And we're ready to go. Ready to go after staying up late watching the Thursday night football game, which was not really a good game. It was closer than people thought.
Starting point is 00:02:14 And the dolphins covered the spread. I don't think I talked about that yesterday, but I really liked the dolphins in that situation. And I wouldn't have been shocked how they wanted. won it outright, even though they were a 12-and-a-half, 13-point underdog. But they didn't win it outright because, Tua, my God, Tua. Like, I took a live bet at one point as they're driving. And I should have known there was something up with this live bet, but they were down 28, 21, but driving.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And they were well into plus territory. They were at like the 30-yard line, maybe. And it was plus six and a half. They're down seven, but it was plus six and a half for plus money. So they're thinking, all right, the likelihood that they score isn't great. But I'm like, you know what? I'm going to take a shot on it because why not? If they get down there, let's say they do score, they tie it.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Buffalo gets it back, kicks a field goal to win. Boom, we cover. Literally, the next play. Dipshit throws an interception and throws it right to the defender. I don't think we can get to a point where we really defend Tua anymore. Tua just sucks. Maybe he's had too many concussions. Maybe he sees ghosts out there because of these.
Starting point is 00:03:22 concussions, Tua sucks. And the Dolphins yesterday, we talked about it. I thought the Dolphins had a really good shot still in making the postseason as an 0-and-2 team. They're 0-3 now and like nobody makes the playoffs at 0-and-3. But if you look at the Dolphins schedule, you go, I still don't think this is a dreadful team. That's the interesting thing about the Dolphins.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I don't think they're awful. They've been awful in a couple games. First game was terrible. Second game, they were down big early, but they rallied and could have would have should have won against New England. And they could have, should have won on this one. I never felt like they were going to win this game, but I felt like they were going to play better and more inspired, and they did.

Boy, Monday night football is the Jets and the Dolphins. They can beat the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:07:05 I don't think they'll beat the Chargers, but they certainly can beat the Browns. They could beat the Falcons. They won't beat the Ravens. They won't beat the Bills. They probably won't beat the commanders, but they can beat the Saints, and they can beat the Jets again, and they can beat the Steelers. And depending on what the Bengals are, Without Joe Burrow, they can beat the Bengals if Joe's not back, probably won't beat the Buccaneers, and they can beat the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:07:30 So they're an Ofer right now, but they should be one and three, two and three, two and four, three and four, Falcons three and five, Ravens three and six, then three and seven. Okay, so no, they're done now, yeah. They were probably a long shot anyway, but now, yeah, they're probably done. but I like how people get caught up in the fact that if you're 0 and 3 you can't make the playoffs like only the Texans that what a weird year that was that was 2018 right so I guess that would have been the year that they beat buffalo in the first round but what a world it is for buffalo how things have changed for Buffalo since then 2018 you'll lose to the Texans with a guy who ends up being one of the great disasters of all time in Deshaun Watson that game could go to overtime I think it did and then the Texans started o and three it's over and then boom then the Texans are back in it right that was Deshawn right I believe so that was that year the 2018 Texans that were oh and three and then um or was that 2019 let's see 2018 Texans I should know this like I know a lot more about the 2010 to 2013 Texans than I do about the 2016 to like 2020 Texans my first time in Houston I was far more locked into it than
Starting point is 00:08:45 I was the next time around like I guess that happened because I didn't live it. I wasn't on the radio station that had the Texans. So, like, I wasn't as engaged in it. And I was kind of hoping they'd lose all the time because I thought it would help us if they lost. I had a fucked up mindset. Let's see. That was that year. They started out 0 and 3. And then they rattled off nine wins in a row and 10 out of 11. So yeah. And by the way, those first three games of the year were all one possession losses. But then they go, here's where it all changed and I remember actually and I remember being so pissed
Starting point is 00:09:21 off about this. This actually isn't where it changed. Actually, I was going to combine seasons. I was wrong on the seasons on the city. Actually, no. I think this was. Okay, did they play the Colts on Monday night football that year? No. No, sorry, I'm wrong. 2016 they played a home game against the Colts on
Starting point is 00:09:40 Monday night football and rallied and won. And I remember, like me and Jillie had left the game only to find out they came back and won. And I remember being so pissed. I had a different mindset back then, though. Back then, like, all I thought about was ratings, ratings, ratings, I didn't want teams that weren't on our radio station to win. I wanted the Texans to lose every week because in my mind the ratings would be better for 610 if the Texans were good. And the ratings were never really good for 610. They were just a dead station, so it didn't really matter. I should have
Starting point is 00:10:10 embraced it and enjoyed it more. But I just fucking hated everything about it. Like, I'm like, nope I don't want this team to win and I remember being miserable and Jilly would be like why are you such a dickhead and I'm like well because I don't want them to win because if they win in theory all boats would rise with the tide if the team were good but in my mind it was nope Texans can't be good because 610 will benefit from it and I'll get my ass kicked and I can't have that and I was constantly pissed off about it but yeah that was the last time and only time like I'm shocked when I heard that that it was the only time in this century that a team started 0-and-3 and made the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Like, it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard because everybody gets caught up in the fact that you're 0-and-3, and it's hard to make the playoffs at 0-N-3. But, like, let's say you win three in a row, like, say you were the Texans, right, and you rattled off the next four wins in a row. And it was a wild year, by the way, because the next two games were overtime wins, right? So that Texans team was 0-3. They go on to win the next three. So they beat Buffalo, they beat Dallas, they beat the Colts, they're three and three.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Well, then I'd like to know how many teams that start three and three make the playoffs. You know what I'm saying? Like it changes. Or like if you get to one and three, how many teams that are one and three make the playoffs? You know, like everybody gets caught up in the, well, only one team has made it from O and three. But do they talk about when that O and three team? Well, I guess it doesn't matter because they had to start O'N3. And if they start, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I might just be rattling off dumb shit here. I might sound like a moron. that's okay that was also the year that the eagles played uh the texans near christmas i think that's the year that me and jillie went to see them i think we went to philly in 2018 and i went there wearing philly shit i'm like i'm not going to philadelphia wearing texan shit i don't want to deal with these people so i like had my eagles gear on like i'm like i don't like the i don't like the eagles i don't want them to win but like i was rooting for them to win that game because i didn't feel like getting harassed by people so instead of wearing texan shit
Starting point is 00:12:13 I think I talked about that on the air. I was like, listen, you know, I hope the Texans win, whatever. But I'm putting on my Eagles gear because, A, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. B, that was like two years after I'd gotten fired, a little over two years after I'd gotten fired there. And I'm like, screw this shit.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I'm going to, you know, people are going to recognize me there. The last thing I want us to be walking around and some Philly guy recognizes me, wants to throw hands because I'm wearing Texans gear and wants to harass me and shit. So I figure, like, dude, Philly's fans. or Philly fans in general are just easy. We've discussed this.
Starting point is 00:12:46 You throw on a shirt, you say, go birds. They're like, hey, this guy's one of us. This guy wants to be one of us. So that's all you had to do. But yeah, that 2018 Texans year was weird. 0 and 3 to 9 and 3 to eventually finishing the season 11 and 5 and then going to the post season and playing Buffalo. So sorry, actually, that was the Colts year.
Starting point is 00:13:09 That was the year they lost to the Colts at home. Ah, that was that year. So I'm conflating two seasons. So that year they played the Colts. The date was in 2019. They played the Colts. And that was the year that they were getting smoked. I think they were down 21-0 at one point.
Starting point is 00:13:26 And Deshaun ran for a first down and did like his little move where he does the first down. And I just ripped him for that the whole next day. Like, bro, you're down 21 fucking points. What are you doing? So that was that year. Then what was it the year before the year after that they beat Buffalo in the postseason? I'm trying to remember now. Again, that stretch was a weird year, or really just a weird era.
Starting point is 00:13:50 That was a strange era because I really wasn't all that engaged, even though I was on the radio. Like, I was far more engaged in the 2010 to 2013 Texans than I was the 2006 to 2020 Bill O'Brien Texans. I don't know. That was just kind of how it was. but yeah that was that year 2018 and then I guess it was the next year it would have been the next year then that the Texans played they would have played Buffalo and I think that game went to overtime I think I really should know this shit and you're probably listening to this and like who gives a fuck Josh what's the point you were just breaking down the likelihood of the dolphins making the playoffs which is next to none and now you want to talk about the 2019 Texans. do, motherfucker, deal with it. Let's see how that season played out. Okay, so that team finished 10 and 6.
Starting point is 00:14:47 You know, it's pretty crazy, and I know the division wasn't very good in that era, but you've got to give Bill O'Brien credit for consistently winning the damn thing and going to the postseason, because as we saw, things could be worse. But yeah, so the Texans that year were 10 and 6. They were 10 and 6, and that was the year they played Buffalo in the postseason. Ah, and that was the year they blew the lead to the Chiefs. One of the greatest accomplishments ever. Like, if you really think about how they blew the game to the Chiefs, first of all, they rallied to beat Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:15:15 They were down big to Buffalo. They were down 13-0.0.5. They rally. They take it to overtime. They win. Cool. The fact that they won the game against or the fact that they lost to Kansas City and lost it by 20 points is truly one of the greatest accomplishments ever. 24-0.
Starting point is 00:15:36 So you're plus 24 to minus. 20. One of the truly great accomplishments of all time. It is difficult in a four-quarter game to go from up 24 to down 20. It is remarkable, and it's pretty, like, you have to really, really try to go from up 24 to down 20. It was 24-0. And the Texans would go on to give up seven consecutive touchdowns and a field goal over their next eight drives, seven touchdowns and a field goal. It is remarkable. And I think if people were more invested in the Texans in that era, I think that that
Starting point is 00:16:21 would hurt more. But I bet that, and I know that there's people in Houston that think about that game and whatever, nobody talks about that game the way they talk about blowing the game against Buffalo in 93. Like, it just doesn't feel the same. Like, I don't think people were truly invested in the Bill O'Brien, Texans. It just wasn't something, like people hated Bill O'Brien, and it wasn't the same type of investment, right? Like, it wasn't the same.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Like, you don't hear about that, the way you hear about things that happened in the 90s, 80s, 70s as it relates to football or any sport in Houston. You just don't get that same reaction from people. But 24-0, up 24 to down 20, is truly one of the incredible things anyone has ever heard, sports-wise. but yeah again I don't know why I've gone down this wormhole oh yeah dolphins so but I am I also do wonder though so the number of teams that start oh and three versus the number of teams that start two and three right so like let's say the dolphins win their next two and they're two and three like do you still ride with the fact that they were an oh and three team and oh and three teams you never make the playoffs but like how often do teams that start two and three like chat GPT do you know that let's see Chat GPT, how often do teams that start, that teams that start two and three make the playoffs in the NFL? Let's see. Tell me something, chat GPT, my lover. I ask you everything.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Hell, I took a picture of this weird rash on my stomach. It's a disgusting picture, and I'm like, chat GPT, what is this? let's see the data shows what data shows for o and two versus o and three starts teams that start oh and two only 32 made the playoffs out of 279 from 1990 to 2023 teams that start o and three four out of 162 teams in that same span that's 2.5 percent a two and three record after five games means you have a losing record thank you chad gbt you didn't even help me i pay for you and this is the kind of shit information you give me There should be one for every possible record. I hear about O and two and O and three. What about one and three teams? Because if the Dolphins win, they now become a one and three team. How often do one and three football teams make it?
Starting point is 00:18:48 And does that override the O and three? Or are you just always an O and three team if you started the stretch O and three? Like if they get to two and three, then don't we say, hey, they're a two and three football team. How many times did two out of three football teams make the playoffs? Or are you just an O and three team still? It doesn't adjust. if you get to 3 and 3. Now, some teams get to 3 and 3 without starting 0 and 3.
Starting point is 00:19:12 But like, let's say you started 0 and 2, then you were 1 and 2, then you were 1 and 3 and 2 and got to 3 and 3. So do you say like, hey, how many teams that were 1 and 3 made the playoffs? And does that override 0 and 3, or are you just always 0 in 3? Thus, you will definitely not make the playoffs because you started 0 and 3. But what if you started 1 and 3 and like 40% of 1 and 3 teams? have made the playoffs. Does that number then supersede the other one? I don't know. I don't know why I'm talking about this. My brain is oatmeal. I am more tired today than I've been in most of these days. I think I finally kind of hit a wall. I'm like, shit.
Starting point is 00:19:54 It's Friday and I've hit a goddamn wall. My three hours of sleep every night is finally caught up with me. Anyway, all right. Let's get into some other stuff. Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything, like packing a spare stick. I like to be prepared. That's why I remember, 988, Canada's Suicide Crisis Hubline.
