I'm reading this story about Pete Golding, who's the coach in Ole Miss. And I love it because these same people who were in love with Lane Kiffin, thought Lane Kiffin was the greatest coach ever, right? Like we need him to stay. He's, you know, he's our guy. He leaves and now he's a traitor and all that. And I understand how all of this works. But it's funny because you get the comments from people in this story about Pete

Golding, who was the defensive coordinator and now is the head coach. And it's just funny because like now, after all that with Lane Kiffin and they love Lane and they want him to stay and don't go to LSU, don't leave. Now it's like, but now we got Pete Golding and Pete Golding's our guy. Because Lane was whatever, but this guy, Pete Golding is our guy. And I'm like, it's just such a weird world that people have to live in, you know, like I understand the concept of a guy's an asshole at one school comes to your school and you like him or if you're in sports you know like i guarantee you there's a lot of people who uh you know you you love t o when he plays for the eagles then you think he's a cock sucker when he plays for the cowboys like i understand that part of it it's just funny that these people

you know now talk like well screw laying kiff and we got our guy then why do you care so much if olmiss was is better off now than they were with kiffin and you don't miss kiffin you don't then why do you hate the guy so much? Let me play a couple commercials here, and we will continue. One of the arguments that people have made about this, and I know I've talked a lot about the Ole Miss LSU game, but to me, it's obviously the most interesting thing going on in the world this weekend. There's not another college football game that's close.

There's not an NFL game that's close. It's week two of the NFL. Hey, I love week two of the NFL, but let's be real. I mean, there's not a ton that you're going to get out of week two in the NFL. So, and I get this a lot because I've been posting more shit about LSU on my TikTok. Hey, follow me on TikTok. I've picked up like 60 followers in the last week or so. But I've got TikTok and, you know, Instagram and stuff.

And I'm just posting different thoughts on shit. It's kind of a weird thing because, you know, when you're not doing, like my radio stuff, none of it really matters in terms of ratings and shit anymore. I'm just dude that does shit at night. I'm a disc jockey, you know. So there's not a ton of, not a ton I can use to gauge, you know, if anything I'm doing matters or is impacting people, you know. So I just started posting more videos and dumb shit on TikTok and stuff just to see what kind of reaction I could get just to kind of feel something, if that makes sense, you know? Not stuff on Twitter.

We've talked about Twitter and Twitter's the worst. and as I can get reaction on Twitter, but as we talked about earlier this week, a couple weeks ago, I mean, I've got more responses to a tweet than I've ever gotten, and it was all just fucking vile bullshit, and I'm like,

I don't feel like fucking with you people. So I just deleted Twitter from my phone, and I haven't looked at Twitter in three weeks, something like that. So whatever, but I have been doing more stuff on TikTok and Instagram, just talking about things that I like and just, you know, hashtagging a few things

and seen. And I had a video that ended up with like 70,000 views the other day, not to brag. But anyway, but one of the things I keep hearing from these people, like the Ole Miss type people, is, oh, what about when Saving came back to LSU? You guys hated him too. Well, yes. But like, over time, LSU people just, you know, got over that, you know. But at the time, obviously. But it was a different vitriol, I think. And I'm trying to take myself back to that time, which I guess would have been 2000. What year was that? 2009 or eight that Alabama made their first trip back to LSU.

And mind you, and I might be wrong here. But I think LSU had already won the national championship in 2007 before Sabin had come back. I think, right? Because Sabin left at the end of the 04 season. He was 05 and 06 in the NFL, right? Comes back in 2007. I think LSU played them in Alabama. I think they played and beat them in 2007, I think, in Alabama.

So it had to have been 2008. Would have been Sabin's first game back at LSU. And he also played a game. People forget this, if you're not from the area. But after Katrina, the dolphins played the Saints in Tiger Stadium in 2005. And Saban came in for that game, too, and he got some booze. Like, that was a different kind of vibe, too, because that was right after he left. But, and I remember people being angry about him, people talking shit about Sabin and all that.

But over time, people have kind of evolved and have just now kind of you Sabin is this kind of lovable figure, and they're thankful for what he did and all that, you know, and they realized that he didn't abandon them for another SEC school. Like if Nick Saban would have left LSU for Alabama, maybe the people, I mean, I feel pretty confident the people would have never gotten over it. But, you know, he left for the NFL. LSU had a coach and he comes back and he wins at Alabama. And look, the one thing that we get annoyed by is that LSU would have been Alabama if Nick Sabin would have stayed. They have every resource Alabama has. They can get any player Alabama can.

and Nick Saban, up until the NIL era, Nick Saban was a gigantic draw for getting people. Nick Saban could get players because he was fucking Nick Saban. And Alabama and schools like Alabama at LSU did everything possible to get these guys before the NIL. So in a non-NIL world, I have no doubt that LSU would have been Alabama. How many titles did they win in Alabama? Five, six, however many titles Sabin won while he was at Alabama. Every year they're in the playoff that there was a playoff seemingly.

That would have been LSU. And I think that's the part where people get kind of like, ah, shit, you know, but there's no vitriol towards Sabin. People have gotten over that. It existed at one point, and it gradually went away. And it kind of got to a point where LSU just never beat them anymore. From like 07, when he came back in 07 to about 2012, 2013, LSU could kind of go back and forth and beat Alabama. And every game was pretty close and pretty epic, you know. You know, they beat them in the game of the century in 2011.

2012, they should have beaten them at home, but they gave up a T.J. Yeldon's screen pass that cost them the game with like a minute to go. That game sucked. That was there. And that kind of started the run of Sabin dominance. And that continued until 2019 when LSU won and won the national title. And then it took them again until 2002, 23, whatever year it was that they went for two in overtime and beat Sabin and Tiger Stadium. I guess it would have been 22. So, you know, it was just a different vibe.

The thing about these Ole Miss people, though, is they have to try to convince themselves and all these stories I'm reading. You have to convince yourselves that Pete Golding is really our guy. Like, this is our failure. Like I'm reading this quote from Walker Jones, former Ole Miss linebacker in the 90s and president of the Grove NIL collective. By the way, they love collectives, it seems, at Ole Miss. She had the Oxford Comedy Collective and the NIL Grove Collective.

We all knew Lane was a pain in the ass, but he was our pain in the ass. Pete's our guy. He's our guy. Ole Miss wants to beat LSU Saturday, wants to serve Kiffin' has comeuppance for the world to see, wants to win and wants the attention, wants to bathe in the sheer enormity of the moment. It also wants Golding to be greater than Kiffin. I'm going to make a 100% gift. guarantee. Pete Golding is not going to have a more successful run at Ole Miss than Lane Kiffin's going to have at LSU. They want to put an exclamation point on Ole Miss Life without Kiffin. If last year CFP run was magical,

Like, bro, you can't in one breath talk about how much money they have and how much they're going to spend the every man these people at fucking old miss are all rich kids there was some video i saw yesterday some dupus kids setting a lane an lSU jersey on fire and obviously he set this thing on fire 10 times while filming this video until he got the video right because he's holding a video that was already burned and you can see the char that like the the the burn on the bottom of the jersey this guy's dope it's like when you watch a movie and a guy cuts like a donut like a cop hits a hard you turn or something like that, but you already see like the tire marks of the street because they've done it

10 different times. That was what this guy did with this jersey. And he's doing this. It looks like some high school kid, maybe a little bit older, like a college kid. And I don't give a damn about anything, but the rambles and beating lane. And this kid's in front of like his parents mansion. They got a giant pool and everything. And I'm waiting for his dad to come out and be like, what the fuck are you doing?

You know, like these people are all just trust, fun, rich shit. So lose me on the Everyman Ole Miss thing. The Ole Miss fan base is not an Everyman fan base. Cut the shit. Like, yeah, Pete Golding comes off as an Everyman. He's got gray hair even though he's only 42. He's like Steve Martin. Like, he looks like a cool guy.

Like, he looks like the kind of guy you'd want to fucking hang out with. He's got a cool vibe about him. Like, his gray hair looks fucking cool. Very few people look cool in a visor, but he kind of looks cool in a visor. I'm big-time anti-visors, you know, but his visor works. his salt and pepper. Like, he's a cool looking dude. He's wearing a fucking hoodie.

It's like 9,000 degrees. So, I mean, like, I think the guy looks cool. But like this whole everyman bullshit. Like, I'm reading this story. Let's see here. They're not exactly buddies, so maybe we should start there. Pete Golding didn't know about Lane Kiffin before he left Nick Sabin and Alabama and took the defensive coordinator job at Ole Miss.

Kiffin needed a new defensive coordinator and Golding loved everything about Ole Miss. Maybe. But what's he going to say? He loved the town, the campus, the people, the vibe, all of it. Maybe he did. Or maybe he's just saying the shit he needs to say to play up to the crowd. The job was secondary. Two kids under the age of 10 and seven family moves already under his belt since 2006. And Ole Miss may just be the last damn stop. I came here for this place, not laying Kiffin. Golding. Phones ringing. I absolutely believe this could be my last move, unless they're.

they eventually run them out like every other school and every coach does. Make no mistake, it's a brutal business of winning and leverage, of moving up and cashing in or falling down and cashing out, of statement games and defining moments, of shining or wilting or breaking out or breaking down. It takes tread off the coach's tires and years off your body. One thing I will say, the shit they put in USA Today now is poorly written.

It's just like, like that felt like a bunch of filler. there to make sure a guy hit a certain number of words, like a words quota. Like basically just repeated himself to hit a certain number of words. The LSU versus Ole Miss Bonanza Saturday night is one of many big games. Look at me. I've got gray hair, said Golding, who just turned 42 in February. I had to get in shape. I've lost some weight.

I'm feeling better. Got to be your absolute best in this job. Okay, cool. Let's see. Especially when it could be your last. Not because Golding will fail and Ole Miss will fire him and the constantly wiring coach carousel will add another loss soul, but because Ole Miss may have found the perfect fit. The Southerner, the every man. Like, okay, there's a lot of every man out there, but okay.

It's from Hammond, Louisiana, about four hours south of Oxford and near direct shot on I-pict-5. Yeah, it's also 30 minutes from Baton Rouge. That's kind of an important note there too. Did you know that he's from four hours south of Oxford? Yes, I'm aware of that. He's also a short drive from Baton Rouge. He's in the Baton Rouge. That's the Baton Rouge metro area, you puds.

Dad was a football coach. Mom was a scholar and administrator at southeastern Louisiana for four decades. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, of course, you have to find the way to build this thing up as, you know, Lane Kiffin, the dickhead versus the every man and blah, blah, blah. I don't know. To me, guy who grows up as a football coach's son, you kind of lose some every man quality.

Like I actually like Golding. Like I like his vibe. But like they're trying to convince themselves that they love this Pete Golding. And he said everything he needed to say. And they immediately made him the head coach, didn't make him the interim coach and all that. But if they were so happy with who they had, they wouldn't be so fucking pissed at Lane Kiff.

And they just go, oh, we're fine. But no, they're going to go out. and make asses of themselves this weekend. That's what's going to happen at Ole Miss. Where was the story I was reading about all the extra security and all the other shit they have to deal with this weekend? Like, it's a, like, now, LSU has been kind of hyping that up too, and you've got like the governor talking about that.

You might need to bring in the National Guard. But Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss Return sparks extraordinary security measures ahead of LSU game. People close to the situation told USA Today that horse-mounted officers from, Mobile and New Orleans police departments are being brought in to assist with security, crowd control and fan management for Saturday night's game against LSU. This thing will make Marty Grawl look like a backyard barbecue,

what New Orleans law enforcement official told USA Today's sports speaking on the condition of anonymity. That might be hyperbole, but it might not. Let's see. Sean Tendell, Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, said the goal is to ensure headlines are made on the field not off it. I guarantee, I guarantee there will be headlines made off the field. There will be things said. They've already making headlines with the shit people are saying about Kiffin's daughter,

another shit. There will be headlines off the field. I've got confidence in the fans of Ole Miss and LSU ultimately. Well, that's your mistake, Mr. Tendell, because these heathens are going to be going at it. As competitive as it is, and everybody wants their team to win, to handle themselves appropriately and act right. Well, that ain't going to happen.

Look, we've been watching all week. I've got dipshits doing roasts of laying kiffin. You got dudes setting jerseys on fire saying bad shit about the guy's daughter, all this shit. Give me a break. This is not going to be a pretty sight this weekend. Everyone involved appears to understand the stakes of a game that will draw the attention of the entire college football world,

The safety of our campus, our campus community and visitors is always priorities, said the Ole Miss Director of University Police and Campus Safety. While we cannot share specific security measures for safety reasons, university police are working closely with local and state law enforcement partners to provide a safe and secure game day environment. They've been planning this for months, apparently, to make sure they're ready.

So the fact that you're planning this for months and the fact that you've got cops coming in from various areas, from other states coming in for this. So, like, it's a big deal. In 2021, Kiffin led Ole Miss into Knoxville, where he'd spent a single turbulent season before leaving Tennessee for USC, Ole Miss 131,26, but a controversial officiating decision that wiped away a Tennessee defensive touchdown spark chaos. Fans showered the field with debris, forcing a lengthy delay and resulting in a $250,000 fine.

These people may throw shit just because. This is going to be great. This is wonderful, compelling television here that we're going to have this weekend. I cannot wait.
