 2020 sophomore in 21 a junior in 22 wow 23 wait 21 I'm so confused right now time is just weird and this yeah everyone says everyone's like it's such a weird time everything's so weird right now like look who's running for president like how did we
Starting point is 00:20:36 get here with our economy and like what's happening with social media and the youth of our country it's just like it's a mess and everyone likes to rehash the same conversation and I'm just like hey I'm all about creating your best life and focusing on your like just what you can control and prioritizing that and being positive and grateful around your own bubble you know think about it obviously it's like good to like care about the world events and things but if everyone did that I think this world would be a better place and I'm a big advocate of that like um that's kind of why a podcast as you know it's like my mental everyone it's like such a Joe Rogan Joe Rogan type thing to say it's like my mental gym but I truly believe I'm a better person
Starting point is 00:21:26 because I podcast it's turned me it's it's like helped me become a better version of myself over the years so um yeah but the neck massage back to that so that was kind of weird but um I will be going back tonight though I don't know if he's the instructor but I'm like excited I'm like wait hot yoga is like hard but it's like it's like it's addicting I love getting addicted to exercise like like a new thing you know that's how it first was when I went to I could do an entire podcast right now by the way didn't I say last week I'm like oh my god like watch me turn up on my wedding day like I'm in my I'm just I'm gonna be so zenned out I'm gonna be so like yogied out my whole brand is gonna change to like I'm gonna have what's like a classic yogi thing like I'm just gonna
Starting point is 00:22:16 of look like I smell like incense or something do you ever have you ever okay growing up there was always that house with like the granola mom or like the dad and the mom were like they always had like African decor stuff like and then it just smelled it smelled like no you know what it smells like turmeric and I'm not saying the like they're white people though this is like a white people home I'm thinking of and the mom's really into like dehydrating fruit in her dehydrator and like I don't know it's just a vibe it's like very like and there's lots of plants everywhere and definitely there's cats there's definitely cats and it just has like an alternative feel when
Starting point is 00:23:13 you're there and it smells a certain type of way and like every time you eat their food it just tastes it tastes like it's from it's like healthy I don't know what I'm going into I'm thinking of something very specific by the way um but yeah yoga Pilates cool we cover that I lost my camera my filming camera for my podcast I took it to Corey's parents house for the wedding weekend because I was like oh we'll take nice pictures with this and um I don't know if you could hear that I was just getting a phone call but I lost it and then I long story short I found it how great of a life update cool um we bought a grill it's grill season it's summertime we bought a grill we've been talking about grilling since I met Corey because he loves to grill we used to
Starting point is 00:24:08 live in an apartment where we couldn't grill and so now we have a grill it's amazing we've been grilling like every night and yeah I mean we went with the Weber we went with the Weber grill and it was this toss-up between like do we want because there's different different prices for each one and oh my god sorry getting like spam phone called um sorry it's really throwing off my flow right now it's not Corey so if it was Corey I'd answer but anyone other than Corey during my podcast doesn't get that treatment sorry love you sorry um but yeah we went with like the highest end one because it had a so this is what I want to know like you can send me a dm you can if you're a griller out there if you're a grill daddy out there a girl mommy whatever you
Starting point is 00:25:06 are we went with the the the only one that had the side burner was the most expensive one and I was like wait that might be nice to like make a sauce while you're grilling or like stir fry vegetables or boil corn or i was like i was literally we're standing in home depot and i'm literally like on reddit on like a barbecue reddit where people are talking about like the pros and cons of having a side burner i'm talking about like you've got the main grill you lift open the the thing and then you have on the side you have the burner okay my phone's blowing up i gotta send a text. I'm podcasting. Sorry. This is real time. Podcasting call you later. Um, so yeah, you guys know what I'm talking about. It's on the side of the barbecue. It's like, but I was
Starting point is 00:26:12 talking to Courtney. I'm like, you know what? Growing up, we never had that. Like we never had a side burner and we were fine you know we just take a what we'd cook on the kitchen stove and we'd have that and then we'd like take whatever's on that out to the grill if we needed to or on the table outside like it wasn't a big thing but then I was thinking wait we used to cook a lot of oysters growing up that's like mostly what we'd barbecue and I thought maybe it'd be nice to have some melted butter you know sitting on that little side burner while you're I don't know anyway so we got a girl he loved like I'm like damsel in distress I don't I mean do I know how to grow fuck yeah I know how to grow uh briquettes smokers uh propane you need a refill on the
Starting point is 00:26:58 propane I know where to go I know how to get it do I do I do I do I choose what do I choose to be what is it called uh what is that what what is the thing women say about men like they like do it's called weaponized incompetence. There's a term for everything. I choose weaponize. I choose to be incompetent, weaponize around the girl with Corey. Cause like something, okay. This is like a little tip for the, for the girls, for the girlies, like just, it's all about like, I mean, you don't have to do this like a hundred percent of the time. Oh my God. my phone is just so blowing up you guys this is wedding planning stuff I I love the planning of it like or I misspoke I don't necessarily love the planning of it but but like it's been a lot
Starting point is 00:27:53 in the last couple weeks and I just want to like throw my phone against the wall right now so this is like real time I'm getting spam texted and like I just it's too much I need to like silence my notifications because there's just so many little like mosquito things to take care of um anyways oh my god my apple watch is buzzing my phone's on mute my my macbook is showing me notifications I'm triggered go go go away this is how I get this is how I get you do remember last week I talked about how like I talked about that um tiktok I watched about this girl that was like what's the disease called for what's the diagnosis for when you like get overwhelmed by emails and calls and texts all day and like what's that called and this guy was like dude that's it's
Starting point is 00:28:41 this is not a natural thing for humans to be like spam texted 25 times and called five times in a row by the same person like this isn't natural like do you know what I mean so like don't feel guilt or bad about reacting this way like me throwing my apple watch off and like silencing my phone right now like this is a normal response it just I feel smothered and it's like too much so anyways, what was I talking about? We got a grill. Oh, weaponized incompetence. Yeah. Like, I don't know how to go, honey. I texted him. I said, I married him. I literally was like, honey, I marinate, marinated a bunch of chicken. So you can teach me how to grill when you get home. And I sent him a picture of the Ziploc bag full of marinated chicken. I made a homemade
Starting point is 00:29:26 marinade, lots of, lots of Worcestershire sauce, lots of, lots of Worcestershire sauce. uh do you want me to tell you the recipe right now or should I save that for the trad wife portion of this um because we'll get into that in a bit but yeah I sent him a picture of chicken marinating in a bag and I said honey like basically like I can't wait for you to come home and teach me how to use the girl you know girls just do that sometimes you know what I mean just like don't play stoop. Corey calls it playing kitten. They just like men like to show you how to do things they like to. And so don't cut them off during that process. Don't overstep. Don't be like, cause sometimes, you know what, here's what I've learned. Cause I do it. I've the thing
Starting point is 00:30:16 about me is the way I grew up and just like the ruggedness, the lifestyle I lived, the camping, the farming the prairie life it's really it really wasn't like that but like tinges of that you know cutting down Christmas trees in my the Christmas tree farm and picking strawberries out the fields and blah blah blah bucking hay and shit so I know a lot of stuff but I what I'm saying is what I've learned is like if a man's trying to teach you how to do something even though you think you know how to do everything you know you technically don't need to be shown sometimes you learn a little tip you didn't know and so that's why I'm very open to like if he wants to show me how to you know run a grill or work in appliance or whatever he's trying to show
Starting point is 00:31:04 me change a light bulb like I might learn a tip so just be open to that and don't be so like know it all and like oh honey no because they then they're like oh damn it like they want they want to they want a dumb girl that doesn't know anything so they can teach her everything you know what I mean no not I mean tinges of that it's okay that's the thing like I I'm kind of a dumb blonde at heart like not kind of like I'm he calls me that like he calls me oh my little blonde like because he's he's like oh because he'll be like what's 21 plus four or some shit and I'll I'll have to like if I pause for more than one second he looks at me like I have like you can't do math but like sometimes I milk it and I like act stupid just because he
Starting point is 00:31:59 makes him laugh so just yeah let your man teach you things if he wants to show you how to like hit a golf ball and you've never that's a thing like let it if you know how to swing a golf club like really well and you're on a first date and the guy's like and just be like oh I just got started I'm still learning you know I've been practicing my swing but I'm not very good yet just like let him show you how to do it and then just wow him with a beautiful swing you know so anyways that's my little tip um let's see here bought a grill we're grilling chicken we're girl and steaks we're um we're gonna have father's day here which is coming up um i don't personally get hyped up for that but cory's got a dad here so what day is father's day i feel like it's
Starting point is 00:32:47 is it this weekend um i don't know uh lost my camera that was such a dumb update i got it back we anyways long story short we're like did someone at the party steal this but we're like looking at the guest list where like no one could have stolen like it's not that kind of crew it's not that kind of group of people so um oh uh Jimmy so we I told you I think last week that we have a skunk in our neighborhood a skunk we have a skunky and we call Mr. Skunky actually we named him Earl the skunk my sister named him Earl shout out Julia hi I know you're listening because my whole family listens to every episode i post and it's fucking wild and i love saying that out loud because like that's something i'm proud of when your own family's invested and cares
Starting point is 00:33:38 and is entertained by your podcast that is so crazy i don't know why i'm like wait if my sister had a podcast would i listen to i guess maybe i would i don't know um we have a skunk earl the skunk mr skunk he got within i'm gonna say five feet of jimmy across the fence yesterday and i have never screamed for i screamed so loud to get him to come back but that was a close close call because and we don't have tomato juice on hand because i guess you have to bathe your i've never been sprayed by a skunk but i guess you have to like bathe in tomato juice for like seven days and it takes forever to get the stench out I don't know it can be toxic for dogs so anyways he got super close to the skunk this skunk is getting a little too close for comfort
Starting point is 00:34:27 I actually believe I think the skunk is now entering our property it's getting through the fence it's it's crawling over the fence I don't know what it's doing but the other day uh the smell was coming from under under the deck and I was like oh fuck it's so strong and it's right by the house like I know this thing is just like under the deck somewhere and then lo and behold I let Louie out later in that day thinking oh the skunk probably left nope just barking up a storm under the deck and I was screaming Louie get your ass in here they listen the best thing about the dogs is like their recall is 10 out of 10 like they they listen um but yeah so that's a skunk update it did have a baby so there's a baby skunk and a mama skunk Earl the mom and I think
Starting point is 00:35:13 we're calling the baby timmy but anyways and in the other life updates with the dogs oh my god this is a good transition i'm like okay um sorry for getting all frazzled with my phone and the notifications but like that is a i i'm not gonna cut that out because that that's like a real life like like me getting triggered with texts and phone calls and like that's how i actually get like i'm not i just i sometimes i'm just like write me a letter and put it in the mail no i'm kidding that's extreme i'm actually really easy going about it i guess when i'm in the mode and mentally i'm like seeing texts come in and i'm also trying to like hold a conversation with you guys it's like hard to like it's like not good to have my notifications on during this but
Starting point is 00:36:02 i don't like when my phone gets blown up um, by like multiple phone calls in a row by the same person, plus a voicemail, plus 52 texts. It's like, there's just do less, you know, like just I texted, I'll call you back. It's just a lot. So, um, anyways, so the dog park, I've been taking the dogs to the dog park and we have a beautiful dog park here. San Diego, San Diego is full of some of the best dog parks in my opinion, but, um, cause it's got the beach and it's got the, the vibes, the SoCal vibes. But anyways, I had a situation with a man at the dog park who ripped, reamed me a new asshole. And he basically said, cause so the long story short is there's like a gate to get into the
Starting point is 00:37:10 dog park. You've probably seen this before where there's like a section where like you walk your dog in and then there's another gate you open to get them into the park. There's not just like one gate. There's like two gates just for safety and security for the dogs, you know? So I let the Jimmy and Louie off their leashes and they're excited. You know, they're at the dog park. They know they're here and Louie just starts going crazy he starts running around and jumping around and stuff and there's dogs there he's sniffing and whatnot but this guy was standing yeah he was standing he was standing kind of off to the side of the front gate and Louie just like bumped into him okay he wasn't in a in a full sprint because this has happened to me before where you get
Starting point is 00:37:54 sideswiped by a dog in a full sprint Louie wasn't in a full sprint you know charging the guy bumping him over you know it wasn't like that it was just like a little bulldog because Louie's not a very big bulldog he's he's a small bulldog we call him a big Frenchie because he's so petite for being an English bulldog and anyways he jumped up and like bumped this guy okay he the guy the man was like oh my god my leg oh my god and I'm like oh I'm so sorry I'm so sorry and then I like grabbed Louie and I got him away and I started walking off and he's like can you hear me because I had my headphones in of course I could hear him and I just ignored that can you because I knew oh god this is gonna escalate I go oh fuck me can you hear me and I and I just did
Starting point is 00:38:39 one of those like I take my headphone and I just kind of and I go yeah and he goes you need to control that fat fucking dog and you need to get him out of here and I just I can't repeat what he said because it was like too perfect because he was fat and short and I almost wanted to be like are you talking about he goes you need to get that that fat shit under control and learn how to uh handle your dog and get him out of here and I just want to be like you're talking about yourself I don't know because he was a fat he was a fat fuck himself a fat short fuck and I just and he was having a bad day he immediately grabbed his poodle and left the dog park in his silver range rover and that's just perfect you know and but I you know what like people choose
Starting point is 00:39:23 violence and you're just like come on man like that was he by the way he said something about how he tore his muscle and his leg or something like his calf muscle he's like oh I I literally it was like I tore my ACL your dog just like took out my ACL and I have to go to the hospital it was like so dramatic he walked away perfectly like he was just having a bad day so anyways that's the update for the dog park or about the dog park. Also, I have to kind of watch Louie because he gets so possessive with the ball where I kind of have to like keep him away from the other dogs because he doesn't know how to share and he doesn't, he can't handle it if another dog has his ball. So, and he steals all the other dogs balls the whole time. So it's been fun. The
Starting point is 00:40:10 dogs are, they're doing good. Um, okay. Back to what else is going on? Oh, um, we were in the car on the way home from the gym was it yesterday and I saw that the jeweler called I know his first name and it says jeweler after his first name I'm not gonna say his name but it's like so and so and then jeweler and Corey acted a little weird and I and I'm like I'm I'm like wait a minute we've talked about my wedding band like I know I'm getting a wedding band I know I'm like that's not weird for the jeweler to call because I know about this and we've talked about it and I'm we've talked about your ring and it's not okay like and I'm like my birthday is in a month is like something from the jeweler for my birthday you're trying because he was like oh bad timing
Starting point is 00:41:04 because when that jeweler number popped up on the the screen in the car he goes he just acted so weird so I think I might be getting something for my birthday I don't know I don't know what Corey can't he loves being Santa Claus like he loves gifting he loves surprising me by the way did I tell you guys this he replaced my Apple Watch because literally I complained about it one time I was like uh my Apple Watch is like not charging and it's like dying or whatever next thing I know I get a phone call a typical phone call from him at lunchtime and he's like honey I'm coming home real quick real quick I have to grab something bring it back to the office I was like, okay, cool. Shows up with a new Apple watch in a box. And I go like, he loves doing
Starting point is 00:41:49 that kind of thing. Like he he's so good at surprises and just like little gestures like that. And, um, that's another tip. Like those little things are meaningful and don't get too comfortable in a relationship where you like, forget to do those little things because, um, like I work, I, I think when you settled down, you move in with someone, you've been dating, We've been together for two years. Like, yeah, you get in a rhythm, you get in a pattern, but I, I, we're all about being consistent. That's our number one word in our relationship. And I think that consistency with what you did at the beginning is so vital to like keeping everything alive and great. and just and so like you know he still gets me flowers he still like surprises me with little gifts he still you know does little things like that we write little notes we do all these little cute things that we used to do in the beginning and we don't stop and it's just like part of the
Starting point is 00:42:49 yeah it's like our yeah so I'm just thinking about his gift right now for his birthday the big four four zero. This year is a lot. I've talked about it so long, so many times, but like turning 30, bought a house, getting married. It's like, Oh, I got, I got fired. Just, you know, it's one of those years. So yeah, the jeweler called, um, I think that's it for my life updates. Now we can get into the trad wife stuff. Um, because I had a thought and I was like wait a minute this makes so much sense and it's kind of like I kind of have like tips about it too my take on this whole like trad wife conversation happening um let me pull up the video here um it's funny I texted Corey I was like I think we
Starting point is 00:43:50 should learn a Tate McRae Tate McRae dance like she's on tour right now and I'm seeing a bunch of her like tour videos of her dancing on the stage and I'm like wait if Corey and I could like perform a Tate McRae like super sexy pop star dance at her wedding and like obviously film it and post it. Like that's, that would be a moment I feel like for the algorithm to like, I would just love like one, I don't care about fame. I don't care about like all that bullshit. Cause it's not really, it's not really a thing anymore, but like, I think it'd be fun to have a viral video under my belt, like a soup, not 3000 views. I'm talking about like 30 million. Cause we're the couple that dance like Tate McCray at their wedding. I don't know. I just thought about it
Starting point is 00:44:41 Cause I'm obsessed by the way, not in the closet. I'm not going to do this. Cause whenever I get super into an artist, typical me is I'm, I'm low key. I don't like to talk about it. I don't like to be like a fangirl. I don't like to be like, that was me with the Jonas brothers. That was me with one direction. Like no one would ever know. I don't know why I'm that way. I'm like, I just, I get like embarrassed about it or something. Or I think when I was younger, I was embarrassed and that's why I did it but not with Tate McRae Tate McRae is my biggest girl crush right now she is my like she's 20 years old and she's I think the next big pop star for our gender like the next Britney type no one will ever be Britney Spears obviously but she has like the dancing
Starting point is 00:45:29 she's got the singing she's got the stage presence she's got the just the whole vibe the whole way of being is like so pop star and like she just she's got it and she's such a great dancer and I just like I love her energy I love everything about her and I love her dance videos and I would I thought I think so anyways Corey I texted him that and he says yes so stay tuned for our wedding party dance moves or wedding dance floor moves I don't know we have to practice so much like they're like ouch stub my toe hold on I get way too comfortable when I'm podcasting where I'm like flinging my legs around sorry um trad wife time let's do it so I think it's been really interesting to see how shocked people are by the term trad wife and how
Starting point is 00:46:21 they seem to think it's some new way of living like it's some unprecedented new trend like have you seen these millennial and gen z girls they just want to be at home with their kids they want to have husbands and they want to take care of their husbands they want to cook and they want to clean and they want to wear dresses it's insane when in reality it's literally like the oldest lifestyle in the book before this they were just called stay-at-home moms and before that they were just called women but now our society has gone so far in the feminist direction that anybody who wants to live like a little bit old school and a little bit like how women used to live is fringe right like an extremist and i just think about how so many of us since we were little we were
Starting point is 00:46:58 raised in this kind of boss babe feminist society that told us you can be so much more than just a mom you can be so much more than just a wife and so many of us listened and we you know tried to climb corporate ladders and we boss babed so hard now like we're we're a little bit boss babed out and some of us want to go a little bit more back to our roots to our ancestors to the women who came before us and live a little bit more, you know, like they did. Call us crazy, but we like babies. We want to have babies. We want to spend the very few years that we have of them being little with them. We like cooking. We like running a home. We like supporting our husbands and having good marriages. And yes, we also appreciate cute dresses, the audacity. So call them trad wives,
Starting point is 00:47:38 call them stay-at-home moms, call them whatever you want. But just know that no matter how much you try and push the career and the boss babe and the feminist lifestyle onto women there will always be women who naturally want a more traditional lifestyle just like the billions of women who came before us I think it's been really okay so let's talk about it um my first experience or my first not experience exposure to this whole like trad wife freight or like nickname or a trend or whatever was I was listening to a podcast and these women were talking about ballerina farm and I kept hearing about ballerina farm ballerina farm like okay I'll look her up so I looked her up and I'm like oh I get it you know it's very like little house
Starting point is 00:48:25 on the prairie got like seven or eight kids you've you're baking bread all day you're collecting eggs you're milking the cows you're you're homesteading and you're you live out on the farm and you've you're raising babies and I was like oh I get it like I understand the people are enamored by like how she seems unfazed by it all and she can like she just looks so like good at it and it just comes so naturally to her and she's not like stressed out by like having all these babies and also having to like take care of the home and bake all this food all day and like tend to the farm and whatnot so it's but the craziest thing for me and let me get into this like tiktok and what she said because it's very true and obviously we've heard about this whole
Starting point is 00:49:13 like you know boss babe culture and how women now are like seeing with clear eyes how you know exhausted it's making them and how it's not really what they want and so they're going the other way and they're going back to the the housewifey homesteading stuff and blah blah blah like people are definitely talking about it it's a thing and what she said is so true like this is what we've been doing for centuries this is what all of the women that came before us were doing and now it's like we're calling it being a trad wife and it's like a spectacle to see a woman on the internet bake her own bread and collect eggs and raise six or seven or eight babies like because of what we've become as a society of modern day women and working alongside men more than we used to
Starting point is 00:50:05 and whatnot and climbing the corporate ladder like she said so I was thinking about myself though because I'm like where because I'm always I always like to like turn things and point them back at me and go okay like what do what's my take on all this like seeing ballerina farm for example for the first time and going like okay I get it you know she's not Kris Kardashian or whatever like she's not living like that she's out on the farm um she's got a full life and a full lifestyle in a different way than having you know the like Hollywood vibe uh what's it called being a mom in in that kind of world who's also revered and people also look up to like the Kris Jenners and the luxury lifestyle that she and her family live.
Starting point is 00:51:00 And that's a different type of like housewife, wife, mother situation. It's a completely different world she lives in compared to like ballerina farm, who's literally out on the farm, live in a very simple life. Simple but full, right? Like it's all, everyone's doing something different.
Starting point is 00:51:20 There's all different types of ways of, there's so many different like lifestyles you could live in this world and people are doing it every day i mean this is but we're in such a bubble with our reality tv and our yeah our real housewives and our chris jenner's and social media like blogger moms and what they show about like you know they're driving big suvs and shopping on amazon all day and they're in these beautiful big homes and they're making a killing off of affiliate links and they're I don't know whatever but so when you see someone on a farm and you see someone being a trad wife on the internet it's
Starting point is 00:52:12 like huh it's almost like they're Amish and it's like like that it feels like but this is what I'm going back to when I said oh where do I come into this or how do I feel about it I grew up like ballerina farm I grew up like those kids I grew up collecting eggs feeding the animals in the morning before school the animals eat before I eat I grew up with a mom tending to the garden and breaking her back in the sun in the summer like pulling weeds hedging bushes and my dad was there too obviously he was doing other physical labor around the house and I don't know I feel like I grew up in a very modern world with like okay yeah I feel blessed and it's crazy to think about I definitely came from the I'm definitely
Starting point is 00:53:09 on that cusp of like I've seen the before and after of like technology kind of happen um because you know we'd have we we had our family computer at the desk that you go to to be on the computer and go to the internet and then we had eventually we all got our own little computers because my dad was really techie and he liked to like he set us all up with our own little Macintoshes and we connected them we had like our own network we could play games against each other through our bedrooms which is cool that was like eventually we got computers then obviously in high school I got a cell phone so like all of my my experience with technology was like a slow drip and then it exasperated once I got to college when I got on Instagram and then all the other social media apps
Starting point is 00:53:51 rolled out the vines the TikToks the YouTube whatever YouTube's been around but you get the idea and now we're talking about AI in the future and flying cars and whatnot so um but I grew up out there where that's it's so crazy because here's what I'm saying here's what I'm saying. I, okay. And I also want to talk about like an experience I had when I first moved to San Diego and being a trad wife, because I had a thought that was so like, I thought about it and I was like, Oh damn, that's actually something I ought to share. So like I said, I grew up in a simple farm life environment, but also modern. And it's not like we are fully like living off the land okay we shopped at Costco we went to basketball camps or like what am I saying like we
Starting point is 00:54:43 we were like you know public school we went to go to private school as well like whatever um but I did those like farm things and so now when people are enamored by it and they're like or mesmerized by this whole like ballerina farm thing or trad wives on um yeah and I grew up baking with my mom and my grandma, my aunts. And like, it was just like what you did. There wasn't like a mystique about it. It was just like, this is what we do, you know? So yeah, but I think as we, okay. It's not like I, let's make a round thought, Jacqueline, you can do it. Hold on. Let me take a sip. Because of where I grew up, I grew up in Mount Vernon, Washington in the Skagit Valley, an hour North of Seattle, an hour South of Vancouver, BC, right there in the Valley.
Starting point is 00:55:41 That's where I grew up. Okay. When I got in high school, I started, uh, watching, had a Mac book and I hid in my bedroom a lot. And I was kind of like, you know going through it in high school a little bit there and just home stuff and school stuff and personal stuff with me and blah blah blah blah and I had my little macbook and I started watching the hills okay and I remember watching the hills and I think that's when I first got the bug the California bug where I was like oh like this looks fun like oh these this is like I'd love to like California is so like glamorous and cool. And like, look at these girls and like, look at Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. And, uh, who's the other chick? Uh, I can't think I'm brain dead right now.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Lauren, Heidi, Audrina, you know? So I was like balls deep watching the Hills. Like, so like it just in all of California. And so it's not like, so here's what I'm saying is then I started following people that live that kind of California lifestyle and then it was like I'm watching the Kardashians I'm following Kylie and Kendall on Instagram and Kim and I'm following the Kardashians and their lifestyle it's not like I started following immediately like I live in Mount Vernon Washington and I just kept following the ballerina farm types and that's what I looked up to and that's what I was like wow about I was more wow about the Southern California glamorous lifestyle shit that now I kind of live you know what I mean like I've been so far removed from my
Starting point is 00:57:13 farm life I've lived here six years I was in college before that in a college town not on the farm or anything like that and so yeah and when I go home it's like it feels so simple and so like like um so foreign where I grew up most of my life living that way you know and it's just interesting because whatever you pay attention to is like what's that quote like you become or whatever you think about you become or you blah blah it like forms you it shapes your brain it shapes what you how you see the world and so I think a lot of us when we see ballerina farm and collecting the eggs and nursing her eight babies and making the bread and doing what she's doing it's we're so like oh my god about it because most of the people we follow because of
Starting point is 00:58:00 because of how addicted we all are to like consumerism and shiny objects and wealth and lifestyle and glamorous stuff because we're all following those kinds of people so when we see the Valerie farm we're just like whoa it's so different and it's so like simple and like she it's all about materialistic shit and so again back to the original TikTok with the trad wife thing I just think it's really interesting because she's back and the whole conversation around like corporate boss babying and you know boss babying hard and then burning out and whatnot um I'm learning a lot about myself or I definitely have throughout um my 20s I'm turning 30 in a month holy shit but something that is so apparent to me is how natural being a trad wife is to me
Starting point is 00:59:03 how I my default setting as a woman as a woman I don't know how why I had to make it like as a woman but my default setting is trad wife my I go into if my factory reset option or whatever or if I was put back to the fat in the fat, what am I saying? I would be a trad, like that is how I would come out. That's my, that's my like, not to no pun intended, like my bread and butter, my homemade bread and butter. Like, um, and, and the reason I'm saying this and the thought I had is because clearly I couldn't do the corporate thing. You guys all saw me get fired a month ago. I talked about how corporate was killing me and how I my soul was being sucked and I it's just not for me like I think there are a lot of women out there that can do it all and they can
Starting point is 01:00:00 do the nine to five and the corporate thing and they love it and they love like climbing the corporate ladder and I'm I think that works like for some people it works I I can only speak to myself and my experience and like how I feel about the whole thing because it personally doesn't for me and like I said my default setting is trad wife because like I would find myself being so much more stimulated happy and fulfilled doing like chores throughout the day or running errands or baking food or making cooking food or baking cookies or whatever and like going to TJ Maxx to like get some cute placemats and shit for the new table and like taking care of the dogs, bringing them to the park. Like I've during my corporate job years, my remote corporate job,
Starting point is 01:00:51 like those kinds of activities made me feel so happy. And I would on days where I was really stressed out by work, like I would fall back on the housewifey stuff. And it just felt so much better to do that than um and it made me it lit me up more than yeah like sitting up sitting on a spreadsheet all day do you know what I mean and so I go okay is this programming is this society telling you that you're supposed to like no it's like it's how I it's just how I work right and here's the thought I want to share with you because and there's a reason why I can I feel at peace while I do it and that's a really important component to this trad wife conversation is how much of a privilege it is especially with the economy how it how it is now and especially
Starting point is 01:01:41 with yeah like cost of living and the times we're in how if you're in a position in a position where you can be a trad wife and be at ease about it like it's beyond like you're so lucky and I think um and here's what I'm saying so back when I moved to San Diego I unintentionally became a trad wife for the first year now I wasn't a wife I wasn't married I was in a short-term relationship it turned into turned into something uh it lasted a year but during that initial phase of dating someone moving in with him and whatnot I had this thought because I'm like I immediately took on the role of housewife and chef and and I was 23 okay and I was also like I didn't I was naive and I was definitely like
Starting point is 01:02:41 doing way too much for a man that wasn't committing to me and you know what I mean like I wasn't aware that this is not like I was getting my worth through being a trad wife for example that's how I felt good about myself like doing things for this man organizing his closet buying his groceries cooking him meals three square meals a day baking him whatever cookies he wanted like grocery shopping for him cleaning his home like planning his trip like doing all this stuff like I've got my worth through that and it was like a drug because I got got the compliment and oh my god I've never met a woman like you and oh my god you do it all oh my god and I've gotten this my whole career dating like men just this is what they this is
Starting point is 01:03:21 the uh the appeal one of the sides of me that they're obsessed with is the fact that I'm just like such a good I'm so wifey you know or whatever like but I've learned my lessons through doing that with the wrong people where they are basically using you and you know it's different now like me and Corey now it's a different type of dynamic and it's a lot more healthy and loving and I'll get into that but I realized something that first month I moved to San Diego I moved moved in with a man after like literally 30 days I was already in his in his place being wifey acting wifey and I thought about something because this man basically told me not basically he told me I got you I'll take care of you 100% I got you I'm gonna take care of you and you have to worry about a
Starting point is 01:04:15 thing for the entire year I didn't have to worry about a thing and and I think because of that I just naturally was like when you're so what my point is this when a man is fully providing for you and you don't have to worry about pulling your weight to pay the bills it's so like being a trad wife just is a natural I feel like that just naturally it like it feels so natural to fall into that because you're like he's got he's taking he's providing he's got the finances locked down I don't have to worry in that department and I can just be a woman in the home and I can just relax and I can just be feminine and and I can do these things all day and not feel guilty about it I can feel I can take care of myself well I can like in that time I was
Starting point is 01:05:09 you know I could do my workout I did Pilates and yoga during that time too a little bit actually just Pilates but you know I could do a Pilates class I could like go get groceries at 2 p.m like I could do whatever I wanted and I was like being taken care of and so what I'm saying is that I feel like what did I write down let me I'm like stay on task here sorry um yeah I feel like you I naturally kind of fell into that role because I recognized that everything was being taken care of financially so I didn't feel this like anxiousness when I was cleaning the house or cooking for him or whatever about like okay but I also have to go work right now and I also have to like because if you're doing if you're doing the trad wife and the full-time
Starting point is 01:05:56 thing I'm sorry like there's the my opinion is this if you and your man are both working full-time and it's a 50-50 situation where you're both splitting everything and that's just the way it is then it's also 50 50 i i'm not i'm all about like equity in the home and i and like equitable um partnerships where if that's the case like you should not be the one doing 99 of the chores in the housework and taking care of the home like either he's got to hire a maid or you do or whatever figure that out because i think women it always falls more on women just naturally i think that's what we're just that's just the way it is especially when you have kids um so so yeah be aware of that um yeah but I'm just saying if you're all if you're I think I naturally fell
Starting point is 01:06:57 into that role of like trad wife I'm just saying using that term because that's like the the trending word right now is trad wife because I noticed like everything's being taken care of I didn't I didn't lift a finger I didn't pay for a thing I'd invoice his fucking accountant or whoever was taking care of the money how much I was spending on our home and the groceries every month and I was reimbursed I was never had I never had to lift a dime and so I think yeah because of that what I'm saying is it I felt so and I will say this I was exhausting myself for a man that didn't want love me or want to commit to me or any of that and I was just like that was learning less than like hey you know do it for the right man like don't do it you know and don't do it to
Starting point is 01:07:42 try to like keep a man around and like oh well like if I the more I do the more he'll stay with me and stay around or because he can't live without me because that's what he would always say and men always would say that to me oh I can't oh I just I don't know what I would do without you I didn't know how I was living before you it's because and what you learn through that is that you're doing everything for someone your everything is about other people it's about them and then you forget to take care of you and that's when I mentally declined so as the year went on yes I was still being the trad wife and still taking care of everything and da da da da but I wasn't prioritizing myself where now I've learned the lesson of like you come first your mental health
Starting point is 01:08:18 your mental health your physical health all of that is number one then be a trad wife then take care of the home and do all those things you innately like love doing and want to do for the man and the home and the family and whatnot so um but yeah I just thought about how like I'm 23 I just moved to a new city I move in with a guy who will fully take care of me and all I wanted all I and I just was like I'm I loved it I was just like so happy like honestly like I loved I was just being a housewife a live-in girlfriend house whatever you want to call it at the time. Like, and it, and I was like, damn, like, this is it. And I think because of that experience. And also I went into San Diego, literally I took up a secretarial job. I took
Starting point is 01:09:07 whatever job would hire me first. Like I, I wasn't here to build my career and to like climb the corporate ladder. I wasn't, I was here for a lifestyle and I was here for like, how do I want to live? You know? And when I, that was a great year for many reasons. It was a horrible year in a great year at the same time. There's a lot of lessons and hard lessons throughout that entire time there. But, um, I think it showed me that when I'm happiest, I'm not working like a, an intense job. Um, and that's okay to, I think more women, if they're in my therapist, she tells me like, it's really important especially as you mature and you know you're in your 20s maybe you're
Starting point is 01:09:56 ending your 20s going into your 30s it's don't let time pass you by it where so to the point where you're going through the motions of life and you're not you're never sitting down and like getting present with yourself and being honest about what you want I'm all about that and I've talked to a lot of people and something that gets slips people up all the time all the time with me I'll they'll be telling me about their problems their life their struggles and then I stop them in their tracks and I ask them what do you want simply what do you want and they can't answer it a lot of people can't answer what they want they don't know what they want because they haven't spent that time with themselves they haven't gotten
Starting point is 01:10:40 present and in their body and thought about what do I want and don't feel guilty about it don't feel shame about it don't should yourself don't do any of that just be honest with yourself and real and I think because I have done that because I have been super even though it was four almost four years in the corporate world here that I just got fired from even though I did that thing and I it served me for that time of my life and sure you know I it was good for my career growth and my resume sure um I never lost sight of what I truly wanted and it's what I'm doing now so I get what I want and I in this year or in this summer or what's the Megan Foxcoat I get what I want and this year I want Jordan um no and I I I think that's how
Starting point is 01:11:36 that's how you live a good life like you just stay true to who you are what you want be authentic like don't yeah and so back to the trad wife thing let's stay on the topic like I want to be a podcast host I want to be a boss babe at my podcast and I want to be a trad wife like straight up and a mom and a white like the whole thing because that is what makes me happy and happy wife happy life happy you happy life like if you're miserable it's life is I'm just so big on like life is I don't want to say life's too short but I've just learned that it's not life doesn't have to be hard life doesn't have to be a struggle life does not have to be a misery and stress and blah it doesn't it can be happy and fulfilling and peaceful and all of those things
Starting point is 01:12:28 you just have to build it and you have to stay true to like what you want and make whatever you do even if it feels so so out of reach even if if it feels like an impossible thing a goal or whatever a lifestyle you want to live it's just like it's cliche as it sounds it's like just do one thing every day to get you closer to it just do think of one task or one thing you could do to move you one percent closer to it and for me I think my biggest decision was like location like getting myself to the location I wanted to live and then creating the life and meeting people along the way and like you know getting to where I am now so so yeah that's kind of my spiel on the trad wife but I'm not done we're not done um yeah so if you're okay this is just my opinion
Starting point is 01:13:24 again in my experience if you're okay number my number one okay my mindset around the whole like stay-at-home mom trad wife live-in girlfriend whatever you want to call it whatever the definition or there's so many different versions of it but like trad wife let's just stay on that um so my opinion about that is I think it's great and all okay but you need to have your own shit going on somehow and so I'm a firm believer in like and I said earlier like you can't be a nine-to-five corporate baddie boss babe and a trad wife but we are in such an an an amazing we are in an amazing time right now where women can be at home earning a very high income while also being a stay-at-home mom trad wife and or whatever stay-at-home girlfriend what
Starting point is 01:14:27 did I say so my recommendation is to build an online business now like if you truly want to be and in the home and not work the court in the corporate world, I think something to take seriously is like, okay, that's all well and good. And sure. My man could take care of me. And I'm saying in general, I don't think I'll ever talk about, I mean, you could probably assume or guess or whatever. I'm not, not talking about me personally. I'm talking about like in general people. Like if you notice that your man, if you notice something I noticed one day, no, if you can be fully taken care of financially don't just like bank on that because you know what I don't know if you've looked around but divorce has happened people break up uh yeah
Starting point is 01:15:17 nothing truly nothing lasts forever eventually even if you're married until you're 100 like one of you is going to die before the other person so like nothing lasts forever and so just be I think smart about that as a woman as a woman like have your own shit going on I'm big fan of that I'm not a fan of like putting all your eggs in one basket with a man and his finances and calling it good like you need to I think it's also good for your mind and your personal development and your social battery your social life having a group of women who also work in the field you work or whatever it is okay but have your own shit going on number one now but and don't compete with your man okay it's not all about like you have to make as much money as
Starting point is 01:16:04 he does and blah blah blah but if um let's say you're starting to date someone this is my opinion if you're okay if you're like me who's like I want to be a wifey housewifey trod wifey I want to bake the bread and take care of the home and make it cute all day and like take care of the kids and like feed the chickens and also have my podcast um then that's not all about like that's not that doesn't have a big um what am I saying oh my god I can do it here let me get back to what I was saying if you're I'm just talking about people like if you're like me because I can only again talk about what I want and my own thoughts around this maybe you're like I don't want a man I don't want that trad wife lifestyle I want to be
Starting point is 01:16:51 independent I want to live alone I want to or have relationships and not settle down ever and just whatever okay cool that could be you too maybe this isn't for you but maybe okay whatever um or maybe you're like I want to be 50 50 and I want to have you know everything split and I want it to be equal like that great cool what I'm saying is if you're dating if you first start dating a guy and you're there's some like you can pick up pretty quickly you can kind of feel them out without fully like asking for their banking banking information but um anyways if there's like this energy when you start maybe moving in together or god I wouldn't get to that point I would make sure this you could this is clear kind of okay here's my tip tell them straight
Starting point is 01:17:44 up that you don't want to work don't be a little like about that no be honest like if eventually you're like I want to be a stay-at-home mom and a wife and I want to run this house and I don't want to have to work and provide for our family like be honest like I don't care how far along you are in dating like get that out of get that off the table quickly because they're if that if they're not going to be able to do that it's not going to work out because you're always going to feel this energy there's always going to be this energy hanging where you're going to feel like you have to pull your weight to pay the bills and that is going to suck your soul if that's not what you really want that's going to kill like you're not it's not going to work out and you're going
Starting point is 01:18:28 be miserable and you're not going to be you're not going to be happy so I don't think there's anything wrong going to meeting a man and being like straight up I want to be taken care of and I want to have also my own thing going on but I don't want it to be like if I don't like kill at my own business with flying colors that uh we're not going to have water next month like do you know what I mean so be really honest about that don't be shy about it and I think you'd be surprised I think some women are like worried about I could see how maybe some I can't speak for other people but how that might make them look bad or like they're entitled or they're blah blah blah but like you saw you talked to a lot of men I've met a lot of men out there and
Starting point is 01:19:14 again I've dated them where they're like I'd be happy to I'd be happy to take care of you I don't want you to have to worry I got it you know there's a lot of men out there that are like that and so um again don't fall into this like programming of like you know women are equal to we gotta work as hard to I don't know I'm just talking about traditional values and some of the things that I that I brought to our relationship and honestly Corey too because we're very like minded in this way so and it works I'm just speaking about it because it works for us and again when I see the dynamics of trad wives on TikTok and ballerina farm and all these women making content like in a way they're like boss babes because they're like running social
Starting point is 01:20:06 media like a trad a trad actual like homemaker trad wife or whatever isn't the traditional thing is like the man's making all the money and she's she's just at home but now they're content creators and they're also baking bread and they're making money off of their views and their whatever brand deals and they're they're in these creator programs now and it's like they're boss babying and they're like getting interviewed and so i think it's great i love this time of um i love this intersection of like technology and trad wife because we you can definitely you can definitely like get the best of both worlds now where and that's what i love about like having my little podcast and also having this beautiful home like i can have it all i literally have it all i'm like
Starting point is 01:20:52 this is i'm like we just bought a barbecue i have it all like we literally i'm like living the fucking American it's so so weird sometimes where I'm like so many other people are doing this but for some reason the fact that I'm doing it feels like what me a house a fiance a wedding we're planning a barbecue huh like what two dogs like huh how did I get here it's crazy how life just like happens like that and you're just like what the fuck and then it's so great and amazing And, um, yeah, so, um, but again, I really, I'm a big believer. Like if you're dating a guy and the energy's like, he doesn't really have a lot going on career wise. And he seems like he's kind of in transition right now. And he doesn't, he seems unstable. Like, first of all,
Starting point is 01:21:45 I don't think a man should get married to a woman if he can't provide fully provide for her. oh my god that's so extreme but like literally I'm like especially if they want to have kids like I just don't think maybe it's because of what I personally grew up with with like the a working mom and dad and and mostly I don't know I just see how some women it depends on who you are again I think some women can do it all and um I just also think about the kids here's what I'm saying I feel like the reason I say I think a man should be able before he marries a woman to like take care of everything because it's I think about the future kids like if you if you want to have a family those poor kids like I see a lot of like I see a lot of
Starting point is 01:22:36 moguls women that are like super women on the internet with their own brand and podcasts and tv everything they have it all and like they have two little kids under five and they're just with the nanny all day you never see the kid and they are always away from the parents it's just like I just think of the kid from the kid's perspective like I don't know I guess we'll probably have a nanny I'm not saying anything wrong there's nothing wrong with nannies but um I don't know I think kids need their moms and their their dads obviously both I think if the mom could help be with be there when they're baby babies I think that's great so I think we should have a longer maternity leave in this country I think it should be what does like Europe have like
Starting point is 01:23:21 get like six years I don't know so let me know what you think I'm open to feedback I like when you guys send me dms about this like um disagree agree I get a lot of like oh that was such a great episode but I didn't like the part where he said this and I think that's really blah blah blah I'm open to it like I like to um this would obviously be a better conversation if I was sitting across from someone that disagrees with me which honestly it's like come on like we need some guests eventually and I this will always be like my show but I think having interesting conversations with people disagree with that disagree with me would be like so fun I don't want it to be like oh everyone on here is a copycat of me and it's like you're listening to the same person I
Starting point is 01:24:09 my favorite podcasts are when the people are like sparring you know it's and yeah so again I think there's obviously there's no rule book to life on how it should be lived but I think there's a lot of evidence for like women being at their best when they're not overworked and exhausted in the corporate world or boss babying all day and when they're you know tending to home and baking bread and taking care of themselves and braiding their hair and like wearing sundress no i'm kidding but like i think there's a lot of evidence and honestly it's like why are we even talking about this the girl said it in the TikTok like this has been going on for centuries and now we're making it like a big like
Starting point is 01:25:03 oh my god she's a trad wife it's like no this is normal this is normal and I mentioned that last week like a lot of our environment now is so unnatural to like humans like it's so techie and like we're so you know bugged out on our cell phones constantly in our hand all day and it's just like nothing about that is natural so I'll never feel bad about like mentioning something that's traditional and like how it's beneficial and better because um but again like I said there's no rule book there's no but if it works for you works for you just always tune into like what you really want and stand and and be unwavering about it like I love people and that's my number one thing like the best people I know are the most like the most the happiest people I know the
Starting point is 01:25:55 people that are yeah happiest the lightest they're just you see them you talk to them they're just a light are the people that know what they want and they got it and they're doing it they're not and then like it's always the miserable people the people that are complaining and sad and stressed out that are like I don't like what I'm doing and that's the secret sauce to life like if you work a job you like you'll never work a day in your life or if you can turn your passion like you know what's the phrase it's like that's so true though because then it doesn't feel like work you know so for me it's my podcast as you know I'll never shut up about it but for you it might be I don't know
Starting point is 01:26:43 you gotta yeah I would say monetize your trad wife life that's kind of the the gist of what I or that's the moral of the story like yes I'm totally in favor of of trad wifing over boss babying but like also be a boss babe while you try to wife and get that commission or those that affiliate link commission and those brand deals while you trad wife like are you really a trad wife if you're not posting all of your recipes on tiktok like come on it's like modern trad wifing um here's a tiktok about being in a healthy relationship this is the healthy relationship and trad wife episode by the way and i i don't know i just wanted to like read the comments and
Starting point is 01:27:32 talk about my experience because i think it's helpful when you listen to other people talk about like yeah their yeah beginnings of their relationship and like the things that came up that were different or like anyways here you go this is a question for women that are in happy healthy stable relationships or marriages with men right now did you know right away that this was someone that you wanted to be with long term did it feel like a high was it more like a slow burn were you unsure for a long period of time we talk a lot on this app about how men know right away if they want to date someone but I'm really curious about women's perspective especially in like the first six months of dating someone this is a question for okay so let's talk about it um
Starting point is 01:28:17 yeah first comment here it just feels easy no guessing no games no big fights just a person you want to be with who wants to be with you slow burn but feels easy I didn't feel the crazy high that I felt in past relationships I didn't feel the anxiety of knowing if he liked me or not he always made it clear it was a slow burn like sitting in front of a fireplace it gets warmer comfier and more enjoyable the longer you sit yeah so I just I like seeing I don't know like I'm on like relationship in trad wife tiktok right now I just like I just like listening and just I don't know I think I like I like learning about other people's experiences and what they have to say and again I think the root of why I do what I do here is just like my curiosity with
Starting point is 01:29:08 human psychology and how the mind works and why people are the way they are so it's interesting because that comment about how it wasn't the kind of high she felt in her past relationships when she first met someone I would feel or I would say is very reminiscent of like how I felt when I met Corey which was such a mindfuck because I remember like I I've probably talked about this a lot I feel like especially when I first met Corey probably talked about him like non-stop I still talk I mean like come on but I remember being in my past relationships like I was high anxiety all the time not not all the time but there were there were highs where it was like if I knew they were coming over I would have like anxiety like when they show up it wasn't like a relaxation
Starting point is 01:30:06 feeling it was like anxious when they started walking closer to my house I'd like watch them out the window like oh my god they're getting closer like I was like high strung about my ex-boyfriends it was weird it was like this energy of nervousness but not peace and like there was ebbs and flows of that where it was like sometimes I don't know it was like this especially initially like where when I met Corey like I always say like being with Corey feels like i'm sitting in a recliner 24 7 like i'm just like chilling in a recliner i got my tv dinner my i'm kidding it's just so calming and i feel like that's what everyone says like when you're around someone or a lot of the times when people are like i know or how did you know you found the one
Starting point is 01:30:58 or what does it feel like when you're in a healthy situation or blah blah blah they're always like it's like calming you feel at peace it's super comforting and cozy feeling and it's do you know what I mean and so yeah that's how when I met Corey it was just like that like I remember that the word I always bring up for by the way we're getting married in like a few months I can gush as much as I want about him always but like especially now like I'm gonna do it hardcore right now when I met Corey the word that I would describe him as like what what happened when I walked away from that first date was I was like that felt so warm like everything about him was so warm and I just like that's the description I can't like obviously he was funny and he was you
Starting point is 01:31:58 know attractive and all those things were like lined up fine like great wonderful like but the difference with Corey because other guys were funny sure and not as funny as him no one will ever be as funny as Corey period um but yeah they were like attractive and whatnot but they weren't they had this energy that felt like um it kind of scared me a little bit I don't like when a man makes me feel scared like I felt a little more like uneasy like I couldn't just be myself that's the thing like when I met Corey the second I met him I just felt like I could I was relaxed he was very warm and I could just be me and there was no there were never games there was never any like wonder if he liked me or didn't like me he was very like you just know because they're so and
Starting point is 01:32:48 it's mutual like you both are just like I want to see you again and I want to see you again I want to see again and it's never toxic there's no drama there's no like shadiness um also he's 10 years older than me so pro tip uh date older man there's a reason for that um my past lovers no my past the guys I used to date were closer to my age and I feel like men that are like early 30s are not just depends on it everyone's different but like the kind of guys i dated that were in their early 30s were a mess and not ready to go to the distance you know they're you know worried about other things and other women and other fun times so um someone commented here it was a slow burn with anxiety because he was so sure and I didn't know that it could be that simple oh yeah that's
Starting point is 01:33:50 so real like and I've talked about it too like I think I talked about this like three episodes ago I never remember like how many ago but how like when something's really healthy and simple and good and all that like sometimes you're mind fucked by it because you're just so used to the the opposite so um it could be that simple though like literally can be like hi I like you hi I like you great I want to be your boyfriend you want to be my girlfriend great okay cool I love you I love you too oh my god do you want to like live a life together sure yeah you want to move in sure yeah let's do it and hey you want to get married sure fuck yeah let's it's just like it can be that simple um yeah someone put slow burn it took took a while for me to get comfortable with no dramatic
Starting point is 01:34:40 highs and lows blah blah blah most people are saying it was a slow burn oh I love this I knew right away no hesitation it was like a gravitational pull like coming home it's like out of a romance novel but I think what are my like tips for my relationship tips or like how do you decipher who would be a good partner for you or not again you have to know what you want know what you want be honest about that okay but for me it's like it's all about like for me like the banter because like the boxes obviously that need to be checked are like are you physically attracted to them is their chemistry um are they a certain height do they have you know what's their like shoulder width compared to their like what is their oh the side profile he passed the side
Starting point is 01:35:45 profile test like I'm did I ever tell you guys about my side profile test I did on all the guys I ever dated because if you see if you once you see your man's side profile you can't unsee it and if you're gonna wake up to that side profile every day like you better like it because sometimes it can be it can not be it can give you the ick for me and kind of get it has to have like the the vibe from the side of the head needs to match the vibe from the front of the head so like I need a good jawline from the side I just repeat myself but you get it I'm sorry if you have a receding jaw like the plastic surgeons are out there like I don't know that's mean like did you guys see did Zac Efron do something to his jaw
Starting point is 01:36:26 everyone's like he got so much shit there was like a picture that came out but like I recently saw him in a movie trailer and I was like oh my god come on man like you were a good looking guy like what the fuck you know but yeah I make that joke like so anyways they can check all the boxes but for me what was so important was like the banter the humor being on the same wavelength in that department because most of life is not like we're rolling around in bed having crazy sex every it's not that's not that's not the majority of a relationship so if that's the reason you're in the relationship and all the other stuff is kind of like ho-hum because I've had that experience where it's like oh I'm here for the physical but I'm not here for like anything else
Starting point is 01:37:13 then you're not gonna it's not it's just not ideal because I remember like my ex I'm not gonna say who or which one but like they would piss me off or whatever and I would be like oh well you're hot so at least you're pissing me off right now but I'm looking at you and you're good looking and I can just focus on that and not what's coming out of your mouth right now so yeah most of life is I tell Corey this it's like the transitions the walking to the car to go to the gym in the morning the walking into Home Depot to buy the girl like the transitional stuff like sitting in an airport waiting for your flight like walking around with friends on the sidewalk on the way to the movie theater and then like you're good waiting for the uber and whatever
Starting point is 01:38:05 like life is like a lot of that stuff and so if you're with someone that can make those times fun the transitional times like the best thing ever you've found a good like that's awesome like can't recommend that enough because I remember I would go on like a seven hour plus road trip with um my ex and it would just be like dry as hell the music tastes he was he had horrible music taste it sucked I would just sit there and I'm like cool like we're Corey and I like we'll go the set we'll we'll uh we'll go on a road trip and it's like we're not even like maybe we listen to music a little bit but like it's mostly us just like going off and laughing and talking and um that's something too like when you first start dating someone if you find yourself like getting
Starting point is 01:38:47 lost in conversation for hours great sign great sign um yeah these are all things that I I hope that you've experienced and if you haven't um it's out there but just know that like I don't know trying to be all like self-help you today but you have to be so good with yourself first like so like not to say in love with yourself but like literally like you have to be solid to attract another solid person. And I think those are the best relationships. If you're both a mess and you're both broken and you're both like still trying to figure things out and you're not well, it's going to be raw. And it's just, sure. You might go on that healing journey
Starting point is 01:39:44 together, which can be great. I guess you have a partner to do it with, but, um, I think it's best when two healed people come together and I'm I'm pretty sure that's the difference between me meeting Corey versus me meeting the other people because I was still kind of like going through stuff and learning stuff you know what I truly think in my 20s like I learned clearly life's gonna throw me a lot a lot of lessons a lot more lessons I'm just getting started but I definitely like learned a lot of the lessons like the hard lessons there is to learn there are to learn in your 20s like I feel like I've kind of I've seen and done it all a little a little bit okay let's wrap the episode up and I have one last little thing to share with you
Starting point is 01:40:37 for funsies um do I sound melancholy lately is this June gloom getting to me I live in as you know San Diego mentioned it 50 times this episode but every May and June it gets like May gray and June gloomy and so there's a lot of cloud cover and I'm a wilted little flower right now when the sun's not out I like it it just I don't know the lighting like affects me and I don't know I feel like I'm a little bit like melancholy and I'm really not. I'm in a great place. And maybe it's because I didn't hit the gym this morning because sometimes that makes me tired if I don't work out in the morning. Okay. This is a fun segment for you just because I love food. I like talking about food and I thought it was interesting. So these are surprisingly, surprisingly, surprisingly
Starting point is 01:41:32 recently invented foods. Foods invented since World War II that feel older than they are. Believe it or not, we're going to start in the 40s here. Nachos. Nachos came out in 1940. Apple crumble, the 40s as well. Spaghetti carbonara, uh 1944 let me think of it or see if there's something here that's like crazy what are fartons there's a lot of other country countries foods here i don't know hawaiian pizza came out in 1962 um tiramisu 1960s sticky toffee pudding 1960s uramaki 1960s that's just like a picture of sushi so like what um chicken tikka masala came out in the 70s um i don't know i thought this is going to be cooler than it is ciabatta shut up ciabatta came out in 1982 how bubble tea
Starting point is 01:42:45 1980s salmon sushi is that called nigiri salmon nigiri 1980s blended iced coffee yeah we know frappuccino 1980s that's crazy um i'm on this reddit called cool guides should i just like scroll this and not end the episode because a cool guide on speaking to children and honestly adults your words matter instead of be quiet try can you use a softer voice instead of saying what a mess say it looks like you had fun can we clean it up how can we clean it up oh god this is like parenting tips um oh a cool guide on golf shot angles pull hook hook pull fade straight draw push slice push slice cool i don't know is this fun for you a cool guide about key culinary techniques and cooking methods
Starting point is 01:44:00 this is neat this is good for the trad wives out there fellow trad wives it's like okay you know nara smith how everyone's like she's the one that's like my my kids asked me to make peanut butter and jelly so this morning i made them homemade sourdough and started off with and I made them homemade jam and grinded my own peanuts for the peanut butter that's Nara Smith she's like huge on TikTok for being like a trad wife she's married to someone blue is like whiskey blue ivy league blue like what's his name I know his name and I can't think of it blue he's like a model I think um anyways she yeah makes a bunch of stuff from scratch and she does this like really soft spoken voiceover and people are just like
Starting point is 01:44:56 mesmerized by her baking things from scratch and whatnot but like the thing about these trad wives now it's it's like for example when I grew up it was just like that was just my mom or like that was just like how women now it's like people are cosplaying they're fully like purposely buying outfits it's because they're like this this uh this what type of dress is that milkmaid dress will make me look like it'll fit the aesthetic for this trad wife video I'm about to make but then I look at like so there's some people doing that and they're like you know like working that algorithm because that is what's getting shown to the people right now is trad wife content and then there's people
Starting point is 01:45:47 like ballerina farmer like that's just how she dresses that's just her life you know it's just weird how like this the internet like people literally are just like our character our avatar like characters like they're playing a character it's not like who they really are um but also it's okay to like change up your style and like do something different and explore that I'm all I'm all into that like someone who's really good at this is Miley like she has a lot of she has um multiple eras not to say eras for the billionth time but she is like over the years so many different looks and like style choices and aesthetics and I know everyone like apparently uses the word aesthetic wrong but like it is what it is we're all saying the word
Starting point is 01:46:46 aesthetic um so here's a 40 key culinary technique cooking methods explained we're not going to do all of them but like grilling steaming searing stewing braising basting baking roasting sauteing blackening simmering poaching boiling broiling scalding blanching frying deep frying torching jugging cool sweating stir-frying smoking some french word so not another french sous vide soy sous vide sous vide sous vide sous vide food is placed in a plastic pouch or yeah yeah that freaks me out putting like a bunch of meat in a bag and sous videing it sous vide kalua hawaiian cooking method that uses a type of underground oven called an emu imu uh karagi tempering spices velvety hot and hot sand frying
Starting point is 01:47:52 microwaving fuck yeah um what other cool guides are on here this is like where it's like jacqueline just start live streaming you could literally be on a microphone for eight hours going through a reddit on cool guides if you wanted to i just like learning stuff i don't know might as well keep the mic going hi this is actually going to be a two-hour podcast um a cool guide to the best u.s states for boating i don't know okay i'll do one more and then i'll actually end it because i do have stuff to do um i've tried wife things to get up to um i was just like thinking of examples of like what i want to tell you that i'm going to do in the trad wife realm today i don't know
Starting point is 01:48:51 i i want to maybe on a serious note i will end the episode but i i've mentioned this before i always say that i've said this a million times i'm repeating myself but one of the things that i'm really big on is educating yourself like especially when you go into relationships relationships, permanent like you're in a house with someone or like what am I saying like or any new chapter of your life. It could be like getting married and buying a home together like what I'm doing or it could be like starting a new career in a new city. I'm all about educating yourself and having a sense of awareness of what comes with that choice because I've been a witness to people I've witnessed people live life with their like going through them living I've seen
Starting point is 01:49:51 people live life like a chicken with their head cut off not really aware of the repercussions of their choices and it just it never leads to positive outcomes so I'm all about like how can I eliminate not the life has to be perfect and that's not realistic I get it like sometimes you do go through life like a chicken with your head cut off because you're just trying to like figure things out and trial and error and I get it so I'm this isn't an absolute statement but I'm all about like eliminating the stress and the chaos and the hard times and it so if I can think something through if I can be aware of something before I get into it and understand the full spectrum of that choice
Starting point is 01:50:47 before I get into her as I'm getting into it like I'm kind of learning as you go right then you can then you can detect when things start going sideways and it's not really working out how you want you can go up I don't I'm aware that this is a common thing that happens and so I'm going to pull back a little bit I'm going to adjust I'm going to have a conversation about this and then we're going to get back to it because otherwise you're going to I feel like burnout you're going to be exhausted you're going to be like what the fuck you're going to like wake up one day you're going to be like oh I've been doing this for 10 years and like what the fuck I'm unhappy and it's like well you have to check in along the way you have to know what's coming
Starting point is 01:51:25 and I I take that's why I'm like I I might have mentioned this last week I'm repeating myself again but like I'm very I think Corey and I are very like methodical people with our decisions and we're we like to take risks we like to you know be bold and do that kind of thing but we're we're thoughtful and I think it's important to be thoughtful and so what I'm saying is like I had this thought because I'm always trying to like think of the listener and like what how I might come across or like I'm not trying to I'll never be able to fully control your perception of me and that's definitely not I don't have those kinds of superpowers but I think when I put myself in the person in the shoes of the listener and I look at me and I
Starting point is 01:52:15 put the mirror on me and I go well what you know I think people some women maybe that have been around the block or even if you haven't even if you're younger or whatever um I could see how maybe they would be oh worried for me or like oh are you sure about like do you really want to be a housewife and cook and clean all day are you really sure about that that doesn't you say that now but guess what once you have kids imagine how hard you know and what I'm saying is that I'm aware I understand that because right now it's all fun and games I just bought a new house I'm getting married and I'm nesting I'm doing all this like we're doing that thing and it's like fun right now but like I get it like a life of that a career of that sure might be
Starting point is 01:53:11 exhausting but my whole point is like I'm not oblivious to that I think some women are like I just want to get married have babies and be a housewife and they just say it and they they don't really know what comes with that where I'm very well I'm researching I I'm not even researching I'm just my for you page is just feeding me it and I'm like fuck yeah I wish I'm Like, I wish my mom had this when she was raising us because like she would know like, oh, you know, it's there's a reason why you're exhausted. It's because you got three babies. You're you know, you're providing for this family and you're, you know, doing it all. It's like, yeah, it's hard. I guess you don't need to tick tock to tell you that. but I'm all about awareness don't be just be smart think things through evaluate your options
Starting point is 01:54:04 weigh out pros and cons weigh out like yeah it's gonna lead because I'm trying to think like and oh my god I don't know if you have this gene or this trait but something that is super like I don't know divine or like special what do you call this about me or like I meet a lot of people that are kind of like this they're like yeah like I already know what's gonna happen like for me my whole life has been like I see the vision and then it happens I see the vision and then it happens like I really get whatever I want because I it's like the whole manifestation thing like you your thoughts become things like what you speak what's the roomy quote your thoughts roomy quote thoughts into words something like that roomy thoughts into words
Starting point is 01:55:02 quote um maybe it's not hold on i just like quote sometimes i don't i don't know if it's no it's not the one i was thinking of yeah but you definitely get yeah manifestation is real i'm all i'm i don't really like without saying it like i'm all about it because i do believe in it and i think whatever you want you can achieve just through like it starts the mind and it's it's just like having that like dream replay in your head enough will eventually land you your dream it like happens you see it every day like it's not I just but there's so many it's not even that hard you just have to be smart I think that's what it is I think people that are living
Starting point is 01:55:59 their dreams sure they get there's like luck I think a lot of people get lucky and I think there's an element of luck to it of like I don't know like maybe in like the entertainment space like making it big and like you know um but I think people that are living their quote-unquote dream life are smart and they're like thoughtful about what they're doing and they're they know what they want that is it you don't even know what your dreams are if you don't even know what your goals are if you're not even like aware of like where where do I want to be in six months where do I want to be in a year five years if you don't think about that you're gonna those are always the people that are like same shit different year it's like they're kind of depressing to be
Starting point is 01:56:43 around because you're like come on like let's what do you want to do like let's zest you up let's like invigorate your soul let's get you going like let's get you on a little plane somewhere and get you inspired by a new country and a new culture like fucking hey it's almost like you feel bad Like you're, you're around people that you're like, damn, like what even is your potential? Like, I don't even know. What do you even want? Like, what are you into? You know? And I honestly, not to blame our cell phones, but I definitely think a lot of life is just like pissed away zoning out to other people's lives and keeping up with other people's lives. and I think you just kind of get your fix that way where you're like oh you know and then you've you're just on your own you're on your couch you've been sitting on for the last 10 years in the same place and you're just like what am I doing with my life you know so um I just kind of do the thing about success and whatnot and living your dreams is it's kind of
Starting point is 01:57:44 it's very repetitive like you do the same shit every single day and you're just like consistent and you stick to it and um yeah I think I would say the big I'm turning 30 in a month shout out to myself I'm bringing that up again oh wait turning 30 in a month thank you um if you're in your 20s right now my biggest tip is to pick something I've said this a million times but I'm gonna say it again I'm gonna repeat myself a million times but like literally that is my biggest tip is to pick something and it's okay if you like switch switch it up but like I think it's really good for you to like stick to something for multiple years and to like get good at that thing because yeah so all right that's the episode I was like let's
Starting point is 01:58:36 talk about food and then it turned into that so um oh my god the meaning behind every rose color I'm like I'm like a dog when it sees a squirrel I'm like squirrel like oh on my phone again oh my favorite rose color is white and it represents innocence and new love um red is love and love and admiration I like pink roses too light pink is innocence and appreciation wow I'm just so innocent um cool all right thank you for hanging out this was fun um we got into my life updates we've got let me just recap here what we talked about we talked about yeah i'm turning 30 in a month we bought a grill i'm going to yoga and pilates and i'm really strong right now stronger than I ever thought I could be um and I was inappropriately
Starting point is 01:59:42 touched no I'm kidding and my neck was massaged a little longer than I wanted um we talked about um Jimmy almost getting sprayed by a skunk the dog park drama Corey's jeweler calling him and act and him acting weird um oh the trad wife stuff my first year in san diego being a trad wife kind of and like my thoughts on that um why it's important to be a trad wife and also have your own bag monetizing why it's important to monetize your trad wife life um or like have a side thing we talk about healthy relationships how you know you found the one i don't know a bunch of other stuff all right that's it thank you so much for hanging out
