The Josh Innes Show - A Dumb Way To Get Arrested...Or Is It Genius?
Episode Date: June 17, 2025First off, I watched the Astroworld/Travis Scott documentary. My main takeaway is that I cannot fathom why anyone would enjoy attending events like this. Second, this leads me to discussing dudes ...breaking into the Astrodome for the purpose of posting Tik Tok videos...They got arrested..but is it worth it? Learn more about your ad choices. Last night, Jilly and I watched the documentary about the Astro World Fest, the Travis Scott
documentary where like nine people died at the concert.
And you know, it's trying to like find the blame.
Like who gets the blame here is
it Live Nation that gets the blame is it Travis Scott and of course generally speaking like
when you watch these things after an hour and a half you come to the conclusion that
seemingly everybody has a little bit to blame in this but it's it's interesting because
and I'm not saying any of these people deserve to die or anything it's sad that people went
to a concert and died and this isn't the first time people have died at a concert.
You know, you had the who's in Cincinnati tragedy
where some people I think got trampled in that.
I think some kids neither I think in Japan got trampled at a new kids
on the block concert. What a way to go.
Can you imagine like, you know, you're like you're talking to people up
in heaven one day, you know, and you've been up there a while you're talking to someone like, how'd you go? I got car jacked and you know, I wouldn't give up the car. So the guy shot me. How did you go? Well, I got trampled at a new kids on the block concert in Tokyo, like new kids on the block. Yeah, like Danny and Jordan and Jonathan and Donnie and and Joey like yeah
The new kids on the block like step-by-step new kids on the block like hanging tough
Yeah, you died for the new kids on the block and you're like I get it chill the fuck out. I'm sorry
But so it's not the first time people have died at concerts
But when you watch this it's it's wild that people found that to
be an enjoyable situation to be in.
Now part of the problem is Live Nation sold a ton of tickets
for the amount of space they had and a lot of people just broke
down the beers.
Like it's amazing when you watch the video of this and like
the second they opened the gates people trampled the gates.
They tore down all the temporary fencing,
metal detectors and everything and people discharged in.
That's kind of the part that pisses me off about these
people though. But first of all, let me play a couple

slash promos. So I don't want to be old man yells at cloud as it relates to like
concerts and shit, but like you act like imbeciles and all of you did because you
all trampled the gates to get into this concert.
You all knocked over the the metal detectors and the screening area so you
can run in to go be part of this
astroworld because it made you feel great and it made you feel like you were in a new
world and all this shit. Well, you basically all were committing crimes before the fucking
thing started. Again, not saying that these people deserve to die, but I'm looking at
the bigger picture of this. You got this Travis Scott who just urges people to have like mosh
pits and to go fucking crazy. So these people are already raging out there. You got this Travis Scott who just urges people to have like mosh pits and to go fucking crazy. So these people are
already raging out there. You've got a bunch of people that came
in without tickets. They estimate a whole lot of those
people got in without tickets because they tore down all the
barricades in the parking lot and trampled all the security
people to get in there. So they estimate that an area that
should have had about 30,000 people and it had like 50,000
people. And what's wild is that
there's like there's a kid that was watching someone die this
you know teenage kid and he got up on the the area where like
the mix booth was and he's telling people someone is dying
and people are just like sit the fuck down asshole like the
whole thing was fucking bonkers but everybody gets a little bit
of blame and I'm not going to go into all the details on it but like you go to a rager expecting
to rage and like do you expect to die no but like these people go in with this fucking wild mindset
like look maybe I'm an old dude I don't go to concerts to be part of that scene. Like I'm not going to a concert
so I can be trampled by people
or feel like I'm suffocating or rage, right?
Like, look, I don't wanna go to,
like the reason I won't go to like a James Taylor concert
is cause I also don't wanna go to a concert,
sit there with my hands in my lap
and listen to a guy sing Handyman, right?
Like I don't wanna do that,
but there's gotta be a middle ground, right?
Like in St. Louis, I've experienced a couple times where like you're at a show where it's a stand up show, whether it's sticks, whatever, like a show where like you're not going to rage at a stick scenario Speedwagon show, but you're still going to have a good time at a stick scenario Speedwagon show. And you got people telling you to sit down and it's like, what the fuck are you doing? So like there's a middle ground when it comes to concerts. There's totally a middle ground. However, I do not see any kind of fun or joy in
what that crowd looked like going to see Travis Scott. And
I have nothing against Travis Scott. Maybe he's a super nice
guy and people like that he reps, you know, Houston and all
that. And that's great. The music ain't for me. The crowd
ain't for me. Like I cannot imagine any
artist that I would want to see where I would want to be in a
situation like that. Not you know obviously dying but like
want to be in a situation where people are packed in like that
and they're raging like I can't think of one artist in my life.
I would have wanted to do that for that is something I never
I never dreamed of doing. Right? Like
something like no point in my life even as a young kid was I like you know what I want to do go to a
concert and fucking rage. Maybe I'm just square white bread white boy suburban white boy like that
but and then you see the douchey people that go to these shows like I'm telling you, one of every two people is a white
bro or like an Indian bro wearing a basketball jersey
with no shirt underneath it. Like, hey, I got my Hakeem
Olajuwon jersey on like some kid named, you know, like Colton,
who's got a fucking Mario Ellie jersey on like that's like the
standard look of people that go to these Travis Scott type shows is like white bro or
Indian bros. Indian bros fucking love this kind of music. And you
get the dude out there and they're always like, or a lot of
Hispanic dudes are there too, but it's Houston, it makes sense.
And you got all these dudes wearing just fucking basketball
jerseys and just raging their asses off, but it just
seems like a miserable time. Eliminate the death part of it, which is obviously miserable.
It is a super miserable experience. One would imagine a super miserable experience to be
in that. Like I love Sammy Hagar. I'm not going to go rage at a Sammy Hagar show. Now
granted most of the people at the Sammy Hagar
show are in walkers now. Like it's funny I'm making fun of some of these people in this video for
talking about how like going to this show was my dream and and you know like it just takes you to
a new world and I love Travis Scott's music and Astroworld and all this and I'm like these
people are fucking dopes and Jilly goes like that's how excited you get when you see
Night Ranger and I'm like listen here Jilly don't be a bitch okay
that's different I'm not go when I go see Night Ranger in
Vinton Louisiana I'm not going to rage she's like you sit there and you sing at the top of your lungs you look like a dip shit out of these shows and I'm like you look like a dipshit. All that said, speaking of the Astroworld
and Astrodome, I was watching one of these urban exploration films and by the way, God bless the
urban explorers. I'm a big urban exploration guy. I want to say these dudes that posted this video,
let's see, Astrodome, let me make sure on this Astrodome Urban Exploration video. Like I think some dudes got arrested for trespassing,
but to me they're the kind of guys that shouldn't get arrested because they're heroes. Urban
Explorers are heroes. Men charged and breaking into Astrodome video shared on TikTok. Now you
can argue they're morons for committing a crime and posting it and you would not be wrong. However, I am a
big supporter of those who are urban explorers, those who go in old
dilapidated building, closed down buildings, the Astrodome or like some of
the great videos you would get back when the RCA dome was still around in
Indianapolis,
you know, guys that would kind of go in there or old movie theaters. You know that this is the weird shit I'm into. These are my kinks, man. I'm a big fan of urban exploration videos and you know this
because we've talked about it a billion times. I love these things so I'll spend hours on YouTube
just watching like, hey, abandoned, completely immaculate 1990s movie theater, popcorn machine still in it. And
I'll watch and I fucking love that shit. That's like, like,
look, the shit that I'm into is not the shit that most people
are into. Although there's clearly a market for this urban
exploration, because people watch these videos, I'm not
alone here. But like urban exploration videos, I like old department stores and old downtowns and
shit like that. Old movie theaters. That's what I'm into.
So I love when these urban explorers do shit that I don't
have the balls to do. I'm not going to go break into the
Astrodome and film. But at the end of the day, how big of a
fucking deal is this? It's a shut down shuttered building
that's sitting there collecting dust and some folks walk
in there and film the shit. Who cares? Let's see, let me read the story. Men charged and
breaking into Astrodome. Three men arrested after sneaking inside abandoned Astrodome
post video to TikTok. Let's see. In the ever competitive world of TikTok where users scrambled
to rack up views and go viral,
some will go to extreme lengths to stand out.
That chase for online fame recently landed three Houston teenagers in handcuffs.
Authorities say the 18-year-olds broke into the long shuttered Astrodome, also known as
the Eighth Wonder of the World, and posted footage of their nighttime adventure.
What they captured inside the historic stadium
quickly caught attention online but also drew the eyes of law enforcement. According to
a report from Hearst News outlet Cron.com, the men, all 18 years old, were charged with
trespassing after allegedly sneaking onto the property that houses the Astrodome. The
site is adjacent to NRG Stadium and NRG Arena. The Astrodome was the first stadium to host indoor Major League Baseball games.
The men posted their video to TikTok under the handle Lurking
Houston. As of late Wednesday morning, the video has nearly
25,000 visits. Good for Lurking Houston. They also posted a full
version of the video on YouTube. And look, if you kept those up,
them getting arrested actually kind of just
elevates the excitement of it. Our deputies arrested three men
for sneaking into the NRG Astrodome, which has been closed
to the public since 2009. The fact that that building is still
there and people like do something with this thing. If
you want to say it's a historic landmark and say it's got
significance, sure, it's got some significance. It's the
first dome stadium. Cool. Figure it out. The thing's just sitting there doing nothing.
I don't want to get into that. That's like the Pete Rose debate of Houston area things like, hey, it's it's the middle of June.
Let's talk about the Astrodome. But I love these urban explorers.
Then I saw another one that Jilly sent me about these another group of people that were urban exploring. I
think they had the same thing happen to them. Let me see here
Miami Herald. Is this the story? Men, a man, oh this is
actually better. Now this guy rules. Man trespassing at
abandoned prison for photos gets trapped in cell. So this
poor bastard goes in there and he's
like, hey, this jail is abandoned. He's doing a hero's job because I guarantee you that video
fucked. An abandoned jail, like in my mind it looks like Alcatraz. That's awesome, okay? I gotta
see this video. But this poor bastard, 19-year-old visiting an abandoned prison to take photos needed
rescuing when he became trapped in a cell at the former New York Correctional Center. After calling for
help, state troopers and firefighters who arrived at the old downstate
correctional facility in Fishkill at about 12 of 4 a.m. on June 14th found him
stuck in the cell and helped him out. Troopers then arrested the 19-year-old Argyle resident on a
third-degree criminal trespassing charge. The man had illegally accessed the
shuttered state prison by crawling through a hole in a fence surrounding the
downstate correctional facility about a 75 mile drive north from New York City.
Now facing a misdemeanor trespassing charge. He is due in fishkill court at a later date. See, that's the thing. Like I
think that's the way to play it. Like if you're gonna get
arrested for something, get arrested for some urban
exploration shit that helps you get a bunch of views. That said,
it would be wise to not get stuck in the cell. Maybe he did
it on purpose. Like getting arrested has to help these guys right like it has to
help your credibility and the number of views because you're
making news like at the end of the day. It's a misdemeanor
charge you broke into a building big fucking deal. It
was abandoned anyway. Who are you hurting right? So like
it's not like a crime where like you killed somebody and
that's hard to recover from this actually just helps your
credibility as an urban explorer.
Now you're a dude that's out there going to jail for the craft.
Now people are going to check out that video.
You're going to pick up new followers.
There are times that going to jail is great for your brand and great for business.
This is one of those times.
This is an outstanding move for this guy.
A misdemeanor?
Who gives a fuck?
You get out of jail, you go live your life.
Go do some more urban exploration.
Anyway, more to come.
