The substance.
This balance is not working.
And the naked gun.
That was awesome.
Now that's a mountain of entertainment.
Well, you got to appreciate the fact that we're only four, what, four games into the NFL season,
and we've already got full-on A.J. Brown drama.
That's always good, right?
Like, you appreciate the fact that A.J. Brown is always willing to provide content for people.
That's the one thing about Philly.
There's never a lack of content because there's always drama.
Because even when something's a very small thing, and I don't view this A.J. Brown thing is a small thing. I think it's a big picture thing, and it's something that could grow into a real issue because it's A.J. Brown, and he's a mental case. So I don't view this is a small thing is. Philly can take the smallest thing and make it into the biggest thing, and there's always content. It is a fascinating place. Some places can't do that. Like Houston can't do that. Like just most places, I would argue that maybe nowhere outside of Philly, maybe New York, maybe Boston.
They can take something that's tiny and absolute nothing burger and turn it into the most dramatic, most important story on the planet.
But I actually view this story as a legitimate story.
It's important because A.J. Brown is one of the best weapons you have on offense.
The guy is clearly unhappy on an offense that really isn't fucking good.
And at some point, they're going to have to get their comeuppance.
For the love of Christ, could somebody kick the shit out of the Eagles?
Please.
All right, let's play a few commercials.
And we will continue.

Now, it is important to know that I am not some anti-Eagles guy, big picture, and it's
on an anti-Filly thing.
I'm just so fucking sick of watching the Eagles win the way they're winning.
They're not good, particularly offense.
Defense is fine.
The offense is so fucking bad, yet they keep finding ways to bail out the shitty offense,
and I cannot handle it.
Somebody plays for the love of fuck, beat them.
But anyway, there's an A.J. Brown update.
Headline reads, A.J. Brown apologizes for Sunday tweet while also downplaying it.
And you know, the tweet was, if you're not welcome, not listen to, quietly withdraw, don't make a scene, shrug your shoulders, and be on your way.
Meeting with the reporters Wednesday, Brown took responsibility for the tweet.
He also disputed that he was sending a message while confirming his frustrations over lack of involvement in the offense, all in fewer than five minutes.
The video exchange posted by Elliott Shore Park can be seen and heard here.
First off, I want to start by saying, obviously, Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over.
I didn't speak to the media.
I had a chance to correct my frustrations, and I continue to let it boil over.
That's on me.
You know, I take full accountability on that.
But even though Brown took total responsibility for the tweet, he disputed the obvious message it sent.
Quote, my message on Twitter wasn't directed at anyone in the building, not my coaches, not my quarterback, my GM, nobody.
He said he has, quote, open communications with everyone, and he called us frustrations normal due to the standards we hold ourselves too.
He specifically contradicted the portion of the tweet in which he suggested that he's not being listened to.
Through it all, Brown made it clear he still hopes to have more passes thrown his way.
Quote, like again, I take accountability for that, you know.
Let me actually just play the audio of this.
Let me see if I got this here.
Here we go.
Let's play this audio of this.
Obviously, Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over.
I didn't speak to the media.
I had a chance to correct my frustrations, and I continued to let it boil over.
That's on me.
I take full accountability on that, closing that.
My message on Twitter wasn't directed at anyone in the building.
Not my coaches, not my quarterback, my GM, nobody.
You know, like I said, I take full accountability.
I have an open communication with all my coaches and with my quarterback as well.
Me and my coaches, KP, Nick, we discuss weekly about trying to get this thing on the same page.
The reason why you're not getting on the same page is because your offense sucks and your quarterback sucks.
Real talk. Hashtag real talk. Your quarterback's not very good and the offense is a joke.
You know who should be pissed off as Saquan Barkley?
dude was putting up like a buck 30 a game last year and now he's like what is his all purpose total every week like 60 yards you're talking about a guy that's seen a drastic drop off geez
what are your frustrations uh i think it's i think it's normal to have frustrations because of the standard that we hold ourselves to you know and we have a lot of talent on offense and to be honest you know defense
defense and special teams have been low-key carrying us you know it ain't low-key carrying you defense and
special teams. What is the opposite of low-key? High-key? They've been high-key carrying your
asses because your offense blows. It's just like, we need to clean up what we need to
clean up and get on the same page and, you know, and place it a bit of that we say that.
Now, the follow-up has to be, like, what about what you're doing isn't on the same page?
Like, where are you guys off? What are things that need to change? That's got to be the obvious
follow-up. If someone is saying that we're not on the same page, well, first off, what is
that is keeping you off the same page?
Like when you say you're not on the same page,
what are things that we, the novice, watching football,
don't see?
Like, what are the things behind the scenes on the field
that are not on the same page?
That's like the obvious follow-up here.
But let's see if anybody does it.
We can and be who we are.
So it's a standard that we preach.
And so, yeah, so it's easy to have that frustration.
I think it's fair to have that frustration.
But like I said, I just can't let that boil over.
Based on the content of that tweet,
it seemed like maybe you were feeling like you weren't being listened to?
Is that the case or is that not?
Which is a fine question, but you had an obvious follow-up.
Like, that feels like a question that you went into it planning to ask.
I want to know, like, what is being on the same page?
We're fans.
We're not in the huddle.
We're novices.
We don't know football the way you know football.
You say you're not on the same page.
Define not on the same page.
No, again, like I said, the tweet wasn't directed anyone because, you know, I am missing too.
Like I said, I have an open communication with my coaches.
Nick, KP, I talk all the time with those guys.
Nick FaceTime me on Monday when I'm not in the building.
This is like a every week in a day, you know.
That's the relationship that we have.
So that's not the case in Austin.
Andrew, that verse close to town in that it was supposed to run.
All right.
It might be a been on your mind for a while.
No, no, no, no, no.
I mean, obviously, you know, you can use that verse for anything.
in life, you know, so, like I said, it's not a directed at anyone, obviously.
I got a lot of stuff in my phone.
I got a lot of meetings in my phone.
And it may not be directed at anybody, but the dude's frustrated he ain't getting the ball,
and he's frustrated because the offense sucks, which I get.
It's very easy to say, well, you guys are four and no, be happy,
but dudes want to get theirs.
Dudes want to be part of it, so I get where he's coming from.
You know, people know, so I'm the meeting.
AJ, you mentioned you talked to Siriani and Kevin Petula quite a bit.
How about jailing?
Like, what's your chemistry like with Jalen?
No one is at, like, again, and maybe he's answered this question already, and I don't know it.
But again, what is getting on the same page?
What about what is going on with you guys is frustrating?
That's what I'd like to know.
But no one's asking this question.
And I get that you're fishing for sound bites, and I understand that.
My problem with people in these press conferences and interviews in general is that people don't listen.
You listen and you react.
When the guy says, I don't think we're on the same page.
define not on the same page.
Tell us what we're watching that isn't on the same page.
Like what needs to be better, what needs to improve, what makes you feel like you're not
on the same page?
How do you get to that and then how do you improve it?
Like those are follow-up questions that I would ask.
These are obviously predetermined questions people are going and asking, which is fine
because people have a story to do, people have an angle for a story they're going to do, so I get
it.
But to me, that's the obvious follow-up here.
Trying to get this fixed.
Yeah, so we're always working to get on the same page.
It's not that much of communication because of, like, during the game,
I'm not the person that's on the sidelines saying,
give me the ball, give me the ball.
So I don't understand where people say that he's forcing me the ball
because I'm complaining.
If you ask any of my teammates,
I'm probably the quietest one on the sideline.
I don't even go.
Yeah, like, okay, but let's not sit there and act like you're some sort of fucking choir boy, too.
Like, I'm just the quietest guy.
Yeah, because when you ain't getting yours, you grab a book and read it on the sideline.
So, like, don't, like, don't put the, cut the bullshit.
Okay, you're full of shit.
To the huddle during the timeouts.
You know, I try to let the game come to me,
and I don't even tell KP to call this and call all that.
know, that's the player I am, you know, um, so.
You don't do that, but you still find a way to make it about yourself and then make
the story about you and then tweet about shit and then go like, well, I didn't really mean
anything by it.
Like, you're full of shit, bro.
During the week, what's your communication and what?
We're always trying to just get better.
We, uh, in the meetings, we're, we're talking and talking through things, so.
Just to clarify, J. Are you happy here?
Absolutely.
This is, this is my home, you know.
Uh, it's, unfortunately I did it to myself, you know, uh, I wouldn't even say, I'm
fortunately I did it to myself but this is my home and I love it here you know but you just see
frustration because obviously you know we want to be great and most definitely I want to be great
as well so then how do you become great like that's the next question like that's what I hate
about people is they just don't listen it's the easiest thing to do the guy is feeding you stuff
he's obviously in his mind so ask him shit about shit like that that you know he's going to
respond to that are actually interesting questions like you know like okay then then what would
make you, what would make you less frustrated?
What is it about what's happening other than not getting the ball, which is obvious?
But what is it about the offense that has you frustrated?
He'll talk.
He'll sing.
There's misconception.
I'm sure you saw it all over social media.
You feel like there's misconception of how that tweet or the messaging was construed.
Yeah, I think so.
Like again, I take accountability for that, you know.
Oh, God damn good and well what was going to happen when you do that shit.
Oh, I don't even know.
I mean, it gets it was misconstruited.
Bullshit.
God damn it.
But I think it's fair to, you know, to want the ball, to get us gone.
Like last week against the Rams, you know, I caught the sluggo.
Got the offense going next play, opened up with Gallagher.
The safety came up to my side and opened it up.
So, you know, I don't think it's a bad thing for wanting to ball.
It's not just for targets or anything to put numbers up.
But no, I see that we're struggling, and I'm a guy that...
See, and obviously this is where you could get him,
because he's obviously now going down this path.
Like, you know what's making him tick.
What's making him tick now is not getting the ball.
So again, he's full of shit because he's like, well, you know what ain't about this?
But I want to get the ball.
Like, he's obviously full of shit.
But you can get him and you can ask him some questions and get him to sing a little bit on some of this stuff.
If you just listen to his answers and then go at it that way.
But these people don't do that.
That wants the ball in those times when we can't find a way.
Give it to me.
Like when the game's on the line, give the ball to me.
I want that.
I want that pressure.
I put it on myself, you know, and I work hard for it.
And so that's what, you know,
And another obvious question would be, then what are you doing?
What is it about your game that's not getting you in position to get the ball?
Like, do you believe it's an offensive thing?
Are you open?
That'd be the next one.
Are you open?
I know he'll say I'm always open.
Are you open?
Like in these situations where you're not getting the ball, are you open?
That would be a follow-up.
The misconstruction or whatever you misconstrue, you know, whatever perspective you can about me.
But, you know, it is what it is.
You know, and I don't care, to be honest, because my teammates know.
But here's the thing.
You post shit, and then you're like, man, people kind of misinterpret who I am,
but here I am posting some shit.
Like, God damn, dude.
You know, the teammates know that when the game's on the line, look at me, you know,
and I won't shoot, everybody in the stadium to know that.
You know, that's not a secret.
You know, I'm not shying away from that.
And so that's where you see that frustration because that hunger comes out.
And it's because I see me struggling.
And I believe that you give the ball to me, I'm going to get this thing going.
You can put it on my back.
You said it's not directed anywhere.
What was your, I guess you're intent.
And that's where that ends.
Yeah, I don't know.
There are obvious questions that these people miss.
I don't know.
But the guy's full of shit anyway.
Like at some point, you got to be like, dude, so if you don't want people to misinterpret
shit about you, then why do you tweet vague shit like that?
You can't be afraid to ask those questions.
Like, I know you're looking at him face-to-face.
You're in the locker room with him.
But it'd be like, dude, when you tweet shit, like, you know, you don't feel like you're
heard or whatever. You get where people misinterpret that. And I don't even think that we
misinterpret it. We interpret it. You're just full of shit. Come on. Anyway, more to come.
