Catamaran Home!
Hello and welcome to this very special bonus episode of the James Donald Forbes McCann Catamaran Plan,
which will only be of interest, I suspect, to people who live
in Adelaide.
Everybody else, hey, thanks for clicking on it.
Can't believe you have.
Wow, so good to have you here.
This may be of academic importance to you.
Yeah, I mean, it helps giving you an insight into what's happening in my life.
But I'll just let you know that this is a non-catamaran plan related enterprise.
I have been invited to do a speech before a screening of my favourite movie,
It's a Wonderful Life.
It's going to be playing in Adelaide.
Tickets are on sale now.
And if you'd like to come and hear me talk about why I cry in It's a Wonderful Life
for like just 10, 15 minutes, and then we'll all watch It's a Wonderful Life together,
you can. There's a link in the description
below. It's going to be East End,
Palace Nova Cinemas, December 21.
I'm here with Paul Galash
on the street
where
we're trying to get the word out.
Paul, are you looking forward to it?
Yes.
It's been great having you on the show, Paul.
No, it's going to be good.
What have they got?
Cheap drinks?
Cheap Jurassic, $5 beers and wines.
Maybe even cheap nooses for those.
Oh, yes.
Very powerful suicide movie.
I was asked what age to...
Yeah, what is the age program?
It's like, well, it's a very wholesome movie,
but it is about a man wanting to kill himself.
I think no age is too young for, Too Young for putting the fear of God.
It really is a fear of God movie, isn't it?
But it seems like a fun Christmas movie.
But actually it's about a dark night of the soul and reckoning and horror.
I think it might bring my three-year-old along.
I look forward to the questions afterwards.
He's already a super melancholic child, and Paul, I think that's a really, really bad decision.
It's a Wonderful Life.
Why is he looking at the water?
Why is he looking at the water?
Why is he screaming?
It's a Wonderful Life, December 21.
Get your tickets if you'd like to come in Adelaide.
Boy, I love this movie.
I cried about eight points in the movie.
I only saw it three years ago.
I didn't grow up with this movie.
It's not a hokey Christmas film for me.
When did you first see it, Paul? Good question saw it three years ago. I didn't grow up with this movie. It's not a hokey Christmas film for me. When did you first see it, Paul?
Good question. Maybe
ten years ago.
As an adult. I didn't see it as a kid.
Have you watched it a lot as an adult? Do you watch it every Christmas?
Yeah, almost. Sometimes.
It's my, you know...
It's too depressing.
I don't...
I don't know where you were about to go with that, but
a darkness crept over the eyes.
I used to watch it with my late sister and brother-in-law,
and so there was a couple of years recently where I've avoided it.
But I look forward to seeing it again.
I would argue that if you miss it, you really haven't had a Christmas.
Isn't that just the case?
You know what it's displaced for me?
You used to watch Die Hard every year.
I'm so glad I've swapped out Die Hard.
I love Die Hard.
It's a great movie.
It's a great Christmas movie.
Hello.
I'm sorry, we're just doing a podcast.
Have you seen the movie?
No, you can be in it.
Running away.
Have you seen It's a Wonderful Life?
The movie?
No, no, don't worry about it.
All good.
Have a good one.
December 21, we're doing a screening of It's a Wonderful Life.
If you'd like to come.
Oh, good job.
Thank you.

See you, everybody.
I'll be back with more boat-related content soon.
And, of course course we're recording
Paul's recording with me
the Christmas special
tomorrow
and I'm

of your Christmas decorations
in there

all the shiny things
I'm going to go out
and buy a lot of rings
so that when I'm playing
the piano
I look like
I don't know
some sort of
Liberace type figure
fairy lights

Vaseline on the lens

Vaseline on the lens alright God. Yeah, yeah. You were big on the Vaseline on the lens.
