The Josh Innes Show - Insane Responses To Charlie Kirk Murder
Episode Date: September 12, 2025I'm well aware we are in an era where people are insane. Social media reveals this on a daily basis. I'm not shocked that people are dancing on this man's grave. He's a public figure and people a...re nuts. It happens on both sides of the aisle. I am shocked by how many people are willing to post dumb shit that gets them fired from their jobs. It's amazing to me how dumb people are,
and I don't even know if dumb is the right word to use,
how bold people are,
how people are of the belief that there are no consequences for the things.
things they say and for the things they do.
It's like they feel like if their viewpoint is super righteous and their viewpoint is in
their mindset, like the moral high ground, that there's no way that anybody would
disagree with them.
Thus, there's no way that their actions or their words could have consequences.
And we've seen a lot of that with this Charlie Kirk death.
Now, again, we talked about this yesterday.
I don't even really know who Charlie Kirk is and I don't really care and I know that he's
been kind of elevated to hero staff.
by right wing type people, and that's fine.
Like, everybody's got their own heroes, and I get all that.
Fine.
But admittedly, I don't even really know who the guy is or was.
I talked with Jilly whenever, you know,
Jilly was texting me about this because her friends were like,
hey, did you see Charlie Kirk was shot?
And Jilly's like, I don't even know who the fuck Charlie Kirk is.
Like, if you are deep into the political world,
then you probably knew who the guy was.
Or if you're somebody who's just a bat-shit crazy left-wing person
and who hates everybody who's associated with Trump
because you have Trump derangement syndrome
or anybody who has a different viewpoint than you,
then you probably knew who he was.
Or once you heard he got shot, you Googled him
and you started seeing these stories like,
oh, he has no issue with guns, huh?
Well, watch this.
I'm going to screenshot the story where he said that,
that, you know, if some people die
because it protects the Second Amendment,
then so be it.
And then you screenshot that and then whatever.
Why do I bring this up?
Because I am blown away.
by the amount or the large number of people
who are so willing to say dumb things on the internet
it is mind-blowing now I know what you're saying Josh
obviously people say dumb shit on the internet Josh you've said dumb shit on the
internet of course I have and of course people do

more. Like, I'm looking at this story. Let's see. There was a headline that I just saw that I'm
like, blown away by the absurdity of some of these people. Like people that are college professors,
people who are teachers, people who are doctors, people who are lawyers, people who are
firefighters. And I see a lot of these things on libs of TikTok, you know, which is an account on
social media that you can follow and just see liberal people saying dumb shit. Again, I follow a lot of
dumb shit and other shit. So before you say, oh, there goes left or right wing jaw shitting on left
wing people, whatever. I follow it. I followed it for a long time. And it does reveal how dumb some
of these fucking people are, right? They are fucking lunatics. Like, I got a buddy of mine who I like a lot
and I even messaged him and I'm like, dude, perhaps you should stop posting so much crazy shit.
because it's not that I don't care
that your viewpoint is different than other people
I might disagree with it
but my buddy was posting so much shit
and I'm like dude like you're not
like a quote unquote high profile person
it's not like you're a celebrity or anything
like that but like if I were your
boss and I saw the shit you were posting
and like some of the shit you were posting
that was pretty fucking out there
about like a guy getting
assassinated or you're constantly fighting
with right wing people on social media
I'd be like dude
I run a business where I'm trying to bring in everybody here.
Could you not go full on fucking Keith Olberman on social media every fucking day
about these things?
Can you pull back just a little bit?
Like, kind of like, hey, let's scale back the craziness, right?
And that's not to say that there aren't right-wing people that post a bunch of crazy shit
too.
But what I've learned about the people who post crazy shit is you start getting these left-wing
people that post crazy shit.
And I think in their mind, they're the moral superior, they're the superior or a superior,
You're a superior moral group.
Therefore, like, there's no rules in what they can say because they've been convinced and
they've been told and they've been fed that anybody who disagrees with them as a Nazi and
Hitler, that anything they say is fine because they're trying to kill Hitler.
And it's absurd.
It's obviously absurd.
And some of the stories I see, like, you see these stories about these guys.
And now, this lives of TikTok and other people are on the quest to get people canceled for differing
viewpoints. Now, you would think that runs kind of counterculture to what the Trump
fuck your feelings people and anti-counterculture people feel. But I guess those people now feel
like, hey, the liberals have been doing it so long. If you can't beat them, let's fucking
join them. So now they're part of cancel culture as well. It's hysterical. Both groups are
trying to cancel the other group. Yet both of them are claiming that they hate censoring people's
voice. The same people that go to the internet and are like trying to shut up people like
Charlie Kirk, those same people
when they get fired for posting shit about how
they don't care that Charlie Kirk is dead,
they're the same people that want to shoot
Charlie Kirk for having a differing opinion.
But anyway,
you look at some of these
stories,
and these stories are, like
I was reading, like,
there's high school teachers
that like, I will never feel bad this guy
is dead. Like, where do you
think, like, where is this going?
Like, what do you think is
going to happen when you post shit like this.
Then like the libs of TikTok type people go out and they're like, you know, tweeting at your
boss and saying, hey, is this the kind of person you want teaching fucking kids?
Somebody that goes to the internet and celebrates and mocks a guy for getting his head blown off?
Like, is that who you want teaching your kids?
I saw one guy and, I mean, this is fascinating.
It fascinates me like a guy who was a lieutenant firefighter, right?
He was like a firefighter who's like a lieutenant and like a local.
Firehouse or something.
And he's tweeting about how, like, he doesn't give a shit that this guy died because he's a scumbach.
So if I'm to believe that you think Charlie Kirk was a scumbag due to his conservative beliefs or whatever,
how am I to trust that you're going to help people and that you're not biased in the way you help people?
Like, again, this is, you know, a reach, but like, are you going to help somebody?
Like, if you pull up to their house and it's on fire and it's like, oh, by the way, they have a MAGA sign out in their yard.
going to work a little bit slower to hope the family dog gets incinerated?
Like, I know that sounds kind of ridiculous, but these people are kind of fucking ridiculous.
And of course, the argument would be.
This is an argument that I got from my buddy.
And he's like, well, what happened when such and such got shot and the right wing people
did it too?
I'm going to tell you a little something.
And this might offend some of my right wing buddies, and that's fine and right wing listeners.
But I have a different set of standards for the left-wing people than I do for the right-wing people.
And I don't know why I feel this way.
Like, I don't know why I feel like they're, like, a lot of them are the college-educated types and the, what's the word I'm looking for?
The empathetic types.
My expectation for you is to not want to go out and tweet things like, I'm glad this guy is dead or why couldn't it have been Trump or whatever.
Like, I feel like there's a different expectation for you.
And it's almost like I'm more let down by the fact that you're supposed to be the educated people in the country.
No offense to, I'm not saying that the right-wing people are all morons.
Look, I probably, like, if it came down to who you'd want to hang out with, nine times out of ten,
I'd probably want to hang out with the right-wing guy over the left-wing guy,
because the left-wing people, let's be real, are pretty fucking insufferable.
A lot of your right-wing guys are good old boys and people that just like to drink beer and shit.
Left-wing people, in my experience, are very obnoxious and over-the-top and dramatic and all this shit.
I mean, see this last week of all the shit we're seeing.
But I have a different expectation for liberal people because they're supposed to be the empathetic, educated people.
And what we end up getting from the left-wing people is like they want to get down in the mud and they want to like, they want to celebrate motherfuckers getting shot.
And what you realize is these people, the extremist on both sides, are no better than the other extremists on the other fucking sides.
You're extremists.
There are a lot of people like me that hang out kind of in the middle of shit and just sit back.
I would never go to social media in 2025 and be like, hey, I'm glad this motherfucker's dead
and he's Hitler and I hope Trump is next.
Like if I posted that, I would not have a job.
And you'd say, well, Josh, aren't you fighting for freedom of speech?
Sure.
But freedom of speech, you have the right to say whatever the fuck you want.
No one is stopping you from saying anything.
But if you have a boss and that boss is like, hey, our client,
now think you're a fucking lunatic. Sorry, you got to go. That's part of it. I've been fired
literally for things I've tweeted. It is 2025. My ass would not go, like my, the thought never
crossed my mind to go to social media and tweet anything about this shit other than like
retweeting a couple of fucking crazy people and being like, whoa. Like, what are we doing here?
like what are we doing to the point like i just want to know what goes through your mind when
you're like like here's a story for you middle tennessee state so that's in um that's right down
that murphy's borough tennessee university fires the dean this guy was the dean of middle
tennessee state university i wonder what this guy's salary was like i want to know what the dean
of middle tennessee state salary dean of middle tennessee state
University salary. What does this guy get paid? Employee database. All right, the dean of college. I mean, you look at some of the salaries. The specific salary for a dean at Middle Tennessee State University can vary significantly. But David Butler earning a salary of 258,770. That's the dean of the College of Graduate Studies, who made 258,770. So this lady, her name was Lord.
Laura Sosh-Litesy. Let's see if they have her salary posted anyway.
Anyway, Laura Sosh-Litesy, M-T-SU salary.
Let's see what she says, what her salary was.
Let's see.
I can't find the damn thing anywhere.
But this chick's the dean, okay?
If you're the dean at Middle Tennessee State, I'm sure you're making a nice living as the dean at Middle Tennessee State University.
Okay.
She's been there since 2004, so you've had a job for over 20 years, and you threw that job away and probably a pretty good salary so you could go to the internet and say that you don't feel sorry that Charlie Kurt got his head blown off.
You threw away everything you had so you could go and chase fucking clout because you got TDS.
Like, I'm not saying this to like shit on the left wing people or prop up the right wing people.
I say this to people who like are buddies of mine and other people who are like left wing types or right wing types for that matter.
Think.
Like do you really think?
Like is it worth it?
My dad always asked me that too.
Like Josh, these things you're posting on social media.
Is it fucking worth it?
Is it worth it to go out and risk everything?
Like, because if it is fine.
But are you willing to risk everything over getting out some point that a week no one's going to carry a hat?
All these people are going to martyr you whenever you get fired for your job for speaking your mind.
Then two days later, they're going to forget you ever fucking existed and they're still going to have your jobs and you're going to be out of work.
But hey, congratulations on being a hero for the day saying that you don't give a shit that some guy got his head blown off.
A dean at Tennessee University was fired over social media posts saying she has, quote, zero sympathy for slaying conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The move, quote, concerning the horrific and tragic murder of Charlie Kirk, Middle Tennessee State University's president, Sidney McPhee said in a statement,
came after what officials are calling the political assassination of the American right-wing activist on September 10th.
The school is about 40 miles down from Nashville, blah, blah, blah, blah.
According to information from the university's website and social media, the school fired Laura Sosh Lightsey, who joined the family in 2004.
Laura has over two decades of experience in student development.
According to her LinkedIn, she was an assistant dean of students and previously attended Western Kentucky University.
So her comments were brought to attention of U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, who in a repost on X, called for the dean's removal.
Like, if you're the dean of students at a university and you are to expect that people on that campus have varying viewpoints about politics, you may not want to celebrate that one side of this spectrum just had one of their biggest voices get shot on a college campus.
Like, it is fucking insane to me how crazy these people are.
And, like, I wonder if they think, and I know how they think, they think that because theirs is the righteous opinion and theirs is the moral,
that they are morally superior to everybody,
that they are untouchable people.
You're not fucking untouchable.
I just can't imagine in 2025 thinking that's the play.
I can't imagine going,
yeah, first thing I want to do is run to social media
because I got to make sure the whole world knows what I think of something.
I'm going to run to social media
and make sure I'd let everyone know
that I am glad that this guy got his head blown off
and I don't feel bad for him.
And by the way, I'm not saying you're not allowed to have those opinions.
You can have whatever opinion you want.
But just know that you represent in this case
at Public University, Middle Tennessee
State University. On that campus
you will have Christians, you will have
Muslims, you will have Jews,
you will have all sorts of different people
on the campus of Middle Tennessee State.
Right wing, left wing, moderates,
you'll have everybody in there.
And like, would you
go to your social media
if, you know, some
Muslim activist, if like Malcolm X
would have happened in this era?
Would you have gone there and said, good?
Fuck him! No, you probably
wouldn't have. But because this guy who's
conservative, and you guys have convinced yourselves
that because this guy is conservative and
their leader is a Nazi
and their leader is Hitler, that anybody
who is associated with Hitler must
go down and you celebrate it, you are
fucked in the head.
I'm just, I'm fascinated.
I am just fascinated
by the stupidity
of these people.
I am
fascinated that somebody who's in a high
profile position. I saw that some guy
that was in, like, communications for the Carolina Panthers got fired for a post.
Bro, you work for the Panthers.
You are apolitical, chief.
Shut the fuck up.
Like, oh, fired.
Like, what did you think?
Like, I'm enjoying watching these dipshits get their comeuppance.
I'm enjoying it.
Look, I've been fired for tweets.
Like, when I got fired at WIP, the technical reason was for tweets.
The reason I got suspended before is because of tweets.
I've tweeted shit.
I get it.
I try to avoid that now because it's stupid
and tweets are forever
and they have no context
but just the fact that these people
are just so willing to be like
here you go well this guy's dead good
fuck them and they think that like their business
isn't going to view that as a poor representation
the fact that they think that their business
that they work for is going to look at them and go
cool congratulations on your free speech
you're really representing us in a positive light
when you're celebrating that some
guy just got his head blown off on a college campus because he disagrees with you on
abortion and guns.
Lunatics, man.
Lord.
Anyway, and these are nonstop because I see this libs of TikTok account and they are just
nonstop from these people and I'm like, I just, I'm, like, it is astounding the shit that
people will post and think like that no one's going to see it.
And like, and like, even if, like, you know that these.
these groups of people, these libs of TikTok
and these other people, are looking to get
people fired. Like, it's, it's
what they want to do. It's like they're
reversing course on all of this. Like, they're,
they're throwing it back in the face of all the
cancel culture people. And now they are the
cancel culture people. And you can say, well, that's kind of
pussified. Sure, it fucking is, but they're looking for
an eye for an eye. In the same way, when I
talked to my liberal buddy, like, he's
kind of like, well, they've always said bad shit
about blank who got shot. Everybody's just
looking for an eye for an eye. Everybody's
like,
Well, they did it, so I'm going to do it now.
People are fucking nuts, man.
Anyway, more to come.
