All right, Jamokes, what's going on?
You can always send me messages, DMs, emails, whatever,
and let me know if there's like a particular subject
you want me to hit on during this.
So here's where I'm kind of in a bit of a situation
or a sticky wicket or a bit of a quagmire, if you will.
So I took the advice of a buddy of mine,
a listener of the show, and said, you know what?
I'm not going to read the
For You section of Twitter for a while and just see what happens, right? I didn't even do that
on purpose. I just noticed after a while that it was on the Following instead of For You tab.
So I'm like, well, it's been like three or four days and I haven't really bitched about much. So, um, perhaps I'll just
ride this thing out. I haven't looked at the for you in like five, six days or whatever.
And am I in a, in a exponentially better mood? I don't know that I'd say exponentially. I mean,
I'm in a better mood, I suppose. Uh, but I, I have less things that I'm bitching about. Cause
I have less things to jump off on. Like, you look at the For You, almost instantly I will see something that pisses me off because
that's what For You is designed to do.
So in an instant, I'll go, fuck this, I'm about to get angry.
And then I'll yell about it and then you'll have a podcast.
But I decided not to and now I find myself not having that
dumb comment or that dumb person to yell about and now I'm just kind of like so now like it
arguably it's to the detriment of the pod right like we can't just like that's indisputable now
maybe you like a more zen chilled discussion on the pod, in which case you're like, hey, you know what? I kind of dig this. not bitching about shit as much and I'm not angry
about shit as much and like I don't know what to tell you I don't know if you like it more again
DM me send me an email joshinashow at gmail.com please the door is open for you to do that but I
like here's what I've learned about me as a person and all the years I've been doing this which
amazingly it's been over 20 something years
that I've been doing full-time radio shit. I'm getting old. I'm best when I'm reacting to
something like that's kind of where I, like a lot of times I'm not going to get like mad on my own
about shit. I'm like, I'm in a way I'm sort of apathetic about a lot of shit. Like, I just don't care. But when someone has a stupid opinion about something, that's where I go.
Like, that's where I'm able to jump off.
That's why I like doing news segments on any show I do and have someone read me stories so I can hear it and jump off on it, right?
And part of it is because I'm not, like, in a city right now where I'm focusing on a team or something on a day-to-day basis. So I'm just not as locked into it.
You know, like I couldn't name any of the guys that are like, you know, I don't care about what's going on with the Astros or anything like that right now.
I just don't pay that much attention to it.
But like if I see someone say something stupid, I can go off on that for 20 something minutes.
And perhaps that's why you tune into the podcast.
Perhaps you like to just hear me lose my fucking mind over these random things on the for you tab.
And perhaps you don't. Perhaps you're like, I've really just kind of enjoyed this kind of laid
back conversation about radio and life and everything else. I kind of dig this. It's kind
of cool. Maybe that's what you're into on the pod. Maybe it's not what you're into on the pod.
I don't know.
But all I know is that I find myself trying to find shit to talk about.
But then I realized a large percentage of what I talked about was just reacting to people who I don't know on social media having idiotic opinions about shit. And that's kind of where I am right
now. So I just refuse to look at for you. Like, like if I go to my following right now on, um,
on Twitter, like I'll, I'll look at some of these and none of these are really
things that are enraging me. Cause I don't follow people who enrage me. Like that's like,
if you think about how stupid that is, like people love to get angry about shit. Right. And then they'll comment on you and be like,
why'd you get, why am I seeing this on my timeline? Well, then you look and they follow
you and you're like, well, numb nuts. That's why, because you follow me. Like I went through a purge
on my social media, not to, it was maybe a year or two ago. And I just started deleting all of these, like mostly
political people, right wing, left wing. It didn't matter. Right. Like I just eliminated many of
these people. I may have even done it on the podcast when we were in Nashville. I don't remember,
but I just went through and I'm like, I'm unfollowing these. Cause during the Ronan shit,
I just started following. I just followed everybody like Tucker, tell me what's going
on in the world. Tucker Carlson. I need to know what's going on in the world clay and buck
you tell me about these goddamn motherfuckers and their masks then i started following the
the masking people so i could be pissed at them and then i started following i'm just following
everybody and then one day i'm like i think this shit's way too political and i'm not here to do
a fucking political podcast because i don't really know or give a shit about politics all that much. I know social things. Like I can tell you how I
feel about certain things, but there's many things I just don't know and don't give a shit about.
So, um, I started unfollowing all those people. And then what you realize is that once you unfollow
them, if you just go to following, you don't see any of these people anymore so I love when like people like um like
people like Philly people do this more than anybody this is what they do on social media
if you post something they don't like on social media it's like they'll they'll start with I don't
even know this guy was still alive but then like you'll go to their account you'll see that they
follow you and you're like but you follow me and then they'll go off about how you sucked and how you failed and how you can't keep Philly out
your mouth and all that other dumb shit. But like the way to avoid that you see is to just unfollow
people. And that's why I unfollowed a bunch of people. So anyway, let me play a couple of
commercials here. All right. If you're ready to win some real cash during the basketball

So yeah,
um,
that's why like when I go through my following right now,
it's like there's a Chad Ocho Cinco or there's Mike Thomas,
the program director of Wei in boston tweeting something
or grind city media which is out of memphis and they're owned by the memphis grizzlies or
i still follow elon i guess uh and some other people but it's not nearly as just polluted as
it was with anger on my thing because if i see shit like that i'll unfollow them although oh
and then i guess you also see things that people you follow retweet because
I'm like, I don't know who this fucking person is, but it was retweeted by somebody I follow.
But either way, look, I'm truly interested, right?
If you want to send me an email, DM, whatever, and be like, Josh, please go back to reading
the for you or Josh, thank you for not reading the for you.
It's a far more peaceful time.
You can let me know.
Here's a radio story from a guy that I used to really enjoy,
but now I find to be this kind of really self-righteous, smarmy dickbag,
which he's always been, but it was kind of funny back in the day
because he used to do a really funny kind of acerbic radio show in Chicago,
like a unique- unique sounding sports show.
It was a show called Boars and Bernstein. And his name is Dan Bernstein. And Dan and his partner,
Terry, I believe they're both newspaper guys. That's kind of what sports radio started as,
is just dudes who worked in the newspapers and were columnists that got radio shows, you know.
But he works on the score in Chicago. And I used to think Bors and Bernstein
was a fucking hysterical show
because they were both just kind of assholes to everybody,
smarter than you, holier than thou.
You might call them liberal types.
And like, that's what they were.
That was their shtick.
And they would do funny fucking shit that was great.
And then somewhere along the way,
like Terry got old and he retired.
So they just start teaming this Dan Bernstein up with like this new crop of sports media people who
are not really clever or acerbic or cutting. They're just dopes that yell about sports.
Like, let's be real. That's what they are. Like you can like, you can look at guys like Tony
Kornheiser and say, oh, he sucks. He should have never been on Monday Night Football, whatever.
Tony Kornheiser, I always found to be a clever guy, and I enjoyed him because he never seemed to take things too seriously
and understood the concept of sports being the toy department of the world.
And I always kind of enjoyed that about him.
But you don't get a lot of guys like that anymore because now in sports media all the
rage is like being angry about shit or yelling about how your team's not getting respect or
breaking down draft this but which is fine for the people who consume that it just ain't for me
that ain't me babe so uh i just don't get into it but um dan i thought used to do a great show
called boars and bernstein and they would do a great show called Bores and Bernstein and they
would do a segment every week called who you crapping and it was just it was good sarcastic
shit and you know that I like good sarcastic shit but then of course his partner retired and he's
been teamed up with multiple different people since then moved to different day parts since then
and now like a lot of people have done in the era of Trump, in the 2016 and beyond era,
where many people who are liberal have just lost their fucking minds, right?
Not saying that right-wing people aren't fucking nuts too, but Trump has truly ruined some people.
That's why fucking Rosie O'Donnell.
I was watching an old SNL that Rosie O'Donnell was hosting, 1993, the other day.
It was funny and it was fine, whatever.
Now you look at her, mean Jesus fucking Christ you know now she's an Ireland guy so whatever but like this guy has
driven people to insanity right like that's fair to say that is a 100% like that isn't even really
a political take because I'm not offering you my opinion on the politics it is a take to say that
there are people that have legit Trump derangement syndrome. This dude ruined a bunch of fucking people. And Dan Bernstein feels like
one of those people. Now, why am I bringing him up? Here's the story. Dan Bernstein, midday host
for 670 The Score in Chicago, was off the air this morning following an incident that took place on
social media over the weekend. On Thursday, after posting a picture of himself catching a large fish with the caption,
this was a hell of a fight, a follower of Bernstein's ex-account claimed the fish he
caught was a pregnant northern pike and criticized him for killing it. This sparked a contentious
argument on the platform between Bernstein and the follower over the criticism of the photo.
As the exchange escalated, Bernstein, who has been with 670 The Score since 1995,
not only threatened the follower to a fight, but also potentially doxed the individual,
which means he just put his information out there. As a result, it was announced this morning on 670 The Score that Dan Bernstein has the week off.
Bernstein, who co-hosts Bernstein and Harris on The Score, has been involved in public feuds recently.
Most notably, he drew attention of Barstool sports founder Dave Portnoy after Barstool Chicago host Eddie Farrar served as a co-host for the show on 670 The score alongside matt spiegel uh further adding to the fallout camp one step a charity that provides camp experiences for children battling cancer uh cancer announced
on social media yesterday that bernstein has been removed from its board of directors following his
comments like what are you fucking losers doing man like what are you doing? Like Jesus, like these old, here's the problem with some of these
old school guys. And I'm kind of in the, like the old school, um, some of the old school people,
cause I'm getting older, I guess. But like the generation before me didn't live with social
media. So they don't know what the immediate blowback is. And it's still somewhat new to them having to deal with immediate blowback.
And they don't know how to handle it.
Like, that's a Missanelli response to shit.
Like, hey, I'll come fight you.
Like, what the fuck are you doing, man?
Like, why?
Now, Danny Parkins, who now works for FS1 but used to work for 670.
Now, mind you, he too is a super d duper liberal individual uh is angry with this charity
for taking dan off the board of um directors uh what an awful decision dan has raised how much
for your worthy cause literally over a million between on-air matches awareness emceeing growing
poker turning etc actual tangible impact and because comments on social media, you drop him,
this hurts your station and helps, this helps your mission and helps know it. But here's the
thing about guys like Danny Parkins and these guys, when you say, because of comments on social
media, these are the same dipshits that want people fired for comments on social media all
the fucking time. These are the people that see you make a joke on social media
and want you booted from your job forever. I don't disagree with his point. Why would a charity
distance itself from a guy that's raised them a million dollars? Like I'm with you.
My problem is you're all fucking hypocrites because you're constantly looking to get people
fired because you're sanctimonious fuck faces that think you're the gods of the world. And anybody who says something
you dislike, you want them fired from their fucking jobs or you dox them. That's my problem.
So you're not wrong. You're not wrong that we're too quick to want to knock people off of the board
of directors of shit. And we're too quick to want to fire people, but you're the people doing it.
And when I say you,
the people,
it is people who are largely left-wing media people.
They are so quick to want people to lose their jobs and their livelihoods over quote comments on social media.
I guarantee you,
if you dug it up,
you could find Danny Parkins trying to fucking get someone fired from their job over, quote, comments on social media.
That's what these people fucking do.
And now the pendulum is swinging against them.
Again, it's stupid to get rid of a guy, but it's also stupid to go to the internet and try to fight somebody.
You fucking meatheads.
You're just like Missanelli and all these other dipshits.
Like, that's your fucking old school answer to everything.
I'll challenge you to a fight.
All right, you fucking lesbian, come fight me then.
Show up.
Show up and let's see what happens when Mike Missanelli shows up at someone's house to fight them.
He'll look like goddamn Marty McFly looking up to fucking Biff.
The only way he's going to be able to get him is say, what the hell is that?
And punch him in the fucking face and run.
Get on his hoverboard.
Below are screenshots of the original deleted social media post by Dan.
Well, let's see.
Let's see.
I thought radio hosts in Ohio were nuts.
Dan Bernstein in Chicago escalates this fight over a fish.
Let's see.
Let's see.
With the dry, it says, I think he says he didn't kill the fish.
He says, with the dried blood on the gills, sure it did, Dan.
Liar.
I never respond to trolls, but questioning my sportsmanship
and conservation awareness sets me off.
Want to fight?
I'm a bad enemy fucker
like what are you people doing you old fucks you old fucks that keep getting all these fucking
jobs like you get all the jobs and you keep these jobs you're just meat like deep down in places we
don't talk about at parties you're just meatheads old school meatheads that want to fist fight everybody you
fucking dopes says he kept going even when the dude walked want your kids involved up to you
just say i'm sorry for being a dick and all stuff dude just like get the fuck over it
god these people are fucking imbeciles, man.
Just stone cold imbeciles.
But like, and then I used to,
and I used to think this guy was great.
But somewhere along the way,
the combination of social media and TDS
just ruined a lot of fucking people.
But I like when these like, you know,
people that I know are left-wing media people.
And again, this isn't me just trying to, but this story focuses on that.
Trust me, there's a lot of right-wing media people that are fucking imbeciles too.
But in the sake of this story, I know people like Danny Parkins and these guys are super duper left-wing individuals.
That don't want to see people lose things over comments on social media.
But then the second, some like 11-year-old, like we unearthed the tweets of some 11-year-old or a baseball player when he was 11 years old. We're like, oh, I 11 year old. Like we unearthed the tweets. Of some 11 year old.
Or a baseball player.
When he was 11 years old.
We're like.
Oh.
I don't know.
We got to be careful on that.
That's pretty racist.
We got to.
We got to.
Doc.
Oh.
Fucking idiots.
God.
Media is the worst.
Anyway.
So.
That's that story.
And I tell you.
That show used to be great.
That station used to be really good.
But for the most part.
Sports radio is dog shit now anyway.
But what are you going to do?
All right.
More to come.
