man I don't know it's cathartic we're just having a talk here so I don't know and like and the hard part is like I tell myself like Josh like you have to make make something of this you have to turn this into something you have to make yourself valuable if you make yourself valuable you write your ticket anywhere you want to go they need to see you as valuable they did see me as valuable when I was in Nashville right now I'm not and I know I'm not I've got to make myself important. I have to make myself valuable. I have to create a world where people want what I have to offer. Period. Like there's a guy, and this is not to slight anybody like this, but like there's a guy Woody. And he used to be on in St. Louis.

Got hired by I-Heart, and he's on a billion radio stations now in the rock format. Look, he does a fine job. I have nothing against him. Nothing on a personal level. Good dudes seemingly. I've never actually met him. Like, I've heard that he's a nice guy, all this shit. So, cool.

I don't hate the guy. I'm not against the guy. But I see that he's on all these radio stations. I'm like, I can fucking do that. Like, that's my goal. My aspiration in iHeart media is to get to that level where, hey, there's Josh Ennis. He's important. He's on 10 different fucking radio stations doing his show and people view him as someone who's valuable.

And then I tell myself, Josh, it starts right here. You have to find success in Detroit. Period. End of story. There is no other option. If you don't succeed here, then you will continue to fail and flounder and be miserable. You have to succeed.

You know, and like I don't want to, like, I'm not here to fake shit, but I will throw this offer out to you guys. Ultimately, the radio station's basically been autopilot in the morning for three years ever since I left. So there's people, they don't call the radio station. That doesn't exist. sound big. Because the more you guys get involved, the more the people who are listening to the show and they hear people interacting, they fucking get involved. That's what I fucking need. Because I appreciate that you listen to the pod and the pod does well and it makes me a couple bucks and I appreciate that. And I hope it makes me more bucks than this next year. And I hope I put, I hope more good shit comes out of this. I do. That said, I fucking need you. I need you to help that show. because we've been through this thing together. We've ridden the wave.

We've been at the highs of the highs. We've been at the fucking lows of the lows. So, I need you. By the way, the radio show is pretty fucking good. Listen to the radio show. Call. Interact. I don't give a shit even if it's not about what we're talking about.

Interact. Because when people hear you guys interacting with the show, they're going to call and they're going to interact. I have to have that. Part of the reason why I feel like I'm floundering mentally a lot of the time is there's no interaction with people. You sit in this very sterile radio studio. That's what these studios are now.

They're sterile. It used to be wacky, hijinks. Like our studio in Nashville was an old dump, but it was our old dump, and we had shit everywhere, and it was kind of a fun vibe because it was old and dumpy. Everything else is homogenized and sterile. That's what we're dealing with right now is sterile radio studios, nothing on the walls. nothing that signifies that this is your studio it's a shared space you get off there you move on so you sit in this this kind of sterile box and you're just kind of like okay like you don't know

what's going on in the world you're not getting a ton of text messages from people the phone lines aren't fucking ringing unless you're giving away doobie brothers tickets i need to know there are people out there i think that's been the biggest downfall for me and the biggest thing i've struggled with is they're there, but when you don't see them or hear them, it gets very easy to sit here and be in a world where you think they don't exist. And that's when I get into those dark modes where I'm just fucking angry. And I'm mad. And that's why I let myself go off the fucking rails. And that's why I just let myself blow shit up because I'm pissed off and I'm upset and no one's interacting or whatever. That's why I fucking need you guys. So write this number down.
