First off, some dudes got kicked out of a WNBA game. I wonder what they did... I'm gonna guess just being a white male gets you on a list at WNBA games. A nice lady on QVC made an all time slip up. ... Speaking of QVC, do you remember when they'd do the NFL Shop on Mondays?

Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, I haven't read this story yet. All I've seen is the headline. And it says two fans escorted from seats in Aces game. So that's the WNBA. So two fans, were these dudes, are they ladies? I don't know. I have not read this story. But you have my attention because you know how we feel.
Starting point is 00:00:17 The WNBA is a giant cluster fuck. And it's always fun. I enjoy nothing about the action in the WNBA, but I enjoy everything about the drama of the WNBA because it is a mess. So let's see what these two gentlemen got escorted for. We'll do that after maybe some messages. But let's be real, that was probably just dead air. All right, let's read this story from Espin.com.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Two fans escorted from seats and ACE's overtime win against the fever. In Indianapolis, which by the way, like Indianapolis is probably the worst WNBA town because it's mostly white people and the white people are, look, white men at WNBA games, you're already a bad person. Two men were escorted from their court-side seats in Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the third quarter of the Las Vegas Aces Indiana Fever Matchup Thursday. The incident began after Las Vegas Guard Jackie Young inbounded the basketball in motion toward fans sitting courtside and spoke to a referee. The game was stopped for several minutes with four minutes and 38 seconds left in the quarter and security escorted a woman who was sitting in the front road directly across from the Aces bench through a tunnel. A few minutes later, she was assisted back to her seat, and two men who were seated near her were taken out.
Starting point is 00:01:35 He was just chirping all game, Young told the reporters after the game. I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far. Young declined to share specifics of what the fan said to her. I think we'll just keep it in here, which means he probably didn't say anything. She's just a sensitive person that got all angry and yelled at some people. Following a report of a comment directed towards a player, Arena security spoke with the fan involved in witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the fan code of conduct.
Starting point is 00:02:06 The fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed. Regardless of the outcome, Young was happy with how it was handled. They did the right thing, she said. Obviously, we don't want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we're human too, so let's just show up to games, have fun, and not take it too far. I want to know what this guy said that took it too far.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Look, these guys are paying for these seats and they say dumb shit. The problem is, and we say this about the WNBA all the time. The WNBA wants to be the big leagues and the WNBA wants to be treated like a real league, yet the WNBA also kind of wants to have it both ways. Now, guys have gotten kicked out NBA games too. Like Russell Westbrook has two or three guys kicked out a year. But like, what are you doing fighting with some dumb dudes at a basketball game? It kind of just shows the point that we're making about the WNBA, which is they're not equipped to handle the kind of attention they're getting.
Starting point is 00:03:02 They are Brooks, right? Like, I think that's fair. They are Brooks. And when I say they are Brooks, what do I mean? What I mean by that is that they are not equipped to handle the attention and the exposure that they are now getting. They're used to just playing in this little sandbox that no one's paying attention to, and now people are in the arenas and people are doing shit they do at normal sporting events. And according to this, the guy didn't violate the code of conduct and didn't get kicked
Starting point is 00:03:30 out of the game. So I'd like to know what he said. But the WNBA ladies, like this thing's going to implode. It's already imploding. And no one's going to care. It's going to go away. Like I love all these cities that are like in three years are going to have WNBA teams. Like Detroit's got a WNBA team coming in a couple years.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Is Houston getting one too? And like all these cities, they're going to expand and oh boy, the WNBA is growing. By the time these cities actually get these teams, the least. league's going to be dead because nobody gives a shit. But to more fun things, here's a lady with a slip of the tongue on QVC. I love to show the texture and this wave pattern. Again, it looks like you went and got a blow job
Starting point is 00:04:12 at your blowout, at your salon. Oh my God. And it looks beautiful. All right, so here's what's happening today. We're having a huge beauty sale. Everything ships to you for free, but that goes away at the end of the day. I will remind you that this is a one-time only price where the price goes up at the end of the show. There you go.
Starting point is 00:04:37 So this lady said she was talking about some sort of hair thing, and she says, it makes it look like you just got a blowout, but she actually said blowjob. I love to show the texture and this wave pattern. Again, it looks like you went and got a blow job at your blowout. I crank it Yeah QVC's fun I think and this chick had like the most
Starting point is 00:05:03 Karen haircut ever Bless her heart Remember when QVC used to have like on Monday nights It was either QVC or home shopping network I think it was QVC though On Monday nights there was that dude with the glasses Who did like the NFL shop for an hour Before Monday night football
Starting point is 00:05:19 And you'd watch and it's all this shit that you know Your parents were never going to buy you And it was so depressing Because this shit was so great like it'd be like hey here's the new team issued starter jackets for 1099 let me see if I can find a picture of that guy let's see if I'm the only person who's thought about this who was the guy who hosted the NFL shop on QVC in the 90s no one's going to know this I got to ask gypsy maybe gypsy you'll know let's see Mike Roe QVC host in the 90s the guy you're remembering from the NFL shop in the 90s Mike Roe did that No way. No way. There's no way that's the case. Hold on. Now I got to go to damn YouTube. Hold on. Mike Roe didn't sell the NFL shop shit on QVC. That is not true. That'd be something, though. All right, let's see. 1990s QVC NFL shop. Let's see. 1994 QVC NFL team shop commercial but I need to see the guy selling the shit
Starting point is 00:06:22 God that used to be my favorite thing oh there's the guy oh no that's the computer shop that's the wrong guy but like on Mondays is that the guy are you the guy god they still do this huh boy dude Monday nights were lit so on Monday nights you knew that Monday night football was going to be coming on and like right before Monday night football QVC had that dude in the glasses and he'd be like hawking all of these cool things that you know you couldn't afford because you live with your mom and your fucking grandma. You don't even have enough money for cable, but you have QVC and you know you're never going to get these cool starter jackets and hats and everything else.
Starting point is 00:06:54 But it was the greatest. It's like when you'd look at the East Bay catalog. Anybody else used to, I mean, we all did when we were younger, right? Like kids of the early 2000s, that was like our Bible, the East Bay catalog. And you're like, there's some Jordans. There's some other shoes I want. I want those shoes. I want those shorts.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I want all of it. This is from nine years ago. No, no, that's a lady. That's not the, I'm not looking for you. I need 1990s QVC. God, and it was great. They'd be like, hey, do you want these sweatshirts? God damn right, I want these sweatshirts.
Starting point is 00:07:23 They were great. Are you the guy? No, you're not the guy. That's depressing. I was hoping to find it. But there's nothing to see here, kids. Just a dummy looking for old QVC videos to watch. But, God, that was living.
Starting point is 00:07:38 We didn't have cable, you know, when I was a kid, at least early on when I lived with my mom and my grandma. And so all we had was the options that were on regular TV, you know, like, commoners. So we had, you know, the basic cable channel, and not even basic cable, we didn't have cable. So all we had was just the basic over-the-air TV channels. And like, and I know now we're doing like a kids today type thing here. The kids today will never fully understand what it was like knowing that you were being held hostage by whatever was on TV. There wasn't like, well, there's no game on, so let me go to YouTube and start watching like 1987 Huey Lewis and the
Starting point is 00:08:15 news concert videos. Like you couldn't do that in 1994. All you did was sat around and like you had to learn to like the shows that were on TV because you had no other fucking choice. The amount of grace under fire I watched, I didn't even like that shitty show, but I had to watch Grace Under Fire and Drew Carey because it was the only shit that was on TV. But I think that builds character. And I think that's why a lot of these kids today lack character. They lack character. because they didn't have to sit around and be forced to watch whatever was on TV. I really think I am the man I am today because of that little stretch I live with my grandma and my mom and my sister and my grandpa and we had no cable.
Starting point is 00:08:54 You don't know what it's like to have to watch the nanny. There are no other options. You had three channels. And if the nanny was on, you're watching the fucking nanny. That's why it shocked me that there were ever shows that had bad ratings. Like if there's only three channels, like in 1972, How did they determine which shows got canceled if there were only three channels? I mean, I mean, if you get smoked, I guess.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Like if you know, you're up against gun smoke or something and they've got like a 900 share and you've got like five viewers, I guess. But like how could you not like imagine now with how people are, you know, consuming products and consuming television and everything else. Imagine it's 1972. And a bad rating for a show would have been like 20 million people. They're like, yeah, sorry, we got to cancel the show. Why? Well, we only have 20 million viewers. Gunsmokes got 80, you know?
Starting point is 00:09:45 I'm intrigued by that. I know I'm kind of all over the place on this one, but let me see. Show me TV ratings for fall of 1974. There's a random year. All in the family was number one. But you've got to show me, you know, by viewers. Like I need to know by number of viewers. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:10:12 I need to know how many people were watching these episodes of these shows. Okay. So all in the family's estimated audience was 20 million people. They were number one. The bottom show in the top 30, that's all they have ranked. 13 million people were watching emergency. That was number 30. There is not a show on television right now that has 13 million viewers.
Starting point is 00:10:35 But back then you're like, shit, we're number 30. We suck. We only have 13 million people. Apparently, you know, all in the family had 20 and so did Sanford and son. And Chico and the man. How about that? But what a time it was.
Starting point is 00:10:50 But imagine that you walk in. They're like, guys, you're canceled. But we have 30 million viewers. And tough, you know. Now, you know, if they, these shows probably don't have 30 million people over the life of the show. I understand.
Starting point is 00:11:03 I was just all over the place there, and I apologize for that. You never know where you're going to go on this. Starts out talking about the WNB Before you know it, you're playing stuff about QVC blowjobs, and then it just goes off the rails. I love to show the texture and this wave pattern. Again, it looks like you went and got a blowjob at your blowout at your salon. I think the best part is she's petrified, she's horrified, she's mortified that she did this.
Starting point is 00:11:34 And then she's laughing. And at one point she turns around so people don't see her laughing. and the person next to her tries not to laugh. And it looks beautiful. All right, so here's what's happening today. We're having a huge beauty sale. Everything ships to you for free, but that goes away at the end of the day. I will remind you that this is a one-time only price where the price goes up at the end of the show.
Starting point is 00:12:01 There you go. The audio I can never find that depresses me that I can't find it is the Mike Shannon glass-blowing audio that we used to play at 790, where Mike Shannon from the Cardinals is talking about glass blowing and he comes back from a commercial, from the commercials going back into the action, starts doing a read. And he goes, well, let me tell you about a blow job. Everybody's like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:12:26 And he's talking about glass blowing. But it doesn't exist. It's not out there in the world anymore. That's depressing. Out of all the dumb shit that I still have, I don't have that. And it makes me sad. All right, more to come.
