Well, this feels like it's going to be compelling.
Story reads,
Journey, honors a movement.
Let me see, let me get the actual headline here.
Hold on.
Headline reads, Journey honors a movement.
Keyboardish Jonathan Kane wrote a song for right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Oh, boy, what could go wrong there?
Let's hear this song.
We'll do that after these words.
Boy, how great would it be if, you know,
journeys out there touring with Def Leopard or something and like right in the middle of doing any way you wanted and don't stop believing. It's like, hey, here's our latest. It's a song about the right wing activist Charlie Kirk. I'm sure all of you will really enjoy this very much. Let's see here. Let me play some of this. Boy, I feel like I should play this on the radio today and just like get the reactions of people. Like I know my boss doesn't want me to do political shit. But like I want to play songs like this and get the reactions from people because I need reactions from people.
Like, no one calls, no one texts.
It's depressing.
But it'd be exciting.
Like, if I played this song and then you'd get a combo of people, like one group of people saying,
this is awful, and they'd be saying, it's great.
It's all because of just who the song is about.
They would not care at all about what the song sounds like.
Kane is a devout, I did not know this, but Kane is a devout born-again Christian
whose minister-wife, Paula White, Kane, served as President Trump's spiritual advisor
and delivered him the invocation at his first inauguration.
I did not know that.
Let's play some of this song and see what it.
it sounds like about Charlie Cain.
We as Christians are called to go into the public arena.
Oh, and we get like little clips at the beginning.
And already, just the first like five seconds of this sounds just like a journey song.
Correct error with truth.
So I go to college campuses and there's a lot of error.
We're all sinners.
We are all living error.
I'm far more interested in what God wants of me than what I want from God.
to face the enemy and overcome it all again i've got one thing here i didn't even know who this guy was
until he got shot again maybe that's on me maybe i should have i had heard of the guy
knew nothing about him but i honestly didn't know a ton about this guy now journey is
performing songs about him make the word of god come to life it's like
Journey meets Michael W. Smith.
Meet Striper.
We find peace
when there's no hope in sight.
Faith comes from hearing
eternally proclaiming
he is the way
the truth of light
I feelin those not believing
saving souls who are receiving
It's resurrection
The finish works of Christ
I feel like we're kind of overreacting a little bit
To who this guy was
Like you're basically making it sound like this guy was Jesus
No one else
Reached Generations
Could heal with truth and conversation
Setting all differences aside
I wonder if this guy is aware
That there were also a lot of people that hated this person
Just to throw, again, I have nothing for or against this human
Because I didn't know who this person was
Or what his messaging was
Until he died and I started hearing about him
And watch people fight over him
But I feel like this person is basically singing about Jesus
no one else good question hey turn hearts and minds with true debate from the battle
our nation will arise
faithful servant you've done well no one else
and then there's like the little journey like licks in the middle of it
Like it sounds like a little lick in there in the middle
Like now all of a sudden it's you know
You know who's crying now
You get a little bit of that lick in there in the middle
You're like, here's a song about a man
Who's basically Jesus
Yeah
Bair-near-Neer-Neer-Neer-N-Eer-N-Ear-W.
And like it goes from being like Michael W. Smith
To like a little touch of journey.
It determines destiny
Time and treasures
You gave unselfishly
Again, like
This sounds like it's a song about Mother Teresa
And not some like
Divisive political person
Now I know, like maybe this guy wasn't intending to be divisive
And maybe he was truly the most sincere,
Nicest human on the planet
But whether or not you believe that, the reality is there's about 50% of the country that also thinks this guy was a racist lunatic.
The way this song is being performed, you would think this person, like when Princess Diana died and we didn't have social media.
So like basically the whole world thought Princess Diana was the greatest human ever.
And Elton John's out there like, goodbye, England rose.
And you're like, yeah.
Princess Diana, greatest human ever.
Like, it's not like that.
This isn't that scenario here.
Whether it should or shouldn't be as, you can debate that.
But the reality is, this is not a situation like that.
Stood anointed to guide God's kingdom strong.
Like, I really hope Journey does this in concert.
Like, do you think that old Jonathan came from Journey when he meets with the band before they go out on tour?
Like, they're going to tour again next year.
And apparently they're going to sing like deeper tracks and play longer.
Like, cool.
That's what people want from Journey.
but like do you think that like he meets the band and he's like all right guys i know that we planned
on doing a lot you know a little any way you want it a little who's crying now a little uh love
and touch and squeezing but i was wondering if maybe we could squeeze in my six-minute song about
charlie k a kirk you guys in on that or no
Also, I like the
Also, I like the intimation here, because this song is called No One Else.
That intimates that there was no other human on the planet
that was capable of delivering the messaging that this guy delivered.
So basically, this guy was a saint.
Now, Kane tells Strange report, I wanted to honor Charlie's movement.
I wanted to contribute to what I believe he stood for, and that was righteousness, truth, and the gospel.
And without being a pastor, I had to stop and think.
Not since Billy Graham has anyone rocked the world like Charlie when it comes to the pure amount of how many schools he went to and how ferocious and fearless he was.
So now our old buddy here was Billy Graham.
Also, this song has three more fucking minutes.
Is uncertain
The spiritual battles you survive
Let God's congregation
Do you think he went to
Like Steve Perry before this?
I get Steve Perry's not a journey
But do you think he went to Steve Perry before this
And was like, hey listen man
I was wondering if you could sing this song for me
Like I mean, put your
Your put your special Steve Perry touch
Like it wouldn't be something that this song
just would have started with
Should have been gone
Knowing how I made you feel
We need an appreciation
With faith and purpose
You have blessed us through the ears
Sing in exultation
We need an appreciation
We need an appreciation song
For what he did said Cain
And when they described him as irreplaceable
The song I was writing, which was entitled No One Else,
No one else could wear the mantle.
The calling on his life was so strong.
God used him in such a powerful, powerful way
in so many layers of different discussions
that young people finally got the chance to discuss.
There was a one-sided thing,
and he saw how one-sided it was,
and I admired his courage.
I need a liberal Jimmy Kimmel response song
No one else
Regenerations
Could heal with truth and conversation
Setting all differences aside
I also like that this
So I read the show prep websites that are used by radio
people, right? And that's why I found this. It's like the top story on there. And I know that if I
play this, my boss will probably get mad at me and they'll be like, you know, we shouldn't do
political stuff. I'm like, then stop telling the show prep motherfuckers to put it in the
fucking shit. I would have never seen it otherwise. What would have been like the liberal
version of this? Like who would like what like low end has been a type artist would perform a
liberal reaction song to this? Trying to think of someone super. I'm trying to think of someone super
duper liberal type like the dude who was the singer in red jumpsuit apparatus who said that he didn't
want trump people going to his show remember that story from a couple months ago the lead singer
of red jumpsuit apparatus the band responsible for face down that gentleman said that he didn't
want right wing people coming to his show maybe his response song could be about jimmy kimmel like
no one else too and it's all about how no one else could be a hero like jimmy kimmel i want the i want
I want a return track. That's what I'm looking for here. I want a follow-up to this. I want a
response track about how big of a hero Jimmy Kimmel is. Do it, Guy from Red Jump Suit Apparatus.
