Episode Date: December 1, 2025

In what is probably the most absurd story/headline of the day, a Titans player accused the Jaguars punter of threatening to kill him on the field. Starting point is 00:00:00 I enjoy this story today. It comes from the Jaguars. So apparently the punter for the Jaguars threatened somebody from the Titans, the running back. So the punter from the Jaguars threatened the running back from the Titans. And the Titans dude took it seriously, I guess. This is a strange story just because like the fact that it's a story is strange. But let's do this. Let's take a quick little break here,

All right, so the story reads, Jaguars punter Logan Cook allegedly saying he would kill Tennessee Titans running back Julius Chestnut during a skirmish in Sunday's game is normal trash talk between two players, says Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Quote, I've probably heard that said, I mean, 100 times from players in games, So whatever. Now, the reason why the coach of the Jaguars has to talk about this is because this guy, Julius Chestnut, who's the running back for the Titan, said that the kicker from the Jaguars threatened to kill him, I guess, and I'm going to kill you. Now, apparently he took it very literally, which I don't know how you take that literally. It's football. Like, I mean, you say I'm going to kick your ass. Do you think that someone's going to kick your ass every time? It says you're a fuck you, motherfucker. I mean, like, there's just different things that people say on a football field, like the fact that this guy went serious with this is strange.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Another thing I didn't know is that the punter from the Jaguars, maybe I should pay more attention to this kind of stuff, but the punter from the Jaguars is six foot five, two 30. I had no idea about this. The guy's been in the league for seven, eight years, so it's not like he's a new dude. I just never knew that this dude was six foot five, two 30. So I guess maybe the dude could kick your ass. It's not your typical little kicker or punt or whatever. But Chestnut made the allegation in the locker room
Starting point is 00:02:30 after the Jaguars 25 to 3 victory at Nissan Stadium. He said it happened during a skirmish following a fourth quarter punt and the two players were immediately surrounded by teammates. Jaguars long snapper Ryan Matzik grabbed a titan's player and threw him to the ground during the altercation. When it was over, Cook and Mattisik were penalized for unnecessary roughness. Tennessee corner care alarm and safety Mike Brown also were penalized for unnecessary roughness and Brown was ejected.
Starting point is 00:03:01 So this is what Cook. So this is what, so Logan Cooks the punter. I don't even know what I did to earn the penalty. I was trying to take up from my boy Dewey. It is what it is. We live with each other. We ride with each other. That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So play football long enough. Football stuff happens. Now, Chestnut, who Block Cook during the Titans' kick return, said he was just playing hard and came up to me and said he was going to kill me, so I don't know what made him do that. That was surprising to me. I ain't never seen nothing like that before. I find that hard to believe. I find it hard to believe that old buddy here has been playing football for as long as old buddy's been playing football, which is probably the better part of his adult life and his child. I mean, obviously his adult life and his childhood and everything else, and you've never had someone say,
Starting point is 00:03:50 something like, I'll kill you before. And the fact that this is a story I find to be hysterical. Like, like, whoa, whoa, whoa. We took that a little too literally there, pal. But I'm trying to think. Like, I mean, I've said some fucked up things to people before, whether it be like playing sports or you know I've said some fucked up things to people on the radio.
Starting point is 00:04:11 But like, it's funny when you do shit that's clearly on the radio and people take it literally and take it very seriously as if you, It was like the, you know what it's like? It's like when I told the dude to go play in traffic in Philadelphia. And all of a sudden this was the most offensive thing that anybody had heard. Like I legitimately meant that I wanted the dude to go out and get hit by a car. And it got to the point that the author, Jeff Perlman, like, started tweeting about how I'm a piece of shit because I told this guy to go play in traffic.
Starting point is 00:04:38 And I'm like, dude, like that's a saying. People have been saying that shit for a hundred years. Like the idea that I just plucked from the air, this idea that, hey, go playing traffic. And that's some new novel thing that I came up with. like the fact that anybody like reacted to that in that way was funny to me and it was fascinating to me and now what you end up with is you get these guys like this guy guys like this guy said he was going to kill me do you really think he was going to kill you do you think that the punter from the jacksonville jaguars is a lunatic that is going to hunt you down and kill you is that
Starting point is 00:05:11 legitimately what we're thinking here like i've had dudes tell me they're going to kick my ass i've I've had dudes call me fucking names playing sports. Like, I've said shit to my buddies playing sports. It's like Kevin Garnett calling dudes cancer patient on the court. Like, people say fucked up shit. But, like, nobody takes it literally. Nobody takes that shit literally, except this dude, except Julius Chestnut, the running back from the Titans, who's like, wait a minute, guys, this guy said he's going to fucking kill me.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Whoa, hold tight. This guy threatened to kill me, and now I am worried for my save. And he goes, man, I ain't never seen anything like that before. How? These dudes say the most fucked up repugnant shit on the football field all the time. It is nothing new. There's nothing that makes you go, oh boy, that, that's, that's new. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I mean, shit, you hear the shit these guys are saying to each other when the mics are hot on the football field too. Like, I don't know, I've never, like, I can tell you, I've never heard a guy. Like, here's what I love. Here's what I love is the headline. when you look at like the address for this story right like this is beautiful jaguars cohen says cook's alleged threat normal trash talk it's not a threat like alleged threat so you like the fact that ESPN is running this as a headline saying alleged threat jaguars Cohen says cooks alleged threat is normal trash talk how is it a threat like the only way it's a threat is if you
Starting point is 00:06:43 legitimately believe that the punter from the Jacksonville Jaguars is going to kill you, that he's going to last Boy Scout your ass right there on the field. I'm tickled. I am tickled by this story, and I'm tickled that ESPN is reporting it in a legitimate manner, right? Like, I'm fascinated by the idea that ESPN reports this with, Jaguars Cohen shrugs off punter's alleged threat for it to be a... threat you have to believe that the dude who is the punter for the jaguars is really going to kill
Starting point is 00:07:20 the running back from the titans do you legitimately believe that does anybody with a brain legitimately go you know what that tracks i think he's going to kill him now that's not to say that it couldn't happen that's not to say that somebody couldn't get you know plugged or some guy goes crazy or some motherfuckers got CT and stabs his whole family that shit happens like you could crispin what but like he could chrispin wah the situation but in what universe does anybody sit there and go you know what i believe it i think i you know what i like do we think basically what it happens is dude this dude plays for a team that's getting its ass worked and for some reason he just starts like why did he bring this up is the other question i have like what brought this up other
Starting point is 00:08:07 than you know like they're talking about it after the game but uh so chestnut blocked a punt during the game obviously we brought that up says after the game he was just trying to play hard and he came up to me and said he was going to kill me so i don't know what made him do that i don't know the same way that you go up to someone and say i'm going to kick your ass that i mean like it's just people say dumb shit it's in the heat of a battle i guarantee you some other people have told you some dumb shit like that before this can't be the first time you've heard dumb shit said to you I'm trying to think of other examples Like when people just like like
Starting point is 00:08:42 Because I think people have Are unable to comprehend things anymore Like they don't cope well And I just think people are dumber than they've ever been We discuss this all the time Like just people are morons now And people have They're brainless
Starting point is 00:08:55 They are brainless dipshitshits now And I told you The best comparison I can think of Is when I said that the dude should go play in traffic In no way Am I intimating that the guy should legitimately go get hit by a car but it became like oh my god this guy's been hit by a car before and he should go play in traffic you said he should go play in traffic i'm like what the fuck are we
Starting point is 00:09:17 talking about like that why is this a thing but that's how people are like people are just stupid like you'd like to think that they're just like trying to start shit whatever i truly think people are just dipsets and that's fair to say because look at look at what we are as a people now we are just like people are stupid people are top shelf morons and we're dumber i forgot who i was listening to it might have been the podcast the rogan interview with um with uh billy bob thornton which was very good and i love billy bob and he's great but you just talk about the stupidity of people about how like the internet has just made people dumber and people are dumber and i do think part of it is people just want to be outraged by shit like even a football player wants to be outraged at the idea that
Starting point is 00:10:01 some other football player threatened his life. But like, I just, I think my favorite thing here is that ESPN is like, we feel like this is worthy of a headline. ESPN's like, we're worthy. We think this story is worthy of a guy talking some shit on a football said that he's going to kill somebody. And we're going to make this a headline. And that the headline says, Jaguars Cohen says, Cook, alleged threat is normal trash talk.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Alleged threat. I'm tickled by this The story, it fascinates me as all I enjoy it very much Trying to think, is there any other I mean, look, I've said a lot of shit That was, I mean, I've said a lot of shit That was a joke or was meant to be obviously not literal
Starting point is 00:10:45 That people take literal and you're like And you hear it a lot more now Like because people on social media and everything Just want to be outraged So they take Well, there was one What interview was it? Was it a Jim Rome interview before? Like, and it's like a, it's a mechanism you use like to deflect or something.
Starting point is 00:11:06 It's like, hey, did you kill your wife or like, did you still kill your wife or whatever it is? I forgot exactly what it was. It was a Jim Rome story where Rome was interviewing someone and like, or do you still beat your wife or whatever? And it's not like you literally mean he beats his wife. It is a figure of speech and it was a whole deal. But that's just, again, how people are. People are morons. I don't know what to tell you, kids.
Starting point is 00:11:27 People are stupid. More to come.
