All right, let's see here.
I'm getting kind of bored and tired of, what's the word I'm looking for?
Bro culture, if that makes sense in media.
And it's not to say that I think these people shouldn't have jobs or anything like that.
Like, I like Pat McAfee.
I think he's fine.
I'm just sick of Pat McAfee.
And I think his schick's kind of gotten boring for me, right?
I think that Dave Portnoy, who I think the pizza reviews are great.
And he's a brilliant guy and the stuff he's accomplished and he's done great things for people.
charity-wise. Like, there's a great pizza joint here called Freddy the Pizza Man that he gave
like an 8.5 to or whatever and changed the guy's life. Like, I think Dave Portnoy does a really,
a lot of really cool shit. But like, I'm just kind of bored with the schick of these guys,
right? Like, I'm just, I'm bored with like the bro shit, you know, like the man child shit.
Not that I don't do that same shit. Not that when I'm on the radio, you play fart and all, like,
I get that. Like, I'm not some perfect human that all of a sudden is Mensa level.
or someone that's out here doing, you know, NPR shit by any means.
For whatever reason, I'm just, I'm sick of these guys.
And I'm sick of their hypocrisies.
Like I saw, well, actually, let me play a couple commercials and we'll get into this.
Like, over the weekend, I was watching Pat McAfee talk about how he was urging Lane Kiffin to stay at Ole Miss.
Like, that was this big thing.
Oh, I urged him to stay at Ole Miss and he should have stayed and blazed his own trade.
Well, okay, that's fine. Say that. Say blaze your own trail. But why didn't you just stay on YouTube and blaze your own trail? Why did you go to ESPN? Well, the resources are greater at ESPN, right? You're on every TV. Every time you walk through an airport in the middle of the day, the Pat McAfee show is on. Because you went to ESPN, now you're on game day, and now you're everywhere. Why did you go to wrestling? Why didn't you blaze your own trail? Oh, I don't know, because the opportunities were better if you teamed up with ESPN. The opportunities for Lane Kiffin were better if he went to LSU. But you have to get
on TV and act all sanctimonious about it because people are ripping ESPN.
Like everything ESPN did over the weekend when talking about Lane Kiffin felt very calculated.
It felt like they knew people were dumping on them for like kind of being in the inside with
Lang Kiffin and Sabin giving him information about where he should go and all the guys urging
him to go to LSU.
And like they saw the blowback from that on social media.
So they went out and almost took sides and made it look like there was a debate.
between all of them about whether or not he should stay
at Ole Miss or go to LSU?
It felt contrived. It felt
like they knew that there was a reaction
to it and it felt like they needed
to go out and kind of try to balance
the scale a little bit and seem like they all
weren't saying, hey, go to LSU. And then
you had the people bitching that Nick Saban told
him to go to LSU. Well, Nick Saban coached
at LSU. Oh, it's a conflict of interest.
No, it isn't. The guy's a former coach.
He's on a TV show. He's worked
with Lang Kiffin. Lange Kiffin was his
subordinate for many years. He's a mentor
to the guy. What did you want him to do? Did you want him to go up? Nope, Lane. I cannot offer you
any information because I'm on college game day now. So don't come to me asking for insights on
what you should do. And then everybody tried to play the agent game and who gives a shit.
But back to McAfee. I'm listening to McAfee say this. And this is not me saying this as an
LSU guy. This is just me saying this is a person. Like, I don't like when people make moves to
better themselves, and then want to come out and tell people who made moves to better themselves
that they shouldn't have made the move to better themselves? Because I'm sure Pat McAfee was making
decent bank on YouTube running his own universe. Now, was it the money he was making at ESPN? No.
So the money part of it's not apples to apples because Kiffin was probably getting similar money
at LSU and Ole Miss. So obviously that wasn't part of it. But the money wasn't the most important
thing. I would imagine for Pat McAfee, the money was the most important thing. Because on YouTube,
you can build your own sandbox and be a celebrity.
You made yourself a celebrity.
You were on wrestling.
You made yourself a celebrity, right?
So it's similar.
Like, while it's money, I'm going to guess it was money.
There's no way he just wanted to go to ESPN because he wanted more exposure.
He went to ESPN because the exposure equals more money and more fame and it's money.
Lane Kiffin apparently wasn't chasing the money at LSU.
He was chasing the opportunity to get great players and recruit better and have better resources.
And oh, by the way, the guy just signed the number one player in the country and it's the first time LSU has ever
done that. They ain't doing that at Ole Miss. But anyway, so when I hear people like that
that come out and say shit like, you should have stayed and built your own thing and paved your
own path. Why not you? Why didn't you do it? Why didn't you stay at YouTube or start your own
company? Why did you have to go to ESPN? You know, why? You were at barstool at one point.
That's how Pat McAfee went from being punter guy to, you know, give Dave Portnoy credit his
sandbox is a starmaker. He's made.
making a celebrity out a lot of people.
That's why guys like T. Bob A Bear left Baton Rouge to move to Chicago to work for Barstool.
Barstool is a star maker.
He knows that.
That's a lot of these guys.
And then a lot of these guys leave.
Why do they leave for better opportunities and more money?
Why did Bussing with the boys leave for more opportunities and more money?
Why did Pat McAfee eventually stray away from that and start his own thing and then eventually go to ESPN for more money?
That's the only reason you do it.
So to get on TV and be like, I cannot believe.
Like, I would have stayed and blazed my untrived.
It felt forced and contrived, and it felt like a deliberate contrarian viewpoint to Sabin
so they can make it seem like it's balanced.
I think it was all bullshit.
Now, back to Portnoy.
So Portnoy is making all this news because he lost his bet in this Raiders game.
And I'll play the audio.
I'm sure all of you've heard it and seen the video by now.
But I will play the audio of him losing his mind after the Raiders kicked a meaningless field goal.
That's the worst beat of all time.
You have to investigate the Raiders
Investigate the Raiders
What are they doing?
What the fuck?
That's the worst beat of all time.
That is cheating.
What the fuck?
I got to rewind this.
That's the worst fucking beat of all time.
This is the worst beat of all time.
Pete Carroll should be in fucking prison.
Prison for people.
Pete Carroll.
First of all...
Before we get any further, of course, people are reacting to this like,
this is what gambling has done to our society and it's ruined sports.
No, it hasn't.
Gambling hasn't ruined sports.
People have been gambling forever.
So the idea that gambling is ruined sports is preposterous and stupid.
This is why America's rotting because of gambling.
Oh, no, it's not because of alcohol and pot and cocaine and other hard illicit drugs
or the drugs you get from the pharmacies or I don't know, the lottery or other
sorts of gambling or alcohol or any of that. That's not the reason why the world is broken.
Or social media, which is the ultimate culprit. No, the world is rotting and decaying because
of gambling. The refs, everybody. This is prison. This is prison. I also don't understand
how he doesn't get this. Like, I heard people on the radio here saying the same thing. Like,
the fix is in. It's rigged. Like, the only chance you would have had to have won that game if you're the
Raiders, and it was a minute chance, was to score twice.
So you kick the field goal, you whatever.
Dude, I get it.
I've seen bad beats, and none of them have cost me $250,000, but I've experienced some
pretty shitty beats in my day, and that would have been one of them.
And I probably would have been super pissed about it, but that didn't impact my life,
so I don't care.
But I can make sense of it.
Like, I hear all these people, oh, my God, there's a conspiracy, prove it.
Like, there's no conspiracy.
Like, they call the penalty.
Like, I guess my question, I love getting into conspiracy theories with people.
but like how like people talk about script writers and how it's all rigged and everything else explain to me how you rig something in the middle of rigging it like in the moment like that it's one thing to go into it premeditated and say here's what we're going to do we're going to make sure that you know the refs are calling a tighter game and fouls like the donagie stuff that's doable because it's happening before the fucking game starts so you want me to believe that just mid game they make a decision guys we got to make sure that this game gets down to this point in the game
game that this guy tackles this guy and then lays on top of him for extra time so you have to
throw a flag. Now, if you want to tell me that they should have never thrown the delay of game
flag that like it was pointless, sure. But with like seven, eight seconds to go in the game, you
think, hey, have a chance to kick a field going, kick an onside kick. So what people can't do,
it's like rip Todd Bowles for quitting, which a lot of people do. Like Todd Bowles with two scores
whatever, he's just taking a knee a couple weeks ago with Tampa. Okay, fine. And that pissed me
off because I had the passing yards for Baker in that game, and I was super pissed, so I get it.
But if you're going to rip people for quitting, quote unquote, during the game,
then you can't fucking rip them for trying.
There's 16 seconds left in the game.
By the way, the play before this, there was fucking 20 seconds.
They threw it.
Prison.
Also, how do you not understand that with 20 seconds in a 10-point game, if you're in
field goal range, you're going to try the field goal?
I know, like, he must really get mad when teams foul on.
purpose to send guys to the free throw line.
Over-unders in basketball games must be a real difficult concept for old Dave.
Spreads eight and a half.
They spiked the ball, by the way.
They ran up and spiked it as a temple.
Prison Pete Carroll.
Murder Pete Carroll.
I want Pete Carroll murdered.
Can you see this play right here?
And that's the thing that's gotten him in all sorts of trouble and people are ripping him.
Do I believe that Dave Portnoy really wants to murder Pete Carroll?
No.
Just like I don't want someone to go play in traffic when I say go play in traffic.
But what's going to happen is when you're a guy in Portnoy's become this guy that whines about jokes and says that people that make jokes about Jews are offensive.
And I think he was fighting with Kirk Menehane about that.
And he's now all super offended by certain jokes about certain people.
And now you look like a hypocrite.
And people go back and watch your old videos where you say, as long as it's funny, it doesn't matter.
Now you're super offended by shit.
You can't be the guy that runs out and says murder some guy and have.
people not take it seriously.
And there are going to be people who just hate you anyway.
And those are the people that are the worst that just hate you and they look for a reason
to latch on and kind of go at you.
And that's a life I've lived before.
As you guys know, I've had to deal with that where people who just don't like you
pile on for something that they don't truly believe.
Like, nobody believes that Dave Portnoy wants to murder Pete Carroll or wants people to
murder Pete Carroll.
But what happens is you say this and then there's people who don't like you and they want
to use it.
It's a political thing, right?
Like, they don't believe that what you're saying is offensive, but they feign being offended because it goes against you and they want to tear you down.
That's the way this works.
Can you see this play?
10, 9, 8.
Scramble, throws it down.
Games over.
There's 8, 7, 6.
They throw a flag for sitting on the guy with four seconds.
They know I'm going to come close to getting a play.
I mean, I get it. Not his point, but I get the point of the game. And Carol's point was,
well, I thought there was going to be six or seven seconds left, which would have been time to
kick a field goal and kick an onside kick. Like, I don't understand. Like, I get it. You lost $250,000.
I'd be pissed if I'd missed out on $250,000 as well. But the problem you're going to run into
if you're Portnoy is you feign being offended by shit that's not offensive now. And then you
want to say go murder somebody over the outcome of a bet and people are going to rip you for
it this isn't difficult i don't know i'm just getting kind of burned out on that overall culture i
think it's like it worked for a while because it was the opposite of you know when you talk about
the pendulum right the pendulum swings and for a while it was such a super woke era that we were
part of that the like the maccophies kind of seemed refreshing and the port noise but then you start
watching these guys and you realize they're pretty limited in what they do
do. Like, McAfee is very limited in what he's doing. And now there's too much of it. Now he's
like singing songs and shit and these boys with all these country singers. And more power
to him, bro. If I were you and I were making millions of dollars and I wanted to go hobnob
with jelly roll and shit, I'd do it in a second. I'm not blaming you. I just don't find it
interesting. I'm just kind of burned out. Like, I think the pendulum, now at some point,
the pendulum's got to swing to a part where there's a middle ground, you know, like in everything.
But the pendulum swung so far left and woke that people like McAfee came in and just the idea that they weren't woke or they seemed not woke made them interesting.
But now the more you hear from them, the more you hear from the port noise and other people, they just come across just as bad as the others.
So I don't know, I'm bored with these people.
Like, I don't know what the answer is, but I just find them boring.
Anyway, more to come.
