Episode Date: May 27, 2025

I watched a documentary on Peacock about women being involved in Romance scams. It's amazing how dumb these people are. No only are they dumb, but they are arrogant. Starting point is 00:00:30 You know I say this all the time, but when you watch Television shows or you watch movies or like classic sitcoms right like you watch you know the honeymooners Or you watch the king of Queens or you watch Everybody Loves Raymond or Still Standing or Home Improvement or just go down the list. There are plenty of shows that create a world where the husband is just kind of the big dumb oaf and the woman is smart and like for our entire lives we've been told that women are smarter than men, women know what's right. Can you imagine how great the world would be if women were running the country? Women would get things done. You hear about this all the time and by the way there
Starting point is 00:01:14 are plenty of smart women out there. Tons of smart women. There are plenty of dumb dudes, plenty of brilliant dudes. Like I'm not telling you that women aren't smart and that women can't be smart, but what we have been told is that it's kind of acceptable to just kind of treat dudes like dudes are like the dogs of the universe, right? Like we just like we just kind of treat all dogs like they're big dumb doofuses, right? And we treat all women like they're cats, like they're this sharp cunning creature that is out there that's all knowing and smarter than you and smarter than you and blah blah blah blah blah but one big thing that I've always believed in and I
Starting point is 00:01:49 think this is good for equality is that women can be stupid too and a lot of people won't say that that's considered kind of a taboo thing to say but women can be dipshits there are dumb, just like there are dumb men. There are dumb women. And if you would like to watch a documentary about dumb women, I will tell you about a documentary here after these words. It won't take long to tell you neutral's ingredients. Vodka, soda, natural flavors. Vodka, soda, natural flavors. So what should we talk about? No sugar added?
Starting point is 00:02:39 Neutral, hingly simple. So one of my other favorite things to talk about is people who get scammed on the internet. And some are like really like scams you could look at and go, holy shit, like that was pretty believable. Most of the time you're like, like if you're getting scammed because you're getting emails that look like they're from your bank and your bank is like someone has gotten into your account. And like if you're not looking deep into these phishing type emails and looking at the, the address that it came from,
Starting point is 00:03:18 looking for certain words that are misspelled, looking for certain things, then you might miss that. Your instant reaction might be shit. I'm worried that my identity has been compromised. Like those are believable. Like a couple of days ago, I saw an email talking about my, about how my Netflix was going to be put on like whatever you would say. They're basically stalling it because of a lack of payment issue. So I had to go look into it but my first instinct wasn't to click the link that was in the email because that link would
Starting point is 00:03:51 probably send me somewhere they'd get my information I'd be screwed so I went to look at Netflix my Netflix wasn't shut down or anything so like you just got to do a little bit of work and use your brain a little bit but at least those are ones like when it comes to money and shit like that you would go huh okay like I'm a little concerned. This could be true because you never know who's hacked into your bank account or whatever or got your information on the black market or whatever. So totally, I'm down with this. This is cool. I'm going to check that out and I'll go dig down a little bit. Maybe I'll call the bank, whatever. I'm not going to call the number that's in the email. I'm going to go search for another number. It's
Starting point is 00:04:25 a pain in the ass, but you can do it and it's possible. Those are the kind of scams that I'd go, okay, I can see where you're at least concerned about that. You can believe it. Then there are scams where there are people who like this happened in Nashville. I know I've told you guys about this before, but there was a story in the little Nashville area that we lived in in Mountain Juliet where like some guy got a call that said his wife was arrested and the only
Starting point is 00:04:52 way she was going to get out of jail is if the husband went to Home Depot and bought thousands of dollars worth of Home Depot gift cards to give to the cops. But even then the cops weren't actually going to show up. He had to drop these off at some location or some shit and you're like, sir, I understand that you're old and I respect that you're old. Like you deserve to be scammed if you're going to fall for a scam where your wife has been kidnapped. I
Starting point is 00:05:16 think it's actually what it was. It wasn't even kidnapped. It was that she was arrested. I think was the story. What like kidnapped you can go, holy shit, some guys kidnapped my wife. Like, why would the cops arrest your wife and then want you to give them gift cards to get her out of jail? But see, that's the thing is people are stupid. There's an arrogance that comes with getting scammed. That's another big thing. There is an arrogance that comes with this because you have to believe that
Starting point is 00:05:45 somebody wanted to kidnap your wife and want your money or that somebody that shouldn't be in love with you is in love with you and that's the kind of scam I'm going to tell you about in this peacock documentary. Let me see what it's actually called peacock documentary about about scams. Scams. Let's see what that one is. I want to get you the actual name on this. It is... That's not it. It's a romance. It's something about romance scam. It's like a romance scam. Romance scammers. Is that what it's called? No, that's a different one.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Either way, it's right there on the front of it. Like when you log on to Peacock, I believe it's Peacock, you'll find it there. But anyway, what's the story about? Well, the story is about three different women who were scammed, and I'm not going to spoil the whole thing for you, but three very unappealing women who fell in love with this guy on the internet. They all fell in love with him. And one of them was married. One of them wasn't like one woman was married but bored in her relationship.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So she fell in love with him. This woman, this is where the arrogance comes in. The picture that was sent was a good-looking guy, good-looking young guy that's allegedly in love with this. This woman, this is where the arrogance comes in. The picture that was sent was a good looking guy, good looking young guy that's allegedly in love with this woman, right? The woman had a giant gap. She's like 70 years old. There's no way in hell this man would be in love with you. Like you have to have some level of fucking self-awareness. That's the problem I have with people who get romance scammed is they
Starting point is 00:07:24 have no self-awareness. That's the problem I have with people who get romance scammed is they have no self-awareness. They never seem to ask themselves, hey, why does this relatively good-looking dude on the internet who just randomly found me on one of these websites, why is he in love with me? Why have I never met him? Now to give some credit, some of these women get scammed in a way where like they look like they're FaceTiming a guy and like it's possible like so some of the links these people go to to scam you is pretty fucking impressive but even then like how is it if you if
Starting point is 00:07:51 your face looks like this woman's face did and she's an old frumpy woman at no point did it ever cross her mind that there's no way this man could fucking be in love with her like like that didn't cross her mind it She never thought, oh this guy though, this is a scam. No, she's like, nope, this man is in love with me. This handsome guy that's like 30 years my junior is in love with me and she never even questioned it. These people, bless their hearts, and this goes to the point about how women can be stupid too. I know you watch The King of Queens and The King of Queens tells you that men are big dumb oafs and the women are women are all sassy and brilliant right it's not always true for as dumb as men can be and dumb get the guys get themselves into horrible situations and dumb situations and screw themselves over with their peckers and everything else dudes can be stupid.
Starting point is 00:09:05 but women can also be morons and you have to watch this documentary like you'll find it's like something about romance scam it's some documentary on peacock I think it's on peacock and when I tell you I have never seen anything like it. I don't want to spoil everything assuming you want to watch it. I'm not going to like give you the reveal and all this shit. But one of these women was scammed out of $1.5 million by this guy. One point. So that means she thought this person was so in love with her that she sent him money on the regular. Like he was in the hospital or something, needed money. $1.5 million. She sent this man. Never met him. Never asked herself, why is this man in love with me? You found me randomly on the internet, now you're in love with me. Sent this man over the course of time $1.5 million. One of these women was
Starting point is 00:09:50 like helping launder money for some guy that she was so in love with. Like, I don't understand. Like again, I can get how you can be scammed by like false emails, phishing emails, my bank sent an email that said I owe blank. Like those are all believable things and I can totally understand those and totally get those and I'm not judging you for falling for that kind of scam. Like you have to really like I only know about this kind of shit because every radio company I've worked at, they send you these phishing emails and I never respond to them because you just know they're phishing emails and then like a day later you'll get the next email, did you take the bait? Like
Starting point is 00:10:34 I didn't motherfucker because I ain't responding to your fucking emails. But like they give you the whole breakdown of what to look for. Like if you look closely, this one word is slightly misspelled or the phone number is missing a number or the email addresses from like some wacky foreign thing and that's the kind of shit you need to look for but if you're not hip to that jive I can see where you might go. Okay, like I'm I'm just going to click this because I'm worried about my money. You should never under any circumstance ever get
Starting point is 00:11:04 scammed by someone who says they're in love with you. If you do that, you are just a dumb person. And like these people are like, I feel so stupid. You should. And however stupid you feel, you should feel even stupider. Like you don't deserve to feel just stupid. You deserve to feel super duper rock star status stupid over the moon stupid. Particularly if you
Starting point is 00:11:31 gave someone 1.5 million dollars. Like I almost kind of have to give you part of a hook of this because then it sounds even more ridiculous. So this woman, I like I don't want to spoil it because if you want to watch it, you want to watch if you don't like turn it off this pot if you don't. So this woman, I don't want to spoil it because if you want to watch it, you want to watch it. Turn it off this pod if you don't. But this woman sent this man $1.5 million. Then she finds this group of people that claim they can help you find who these scammers are. And she starts talking to a person who is using an avatar of a talking cat instead of showing his face. And this guy goes, look, I think I can help you find this guy, but I'm going to need $500,000.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And she goes, that sounds fair, and sends this guy $500,000. Mind you, she doesn't know who this person is. She doesn't see his face. He's got like a fucking, like a robot cat face talking to her on a screen and she's like, I gotta find out who my scammer was. Here's $500,000 of this guy. This broad lost $2 million getting scammed and I don't feel bad for her. You are a dumb lady. Again, arrogance is a huge part of this. I believe that to be scammed, you have to have a certain level of, you have to lack a certain level of self-awareness and you have to have a certain level of arrogance to get scammed. To
Starting point is 00:12:53 believe that some guy, some dude that you've never met before is in love with you, not just wants to fuck you, is in love with you. And you never ask why. You never ask like, so what is it about me? Nothing. It's just, oh he loves me. Here's 1.5 million dollars. There's an arrogance that goes, I have the self-aware, I am a fairly self-aware person. These are not self-aware people. These are horned out old ladies who are just convinced that some random good-looking guy on Facebook is in love with them. Keep your ladies away. They need to be kept away from the internet. Anywho, more to come.
