Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, so NFL this weekend, you know, you got the Texans taking on the Titans, and the Titans are really just a clown college of an organization. Like I saw yesterday they fired the person who was responsible for their uniform rebrand. Like, what are we doing here? Like, that's what we're doing? It's like, hey, we're a total disaster. Our team stinks. We haven't won a game.
Starting point is 00:00:23 We probably took a guy at number one who's dog shit. You know, we're going to fire today. We're going to fire the person who was responsible. for our NFL logo and uniform rebrand. So that's what's going on with the Titans. So look, is the Texan season over? Maybe. Is the Titans season over?
Starting point is 00:00:45 Definitely. Now, before we get into anything here, let's play a couple commercials and then we will roll on. So is this game, like here's the thing about the Titans. Like, I think they go into every season knowing they're going to suck. They've got an owner who's as much of a nut bars or dad. was a completely irrational nut bar in the way they handle their business they just fire people on a whim they're just they're a cluster fuck of an organization they're just going to happen to have a gigantic stadium that's going to get to host a bunch of cool shit because it's in nashville and it's a brand new stadium other than that the titans have literally nothing going for them as an organization they're a cluster fuck okay their season is over their next 10 seasons are probably over they are a waste of everybody's time now that said you start thinking about this game and what this game means to both of these teams.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Obviously, it's a must win for both, blah, blah, blah. It's more of a must win for the Texans because I think the Texans have an outside shot because I think they have a quarterback that can move the ball up and down the field. They can put up 350 passing yards in a game if they need to. And I cannot fathom that their defense will continue to be as dreadful as it is. D'Amico's going to call the players. You know, that's another thing that I find interesting is these coaches who are coordinators and play callers who give the play calling duty to somebody else, when does that work?
Starting point is 00:02:06 Like, it's a legit question, because I don't know. I'm sure there are examples of times when coaches, you know, give up the play calling to somebody else and it works. But like Sean Payton's doing the same thing. Why would Sean Payton, who is arguably one of the three or four best offensive play callers in the last 25 years, why would Sean Payton say, hey, pal, you get to call the plays now? And how could that person calling those plays ever be comfortable doing it when you
Starting point is 00:02:30 know that Sean fucking Peyton's sitting right there. And D'emico Ryans, who's been a very good defensive coordinator and a very good coordinator of defense for years in the NFL now, whether it be in San Francisco or while he's been in Houston, why would he have ever given up play calling? Like, why are these, like, what purpose are you serving? Like, you're hired because you're a brilliant coach. Like, you think about how absurd that is. You know, can you imagine like a manager, like a guy gets a job as a baseball manager?
Starting point is 00:02:57 And he's like, yeah, but I give up the power to, you know, pull pitchers. I give me that to someone else. Well, no, you don't do that shit. Like Phil Jackson's like, yeah, I just got a new job. My bench coach calls everything. I just sit here. Like, I understand the concept of CEO head coach because some guys are just leaders of men and they're not guys who call plays.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Like Dan Campbell in Detroit tried it for a little while after the Ben Johnson thing. And I'm fine, whatever. But Big Penn, they had to make some changes offensively. So eventually it was kind of like, okay, whatever. but he's not some sort of brilliant play caller. That's not his M.O. He's a leader. He's a CEO. There are CEO coaches.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And there are guys that can actually call plays on one side of the ball. You know, Bill Belichick. Bill Belichick's not going to not call the defense. He's fucking Bill Belichick. He's one of the greatest defensive coaches to ever walk the face of the earth. And we're sitting here going, yeah, well, we're not going to have Bill Belichick call the defense. Well, what are we doing? Like, I would almost be pissed off if I hired someone.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Like, if I hired Damiq O'Ryan's, and I hire. and I hired him based on the fact that he's a very good defensive coordinator and he's done awesome shit as a defensive coordinator. I would be pissed if I hired him and he hired someone else to call the plays. Like, what am I paying you for? What am I paying Sean Peyton for if it's not to call plays? He's fucking Sean Peyton. So that said,
Starting point is 00:04:19 the Texans defense can't be any worse than it's been. I think we can all agree there. You'd be hard pressed to find a worse situation for the Texans. they'll be fine. I think they'll survive. I think they'll live on defense. They can't be any worse. That said, they can score points. And I don't, it's for whatever reason, maybe the previous seasons have given me this feeling. I don't believe the Texan season is over. I can see a scenario where they rattle off two, three, four games in a row or something and get right back in this shit. Like, I don't think that's impossible. I'm not telling you they're great and I'm not
Starting point is 00:04:56 time they're going to win the Super Bowl, and I'm not going to tell you they're going to make the playoffs. But what I will tell you is, I don't believe their season is a total wash, and maybe that's just because I'm brainwashed by what they've done the last three years. That's very possible. But they've got a workable schedule. Like, I don't believe they are 0 and 4 bad. I believe they beat the Titans this week. And then they're going to play the Jaguars at home, and it will not shock me if when they play the Jaguars at home, that's a field goal spread. Like, I don't believe Jacksonville is going to go out and be a 10-point favorite over the Texans. And you would argue that a one-and-four team, and I think that's what they're going to end up being one-and-four. They're not
Starting point is 00:05:38 at home against a team that's going to be much better record-wise. They may be favored against Jacksonville. I would not be shocked if they were favored. They win this game this week. I would not be shocked if Jacksonville, who's currently three and one and who's Jacksonville have this week, Jacksonville's three and one, they're off, I believe. So then they've got that, I say Jackson, my bad, they're not at home against the Texans. That's a London game. My bad. But they're playing that game and that's going overseas. You never know what happens in that situation. I wouldn't be shocked if the Texans are favored in that game. So with that said, I've said this throughout the week
Starting point is 00:06:20 and I continue to stand by this. The lock of the year so far is that the Texans are going to cover the spread against the Titans. They are a six and a half point favorite and they're going to win and they're going to win big and they're going to get to one and four
Starting point is 00:06:36 and I think it's very possible that they go to London and beat Jacksonville but even if they don't. They're one and five at that point and you know what happens after you're one and five? You've got winnable games against I don't believe in the Browns at all by the way. you've got backup quarterback giants, you've got the chargers who are also winless, they're terrible, and I don't buy the Browns. Like, realistically, as bad as things have gone for the Texans, and I can't believe I'm being this guy here.
Starting point is 00:07:01 They lost a game by five, they lost a game by two, they lost a game by four. And that's what their defense being god-awful. If they figure things out defensively, even a little bit, get half better. They've got a schedule coming up based on what we know about these teams. they can go out and they can beat these teams. Let's say they get to one in four. Say they lose to the Jaguars, they're one and five. They will have three games coming up that they will be favored in.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Giants, Chargers, Browns. At that point, if they win that, what does that make them? They would be one in four, one of five. They would be four and five through nine games. With what, eight games to go. Like, they're not dead. As ridiculous as it sounds, they are not dead. And you look at the division, you've got 2-0 and 4 teams in the division, you got Jacksonville cool, the Colts are not very good.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Colts have given up more points than they've scored. I mean, everybody in the division has. It's pretty eye-opening when you see the Texans with a minus, what, 25-point differential. It's pretty jarring compared to Jacksonville, who is, you know, 50 points over. Even all that said, I think the Texans are going to be a damn near close to favorite over the Jaguars. That's how small the margins are in the NFL. So, but I think they're going to beat the Texans. Titans, I think they're going to beat them handily this weekend.
Starting point is 00:08:20 And, you know, I saw it was a Bootsie that posted something about whether or not the Titans is like the Texans game as the Titans Super Bowl. I don't believe that's the case because I don't think most of the players who play for the Titans care or know about the history of Houston and the Titans. I don't think they care. I don't think they care about the Oilers. Like, do you think that Cam Ward gives a shit about the fact that the Texans are, you know, or the Titans used to be the Oilers?
Starting point is 00:08:45 I don't think they give a shit. It is that for the owner because the owner remains obsessed with Houston for obvious reasons. But the owner is obsessed with Houston. We know the owner is obsessed with Houston. That's how it's always been. So I don't believe that the Texans or the fans, I don't even think the fans view it that way. Like, I don't think the fans in Houston care as much about the Titans as the Titans seemingly care about the Texans.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Now, the Houston people give a shit about the colors and shit like that. and they all have this little petty back and forth with the uniform colors, and it's all stupid shit. None of it matters. But I don't view this as a Titans thing where it's like, oh, it's the Titans Super Bowl, because I don't think the dudes who play for the Titans give two fucks about the Texans, other than the fact the Texans are in their division.
Starting point is 00:09:30 To me, that's the biggest difference. I remember the only thing that's really that pops about any of them is, hey, cool, we play in the same division, so a win would be important. We play each other each other twice, cool. Other than that, no one gives a shit. The owner cares, the two owners care. Like I do think it matters to the McNair's to beat the Titans too, just because of the beef between the two franchises.
Starting point is 00:09:51 But I don't think the players give a shit at all. I don't think the quarterbacks give a shit. I don't think the coaches give a shit. I don't think Robert Sala when he took the job in Nashville's like, we've got one job, and that's to beat the Texans twice. This isn't college football. You know, it's not, yeah, I took the Ohio state job. We have to beat Michigan.
Starting point is 00:10:09 It's not I took the Michigan state job. we've got to beat Michigan. It's nothing like that. Like, I think that's stupid and misguided and pointless. But I think the Texans win big. They're a six and a half point favorite. I would, they're pretty close to being the biggest favorite of the week, I think. I think that actually the Cowboys were and they're a disgrace.
Starting point is 00:10:27 They're just an absolute, they're just buffoons. The Cowboys are buffoons and you should never take them seriously ever because of the fact that they are buffoons. But let's see. As far as point spreads go, Jacksonville, seven and a, you want to know how sad. you want to know how sad shit's gone for Philly. Dude, I'm going to tell you something else. I would not be shocked if the Eagles win this weekend against Jacksonville. Seven and a half points Jacksonville is a favorite in a game that's in England.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Would it shock you if Philly figured things out for a day and won that game? I wouldn't. That's why when I see seven and a half points in an NFL game, there has to be a true decided advantage. Like last night, you would have thought there was a true decided advantage in that game. And it would be for Dallas. They lost because they're clowns. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Texans are now up to seven. Cincinnati, I don't know. Like Miami stinks, but there's a chance Cincinnati is going to be without both Jamar and T. Now, they're both questionable, but there's a chance they don't play. To me, Cincinnati cannot go on the road and lose that game. Vegas and New England, Minnesota, New Orleans. Minnesota's a favorite at New Orleans.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Fucking Saints. I hate you. I hate you so much. Detroit's a five and a half point favorite on the road. Detroit could lose that game. too, their defense stinks, so they could lose that. You know, Arizona's not god-awful. They're not great or anything like that, but they're not god-awful.
Starting point is 00:11:47 If you're looking for one game, though, that you could circle and say, I think this has upset potential. Like if you had to take, you're doing a pre-game show and it's like, give me one wild card pick where you have to take a big underdog. Do you win a game outright? I would not be shocked. Maybe I'm stuck in the past, and that's very possible. I would not be shocked if Philadelphia beat Jacksonville.
Starting point is 00:12:10 If you look at what Jacksonville's done so far this year, you know, nice win over the Bengals, they beat the Patriots, they lost to the Broncos, they beat the Browns so I don't believe in. You know, their point differentials damn near 50, but that's kind of due in large part to the fact they had a 30 point win over the Patriots and a 24 point went over the Browns. I'll do those things.
Starting point is 00:12:29 But again, Philly's a mess, and I'm aware Philly's a mess, but it would not shock me, as bad as they are offensively, as inept as they are offensively. with the fact that Lane Johnson retired, all this shit. I would not be shocked if Philadelphia rallied the troops and found a way to win the game.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I would not be shocked by this at all. So, I mean, I get that they're beat up. I get that they're dudes that aren't playing. I get the injury reports gnarly for them right now. Like, again, guys who are out, Devante Smith, out, Sequan out. But what has Sequan really done this year? Like, for whatever reason.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I would not be shocked if the Eagles won. And I've been wrong on the Eagles a couple times this year. But if I had to, there's a gun to your head. They're like, Josh, you have to take one team that's a big underdog that could win. What would be the biggest underdog that has a legit chance to win? I still think it's the Eagles. You know, could Vegas as a three and a half point underdog beat New England? Sure.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Again, we don't really know if Vegas is any good, but we'll see. You know, could Indy beat Pittsburgh on the road as a three-point dog? Yeah, of course they could. could San Francisco as a three-point dog beat Seattle? Sure. Now, Baltimore is going to be a dog, but they're without Lamar, so we're going to see how that goes.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I would enjoy watching Atlanta, who's feeling themselves right now, lose a home game to Huntley. Other than that, like Tennessee is not going to beat the Texans. I don't believe Miami's going to beat Cincinnati. Those are the ones that pop. And then you got Monday at the Rams minus three
Starting point is 00:14:08 against Buffalo. Buffalo could win that game. I mean, the Rams had to pull a rabbit out of their ass to beat a shitty Philly team. So, you know, let's, I mean, three point favorite. Maybe they finally figure it out. I don't know. But again, I think the biggest one, and this is a lock, the Texans are going to mall Tennessee. They're going to beat the shit out of them. They're going to get to one and four. And I think by week 10, they're going to be about a four and five team and not be dead. Because at that point, you've started out 0 and 4, then you're 4 and 5. that means you've what, gone four and one in your next five games after starting out 0 and 4. I think that's very possible.
Starting point is 00:14:45 But we'll see.
