Starting point is 00:00:00 Peramount Wolfe Check out the big stars, big series, and blockbuster movies. Streaming on Paramount Plus. Cue the music. Like NCIS, Tony, and Ziva. We'd like to make up for own rules. Tulsa King. We want to take out the competition.
Starting point is 00:00:16 The substance. This balance is not working. And the naked gun. That was awesome. Now that's a mountain of entertainment. I love stories about dipshits getting scammed by celebrities on the internet. Why? Because there's no excuse to ever get scammed by quote-unquote celebrities on the internet.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I can understand where you get a robocall from your bank and you think that it's a real thing and you think that people have taken your money. Like, I don't get scammed by those either. But I can see where that would happen. I can see where you'd believe that, that you get a call and everything looks legit and the phone number looks legit and it turns out to be a scam. I respect that that happens. What I cannot respect is that a dipshit gets scammed by a fake celebrity.
Starting point is 00:01:05 I cannot do that. I cannot wrap my head around it. It is arrogance. Errogance alone will get you scammed by a fake celebrity. It will also get you scammed by hot fake people on the internet as well. You have to think very highly of yourself if you think that some celebrity DMs you and wants to fuck you. You are an arrogant asshole. But that said, people are getting scammed by fake.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Elon Musk now, which is really impressive. Let's talk about that after these words. All right. Let's see what we got cooking here. Headline reads, this is from Gizmodo. If you can read this, you're about to get scammed. Scammers are pretending to be Elon Musk. They're stealing, they're stealing millions from hardworking people.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Yes, but you can only get your hardworking million stolen. stolen. Jesus Christ, where's my brain? I need to sleep more than two hours a day. They're getting their money stolen because they're dipshits. Did you find this article by typing the name of a website associated with Elon Musk? Did it sound like you could invest in SpaceX Neurrelink or one of Musk's AI ventures like GROC or XAI? It's fake. It's 100% without a doubt completely fake. I know you may not believe it, but please read on because this article could save you from losing a lot of money. Elon Musk is a very wealthy man. He's worth $500 billion, according to Forbes, making him the wealthiest person on the planet. But Musk does not have a website
Starting point is 00:02:38 dedicating to making other people rich. You may have seen an ad on Facebook or maybe a video on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. It may have even looked like Elon Musk was talking about something amazing for you to invest in. Maybe it looked like Elon was raising money for a sick child. You may have even been asked to send money through gift cards or a Bitcoin ATM, but it was fake. You need to believe us because it's true. Here's the thing. If someone is known to be worth $500 billion and is the wealthiest person on the planet, why at any point would you feel that that person needs you to send a gift card or Bitcoin ATM to him?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Let's just stop and think about that for a second. You're John Q Public, you're Stephen Nobody, you have a 9 to 5 job, but you believe in Elon Musk, and you see that Elon Musk, again, you know that he's worth. You don't know how much he's worth, who knows, but you know it's worth a lot because you've heard of Elon Musk. You get a message, and it says, hey, Elon Musk's need you to donate Amazon gift cards. and your first thought is, okay, you're a dipshit. Bless your heart, you're a dipshit. Because you've got to know if a guy is worth $500 billion, if he wanted to get people gift cards, he could probably just buy people fucking gift cards.
Starting point is 00:04:04 He doesn't need your money. Musk does not have a website selling cryptocurrencies. He doesn't have a website for trading stocks. He doesn't have a public website selling shares of his private companies like SpaceX, or like and all that. He never did. Did someone reach out to you on social media like Facebook or Instagram claiming to be Elon? Did they tell you to talk with them over signal or telegram or WhatsApp? That person is a scammer.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Elon Musk does not reach out to people on websites and then ask them for money. And if they haven't already asked you to send money, that part is coming. Well, no shit. Why is this story necessary? Again, you might be skeptical. A lot of people want to believe that Elon Musk is offering ways for the average person to become rich. but he's not. Among other reasons, he doesn't have the time. Here at Gizmodo, we've written about scammers impersonating Elon Musk for years.
Starting point is 00:04:53 There was a woman in Washington who lost $63,000 because she thought she was talking to Elon Musk. There was a man in North Carolina who drained his 401k over half a million dollars. There was the person who lost over 18,000 watching a video live stream they thought was for Tesla. There was also the Florida principal who sent Elon Musk scammer a check for $100,000. What fucking principal even has $100,000 to send to fake Elon Musk? People have literally been losing millions of dollars to scammers over the years because they thought they were investing in something approved by Elon, but it was all fake. Scam AI videos. It's incredible what can be accomplished with AI these days. You can make people appear to say things they never said. For example, here's an ad spotted below. Elon never said any of this. No fucking shit. just don't send your money to people
Starting point is 00:05:44 this shouldn't be that difficult stop sending your money to Elon Musk he's worth $500 billion in the same way like don't send money to some fake celebrity they don't want to fuck you I mean what are we doing people there's a whole list of fake scam sites there are also scams that you may know by various names
Starting point is 00:06:10 that aren't dedicated websites, like Elon Musk fan page membership cards or Elon Musk and Donald Trump crypto giveaways or space stock miner or Tesla Bitcoin, Tesla token, Tesla mining. Back to the principal. If you're a principal of a school and you get scammed out of $100,000 because you think you're sending money to Elon Musk, like, you should not be an educator. You should not be around children. Like I would prefer Michael Jackson be around children than you'd be. around children. You are a dumb human.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Maybe someone sent you this article. Maybe you found it through Google. Please know that visiting these websites and investing in them will only lead you to heartache and pain. The people who've been scammed at these sites often feel foolish afterwards, and we don't want you to feel foolish. We want you to avoid just handing your money away for nothing. If you're interested in investing, there are plenty of reputable places to do that. You can even invest in Musk's company Tesla if you want to buy stock in that company. through a reputable stockbroker. All investing involves risk, but the websites we featured here aren't just risks that you might want to put your money and lose some money.
Starting point is 00:07:19 If you have any of these websites, if you give these websites any of your money, you will only lose, we promise you. Thank you, Gizmodo. Appreciate that firm breakdown. The fact that someone lost half a million dollars, let me see this story. This was a cryptocurrency person. that thought they were giving their money. They gave over half a million dollars to cryptocurrencies. There was the person who lost 18,000 watching a video live stream they thought was for Tesla.
Starting point is 00:07:53 I need to hear about this principle. A principal who sent a scammer a check for $100,000. Florida principal scammed into sending $100,000 check to Elon Musk impersonator. A Florida principal resigned on Tuesday after since then. sending $100,000 to an internet scammer posing as Elon Musk. Jan McGee was the principal at the Burns Science and Technology Charter School in Oak Hill. Oh, you were to charter school? Yeah, get your ass out of Dodge.
Starting point is 00:08:22 And she had been there since it opened in 2011 and reportedly communicated with the scammer for months before sending the check from the school's account. This woman sent $100,000 of the school's money to a fake Elon Musk. These people are educators. They are dumb people. McGee said she believed the $100,000 would act as a down payment and in return the billionaire reportedly promised that he would invest millions of dollars in the school. Yep, that was it. Hey, send me $100,000 so I can invest money in your school.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Yeah, that just sounds totally logical. The school's business administrator noticed the payment and was able to cancel the check before it could be cashed. McGee announced she was resigning after a school board meeting when her fellow administrators said they refused to work under her. Yes, because she's a fucking moron. Like, there's no way that person should be a principal. Think about how dumb that sounds. Like, look, I need you to send $100,000 to me as a down payment. And in return, I will invest millions of dollars in the school.
Starting point is 00:09:26 So the guy has millions of dollars to invest in your school, but he needs your $100,000. Makes no sense. These people are morons. It is wild. It is truly baffling how dumb people can be. It's just like the internet that you have to pass a test to be on the internet. We have to get to a point. It's kind of like, and I don't know if this happens at your place of business.
Starting point is 00:09:51 But it happened to me a lot. Not necessarily at eye heart, but it does happen here. And it's happened at some other places where they send you the fishing emails. And like, you'll get an email. And it's like, hey, such and such. And the link is in this email. And it seems legit. And then like 10 minutes later, there'll be a follow.
Starting point is 00:10:07 up email that says, did you take the bait? Like, no, I didn't take the bait. I refuse to click anything in anything you send me. I will never click a link in any email that has sent to me at work because now I'm programmed to believe that every email you're sending me is a fishing email and you're trying to catch me clicking it so you can make an example of me and I'm not going to let that happen because that's not how Josh Ennis rolls. I'm not going to be made an example of by a bunch of putses trying to show people that I'm the dipshit that fell for the fishing scam. I will not be fished. You got that?
Starting point is 00:10:38 I will not be terrorized by your bullshit. No fishing will happen here, pal. Yet, there are still tons of people who fall for this shit. Tons of people who continue to just be morons. Like, I don't, like, old people I at least sort of understand it because they're dipshits and don't understand how the world works anymore. The world's passed them by. So when Neil Diamond slides into their DMs, they're like, oh dear, I'm talking to Neil Diamond.
Starting point is 00:11:05 let me send him my 401k. Even though in his bio it says Neil will never ask you for money, unless you know you're surely, then I guess he will. Because you could go read that and you're still convinced that it's Neil Diamond asking you for money. Neil Diamond who's written tons of hit songs and has millions of dollars in the bank. But Neil Diamond needs your $30,000. Yep, that's it. Neil Diamond needs your Amazon gift cards.
Starting point is 00:11:32 That's it. It's remarkable. how dumb people are. And arrogant. As I told you, there's an arrogance that goes along with believing that celebrities are sending new messages. Like there was one we talked about yesterday where the people from the Hallmark Channel had to put out a video for the season letting everyone know that none of them are going
Starting point is 00:11:51 to send DMs and they will not ask for money and they do not want to be in a relationship. One of those people that said this was one of the sisters from sister's sister, one of the twins, Tamara Maori or one of them. that means that sister sister has like someone has received a DM from sister sister and has sent them money think about that if i'm going to send somebody from a 1990s tv show like that money it's in urkel to cash but i'm not sending sister sister that cash i'd send that hot ass dana from step by step some cash but i'm not sending sister sister some fucking cash i'm sending blossom cash i can do this all day. I will send
Starting point is 00:12:34 six from Blossom cash but I will not send sister sister cash. I would send Eddie Winslow cash. By the way, I heard that Eddie Winslow got arrested for something. I forgot what it was for, some sort of issue. I don't know if it was like a theft, some sort of theft.
Starting point is 00:12:55 What happened, Eddie Winslow? Did you get arrested? I'm fairly certainly did. I think I read that somewhere. Anyway. don't get scammed people don't be dipshits don't be arrogant and narcissists who think that somebody from the hallmark channel is in love with them they don't know who you are more to come
