The Josh Innes Show - Random Thoughts:: Grant Wahl Coverage Hypocrisy
Episode Date: December 12, 2022Grant Wahl is a soccer reporter and he died at the World Cup. Honestly, I don't know much about him other than that. Well, the media people on Twitter determined that Wahl was murdered by the Qatar go...vernment. There is no evidence to support this. But, since they are the mainstream media, they are allowed to speculate and pontificate. Of course, they are the same people quitting Twitter over "misinformation". Learn more about your ad choices. You know, I'm fascinated by what people consider to be fake news and misinformation versus
what isn't or what is factual. And I bring this up because this fella Grant Wall died covering
the World Cup and almost instantly the people on social media who are so against the blue check
marks going to anybody who buys them.
They're so against people not getting banned for misinformation.
They're so against conspiracy theorists.
These people, liberals, if we're being honest, that's who they are, are very into the conspiracy
theories and the misinformation about Grant Wall.
And since they are liberal,
they are allowed to have that viewpoint, right? They are allowed, like liberals are allowed to
speculate. Liberals are allowed to pontificate. Liberals are allowed to spread misinformation.
Liberals are allowed to be tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists online, but nobody else can.
Like, I'm not a liberal, right?
I'm just some random jamoke. If I were to go online and throw out some sort of bizarre conspiracy theory or speculate
about something, I would be considered dangerous and I'd be labeled misinformation.
But because the liberal people and the media people have convinced themselves that Grant Wall
had to have been killed by Qatar government people it's okay for them to go with it they
determine what is factual and what is conjecture that's how the liberal people work that's how the
media work and I'm not trying to rush limbaugh you here I know the last couple of things I've done
have been kind of well the liberals think this but it's just reality. The reality of the situation is, the Brittany
Greiner thing is, liberal people care about Brittany Greiner because they hate Republican
people and Republican people think she's a stooge. Therefore, liberal people care about
Brittany Greiner and she's a lesbian and she's black and she plays WNBA, so they all give a
shit about it because the right-wing people say fuck her, right?
That's the reality.
But this Grant Wall story, which there are some fascinating layers to it,
but really is there anything nefarious in this guy's death?
Like, here's how this played out.
This guy died.
This Grant Wall died covering the World Cup.
Okay, fine, he died.
His brother rushed to social media. His brother,
who happens to be gay, rushes to social media to let you know that his brother didn't just die.
His brother was totally healthy and had nothing wrong with him. His brother was obviously killed
for supporting gay rights. If you don't know the story, the guy was wearing a rainbow flag t-shirt
with a soccer ball trying to get into the soccer game.
And the government people detained him or whatever, security people detained him because he was wearing this shirt and he posts about it, blah, blah, blah.
And it became, you know, he's a big gay rights hero.
Fine, I don't give a shit.
I love gay people.
What do I care?
But that's all well and good.
I'm very, you know, again, I just don't give a shit.
I'm very pro-gay.
That sounds odd to say.
I am very pro-gay. Come blow me. But point being in all of this is this.

That it became because his brother went to social media and said he was obviously killed because he supports gays.
The people just ran with that.
It's like their liberal buzzer went off and they said, wait a second, what?
We got a guy in soccer, which most people don't care about.
So a guy covering soccer, supporting gays, killed by the government in another country, or somehow murdered by them.
This is huge.
My liberal dar just went off, and I am excited about this.
Let's run with it.
And there was no questioning.
There was no, hey, how did this guy die?
Maybe he just had something, an underlying cause.
Maybe he had the ronin.
None of this.
It automatically became online on Twitter, this guy was murdered because he supports gay people in Qatar.
That's all it was.
And that was because his brother rushed to social media and was completely irrational and started throwing out all these conspiracy theories and weird loony fucking ideas about how his brother died.
And the liberal media people on social media just fucking went bananas over it.
They're like, yep, that's it.
This is obviously what happened.
This man did not die of natural causes.
This man was murdered.
And when they detained him, they poisoned him.
Or when he's sick and went to the doctor and he thought he had bronchitis,
they did something to him while he was at the doctor.
This man was murdered by Qatar because he was outspoken
against how they handle things at Qatar, and he was very pro-gay and he wore a rainbow t-shirt.
And he has been murdered and anybody else who disagrees with this is a fucking fuck.
So it's just fascinating how that works out.
The way it works is you are allowed to throw out misinformation.
There's no fact in that, by the way.
There is zero fact.
That is misinformation.
You are speculating.
So the same
people who are the loudest
opponents of fake
news and spreading misinformation.
That's why Elton John is
leaving Twitter. I'm leaving Twitter
because of misinformation. I cannot
handle a world where you're allowed to spread fake
bullshit out here. I cannot do it. I am
leaving this Twitter. This Twitter is toxic and poison and I will not deal with this. I want to live in a world where you're allowed to spread fake bullshit out here. I cannot do it. I am leaving this Twitter. This Twitter is toxic and poison and I will not deal with this.
I want to live in a world where we fact check things first. And then the same people who are
in that same boat as an Elton John, who are the people who are the loudest about needing facts,
are the ones who are out here speculating about this. There is no data to back up their facts.
There is no evidence to back up their facts.
Or not their facts, their claims.
There is nothing to back that up.
Except a dude's brother posting a video on social media saying his brother died because he supports gay people.
And that I am gay and my brother supports gay people and he was murdered by these people. That's all you're going with is the irrational ranting of a guy whose brother just died.
And that's what you're running with.
There's no, hey, let's just sit back and let's look at some of the evidence first.
Nope, this guy was totally healthy.
Totally healthy people don't just die.
So what could it be?
Fun fact, totally healthy people die pretty frequently.
How often do you hear about a guy that rode his bike every day and wore his little Lycra shorts and his helmet and ate healthy and he was vegetarian, whatever, rode his bike, and then one day on his bike just keeled over out of a heart attack?
It does happen.
Now, could there be something that happened to this guy in Qatar?
Maybe.
I'm not saying it's impossible.
But these people just ran with it. And I find it funny because they're the first people that tell you, we don't like fake news.
We don't like lies.
We don't like misinformation.
So it's only misinformation if it's something they disagree with and it came from somebody that's not on their side.
Because if it's on their side, it doesn't matter if it's factual or not.
We can run with it.
That's okay. We can speculate and pontificate and wear our tinfoil hats and
think that this guy was killed by the Qatar folks because he likes gay people. We can think that.
And by the way, it is possible that happened because these people are lunatics over there.
It's not a safe place. But all that, and you're allowed to rush to social media and say,
yep, this is what happened, I know it.
Well, I don't think that should be allowed, right?
If you're not allowed to talk about Hunter Biden's laptop in the minds of these people, if you're not allowed to speculate about the Clintons,
if you're not allowed to speculate about Biden and whether or not he's cognitively there, whatever it may be,
if you're not allowed to do that, you shouldn't be allowed to rush to social media and play amateur detective and come out and determine right from the jump that this guy
was killed by government officials in Qatar. You shouldn't be allowed to do that, right? That is
not true. That is not factual. That is misinformation. So that should not be allowed.
It's fun when you catch these people and their bullshit, and there's so much of it.
There's just tons of bullshit that comes from these people. And they believe it,
which is fascinating, but they're just, they're wackos. The social media world is full of wackos.
And in this particular case, you've got a bunch of people who are just throwing out junk like
it's a true crime show with nothing to back it up. And that's totally fine with them. But it's not okay if you come out and say something about Hillary Clinton or say something about Biden or say something about Obama or whatever.
These people are lunatics.
They are full of shit.
And it's their sandbox.
That's the tough thing.
It's their sandbox.
They make the rules.
