Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, it's Wednesday night, and I'm sitting on the couch. Jilly and I are watching a combo of the VMAs and crappy baseball and Louisiana Storm coverage. And, oh, darn, the Cardinals took the lead, too. Anyway, look, I've turned on my team. I fucking hate them. I want them to lose every game. But there's a lot of stuff going on here um one uh the astros are about to screw my three leg locks parlay and i know that a lot of you listening in houston can't do sports betting
Starting point is 00:00:34 all that so i get that like you're like screw you josh talking about all this but the astros were part of a simple three leg like minus 200 three-leg parlay in there. I had three teams that were minus 200 or better apiece. The first two won relatively easily, Minnesota and the Guard Indians. All I need is the damn Astros to beat the lousy A's, who I get are playing better baseball lately, but still, you're at home, you're in a pennant drive, and you're going to blow another damn game to these guys and Altuve may be hurt, so I'm ticked off about that.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And then I'm on the internet as I'm watching the VMAs and other things, and I see Shannon Sharp has released a statement via his podcast about an incident that happened on his Instagram live. Now, if you folks do not know, because you don't follow Shannon Sharp or care about such things, Shannon Sharp essentially was banging some chick on Instagram live. There's no basically he was. Now, you couldn't see it, but it was one of those situations where, you know, the phone is, you know, they got the phone and like, apparently it goes live. It's sitting on his nightstand. He's plowing some chick. At one point, the dude is literally like name, like a horse. He's like, it's like, like when you hear those, uh, like a horse he's like it's like like when you hear those uh like a horse sound effect in a
Starting point is 00:02:07 broncos game or something that's what he sounded like she's calling him papa he's clearly uh getting him a little taste of the peach like it's it's a it's a wild sexual encounter and he and this is for the world to consume everybody's consuming consuming this on Instagram. Then it was on Twitter and it's become a big story about Unc Shannon Sharp banging it out with some chick and giving it to her good. I mean, I'll give him this. She sounded rattled by it. He sounded like he jarred something loose. So I'll give him all the credit in the world. Not all of us have that kind of power. So good for you, Shannon Sharp. However, Shannon Sharp did talk about this. And he said, man, look at you.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Come on, ski up. I wish he would have done that, like in my mind like that. Jilly, come over here. You can engage in the Shannon Sharp banging conversation. But here's the thing. Like I'm sitting there and I'm watching his reaction to this. And I just watched it on Twitter. And essentially what my man said is he's never been on IG Live before, has no idea how it works, and he accidentally turned on his Instagram Live right before he started plowing some chick. Look, I don't know a ton about technology.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I'm not the most savvy, but I know that on Instagram Live, to go live on Instagram, it takes at least two, maybe three steps. It's not like, oops, I butt dialed. Like there's really no excuse for anything like butt dialing now with the way phones lock anyway, but it's not as simple as, oh, I butt dialed somebody. No, you have to open up Instagram.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Then you have to hit the plus button right there in the middle bottom. Then you have to tap live. Then once the live screen comes up, you can put in a caption or not. And then you have to hit the button to go live. And then it says three, two, one, checking connection. And now you're live. There is a, look, my man, and here's the reason why I think that this thing is a setup, right? Hold on. Wait, what is this? Oh, AB has weighed in.
Starting point is 00:04:14 So C-T-E-S-P-N has weighed in and said, Shannon Sharp looking at his phone, realizing he's on live, and that's a homeboy, that's Ving Rhames bent over. Now, there's a couple of. That's Ving Rhames bent over. Now, there's a couple of elements to this, all right? In the apology slash statement about banging on Instagram Live, Shannon makes it a point to say, man, skip this one stage, skip.
Starting point is 00:04:42 This one staged. And I'm like, why are you saying that like to me bringing up the fact that it wasn't staged to me is a sign that it was I 100% believe that Shannon Sharp staged that whole thing for whatever reason you might ask yourself Josh what is the reason why would Shannon Sharp do this now again it brings people to podcast. You're the hottest story in the world today. You're banging on social media and now everybody's tuned into your live. I guess he's live on YouTube or was, he might still be, but he was live on there at one point. And homeboy is telling you about how, man, everybody's locked in, man. I was just engaged in relations that people of a consenting age can engage in. Skip. That's all I was doing. Come on, Skip.
Starting point is 00:05:25 That's what I was doing, Skip. Man, this motherfucker was like, he was, she's calling him Papa in the video. He's like, daddy going to give it to you, girl. Like, he's all up in it. I am of the belief that the whole thing is a setup. 100% setup. Now, guy's obviously got a huge audience. I'm going to give him credit. I had never really listened to any of his interviews or listened to his podcast. Dude, when I was yesterday, I got down a YouTube rabbit hole, a wormhole, whatever,
Starting point is 00:05:58 and I'm seeing all of the Shannon Sharp Club Shay Shay interviews, and he's interviewing Marlon Wayans. I'm fascinated by it. Like, it's interesting shit. He gets cool people. They have interesting conversations. Like, his interviews are really fucking good, and they're interesting, and I like them, and I dig them. But any eyeballs and ears you can get on your product are still good.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And the whole world, like, the number one trend, I think, on social media, I don't know if it still is, but earlier, the number one trend is Shannon Sharp and Unk getting down so I think my man set the whole thing up I think it's staged and now there are conspiracy theorists that would say and this is not from Josh Ennis this is from the culture on the internet I'm not part of the culture. I'm just white dude, okay? I'm not part of the culture. But many comments in the culture from people in the culture on Black X, Black Twitter, whatever you want to call it, apparently there's a lot of people that accuse Shannon Sharp of being gay. Now, if Shannon Sharp is gay, I don't give a shit i've never looked at shannon sharp
Starting point is 00:07:05 and said i think he's gay but apparently a lot of people do so if you want to go conspiracy theory with it here and you want to think what incentive because you got to have an incentive there's got to be a benefit to you doing something like this hell who's even to say he was actually fucking this chick we don't see it all we we hear is sex noises and we hear moaning and and name like a horse and body slapping a little bit. We don't actually see it. Now, what is the incentive? What incentive does our guy Shannon have to have a sex tape out in the world for everybody to see? Well, do the math. One, it helps drive up the numbers for his podcast. And that's the game he's in now. He does some TV
Starting point is 00:07:51 stuff, but like he wants to build this big podcast. Everybody wants to build their YouTube and their podcast up so they can eventually be their own boss. That's why Stephen A. Smith is doing more podcasts and videos that I think he owns for whenever he decides to get the fuck out of ESPN or if they ever cut his salary or get rid of him, he's got his own platform to fall back on. Same reason why Shannon Sharp does it. Same reason why all these guys do it. So there is a benefit to having a huge number of followers and subscribers, and I guarantee you, I don't know what the numbers were tonight. Go to YouTube really quick, Jillian, see if he's still live. I don't know what kind of numbers he normally pulls. Shannon Sharp, Shannon Sharp, YouTube. All right. So let's see what if he's
Starting point is 00:08:36 still on there live. I don't know what he calls his. I don't know if Club Shay Shay is what he calls the podcast always or if that's just the interviews or not. Nightcap is what it's called. It's got a million and a half subscribers. It's him and Ochocinco. Let's see if it's live. It's not live? Okay, seven minutes ago, that video's already got 50,000 views, and that's all from live viewers, okay? So I don't know how many he normally gets, but if you look at the videos of his, like his show from yesterday has 400,000 views 24 hours ago. That's about Tyreek Hill. Nicki Minaj slams Jay-Z, says Lil Wayne got snubbed for Super Bowl, 132,000, 197,000 from three days ago. So he's looking at most of his videos depending on the topic. He's getting 200, 300, 400,000 views on his videos. That thing's got 50,000 just from the live.
Starting point is 00:09:26 I feel like that thing, and we'll keep an eye on this, and that's just seven minutes ago, that's probably going to be his most viewed video of all time because people wanted to tune in to hear him talking about how he was on Instagram live banging it out. So what incentive does he have to stage this? Well, one, obviously, it's to just drive up his social media numbers. Nothing wrong with that. Drive up his subscribers. Drive up his followers.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Build a brand, right? People have gotten famous from fucking on the internet. Look at Kim. She's obviously parlayed it into a lot of success, but she got famous because she was banging on the internet. She took Ray J's hog on the internet, right? So look, there's obviously money and fame involved in that that can come from that. But the other reason, and this is the one I'm reading from the culture.
Starting point is 00:10:13 This is not Josh Ennis' thought. I don't know if the guy's gay, don't care if he's gay. Gay dudes love me, so I don't give a shit if you're gay. I'm not a homophobe. But there is a conspiracy theory out there that shannon sharp staged this to kind of deflect from this idea that he's gay what better way to say hey i'm not gay than to have a voyeuristic moment when thousands of people get to hear the sweet, coital sounds of your lovemaking with some gal.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Again, we don't see the gal. We don't see either of them. Could that be the case? Maybe. Maybe that's the case. Don't know if he's gay? Don't care if he's gay. Doesn't impact me at all.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Just reading comments from the culture. The culture knows more about things than I do. The barbershop knows more shit than I do, right? Is it possible? Maybe. I don't know. But I think it was staged. Like, I just, look, you can't tell me that you do, that's the other thing. That's convenient, playing dumb about how to use Instagram. Dude, you're on the internet all the time. You're on YouTube. Now, granted, you're not the guy running all of that. I'm guessing you've hired someone that handles all your video and shit, right? Like as a former athlete and a celebrity, I don't know that that's not me. I'm speaking for him. I'm neither a former athlete nor a celebrity. But in that situation, like you're probably not someone whose life revolves around the internet and shit. But once you become a media person, it kind of does, especially in
Starting point is 00:11:42 2024, social media, all that shit. So like, I'm guessing some people handle a lot of your stuff, but you're pretty involved in it. There is no way it does not make any sense that you could get to an Instagram live just by oops, took my phone out of my pocket and threw it on the bed. It is complete bullshit. It is staged. He is making that up.
Starting point is 00:12:08 100% slam dunk, home run, made that shit up. It is impossible. Like I was trying to demonstrate it because like Jilly doesn't really go live on Instagram all that often, neither do I, but I do it some. And I'm looking at the phone right now. Again, go to Instagram. If you open your Instagram, first thing that's going to pop up, you see the feed. Down in the center in the middle, there's a plus sign.
Starting point is 00:12:31 It'll show you your photos. You can go to post, story, real, or live. Live is all the way to the right. You have to hit live. Then you have to hit the go live button in the middle of the screen. It is impossible for that to have happened. It cannot happen. This thing is staged. It's bullshit. We all know it's bullshit. We see through it. Look, I don't fault you. Whatever it is, it's getting you attention. That's the name
Starting point is 00:12:58 of the game now. How do we judge people for the bullshit they do to get attention? You need to get attention. You want to drive up numbers. You want to add more subscribers you got a 1.43 million subscribers you want to drive that up you want to be your own boss you want to do all that hey look no one's gonna fire you from your job because you're accidentally banging on the internet they don't see you you admit that it's you but we don't see you there's a lot of elements to this but big picture i think it's bullshit thank you
