diet dr diet pepper diet doctor doc diet dr pepper today we just consumed oh my god
chill out get on the wait i saw this thing about not not to say you guys know how i feel about
okay i need to stay present on the step i am in this is a therapy thing like instead of getting
ahead of myself mentally and like always like scrambling especially as i'm podcasting here but
like i need to be present and and stay on the step that i am on okay i'm gonna be full fully honest
with you right now or full transparency i was feeling so rushed and scrambled before starting
this today where I was like, I'm just, I'm not going to do it today. But then I saw this TikTok
that was like, be present on the step that you're on. Don't get ahead of yourself. Don't like you're,
you're not, you're not in the moment with the task at hand. You're like thinking ahead of
yourself. And that's why you get paralyzed and you get like frantic about wanting to do the thing.
In my case, recording episode 381 here. So I took a breath and I said, okay, step one,
do your makeup step two put on an outfit I am wearing a double XL Seahawks t-shirt go Seahawks
we're in football season officially the preseason has officially begun Seahawks beat the Chargers
16 to 3 okay I'm wearing a double XL I I went I went heavy on the makeup light on everything else
I'm wearing an XLT uh Seahawks tee I'm I'm wearing the fluffy hair the fluffy freshly washed
hair from the gym you know I didn't do it so that's that but um that's what I'm wearing I just
ate a bear bells protein bar now here's what I have to here's what I have to say about the bear
bells protein bars they they officially like I've thought this for a couple years now since I started
eating them but like they officially figured out the protein bar bear bells protein bars are the
only protein bars that when you're eating it you're like this tastes like a snickers or like
a candy bar you know it doesn't really have that protein bar vibe to it like it's it's like it's
like three percent there like you know it's a protein bar but like as you're eating it you're
not thinking it's a protein bar so they nailed it I did just eat a pro uh bear bells protein bar
this is the double chocolate one I don't know um so I ate that it's 12 26 p.m I just got off
the phone with Corey he just texted me something about our prenup um no I'm kidding should I talk
about her like my thoughts on getting a prenup as you know I'm getting married I'm also getting a
prenup do you want to know my thoughts on that because we're very the both of us are very pro
prenup and so he was texting me about that um I just got off the phone this is my this is my
little tease wait shit it's my little tease on some future a future oh my god it's still going
a future thing I'm doing I just got off the phone I just got off a very exciting phone call I'll
just say that and I'm not gonna say what the topic is on because this is like so vague and annoying
but like just know something exciting is happening in my life and I'm so excited about it not the
wedding it's not the wedding it's not the honeymoon it's not okay we already bought the house what am
I alluding to what do you think I'm alluding to right now anyways I just got off the phone I'm
really jacked up right now I'm really excited I'm really giddy and um Corey and I just talked about
it also we also just talked about this comedy show we're going to on Friday I think with his
family we're going to see Sebastian Maniscalco Maniscalco Sebastian we're seeing him um yeah
it's going to be a great week it's Monday I never record on Monday but like here we are um so yeah
I do have a great show stay on the step you're on be present on the step you're on that is the
message of the day this is a I didn't I did not want to say the four letters my mom doesn't like
when I bring up this topic she's like stop saying you have ADHD I don't have I've never been
diagnosed with it but I think I have tendencies I think a lot of us do obviously because of our
phones and just how like it's such a cliche like how scrambled we are with like picking up your
phone look at your phone all day and like setting it down and picking it up and watching a little
video and then going to an email and then going back to the video and then going on your it's
just like this constant zigzaggy thing we do that I feel like really scrambles our brain and
anyways it's also my phone I don't know if this is relatable but like I feel like
the routine I'm in with checking my phone all day and like being on my phone all day
has messed with my concept of time especially how much time I have in a day like if you clock how
much you're just like like you could sit sit on your phone for 15 minutes or you could vacuum
your house, start a load of laundry, do the dishes and like, let your dogs out to take a
shit in that 15 minutes. Like there are so many things you can get done in such a short amount
of time, but I feel like, yeah, anyways, that's a different subject. Like if I, so sometimes when
I'm like cleaning and like doing stuff, like getting shit done, like writing an email or
like getting something sent off in the mail, I don't know, whatever. I'm like, I clock how much
time it took me. And I'm always shocked. I'm like, that was so much easier than I made it sound in
my brain and again you like get ahead of yourself and you get like anyways paralyzed and you're not
present on the step you are on today we are going to stay present on each topic we're going to take
a breath this is napping hour for me so like the fact it's 12 30 p.m on a Monday and I'm this awake
is unreal now I do think as you know I have been a little fitness bunny for the last
pretty much all of like, I'm always a fitness bunny, but I've been more so I've been more of a
like cardio bunny lately. And it, that shit gives you energy when you work out and you do cardio in
the morning specifically, like, and it's like, duh, Jacqueline in the past, I would say this
when I was younger, I always did cardio. I never did weights, whatever. I talked about this last
week, but I would always feel so much energy all day from cardio in the morning versus I feel like
now I mostly weight lift in the morning and then I get this midday crash right now at 12 30 and I
always do my little 20 minute power nap and then I start to suck half of my day this is an everyday
thing for me and it's just how my little rhythm works but um yeah I do have a lot of energy
we're gonna talk about let's just do like do the wedding stuff um so
do I want to address anything else in the room there's a lot of like
there's a lot of cancellations happening in the uh influencer world right now and here's what I
want to say about cancel culture it's just so dumb like it's so dumb and I feel like people
if you don't know what I'm talking about Brooke Schofield is being canceled for like some
past tweets she wrote when she was in like high school I think whatever my and then there's like
i think alex earl wrote the n-word all over her facebook or something i don't know for sure if
it was her or was it like the brianna barstool girl i don't know if it was her or alex earl
anyways people are digging up stuff from the past of these white chicks being racist white
influencer chicks being racist and like like okay fully writing the n-word is like one thing but
like saying like i feel like what brooke said first of all i'm i should not have any opinion
i like i i don't really have um i'm not what i can't be one to say what's the whole thing like
hey white girl shut the fuck up like you can't talk about this you know but from what i read
that she's being canceled for it wasn't great but like the way it's being handled is it's like
they're overly what's it called um apologizing for or overly like cowering to the woke mob of
people that are like shame shame shame shame on you and what you said when you were 16 you know
like and then she's like crying on her tiktok doing these apology videos and then tana's not
having her on her podcast which honestly was like kind of shitty like as a friend you're
basically like not allowing your like stay I feel like Tana in that moment should have had
in this moment of time where Brooke's being canceled like
be by her side let her have that platform and that opportunity like
like don't hide I feel like this is the thing I hate about cancel culture and especially for
shit like this it's like it's so um it's like taken so seriously in a way that's like
I can't have Brooke on my show like I'm not allowing her on the show because of what she
said when she said it's just so dumb I feel like it's so dumb and like you're kind of throwing her
under the bus but I don't know yeah it's weird I don't I feel like here's my take on like
cancellations and being canceled quote-unquote canceled like what even is that I've always said
this like if that was to ever happen to me and people were to dig shit up or like find something
they didn't like that I said when I was you know younger or whatever I just wouldn't give it any
air time like I wouldn't unless it was something like here's my thing if you do something illegal
that's one thing if you do something that's like you know not totally PC and you write something
on your Twitter okay but just don't give it any energy like these people like take it to it's like
so insane how serious they take it I'm not saying you shouldn't address it at all and you should
completely ignore what your fans are saying about you and how like disappointed they are in you I
think you should yeah address it but like the level in which this shit goes when people get
canceled where they're like completely like rolling up into a roly-poly-oly and like hiding from
the internet and it's it's like you don't have to do that that's like a choice you're making that
you don't have to do and I I believe that people like I hate when people are held to the fire for
their past like that it's just so dumb like um I don't think I mean who am I to say but I don't
even think her brooks tweets were even they were they weren't great but they weren't like that bad
you know like again that that's just my opinion but I I mean I I can't really say that you know
look at me I shouldn't have you know like yeah so how did we get here how did we already get
off the wedding planning topic like I'm not even talking about what I've been up to because I've
been up to a lot I've been up to a lot um do you have any other thoughts to say about
these girls getting canceled for being I mean
I don't know I just don't like the level it goes to it's like
I just wouldn't entertain it I mean obviously I'd feel like shit about it I would I wouldn't be
I would be like damn like like it'd be like oh damn it you know and then I would just keep it
moving I don't know that's just me I wouldn't because like when you give something that much
energy and you allow people to like can't quote-unquote cancel you like that it's like you
give them all the power it's like you're a human being who's allowed to make it like of course
you're gonna make mistakes especially when you're younger and your brain's still forming like
you're not going to, I mean, I was an idiot in middle school and high school. Like I probably
tweet not, I don't think I ever tweeted anything. I can 99.99% sure. I don't even have a Twitter,
but I used to, um, yeah, I'm like, I'm just a stump, stupid little teenage angsty kid.
Who's like figuring things out and just like, you're yeah. So of course you're going to grow
up and learn and change and be a little more you know well-rounded in your views and ideas and
opinions about people in the world around you because of your life experience and your age
like you have more life under your belt so I'm very pro like let people um give them a space to
like change and grow and be better and don't like hold them to the fire for something they said when
there like I don't know was she 17 which is still you're like old enough to know better
obviously like you know right from wrong and um but again with what she tweeted I'm like
I don't know um so anyways wedding planning wedding countdown time I
literally cannot even get on this topic without mentioning like I'm all over the place today but
I upgraded to the 40 ounce Stanley cup life update I finally did it I wanted to see what
the hype was all about but the reason I got the big Stanley is because I had the 30 ounce I think
it's called the ice flow and I was busting through those uh refills so frequently where I was like I
wonder what 10 more ounces would do to my life and I wonder what the handle would do to my life
and the little straw you know it doesn't flip up it's like a full-on straw and it's it's nice like
I don't know like I was holding my other one like this like if you go to the video
now I have a handle it's like I don't know it's fine I haven't spilled it yet so I'm waiting
because like everyone complains about these big stanleys like spilling water everywhere and
so far so good I took it to the gym it was fine at the gym today
I unintentionally matched my gym bag this like nude brown color so that was kind of fun when I
noticed that this morning Corey actually picked the color out for me I was originally originally
gonna go with the um peony pink Stanley but um I love how we're like still not talking about like
my wedding stuff right now um but the more I was looking at it he was looking at I'm like it's too
like obnoxious and like little girly like I don't know I love pink so it's like hard for me not to
buy everything in pink but I went with this uh it's like a sandy brown color cool all right so
I got my wedding dress altered I got my wedding dress altered um that was on last Friday I went
to this little lady she was so sweet I walked in the door and I'm like yes this is exactly what I
want this is this is like the dream situation for like where you're getting your wedding dress
altered so where I got my dress I want should I just shout them out I went to the bustle bridal
boutique in Del Mar here in San Diego and um they recommended this lady this wonderful Turkish lady
to do the alterations on my wedding dress they work closely closely with her so when I showed
up she's like five feet tall maybe not even she like has a little bit of a accent like she I could
tell I'm like I asked her where she's from she's like I'm from Turkey I moved here like I think
she's been here for like over 50 years um she told me she went to sewing school in Turkey for like
six years or like six to eight years which is crazy and she like learned everything there at
that school and um she's been altering wedding dresses now for like over yeah 40 years so I walk
in and the whole place is like a hoarder's house and like the best way it was like just like racks
of clothes she was sewing and like just cute little things on the wall I saw this sign that
was like today's gonna be a good day or something and I was just like yes and um even the way like
when I went into the I literally walked in she like knew I was coming because you know I booked
the appointment at 11 it was like all right Jacqueline's showing up I walk in and it was
just like boom boom like get that dress on like she just like had me run into the changing room
which was like these two shower curtains that had to like they had to get like pinned together
so they weren't even it wasn't even like you know a shut room or anything it was like a full-on like
what do you call that when you jimmy rig something like it was all she was like holding it for me as
I'm clamping it it was really you know I just love shit like this like it doesn't always have to be
like perfect and beautiful and like shiny and fancy like there's something about going to
like a yeah like a tailoring place or whatever and then like just seeing the the life that's
been lived in there and all the clothes and just the stuff and the pins and the push cushion push
pin cushions and the sewing machine she had this other little lady on the sewing machine as she was
helping me and it's this tiny little shop and it was great so I put my dress on it fit now last
week I was I don't know if I mentioned this on the episode but I was doing literally
so I know how negative or how bad especially for a woman's body like over exercising is and how
it's like horrible to spike her cortisol and like you know over exhaust your system on a regular
basis right but I know my body I know how it works and like I can get away and I'm also like
I'm in the I'm in a place with my fitness where I can push it like I can pretend I'm training for
an Ironman at this point like I know it's just my wedding but like I can do three workouts a day I
like I was doing morning spin class at 6 a.m followed by like a light glute workout or like
a light lifting workout just because I wanted to go to the gym with Corey after like that's
literally why I did it like I could be done with the spin class me like okay I'm gonna go back to
the dogs but like no I was like I want to go and see Corey at the gym and like work out with him so
I would do like a little light weight workout after that and then a little sauna
and then and this I was doing all this last week because I was trying on my dress Friday and I
really really really wanted to feel amazing in it and like feel like it was a little looser
than the last time so um yeah I was doing that and then I would go to hot yoga at like 4 30
and Pilates or Pilates and I was doing that I think I did that yeah all four days last week
before Friday and then on Friday I tried on my dress she had to take it in a little bit which
was kind of like oh you know hey last time it was tight now it's like getting taken in um and she
did this thing to my dress that I really wanted to do and I didn't know if it was possible but
she said I can do it and I'm like of course you can do it you've been doing this for 50 years
like I I trust you like I didn't even second guess like is she gonna f this up like I have
full faith that what she's gonna do to my dress is gonna be incredible and so when she was pinning
everything and doing it I was I mentioned that thing I wanted to do and she's like pinning it
and it looked perfect she even took a little video of me twirling around in it and to make sure that
I liked how everything was and um yeah long story short I've been working out I've been eating
healthy. I've been trying, trying on a lot of dresses. Another wedding update is that I spent
my weekend. Literally I was at on Saturday morning, FedEx, USPS and UPS back to back to back. And I
had about 15 boxes in the back of my car to return full of shoes, dresses, accessories, things I
ordered on a whim for my wedding that just didn't work out and I decided like okay if I'm I have to
return them within the return window and so I'm like I need to like get this done ASAP so um it
actually went a lot better than I expected so what I did I guess I've told this backstory here but if
you're new I assume like a couple months before my wedding I'm gonna walk into the mall and like
find white outfits for my wedding weekend, like no big deal. And I tried that out. I walked into
the mall and it was a total flop. Like I just, it wasn't what I thought. So I ended up online
shopping like a mad woman, um, over the past couple of weeks. And, uh, yeah, long story short,
I'm keeping, I'm looking out my rack. I got this rack to hang up all my looks. I'm keeping
two dresses. I'm keeping two dresses. I have two more on the way. And the one on the way that's
coming is like, it's a potential. And if that one doesn't work, then I'm going to go back to the
one I returned that was too small and get that in a bigger size. So then that's going to get
resent. And that's kind of where I'm at with the outfits. Um, but yeah, I'm, I've been wearing my
wedding shoes around my bridal shoes my wedding planner was adamant she's like wear them around
for six to eight weeks before your wedding and I'm like I'm sorry like she she's so sweet I love
her like we're like she's she's the best and I'm like what difference is it gonna make I know it's
like good to break in a heel a little bit but like sick consistently wearing my heels for six to eight
weeks is gonna look like I've been walking through the trenches of what are the trenches in world war
was that two world war one trench warfare world war one right that's what it's i'm gonna look like
i have trench foot i mean like i'm gonna be like they're gonna be brown they're gonna be like
falling apart all the little like they're like satin with a little um should i tell you what
my shoes look like whatever they have like a little um beaded buckle thing on them so um but
yeah i've been wearing them around um so shoes are good dresses are good it's coming together
but the ones I had to return, I got really organized and I love Amazon because it's just
like return. And then you do the little barcode thing at UPS and they box it and ship it for you.
And it's like quick and it's not a headache because it's all within the app. I had to go
through all of my emails. I had to go on all these websites, start returns. Of course they
make it impossible to find where to return the item on the website. So I had to like
go through all of that, get a QR code or a return label sent to my email. Then I categorized,
originally I categorized all my returns. Um, and this is like Neiman Marcus, Saks, uh,
Bloomingdale's, my Teresa, where else do I order from? Yeah. Anyways, these are, uh, Lamarck
randomly. I've never heard of Lamarck until shopping for dresses, but Lamarck. And originally
I just put them in a return folder in my email. But then I was like, wait, this is going to be a
shit show when I walk into the place. Cause I'm gonna have to like figure out which one's UPS,
which one's USPS, like which one's FedEx. So then I got smart and I reorganized all of the return
emails into separate folders of UPS, FedEx, USPS. So that made it easy for me. And then I had to
box everything up and then i put sticky notes on each box to coordinate which box goes to which
location so then when i show drive up in the parking lot um on a hot day i'm like you know
my ac blew out by the way uh worst timing fucking worst timing it's like nothing is worse than
running around in 80 degree hot like it's pretty humid right now weather and just like sweating
your balls off and returning packages and so yeah um so that all worked out that was smart
it actually went really nice I FedEx was cool they pretty much like walk your walk hold your
hand through the returning process and then uh USPS was like get the fuck out of my face with
these packages I walked up to the counter with these two boxes to return and the guy's like
where are your labels and I'm like well I have a QR code and I thought he was gonna like print
them out for me I never return stuff at USPS by the way like very rarely do I and he's like no
you have to buy tape you have to print your own label and you have to like have all of it set up
before you bring it back to the counter so then I went over to the little the little kiosk thing
they have there and one of my bar bar codes worked or whatever my QR codes got me a label the other
one didn't so then anyways I just didn't return that one I returned the other one but then I went
to ups and if i have to pick my favorite out of the three locations uh shipping locations ups to
me is number one they really help you every step of the way in fact this guy was like hey i got you
i will print out your usps label and i will ship it for you from here you won't get a receipt or a
tracking thing but i can help you out and do that for you just send it to the email the store email
I'll print it out no big deal so UPS was great um that was my returning situation I got it done
by midday on Saturday and I was like I thought that was going to be my whole day then I went
to the Goodwill I looked for tchotchkes for the house um that's not really wedding related
I found this like boho-y white fun summer dress that I was like for like $7.99 I feel like I need
this it's like good to have white outfits right now for I don't know I'm just like I feel like
when the thing that I like when I talk to other girls that have gotten married and stuff they're
like aren't you just so sick of wearing white all the time and I'm like I'm not like doing that like
I'm not where I'm not I haven't I'm not doing a bridal shower oh my god I have a lot of hot
takes to go through by the way my wedding hot takes is coming soon I have a full list of like
50 things that we're gonna go over as part of the episode um I'm not doing a bridal shower
I'm not doing a bachelorette party so my only white outfits I'm like planning on wearing are
for my wedding weekend and it is what it is like I feel like for I'm like do I like
have a lot I wear white as it is but I'm not like in my bridal era wearing white you know pajamas
around the house all day and like white dresses all the time. I don't know. So I'm not over the
white thing yet. I'm excited to wear white for the wedding weekend though. Like I am excited about it
now that I'm buying all this, all this stuff. I'm like, I'm seeing the vision come together.
I'm really excited for my wedding day outfit. I'm going to wear before I put my dress on
because I wanted to go one route and I don't, I'm not going to tell you all my stuff's going
to be a surprise like the pictures will come out and that's when I'll like talk about it but I
thought I wanted to go one route for my getting ready outfit and then the more I was doing it I
was like this just does I just don't I'm not liking this vibe so I like did I'm totally going a
different with a completely different idea and that dress is getting delivered today so I'm
super excited about that um but yeah I oh yeah I got I got a dress at the Goodwill I also got
a bunch of history books like kids history books for our house randomly I was like it looked like
someone like cleaned out their library their house or their bookshelf um and like brought them all to
the goodwill because there was a lot of like really cool books there and I always look at the books
because I think it's like fun to have I just like collecting books for our house and I feel like
that's a huge like interior design tip like people overlook maybe or I don't know if you've
ever thought of this but I feel like books make a house look a lot more cozy and homey
um it's not always about like you have to read all the books on the coffee table it's just like
the way it looks is very it just like completes the room so I always look for the books the
goodwill um where else do I look for books antique stores if they have them I don't really go to like
the bookstore to buy coffee table books ever I don't go to the I don't everything I do is like
secondhand like literally I'm at TJ Maxx or I'm at the Goodwill or I'm at like little mom and pop
consignment stores or antique stores like I very rarely am like yeah I'm not a mall bitch I'm not
as you know that was a flop I don't know I don't really like going to bookstores like it's fun
though whenever I do I'm like this is nice seeing all of these brand new books is really nice
so yeah I got these like history books with a lot of pictures and I thought oh you know I'll sit down
for like 30 minutes a day and brush up on my world history that just sounded nice at the in the time
I was at like I'm there with a book and I'm like that's what I do every time no matter where I'm at
like when I'm looking for books I'm just like envisioning like where I'll read this like the
whole like the reason I'm gonna read it like it's like I conceptualize the the book and how it will
like and the plan for reading the book in my mind as I'm looking at it otherwise it's like why buy
it I don't know so let's move on oh my god um we talked to our wedding planner for like two hours
last week and I feel so on top of our shit like I feel like we are so dialed in I have no I really
don't have any stress about like we have to get this done we have to plan this we have to order
this thing we have to do this it's like all pretty much like lined up and now we're working on like
little tiny things that are easy you know it's not like a big stress ball so that phone call
went really great um that was last week so wait I was under the impression I literally cleaned
her whole house because I was like oh she's coming over tonight and she ended up just we
did a phone call instead um so yeah I don't know why I said that but sometimes it's like well
it's still good to have a clean house even though you don't have people coming over I had to tell
myself that um but anyways the I'm trying to think of like the wedding planning logistics we're on
right now um we need we need like stationary and shit we need like signage stuff so that's
kind of what we're working on but um which I feel like I'll include that in my wedding hot takes
um not that like word art and signage stuff is like bad or anything but I feel like I don't
know there's it's hard to like have a wedding and not do signs and like labels and stuff and make
it all like organized that way for the guests like read things and see things and you know welcome
to the wedding welcome to the part you know it's like it's kind of what you do but like a piece of
that to me is very what like it's kind of tacky ish like it's like because if you're gonna go to
like some grand ball I always think of like if you were gonna go to a castle in fucking
Vienna I don't know like there wouldn't be like a a sign there that was all like
pinterest-y looking for you just show up and there's just like beautiful decor and you just
like go to the ball you know it's not like does that make sense but with weddings you kind of got
to do the menus and the signage and the things. Cause it's just like what we do. And I'm embracing
that. I'm embracing that like chuggy basic Pinterest wedding aesthetic stuff, because
it's just, I feel like it makes it look nice for the guests. And like, that's one of my other hot
takes. Like, it's not all about you. Yeah. I think we're not even at the hot takes yet. And I'm
already doing them basically I think that the wedding you should make the guests a focus of
your wedding not just yourself that's important so um I'm planning on getting a facial on Friday
my first bridal facial which feels so late like I'm a month out and I'm just now getting a facial
and I don't get facials regularly like I pretty much have I ever I've gotten a facial in my life
like like five times like I take care of my skin as it is like I feel like yeah I'm getting older
now it's probably smart to get a regular facial like I've always heard this but
anyways I'm getting a microdermabrasion facial and then I'm gonna do before the wedding like
closer to the wedding I'm gonna do a hydrafacial and dermaplaning um just to get all the little
fuzzies away so the makeup looks nice um what else am I gonna do my mom I talked to my talk to my mom
on the phone she's like don't overbook yourself like don't overdo it like you because I told her
I want to get like a massage I gotta obviously get my nails done I gotta do all this stuff
and I'm like I think if everything is done wedding wise like if all the little details are done and
all I have to do is like show up to appointments a couple weeks before I don't think that's gonna
too much. Cause like, I'm not going to be doing anything else. I'm going to do, will I be
podcasting? Wait, I need to think about this. Um, like my last podcast is the fiance or something
like, um, maybe Corey and I, I should get him on the horn for, um, post like a post wedding debrief
couples, newlyweds episode. That'd be really fun to like talk about our wedding and like how it
all went maybe like a month after not like right after the wedding but um so yeah I booked a facial
um I'm getting my hair darker that's another thing I have to do
this is interesting this is fun I mean I'm not really talking about world events we got like
fucking uh I told you about okay the Seahawks won we know that gold medals US okay here here's
here's the count here's a little intermission in the wedding content for you gold medals
we tied with china with 40 gold medals uh 44 silvers this is us 40 golds 44 silvers 42 bronze
126 overall now we had the most athletes i believe so like i think what they uh
so like technically we have the most but compared to how many athletes we have i wonder what that
percentage would be um some of these countries have zero while most countries have zero medals
or zero golds so what was the country the cute little country that got their first gold this
year it was sweet um looking here was it saint lucia or something yeah that's sweet um
cool so olympics are officially over olympic paris olympics are officially over i kind of
stopped watching after gymnastics ended i was like watched a little track but after the gymnastics i
was like i didn't oh we won gold men's basketball and women's basketball won gold for basketball
did trump's plane almost crash or something in montana i saw that he had like engine failure
trying to take him out in the sky now or some shit i don't fucking know
um he said i'm reading this article here on bbc trump falsely claims harris crowd was faked
there's a picture of uh it does look so ai the harris campaign put out a image of a crowd with
their phones up when kamala came off i think that's what is that air force one
and i guess trump donald trump has falsely claimed a crowd which gathered to see vice
president kamala harris speak in michigan last week didn't exist and an image showing it was
ai generated um it's a lot of people there i don't know i don't even want to talk about this guys i'm
just like i'm just so dumbfounded by the world right now and there's like some crazy shit
happening over in europe some terrorist shit uh like taylor's taylor's concert i think it was in
Vienna and that like ISIS attack that was supposed to happen that they caught before happened
the UK's got a lot of sensitive stuff happening right now so yeah we're gonna go back to the
wedding stuff I'm like yeah so we picked out our first dance song
back to the wedding stuff this is annoying
um am i slouching i'm slouching so bad this is not good bridal posture
so i've been in wedding mode now for a little over a year ever since we got engaged and started
planning this so i know a lot about the wedding industry wedding culture at this point and i have
lot to say about weddings and what people choose to do or not do on their weddings and honestly
like I'm gonna do my list of hot takes right now my list of wedding hot takes but at the end of
the day obviously everyone's different everyone has a different vision dream plan for their
wedding a different goal in mind and I can't bash that and like hate on that because everyone again
is different. And I think a lot of what I'm learning is that a lot of people have a like deep
relationship with their wedding or something that they've literally thought about since they were a
little girl. And that is, it's like so core to them and so important to them. And that's, I feel
like I won't, I don't know if I can say most people or most girls, I'm just going to talk
about women because it's like a woman thing to like plan your wedding and dream about your
wedding so that's just I've never seen like male wedding planning TikTok or like groom
TikTok where they're like talking about their wedding planning journey I don't know
so something that yeah I think I've always known this because growing up like my friends would
sort of like allude to like their dress someday like in elementary school I remember one of my
friends I'll just call her Sarah I don't even think I had a Sarah in my class I remember she
would like talk about her wedding dress in the third grade and talk about wedding stuff and I'm
like I just it was so far away in my mind I just like I knew oh someday I'll get married but I
never like dreamed about it as a little girl I never really put it on the frontal part of my
brain ever until I literally got engaged and had to plan my wedding so it's a really interesting
thing like um yeah I guess the reason I'm bringing this up is because on my TikTok as you know I went
viral for saying that I think the man should pick out the engagement ring for his girlfriend and
she shouldn't be involved or like tell him like all every little detail she wants like I think
it should be on him to pick it out for her and of course that went viral because what the fuck
he's not wearing that ring he's not the one looking down in his hand looking at the ring
all day. Like, you know, I get where people are coming from. I a hundred percent understand like
the pushback I got on that video. And I think at this point, and I address this, I've made like
50 videos now on the topic because hi, I'm monetized. Hi, I'm a TikToker. Hi, the algorithm,
the Tik TOK creator fund rewards creators who get engagement around certain topics. And so,
or if you get engagement around a certain topic, it's a good business practice. If you're a
businesswoman um to like milk that niche milk that topic to death because engagement equals
dollar signs in your pocket so um i feel annoying and i feel like i'm being so pick me over on my
tiktok about it but like i am genuinely being myself like i think at the end of the day
i'm not trying to rage bait i'm not trying to like piss people off for the sake of like oh this is a
polarizing statement to say or whatever, but I genuinely am not the type of girl who ever dreamed
of my wedding like that, or thought about engagement rings or how to Pinterest board,
or like, it never really crossed my brain. It never was a thing in my mind. So I think the
people that are commenting and like pushing back are just like, like, we get it, girl. You're so
chill. Like you're like, you're, I don't know. What do you call that? Uh, they call me a pick
me girl, you know, because I, I'm just like, so go with the flow when it comes to like,
whatever my fiance picks out for me, um, or whatever ring he would pick out for me. I'm
so like, I'll love it because he loves me and who cares what it looks like. Um,
but I think girl to girl, like if I was talking to my friends and they, we were talking about
rings and stuff like yeah you're gonna have a preference and you're gonna say what you like
and I'm gonna be like yeah fuck yeah you should get what you want of course duh um I think it's
just my my experience that worked for me um and I think I'm projecting or I want that for other
people because it was so special it was so special so yeah um wedding hot takes are we here yet are
we doing this I also haven't ran with a pack of women in my 20s holy shit I'm in my 30s now what
the fuck so I've said this a lot but I think the reason why I ended up or I am the way I am a lot
of the reason why is because I've kind of been a I have been a little lone wolf um I don't want to
say like I I mean I've been I've been alone most of my 20s like I don't like I said I don't run
with a pack of women I don't have a lot of like girlfriends and like I feel like when you're
surrounded by other people that are going through similar life experiences with you like dating and
getting married and getting engaged like you're gonna have opinions and ideas um based on like
what your friends are doing what you're seeing them doing and so that's gonna be normalized for
you but if you don't have that like in my case you're going off of your own brain and like what
your own experience is and so a lot of the way I am is because of that it's because I've literally
created my own or formed my own ideas and thoughts and opinions based on like just me
and I know that's like honestly when the more I say that out loud or when I just said that out
loud I don't necessarily think that's like the healthiest thing because I think getting feedback
and like bouncing ideas and bouncing your personality and your opinions off on other
people is it's good for you because you're going to like learn from what they think and they're
going to reflect something back to you that maybe you haven't thought of and blah blah blah so
um it's kind of cool like okay I I think the things I think because of
because I've independently formed them in my brain without any other influence
obviously i have influence a fuck ton from my social media and like what i see online like
let's be honest that's probably where i get a majority of or a good majority of my opinions
and ideas are directly come from what i see online i mean i'd be stupid to not admit that
so but other people like girls and stuff end up kind of like conforming to similar
ideas and thoughts and um you know I'd be the weird friend in the group who's like yeah I don't
care what ring it is because I love him and whatever ring he picks out for me would be
beautiful because I don't care like I've always thought that if I'm thinking like let me actually
like put in my brain let me actually like go back in time to life came at me fast though because
like during COVID or after COVID like I realized oh my god like three years have just gone by or
whatever like whoa and now everywhere I look everyone's getting engaged and married and all
that but before that time that was always like a it felt far away like it didn't feel like oh
that's right around the corner right before you turn 30 when you're 29 you're gonna get engaged
like that like life happened fast like that so um yeah when I was younger if I thought about like
getting proposed to none of the guys I was ever with I imagined marrying to be honest like not a
single one um so I wasn't like looking at rings or thinking about it but I've honestly like I'm
trying to go back in time I'm pretty sure like I've always assumed maybe it's just my own yeah
my my own psyche or whatever I've just always assumed that's something that the man does
the man picks out your ring and proposes to you I've anytime I've seen an engagement I'm always
assuming oh that man picked out that diamond in that ring and he all for her you know I always
thought that was the way it was done until like a year or so ago when I noticed like a bunch of
people I follow are getting engaged and I noticed how they were talking about their ring building
process and they're going to the jeweler process and how they picked out the ring together and I
was like oh I've never heard of that before but then now with my TikTok blowing up and everything
people are like yeah back in the 80s and my parents got married they did the same thing my mom picked
out her entire ring or she always knew what she wanted and told my dad and so so like obviously
it's not a new thing but for me it was new and that's why I think I was so like
what you know i just thought it was but people make a lot of sense like the girl's gonna wear
that thing for her whole life like she should like it of course um anyways wedding hot takes
we're gonna do it so god i'm like all over how's my upper lip i'm always we do have the ac on today
using my charlotte tilbury airless airbrushed airbrush flawless finish powder
oh my god speaking of sweating oh my god so cory and i got pasta and like tiramisu and wine and
so i tried my dress on friday and up until that point i was like so healthy with my food like all
Like I was having a perfect day every day for multiple weeks. And I was like, yes, I'm feeling
myself. And on Friday we're like looking at each other, like, let's go out for a date night. Like
let's go get Italian. And I'm sitting there looking at the menu and I'm like thinking all
like health minded, like my wedding's in 40 some days. Like I'm going to order the salad and the
protein or whatever. And I'm just sitting there like, fuck it. I just tried on my dress. It looks
great. It's going to be fine. I'm going to have some pasta and wine tonight. It's going to be
fine it's one day whatever but what's crazy is like what am I saying oh my god like what's the
point of this conversation I went to the gym so like when I eat a lot of carbs or like because
carbohydrates like you retain more water when you eat carbs that's and I I even looked it up because
I'm like is this like a is this like a fucking kidney issue like do I have a like is this
something underlying here. I went to the gym. What's today? Corey went golfing on Sunday.
I had a lot of carbs on Saturday too. So I had a Friday night dinner. And then on Saturday I had,
it was a carby day. Okay. It was like a lot of like food. It was like a high food, high carb day.
The next day I go to the gym, I do my cardio and then I sauna, you know, sweating as usual a lot.
Like I always sweat a lot, but like, you know, it was, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
Okay. This is the sweating story before we get into my wedding hot takes. I go into the salt room that we have at our gym. It's like a red light, infrared, whatever. I don't think it's infrared. It's like glowy red and there's Himalayan salt on the walls.
And after the sauna, I was already sweating pretty decently. I sat in there for 20 minutes. I go into the salt room and I'm just sitting there because I'm trying to like cool down and like get my, you know, breathing kind of slower. And, you know, I wanted to like pack up my bags and get back on the road and go back home. Right. So I'm sitting there and I only brought like one hand towel for my sweat.
I'm sitting there and I'm noticing that I'm dripping sweat like pretty bad as if I'm in
the sauna now this salt room isn't heated it's like room temp right there's not a lot of airflow
usually they spray this like salt stuff around the room but that thing was turned off so it's
just like a room temperature salt room I'm sitting there and so I did like an hour of cardio and then
I sat in the sauna for 20 minutes and then now I'm in the salt room and I'm just like dripping
thing and I have my one little hand towel and thank god I brought oh my god I always do this
as a this is like I am this is what I don't like hi if you go to my gym this is I know I know you
know who I am because I'm not I'm not disgustingly sweaty girl who it's always like dude why are you
trying so hard like why are you working out it's like I just can't I'm like working out as hard as
you are I just sweat 50 times more than you do and I hate being obnoxious about like I don't I
always try to like keep it like on the DL right so I take my gym bag in I take my shoes I make
sure I have like my towels and everything in there with me in the salt room in case like I'm all
gross and I don't have to like walk out in front of everyone and like drip everywhere because I
was just like I don't want to be that person it's just like trying to be you know I'm trying to have
like nice etiquette in there and um the worst thing I feel like when people are in the gym
with like their or in the locker room with their headphones on there aren't really any girls like
the gym. I'm just thinking of like, I feel like guys would do this. They're just like obnoxious
and like flailing, flailing their bodies around and just like really like pumped up because of
their workout. And they're just like not being, it's just like, no one likes that energy in the
room. So, uh, anyways, I'm in the room, the salt room after like five minutes on damn, I'm like
dripping like a faucet and I'm just like sitting back and I'm like, okay, this is a lot. And
there's like five other girls in there with me on their phones, just like chilling. Um, which is
like against like what the salt room is apparently the salt room is like pulling the emf radiation
out of your body or something or it's like al alkalinize alkalizing i don't know it like helps
with that kind of stuff hi i don't know anything about this shit but it like it's supposedly good
for sucking ions or like giving you ions and de-radiating your, I don't fucking know. You get
the point. It's like, so to have your phone in there is like kind of against the point of the
salt room. So yeah, there's like five other girls in there with me. And it's like, who gives a shit,
right? Like you're sweaty. It's gross. Like they're not going to be like, what the fuck?
Obviously you worked out, like you're going to be sweaty, but it got so bad. This is where I'm
getting, I'm only saying this because I had to touch up my upper lip because of the hot lights
here. Um, my wedding day. Oh my God. Am I going to be sweating like really bad? It's in September.
Um, after like 15 minutes, cause I was like, okay. After five minutes, I was like, okay,
I'm sweating. And then I was in there for like 10 to 15 minutes. And I'm like, okay, I'm really
like it's not stopping it's not stopping okay now after like 15 minutes I look down at my feet
and it looks like I spilled an entire 40 ounce Stanley tumbler of water that did that is how
much sweat poured out of me just sitting there in the salt room so I'm just mortified I'm like oh
my god oh my god I hope no one sees this and I literally waited I think 30 minutes until everyone
left before I like sopped it up with my little hand towel and changed and like left because I
was just too mortified by how much that, cause it was going to, if I stood up, it was going to be
like a, it was going to be like a puddle. I don't know why I sweat that much. And so then I was like
freaking out and then I Googled it. And then I read something about like, it is genetic sweating
or whatever, but sometimes it can be because of kidney stuff. I don't know. I'm healthy. I'm
healthy as fuck. I just know that. And I, I know this because of my mom and sister, the other
women in my family, direct family, family, like they sweat a shit ton too. And I feel like growing
up my dad did a lot like both of my parents did when they worked out so whatever I felt so snatched
after obviously from getting all that water out of my body and then yeah so wedding hot takes
let's do it even waiting on the edge of your seat and here we're finally doing it so I said this
already but my first wedding hot take is that the wedding hi if you're a bride yes it's your
wedding and it's your big day and yes you're going to be the bell of the ball and all the
attention is going to be on you and you know it it's easy to think that it's all about what you
want and because it's your wedding but my first hot take is that your wedding is not all about you
and if anything um you should make it about the guests and their experience because
or it's like it's like both okay like consider your audience and consider or consider the guests
and what they're gonna experience at your wedding because I feel like if you're not thinking from
that angle and if you're just thinking about you you you you like it's not gonna be fun for them
like you're gonna miss the little things that would make them happy that you didn't think of
And so something we're doing right now as we're, as we're closing in on the final month of our wedding planning is working on those little touches, working on those little things that would be special for the guests that would make it a good experience for them because we want it to be a fun, like happy time.
And we, we don't want it to be like, Ooh, we showed up, we came all the way to San Diego and it's like, you know, um, cause they're obviously spending a lot of money to come and show up there.
And you're traveling. A lot of people are traveling from out of town. So just don't make it all about you. Think about your guests and like really think about it. Like put yourself in their shoes. Imagine if you were to go to a wedding, like what you would want. Do that. So that's number one. Number two. And I might just be saying this to make myself feel better because if I had like seven close girlfriends or like and plus my sister is like the maid of honor, would I have a wedding party?
if it was like a sisterhood type friend group and it was like, yeah, a hundred percent,
you're coming to my wedding and you're going to be my, you know, you're my bridesmaids. Like
fucking, of course I would. But the more pictures I see of the bride, of the wedding parties of like
the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, I'm like, it's kind of, I feel like it's overrated now a little
bit. And it's kind of, I don't know if it's going away, but I'm seeing like in the year I've been
in this wedding world online and looking at pictures and looking at what people do, I feel
like I'm seeing less and less wedding parties and like big wedding parties. Like I'm Corey and I are
literally standing in front of everyone with no one around us except our officiant. That's what
we decided to do. And I don't know, I feel like it just puts all the emphasis and the, it makes
it all about the bride and groom, which it is. It's about them getting married. And, um, it's
also like less pressure and less stuff I don't know um it's not like I'm not getting ready with
anyone like of course I'm gonna have all the girls in my bridal getting ready suite and we're gonna
do this whole like makeup and hair thing but um yeah I think wedding parties are overrated um
another hot take is to put expensive gifts on your registry put the most expensive shit you
could ever wish and want on your registry, um, do it. I think I put like a $1,700 Roomba that mops
and like sweeps mops, like cleans your toilet, like cleans your entire house on my registry.
Like I put so much expensive shit on there. Like don't hold back on your registry. Like
go big, put expensive stuff on there, uh, put the stuff you want, put your big,
like dream items on there um because yeah I feel like if you just put the little stuff
do the big expensive shit and then put a fund for like your honeymoon like do because people
at this point I think registries are kind of I wouldn't say overrated but like people want money
that's really what they want so I think for us like we're obviously new homeowners and
you know it depends on the couple getting married but like it makes sense for us to put like home
stuff on ours because you know, we want to like put her home, put her little house together and
we're still working on doing that. So, um, but yeah, put expensive shit on your registry. You'd
be surprised. Like, um, what's my point of saying this? Like, I feel like guests will want to spend
a certain amount. And if you're putting stuff, it's like all like $50, $50, $25, $25, they're
gonna buy a lot of little things and it's like no but you really need that one big thing if that
makes sense so it's better to get the good shit than all the little like tchotchke stuff that you
could probably just buy yourself that's just my opinion next hot take the bride pays for hair and
makeup for everyone if like you require your if you have bridesmaids to you know being glam for
your wedding and like wear a certain color and get a certain dress, like pay for their hair and
makeup. I'm personally doing this. So obviously, like I said, I'm not having bridesmaids like the
traditional way with everyone dressed the same and standing next to me, but they're going to
come into my, like where I'm getting ready, which I won't say secret location. No. It's like at our
venue like a fucking whatever it's like not even it's so dumb I even made it like oh where is it at
um and they're gonna get their hair and makeup done on me and it's part of again their experience
like they came all this way to come to my wedding like I want to give back to them in that way and
I want to make sure that um everyone looks great and feels great and I'm not gonna be like not only
making them buy certain outfit I feel like this is more this is more applicable if you're like
if they're like paying for your bachelorette and like all the stuff for that and then also that
you're the bridesmaid dress and then they show up and then they have to like do their own hair
and makeup I think it's a nice gesture to pay for their hair and makeup so that's my other I don't
know if these are these are like hot takes opinions whatever um here's my other wedding
hot take if a guest you're inviting doesn't know anyone at the wedding like maybe they just know
you and the groom, give them a plus one. I feel like again, with considering your guests feelings
and like what they, and their experience. And I know it's like fucking expensive, right? Like
the more people you add, like the more expensive the wedding, but I feel like it's, it's nice if
you can to give that person a plus one so they can bring someone along and it'll be a good time for
them. And they'll feel more comfortable like sitting at the table instead of being by themselves,
not knowing anyone, like they'll have a good time. Um, again, this is like case by case,
depending on like how big your wedding is. But if you can, I think giving the people that don't
know anyone there, if they're like a random special person from your life and it's just
that one person, they're not affiliated with your family or your friends or anyone else at the
wedding, give them a plus one. Um, here's like a, when I'm like kind of still working out in my
head so I want to know your thoughts on this because I was just at a wedding and they did a
cocktail hour obviously after the ceremony and during that time all of the family and the bride
and groom were off taking photos so like the photographer was with them and everyone else
was at the cocktail hour and before the dinner and I feel like I have this thought where I'm like
we're going to have a cocktail hour obviously, but, and we're going to be doing photos during
the time people are mingling and having cocktails and eating like little, little bites, small bites.
Right. But I'm like, I kind of want to go to my own cocktail hour. So like, cause I feel like it's
a blur at that point. Like if you just like take your, you could do the ceremony, you take photos,
everyone's like at the cocktail hour. And then you just like go right into the first dance. Like
you miss that entire portion I guess that's not really for you that's more for the guests that's
more to like keep people entertained while you're doing photos but like there's a way to make the
cocktail hour longer and like participate in it I don't know what is it really like just having a
drink with everyone and mingling like I don't know because knowing me I'm like no I want to
do that grand entrance and do that first dance which is another one of my hot takes by the way
like I said food before dancing but okay let me get on my list here so I think okay here's my
thought on dancing so everyone's looped up from cocktail hour they just watched you get married
you just took photos I think because most weddings um happen where fuck hold on excuse me
is that the first f-bomb
the bride and groom after that make a grand entrance and then the first dance happens and
everyone's like watching them but then it's like the um what is it the mother of the groom father
of the bride dances you know and then it's just like this dancing thing and everyone's sitting
and watching them and it's like feed those like I feel like there needs to be food on the table
at that point at least bread butter you know lube them up with some good fat and carbs okay
and uh they got a cocktail they had a little small bite or two they've been sitting around
watching your wedding at that point it's probably been a long day for them so make sure there's food
on the table a little bread little butter right maybe a salad just something to get them started
while you're doing the first dance and all the other little dances because yeah I feel like
that's important instead of like just having people sit there and like watch the dancing and
they're just like, where's the food? They're like hungry at that point. So I'd say first dance
is fine, but make sure people are like starting to eat. And then also my other hot take about
weddings is that I think sit down dinners while they are beautiful, while they are so formal and
so grand and you know, ideal. I feel like in our minds, it's like a sit down dinner at a wedding
is right like ideal but I feel like they're kind of going out and the buffet's coming back in
and to be honest sit down dinners anytime I've been in a function like an auction or a wedding
or whatever whenever there's a sit down dinner I feel like by the time the food gets to me when
it's served it's kind of like lukewarm and cold and it takes forever like it always takes so long
to get the food and I feel like people think like buffets are tacky which I kind of understand like
that perspective like it's like fucking it's like welcome to the grand golden corral it's like the
like I don't know but I don't think buffet weddings are tacky I think people get are happy
because they get to have as much as they want within reason obviously they get to like pick
out the food they like it's hot they're well fed there's options you're not just like forcing them
into like one cuisine because we're gonna have like five different I put up four why did I do
that we're gonna have like five different types of food there for everyone um we're having we are
doing more of a buffet style setup we're having some stuff something served um like the initial
stuff's already served and then stations for food where yeah it'll be hot and ready you can go and
get what you like and come sit down and dancing will continue at that point obviously but I think
that combination needs to happen like the food and the dancing needs to be like this perfect
symphony of timing where people aren't just sitting around staring watching um
the dance and like looking for the food you don't want people to be like looking for the food also
people like should not have to wait on cocktails like if you're having a big wedding and you're
doing a cocktail hour make sure you have pre-made cocktails like trays being passed around so people
can grab that margarita, grab that Paloma, whatever, like grab that martini, like make
sure they can grab something quickly or have that as like a option for the people standing in line.
That way it's not like you're checking your watch, like Jesus, it's been 20 minutes and I'm
still like waiting for a drink. So, um, depends on, depends on how big your wedding is, but I
think that is a good way to go. Um, pre making drinks for people. Um, also I also think that
welcome bags are kind of tacky and unnecessary. Like, I'm sorry, getting a paper bag with like
a toothbrush and fucking candy in it for a wedding. Like I get the sentiment, like it's a
gesture for your guests to give them a welcome bag but like unless you're putting in fucking
like lawn comb I don't know soaps and like Chanel I don't know like chocolates like or
fucking seas candy I don't know like I think there's a way to do it like where if you it's
not gonna be if you're not budgeting for like something that's like a little like more high
and nice and you're going with the Costco candy and the toothbrush like just admit it don't do it
I think it's a little unnecessary and tacky and like people are gonna come prepared they're gonna
have their own toothbrush like I mean I've seen obviously like hangover kits and that kind of fun
stuff which I think it's cute but like at the end of the day it's kind of tacky a lot of this
wedding stuff I'm seeing in this like wedding world I've been again living in for a year is like
it's like um it's too fussy where it like doesn't need to be so
yeah I don't know welcome bags I think in my case I'm gonna do a little something I'm not
gonna say what because I have listeners that are this pertains to but it depends like everything
depends on on like the size of your wedding how many people are going to be there and what you're
willing to spend right so I'm not saying don't do anything I think there's like little gestures
and things you can give your guests that are nice but it I just think the welcome bag is
kind of a tacky tacky thing to do um okay back to the dancing uh first dance topic
okay is this because i have daddy issues my dad's not coming to my wedding
no i think that the mother of the groom father of the bride dances are
i feel like they're kind of cringy like i was thinking about it because my dad's not going to be
at my wedding and so like that i wouldn't be doing a father of the bride dance anyways but like
even if it was my grandpa my grandpa also unfortunately isn't coming but my grandma is
I'm like am I gonna like dance with my grandma like I don't know why like it's something about
it's like cringy like or dancing I was thinking I was thinking about this last night like am I
gonna like slow dance with my mom like I don't know I feel like it's awkward for everyone just
like what is this I don't know it doesn't it doesn't seem necessary it's like I get the first
dance bride and groom but like after that it's like we don't need to do these like Corey and
his mom I guess can dance together it's like a traditional special thing but I just think it's
kind of like it makes me like uncomfortable I don't know that's just me um I think they're
they're a little cringe okay also this will be I think we'll wrap it here for my hot takes
um this is like an extreme hot take when it comes to
uh bride and groom attire specifically the groom attire
I think or excuse me I think that the groom should always wear black and have a bow tie
it should always be a black tux with a bow tie always I don't care if it's a beach wedding I
don't care if it's a all white themed wedding like no like or whatever like I guess some people do
that which is crazy but uh or not crazy like do what you like right like do what you works for
you but like let me just go to the bow tie specifically let's talk about the the groom
wearing a bow tie so now while a tie a suit like a tie is nice I feel like and I'm only going off
of a picture I saw of Corey at his sister's wedding. So I'm basing it off of this because
he looked amazing, right? Like he, he was in, in the wedding, he was wearing a black tux,
the black tie and his sister's husband wore a tuxedo with a bow tie. And that contrast of like
the grooms and wearing a tie and the bow tie being the groom, it just, it works. It's so classy. And
I feel like Corey was just giving like Butler, like he was not giving groom. And so if he wore
a tie next to me I don't know like it just looks more official I don't know like more classic more
timeless like there's something there's something about it's just like a it's just like the bride
wearing a white gown like it's just there's something about it that's like undeniably
classic and timeless and great and so to wear like a blue dress is like what you know it's a it's a
white dress so for the groom I think it should be a black a black tux with a like a bow tie
black bow tie or like you could change up the colors a little bit but I'm just very pro that
over the light I feel like the lighter tuxes I've seen when it's like a cream or something
they like blend in with the bride and they just like don't it just doesn't look as official to me
not that okay maybe that's not what you're going for maybe it's not like important to you but
um it doesn't have like weight to it the light groomsman suit doesn't have like a weight unless
you're doing like I mean it has to be a sick white suit I mean that shit has to look so like
right out of the colonial days or something it has to be like so grand looking it cannot just
look like a sport coat a white button-up and I don't know um I feel like the groom gets lost
when they're lighter. Now, Corey mentioned he wanted to wear a blue tux at one point. And I was
like, I just smiled. I was like, well, that's what you look great in blue, blue suits. Like
I've seen him in a blue suit suit. He looks amazing. Or like gray, like any other color,
but black, I'm like, just doesn't feel right. You know, like it just doesn't give like that.
That's the one thing, like, I guess I have envisioned envisioned is like, I've never
imagine getting married and not being next to a my the grooms and a black tuxedo with a bow tie like
that's just how my brain works but again do do what you want um everyone has a different
preference I mean you don't even have to wear a tie or a bow tie like you can um you don't even
have to wear a boutonniere do that whole shindig I feel like yeah that's kind of prom-y but
I don't know I think we're definitely gonna have the boot in here we've already planned for it so
we're doing it but um yeah I'm all for like that dark that black suit that James Bond fucking
black buttons like let's I mean it's your wedding you know you can wear a light beachy
linen outfit or whatever any day but it's probably what the bride wants right so maybe the bride
wants it to be like a lighter beachy vibe and I feel like those weddings like it does look nice
but I just like I'm just like all about like I want it to look classy and classic and like
you know no one looks it's like the bride in a white dress is stunning right the groom in a
black tux with a bow tie just like it's like it's like go with your best option available and in my
opinion, that's what the groom should wear. So I won that fight. It wasn't even a fight. Um,
I'm so excited to see him. So I'm actually like doing a first look kind of with him too, because
I don't want, I can probably envision what he looks like in a black tux, but, um, like I can,
it's like pretty standard. Right. But I didn't want to see it. Like he went to the tailor with
his mom and they like, you know, tried it on and she tried to, she sent me a video and I was like,
through my phone I like it's like not that big of a deal if I see it but like I just really want
to see him for the first time when we're doing our first look um on our wedding day so all right
I think that's my list I do have a story about the nail salon and domestic violence
not domestic violence I guess it's like
I basically I won't tell the story like in depth but I went to the nail salon you know when you
like go like I didn't I've never been to this nail salon I was doing my second bridal nail trial
um like I wanted to switch up the nails and I was ready for a fill and I just randomly went
to a new place and the woman who did my nails was like my soul sister it was like she had been on a
she had a similar path of adversity that I did we had we had very similar like upbringings
childhoods I mean hers was like 10 times worse in a different way than mine but and she was very
open with me about that but it was one of those things where this doesn't happen very often often
but when it does it's really special because look I'm not all about like telling everyone your life
story the second you meet them like I don't I don't I'm not a big fan of that I don't like to
do that personally and I feel icky sometimes when other people do that to me because I'm like I just
know too much information like that was really heavy but it was one of those things where she
was like ask me what I do for work and I said you know the podcast and she asked me what I was what
I talk about on my podcast and I think I had mentioned like you know a lot of a lot of times
I talk about like mental health stuff or whatever and like um you know being a woman navigating
dating and life experiences and blah blah as a woman and um I don't know I feel like I said that
and she was just like she wanted to know my opinions about her situation and her past and
like she wanted advice and I was literally sitting there and we were like trauma bonding in a way and
like talking about our childhoods and then um and I ended the conversation thinking like wow this
woman is really fucking smart she's just on her journey she's smart but it hasn't clicked for her
yet where she's not she's still willing to suffer like she's still allowing bad people in her lives
and allowing people to do her wrong and she's like still kind of stuck in that but like I sensed that
like, cause I saw myself in her in a way. It was one of those things where you're like, damn,
she has a similar mindset, but I remember what it was like when I was still kind of learning
this, learning my current mindset and still kind of living the same way. And then there's a time
where you switch and you like get to the other side and you're like, there's no going back.
I'm never tolerating that. Never doing that. It's about like, I don't think she's, um,
she's smart she knows better and all of that she knows what's going on with her as far as like
being gaslit and being manipulated and being you know walked all over and abused all that stuff
and um it's a self-worth thing at the end of the day and I think that's what it was for me so I
just noticed I was like I was trying to like I just let her talk I was kind of in that mode of
like okay I don't know her I just met her she's doing my nails for the first time but like
I think she just wanted to talk it out and I said it's okay because she kept she kept feeling bad
like oh like I'm telling you my life story I'm like no it's we're at the nail salon this is you
know what we do and um so yeah that's what it was for me like you if you don't have that self-worth
thing like super strong and you're not like if you don't it's a it's like a self-love like you
have to love yourself enough to like let go of a toxic situation like get out of it otherwise
you're just gonna stay in that pattern and put up with bs and feel like shit and feel like shit
meanwhile you're like you know what's really going on so she definitely knows what's going on but
she's like not ready to get get out of it so um it was just cool because she um oh i know what we
bond. And the cool thing was this, she was talking about her dad and, um, her relationship with her
dad. And it was pretty rough. And I asked her, I was like, Oh, do you, you know, is he still around?
Like, do you still talk to him? And she's like, she's like, no, like I haven't seen him in like
10 years. And, um, I actually called him recently a couple of months ago for the first time in like
few years. And I said, I said, was that on father's day? And she's like, yeah, yeah. Actually
my, the guy she is currently with, like one of the good things about him was that he got her to
call her dad, which is what Corey did with me. Corey got me to finally call me down on father's
day this year. So I said, no shit. I did the same thing. And, um, so it was just kind of a funny
thing. How, you know, what do you call that? A serendipitous moment or a, you know, it was just
a cool thing um because it's just one of those examples again where and I'm trying to get better
at this because I think it's healthy I'm trying to get better at talking to people just in general
and being more like open in public instead of keeping my head down and just like doing my thing
I'm like trying to be more um connected with my environment and the people in it because I think
it's easy to just like walk into a store walk into your appointment and just like you know stay in
your little zone and not really taking into consideration the people around you. And so
when you do, it's really amazing how, um, people open up to you and they'll talk to you. And you
just, it was a good reminder of how, like, we're all the same. Like we all have the human experience
is very, like, we're all experiencing the similar things emotionally, spiritually, mentally, like
it's all happening to all of us in a different way, but also in a very similar way. And so
when she was talking, I was like, damn, I get you. You know, it was, if it was very like
therapeutic to listen to her talk. So I was like, um, but damn, she's smart. It was one of those
things where I'm like, fuck. And she's like probably 10 years older than me. I think,
yeah, I could probably say she's like probably 10, 10 to 15 years older than me. And like,
she just doesn't she just hasn't figured out that like worth thing where she yeah but if you've been
abused your whole life it's hard to break out of that it's hard to realize that you feel like
you've been beaten down your whole life and you always question your not a well existence or
whatever but you quite you just like you don't feel good about yourself you don't feel worthy
enough of love and anything so you end up pushing people away and that's something we had in common
I was like yeah I can't tell you how many times I've had a good thing and push it away because
I didn't feel worthy of receiving that kind of love I was like resistant to it because it just
I didn't know how to I didn't I've never felt that so then when you feel it it's like it doesn't
you're so addicted to the adrenaline and the ups and the downs and the toxicity shit and you're
like when it's easy and steady and quote unquote boring and healthy you're just like what the fuck
we were we were even talking about how like um we like pick fights for i don't do this now but
in the past when i was younger we like we just like create like make not necessarily make sure
but just like make something a problem or like pick a little fight and just for attention just
for attention just to like because you're so bored because of how like happy and mundane and
good the relationship is you're like I just need some drama right now because I'm so like
this is boring women do that it's crazy we're fucking it's just such a classic thing but um
yeah maturity is realizing that that gets you nowhere in fact that'll get you broken up with
that'll get you like the wrong attention it's just not not good so yeah that's my little nail
salon story I wrote that on my note here I forgot to mention earlier but I got French tips for the
first time she did a really good job I think we were talking for so long that she was like really
working on my nails and like really she's like getting really OCD with it you know because she
was like just chatting for so long that she did them perfectly but I don't think I'm gonna do
the oval French tip I think I'm gonna do more of a ombre French tippy thing or like a nude
pinky that's like really subtle um because I just want my hands to look nice I don't want them to be
like white nails or like something obnoxious no like sparkles or yeah but I think that's it
um trying to think what I'm gonna do now post this or edit this post this make a tiktok make
another TikTok I said this on my I'll just say it on the podcast because like I don't know if you
watch my TikToks but like it's kind of along the lines of what I said earlier it's just this is
just me kind of reflecting on what's happened recently because it's like look you get in the
creator fund and this is like a big deal for me because I haven't I put like two percent more
effort in my TikTok and now I'm monetized like it really was like that for me and I went viral
multiple times like it's I feel like this is meant to happen like I'm cut out for this shit
like this is what I'm supposed to do like I want to do it so it's working out um but I've never
had the kind of engagement with my social media or this podcast that I have on TikTok currently
like it's still blowing blowing up now and it's um it's really interesting because you get a lot
of feedback you get a lot of comments you get a lot of like pushback on your ideas and your
opinions and judgy mean comment you know like people aren't super nice and they feel they feel
comfortable shit talking because it's they're behind a screen you know they're not face to face
with you so I understand I get it I'm not for it but I get it um and I just feel like I'm learning
a lot about the part of my personality that works for the algorithm and I don't love this
I really don't but I'm kind of conflicted because
my arrogance my pick-me-girl arrogant kind of like chill girl um
little bitchy like vibe and just I think it's because of the way I talk so I have a couple
things that I thought about I think it's the way I look and then this tone of voice my cadence I
think that has been working for me because it is triggering to people right like it makes them like
kind of annoyed and like pissed they're like fuck this bitch talking about engagement rings and
or not even fuck this bitch it's just like I don't know I think it's I get maybe it causes
a little rise in people and this is the thing like it's kind of annoying because I don't like I don't
like you can control the thing about social media is you can only control people's perception of
you so much like at the end of the day they're gonna form an opinion about you like you
out way outside of your control like you there's only so much you can do right to keep it like
you know how you want people to think of you and yeah I'm I'm learning that like
it works that kind of when I do my little like hot takes my little like
thing or not even ranch just like when I share my thoughts about
weddings and engagements and stuff that's like against the the norm um it works right like you
get the engagement and then you get paid right and so but then I'm like I'm not annoying like
pick me like a girl who's like people think it's like I'm rage baiting you know but I'm like just
being myself and that's the thing I'm like am I fucking am I an asshole like I'm really like it
makes you question like am I an asshole like no like I'm just I'm just speaking my I'm just being
me but like it comes across like bitchy so then I like I've been thinking about this a lot because
I'm like I can see how people like get fucked up from being an influencer and social media because
it makes you question yourself a little bit where you're just like I know I have good intentions I
know that I'm kind and loving and I want to I want good for all people and all things and I don't
come but I think it's just it's as simple as this like TikTok is where people diarrhea of the mouth
and share their opinions okay it's just that's where that lives and the nature of doing that
publicly for strangers is that you're going to get comments that counter your opinion and counter
or what you just said. And you're going to probably piss some people off. Cause not everyone
thinks like you, right? Like this is like one Oh one communication and conversation. Like that's
just the way it is. So, um, it comes with the territory posting your opinions on Tik TOK, but,
um, I think it has like, there's this angsty aggressiveness about sharing your opinion on
Tik TOK. Like every time someone comes on my for you page or just anyone I follow, like,
and they're chit-chatting about something that's kind of controversial they just come across like
aggressive and it's like I think it's just the nature of like staring right at your phone and
like telling the world off or telling the world your opinion um even though it's not like it's
like you're a nice person you're just yeah so I don't like one thing about me is like I don't
I'm not a fan of like over explaining right and over you like I don't feel a need to
like prove to people that I'm nice like I don't I'm not out to do that like I know that I am so
like I don't I don't need to control people's thoughts if I'm nice or not like I don't even
know them right like you don't even know me but um and I think that's like what Brooke
Schofield now that she's you know being canceled for this racist stuff I see this like when she's
crying and she's doing these apologies I just sense like she's really trying to control people's
perception of her she's really trying to like she says like I know I probably lost a lot of
people's respect and they're probably not going to follow me anymore or watch my stuff and like
I totally understand that and but it's like this effort responding to the cancellation and like
doing all of these apologies and like not going on the cancel podcast with Tana and like
it's just like it's rooted in like trying to control the narrative around you and like at
the end of the day no matter what you do it's out of your control like you can only do so much
to repair that and I feel like not to say like no apology is the best apology I don't think it
should not I think you should at least acknowledge it I don't even know though I don't even know if
she needed to acknowledge it but um it's uh yeah it's out of your hands just be yourself
you know you've got your friends people that know you well and like that's all you need
I know that attention and engagement from strangers positive or negative online is how
we all make our money now so it's like you have to consider that right but at the end of the day
it's such a it's such a mess no matter how you approach it like you're never people are so crazy
on TikTok comments and like social media comments in general like it's like so dramatic right like
you just you'll never win that fight I feel like no matter what you do you're never going to be
everyone's favorite you're always going to piss someone off like I it is what it is and of course
like I'm sure obviously Brooke knows this I think but her even I feel like it's a strategy even to
apologize it's a strategy to not go on Tana's podcast like people are talking about it it's like
I worked in PR for forever like bad press is good press like it's all people are still talking and
saying you're talking about you and saying your name so like I don't know a lot of this I'm just
what was I saying about oh controlling how people perceive you yeah with my TikTok though and like
this whole it's like not even anything it's such a nothing burger like when I boil down like what
I'm even discussing it's like I'm just literally talking about rings engagements weddings like
bridal stuff like in the grand scheme of life in the world like it this is so unimportant right
But within it, I've created drama and I've created this conversation and it's like, I don't know, it's just weird.
And again, the other struggle, the other internal struggle I deal with all the time is just feeling like as a content creator, I'm contributing to this garbage pile of the internet where it's like, what should I be talking?
like okay so if what I'm talking about yeah it's relevant to me in my life because I'm getting
married it's matters to me but like if I really want to quote unquote be the change I wish to see
in the world which is my you know big overarching goal in life it's like how can I be what I want
other people to be or like how can I emulate what what's the quote how can I be the change I wish to
see in the world right it's like now what topics should I educate myself on and talk about that
are actually more beneficial to society than like whether or not the man should pick out their
engagement ring or if you should help him with it like you know what I mean because then I feel like
that alone just me making that video and that going viral is just like a nonsensical topic
it's like it it's a but it all falls under the umbrella of life and life experience and what a
lot of people experience in life it doesn't always have to be which is getting married and getting
engaged it doesn't always have to be like how do we end the world wars and how do we solve hunger
and and how do we end climate change or whatever like how do you know there's a time and a place
I think there's people that do that I mean but again it does make you second guess yourself you
go okay I'm not mean I'm actually nice and I'm I don't know why like I come across that way I guess
it's just how I talk I guess and also like should I even be talking about this topic in the first
place because it feels so like bullshit so but that's what it's kind of one of those things like
we all participate in it and as long as we're all participating in the bubble gum pop social media
content that we see as long as we're engaging with it liking it sending each other
funny videos and commenting on TikTok drama and stuff. Like it's just going to continue. Like
we're being rewarded to do this kind of brainless nonsensical shit. And as a content creator on the
other side, who's making the content, you recognize that. And then you fall into this
cycle of like, well, this is what the audience likes. This is what's being talked about in the
zeitgeist. Like this is what's hot right now. And if you take a step back and really look at what
you're even making content on. It's like, this is so bullshit. Like I used to not have a tick
tock. It's funny. I used to like delete it. Cause I was like, this is like bad for my brain. And
now I'm a fucking like tick tocker. So whenever this is what I always go back to, I think I
remember this Gary V quote from like fucking 2014, whenever I get like this and I do this, like
spiral second-guessing thing or it's not really second-guessing just kind of like
analyzing the situation I always remember this Gary V quote about social media and
the changing tides of the internet and technology and he basically without quoting him
word by word because it's like I'm gonna butcher it's like don't fight the system like the people
that are gonna succeed and get ahead in this life at this current time because the real world and
the phone world are kind of enmeshed and basically becoming one at this point the people that are
gonna succeed and do well are going to embrace that and they're gonna like get on that wave and
make the most out of it instead of fighting it and try and trying to like resist it and trying to
like you know so because it's easy to think in my brain I'm like it's how it's always the the
number one thing you think is like it's healthy to not be on my phone all day it's healthier it's
better for me to not be addicted to my phone all day it's unhealthy to be nonsensically posting
TikToks about random bullshit and like scrolling on your friends pages and their stories all day
and like, whatever you think one's better than the other, but like, we don't really know. This
is like me justifying my social media addiction. No, like all I know is that I have
benefited from participating in the online playground. I have benefited personally
in my own brain and body like I have there are so many resources I've tapped into there are so
many opportunities I've tapped into that exist online that I've embraced and I've been rewarded
from like participating in then the out oh my god what is this end of the episode like this is so
classic this is so classic hi we're in a spiral it's the end of the episode I'm not ending it
um so I just think of it as like okay that's a net positive like that overall has been good for me
I think it's wishful thinking to go back in time and go oh well that it's better to be
basking in a field with a goat and not having social media like I don't know I have fun I have
fun I think it's uh my life feels balanced I feel like I've got a lot of good things in play and
they're all moving me in a positive direction um I think here's how you know this is how you know
if it's getting bad if your phone addiction is getting bad if there are areas in your life
that are glaringly like regressing they're just like it's a constant like I know I need to do
that or I know I should be better at this or I know I should start working out or I know I should
And it's like, you're not, or like starting that business or that fucking whatever.
If you're not taking action on certain areas in your life that you like know you should be,
but yet you're, oh, this is so like obvious. Oh my God. Am I just saying the most obvious thing
right now? Okay. Let's, let's make this more broad. If you're regressing in major pillars
of life like finances relationships health um community like if you're going backwards in those
areas and you're now five years later post-covid almost five years holy shit in 2025 that'll be
five years and you're looking back in time you're like what have i done in the last five years
and there's areas in your life you've just totally stalled on like it's probably because
you've been looking at your fucking phone all day i feel like this is the case for like so many
people like and I said this in the beginning it fucks with your concept of time like you
piss away so much life looking down at your phone this is so obvious but like literally and if you
really think of it like that you got it and I saw this TikTok I don't want to play it it's like
everything's related to like what you see online right I saw this TikTok but this guy was making
a point this girl was complaining about like I don't get up before the sun I don't have I don't
work out five days a week I don't drink lemon water I don't whatever she's basically acting
or just bitching about how she's not like a type a like go-getter type person she's a sloth and she
just like doesn't give a shit and she was kind of like champing that or like that was like
you know so what that I'm this way but this guy made a response and he's like
at some point as an adult you realize that you can't keep acting like a child like you have to
grow up like you have to you you realize like you have the same amount of time as everyone else
in a day like you have to capitalize on that time you have and you have to fucking grind you have to
get after it um otherwise if you're just making up these complaints and excuses like nothing ever
gets done you don't move forward in life and then you live the same life every single year
it's like same shit different year and who wants that I mean some people it's like yeah I'm living
life I'm in the moment it is what it is I but if you're deep down wanting more out of life like
it's you gotta like fucking put your fucking boots on and get to work you know try just try a little
bit harder like like I said I fucking put two percent more effort in my TikTok just two percent
like I literally I've been making TikToks I did something a little different just something a
little different viral hi monetize like and I'm consistent I think that's the other other thing
and that's the core value or the core word and Corey and I in our relationship the number one
thing he told me on the first date is like he's all about consistency like that's how you can
maintain a good relationship as you there's not like highs and lows and ups and downs it's like
you know you're consistently good to each other consistent that's our word consistency same goes
with your life like that's it so that's the end of the episode officially holy shit oh my god was
