Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up, guys? It's episode 95. I'm in a U-Haul recording this on the road right now. Welcome back to the show. hi guys what's up it's Jacqueline uh my mom's here with me we're in a U-Haul right now going back home hi guys hi mom okay so we just had McDonald's we're past where are we Leavenworth Washington we just passed through went to McDonald's we got my aunt in front of us in a 20-foot U-Haul we're in the 10-footer I've been telling this story all week we had a U-Haul fiasco on friday i talked about that yesterday we packed up two houses five women doing that and now we're moving home so we're doing this on the road fuck it i don't know if the sound's
Starting point is 00:01:05 gonna be good i don't care we're having fun i gotta make chicken in my tummy i got some i got a four-piece chicken mcnugget a little diet coke not proud of that whatever my mom offered me some pepperoni sticks earlier and i looked at the cottonseed oil in the ingredient list it freaked me out but here i am eating fucking chicken nuggets i don't know how that works in my brain but apparently i i don't know okay so let's update you guys on our morning uh we're currently by the way in the snow looking at the mountains staring at the back ass back of my excuse me with duallys we got we got a u-haul a 20-foot u-haul with duallys on the back that's double double wheels if you're new uh my aunt's driving that bitch she's a former school bus driver so
Starting point is 00:01:49 we trust her with that wide load anyways there's a scene i'm wearing a hoodie my mom's got her little patagonia on we're looking chill we're gonna take selfies in our headsets a little later we're wearing call center headsets amazon 30 launch my podcast with call center employee headsets yeah so that's this that's the scene that's the attire let's do this so this morning Let's see. We woke up. Uh, I woke up to my mom downstairs, my grandma chit chatting, watching the news, drinking coffee, getting breakfast ready. I'm overhearing it all, but I'm asleep enjoying my little Sunday morning. And, uh, I woke up kind of hungover cause we had wine last night. I was feeling it for whatever reason. Um, but I've been saying
Starting point is 00:02:33 this whole trip and my mom, I keep telling her this. Usually when I drink this much alcohol, I feel awful all the time like I feel hung over all the time I have headaches but for whatever reason I've been having like I don't know like 10 times more alcohol than I've drank all year because like I drink at home during quarantine maybe over the course of the year I've had like five drinks like I just don't buy alcohol or drink so the fact that I've been like daily drinking with my mom and my family and not feeling like shit is insane but it's fine anyways this morning I feel like it hit me and I woke up kind of feeling like shit. So I jumped in a cold shower and cause I wasn't going to go downstairs and look unpresentable. Like, fuck no. I had to like
Starting point is 00:03:13 get my self put together, showered, took a cold shower. Uh, I dunno, is this interesting? Went downstairs. My grandpa, he was, uh, he was cutting an apple on the couch. It was so funny. He had his, he had his pocket knife out. He always carries a pocket knife in his pants and he had that, he had that whipped out and he's sitting there with our uh well his 14 year old dog she's a cockapoo cocker spaniel poodle she's sitting next to him and he's cutting this apple eating slices of slices of apple drinking coffee so funny to see and then my grandma and my mom are talking they're in their pjs we're in a cabin i talked about that yesterday we're staying in a we were in a cabin by the river in winthrop washington that's where we stayed overnight before we moved
Starting point is 00:04:00 back today and anyways it was just it was a sweet morning we had a little fire going my sister and i we went out into the hot tub took some pictures um what else happened we had a great breakfast my grandma and grandpa brought their eggs from their farm uh to like they brought them on the trip tons of eggs so my grandma made this giant thing of scrambled eggs they were so good she made waffles we had fruit she made like i guess like apple cider we had in little wine glasses my cousin came my little cousin bella came anyways it was a chill morning we basically ate breakfast and then hit the road um i don't know we're doing this midday i haven't like we haven't done a lot of shit all i know is the seahawks are playing right now i don't even know
Starting point is 00:04:45 what the score is because we're gonna pay attention that today let me just put it in how are you guys doing what are you doing today Seahawks mom do you want to say anything well what are you doing right now I'm looking at the Seahawks score oh yeah I want to know the score to the Seahawks evidently they're going to do well today well they're playing um but you know the Seahawks can do well in the beginning and then get behind yeah so Seahawks game I don't think we have reception out here in the mountains I mean look at your rearview mirror what there are like 20 cars behind us and it's not because we got two big u-hauls it's because in front of the u-haul in front of us that aunt annie's in there's a big truck with a snow plow oh he's holding up
Starting point is 00:05:33 the line he won't pull over i'm not gonna pull over shit oh that yeah yeah yeah see that yeah he's got a big blade on the front i'm not gonna pass him let's bitch him out well no no no ford with the plow on the front here here's a split lane here's a split lane this will save the day show yeah last time i pulled over my last trip holland your sister's house stuff over there um i pulled over to let a big truck by and i got stuck in the snow so i'm not pulling over today then go around fucking ford with the plow on the front you fucking slow you know what's really funny we've been bitching all day okay can i just say this real quick mom come on yeah i know i'm being rude okay people are gonna be like that's how you talk to your mom I feel like I cut you
Starting point is 00:06:17 off right there sorry no no no I was just gonna say the silly thing is we're all gonna end up at the stop sign within minutes of each other so why it's not even worth passing each other that's my whole point true but just for my ego I need to see this truck behind us because he's going slow so we're at this point in the trip where we're like ready to be done but we literally have to go home we what are the u-hauls returning tomorrow uh no i'm these two trucks are going back tonight okay so literally today we have to unload two houses worth of fucking furniture in our uh garage we have to go to three different houses to my grandma's house my aunt's house and our house because we're all taking shit uh or unloading and so it's gonna be a long night we're
Starting point is 00:07:05 just at the point where we're cussing people out swearing getting pissed off everything's funny and like we're heated but like we were pulling into a parking lot uh when we got mcdonald's because we had to pee and get food and there was a stupid toyota like just dumb toyota acting confused driving in our way in the parking lot and we're these two big ass u-hauls trying to make their way through and he's just like it's like we kept saying read the room like can you not see we're trying to get in here anyways we're just on that we're at that we're in that mode of I don't know I'm just like I'm like delusional about this I even said we were talking about unloading tonight and how apparently we're gonna set up a king-size bed somehow put a mattress
Starting point is 00:07:51 through the house and like set up a huge bed tonight apparently that's gonna happen come hell or high water and I'm so delusionally excited about it that I'm like I can't fight this we got to do it we have to unload everything this is oddly kind of fun and i feel like i'm just gonna hit that zombied out tired just going through the motions lifting furniture getting sweaty crying face and mom we will be having a drink tonight after this shit i will be not me i think i'm turning into a drinker yeah no you're not we're just it's a holiday mom but after this big ass trip and our final unloading you're not going to sit down have a beverage no i got a big week ahead of me mom's going to savannah back in and then i'm back on that rower i gotta make up
Starting point is 00:08:38 jesus we're sick of hearing what you're on on friday i gotta make up 25 000 mom's better than us she rose for charity no i just you know i gotta i gotta hit it hard starting monday no drinks tonight no wake up feeling good i know you can do what you want to do but i'm just saying I feel like it's going to be like that. Oh, no. Just like, God. Not for me. Especially after we undo the bed.
Starting point is 00:09:02 That's why I want these trucks back tonight because I want to wake up tomorrow at 4 o'clock, you know the drill, and just start my day. And not have two trucks looking at me. Yeah. And everything's no touch, check in, check out. So it's not like I'm going to see an attendant and go through paperwork. It's so different. COVID. We talked a lot about COVID, too, on the drive here.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Beautiful. beautiful isn't it no i was saying we talked about covid us too yeah but it's different now because you know i've been on my own all year my mom's been um you know adjusting like we all have and we just talked for a long time on this trip so far today about it and um it's really fascinating mom you like it really hot i do i'm always cold i know well i had two two down coats on but i took off i know but you like it hot yeah boiling she likes it the temperature in their car all the way up anyways and it's weird i'm not being a wussy about the cold because you know i haven't been home in a year and i live in california and it's always you know warm but it's not as bone chilling
Starting point is 00:10:10 as i guess i thought it would be i don't know so i'm doing fine okay let's talk about what we're coming up against um for the rest of the day uh i don't know we got unloading basically guys this is like the gist of it woke up had a family breakfast hit the road stopped got some food took a piss that sounds so tacky i'm just at that point i feel so tacky and uh now we're just going to finish off the drive and as soon as we get home it's like go unload lift everything out of the trucks then return the trucks tonight and that's our day we got to talk about the strategy because your sister she don't like it when mama stands on the truck and i don't bark out orders but you know you guys are handing me stuff i'm packing and what i'm thinking about is i don't
Starting point is 00:11:02 want anything scratched i don't anything broken so i'm you know it's a thoughtful pack how you do a big load like these two so our strategy though tonight so we we don't have to have julia boss us around we're going to let her be the boss on the truck handing us stuff and we're just going to be two little labor minimum wage workers that's it no complaining nothing just go go go go go and it's going to be done so fast and here's the funny thing that truck No, the truck we're in, it's her whole household. This has nothing to do with us. We're driving her house right now.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Yeah, we are. We're driving her house. But we're going to unload the truck like rock stars. So much enthusiasm. We are going to be people of service. Yeah. And no complaining. And she's going to be barking out orders.
Starting point is 00:11:52 And she's going to think that we scratched something of hers. That's always funny. Yeah. That's always funny. Love my sister. I don't know. is this like bad like i am the type of sibling and i think our whole family's like this i feel as soon as i feel myself talking about my other sibling with my parents like behind not behind
Starting point is 00:12:13 there we don't do that but i feel weird about it like we're not talking bad about my sister because she would say it about herself she's hilarious yeah so yeah but we're just saying like we're gonna be enthusiastic like yeah let's get this shit done let's just whatever you want julia we'll do it for you let's face it she's the queen she is i mean she's um the boss she's a prosecutor and it's hard for her to be number two man yeah so let's you and i'll just be two and three man we're gonna let her be one man because it will go off so well yeah we'll get it done rapidly i get in my mindset and it kind of was like this at heidi's when we were unloading the yeah we're packing her house yesterday i get and it's not negative i don't mom don't think that this is
Starting point is 00:12:55 like a bad thing i get psychotic about it i'm just like how much like can i exert myself how much speed and efficiency and power when i lift shit i'm like i'm doing a deadlift right now i'm getting this treadmill lifted up i'm putting this couch in the back you get kind of like psychotic like you have to the the more the better you perform the moving job like the physical lifting and it's more it's efficient what was that big machine we were moving it was the most complicated heavy dead left machine elliptical that we is that what that was the treadmill no the treadmill was the elliptical yeah because you know what there was so much damage that could have been done to the machine let alone uh the hardwood wood floors where the surfaces you know were we had we had to
Starting point is 00:13:46 go up and down little stairs oh my god so literally this is i mean it could be worse shove it up a ramp you know how heavy that is and the ramps there was so much to lose and then my fingers your fingers we could have lost our fingers yeah and then it starts pedaling as if it's working out if you grab it a certain way at the end of the day we did it we did it at the end of the day i know i could start a moving company i know i could you can do what i could start a moving company oh absolutely we were like professional movers yesterday you should have seen my aunt my aunt annie she's at the she's a drive she's driving the u-haul the 20 footer in front of us former school bus driver and she was the best drill like she saw the angles she had
Starting point is 00:14:30 the dollies because we had two dollies to wheel the heavy shit around and she was seeing the angles because here's the thing we had to deal with yesterday i don't know why we're talking about the specifics about moving furniture it's fascinating but it's like listen to a scientist talk about uh i don't know plate tectonics or geologists i don't know it's just details here we go my uh what was i saying annie oh no the biggest hassle yesterday was my the house we were moving it wasn't two stories i mean imagine that putting it yeah so that would even be worse that would have been worse way more complicated but the are we going by stevens yeah we're going right past the ski resort in about two miles we're passing stevens pass ski resort roads look
Starting point is 00:15:15 pretty darn good yeah the roads are we're a little bit worried about the slickness the ice because there's snow up here no it's all good it's clear we got hey we got the fucking ford up there with a plow yeah i know he'll help us out he's actually maybe it's smart to follow that dude we don't want professional yeah we got to keep in front of us see all these cars are going to start screaming by us they got four-wheel drive go baby go get it oh yeah now they got the second yeah they'll just start blowing our doors off welcome to the u-haul life here we go they'll roll their vehicle fucking dodge what's next oh subaru here comes a fucking subaru bitch fucking waste your fucking oil oh they got a hula dancer in the front on the dash oh yeah bitch we're just this is how we talk
Starting point is 00:16:02 when we're just like out of it here what's next well they're they're falling in line they're staying behind us you stay back there yeah anyways so quick i'll just say this quickly we had baby steps to go down and it was so annoying because we couldn't just wheel the treadmill and the elliptical out of the house easily on one level because in her house there's a living room that's kind of set down it by it's a one step down and so every we had to go down one step up the next step to get through the house like on the other side and the floors are cherry hardwood and i didn't want to put one scratch in those floors oh my gosh i mean the house is sold it's pending it's not gonna go backwards but i was thinking it's quite possible on those steps with how heavy
Starting point is 00:16:53 that eucalyptus no you what's it called that machine the eucalyptus machine yeah the eucalyptus machine yeah it's so heavy i thought it's quite possible it could catch and actually crack a piece of the step and i you know i just didn't want that to happen yeah and we're professionals we had rugs underneath that bitch we had like padding job we did a good job but it was so frustrating because as we went down the first step we're looking at the next step we got to go up and then we got to go down the garage steps out through the garage and then we have to make it up the ramp into the u-haul that was dicey that was scary and i was i thought that was scary i wore nike fucking air forces and i was just like okay i mean first of all it's snowing at
Starting point is 00:17:40 her house and this icy ramp i got to go up was not very grippy and it was just fun you know i was on the elliptical once we were joking around i'll probably post this on instagram i was i was in the elliptical having my mom's looking like a five-year-old she's wearing overalls sitting up on the mattress in the back of the u-haul i'm on the elliptical riding it having fun burning off energy just laughing my ass off because i was actually having fun yeah anyways what else could we bitch about okay here comes a big boy what's it he is ripping he's probably at 65 miles an hour go baby go what's the make oh yeah look at that a big fucking dodge the fucking dodges ram he's blowing us up dodges i'm triggered he's probably five
Starting point is 00:18:26 three bitch here comes some more boy they're rolling it's people are if you're confused people are passing us here's the deal when they all car pile up they're gonna need us to call 911 put tourniquets on them take our clothes off shove it in the holes in their bodies to save their lives they're gonna need us so i'm glad we're driving fucking ford flexes they're not ford flexes aren't they're not it comes another subaru it's like a it's like a chevy that's a mom soccer what's up what's up with the subarus in washington i don't know there's a lot of subarus i don't drive a subaru we'll never drive one the vibe i get from subaru drivers now my cousin is she's got a brand new Subaru so she's probably gonna take offense to
Starting point is 00:19:10 this the vibe I get though is like what's the vibe it's like especially no no let's just say it I'm just gonna say it in the state of Washington boys and girls women and men ladies and gentlemen it's called a dyke car now that is not negative coming out of my mouth I'm just stating well the facts Time out, time out. It's the Subarus that's the larger size Subaru. What's the size? It's like the crossover Subaru? Yeah, like they're the bigger Subarus, and the women driving them,
Starting point is 00:19:41 God bless their souls, whatever, they're like middle-aged, silver hair. Gray hair, short cuts. Librarian slash dyke. Pedal to the metal. I don't really know. We don't know. No put-downs. I'm just saying, I'm just stating the facts.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I mean, it's just what it is. Stating the facts. But young kids. It's snowboarders. kids have them all yeah yeah snowboarders but young kids have them all tricked out dark windows they got 54 stickers on the back showing what they are pnw pride yeah anyways yeah so it's all good it's cool mom it's okay i every time i talk on the podcast i'm like i just offended 14 different people because i talked about 14 offensive topics and i go you know what you know what
Starting point is 00:20:23 jacqueline as long as you're true to your soul it doesn't matter because you're not waking up every day trying to hurt somebody i know you're just doing your very best it's all you can do in the world we live in now anytime anybody opens their mouth it's so sensitive in the world yeah there it is yeah the forester there we go passing us that's a nice color though did you see that's not black it's like silver are the triggering ones silver foresters are that one's like a dark blue midnight blue well let me reflect on that for a sec mom thanks for saying that i have to uh admit that you in a world in the cancel culture world we live in in the world of everything's offensive people are triggered you can't talk you can't just talk shit without
Starting point is 00:21:11 pissing people off like i am i didn't grow up in that environment i don't vibe with that no i don't like to tip dance tiptoe and tap dance around everything i say it's to be politically correct for everyone like you can't there's no way to live and so you have to know my heart and soul and it is I'm like I don't want to hurt a fly I don't want to kill a spy like I'm I genuinely love people and I I don't I'm not like I'm not judgmental of what people choose to do with their life or who they are what anything I don't judge people at all like I'm all about whatever makes you happy it's it's cool with me I don't care but if I make comments that are stereotypes or you know yeah you know thoughts that are I don't know it's like out of it's not I don't mean to
Starting point is 00:22:04 offend it offend people and you say it's like what you talk about Jacqueline I'm gonna tell you something yeah hold on let me interrupt you I just thought of this about you know me about a year ago for the first time um I get a phone call get get the business over with two days later I hear from the person I was talking to on the phone from that person's boss that the tone of my voice was, um, sounded like a privileged white woman. Um, I was so offended. I got in my car, I drove to that agency and I hunted down the person that said that. And I had, um, a conversation about that good and and um i i was so i was so sad that that happened and on this particular situation the supervisor um thought that i thought the person
Starting point is 00:23:03 was of a certain culture i had no idea i was just talking to a person they were using that against you it was against like using your so i got a woman and your wife yeah yeah so i gotta tell you i got on all the social media of this person middle-aged liberal gray hair woman super driver yeah there's another well uh uh and just entitled had an no well no no no had an opinion um i don't even know this person and and the funny thing is the person on the phone the guy on the phone he kind of thought it was all funny and it it's so it's just you just got to stay true to your core get up every day be a good person if you knowingly offend somebody apologize of course and if somebody says you know what you said the other day on the podcast you know it kind of put
Starting point is 00:23:56 me off um something generic or or heartfelt not generic but hey listen that's not what i i'm sorry it's not what I was trying to do at all and I'm working on that because here's the thing I know I have an easy here's the thing too though I'm interrupting you sorry but here's the thing too you can spend your whole entire life especially women saying I'm sorry I'm sorry oh I'm sorry oh I'm sorry oh I'm sorry so that can be so that can be a broken record too anyway well didn't mean to get sidetracked let's get on it I feel like this good topic because I never hit I never really hit a topic home I'm bouncing all over the place but I'm working on that part of myself because I it happened to me with you the other day where I will I'm just I got a loose mouth sometimes a loose
Starting point is 00:24:44 cannon and I know on the show that I'm sure my loose mouth sometimes someone might hear a little phrase I say or a little segment of the podcast and be you know put off by it or upset or offended So I get that. So something I'm working on is, I mean, I can't be a hundred percent, but I'm just trying to keep tabs on myself and make, you know, pull the reins back a little bit here and there. But I'll say this about white privilege, women, that thing that happened to you. Hold on, baby. Did you just hear that? We're shifting down. Oh my gosh. Are we in black ice? No, we're good.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Okay. Hold on. Let me set the scene right now. Oh my God. Jack, I'm scared of heights. Well, hold on here. It just, I got to get it out of tow. Where's that dang tow button? It's different on this truck. Is that the tow?
Starting point is 00:25:29 Yeah, that's the tow button. Whoa, did you hear that baby shift down? Listen to the engine. Dude, guys, let me set the stage. Mom, I got to tell them the scenery right now. There we go. There, it just shifted. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Oh, my God. And the hairpin's coming up. Oh, fuck. Mom, let me set the stage. I got to do this for people. We got, on the right, I'm scared of heights, a cliff. Yeah, that's big. there's a snow uh the only thing that's blocking us from this cliff is a is a bunch of snow the
Starting point is 00:25:55 plow has pushed off to the side it's a straight cliff then on the mom's side of the car the left side is a mountain with a bunch of icicles and snow and trees rocks it's like we're going through it's a cliff too it's a cliff and we're going downhill it's a highway this is the pass and we're about to hit a hairpin a sharp turn and we're in a u-haul my aunt's in front of us in a 20 footer but she's got the dualies and she keeps breaking too she keeps tapping those breaks let's copy her motions i know she taps and i tap them yeah she taps we tap because the hairpin's coming up it's big it's scary it's what do you call it we're like bobsledding i mean look around us it's like a wonderland isn't that amazing there's waterfalls avalanche down over there avalanched
Starting point is 00:26:40 out yeah this is like where people come to ski and it's beautiful here this is like washington 101 this environment is like oh there's a train is that a train yeah that's where the train goes through over there it's like the polar express vibes oh totally yeah totally that's what it is and it's there's like you can't really see the tops in the mountains because it's snowing up there it's like uh what's the word foggy kind of or whatever oh my god we're going down fast what's the speed 50 yeah but i i uh i don't want to have that toe that's shifted down i i can put it in first myself or second i mean it's as simple as you lose control here on this turn and we're off the cliff oh easily i mean holy shit yeah dude this is a live action entertainment i mean
Starting point is 00:27:30 yeah see look at her look at her oh she's taking that fast yes she is annie slow down baby she took that fast slow down baby brake shift down what gear oh she's getting in the other lane so i better too okay here it's well now we're in the s curves oh fuck but i'm telling you when you see the hairpin you'll know what i'm talking about okay so you know what we're talking about oh i want to get back to us saying about the privilege shit oh what were you gonna say that well what i was gonna say what's so funny when you go skiing we'd come screaming up this mountain or whatever mountain we were you know skiing on no care in the world didn't matter what the conditions were because we were going skiing oh yeah we're so worried about our lives and we're actually in
Starting point is 00:28:14 a safer situation i think we are we're in a big ass fucking 10 foot year old bitch oh god okay let me talk about let me keep my mind off this hairpin by talking about this i feel like now if you look like you have your shit together first of all we're white women in america all right that's just what it is not saying it's negative not saying it's positive just that's information that's what it is white women in america and conventionally attractive whatever like we're not i mean that's part of the i feel like that's part of what makes us a target sometimes we have our shit together we're uh hard work we're hard working we have our shit together earned what we have exactly we've earned what we have i mean i'm not hold on how many women all women
Starting point is 00:29:00 loaded these i know i told that story yesterday oh did you i didn't know that yeah five women doing this but my point is if it it's like in order for us to not be because i get it too in fact i got a dm a couple weeks ago about the fact that i would i oh you come from a white rich family you have a pool your mom's like someone came at me i know like okay but my point is it's as if nowadays you gotta have you learn something from that it's as if nowadays you have to have a missing limb or you know uh ailment you've got like if i had um you know if i was blind or whatever for people to not be so quick to like i don't know you have to have some sort of like issue going on you gotta talk about depression mental health you gotta have something
Starting point is 00:29:56 wrong with you if you're fine if you have your shit together especially if you're a white person a white woman and you're not you're not like i don't use it does that make sense well it's like it's like you have to have some sort of problem well here's ailment for people to like take you seriously here's the thought here's the thought um in the world we live in regardless of what country you're in well let's just focus on the u.s of a uh when you are born and nobody asks to be born when you're born into the world and your skin is white um generally speaking you have an easier road up ahead of you yeah and so we all know that And, and, and that, um, has been, has been put under a magnifying glass and, um, I, for
Starting point is 00:30:56 the first time in a, what, a 35 year career was accused of something that I, I, I was innocent of. Yeah. Now I wasn't innocent of being born white, but I can't help that. Well, you can't, well, that's it. You're innocent. I didn't know the person on the other end of the phone. I didn't know that person's backstop at all.
Starting point is 00:31:18 And then it was a white middle-aged woman who came after me, and it was being blindsided like on a football field. I had no idea what was going on. Yeah. But do you see how, like, they can't hate you if you're, for example, um does that like they can if you have everything going on all your shit together healthy white woman man whatever and you're not the if you have like something really wrong with you like you're in a wheelchair disabled something like that yeah it's not like they can hey it's just different
Starting point is 00:31:58 yeah it's like the world you know we're so we are privileged we have it so good but then i noticed that that makes you kind of an easy target for people to pop at you only if you allow it people that pop at me i smile right because you know what every day when we get up the personal goal is to do a little bit better than yesterday and certainly it certainly isn't to hurt anybody no and i can't control i can only control myself you can only control yourself So if somebody DM'd you that was offended, take a listen, take a read, see that person's perspective. Don't just look at your side of the hand. Look at that other side.
Starting point is 00:32:45 And if there's something to be learned by it, learn, flush it, and move on. Yeah. That's all you can do. It makes me feel guilty, though, sometimes when I'm like, like, for example, I'm, like, it's weird. I'm in my mid twenties looking at my life and I'm like, my 18 year old self would be pinching herself. Like, Holy shit. Like you put, like you pulled that off. And then at the end of the day, I did this myself. Like everything about my life, I've earned it. Like you said, and I forget sometimes that I feel, I feel guilty sometimes about it. Cause I'm like, I know I have it good.
Starting point is 00:33:27 I know I am privileged and I have but you're not privileged but I'm I'm saying like I'm fortunate to have what I have that I've earned on my own I was in the same place as everyone coming out of college or excuse me high school I got myself through college I got myself into the workplace into careers so I I did all that I see my point is like I forget like some people have it 10 times worse and so when they see it if you're judging me from the internet or whatever you're in tune with my shit or tuning into my shit like it might seem like what you were that lady said like some sort of like a female white privilege advantage whatever you want to call it well i just like hate that because i feel like okay what am i supposed to do
Starting point is 00:34:13 ignore obviously live my life and i can't make everyone happy i don't even i gotta tell you something and this might seem bizarre or shallow i never even gave all this um white privilege stuff a second thought it's it's something i don't think about it's something i don't care about yeah and because of how i was raised how our family functions how my career has unfolded and it's all about people and getting up every day and helping and serving people in front of you and but there's this whole political layer going on that's becoming very loud and obnoxious and which is good i actually think this is kind of twisted i actually think donald trump needed to be in office so we can have these conversations and blow it all up yeah i agree and then social
Starting point is 00:35:19 media of course you know at any given second of the day anybody most anybody not everybody can but in general people can be online reading all this stuff it's awesome it's either did you say awesome well the whole fact wait what were you saying is exposed and it has exposed it all so it's gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets a whole lot better well at the end of the day i feel like i'm giving this a lot more energy and time than i want to and i kind of tripped up there i i don't mean to say that in order for me to be taken seriously i need to be missing a leg like that sounded weird it didn't come out right i'm just saying that it says people love to people like to bond over the internet about other people's
Starting point is 00:36:09 oppression and everyone's babysitting each other's oppression and like this group has you know is underprivileged in this way and oppressed so we're gonna go support them but it's not like there's a support group there it's not like there needs to be one for people to have their shit together and that are fine and that don't really have a lot of like we're we're lucky in that way and so sometimes you feel guilty about it that's what i'm saying i feel guilty about it sometimes i'm like i have it so good and i get why people see it the way they do sometimes but i don't know find a way to serve serve them serve um people in a less fortunate situation there's always going to be somebody more fortunate. There's always going to be somebody less fortunate. And in some
Starting point is 00:37:00 people's world, we're the less fortunate ones. That's true. Very true. I mean, think about it. Jeff Bezos is looking at us like a little ant. I mean, yeah, that Amazon CEO. I mean, we are like poverty stricken compared to that dude. Yeah, that's a great way to look at it. I mean, all his crazy vans and trucks and airplanes bringing boxes all over the world. That makes me crazy Jacqueline well it's like a that's a great perspective because that that's that makes me realize there's levels to this shit and yeah there's always someone way above you someone always way below you don't don't keep a scorecard who cares exactly and that who cares just love people help people and we do and the thing is at the end of the day it's like just stay in your
Starting point is 00:37:41 lane work on yourself if you're a better person you can help other people you can do better for them and you're you know it's all a trickle-down effect think less about i yeah and more about them but take care of yourself put your mask on before yeah that's a plain thing you gotta take if you get if you get if mother theresa used to say i take care of the one so when she takes care of herself she was able to take care of yeah more people mother trees of calcutta we need to travel there i want to go my mom is a very uh service service oriented saint-like woman and she takes on we've talked about i think on the other show a few days ago like you take on other people's um you are so you feel so much for other people which is amazing like you feel
Starting point is 00:38:32 uh like you can put yourself in their body and say this you can feel their pain really that could be me man i was just born into this another dodge hey those dodge rams boy he just about had a head on i mean whoa and i'm sure i'm sure your sister's back there because i can see her car her big fbi black tire car rims i'm sure she's saying some really foul language about that driver real foul language i wish she had a headset on she oh look at him here oh he's passing it he's maniac he's drinking the 20 foot u-haul in front of us right now oh gosh he's so lucky that's probably got a little alcohol on board that guy was erratic driver okay um what else is there oh i wanted to compliment you i mean this i forgot to tell you this earlier so my hair
Starting point is 00:39:25 today yeah it looks great no that's a joke it does okay this is about this is about watching you and Bella so this is a compliment like I was so taken back and just so in awe of you playing with Bella being her auntie Bella's if you're new my cousin she's almost two yeah oh she's so lovely and my mom transforms into this magical like adult friend for bella that's so like fun and playful and nice and just like so in her world like my mom to witness my the compliment is that you're an amazing i know you were such an amazing mom to all three of us because if that's how you treated us of course it is I'm like I had such a good mom because I'm for the first time in my life I'm witnessing my mom because it's I don't have kids yet none of my siblings do it's my
Starting point is 00:40:25 cousin so I'm with I'm witnessing at his at an adult age because when my cousins and all of us were younger I didn't it wasn't a thing but now that I'm in my 20s watching you take care of a little girl it's like the coolest thing and I I just am like wow thank you for like where does that come from how are you so you know i don't naturally good at it's the best job in the world i'm nurturing i'm nurturing being a mother's natural easy peasy but you treat her like an equal well listeners out there but if you mess with my children i'm a mama bear mama bear mm-hmm um i just think i just think when i was born into the world jacqueline just like you just like your listeners um you're born in with a certain soul and that's my soul
Starting point is 00:41:17 and so i ride with it it's i'm naturally that way it's easy peasy motherly well it's just easy to i good with kids like really good with kids well they're they're just this little human being in in an adult world and and um they need like like vela so it was getting late last night we were having all that dinner grandma cooked and yeah it was grandma and grandpa's 64th 61st wedding anniversary crazy and you know it's it's getting kind of late eight o'clock i don't know so it's you know it's past little kids bedtime and so she's starting to goofing off and well what i witnessed in a lot of places over the years is adults start getting mean to the little kids but they don't know the little child is in an adult world and um i don't know i just connect with
Starting point is 00:42:08 i just connect with kids in general but that's how i parented you guys i mean it's easier to get down on the ground and sit with bella and talk about things than it is standing up staring down at her it's that simple well it's just so like incredible to watch because it's like a first-time experience because it makes me want to give you so many grandchildren like i just want to have and even like when i was hanging out with her i had that um the thought in my head that yeah i want this do you see how warm and social she is yeah and that's a direct reflection of her parents and her mom. And now this is, so here's little Bella about going to be two years old. I am around families and children all the time because of my line of work.
Starting point is 00:42:55 And I'm telling you something, there are children that stand in front of me that I get down on the ground with because their parents are filling out paperwork and whatnot. And you can tell that child is in in a toxic screaming unstable household and that you know so here's bella in a stable hard-working household um she's around people a lot that's why she's social and she's so kind and gentle and you can take a child that's born in a in a more difficult household and it it's so unfortunate it's sad well they're more sad shy and scared to be yeah and you could just you can see it in their eyes they're shell shocked they don't yeah well bella says hi and hello to people on the street like she's yeah she's friendly it's really cool because she's hearing her mother and
Starting point is 00:43:45 employees say hello how are you your room is ready for you at the resort so you know she's just mimicking but she's in a very pleasant nurturing environment anyways i had to say that oh that's nice thank you and i was telling julia about that we were talking about it because we're like gonna be future moms and we're watching you take care of and we're like i can't wait for this shit i can i know i can trust you with our kids because you're just like well of course i would i mean trust me when i had three in diapers three in diapers three baby seats facing backwards there were moments where i did not look like that mother talking to bella this weekend yeah you know you get a short fuse yeah yeah yeah but i don't remember i mean i only remember sweet things
Starting point is 00:44:31 really but anyways it was just so cool and oh that's sweet like a first time you know I guess this whole show is about like what's life like being on your own in your 20s in a new city away from your family and now I'm coming back home saying hello for a month and navigating life and it's that was like a first time thing I witnessed this weekend so I thought That was really cool. Anyways, I think there are – anything else you want to mention? Well, you know, I'm driving. I know.
Starting point is 00:45:03 We're in rain right now. We got out of the snow. We got about 25 cars behind us now. Bitches. But we're on this – this is a bad strip, so we just keep putzing along. We got off the snowy, windy, steep road, and now we're on – We're in rain. Rain.
Starting point is 00:45:18 We're on the lower part of the pass. Rain. Yeah, it's very – Overcast. it's very mossy and like there's ferns and evergreen trees and there's mountains all around us it's really pretty when we get home we'll have to make some coffee i know i feel like i'm gonna hit a wall and you won't let me drive no no no i'm hardy you don't need to you guys don't know this but i moved so when i said i moved in march um i moved to my apartment in
Starting point is 00:45:46 san diego in march i was in san diego for two years but i moved to a new place anyways i took i did my own move all on my own and i got my own u-haul everything and so i just i'm trying to tell my mom like i got i got what it takes to drive this bitch oh i know you do but i'm i'm driving it i know i i want to be a long haul trucker a long haul trucker yeah i'd be good i don't not not wait a minute back that up i think it would be an adventure and be fun uh for a certain amount of time like one day truck stops uh leave less to be desired do you when you drive long distances do you listen to anything um no unless it's a Jacqueline Monroe show okay but no okay I love the quiet because my mind I'm listening to myself I'm meditating I go I go in waves of that
Starting point is 00:46:39 I've talked about it I like that quiet time but I can't believe you don't I'm like blasting music We should have the Seahawks on. Oh, shit. Let's check that. There's time, Jacqueline. I got music blaring. But it just kind of depends. Guess the score.
Starting point is 00:46:56 We're in second quarter. 37 seconds left till half. And what's the score? Guess. Second quarter going into half. Second quarter going into the half. Seahawks 14, the other team 3. seahawks up three new york giants here what's the score three zero us seahawks up three up three
Starting point is 00:47:22 three oh okay well i knew there was a three in there i just didn't know where to place it dyslexic oh yeah boom boom boom not anymore do you grow out of dyslexia is it kind of like a mind no no no you never grow out of it it's your how your brain works yep well you're good at spelling things i remember we used to play games with you we'd have you spell shit backwards really quickly yeah i'm really good at that she's like pro at that i'm excellent with numbers yeah so i don't know i'm so we're gonna go i'll make some coffee maybe take a five minute pee break tmi why do i say shit like that i don't know jacqueline filter i don't know i don't know i mean okay i'll i'll stop saying stuff like that we will take a five minute break
Starting point is 00:48:08 drink some coffee um start unloading it would be we'll get a second one because when you have to use the ladies room that would be a little more classier but um instead of using the p word or the restroom or the lavatory i can be classy i'm mostly classy but you know let's face it i had a contractor in my house for one week redoing two bathrooms i did not have a tmi yeah tmi right mom didn't have a bathroom what did you do for a week i'm not gonna tell people can use your imagination but you know what would you do you used to climb mountains and go on crazy long hikes you'd be out in the wilderness for a week straight you did you find that you find that tree and you do your business anyways that's funny i like to joke with you
Starting point is 00:49:01 about that because i'm trying to figure out what you what exactly you did yeah what is my water cup your water cup where's that tall water cup well that's this no the water cup i was drinking out of this i don't know did you pee in it no you did i could not go into mcdonald's because there's so much you how did it all stay in there and then i had to you did not and then i had to guys so i'm i had to watch for grandma and grandpa coming through the town andrea and you and julia are mcdonald's who's gonna watch for the grandparents we're okay so i'm that's not cool that i said take a pee break when we get home but you're taking a pee break in the cup your water cup in a u-haul in leavenworth tourists everywhere mcdonald's is 10 feet away could have peed there tmi great job
Starting point is 00:49:53 you win mom okay well that's see that's another compliment my mom was making sure my grandparents were going to make it through the mountains and the snow and all that stuff so i had to watch the rigs she had to watch our two u-hauls while we were taking our break at mcdonald's and she had peed in a cup so she didn't have to get her eyes off them i mean i could have come back and bend the eyeballs do you know how many cups i've peed in over the years because of all the thousands yeah every time yeah that's like trucker bombs and i used to pick up garbage on the freeway yeah yeah well i don't do that but you know every time i go to the doctor you know with all the treatment you're always peeing in something oh yeah it's a fact of life it's a fact of life we
Starting point is 00:50:33 usually don't talk about it out loud whatever but this is a medical show let's talk about it that's right let's do it well i am gonna slow down did i ever talk about cleaning up garbage on the freeway oh man but anyways i did that for a couple years as a summer job you guys made good money as kids well it was the only job i could get because i wasn't 16 they hired up oh there's Someone's fishing. Oh, that's right. Oh, yeah, somebody's down there fishing. I think they're fishing in that.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Either that or they're going to jump in and not make it. I kind of look like they were going to jump. They're just standing there. Suicide jump. Jesus, Mom, don't say that. I think that's a cross. I think that's triggering. What?
Starting point is 00:51:09 I think that's too much. Oh, I'm sorry. Can't say suicide. People, that's one location people do do that. Well, if that's the case, we would be fucked up for not. They're fishing. I saw a pole. Did you see a pole?
Starting point is 00:51:20 I did see a pole. Okay, that's good. Maybe he's going to hang himself. i don't know uh shit what were you talking about oh i used to clean up garbage on the freeway when i was like 14 for my summer job and it was like me and six other kids and we get dropped off on the freeway we had these orange cones we wore a hard hat we had i'll get i'll get us more water mom we had two garbage bags one for garbage one for recycling anyways they drop us off we clean our section of road they pick us up i i know it sounds bad but i wasn't uh you know i wasn't
Starting point is 00:51:54 it was a great job it wasn't a juvenile thing no it was through the natural it was through the natural psychology thing of washington whatever learn about recycling and then you would go recycle stuff and get the money too yeah like 10 cents yeah so anyways i was going to talk about trucker bombs so here I am 14 summer job I'm on the side of the freeway there's cars going by and I'm picking up garbage and there's a common thing you see on the side of the freeway that it's a it's a water bottle like a plain simple water bottle and uh it's full of piss so it'd be like a yellow water bottle and we weren't supposed to touch those or pick them up but at first I was kind of like I was like okay I knew what it was kind of immediately put the
Starting point is 00:52:39 pieces together but I started throwing them away at first they're like no don't fucking touch those and just like don't touch the needles you would find you always had to like mark the spot you saw something sketchy and then the supervisor would come and like clear it out professionally or whatever but yeah I did that for a couple years anyways guys my mom's microphone just cracked we don't know what happened it just like imploded on itself anyways um like I think it hit something it's not working so I'm gonna end this thanks for hanging out today with my mom and I in the u-haul we're almost home it's a great day happy sunday hope your football team's won uh go seahawks we're only at the half um i didn't plug my shit in the beginning but you can go over
