So, DeMond Williams was the quarterback at Washington.
He is no longer the quarterback at Washington because he's entered the transfer portal.
But some people are unhappy because he had re-upped and agreed to stay at Washington.
Washington with Jed Fish.
And then just yesterday, through his name in the transfer portal, and people are thinking
that maybe somebody was kind of tampering, how did this happen, what changed, the ideas
that maybe LSU has stepped in, and Lane Kiffin has thrown some money at him.
And now everybody's all worked up about this because this is rich.
Now we care about being committed to people in college athletics.
Now we care about loyalty.
Now that this guy signed a deal, which means absolutely nothing, by the way.
These things aren't worth the fucking money, the paper they're written on and the ink used to write the shit.
None of it matters, right?
But now everybody's worked up.
You got some Washington people, but I'm seeing stories across the country from people talking about this guy like,
boy, where's the commitment?
The guy signed a deal and now he's backing out to go somewhere else.
Yeah, that's how this shit works.
This is the college football universe you wanted.
This is the world you wanted to create
All the people that bitched for years and years
That players weren't getting paid
Players weren't getting what they deserved
That the education isn't enough, blah blah blah
And I don't disagree
But this is the world that you've allowed to be created
So you can waller in the filth
You dirty fucking biggies
Let's play a couple commercials and get into this
So here's the story
Washington quarterback DeMond Williams Jr. said
on social media Tuesday night. He is entering the transfer portal a move that comes just days after
he agreed to return to the Huskies for 2026. I have to do what's best for me and my future.
Williams had signed a contract to return to the Huskies last week with sources indicating to ESPN's
Pete Thammel. The deal was near the top of the market. So that's a decent amount of cash.
That could be four, five, six million bucks. Who knows? Like you see dudes now, like the going
rate for a high-end quarterback in the portal now is like $5 million.
sources told Thamel that Washington is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to enforce
William's signed contract. Good luck. Good luck with that. Have fun trying to enforce that
shit. Like, good for you. Enforce whatever you want. I don't believe that these are technically
legally binding contracts, are they? Or any of these contracts and any of these guys signed?
I don't fully know what these things actually are because no one knows what any of this shit is
because it's the Wild West.
That's the problem here.
That's the issue.
There is no collective bargaining.
There is no players union.
There's none of this.
It's just the Wild West.
And I'm sure that each individual school has their own individual ways of trying to punish people.
So what are you going to do exactly?
Are you going to try to force him to stay at Washington because he signed a contract?
Good luck enforcing that.
Like, do you think that if somehow this thing went to a court or something,
they look at your little dinky piece of paper that's some college player signed and go,
yep, that's binding.
There's nothing that would bind any of this.
It's all just bullshit.
It's all fairy dust.
It's, foo, it's fugazi.
It's all bullshit and made up as people go along.
In addition, the situation has drawn the attention of Big Ten sources, told the attention of the Big Ten.
The conference was vocal in Xavier Lucas's controversial transfer from Wisconsin to Miami last year,
supporting the Badgers in trying to enforce the defensive backs contract with the team.
Williams, a sophomore completed 69% of his pets.
There's not much to this story that I'm reading here.
Here's what I need details on.
What is Demand Williams' contract at Washington?
That's what I'm looking for here.
I need to know the details of what's actually in this contract.
But Washington allegedly has no intention to release the quarterback, but he wants to go.
Like, what are you going to do?
Hold him hostage?
What are you going to do?
Same?
Nope, can't go.
I have a contract here, right?
If somebody wanted to hire me away and I was destined to leave and I was just going
to stop coming to work, they could sue and they could sue me and they could sue the person
trying to hire me or whatever.
But at the end of the day, it ain't worth the money that it would cost to fight the thing.
And then in this case, the guy didn't want to play for you anymore.
You're going to force him to play for you?
You think that's the route you're going to take here?
Let's read some of the details on this.
Let's see.
His announcement came as a shock to those within the Washington Football Building, according to multiple sources.
When you consider the fact he just signed a new deal, it's hard to imagine the reactions within the program.
Well, again, tough shit.
Tough shit.
Sources also told outkick that the school has no reason to let Williams out of his agreement, which could end up carrying a heavy financial burden if taken to court.
Right now, Washington is exploring its options when it comes to legal remedies around the situation.
Well, give me the details on what, like, this actual contract.
quote unquote is. The crux could come down to whether or not Washington will now have the rights
to his NIL, meaning he would not technically be able to sign the same type of agreement with a
different school. This could also mean the Huskies would own Demand's rights pertaining to NIL,
which could lead to Williams paying the school a substantial amount of money to play somewhere
else next season. Look, if you're the school and you do this, it's not a good look for you,
and it's not smart to do that. Like, I understand that people sign contracts and people back out of them.
Fun fact, your boy Jed Fish, you want to talk about loyalty?
Your boy Jed Fish would have taken that Michigan job in a second had they offered it to him.
Now he stuck there at Washington because nobody was hiring him on this cycle.
Maybe he wants to stay at Washington.
Every report was that he would have taken the Michigan job.
So you want to tell me about loyalty?
Shove your loyalty up your ass at this point.
There is no loyalty.
It is the Wild Wild West.
I just find it hard to believe.
And I like the people who we pick and choose we want to rip for backing out of shit.
These dudes back out of shit all the time.
Like when Bryce Underwood is committed to going to LSU and then just goes, yeah, you know what?
I'd rather take $4 million to go play at Michigan.
No one shit on him.
No one shits on any of these guys who back out of these deals.
So what, he signed a contract to this?
Like, I'm a big believer in that, like signing deals.
I think you should do more of this.
There should be binding contracts to these guys obligated.
Stay two years in a place.
I'm tired of watching all the players move every 10 minutes too.
That said, they don't.
it's all just made up as they go along.
Again, Fugazi, it's fake.
It's not real.
So the idea that
Washington, you want to look bad for business.
You know it's going to be real bad for business trying to get dudes in the
portal? You know it's going to be real bad for business?
Being in the school that when a guy decided after he had signed a deal that, you know what,
I think I'd rather leave.
And I think I got a better offer somewhere else to not let that person out of that deal
and hold them to it and try to sue them over it.
You're going to really have a hard time getting people to come to your place, man.
it's not a good look. It is not a good look. Now, I'm a big believer. Again, collective bargaining.
I'm a big believer in the contracts and the players unions. That is something that should happen because this is fucking nuts.
But right now there isn't. So now Washington's going to go and try to make up some fairy tale excuse for why they can sue this guy or this guy has to stay.
The guy doesn't want to be there. So you're going to force a guy that doesn't want to be there to stay?
It's not going to work that way. That is stupid.
And it would be bad for business and a bad look for you.
This is college football 2026.
It is the Wild West.
It is every man for himself.
Like, lose me.
Lose me with this idea that we're going to be out here
and forcing contracts on these guys and forcing guys to stay.
So I need more details on this.
Like, let me know exactly.
Like, here's some of the story.
This is from Outkick.
For DeMond, the score.
the school could come after him for liquidated damages in the case.
According to multiple sources, Washington is prepared to fight this through legal remedies
while also looking into other schools for potential tampering.
Oh, no way, you think they were tampering.
You think out of the blue that your boy signs a deal and then three days later all of a sudden wants to leave.
And I believe he has like a no contact in his portal, which means he's already knowing where he's going to go or who he's going to talk to.
So you think so?
To go with the Steve Martin in planes, trains, and automobiles?
Do you think so?
Well, of course.
Of course he's going to, of course someone tampered.
May have been Lane Kiffin.
It is the Wild West.
It is Will Smith, Wiggity, Wiggity, Wild Wild West, Jim West, Desperado, Rough Rada.
No, you don't want to, none of this.
It's the Wild West.
It is Fantasy Island.
So good luck.
One prominent NIL attorney spoke without kick on Tuesday.
Good, let's hear from an attorney and had this to say about where we are now in terms of contracts with schools compared to past years.
This isn't like it was when you were dealing with collectives and funneling money.
You are now dealing with legitimate contracts and legitimate attorneys or general counsel from major universities.
The stakes are larger, which means the liability is greater.
If you don't have real attorneys from the player's side reviewing your contract,
opening yourself to potential litigation.
Also, officials at Washington are gathering evidence that another school made contact with
Williams after he had signed his new deal with the Huskies.
Even though this does play out behind the scenes every so often, this has been a hot-button topic
around athletic departments on Tuesday night.
There have been plenty of threats made by athletes through their representatives in cases
before pertaining to negotiations.
But having an athlete sign a deal and then potentially be shopped around in this era
might not end up turning out how Demand Williams might have hoped.
And the problem is, like, you read something from the standpoint of Outkick.
Outkick does not seem like the kind of outlet that is going to be pro player being on the move.
Look, you want to collectively bargain this shit.
You want to have, like, legit contracts and legit players unions and shit like that.
Give it to me.
But at this point, get fucked with your idea of tampering.
Get lost.
Get out of Dodge.
I don't give a shit.
this thing has become more dirty and more corrupt and more disgusting than it was
when a dude would sign at Oklahoma and just get like a cush job making a hundred grand a year
washing the windshields of cars or actually not even that literally sitting in an office
pretending to sell cars and make a hundred thousand dollars this is a different world man
this a dirty corrupt filthy world and at this point the only way you're going to win in it
is to be the dirtiest filthiest most corrupt son of a bitch out there you want to say that people
aren't out of here fighting these wars.
They're out there, brother.
It is legit filth.
Filth, flaren, flore and filth, disgusting, despicable universe we're in in college athletics.
So, like, good luck.
Go ahead.
You realize that if you sue DeMond Williams or you realize if you're trying to hold him to
his deal or whatever it is and he wants to roll out, it is going to have a negative impact
on how you are viewed as a place.
where players would potentially want to sign.
Because whether you like it or not,
these dudes don't want to be tied down to you.
Should they be? Sure.
Look, I told you this.
I have had people reach out to me about very good job since I got this job.
And at this point, I can't do anything about it.
I have a job.
So I get the way that world works.
And I believe that players should be held to their commitments on shit.
I do.
But until they figure out a way to make that happen,
I could not give two shits if these guys,
step and leave. Who cares? Who's going to stop them? There are no rules. It is
anarchy. So who cares? Give me the rules. Give me the set guidelines. Let me know how
the world works and how we operate in this world. Cool. Sign me up. But until that time,
it is anarchy. It's the fucking purge. It's just nonstop purge. It's like you can commit all
the crimes you want. Doesn't matter. You ain't going to jail. So if DeMond Williams wants to
roll out, hey, look, season isn't started yet. And I get
Jed Fish probably pissed off because he doesn't have a quarterback next year.
Jed Fish also is out there looking for the Michigan job.
And if Jed Fish would have taken the Michigan job, do you know what Jed Fish probably would have tried to do?
Well, if Jed Fish would have gotten the Michigan job, he'd have Bryce Underwood, so he may not want us quarterback.
So two things would have happened.
Because this is what happened when Jed Fish, fun fact, when Jed Fish was the coach at Arizona.
Jed Fish left, went to Washington, and who did he take with him?
DeMond Williams.
And if he left Washington and went to Michigan and assuming Bryce Underwood,
Wood didn't be, it wasn't there, whatever, he would have taken DeMond Williams with him there as well.
So everybody loves it when it's beneficial to them.
But when it is no longer beneficial to you and it is to your detriment, you want to swing your dicks because you've got the money because you're the university and you want to sue people.
It's bullshit.
So, like, I just love that this is the guy we're picking and choosing who to make the example of.
Like I see all these stories.
Oh, this is terrible.
How are we doing this?
There's no loyalty.
there is no loyalty none you know who's loyal the fans they're they're loyal to their schools
and their teams coaches ain't loyal players ain't low hoes ain't loyal none of them so lose me spare me
i don't need to hear about your loyalty we use words like honor code and loyalty well whenever
you can figure out a way to fix all that shit and make that the case then i'll buy it and i'll be
on your side when some guy signs a deal and then three days later gets a call from ls u or arkansas
are or wherever, and they want to pay them $2 million more than your offering, what would you do?
What would you do?
Like, I get that I signed a deal.
Like, these deals ain't worth the shit.
And you should be, like, I understand there are binding contracts and you have to honor contracts.
Are these really contracts?
Like, I know that that lawyer that we just read said these are closer to contracts and not just
collectives and whatever.
Okay, cool.
Let's collectively bargain this shit.
But if I'm Washington, I don't want to get into this world because I'm,
I'm Jed Fish and I'm stuck at Washington.
I didn't get that Michigan job.
The last thing I want to be is Jed Fish up in Michigan
having to try to convince dudes to come up to play for us
when we were just suing dudes for leaving.
So, best of luck with that.
